I was looking up Touhous for this and had the startling realization that “Koakuma” isn’t actually an official name, just a nickname. Also, might sub Renko for one of those Keines

no yeah back in the early touhous we rarely got actual names or profiles on any of the midbosses; the fandom just kind of decided on its own that the little demon in stage 4 of EOSD is patchouli's secretary/summon/pet (and they're right for this). this also explains what's up with characters like momiji -- again, early midboss, everything that's ever been said about her is pretty much fanon. i think the first time we got a midboss with a description of what's going on with her is the bucket girl from SA, funnily enough.
