Here is to setting yourself up for success. To acknowledging you make bad decisions sometimes, sometimes on purpose and sometimes not. Here is to knowing that and choosing to make better decisions, for yourself, by yourself, in spite of what you might lose or what you have to give up.

In a completely miniscule way, a drop of water in a lake or a huge life shifting way. This is choosing to change what you talk about, what you decide to learn and where you focus your attention on. This is to trying your best over and over or shifting paths when butting your head into a wall doesn't work. It's for doing what WORKS for YOU.

It's to letting yourself mourn and miss the bad parts of your life and the bad habits you do. We're going to make the most of what we can. We're going to know when to quit and change directions. We're going to embrace the present and attempt balance in what we can control.

I'm going to try my damnest to make the most of this work season, out in the field, out in the woods, doing what I can and loving every part of. I want to love the hard parts I want to be in moment, I want to know it sucks but throw that part away until I can make it to the end. I don't want to complain anymore, I know what's wrong, I know I can't fix it but I know what I can. I just want to remember this season, I want to love it, I want to make it everything in the way that whatever happens happens and that it's ok and I'm glad to have experienced it for better or worse.

i feel like people are skimming over the uk riots in a way that makes me want to tear my hair out. muslims in the uk are in active danger. immigrants in the uk are in active danger. refugees in the uk are in active danger. people of colour in the uk are in active danger. asian communities in the uk are in active danger. black communities in the uk are in active danger.

there are massive far right riots throughout the country right now and people like fucking elon musk and nigel farage are inciting it and still have a platform to speak. people have used three young girls deaths, people's genuine grief in southport, to try and gain traction for their own racist bullshit and it's working.

a lot of refugee charities have been forced to close leaving many people without support, homes, funding, food, etc. if you aren't able to donate please consider sending a message via the conversation over borders campaign! it will send a hopeful, welcoming letter to a refugee in the uk. there is also a guide to staying safe here.
