I made the assumption Olive was editing the wiki articles, and while that's a very logical conclusion to reach, it was actually someone who shares the same viewpoints as them!!! Anything including the wiki articles and Olive's involvement is wrong and that's my bad!!!

Alright fellas, I guess we did it. We have reached the tipping point. I'm going to dedicate this post to calling out one specific person, @olivescales3, and their very toxic behavior. This post will be a bit messy, and I do apologize in advance, I'm writing this from the perspective of a Ninjago fan who also thinks beyond just the petty fandom stuff, what they're doing is just not cool.

I will clarify, I do not make this post for petty fandom drama, I make this to better spread awareness on some of the bullshit they're doing, so you can look out for and understand that they're bullshitting. Without further ado, I think we should just get into it.

So, what have they done?

Now, I should say while there is no 100000% concrete link between hyenabro and olivescales, I think based on their talking points (as well and the information I've recieved from friends in the Chima fandom, who have a bunch of prior experience with them,) it's safe to make this assumption!

So, what has olivescales DONE in this case? Simple, they've vandalized the Chima wiki on NUMEROUS occasions, even after several different people have revised their revisions, so as to discredit any conenctions between Dragons Rising and Chima.

(Green is their edits, red is the ones prior to theirs, I found this while going through their contributions section on their Fandom account, HyenaBro119)

As seen here, they have (under the username HyenaBro119) edited the pages for Chima AND the Forever Rock (I have two similar screenshots of essentially the same thing, one was from the Forever Rock article, the other was from Chima) and claimed Ninjago's lore to be some alternate universe. To further validate it, they write "Ras' visit to," but Ras NEVER claimed to have VISITED these locations, just that he knows them. They also claim the Forever Rock was destroyed, a blatant lie. Only a small section of rock on the Forever Rock was actually destroyed, not the whole thing.

Now, you're gonna ask "but Raine, how can you 100000% say it's them?" and I will cite common sense. While I cannot directly tie Olive to hyena, I CAN say their wording is SO very similar.

Both Hyena and Olive call DR "a parallel/alternate universe," and again, claim Forever Rock was destroyed, WHICH IS A FULL ON LIE. They're so adamant to protect "the sanctity of Chima's pre-established, set-in-stone lore" that they can't stop to think maybe, JUST MAYBE, sometimes a story can get new lore which can ALSO be canon!

I'd also love to share this HILARIOUS screenshot of one of their many posts, which not only backs up what I'm saying, but it's like damn they really set themself up huh!

The also LOVE saying Ninjago cannot do anything with Chima unless they get express permission from the creator of Chima, some guy named John Derevlany, but oh man what's this I see before me?

CO-CREATOR? Oh but Olive, I thought he was the CREATOR of Chima, not CO-creator... ALSO Lego owns the rights to Chima, and Ninjago, and every other theme, as said by Doc himself! If anything he wasn't really dodging the question, just giving a vague answer, because he doesn't know much about the old contracts!

From what he said, it's clear that if they wanted to use anything from the other themes, they'd have to consult folks over at LEGO, not John Derevlany or Tommy A.!

Now here's the THING, I GET where they're coming from, it CAN be annoying to have people only care about a thing you like in relation to something else, but when you're going out of your way to argue that none of it can be canon and it's all an alternate universe it's like... god it's so sad and pathetic really.

Their lies and BS don't even end there with the wiki shit, because I have THIS glorious gem.

A) They bring up that the Ninjago folk do not know who the Phoenixes are which is like, okay??? Why the fuck are they gonna know about how another universe was created??? That's like if someone told me I don't exist in the same universe as my glasses because I have no clue who made them, that is to say, that's stupid as FUCK to say!

B) OH they say something REAAALLL funny ohohohho I am actually dying. Olive says the Phoenix icon "appeared in a Ninjago episode" and "Ninjago tends to reuse assets." Yep, NINJAGO is the one who reused the phoenix symbol, mhm. The symbol that was made in 2011 for NINJAGO, which cameoed in CHIMA in 2014, was actually just an asset reuse by Ninjago. I feel like this actually goes to show how desparate they are to feel right and validated, because this? This a lie! Ninjago made the symbol, and because Tommy A. is co-creator to both, he wanted to slip in a neat Ninjago reference, so he slipped in the Phoenix symbol Nya uses for the Phoenix tribe, not the other way around!

Another REALLY funny thing they did, aside from the wiki and Phoenix symbol shit, was this hilarious attempt at being right!

Yes, the compared the WOLF Masks to BATman's cowl, and did a horribly rough comparison illustration that very much does not make sense. If you actually compared them side by side, the only similarities would be they're both angry animal themed mask with pointy ears, which does NOT go very far in the long run. The foreheads they drew aren't even the same fucking shape lol.

OH ANS WE CANNOT FORGET THIS ONE! Their using a post about the Palestinian genocide and boycotting Lego in order to complain about Ninjago.

They claim Ninjago is produced by Lego, unlike other Lego shows, which is an EXTREMELY bullshit fucking claim. Just like Chima and Nexo Knights, Ninjago is produced by Lego, it's not JUST Ninjago produced by Lego, they are all Canadian-Danish CGI action shows, and they're all known to have Tommy Andreasen involved in the creation of them.

They're using a post about boycotting for the sake of innocent people DYING to complain about a lego ninja show for... killing evil people? It doesn't glorify war, the worst it does in regards to war is like not address how fucked up it can be in regards to the Serpentine War, but that's like it. I think it's so funny they want to single out Ninjago as if it's the only TV series where villains die for trying to conquer/destroy the world.

So, what do I want the takeaway from this post to be? What do I want you to get from it? I don't really know anymore, I just don't want Olive's horrendously toxic behaviors, and straight up lies to stop. If anything I think it's beautiful that Ninjago is making others interested in revisiting Chima again, stop being such a fucking hater dude. They act like Chima is some holy grail of Lego, the greatest thing since bread, but it, just like Ninjago, Dreamzzz, Hidden Side, and Nexo Knights, have Tommy in creative roles.

To act like Chima is somehow greater than is to place it on an unrealistic pedestal as if it's a godsend, when in reality it was co-created by Tommy Fucking Andreasen.

If you read through all of this, I do THOROUGHLY appreciate it, I didn't mean for this post to descend into an angry ramble but ehhh yk how it is. And Olive, if you see this, please, just stop with the bullshit.

What part of "this is becoming not so great for my mental health and I've taken several steps back" makes someone think "now is the perfect time to send Jaz a bunch of racist screenshots and ask him for his thoughts on that person's racism"?

You don't know what possessed her to do this but she found Riri's Instagram and sent her a screenshot of the photo then replied with her own photo which has you and your ex in swimsuits with her kissing down your neck she texted I see she still enjoys taking photos Riri isn't one to play about her girl so she doesn't reply. She didn't even bother bringing it up to you either. She would have continued to ignore the message but they kept coming for a week straight every day there was a new photo and the more she sent the more explicit they got it was riling Riri up. It was pissing Riri off.

Riri kisses you so many times that night to keep you from being embarrassed "it's normal" she'd say or "it ain't even that bad." However the embarrassment stays locked in your mind while she constantly watches the video trying to catch the reason you're so embarrassed.

The author is claiming "variety" for Wyll, but it's just egregiously antiblack. Most of the mod white washes Wyll, while the rest removes his blackness to replace it with other identities - which is still extremely antiblack.

I once went to one of their inbox to tell them to please stop tagging elucien if their posts is just about bashing elriel and they basically told me to f*ck off and they can "do what they want" or whatever. I swear, these are the same little sh*ts that would complain about Elriels tagging elucien.

It's the fact that it's always the same 5 people that have literally no hobbies but complain about Elriels. They're lurking in the gwynriel tag too. They're covering the sweet content we're looking for with their bullshit posts.

I don't want to see the hurtful stuff they say about Lucien and Elucien, nor do I care about their theories and Interpretation. I blocked the elriel tag and some elriels so that I won't have to see their posts. Heck, I'm avoiding acotar content on Tik tok and Twitter just so I won't see anything elriel and anti elucien related. If I wanted to see anti elriel content, I'd go to the anti elriel tag. It's that simple.

The thing is, I also tried to be more open to the Elriel ship. I'm very confident in Elucien, but should Elriel be endgame then I want to be okay with it. However, these little shits that constantly shove statements from toxic elriels to my face make it very difficult for me. It brings me back to "Elriels are so toxic" thoughts.

Babe, I once told people to stop taking the bait and they told me to get off my high horse so I feel you on that. Is it getting on a high horse to say that not everything on the internet is made in good faith and by answering obvious trolls...you give them the fight they want? Wow you sure showed them.

But at its core, LB said it best. It's not a bipartisan system and you actually can't tell anything about a person based on the ship they like. If some folks had any self awareness they'd realize they are literally no better than the people they claim to hate and for every one person hyping them up, 8 others feel discouraged and burned out from all the negativity. A fandom can't sustain itself on pure spite- you need people who passionately love the series enough to draw art, write fic, create headcanons etc etc, and to that end you have to let go of the utter boring obsession with what is and is not canon.

I took screenshots of that post, and one person said "the author wrote it that way for a reason???" and to that I'd say, she wrote enough to make elriel a very popular ship, too. Are we picking and choosing? Are we saying you're not allowed to ship something if it isn't canon? No more Neris, no Rhysta, no Casslain, no Azris? And who gets to decide what is and is not canon? Someone on that post was discussing what "true" eluciens are, which excludes me along with a vast swath of other people.

I didn't elect any of these people to decide what I was allowed to write about or commission art for- Like the cherry picking so people can be faux outraged and then take screenshots of one of the most popular artists in the fandom, with a VERY distinct style to create a victim narrative that allows them to feel good about bullying is just overdone and boring at this point.

Anyway, I'll always advocate for blocking people and creating spaces that feel good. And I'll continue saying that if you hate something that much, you should stop engaging with it. No one is ever going to change my mind about elucien, I'm confident in my choices and even if SJM doesn't go that direction, I'll still be writing elucien like idgaf. The constant looking each other up to talk shit reeks of insecurity and boredom. Couldn't be me.

Alright, so, I know I said I wasn't gonna say anything BUT the more I think about this the more I feel like it would be good for me to post this. Mouthwashing is a game that begs you to analyze and discuss it, and that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to put this under a read more.

CWs for all the typical Mouthwashing things, but if you don't know about the game and still want to read, CW for rape/sexual assault/victim blaming/etc.

First - I want to make it clear that I don't hate anyone, I don't think you're stupid, etc. I am simply discussing my feelings as a person who is a survivor of sexual abuse/assault and what I have noticed since the game's release. I am trying to have a real discussion about this. I'm also not saying that liking bad/villainous characters is bad. That's silly, and I myself LOVE villains. Like I said, I'm just trying to have a discussion.

So something I've been struggling with in the world of Mouthwashing and its fandom is the treatment of Curly. I see so much art of him. I see folks self shipping with him. I see people shipping Curly and Anya. I see a lot of rewriting of Curly's character and it is, admittedly, really frustrating. I'm going to be linking to some twitter threads containing screenshots and videos from the game.

I understand that a big chunk of the reaction to Curly is that, on the surface, he is a likeable guy. He's handsome, he's funny, and he cares for his crew (except Anya, but we'll get there). And his present state at the game's start is genuinely really sad to see. You can't fathom the pain he is in, even with the medication. He is a character that is easy to sympathize with.

And I fully believe this was intentional. Curly lulls you into a false sense of security, with his conventionally attractive appearance, his easy-breezy attitude, etc. I see why people gravitate to him, like Daisuke. I think Curly is a genuinely interesting character to analyze for these reasons.

I also think a lot of people are ignoring his glaring flaws in favor of a more palatable version of Curly.

It is made explicit in the game that Curly tries to brush away Anya's rape. In this series of screenshots, he blames Anya taking the gun on the stress of losing her job -- not, y'know, the RAPE she endured and the fact that Curly is going out of his way to protect her rapist. Anya is actively afraid of Jimmy. Here's screenshots from that same thread detailing this. Curly knows how Anya is scared of her rapist! And still, he tries to intimidate her into giving him the gun back.

Further, Curly takes Jimmy's side. His response to Anya being raped isn't to attempt to protect her -- get her a lock on her door, let her sleep in the med bay, etc. It's to talk to Jimmy, get his side of the story. And what does he tell Jimmy? To paraphrase, "We'll fix this." Fix what? The fact that Jimmy is a rapist? Anya being impregnated by said rapist?

As many of you know, I am a survivor of sexual abuse -- not to Anya's extent, but I have been in a similar place to her. I have been in 2 abusive relationships. Both times, when I tried to tell the people I was close to about the abuse, they took my abusers' sides.

In the last one, I desperately tried to show our friend group that I was being abused. I told them I was being abused, verbally and sexually. I wanted so badly to be believed. Because my abuser was charismatic and funny, all my friends took his side, including the one I was closest to. It was devastating.

That one close friend tried to reconnect with me. He did not apologize for his role in my pain. In fact, he told me my abuser had wanted to reconnect with me too. He said he didn't understand why our friend group had to fall apart. He told me he could help me fix things with my abuser.

Sound familiar?

I see this scenario playing out again. People minimize the victim's pain for the sake of peace and harmony. "We can work this out! We can fix this!" It's bullshit. You can't work things out with an abuser.

People lose the plot when it comes to Curly. He is like the friend who wanted me to be friendly with my abuser again. Curly is just as culpable for Anya's suffering and death as Jimmy is.

But because he's the conventionally handsome, charismatic, caring dude, it gets brushed aside and he gets turned into Anya's "himbo bestie" or something similar. He isn't! He aided and abetted her rapist! Don't lose sight of that!!

And like I said, please don't come away from this thinking I hate you, or that I think you're a bad person if you do these things. I have a few mutuals who I have seen shipping with Curly, or making art with him where he's more of the friendly, sweet, well-meaning but confused pal to Anya. That's not the point I'm trying to make.

The point I'm trying to make is, I'm asking people to consider how they treat Curly. To really consider his character, and to consider Anya, the victim. To see her as more than a victim and a vehicle for the story to move forward for Curly and Jimmy. I'm asking people to think about why they treat Curly like they do.

Anyway, that's what I wanted to say. Please feel free to ask me for clarification on any of the stuff I talked about if it needs clarifying. It's 6 am where I am right now and while I've proofread it, my eyes/brain may have easily glossed over mistakes in my wording/spelling.

I completely understand why some people feel as if terms like twink has been heavily sexualized, I see it commonly get used VERY VERY wrong and I, me, *someone* who prefers the term bear/cub (or one i coined myself- critter!) have been called a twink. i am a hairy 5'2 210-220 something man. definitely not a twink.

but this doesn't mean we should be attacking people who like to use those labels for themselves. we shouldn't be targeting ppl and telling them that they are actively fetishizing a community bc of that. it's so extremely harmful and from someone who went to a highschool with an active lgbtq+ alt scene, I've personally seen how this has affected the peers around me in negative ways- including myself. it's not worth breaking a community by dogpiling/etc on someone because they found a label that fits them and doesn't even harm anyone else.

in my area, many folks around my age have been oppressed so much by older folks and it's exhausting. everything we do is seen as some horny gay creepy bullshit because of stuff like this. it feels like the way older people sexualized queer folk has been passed down to how we see ourselves today and now there's so many people that don't want to look into the absolutely *beautiful* history of lgbtq+ because everything is seen as sexual or fetish.

I will step up and admit, I've been petty, I've been annoying as hell, I've been stubborn, and I have overdone myself more than once. I have not been gracious at many times and I completely understand people are upset about it. It was never my intention to hurt anybody, and I say this completely honestly. But holy shit, looking back, do I fucking jump to conclusions.

Also, for context, it hasn't helped that I'm not exactly in a good place mentally lately due to personal issues.

As a... I wouldn't say content creator, but as a writer and artist, I also struggle with criticism at times and I would be lying if I said that having critics, no matter how civil, is not a walk in the park. That we can all agree on. I imagine it's not fun, as a pretty anxious person myself, to have a few people call you out on some bullshit -regardless of if they're right or not- because, trust me, I have been there, and I should have been more mature, being aware of that. However, I will make the point that the "harassment campaign" you are talking about is just three or four mostly cloutless people complaining about immature behavior on part of a popular artist; on your end, we have the big names of the fandom overreacting at the plight, no matter how ridiculous, of a blogger that has a fraction of a fraction of your fame.

It would be dumb to pretend I have not stepped on people's toes or pushed their buttons the same way it would be dumb to pretend the other side hasn't done the same in differnet ways. So let me reiterate: I am genuinely sorry if I've made any of the people involved feel bad or insulted, though I would be very happy if they made the move to likewise apologize for their behavior, because it's not like I'm super happy about the way they've treated me. Once again, if you stay in your lane I'll also stay in mine and vice versa. Like. Sure. Let me be clear here: I don't want anybody to harrass anybody, go after anybody, or start any more shit. God knows I've already had enough and I wouldn't want to drag more people into this. Any sort of disagreement or beef there is in the fandom should stay between, well, the people affected, like that's OUR problem to sort out? Not yours? So please and for the love of all that's holy don't stoke the flames from this point on because right now we're all just angry and sad and scared and. Um. That doesn't feel great.

I still stand by my opinions, and anybody who knows me knows I'll die on whatever hill, but I have no issue with admitting that an angry Doc is a very petulant and immature creature, and now I'm seeing the consequences. So. All I can say right now is that I sympathize with the fandom at large, understand why they're angry at me, and just... I suppose sit down and be more reasonable even in the face of people who aren't exactly being it. Turn the other cheek and all that.

All this aside, I'm glad we are... kinda cooling down, and having enough emotional maturity to not involve more folks. I'd hate if this got any bigger, and I'm sure that's something we all believe.

TL;DR: I've gone a bit too far and admit I've also overreacted in regards of the current fandom drama, and feel sorry for it. But also please it wouldn't kill you to do the same? So a lot of this post is pretty terrible, and we could spend all day dissecting why courting engagement is not in fact the anti-homogeny (?) praxis that these folks claim it to be. Or discussing how tumblr's thriving bullying culture probably contributes more to engagement (or lack thereof) than liking posts. Or how human beings are not in fact morally obligated to act as free advertising for indie creators.

But the most egregious fucking bullshit here is two comments up, where sabrinaacarpenters "proves" that engagement has fallen since 2013. For the record, I don't have access to the kind of metrics I'd need to say whether or not engagement has fallen. It may well have. But the methods she (pronouns taken from bio) uses to "prove" it are a great example of lying-by-numbers.

Sabrinaacarpenters posts screenshots of notes supposedly taken from posts she made in 2013. Red flag number one: there are no timestamps in the provided screenshots, nor links to the posts in question. In other words, they could be from more recent (or older) posts, or completely fabricated, and we'd have no way of knowing.

(Actually it's red flag number two, because number one is the slippery-slope guilt trap that is the entire conceit of this post. Content-free by 2023? Really?)

For the sake of argument, however, let's assume she is telling the truth and the screenshots are from real posts made in 2013. They still tell us fuckall about engagement in 2013. Why? Because the screenshots were taken nearly a decade later (2022 for those who have timestamps turned off) and include engagement for that entire period. Of course the ratio of reblogs to likes is higher than a post made today. You can only like a post once, but have unlimited reblogs. That means if I see a post today, and I like and reblog it, the ratio of my engagement is 1:1. If I see it tomorrow and decide to reblog, that ratio goes up to 2:1. It can never get lower, unless I delete those reblogs, because I've already used my one like. It can, however, get infinitely higher. We know that tumblr users tend to reblog posts more than once. As the post gets older and continues to circulate, it stands to reason that it would gain reblogs faster than likes, even if most people who see it only like it.

I don't have a snappy conclusion here. I'm just begging you guys to be more intentional about the numbers you share. This post is harmless enough, if obnoxious. But these are the same tactics used to fuel antivax paranoia, to justify anti-trans bills, to back up any number of false and bigoted claims. You may not have fallen for those particular claims, but you're not immune to propaganda, as the saying goes. Statistical and mathematical literacy isn't a foolproof vaccine, but it's a start.

If you take nothing else away from this, at least take these:

1. Turn on your timestamps. Now. If you don't know how, ask your search engine of choice, or just poke around settings until you find it.

2. Don't reblog anything without a source. And do actually click the source before you spread it. Don't just see a link and assume it's all good. For all you know, it's a rickroll.

3. Don't spread guilt traps. Guilt is a really good way to turn off someone's critical thinking, and bad faith actors know it. I don't care if the rest of the info is good, foster an environment free of guilt. If you must, make your own post with the same info presented neutrally.

4. Check. Your. Numbers. Actually think about what they represent and how they were collected. Pick up a used stats textbook and read it. Watch one of the many many free stats & math courses on youtube. Don't share a number if you don't know where it came from. Math is only scary if you let it be, so don't let it. If you really have no idea where to start, dm me and we can brainstorm together.

Broken Hearts - Knox

The police haven't divulged any further details surrounding Knox's arrest, leaving him to grapple with the unanswered questions swirling in his head.

He sits alone in the cold interrogation room, his hands cuff-less and clenched into tight fists on the metal table as his mind replays the night of Hayes' murder.

He'd thought he and Finn covered their tracks flawlessly.

They'd been cautious, parking several blocks away from Hayes' house and sticking to the shadows as they approached.

Dressed in all black, their faces concealed by ski masks, they had taken every precaution to maintain anonymity.

Sure, instinct took over and Knox had to kick the door in when he heard Finn struggling inside but the prospects had cleaned everything up afterward, even repairing the busted door frame.

Knox had been confident they covered all their bases but now, as he sits in this dank interrogation room, doubt begins to creep in, insidious and persistent.

What if a nosy neighbor saw or heard something and reported it?

Had Hayes anticipated Knox's retaliation and set a trap to somehow record his demise?

The possibilities are endless, each scenario playing out in vivid detail in Knox's mind.

The uncertainty is maddening and the silence around him doesn't make it any better.

But Knox isn't stupid.

The cops know exactly what they're doing by leaving him alone for all this time, the slow tick of the clock on the wall meant to make him anxious, make him slip and incriminate himself when they finally start to question him.

His cell-phone was taken from him immediately upon arrival, so he has no clue how long he's been sitting and waiting.

No one has stopped by to see if he's still alive and breathing.

No one has offered him anything to eat or drink.

The most the pigs have done is remove his handcuffs.

Standard police pressure tactics.

Still, time crawls by at an agonizing pace.

He almost drifts off to sleep by the time the door creaks open and a grizzled detective strolls in carrying a digital recorder, a notepad and a thick manila folder.

Without a word of introduction, the detective takes a seat across from Knox, his demeanor cold and calculating.

He pulls out a stack of photos from the folder and slides the first one toward Knox.

"Let's not waste any more of my time, Mr. Hansley," the detective says, his tone dripping with condescension.

"I got these images from CCTV footage of the Trivelle area, which I'll be more than happy to show if you think I'm bullshitting but what I would first like to know is if you recognize this vehicle."

Knox glances down at the blurry screenshot, the black and white image of his truck is captured cruising down a street near Hayes' neighborhood.

The grainy quality does little to obscure the familiar contours of his vehicle.

Knox knows it's his truck and so does the detective.

"Come on now, detective."

Nonchalantly, Knox pushes the photo away, his grey eyes meeting the detective's gaze.

"Plenty of folks around here drive dark-colored trucks. What makes you think that one's mine specifically? Seems like you're fishing."

"I have my reasons, Mr. Hansley."

The detective leans back in his chair, a hint of amusement crossing his features.

"I suggest you start cooperating if you want to make this process any easier on yourself, or we can sit here and stare at each other for a couple more hours while the evidence against you grows. Your choice."

Knox's jaw clenches, the muscles in his neck tensing as he fights the urge to lash out.

The detective is trying to provoke a reaction, one to add to Knox's potential list of charges but Knox has played this game before and he refuses to be a pawn.

"Cooperate for what? Like I told the pigs who arrested me, I don't know shit about a Hayes Mitchell," Knox replies, his voice steady.

"And I don't know shit about his disappearance either because I'm not involved. It's a waste of resources to single out an innocent man."

"I've got a damn good reason to single you out."

"Then explain."

The detective's eyes flash with anger, his patience wearing thin.

He shuffles through the photos again, selecting another and sliding it across the table.

"Exhibit A of why I believe you were involved in Hayes Mitchell's murder."

The detective leans forward, his elbows resting on the table as he fixes Knox with a penetrating stare.

"Maybe this will jog your memory."

Knox's blood runs cold as he studies the image.

It's an interior shot of Hayes' living room that perfectly captures his final moments spent on earth.

Donned in all black with a ski mask on his face, Knox's large build can be seen on top of Hayes' prone body, a knife plunged into Hayes' skull.

Knox maintains his composure, refusing to break for the detective but it takes every ounce of willpower to not visibly react.

"The crime was caught on camera, a pet camera, to be exact."

The detective's laugh cuts through the silence.

"Funny shit, isn't it? Being busted by a pet camera?"

Knox's mind races back to the encounter he had with Hayes outside his bedroom at the clubhouse.

The bastard did mention something about Milo... Bear's real name... and a pet camera.

Shit.

"Did you know they made pet cameras so you can watch your fur babies when you're not at home? Milo, my dog..."

A wave of nausea washes over Knox as he curses himself internally for his recklessness and impulsivity.

How could he have missed a fucking pet camera?

He was certain they scoured the place for any trace of evidence before taking off.

But no, some tiny, hidden camera slipped past him and now it's come back to bite him in the worst way.

'How the fuck did these pigs get the footage? Does someone else have access to Hayes' accounts?'

The questions continue to pile up in Knox's mind as the detective lays out more stills of the grisly scene.

Did the snitch watch the murder and willingly hand everything over to the police?

Do the pigs know Hayes did work for bikers?

Or far-fetched but still a possibility, could The Jackals somehow be involved in all this?

The only saving grace is that Knox and Finn kept their faces concealed the whole time.

Plus, if the footage came with audio, both their voices would be on it and the police would've already had Knox locked in a cell.

"Looks like the poor guy got fucked up the hard way."

Leaning back in his chair, Knox meets the detective's gaze, his tone bored.

"My condolences but I still don't understand why I'm being targeted. You and I both know you need something more substantial than speculations and a couple of blurry photos."

"Don't worry. More evidence is coming."

The detective's lips curl into a humorless smile as he jabs a finger at another incriminating image.

"Man in the photo matches your height and build perfectly."

"Go to the local gym and you'll find dozens of men with similar builds. What else you got?"

"Cell records put Mr. Mitchell at your crew's clubhouse mere hours before he turned up dead in a pool of his own blood. Why was he there at your clubhouse, Mr. Hansley?"

Knox immediately counters.

"Again, I never met that man a day in my life and even if I had, what makes you assume I was there on the property at the same time he allegedly was? This is all speculation, detective. Don't you pigs need a hell of a lot more than that to formally charge someone for a crime like this?"

Knowing Knox is absolutely right, the detective's face reddens, his frustration boiling over.

"I see you're smarter than you look."

"You have my records. You think I don't know exactly how this interrogation shit works?"

"Don't underestimate me, Mr. Hansley. I know how you bikers operate. All of you live together like you're frat boys still in college. And if that's how you want to live your life as a grown ass man, so be it. None of my damn business but what is my business is keeping this town safe from criminals like you. I can't do that if you and your goons insist on doing shit like this..." he says, tapping his finger on a different screenshot of Knox and Finn rolling Hayes' body up in a tarp.

"If this isn't you and a biker brother in this photograph, then tell me where you were on August 16th between the hours of 10 PM and 3 AM?"

Knox feels the walls closing in as the detective's frustration mounts. If the police have already accessed Hayes' cell phone records and believe Knox is the main suspect, it's only a matter of time before they obtain a warrant for his own cell records.

The thought sends a chill down his spine, knowing that his phone's location data will place him right in the center of Hayes' neighborhood.

For a split second, he considers using Everett as an alibi but he quickly dismisses it, refusing to drag Everett into this mess and further taint their already strained relationship.

Then again, placing himself at the clubhouse will only fuel the detective's suspicions, adding credence to the assumption that Knox is responsible.

Yet, remaining silent paints him as guilty, which leaves him vulnerable to the damning evidence of his cell phone records.

Each choice leads to a dead end.

'I'm fucked if they manage to somehow get the audio from that footage. Finn too, if they can identify him.'

Just as he's about to resign himself to requesting his lawyer's presence, a knock on the door interrupts.

The detective, visibly exasperated, gets up to step outside.

A sigh of relief escapes Knox's lips, the momentary reprieve allowing him to gather his wits.

It's evident the police lack concrete evidence directly tying him to the scene but the looming threat of his phone records hangs over his head like a guillotine.

He needs to find a way to destroy those records and erase any trace of his and Finn's involvement.

'Cell phone companies get hacked all the fucking time. Maybe Mason and his buddies can trigger a breach and corrupt Finn and my records. Easier than it sounds, though. How long will something like that even take...'

When the detective returns, he attempts to resume the interrogation, employing a new tactic to provoke an emotional response.

"For the sake of your soul, you need to step up and do what's right," he urges, his eyes searching Knox's face for any crack in his facade.

"Don't you want this off your shoulders, son?"

"I'm not your son and I lost my soul the day my mother died," Knox says.

"I'm also done talking. You can speak to my lawyer from here on out. Her name is Elizabeth Weiss."

He relishes the flash of recognition, the slight widening of the detective's eyes at the infamous attorney's name.

She's undefeated in her field, has never lost a case and costs the club a shit ton of money to keep on retainer.

Even with all that, if more damning evidence comes out against Knox, not even she will be able to stop him from doing a little bit of time behind bars.

Regardless, Knox feels the balance shifting as he rises from his seat.

"Am I free to go?"

The detective's expression hardens.

"No, Hansley, you're not free to go. Based on the current evidence we have, we're holding you for further questioning."

"What? This is bullshit..."

"You'll be in custody for up to 48 hours while we continue our investigation. This is standard procedure when we have reasonable grounds to suspect someone's involvement in a serious crime," he pauses, then adds...

"And just so we're clear, having a high-profile lawyer doesn't change the facts of the case. If you're innocent, there's obviously nothing for you to worry about but if you're not, I will find out. For now, you'll be taken to a holding cell. Someone will let you know when we hear from Ms. Weiss."

As the detective exits the room again, slamming the door shut, Knox sinks back down in his chair.

In the silence that follows, his thoughts drift to Everett, the one person who has managed to convince him that his heart is capable of giving love after having to face the loss of his mother.

The fear of Everett learning the truth about Hayes and Bear, yet again forcing Everett to face Knox's inner beast, gnaws at Knox.

The high possibility of losing the only light in his pitch-black world makes him feel like he's been thrust into the deepest part of the ocean.

It's truly a different kind of suffocation.

So slow you can't help but beg for a quicker death.

The loss of his mother showed Knox how painful it is to live with a broken heart.

If Everett ever learns just how deep Knox's darkness is ingrained in him, if the boy ever decides he can no longer carry the burden and leaves.

Knox won't survive the heartbreak.

Not for a second time.

Master KinnPorsche shitposting 02 or pointing out colours

strap on folks, i'm back on my bullshit and lord knows I got only worms in my brains

I haven't watched ep 4 as many times as i want to but what reaaaally caught my attention is the color theme of the episode 4 (i do use f.lux - an app that adjusts color temperature according to the time of day so I might be delusional sometimes).

The first thing I noticed was that Porsche sometimes seemed to be bathed/surrounded by a somewhat greenish tint while opposite someone bathed in gold (from the moment he wakes up in Pete's bed - remember my first shitpost? i came close enough) or soft golden light, while Kinn is often seen in a soft golden one.

Now, as @antique-forvalaka emphasized in a series of posts, green seems to be appearing when there is danger around so Porsche appearing with so many green foreshadows trouble - Vegas lights Porsche's cigarette in the garden surrounded by green and we all know how that ends, Big makes Porsche deliver the package to Kinn with the ultimate goal to shock him (it keeps nagging at me that Pete thought Porsche knew Kinn was gay but Big assumed he didn't and expected him to be a bigot about it - it says a lot about people's assumptions about Porsche...).

I dare say, in a good portion of the episode, Vegas appears to claim the colour green as his own.

Note he's on a golden background but the green keeps creeping in from the left.

Vegas wears a silky black shirt reflecting all that green light thrown at him (also, please note that his silky black hair also reflects the green).

Keeping in mind that Kinn is red (again, credit for @antique-forvalaka) and Vegas is green, aside from the notion of complementing-green (Vegas, from the second family) opposite primary-red (Kinn, family boss), green engulfs everything - the walls, the floor, the chairs green-green-green taking up all space, infiltrating into all nooks and crannies, the red panels in the background seem like no competition at all until the red fucking chandelier reminds you that Kinn is above the most essential thing: his men and most importantly - Porsche - he's going to protect him from being taken by Vegas - by way of gold, representing the Theerapanyakul family probably

(is it me or Pete appears to be the most crisp of them all, no colour infiltrates him he's plain in black and white even when Vegas touches him; Pete's also on a golden background)

Take a look at this and tell me if it doesn't seem like I'm insane the blue (as in Porche's colour) is so insignificant even while being displayed prominently in the background of the bigger screenshot, projecting how little in control Porsche is here (he looks so pitiful, and he doesn't even speak)

I swear the creases in this guy's shirt appear green (I checked the image with a colour picker tool and it's actually a shade of blue ????)

Green, danger, everywhere! I haven't got the words to say how brilliant this show is in choosing locations and adding colour, it's cinematic, well-thought, every frame a painting...

I'll end this on Pete and Vegas because the person who chose Pete's attire is a genius serving us the bait - Pete looks so distinctly different in all black from all the bodyguards, I paused when he came on screen wondering what's going on.

White objects look white because they reflect back all the visible wavelengths of light that shine on them. A black object absorbs all the colors of the visible spectrum and reflects none of them to the eyes.

Genuinely curious and asking what alternatives to Patreon there are. Ko-fi, TSR, Boosty, come to mind. -- As for the rest of your point, I concede that you're right. Especially what with the larger creators that have partnered with EA... - I would genuinely like to see some income stats of larger creators between what they pull in from Patreon and CF. You say that folks have established communities, but the thing is, people aren't going to pledge on Patreon if they don't have to. It follows that, if CF offers a decent amount, we would be asking them to part with a chunk of income. Do people really think their userbase would pick up that slack? What if they went back to Patreon early access? The community would roast them alive. - I'd be happy to be proven wrong on this, let's be clear. - I also want to be clear in saying that nowhere have I said I think people should stay on CF. Literally nowhere.

Those are all reasons I avoid visiting CF altogether and haven't put my content there.

My main problem with parts of this community is that a lot of folks would rather focus on sending threats and harassment--making lists, pointing out what they're participating in is NOT that.

It all comes from a place of being exhausted of performative bullshit, and people acting like anyone who's hesitated on this is suddenly the vilest scum of the earth. Is the community willing to deal with creators finding alternative income support (Patreon, Boosty)? Like hell.

Like, I work for a company that has multiple ties to Israeli money through their financials, investors, etc. I guess that means I'm turning a blind eye to genocide because my bosses cut me a paycheck. It means I'm profiting off the deaths of countless people. Are y'all willing to cover my expenses if I quit? Are other creators worse than I am because there's fewer steps between them and blood money than me with my job? If anyone can answer those questions without being a flippant and emotional reactionary, I'm all ears.

I believe I've made my stance pretty damn clear. I'm taking part in the boycott of CF. I have not disputed why we are boycotting CF. I have not dissented the idea of why I think creators should stop supporting them.

My problem is how this community is taking that cause and using it to be performative without offering a community-based alternative. Show me the posts calling to boycott EA--all of EA's games. Show me shaming people who post screenshots of new EA products, yes, including Dragon Age's latest. Show me those lists of user accounts. If we're going to shame creators for staying on CF, and target them, then we should be going beyond that.

For a lot of people, fixating on CF is easier, because it means they get to play Dragon Age and other new titles, and not feel guilty about it. That's what pisses me off--because people would rather shit on folks in their own community and use a LITERAL GENOCIDE to justify doing it.

I want to be clear re: Curseforge:

I am not justifying support for the IDF.

I am not here to flame/call out/cause hate or harassment to anyone.

I am not saying that anyone who has content on Curseforge is intentionally and actively supporting the IDF.

And I also believe that last part is vital for our community to consider.

My point to all this is... In this world in which we live, it's only going to get more and more difficult to ask people to part with what sources of income they can get their hands on. I want to urge our community to continue to put energy toward assisting people in need, and organizing IRL, as much as we are able; rather than putting energy toward future shame campaigns online that ultimately accomplish nothing.*

If someone chooses to stay on Curseforge, move on. Put their content on alternative sites. Focus your energy on spreading information and resources to help the people who need it.

Spend your energy on the people who need and deserve that focus.

*- listing creators that are on Curseforge and including alt links to their content is fine imo, as long as we encourage people not to go send hate. We can only hope that people will change their minds eventually, BUT, they are FAR LESS LIKELY TO DO SO if people demand immediate moral purity at the end of a torch and pitchfork. We've all been conditioned in a world where resources are precious. People choosing to stay on Curseforge is a SYMPTOM, not the CAUSE. Focus on actual lives that need our help, and on our IRL political and community movements.

Oh wow, I just found this blog. I encountered her and sent a few very frustrated, strongly-worded messages under her posts, but I never knew her bullshitting went that deep. I don't play Twisted Wonderland so my biggest gripe with her was the fact that she presented her headcanons as fact. All of that nonsense could've been avoided if you didn't even take it to the public. Judging people for THEIR characters that THEY made and can do WHATEVER the hell they want with them? I haven’t bothered setting the record straight with most of this shit, because I know folks like you will continue to believe what you want to believe and hear what you want to hear, just like you’re doing now. You’d think all of you getting onto your soapbox about how you shouldn’t judge or attack others wouldn’t keep talking shit about a situation you know nothing about and/or are terribly misinformed about. A while back, the person in question got into an argument with some people on the RPC, trying to tell them that their interpretation of the lore was wrong. Rather than leaving it at that, when he effectively got shut down there, he proceeded to take a screenshot of the conversation and post it on his tumblr, complete with a rant about the people who disagreed with him, their opinions are so wrong and awful, how dare they disagree with him, etc. essentially playing the victim when he was the one to try to badger them for their opinions in the first place. He also left their names, icons, signatures, etc. in full view.I responded and told him he probably shouldn’t be trying to harass any other people about the lore considering his own character concept (thus, you would think, making my opinion on his character pretty clear). Why? Because it’s fucking true.I don’t give a shit about the lore or whether anyone follows it. Probably every single one of my own characters at least bends the lore. But at least have the self-awareness and respect for your fellow role-players to say “yeah, my character breaks the lore” or not get your jimmies rustled every time someone says “oh, yeah, his character is lore breaking.” You wanna break the lore? Cool. Own up to it. And if you do break the lore, don’t try to force everyone else into following it–especially when you can’t even admit you break lore and instead stretch the lore to try so hard to justify your entirely lore-breaking character concept. Don’t try to heckle people for presumably doing what you do but won’t admit. Granted, these people weren’t even breaking lore anyway, which makes his insistence that they were even more ridiculous.So after some excuses about how he was trying to start some intellectual discussion or something and not just drag these people despite featuring their identities and primarily just complaining about them throughout the post, he admitted he should have at least edited out their names and apologized. A girl in the community is doxxing her online ex-boyfriend in a callout post about him for unexpectedly breaking up with her because she “thinks” he was lying to her about serious issues and “believes” he was cheating on her. Because I’m a loud and opinionated person, and because that’s some heinous thing to do, I spoke out against it (via a post on my own blog without naming names, mind you, because I’m not going to hijack someone else’s post with negativity or call them out by name). The girl found it, assumed it was about herself, flipped out, and then of course I was the bad guy for saying doxxing isn’t okay. And then the person in question joins in. Not even to discuss the topic at hand, but to dredge up the old drama about how I was so mean to him and he did nothing wrong, etc. A pretty crappy 180 turn for a person who apologized and made it seem like there were no hard feelings, but whatever. Someone saw that he obviously didn’t like me, and seized the chance to try to talk shit and spread rumors because they knew he’d give them the platform. They sent him some anon about how I hate women (lmao). And of course, he published it, with no skepticism or disagreement, only more commentary about how I’m mean and awful. I went to respond, only to find myself blocked. So I went on about my life because it’s not that big of a deal, but hey. The moment you talk shit about me, especially in a venue where I can’t respond, especially facilitating some lies and BS rumors, especially after leading me to believe we’d made amends–you aren’t off limits. You don’t get spared niceness and politeness. Is that mean and petty? Probably.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’ve never claimed to be a nice person.Now, to the horrible, awful thing I did to make this “public.” Fast forward to yesterday. I’d kept my mouth shut and left him alone. In a section of the RPC that doesn’t get a ton of traffic, largely because you have to make an account on the website and then manually opt in to this specific forum, several of us were discussing an absolutely awful person which is an unrelated story I won’t get into. Someone asked something along the lines of, “Are you guys talking about Underaged Looking Allagan Voidsent Chimera Demon Guy?” I responded with basically “No, we’re not talking about Underaged Looking Allagan Voidsent Chimera Demon Guy.” And that was it. We moved on with the conversation because he wasn’t who we’d been talking about. His name, tumblr, server info, in game race, class, etc. was all never given. No identifiable information beyond a very brief and tongue-in-cheek description of his RP character comprised of words taken directly from his own wiki, tumblr info, talk of his own character and RP posts.Someone saw the conversation, and based on our intentionally shitty description, was able to accurately guess who we were talking about and send him an anon to tell him about it. You’d think that would be pretty telling about his own RP, and this anon’s interpretation of it. He answered the anon in a long rant about me that featured both my in game name and my tumblr handle. In case you need me to spell this out for you, he went public with it first. I’ll also remind you that I was blocked, so I wasn’t/couldn’t be following him, and I was not properly @tagged in this rant, so I never would have seen it unless someone told/linked me, or someone I follow eventually reblogged it. And I honestly can’t imagine the level of narcissism it takes to write a long personal post full of wangst and victim-playing every time you hear a person had something negative to say about you or your RP character (not even by name–and by picking words from his own descriptions of his character), especially a person you have had issues with in the past and who you openly shit-talked yourself prior. Who does that? Lord knows my blog would be overflowing. Not everyone will like you, especially not people you jabbed at first. Especially not with an off the wall RP concept. Especially not with you trying to pass that concept is lore abiding and just “unusual.” Especially not with you trying to tell other people they’re “wrong” about the lore. Especially not with your character being a squicky, walking fetish and immortal jailbait. And that’s not even touching other things people have told me about this person that rubbed them the wrong way. Move on with your life.However, I found out about the post thanks to the OP himself when he unblocked me just to send me the link to the post and then before I could even read/respond to the post, sent me a barrage of IM’s still playing the innocent victim which is grating enough on its own but also included him straight up lying about ever posting/saying anything about me, insisting he’d done nothing to me, had nothing against me, this was so out of the blue and uncalled for, etc. When I pointed out this wasn’t the case, that I had seen and read the posts firsthand because blocking me doesn’t prevent me from seeing his posts, he began to lie instead about the contents of said posts and pulled some gaslighting bullshit about how I had just “misread” them, all the while either willfully or coincidentally not seeming to understand anything I said to him (I mentioned him publishing the anon about how I hate women at least twice and the response was always “I never said you hate women!!” Well no shit). He kept insisting that I had “gone behind his back” and that if I had a problem I should “say it to his face” despite the fact he’d had me blocked and that I’m not a douchey enough person to try to contact him despite that, and despite the fact that he had “gone behind my back” and not “said it to my face” twice now prior, and had done just that with his post about the folks from the RPC as well.He also insisted that the tumblr post was meant just to innocently “bring the issue to my attention to clear things up” despite me having no way to see it on my own unless by coincidence, and despite him proving to be willing and able to send me IM’s instead, which you’d think could render the need for a public post moot. When I pointed this out, he promptly deleted the post, lest anyone else see through his bullshit to what he was really trying to do.After my initial response to his wall of IM’s, he sent another wall this time with more insults and accusations, and promptly blocked me so I couldn’t respond. So yes, I made a vaguepost, I know, how awful, how dare I. A vague post vague enough that only someone who had seen his post, or who heard about it from him otherwise, would know who and what it was referencing. Until he responded to it himself, that is and unblocked me again to send me more angry messages to which I responded by permanently blocking him instead because this game of blocking and unblocking sure was getting old.Cue his charming friends sweeping in to tell me to eat a dick, making false accusations against my RP partner and I, sending me threats on Discord, telling people I flashed my breasts for money, etc. And the other person? The one who brought him up in the first place who I had only been responding to? Whose name he was given, was aired in the same public post on his blog as mine? As far as I know, she hasn’t gotten any hate, probably not a single message. And I’m glad, because she shouldn’t get any, she doesn’t deserve it. But at the same time, sure seems sketchy that the person who did the same exact thing as me–and who did it first–has not provoked anyone’s ire, not even been messaged. The public post in reply to the anon who named her, even, was aimed 100% at me. Now isn’t that funny. It’s almost like this was an excuse for people who already had beef with me to try to take shots at me and pretend it was justified. It’s almost like all you anon keyboard warriors don’t even know how this started or what actually happened.And now I’m going to talk about something else. You cannot do “whatever the hell you want” with your character. RP is a two-way (or more) street. There is a real person behind each and every character. These people are looking for fun just like you, and are every bit as deserving, and your fun shouldn’t impede on theirs. We are all allowed equal parts of fun.So when people play their weird ass lolicon/shotacon/pedobait characters, who is having fun? What if the other person in the RP was sexually abused as a child and you’re dredging up terrible old memories for them and making light of their pain? What if they’re a parent worried for their child, or worse, the parent of a child who’s already been abused? What if they’re an actual pedophile and seeing you RP this is tempting them, making them think they’re desires are normal and okay? Hell, what if they’re a goddamn ordinary person who finds it creepy and uncomfortable?What if the fetishized, futa ERP avatar is interacting with someone who is trans or nonbinary or intersex IRL? What if it’s triggering them (in the genuine, real sense of the word)? What if the walking affront against the lore character talking about being an Voidsent Half-Primal Garlean Spy in the middle of the Quicksand is ruining everyone’s immersion–particularly when they refuse to play along as others respond realistically IC and try to kill them or arrest them or kick them out? What if the OP af infinitely-stronger-than-everyone-else-around-him character is making the RP unfun for every other RPer involved because their characters can’t do anything but get beaten up or bow to his whims unless they stoop to godmodding or suddenly beefing up their own character?People can and will judge your character. Those judgments are usually best left kept themselves or quietly shared between trustworthy friends. But when your character trespasses on the OOC fun of the role-players around you? Sorry, my guy, people have every right to speak up. And all this nonsense? All this nonsense was a small handful of people who were already pretty nasty showing their true colors and getting told to pipe the fuck down. A pretty good outcome, if you ask me. So, please, block me, anon. My life will be better without idiots like you in it, and the same probably goes for anyone else you intend to block.
