Which refers to the subway bosses Ingo and Emmet from Pokemon Black and White. AND I'M OBSESSED WITH THEM HAHA ! A little about me since I'm a Tumblr newbie:

I'm a Taiwanese American born and raised in California who always dreamed of being a professional artist.

After pursuing a career as a lawyer and then becoming a stay at home mom of two amazing boys, I discovered the art of toner foiling in May 2021. I drew and foiled my friends' pets and shared them on social media. It blew up into my first business!

Since then, I've expanded to digital paintings (mainly of cats and capybaras) and stickers.

I've also done a lot of charity work with my art:

- Raised $2k for Ukraine

- Fundraised $18k for rescue kitties including Wisp and Tater Tot

- Donated and displayed 18 foiled portraits of Queer Icons for the SF LGBT Center

- Painted a baseball base for the SF Giants' Pride Game

do u have any tips on art? I started but am struggling

Honestly I'm shit at giving any kind of advice so please do not take anything I say too seriously, I would recommend you search up info from people that are far more capable than me.

Do not fall for the trick of learning individually how to draw each single thing, most of the time you'll notice you know how to, for example, draw arms, but when it comes to the leg or face structure you don't know shit. It happened to me a lot, take it easy, start with the basics of what you want to learn first, and then improve from there, do not rush, and please do not start with overly complicated parts (backgrounds, hands, etc.), just focus on the simpler things. Artist studies r what help me the most, especially if you do digital art (sorry I cannot speak for my traditional art ppl out there), search up for videos on studies on different digital artists (tppo on youtube is my fave channel for that) and you'll learn a lot of useful techniques, I do recommend you learning from that type of studies when you're at least a little comfortable with your style and just wanna improve overall.

Please please work on your line art/line confidence, I know it's easy to get pressured into making straight, clean, and perfect lines, but most of the time for newbie artists, it just makes your art look like it's lacking. Trust the process, do not be afraid to make mistakes, sometimes a less clean and more messy feeling helps you learn how to make certain curves or weight that you just wouldn't learn by trying to make it all perfect.

I've been drawing basically all my life and decided to do comics after being inspired by peeps like @brooke2valley, @alienbycomics, @assumptionprime, and a handful of others to share my story.

A video series I recommend for newbies at art is Brad's Art School:

It's a fun introduction to art as well as other topics such as art tools, techniques, perspective, etc. He's such a fun personality and love watching his main Brad Colbow channel.

One thing to keep in mind is you can make art with anything so don't jump in buying a bunch of expensive stuff. Cheap supplies can take you really far.

I'm about to leave work and am extremely tired so I'm blanking on different stuff, but if I think of anything I'll keep adding to this through edits and reblogs.

Edit to add I've actually been debating about starting a YouTube channel for this exact thing. Like a super simple intro to digital art and such.

Eyy thank you for liking my art! But oh boy I'm going to apologize in advance since I'm an absolute newbie to the comics world and thus my comics knowledge is very, very limited :'D and because I live in a place where physical American comic books aren't widely accessible, I've only been reading their digital version so far. I'll answer this as best as I can!

If you want a more modern take on the World's Finest dynamic, I recommend the ongoing Batman/Superman: World's Finest (2022) run written by Mark Waid, and its digital version are available in Google Play Books! This run is the one that personally made me start getting into comics (Dan Mora's art heavily influenced this decision as well), and it's been very enjoyable so far.

If you want some retro-flavored World's Finest, then you can try Silver Age Batman & Superman in World's Finest, which is also available to read in Google Play Books. They're silly and campy as hell but definitely has its own charm. And if you're wondering where I got the Superbat co-parenting inspiration from, well...

Let's just say "Superbat raising Robin" definitely has its basis in canon, lol

So yeah TLDR; I've mostly been using Google Play Books to read these comics on an official platform. BUT, If anyone

has any other comic recs about Supes, Bats, or Supes & Bats,

knows any other alternative to obtain these comics (either digital and/or physical),

feel free to reply to this! I've also heard Reddit is a good place to look for any information re: comics, so maybe I'll check it out. That's all I can answer for now, I hope it can help you in any way!
