There was a moment of hesitation on the other end of the phone. Then Todd said, “It was a mistake, okay?”

“You’re damn right it was,” Black said. “Before this, maybe I would have been satisfied to expose you for the corrupt son of a bitch that you are, and let the law take its course. Now I’m going to burn everything you are to the fucking ground.”

All your friends could do was watch as you cried into their shoulders, no one expected this to happen. How could they have ever guessed?

No one knew much about lilia vanrouge, by design he kept it that way for this reason. Yet, somehow, you wormed your way into his long gone cold heart. He doesn't want to hurt you but it was going to happen no matter how much distance he tried to put between you two. He just kept coming back.

Now your heart was paying the price for his fist truly selfish act in the last few hundred years...maybe even the first selfish act of his life.

Your friends were surprised when they found you, knocked out, on the side of the road in front of your apartment.

You had been missing for a year and a half! Then you suddenly pop up, unconscious, outside your apartment. To say that your friends were shocked was an understatement.

When you finally woke up, you looked around and called for people that they had never heard of before.

"Lilia!" Looking around frantically and looking quite frazzled, they became worried, whoever lilia was, they meant an awful lot to you.

"Calm down, your home now." As they tried to soothe you, it seemed to make you more frantic.

''Where is lilia? Where did he...?" You seemed to finally start calming down. Looking downcast and on the verge of tears, they watch you get up and look at your kitchen and then at the stairs leading up to your bedroom.

"I'm back? Did he push me through?" As they sat and listened to your rambling, they all looked at each other with concern. You looked so shaken.

Mountain finds that the siblings who shy away from some of the more abrasive members of his pack will flock to him. Will wander through his garden in hopes that he’ll see them, talk to them, love them.

And he would be dumb to let food walk into his web and then back out of it again. But the fact that he doesn’t kill them the second he sees them doesn’t make him a gentleman. He’d argue that it makes him the opposite.

It is rarely quick, or painless, or gentle.

He tucks a strand of honey blonde hair behind the sister’s ear and thinks about how her last moments will narrow down into terror. When she leans up to kiss him again he doesn’t have to fake the shudder that runs through him.

He untangles himself from her as gently as possible and laces his fingers with hers. She’s so small, bird boned. She’ll be fast, he thinks.

Sunshine will like that.
