Annual Mandatory Batfam Camping Trip

Bruce started the tradition after adopting Dick of going out camping one weekend every summer to try and have a more "normal" family bonding thing

Yes, it is mandatory for all members of the family, even those not currently living in the manor

It is universally hated by all the children except Cass, she thinks it's so fun

Everyone except Dick, Damian, and Cass are all city kids and prefer it that way, thank you very much

Dick was so excited the very first trip and that excitement lasted until approximately one hour into trying to set up the tent (it took nearly two hours total), he's dreaded it every year since but won't say anything bc it makes Bruce so happy

Damian thinks it's unnecessary and uncivilized to sleep on the ground for no purpose other than "fun" (he fails to see what's so fun)

Alfred never goes on this trip, he does a bunch of the packing and prepping and then pushes them all out the door with their bags, Bruce asked if he wanted to come the first year and Alfred said a very polite and British version of "fuck no" and he enjoys his annual weekend off

Barbara was also invited but refused, saying she wasn't technically part of the family and therefore didn't have to go

(Steph tried using the same technicality, but was outvoted by Tim, who wants her to suffer with them, and Cass, who gave her puppy dog eyes, nobody was brave enough to argue with Barbara)

There are three tents: Steph and Cass in one, Bruce, Dick, and Damian in one, and Jason, Tim, and Duke in one

Jason has a scar of his shoulder from the time they tried fly-fishing and Tim's hook got hooked on Jason and Jason will never let him forget it

There is a ban on any kind of traps or hunting after Duke got stuck in a net Damian set up to "protect" them from bears

Tim and Dick always struggle to open the bear-proof trashcans

Every single one of them hates hiking except for Jason, but all of them are too prideful to ever admit it so they all suffer through at least two hikes each trip

Cass' favorite activity is swimming in the nearby lake, it's always refreshing and there's lots of little fish swimming around

Bruce made them go geocaching one year and they split into two groups to compete and both groups got horribly lost

Damian hates almost every part of the trip except each morning he wakes up really early and quietly sits at the edge of a nearby field to watch dear go through, his best memory was when they went in the spring one year and he got to see two fawns and their mothers

i've yet to actually play the haruspex route so take this with a pillar of salt but i feel like we as a fandom dont take enough advantage of the fact that during the entire game, artemy is greiving his father. like i know that he's got more immediate problems going on (plague, keeping the prickly prick from burying us all, trying to beat the serial killer allegations, trying to fill his father's shoes, plague) but like that was his dad. artemy burahk, a man who's not even 30, who's been shown to value family and community above all else, didn't even get to say goodbye to his own father.

So basicly, the Dreamtale story is told like space but its really scientific bc I love space! so Dream and Nightmare are stars in development, stuff orbits Dream but crashes into Nightmare and eventually he collapses into a black hole and Dream is blown away by the affect. ...

This was made when my fyp was FLOODED with people complaining abt how many centered Sans AUs there were so I made one where Sans is just an ass to everyone and Papyrus is sad all the time, nobody at the bar likes him, Torial hates him for telling offensive jokes.

Pass down guardianship

Basicly Dream and Nightmare die and the power gets passed down to their subordinates, but Dream doesn't really have one so it's eather Cross or Swap.

ErrorDream

Keep it simple, Dream gives useful info from the "internet" to the villagers while Nightmare gives sad warnings abt wars or boycott componys. And eventually yk the apple incident? Well, Nightmare turnes into a virus.

This can work with Swapdream too where Dream is a virus popup add tricking people and Nightmare warns people abt the weather and all that sad shit.

Biblicly accurate Dreamtale

I have a fic abt this but it's kinda bad...

My idea was to eather just take the Bible and replace god with Dream and Lucifer with Nightmare but that's too simple!

Instead their brotherly bond was so strong that they ate the apple togeather in front of the villager mob and became 15ft tall giant biblicly accurate angels that guard the tree. Dream has multible eye wings, Nightmare has the eye rings.

I also wanted to make it so Nightmare coukd only be seen if Dream was around, like how the moon can only be seen if the sun shines on it.

it makes me so ridiculously happy whenever ryan refers to shane as his best friend. they don't even have to say it, that man IS his best friend but hearing the words come out of his mouth is everything. but sometimes i feel like it's not mutual? like, ryan's been shouting how shane's his best friend to the world, even made him his groomsman (was he the best man?) but why do i lowkey feel as if shane doesn't reciprocate that? obviously shane's been saying how he's his friend and has defended ryan time and time again, but is shane ryan's best friend but ryan isn't shane's best friend? or maybe compared to ryan, shane really is just privy with his personal life? (also ryan isn't even one of shane's groomsman]

i don't wanna look deep into their relationship because they're real people but yaknow

shane was not ryan's best man but the fact that ryan wasn't in his wedding should nottt stick out to you as support for shane not reciprocating ryan's feelings or whatever. ryan had ten people up with him at his wedding and shane had four. ryan's wedding was a lot bigger than shane's and there are so many other factors that go into choosing those people that ryan not being in it cannot possibly be a statement that he doesn't care about him the same.

you're definitely right at the end tho shane is more private with his personal life. and they are real people with a private friendship as well as their public one and we have no way of knowing what goes on there but i definitely Don't think theres any one-sidedness or uncertainty or unevenness about where they stand with each other.

AURANE AU VERSE : THE KING

excerpt from the dance of the dragons : a true retelling. written by grand maester munkin, based on the accounts of grand maester orwyle.

when aurane targaryen, the king's shadow, is informally called king, he is still suffering from fever and injuries from his battle with daemon targaryen above the god's eye. the remnants of house targaryen is such : two children, who do not understand the weight of such a burden as the crown, as the iron throne ; or the twin of the late king aegon ii. the prince who battled for the greens, the one who may be dead within the fortnight of injury.

surprising to everyone involved, the prince -- and now king -- does not die. he rises with some difficulty, to be sure, but prince aurane is crowned just a month after the official end of the dance of dragons. it is some sort of irony that the man that had so desperately avoided power ( he had the chance to take it when his twin was injured so severely after rook's rest, and instead gave the title of prince regent to his younger brother ) ends up with the most powerful seat in the realm.

some who still believed that rhaenyra's son should have been king instead were not pleased with the development, but that was the minority ; the council understood that a child king was not what was needed for the realm to prosper, and more importantly to recover after such a civil war. another testament to king aurane's character is that while he could have banished aegon and viserys away from king's landing, he instead took the two young children under his wing, easing their transition back into their lives as young princes of house targaryen. for someone that despised the crown and the throne, king aurane does rule peacefully for the remainder of his life, working hard to undo the damage that his family had done to the realm. he takes many opportunities to visit those who have been displaced by the war, and establishes better trade routes between dorne, the free cities, and westeros.

some historians raise questions about the king's mental state after such traumatic events -- there were some following reports of the king waking in the middle of the night in terror, or in certainty that his brothers were out in the hall, or his mother would be in the room at any moment. though it should be noted that this is all second - hand information, and cannot be confirmed with any certainty.
