"Can I tell you something?"
Honestly, Eddie isn't sure where it comes from. One moment he's watching Buck trying and failing to bite through the long line of melted cheese stretching from his mouth to the slice of pizza held at arm's length, the next something scolding tears through his chest like a bullet from a sniper's rifle and Eddie's mouth falls open before he can think of what he's going to say.
"'Course," Buck mumbles through his mouthful of pizza, breathing around it because its still too hot of course. There's a smear of red sauce on his chin and the pizza is still held aloft about a foot away from his mouth, Eddie finds him desperately beautiful.
"In the truck, after I was shot," Eddie slides the plate under the pizza slice just as Buck drops it, "and after you told me you weren't hurt, there was one last moment that I fought to stay awake."
"Eddie—"
"Not for Christopher, not for you, but for myself." Eddie nods, eyes trained on the picture of Buck and Christopher on the fridge. "I just wanted to look at you. Just for one last moment. When I knew that you were okay, that you weren't hurt, that I didn't have to worry about you or Chris. I just wanted to look at you." Ironic, he thinks, that he can't look at Buck now. He sucks in a sharp breath and turns to meet Buck's dazed blue eyes. "I wanted you to be the last thing I saw." Buck swallows, that damn string of cheese still hanging from his lips. "And then I woke up to Ana sat next to me in the hospital, and I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in my life."
The loft hasn't been this silent since the morning after that one fateful night during quarantine when they'd thought it would be a good idea to get hammered and play truth or dare, and nobody could look each other in the eye over the several terrible secrets that had been revealed.
Its that same cloying silence now.
Not their usual silence. Not the comfortable silence Eddie revels in. Not the warm silence that greeted him when Eddie walked into the loft with a pizza after asking Buck to call him with an "emergency" to get out of a date with Pepa's latest "perfect woman".
"W-why are you telling me this?" Buck stutters out. "Why- Why now?"
"Because I've been on four dates since you died and none of them have felt remotely close to the night we scammed ten Porterhouses out of the Chief." Eddie shrugs, looking out to the red umbrella flapping in the wind on the balcony. He swings his gaze around to Buck. "Because you said you had the answers, and I'm hoping with everything in me that you have the answer to this question."
"W-what, um, what question is that? E-exactly?" Buck asks, voice breathy.
"If I told you that I'd been falling since that ambulance exploded," Eddie smiles, its a shaky thing full of fear, "would you catch me?"
"Always," Buck breathes without any hesitation, laying his big hand on Eddie's forearm. "Always, Eddie."
"And if I asked for your heart?" Eddie manages to choke out.
"You've had it the whole time, Eddie." Buck smiles, just as shaky as Eddie's had been, but bright and brilliant. "It only started beating again for you."
"One last question?" Eddie raises an eyebrow, his own smile beginning to ache in his cheeks.
"Anything," Buck promises.
"Will you kiss me?"
"Now, I'm not sure about that," Buck grins, all smug and self-assured despite the fucking cheese still on his fucking chin. "Don't I get a date first, Diaz?"
"What? Pizza and beer isn't good enough for you?" Eddie quirks an eyebrow, plan already forming in his head for a homecooked meal lit by candles in the kitchen at home, undoubtedly a panicked call to Bobby when the lasagne doesn't go to plan.
"I'd like to be wooed," Buck says haughtily. "I died, I won you steaks, I think I deserve a little wooing."
"Oh, you do, do you?"
"I do actually," Buck grins at him.
"How about you finish your pizza first," Eddie reaches up to cup Buck's cheek, uses his thumb to catch the string of cheese and gently pushes it past Buck's lips which open for him willingly, "and then we can circle back round to the wooing?"
Eddie pulls his thumb from Buck's mouth with a pop and watches Buck's pupils dilate until the blue of his irises is entirely eclipsed.
"Nope, wooed enough," Buck blurts out before grabbing Eddie's face and crashing their lips together clumsily.
Its the best first kiss of his life.

Admittedly I don't read whump often, but cold cold eyes has become a comfort series for me since it hits a lot of tropes I don't see often (parental whumpers are criminally underrated) and oh my god the recent part was so good. The contrast between Marshall's sheer horror and begging while Lawrence comforts him... ahh its so good. I'd love to see a continuation of that with Marshall going into a depressive state as you mentioned in another post, I'm sure it'd be a very interesting progression of events
Sorry I'm a little behind, I've been busier than usual lately! But thank you, I'm so glad CCE is a comfort series for you, that actually means so much to me!! To specify, this is a continuation off of when Lawrence kills Marshall's biological father.
I am keeping my normal content warning, but I'd like to specify again, this is pretty dark and involves attempted suicide via sleeping pills. I just want to warn twice since I know this is a huge trigger to a lot of people, even in the whump community.
CW: Attempted suicide/overdose, parental whumper, manipulation, mentions of death, creepy comfort
It's been a week since Lawrence did what he did. He doesn't regret killing George, but given how Marshall seems so scared and sad… he does regret doing it right in front of Marshall. He thought Charlotte's advice would work, it always did, but apparently not this time.
Lawrence gently knocks on Marshall's door. "Hey, Marshie, can I come in?"
Like always, he gets no reply.
"I'm coming in." Lawrence opens the door to see Marshall absentmindedly playing with a Rubik's cube, not even attempting to solve it, and rather just using it as a fidget.
The younger man doesn't even acknowledge Lawrence, staring blankly at the cube of colors.
Lawrence takes a breath. "Hey, kiddo. How long have you been up? It's almost 11:00." He usually doesn't let Marshall sleep in this late, but when Marshall's awake, he acts like he isn't there.
A slight shrug comes from Marshall. At least he's giving some kind of response.
"Okay… what do you want to eat? We still have time for a late breakfast. We could even go eat somewhere if you want. Or pick something up." Lawrence is desperate for something. This isn't like when Marshall went catatonic, he can tell Marshall is hearing everything he says clearly.
Somehow, that makes him even sadder for him.
"I don't want anything to eat."
"You have to eat something, Marshall. Anything you want."
"If I have to have something... I guess any fast food sounds good."
"Of course," Lawrence chuckles. He's usually against letting Marshall have fast food, but he'd give Marshall the world just to gain his approval again. "Tell me what you want, buddy."
"Fries. And, um, a cheeseburger."
"Alrighty, I'll go pick that up."
With that, Lawrence slips on his shoes and leaves, telling Marshall he'll be back in a few minutes.
In hindsight, that was a pretty stupid decision.
...
Marshall doesn't waste any time as soon as he hears the front door shut. He goes to the front, looking out the window and sighing in relief when he sees Lawrence drive off.
He jogs to the kitchen, then notices the drawers are locked. Well, there goes that idea. He looks around for anything that can put him out of his misery.
Typically, Lawrence keeps the medicine cabinet locked, but sometimes he forgets. Much to Marshall's advantage, when he enters the restroom, he finds the cabinet unlocked.
He tears open the drawer and starts shoving his hand past medications he doesn't know the names of, trying to find something useful.
He sifts through various bottles and pills, but nothing seems to catch his eye.
That is, until he finds an old, worn bottle of Belsomra, half-empty. He remembers his mother had this prescribed to her, and she'd often give Marshall some when he couldn't sleep. He wonders nowadays if that was a responsible thing to do, but it doesn't matter.
He grabs the bottle and opens it after nearly two minutes of struggling. Stupid child safety cap.
He pours the contents into his palm. He walks back into the kitchen, clutching the pills in his palm. He places them on the counter and grabs a glass to fill with water. He never could swallow pills dry.
Marshall's hands are shaking. He notices his whole body is shaking, and tears are dripping down his cheeks and onto the floor. How long has he been crying? He counts the pills, even with his blurring vision from his tears.
Nine pills in total. That should be enough, right?
For a moment, he wonders how Lawrence would react. Hysterical, no doubt. Even though the bastard killed his father, Marshall does know Lawrence loves him... in a fucked up way, but still love, nonetheless.
Would Lawrence even take him to a hospital? Not that he'd want to go, but he's sure Lawrence would be caught if he did that. Unless he had connections there, too. Marshall wouldn't be surprised if the guy had his own hospital, at this point.
Marshall takes the first pill and swigs down the glass of water. It burns in his throat, but not as badly as he expected. He's pretty sure it's just his hatred for swallowing pills.
He takes the second one, and just as he swallows it down, he hears Lawrence's car pull up. No...nonono. He must've dissociated, because what seemed to have been twenty minutes felt like five.
He frantically gathers the pills back in his hand and runs to the bathroom again, along with the glass of water. He's finishing this.
After locking the door behind him, he slips the third pill in his mouth and washes it down with the water. His body is shaking more, and he can't tell if it's from the anxiety or not, at this point.
Marshall sobs as he drops the remaining six pills to the ground, just as he hears the front door open. He falls to his knees and grabs the closest one, getting ready to have the fourth pill, when...
"Marshall? Where are you?"
Great. Marshall knows that means he's already went to his room to not see him there. The younger man tries to stay quiet, but can't control the next sob he gives.
"Marshall?"
Oh God... Please, no. Marshall tries to stand, but his legs aren't listening to him. He stumbles right into the wall, feeling ready to hyperventilate.
The doorknob jiggles, but doesn't open. "Marshall, open the door right now." Lawrence's tone sounds beyond stern, but also terrified, breaking more than once. "Please, Marshall!"
Marshall's heart skips a beat every time the knob jiggles, and he can feel his blood rushing to his face. Is Lawrence going to force the door open? He puts the fourth pill in his mouth, not trusting himself to speak.
"Marshall? What the fuck are you doing?!" Lawrence cries out, louder than usual. He bangs on the door. "Open the fucking door! I know you're in there! Open the goddamn door, dammit!" Lawrence knows the medicine cabinet is in there, and remembers he forgot to lock it.
Growing frantic as well, Marshall searches for the other pills to stuff in his mouth, but then he hears Lawrence start to slam what he assumes is his shoulder against the door, planning to knock it down.
Lawrence knocks the door down after slamming himself against it five times in total. When his eyes lock with Marshall, the blond is screaming in cold-blooded dread, his eyes bulging out of their sockets.
He straddles Marshall and forces the remaining pills out of his mouth, demanding, "HOW MANY!? HOW MANY DID YOU TAKE?! ANSWER ME!"
Terrified, Marshall sobs harder. "Th-three, I took three, please--"
"If you're lying to me--"
"I'm not, just please, you're hurting me!" Marshall's wrists feel broken from the grip Lawrence has on them both.
Just like that, Lawrence is pulling Marshall into an even more tightly gripped hug, so tight it feels like Lawrence is trying to suffocate him. Lawrence starts sobbing into Marshall's hair, causing Marshall to tense up. He's been pulled into suffocating hugs before by Lawrence, but he never seen him openly cry.
"You scared me," Lawrence cries, "you fucking terrified me. Never do that again. Never again, Marshall. You have to promise me."
"Lawrence--"
"Promise!"
"Okay, I-- I promise!"
Lawrence kisses his hair. "Thank you..." He picks Marshall up and puts him on the couch. Lawrence's eyes are red and puffy, tears still pooling his eyes. Marshall would feel guilt if Lawrence hadn't murdered his father. He just doesn't want to argue.
It's hard to breathe. Marshall goes back to feeling suffocated when Lawrence lays down next to him and pulls him into his arms, fingers raking down his back. Compared to how gentle Lawrence usually is with his affection, this is a stark contrast.
Lawrence's fingernails practically dig through Marshall's shirt and into his back. He doesn't know if Lawrence is even doing this on purpose or not.
Marshall wants to say something, but he's afraid if he does, he'll trigger more anger. All he can do is lie there as Lawrence rubs circles on his back.
After a few minutes of silence, he glances up to see Lawrence staring right down at him, expressionless, even with the tears still in his eyes. He looks scary with the blank look he's sporting.
Quietly, Lawrence asks, "Why would you do that? Do you hate me that much?"
"I..." Marshall wants to say he does, to call him every name in the book, but god, Lawrence looks so... broken. He bites his lip and shakes his head. "I'm just depressed. Just because I want freedom doesn't mean I hate you."
Lawrence doesn't answer, but merely continues to stare at him. Marshall isn't sure what to do. What else does he want from him?
"I'm sorry," Marshall tries next. "I wasn't thinking."
"Clearly." Lawrence sighs, wiping his tears with his hand. The circles in his back come to a halt. "I can't live without you. Everyone in my life leaves. If you die, then I'll die, too."
"I don't... um..."
"My father left me as soon as I was born, my mother died of cancer, my other children hate me, my fiancée was murdered... and do you think I'll let you go, too? Especially from suicide, of all things?" He practically cackles, clearly not a shred of humor in it. "Do you really think I'd allow you to do that to me? You're the only reason I breathe, Marshall. You need me and I need you."
Marshall hates how eerily calm he is saying all of this. He feels really tired, the adrenaline of the situation wearing off. His drowsy mind doesn't even think twice about how Lawrence mentioned 'his other children'.
Lawrence seems to notice this. "Get some sleep, sweetie." He smiles, but it doesn't reach his eyes. "I'll make sure a situation like this never happens again. It seems I have to keep you safe from yourself now too, huh?" He chuckles. "That's what good dads do, right? They protect."
As Marshall's eyelids droop shut, he feels the older man's hand go into his hair, damp from Lawrence's tears just a couple of minutes ago. He hears his voice one last time before dozing off.
"Good night, sweet boy. I love you so, so much."

𝕴 𝖉𝖎𝖉𝖓'𝖙 𝖌𝖔 back to sleep that night, though I tossed and turned and dozed a bit before I jerked awake and continued to toss and turn.
After a few hours, Mr. Weasley woke us up and told us to take our stuff outside after it was packed. I got dressed back in my shorts and blouse (yellow this time) and put all my stuff in my bag and trooped outside. Mr. Weasley packed up the tents using magic and we marched behind him to get to the portkeys.
We passed Mr. Roberts who was standing on his front porch and said, "Merry Christmas" as we passed by. Trang gave him a sad look.
"Are you alright?" Trang whispered in my ear as Mr. Weasley told everyone else that Mr. Roberts was going to be okay.
"Oh, um, yeah, I just want to make sure dad knows we're okay." I said, biting my bottom lip. "The riot probably already reached the newspapers and he'll be worried."
We took a rubber tire (much bigger thankfully) back to the hill and we walked as fast as we could back to the Burrow. Percy and I walked as far apart from each other as we could. Fred and Charlie still seemed to be fuming from last night and, unless my eyes were deceiving me, there was a nice fresh bruise on Percy's right cheek. But it could've been a trick of light.
No one talked much. We were hungry and exhausted. We rounded a corner and the Burrow came into view. Then Mrs. Weasley was running out of the house and saying "Oh thank goodness, thank goodness." She flung her arms around Mr. Weasley. I ducked into the house, leaving the rest of them outside. I went upstairs and put my bag away. Trang had followed quickly and said, "What are you going to do? You look so upset?"
"Just tired." I lied, thinking about last night. "I'm going to take the floo network home. . . just for a couple of hours. Unless dad's not home and I'll just come right back. I just need to talk to him, okay?" I smiled at her and kissed her cheek. Sometimes I wondered if I was French. "Get some sleep tiger." Sometimes I wondered if I treated her more like a friend or a daughter.
I headed back down the stairs, this time Trang didn't follow me. The Weasleys, Hermione, and Harry were all sitting in the kitchen and Fred looked up as I came in.
I headed over to where the fireplace was and took a little floo powder. "Elizabeth?" Fred asked, standing up from the table.
The entire family looked over.
"I just want to check on dad." I said. "That's all."
"Are you sure?" Fred asked.
I hesitated and said, "It's probably best if I remove myself from the area for a couple of hours, it'll give some people time to cool down."
I stepped in the fireplace and threw down the floo powder and said dad's house and disappeared, falling out of the fireplace and into someone's arms. I looked up. Dad had been standing in front of the fireplace when I'd come out. One arm was wrapped around my waist to prevent me from falling, the other was away from me so floo powder didn't fall onto the bricks.
"Oh." I said. "Were you going somewhere?"
"Er- I was coming to the burrow to see if. . ." Dad cleared his throat and put the floo powder back into the canister and took off his traveling cloak. He tossed it on a chair and wrapped his arms around me tightly. "I'm glad you're safe."
"I figured you'd be worried. Trang's okay too if you feel like dropping subtle hints to her parents." I said, burrowing my face into his chest. It was always so funny. . . bad things happened and then Dad was there to make everything okay. He was my safe rock.
Something in my voice made him pull back and take a good look at me and then he led me over to the couch and said, "Spill."
I rested my head on his shoulder and looked down at my hands while I spoke. I didn't cry though, like I might've done a different year. But I'd sworn to myself at the end of last year that dad would not see me cry again. I had to pause a couple times when me throat closed up and tears threatened to spill over, and then start up again once my throat cleared. I didn't mention the walk afterwards or what I said to Mr. Crouch.
Dad was patient and when he was done he said, "You know, I never really like Percy."
I laughed and then I couldn't stop laughing and I laughed so hard, tears spill out of my eyes but it was from laughing so it didn't count as crying. I wiped the tears away and grinned. "Really? Was he a bad student?"
"Bit arrogant, yeah." Dad said, grinning down at me. "Smart, but arrogant. But you and Hermione are smart, and simply smart."
I laughed again, this one just a short one.
"But in all seriousness." Dad said, "Trang's right. You have a life to live. You aren't supposed to be watching out for every single thing in life. You can live outside of the known. That's what everyone does, even you. Sometimes there's a situation that we don't know what's going to happen and then, it works out or it doesn't and we work with what we got. Seers, perhaps, have a bit of an upperhand, sure, but I'm sure you never look into your visions to see what you're going to make for dinner the next night, do you?"
I shook my head. Dad was right. Dad continued, "And every person there at the Quidditch cup last night didn't know what was going to happen and no one was killed, so there shouldn't be a problem."
"I just don't understand why I didn't see it." I said, a bit frustrated. I wanted to explain this properly. "Obviously, I've never really understood how they work. I've taken divination and it seems to be helping. But if I saw the entire Quidditch cup, play by play, why didn't I see even a segment of the riot afterwards?"
Of course, I didn't really expect dad to have an answer though he said slowly, "Well, perhaps there's a certain length you can see? Perhaps if you'd only seen segments of the Quidditch cup instead of the play by plays, perhaps you would've seen segments of the riots. I don't know how your visions work anymore than you do so it's only a guess." He shrugged his shoulders.
That could be true, I pondered. I'd never really had a long vision before, but then again, I'd wanted to see the outcome and I didn't want to skip to the end. . .
"By the way." Dad said suddenly. "I don't like Fred either. He's a bit of a troublemaker, I think you should stay away from him."
I giggled and gave dad a patronizing look. "Really now?"
"Yes." Dad said so solemnly that we both laughed. "No." He said with a grin, "I told you last year I have no problems with Fred. I don't really have problems with Percy either, I just think perhaps he views the world a bit like. . . Fudge perhaps. . . a tool to be used and not a person. . . and I think Voldemort thinks like that too."
I shuddered. Dad rubbed my shoulder in a comforting manner. "He's not going to touch you, I promise."
I nodded, "I know. It just seems so real."
Dad kissed my forehead. "Do you want breakfast? I'm sure you haven't eaten anything."
"Ah, dad, you don't have to cook for me." I said.
"Nonsense." Dad said, getting up from the couch and moving into the kitchen. "magic does wonders in the kitchen."
I giggled and watched him make a mess while trying to make pancakes. "You're not very good at this dad." I said, jokingly.
Dad shot flour at me with the wand and I screeched, ducking out of the way.
"Dad!" I complained, flour settling down on my shorts. I grabbed a handful of flour off the counter and tossed it at him so it landed in his hair. A full out flour battle began in the kitchen which dad upped when he tossed an egg at me.
I was eight all over again.
I was safe.
💙💙💙💙
𝕴 𝖐𝖎𝖘𝖘𝖊 𝖉𝖆𝖉 on the cheek and went back to the Burrow sometime after lunch. The kitchen was empty and I saw through the window that the others were out playing Quidditch. I went back upstairs to my room and grabbed my broom and headed on out, being quiet so not to wake Hermione who was taking a nap.
Bill, Charlie, Fred, George, Ron, Harry, Trang where on uneven teams of 3 v 4. "Got room for one more?" I called up.
"Yeah." Bill called. "You're on my team."
I flew up to join them.
💙💙💙💙
𝕺𝖛𝖊𝖗 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖈𝖔𝖚𝖗𝖘𝖊 of the next couple weeks, we didn't see much of Percy or Mr. Weasley as they were both in the Ministry as much as possible. On Wednesday morning before Mr. Weasley left for work, he was to take Trang to the airport. She had her bags packed and slung over her shoulders.
Hermione, Ginny, Harry, Mrs. Weasley and I got up early to say good-bye to her. We all hugged her bye- even Harry- and when I got to her I whispered, "I'll tell you all about what's going to happen at Hogwarts this year, okay? Have a great school year."
"Thank you so much for inviting me." Trang said, with shining eyes to Mrs. Weasley. I think Trang might've been tearing up under her glasses.
"It was my pleasure dear." Mrs. Weasley said, giving her another hug. "I'll make sure you get your present for Christmas." Trang and I beamed.
"Well, come on then Trang." Mr. Weasley said, bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet. Ginny and I gave each other a knowing smile. Mr. Weasley couldn't wait to see the Muggle planes and see how muggles flew without brooms.
Trang and I hugged one last time and then she grabbed Mr. Weasley's arm. He turned on his heel, pulling her into nothingness with a loud crack.
That night at dinner, Mr. Weasley enlightened us on Muggle planes, ". . . Can fit up to 150 people! Isn't that amazing Molly? A broom can't do that! It's ingenious! And Trang said they'll serve you drink and food on the planes if you ask. . . and you can sleep on them without worrying about falling off. . . and they fly at high altitudes so you're above the clouds. . ."
I had a hard time keeping a straight face. It was hilarious the way wizards reacted to Muggle appliances. Like cars or escalators or malls or- like dad- he'd been horrified at amusement parks. He couldn't understand how they could be safe with just a belt or bar. It had taken a lot of coaxing to convince him to ride a roller coaster with me. He hadn't gone on one since.
On Sunday evening, we were downstairs doing things when Percy came home. Bill and Ron were playing chess. Ginny was mending her spellbooks with spellotape. Fred and George were sitting in a corner, muttering to each other. Harry was working on his Firebolt with his broom kit. Hermione was reading a book. Charlie was working on a fireproof balaclava. I was writing a short story called The Vial of Blood and the Jar of Ashes. It wasn't coming along well and I was getting frustrated easily, tossing the drafts into the fireplace.
"It's been an absolute uproar. I've been putting out fires all week. People keep sending Howlers and of course, if you don't open a Howler straight away, it explodes. Scorch marks all over my desk and my best quill reduced to cinders." Percy complained.
"Why are they sending Howlers?" Ginny asked, working on her One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi at the moment.
"Complaining about security at the World Cup. They want compensation for their ruined property. Mundungus Fletcher's put in a claim for a twelve-bedroomed tent with en-suite Jacuzzi, but I've got his number. I know for a fact he was sleeping under a cloak propped on sticks."
I laughed on the inside. Oh Mundungus. Dad had talked about him before. He didn't know him well, but he was supposed to be a trader on the black market and he got away with it.
"Your father hasn't had to go into the office on weekends since the days of You-Know-Who. They're working him far too hard. His dinner's going to be ruined if he doesn't come home soon." Mrs. Weasley said looking up at the clock of the family. His hand was pointing to work.
"Well, Father feels he's got to make up for his mistake at the match, doesn't he?" Percy asked and if I hadn't known Percy well by this point my mouth would've dropped open. "If truth be told, he was a tad unwise to make a public statement without clearing it with his Head of Department first-"
"Don't you dare blame your father for what that wretched Skeeter woman wrote!" Mrs. Weasley said angrily.
"If Dad hadn't said anything," Bill said from across the room, "old Rita would just have said it was disgraceful that nobody from the Ministry had commented. Rita Skeeter never makes anyone look good. Remember, she interviewed all the Gringotts Cham Breakers once, and called me 'a long-haired pillock'?"
I giggled and Mrs. Weasley said, "Well, it is a bit long, dear. If you'd just let me-"
"No, mum."
Mrs. Weasley turned her attention on Fred and George in the corner. "What are you two up to?"
"Homework." Fred said vaguely, barely looking up.
"Don't be ridiculous, you're still on holiday." Mrs. Weasley said amused.
"Yeah, we've left it a bit late." George said.
"You're not by any chance writing out a new order form, are you? You wouldn't be thinking of restarting Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, by any chance?" Mrs. Weasley said shrewdly.
"Now mum, If the Hogwarts Express crashed tomorrow, and George and I died, how would you feel to know that the last thing we ever heard from you was an unfounded accusation?" Fred said, looking up and looking pained.
Everyone burst out laughing, even Percy.
"Oh your father's coming!" Mrs. Weasley said, "Coming Arthur!" She called and she bustled out of the room. A moment later, Mr. Weasley came into the living room, carrying a dinner tray and sat down in the armchair. I blotted my short story in frustration and threw it in the fire.
"Well the fat's really in the fire now. Rita Skeeter's been ferreting around all week, looking for more Ministry mess-ups to report. And now she's found out about poor old Bertha going missing, so that'll be the headline in the Prophet tomorrow. I told Bagman he should have sent someone to look for her ages ago." Mr. Weasley said in a tired way.
I knew Harry had looked up to look at me, but I didn't look at him. I pulled out a fresh sheet of parchment and tried again. It was supposed to be a story with morals and it wasn't working out that way. I liked the title though: The Vial of Blood and the Jar of ashes. Sounded menacing and yet, it was supposed to be a moral story- how different people dealt with depression: those that succumbed to it, and those who worked through it.
"Mr. Crouch has been saying it for weeks and weeks." Percy said, incorporating his favorite person into it.
"Crouch is very lucky Rita hasn't found out about Winky. There'd be a week's worth of headlines in his house-elf being caught holding the wand that conjured the Dark Mark." Mr. Weasley said in a dark voice and I realized he was right along with Hermione about Winky.
"I thought we were all agreed that that elf, while irresponsible, did not conjure the Mark?" Percy said hotly, shooting daggers at Mr. Weasley, probably because he didn't want any criticism about Mr. Crouch.
"If you ask me, Mr. Crouch is very lucky no one at the Daily Prophet knows how mean he is to elves!" Hermione said angrily.
"They don't care about elves either." I said, wondering why Crouch hadn't said anything about what I'd said to him in the woods. Maybe he didn't want to believe me. Maybe he couldn't say anything. Maybe he thought I was sprouting nonsense. "It would just make Crouch look bad for a moment." I said, pondering my next sentence for the short story and wondering what the names of my characters should be.
"Now look here, Hermione! A high-ranking Ministry official like Mr. Crouch deserves unswerving obedience from his servants-"
"He's hiding something." I interrupted, looking out the window. "I can feel it."
"Mr. Crouch isn't hiding a thing!" Percy said defensively. "Unless you can see it with your vision magic-"
"Lay off Perce!" Fred interrupted angrily "Just cause you're je-"
"His slave!" Hermione said hotly. "He didn't pay Winky, did he?"
"I think you'd all better go upstairs and check that you've packed properly! Come on now, all of you. . ." Mrs. Weasley said quickly.
Ron sighed, packing up the chess set. Harry quickly put his broom kit back together and put his broom over his shoulder. Ginny picked up her school books and Fred and George were already gone. Percy went into the kitchen and Charlie and Bill made their way out of the room too.
"Mr. Weasley." I said as most of the others went upstairs. "Mr. Diggory is going to call- by fireplace- on you tomorrow. I don't know about what exactly. Something to do with Mad- eye Moody."
"Thank you Elizabeth." Mr. Weasley said, looking like he might fall asleep in his chair. I wondered if he'd even heard what I'd said, but I dashed up the stairs nevertheless. Tomorrow, we would be going back to Hogwarts. Tomorrow night, I would see my favorite Professor. Tomorrow, I would be away from Percy. Tomorrow, I would be at my second home.
💙💙💙💙
𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝖓𝖊𝖝𝖙 𝖒𝖔𝖗𝖓𝖎𝖓𝖌, I woke up early. Heavy rain was pouring down the windows and I saw flashes of lightning. I got dressed in jeans and a T-shirt for the Beatles. I pulled my hair back into a ponytail and because my left eye had steadily gotten worse over the last three years from not wearing my glasses like I was supposed to- I put my glasses on.
I had packed my trunk last night and I lugged it down the stairs and put it down near the door.
I went into the living room and saw Mr. Diggory's head pop into the fire.
Mrs. Weasley was in the room with me, probably waiting for the call that I had said was going to happen. She rushed past me and said, "Arthur! Arthur! Urgent message from the Ministry!"
I pulled a quill out of my pocket and handed it to Mr. Weasley as he came by. He thanked me quickly and I listened in to the conversation. Harry, Ron, Fred, and George came into the room as well.
Mr. Diggory started to talk very fast. "Muggle neighbors heard bangs and shouting, so they went and called those what- d'you-call-'ems- please-men. Arthur, you've got to get over there- it's a real stroke of luck I heard about it. I had to come into the office early to send a couple of owls and I found the Improper Use of magic lot all setting off- if Rita Skeeter gets hold of this one, Arthur-" Mr. Diggory said urgently.
"What does Mad-eye say happen?" Mr. Weasley asked.
Mr. Diggory rolled his eyes. "Says he heard an intruder in his yard. Says he was creeping toward the house, but was ambushed by his dustbins."
"What did the dustbins do?" Mr. Weasley asked.
"Made one hell of a noise and fired rubbish everywhere, as far as I can tell. Apparently one of them was still rocketing around when the please-men turned up-"
Mr. Weasley groaned and asked, "What about the intruder?"
"Arthur, you know Mad-eye. Someone creeping into his yard in the dead of night? Most likely there's a very shell-shocked cat wandering around somewhere, covered in potato peelings. But if the improper Use of Magic lot get their hands on Mad-Eye, he's had it- think of his record- we've got to get him off on a minor charge, something in your department- what are exploding dustbins worth?"
"Might be a caution." Mr. Weasley answered, scribbling as fast as his hand would let him. "Mad-eye didn't use his wand? He didn't actually attack anyone?"
"I'll be he leapt out of bed and started jinxing everything he could reach through the window, but they'll have a job proving it, there aren't any casualties." Mr. Diggory said with a third eye roll. I laughed softly. Sounded like Uncle Moody.
I headed into the kitchen to get some toast and left the conversation behind me.
"Did someone say mad-eye?" Bill asked as he came into the kitchen with Charlie. "What's he been up to now. Nice glasses Elizabeth."
I grinned but my mouth was full of bread and butter so I didn't answer.
"He says someone tried to break into his house last night." Mrs. Weasley said, putting more food on the table.
"Mad-Eye Moody?" George asked. "Isn't he that nutter-"
"Your father thinks very highly of Mad-Eye Moody." Mrs. Weasley said sternly and left the room.
"Yeah, well, Dad collects plugs, doesn't he?" Fred muttered. "Birds of a feather."
"Moody was a great wizard in his time." Bill said. I nodded fervently.
"He's an old friend of Dumbledore's isn't he?" Charlie asked.
"Dumbledore's not what you call normal though, is he?" Fred asked and I laughed. "I mean, I know he's a genius and everything. . ."
"Who is Mad-Eye?" Harry asked interested. "And since when do you wear glasses Elizabeth?"
"An Auror- that's a dark wizard catcher." I said, grabbing another piece of toast and buttering it. "Half the cells in Azkaban are full cause of him. He was great. I know him too, he's a family friend of dad's. I call him Uncle Moody. . . long story. Anyways, a lot of people think he's paranoid because he had a lot of enemies. Family members of the people he put away." I paused and then said, "He's going to be a teacher at Hogwarts this year. But nobody but Dumbledore and Hagrid were going to clap for him when he's introduced. I expect ya'll will clap for him now? I'd hate to be the only student clapping."
"He is?" Charlie asked with renowned interest and a mouth full of food.
I nodded. "Dumbledore wants an Auror at Hogwarts this year and Mad-eyes the best."
"Why does Dumbledore want an Auror at Hogwarts this year?" George asked with interest.
I shrugged but grinned. "Oh gee, I don't know. Maybe it's to keep you and Fred in line this year."
The others laughed, including the twins.
"Nah, but I'm not going to spoil the surprise." I said. "Dumbledore will announce it tonight."
"That's frustrating." George groaned.
"And I've worn glasses my entire life." I said, shrugging. "But I decided I didn't want to wear them anymore and now my left eye's been diagnosed as worse than my right eye so I have to wear them again. Pity."
"They look good." Bill, Charlie, and Fred all said as one, and then scowled at each other. Ginny and Harry snorted into their porridge and Hermione hid a smile behind her book. Ron looked confused. I got up to brush my teeth, my cheeks blushing bright red.
Bill and Charlie decided to come to the train station with us, but Percy didn't, much to my relief. He said, "I just can't justify taking more time off at the moment. Mr. Crouch is really starting to rely on me."
"Yeah, you know what, Percy? I reckon he'll know your name soon." George had said, and we'd all laughed, and Percy had left in a huff.
Mrs. Weasley had called three Muggle taxis. The taxi drivers didn't seem very happy with transporting the animals. Harry, Hermione, and Ron got into one cab. Fred, George, and Ginny got in another and I rode with Bill, Charlie, and Mrs. Weasley in the last cab.
It wasn't a terribly uncomfortable car ride. I was squeezed between Charlie and Bill but neither of them seemed to mind the closeness. To be fair, I didn't mind the closeness either.
On the platform, I saw that Hermione, Ron, and Harry had been severely scratched by Crookshanks and I was glad that I had not been in the cab with them. I loaded my trunk onto a trolley- Bill helping- and we made our way into the trains station.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione went through the barrier first. Fred and George followed, then Ginny and Charlie, then Bill and I. Mrs. Weasley followed from behind. I got onto the train and then put my luggage up where Ron, Hermione, and Harry were and then went back out with them to say good-bye to the others.
"I might be seeing you all sooner than you think." Charlie said, giving Ginny a hug.
"Why?" Fred asked through narrowed eyes.
"You'll see. Just don't tell Percy I mentioned it. . . it's 'classified information, until such time as the Ministry sees fit to release it', after all." Charlie said with a grin.
"Yeah, I sort of wish I were back at Hogwarts this year." Bill said, looking wistfully at the train. I rolled my eyes. Yeah, yeah, chalk it up to sound amazing and then- oh you can't actually compete in it because none of you are seventeen boo hoo.
"Why?" George asked impatiently.
"You're going to have an interesting year. I might even get time off to come and watch a bit of it. . ." Bill said with a twinkle in his eyes.
"A bit of what?" Ron asked, almost angrily.
The whistle blew at that moment. I kissed Bill and Charlie on the cheeks and thanked Mrs. Weasley for letting us stay and then climbed on board. Both Bill and Charlie had red faces and dopey grins on their faces. I rolled my eyes and headed back to the compartment while the others tried to get Bill and Charlie to tell them what was happening at Hogwarts this year.
Ron, Harry, and Hermione came into the compartment a few minutes later. Ron was grumpy and pulled his dress robes out of his locker. I breathed a sigh of relief to see Mrs. Weasley had used my money to buy him a set of maroon dress robes with no lace.
"Bagman wanted to tell us what's happening at Hogwarts, at the World Cup, remember? But my own mother won't say." Ron muttered, throwing his dress robes over Pigwidegon's cage. "Wonder what-"
"Ever heard of a surprise Ron?" I muttered and Harry laughed.
"Shh." Hermione said, pressing her fingers to her lips.
". . . Father actually considered sending me to Durmstrang rather than Hogwarts, you know. He knows the headmaster, you see. Well, you know his opinion of Dumbledore- the man's such as Mudblood-lover- and Durmstrang doesn't admit that sort of riffraff. But Mother didn't like the idea of me going to school so far away. Father says Durmstrang takes a far more sensible line than Hogwarts about the Dark Arts. Durmstrang students actually learn them, not just the defense rubbish we do..."
Hermione got up and closed the compartment door. "So he thinks Durmstrang would have suited him, does he? I wish he had gone, then we wouldn't have to put up with him!"
"Durmstrang's another wizarding school?" Harry asked puzzled.
"Good lord Harry." I said, rolling my eyes and looking up from my book. "How'd you pass your History of Magic test?"
"Yes, and it's got a horrible reputation. According to An Appraisal of Magical Education in Europe, it puts a lot of emphasis on the Dark Arts." Hermione said with a disapproving sniff.
"I think I've heard of it." Ron said vaguely. "Where is it? What country?"
"Norway or Sweden." I said, not looking up from my book. "In the farthest tip of one of the countries, right next to the sea."
"How'd you know that?" Hermione asked suspiciously. "Other students don't usually know where other schools are."
"Er- why not?" Harry asked before I got a chance to explain.
"There's traditionally a lot of rivalry between all the magic schools. Durmstrang and Beauxbatons like to conceal their whereabouts so nobody can steal their secrets." Hermione said.
Ron laughed. "Come off it, Durmstrang's got to be about the same size as Hogwarts- how are you going to hide a great big castle?"
"But Hogwarts is hidden?" I said in an exasperated voice.
"Everyone knows that." Hermione said.
"Everyone that reads Hogwarts, a History anyways," the two of us said together.
"So just you two. Go on- how d'you hide a place like Hogwarts?" Ron asked, smiling.
"It's bewitched." Hermione said. "If a Muggle looks at it, all they see is a moldering old ruin with a sign over the entrance saying DANGER, DO NOT ENTER, UNSAFE."
"So Durmstrang'll just look like a ruin to an outsider too?" Ron asked skeptically.
"Maybe, or it might have Muggle-repelling charms on it, like the World Cup stadium. And to keep foreign wizards from finding it, they'll have made it Unplottable-"
"Come again?" Harry asked.
"Well, you can enchant a building so it's impossible to plot on a map, can't you?" I asked.
"Er... if you say so." Harry said with a shrug.
Hermione eyed me with suspicion and said, "But I think Durmstrang must be somewhere in the far north because they've got fur capes as part of their uniforms."
I glared at her, "Yes, I said Norway and Sweden which are pretty cold countries. They also take a lot of students from Bulgaria."
"How would you know, though?" Hermione said, frustrated. "It's not in any book that I've read."
"I don't know, Hermione." I said, a bit annoyed. "I just know."
Hermione hmphed a little. She was the sort that didn't trust information unless she read it in a book.
Meanwhile, Ron was daydreaming and said aloud, "Ah, think of the possibilities. It would've been so easy to push Malfoy off a glacier and make it look like an accident. . . Shame his mother likes him..."
"Why don't you just tell us what's going to happen at Hogwarts Liz." Harry said, smiling at me and I nearly gave in.
I put my head deeper into the book, "Not happening. Why should I ruin the surprise?"
The sky became horribly dark as we continued to travel and it was getting harder to read my book as the train lights hadn't completely turned on yet. Eventually they did and many of Harry and Ron's friends checked in for a bit of time.
Seamus, Dean, and Neville came in to talk about Quidditch with Harry and Ron. I joined in a little bit, but not much. Neville stayed, even after Seamus and Dean had left. Ron pulled out his Viktor Krum figurine and put it in Neville's hands.
"Oh wow." Neville said enviously.
"We saw him right up close, as well. We were in the top box-" Ron was saying.
"For the first and last time in your life, Weasley." Draco Malfoy rudely interrupted. I briefly glanced up and saw that both Vincent and Gregory seemed to have grown a foot over the summer and then looked back down, uninterested.
I was reading It again. Reading about how Eddie was in the hospital with a broken arm and was talking to his mother about her sending his friends away. And of course, it was written in an old time when girls who hung out with boys were considered sluts because girls weren't supposed to hang out with boys once they turned a certain age. Eddie was asking his mum if she had known that his asthma medicine was just water and mint flavoring and she was debating about telling him that yes, she knew he wasn't actually sick.
"Don't remember asking you to join us, Malfoy." Harry said coolly.
Draco surveyed the room, looking for something to criticize and I was glad once again Mrs. Weasley had bought Ron different robes.
"Going to enter, Weasley? Going to try and bring a bit of glory to the family name? There's money involved as well, you know. . . you'd be able to afford a decent broom if you won. . ." Draco said slyly.
"What are you talking about?" Ron snapped.
"Are you going to enter? I suppose you will, Potter? Or you Kane? You never miss a chance to show off, do you?" Malfoy asked with a sneer. "And what's up with those ridiculous glasses?"
"Nope." I said, flipping a page in my book, sounding as bored as can be. "Dumbledore put an age limit on it. Only seventeen year olds get to compete. And I've always worn glasses, don't you pay attention to anything?"
Draco looked disappointed and then I looked up and gave him a lovely smile and said, "By the way, I've been meaning to ask how long it took for the spell to wear off at the cup the other day. Is your stomach still sore?" I finished off with mock concern.
Harry and Ron laughed.
Malfoy's face turned red with anger and said, "I'll make you pay for that move."
"Lovely, can't wait to kick your ass again." I said, flipping another page.
Draco turned away and stormed off.
"Elizabeth. . ." Hermione said in a warning voice, "Do you have to piss him off every chance you get?"
"Well. . . yeah." I said, closing my book as the chapter ended. "What else am I supposed to do when he's around? Read?" Harry and Ron laughed again. Neville stayed with us for the rest of the time.

lockscreen | t.h.
tom holland x famous!reader
warnings: none just fluff
summary: tom goes on jimmy fallon for a game of 'show me your phone'. being the oblivious child he is, tom forgets about his lockscreen.
wc: 1.4k
Tumblr media
"Welcome back! We're here again with the star of the Spider-Man series, Tom Holland!" Jimmy's announcement drew cheers from the audience. "Tonight, we are going to be playing a game called 'Show Me Your Phone'."
Jimmy went on to explain the game to the crowd as Tom sat across from him patiently waiting. Jimmy pressed on the button first and ended up showing the world that his last photo was a selfie taken minutes ago in the washroom. That gained a lot of laughs. Then it was Tom's turn.
"I'm terrified. I don't even know what's on my phone." Tom shook his hands before firmly pushing the button. It landed on the iMessage icon. "Oh? My last text message convo?" he began to unlock his phone. Eyes skimming over his lockscreen.
"Yup, and once it's locked in, you can't touch it." Jimmy reminded him of the rules as Tom quickly skimmed through his last conversation.
Tom ran a hand down his face before chuckling, "Oh, geez. Alright, some context, I needed help picking a tie for tonight and my mate, Harrison, is nowhere near helpful."
He placed his phone in front of the camera as the conversation appeared for the audience to read.
Tom: haz what tie? red or blue?
Harrison: youre ugly either way
Tom: you look like dolores umbridge. pick a tie ffs
Harrison: mm my babe umbridge. jokes. i'd say purple
Tom: you're gross and no help at all
Harrison: have fun babe the bed is waiting for you
Tom: don't make me puke before i go on the show
Harrison: puke on me daddy
The crowd bursted out into laughter along with Jimmy as Tom covered his beet red face in embarrassment. "He is going to kill me for showing that." Tom was laughing as he spoke.
"That's hilarious! Okay, my turn." Jimmy ended up sharing a voice memo of him reminding himself to do chores around the house.
Tom wiped his hands on his pants before pushing the large button again. It landed on the lock icon. "What does that mean?"
"You have to share your lockscreen."
Tom's posture visibly stiffened at the information given. He wished he had gotten some warning before coming on the show. A caution sign telling him to erase everything on the iPhone.
His lockscreen was a memory. A keepsake. You. A piece of his heart. A reminder of happiness and the loving moments you shared with one another. It was taken a little over a year ago at Zendaya's house for a get-together with a few close friends.
You were propped up on the kitchen island, a wide smile on your face. Tom standing in between your legs with his back to your chest. Your arms wrapped around his shoulders as he tilted his head and placed a kiss on your cheek. Jacob Batalon had captured the moment. A heartwarming interaction that you had both done an outstanding job at keeping under wraps.
You had been dating for nearly two years. How you had managed to keep it hidden for such an extended amount of time was a wonder to everyone who knew, including yourselves. It wasn't that you were both set on no one ever finding out, you just never saw the need to. It was your relationship, only meant to be shared between the two of you.
Tom hoped you wouldn't be mad if the world found out, but he enjoyed the privacy and the feeling of having something that was only his. Something he didn't have to share with the globe. Tom debated on his options. Showing the picture and making headlines for the next week or refusing to do so and ruining the game while making everyone suspicious of him.
The former won.
"Okay, um." Tom nervously let out a laugh, "Surprise?"
With shaking hands, he placed his locked phone on the stand and avoided looking into the crowd as reactions varied throughout the studio. Gasps, cheers, 'aww's, even some screams. Both of his hands shielded his expression from the cameras as he allowed the audience to examine the photo.
"Oh, my god! W-what?!" Jimmy stammered, shocked what his eyes saw, "That's Y/N Y/L/N! A-are you two?" his eyes flicked from the phone to Tom.
Tom nodded slowly, "Yeah, yeah. It is and we are. Nearly two years steady." this intel drew more shocked reactions from the habitants of the studio.
"This is amazing! We love Y/N! But wow, how did no one know?!" Jimmy was still in disbelief.
Tom smiled at your name, "I may be loose-lipped with movie spoilers, but this is proof that I can keep secrets."
Jimmy's mouth was agape, "I have so many questions and you are so lucky that we are out of time."
Tom released a breath he didn't know he was holding as Jimmy said goodbye to the cameras and they stopped recording.
As Tom made his way backstage to head to his hotel, his heart began to beat out of his chest as he thought about your reaction.
-
Lounging on his hotel comforter, Tom pulled out his phone once again and clicked on your contact. m'lady. Pressing the FaceTime icon.
Your bright smile lit up the screen, illuminating his mood like the sun on a stormy day.
"Hello, lover. To what do I owe the pleasure of this late night call?" you chuckled while sitting up against the headboard of your bed, Tessa laying beside you.
Tom couldn't suppress his grin at your presence even if it was through a screen, "Hi, darling. I didn't know if you would be awake. Isn't it nearly three in the morning there?"
You nodded and pushed your glasses up on your nose, "Had to run some lines with Tess before filming tomorrow. She's a great actress." you panned the camera over to the sleeping pup.
"Sometimes I think you're only with me for my dog." he joked with a light laugh.
"Shoot. I thought I had you fooled." you teased back, "Why did you call, bum?"
He scratched the back of neck and avoided looking at the screen. That was enough for you to know that something was up.
"What part of your movie did you spoil this time?" you chuckled.
Tom shook his head with a smile, brown curls flopping on his head, "Nothing about my film, love. More or less about us." he mumbled the last bit, but you heard it.
Your shoulders tensed involuntarily, "I'm gonna need more information than that."
"We were playing a game where you have to show certain things on your phone and I had to show my lockscreen and, well, you know what my lockscreen is." his nerves grew with every second that your face stayed expressionless.
"Okay. How did they react?" you stifled a yawn.
Tom's eyebrows furrowed at your response, "Y-you're not mad?"
You chuckled, "Do you want me to be mad?"
"No, no, no." he quickly protested, "I just didn't know if you were ready to tell the world about us and I'm sorry for not informing you before making that big of a step in our relationship."
You smiled at the caring boy in your life. His thoughtfulness overpowering any negative emotions that could've surfaced. You weren't mad at all. Two years was a long time to keep a relationship hidden especially when both of the parties are well known to the public.
"No need to apologize, mi amor. It was about time everyone found out. Long overdue if you ask me. I would've appreciated a heads up, but I'm not mad." you insisted, and it was true.
Tom visibly relaxed at your words, "The audience was shocked and some gushed and screamed. Can't wait to see the headlines and news articles tomorrow."
"I can see it now: 'Spider-Man Actor, Tom Holland and Actress, Y/N Y/L/N's Hidden Love'." you spoke in a mocking voice making your boyfriend laugh.
"Can't forget; 'All the evidence of their relationship that the public overlooked'." he joked in the same tone as you both laughed together joyously.
Your laughter died down while a peaceful smile lingered on your lips, "I'm glad you had fun tonight. I should get some rest. Need to be in hair and makeup at seven."
He nodded understandingly, "Have fun on set, darling. I'll talk to you later. Goodnight, sleep tight, sweet dreams."
"Goodnight, sleep tight, sweet dreams, lover." you gave a little wave before ending the call.

Waiting for me?
Tumblr media
summary: y/n finds nat bound and gagged, and teases nat and y/n finally lets nat out and steves like wth
not any smut in this
y/n's pronouns: he/him
y/n's powers: turning into a lightning bolt, and fiddling with electricity a bit (hope thats okay)
it was a chill day, thank god. no aliens trying to take over the world, no alarming greasy people with daddy issues, nothing too much out of the ordinary.
steve went on his morning run with sam of course, tony was in his lab, wanda was with vision, and people were doing things(who knows what things), leaving y/n alone. it was odd being alone in stark tower, because you basically lived with a bunch of super children at times, but, eh.
y/n's ink black jeans swished as he made his way to the kitchen.
grabbing a poptart packet and ripping the foil, he put tge strawberry poptarts in the toaster just to warm it up.
"oh glorified katniss everdeen?" y/n called, looking up to the vents. clint was probably watching y/n, who seemed to be the only Avenger awake and going.
"caw caw, bitch." clint said, dropping from the vent.
"watch your damn language!" y/n mocked in a very animated voice.
clint snorted as he leaned on the island.
"where's Nat?" he asked, moving his eyes to grab and apple.
for a moment, all that y/n saw was Natasha. beautiful Natasha Romanoff. Natasha Romanoff was the only woman y/n wanted, no matter how much he flirted with Pepper or Wanda, or any people that want to shake his hand, it was all Nat. the Nat that always had y/n's back if something happened.
"Dunno." and with a shrug, y/n grabbed his poptarts, and went looking for his dark blue luchador mask.
it was in the Training room. That was probably where Nat was.
opening the big door, and shoving the rest of the poptart into y/n's mouth, he marches over to the Big Closet. it was called the Big Closet, because that was how Wanda referred to it the first few weeks after she joined the Avengers, and after that, it was called the Big Closet. opening the door, a surprising sight blessed y/n's eyes.
it was the deadly redhead.
y/n smirked, looking Nat up and down. she was looking up at y/n with slightly pleading eyes.
y/n cleared his throat before speaking. "i thought i'd find you here... not like this... but..." he wolf whistled.
Natasha's glare hardened, but there was a glint of amusement in her eyes that made y/n lean his head against the wall.
"MMM-MM-MMMM!" Nat tried to say.
y/n looked at her, completely still. ''huh? Oh, i should take your gag out, right?" he drawled.
"Mmm-hmmm!'' was the muffled response.
"couldn't you, Natasha Romanoff, deadly assassin, spy, get yourself free, or were you just waiting for me?" y/n murmured, crouching down to get closer to Nat.
ironically, the Training room doors opened, and in walked 'Murica's role model, Captain Virgin.
"oh! hey y/n! wh- nat?" steve asked in that confused tone of his.
y/n didn't move his gaze. "want help, tied up little mouse?" y/n asked, cocking his head to the side.
y/n untied nat quickly.
"did you do that on purpose?" y/n asked.
nat smoothed her hair, but y/n thought she looked amazing either way.
"No... unless your into this." she said looking down.
y/n had never seen Nat so... he couldn't think of a word.
"Are you, Nat?" y/n questioned.
"Um..." The beauty mumbled.
y/n slid his finger under Natasha's chin, and made her look up.
"You're blushing." y/n stated cockily, smirking at the adorable red dusting the assassin's cheeks, nose, and neck.
Natasha swatted y/n's hand away. "I am not." she mumbled.
"You looked-" y/n started.
"Uhm... hero stuff guys.'' Steve mumbled shakily, clearing his throat after speaking.
"Yeah... hero stuff..." Nat nodded, trailing off.
"We'll talk about this later." y/n called, watching the woman of his dreams salute him and walk off.
Steve sighed. "i just wanted to train, good lord."

Part One: The First Meeting
Tumblr media
Summary: Wanda invites you over to the compound for some unwinding girly time, when a man interrupts halfway through, taking something of Wanda's and your heart.
Pairing: Wanda x Reader, beefy!Bucky x Reader
Warnings: Alcohol consumption, beefy!Bucky, stressed reader, fluffs, love at first sight, strangers to crushes? 🥰
Word Count: 1,350
Author's Notes: This is day one of The Week in Love challenge hosted by @the-ss-horniest-book-club, this is my first mini series so I hope you guys enjoy it 🥰
Tumblr media
This week was just sucky, everything about it just sucked. Your boss ended up giving you a hard time at work, overworking you as usual by piling a ton of files on your desk with a strict deadline or the threat of 'you're fired!' and you feared your boss Rumlow may just follow through on it.
Work wasn't the only thing you were struggling with this week, your heating completely broke down and your landlord refused to get it fixed because it wasn't deemed as urgent. It was the middle of winter, a good foot of snow had completely blanketed the streets and sidewalks of New York City, you were left to freeze to death in your apartment and still, it was deemed as not urgent.
To make this week somewhat tolerable, you had been texting with Wanda and had told her just a couple of things that were going wrong and how stressed it was all making you feel. Wanda hated to see her friends upset and stressed, and invited you over to the compound to unwind and stay a couple of days with a promise she would do everything in her power to make sure you have a good time and that you leave in a better mindset.
And, it was exactly how she had promised it would be, warm, safe and comfortable. After she told you to take a hot shower and gave you one of her fluffy white robes, the wine was going down nicely as you cozied up in Wanda's room, giggling and blushing at the erotic scenes from Bridgerton, a Netflix series you were currently binging together.
An evening like this was exactly what the doctor ordered, it had been months since you last saw Wanda because she was away doing her avenging duties. Her celebrity status never played on your mind either, you loved Wanda as your sister and the two of you have been friends for quite some time now. Usually, when Wanda wasn't on missions, she would come and hang out at your small apartment in Brooklyn. But, seeing as you had no heating and in her own words, "your building looks like a run down dump," the compound seemed the obvious choice.
The next steamy scene was just starting when a fist knocked on the door, sending you tipsy ladies into a fit of giggles.
"Come- come in!" Wanda snorts, taking a sip from her drink and sitting up with her back against the headboard, you did the same.
The door opens and so does your mouth - in walks a man who looks like he was carved by the gods themselves. He was a tall, beefy-looking man in skin-tight sweatpants and an off-white tank top with his hair tied back in a messy bun. His left arm glimmers under the mood lighting in Wanda's room and you swear that he's the most beautiful man you've ever seen. Wanda has never mentioned that she worked with gorgeous men before since she always talks to you about Vision.
"Evenin' ladies." The man smiles, his blue orbs meet yours and your heart feels like it's about to jump out of your chest and into his large hands. "Hello." He waves at you, noticing you were staring. Heat creeps up to your cheeks and you wave back shyly muttering a quiet hello back under your breath.
"Evening Barnes, what can I do you for?" Wanda cackles and her joke makes you giggle, he raises an eyebrow and grins.
"Are you two drunk?" He teases, his eyes momentarily flicking to the TV and blushing when he realises what the two of you are watching.
"Maybe a little." Wanda nudges you, a little too harshly that you nearly fall off the side of the bed, this prompts another round of giggles from the two of you.
"Oh well, I've lost my phone charger, can I borrow yours?" He asks politely, smiling at you before Wanda gets off the bed. You subconsciously put down your wine glass and tuck your hands between your thighs under your robe, feeling yourself growing shyer under his sweet gaze.
"I want it back!" She warns, jabbing her index finger in his chest.
"Yes ma'am." He salutes, "you two be good now!" He winks at you before retreating out of the room and closing the door behind him.
When he's gone, you push the air from your lungs and relax your shoulders. Your heart is still racing and his smile is engrained in your memory.
Wanda notices your flushed state and whistles, "my, my. Do you have a little crush already?" She teases, joining you back on the bed and topping up the wine. His presence made you sober up pretty quickly.
"Nooo, I don't know him!" You giggle and drop your head, your smile reaching your eyes.
"His name is James, but he goes by Bucky aaaaaand," she pauses to take a sip, "he's single, like you." She winks, putting her glass down on the bedside table and curling her tired body into yours.
The next morning, you're awake before Wanda and without a hangover. She's still snoring and fast asleep next to you, the air in the room is warm and through the parted curtains, the falling snowflakes makes you smile in contentment.
Pulling the duvet covers back, you reach over into your night bag and pull out your fuzzy socks, your leggings and an oversized sweater. Changing in quicktime, you leave Wanda's room and search for the kitchen for some coffee.
The compound was certainly larger than you expected, there were doors and hallways everywhere. Your head whipped left to right trying to remember which way you arrived last night when she brought you up from the common room after you met Steve Rogers and Natasha. You bite your nails nervously, afraid of stumbling into a room you weren't meant to be in.
A door opens further down the hallway, and your eyes widen. The man who entered Wanda's room last night appears with a yawn, his hand runs up and down his face as he attempts to wipe the sleepiness from his eyes.
Instead of his sweatpants and tank top, he's clad in skintight black jeans to accentuate his thigh muscles, and a black Henley with a silver chain hanging around his neck.
However, his stoic expression turns into a soft smile when he spots you standing there, looking like a deer caught in headlights and dare he say, adorable.
"Good mornin' doll, you okay?" He asks as he gets nearer. Your breath is shaky and you bite your lip when your heart skips a beat again just like last night.
"Um, I'm lost." You chuckle shyly, biting your nail. He slowly reaches out and pulls your hand from your mouth. His touch is electrifying, warm and soft all at the same time.
"Where are you headed?" He clears his throat and shoves his hands in the front of his pockets.
"The kitchen." Your cheeks heat up under his gaze just like it did last night and you're afraid if he keeps looking at you like this, you'll melt into the floor.
"I'm going there too, I can show you if you want..." He trails off and furrows his eyebrows, realising he doesn't even know your name.
"Y/N." You smile, "and yes please, I'd be grateful."
"Y/N." He repeats, your name tasting like drops of honey on his tongue, "I'm Bucky." He pulls his right hand from his pocket, extending it towards you for you to shake.
"It's nice to officially meet you, Bucky." You smile, taking his hand in yours and shaking it. His palm has rough skin, while the back of it is soft and warm.
"Likewise doll, Wanda has talked about you." he blushes putting his hand back in his pocket, "oh and uh, the kitchen is this way." He starts to walk down the narrow hallway, you trail after him, watching his back muscles ripple with each stride in his step.
"I hope she told you good things," you joke, your pace not being able to keep up with him.
"Only the good things, doll." He chuckles before adding, "did you have fun last night?"
"Oh, I did! Very much yes, Wanda has asked me to stay a few nights." He slows down his pace and waits for you to catch up.
"Oh yeah? I'm happy about that." He grins, looking down at you and watches you drop your head to the floor and smile triumphantly.
"I am too." You gaze into each others eyes for a few moments before you look away, knowing you're going to fall fast and hard for this man.
Bucky on the other hand, hasn't been able to get you off his mind since he saw you in Wanda's room last night, the way you became flustered when he looked at you, the shy smile you exchanged. Your smile was the last thing he saw before he closed his eyes last night, and the first thing he saw when he opened them this morning. He only learned your name moments ago, but maybe Steve was right, maybe love at first sight really does exist.

Timothée Chalamet x Reader
𝑷𝒂𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔.
。・:*:・゚
Drizzles of water began coating your body as you rushed to your best friend's porch, hurriedly knocking on the wooden door.
The extra holiday break from school allowed you to spend more time with Pauline, meaning: chaotic sleepovers
“Hello?”
You looked up meeting a pair of green eyes you hadn't seen in a long while. “Timothée?”
Once the slender figure came to the realization of who was waiting at his front step, his mouth went agape mirroring yours.
You both had been close since you were little. You became friends with Pauline in middle school and met Timothée through her. From then on you were a trio and would do everything together, but that all changed.
Him, being three years older than you meant that he'd go to college first and in the end, there would simply not be any time for you both to be together. You did try to hang out once every two weeks but his college was way too far and he needed to spend his time focussing on his studies. It ended in a bad note, with many hurtful words shared.
Before you knew it, Timothée had you in bone-crushing embrace  “I haven't seen you in months, more than a year maybe! God, I missed you.”
“Why didn't you tell me you came back?” you couldn't hide the slight disappointment of him not thinking about letting you know. “I wanted to but I switched phone numbers and my sister wanted me to surprise you instead. I just didn't know I was going to see you this soon.”
Though you both shared your relief in seeing each, there was some strange tension in the air.
“I gotta visit my aunt right now but we should celebrate tomorrow or something.” He suggested, breaking the silence.
“Yeah totally. I'm sleeping over anyways so we'll probably see each other after dinner. Just be careful, the weather seems to be getting worse.”
“Oh yeah of course. If you need some clothes you can get some from my room, they're in a box on my bed. I know that Pauline's clothes are too small for any human being to wear.”
You giggled at his over-exaggeration nodding “Thanks. Stay safe.”
Once the door shut you felt your mood change. It's not like you weren't happy to see him, you were, but not being able to have the same connection you once had made your heartache.
“DJ Paulina in the house mother fuckers!”
You jumped at your best friend's sudden outburst but laughed nevertheless.
“Holy shit, you're wetter than the pacific ocean!”
You roller your eyes “Really? Damn, I wonder why. It's alright though, Timothée allowed me to borrow one of his shirts.”
“Wait you already saw Timothée?”
“Yeah, he just left.”
Paulina grimaced slightly knowing how hard it might've been for two introverts to reunite after a long period of time, let alone after they had a fight last time they were together. She quickly changed the subject not wanting to upset you.
That didn't mean she wouldn't plan on rebuilding your bond.
۵
The snaps of thunder kept you awake and the heavy drops of rain overtook your mind.
As the time pasted you began wondering what would happen if there was a monster under your bed, if a ghost yanked you by your leg, or if the shadow of the hanging coat was actually a person.
Full-on scaring yourself.
And Pauline's sleep talking was not helping the situation.
Both of you spent the day baking, eating and watching movies. Though it's not how most teenagers take up the opportunity of an empty house, it was more than enough for you two.
What was irritating you at this precise moment was the fact that you were exhausted during the day and still are, except you, can't bring yourself to actually fall asleep.
Creaking sounds were heard throughout the room as your feet made contact with the wooden floor.
You grumbled making your way to the kitchen for a cup of fresh cold water.
The bright electronic clock on the stove displayed the time. 2:23 A.M.
You were so dazed and distracted by the clock that before you could fill your glass with water, the cup fell on the counter.
You felt your heart stop the second the loud sound emitted throughout the quiet space, fearing you'd break your best friend's parent's glass. But once you realized that everything was still stable, you proceeded to finish your plan.
“What are you doing still awake?”
Your body jumped at those words. You turned to see Timothée with hooded eyes and slumped figure, clearly more than half asleep.
“Sorry, I'm a light sleeper and the thunder was keeping me awake.”
“Do you want to sleep with me?”
He smiled softly with a droopy gaze
Not gonna lie, initially some inappropriate thoughts crossed your mind, but vanished once you remembered how every time you had trouble falling asleep, you'd get in his bed and he'd make conversation until you fell asleep.
“Sure.”
Timothée was probably too out of it to understand why it had taken you so look to answer, which you were grateful for.
He lazily intertwined your fingers and led you to his room.
It looked the same as before, maybe some items we're missing so he'd be able to decorate his new apartment, but other than that, still the same.
You hesitantly laid down turning your body away from the curly-headed boy. You felt yourself heating up as last time you shared a bed you were a quite innocent 15-year-old, and to be fair you've always seen him as a bother figure.
But two years have passed and he was now 20, it felt like being with a stranger even though he wasn't.
“You alright?”
He mumbled quietly
“Can I ask you something?”
“Go ahead.” You chewed your lip anxiously. You've never been good at confronting people.
“Is there a reason why you got mad at me when you left. All I remember was you telling me how we couldn't be friends because of all the work you had and how you couldn't handle too many things at the same time. But in the end, you suddenly got mad at me and it ended in a huge fight.”
You could tell that Timothée was now fully awake, definitely not expecting you to mention the topic at this time of night.
“Well, in all honestly I knew you wouldn't want to give up on our friendship. I've always seen you as a loyal strong friend and I didn't want to disappoint you by continuously bailing out on our plans.”
Thought his solution was a stupid one, you understood what he meant. You would most definitely get let down many times and eventually get mad at him, even if it wasn't fully his fault.
“I understand. Just-- Just don't do that again. I'd rather have a relationship with you even if we rarely saw each other, instead of not seeing you at all. I miss being with you.”
Timothée's heavy arm hugged you closer to him. So close you could feel his gentle heartbeat against your back.
“I'm not as much of a mess I was back in the first year of college. I have more spare time, even if college is too far we can face time and meet once a month.”
It was nice to witness his change in attitude regarding the situation, he's now more open-minded and optimistic.
“Is that why you seemed so tense when you saw me today?”
You suddenly felt yourself redden from slight embarrassment “I mean yeah. I kinda overreact a lot, but you know that. I didn't even recognize you, you've changed and I didn't know how to feel.”
You felt chest shake from a deep chuckle as you played with his fingers “Is that a good thing?”
He was making you flustered and he knew it.
“I mean, yeah. You look mature for a 20-year-old. When you were 18 you still had your baby face- it's not a bad thing at all, but now you, um, okay I'm just going to stop talking.”
Once again, Timothée's body shook slightly from his laughter which eventually died down.
There was silence once again, the downpour was hitting the window aggressively but managed to make you feel calm. The heat that radiated from the man's body was wrapping you in a warm blanket, his cold breath tickling your neck.
“How do you see me?
The silence was halted by your simple question “What do you mean?” his raspy voice asked, not understanding the question very well.
“Before you said that you saw me as a loyal friend. How do you see me now?”
Timothée turned your body to face him “Well, you've changed as well. You don't look like a little kid anymore.”
You hummed in response staring into his eyes. The moonlight was shining through the window behind Timothée, illuminating his hair, making it look as though he was wearing a halo around his head.
“Has anything interesting happened while I was gone? House renovations, dead grandma, boyfriends..?”
You had to cover your mouth from bursting out laughing “How the hell do you go from dead grandma to boyfriends?”
The boy shrugged his shoulders waiting for an answer “I had a boyfriend for a little while but it didn't work out.”
Timothée nodded for you to keep going
“He treated me differently when we were around his friends, kinda like he didn't want me. We would get into a lot of arguments and I just wasn't happy. So I ended it.”
He took your hand caressing it carefully with his thumb. You knew he was trying to make you feel better though you weren't actually sad about the breakup. You decided not to say anything against it since his action-filled your heart with butterflies.
“He's an asshole for doing that.”
“Yeah well, most of them are.”
There was a small pause in the air before Timothée spoke up again
“I wouldn't do that to you.”
You were taken aback from his sudden confession. You expected him to joke around about some dumb stereotypes.
“If you were my boyfriend, or just in general?” you asked genuinely curious to which he answered:
“Both.”
You being the anxious human being you are, decided to play it off as a joke. Like always.
“Yeah right, you would never date me, you might as well be one of those extra frat boys that-”
“Why would you assume I wouldn't date you.”
You were becoming more and more agitated, not fully grasping the meaning of his words, and why he was now saying it.
“I've always adored you. The reason why I never said anything is because I'm three years older than you and didn't want to make you uncomfortable.”
“Why are you saying this now?” You shuttered out as he moved closer to your body.
“I didn't realize how much I loved you until we separated. Now I'm realizing how much time I wasted.”
Timothée began breathing heavily, his eyes focusing on the different features your face held.
“Would you date me now?”
He nodded, not trusting his voice to speak. “Even if we wouldn't see each other often?”
He nodded once again, this time speaking “I haven't seen you in two years and I still have feelings for you, they won't go away even if I tried.”
Timothée let his fingers gently brush against your lips studying them thoroughly making your mind hazy.
You were so focussed on each other that the background noise was now muffled.
Your mouths were agape wanting one thing and one thing only.
“Can I kiss you?”
He whispered breathlessly. If he wasn't studying you so closely he would have missed your little nod.
But he didn't miss it.
The second the small gesture was caught, was the second his lips made contact with yours.
The kiss was heated and desperate, your eyebrows furrowed hopelessly from the connection. Tongues soon intertwining as Timothée held himself on top of you for better control of the situation. Not giving you room to escape.
You sighed through your nose not being able to break from the kiss, not wanting to break from the kiss.
His front pressed flush against yours, allowing his hands to travel all over your body with no hesitation.
You mumbled Timothée's name against his lips before you broke apart. “Did I go too far?”
You smiled at his worried state “No, I loved every second of it.”
He copied your smile resting his forehead on yours “Sorry, I could help myself.”
He laid on his back before you cuddled to his side, leg wrapped with his and head resting on his shoulder.
Timothée observed your crimson cheeks and swollen lips. He wanted to tease you about it but he knew damn well that he looked the exact same.
Sleep eventually took over you. The soothing sound of the storm was the last thing you heard, and the motion of Timothée's chest calmly rising and falling was the last thing you felt.

I sighed typing away frustratedly at my computer attempting to get my work done for the night. Taking another sip of my wine I looked over to the couch to see my boyfriend scrolling through his phone.
"You know? It must be nice being a paid actor during a pandemic" I spoke catching his attention. A grin began to form on his face as he stood up making his way over to me in the kitchen.
"It has its perks. Can't say the same about you baby" He teased rubbing my shoulders. I rolled my eyes continuing to type away.
"You know you could take a break" He whispered getting near my ear.
"I can't. If I don't get this is by tonight I'm so fired"
"Fine. I'm just gonna go live for a bit. And relax afterwards. I'm pretty busy tomorrow"
"Yes Charles getting to sleep in and doing a live interview late afternoon sounds so exhausting. Meanwhile I have a term paper for English due and on top of that I have to do two more sets of these for work" I spoke holding up my papers.
"For your information I'm going on a hike tomorrow morning. Then I'm going live" He said another deep breath leaving my mouth.
"Aww baby. It's okay"
"Is it though?" I asked frustrated at his lack of sympathy. I love him and all but he seems to forget that his totally normal girlfriend works a 9 to 5 and still goes to college. And as much as I appreciate the times he said he could put in a good word for me with Kenny. I refused to be exposed in the spotlight more than I already was for being his girlfriend.
"I'm sure you can do it. You always do"
"Your right. I'm amazing. I don't know what you'd do without me" I joked trying to lighten up my own mood more than his.
"I don't either. I'd miss you too much" He said placing kisses just below my ear.
"Hmm really? Care to find out Gillespie?" I asked biting my lip. This was my opportunity to get him back where it hurt.
"What do you mean?" I smirked continuing to do my work. Without another word leaving my mouth.
“Baby. What do you mean?" He asked again standing up.
I stayed quiet as he repeated the question a few more times finishing up what I was doing. I had to get through all my stuff for school and work tonight if I wanted tomorrow to go as planned.
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping. Glancing over at the clock I smiled. On schedule. I moved over to the empty spot beside me with a grin. Charlie was really in for it today.
I quickly got up making the bed when my phone suddenly dinged. I smiled seeing it was a good miring text from Charlie himself.
“Good morning my love. Just finished my hike. On my way home with coffee.
“I'll see you in a bit baby" I read aloud. I smiled at the cute detail before continuing on with my plan.
Changing into yoga pants and a sports bra I made my way to the living room setting up for a morning workout. Something I rarely got to do since my second term started and I became ambushed with work. It'd been nearly half an hour before I heard the front door open. The smell of coffee carrying itself through the small apartment.
"Baby your awake" He stated taking in my appearance. No doubt the sweat droplets on my body making me look shiny as hell.
"Yeah. I finished all my work last night so I figured I'd have a day to myself. I did a morning work out and I'm gonna do more things I haven't done in a while" I smiled innocently.
"Mmm am I one of those things by any chance?" He smirked pulling me close. Placing a kiss to my sweaty forehead.
"You wish. Actually I invited y/b/n over. We were thinking of painting to clear our minds"
"Oh but you can't paint looking like this. So sweaty. So wet" He whispered rubbing circles on my hips.
"Yeah I'll probably hop in the shower in a bit" I grinned before pulling away to go finish my workout.
“You know I need to shower too. What if we hop in together? To save water"
"Um I don't know. Can you keep your hands to yourself Gillespie?" I asked bending down in front of him to stretch.
"I can't answer that" He growled coming to stand behind me. As soon I felt his hands on my waist I stood up turning around to face him.
"Tsk Tsk Tsk" I whispered pulling back.
“What baby? Why won't you let me touch you?" He whined.
"Because it's my only free day and I'm going to enjoy it babe" I said placing a chaste kiss on the corner of his lips before walking away.
"Where are you going?" He called.
"To shower"
"Can I join?"
"If you can keep your hands away" I heard him groan as I shut the bathroom door behind me. Giggling to myself I entered the shower washing myself down.
Purposely forgetting to bring in an outfit. Knowing Charlie didn't enter for a reason I called out for him after I was clean.
"Charlie!" I shouted waiting for him to come in.
"Yes baby?"
"Can you bring me some clothes please?”I asked peeking my head out the curtain.
"Can I touch you?" He asked.
"Uh how about no"
"Then no" He said hoping that would get a reaction out of me. It didn't.
"Fine. If you insist" I spoke shutting the water off. Within a matter of seconds I exited the shower. Feeling his eyes piercing through me.
"Close your mouth. Your gonna catch flies" I said wrapping my towel around my body.
"Mm baby you don't know what your doing to me" He moaned out.
"I don't? Or do I?" I asked opening the door further so I could slip past him. Heading to the bedroom I smiled to myself knowing it was working.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Rushing over I peeked through the hole to see y/b/n standing there. Thankful both of our COVID tests came out negative I smiled welcoming her inside.
"Hey y/n/n"
"Y/b/n!" I shouted happy to see her after so long.
"So how's he doing?" She asked knowing all about my plan.
"Not good. I love him I really do but paybacks a bitch. I can't wait til his interview" I smirked walking her to my room.
I was quick to change into a cute matching set with only one of his band shirts layering on top.
"Wow. He's gonna be drooling"
"That's the plan. Thanks for doing this again"
"Its no problem. What are best friends for? Just promise me you'll give me every detail tomorrow. You know after he breaks"
"I promise" I said as we both giggled exiting the room. We made our way towards the living room pulling out the supplies she had brought over for our eventful day.
Y/b/n and I enjoyed each other's company for a while. Catching up on our new quarantine rituals. It wasn't long before Charlie came out of the restroom completely shirtless with only a towel wrapped around his waist. I bit my lip coming back to reality when y/b/n bumped my shoulder.
"Y/b/n. You're here" Charlie said running his fingers through his hair. He knew what he was doing.
"Yeah. I came to spend time with my best friend. Did you see her today by the way?" Y/b/n said taking my hand and playfully spinning me around. I chuckled at her antics realizing she'd done it on purpose to give him a full view of what I was wearing. If something drove Charlie Gillespie crazy. It was me wearing his band tees.
"I didn't. Thank you for that" Charlie spoke sending daggers through me.
"I hope you don't mind. I barrowed your shirt to paint. I can change if you wa-"
"No! No no baby keep it on. It looks amazing on you" He said a small smile playing at his lips.
"Thanks baby. When's your interview?"
"In like 20 minutes. I'm gonna go get ready"
"Sounds good. We'll be on the balcony painting. That good?"
"Of course baby" I smiled walking out on the hard cemented area placing down our stuff.
We specifically chatted those 20 minutes waiting for Charlie to come out of the bedroom.
"I'm going live" Charlie called through the screen door.
"Okay good luck" I called back. I saw him send me a wink before setting up his phone where the sun was hitting him perfectly.
"This is perfect" I whispered to y/b/n as we pulled out our paints.
"I know. I can't believe he set himself up right there" She whispered back. I giggled pulling out the pastel pink from the bag.
"Charlie!" I heard the interviewer shout. My boyfriend clearly estatic.
"Hey man what's up?"
"What's up with me? What's up with you? Your our first cast member of the day. So for starters we wanna know what's up with you?"
"Nothing much man. I mean I've been writing a lot recently"
"Oh yeah can we be expecting any music coming out soon away from the Julie and the Phantoms band?"
"Uh no. That's kind of where I'm at right now which is amazing you know? Working with such great cast and bandmates it's great"
"Sounds like it. So where do you get inspiration from during this whole new situation we're in? It must get boring"
"Uh it does at times when I'm alone. Which is rare since I've been quarantining with my girlfriend. She's amazing company and overall my biggest inspiration"
"Girlfriend? Are you guys at her place or yours?"
"Hers man. I didn't wanna disturb her peace but she insisted and it's just been amazing. I love her" He said my heart fluttering at his words. I looked over at y/b/n to see her smirking at me.
"What about your cast? Do they know her?"
"Oh yeah. Like my family, they absolutely love her which is great. You know their approval means a lot to me so it's nice that everyone gets along with her just fine"
"That's good to hear so moving back to your music" The interviewer continued changing subjects. With his wholesome answers I almost felt bad denying him my touch today. And almost felt bad what I'd be doing next.
Almost.
After about 15 minutes I began to laugh at nothing signalling it was go time. I glanced back see Charlie staring up at us. Clearly trying to focus on the interviewer speaking. Clearly.
"Stop!" I whisper shouted at my best friend who splattered pain on me. I repeated her actions earning a giggle from the girl.
Suddenly I felt a cold sensation hit me. She had thrown our water cup at me in return I splattered more paint towards her. Trying to stay as quiet as possible.
"No yeah thanks man. I had fun" I heard Charlie say. Signifying the interview was nearly over.
"No thank you. Charlie Gillespie everyone. Up next Owen Patrick Joyner!" The man shouted before the living room went silent.
"Done?" I asked turning back to look indoors. The door screen being the only thing between us and the indoors.
"Yeah. What happened?"
"I don't know y/b/n what did happened?" I asked the girl in a teasing voice. Moving back slowly letting the sun hit my body. The white shirt on my body becoming see through.
"Cover up baby"
"Y/b/n doesn't mind right babe?" I asked her.
"Nope. We've been best friends forever Charles. I know her inside out. I also know you should probably get changed out of that"
"Or I could just do this" I replied removing the shirt from my body altogether. I watched as Charlie's jaw dropped in surprised.
"Cute set. Victoria secret?"
"Pink" I answered walking into the living room.
"Huh. I would've never guessed. Oh shoot it's already 5:00 o'clock? I should get going. I have to get to Dylan's house. Do you need help cleaning up?"
"No!" Charlie shouted before I could answer.
"No. We've got it y/b/n. No worries"
"Thanks guys" She smiled pulling me into a hug then Charlie. I watched as he walked her towards the door.
Not knowing which one was rushing more him or her.
"Thanks for coming!" I called out grabbing some paper towels to wipe off the water still on my body.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Charlie asked once the door shut.
"What?" I asked innocently.
"You've been such a bad girl"
“Me?" I asked looking behind me jokingly knowing I was the only one here.
"Teasing me all damn day. Having y/b/n come over to be a cock block. And then pulling that little stunk during my interview"
"I don't know what your going on about Charles. I didn't know y/b/n name was gonna- Ahhh" I squealed feeling his strong arms wrap around me from behind lifting me up.
"Charlie!" I shouted as he carried me towards the bedroom.
"Yes?" He questioned when he put me down on the bed gently.
"Seriously?" I asked ask he removed his shirt.
"Seriously" He confirmed moving in to kiss me. It was gentle at first but that gentleness soon became hunger. From both ends we fought for dominance. Tired of fighting I gave in as he pushed me further up the bed.
"Charlie please" I pleaded beginning to palm him through his jeans. Feeling him get harder by the second.
"Tsk tsk tsk. Not yet" He whispered making me whine. He chuckled before speaking once more in a hushed tone.
"Now are you gonna tell daddy exactly why you teased him all day?" I groaned knowing there was no way of getting out of this one.
"Nope" I said hoping to move on.
"Mm I don't like the sound of that" He said removing his jeans. I moaned seeing his full body. He was too hot for his own good.
"Now are you gonna tell me or should I return the punishment" I internally groaned not in the mood to be teased.
"I-I just feel like you forget sometimes that I have so much on my plate. And maybe sometimes you could be insensitive about it" I muttered the last part hoping he wouldn't hear. But judging by his features softening he had heard every word.
"I make you feel that way?" he asked caressing my cheek.
"Not all the time but yeah sometimes"
"Baby. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry" He mumbled placing soft kisses on my lips.
"I guess I just forget sometimes that you have so much to do. I just wanna spend all my time with you since that's all I have. I also guess offering to pay for things like your college doesn't help either when your girlfriends independent"
"And capable of doing everything on her own. Including paying for her school and home necessities. I mean it's a nice gesture baby but I'd just appreciate it if maybe you could take a step back and realize I'm only human. And not everyone wants to become an actor. I'm studying really hard to get to where I wanna be. And even if I'm working a boring desk job right now I won't be in the future"
"I know baby and I'm so proud of you for that you know that right?"
"Of course Charlie. And I know your my number one supporter just like I'm your number one fan" I said as he placed small kisses on my nose.
"Good....So you did all this today to get back at me?"
"Well yeah I wanted to have fun. But it's no fun when I too need to resist the urge to jump on you when you come out of the shower shirtless"
"Yeah about that I didn't know y/b/n was here or I wouldn't have walked out like that"
"I know baby. But now that we're alone so can we please just-" My words were cut off by his lips once more.
Giggling at his eagerness I began to palm him through his boxers once more.
"You don't know the things you do to me baby" He whispered pulling my bra down letting my breast fall free. I moaned as he began to suck on the left one and toying with the right one.
"God I missed these"
"Charlie please hurry up" I spoke. He didn't hesitate to remove my panties and his boxers immediately lining himself up at my entrance.
"You've been taking your birth control right?"
"Of course you idiot"
"Ooo aggressive much"
"Charlie if you don-" My words were cut off by a moan as he entered me. Not hesitating to start moving at a steady pace.
"Charlie" I moaned wrapping my legs around his waist.
"Faster"
"I'm so close baby"
"Me too" I panted as he sped up. His thrust becoming sloppier by the second.
"I'm gonna-" He groaned being the first to release. My climax coming not long after. I sighed as we rode our our highs together.
"I love you baby" Charlie said standing up and cleaning me off with a t-shirt of his.
"I love you too" I said as he finally came to lay next to me. Pulling the covers over us.
"You do know I really am proud of you right?"
"I don't know I think you need to prove it to me" I halfheartedly joked.
"If you insists" He whispered pulling me in for a sweet tender kiss.
Time slowing down as we spent the night tangled in each other's arms. Enjoying each other's company. Each other's love.

Falling For It Again
It was just another sleepless night for Nagisa. Trying to get his work done just before the deadline. Again. He wishes he'd find himself a less restrictive and time-constraining job, but it pays really well, and securing his child's future was the main goal to him. He's already tolerated much, much worse workspaces anyways.
Downing another cup of coffee as the clock struck 11:30pm, his attention was directed to the fact that there wasn't any coffee left at all in the mug. Great, now he had to get up and make another brew... he really should find another alternative to caffeine, it felt like the effects of keeping him awake wasn't as effective anymore.
Sighing to himself, he stood up, not forgetting to stretch a little before going over to the kitchen to make himself his fourth cup for the night.
That is, until he was distracted by the noise of cups being moved around, shelves being opened from inside it... what was in there? If it's another one of those rodents, he really hated having to deal with-
"Uwah, father!"
Oh. It was just them... what's his child up to at a time like this? He certainly didn't raise his kid to be the type to stay up for hours, he knew too well the consequences that come from that.
"What are you doing still awake at night? You haven't forgotten that you still have school tomorrow, have you?"
"No, no! Actually, it's been on my mind all day... school, that is."
Hm? What was this about? Something from school was keeping them awake? Could it be another exam? Or some sort of school bully?
... Nagisa grit his teeth at the thought of the latter possibility. He really wasn't going to hesitate getting involved if that was what was going on.
"Come on then. Let's talk about it in the couch. ... Up you go."
He picked the child up by the back, carrying them all the way to the living room sofa. Admittedly, Nagisa wasn't exactly having an easy time carrying an entire kid around, but seeing as how much they liked it whenever someone else lifted them up, he thought he'd try anyways.
... Even if he was a little out of breath by the time he actually got them to the sofa.
"... Hf. So, what's been on your mind? And please be honest with me. I don't mind you keeping secrets from me if they're embarrassing, but be as transparent with me as possible if the issue is serious."
"W-Well... um... w-what does i-it mean when... whenever you're close to s-someone, and you get this... weird f-feeling in your heart...?"
... What?
"Could you... explain that a little better?"
"What I-I mean is, um... there's this p-person in my class that... w-whenever I'm with t-them, I get a-all soft and my brain t-turns off... I also f-feel really hot too..."
Oh. Ohhh. Yeah, okay.
So even his own kid was as much of a hopeless romantic as he was... good lord. Nagisa really wishes some of the less embarrassing traits that he had when he was young didn't get passed on to his offspring, but well, he figured that it's at least proof this kid really is his.
How was he to go about this...?
Seeing his child hide their flustered face away with their hands, he just chuckled a bit and started patting them on the head.
"That's a special feeling. It's a similar feeling to what me and your mother have."
"Like you and mother...?"
"Well, yes. Though it's a lot more complicated than that. You and your mother are the most important things to me. Really, I'd say that having that feeling for your mother, which resulted in you being with me right now... it's the only time I've done something right."
He cleared his throat as soon as he saw his kid look at him with confusion, wondering what the hell he was getting all monologue-y for. Why was he talking about this to his kid anyways?
"A-Anyways. What you're feeling right now is completely normal. There's nothing to be ashamed of. I was just like you when I was your age, you know."
"R-Really? Father was called a hotpot my age too when the other kids saw me like this?"
"Aha, well... their words were a little more creative than that. But yes, I was just as lost back then as you are now."
He started playing around with his child's cowlicks, continuing to speak.
"Really though, if you want my advice, I'd say just spend more time with that person, times like these won't last forever, so make the most of it. You'll find out your answer eventually."
"It won't last forever?"
"Well, yes. You can't stay young forever. Someday you'll be just like me, old and wishing to be your age again. You like that person, right? Then it should stand that being with them will make you happy. Opportunities for happy memories should never be passed on. So just have fun and relax."
The child just nodded in silence, a more encouraged smile on their face now, but their father looked away for a moment, seeming rather conflicted and nostalgic... before looking back at the kid with a more serious look in his eyes.
"With all that said though... if you ever, ever feel like you're being used by this person and they're using your feelings for them for their own gain... you need to let those feelings go. I was very thankful your mother didn't end up like her as our relationship went on..."
"Her?"
Nagisa caught himself slipping, quickly recomposing himself to hide away the rather bitter feeling he had in his face.
"Ah, nothing. The point is, don't let others take advantage of you liking them for their own gain."
"Okay... I think I can get it."
A smile on Nagisa's face found itself curling up in pride.
"Good. But again, just live in the moment and enjoy yourself. You're a smart child, I'm sure you can handle it."
"You think I'm smart...?"
"Smarter than me."
He gave a slightly bigger smile, ruffling the child's hair as he sighed, looking at the clock. It was almost midnight now.
"Now then, get on back to bed. You still have school tomorrow, and well, if anything, I don't think this person you have feelings for would want to hang out with someone who has dark circles around their eyes."
"Wha?! That happens if you stay up?!"
"Mhm. Best you be a good child and not stay up, then? Now come on, let me take you to your room."
Rubbing the child's head again, he picked them up to give them a piggy ride back to their room, though he'd only hope that the young Shingetsu didn't notice his breathing get heavier and heavier...

"Hey Loki, mind if I ask you a question?"
Casey and Loki were eating lunch in the TVA cafeteria, as they regularly did. Loki was still surprised at how Casey had somehow grown fond of him, where many people kept their distance. Which he couldn't blame them for, given his past.
So he was enjoying these moments with Casey.
"Since when do you need to ask?"
Casey looked a little hesitant, "well, it's a little bit of a personal question."
"Go on and shoot." Loki replied, curious as to what the man was going to ask him.
"Ahem... you and Mobius are together."
"I think that's obvious, since we don't hide it."
"Yeah, yeah, and so considering it's been over a year, um... I guess... you guys have dated already... and uh... I have a hard time imagining what you and Mobius can do on a date." Casey paused, his cheeks on fire before continuing, "No, forget it. I should never have asked you something like that."
Loki shook his head and laughed, "No, no, I have no problem talking about this. You're talking to someone who didn't even know what a date was until a few months ago..."
Loki straightened up a bit in his chair and continued talking, "Looking back, I'd say our first date took place here."
"Here?"
1.
After their return from Pompeii, Loki had fallen asleep in the middle of their research. Mobius had woken him up and taken him to the cafeteria. Thinking back, even if at that moment they were not together, for Loki it was still a first date.
There were only them in the cafeteria, the light was rather dim, which had given even more of an impression of intimacy and in addition there was the close way they were sitting, their legs touching.
Loki remembered perfectly all the details of that moment.
Those few minutes of respite, where they had gotten to know each other, or rather where Loki had gotten to know Mobius.
"By the way, at your desk, that magazine?"
"Yeah. The one on jet skis?"
"Yes. Why do you have that?"
"Because they're awesome."
There was something touching about Mobius as he spoke of his passion, a passion he had never practiced.
"So, why read about them?"
"It just helps remind me of what we're fighting for."
"I mean, you really believe in all this stuff, don't you?"
"I don't get hung up on, "Believe, not believe." I just accept what is."
He was surprised by what followed, not by the content, because it was clear that Mobius really believed in the cause he was working for, but he was surprised that Mobius did not feel attacked, that they both left the dialogue open, without judgment.
"Actually it's exactly the same thing. Because if you think too hard about where any of us came from, who we truly are, it sounds kinda ridiculous. Existence is chaos. Nothing makes any sense, so we try to make some sense of it. And I'm just lucky that the chaos I emerged into gave me all this... My own glorious purpose."
Mobius' arguments, in the context in which Mobius lived, had held up surprisingly well.
They had not agreed, but they respected each other's opinions. If not for the context, of Loki in captivity of sorts, and the lie upon which the TVA had been built, the evening could almost have ended in "My place or yours." Because undoubtedly they had gotten closer at that point.
So yes, it was indeed for Loki their first date and that's what he told Casey.
**********
"Honestly Loki, I have to say that this is an original first date, but ultimately a true reflection of your couple." reacted Casey with a wink before continuing, "but now I'm curious what your other dates were like, if there were any at all."
Loki laughed softly, "Oh there were, many. Mobius, knowing that the concept of a date was totally unknown to me, redoubled his creativity and used this pretext to make me live all sorts of unknown experiences."
"You don't want me to feel sorry for you, do you?"
Loki smiled again, "Oh no, I have nothing to complain about at all. I'll tell you the most memorable ones for me. One of them was a picnic."
"Oh?" Casey's eyes sparkled with interest, as he settled down to listen to Loki's tale.
2.
Loki was reading on the couch when Mobius hugged him from behind, kissing the top of his head.
Then Mobius had said in his ear, "Sweetheart, don't be scared, I'm going to blindfold you, because I'd like to take you somewhere and keep it a surprise until the end."
Loki trusted Mobius completely so it was easy for him to agree.
"I'm really curious though."
Once the blindfold was tied, he felt the light caress of a kiss on his lips and Mobius took his hand.
He let himself be guided.
He heard the typical sound of a timedoor appearing, and then letting himself be pulled by Mobius' hand, he recognized the usual sensation that accompanied the crossing of the door.
He felt a difference in the ground under his feet, like grass perhaps.
Deprived of sight, his other senses were alert, so he also felt the warmth of the sun on his face and the smell of flowers reached his nostrils, while he heard birds chirping around them.
Mobius was now holding him by the elbow and guiding him gently.
"You still okay, sweetheart?"
Loki simply nodded, a smile on his face because he could feel the excitement in his lover's voice.
After a while, Mobius stopped him, and made him sit slowly on the floor, on something soft. Then Mobius gently removed the blindfold.
Loki's eyes adjusted to the radiant light even though they were in shadow, and he took in the sight.
77_Frigga... the little planet Mobius had already taken him to when Loki had told him he missed the starry skies of Asgard.
Loki looked around, he was sitting on a blanket spread on the ground, under a tree that while providing shade, did not deprive them of the beautiful light. They were in a field of flowers, the same paradisiacal vision as on their first visit here. Mobius sat next to him and clearly waited for his reaction.
Loki leaned in and put his lips to Mobius', letting him know in a slow, passionate kiss how much he enjoyed his surprise.
Mobius turned to a basket that Loki hadn't noticed and began to pull out everything needed for a perfect picnic.
"Did you pack all this?" Mobius nodded his head and Loki kissed him gently again.
They enjoyed the meal peacefully, chatting about everything and anything. Once the leftovers were put away, Loki lay down on his back, his head on Mobius' lap
"Thanks love, that was amazing."
Mobius, a little embarrassed, leaned over and kissed him tenderly.
They had finished the afternoon while enjoying the heavenly surroundings and each other's presence.
**********
Loki lost in his memories, was brought out of his reverie by Casey's whisper of admiration, "Aww, Mobius is really dedicated, you know you are lucky right?"
"Don't worry Casey, I'm totally aware of how lucky I am."
This reminded him, another original date, another surprise from Mobius that he was quick to tell Casey about
3.
Sounds from the kitchen woke Loki from his sleep. He stretched, shivering because the sheet had slipped down to his waist.
"You're awake."
Loki looked up to find Mobius smiling at him, standing by the bedroom door, dressed in just sweatpants and a t-shirt, his longer hair still disheveled and a budding beard. A perfect view to start the day, in Loki's opinion.
What caught his eye was the tray in his hands.
Mobius moved closer, carefully perching himself on the bed and balancing the tray on his lap.
"I wanted to surprise you." Mobius smiled, offering the tray to Loki and laughing affectionately as he watched him contort himself to sit up. "Breakfast in bed or let's call it a breakfast date. I thought it would be a nice change, since it's our day off."
Loki's mouth suddenly watered between what he saw and what he smelled.
Usually they had a light breakfast, but on days off, getting up later, breakfast also served as lunch.
On the tray was a plate of bacon and eggs, buttered toast, a small pile of pancakes covered in syrup, a large glass of orange juice, and an assortment of fresh fruit.
"Oh Love, you spoil me." said Loki, a piece of pancake already in his mouth.
Mobius shakes his head with a small laugh. "I always want to spoil you."
Loki leaned forward to capture Mobius' lips in a sweet kiss. Mobius took the opportunity to sneak his hand through Loki's hair and pulled him to him while being careful not to flip the tray.
When they separated, Loki was out of breath.
"Let's eat."
Mobius sat next to Loki, the tray resting on their knees. They ate breakfast, talking, feeding each other.
Later, Loki hummed over one last incredibly delicious bite, his head resting on Mobius' shoulder.
Definitely, this dating concept was quite interesting.
*********
"Okay Loki, thanks to you, now I'm hungry." Casey paused for a moment and then resumed staring Loki up and down, "But I wonder where you put it all..."
Loki replied with a mischievous smile, " Workout, Casey, workout..." His impish look left no doubt as to what kind of workout he was referring to.
Casey pretended to cover his ears. "I don't want to hear about it!"
Loki chuckled, "Too bad you won't hear about another memorable date of ours."
Casey, calmed down, too interested in what was next.
4.
"Uh, wow, that's... that's gorgeous." said Loki, looking around their living room.
The entire room was bathed in a soft glow from a multitude of small candles, scattered here and there.
"Do you like it?" the voice of Mobius whispered in his ear as his lover took off his jacket, before hugging him from behind.
"Hmm." Loki nodded in the embrace.
"I figured we both needed a little break, are you hungry?"
"I'm starving." replied Loki turning his head to drop a kiss on Mobius' cheek.
His lover directed him to the table that Loki had not noticed, perfectly set, bathed in soft light, and garnished with two steaming plates and glasses of fresh wine.
Mobius gallantly pulled out the chair for him to sit on and took a seat opposite him.
They began to eat, discussing their day, their work, and all the while hardly letting go of each other's hands that were entwined on the table.
Then after the dessert, Mobius got up, took the remote control of the music system and a soft music invaded the atmosphere. Under the eyes of Loki, he approached him and offered his hand, « May I have this dance, sweetheart?"
Loki nodded, smiling softly, and took the outstretched hand. Mobius immediately wrapped his arms around him and they began to sway to the soft notes coming from the speakers.
Loki sighed with contentment, his face buried in Mobius' neck.
They must have looked like the epitome of sap and fluff, but at that moment, Loki didn't care. This was them, here, in the privacy of their lives. Their happiness.
They continued to sway for long moments, so absorbed in each other's presence that they didn't notice that the music had stopped.
**********
"Loki... you know I just feel like I'm listening to a digest of all the romcoms out there?"
"Romcom?"
"Romantic comedy.Haha I know something you don't."
Casey laughed cheerfully at Loki.
"Very funny, but do you know what karaoke is?"
"Yep... I'll remind you, since the fish thing, I've been catching up, and I'm learning every day. So what about karaoke?" Casey frowned for a moment and then exclaimed, "No! Karaoke? Who? Mobius or you? Or both?"
Loki chuckled at Casey's excitement.
"Mobius came up with the idea for the date, but I did the singing.
"Tell me about it!"
5.
"Mobius..."
Loki stood on the stage of the small bar, and pointed to his lover leaning at the bar, "Mobius, my partner, brought me here because he dreams of hearing me sing in my native language for him. No one will be able to say I don't like to satisfy my beloved." He blew a fingertip kiss to Mobius under the whistling and wolf howls of the customers. He waved to the DJ and the music started to play. He began to sing in Asgardian, the words and notes flowing naturally on his tongue.
So many people around me without a meaning or a goal
It's always someone left
Tell me, why does it always be like that
Someone from up above must have seen me
And yet thought that it's his turn,
my turn to meet someone who knows what I need
it seems like my lonely days
For its always gone
As he sang this, he began to walk towards Mobius, his eyes in his. He saw the understanding in Mobius' eyes, who, understanding perfectly all languages, grasped perfectly the meaning of the song for Loki and him.
For I have the heaven around the corner
My own angel in a bed
As if all the heavens tiny stars
Sang for me, sang for you
In a wonderful refrain
You are the heaven
around the corner for me
When he reached the end of the song, Mobius' eyes were filled with emotion.
As soon as the last note came out of his mouth, Loki hugged Mobius and kissed him, ignoring the cheers and applause of the customers.
When they separated to catch their breath, Mobius asked him, his forehead against his, in a joking tone, « Am I your own angel?"
Loki grasped his head in his hands and replied seriously, his mouth against his, "You are Mobius. You are the angel that brought me out of my darkness. You saved me from myself." Then he captured his lover's lips again, putting into the kiss all what Mobius meant to him.
**********
"Loki, I think I'll be fine, I think I've had my fill of sweets for the day, if not for the next month. If I get diabetes, you'll be responsible for it."
Loki laughed again and shrugged, "Hey! You're the one who wanted it."
"Well, at least you have a lot of work to do to be on the same level as him, because apart from the karaoke, he still made the most effort."
Loki smiled cheekily, "Hm, I think I made up for it with our one-year anniversary date, but since you don't want any more sweetness... I'll shut up."
Casey pointed his fingers at him, "Ah no Mr. God of Mischief, you're not getting away with this!"
Loki surrendered and began his last tale.
+1
This time it was Loki who had surprised Mobius by blindfolding him and leading him through a timedoor.
When they reached their destination, he slowly untied the blindfold, "You can open your eyes, love."
Mobius opened his eyes and gasped. Then he laughed softly.
Loki hugged him from behind and whispered in his ear, "Happy Anniversary my love. It was here a year ago that I started to fall in love with you."
They were in the TVA cafeteria. Alone, because Loki had made sure of that.
A table, THE table was elegantly set.
Mobius let himself be guided by Loki, who said softly, "I know it's unconventional, that we weren't a couple yet, not at all, but-"
He could not continue, Mobius had closed his mouth with a tender kiss.
Pulling back, he placed a finger on Loki's lips and replied, "Don't justify yourself.First of all, since when are we conventional?" he raised an eyebrow before continuing, "Secondly, you weren't the only one who was already feeling something at that moment sweetheart."
It was he who pulled Loki to the table.
They sat there, almost the same way they had that day, their knees touching in a familiar way. But this time the rest of their bodies were close. They shared the meal, interspersed with renewed oaths, smiles and casual conversation. Just savoring the joy of being together.
Mobius noticed, however, that the closer they got to the end of the meal, the more excited Loki seemed, almost as if he couldn't wait for the dinner to end. So much that once the last bite of dessert was swallowed, he stood up and bounced over to Mobius and held out his hand.
"Our night is not over, I have one more surprise. Can I put the blindfold back on you?"
Amused and intrigued by Loki's excitement, Mobius nodded.
Loki tied the blindfold behind his head, placed a kiss on his forehead and took his hand.
He felt them pass through a timedoor again, then suddenly felt a great warmth around him. He recognized Loki's magic that passed over him, and suddenly felt warm sand under his naked feet.
The blindfold came off and he let his eyes adjust to the light.
For the second time that evening, he gasped, and then almost cried with emotion at the sight before him.
He realized he was in a bathing suit when Loki made him put on a life jacket. Then his lover gently pushed him towards the jetski that was waiting for him at the end of the pontoon. "Go my love, go..."
He moved forward a few steps and then turned back to Loki who was looking at him with a loving smile. "And you? Don't you want to come?"
"You deserve to have your first round alone, don't worry, I'll be there."
Winking at him, Loki pointed to two lounge chairs under an umbrella.
"Go my love."
Loki went backwards to settle on the deckchair and with a cocktail in hand, he did not leave the eyes of his lover who listened to the instructions of the instructor before finally making his first ride of jet-ski.
Long minutes later, he saw Mobius coming towards him, a bright smile on his face, he whispered again, "Happy Anniversary my love."

Dear Aimee,
I am wide awake. I've just gotten good at not really moving or breathing.
Being stuck in a survival bunker with a bunch of people who have all found their soul mate is less than ideal.
Karen and Ray got together a few months ago, so they're still kinda in their honeymoon phase. It is super physical. Good for them, you know. They're both very attractive and apparently quite flexible.
Hey, life's short. Especially down here.
After Tim's parents were eaten by a warm of termites, he and Ava became inseparable. In every way.
So pretty much everyone's coupled up down here besides me and Y/N. We're the singles of the bunker and I don't know how I would survive by myself without her. Having your best friend stuck down here with you helps a lot.
Our first baby was born last winter. It was super emotional. Welcome to the apocalypse, kid. The food sucks. At least you'll never know what you're missing.
Kala and Connor got together after Carol died. Carol was a cow who ate a box of laundry detergent and now we only have one cow. Her name's Gertie. Gertie is great. Y/N named her actually and every time someone uses the name she gets this goofy grin on her face that's hard for anyone to not smile back at.
Gertie's not our only food source. We actually have a hunting party that brings back whatever they can from the surface. It was easier in the beginning, you know, before we ran out of bullets. Facing down one of those things with a hanky handmade weapon is no walk in the park. Or that's what Robin tells me. I-I don't go on the hunting parties. They need me in the kitchen. I'm kinda the, uh. . .the chef of the bunker. Everyone likes my minestrone.
Me and Y/N being the only single people in the bunker has its perks too. We get to hang out with Mav1s. Of course, she's not much for conversation anymore. Her core battery's shot, just like every other Mav1s, I'd imagine. Actually never seen a working one.
Other than that, it's become our favorite pass time to mess with the other couples. Or at least that's what Robin does. I kind of just cheer her on.
Sure wish you were here, Aimee. I'd love for you to meet everyone and become closer with Y/N. Maybe we could do a little target practice together.
It's kinda my thing.
- - -
Y/N had been in the middle of dreaming about killing a monster when something began poking her face and pulled her from her slumber. Letting out a groan, the girl turned her head towards her pillow in an attempt to hide her face, but the person was persistent and instead began poking the back of her head instead.
"Joel," Y/N whined in annoyance earning a soft chuckle from the boy as he continued to poke her head. "Joel, I swear if you don't stop poking me right now I'm going to drag you out of this bunker and feed you to the nearest cold-blooded creature."
The poking stopped instantly and she slowly turned her face and let her eyes flutter open for a second to see Joel smiling at her in amusement. "Seven years underground and you still aren't a morning person," he mused.
Y/N groaned and fell further into her pillow as she closed her eyes once again. "I don't think I'll ever be," she muttered, her voice trailing off a bit at the end as sleep tried to take over once again.
"Hey, I just woke you up. Don't go back to sleep," Joel insisted as he reached out to poke her again. However, Y/N was quick to grab ahold of his finger and stop him without even having to open an eye.
"Don't poke me," she told him before letting go of the boy. "I'm tired, Joel. I don't have to see the sun to know it's still shining on the other side of the world. It's too early."
"Actually, it's not too far away from dawn," Joel said earning a groan from the girl because it was in fact too early. The boy frowned and gently nudged her as he rested his head on the edge of her bed. "Come on, Robin. I can't sleep and as my best friend it is your job to keep me from doing anything stupid while I'm awake. You can't exactly do that while sleeping, can you?"
"Joel," Y/N complained.
"Y/N," Joel mimicked. Y/N frowned slightly and Joel sighed before looking away as he got lost in thought. Finally he let out a small gasp and nudged the girl again, a smile appearing on his face, "I'll make you breakfast."
Y/N peeled open an eye at that, flickering her gaze over the boy's eager face before hesitantly saying, "Throw in a piggyback ride all the way to the kitchen and you've got yourself a deal.”
"Deal!" Joel exclaimed as he reached out to grab her hand and shake it. Y/N let out a soft sigh, knowing she was going to regret waking up, but pulled herself up out of bed and let out a yawn. Joel was practically bouncing from foot to foot due to his impatience and Y/N just ignored it as she sat up for a moment longer before looking to Joel.
"Okay, I'm ready," she said and the boy quickly turned around. Y/N lazily got out of bed before slowly getting onto Joel's back. He made sure she was on securely and waited until she had her arms wrapped around his neck and her head tucked into the crook of his neck before he was practically running out of the room.
"Woah! Slow down!" Y/N exclaimed as she almost went toppling off of his back from how bumpy the ride was. Joel slowed to a walk and looked back to her with an apologetic smile while she just rolled her eyes. "You're lucky you're my best friend," she muttered, propping her elbow against the boy's shoulder in order to keep herself up right.
"You know you love me," Joel retorted and Y/N let out a soft sigh for she knew the boy was right. He just didn't understand the kind of love she had for him.
The two were about halfway down the hallway when they suddenly passed a door that was wide open. "Hey, Joel! Hey, Y/N!" a fellow colony member of theirs named Ava greeted.
The best friends turned their heads and instantly looked away, their faces red while Y/N hid her face against Joel's neck once again. "Oh. Hey, Ava," Joel said, coughing awkwardly as he held onto Y/N a bit tighter and tried to ignore the fact that he just saw Ava and her boyfriend Tim being intimate.
"Ava," Y/N greeted.
"Joel. Y/N. How's it going?" Tim asked.
"It's going good, Tim," Joel responded, attempting to hide his small smile as Y/N just shook her head, obviously embarrassed. "How are you. . .How are you doing?"
"Yeah, good," Tim replied.
"Good," Y/N muttered as she sat up a little more and just leaned against Joel's shoulder. "Uh, we were just. . .um. . .heading to the kitchen. Joel here couldn't sleep, so now here we are." She let out an awkward laugh and Ava and Tim returned it.
"Yeah, we know the feeling," Ava told her and both Joel and Y/N made a face.
"Yeah. Probably not for the same reasons," Joel muttered. "Y-You guys's, uh, door's open. Is that. . .did you know that?"
"Yeah," Ava admitted at the same time Tim said, "Yeah, we know."
Both Y/N and Joel didn't move before Joel muttered awkwardly, "Okay." A silence fell among the group after that and Y/N could just feel herself growing more uncomfortable by the second and it was obvious Joel was too.
"Batman, away!" Y/N exclaimed, pointing towards the direction of the kitchens in hopes that they could get away from this situation as quick as possible. Joel chuckled softly and shook his head before bolting off down the hallway making the girl yell at him.
Joel didn't slow down until they were in the kitchen, setting the girl down in a chair before moving across the room. "This better be the best breakfast you have ever created after putting me in that sort of position," Y/N told him. "This is why you sleep at night, so you don't have to see or hear what the others are doing when the lights are out."
Joel just waved her off with his hand and Y/N craned her neck in an attempt to see just what he was doing, but the boy merely moved his body each time so that she couldn't see. "Joel!" Y/N complained, but the boy was already turning around, his hands behind his back as he grinned at her.
She fell silent almost instantly, the grin making her heart skip a beat while she watched him stop on the other side of the counter. "You ready?" he asked and Y/N nodded her head eagerly, her stomach growling at the thought of food. Joel's smile widened and he quickly took his hand out from around his back and slammed an apple onto the table in front of her.
Y/N stared at the apple with a blank look on her face before scowling up at her friend. Joel just smiled and leaned his arms on the counter before he shrugged, "I never said what I was making you for breakfast."
"You didn't make anything," she pointed out, grumbling softly to herself as she grabbed the apple and took a bite out of it. "You tricked me."
"Hey, but look on the bright side," Joel told her and the girl raised an eyebrow. "Now that you're up, we can spend more time together and I don't have to be alone!"
Y/N made a face before looking to her apple and chuckling as she took another bite. "Well, joke's on you because today's planning day," she said, her words making Joel frown because he knew that planning day meant she would be with the hunting crew all day and not him.
"But planning day was last week," Joel complained.
"It was actually last month, but nice try," she replied with a smug smile on her face.
"Can't you skip it? I was wanting you to help me with my aim. I'm using the tips that you said, but it would be different if you were actually there to help," Joel said.
"I'm sorry, Joel, but I have to go. I have to pull my weight somehow," Y/N reminded him.
"Then at least let me help out. I don't do anything around here except make shitty minestrone," Joel sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration and not noticing the way Y/N’s eyes seemed to follow the action.
Y/N set the apple down, rolling her eyes slightly when Joel picked it up and angrily took a bite out of the other side. "First of all, your minestrone is heaven, so never refer to it as shitty ever again," she told him. Joel just looked away and Y/N sighed before reaching out and setting a hand on top of the boy's arm. He hesitantly looked her way and she offered him a small smile. "I know you may think you don't do anything to help out around here, but you do, Joel. You help out in more ways than you may think."
Joel looked away and bit into the apple again. "You're just trying to make me feel better and I appreciate it, but we both know I don't do anything," he muttered. "Not anything important anyways."
"Joel," Y/N began but the sound of someone yelling her name made her fall short. She glanced in the direction of the voice, putting together who was calling for her and why. It was planning day after all and those days always started at dawn so that they could get some training out of the way before mapping out their next hunting trip.
Sighing, Y/N looked back at Joel and gave his arm one more squeeze. "That's my cue to leave," she said, pulling herself up out of her chair. The girl began to make her way towards the door before pausing and looking back at Joel who was just staring at the table with the half eaten apple in hand.
Before Joel knew what was happening, Y/N was jumping on him from behind, her arms wrapping around his frame for a quick hug as she kissed his cheek and said, "Have a great day, Joel. I'll see you later for lunch, okay? Love you." She then slyly stole the apple from him and winked in his direction before running out of the room as her name was yelled out once again.
Joel couldn't help but smile as he watched the girl leave, ignoring the way his heart seemed to skip a beat which was unusual for him.
"Love you too," he whispered.

Y/N stared at the map in front of them with a contemplating look upon her face. She was resting her head on her hand and gently tapped her finger against her cheek while her eyes flickered over the marks they had already made.
"Why don't we try over here?" Y/N suggested, pointing towards the section that they had already marked off as 'Do Not Enter.'
All eyes turned to her almost immediately and Connor shook his head. "Y/N, you know why we don't go over there," he told her, referencing the incident where half of their hunting squad got killed, but the girl was persistent.
"That was back when we were just beginning our second year down here. We're more prepared now," Y/N told them. "Every time we go hunting, we stay close enough that we can run back to the bunker if needed. We can't keep living like this. I mean, aren't you guys a little bit curious as to what it's like out there?"
There was a unanimous, "No."
Y/N frowned and looked back down at the map, her fingers now brushing across the small area she had been pointing at while the others all watched her. “Y/N," Anna Lucia sighed, walking over to the girl's side and placing a hand on her shoulder. "There are so many unknowns out there and you know that. What if we go out there and our whole hunting party gets eaten by those monsters? What would the others do?"
"Live off Joel's minestrone," Y/N suggested before sighing and looking towards her friend. "But what if we don't die? What if this opens up a whole new world for us?"
Anna Lucia squeezed the girl's shoulder before whispering, "We can't risk it."
Y/N frowned and looked away while Anna Lucia let her hand fall back down to her side. "Anna Lucia's right except for the being able to live off Joel's minestrone thing. I'm pretty sure he'd be out there trying to avenge you before even thinking about making minestrone," Tim spoke up.
"He wouldn't be stupid enough to do that," Y/N assured them.
"He'd be reckless enough," Connor retorted. Y/N gave him a look and the man sighed, "Seriously, Y/N? When are you two just going to grow a pair and tell each other how you feel?"
Y/N blinked in surprise, a light blush taking over her features as she looked around at her friends who were all smirking. "W-What?" she whispered.
"Gosh, you're insufferable sometimes," Anna Lucia muttered jokingly. "It's obvious that you like him and he is your best friend who is also the only one that's still single down here."
"Joel and I—" Y/N hesitated, the thought of actually being with Joel like that making her heart flutter. "We're just friends," she insisted before giving them all a sad smile. "We won't be getting together."
"It's only a matter of time," Anderson smirked making the girl glare in his direction. However, she didn't get a chance to say or do anything because they all were frozen in place as the lights to the bunker flickered on and off before turning on once again.
"What was—" Anna Lucia began, but Y/N could already feel the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end and had a sneaking suspicion of what was happening.
"Breach," she muttered at the same time someone yelled out from another room, "There's been a breach!"
They all ran out of the room, a few of them scanning the perimeter before they made their way to the main room where everyone was waiting to help them get ready. They hurriedly put what armor they did have on their bodies and Y/N was pulling her hair back into a ponytail when she noticed Joel stumbling into the room with all the weapons in hand.
"Guys! Guys! I got the weapons," Joel announced before proceeding to hand them out to the hunters that walked by.
"Stay," Anderson told him as he took a crossbow.
Joel blinked in surprise, "What? What's happening? What's going on?"
"We've been breached," Y/N explained while she waited for Anna Lucia to grab her weapon so that she could finally reach Joel.
"Breached?" Joel asked. "What do you mean? Like, inside the bunker breached?"
"That's what 'breached' means, kiddo. Y/N, come on," Connor demanded causing the girl to sigh in frustration as him and all the hunters left the room. She turned to Joel who was still trying to process what was happening.
"Joel," she said and he quickly turned to her.
"Right. Right. Here," he muttered as he held out a back holster with two katanas strapped in. She had taken them off of a guy back when the apocalypse had first begun. He had been dead and it wasn't like he planned on using them anyways, so she had taken them in order to keep herself alive. They were her weapon of choice, but she was also one of the best shooters they had so she tended to use a crossbow when necessary. "And here's this," he told her before handing her a crossbow as well.
"Thanks," Y/N told him before nodding her head at him and running out of the room.
"Wait!" Joel yelled, but the girl was already gone. "Breached," he muttered to himself in shock before running after his best friend. By the time he made it to where everyone was, Y/N was already inspecting the gate to the sewers with a frown on her face and her crossbow at the ready while some others worked on getting it open.
"Anna Lucia, Y/N and I will engage," Connor directed. "Anderson and Tim, flank us."
"Flank 'em, yeah, okay. Where do you guys need me? The rear, or. . ." Joel trailed off causing them all to look his way, including Y/N.
"I thought we were past this, Joel," Tim told him as they all looked back to gate.
"Past what? You need help. I can help," Joel insisted. "In case you've forgotten, Robin and I are a duo and I know she goes on the hunting trips and I don't, but this I can help with. Let me help."
"You gonna make me say it?" Connor asked.
"Say what?" Joel questioned.
"You can't handle it, Joel," Connor told him.
"You're shook," Tim added.
"Okay, yeah. So, you guys don't get scared ever?" Joel asked them.
"We get scared."
"We all get scared, Joel, but you get really scared."
"We're not trying to make you feel bad."
"We love you, Joel."
"But you're unsafe."
"You're a liability."
"Even on supply runs."
"Guys!" Y/N exclaimed glaring at the men while Joel looked between them a bit confused.
"Okay, why did that speech feel so rehearsed?" Joel questioned.
"He's got a point," Y/N muttered, turning back around while she nervously fidgeted her hands against the crossbow. "If you're going to tell him something like that at least be sincere instead of rehearsing in your mirror beforehand."
"We did not—" Tim began, but the sound of a growl and something banging against metal made them all tense while Joel jumped back a good foot from where he originally was.
"Connor, Y/N," Karen said as she handed a device to the man. Y/N quickly stood up and hurried over, her eyes flickering over the screen where she could see a blue dot making its way through the sewers towards them.
"Shit," she muttered before standing up more and cracking her neck. She got an arrow ready in the crossbow and jumped in place for a moment to get her nerves out. "Let's do this."
"Okay, 30 meters out. Let's move," Connor directed.
The sewer door was pulled down before the hunters began making their way inside. Y/N was about to follow when someone grabbed ahold of her wrist. She looked back, her eyes locking with Joel's as he held on tightly and whispered, "I can help, Robin."
Y/N let her eyes flicker over his face while her mouth opened up to say something. However, she found herself unable to. All she could imagine was Joel getting attacked by whatever creature was in the sewers at that very moment. She couldn't let him go in there, no matter how badly he wanted to. This was the first time a breach like this had ever happened. Who knew what awaited them down there?
The girl rushed forward, hugging the boy tightly and making him stumble back a bit in surprise. She didn't give him time to react before she was pulling away. "I'm sorry," she whispered, quickly turning around and climbing into the sewers. However, she didn't disappear before she yelled out, "No one let Joel follow!"
Joel's eyes widened. "What?" he exclaimed before attempting to rush forward, but Tim was already there to stand in his way. "Tim, you got to let me go with her. I can't let her go alone. I-I can help."
"She'll be fine, Joel. Y/N’s a survivor. She won't let whatever creature this is take her down," Tim assured him before reaching out to grab the curtain. "You heard what she said. Now go with them." He then pulled the curtain between the two, effectively blocking Joel's view of the tunnel and leaving the boy standing there with a numb feeling coursing through his body.
"Robin," he muttered in frustration before turning on his heels and running to the room everyone was in. The door was locked behind him and Joel quickly shoved his way to the front so that he could watch the monitor with Karen and Kala.
They could all see five yellow dots moving through the tunnels near a bigger blue dot in the center of the screen. "They're getting close," Karen muttered, a silence falling upon them all as they noticed the five dots stop not too far away from the creature. Before anyone knew what was happening, the blue dot lunged out and grabbed ahold of one of the yellow dots.
"Shit."
"Oh, my God."
"It's got one of 'em."
"What about the others?"
The lights began to flicker while Joel felt his heart drop to his stomach. "Y/N," he whispered, his voice making everyone look his way. He was pale, his hands shakily holding onto the crossbow in his hands.
"We don't know if that's her, Joel," Karen tried to tell him. "She could be fine. She—"
"I'm going after her," he said before turning and running for the door. Everyone's eyes widened as people began to make a move towards him, by the boy was quick and already had the door open.
"Joel!" Kala yelled.
"They need help. My best friend needs help. I'm going," Joel insisted before running out the door and slamming in shut behind him.
Joel spun around quickly, crossbow in the air while he nervously looked around the bunker. It was like he was walking into a foreign place, the usual warm feeling of the bunker being replaced with nothing but an eerie feeling and a coldness that shook him to his very core.
His breathing was shaky as he began to walk forward, his eyes flickering around his surroundings while Joel tried to keep himself calm. The only thing keeping him from collapsing in fear was the knowledge that Y/N was out there possibly hurt. He had to get to her. He had to.
The lights flickered as he slowly made his way back towards the tunnels where he knew he had his best access to the others. It was a deafening silent as he walked into the room, so quiet in fact that his ears were ringing.
He nervously looked around and adjusted his hands on the crossbow. As he grew closer to the curtain Tim had pulled out earlier, a new sound filled his ears while his feet slowly stepped in the new puddles of water and blood that were on the ground. The sight made him feel sick to his stomach, so Joel did his best to keep his eyes staring straight ahead.
A lightbulb exploding behind him made the boy jump and spin around, his eyes wide in fear before he realized what had happened and turned back around. He could hear Tim and Connor's words replaying over and over in his head.
We all get scared, Joel, but you get really scared.
You're unsafe.
You're a liability.
Joel walked forward and took in a shaky breath as he attempted to push the voices from his head. His eyes continued to survey the area and he hesitated at the sight of a figure on the other side of the curtain. It almost looked like—
"Connor?" Joel questioned, his voice barely above a whisper. When there was no response, Joel furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and lowered his crossbow just a bit. "Connor?"
It was at that moment that a loud hissing sound came from the other side of the curtain and Connor's body limply flew across the room before being shoved into the mouth of whatever creature was over there with him. Lights from the other side shinned their shadows against the curtain and Joel's eyes widened in fear as he slowly took a step back.
Joel's whole body was shaking, his eyes tearing up a little as he feared for not only his life, but Y/N’s as well. If the creature had done what it did to Connor with Y/N. . .well, Joel didn't even want to think about what he would do.
It seemed he wouldn't have to because at that moment the monster finished up eating Connor and turned its attention towards the curtain. It made a noise that Joel swore was able to rattle his bones. The crossbow was back up in position once again, but his hands were shaking so badly that he knew if he didn't get his fear together he was going to be the monster's dessert to the meal it just ate.
The monster began to stand up on the other side of the curtain, its shadow growing bigger and making Joel gulp. He shakily got the crossbow ready to fire before freezing at the sight of the monster appearing over the top of the curtain.
There were tears in his eyes at this point and Joel couldn't even move as he watched the monster tear the curtain down before moving towards him. A few tears slid down his face and Joel felt the fear and panic coursing through his veins.
He closed his eyes as the monster grew nearer, his face confronting in pain and fear as he felt the monster's breath fanning his face and heard the growls rattling in his head.
Then before he knew what had happened, he heard the sound of something flying through the air and then the monster cried out in agony. He felt someone rush by him and opened his eyes to find Y/N standing above the monster's dead body, one katana dripping with blood in one hand while the other protruded from the center of the monster's face.
"D-Did I kill it, or did you?" Joel whispered, her eyes flickering between Y/N who still had yet to turn around and look at him, Tim, and Anna Lucia.
"What do you think?" Anna Lucia asked.
"Robin," he muttered for he knew she had been the one to save him, his eyes flickering back over to his best friend. It was then that she turned to look at him, her whole body shaking as she breathed heavily and attempted to calm herself down. Joel inhaled sharply at the sight of her, her face covered in dirt and blood while a scratch ran down the length of her arm from where the monster had no doubt tried to grab ahold of her.
Joel began to break at that, tears rolling down his face even more while Y/N pulled the other katana out of the monster's head before shoving them both into their sheaths. She moved forward in an instant, her hands grabbing ahold of Joel's arms while she looked to him with a worried gaze.
"Joel, are you okay? Are you hurt?" she asked earning a slow shake of his head in response. "What were you doing? What were you thinking? You could've gotten killed!"
Joel slowly lifted his gaze to her, his whole body still shaking as he whispered, "You-You were in trouble, Robin. I—"
Joel was unable to finish what he was saying, his words being cut off as he closed his eyes and more tears fell. It was obvious he was holding back a sob due to the fact they were in front of other people and Y/N felt herself soften almost immediately.
She was wrapping her arms around his neck without a second thought, pulling him in for a hug which Joel quickly accepted. His arms were around her waist and he held onto her tightly while he shook, his tear filled eyes flickering to the ground where the monster that had been seconds away from killing him laid dead on the ground.

Oh, and I have a pretty severe freezing problem.
But I am working on it.

and I don't want to (but I love you)
@jatp-week Day 6: favourite trope
Not me doing a self-indulgent and stupidly long enemies to lovers au :>
Julie Molina didn't have enemies in her life. She had competitors, sure. Everyone did. But Sunset Curve took the whole cake. She didn't have enemies but Luke Patterson came dangerously close.
Luke Patterson, on the other hand, fully considered Julie Molina his number one enemy. He had zero qualms about saying that to her face and behind her back. He knew his band was the best but Julie had a real knack for knocking his ego down a bit and he hated her for it. Maybe he wouldn't get so riled up if she was nice about it or if not nice, she was less nasty and more stern. Honestly, it seemed like she took pleasure in criticizing Sunset Curve.
The rivalry between them extended to their bands and friend circles. Well, for the most part, anyway. Julie and Luke let Willie and Alex get away with their little forbidden lovers thing because they both thought the pair was cute together. It was pretty much the only thing they agreed on. Ever.
Willie only ever talked about Alex, not the band and Alex made sure to steer clear of mentioning Julie whenever he talked about Willie. The arrangement worked for all sides.
Julie and Luke's rivalry extended far beyond their music. It crept into their classes and had them fighting for the top spot. The teachers were thrilled. It meant Luke put in as much effort as he possibly could into every assignment or test. Even if it was out of pure spite, it was working.
And then, oh dear, and then there was a group project. Obviously, they split to opposite ends of the room with their friends to choose pairs (except Willie and Alex, who were shoved together and assured it was perfect) but apparently, it was important to learn how to work with people you dislike because in the workplace you might be forced to work with people you dislike -- or something like that.
Julie and Luke had never let their rivalry coerce them into doing stupid things -- except the one time where Carrie was convinced Luke could hold his breath longer and Julie almost drowned in the school pool to prove Carrie wrong -- but the moment they were paired up, Julie and Luke both wanted nothing more than to break several school rules, vandalism being the top one and starting violent fights being the second. It was unclear if they wanted to fight each other or their teacher.
Matters were made worse when their friends got to pair off together on their own terms while they were stuck with each other. The only thing keeping them from completely refusing to do any work was that they both were still competing for the highest scores.
Their friends had never been more entertained and the two opposing groups bonded over watching the two most stubborn people they knew suffer out a school project together. The clear awkwardness between them was hilarious and it was a pleasant thing to see them sitting at the same table and not trying to verbally murder each other. Bobby turned out to be the funniest person in the whole group. He had a meme-y caption for every moment they caught of Julie and Luke sitting near enough to have a normal conversation and the others loved it. He also seemed to be able to relate all the memes to the pair and was strangely good at photoshop, which earned him the Groupchat King title. (Julie and Luke were completely unaware of this groupchat excluding only them -- which, for the others' safety, was for the best.) Flynn's favourite was a photo of Julie with a feral look on her face, miming strangling a smug Luke. Me & 2020 was Bobby's winning caption. She wasn't sure which was which and that made it even better, in her opinion.
As the weeks passed, Julie and Luke's rivalry mellowed. As far as they said, it was still going strong but their actions told another story. There were playful nudges in the hallway, now. Teasing death glares across a classroom. Locked gazes and stifled giggles at inside jokes -- the fact that they even had those was surprising enough. They willingly shared a lunch table for the sole purpose of interrupting a mini date between Willie and Alex but most of it was spent in their own world anyway. Their mockery of each other had become gentler and more harmless teasing than anything.
And then one Tuesday, Luke didn't show up at school.
Of course, Luke's band knew exactly what was up, but they -- with support from Julie's friends -- decided it would be fun to play dumb and send Julie to Luke's house, just to check up on him, you know, despite the fact that the group project was long over and she really had no need to meddle further into Luke's life. The mere fact that Julie forgot she still had class and was seriously ready to leave immediately said a lot.
Tumblr media
"I can promise you that it's really not as bad as it looks," Luke said from under several pillows, a puffy duvet and maybe three stuffed animals, "but there's no band practice today and I'm not coming to school tomorrow either so can one of you flick Julie's forehead for me? It's tradition."
"Band practice, huh?" Julie said, dropping her bag on the floor with a soft thud. "And here I thought you just had nothing more interesting going on in your life than disrupting mine."
Luke sat up fast enough that his head spun, his vision swam and two pillows fell off the bed. "Who told you where I live?"
"You did, dork. Here, I brought your homework and my dad's trying something out in the kitchen. He misread balf the recipe so it's the blandest thing I've ever tasted but if you're sick, it'll be good for you."
Luke responded to the bit that made sense. "I don't want bland food," he said, scrunching up his nose as Julie set a small stack of papers on the desk in the corner and walked up to him with a covered bowl.
"As if you'd know the difference. Your mom said you can't taste anything anyway."
"You talked to my mom?" Luke asked, looking mortified.
"Yeah, duh. What, did you think I climbed through your bedroom window? I don't care that much for you."
"Aww, I knew you cared for me."
Julie didn't respond to it. "So this is supposed to be a vegetable stew," she said, tapping the plastic wrap over the bowl, "but like I said, mistakes were made."
"Well, what is it then?" Luke asked, leaning over to peer at the bowl.
"I'd call it . . . semi-flavoured water with surprise veggies."
"Joy."
"I know, right? Anyway, I'll leave you to your . . . pillow fort? Cute stuffies. I have the same penguin."
Luke glanced at the penguin that was still secured in his arm. "Don't you dare tell your friends. Especially not Flynn. She's ruthless."
"She is not. But fine, only because you're sick. I'll be back for my bowl tomorrow and it better be empty."
Luke watched Julie leave with a look of amazement. As soon as he heard his front door close, footsteps pattered through the hallway, leading up to his mother sticking her head in his room. "I like her."
"I'm going back to sleep," Luke said, diving back into the safety of all his pillows, wondering if it was the fever or Julie that set his cheeks blazing.
Probably the fever.
Tumblr media
"Good afternoon, dork. Reggie says you said you liked the semi-flavoured water and my dad felt very appreciated by that so he's made some actual stew for you to try. It's beef stew this time so please don't get surprised. Did you do yesterday's homework? You should, because I brought today's. How do you feel?"
Luke, who had been staring at Julie with his mouth slightly open in a perfect picture of surprise, blinked when he realised she'd stopped speaking. "Don't you knock?!"
"Your mom said you were asleep and I could just leave everything here for you but you were awake so. . ." Julie trailed off, shrugging.
"You . . . you are so strange."
Julie shrugged as she set the homework down on the desk and walked up to the nightstand to put the covered bowl down in Luke's reach. "You need to come back to school. I feel bad bullying your friends."
"I'm sure they'll be glad to hear that," Luke said sarcastically. He paused for a second. "Yeah, I did the homework. Most of it. My mom said it'll help to get out of bed and do something. I tried to play the guitar but she was adamant I didn't do that something."
Julie nodded and walked back to Luke's desk. She rifled through the mess and picked up all the homework. "I'll finish this essay for you," she said almost absently, searching among the pages. "Please tell me you did your science homework. I got a lot of that wrong and no one wants to give me the answers because apparently, I should learn my work."
"Uh . . . yeah. Um, yeah, I did the science. Wh-- what do you mean 'do the essay' for me?"
Julie looked up as she gathered everything into a pile of messy and uneven papers. "It's on the African American civil rights movement. It's factual and ninety percent of the class will have the same essay anyway so--"
"No. No, I mean . . . why?"
"Oh. Uh . . . why not?"
Luke didn't have a response, so he fell silent.
"Well, that's all of yesterday's homework. Get some rest and then make sure you eat. I can't have my favourite punching bag get too weak to take a hit."
As Julie turned and left his room, Luke felt the sudden urge to scream, so instead, he slammed his burning face into his favourite penguin. Yes, she had called him a punching bag, but she'd also called him her favourite.

"Music class just isn't the same without booing you. Also, Alex said you managed to keep the beef stew down yesterday so my dad thought you could try something a little heavier. This is an experimental chicken and fried rice . . . thing. I do not reccomend eating unless you're sure you're okay enough for a full meal. That said, I brought more beef stew in case you're not up for the chicken and rice."
"You can't just walk in unannounced!" Luke cried as Julie set down the two bowls on the nightstand.
"I can, actually," Julie said, flashing a set of keys at Luke.
Luke's jaw dropped when he recognized the keychains. "Hey, those are mine!"
"Wow, so observant. Your mom gave it to me before I left yesterday because your dad is at work and she needed to go out today and with you holed up in here, there wouldn't be anyone to open for me."
Luke frowned. "Oh, yeah, she said something like that but I was half-asleep."
Julie was pleasantly surprised to find Luke's homework neatly gathered at the corner of the desk. It didn't escape her how Luke seemed to glow with pride when she commented on it. She had to fight a smile as she dropped Luke's homework into her bag.
"Get some rest, dork. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call someone from Sunset Swerve. I'll be busy."
"It's Sunset CURVE and you know it."
"Really? I never noticed."
Luke pouted. "Tuxedo Sam says you're being very mean right now. I'm sick and I deserve care."
"Well, you can tell your stupid penguin that Skipper will beat his ass."
"You named your penguin after the penguins from Madagascar?"
"You call yours Tuxedo Sam."
"Yeah, okay, that's fair."
Julie rolled her eyes and turned to leave. "Take a nap, Moody McSleeveless."
Luke glanced at the penguin laying nearby as he heard Julie lock up the house again. "Don't look at me like that, she's mean all the time."
Tumblr media
"I BROUGHT CAKE!"
Luke scrambled up, launching Tuxedo Sam off the bed. "Who died?"
"No one died," Julie said, picking up the penguin as she walked up to Luke's bed. "It's Friday and since you're doing a little better, I thought you could do with a small treat. Tuxedo Sam agrees."
"Give me back my penguin," Luke said, reaching both arms out to Julie.
"Did you do yesterday's homework?"
"Yes."
"Did you really eat both bowls of food yesterday?"
"Yes."
"And keep it down?"
"Yes, ma'am, now can I please have my penguin back?"
Julie passed Luke the stuffed animal. "You're adorable," she blurted, turning away immediately to hide her own stunned look. She cleared her throat as she headed to the desk to grab Luke's homework. "So, that group project? We got a ninety-five."
That distracted Luke easily enough. "What happened to the other five?!"
"We're very bad at teamwork," Julie said, glancing back at Luke over her shoulder to see him relax against the pillows.
"Ah. That . . . makes sense."
Julie nodded. "Mhm."
The silence that blanketed the room wasn't as awkward as it should have been.
"I have to go. Most of the teachers said it would be okay to get your homework on Monday, but Mr Hughes is on my tail about your chemistry paper. My dad is making cupcakes tonight for some reason and I told Willie he could have some, so I'll send extra with him to give to Alex to give to you, but enjoy that crappy store cake for now. I left proper lunch with your mom for when you feel like it."
It didn't register that the only reason Mr Hughes would be harassing Julie about Luke's homework was if Julie herself had taken responsibility for Luke. Well, it did register, but by then, Julie was long gone and the only response Luke could muster was a muffled scream into poor Tuxedo Sam.
Tumblr media
"Oh, ew, gross. Luke, it smells like the middle school locker room in here. What were you doing?"
Luke had never looked more sheepish in his life as he pointed to the canister on his nightstand -- right next to his alarm clock. "My phone went off about an hour ago and I thought it was the alarm so I did the smart thing and slammed it down but I missed. Obviously."
Holding her nose, Julie dropped everything she was carrying on Luke's table and tore the curtains open, pushing the windows as far as they could go. She stood there for a moment, relishing in the fresh air. "I'll come back inside when I can breathe," Julie said, halfway out the window.
Luke wanted to melt into his pillows. A week later and he was only feeling slightly better. The pros of it was that Julie visited every day with something tasty and a level of snark that only amused him. The cons of it was that Julie visited every day and left him flustered and red in the face.
He firmly believed that Julie only came by every day because she had homework to drop off, but today was Saturday. There was no more homework to drop off.
And she could have just backtracked right out the door again but instead, she headed for the windows on the other side of his room. Why?
Because she's taking care of you, dork.
Luke couldn't help but think that the logical voice in his head sounded suspiciously like Julie.
"Hey, my parents have some stupid couple's yoga thing on Saturdays. Did you break in?"
Julie pulled the windows halfway closed and stepped back into the room. "No, I still have your keys. Your dad tried to give me the spare key to the front door but your mom said it'll be fine if I kept yours until you're back on your feet."
"Wow. She really trusts you, huh?"
Julie shrugged. "I'm a very trustworthy person."
"No, you're not. I saw you lose a pen that you stuck behind your ear and then you proceeded to lose three more by tucking them behind your other ear and in your pockets. You then tried to steal mine."
"I was fourteen," Julie said defensively.
"It happened last week!"
"I felt fourteen."
Luke gave Julie a deadpan look.
"Cute pyjamas."
"I know, right? Bobby got us matching ones when we were like fifteen for band bonding. I mean, I grew out of the pants but the shirt still fits."
Julie scoffed as she stared at the dark haired cartoon smiling at her from the pink shirt. "Looks really good on you, Skip."
"Hey, I like being Skipper. She's Barbie's most intelligent sister."
"Oh, yeah?" Luke didn't even notice that Julie had made herself comfortable at the foot of his bed. "And if you're Skipper, who are the others?"
"Bobby is Chelsea, 'cause he's the youngest of us, Alex is Barbie, 'cause his summer jobs have been everywhere, and Reg is Stacie, 'cause she's Bobby's favourite and Bobby's favourite bandmate is Reg."
Julie's head tilted slightly. "You sound drunk."
"The bottle said one teaspoon of cough syrup but I didn't read and I took two tablespoons. It's okay, though. Mom panicked and called the doctor and he says the cough syrup he gave me is for kids and I'm just really, really, really intolerant. Which you should remember for me because I plan to be super famous with the band and there are gonna be a lot of after parties and I don't wanna get drunk five minutes in. I think the cough syrup is kicking in."
"Luke Patterson, you are unbelievable."
"I know, right?" He attempted a winning smile, but it came off as plain childlike.
Julie chastised herself for finding him adorable. They were mortal enemies and she had to remember that. Then what are you doing in his room on a Saturday, after explicitly telling the rest of his band to stay away?
Julie found it unnerving how much the voice in her head sounded like a teasing Luke.
"You're like, really annoying."
Julie frowned. "I -- I'm sorry?"
"You should be." Luke was sitting cross-legged now, fiddling with the ears of a stuffed bunny. "It's really messing with my head."
Julie decided she liked tipsy Luke -- even if it was just cough syrup. "How so?"
"No, it's nothing."
"You can tell me, Luke. I promised not to tell anyone about your stuffed animals and I kept it, right?"
"Yeah, but this time the secret about you. You're not allowed to know."
Curiosity more than anything made Julie lean forward slightly. "It'll be our secret."
"Okay, but you have to promise not to talk about it."
Julie nodded quickly. Luke tugged at the bunny's ears for a moment.
"You're like . . . really pretty."
Julie couldn't help the soft laugh that bubbled out of her. Adorable, she thought.
"Like, a lot of pretty. You're pretty on the inside, too."
"On the inside?"
"Yeah. On the inside. You know, your heart."
"M-my heart?"
Luke nodded at his stuffed rabbit. "Yeah. You have a really pretty heart. It beats like a drum. Making music. Like you."
Julie's mouth hung open, surprise silencing her.
"You have the prettiest music in you. I can hear it like -- like a song that gets stuck in my head all day. It's really annoying but it's so pretty. It smells like flowers and it looks like butterflies."
At this point, Julie didn't think she'd be able to speak, even if she knew what to say. Luke was talking to the stuffed animal, frowning as he struggled to voice his thoughts understandably.
"Sometimes it's just so loud and I wanna cover my ears and run away but it just gets louder and louder and then you come over and you're saying something mean but the music is there and it's not so loud anymore but I still can't hear anything else. Your heart sounds like a ballad."
Julie was frozen to her seat at the edge of the bed. Part of her wondered if it was Luke talking or the fever. Part of her desperately hoped it was Luke.
"Julie, you are music."
It was a simple sentence. Anyone could have said it. It could mean a lot or it could mean nothing at all. If anyone else had said it to her, she would have taken it as the highest form of a compliment. But that wasn't what Luke was saying.
Everyone knew that Luke spoke best through lyrics and chords. His books and desks were covered in etched notes and scribbled words. Luke lived and breathed music. It was everything to him. Without it, Luke didn't know who he was.
And he compared it to Julie.
Tumblr media
Julie stared at the text on her phone. She bit her lower lip, unsure of what to say in response.
Mom said you visited yesterday. I was dazed for most of it. I didn't say anything stupid or incriminating, right? Not that anything could be more incriminating than the three stuffed animals on my bed.
Ten minutes after that, another had come through. Jules, are you ignoring me? Did I do something?
Then another five minutes later. This is still Julie Molina's number, right?
Julie quickly typed out something before she chickened out again and tossed her phone to the foot of her bed once it was sent.
Hey. Got busy in the kitchen with dad. No, you're good. See you at school tomorrow?
Julie scrambled for her phone to send one last word.
A few streets away, Luke stared at the word 'dork'. He was sure he had said something. He vaguely remembered yapping on about music to Julie -- duh, what else did they share? -- and then suddenly, she wasn't there anymore. He wondered if he'd fallen asleep talking and Julie had left then or if he really had said something to make her leave.
Yeah, he wrote back, see you at school.
Tumblr media
Luke cornered Julie as soon as he caught sight of her in the school hallway. "You've been ignoring me and I don't like that."
Julie squeaked. "I most definitely am not ignoring you."
"Julie, you're pretty much the only person in this school that doesn't keep their phone on mute or vibrate. I know you heard my texts yesterday."
"So what if I am?" Julie asked, folding her arms. "We're not friends, so why should you care if I reply to your texts or not? In fact, why were you even messaging me in the first place?"
While Luke fumbled for a response, Julie slipped past him and continued on her way to class.
"Oh, that is just rude!" Luke yelled after Julie.
She ignored him all through any classes they shared and when lunch rolled around, she made sure to sit with Carrie and Flynn at a small table. Luke had never looked more offended in his life as he joined Reggie in sitting with Alex and Willie.
"What did you do on Saturday?" Alex asked, leaning forward to whisper. "Julie was fine when she told us we don't need to come by at all."
"Julie told you not to come over?" Luke asked, ripping his gaze from Julie to Alex and then Reggie, who shook his head.
"Bro, she actually called Alex and told him that we don't need to come see you because she was going to."
"Yeah, I remember her being there but I was drugged up on cough syrup."
"Weak," Alex whispered loudly, grinning when he made Willie laugh.
"Maybe you said something?" Willie suggested.
"Yeah, probably! But she's not talking to me. She's not even insulting me, which I would very much prefer over this apathy."
"You know where she lives," Reggie said dismissively. "Maybe you should pay her a visit."
Luke glanced across the cafeteria to see Julie quickly whip her head down to stare at her fold. "Yeah. Maybe."
Tumblr media
Julie was tired and wanted nothing more than to go to sleep. Her plans were thrown way off the rails when she walked into her room and found Luke petering around the shelves beside her bed.
"What are you doing here?"
Luke drew his hand back sharply. "Cute box. What's in it?"
"None of your business," Julie snapped, hurriedly closing her bedroom door. "What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to talk to you but you were ignoring me and--"
"You could've just yelled at me from outside," Julie hissed. "I would have come down to shut you up! You can't be in here. Get out of my room."
"No. Not until you tell me why you've been avoiding me since Saturday. Jules, what--"
"Fine! Go and wait for me in the garage. I'll come talk to you in there."
Luke hesitated, unsure if Julie was serious.
When she heard footsteps getting closer, Julie grabbed Luke by the neckline of his shirt and dragged him to the window. "Get out," she whispered hurriedly, "I'll come down to the garage, I promise."
Thankfully, by the time her father arrived, Luke was gone.
"Who were you talking to, mija?"
"Luke," Julie said with a smile. She pointed at the phone. "He liked the cupcakes I sent with Willie."
"Oh, that's great. You didn't take something yesterday and today? Is he feeling better?"
"Much," Julie said, nodding, "in fact, we have some talking to do, so I'm gonna meet him in the garage in a few minutes."
"So late?"
Julie absolutely could not lie to her dad. But she could do half truths. "It's a long overdue discussion."
"School work?"
Julie shrugged. "Music."
"Ah. The garage makes sense. Well, do you wanna take some food down? Midnight snack?"
"Thanks, dad," Julie said with a smile, "you're the best."
Tumblr media
"Oh, your dad is the best!" Luke cried as soon as he saw Julie walk in with a plate of cookies.
"These are experimental, too. They're some kind of oatmeal and choc mint blend. They taste good, in my opinion."
"Everything your dad makes tastes good," Luke said, grabbing three cookies. "My mom's starting to get jealous of how much I love your dad's cooking."
Juli smiled and set the plate down on the coffee table. Was there any point beating around the bush? Sugarcoating things?
"You told me I was music."
Luke paused, one and a half cookies gone. "What?"
Julie kept her gaze trained on the tassels of the carpet. "You told me I'm annoying . . . because I'm pretty. Because I have a pretty heart. You said it beats like a drum and I have the prettiest music in me that gets stuck in your head. It --"
"Smells like spring and looks like butterflies. . ." Luke looked positively mortified.
Julie, refusing to look up, did not notice. "You said . . . you said my heart sounds like a ballad and then -- and then you told me I am music."
Had he really said all that aloud? Well, no wonder Julie was avoiding him like the plague.
Julie tensed up when she could see Luke's feet step in front of her. Almost every part of her screamed that this was wrong. They shouldn't be so close without bickering and fighting. But deeper within, beyond the confines of logic and sense, Luke's voice told her that this was the furthest thing from wrong.
"I said all that? Aloud?"
Julie nodded.
"You know what music is to me."
Julie nodded again.
"Jules," Luke said gently. "Julie, look at me."
Julie refused to, so Luke gingerly tucked his finger under her chin and lifted her head, waiting until her gaze fell on him before speaking.
"You know what music is to me," he said again, prompting another nod from Julie. "Then you know what you mean to me."
Julie blinked a few times and shook her head. "No. No, that's just the fever talking. You -- you didn't really mean all of that."
"If you really believe that, why are you avoiding me?"
"I . . . I don't know."
Luke dropped his hand to take hold of Julie's. He glanced at her, waiting for her to pull away. When she didn't, he interlocked his fingers with hers. "I meant every word. Okay, maybe not literally, but you know what I mean."
Julie shook her head. "We're not even friends, Luke."
"Hm, well, who said I wanted to be your friend?"
Julie wanted to hate Luke. She wanted to loathe the sight of him. She didn't want to like him, let alone love him.
And yet, she did.
So before the overthinker in her could stop her, Julie leaned up on tiptoes and brushed her lips against his. Luke beamed at her like a kid on Christmas morning.
"Not the response I was expecting, but definitely one I'm enjoying."
"Don't make me regret it."
"Yes, ma'am. Now, what are my chances of getting two more? And one for the road? Within the next five seconds becaus my mom doesn't know I snuck out and she think I'm still sick."
"Dork," Julie said fondly, shaking her head.
"I'm serious!"
"You can have two."
"Three."
"Two."
"Four."
"One."
"Two will do," Luke said, letting go of Julie's hands to wrap his arms around her. He gave her a small squeeze. "Plus a hug."
"Dork," Julie said again. But he was her dork and he was her favourite.

Before anyone comes for me about the cough syrup thing, I'm drawing from experience. I mean I never confessed my undying love for anyone but I did blurt out some weird shit. Also, THAT WAS LONG AND IF YOU SURVIVED THE ENTIRE THING, CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU

omg 🥺 can I ask 🍽 and 🥧 for literally anyone you’d be interested in answering for? 💗 those would be such great questions for getting to know character details that I love hearing about!
Ask Game (by @ginger-and-mint; I'll only tag you in this first one so as not to bother you, but I wanted to credit you!)
Thank you, Tiny!! I decided to go with a mix of Lucyverse / Swallow the World, and also a mix of platonic and romantic relationships.
🍽Talk about a time you were really hungry and ate something very satisfying.
CW: financial difficulties
Payton: "This is kind of embarrassing, but back when I first moved to the city - back when I was still in university and only picking up a few shifts a week at the coffee shop - I, um, I quite often ended up skipping meals. I had so little free time, I was always exhausted and stressed, plus the rent was clearing out most of my wages... I think the longest I studied and work without eating a proper meal was three days. I guess the others figured it out, because out of the blue, they invited me to eat pizza in the living room - mind you, this was before I'd ever even made friends with them, you know? I was the newest flatmate and I was never around to get to know them - and they... Well, they told me the delivery guy left a whole extra cheese pizza by accident, and told me to have it to myself. I don't - I didn't really believe them, but I was too embarrassed and flustered to mention it, so I just ate it. The whole thing." They give a shy smile. "Shamelessly."
CW: homelessness, emotional whump
Felix: "Oh, gosh... I don't really like to bring up times from before I was turned, but there was a, um... let's say an increment of time where I was living nomadically. I was seventeen and experiencing what my father would later deem 'a rather rebellious phase'..." He chuckles nervously. "After about two weeks of scavenging for scraps, I was so weak and so hungry that I was sure I was going to be dead soon, and that's around the time that I met Elli... The story from that night is another story entirely, but one of the first things I remember from the aftermath is that Elli brought Chinese food to the hotel room he paid for, to get me off the street. It was so wonderful to dig into something warm and filling, despite the horrors I'd just witnessed, and despite the fact that I was breaking bread with a vampire..." He smiles. "Even then, everything felt better with Elliott around. Food tasted better. The world didn't feel so dark."
🥧Talk about a time food made you feel loved.
CW: alcohol and angst mention
Henry: "Alright, so, I was very drunk one night. I was dealing with... something." He pauses for a second, his eyes glazing over. "And I don't remember everything, but I do know that when I got home, Lucy was awake in the living room, and we got talking, and I ended up screaming at her so much that I couldn't talk the next morning. I don't even remember what I was upset about, but I know she cried a little bit, which is unusual for her." He looks slightly nauseated at the memory. "But eventually, she went into the kitchen, and she made me a toasted cheese sandwich and some tea. I'm sure she assumed I'd been drinking on an empty stomach, which I had been. I sat down and ate, still sobbing away every now and then, and she sat next to me the entire time, and she rubbed my back and played with my hair... Again, very weird for her. And I just... I love her so much for - for being able to see me through all of the horrible shit I was throwing at her."
CW: species-based food intolerance
Nancy: "Ah... Well, let's see. I suppose Ryan and I had been acquaintances for about six months, and roughly two months had passed since I'd sussed her out. She wasn't aware that I knew she was a vampire at that point..." She rolls her eyes affectionately. "She finally got around to asking me to go for a meal at a place nicer than the diner I was working at. It was candlelit, there was Parisian music playing, we were brought five courses - the most courses I'd ever had up until that point - and Ryan ate every bite that was put in front of her! Can you imagine? Her stomach must have been in so much pain by the end of the night, and I was too terrified to tell her that I knew what she was, so I let it happen... The poor dear. I literally watched her face become even paler with every bite she forced down. It was a reckless endeavour, but it told me everything I needed to know about her feelings for me." Nancy lowers her gaze and smiles. "I kissed her for the first time that night."

Nothing lasts forever |Harry Holland|
A/N: K, I wrote this for you. @in-a-lot-of-fandoms-tbh congratulations on 1k!!! I wrote this through a writer's block so yeah not my best work
Warnings: angst, mentions of divorce, Harry being a dick
Word count: 3k
Tumblr media
They say love conquers all. But it’s not that simple, is it? You meet, you fall in love, you think that love is enough and when things start to go downhill, you realise that it isn’t, after all. It’s the effort, time, circumstances, along with hundreds of other things. You make promises of being together forever but nothing lasts forever. Nothing. And when the promises break? You get your heart broken. But a heart that’s broken is a heart that’s been loved. How can something so perfect, something that brought you so much happiness, something you thought would be yours forever, go so wrong?
When you and Harry got married, everyone knew you were one of those couples who make you believe in ‘together forever’. You had met when you were teenagers and neither of you thought the relationship would last even six months. But there you were, seven years later, having the most extravagant wedding, vowing to never leave each other’s side and to support one another through it all.
The first two years of marriage was a honeymoon period, you both were having the best time of your lives, going on dates often, cooking together, falling asleep next to each other, you wondered how you even got so lucky. You joined him on most of his trips, you both travelled across the beautiful cities of Europe and America together and nothing else really mattered. You loved him more than anything in the world, and he loved you, what else did you need?
When your work was piling up, you knew that you had to go back, although neither of you wanted to leave each other. He was away from you more often, working on sets and filming his own movies, but you were quite used to it to say the least. Spending away nights of frustrations all alone, with no one there for you. But you didn’t complain, you could never do that. You could never stand in the way of Harry and his career.
Two years later, on Christmas Day, you held your daughter in your arms, a healthy and beautiful baby. You and Harry had never been more happy and overwhelmed.
“So what should we name her?” he asked you while gently rocking her to sleep.
“Noelle,” you smiled. “She really decided to make Christmas even more special”
Over the years, you were so proud of your little family, you would often look at Noelle and Harry, playing or reading together and the ‘father-daughter bonding time’ as Harry liked to call it. She was more fond of Harry than you, and that was why it was even harder for her than it was for you. You regretted it so many times, you didn’t want to give it all up, to give him up. But it was becoming so difficult, taking care of a small child all on your own, along with Harry acting like a child himself. It was far too much responsibility than you could handle. You loved him, you really did, but love is never enough.
Now you were cooking in the kitchen with Noelle sitting on the counter, reciting her lessons from school.
“But mommy! We have holidays coming up now!”
“Yes and you will have all the time to play and enjoy, ok?”
“And there’s something else too,” she giggled.
“Oh is it?” you pretend to think.
“Yes! It’s my birthday”
“That’s right, you’ll spend your birthday with grandma and grandpa and your uncles”
“Will daddy be there?”
“Hopefully yeah,” you sigh.
“Will you be there?”
“Of course, sweetie. Mommy would never miss your birthday party,” you pinch her cheeks.
“Why don’t you and daddy ever want to meet?” she speaks up after a minute.
“Baby… daddy and I…” you honestly didn’t know how to phrase it. “We just kind of don’t… talk anymore, you know?”
“Like Tina and me?”
“Yes, exactly like you and Tina”
“But you told me that I should not be angry at her and we should become friends again”
“That is for you, the thing between me and daddy is much more complicated”
“What does complicated mean?”
You chuckle, the questions never end.
You step out of the car into the bitter cold December wind in front of the Holland household. It had been a while since it had snowed this heavy, and you were worried if you would be able to drive in this weather.
“Here you go,” you say as you hand over Noelle to Sam.
“Gosh it’s so cold today, what are you even going to do?” he asks you.
“Go back to the office I don't really have anywhere to be”
“You're gonna work through Christmas? Take some time off, why don’t you stay with us?”
“Sam no-”
“Come on, y/n. How long will you keep avoiding him this way?”
“I- ”
“And what about Noelle’s birthday?”
“I’ll come and visit for a few hours on 25th”
“Y/n, this will always be your home too, with or without Harry. We would love to have you over for Christmas”
“Mommy please, I’m feeling cold out here,” Noelle says reaching out her tiny hands out to you from Sam’s arms.
“Okay fine,” you laugh.
As you get inside the house, Noelle jumps off from Sam and starts running into the house.
“Daddy!”
“Oh my little princess I’ve missed you!” you see Harry run from the living room, picking up Noelle and kissing her forehead. “How have you been? Have you been good? Otherwise who’s gonna get all the gifts?” he pretended to say in a childlike voice.
Your heart warmed up at the sight, your lips curling into a smile. It had been so long since you had seen the two of them reunited like this. Everytime you went to drop Noelle off at Harry’s house, you just waved from the car, not even caring about what happened afterwards.
He seemed a little surprised to see you there and you weren’t sure if it was a good surprise or not.
“Y/n… hi”
“Hey Harry”
“You um changed your hair”
“And you’re wearing the same old sweater”
“No this is a new sweater it’s uh-” he says trying not to continue with an awkward silence. “It’s the old sweater,” he shrugs, making you smile
"Y/n! What a surprise," Nikki calls you from the living room. "It's so nice to have you here over Christmas, everyone misses you so much"
You walk over to meet everyone as Noelle calls Sam to the side.
"Hmm what's up?" he asks the little girl.
"I know how mum and daddy can talk"
He lets out a laugh. "What? And why's that?"
"Mommy said that she and daddy don't talk anymore and that's the only problem. We just have to find a way for them to talk and become friends again"
"What's your plan, genius?"
And then she told him.
After dinner that night, you were sitting on the front porch with Sam. He was your friend, someone who you could always turn to. All of Harry's family was like that. When you both got divorced, you thought you would lose contact with the Hollands, you didn't want to lose them too because they were just like your own family but the bond didn't change, Sam helped you get through it, just like he helped Harry and he was the one who had tried to resolve things between you both.
"I still don't understand. You both were doing just fine, better than fine. All of you were so happy, what even happened?"
"Sam… Harry and I haven't even talked about what went wrong between us. Everytime we tried to talk, something came in between"
"Then talk now, you have plenty of time"
"How does it even matter now?"
"It does. I've seen how miserable you two are, you don't even want to see each other. I know you both still have something"
"We have Noelle," you say as a matter of factly.
"You know what I mean. You both love each other"
"See that's the thing with love. Love doesn't help me take care of a four year old all on my own, Sam. She misses him so much. She just keeps asking me when she'll get to see her father. He never made time for us"
"I know he's been a kind of a jerk"
You raise an eyebrow at him.
"Okay a big jerk, but he cares about you and Noelle. I'm not asking you to get back together but at least talk and resolve whatever beef you both have"
"We can't"
"Why?"
"It's just… I don't even know"
There was a long silence. If it was summer, you would have been hearing the crickets chirping but at this hour of a cold winter night, all you could hear was the faint distant noise of the faraway traffic.
"How about this, you both go out tomorrow, just for an hour or two, hang out, talk, just say whatever you had been holding in all this time"
"You're setting us up on a date?"
"Not a date. You both just need to talk, right? So you just need some alone time"
"Has Harry agreed to this?"
"He definitely would"
"No, it'll be too much. And what about Noelle?"
"What about her? We're all here to take care of her. You just go and talk this over"
You lay awake at night thinking about the happy times you had with Harry. How did things go so so wrong?
Two years earlier
"Harry, the opening ceremony is on Friday, it's huge for the company!"
"Yes I know, love. I really wish I could make it"
"What… do you mean?"
"I'll be leaving for Atlanta two days from now"
"But it's important to me and everyone will be asking for you"
"I'm so sorry, baby but I have to go"
"You've done a great job, y/n. Where's Harry? I'd love to meet him," your manager asks you at the after party of the opening ceremony.
"He couldn't make it tonight. He really wanted to be here"
"Where's your husband, miss y/l/n? This is such a big day for you!" another one of your colleagues asked you later that night.
"He's really disappointed he couldn't be here but duty calls," you tried to hide your loneliness and sadness through a smile.
"Y/n! I haven't seen Harry tonight…"
"How's the movie coming up?" you were talking to Harry at 2 in the morning, time zones were driving the both of you crazy.
"It's going great! The location is amazing, I think we could shoot the whole film here. I just wish you were here I miss you so much"
"I miss you too, just come back home," listening to his voice seemed to make you even lonelier.
"I will," you hear music playing in the background and the noise of people cheering and talking.
"What's happening there?"
"Ah they're throwing a party in my honour, it's been such a success-" you heard a woman laugh right beside him.
"So are you having a good time?"
"Yes I am I just-"
"Then you should go back to it. Bye"
"But y/n-"
You were still working when he came back from the airport and you immediately rushed home after you were free.
When you saw him, you felt as though you were seeing a stranger. He looked different and he felt different and he looked tired than ever. Nevertheless you jumped on him and hugged him tight, making sure he was real.
"Oh god I've missed you, more than you could ever know," he stroked your hair and kissed your forehead.
"Really? Then show me how much you've missed me," you say as you lead him into your shared bedroom.
"I'm so sorry I missed your opening, darling I really wanted to be there"
"It's alright, we have another celebration next month, you can meet everyone there"
"Oh I can't make it to that either, I have to get away again after three weeks"
"But you just came back! And Noelle is just two years old, how do you expect me to take care of her and go to work?"
"There's nothing I can do, y/n. The contracts have already been signed. This is my big break, it's important to me"
"And our marriage is not? Your daughter is not?"
"You both are the most important to me," he put his calloused hands on your cheeks. "But you knew this was what our life would be when you married me"
"Everything has changed since then, Harry. We have a child now and we're so happy here. Why do you have to go away halfway across the world for months"
"Nothing has changed. I still love you the same and our careers are still as important to us as before"
"You could have at least talked to me about this"
"Yes I'm sorry. Everything will be alright once I return, I just have to go now"
Harry couldn't focus on work that day. He just kept replaying the conversation he had with you before leaving.
'I can't lose her. I really can't," he thought. 'Oh my god I love her, I love her so much. We have to find a way to make this work'
And ten thousand miles away from him, you sat all alone on the bed, thinking, 'this will not work, we're so happy, why does he want to give all of this up?'
"We're not teenagers anymore, y/n. Now I want something and you want something else, our worlds are different"
"So we just let it go?"
"I'm not saying that we have to let anything go, but it's my career, y/n. For the first time in my life, things have finally started to move and I don't want to lose anything"
"Harry… I have always supported your career. I have always supported your dreams. But you can have everything you want right here with me and Noelle. You don't have to leave"
"You're not even trying to understand"
"I'm understanding everything. I can't do this anymore, I'm not another one of your fans, Harry. I can't just keep on chasing you like this"
"Ice skating? Really?" you say as you see the long sheet of ice that lay on the ground in front of you, there were only a few people as it was a cold day. Everyone was probably snuggled up in bed with some warm coffee rather than going out on a date with their ex husband.
"We can go somewhere else if you want, there's a restaurant-"
"No this is fine. After all Noelle chose it"
He helps you put on your skates and you both hold each other, trying not to lose balance until you reach the ice rink.
"Ah that's it," he lets go of your arm but still holds your hand in his.
"Wait what did you mean Noelle chose it?"
"You don't know your daughter, Mr Holland. She's grown up to be quite the matchmaker," you laugh.
"You remember how we used to come here?" you smile at the memories, you and Harry used to go ice skating almost every week in winters. Although neither of you were the best at it, you loved the times you spent falling and laughing and later on having hot chocolate in each other's arms.
"Yeah," he tries to hold your other hand as well. "You remember the Christmas Noelle was born? I miss taking her out ice skating"
"Of course I remember," you sigh. "Eighteen hours of labor, and I was alone. You couldn't even make it in time for the birth of your own daughter"
"She was supposed to be born in January, how could I have known she would come in so early?"
"Well you always have the excuses ready, don't you?"
"It's not an excuse, it's more of an explanation. The flights were all booked, I mean it was Christmas! And I did reach the hospital in time"
"You reached the hospital when she was all cleaned up and in my arms"
He stays silent for a few moments and then speaks, with a gentler tone. "Y/n I'm sorry, I really am"
"You always said that, yet you never did anything to understand what went wrong"
"I was just so caught up in my life, I mean… there was so much work. I know I didn't spend much time with you both and-"
"It wasn't even about spending time, Harry. The thing is, you were never there for us. When I needed you the most, you weren't there. Even your brother understood that I needed someone but you didn't. You're just so-" you choked on the words.
"I know, and all I can say is that I've messed up, big time. I know you can't forgive me"
"Oh I've forgiven you a long time ago, Harry"
His hair was all messed up from the wind, going wild in all directions like a crown on his head. His nose and cheeks were turning red from the cold and all you wanted in that moment, was just kiss him. You wanted to feel his cold lips on yours until they turned warm. You wanted to hold his hair in your fingers, you wanted to touch him, you wanted to feel him. You wanted everything you once had. You wanted him back.
"I remember everything about you, you know?" he spoke up. "How can I ever forget? I remember how much you loved reading and how you hated it when I left my clothes on the floor. And how you keep your socks on during sex"
"You just had to bring that up" you roll your eyes and laugh.
"The thing is, I love you. I always have, even now when we're.... over, I still love you. I never got over you"
"Harry-"
"Y/n, what we had, it was something else. You're… the only woman I've actually ever loved in my life"
"And you're the only one who I've loved in my life. But we can't go back now"
"Why? Why can't we give it another chance? Give us another chance?"
"It didn't work the first time, why do you think it'll work now?"
"I don't. But I'm miserable without you and we're different now. I've lost you once and I'll never make you feel like I'm busy for you, ever again"
"Are you sure? I'm tired, Harry. I'm so tired, I really cannot go through this if everything goes wrong again"
"It won't. I promise you, let's give us another chance, please?"
You looked into his eyes and you knew the answer.

erik killmonger x black reader
|part 4|
warnings: um definitely smut this chapter at the end. so 18+ for this chapter! and a possible trigger warning for grief but i promise it gets better and its a romcom.
synopsis:  reader grieves Erik until she doesn’t (i’m trying not give too much away). This one is a long ass chapter. So, grab you a snack and something to drink! I hope y’all like it.
Tumblr media
“You promised on our birthday that you would give me something far more special than the charms you would gift to me. In 2018, you wanted to avenge your birth parents and you went off and did something foolish and when you- when they returned you to me you were-.” you struggle for a bit to find the words to explain it all to him as he takes a step back to gather himself.
He rubs his eyes before grabbing your arms gently and massaging them . He leans down to look you in your eyes before asking “Ma, did you take something before I came to pick you up? You alright? Cause what you saying don’t make no sense at all... Your pupils don't look dilated though.”
“I know how this must sound. Batshit crazy. I know it sounds crazy to me too. I’m still trying to figure out if I’m losing my own damn mind. I don’t know how or why. I just know that you came back to me.” you say to him and he shakes his head.
“Erik. You’re talking about your ex boyfriend...The one that passed... . Alright, I’m going to take you home now... I still don’t understand what’s going on here and I’ve had about all I can take of trying to understand what’s going on here.” N’Jadaka says quietly to you before going around and opening your car door.
The drive was silent as you picked at your nails and let the soft r&b roll over the tension between the two of you.
Your own thoughts were going in about a billion different directions again. It didn’t feel right to just sit on all of that and not say anything at all. As ripped from a science fiction film as it sounded at least he knows.
He was never one to think quietly because you could practically read his thoughts with the changing of expressions across his face.
The relief of seeing your building washed over you as he offered to walk you to your door.
It was bittersweet because there was still so much of him in this different version of him. Even when he was upset with you or livid with whatever ghost that was haunting him back then,  he still showed nothing but tenderness to you.
You nod and give him a small smile before following him up the stairs , to your elevator, and finally your door.
“I know that this is a lot. I mean who in their right mind would be able to process all of that.I wish there was any other way to say it... But thank you, I had a really nice time.” your soft words snap him out of staring at your face as if he was trying to piece it all together.
He knew deep down that there was something about you and what happened that weekend while dreaming in colours and other worlds but he couldn’t wrap his head around all of this happening in real life.
You lean up to kiss his cheek and he grabs your shoulders softly. “With all due respect. You seem like a lovely person and a good woman, but I just - this all a lil too weird for me and I don’t think it’s a good idea that we continue seeing each other.”
He kisses your hand and leaves with one look over your shoulder as you call out “Meet me at our spot. If you are still anywhere in there. You’ll know what I mean.”
“What the hell happened ? I didn’t expect you back until tomorrow morning?” Iri says as she settles on the other side of the sofa and patted the spot next to her as you kick off the sandals and lay your head on her lap with tears already prickling your eyes.
“Oh you didn’t? Please don’t tell me you told him about the soulmate reincarnation thing? Sweets, you probably scared the hell out of that man. We needed you to keep that waaay down in the vault.” Tiki adds as she pops the cork off the bottle of wine in her hand and pauses the movie playing on the screen in the background.
“Here’s what we’re gonna do . You’re gonna text him and tell him that you had just gotten your wisdom teeth removed earlier today and the meds had you unexpectedly zooted as fuck. “ Iri suggests and you chuckle softly.
---
Meanwhile at N’Jadaka’s house he was already being pestered by Lina and Penn for some type of details about what happened during the date. Orleans was already in the kitchen cooking and ear hustling but went back to his conversation on the phone with Big Mike when he realized there wasn’t any tea.
“I don’t feel good. I’m finna go lay down. I’ll talk to y’all in the morning”. He says simply to them before trudging his way to his part of the house.
They had been friends since college and just got used to the idea of living together as they did in the dorms so they made it work after graduation.
It helped them save money for when they finally separated and all of their schedules kept them busy so they didn't have time to get sick of each other. They also knew him well enough to know when something was bothering him and to leave him alone when he gets this moody.
"What the fuck?" He whispered under his breath
"What the fuck was all that?" He continues talking to himself as he strips and walks past the bathroom mirror to the shower.
He stops when something catches his eye. He sees a birthmark on his chest that almost resembles the shape of claw marks. He lets his fingers linger over the mark for a second. Thoughts of a panther mask clouded his memories for a moment before he shook his head and entered the shower.
---
A few hours later of talking through it with your girls about possibly seeing a therapist about all that's going on and you were ready for bed.
It didn't take long to drift off, you were ready to put the whole thing behind you.
The familiar setting of purples , pinks, and hues of blue came into focus and you looked around letting the butterflies land on you again.
You walk through the flowers and find Erik sitting by a stream of water weaving some of the flowers together.
"What the hell, E?" You ask as you run over to him and wrap your arms around his neck
He turns to you and smiles big , his dimples on full display before shrugging.
"It ain't perfect but it's the best I could do. They said it's like a do-over or something like that. I get a second chance but as a result of the way I did things the first time it's a lil different. Like when you restore a computer and it lose all it's files and shit. I get a new life but I'm still kinda stuck. I kinda like it though. I don't remember all the other shit when I'm awake. It really is like starting over. Shits crazy to explain when you think about it. But for you , you already know. I'd find you in this life and the next and the one after that. I don’t think I’mma ever fully remember what happened with all of that when i’m awake. I’m cool with it. It ain’t something I’m tryna remember." He says tipping your chin up to look at you and kissing you softly
"I know. At least I get to hold you in the real world. It's just different. But guess what I saw today? I seen that bench that you and me signed all them years back. It's still there." You say to him and he places the lil flower bracelet around your wrist as y'all sit and talk for the rest of the night.
By the time you wake up with the aroma of breakfast wavering throughout the loft you feel a little better about the whole situation with Erik, not Erik.
You opened your phone and sent him an I'm sorry gif with a few extra words inspired by Tina's wisdom tooth lie.
After easing into the kitchen and standing in the doorway you see the two lovebirds dancing around the kitchen singing to each other and laying food on the plates.
"Morning lil sleepy head. Don't forget that I'll still be coming down to the center with you today for the seminar. You hungry?" Iris asks as she places the plate in your hands with a kiss to the top of the head.
"Of course. There's a young girl, Sophie there that I really think would love to talk to you. She's just starting her transition. And her parents are wonderful but they don't really have much money. She hasn't really had the chance to get more “feminine” presenting clothes and she likes makeup.  " You say and she nods catching your drift.
"Well it'd brighten anybody's day seeing a beautiful successful trans woman like myself honey. But let's lift her spirits even more. I'm gonna bring some of the makeup I got from pr packages and some of the clothes from this collection. I really hope it helps." She answers and Tika just saunters over to her proclaiming her love for her.
"Alright alright alright. I get it. I'm single as hell." You say laughing softly
---
Two weeks ticked by with radio silence on N'Jadaka's end. After the 4th day when he gave you the cold shoulder at a coffee shop, you decided to stop trying.
Maybe it wasn't fate and maybe you were just believing what you wanted to believe.
You reason with yourself as you walked around the loft making notes about the new housing project you were working on.
Finally having the house to yourself with the lovebirds gone for the day on a little adventure. You got to work budgeting and calling different areas to rent out apartments to you for women and lgbtq+ with housing insecurities.
Your ramblings and thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door , thinking that Iri or Tika left something behind.
"I told you to take your sunscre- Daka?" You question as he stands in front of you
You cross your arms and furrow your brows while waiting for an answer from him.
He stands for a moment like he’s trying to gather all of his thoughts together in a way that makes sense to both of you.
"What're you doing here?" You ask putting your hand on your hip.
He drops his shoulders and lets out a soft sigh before looking at you.
"I didn't wanna believe it. What you said that night cause like how the fuck does something like that happen? I’mma be honest.  I wanted to just believe that you were a lil off and leave it at that but something keeps telling me that you right. I can't remember shit before college and all I wanted to do was be with you. From the moment I met you in the store. I was like, this is it. This is what's missing. A piece to a puzzle that's all jumbled up." He admits and you nod slowly before letting him in.
You walk around the kitchen getting a cup of tea for yourself and sitting a cup of coffee down on the counter for him.
“Don’t worry it’s black, I know you dont like it sweet.”
"You know I didn't exactly expect my fiancee that I buried months before to show up at a damn supermarket of all places. This isn't some movie or fanfiction. These kind of things don't happen in real life. Daka you, you had claw marks all over you. The last time I laid eyes on you. And now you're here in front of me. I thought that I was losing my mind." You say and he starts to unbutton his shirt.
"These." He says peeling his shirt off and showing you the birthmarks on his chest and shoulder.
You trace your fingers over it before leaning your head on his shoulder.
"I asked my parents about my childhood and when I passed by my old neighborhood a few days ago andI remembered some things. I remember what happened to my other parents, in pieces. Shit’s brutal." He says dropping his gaze
"It's okay." You whisper to him and wrap your arms around him. You rocked him for a moment letting him let all of those feelings wash over him.
He embraced you for a moment before kissing you tenderly. You tug at his bottom lip before deepening the kiss when he press you against the counter.
"We'll figure it out... Something telling me I'd be a fuckin fool to lose you again." He says quietly against yours lips.
"Are you gonna make love to me or are you going to keep looking at me like that?" You ask as he studies your whole face like he's looking at art.
"A memory. It's you. We stood right here and I kissed you the same way. You were saying something like "you bring yourself home to me"." He says and you nod frantically, holding him closer to you.
"I did. It was right before you left." You admit and he nods before lifting you up onto the counter and kissing you heatedly this time. He kisses down to your breasts before looking up at permission from you to unhook your bra.
Always a man that knows what he's doing. He takes kisses around your breasts and nipples. He takes his time to lick and caress you until he works his way down.
You shake your head yes before moving to slide off your panties but his kisses and his mouth is already beating you to it as he kisses down to your thigh.
He slides your panties off with his teeth and tosses them over his shoulder.
You tilt your head back as you feel him wasting no time massaging over your clit and working you over with his fingers, curling them and stroking you gently.
Your soft moans fill the room when he hooks your leg over his shoulder and begins to suckle your clit softly , swirling his tongue over it.
"Tika will kil- Ooh god. How does your tongue feel like it's vibrating?" You ask and he only chuckles and grips onto your cheeks to bring you closer to him.
He was feasting on and devouring you like he was going to lose again and you could grind your hips down against his tongue and moan his name sweetly.
He didn't stop his tongue or fingers working in you until your legs are shaking and you're gripping at his head.
"You have- fuck. I'm a squir-" you moan his name brokenly while trying to get out your words and lean back for a moment licking his lips before realizing what you're trying to say.
"Hold that for me. I wanna come with you." He says to you and you pout and protest as he removes his fingers. He picks you up off the counter and carries you bridal style asking you which room is yours.
"Left , left." You giggle into his shoulder as he helps you slide your dress off and you unbutton his jeans for him.
You capture him in a kiss for a moment feeling his soft plump lips against yours again for the first time in what feels like forever.
"It's been a long time since I've done all of this. . . Gentle." You say and he runs a calloused finger over your cheek moving a curl away from your face as he looks at you.
He gets a quick flash of a memory of you and him in bed. You wore a smile on your face before telling him "happy anniversary".
He trailed his fingers down your body remembering almost every scar , every moment.
When Erik got to a scar at your side. He chuckled, unlocking a memory of you two running from the neighborhood rottweiler , Smokey.
That old ass dog hated you and he hoisted you over the fence first after being out late one night in high school. The gate had caught your side when you jumped.
Erik felt so bad he brought you food from anywhere you wanted everyday from to school for a month.
He leans down to place open mouthed kisses to it.
He traced over your thighs to the cellulite and stretch marks remembering when you first got them.
He was moving homes at the time and he wasn't ready to be further away from you yet.  You two just sat for hours at the park in the grass, talking.
" You know white men behind all of that anyways. They want y'all to feel like you gotta look the same way. That's how they make them billions. My mama had 'em . Yo mama , and generations back. And it ain't ever stop them from being the women they are. Besides if any dirtneck nigga ever try you , just tell me. Imma handle it." He would say as you sat with your head on his lap, staring at the sun setting, knowing good and well your grandparents were gonna ground you for being late when you get home.
They never did though cause you were with Erik they knew you were gonna be alright.
"Nothing to worry about. I… I've never done any of that stuff before…Have you?" you question hesitantly as you stare off.
"Tisha. From Ms. Wilkes class. We was coming from the kick back-"
"Uh uh . That's your business , you ain't gotta tell me all of that." You say slightly upset at the fact that Tisha of all people was his first.
----
"I got you." He says kissing your forehead then your nose before hooking your leg over his hip and easing into you slowly while his lips are still on yours. His eyes never left yours as he cupped your face sweetly like he didn't want to lose you again.
In this moment he gets a glimpse of prom night and how things changed between the both of you forever.
He wraps his hands around your waist. One of his hands splayed across your belly.
He remembers the pregnancy scare you both had afterwards with him holding your hand and telling you no matter what happens he wanna be there for both of you.
Luckily, nothing came of it but you were definitely closer because of it.
You let out an open mouthed gasp at the feeling of being so full of him after so long.
You rest your hands on his neck and shoulder and he bottoms out fully settling into you as he moves his arms next to  balance himself.
You close your eyes as he begins to stroke into you trying to set a rhythm for you as his praises for you fall from his lips.
He kisses his way down your neck licking the marks that are already starting to form there.
"My lil baby." He mutters out after licking a freshly formed hickey forming on top of your breasts.
You open your eyes slowly , looking at him and the way he's looking at you .
"It's been way too long since I've heard that from you. You're remembering?" You ask quietly as you let out a soft moan.
N'Jadaka's muscles flex and tighten as he picks up his pace. His abs clenched as he  pulls out almost completely and filled you at a different angle.
The sounds of your moans filling the room with every stride and stroke of his hips,  it seems like you're closer to floating in space. The man was fucking you like his life depended on it and at this point all you could do is wrap your arms around him again to comfort you as he shutters and rolls his hips deeper into you. Your walls tighten around him as you relish in the feeling of him.
"Fuck. I remember all of it." He says half chuckling at the way it's coming to him and half nearly in tears cause he really missed being with you.
"I also remember that this is your favourite position cause you like to see my face." He teases before leaning down to kiss you again with them plump ass lips.
"E?" You ask , grabbing his face with trembling hands.
"Baby?" You ask again
He moves his hands from your waist and places your hands in his. Then moving them above your head as he flashes in between making love to you for the last time and now.
You roll over with him and place your hands on your chest riding him slowly getting the rhythm as he strokes into you from below.
He laughs softly when he realizes what you're doing.
"Are you spelling my fucking name , baby?" He asks and you tell him that you can spell both.
You let out a whimper when he brushes your spot and let him take over as he runs his hands over your thighs to your butt and over your back as he strokes into you.
He plants his feet on the bed and work your hips in rhythm with him.
It didn't take long for you to orgasm with a loud shriek of his name . You had forgotten how he gets when he's close as his hands on gripping all over your thighs and your back. You were already feeling sensitive with your second orgasm coming through and this man felt like he was trying to put it in your belly.
He rolls you onto your side giving it to you deeply.
With a loud hiss and panting from him he cums , holding you in his arms.
"I don't think it has felt like that since our birthday last year." He says into your ear as he pulls you closer into his arms.
He engulfs you fully in his embrace and presses a kiss to the side of your head.
You laugh softly and roll over to face him , resting your forehead against his.
"I remember. You took me to Paris. I had never been and at the time I was obsessed with everything Parisian. We fucked on the balcony and somehow I ended up popping the straps to my favorite dress. You still owe me by the way." You tease and he shakes his head laughing.
"I think we ended up saving they marriage from across the way though. They was arguing the whole time. Then they gon watch us like we ain't see them." Erik says laughing as he squeezes your thigh playfully.
"I know they was trying some things." You joke
"I missed you so much. You don't even understand." You admit with a somehow saddened and relieved expression.
"I know.  I want to start over this time. All of that Erik Killmonger shit is over with. I wanna keep the name N'Jadaka and just start over. All of that was too heavy on me to carry. I wanna let it all go. I wanna do it right with you." He explains
"Good because if you put me through that again. Wakanda will be the least of your damn worries." You say to him and he nods giving you his word, sealed with a kiss.
"It'll be alright. Everything happens for a reason. And I think that right now a bath needs to happen and I'm gonna need you to do that thing again that you did in the kitchen cause I'm tryna figure out when you learned that-"
At some point after the bubble bath/ shower combo you were both out like a light until Iri and Tika decide to come busting in like they usually do with little gifts and food for you.
"Guess who's your fave- SHE GOT A WHOLEASS MAN IN HER BED" Iri announces to Tika before your pillow hits the door as she closes it.
"Sorry about that. This is kinda our cuddle hour so they're used to just coming on in." You say sleepily and he just laughs it off while holding you closer.
"It's all good. I remember that I ain't know them much before but when we did spend time with them, they were good people." He says, still trying to piece it together.
----
You fell asleep more peacefully than you had in a long time. Now granted, good sex didn't fix the many layers of issues and mysticism surrounding everything.
But for now, you knew that you had him, you had your girls, family and your business. Everything felt alright again.
Right up until the point of sleeping through the first alarm to meet the property owners.
"Bae. Bae your phone going off." N'Jadaka whispers in the dark room , voice still riddled with sleep and grogginess.
"Shit. Shit. I'm gonna be so late." You call out , quickly jumping out of bed and stumbling around the room.
It takes you about 25 minutes to speed through getting dressed in your best skirt suit.
N'Jadaka sits on the end of the bed putting on his shoes and watching you shuffle around.
He had offered to drive you there and stay with you and check out the property with you.
He slows you down by grabbing you by your arms gently and placing a kiss to your lips.
"Good morning, handsome. Let's go"
You walk through the living room with Iri and Tika already posted up in the kitchen placing two breakfast burritos in a container to grab and go.
You grab your things from the counter all while thanking them and jetting towards the door.
"Good luck pooh!" Tika calls after you.
"Byyyyeeee Dakaaaa" they call out after him

"Here it is . These are the apartments. I know they don't look like much now from the outside. But from the pictures it looks great. And they'll be safe and comfortable here-" you babble on to N'Jadaka while you both stand outside of the building where Erik grew up , until you notice two women walking to  a car that clearly wasn't from this area.
You notice Shuri and your breath hitches in your throat.
Frozen in your anxiety, the seconds ticked by and it was too late to leave. She looked you dead in the eye and then at N'Jadaka like she had seen a ghost.
She gasped and Nakia followed the eyes before back into the car.
"SHURI WAIT - PLEASE" you yell out to them but the car was already speeding  away.
