My mother in law finished my first book in the trilogy I’m writing and I’m dead because she loves it skjndjkdhidj she read the last hundred fifty pages in nearly one sitting and said it’s the strongest part of the book but that it’s well worth how “slow” the beginning is because by the time shit starts going down you really know the characters well I’m dead. she’s weird as hell about books and it’s not her genre but I live with her and I know she wouldn’t be able to fake liking it she can be mean as hell pfpflkjf

Hey guys, so I just wanted to say that I’m probably not going to be putting out much writing for a bit. Like right now, I’m not actively working on writing anything. I feel kinda shitty about not writing though :/
I will probably (most likely, don’t want to say “definitely” though cause I know myself) put out some more short prompts/maybe some snippets in the next while but probably not any long pieces. Maybe. I don’t know maybe inspiration will strike tomorrow and this will all be a lie. But as of now, yeah.
please stick with me here though I promise I’ll get back to writing soon.
I was also thinking about doing whumptober again, not sure if I will do it for a new series with characters or miscellaneous fills. Let me know?

#books#i <3 secondhand books they are the most special and precious to me#mass market paperbacks my beloved#the used bookstore i go to most has a little second labelled for Douglas Adams but i rarely see anything actually by Douglas Adams there#so this was a big day to be me#i also check the Asimov section every time i’m there for either I Robot or Foundation so very excited to find one of them this time#Mistborn was a great find because again i check for it regularly and my friend has been bugging me to read it for ages#so that’s very very exciting#and then Emma i mostly got because my mum wants me to read more Austin#and i want to read my Austin too and this was the one with the nicest cover this time#i wanted to get more Anne of Green Gables books but I’m on the 4th one and the copy they had was in very rough condition#also i had $14 worth of credit to spend today and idk how that happened but it was sick#spent less than $20 on all of these :]

This book I’m reading is so good I’m genuinely mad that I put off reading it
#before any of you get excited thinking i’m about to recommend high class literature it’s an ice planet barbarians book#specifically barbarian’s choice#i was like ‘hmm i mean i Like farli but i’ve been enjoying the formula of human x sa-khui romances’#but i wanted to read something that wouldn’t require too many of my brain cells because honestly i did a lot today. so i picked it up#and oh my godddddddd#SO good. literally so so good. i was ready for mardok to be some boring green alien; like i’d braced myself for him to have weird feet#or something like that. but he’s modern sahk??? which is somehow the absolute BEST thing he could’ve been#i’m squealing and kicking my feet in bed it’s SO good. farli is adorable. mardok is hot. mardok’s crew are dicks#the worldbuilding is chef’s fucking KISS i am living#maybe my standards have eroded after nearly a dozen books of people boning down in caves but i’m obsessed with this#i think i’m going to finish this series honestly. like i blitzed through the novellas for absolutely no reason#would anyone want me to rank them? would literally anyone on planet earth be interested in that? fuck it i might do it anyway#honestly as it stands now; this book is easily my favourite. maddie’s book is second and kira’s is third#tiffany’s probably fourth. then josie’s. and i have a soft spot for the holiday novella#bottom of the list would be stacy’s book and potentially georgie’s and liz’s. maybe asha’s as well unfortunately#harlow and lila were great but not my absolute favourites#personal

Making a list of the books I read this year, and the Range of shit is so funny bc on one hand I’m like ‘hmm idk if I’ll count the Animorphs, they’re only like a hundred pages each and I just read them for a bit of fun’ (as if I don’t read books in general, for a bit of fun) and then also I’m like ‘wow idk if I can put Worm on the list since it’s kind of its own thing and also unfathomably long’
