Formation of Navya Entertainment

Navya Entertainment, according to Google is one of the best India DJ services in New Jersey, as a matter of fact, in the United States.

We are an entertainment company based in New Jersey mainly focused on Indian weddings and other events. We are a high-quality DJ and emceeing service along with associated services such as stage lighting, dry ice, cold sparkles, etc. to make your event spectacular. Delighting our customers is our number one priority. Along with DJ services for the events, we also provide Hindi/Urdu song writing services for the independent artists such as Neel Nadkarni and for the independent films.  

Everyone has dreams and aspirations in life, dreams and aspiration give our life a new dimension. We live in New Jersey. We as a family went to attend the wedding in Salt Lake City in Utah in July 2023. Just before I left for the wedding, my manager called me in his office, it looked like he wanted tell me something but since I mentioned I am going to Utah to attend the wedding, he didn't say what he wanted to say. We attended the wedding in Utah and came back to New Jersey. The very day went back to the office, I learned that half of the staff is getting lay off and since I joined as an independent contractor, my name was on the list as well. This didn't make me nervous at all. I remember going into park and complete one of the incomplete poems that I didn't complete for years. One of the benefits of being an immigrant is that you are confident that you could start all over again.

The idea of forming Navya Entertainment stemmed from my mind while studying Marketing Management at Rutgers University. We started with small events such as baby showers and birthday parties and then diversified our business in an Indian wedding market based on marketing research. When the pandemic hit in 2020 and the entertainment businesses were heavily impacted, Navya Entertainment channeled its creative energy to create two original Hindi songs filmed in a Tri-state area. Other than the services mentioned earlier, our Unique Selling Proposition is a digital game such as “Who wants to be a millionaire” (or “Kaun Banega Crorepati”) that will make your wedding a “never seen before” event.

I started with a gig in upstate New York. It was 4 hours long drive. Since no one else was available, I went with my dad. I got a great response and I was so happy. It's been 5 years now and if you search for Indian Djs in New Jersey or Indian DJs in United States on Google, Navya Entertainment's name will comes up in Top 10.

Learning Discipline from Mr.Amitabh Bachchan (Day 1- Basement Finish Project)

Amitabh Bachchan has been writing blog for more than 7 years without missing any post. He may have missed while he was hospitalized, which is of course negligible. I cannot be discipline for longer period. Whether it’s a social media usage or any work. I have been trying to control social media usage for few years. I had deactivated my Facebook account and deleted Whatsapp for some months, but I want to keep in active mode, and control the usage. I have tried several ways. I told my mind that using social media at work is like breaking any other principal like eating meat and drinking alcohol. I have quit both of these around 5 years ago and I have been successful in that. Anyways, Amitabh Bachchan once mentioned a story of his father Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan. His father once asked Amitabh, his brother Ajitabh Bachchan and couple others to help him lift a bulky stone from road by his house. Somebody asked him how did he brought the stone here and Harivash Rai Bachchan replied this stone was couple of far away and he liked the stone, so he started pushing the stone. He was moving the bulky stone couple of inches everyday and after few months, he was able to bring the stone to their home. This is discipline. I want to incorporate this kind of discipline in my life. I know it’s hard, but my intentions are genuine. I have selected my unfinished basement project as an example. I have started the project more than a year and half ago but couldn’t finish it. I have started working again today, and let’s see how I will do. Here are couple of shots.

Meeting with sir Amitabh Bachchan

Back Ground :

First time I met sir in New York in May 2013, yes that peaceful lengthy meeting during his visit  for The Great Gatsby premier and a personal affair. I met with MC,JJ, Mousumi, Lakshmiji, Azeeza Ali,Rochelle and couple of others folks.(MC - I hope you forgot that burger thing !) Later, sir started following me on Twitter after Meenuji’s requests. After that meet I was able to connect with him couple of times. Just before 72nd birthday, I showed one of my sketch (From Black to MC and he suggested to send that to sir, but I was aware of some of the flaws in that sketch so I decided to sketch a new one. Took a screenshot from one the video Ishtar uploaded and selected a shot from MKS. The sketch was sent to sir with the help of Nanditaji on 72th birthday. I have also submitted for fan pick of the week. Sir had posted MKS sketch on FB which gained 235000 likes...we all know how kind he is.

Also, on 11th October, with the help of Fatima, we (Hitesh, Sanjiv, Deepak and I) were able to talk with the man himself over the phone live on airwaves of Radio Zindgi. As my little one Navya shares birthday him and he wished her upon my request.

We were planning to go to India ( the people who don’t know , I live in USA), I requested Fatima while ago that I want to meet sir with couple of my friends who I believe are huge admirers of sir. Fatima told me to contact when I land in India.

Sorry for boring you with stories before meet but I felt that I should give little background. 

In India :

I spent couple of days to get SIM on my phone. I let Fatima know that we are in India. Two of my friends who I wanted to go with were Manish and RJ Sheetal. Sheetal is RJ and work for Radio Mirchi and Manish is my childhood friend with whom we watched lots of AB films. I didn't receive any call from Rozy, so I have bothered Fatima again and she informed me that Rozy will call you. I remembered how Rubina was making sure that phone is charged, I did the same thing. We were planning to celebrate my daughter Ahana’s birthday in India and my family was trying to decide what should be the date. I asked for couple more days because I didn't want to be in conflict situation. And finally received a call from Rozy around 25-26 February 2015 and she said that your meet will be on 3rd March but it’s not 100% confirmed yet, I will call you back tomorrow. I clarified that I will be with friends and she said that’s fine. I was so happy. I didn't let Sheetal and Manish know yet. I let Sheetal know and she was very excited and she was trying hard to get leave from her work. Next day she informed that her boss want everybody in her team to attend a meeting, no exceptions, unfortunately she couldn't make it. I asked my wife if she wants to join me with Navya as Sheetal was not coming anymore.

 One of my other friend Bhargav asked me how am I going to Mumbai and I told him that I am going to rent a vehicle and he asked me if he can bring us to Mumbai. I clarified that I may not be able to bring him in. And he was fine with that. 

I informed Manish about the meet and he said that he will get day off without any issue.

3rd March, 2015 

The time I was given was 5:30 PM.My home Valsad is 31/2 to 4 hours away from Mumbai, so people were suggested me to leave around 1 PM. But Bhargav and I decided not to take any chance so I requested everyone to be at my home by 10:30 AM and plan was to leave by 11 AM. Bhargav arrived on time. I asked Manish to print couple of photographs or autographs. I gotta mention this filmy incident : When Manish went to studio for printing, the man in studio was asking him what he is going to do with AB pictures and he replied he may meet AB today. The guy gave him weird smile in return.

Anyways as we left early, we were in Juhu by 3 PM. We found Jalsa first and I asked security man where  Janak isand he directed us. We found Janak. Upon asking, Janak security man suggested (very politely) to come at 5 PM. After talking with security people of Jalsa and Janak, Manish made a comment that all of AB’s people are very sincere and kind, AB must have told them to behave good with his fans. 

We were hungry so we decided to eat, also I wanted to dress appropriately. During lunch, I received a call  from Rozy and she said that time has changed from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM. I dressed up and we have purchased a flower bouquet. 

We have parked our car and arranged things.

Everyone was excited. I asked Bhargav that if you wouldn't be allowed then you will to wait in car, he said that’s fine.  Even Manish was ready to sacrifice. We went to main gate and we all were allowed. 

My mind was elsewhere. I was feeling deep compassion and love within me while entering, like I am entering some divine premises. Beyond imagination. I have observed idols of gods and goddesses outside with some fresh yellow flowers.

We were in Janak by 5:25 PM, we were escorted on 1st floor waiting area and my Navya started behaving. She was crying and making lot of noise in the office. My wife brought her outside to entertain her. As soon as she brought her back after few minutes she started crying again. One of the staff member asked us to let her play and make her noise. Finally she started playing a game in my wife’s Samsung galaxy. I can’t express how I was feeling observing his office. I was thinking about the rough period of 90s and second innings. The power of one man. The power of values and principles.

Around 5:45 PM. director/actor Tinu Verma arrived in the office. He said hi to all of us and we showed respect by touching his feet. He went to one of the office and started chatting. (There are at least two Gujaratis working in Janak). 

It was 6 PM and so everyone was looking at the door. After 10 minutes, Manish said that sir is coming, he figured out from reflections on the glass. Within few seconds, AB arrived in the room. Everyone started touching his feets and as usual he said “ Do not do this”. He tapped on Navya’s shoe said “nice shoes”. I thanked him first and let him know that our trip was there for three weeks. He said : “I received an email that you want to meet, and I said why not ?”. My wife said that sir you are looking younger in person than on screen. He said “ Aisi to koi baat nahin hai, people say that I am getting older and older”. I pointed towards Navya ans said “She is Navya”.

I requested 3-4 autographs. One of them was a piece of paper by a 9rd grade student requesting his autograph. He read that then autographed.

I have gifted 786 badge which Ishtar and I customized. I mentioned that we had ordered  three badges, one of them is with Ishtar, one of them is with me and this is the third one. I have explained him that these BOMBAY DOCK MOGUL LINE 786 badges are larger and thinner than the one in the film. His smile was priceless here.

I asked if I could hug him and I hugged him. Don’t have picture of that but what a warmth feeling full of love. 

All these happened within 5-7 minutes. Looks like, he had a meeting with Tinuji, so he told us that he had to rush.He shouted “Tinu” and he exited the room to climb up to the second floor.

Fortunately, Navya stayed very peaceful during visit.

Thank you so much Fatima, this would not have been possible without you.

No need to mention that everyone was extremely happy while coming out from the Janak.

Body movements are the key to health

We all are surrounded by materials, on each and every step we broke nature’s rules. Naturally our body requires movements, exercise and labor. After the introduction of machines, humans have been avoiding bodily labor. For the ease and comfort, we never realized that we  have compromised with our health. On top of use of materials to avoid bodily labor, we also started consuming unhealthy foods.

In a tight work schedule, it seems hard to go to gym or wok out. In this kind of life, it is necessary to make certain principles in life. Principles not to eat certain type of food. I am the type of the person who cannot stick to the limit, so it is easier to quit certain foods

Energy Management

Sometimes I wonder how body functions.I wake up around  I get up around 5:30 am to 6:00 am and try to leave for work around 6:30 am to 7:00 am. There is a one to one and half hour drive to work. I start work around 8:15 am to 8:30 am and then leave from work around 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm. 

Someday I feel very energetic while some days I feel sleepy and tired. I tried to find out the reason. I thought insufficient sleep may be one of the reason and I had 8 hours sleep and yet I was sleepy during driving and at first couple of hours in the morning. I found an interesting article that weather change (winter to spring) can  play a role.

Heavy meal during lunch can make one sleepy and that is understandable but even after enough sleep, feeling sleepy is disappointing. As I ruled out sleep, the next experiment I want do is to do Art of Living (AOL) Sudarshan Kriya and note down the energy feelings in a diary to monitor the energies on the days I do Sudarshan Kriya in the morning. Plan is to cut sleep and utilize that time to do Sudarshan Kriya.

From the past undocumented experiences, Sudarshan kriya was very helpful and positive, so hopefully someday  I shall be able to correlate Sudarshan Kriya with better energy level.

Good Friday Holiday

Today is Good Friday, a day off from work. So many things to do in to do list, usually I end up doing nothing and then at the end of the day feeling of non-accomplishment. This always happens with me on holidays. I must utilize my day off to take care some of the tasks which I think about during work days. It's all about how smarty you use your energy. Sometime I spend my time watching videos on YouTube, not the best way to spend time like that. Only get an inspiration is not enough, to obey and transform those inspiration is even more important. Those videos some times may drag me towards subjects and waste of energy. Here where I think of teaching of Bhagavad Gita. How to use energy in productive things and how can you stay away from subjects by paying attention on God. The Bhakti and Bhajan - Kirtan are some of the things Bhagavad Gita suggests. I tried them and seemed to be working. Spiritual growth is essential in human's life. Here is what I found which is interesting. Making certain principles in life make us use our energy in better ways. My battery is low. I better post this before I lose it. Trushar

Meeting with Amitji

May 4th 2013, Group : Mahendra Chaudhari, Jennifer, Rochelle, Jasmine Jaywant, Azeeza Ali, Mausami with her husband Santonu and cute Soham,Laxmiji and of course my self.. Laxmiji flew from Florida and Mausami and her small but sweet family drove 12 hours from Atlanta to get to New York City. Santonuji has driver whole night. Everybody else were in New Jersey and New York area but we left early.  I reached in a meeting area little too early. we all met in the reception area of the hotel where of course Amitji is staying. Hotel was luxury. We greeted and complimented each other. Everybody brought some gift for Amitji / Jayaji / Little Princess Aradhya. We were then brought upstairs in a meeting hall. We were not able to believe whatever was happening, I was pinching myself to make sure it is not a dream. We were waiting for few minutes , arranging chairs here and there. we have created a small circle. I had few photographs of Amitji , so didn’t mind sharing them. I was planning to buy high definition camera but didn’t get a chance to buy so I was hoping that somebody should bring high-definition camera. And when I saw Santonuji’s (EF- Mausamiji’s husband ) camera I felt good because I believe that when we all would be cherishing these moment in future photographs should be able to bring those moments back very effectively. Everybody was chatting with other and he he comes!! Amitji was wearing maroon jacket and looking bright with glasses smile and we all got emotional, we started hugging him, Mausami became very emotional and she started crying. Amitji very politely and calmly sat down in a chair in front of us. Rochelle said : You don’t have to lift me Trushar !! ( On the day of premier we were trying to lift her so that she can see Amitji !!) then we talked to him about an hour very peacefully , like a good friend . I was like walking on flowers in mild cold evening, it was like breeze on the mountain, ever fresh and like a perfect dream. A dream was manifesting in a reality for each of us.  We shared our personal stories , we expressed how much do we love and admire him. And we were able to see equal love towards us -EF. He really love each of us. Whether or not we meet him or no. I really like Amitji’s answer when I asked “Sir, Do you know me? , Amitji said ” I know everybody”, “Sir may name is EF” I replied. After a long talk, we started taking photographs. One by one. We were hugging him, we were trying get his blessings, we tried to touch his feet (as usual he said “Don’t do this”) .  Then we took Amitji’s autographs. I took his autographs on Madhushala, Meri ki shreshtha kavitayein by Harivanshrai Bachchan . I had one doubt about one poem ‘Sonmachhari’, he cleared it. My question was I didn’t know what does it mean when fisherman gets ‘Sone ki Pari’ instead of ‘Sonmachhari’ he relied there is no symbolic meaning of it , it means one should not be attached to the weath or gold . Mausami requested that she want to sing a song, Amitji allowed her while signing autographs for myself and Rochelle. And she started singing ” Ab to hai tumse har khushi apni” ( I was thinking that bengali people are gifted!!) she was singing without any musical instrument flawlessly. She was very emotional and yet she sang so well so we all should appreciate her for that. She has dedicated her singing to Amitji and Jayaji. Everybody brought some gift to give it to Amitji. Azeezaaji and Rochelle had some cute gifts for Aradhya. And Rochelle and Mausami started hugging him again, so environment become full of love and emotion. I hugged him again. We all didn’t want him to go but that was our greed Jasmineji added. Jasmineji was suggesting me multiple times to join Hindi Cinema and I told Amitji while hugging sir I want to become an actor, he said why not? My love toward Amitji brough me close to him, similarly my love towards hindi cinema bring me closer to Hindi Cinema one day. So we emotionally departed but we were extremely happy , we could not believe what just happened.

Girl....girl...girl....girl...boy and stop....!!

Delhi gang rape has shocked the whole country. That indecent was not one of the thousands incidents which we forget easily, it was an incident which has changed the thinking of thousands across the country. Even though I was thousands of miles away I felt the vibrations and it certainly transforms something in me which I can't express. I suddenly became concern about my sisters and friends in India. I called them talked to them and felt good. I thought a lot about the incident and that again made me think about social mold. I tried to analyse mentality of the society and in most of the cases I found that people would only stop having kids when they have at least one boy other they wouldn't stop. The most common patterns are girl...boy...stop,girl...girl...boy...stop, girl...girl...girl...boy...stop etc.I am not going far, in my own family my all uncles and aunties have at least one boy. They would not stop till they have a boy. There are people who have seven girls just to have a boy. Well, at least they are better than the thousands of others who kill the baby girls before they come to this world. And as it was shown in female foeticide episode of Satyamev Jayate, this is being done in so called educated class and in cities more than the villages. The same people would worship goddess during Navratri, It's a real shame. Agree that some of my guess could be wrong, for example some people may conceive by an accident but the possibility is very less.

No matter how show off our society does, we have to admit that our society is double standard as far as gender is concern. Inequality is everywhere, from college to work place. It's very common to see boys teasing girl(s) who is(are) walking on the streets. If a boy really like the girl he should approach the girl and honestly ask her but he should make sure she is comfortable when he follows her.

I have two daughters and bunch of people already asked me, don't you want to have a boy? I said No. I am happy with two kids. The other day one of my close relative was asking me, are you sure you are happy with two girls? I said I am happy, but she thought I am pretending to be happy , but in real, I am not!! And this question has been not only by Indians, by other races at my work place too. So, this inequality is global. This inequality will end, but it would take time, probably the whole century..!
