any azul thought 2 sequel cwumbs? 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 pwease? 🥺🥺🥺🥺
but jokes aside, i am willing to wait for it!!! even if it takes forever!!! i’m really excited for what you have in-store for us, and with tmdg dropping soon oooooohh i know its going to be a ride 😩😩😩😩
but any crumbs from u is a already a delight!! thank u for slaying always 😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰☺️☺️☺️
Your crumbs, my liege. (˘ ˘ ˘) 💖 please enjoy the tiny offering.
I just know poor darling is sweating because she's sitting there pregnant with Azul's baby. >_< aaaa the drama... it's too scary!!!
Since Azul thought two sequel came in second place in the poll I posted a while ago, it will be next on my list. Currently the priority list is as such:
✧ the most dangerous game (yan!jade)
✧ sex by the sea (short smut scenarios with the cast from lost in the book with stitch)
✧ heartache hospital (yan!scaramouche)
✧ azul thought two sequel
✧ the crocodile's dilemma (yan!dr. riddle)
✧ moonbroch (yan!octavinelle; sequel to sea glass)
✧ eternally ever after (yan!rook)
I'm really happy so many are looking forward to the sequel. T^T <3 I never thought Azul thought two would ever become so popular or well-liked enough to warrant want for a sequel, so I'm very grateful!!!!! Thank you for your patience, sweet anon!!! I will do my best to write an enjoyable sequel!!!!! ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́ )ᕗ
And also,,,, thank you for looking forward to tmdg!!!!!! >0< it will definitely be a ride. I've listened to so many fluffy love songs (and songs about sex) while writing it. Chase Atlantic defined the writing process for Azul thought 4; this time it's Laufey and wave to earth for tmdg!!! If anyone thinks I am a Jade Leech lover after I post this fic, that is not true. I am actually his hater (lover) and I can't stand him (I love him) and he is ugly (so cute and pretty and handsome) and I need to gnaw on him (I am gnawing on him as we speak)!!!!!
#sweet messages#thank you for always enjoying the crumbs i sprinkle throughout!!!! ♥️ ✨ ♥️ ✨#i will continue slaying hehehe >:D

New route companion theories
As Scarlet hollows getting a new route in which we don’t go with Stella and devs in stream saying something along the lines that (lightheartedly) “Stella haters” will like the route makes me believe that she won’t be our main companion in this version.
Stella, unlike the others, did always feel less optional so I’m curious if she takes a more backseat role (I highly doubt she’ll be irrelevant after all just more optional) I was wondering who’d take her place - these are my theories (feel free to share your thoughts as well):
Kaneeka
Avery
Tabitha
Wayne
Kaneeka is my main theory as it’s possible we could end up at the store in 1 to explore and she’d be able to drag us into the mystery once Stella contacts her to investigate. Also devs have indicated that Ep 5 is Kaneeka’s focus episode and that some of the content being added (such as Kaneeka clinic route) will help her arc flow more smoothly. This, as well as the fact Kaneeka did feel more optional for one of the main three (devs have referred to Tabby, her, Stella as this a couple times) makes me think it’ll focus on her more.
my second theory is Avery as they are a friendly and curious outsider who catches on that we don’t exactly fit here - they are also curious about the mystery and supernatural and would likely find it fun to investigate with a Scarlet.
my third (and these are the ones I’m less confident on) is Tabitha - we might be able to head up to the mines in 1 and explore, or at least explore the estate more and get more insight into her. It’s also possible if we don’t go into the woods (tbh I feel like we still might? Dilemma wise?? Not sure) we’ll get to the estate early which she’ll prefer and be able to have her arc of either ice queen or deforesting ice queen depending on how MC bonds with her. However she’s pretty standoffish and has a lot of mystery around her which I doubt the devs will want to reveal and might not want MC with her even more, also she has a job so she’ll be busy.
my last is Wayne. He basically just stalks you more in this scenario. Idk.
#Scarlet hollow#scarlet hollow theory#My post#kaneeka forsyth#Avery Belle#Tabitha Scarlet#Wayne scarlet hollow#I’m most confident on Kaneeka overall#I do feel like while Oscar might be more prominent he probably won’t be as main as Stella was even in this route#Also I doubt it’ll be Joan and Reese as Joan’s busy doing her thing and Reese is sick at this point#Also I think their (especially Reese’s) introductions had more power being revealed later on - maybe we could see Joan earlier but briefly#Feel free to tag or comment your theories (:#This was written messily in a rush 😅 sorry if it’s confusing

Rey Rant
I want to preface this with, this is not me hating on Rey. This is me hating on her writing, which I think most can agree is bad, and critiquing her character. But obviously, if you disagree with some of this, you are perfectly entitled to.
I was just watching a TikTok video about how many female characters in Star Wars and other pieces of media that are shown to be strong female characters, are just characters that have received their character development prior to the movie or show and are really just there to help the development of the other male characters in the movie or show
The main examples being Leia and Padme they both know what they’re going to fight for, and are sure of themselves from a young age, and really just act as catalysts for the development of their love interests
Then he explained when they try to write female characters with flaws, they are typically not as well received as male characters who are similarly flawed
Other people were listing examples of this like Hera and Omega and stuff so I was thinking
Rey is a prime example of this in my opinion. I don’t really think she has a huge character flaw in the movies. They Don’t really do a good job of showing her working to achieve the specific goals that could otherwise make her character more dynamic. She learns how to pilot the falcon almost instantly. She learns how to use the force and the light saber with very little training. There’s no reason for her to be able to do any of these things this quickly, but the movies didn’t really give her that chance to struggle with her new powers. She also has a strong, moral compass from the beginning and well that can work because Luke also had that, she loses a lot of that intrigue when she does have the power to go with it. Again, kind of portraying her as this perfect woman. Which in some cases can be fine to a degree if written well, but I think the issue with why she doesn’t work as well as Leia and Padme to me. Is that she is meant to be the protagonist
I think it’s clear that the movies were written in a way that Finn or Kylo could more easily fit the role of protagonist. Specifically Finn. They both have interesting back stories prominent flaws (at least in TFA) and moral dilemmas, that could be developed over the movies. But I’ve always seen Rey as very stagnant. At least till TROS where they didn’t know what the fuck they were doing and threw everything out the window, but that’s a whole other story.
Rey was set up to be one of those Leia or Padme characters but she wasn’t put in the right role to carry out that type of characters job. And I’m not saying that’s what they should’ve done. It’s bad they keep doing this. I’m just saying they suck at writing women no matter how they do it, and they really shot themselves in the foot with her.
They’re too scared to make female characters not perfect. And when they do try to make them flawed, these female characters, get overly criticized by sexists, and Disney likes to listen to the haters more than the real Fans. (Cough acolyte)
anyway, that’s all I got just had to get this off my chest

I have a friend I’m not too sure about. It feels like my intuition but I also keep gaslighting myself into feeling like I’m just overthinking. But I am just not really sure about her. She’s jokingly rude to me but also always compliments me and also stares at me a lot at work from afar. Sometimes if it’s us and our other friend, i would say something and then said friend would look at the other. That’s one thing alone I do not like. It completely rubs me the wrong way. Ive already made up my mind that after I find another job and quit, I would slowly distance myself from them but I just wanted to know if I’m being sensitive, overthinking, or something might be up.
no your gut feeling is 100% valid. i feel like we’ve all been there with that “friend” that is just a hater that wants to be around us essentially. and i’m of the school of thought that slowly removing myself is just an inconvenience to me. i like to cut people off. straight like that. but i do understand your work dilemma. but move on honey. that’s not a friend. as my grandma used to tell me: there’s a difference between friends and people that you just play with.
real friend 101 🎀:
only ever wants to uplift you
is there to support you and expects vice versa
is willing to talk out conflicts with you
doesn’t insult you
isn’t rude to you
you feel safe with this person
admires you, but isn’t jealous of you

Hey Zal! Oldish fan here haven’t been on tumblr in 2 years had to get another account as always love your posts and your writing you are insanely talented wishing you nothing but a great future especially in that craft we need writers like you in this world it’s very rare you really get into the headspace of the characters and the plots I read your Stelena/ Bonkai and Steferine/ Stelena fics and Jonsa which was extremely beautiful and angsty like WOW I actually could hear these characters saying these things. I feel you really understand your characters and how they work and you put a lot of thought into your plots and the characters dilemmas they are all a real treat to read. I caught up where I left off the steferine stelena fics had me on the edge of my seat constantly if it wasn’t the smut it was the dialogue, the situations, and the inner turmoil of Stefan and Elena which you have a great understanding of and I could FEEL them you really GET them like that shit was beautiful. The last ones I’ve read and will continue to re read this week because they were awesome and hilarious was the change and guilt fic that was awesome and the dullena sex tape thing had me dying and Elena imagining her and Stefan the whole time that WOULD happen😂❤️ too funny and hot. Anyway without making that anymore longer than it needs to be I’m glad to be back and enjoying your blog and your stories again you have really good insights and it’s genuinely a good time on here even when certain anons are being haters (I don’t know where that comes from and I’m genuinely annoyed for you) your amazing and I will stay tuned for whatever you do next❤️❤️
Oh, this is such a lovely message, thank you so much!

In the books Jon never fight face to face with Ygritte at the Wall unlike the show. In the show when Ygritte pointing her arrow to Jon but unable to kill him, Jon was actually happy to see her despite her wanting to kill him. In books he was commanding the battle from tower and have dilemma about shooting Ygritte. But we never shown what would have been if Ygritte gets hold on Jon. Would she killed him? Because she almost did when he left her. What do you think?
Sidenote: I was so annoyed after GoT when people tried to rewrite history and act like Jon killed Dany and Ygritte when, as you point out, in the show, Jon smiles at Ygritte and can't kill her! I guess it was easier to pretend he was a murderer of women/woman hater rather than admit Dany needed to be killed before she massacred more people but after they treated him the way they did in s7-8 I found that infuriating.
Anyhoo, Martin writes with a lot of room for us to draw our own conclusions. He doesn't outright say if it was Ygritte's arrow that got Jon:
"He lay on the ground afterward, clutching his prize and bleeding quietly, too weak to move. After a while, he realized that if he did not make himself move he was like to bleed to death. Jon crawled to the shallow stream where the mare was drinking, washed his thigh in the cold water, and bound it tight with a strip of cloth torn from his cloak. He washed the arrow too, turning it in his hands. Was the fletching grey, or white? Ygritte fletched her arrows with pale grey goose feathers. Did she loose a shaft at me as I fled? Jon could not blame her for that. He wondered if she'd been aiming for him or the horse. If the mare had gone down, he would have been doomed. "A lucky thing my leg got in the way," he muttered. (ASOS, Jon V)
In the show, Ygritte talks about killing Jon although the impression they gave the audience was that neither would have killed the other. Her words were presented in a way that conveyed she was extremely hurt by his betrayal, but when the opportunity came, she couldn't shoot him.
Book Ygritte was more vicious, more capable of killing Jon imo. She threatened him while he was with the FF and I don’t think it was entirely bluster. D&D romanticized their relationship overall which changed it’s purpose (and I don't think that was fair to Jon at all), but Martin is the one who gave them the soft send-off first, so even though they changed the lead-up, I didn't think it substantially changed their final moment:
He found Ygritte sprawled across a patch of old snow beneath the Lord Commander's Tower, with an arrow between her breasts. The ice crystals had settled over her face, and in the moonlight it looked as though she wore a glittering silver mask.
The arrow was black, Jon saw, but it was fletched with white duck feathers. Not mine, he told himself, not one of mine. But he felt as if it were.
When he knelt in the snow beside her, her eyes opened. "Jon Snow," she said, very softly. It sounded as though the arrow had found a lung. "Is this a proper castle now? Not just a tower?"
"It is." Jon took her hand.
"Good," she whispered. "I wanted t' see one proper castle, before . . . before I . . ."
"You'll see a hundred castles," he promised her. "The battle's done. Maester Aemon will see to you." He touched her hair. "You're kissed by fire, remember? Lucky. It will take more than an arrow to kill you. Aemon will draw it out and patch you up, and we'll get you some milk of the poppy for the pain."
She just smiled at that. "D'you remember that cave? We should have stayed in that cave. I told you so."
"We'll go back to the cave," he said. "You're not going to die, Ygritte. You're not."
"Oh." Ygritte cupped his cheek with her hand. "You know nothing, Jon Snow," she sighed, dying.
(ASOS, Jon VII)
I’m torn. I think she is reckless and angry enough she would absolutely risk his life, so her letting an arrow fly that *could* kill him seems in-character, but if she had him dead to rights and knew if she fired he would die? I’m actually not sure. Jon genuinely cared for her well-being, she was more interested in possessing him I would say, but all the same, I am doubtful about her following through on her threats/making the call when there’s only one possible outcome. I guess I’m hesitantly on team, Martin wouldn’t have written Ygritte killing Jon?

as a dedicated komahina fan the vs. naegami poll is conflicting bc i do not want my boys to win but also. it’d be funny. not to mention i have nothing against naegami it’s just there who cares. PLUS i’m also a dedicated saiouma hater (i see the irony but ppl act like they’re komahina 2 and they absolutely are Not) and i would love to see the carnage in the notes of a komahina vs saiouma poll. i want blood but i do not want komahina to advance this is a dilemma
Oh shit now that's a moral conundrum, make a second account and just vote for both of them

oh wise vanya please help me apparently my year of dignity and male-lessness decided to spice things up and now i’m in a Dilemma!
a bit (a lot) of context: so around two and a half years ago there was this guy who liked me and then confessed to me, at the time i liked him a little too but i think it was mainly because i liked the idea of liking someone and someone liking me?? if that makes sense.
so he confessed to me one day and i was like “oh i like you too lol” because i literally did Not know what to do in that situation and then it was lowkey awk because we mutually avoided each other at school 💀 we were really young tho BUT THEN like a month and a half later he was said he didn’t like me anymore (HE SENT THAT OVER TEXT LMFAO…) and i responded with “okay” (i realized that i didn’t really like him at that point too so i was kind of relieved tbh) it wasn’t even a relationship because bffr we didn’t even hold hands so why was bro being all like “let’s break up 😐” like… were we ever even together be honest
it was VERY awkward after that like lmao we wouldn’t even make eye contact but then a few months later we became close friends because we were friends before (idek how atp); then he moved away during the summer because he was going to some boarding school & we still kept in contact up until last summer
he got a girlfriend in may of last year?? and ever since then i’d been VERY distant like i didn’t talk to him at ALL because i have to uphold the girl code… apparently he told his girlfriend about me though and i’ve heard from a mutual friend that she doesn’t like me that much and disliked me even more after she found out that he had a saved folder of me in his photos (that’s on him tho bc wtf 💀 that’s kind of a Red Flag of him)
anyways back to today… i opened my snapchat after 8263872 days of being dormant and apparently he texted me for the first time since JUNE three weeks ago and i unknowingly left him on sent 💀💀
now i could either: a) open his message because honestly i am morbidly curious or b) leave his message to marinate forever and leave him on sent indefinitely
which would be more girlboss because i am done w men irl 😐 send help pls
ASH!!!!
liking someone purely bc you like the idea of liking someone and them liking you back is SO REAL
UGHH he is so middle school boy love.... the "let's break up" over text when the most ygs did was probably look at each other.... pukes
youre such a girl's girl, youre SO realness for not talking to him for the sake of girl code... ugh im sorry controversial opinion it irks me when ppl are angry at their s/o's ex... like u didnt even do anything to her, is it a crime to exist. if anything, she should be mad at HIM??? like who is the one keeping pictures of their ex? not you, so why are you literally the subject of her anger. ever since new years i've been trying to tone down my d1 hater tendencies but ouuuu that makes me to annoyed on your behalf like LEAVE HER ALONE 😡
i say... open the message. see what this bitchass has to say. i'm also kinda curious too. whether or not you respond is up to you, but if youre worried about girl code, i don't see an issue? he's the one doing shady stuff, your entire existence is not tied to him and your actions are independent of him, if that's hard for him or his gf to see then they clearly aren't mature does it kill them to use critical thinking
but if you DO leave him on sent... it would be pretty funny
everyone ditch his ass he deserves no one!!!!!

Never Let Me Go
Well, that was certainly a show! This one lost me along the way, but there were definitely things I liked. The first half of the show, before the beach getaway, was compelling if not perfect. I was interested in the characters and I thought the set up of the relationship dynamics was promising. The early love square between the four main characters had a lot of potential. Nueng and Palm had decent chemistry and I thought they performed their kisses pretty well. I was intrigued by Chopper’s character and his family dilemma. And there was some very nice cinematography, including the final beach sequence in the last episode. That was gorgeous.
That said, I feel like built in goodwill for these actors must have carried the fandom because most of that early promise was squandered and so much about this show just didn’t work. I also just realized that this was written and directed by JoJo, who also created The Warp Effect, one of my recent favs, and I am sitting with that because what a contrast not just in tone and themes but in assuredness of storytelling.
I probably have half a dozen different rants in me about where this show went wrong, but I’m sure no one wants to read that and I’m really just talking to myself here so I’ll keep it brief (hateration below the cut, enter at your own risk!):
Nueng is among the worst romance leads I have encountered in bl and nothing that happened over the course of the show moved my poor opinion of him. He was selfish and cowardly and thoughtless for most of the story and none of the facile attempts in the back half to demonstrate that he had matured worked for me at all. Putting him in a suit doesn’t make him a man and making the actor cry a lot doesn’t make me forget how awful he was to Palm.
Which brings me to the next major issue: Palm’s loyalty to Nueng despite all this had no meaningful basis. They barely knew each other, Nueng was mostly awful to him until they got to the beach and then again after they left it, and Palm had a whole life before he was forced to be his servant that we never really learned anything about. We never got any sense of who Palm was or why he loved Nueng. Maybe Nueng was the first boy who ever liked him? Maybe Palm was lonely and isolated and yearning and so he latched on to Nueng like a baby duck? I wouldn’t know because the show didn’t bother to tell me. At no point did Palm react like an actual human being to any of the awful things Nueng did. This kid treated him like shit, let him take his beatings and punishments, got his mom killed, drugged and abandoned him - and Palm just serenely smiled through it all (and got his name permanently tattooed on his body!!). One thing I’ll say for KinnPorsche is it actually showed the journey from Porsche resisting to accepting his role and gave me a reason to believe he would develop feelings for Kinn despite their rocky start. That didn’t happen here, they were just suddenly in love because the script demanded it.
The beach trip was a huge narrative misstep that sucked all the tension out of the show and basically torpedoed the plot. Yes, a lot of the scenes were cute, but they were not supposed to be on a lover’s getaway! Nueng was literally on the run from an assassin that already got both his parents, he’s supposed to to think his beloved mother is on her deathbed, he’s supposed to be terrified. Instead we got him relaxing at a beach resort, frolicking with Palm, declaring himself the happiest he’s ever been, and then blithely giving away their location without a thought so he could play hero only to lead the assassin right to them and get Palm’s mom killed anyway. Those episodes should have been more of a tense action thriller segment (and there still could have been romance built into that, and probably a more compelling one). The choice to make them a typical lighthearted bl beach trip was baffling.
If the romance worked better I might have overlooked that the plot is absurd on its face and falls apart at the gentlest prodding. I laughed out loud when Nueng just suddenly went back home and hired real bodyguards, which showed how thin the plot pretext had been all along. And now he’s a high school student/conglomerate CEO? Sure.
Why was this even set in high school to begin with? It would have made A LOT more sense with adult characters and then maybe they could have kept the tone more consistent. As it was it kept swinging wildly between being an adult mafia-adjacent drama and a teen romance and it never found a way to reconcile those two lanes.
Perth was easily the best actor in this cast but so underutilized while the mains were fundamentally miscast IMO. This show did not play to their strengths. There were a couple scenes where I actually cringed in sympathy at their attempts to perform the dramatic script. Please give them a slapstick comedy instead GMMTV (they would do well in a show like The Warp Effect!).
I’m just being petty now but what was UP with the music supervision on this show. Why did they play a random country song over their bed scene? And then Monsoons which has already been used in another bl drama and has such an opposite sonic vibe?? The music choices were often distracting instead of enhancing the story.
#n*ver let me go#thai bl#whoops i ranted anyway#don’t come for me if you like this show i respect you and your choices#i hope to see perth in other shows he was very good here despite limited screen time#shan shouts into the void

If anyone is unsuse about how good pure historicals can be, check this out. This is a fun adventure but also charged with this sorrow and melancholy of knowing there is no changing the past; a concept a bit weird for a time travel series but still it’s in these situations that Doctor Who leaves me the most breathless. Add that to the impecable chemistry of the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn Smithe and you have one of the best companion introductions ever.
Complete review: here.
◆ The Spectre of Lanyon Moor - ★★☆☆☆
The first time I listened to this release, I left with a bitter taste in my mouth. It was not the worst thing ever, but extremely average. I had a lot more fun in Lanyon Moor this time around, but I am sad to say my opinion didn’t change all that much. There are good things here - the main characters have stellar chemistry, I love the setting and the premise. But it’s a story that don’t leave much of an impression and, even if not bad, is quite forgetful.
Complete review: here.
◆ The Apocalypse Element - ★★★☆☆
I can acknowledge the good things about The Apocalypse Element as a war epic in a huge scale (Daleks vs Time Lords) but it’s not the kind of story I like, specially because I started Doctor Who in 2020. I feel it would be dishonest to call this a tradicional Dalek story, but if we ignore this is the first time this specific conflict was done - it’s still a tale of a bunch of Daleks trying to invade a planet and destroy the whole universe. What gets to me the most is that I’m not necessarily a hater of traditional stories - I love how Lucie Miller/To the Death builds beautifully upon that with a huge character focus on part one and Masters of Earth is an action epic that is delightful to hear -, but this one I just don’t get. The best thing in my opinion is by far the regulars (the Doctor, Evelyn and Romana), which are great and very well characterized. I think average is too harsh, so consider this one of the good stories I like the least.
Complete review: here.
◆ Bloodtide - ★★★★★
An energetic adventure and full of powerful images. Bloodtide is one of the best Silurians stories and a triumph as a historical. Bringing Darwin and them together is a really clever choice that opens a lot of opportunities to work around biology concepts and ideas within the interspecies relationships. This is also a narrative full of wonder - for Galapagos, for its characters, for all this background it wants to tell. And I go head on in wonder with it, it’s a tale that fascinates me. All of that plus one of the best performances for Six and Evelyn and you have one of my favorite releases of the Sixth Doctor.

I was just discussing this dilemma- it is SO hard not to argue with these crones. There is no getting through to them- they feel safe in their delusion (meanwhile they think we’re unreasonable and “only see what we want to see”- oh irony). When it comes to smaller toxic accounts I say let them be. But I’m torn with bigger accounts bc I almost feel like it’s important for fans who aren’t on “either side” to see the logical rebuttals, harmful rumors dispelled, and calling out of racist statements
Yeah, I agree, it's a conundrum.
I'm often torn between whether to post about the accounts (because the hate and racism needs to be addressed) or not (not wanting to give them the oxygen of more people looking at their posts, or potentially adding to their follower account through hater/lurkers here).
And the other problem is, no matter how small the account, once it's "out there", then it starts to take on a life of its own, and random comments on small accounts are taken as 'fact'.
I guess it depends how much mental energy you have for the argument each day.

chatgpt is a bad writer
as someone who enjoys reading, i find the uncritical love of the site frustrating. i’ve been trying to put my finger on this for a while and I finally figured out what is off about chatgpt. the program is good for the step between planning and writing. in general, when i hear fans of the new tech talk abt their uncritical love, it lacks the understanding of how the machine functions; they are love blind. all these a.i. generation machines are only as good as the ideas being put into them. if the user does not know the fullest extent of what they want to say, the machine will fail and produce circular, half-baked content.
i’m not an a.i. machine hater, i think these will be very useful machines. the issue is that the user needs to be smarter about how to utilize them. for example, watching my friend who uses midjourney to make art, i see them clearly have a plan of what image they want to create and have these very literarily dense texts inputted into the machine. in turn, their work is exact, precisely as they imaged. however, when i have tried—as i am not as versed with this tool—my text is much more simple. the output from my text is generic and incomplete. looking between our images, it is evident that my understanding of the tool lacks my friend’s depth. I do not know how to use it as well.
all and all, my dilemma with uncritical a.i. love reminds me of something my professor said before we started reading the Faerie Queene, “if you’re not careful, the text will play you.” we can not be lazy when it comes to using our tools. if we want to use a.i. to create thoughtful work, we need to be knowledgable about the machines we make the work with. A.I. requires us to be aware.
#c#ai#chatgpt#a.i. art#a.i.#honestly wrote this bc i was sitting in a cafe listening to a man rave about the machine without really understanding it’s function

Pregnancy Cravings
A/N: I really didn’t think this craving was real and the fact that people do this, haunts me. I will die as a peanut butter hater :) I just think that’s really important to know
Summary: Michelle has a craving in the middle of the night.
WC: 311
Tony groaned when he felt someone pushing his shoulder.
“Tony, wake up,” he heard his wife’s voice say. He looked over at the alarm clock that read 1:26 in the morning.
“What’s the matter?”
“I’m hungry.”
He resisted the urge to roll his eyes because her circumstances were half his fault. She was just a little over twenty weeks pregnant and her cravings were getting later and later into the night.
“What do you want?”
“Peanut butter?”
“What?” In the two years they’ve been married, he’s never seen this woman eat peanut butter, in fact, she despised it.
“I know, I know. This baby is trying to kill me,” she made a disgusted face.
“Just a jar of peanut butter?” He asked, pulling a shirt over his head.
“And… pickles?”
“Jesus Christ,” he murmured under his breath, but he’d do anything that she asked. “I’ll be right back,” he said, leaning down and kissing her lips before going down to the car.
His other dilemma was to now find a place that was open that had peanut butter and pickles and the problem was, the closest store was almost an hour away. The last person he’d ever want to piss off is Michelle, especially when she’s pregnant.
Two and a half hours later, he walked through their front door and made his way up to their bedroom. He found her fast asleep in the middle of the bed and bent down to gently wake her up.
“Sweetheart, I have your peanut butter and pickles.”
She opened her eyes, full of excitement, and grabbed the bag from him. She took a pickle out and inserted it into the jar of peanut butter before taking a bite.
“So good,” she murmured, doing it again. “Thank you, honey.”
“You’re welcome,” she smiled, even if that was the grossest combination he had ever seen.

The Fly 2 (1989)
The almost-human son of "Brundlefly" searches for a cure to his mutated genes while being monitored by a nefarious corporation that wishes to continue his father's experiments.
JayBell: Well well well...what to say about this gem. I went into this movie knowing that is was going to be a shit show. And it was! In that way, I guess you could say it met my expectations exactly.
I actually didn’t mind the plot on paper. The idea of a lab-raised, monster-spawn, former child experiment going on a justified rampage of revenge sounds pretty fun. I also liked the idea of Martin curing himself with the same machine that led to his disease. They even give Martin an interesting moral dilemma: you can cure yourself but only if you doom another person in exchange. The execution is where it falls apart entirely.
The writing is just not good, and the acting leaves much to be desired. The character motivations are juvenile. The lab’s supposed purpose is to use the teleporting machine in order to cure people, and they really want Martin to turn into Martinfly so they can kill and study him. But why? How is studying his dead monster corpse going to help the lab at all? The lab’s handling of Martin’s case is unrealistic even for this super unrealistic scenario.
Watching the romance was painful, and I wish they focused more on Martin’s treatment at the lab and less on romance. For one, they actually time skip over the development of the whole relationship (also what’s with the stupid fly fishing gag??). So I never developed any attachment to them as a couple at all. And when they had their big “conflict,” it didn’t really have the impact that it should have. The resolution happens like two minutes later with no drama and no consequences, so what’s the point of having that conflict at all?
A few other things to note: the doctor/lab lady was mean and cruel for no discernible reason at all, and the random security guard was similarly perverted just to be perverted and provide “conflict.” He also has an unreasonable amount of power for a guard.
On a slightly positive note, it’s just as gross as you’d expect it to be, which makes it gory and disturbing (all good for a horror movie).
All in all, it felt like they were trying to force a repeat of The Fly, but with worse writing, less emotional impact, and none of the charisma of Jeff Goldblum.
Rating: 2.5/10 cats 🐈
Anzie: I thought The Fly (1986) was traumatizing. Okay?? And yes, I thought about it for days after we watched it. Okay?? But this, THIS….. was somehow more horrifically traumatic than the 1986 movie. Okay??? And AT LEAST in that one we get to stare at a shirtless, nerdy, young Jeff Goldblum that despite the terrible hair…. (let’s just all be honest) was a looker. OKAY!!!! I will think about this until I black it out from my entire brain.
I knew it would be bad, but come on. The whole concept is out there, sure, but this this was Baaaaad. I thought the 5.1/10 on the internet was just haters not knowing true art when it was right in front of their faces. No a 5.1 is generous. The story is sooo boring and sloooooooow. And the concept that he’s five years old….just without anymore detail….. just gross. And why was the security guard such a gross freak?
And my bigggggest complaint is the dog. The poor dog! And how did they make it look like that?? And it was sooo sad. I had to look away. Actually scratch that, I have another complaint that might be more pressing. Had ANY of these people EVER seen a FLY????? Like it wasn’t enough to do the usual thing for special effects like they did in the first one- no they did that and then more! Like this thing was a giant evil gremlin. And the weird cocoons and goo on things. Ugggg. And scratch that bc my actual complaint that will haunt me FOREVER is Mr. Bartok getting what he deserves and being turned into a giant blob with just an eye and some teeth hanging out. I’m DONE. It was gross. Like they somehow did a good job with these awful things while also doing a terrible job. And I don’t know which has scarred me for life.
And least just be honest with ourselves okaaay for my own sanity. DO NOT tell me that there was no way Jeff Goldblum couldn’t have figured out how to turn himself completely human again. And THAT, that’s where the real problem of all of this lies.
Rating: 2/10 🪰 flies (it’s disrespectful we watched this the week before Jeff Goldblum turned 70)
