The Equipment Room
pairing: kuroo tetsurou x fem!reader
warnings: college!au, smut, swearing, daddy kink
word count: 3,014
a/n: i followed the stream and started watching haikyuu!! and here i am, writing kink for yet another fandom asdfghjkl! i’m not happy with this but i hope you’ll enjoy it! <3
-
Kuroo loved volleyball. He loved the feeling of adrenaline pumping through his veins as he played. The way he saved the ball or when he scored a point. He loved the way he felt when his team was winning. During his time at Nekoma he had learned a lot. Teamplaying, spikes, receives, faint attacks. When he was made captain of the Nekoma volleyball team he was honored. Of course his reaction to it was too be cocky. “Of course I became captain,” he had said with a smirk on his face. He was glad that he had Kenma with him and he couldn't have asked for a better setter.
But he also loved you. God, how he loved you. He was such a loser for you, but only you knew that. When you started your first year at Nekoma High School you'd never thought that you'd become manager for the boys volleyball team. There you'd learned how much a sport could put different people together, but also how noisy the boys there were; especially the captain of the team.
When Kuroo Tetsurou, the captain of the boys volleyball team started to flirt with you and give you compliments, you only brushed him off. “He's a fuckboy,” you'd thought. But when you started becoming warm with being manager and saw how he encouraged his teammates, lifting their spirits when they felt down and soon you fell in love with the “Scheming Captain” and started dating him.
He got on your nerves. His teasing was both funny and irritating. But one thing was for sure, the sex was beyond amazing. He would tease you during practice. When he knew you were horny and wanted him, he would use his shirt to wipe off his sweat instead of his towel. You'd watch him do it, seeing his abs. Your eyes would travel to his v-line and you would bite your lip. Imagining your lips around the crown of his cock. You'd squeeze your thighs together, but it would only make it worse. Kuroo knew what he was doing and you hated him, until he made you cum.
Now, Kuroo was in college and you were still stuck in high school, without him. Kuroo would come by Nekoma so he could see how his old teammates were doing and when his old squad wasn't watching he would kiss you; make out even.
Kuroo joined his college's volleyball team as soon as he had the chance and to his surprise Bokuto had chosen the same school. So here they were, in the school's gym and practicing together, Bokuto helping Kuroo with his receives.
“So, how's (y/n)?”
“Good.”
“Uh-oh, that doesn't sound good. You two had a fight?” Kuroo sighed and stood up straight. Bokuto held the ball in his hands and watched his friends face.
“No. It's just that these exams are killing me and I haven't seen her in a week. It's so frustrating since I saw her everyday in high school.”
“A week, huh. That's so sad.”
“Shut up, owl head.” The boys started laughing and suddenly the door to the gym opened and in walked... you.
“Ooooooh, it's (y/n)-chan,” Bokuto screamed out and sprinted towards you.
“Hi, Bokuto-san,” you answered back as you were tangled in a big hug by the grey and black haired boy.
“What are you doing here? Missed Tetsu?” he asked while batting his eyelashed at you. “Oi!” He then said as Bokuto felt a ball hit the back of his head.
“Sorry, the ball must've hit my hand wrong,” Kuroo answered with a smirk on his face.
“I leave you two lovebirds alone.” Bokuto said and exited the gym while rubbing his head. Kuroo could only laugh at him as you walked up to him.
“Was that really necessary?”
“Of course. The owl needs to know his place.”
“Tetsu, you don't have to call him that anymore. You're not in high school anymore and besides, you're both on the same team now.”
“He'll always be an owl to me,” you could only roll your eyes at his response. “Why are you here kitten?”
“Oh, right,” you said and started to fumble with your bag, clearly looking for something. “Here.” You handed him a bento box. “I talked with your mom and she said that you forgot to bring your dinner to practice so I thought I'd surprise you.”
“Well, I am surprised,” he took the bento box and pulled you into his embraced and kissed you. “I've missed you.”
“I've missed you too, Tetsu.” His lips were back on yours again. You opened your mouth and let his tongue inside your mouth. Your tongues both dancing with each other. “Tetsu-”
“Come with me.” He grabbed your hand, his hand intertwined with yours as he pulled you behind him and into the equipment room. Letting you go so he could close the sliding doors.
“Tetsu, what are you doing?”
“What does it look like I'm doing?” He answered, his gaze locked on you. A smirk plastered on his face.
“Tetsurou, stop. What if someone comes in?”
“Well, then you have to be quiet baby girl, can you do that for daddy?” God. This killed you. You were both scared and hella excited. The two of you haven't seen each other in a week so the sexual tension was sure to be high. You just didn't expect it to happen here.
The both of you had a daddy kink. You had somehow during intercourse moaned out daddy and if Kuroo didn't know know he could get any harder; he did now. Ever since then he had also started calling you “baby girl” when you were alone. It was only a nickname meant for you when the both of you were alone in the bedroom or wherever he chose to take you.
Kuroo placed the bento box you had given him on a shelf near the door while still having eye contact with you. His gaze never left even when he walked towards you. Now, in front of you stood a tall 6'2 man who you adored. Loved.
“Kuroo I don't think-”
“You don't have to think. Just feel,” god, it was hopeless arguing with the man but you didn't want to do it there because soon his teammates were gonna be on the outside, even though the thought excited you.
His hand touched your chin, lifting it up so you could look at him. He then bent down and kissed you, his tongue invading your mouth. His hands on your hips pulled you even closer to him so you could feel his bulge poking you through his shorts.
“Baby girl, I'm so hard for you,” Kuroo speaks as his lips travel to your neck. You tilt your head to the side to make it easier for him. You want him to stop, but also you didn't.
Kuroo turns your body 180 degrees so your back is pressed against your front, his hard on poking at your lower back. He starts to grind his pelvis against your ass, making his already hard cock grow even bigger. You moan out softly because god, do you want him.
“Hmm? What was that?” He asks as his hands that were on your hips starts to slowly caress your ass, squeezing each butt cheek and then slapping your right one. “You like that, baby girl?”
“Yes, daddy.” His left hand squeezes your left breast as his right starts to unbutton those skin tight jeans you chose to wear. Not that Kuroo didn't mind, quite the opposite; he loved them. The way they made that sweet ass of yours look tight and “smackable” as Kuroo had said eveytime you had them on, but now when he wanted them off of you, he hated them.
Once Kuroo managed to unbutton your pants he drags them with both of his hands down your legs, your panties following suit and pushes your back slightly forward so you have no choice but to grab hold onto the plinth that's in front of you.
“Kuroo, what if someone-” slap! A hand against your ass making you flinch and moan at the same time.
“It's daddy for you baby girl and don't worry. No one will come in here.” His left arm slowly caresses its way up until he reaches your front and drags your bra upwards, making your tits spring free. He starts to work his fingers on your sensitive nipple, making you moan out at the sensation.
Suddenly, his fingers are rubbing your slit, lubricating you all over. You hadn't noticed you'd even gotten this wet.
“Does this excite you, baby girl? The fact that anyone from my team can come in and hear you? See you?” His fingers continue to rub your heat, teasing you.
“Daddy, please.”
“Please what, baby girl?”
“Please-” he thrusts two fingers into your cunt, taking you by surprise. Your walls cramping around his fingers. Your hands grip the plinth harder and you try to suppress your moans, but in vain. You let a few slip out at the sensation. The way his fingers thrust into your tight heat and his other hand playing with your erect nipple makes everything feel so good.
Suddenly, voices could be heard from the outside, making you go stiff but Kuroo's fingers didn't stop. They kept going in and out of you, thrusting so pleasurably that you can't help but moan out, his name falling for your lips.
“If you don't keep it down we'll get busted and you don't want that right, baby girl.” The hand the had on your breast leaves only to be placed on your abdomen and travel down to your sensetive bud and start doing small motions.
“F-ffuuck,” a loud moan slips out from your mouth. His fingers curling upwards inside your cunt, hitting your g spot perfectly.
“Do you want them to hear us? Is that it baby girl?” His voice rough aganist your ear. His lips leaving a trail of kisses on the side of your neck.
“No, daddy.” The building sensation you recognize so often, every time you're with Kuroo in fact. “I'm close. God, I'm so close.”
“Yeah?” and he withdraws his fingers from your cunt. The empty feeling of missing his figers inside you has you a whimpering mess.
“Turn around.” Turning around to face him you see that he has pulled down his shorts and breifs. His shirt on the floor beside your feet.
“On your knees and show daddy what a good girl you are and suck my cock.” His right hand is fisting his length and slowly jerking it up and down. A pool of pre cum can be seen on the crown of his cock.
Getting on your knees on the floor you start to grab his cock with your hand but his hand stops yours before you can even grab it.
“No hands, baby girl.” Instead you look up at him, both of your gaze locking onto each other as you slowly open your mouth. His left hand grabs your chin, his thumb on your lip as he slowly psuhes his cock inside your mouth. Your lips close around the head of his cock, the taste of his pre cum slowly filling your taste buds.
“Fuck yes, baby girl.” He groans out and you pull him deeper inside inside your mouth, his cock hitting  the back of your throat. Kuroo lets out a soft groan and grabs a hold of your hair. You then start to bob your head up and down his length, taking him as far as you can.
“Just like that. Fuck, yes. You suck me so good, baby girl.” You keep on bobbing your head, going in an even space as you take him in. His cock keps on twitching every now and then. His hand on your hair keeps getting tighter and soon enough he pulls you away with your hair. Both of his arms grabs you under your armpits and pulls you up, all of your weight and sets your ass on the plinth. The head of his cock rubs your slit, lubricating your labia.
“Tetsu. Kuroo. Daddy. Please.”
“Please what baby girl? Tell me what you want?”
“I want you.”
“No. Tell me what you really want.”
“I want your cock. Please daddy.”
“Of course baby girl,” and he slowly thrusts his cock inside your cunt. Out. In. Out. In. Giving you no time to get used to his size. His size always impressed you. The feeling of his cock stretching your walls, feeling all of his 9 inches inside you.
Throwing your arms around his shoulders you pull him close to you, only for you to bite down on his shoulder to suppress your moans. His own hands on your hips, keeping them in place as he fucks you.
While Kuroo keps on thrusting into you, the voices outside kept getting louder and louder. Balls hitting the floor. Laughter could be heard every now and then. You were scared. You didn't want anyone to find you but you didn't want Kuroo to stop. That would be stupid because his cock kept hitting your g spot and god how you wanted to cum. You felt that familiar sensation in the pit of your stomach building up faster and faster.
“You want to cum, baby girl? You want to cum on my cock huh?” Even without looking at him you could tell that he had a cocky smirk on his face. You could only whimper as a respons to his question. Your wettness was making it easy for him to work you up, the sensation that you're very familiar with returning to you as your teeth bite into his shoulder harder.
“C-close,” you mumble out onto his shoulder, your teeth dug deep into his flesh.
“Cum. I want you to cum, (y/n). I want you to cum all over my cock. Cum all over daddy's cock, baby girl.”
“T-Tetsurou!” Letting go, you cum all over his cock. Your juices covering all of him, making it even easier for him to slide in and out of you. Squelching sounds could be heard as he kept on fucking you.
“The way you tighten around my cock when you cum is fucking amazing,” Kuroo states as his hips keep on pouncing into yours, him nearing his own release. Whenever he's close, his thrusts become sloppier and he wants to cum so badly. He wants to fill up your cunt with his seed.
“I'm gonna fill that cunt of yours with my all my cum, baby girl.”
“Daddy. Please. Fill me.”
“Fuuuck... (y/n)!” His hips stills as his cock jerks inside of you. His legs trembling at his release. Your own legs trembling still after you had your own release a couple of minutes ago. His hands move from your hips to your thighs, holding them for you.
You pull your head away from his shoulder, seeing the bite mark on his shoulder. The redness around it makes you worry. Looking up at him, you're ready to apologize but he reads your expression and knows exactly what you're thinking.
“Don't. I like it. It'll remind me of you at practise later,” a smug smile on his face.
“I can't believe you just did that, Tetsu...”
“Hmm, well I liked it, didn't you?”
“What... I... O-Of course I did,” a blush appearing on your face.
“Thought so.” Kuroo pulls away from you, your soggy heat missing the feeling of him.
“Oh and babe? Don't shower when you get home. I'm not finished with you yet.” He winks at you and you can only blush even more, pressing your thighs together trying to stop the tingling feeling between your legs.
Kuroo pulls on his breifs and shorts and throws on the t-shirt that he discarded earlier. You're busy yourself trying to pull on your own clothes. You can feel his semen slowly coming out of you making you feel embarrassed and horny at the same time.
“Where's Kuroo? We're supposed to be go jogging now”
“Well (y/n) came by earlier, maybe he walked her to the parking lot. Let's go and see if he's there.” The voices faded away from you and Kuroo and the feeling of breathing normally returned to you.
“Looks like the coast is clear.” His voice speaks softly at you.
“I can't believe you Tetsu... someone could've walked in on us you know.” You had your arms crossed over your chest, a sour pout on your lips as you tried to look pissed at him.
“Yes. I know. That's what makes is so exciting with public sex. The feeling of someone could bust us but at the same time thrilling.” He only smiled at you while placing his hands on his hips.
Walking up to him you sighed at him. You loved this man so much, but sometimes he could test your patience and you wonder how you let him do these things to you. Not that you really mind.
“Well. I need to go and you need to jog.” You placed your palms on his chest and his arms went around your shoulders.
“Not that I need it. I've already had my warm up,” rolling your eyes at his comment you act as is he just hadn't said it.
“See you later?”
“Yes. I'm not done with fucking your brains out kitten.”
“KUROO!”
“What? It's true,” laughing at you, the way he closes his eyes and his teeth warming smile you could only smile back, cause you wouldn't want it any other way with Kuroo Tetsurou.

[ too scared to say ]
pairing: tsukishima kei x f!reader
word count: 1.6k words
contains: slight angst, tsukishima with insecure!s/o cause he’s usually the insecure one in fics, another wedding-themed fic
a/n: had this idea for a while and i’m glad i’ve finally written it. it’s usually tsukki’s who’s insecure and guarded in xreader fics so i wanted to try it out with the reader being insecure this time
i love you.
you're caught off-guard when you hear the words from tsukishima's mouth. you never thought you'd ever hear him actually say them. as much you wished for it to happen, especially after you spent three years of high school doodling his name in the margins of your notebook, it feels too good to be true.
tsukishima looks sincere about it though. you're both seated on the couch in your apartment and even though it's pouring outside and the electricity had died, you can still make out his face in the dim lighting. you can tell it took him a great deal of effort to say that: his eyes are focused on the cushion on his lap as he picks at a stray thread, the sound of his breathing is more audible now as he inhales deeply.
this is the time where you say it back but the words catch themselves in your throat. after all, weren't you the one who got yourself into trouble for being too naive all the time? after leaving high school and all hopes of tsukishima ever liking you back behind, you tried your hand at relationships. you thought every single one of them would be your last, only to find that you had deluded yourself yet again.
meeting tsukishima again, years after high school, felt like a weird universal coincidence that you didn't know if you should thank for yet. even more so when he admitted to his feelings for you back then.
"so, what do we do about it now?" you asked.
"i'd... like to give this a shot," tsukishima said, rubbing the back of his head. you were reluctant, but agreed anyway.
you've said 'i love you' before, more than a few times. and yet, you couldn't say it now.
"aren't you... jumping to conclusions a bit?" you asked, nervously letting out a laugh.
"what do you mean?" tsukishima frowns slightly.
"just, saying that you might not be sure about that yet so... slow down a bit before saying things like that," you shrugged.
"what? you think i don't know my own feelings?" tsukishima scoffs. there's a look of hurt on his face and you can't exactly blame him for it.
"i'm sorry, tsukki," you apologize, resting your hand in the middle of the couch between you except he doesn't reach for it.
"it's fine," he shakes his head, focusing now on the wall in front of him. "i know you're not really the person you once were and, i don't mind that at all cause neither am i. sometimes, it really feels like you have a wall up."
you find yourself flinching slightly at that last part. maybe this is the part when things go south, like they always do. except, you feel sad that it had to happen with tsukishima too.
but he doesn't act like how you expect him to. "if you need time, it's fine with me," is all he says. tsukishima doesn't sound exasperated, nor frustrated at all. but he does stand up and head for the door.
'you can stay,' you think, 'please stay.'
but all you can bring yourself to say is: "take an umbrella. it's pouring outside."
...
that was about a week ago and tsukishima has barely heard from you then. he didn't know what else to do aside from give you space, and also silently regret things. maybe he was too hasty in saying that he loved you.
but, that was what he truly felt, and it wasn't easy for him to say but he did it anyway. 'you're not always losing anything when you open yourself up to someone,' akiteru had told him. and now, tsukishima was riding a bus on the way to his older brother's wedding.
he had just hung his tux on the curtain rod above the window and settled into his seat though when he caught a familiar flash of blue. of course, tsukishima would recognize your favorite dress and sat up in his seat to see you walking down the center aisle. he watched as you looked around for a seat before landing on the last empty one in the bus, which happened to be right next to tsukishima's.
"hey."
"hey," tsukishima swallowed as you approached.
"is this seat taken?" you asked.
"no, go ahead," tsukishima shook his head, his eyes distracted by the familiar dry-cleaners bag that you held in your hands. "let me help you with that," he offered, taking the hanger from your hands and hanging it up beside his tux.
“saeko nee-san invited me to the wedding,” you explained as soon as you sat down beside tsukishima. “congratulations to your brother, by the way.”
“thanks. we all, kind of saw it coming,” tsukishima chuckled. now that you were here, he realized just how much he missed you.
“i’m sorry for not calling or anything, by the way,” you apologized. “i can’t say that this is all new to me but, it’s just... well... i’ve been in other relationships before and sometimes, it feels like things repeat themselves too much.”
tsukishima nodded, remembering the night when you two met again after so many years. he was working the counter at the bar and noticed you sitting there, obviously dressed up for a date, obviously stood up in that said date too. you were very much different from the young girl who used to invite him and yamaguchi to watch the latest romance movie theaters, the one who sang songs at the top of your lungs in your bedroom, loud enough for those downstairs to here. but that didn’t mean he liked you any less.
“hey,” he laid a hand on top of yours. “why don’t we just enjoy today? you still love going to weddings, right?”
you smiled gratefully and chuckled. “yeah, that hasn’t changed.”
...
you fully expected to run into tsukishima at his own brother’s wedding and had thought twice about going before talking sense into yourself. and now, you were glad to have gone.
the wedding was absolutely charming and more than a few of your old high school friends came. you and tsukishima were seated with yamaguchi and yachi at the same table and chatted about old times and what the volleyball duo was up to. saeko looked stunning in her dress and akiteru cried more than a few times during the ceremony. tsukishima looked proud of his brother, and more than a little tired of his new brother-in-law.
“they look really good together,” you sighed, smiling at akiteru and saeko who were breakdancing in the middle of the dance floor, the latter doing much better than the former.
“yeah,” tsukishima chuckled. “they barely met each other in high school but i could tell nii-chan was star-struck when they met at the shiratorizawa match.”
“and now look at them,” you giggled. “kind of the opposite of us, in a way.”
“yeah, because you were definitely head over heels for me,” tsukishima snickered. you smacked his arm with the back of your hand.
“and you were too dense to realize it,” you countered.
“not exactly. just thought it was too good to be true,” tsukishima smiled wryly.
“we should have been accidentally locked into a room together to force us to admit our feelings.”
“you and your romance movie cliches.”
you chuckled at that. “just saying. would have made things way easier for everyone.” you sighed again and remembered the confession letter you had penned to tsukishima before deciding to stash it away in your desk. then, you turned to tsukishima who was watching his brother and sister-in-law dance.
maybe you were going to enjoy yourself tonight.
“hey, tsukishima?”
“yeah?”
“wanna dance with me?”
...
with the dancing and frequent visits to the wine bar, you ended up enjoying the wedding immensely. but as much as you didn’t want to, it was finally time to go home. you and tsukishima didn’t even bother changing out of your formal clothes before catching the last bus back home. your hair had escaped from its pins and you were definite that there was mascara smudged under your eye. tsukishima’s tie hung loosely around his neck and he had already unbuttoned the upper part of his shirt.
all of the dancing tired him out way more than you, but it was a pleasant surprise for him to comply with your request. you also had the wine to thank for tsukishima deciding to break dance for about a minute when his older brother asked him to.
as soon as he was seated, tsukishima was out like a light with his head leaned back against the seat and his mouth slightly hanging open. looking at him, you realized that he was someone you didn’t want to let go. dating him was scarier because of that and you didn’t want tsukishima to be one of those people you were eventually going to say goodbye to.
but how could he be that person if you don’t ask him to stay in the first place?
once again, you remembered the confession letter that you had wrote to him all those years ago. there was a tremble in your hand when you wrote down the last line of that letter, so much that it screwed up the writing and you decided not to send the letter anyway. you glanced at tsukishima’s misty reflection in the fogged up glass of the bus before using your finger to write down that line.
i love you
the words looked like they were suspended in the air and fragile enough to be blown away by the wind. with a swipe of your hand, you could easily erase the message.
and that’s when tsukishima wakes up.
his sleepy eyes travel from you to the message written on the window and his eyes widen when he realizes what you’ve written down. with a smile, he leans over, and writes a word right under your message.
i love you too

“ how the haikyuu captains confess ”
daichi x fem! reader, kuroo x fem! reader, ushijima x fem! reader, bokuto x fem reader and oikawa x fem! reader
genre: fluff.
Tumblr media
daichi
people already though the two of you were dating
he always does typical boyfriend things i.e holds bags, compliments, the only thing that was missing was  physical intimacy
he’d be on the fine line of romantic and straight forward
he kinda already knew that you knew he liked you
he got the team’s advice on what to do but it was useless bc they’ve never been with a girl RIP
“Y/n, I’m glad I caught up to you!” He seemed a little more nervous than normal but you brushed it off as just nervous for his up coming practice match.
“Hey Daichi-san, what’s up?” You closed your locker, finishing up with your own club activities. The two of you continued to walk while also keeping up the conversation, Daichi holding the door open for you.
Your heart slightly fluttered as you walked so close with them, wondering if today was the day that Daichi was finally going to confess. One of the first years had accidentally let it slip one day when you stopped by his practice.
“Well, actually, there’s been something on my mind. It’s been on my mind for a while, honestly.” He stopped walking, nervously opening his backpack to grab something.
You gave him an innocent look even though it’s been a moment you’ve been waiting for for a long time.
“I like you, y/n. Like a lot.” He extended his hand and offered you your favorite candy bar, something that he always carried around with him. “I like when I get to see your bright smile, and your laugh makes me feel so warm inside. I just like the person I am around you and how you make me want to be a better person all together.”
It had been clear that he hadn’t exactly planned what he was going to say but it was still meaningful nonetheless.
“It took you long enough.” You flashed a cheeky grin, “Hinata told me by accident, I’ve just been waiting for you to finally spill the beans.” You laughed, filling his heart with joy.
“So this means you’ll let me take you on a date?” He wondered, blushing and making a mental note to make the younger boy run extra laps. You nodded rapidly, taking his hands in yours, proceeding with your walk.
Tumblr media
kuroo
have you seen how he talks to his team
he would have his confession planned for a week
He’d be rehearsing that shit in the mirror every morning
he’d probably get really freaked out the day of though
when you say you like him back and confess in a similar manner he’s as red as a tomato
he practiced on kenma and get his advice
“Are you a carbon sample? Because I want to date you-” Kuroo was instantly cut off by his younger friend who was still glued to his game.
“You’re really going to finish off such a sentimental confession with a stupid chemistry pick up line. That’s gross.” He commented as Kuroo was left scratching his head. He’d been planning on confessing to you for a while now but was still stuck on what to say.
“But she loves when I made chemistry jokes.” His face dropped, conflicted with what to do. Was his friend right? Do girls not like that sort of thing?
“Well you better decide quick because her she comes.” You had turned the corner with all their refilled water bottles and his heart began to race up. What would happen if you said you didn’t like him back? It would create such an awkward relationship between you two; which wouldn’t be good between a captain and a team manager.
“Here are your waters.” You passed both volleyball players their drinks as you rested your hands on your hips, “what were you guys talking about?”
Kenma kept a straight face while Kuroo flushed slightly. Pressing a finger to your lips, you thought of a way to lighten the clearly tense mood.
“You’ve defiantly being improving your serves, Kuroo-san. I’ve been keeping ion you!” You covered your mouth, not wanted to let out a laugh at such a cheesy joke. That was Kenma’s cue to walk off, giving Kuroo the thumbs up to proceed-- it was now or never.
“Well, there’s something you should know too, chibi-can.” He swallowed any anxious nerves he had, “You make my heart flutter every moment I see you; you just take me breath away and not just because of you looks. I like how funny you are, and you always seem to put a smile on my face. I know this is very random but I’ve been holding in my feelings for a very long time and I thought I was going to explode not being able to tell you.”
You smiled, bashing your eyelashes, you never knew your captain had feelings for you. Heck, your crush had feelings for you.
“So basically, what I’ve been meaning to ask is; are you a carbon sample? Because I want to date you?” He held his breath, wondering if Kenma was going to be right. His heart pounded even faster at the sight of your lips twisting to an even bigger smile (if that was even possible).
Tumblr media
ushijima
it could go one of two ways
either he could be super blunt and hit you with the ‘I like you y/n.’
OR it would be over the top and only because he consulted tendou
tendou’s probably watched a handful of romance animes and has ushijima prepares chocolates, flowers, the whole 9 yards
ushi is just nodded and taking notes like...
just confess to her at the summer festival, girls love that, bonus points if you do it under the fire works.
tendou’s words rang through ushijimas head as he walked side by side with you at the summer festival. he’d done everything tendou had instructed him to up until that point. he’s bought you the best taiyaki, he’d let you hold his hand as to not get lost in the crowd and he’d even won you a small stuffed animal that now rested under your arm pit.
“I think the fireworks are about to start.” you hummed as wakatoshi realized he needed to get into the right position.
“then why don’t we go someone more private.” he offered you a rare smile as your cheeks started to burn up with fluster.
it wasn’t like ushijima was a cold heart person but seeing him suggest something so thoughtful, your heart fluttered with the idea that someone greater was about to happen.
nodding, you let ushijima pull you off as the two of you got a better of the sky that was soon to be filled with a display of lights. he’d taken you away from the crowd, up on a small empty lot of gross that was elevated compared to the rest of the festival.
“y/n, I enjoyed tonight.” he cleared his throat, catching your attention. you nodded in agreement,
“hopefully we can go to more festivals today, of course if your not busy with volleyball!” you smiled happily. ushijima was quick to respond.
“I’d like that very much.” he paused, “y/n, i’m often told that i don’t show emotions well or that i’m very blunt.”
you watched him with curious eyes, stating that that wasn’t all ways a bad thing.
“that’s right. this is a time where i think it’s good to be blunt. you see, y/n, i enjoy spending time with you and that i like you, very much.”
Tumblr media
bokuto
it accidentally slipped out
he always gets a little shy when he think about it so he simply doesn’t
you’ll be something fairly mundane and he’ll just pause and go
“you do that so well, that’s why I think I’m in love with you.”
you’d get flustered because it was so out of the blue
he’d fill akaashi in the next day and akaashi would make him re-do the confession
“You’re so good at cleaning the white board, y/n, but I guess everything you do is good because that’s why I like you.” You and Bokuto had class room chores together after school and he was watching you, in a hazy spell, resting his hand on his head.
You blushed, not knowing if Bokuto was actually being serious or if he was just being overly kind. You just pretended like you didn’t hear him, continuing with what you were doing. If you can confessed your feelings back and he wasn’t serious, you would’ve died of embarrassment.
“Bokuto-san are you going to help or not?” You turned around seeing Bokuto covering his face as he rested his head on the desk. “Uh, Bokuto-san are you alright?”
He looked up at you only for you to see what you recognized as his emo mode. You frowned your eyebrows as he jumped up, bursting out with emotion.
“No! I just confessed to the girl that I like and, and, and I wasn’t ready!” He grabbed his bag and ran for the door, “please forgive me for not doing my share of the work, y/n.”
You were left speechless, watching as the gray haired boy ran away. You laughed realizing what he meant and put you into such a happy mood you didn’t even care that you had to finish all the chores.
The next morning, you were greeted at the gates of Fukuordani by Bokuto who held a box of you favorite snack and a small teddy bear. Shyly extending the gifts out to you.
“I bet you know what I’m going to say, so just, uh, please take these.” It had been what Akaashi had instructed and you took them with pleasure.
“These will make up for all my hard work yesterday keeping out classroom spic-and-span.” You giggle, Bokuto looked at you with pouty eyes as you continued, “and if you didn’t run out so quickly you would’ve know what I like you too.”
His eyes gleamed as you covered your slightly blushing face with your hand. Bokuto engulfed you in a hug and the two of you becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.
Tumblr media
oikawa
he’s been confessed to so much that confessions make him nauseous tbh
he’d make it very personal and romantic, though
if not romantic he’d want it to be just the two of you
he knew if he told any of the third years about if his plans, they’d ruin the moment; showing up to film the whole experience (mattsun and makki)
he would secretly be the most nervous out of all of them
You were helping Iwaizumi and taking over his cleaning shift with Oikawa. Oikawa was kinda glad the ace had a dentist appointment, so he could finally get you alone with out his team mates or fan girls there to ruin the moment.
“Say, y/n-chan, I’m pretty lucky to have such a pretty girl helping me clean up.” His eyes were on the ball he was rubbing the marks off of, not really seeing your expression, defended by the sound of his heart thumping rapidly.
You frowned, liking Oikawa was no easy task because everyone seemed to like him. Sure, he complimented you now, but he always compliments girls. It hurt your heart not knowing how sincere he was.
“Don’t worry about it Oikawa-san, I’m always happy to help.” You sighed, finishing pumping a deflated volleyball. The Oikawa you had grown to love wasn’t the pretty, flashy volleyball player but the determined captain who always brought out the best in his teammates. It was the hard working, smart and passionate Toru that made your heart do flips.
“Y/n...” His voiced trailed off, you noticed there wasn’t a cute little ‘chan’ following it. You turned to face him, not realizing your vision had gone blurry from tears pooling in them.
“Are you alright?” Out of concern he placed his hands in your shoulders and that seemed to snapped you out of the spell you’d fallen under.
Rubbing your eyes, you nodded, looking down at your feet to avoid Oikawa’s gaze. You wished he’d let go of you, so you heart could just go back to its normal pace.
“Y/n did I say something to upset you—Im sorry.” He seemed to be holding his breath until he saw you shake your heard, reassuring him he’d done nothing wrong. Toru sighed.
“I hate seeing you upset, do you know that?” Surpised, you looked up at him, almost beckoning him to eleborate. Oikawas mind was racing— he wasn’t planning on confessing right there and then but he decided to sieze the moment.
“Out of all the girls I talk to, you’re the only one that makes me feel like this...” With your mouth gapping he took your hand and directed it to his chest where you could feel his rapid heartbeat.
“Oikawa-san...” You trailed off, at a loss of words. Between the hand touching his toned chest and the honey-like words coming out of his mouth, it sent you into over drive.
“Everything about you makes me crazy and-and well y/n... i like you!”
Nodding off, your brain couldn’t fully comprehend what your body was doing. leaning forward, reaching up to his lips you. kiss. him.
“Woah.” Oikawa breathed out, shocked at how you reciprocated his feeling until he was brought back to his usual behaviour, “so... you wanna go out with me?”

Boyfriend head-canon - Oikawa Tо̄ru
Tumblr media
⤙ Summary: basically, a head-canon about how I imagine Oikawa in a relationship. ⊹ Genre: fluff, smut and a tiny bit of angst ⊹ Word count: 1779 ⊹ Warnings: NSFW ⤙ Author’s note: this head-canon is a bit bigger than I anticipated. I still feel like I’m missing so much more so I might edit this in the future and add onto it. For now, I hope you just enjoy it :)
Tumblr media
So, let's say you and Oikawa got together.
I don't see Oikawa as someone who opens up easy. It takes the man a lot of time and trust so you'll have to be patient if you want to develop a relationship with him.
You must've been (very very good) friends before he even sees you as a potential significant other.
I've seen a lot of Haikyuu fans bashing on the man because of that one scene with Kageyama. They don't realise that Oikawa was at his lowest point during this moment and was overall just doing very, very bad.
It's also a scene where we get to see Oikawa's fakes finally breaking down.
You need to show Oikawa you're there for him, even if he pushes you away at the very beginning.
He's afraid to show you his insecurities, even if you're already aware of them in the first place.
He's just so so afraid of losing you. He’s afraid you’ll leave him behind once you get to see the other -not so pretty- side of him.
So, try to break him,
in a good way, of course.
Also, give him a lot of space. And by this, I mean, give the man attention but let him do his things like he always has done.
Even though you're now his partner, Oikawa is still selfish in that perspective. He won't try his hardest best to change his schedule for you.
You know volleyball is important to him, right? So you must understand why he won't do so.
Trust me,
He'll come back running once he realises this kind of behaviour was the exact reason his ex broke up with him.
"I'm so sorry. It's just- I'll try harder."
And if Oikawa says so, he really means it. This man keeps his promises, I'll give him that.
He's just very insecure about a lot of things, though he might not show that side of him immediately.
If you've come across the point where Oikawa fully knows he's accepted by you, he'll show you his true colours.
Expect him to break down in front of your -yet to be opened- front door.
Just take the man inside and comfort him.
He likes to be pampered.
Now, onto a bit more fluffy stuff.
This man is one hundred per cent the affectionate type.
If he wants to feel your skin, he will do anything in his power to do so.
Out in public but suddenly craving you? He's kissing your forehead and pushing you against his chest while holding your waist with his right arm and intertwining your hands with his left hand.
Together in one's bedroom? He'll either plop on top of you, burying his head into the crook of your neck with his body all over yours or will push you against his chest and let you rest your head in the crook of his neck while running his hands slowly through your hair until he hears your evening breaths.
He just likes to know you're still there with him.
Sorry buddy's, it's the insecurities.
It's also a way of apologising for the time he loses with you because of volleyball. He tries his hardest best to make the time you two have unforgettable.
If he finally got a day off, he will one hundred per cent take you on a date.
Expect this man to go all out.
Clothes, shoes, accessories, oh yeah, and the date itself too
He almost forgot about that, but let's ignore that for now
Okay, so these are the type of dates he would definitely take you on,
Coffeeshop dates, picnics, star-gazing, home-theatre.
Let me explain each date
Coffeeshop dates: it has to be one of those cosy, very warm atmosphere shops. He likes to see a lot a brown, dark green, some orange and of course, plants. It's an aesthetic the pretty setter loves to be surrounded by to unwind from everything going on.
It's also a perfect colour palette for his Instagram feed.
He'd wear a grey sweater with vinyl pants and -of course- wear his glasses to add to the look.
This mf is actually blind without them but only wears them when they match his outfit.
Anyway,
Picnics: Oikawa would take care of everything. The only thing you need to do is just be there. He likes to lay down with you, telling you about his day/week. The pretty scenery above your heads and in front of you keeps amazing him. He will never get tired of the prettiness Mother Nature offers. Bonus!! Bring him milk bread and he’ll spin you around before settling you back on the ground and pecking your lips ever so slightly.
Star-gazing: I see Oikawa as an intelligent human being. Besides that, he is very curious about various things. He almost always has a question about something. If he feels romantic or just simply wants to see you, he’ll call you when the sun has set, telling you he is waiting for you outside. I know for a fact that this dude has some secret hide-out since he was a child. He hasn’t shared it with anyone, not even Iwaizumi, because it was his spot to completely shut the outside world out. He really doubted whether he should tell you about it or not. But, he wanted to show you himself, all of him. He loves you too much to let you be apart of that “outside world”. Arriving at the spot, he would lay down with you in the tall grass, eyes immediately fixating on the bright stars. He would point out the zodiac signs, telling you some facts about his sign and yours (yes, he did his research). On the court, Oikawa feels big. He feels big with his team and is not afraid to lose if it were with them. But now that he lays underneath the big open sky, he realises how tiny he is in this universe. He starts to think about how lucky he is to have met you in this big universe. Expect some sappy shit and maybe some tears if he feels vulnerable.
Home-theatre: sometimes, it’s better to stay indoors with your loved one. And Oikawa completely agrees with that. After a long week of school or work he just likes to unwind. Now, he would invite you over. And girl- when I tell you what he did. You didn’t exactly expect a fort in front of his television. But then again, we are talking about Oikawa here. It’s adorable, though. There are fairy lights all over the place, candles lit and an unnecessary amount of pillows and fluffy blankets. You both lay down and pick a movie. Settling on “Ponyo” because Oikawa once mentioned the drawing style makes him feel at ease. This man has one of his arms either wrapped around your figure or intertwined his fingers with you. He prefers to have you cuddled into him, whether that be spooning or laying on top of his chest. He just likes to keep you close. It’s these moments Oikawa cherishes the most: the domestic ones.
Let’s hope I fed you enough fluffy content because I’m ready to flip the switch once again.
Like I mentioned before, Oikawa is a curious man.
And this also applies to kinks.
I know for a fact he is not scared to try out new things. He just wants two things: trust and honesty.
He wants you to trust him and trust you. He also wants you and him to be as honest as possible.
Do you not like something even though he seemed to be into it? Tell him, he wants it to be as equally enjoyable for you as it is for him.
Now, I’ve seen a lot of headcanons telling Oikawa is a switch with sub tendencies.
I’m only gonna have to agree on the first part.
This kid is, indeed, a switch. However, he is more of a switch with dom tendencies, in my eyes.
Big on praise, like, very big.
Secretly likes receiving more than giving, but you never heard that from me.
He also is into slight bondage. Handcuffs, ropes etc.
He likes to tie you up and block your sight. It makes him feel in control.
Also, the way you squirm whenever he’s breathing or whispering into your ear when you least expect it, gets him rock hard every time.
However, do the same to him and he’ll obey.
After being the fattest brat ever, of course.
#pegoikawa2020
Some other kinks he has are breath play, cockwarming, degradation, role-play, overstimulation, pain, food-play, stockings, cute lingerie and sadism.
(There are so many more kinks he likes and I want to go into detail about all of these but this shit will get too long so I won’t. Request if you want to see what I’d say about his kinks.)
He can go all out.
But Oikawa prefers the more gentle sex where you just take time to enjoy each other’s carcasses.
Is super vulnerable whenever that happens and has indeed broken down a couple of times during the act.
He can’t help it: he loves you too much that he can’t even keep on that facade anymore.
Aftercare with this baby is so cute.
If the previous moments were a lot rougher, he likes to check up on you and praise you for your work.
However, he gets you a glass of water and a towel to clean up the mess every time.
When taken care of, he likes to plop down and just hold you as close as possible. Usually runs his fingers through your hair to confirm you’re still there with him.
Falls asleep real quick, ngl
If I can give you a piece of advice: get up the morning after to make him breakfast
It’s something small but Oikawa really feels loved whenever he’s taking care of
Asks you to take place beside him and shares his breakfast with you
Yes, he is the type to put food into his mouth and share it with you with the help of a kiss that transfers the piece of food into your own mouth
Mornings like these are intimate and Oikawa cherishes them the most
Usually followed by just a lazy day of enjoying the presence of one another and probably some romance anime or Black Mirror binge watch.
Overall, this baby needs a lot of reassurance in his relationship. Let him know you’re there and won’t leave him (one of his, if not biggest, insecurities). Make him feel loved and let him take his time to warm up to you. Oikawa is worth the wait.
Bonus!!
Iwaizumi is so very glad to see his best friend happy. He’s very grateful you two have met. Will never not show you how much he appreciates him.
“Thank you for loving him, Y/n-san,” Iwaizumi would say, voice lowered in hopes his friend wouldn’t be eavesdropping.
“Iwa-chan! Are you flirting with my girlfriend?”
“Shut up, shittykawa! You don’t deserve someone as good as her!”
He’s just happy his best friend is finally able to share his insecurities with someone he loves so much.
You’re a blessing to the both of them.

strumming on my heartstrings; don't be dumb
A/N: happy hanukkah @dasfreefree // @freefree-likes-haikyuu!
nurse!reader bonding with Grandpa Ukai when he’s at the hospital with a little Ukai/reader fluff at the end (ao3 & ko-fi will be in the reblog)
Walking into his hospital room, you jokingly huffed. “Ukai-san, I know you love to see me, but this is ridiculous.”
“My doctors keep treating me like I’m fragile.”
“Well, how are you feeling today?”
“Feelin’ fine.”
“Ok. Good. But, you should probably take it easy when they do release you.” You handed him his medicine. “A weak heart isn’t something to take lightly. You wouldn’t want to need surgery.”
Ukai-san grumbled into the paper cup before popping the pills into his mouth. “It was nice to get out of here. My grandson came by.”
“Did he?” You refilled his water and checked his vitals.
“But he just needed help with his volleyball team. Didn’t even come to see me.”
“You should just tell him you miss him. He hasn’t even come to visit you here.”
“He’s a big softie. Would probably start crying if he saw me in this gown.”
You chuckled. “Probably means he cares about you.”
“Keishin should visit so I can introduce you to each other.”
“I’d love to meet him,” you said lightly.
There was something genuine about Ukai-san’s ‘I have a grandson your age’ comments, even though you treated them like a joke. It felt different than the others you got during your rounds.
Maybe it was the understanding you came to the first time he was admitted.
Patients from his generation were difficult. Especially when they felt as he did—their condition wasn’t that bad and they could just get treatment at home.
On his first full day, he refused to take his medicine and wouldn’t talk to anyone. When it got to the point where he had to take his medicine, the other nurses on the floor played a game of rock-paper-scissors to see who would get the job of getting him to take it. You lost the game and had the pleasure of figuring out how to coax him into being a good patient.
Pulling a chair next to his bed, you sat and sighed.
“Your daughter-in-law is pretty worried.”
Silence.
“You need to take your medicine, Ukai-san. Are you feeling dizzy or lightheaded?”
More silence.
“Hmm, your son did say this is your first time at the hospital in months. Although, last time wasn’t at our prestigious institution. But you should know the drill. You need to help your heart pump that blood.”
“I’m not taking that medicine.”
You blinked. “I’m pretty sure your son said you don’t have any allergies to medicine. Did he forget?”
“Last time, it was like playing Russian roulette when they gave me that pill. Sometimes, I was fine. Sometimes, I was so nauseous I thought I was out at sea.”
You frowned, leaning forward. “Did they ask you how you were before you took it?”
“No.”
“Well, that’s why. You can’t take this when feeling faint. A TV nurse could’ve told you that.” You reined in your anger for a moment. “Ukai-san?”
He grunted in response.
“It’s okay to be scared.”
Ukai-san looked up at you.
Continuing, you said, “I understand how disorienting this all can be. Especially if you’ve had a bad experience. No one wants to be in the hospital. But you can’t get better if you don’t tell us what’s happening on Planet Ukai. Today: no dizziness, right?”
“No. No dizziness.”
“So today: you need to take your medicine. Later today? Tomorrow? Maybe not. Sound good?”
Nodding, he visibly relaxed.
“Great.” You smiled, handing him a paper cup. “And it’s okay to be afraid,” you whispered. “It would be a little unnerving if you weren’t.” Standing, you added at your regular volume, “But we’ll take care of you here. Ok, Ukai-san?”
“Yes.”
“Thank you. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Thank you.”
After that, Ukai-san continued to give all the other nurses a hard time, except for you.
Noa would frequently ask how it felt to be the General’s favorite. And you would reply, “I’ll let you know when I meet this grandson.”
“Keishin’s team is playing a game today. You should come watch a bit.”
“I heard you’ll be hosting a little party.”
Ukai-san told you more about the team Karasuno would be playing and his long-lived rivalry with Nekoma’s coach as you did your routine around the room.
“Good luck to them. I’ll swing by later.”
The game slipped from your mind until you heard cheers coming from Ukai-san’s room.
“How’s it going?”
“Y/N-chan, they’re gonna show Keishin again. Come.”
Following his instructions, you sat beside him on the bed.
“There he goes.”
Oh.
When Ukai said Keishin looked just like he did back in the day, you thought he meant it in an exaggerated way. You joked that his grandson must be really attractive then and Ukai would laugh. But the moment you saw Keishin you knew who Ukai-san was talking about.
He does look hot.
“He looks just like you,” you joked.
Ukai-san beamed at you and you chuckled.
“You are so proud of him. It’s cute.”
“We’ve been trying to get back to Nationals for five years.” Ukai-san whispered so only you could hear him say. “I’m glad I got to see another dumpster battle.”
You patted his hand before standing to leave. “Me too, Ukai-san.”
“Ukai-san, how are we doing today? Experiencing any lightheadedness?”
“Ah, here she is.”
Looking up from your clipboard, you realized Ukai-san had a visitor. The first time you saw Keishin you didn’t notice how sharp his jaw was or the warmth of his eyes or the muscles in his forearms. You closed your mouth and looked at Ukai-san.
“L/N, this is my grandson, Keishin. Keishin, this is the best nurse in the whole hospital.”
“Ukai-san, if you’d said ‘best nurse in the whole country’ I would have started blushing. Nice to meet you, Ukai-kun.”
“Nice to meet you.”
“Should I come back later? I don’t want to interrupt your quality time.”
“No, stay L/N. Finish up and Keishin can treat you to a coffee during your break.”
You both protested at the same time.
“Ukai-san—”
“Gramps—”
“—I thought you were joking!”
“—why are you always so heavy handed?”
“Don’t put him on the spot like that. It’s okay.”
“It’ll look like I’m only asking her out because of you.”
Whipping your head to look at him, you felt your heart pang. “You want to ask me out?”
A blush crept up Keishin’s cheeks. “Well, I— He’s been—”
“It’s a yes or no question, Keishin,” Ukai-san interjected.
“Y’know what? Let’s talk later without an audience,” you blurted out, handing Ukai-san his medicine. “I’ll be at the nurses’ station.”
They started bickering the moment you stepped outside to go to the next room.
“What happened? You look flustered.” Noa joined you on the way to the nurses’ station after your round.
“Still?” You pressed your hands to your cheeks. “Ukai’s grandson is here.”
“Oh, the hottie? We were wondering who he came to visit. Did you talk to him?”
“Barely.”
“Well, you’re Ukai-san’s favorite. That’s gotta be a plus at least.”
Keishin was waiting at the nurse’s station and perked up when he saw you.
“Hey.”
Your heart fluttered. “Hi, Ukai-kun."
“L/N, could we go on a walk?”
Noa gave you a thumbs-up as she circled around the nurses’ station to sit down.
“Sure. We could go to the atrium next to the garden.”
He nodded and let you lead the way.
“You honestly don’t have to ask me out if you don’t want.” You spun around to face him once you arrived. “I won’t tell your grandpa.”
“Are...you trying to let me down nicely? Because I do want to take you on a date. But if you aren’t interested, I can take a hint.”
“Wait, are you serious?”
“Dead serious.”
“I would like to at least get a coffee with you. But it seems a little too good to be true,” you smirked.
“You’re telling me. Gramps spends an hour talking up this nurse. Who he’s also been talking about nonstop to my parents. Then this angel walks in. I swear, he caught me off guard. But you started pushing back when he mentioned a date and I thought I didn’t have a chance.”
“No, it was a defensive reflex. You had a chance before I even met you. Ukai-san has told me a lot of good things about you.”
Keishin raised his eyebrows. “Good?”
“Well, some bad, too.”
“That sounds right.”
You laughed. “He really loves you.”
“I can say he likes you a lot more than me.”
“Maybe.”
“Ok. Enough about him. Coffee?” Keishin tilted his head to the side.
“Yes,” you smiled.
“Great,” he smiled in return. “I’d be a little hurt if you did shoot me down. But oh boy, would the old man give me a hard time if you did say ‘no.’”
Imagining Ukai-san’s response, you snorted. “Let’s go, Ukai-kun. I’ll save you from your grandpa’s rage.”

I love reading your asks so if it's okay I want to see what you think of different anime: sword/art online, bor/uto, haik/yuu, kimetsu no ya/iba, No /6, yaoi anime, hun/ter x hun/ter, mag/nus bride, and yo/i just to start. Thank you in advance!
Oh goodness! Alright, yes, okay this is different than my usual asks and I’m all for it! That’s so cool you like reading my answers this much! I’ll do my best not to disappoint (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑
1. Sword Art Online – I couldn’t get by the first few episodes. The character designs were… very generic and all the females looked like sisters. The plot was also really, really weak and lackluster for me. I don’t like stuff that has a lot of romance in it and the romance was so forced in this one that it was cringey right from the beginning.
2. Boruto – Never. You couldn’t pay me to associate myself with this spinoff or the thing it spawned from.
3. Haikyuu!! – I’m not into it that much. I watched the first season, read some of it, and enjoyed some of the characters, but it was just so repetitious I fell out of it. I’m a hard person to sell when it comes to sports anime because I used to play a lot of sports and was even sent to different countries to play football for awhile. To see volleyball as a sport instead of a recreation or hobby is a stretch for me as I never found it challenging to be good at and I always got bored playing it. A bunch of friends and I play it at the beach sometimes and that’s fun, but it’s mainly fun because we’re goofing around and making up our own rules to keep it interesting. I may go back to this anime sometime, but it’s unlikely. And don’t get me wrong, I did like some of the characters, but I can only watch so many eps of them stretching out a match before I get totally burnt out and unfortunately, a lot of sports anime are like this so it’s not uncommon for me to lose interest.
4. KnY – I haven’t started watching this one yet, but I plan to! It looks interesting!
5. No. 6 – I enjoyed it when I watched it, but the ending was really off. It didn’t feel like there was much of a climax and really, the climax itself felt like it was incomplete in some way. Then Nezumi just… left and here we are however many years later with no resolution. I really enjoyed the foundation they setup with this one, but it just felt like they didn’t do enough with it to get the most out of it, if that makes sense?
6. I don’t like any yaoi anime LOLOL They’re all very noncon-esque and that is soooooo not my thing. I really dislike yaoi tropes and all the anime have that “I’m the seme and you’re my uke and though you’re telling me you don’t want this I’m just going to fuck you until you like my cock” vibe and I’m not about that at all. I also don’t like male/male shows where one of them ends up dying at the end. Miss me on all that shit, thank you. ((I don’t know if Given is considered yaoi, which is shouldn’t be because it’s so light, but that one is cute from what I remember.))
7. Hunter x Hunter – Shower and lather me in this for the rest of my life, I’d be fine with that. I enjoyed this anime so, so much. I haven’t read the manga and I definitely should since I love the anime so much. I was having fun with it and all the characters all throughout, but when it hit the Chimera Ant arc, that’s the point the anime went from “wow I really enjoy this” to “holy shit this is fucking incredible.” Like I said above, sports anime tend to annoy me because they drag out simple shit for too long ((like a volleyball going over a net taking half an episode, for example)) and the same sort of technique was used in the Chimera Ant arc, but it was incredible. You got a minute by minute, even a second by second, display of what was going on, but the difference here is that there was so fucking much going on that they had to show it that slowly or you’d miss something. Because you had so many characters doing so many different things simultaneously and the plot hhhhhhhhh the goddamn plot was so good! I remember just devouring those episodes because I couldn’t get enough, I couldn’t stop watching, I had to know what was going to happen! As is probably known by now, I’m not a huge fan of romance, but I’d be shocked if there was someone out there that genuinely didn’t like what was built between Meruem and Komugi considering how well done and devastating it was.
The Chairman Election arc was my least favorite and it was a really odd arc ((to me)) to follow something as emotional and powerful as the Chimera Ant arc. I found it somewhat boring, especially after such an intense arc, and this leads me into the one issue I have with Hunter x Hunter. I loved the anime so much, but Alluka was a mistake from my perspective. I was fine with her when she first appeared and I want to give the author time to show us where he’s going to go with her, but she’s a character that shouldn’t exist in any media. She can do anything, she has no limitations. It doesn’t matter what problem she has or what they’re up against, Alluka has the ability to make anything happen. I’m glad Gon was saved, but the manner in which he was saved was disappointing to me. Right now, the creator will always have an “ace in the hole” in his back pocket because Alluka will be able to fix or alter anything or any situation he puts the characters into, which is just… not good. OTHER THAN THAT THOUGH I love this anime. The fact that Illumi and Hisoka are a canon couple is so fitting and puts an awesome new spin onto the Hunter Exam arc. I, of course, have a soft spot for Killua. Biscuit is an amazing character, I adore her and I love Palm too. I could go on and on about the characters I enjoy oh my god I’ve barely scratched the surface and this space has gotten filled enough I think. So, I’ll conclude this segment by saying that I’m ready and willing to talk about Hunter x Hunter anytime, anywhere!
8. Magnus Bride – Fantasy element, awesome! Character designs, beautiful! Het romance, eh I guess? 16 year old bride, fuck this shit I’m out! ((I gave the first episode a try, but was not good and then I found out the bride is 16 and no amount of gorgeous animation could get me to keep going.))
9. Yuri!!! On Ice – I really enjoyed this! Like I said about three times now, sports anime are difficult to sell to me, but this was as focused on a whole slew of characters as much as it was on the ice skating routines. You got multiple routines per episode during competitions so it kept you engaged and it had a strong cast of characters that were all very likable. The story was really cute and the adorable twist that Viktor was the one after Yuri all along was well done. The pictures from the party were adorable. The message the anime sent was wholesome as well and the way it ended was heartwarming. I know there’s a movie coming out for it soon and I’m looking forward to it!

waterloo | oikawa tooru x reader
Title: Waterloo Fandom: Haikyuu!! Character: Oikawa Tooru Genre: Very, very light angst. Fluff. Word Count: 1595 Extra Info: Crossposted from dA. AKA: That ABBA inspired fic nobody asked for that I wrote at like 1am but ok
“Hey, (Y/N)!” a chirpy voice.
Too chirpy. You knew that voice from anywhere. You peered around the courtyard warily, locating the cowlicked boy from half a mile away before cowering into yourself. It wasn’t that you didn’t like him, you just… you liked him too much. And too much was bad. Especially with Oikawa Tooru.
You didn’t even know what he’d do if he ever found out of your… predicament involving him. Oikawa Tooru, the renowned womaniser of Seijoh. No. It was unheard of!
You instead opted to walk right past him, though you could feel your cheeks reddening an embarrassing colour as you sauntered past. It was embarrassing. You were eighteen, not fourteen- why, then, did you feel like your entire body was in flames when you walked in the vicinity of that boy? You shuddered - he must’ve had you under some sort of spell.
As you entered the school building, you let out a quick sigh. You’d escaped him. Somehow. And you felt the relief sink into you the way a stone sinks into water, instantaneous relief that consumed you as you walked over to your friends who were congregating by the staircase.
“(Y/N)!” his voice. Again.
You tried to avoid him, to walk right past him, but his arm shot out and grasped your wrist, halting your footsteps. You didn’t dare lift your chin, eyes trained on the ground as the world seemed to fall apart at your feet. Damn it. Why didn’t he get the message? You were avoiding him, was he blind?
“Let’s get something to eat!”
“No, I’m busy, Tooru. Besides, don’t you have practice?”
You could literally feel the pout radiating off his cream skin, he tugged on your wrist once more and you tried with all your might not to look up. To look up would a) be defeat and b) expose your abnormally tomato-coloured face to him. Both factors were one and their own individual, and you didn’t feel like giving into the brunet so easily. Or even with difficulty. You’d die with this… secret.
“But (Y/N)-” he dragged out your name in that oh-so-pretty tone of his that made your heart flutter desperately as it drummed against your ribcage, “you know practice isn’t on on Mondays- and it’s not good to overwork yourself!”
“Tooru, I’d love to but-”
“Great then! It’s settled!” a successful smile pulled the corners of his lips upwards, that mischievous glint dancing around in his eyes in such an infuriatingly adorable manner; the sort that sent sparks dancing through your body; the sort that crinkled his eyes and exhibited the life in his soul.
The joy of life.
In a slip of judgement, you accepted. After all, was falling into defeat really that bad when you felt like you won anyway?
Because with him, somehow, you felt like you won when you lost anyway.
“(Y/N)." He sat in front of you, an unreadable expression written across his face; You’ve been ignoring me, avoiding me,” Oikawa mused.
His cheek lay in his hand, tussled chestnut hair falling over his eyes and masking the sun from fully entering his eyes as he gazed out the window before his eyes turned to yours. You felt your heart plummet to your shoes.
“No I’ve not,”
You tried to feign apathy, stirring the spoon in your coffee round and round. Your eyes darted around the café, landing on vinyls that sat proudly on the walls and signed photographs, couples laughing and students pouring their minds into their homework and projects in between sips of coffee and laughter. There was always a protective aura in cafés, the sort that set you at ease in a sense. It was as though the exquisite scent of coffee could chase away any impending sense of doom and allow you to sink into the leather booth you were sat in.
Except for now.
Wherein you sat rigidly, glancing down at the swirling liquid chasing circles round and round and round the mug.
“You have. You’re doing it right now~” he teased, and you shook your head.
No you weren’t. You just didn’t want him to know. And you knew that as soon as you looked into his warm eyes; framed with gold thanks to the tint of the sun, you’d spill your heart out. Provoked by the false security of the café and your own muddled brain that felt like an unsolvable jigsaw puzzle in that moment. You wanted to bang your head against the table and pull your hair out.
Instead, you just sat there.
“No I’m not.”
“Look me in the eye, (Y/N), and tell me you’ve not been avoiding me intentionally, then,” he demanded, and you nearly choked on the aromatic atmosphere of the café.
You felt cornered; he was going to coax you into surrendering at any minute now.
“I don’t need to prove myself to you,”
“If you had nothing to hide-” he paused mid-sentence, eyes widening in a way that made you feel even more cornered; he was peering right into your soul, his quick mind acting as a compass as he traced the reasons as to why you were acting this way, “you’re avoiding me because you have something to hide, huh?”
“What? No!” you protested, “I’m just busy. And you’re busy. With volleyball. So we never meet. Ever. I’m sorry,” you muttered, all the excuses flying out your mouth with a practised ease that just acted as a catalyst.
“Ah!” he said, “You are hiding something!”
That stupid grin on his face made your insides curdle with sourness, you wanted to reach up to his face and grip his chin. You wanted to grab his face by both sides and show him how infuriatingly irresistible he was in every single damn way with just his innocuous looks; his casually irritable self that had you falling head over heels for him all over again.
“Do you have a… partner, (Y/N)?”
You glowered at him.
“No, idiot.”
“So mean!”
“Then why are you avoiding me-”
“Because… I’m busy,”
You weren’t surrendering just yet.
“(Y/N)!”
History had that uncanny way of repeating itself and somehow, you’d managed to find yourself dragged to that same café a week later. Albeit this time, with ample reason. You had a project to work on and had decided the café was the perfect rendezvous for your group members.
You instantaneously regretted your choice, however, when you heard the chime of one Oikawa Tooru’s voice. It sounded as melodiously irritable as always, and you could feel your heart sinking further with every footstep he took towards your table.
Was it just you, or had the room’s temperature increased way above average?
“(Y/N)! You’re here!” Oikawa Tooru was there. At your table.
After a week of ignoring him once more. A week after you’d vowed not to surrender to that jelly-like substance inside you; that part of your heart that melted into nothing but sweetness whenever you thought of him. After all, you had not even 6 months before graduation, and who knew what would happen after graduation?
Now was not the time for love- Or petty romances. (Or middle grade emotions that made you feel like everything in the world was okay whilst simultaneously making you feel as though the world was spinning off its axis and the sun had been replaced with the honeydew tones of his voice and-)
“You’ve been ignoring me again,” he teased.
“Why do you care?” you shrugged, glad that none of your group members were running exactly on time for fear that they’d see the… encounter between you and Tooru.
You didn’t want rumours, after all.
“Because, (Y/N), I like you!”
And your heart all but stopped at the carelessness of his words-
“I don’t want you to keep ignoring me! We’re friends!”
And there it was. The reason you would never back down or admit defeat. There was no point. He didn’t view you in any other light other than that of a casual friendship.
“Well, Tooru,” you shrugged, “That’s exactly why I’m ignoring you.”
You didn’t know why the words tumbled out in that manner; clumsy, as though your mouth was filled with cotton wool and silk, tumbling out in organised chaos that caused him to straighten up as he knitted his eyebrows together.
“What’s that meant to mean?”
“You’re meant to be smart. Figure it out.”
It wasn’t surrendering; it was admitting there was nowhere to escape anymore. (There was a difference, honest.)
Tooru 4:56am (Y/N). I got it.

December 1st: Tree
For the awesome @sfw-haikyuu-nsfw ! I absolutely love your writing and all the work you share with the world. Reading your stuff makes me so, so happy. Thank you for being amazing and awesome and sweet.
I know it’s still practically a month away but MERRY HOLIDAYS!!!! This story is written for Christmas so I hope that is okay. But! Just a little thank you story/present for all you do.
Character: Tsukishima
I hope everyone else likes it also!
______________________________________________________________
“That’s the tree?”
You heard your boyfriend’s voice carry through the house. Slight concern at his disbelieving tone. Walking from the kitchen into the living room you looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to say more.
Tsukishima Kei rolled his eyes at your expression, before sending you a small smirk and placing his volleyball bag into its corner. “You heard me.” He expressed lazily.
“It’s our first Christmas together. I thought it was cute.” You started pouting, and crossed your arms over your chest. “Don’t you like it?” You begged your voice not to crack. Sure, you thought it was the perfect first Christmas Christmas Tree. But here was Tsukki, making it seem anything but. You coughed down the tightness in your throat, and wiped under your eyes before the water building could turn to tears.
The additional pout you were sporting did nothing to help the blonde megane figure out what happened.
He had only meant to express his disappointment in not being able to choose the tree you would both put up, with you. He wanted to be a part of the process.
‘So why were you so sad?’ He thought, crushing the distance between your pair into nothing.
Wrapping you in his arms, he ‘tsk’d’. “Calm down. It’s fine.” Letting out a deep sigh, he nuzzled into your hair before whispering, “It’s fine.” You thought he was trying to reassure you, but he was trying to convince himself.
*ring* *ring*
Just as you were about to speak again, your phone started going off. Worried it might be something wrong with [closest person to you] you pushed away from your super tall boyfriend. Not even glancing at the caller-ID, you answered, “Hi. What’s up?”
“(F/N)!!!!!!”
You thought the boy on the other end of the line might have burst your eardrum from the unexpected shout.
Switching the listening end of the device to your other ear, you took a calming breath before speaking. “Hiya, Yama.”
Yamaguchi Tadashi had become a close friend. Heck, without him you weren’t even sure if you’d be with your boyfriend right now. You stole a glance at the blonde, recalling months prior when your freckled face friend introduced the two of you so excitedly. He was troublesome at first, but soon Kei stole your heart from inside you and you willing took his in return.
“(F/N), I am so so so sorry.” He began. His words rushed, and his voice cracking with the threat of tears. “I didn’t know he wanted to go tree picking with you. I would have never suggested you surprising him with it if I had.” He was actually crying now. And, while you felt bad, you were a little more concerned with your partner.
You watched the boy in the room, glaring at the Christmas Tree as if it had just killed his puppy, while the boy on your phone just kept expressing his sorrow.
Giggling, you couldn’t help yourself. ‘So, that’s why he sounded so rough when he walked in.’ You thought, ‘Oh! Maybe he doesn’t actually hate it!’
Your friend stopped crying out and your boyfriend turned to stare at you, eyes questioning your recent action.
“Sorry, Yama. I got to talk to Kei about some things. Thanks for clearing this up even thought I’m sure I just confused you.” You laughed again before adding, “I’ll explain more later. Bye-ya, Yama!”
He stuttered through his own farewell before you hung up.
Turning your full attention to the volleyball player who had moved to stand less than a foot in front of you (again!) you smiled.
...
Not saying a word.
It drove your boyfriend mad.
“Well?” He dragged, facial expression saying he was bored while his eyes pretty much said ‘tell me or you’ll regret it’.
You laughed again. “Baka-shima. If you wanted to go Christmas Tree hunting all you had to do was say so!”
You tackled him into a tight embrace. Knowing full well that your comment would cause a deep blush across his pale skin.
“Stupid,” He tsk’d, but wrapped his lanky arms around your shoulders. “Don’t call me that.”
You smiled up at him as you pulled back slightly. “We can always go shopping for a smaller one for my apartment?” You offered. “I mean I know we will mostly be here since it’s so close to campus and your gym, but it’s still a possibility. And,” You breathed out, your confidence wavering a little, “It’s not like you hate this tree, is it?”
Tsukishima knew what you were doing. That pouty look in your eyes was back after all. And he did not enjoy seeing it. He only wanted to cause you to smile, not tear up. “Yamaguchi should keep his mouth shut.”
“Yama is a good friend.” You retaliated. “Besides I think you should drop the formalities already, you guys have been friends longer than him and I have.”
He shook his head, “Your tree is exactly as you said. Perfect. Just like you are.”
“You mean you.”
He smirked at your statement, kissed your temple and then continued. “Nah, I ain’t nothing. But, as Yamaguchi obviously told you, I do want to go Christmas Tree shopping with you. As you said, it’s our first Christmas together. Why should we be boring and lazy and miss out on all the things you do as a couple? Or, is this your way of saying I’m not cool enough to be seen with you that much?”
You knew he was teasing. It was one of the things you loved about him. “Oh definitely. Why would I ever want to be seen with a tall, fit, intelligent, man on my side? I’d have to be crazy to flaunt this volleyball nerd around town. Hmm maybe Hina or Kageya would do things with me…” You let the smirk end your spiel.
The betrayal on your boyfriends face sent you into a fit of laughter. Doubling over as you tried to push him further away so you would not end up laughing into his chest.
Tsukishima held you tight in place, looking down at you with a mix of emotions. On the one hand he wanted to tease you back more, on the other he wanted to kiss you because man did watching you talk make him feel some-certain-things, and even further he wanted to chastise you for your choice in replacements.
“At least choose someone with a brain.” Apparently he decide the last option, he thought to himself before continuing. “Like Yamaguchi, or Ennoshita-senpai, or Hinoshita-senpai. Even Tanaka and Nishinoya are better then those two idiots.” He smirked, “They’d be too afraid to let anything happen to you and protect you like their precious Shimizu-senpai.”
You giggled at his ridiculousness. “I love you, Tsukki. I am glad about spending this first Christmas with you, Will you please go shopping with me for a tree for my apartment?”
“Well,” He smirked as he pulled you in tighter somehow. “Only because you begged.”
Before you could protest further, his lips crashed onto yours. The sparks you felt had not dissipated even after the months of being together. The multitude of times a kiss passed between your pair. They were still there. Raging. Burning. And exciting you two enough to deepen the kiss until one could no longer breath.
This is going to be a great Christmas. You thought, moving your hands behind your boyfriend’s neck. Strengthening the connecting points between you.

Memories of Midnight Mario Kart Part 4
AN: Hello everyone! realized this posting is out of sync with my ao3, so chapter 5 will be up here shortly as well, but if you can’t wait, it’s already on ao3. Thanks for being patient with me, and hopefully more chapters will follow soonish. Also there’s a lot of angst in this chapter wow
Fandom: Haikyuu!!
Pairing: Kuroken
Length (this part): 1773
Part 4 of ?
‘Well, look at that,’ Coach Nekomata barked from the bench, ‘Kuroo here twice in one day. And Kenma! Even better.’ As the man was now nearing ninety years old, Kenma wondered if he should think about retiring, but knew Coach would never hear of it.
‘Hi, Coach,’ he said. ‘How’s the team?’
Nekomata gestured to the gym, filled with twenty or so boys in practice clothes, serving and receiving busily. ‘We’ve got three middle blockers over 180 cm, a setter who’s about ninety percent as good as you were, Kenma, and no ace whatsoever.’ He sighed. ‘I’ve had them practice for hours, but not one of them is capable of battling more than one blocker at a time. All in all, it’s a fairly solid team, but when we had a practice match with Karasuno last week, they won a straight set with only minimal difficulty. I don’t know if we’ll make it to nationals this year. But enough about my troubles, tell me some good news. Frankly, it’s heartening just to see the two of you together again.’
Kuroo laughed awkwardly, and Kenma looked away. Kuroo broke the momentary silence by saying, ‘Well, like I told you this morning, Coach, I got four days off of work, my first real break since Christmas, and decided to come up to Tokyo because I was feeling nostalgic. I just happened to run into Kenma at a park, and he’s been graciously sparing me taxi fares by driving me around.’
Kenma snorted. ‘I only gave you a ride because you had to try that coffee place, and then I felt bad about the idea of just abandoning you there. You’d have had to walk nearly twenty blocks before you’d reach a place normally trafficked by taxis, and seeing as you already walked all the way here earlier…’
‘Yes, thanks for that. The coffee was exceptional and - what, Coach?’
Nekomata was grinning at them, pleased, his old face wrinkling along familiar creases. ‘Just glad to see you talking like old times. Last I’d heard, you two had a falling out and hadn’t spoken for years.’
‘We really hadn’t,’ Kenma replied, ‘Until Kuroo snuck up on me this morning and scared me into spilling my coffee.’ He gave Kuroo an annoyed glance.
‘Hey,’ Kuroo said, ‘I bought you a replacement. And the barista gave you a free croissant because of me.’
‘Which you ate half of.’
‘You gave it to me!’
Coach laughed, watching the pair squabble. ‘Just like old days. I’ve missed having you two around. Perhaps someday you can come help me with practice. I’ve been looking for an assistant coach, you know.’
They looked at each other, uncertain, and Kuroo turned back to Nekomata. ‘I’d love to come help with a practice or two, Coach, but I live down in Miyagi, and Kenma and I both have day jobs.’
‘I also haven’t touched a volleyball in about four years,’ Kenma muttered.
Nekomata huffed a great guffaw, the sound nearly knocking Kenma over, and said, ‘Ah, well, I guess I’ll have to find a coach elsewhere. If you’re ever free around practice times, feel free to drop on by. Especially you, Kenma, I know you don’t talk to a lot of people, and I would feel better knowing you get out of the house for things besides work and coffee.’ Kenma opened his mouth to object but Nekomata broke in, ‘Arcades don’t count!.’
Kuroo laughed. He laughed so hard it became his ugly laugh, like an asthmatic seagull, and some of the high schoolers turned from putting away the balls to look at him, confused and somewhat concerned. Nekomata roared along, pleased with his joke. Kenma chuckled a bit, too, though in his mind arcades did count as getting out of the house. He couldn’t not laugh when Kuroo was in full-blown ugly cackle mode.
Finally, Kuroo managed to control himself, tears glistening in the corners of his eyes from the ferocity of his laughter. ‘Sorry, Kenma,’ he wheezed, ‘but Coach is right. It doesn’t count as going out if you just stand in front of a game console and don’t talk to anyone.’
Kenma huffed indignantly. ‘I’ve a mind to take that sweatshirt back from you, you jerk.’
‘I’m not the jerk here.’ Kuroo flinched as soon as he’d said it, realizing that it hadn’t been the best response to Kenma’s mostly sarcastic statement.
Kenma winced, feeling the blow of those words, a blow that should have come five years ago, but Kuroo had been so nice about it back then. Kenma should have known that Kuroo had been stewing in those feelings, ready to explode at the slightest touch.
He remembered five years ago, finally letting the memory take him to the day it had all gone to shit.
He’d woken up that morning, sprawled on the bed with Kuroo snoring beside him, their discarded DSs lying nearby after a few hours of MarioKart. Kenma remembered starting with Rainbow Road - an easy victory for him, one he could do in his sleep - and then deciding to let Kuroo win every other race.
Why had he done that?
Oh.
That’s right.
He’d decided that today he was going to break up with Kuroo.
He almost teared up, lying there in bed, but admonished himself silently. Don’t be a jerk, Kenma. Don’t cry when you’re the one dumping him. If anyone deserves to get emotional, it’s him.
He felt Kuroo shift beside him, wincing slightly at the knowledge of what he was going to do. He wanted to cry. He wanted to scream. He wanted Kuroo to stay. But. Kuroo had to go to college. And Kenma had to stay behind. And he had decided it would hurt less if they weren’t together anymore.
What an idiot he had been.
When Kuroo woke up, Kenma was already dressed, hair combed, breakfast cooking on the stove. Kuroo stumbled into the kitchen, bleary-eyed, messy(er) hair, and Kenma didn’t turn to look at him. He kept his eyes on the frying pan before him.
‘Good morning,’ Kuroo mumbled, sliding into one of the chairs at the small wooden table.
Kenma gave a noncommittal grunt, placing breakfast on plates and bringing it to the table.
His mother had left for work already, so it was just them in the house. They ate in silence, Kuroo seeming perfectly content, as though nothing was wrong. Kenma supposed that for him, nothing was wrong yet. But for Kenma - … For Kenma it was already the worst day of his life. For Kenma, the silence was filled with shame and discomfort and the knowledge of harsh words to come. For Kenma, today was the last day he’d be able to call Kuroo his, and even though he hadn’t ended it yet, it already hurt.
Instead of cleaning up when he finished eating, Kenma sat at the table, staring blankly at the wood grain. Finally, Kuroo broke the silence.
‘What’s wrong, Kenma? Last night you let me win way more than you normally do - don’t object, you know I’d never win a single race if you didn’t let me - and now you’re acting weird and refusing to talk. Did I do something?’
‘No.’ Kenma wasn’t ready. He wasn’t ready to say goodbye to this ridiculous, beautiful mess of a man. But. ‘I think we should break up, Kuroo.’
He looked up to see the hurt and confusion in Kuroo’s face. He tried to explain. ‘You’re leaving for college soon, and I’m really clingy, and you’ll miss playing MarioKart with me, and you’ll want to come home all the time when you should stay at school, and I’d be horrible at a long-distance relationship, and I think it will hurt us both less if we just end it now.’
Kuroo didn’t get mad. He didn’t cry. He didn’t even ask any questions. He just nodded and said, ‘If that’s what you want,’ and left without saying goodbye.
And Kenma had sat at his kitchen table and cried until he had no tears left, and went to his room to disappear into a videogame for the rest of the day.
He hadn’t gone to practice for the rest of the week, to the point that Lev called him to ask what was wrong. When he had gone back, like a banshee, sleepless, hollow, dark eyes, refusing to speak, flinching at every mention of Kuroo’s name, Nekomata had patted him on the back in an oddly fatherly way. The team stopped talking about Kuroo, though they still told about memories with the other third-years. And Kenma never said a word during any practice or match for the entire year, even when they’d played Karasuno and Shoyou was hurt by his silence, turning to the tall, dark setter at his side for reassurance that didn’t come.
In short, Kenma had dumped his boyfriend, and been more bitterly petty about it than Kuroo had.
And now Kuroo was standing in front of him, finally, finally angry about what Kenma had done. And even now, Kuroo was about to apologize for his words, but Kenma stopped him.
‘I’m sorry.’ God, he’d been needing to say that for so long. ‘I’m sorry. I screwed up. I was wrong. I thought it would hurt less that way, but it didn’t. And I’ve been a jerk about it, I really have. You were so nice about it. You just accepted it. Why didn’t you argue with me? Why -’
‘Because,’ Kuroo interrupted. ‘Because you said you wanted to end it, because I knew how scared you were of what would happen, and because when you let me win all those races I knew you already felt like crap about it, and i didn’t want to make you cry in front of me. Because you would have, and you would have felt like a jerk for doing it, because you were the one who broke up with me, but I wouldn’t have been mad because I would have known how much it meant to you, how much it hurt you to push me away. And I knew you thought it was for the best, so I let go.’
Kenma blinked, feeling the tears come to his eyes, and suddenly, it was all too much. He walked out and sat in his car. How could Kuroo say these things? How could he be so nice, even now? Kenma didn’t understand. So he did what he always did when he didn’t understand something - he ran away. He started the car and left, not even glancing in the rear view mirror to see if Kuroo was there.
