You’re the only one who’s writing poppy x mc fics sooo, i have a request “ bea is a bad girl (like in a gang) in high school and also went jail couple of times for getting in trouble in high school senior year poppy was new transfer student and after 2 months bea join back school and met poppy bea and they just click yk like a connection slowly they started dating and in school everyone was shocked to see bea in a relationship ( bad girl and new girl) poppy is always worried about bea and few days before graduation bea got hurt really bad and poppy gives bea 2 options that she has to choose between her or her this (gang).. bea didn’t say anything to her so poppy left, after 2/3 years they met in college bea was a different person but so does poppy they become enemies (no one knows why they hate each other) one day they were arguing and poppy shout at her and says why you're back and bea put her hand on her cheek and smile and say i am here to win you back because i love you 😬
Promises (Poppy x MC)
Part 1/?
Can i just say I'm absolutely invested in this plot? You've got me hooked on my own story, as hectic as my life is, this is enjoyable to write. I hope you like it as well @iamsimpforpoppy
Word count: 1.8k (i got carried away)
“You know what to do Jackson, same old shit.”
“Yeah but it feels like a movie every damn time”, Bea responds confidently as she unbuckles her seatbelt. She sports a black mask with a yellow bandana, a vivacious color worn by only the Southside Spades, a notorious street gang who were known for robbery, and occasional blood.
Bea found herself wrapped up in the world of gangs when she turned sixteen. But before that the brunette would assist in transporting goods, also known as hardcore drugs. There was plenty enough to go around so Bea could indulge in any she wanted. Drugs didn’t give her the high she craved though, instead it was the thrilling game of cat and mouse with the cops.
Every now and then she’d get thrown in the slammer overnight. But this particular evening earns her one year in the NY State Penitentiary. See, the cops never gathered significant evidence to build a case against her, even though she was well aware of Detective Steinhelm who had some sick obsession with her. Following her everywhere, until Bea confronted her directly after noticing the same black sedan parked a street down from her house.
But she played the game right, and nothing ever led back to her. Until now.
“Where’s the money Bradley? I feel like I’ve been kissing your ass all week, the boss needs it now.”
A skinny blonde boy who looks like he had better days grunts in annoyance, “You’ll get your money...I’m just a little short right now.”
“Time’s up Ken doll, you know Carter will have your head for this.”
“Maybe he doesn’t have to know. Maybe this can be between us…”, Bradley strides carefully towards the blonde, a disturbing grin on his face which screams junkie. “Back the hell up now.”
Bea pulled her knife out with ease and pointed it towards him. She didn’t plan on actually using it. Murder was way out her budget for a simple money pickup but she knew that it would scare the boy easily. Except he kicked the blade out of her hold which prompted it to screech across the concrete before coming to a stop. Before Bea could think her fists reacted as she intercepted a punch that aimed straight for her jaw. She twists Bradley’s arm and he falls on his knees in pain. With his back to her, she kicks him down until he’s flat on his stomach.
“What is it exactly that you plan on doing now Bradley?” The blonde boy struggles under Bea’s foot but manages to reach around and slash at her ankle with a surprise shiv. Bea yelps in pain before kicking his head, rendering him unconscious.
“Stupid idiot. Had to make this harder than it should’ve been.”
Bea eventually finds the stash of money hidden under his mattress, an amateur hiding place at best. She congratulated herself for another job accomplished (kinda) and headed home. What the seventeen year old didn’t expect was the repulsive sound of a siren filling her ears as she stepped out onto her driveway. Her blood rushed to her head when she spotted Detective Steinhelm among the police officers surrounding her and retorts, “oh come on. I thought I told them about you harassing me. What do you want? Back here to strip search me again?”
The older woman only watches the blonde in eerie silence before smiling and gesturing to a police officer. “Beatriz Jackson you have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do can be used against you in a court of law-”
“What the actual fuck!” Bea yanks her arms out of the officers reach which initiates a struggle for dominance. This was nothing new to her, but it still felt sickening. Like she was some pet.
“You have the right to have a lawyer present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you if you so desire.” Detective Steinhelm finishes speaking and approaches the still scuffling blonde, “if you keep resisting I will tase you myself.”
Bea bites back the urge to headbutt the old hag right in her stupid face but she didn’t need any extra charges, for whatever the hell it was she was being charged for.
“Tell me why the fuck I am being arrested and I’ll calm down.”
That’s when Bea notices a familiar (bruised up) face from earlier. His smirk was enough to eat at her skin and she felt burning hot rage.
“Your blood was found at the scene of Mr. Denbroughs assault. You are being arrested in the case of second degree assault with intent to hurt someone with a deadly weapon.”
***
Bea only got one year in prison due to her kickass lawyer Ina Kingsley who played the minor card at every opportunity given. She also pointed out the fact that the knife wasn’t bloodstained, and Bradley never had any stab wounds so there is no proof the weapon was ever used against him. And it technically wasn’t. Good thing she didn’t bring a gun instead.
She did miss her 18th birthday though. And a few months of her senior year. But that’s what summer classes were for right?
All eyes were on the blonde when she returned, and whispers spread throughout the school about a certain new girl. Bea paid no mind to the fingers that pointed in her direction but the newcomer did manage to catch her attention, and pretty quick at that.
“Hey Jackson, how was solitary confinement?”
“I heard they make you use the bathroom right through the tiny food slot.”
Bea rolls her eyes and pelts a piece of not-so-fresh bread right at Ford’s head. The other people at the table join in on the laughter and Bea shakes her head and smiles, “it was Juvie you dumbass, and they made us sit in a circle together every Thursday like we were in an AA meeting.
“That’s jail for babies, goldilocks here wouldn’t last a minute in a real prison”, Carter joins them at the table with a cocky smirk, yet his eyes soften when landing on Bea. She shares a similar look with him knowing they’ll have a real conversation later. Because they definitely didn’t get to have that when Bea was getting dragged away to the police station in cuffs, and every event after that.
“It’s our girl’s first day out, we have to celebrate. And it’s not like she’s on probation...right Bea?”
“I do have a curfew, and I’m on juvenile probation so…when we partying?” The crew laughs as Bea shrugs. Her mother will deal with it. Zoey scoots in next to the blonde and wraps her arm around her shoulder in a side hug. “So glad to have you back Bea, and we are not risking you breaking parole so let’s just go to a sport’s bar tonight.”
Bea nods her head in agreement as the first warning bell goes off and everyone starts to clean up. Zoey taps on her arm and points towards one of the farther tables where a lone figure sits, wiping her hands with a napkin. All Bea saw were blonde tresses until she turned and they made brief eye contact.
“She’s the new girl, Poppy Min Sinclair. Rumor is she’s got a rich white daddy. You should totally invite her to the party.”
“And why would I do that?”
Zoey squints her eyes and leans in closer, her hands under chin in thought, “she seems like the broody type, you two would click.” She laughs at Bea’s comical expression but the blonde can’t bother to look in her direction, she’s way too wrapped up in what little the stranger a few tables away had to offer. She would sit on that thought, Bea was not one to shy away from anything.
***
The two became friends quicker than anyone could think.
One day after school, Poppy’s car wouldn’t start. It just didn’t comply. You would think she’d be poised and call her mechanic to come fix it, but instead the blonde slumped against the driver’s side window and let out a visibly frustrated, high-pitched yelp. Bea watched her pace around the car and even...kick?...the front bumper with her heels in efforts to wake it up.
“You know I may be wrong but I think that only makes it worse..” She approaches the helpless blonde with a small grin. Poppy’s persistence amazed her though, she’s never seen anyone determined to beat a car up. An expensive one at that.
“I hope you have some idea how to fix it, unless you’re here to waste my time and ask me on a date.”
Woah.
Okay that definitely threw Bea on a whim. She lets out a sharp laugh and bites her lips in amusement. She strolls towards the front of her car, holding Poppy’s gaze the whole way. She liked that the blonde didn’t avert her eyes. “And if I did? We couldn’t take your car of course, it’s obviously impaired.”
Poppy smiles and turns to look at Bea properly. She checks out every inch of her with no visible shame. An assessment so to say, and she likes what she sees.
“It’s your lucky day Poppy, I happen to know a thing or three about cars, and I desperately want to get this thing working so we can go on that date.” She winks playfully but god does she mean it. Bea silently prayed that the blonde wouldn’t take it the wrong way, but she knew she won when Poppy didn't protest, instead getting comfortable under some shade and holding her hand out, “the stage is all yours Jackson.”
***
“So what you’re trying to tell me is that I can’t jump over this obvious not-so-protected fence?”
“Judging by the sign right next to it that says...oh wow who would’ve thought, “DO NOT ENTER”, I don’t think so”, Poppy deadpans. It didn’t phase Bea of course because she was already halfway up the fence when the blonde turned away from the sign. The girl had a point to prove, maybe not a valid one, but still a point.
Poppy pinches her eyebrows in exasperation before looking back up to a nonchalant Bea swinging her legs from the top of the fence. She winks down at the blonde, “join me?”
Poppy didn’t expect to be climbing fences with a charismatic girl who had the same color hair as her when she moved schools, but she found herself embracing every moment of it. Although the trip up there was a struggle and some.
“I swear to god there’s a wire in my ass.”
“You’re being dramatic.”
“And we’re both going to end up in the hospital. Get. me. Down.”
Bea tries to hold in her laughter the whole way down but lets it loose when she sees Poppy still up there, partly hovering in the air. “Pops...I’ll catch you, don't worry. Climb down slowly.” She doesn’t. But Bea had her feet planted and ready because any moment with the sassy blonde was unpredictable. And she loved it. Especially because she had Poppy engulfed in her arms and they were so close their noses touched.
Bea promised herself she’d kiss the girl next time.
***
“You’re...in a gang?”
Bea felt a clasp of cold air enter her lungs as she stared ahead. It wasn’t like she could hide it from Poppy. She has a reputation, and word has gotten around about the two getting close. This was just like that one time at the end of sophomore year where Bea met Kelly Hall, a beautiful girl with golden rimmed glasses. Unfortunately she only could imagine what could’ve been after whispers ended up right on the doorstep of Kelly’s parents, and she suddenly changed her number, and switched out of every class she had with Bea.
The blonde didn’t want to entertain the thought of Poppy doing the same, but this was a lifestyle she chose.
“I mean...how?”
Bea sighs and turns to look at her, “I fell into the wrong crowd. Or maybe it’s the right one because I never found a true home until I met them. They’re family, I wouldn’t expect you to get it though and I understand if you want to distance-”
“I of all people know what it’s like to not fit in Jackson. You’ve found people who make you feel safe. Maybe I don’t agree with the troubles that come with being in a gang but I don’t know the whole story.”
“Do you want to?”
Poppy wraps her arms around Bea’s and lays her head on her shoulder, “I want to know that you won’t get yourself hurt but I know that’s nearly impossible.”
Bea exhales slowly, not knowing what to say. She knew that this would upset Poppy but her acceptance meant more. She didn’t know what this would mean for the two of them, if there was a “them”, but she felt more encouraged to share more of her other life with the blonde.
“Just promise me one thing Jackson.”
“Yeah?”
Poppy’s voice comes out softer than expected, and Bea ingests every emotion that comes with it, “Promise me you won’t ever put yourself in a position where you have to choose between me or the gang.”
Bea finds her hand in the space where their thighs touched and latches onto it like a lifebuoy,
“I promise.”
***
“I just remembered something Poppy.”
“What, that you have half a brain cell? I thought that was established Jackson.”
Bea launches a pillow that (purposely) misses Poppy’s head by an inch. If she actually hit her and frizzed up her locks then she’d never hear, or see..or walk again.
“I’m being serious. I just remembered this too, we never went on that car date we talked about.”
Poppy squints her eyes in confusion, but was fully aware of what Bea was referring to. “You mean the first time we met?”
The blonde smiles to herself as she replayed that day in her head over and over again. She couldn’t decide if Bea’s openly flirty behavior is what drew her in or if it was her ability to fix any of her possessions with ease. And for free.
Bea pulls Poppy up by her hands until her back is against the lockers. Another perfect opportunity for the blonde to make do of that promise she made to herself, but something told her to wait just a bit longer. “So what do you say? Poppy Min Sinclair, will you go on a date with me?”
Poppy rolls her eyes playfully, pulling Bea in closer by the collar of her letterman, “now who’s being dramatic?”
“I didn’t hear a no”
“I think you know what the answer is.”
That night Zoey helped Bea prep for her first date with the girl that she could say she was almost in love with. The taller girl brushed some dust off of Bea’s jacket and planted her hands on her shoulders, “remember Jackson, give her the ride of her life. And I mean that in every way possible.”
Thanks Zoe.
Bea watched Poppy drive up in front of her house and something inside her mind couldn’t deny the pang her heart let out when she saw Poppy smile the way she did.
Bea took control of the driving and told Poppy to recline her seat and enjoy the ride, with her seatbelt on of course. Safe sacrifices. They cruised through an empty highway blasting Poppy’s spotify playlist named “Rich Bitch Songs” because that was their ideal perfect date. It’s amazing that the two could even come to an agreement, but here we are.
She watched the beautiful blonde sing her lungs out and couldn’t help but mirror her joy, taking her hands off the steering wheel. The pump of adrenaline prompts a new excitement in the air and Poppy wraps Bea into a secure hug, her hair flying wildly with the wind. Bea slows the car down but the rapid beating of her heart made it seem they were going 100 miles per second.
“I feel so alive Jackson.”
Bea stared at the girl in the passenger seat with a look that could only be described as love.
“You make me feel alive.”
Poppy kept talking and Bea found a way to focus on both the road and the blonde next to her. Because when you truly enjoy something, you’ll find a way to keep experiencing it. And Bea enjoyed hearing Poppy’s voice, she loved everything about her.
“I feel like kissing you.”
“Then what’s stopping you?”
“...Nothing. I should’ve done this a long time ago.”
They kiss when Bea pulls over. A hot feeling consumes them like fire when their tongues collide and Bea plants her hands around Poppy’s hips, pushing her back into her seat until she’s on top. The windows easily start to fog up in reaction to the heat, and not once did they take their hands off each other.
Promise 1/2 kept

I'll even be a clown.. cause I just wanna amuse ya...
AN: Still stuck on the series's storyline.. And i freaking love Mäneskin.. sooooo i thought i'll bring them into my little universe as well while still keeping our Buck around. Tell me if you like this kind of thing or not. <3
Warnings: none
Words: 1,5 K
Pairing: Bucky x singer!reader
Summary: Reader is a singer who has a great friendship with the band Mäneskin, who are coming to New York for a concert, and would love to have her sing with them on stage. Thats when Bucky realizes why was the girl at the bar so familiar..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wanda liked Mäneskin ever since she saw them in Italy. They were young, sexy, fun and talented as hell. So when she saw the ads of them coming to NY she had to get tickets for the whole gang. Bucky wasn't so happy, but what could he do. He preferred the 40's music still, but might as well give it a go, maybe he will enjoy it.
Soon enough the day of the concert came, the others were all over the place, Bucky was quietly sitting at the bar, playing with his whiskey, swirling it around in the glass.
-Do you usually just play with your drinks, all lonely in bars? - a cheerful voice asked next to him. He looked it's owner up and down. A pair of black Dr. Martens, black stockings, highwaisted black leather shorts, black mesh top, with a lacy burgundy bra underneath, golden chains in her neck, red, naturally wavy hair, a smile to die for, and damn those vibrant green eyes.
-Staring at strangers a little to long as well, i see - you said chuckling, signalling the bartender that you wanna order. - i'll have a gin-soda with lime and one of whatever he's drinking.
He was still just staring at you.
-Thank you it's reallly flattering, but you can close your mouth now. Don't be a creep.. - you winked. - Cheers. - You clinked your glass to his, sipping into it.
- i-im sorry.. - he said absolutely stunned how open you were.
- Hi sorry, i'm sober. - you chuckled, sipping more of your drink, enjoying the taste.
-You're crazy. - he said chuckling, running a hand through his hair.
- Oh shut up everybody is.. C'mon the show's starting. - you said, grabbing his dogtags, making him follow you to the middle of the crowd, dancing around to the beat.
The first few songs went in a blur, he danced with you to all of them. From the corner Wanda and Sam kept an eye on you two.
-He doesn't have a clue who he's dancing with does he? - shouted Wanda into Sam's ear over the music.
-Even i don't have a clue. Why?
Just wait and see. - shouted Wanda while giggling, sipping her wine.
The song ended, when the singer started to scan the crowds with the other musicians while talking.
-We have a dear old friend in the crowd, and we thought we couldn't miss this opportunity to sing and party with her again. The next song is one i always tried to seduce her with, wonder why never did it work.. he said chuckling obviously making a joke, making the women in the front rows melt. - please welcome one of our dearest friend and most amazing singer in NY city with the same warmth.. (Y/N).. come on in here you old hag.. - he said while clapping for you.
Without a word you left Bucky there right in the middle. He couldn't process what was happening.
You hopped on the stage, waving at the people, quickly hugging and kissing the band. You were then facing the crowd, smirking at Bucky, you gave him a wink as the singer came up right into your face from the side as he started to sing.
I wanna be your slave I wanna be your master I wanna make your heart beat Run like rollercoasters I wanna be a good boy I wanna be a gangster 'Cause you can be the beauty And I could be the monster I love you since this morning Not just for aesthetic I wanna touch your body So fucking electric I know you scared of me You said that I'm too eccentric I'm crying all my tears And that's fucking pathetic.
You were now facing him, taking over dancing around him, with him. You were glowing, you were having the time of your life being able to sing with your friends again.
I wanna make you hungry Then I wanna feed ya I wanna paint your face Like you're my Mona Lisa I wanna be a champion I wanna be a loser I'll even be a clown Cause I just wanna amuse ya I wanna be your sex toy I wanna be your teacher I wanna be your sinner I wanna be a preacher I wanna make you love me Then I wanna leave ya 'Cause baby I'm your David And you're my Goliath.
You were putting on a show, just as you used to back when you lived in Italy. When you nearly kissed, Bucky felt a pang in his chest. He just met you yet you had him around your finger from the first minute. In a spare moment you saw how his jaw clenched at how close Adamo was to you. Smirking, you know the handsome stranger will certainly take you home now.
The concert finished, and Bucky found himself drinking at the bar alone again, hoping you'd find him again somehow. And that is what you did.
-(y/n) by the way. - You said holding your hand for him to shake, with the biggest smile on your face.
-Bucky. - He took it, and his hand lingered on yours a little longer. - Can i buy you a drink?
- You can. - you said with a smirk. He was handsome you thought. You wouldn't mind having a bit of fun with him tonight.
The next hour you two were talking, getting to know eachother. It was time that the place closes, so you grabbed your leather jacket and went out.
-Do you wanna talk a bit more? I-i'm sorry if it sound lame. i'm kinda rusted in this department... But i would really like to spend some more time with you.. - He said while running a hand through his hair, resting it on the back of his head. He was nervous and you found it unbearably cute.
-It depends... do you have anything to drink while we're doing the ' talking'? - you tried to hint on having a bit more fun than talking. It wasn't that you were sleeping with every man you could, but you were set on the idea that whatever a man can do without shame so can women. You loved to live freely, doing whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted. And if it was a god-like handsome man you met at a concert, then hell so be it.
-I'm sure i can find something.. - He said with a smile. You saw how he calmed knowing that you'll go with him. It was cute that he worried you might not. He tried to mask it with that flirty-masculinity that you loved, but deep down you both know you had the reins.
On the way to his apartment you were laughing at some old stories he told you about his past. Dates that go wrong, nights he helped old friends to get home, nights they helped him. There was something about you that made him feel like a little boy trying to get his first date, yet let him be himself at the same time. It confused him, but in a good way. You didn't even realize you were holding hands the most of the way. When you arrived he took his keys out and opened the door, letting you enter before him.
You hopped down on the couch waiting for him to bring you a drink. It was whiskey, which had you make funny faces as it was stronger than what you used to usually drink. Youeyed up his record collection. You always adored the way vinyl made the music sound. It gave you a homey feeling. It was mostly records from the 40-50's, but what stood out is an album of Quentin Tarantino songs. You took it out and put it on while he watched you from the couch, smiling, fascinated by how comfortable you seemed in his place, as if you were living here. His smile grew even bigger when you started to dance around for one of your all time favourite songs that was in a Tarantino movie. Stuck in the middle with you by Stealers Wheel. You jumped around, took his hand, making him stand up and dance with you. You felt like freedom..
When the next song came ( Girl, you'll be a woman soon by Urge overkill) he put his hands on your waist, bringing you closer, you put your hands in his neck, looking deep into his mesmerizing blue eyes and slowdanced. You were smiling at eachother, then he leaned in to kiss you. It was the best damn kiss you've ever had. You wanted to have more, which ended in a heavy makeout session on his couch, him only wearing his jeans now as you admired his well built chest and over all just him... You had to admit he's pretty god-like. One thing led to another and the next morning you found yourself waking up in the handsome strangers bed when the sun just came up.It was around 5 am. His hands around you, legs tangled. Both of you stark naked. You smiled at him, gave him one last peck. By the time he woke up, his bed only had the remains of you. A lingering scent of liqour and peaches, and a note with burgundy kiss mark on it. You must've kissed the paper goodbye instead of him he thought with a sad smile. He would've loved to wake up to the sight of you, to memorize your face, your body.
The note only said: two weeks from now, where the sun emerges from the sea. 5 am.
He smiled at this little note. It's a date he murmured. He went out to make coffee, after all he'll have to deal with his friends asking all kinds of questions. He was sure they won't miss the content look on his face. He had an amazing night, topped it off with amazing sex, and maybe two weeks from now he'll get to meet you again..

@dylantheobrienx
“Nope, not taking even a teeny tiny bit of the blame” Dylan playfully assured, laughing with Hailee. “Okay, MOM!” Dylan titled his head, finding amusing Hailee’s way to walk him through everything he should be doing. She really was there to take care of him, and he couldn’t be more thankful, but he would still tease her about it. “But you’re right, I shouldn’t go to back to bed tonight before changing everything…” He gave in, going about his kitchen getting both their drinks ready, the smell of coffee filling the room making him feel better already. “Shhhh, don’t ruin the fantasy.” He chuckled, “It is definitely addictive. I’ve fallen down that hill long ago, no turning back for me now.” He confessed. It was indeed a long lost battle, no point in denying. “Sugar is the best invention, I couldn’t blame me even if I didn’t put butter in my coffee. And don’t hate on my coffee preferences if you don’t even have coffee!” He faked indignation, finishing off with her tea, giving it to Hailee in an I love NY mug. “All set.” He declared, closing the dish washing machine after putting away the utensils he used to prepare their drinks. “The mask sounds perfect, fun enough, and it allows us to indulge in side conversation since we both already saw it before, I’m assuming?”
"The rudeness! Can't even take one for the team." She teases with a grin and shake of her head, his next words causing her a fit of giggles to escape as she covers her face with her hands, a blush making its way onto her cheeks. "Oh god, I did totally just mom'd you, didn't I?" She asks despite his obvious statement, finally putting her hands back down as she turns her head away slightly to conceal her blush. "Hey, you can't blame me when I know that you would be mom'ing me too if our roles were reversed." Hailee jokes, bumping her hip softly into his as she reaches up to feel his temperature on his face, a gentle hand laying on his cheek. "You definitely feel alright." She muses, her hand momentarily lingering as she smiles up at him before quickly putting her hand back down and letting him make their beverages. "The fantasy of me having one flaw? But then when you saw the other flaws, you'd be disappointed, so I might as well point out that I'm not perfect now!" Hailee explains with a laugh as she takes in a deep breath. "Thankfully at this point, people don't push for me to try it as much anymore so, I don't have to worry about that, I'll just stick to my tea. Hey, I'm sorry but butter in coffee is so weird! It'd be like if I tried to put it in my tea." She scrunches up her nose in disgust at the thought and chews on her bottom lip nervously as she takes the mug with a small 'thank you.' "I'm really embracing the tourist vibe with this mug and I love it." She remarks as she sits back down on the couch and pats the spot beside her as she puts the movie on. "Your assumption is correct, I've seen this one a few times in the past." As the movie started, she sips on her tea and licks her lips, momentarily glancing over at him. "If you had one wish and it could be done right now, what would it be?"

Riptide Day 2 / Undertow
September 11, 2021
D-Day.
Kevin, Ivan, Joey, and I were getting a ride from Spencer, who was also taking Narq to the venue, while Robert and Parker got a ride from someone else. Well, at least we didn’t have to walk to the venue. I didn’t pack sunscreen.
At 9am, about half an hour we were supposed to leave, Kevin gets a stomachache.
Me: He just needs to poop. Spencer: The classic.
We end up going to the lobby to wait for Spencer in Narq, which was fine considering we actually didn’t want Spencer, our ride, waiting for us.
Spencer: Okay, Narq’s just using the bathroom rq lol Me: Is he also having tummy problems Spencer: Nah just bein stoner and forgetting to do stuff lol Me: The classic
We go get Chick-fil-A and I’m sitting underneath the dashboard again by Kevin’s feet. I think the employees were very bewildered, as the woman on the other side of the window did a double take. I would, too, if I saw a smaller-than-average person just hiding underneath the dashboard sipping on a cup of Coke.
Some time after I get to the venue during doubles, I end up talking to Jimmy (j u m), when Kevin comes rushing over to me, a panicked look on his face.
Forgot to mention, but Kevin actually couldn’t get all of his poop out before coming to the venue and now it is back with a vengeance.
He tells me that he’s unable to go to any restroom because there were three stalls in the men’s restroom: two were occupied and one was clogged with poop.
He had tried flushing the poop one but it only made it worse. It just clogged more and the water level rose. If he had sat down and insisted on finishing, his balls would be touching the water and that’s a no-no.
He tried asking the front desk for other restrooms, but he was informed it was the only one. He was desperate and you could just see it in his eyes that he was about to break.
Me, using the big, wrinkly brain that I had, told him to use the women’s restroom. He froze, not even realizing that that was an option.
Now before anyone complains, hear me out.
I would rather be in a restroom with a male in the stall next to me, than exit the restroom and see someone standing outside the men’s restroom trying to wait for a stall with a shit stain in his pants. Excuse the vulgarity, but it’s true.
If you’re ever at one of my tournaments and you need to go and no male restroom is unoccupied, for the love of god, please fucking use the women’s restroom. I do not need this mess on my hands and you best believe I’m shoving myself in the men’s restroom if I gotta fucking go expel unicorns and rainbows.
I go to the restroom with Kevin and stand awkardly on my phone to keep watch, because he didn’t want any of the staff members actually seeing him and risk himself getting kicked out of the venue.
That would’ve been extremely unfortunate.
Luckily, nobody else needed to go use the restroom while Kevin was in there and he was able to safely compete his duty (lol).
If anyone is upset at my suggestion, I’m sorry, but I wasn’t about to not provide such a simple solution for Kevin’s emergency.
Anyway, the tournament start shortly after that.
First match I pay attention to is Kevin vs. Wombat. In my head, I think it’s pools so I shouldn’t worry too much. I try to watch Kevin’s sets, but it makes me physically ill sometimes because my anxiety is wracked up like crazy and I just want to throw up. Many have witnessed me walking away and trying to distract myself multiple times at multiple different tournaments.
It’s like that gory horror movie that you can’t keep looking away from.
Besides knowing that I get sick, I figured it would be fine since I actually enjoy trying to support my boyfriend and watch him come out of pools winners’ side. Not meaning any disrespect by Wombat, by the way. He’s great. Just realistic. It’s like how I expect Kevin to lose to Bob.
Kevin loses Game 1.
Ooh my tummy’s doing barrel rolls like the way Twisty did with that pullout bed. I look away but I’m just so distracted by the crowd noises.
I totally get it, though. Obviously, it’s sick that Wombat’s holding his own against Kevin, who is seed 3 of the tournament. I’d be excited, too, if my friend was making an upset on someone else. But Kevin’s my boyfriend, so obviously, I want him to win.
Kevin barely wins Game 2 and I’m like ooooh boy. My tummy’s going to town and I think I gag a little by how sick I feel. Gotta focus on getting Joey his next match. *deep breaths*
When heartswaptv airs the whole tournament, definitely check out the set. It was really good (as far as I can hear, I couldn’t bring myself to watch the rest of it).
Kevin comes over to me after he’s out of pools and I scold him for making me worried.
AND YOU NOW WHAT HE SAYS?
Kevin: Babe, it’s fine - I almost lost to Zeddy at Redacted City and I got 2nd. I’ll be fine. Me: T____T *incoherent whining noises*
Does Kevin thinks he’s fucking cute for saying that or something? I was not amused.
Since I didn’t have to volunteer TO the entirety of the tournament, I bounced around mingling with other people.
At one point, I get a message from Suvir in our group chat about how he, Sosa, and Narq were planning on coming to visit NorCal. Of course, since Narq was already here, I decided to just go up to him and ask.
Me: So I heard you’re coming to NorCal? Narq: I am? Me: That’s what Suvir said. *shows phone* Narq: I guess I’m going to NorCal!
Suvir: Narq doesn’t actually know. Sosa just said he’d take him with him and said Narq would agree to go because he’s Narq. Me: Oh that makes sense why he had no idea what I was talking about.
It wasn’t until around top bracket did things start to pick up. Not too many spoilers, because (1) no spoilers before they upload the vod and (2) I have a terrible memory when it comes to the matches.
I remember holding up Kevin’s phone to stream to our Discord because we had some non-PM player friends who wanted to see and I think Kevin wanted Thomas (ThundeRzReiGN) to give him some advice throughout the tournament. Not actually coach, but to critique his play.
As more and more top players fell, Kevin made it a goal to do his best not to fall into the landmine that was Losers’. So many heavy hitters were large threats to him: Techboy, Malachi, Akimi, Cloudburst...
Not to say that Winners’ side didn’t have their fair share of monsters: Peter, Parker, Kumatora, Twisty, Nogh, Lunchables...
Kevin’s first match in Top 32 was against Bongo, who people sleep on quite a lot. For those of you that don’t know him, he’s a Captain Falcon from NY who actually beat Kevin at Flex Zone 3 in 2018. Kevin had beaten him at Encore, but it wasn’t easy.
Not to mention Falcon is a pain the butt for Mario. Unfortunately, the match was not recorded (as far as I know), and it was a very exciting match from what I heard. I avoided watching it because based on how long it took, I knew it had to have been a Game 5. During that time, two matches have been finished on “stream.”
Kevin had said his match against Bongo was the toughest one he had - not to discredit his other opponents, of course - but according to him, it was the scariest and closest. Also the threat of being put into Losers so early would’ve made the climb to Top 8 a lot harder.
His overall goal was actually to make Top 8. Despite being a third seed and rank 5, what I’ve noticed about Kevin is that he does have doubts about himself quite often. He’s never complacent in his opponents and worries all the time about being upset and I don’t think anyone puts more pressure on him more than himself.
As I watched my friends progress through bracket, all I can think is there’s not much I can do. I don’t understand the game very much, despite my heavy involvement in the scene. In fact, more often than not, I believe I understand the game the least compared to everyone else.
A tangent from the actual tournament itself is coming, but I think I should address why I’m even in this community:
While everyone loves the game, I love the community behind it. I find it worth it to sit/stand in one location for hours at a time because it allows my friends to enjoy the game they love comfortably without worrying how the tournament is progressing. They can focus on their own growth and passion.
I think what I see is completely different. Like I said, I don’t really understand this game - I can’t differentiate uairs, bairs, d-smashes, etc. I compute it in my head, but can’t visualize it. I don’t recognize most combos - in fact, more often than not, I’m sitting there just staring at the screen kind of blankly. Sometimes, it does make me wonder if I really am part of this community because I don’t really understand the game.
I can’t say I particularly care too much about the game, but I understand how much of an impact it’s made on me and for that, I’m very thankful for this game because it’s led me to some great people.
Back to the actual event and less sap. lol. Is anybody still even reading?
For something put together in a mere two weeks, Trin and their team did an amazing job. Three recording set ups, graphics, a pot, a venue... props to them for gathering the scraps and making a whole out of it. And to think we almost didn’t go.
Madeline (Swanner) ended up coming and it was honestly so good to see her. We aren’t particularly close, but she’s someone I’ve come to care for and just want happiness for her.
Major spoiler, but I don’t think anybody who cares about PM/P+ doesn’t know Kevin won the tournament.
Everyone expected a pop-off, but Kevin just sat there, crying.
I don’t think there’s ever been anything that Kevin has been more passionate about. He loves this game; he loves this community. Never did it ever occur to him that he would win.
I wish I could say more, but honestly, him winning stunned me speechless. And if you didn’t know, the first thing he said after was that he had to call his mother.
His mom is one of his biggest supporters and I love her to death. She has such a huge heart and has never, ever frowned upon Kevin’s love for the game, whole-heartedly supporting it.
I hugged Maddy, because I can’t even imagine how heart-breaking it must be for her to see what could have been on the mainstage. I imagined how much it must’ve hurt her because she just loves the game and the community, but to see it constantly be torn down by Nintendo and her unable to do anything... Give Maddy a hug and thank her if you see her. She deserves the world.
We ended up walking home with PNW, Bob, Mar, Bongo, Cameron (LoyaL), Ivan, and a few others, honestly too dark to completely see and name. It was a very nice night.
We did, however, pass by the rundown house that definitely looked like if we were to talk in there, we’d be killed by the axe murderer that lived there.
Kevin also lagged behind a lot because his phone notifications were going off like crazy and I was worried he was going to just get lost in the darkness or get hit by a car. Stop looking at your phone when you cross the street, dammit.
We got back to our hotel room and ordered pizza - it was bad. God-fucking-dammit, Ohio, why do you suck so much? Kind of a shitty dinner to end the day on, but nothing else was open at 2am. FeelsBadMan.

DRABBLE #13 - The Library
I’m happy to post the first Drabble requested by @merlinsluxuriousloungewear! 😀 I really liked writing it with our fluffy Alexander ❤️ I hope you’ll like it ! Thanks for having proposed this idea! 😘
Let me know if you want to be tagged for the next ones 😀
Summary : Reading is your favorite hobby. You are doing your thesis in English Literature at Columbia University in NY. You spend all your time at the national library and there you meet a very interesting Swedish guy...
Pairing : Alexander Skarsgård x Reader
Warnings : None just fluff everywhere ! ❤️
“Ah...There you are Byron”, you say to yourself as taking the book from the shelve. You were searching for that damned book for 5 minutes now because someone had misplaced it. Going back to your desk, you mentally curse those who did this. How can it be possible to not respect the rules ? "We are in a library, for god sake". You sit down on your chair, in front of the place where all your stuffs were, and sigh. The book you were carrying finds a place next to the others in a muffle sound.
You were actually working on a big project that you have to give back in two weeks for a final exam. The subject is “The English literature within the ages”. This is a real complex subject and you don’t have time to waste. You quickly take the books you need to complete your references in front of you, open them at the right pages and put your headphones on to lock yourself into your favorite workspace. You absolutely love working at the library but most of all with your favorite music into your ears. Well the library was quite quiet but you were always distracted. Sometimes because of a new incomer who just ask a bit too loud some informations at the desk or other times by distracted people who make fall their stuffs on the ground. It’s exasperating you but you can’t do anything against that. You love so much being here that you tolerate such things with your music on.
Ten minutes later, you raise up your head from your book to choose an other one when your heart make a jump into your chest. At the main entrance, you recognize the guy that comes almost everyday since a week now. Well he’s quite noticeable cause he’s really tall, like he could take a look above the shelves! But what aroused more your curiosity was the fact that he looks absolutely gorgeous. It is not because some people consider you as a bookworm that you are completely out of reality. You watch guys like any other girl and had some boyfriends too. You can have feelings for beautiful men but this one is really special. It’s the first time that someone catch your attention like this.
As usual, he takes his wallet from his back pocket to bring out his member card. He shows it to the secretary at the entry and comes inside the library. As discreetly as possible, you follow him with your eyes. He really have a smooth walk for someone so tall. You notice that he is carrying a little notebook and a pen. He poses them on a desk just a few meter from you. Sometimes, you just pretend to check some things on your computer ; you really became an expert in spying these past few days. It’s incredible how fast you can develop some tricks to not be caught. After placing his stuffs, he takes a little piece of paper, probably with some references on it, and goes directly into the shelves.
You breath when he’s out of sight. “My god what are you doing (X/Y)”, you mentally say to you to get yourself up. This is really impolite to spy people. You know it and yet you can’t prevent yourself from doing it. This guy literally become an obsession, this is crazy. Since the first time you noticed him, you can't stop searching for him at the library. You noted that he was there every day in the afternoon. Sometimes, you were even checking your watch more than usual just to be sure that he will be here soon. You started to pay more attention to your appearance, wearing nice clothes, hoping for something. Maybe just a glance.
Five minutes later, he comes back at his desk with three little books and sits. Behind your computer, you give some discreet glances in his direction until you finally get caught. He raises his head and his look directly goes straight in your direction. Immediately, the fire rises at your cheeks and you pretend to search for something into an other book. Your movements become a bit untidy and your hands are nearly shaking. You feel really stupid at that moment.
Did he notice your insistent glances ? Or was he just looking accidentally in your direction ? You really pray for the second option otherwise he'll really think you are a crazy girl or something like that. Now, because of that, you can't look at him anymore during the day or it will be very suspect.
You go back to your work, a bit frustrated but that’s part of the game. Too bad but it’s like that. “What were you expecting after all?”. You close a bit sharply the Byron’s book and go to search some others. Now it’s time to talk about Shakespeare. You do a quick search for references on the net, write them on a piece of paper before going to the right shelf. After a little walk, you find the “English Theatre” shelf, settled on a isolated side of the library. with no desks or sofas to sit around. You go into the shelf and search among the books. You eyes looking quickly at the references and your note at the same time. After some seconds of searching, you finally find the first book you need.
“Oh no...”, you whisper as you notice that the books is situated at the last level of the shelf and of course, you are too short. Classic. You take a look around but there’s no sign of a stool that could help you. You sigh and search for an other solution. Impossible to ask at the help desk because you don’t have time to waste. Plus you know well the secretary and she’s quite slow when it comes to take decisions.
“Ok then. If I really have to...”. You put your hands on the shelf, checking the strength. You are really thin and these are really old shelves made with strong woods. You won’t fall and it won't broke. At least, you hope so. When you feel that you have enough support with your hands, you put your two feet at the base of the shelf. Then you slowly climb, level after level. Luckily you had put a pants today. You don’t want to imagine what it would look like with a skirt...
At the second level, you try to raise your hand to grab the book but you are stil to short. You could just reach the start of the last shelf.
“Damn...”, you whisper, out of breath. It’s quite hard to stay in balance in this position with your right hand up. You rise up a little bit and raise your hand again, a bit higher.
“C’mon (X/Y), just a little more...”. You were just about to reach it when you suddenly feel that you were losing balance. Like in a movie, it was like the time just slow down as you were falling down. You close your eyes, knowing that you don’t have the possibility to grab something to hold you back, except books but it won’t really help you. You just wait for your fall until...
“Wow...are you alright miss ?”.
You don’t fall on the ground, like expected, but into arms. You open your eyes and discover that you were just lying into the arms of the perfect stranger you were stalking. You open your mouth to say something but for a moment, no sounds come. You feel really stupid, even more than when you get caught.
“Oh...Hum...Yes...” you manage to say, being shocked by what happened and embarrassed at the same time. He looks at you with a smile, apparently amused by the situation. It’s the first time that you see his face so close and you aren’t really disappointed. He really have a beautiful face, with delicate features and fascinating eyes. You feel the red coming again at your cheeks. Gently, he drops forward to let you feel the ground again. Your right hand lean on his shoulder as you go down.
“May I ask you what were you doing on that shelf ?”, he asks with a hint of humor. His voice his really cool and you notice a little accent but from where ?
“Well...I just wanted to take that book”, you answer as showing him the little Shakespeare book that moved a little bit from his place. You then realized that you endangered and made a fool of yourself for just a stupid book. The guy lets out a smooth laugh and just takes it easily to give it to you. Being that tall can really be useful!
“Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet. Good choice”, he reads the title on the cover. You grab it and thank him with a shy smile. You feel the red coming back again and you try to calm yourself.
“You had chosen a good one too”, you declare as showing him the “Othello” he was carrying. He looks at it and smile. God, he’s so delicious when he’s smiling.
“Oh yeah”, he answers as showing it. “I was doing some searches for a role I’m going to play soon. Some kind of a medieval tragedy, you know”. So that’s why he was spending time at the library...He was maybe an artist. You feel surprised by the fact that he is easily talking to you, like if you knew each other for a long time. But you really enjoy his company and you don't want this little chat to end.
“Then maybe I can advise....” you say as searching for “Macbeth” among the books in the shelf. Of course, this one was at your level so you quickly take it to take him. “It will help you more for medieval tragedy”.
“Wow, are you a Shakespeare’s expert or something?”.
“Not really”, you laugh a little, “I’m learning English literature so Shakespeare is of course in the program”. He whistle, impressed apparently but it make you feel a bit embarrassed.
“Well...Since Shakespeare has no secret for you...Would you like to take a coffee or something with me? You could share me all your advices ?”. He proposes that after coming a bit closer. You look at him, in disbelief. 30 mins ago you were just stalking him behind your computer and now he was proposing to take a coffee ? That was really an unexpected day. You couldn’t missed this opportunity.
“I’d love too. After all, I owe you a coffee, you just saved my life”, you answer with a little smile, placing a lock of your hair behind your ear.
“You’re right. I’m Alexander” he says as showing you his hand with a big smile.
“(X/Y). Nice to meet you”.

Series Masterlist __ Masterlist
Your feet carried you along the hallway. This was it, you were finally here. The one place you’ve dreamed about, the ones towards which all of your hopes were inclining. The special victims unit of New York’s police. Most people, however, called them the Avengers for the dedication to avenging the unfortunate victims’ souls and lives. You knew you couldn’t work for this team unless someone put a good word for you and your well-done job.
So you kept your head down, and after the police academy went to work for the missing persons unit to prove you were a more than capable of handling the job. One thing that stood in your way, and not only in the police work was your presentation. Ever since you presented as Omega when you were 17, your life changed dramatically. You were used to the stereotypes and aggressive and touchy Alphas by now, and with your training, you could take on most of them.
You could, however, see that most Alphas in the police academy and then later in your previous unit weren’t trusting your skills and they were undermining your every step of the way. But you came back stronger, more determined and definitely more than ready to show all those assholes that you were more than a womb for their seed or a pretty face. You were tough! And you were about to prove it!
The team of the SVU was a big one, the whole police department knowing that these were the crimes most common in NY and in this case, the more, the merrier. The unit was run by an Alpha, naturally, but from what you heard, he was one of the good ones.
His name was Captain Rogers, and from the photos you’ve seen from the numerous arrests you saw, he was really handsome, with that big bulky arms and enchanting eyes. Not really your type if you were honest with yourself, he looked like too much of a goody-goody, but, who knows, right? But looks aside, all departments knew that this Captain was fair, doing his job so well some people wanted to see him in a chair of a Commissioner, even though he was only 30-35, who could tell, right? You were actually really excited to work for/with him and most importantly, to learn from him. Hopefully, you’d get the chance.
Other than him, however, you didn’t really know anyone from the team. You could maybe tell one or two names, but that was it. You really hoped these people, even though most probably mostly Alphas, were not as horrible as your previous team. You didn’t mean to offend anybody, but they really were just bunch of knot-headed idiots…
All except the only Beta on the team, and your rock for the past two years. His name is Vision or short Vis, and he really was one of the main reasons why you stayed on the team and didn’t give up on your dream. It was him telling you almost every day that you were good enough and that you could do big things, if only you wanted and were determined enough to actually start doing them. Soon after you guys met, he introduced you to his fiancé, Wanda, also a Beta, who is an artist- she does everything from oil painting to creating sculptures from old washing machines (yup, she’s done that!).
Sure, you did have some friends from college, but you mostly lost touch with them, never really feeling as if you fitted between them. The Alphas really only saw you as a piece of meat, and the Omegas… well, they were friendly, and all but you could see that their only aspiration in life was to get mated, give their Alphas as many pups as they could and.. that was it.
However, there still was one exception (there always was, right?) and you were thanking whatever God was sitting upstairs for bringing her into your life. Her name was Gamora and, just like you, she wanted to prove to everyone that Omegas were as valuable in the society as any Alpha. She was now part of the fire department in NY, the only Omega in the whole unit, and you couldn’t have been more proud of her.
You stopped before the door to the office. You shouldn’t be thinking about your whole life right before you’re starting a new job. You cleared your throat, took three calming breaths and opened the door.
What you could already tell from just the one step you took into the open-office, was the lighter air that surrounded you. You could smell all three presentations mingling in the air, and the atmosphere could only be described as calm. Which is definitely not the word you would use to describe your previous job. Sure, stressful, constricted, too-much-testosterone, those words you could use, but calm? Friendly? Never.
Few people looked up from their works, slightly nodded their heads and smiled, but nothing really more than that as you continued on your way to the Captain’s personal office.
Knock, knock. “Come in,” you heard from the inside of the room. “Ah, detective Y/L/N. You are a little early, I like that!” He smiled, warmly at you as you shook his hand. “Captain Rogers, I’m really thankful for this opportunity and-“you couldn’t finish your sentence as he raised his hand and smiled again. “Don’t thank me, detective. It was your hard work and so many successful arrests and finding of the missing people that got you this job. We are thrilled to have you here.”
You released a breath you didn’t know you were holding. When he raised the hand, you really expected him to shut you up by saying that he had to employ you, or that he doesn’t expect you to last so you shouldn’t really be thankful. But the warmth which radiated from him, his friendly smile, those were not the things you were prepared for.
“So, to get to the work, I’ll pair you up with one of our senior detectives, Scott Lang. Give me a sec.” He went around you, opened the door and yelled: “Hey, Lang, your new partner’s here.”
Which was followed by a loud laughing howl by what you thought was Scott. “Excuse him, he is just a big child sometimes, but somehow, he is really good at his job.” Steve looked at you, half amused. “’s ok. I’m really used to pretty much anything, sir.” You smiled at him as you smelt an Alpha coming to the office.
“You must be Y/L/N! I’m so excited to meet you! I mean, sheesh, your stats? Unbelievable, you gotta show me all your secrets, dude!” He then grabbed you and pulled you into a bear hug. What the fuck is happening?
“I mean when I heard I was gonna be paired up with you? Man, I almost fainted! You are like a fracking legend thanks to that Rumlow arrest!” He was literally beaming. You couldn’t help your own smile as you watched the Alpha ramble on and on.
You giggled when Captain stopped Scott from going on with his outburst. “Alright, you can fangirl over your partner later, Lang,” he turned to you with an apologetic shrug, to which you just smiled and rolled your eyes playfully. “Let me introduce you to the rest of the squad, and after that, we got a job to do. Come on.”
“Listen up, squad. This is detective Y/N Y/L/N. Detective, this is your new squad, your new family. Detective Tony Stark,” he showed you a smaller Alpha, with a smirk on his face, obviously full of himself but he didn’t look at you like you were a piece of meat. Just amused look seeing a newbie, really.
“He is also like our IT genius, so whenever you have a problem, he is your person.” The Captain continued. You both just nodded at each other, and the introduction continued. “This is his Omega, doctor Bruce Banner, he is our forensic guy and pretty much anything science-going on, it goes through him.” Bruce hugged you, “It is so nice to meet you, it must be overwhelming to come to such big new squad, but these idiots are really fine.” He smirked at you, and you laughed. “Hey, who you calling an idiot, huh? We’ll talk about it at home, LOVE!” Tony’s voice beamed behind Bruce. He just rolled his eyes and shrugged, “Yeah, whatever you say, my big bad Alpha.”
You really laughed out loud and even snorted a little, which caused little laughs all around the squad. “With a laugh like that? You’ll be just fine here, sweetheart.” Said the only female voice on the team, a Beta who introduced herself as Natasha. You liked her immediately. “I haven’t heard such teasing between Alphas and Omegas in a long time, that’s all.” “Well, sweetie, get used to it because the teasing here? That’s a daily tea!” She smiled and winked. “Oh I can’t wait, bring it!” You all laughed when suddenly, the front door opened.
Before you could actually notice who was coming in, you could smell them. Two Alphas. One’s smell was very regular, and due to your suppressants (which you were really taking as a precaution in your line of work), all Alphas smell more or less the same to you. You can smell the testosterone and the “strength” if you could call it that.
But the other Alpha was different. You took another whiff of air, and it suddenly hit you like a tidal wave. This Alpha (you couldn’t yet see if it was a man or a woman, due to the squad surrounding you) smelled like heaven to you. It was a combination of sandalwood, the smell of forest shortly after rain and something else, like a spice which you weren’t able to identify. But you didn’t really care.
The only thing running through your mind was one word: MATE! MATE! MATE! Was it possible?
Not that you didn’t believe in true mates, your heart was romantic enough to keep that hope alive. But as you were growing older, and none of the Alphas you met ignited any fire in you, you started to slowly give up.
But now you were sure. He or she was here and though you would never say it out loud, the Omega in you started purring contently. You could remotely hear the team talking about something, a joke maybe? You weren’t sure as you went on your tip-toes to try and see who walked through that door. You could see 4 eyes looking your way, one pair brown and you felt that those weren’t those eyes you were looking for.
The second pair was icy blue and when you looked into them, you felt as if the Alpha could see right into your soul. You wanted to look away, tried not to be the stereotypical Omega, but you just couldn’t make yourself let go.
There was a scenario in your head, for when you’d meet your Alpha. You tried not to think of it, but it was there, in the back of your mind. You would look at each other, walk towards each other, touch each other’s cheek and smile and just be happy. You didn’t need a fairytale, just this little act of future love and affection.
Your feet, therefore, carried you towards this Adonis of an Alpha, still looking into his eyes. What you didn’t expect, however, was the Alphas loud growl. It stopped you in your tracks. You wanted to whine but stopped yourself. You were an adult with some self-control. Even if you could feel this control slipping away each second you were in the Alpha’s presence.
He snarled, shook his head and turned around to run out of the open-office and, probably, outside of the building too.
The whine escaped your lips however hard you tried to suppress it. What was this Alpha’s problem? You immediately started to blame yourself, for probably not being his type, or not being pretty enough, but you stopped yourself. You used to blame yourself for every little misstep, for every bad mood of your father’s, Christ, even for the rain pouring down too hard when you had to do something outside. But the longer you spent with good friends like Gamora or Vis you realised, other people’s issues had mostly nothing to do with you.
So you knew that this wasn’t your fault! He just left without even getting to know you, touching you… What was this Alpha’s problem?

Title:Epitaph Song
Chapter: 1 Down South
P O V: Amanda Rollins
Billy's Diner

(A/N: Thank you as always for the readers who take the time to review, favorite or follow. As usual I own none of these SVU characters just my original characters. All others belong to NBC, Dick Wolf and Wold Ent. Jessie, Billie do not exist in this fic, I am still deciding if Noah dose or not. If you have a preference as to if you want Noah in it or not hit me up reviews motivate me.)
"Oh, Air Condition, thank God! It's hotter than a roasted pig on a skewer out there." Olivia Benson's laugh is light and airy as we enter the restaurant. "Oh, Amanda, I love your expressions, don't ever change. Seriously your southern drawl is so cute. Don't ever lose it."
"No worries, Olivia; it's been nearly ten years since I moved to New York. I haven't lost it yet." "Thanks again for coming down south with me. It means a lot."
"Your welcome Amanda, are you feeling any better since this weekend?" Shaking the soreness out of my weary bones I feel a yawn snaking up my jawlines as I try to fight it off to no avail, the yawn is relentless in its attempt to escape.
"A little thanks I am still tired and nausea I don't know why I slept all weekend, yet I still feel dizziness not as much as this weekend, but I am still weakened almost as if I am drained of all energy." Sliding into the booth, I lean back against the cool plastic backboard. "I'm sorry for calling out on you this weekend, Captain."
"Amanda, please, stop don't worry about it your health is too important don't apologize." "I am sorry, Liv, not just for this weekend, but now we're both away from NYC."
"Because your dad passed away, Amanda, we're not here on vacation. Kat and Fin understand, and Chief Garland sent two detectives to help out, SVU is covered. Please take some of this concern and apply it to yourself; you lost your dad. I know you haven't been close to him in years, but he is still your dad, give yourself the allowance to mourn, Amanda. Don't hide your emotions down and pretend that everything is perfectly fine."
"I don't think it's hit me yet, Olivia. I just don't feel anything." Olivia's hand slips over my hand as we lay them on the table, waiting on the waitress to come over to us. "It will Amanda, I don't know when sweetie, it may take weeks, days, months, but it will hit you. I just want you to know that I am here, honey, whenever you want to talk."
"Thank you, Liv; I appreciate this jester I know we haven't always been close, but I love the friendship that has been built over the last four years." "As do I Amanda. I love the trust that we've built within each other, the respect. Where is the waitress?"
"Liv, it's the south; we take our sweet time with everything, ain't no rushin' in the country life."
"You ever miss living down here, Peach?" "Honestly, Liv, there are parts I miss like my family, friends. I miss the comfort in knowing there is always someone here who will have your back. What I don't miss is everyone knowing everyone else business."
"Is that a true thing? Everyone else knows each other's business?"
As if God was given me a clue incomes Betsy Jane Rose "Oh, my bless my heart Amanda-Taylor Rollins, is that truly you?" I pick my head up, gritting my teeth as she comes flying inside the restaurant arms wild "Betsy Jane Mary-Sue it sure is, wow child it's been yonders since you've rolled back into these parts."
"Oh, I am so sorry about your daddy, such a shame bless your heart honey-bee."
"Oh well, how sweet of you, Ms. Betsy, so very kind of you thank you, how did you hear about my daddy's passing per se? We didn't put it in the Tribune or online."
"Oh, Sugar, you know how these things work, Lord, who needs that dingy old paper when we gave word of mouth. Has it been that long Darlin? Surely you remember the good old Betsy-Jane- Mary-Sue train."
"Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit. Oh Amanda, let me enlighten you wow New York City has slapped you silly, child. Anyways So Mary-Jo Higgins oh heavens I was born at night, but not last night! Duh, of course, you don't know who Mary-Jo Higgins is, well back in our days of youth she went by Mary-Jo Robins, so any who baby, Mary-Jo is now an RN."
"That's a Registered Nurse, by the way." "Yes, Ms. Rose, I know what an RN is."
"So yeah Mary-Jo works a that's Loganville Medical Center where your daddy was brought to by the Ambulance. So Mary-Jo was there when he passed bless his heart so Mary-Jo well you know good ol' Mary-Jo never could keep a secret so of course, she told her Mama who had to run down to the Salon to say to Ms. Sue who of course told the whole Salon."
Both of us laugh, "How did you find out, darlin?"
"Oh, you know this little thing called HIPPA they like to notify the Next of Kin, and since my parents you know divorced many moons ago, that would make me the eldest child his next of kin, since he hasn't gotten to remarry yet."
"Speaking of kin-folk dear, where is that sister of yours? She straighten her life out yet? Kimberly coming on her own?"
"No, Ma'am, I'm afraid she ain't gonna make it, you know the whole being in jail thing it kind of puts a cramp on a person's freedom. Thank you so much for coming over though, I sure don't want to keep you."
I don't give her a chance to answer quickly, sliding back into the booth turning to Olivia. Just as our waitress comes over. "good afternoon- honey pies, what can I get you ladies?" after we order, I lean back as Olivia starts to laugh, unable to hold in her amusement over Ms. Rose any longer. "So that's how news travels down south Captain." eagle eyeing Betsy across the room, I can already see she's on her cell phone. "Well, the whole damn town will know I am back soon enough." "that has to be frustrating, Amanda." "Oh, Liv, you ain't got a clue. Every day dealing with women like, is there any doubt about why I got out of here faster than a bat out of hell."
I stay silent about the other reason I left Georgia as soon as I was old enough my sexuality there's no room for differences here in the good old south. No way could I tell Olivia this though she has no idea I am a lesbian. "So, is your Mom coming?" "Lord, no Liv she's up in NY taking care of Mason, Mama said she was sorry the son of a bitch died, but she dumped his ass years ago, let his new hussy handle the affairs."
"My dear new sister, who I haven't even met yet. She's handling everything as per my dad's living will."
"Amanda, I am so sorry." "Don't be Olivia, I am fine." "Of course you are." I don't reply not because I don't have the response in me but because the doors burst open and a vast mass of people come pouring into the already packed diner.
"Amanda! It is true! You are back!" Tommy Jake Edwards "TJ" calls out "Yo Ms. Betsy Jane was right boys. Good Ol Rollins is back in town." there are rumblings from the entire group of men "Liv meet the former jocks of Loganville High School Pyro Red Devils who ruled LHS's halls from 1996-1999."
"Rollins, how can you sneak back into town and say nothing? Yo, Rollins, that is rude! I thought we were your boys!"
"Bump that T-rolls, I am pissed forget these clowns, I am your cousin! Uncle Jimmy is my kin-folk too. Where's my love?"
"Hey, Jensen, I just got back into town like literally ten minutes ago. I'm sorry it's been crazy these last few days. My head is still spinning. I haven't told anyone yet, sorry, truly."
Jensen's arms wrap around me tightly. "No worries, cuz. I got you. I am sorry I know you and your Pa wasn't close but damn it still sucks." "Thanks, Jensen, yeah, it does."
Coming out of his hug, I'm met by his brother Blake who I hug as tightly. "Yo boys will catch you later going to hang with family." the rest of the crew waves blowing me kisses as Liv, and I make room for these two. "Hi. I'm Olivia Benson, Amanda's boss, and friend."
"Oh honey-child we know who you are, we've heard all about you now haven't we Blake?" "Oh, yes, Yes, we have well let us introduce ourselves since Miss. Amanda has the manners of a pig. I am Blake Yankee; Jensen is my twin brother; our Mama is Amanda's dad sister."
"Were you three close growing up?" "Oh, tighter than chili papers, Mama, us, and our uncle TC's kids, our cousins Alonso and Scottie, are coming in tomorrow." "They called us the Rollin- Yankee-Terrors." Sipping my sweet tea, I groan, remembering all the names the seven of us use to get growing up. "don't tell her that she is my boss."
"Oh relax Junebug, it ain't like I told her about the time you put laxatives in Ernie Reynaldo's cornbread when you were ten and locked him in the outhouse for the whole day and told our teacher he ran away to the circus."
Olivia laughs so loudly. I feel my temperature rise in my face. "You what?" my face buries into the palms of my hands. "Yo, boy, that was nothing. Remember when we were twelve, and Kyle Kane told Manda she was uglier than a burnt barn, she took his pants and underwear while he was changing and threw it into the river."
Both boys bang on the table laughing, shoving each other as Olivia arched an eyebrow in my direction "Oh, yeah I do, she let the anger seethe inside all week till Saturday when the whole town was gathered for the annual fishing competition. When Kyle's dad was with the reporter for Atlanta news, Kyle comes walking bare-ass naked; the entire town saw him walking his little dude swinging in the breeze. Kyle was grounded for months. "
My embarrassment only increases as I lay my head down, groaning while all three laugh. "Oh, God, even as a kid, Amanda, you were a rule-breaker and a little shit-head." I feel Olivia's hand stroke mine laughing as she hangs her head down tears running down her face, which a lovely rose color.
I only pick my head up when the food arrives, feeling my whole body shiver and jolt as I lean back, smelling the greasy food. Reaching for the ketchup, I pop a fry in my mouth. I still can't shake this feeling of being drained or the tightness in my head.
"Oh My." another voice pops into my world as I see Mr. Jason Axson and Mrs. Janet Axson coming in with their two kids Christopher 17, Savannah 14. her voice cuts through the air. "How are you, Sugar?' "I am just peachy; thank you, just enjoying dinner with my family, here."
"Oh, of course, we don't mean to interrupt. You could use the food; obliviously, you are mighty thin sugar. Your daddy was right; they are working your tail to its bone up there in that big city unless you are sick again, darling."
"No Ma'am, I am right as a peach as I said, but I am trying to enjoy my dinner." "Yeah, Janet let these nice folks eat; worry about our own family; I do apologize, Miss. Amanda lovely to see you again, we shall pop in at another time."
Olivia's eyes stare right into mine. I know she's wondering about the "Are you sick again" line my face flushes as I look down, avoiding her eyes and the question. Another part of my past she has no idea about, My stomach rolls as I think about all the secrets and pressures I have on top of me, none of which Olivia needs to add to her plate.
"I need to use the bathroom, I'll be back, excuse me." getting up I start to head there, of course, a two-minute walk becomes ten as I am stopped by multiple people offering their condolences. My back hits the wall just as another wave of dizziness hits me; I do everything inside of me not to show it to anyone, I can see Olivia's eyes on me from across the room. Yet it isn't Olivia who catches my attention, rare I know.
This time, Savannah's voice so young, scared, and nervous. I am standing right next to their table as I hear Savannah say. "Mama, Daddy, I have something to tell you." Savannah's beautiful emerald eyes glisten as she stares at her parents. "I am a Lesbian, and I plan to come out this weekend at the prom."
Savannah's courage freezes me. I am forty and don't have the courage she has at fourteen-years-old. I can't think fast enough to react before her mom is out of her chair, smacking Savannah across her face. "You are not gay! Stop your lying, you fifthly whore! Who put these lies in your head? You are a good girl, a good baptist girl. Take it back!"
"No Mama, I can't I won't because I am gay, and yes I am a good girl, I am a baptist and MVP for the last two years in all the southern regions. I will play at college, and I will go pro, and my sexuality won't stop me from doing any of that."
"Fool, of course, it will, but you won't have to because you are not gay!"
"Mama, I am please just listen to me. Stop being such a bitch."
Her dad jumps up, grabbing at Savannah as I react, finally racing towards Savannah as Jason starts yelling. "Don't talk to your mother that way! Ever! No daughter of mine will be a sinner! I could deal with you being pregnant, not this! This is unforgivable. You either get over this phrase you little slut or you are OUT OF THIS FAMILY! Let's go now, Christopher, Janet leave her."
I hurry towards Savannah, who is trying with her whole body to remain strong as her family walks out. I know her face is stinging from the assault, but it's nothing like the pain in her soul. The rest of the restaurant sits there, not offering to help just turning to their families. My hands connect to Savannah's as I help her sit down "Sweetie, I am so sorry that your parents reacted to you."
"It's okay, ma'am, I excepted this. It was so so stupid-crazy to even except for any different outcome."
"No honey, it isn't it's not crazy or stupid to except unconditional love from your family; that's what parents are supposed to do. Of course, you wanted to tell them living in secrets, hiding who you are, it's exhausting. The if only or what-ifs or the I should have's, they take their tolls."
"It's 2020, not 1990 times have changed; maybe the south should catch up." My hands rub Savannah's back softly. "I'm from here honey, so I get it baby-girl I know how scary accepting your sexuality is, I know how painful it is to hold this all inside, to feel as if you ain't normal simply because you don't feel fireworks when the popular jocks kiss you."
"I knew that when I was thirteen, I felt it already I was great to hang out with boys all day when it came to playing ball, or telling dirty jokes or pulling pranks, but when it came to who I was attracted to sexually or emotionally, guys they just didn't do it for me. I could feel myself gravitating toward girls in ways that I didn't with boys."
"Don't let your sexual identity label you or define you—whether it be as lesbian, bisexual, asexual, or another term—how you choose to label yourself is not based on a checklist. You can still be everything you just told your parents; you can play any instrument you want to learn, you can be the best damn softball player this world's ever seen."
"Savannah, I started figuring it out at thirteen, but I didn't let myself act physically until I was 16, I kissed a girl at a party for the first time, and it was magical. Everything flowed so naturally, my body just knew what to do. I reacted to her in a way that felt right—the way I had always envisioned the first kiss to be. I tried saying I was bisexual for a quick minute and even had sex with several guys to prove that I wasn't an abomination the way the church, my family, and everyone else in this town always said gay people are. Still, I could feel myself gravitating toward girls in ways that I didn't with boys."
"Did your family accept you?"
"I don't know I never told anyone I was too scared. It was a different time back then before it got better or internet support. There were no Gay pride parades even now at forty living in NYC, a place filled with cultural and sexuality differences. I am still living in that small-town mindset. I can't tell anyone. I can't even tell the woman who I am madly in love with who I know is so accepting of people. Because I am still afraid that even with an open mind as beautiful as Olivia's, I am afraid she'll reject me."
"Savannah, I know this feels like the end of the world right now, it's not I am right by your side. I will support you; you can stay with me. Will get through this together."
"Thank you, Miss. Amanda. Thank you so much. I think you should tell this Olivia lady how you feel. Even with my parent's rejection, I feel such a weight off my chest; I feel as if I can finally breathe."
"Amanda, maybe you should listen to Savannah, she seems like a brave young lady, and I love women who are strong in body, mind, and spirit. You have a very sexy strong body, and I know your mind is sharp, so if you get some balls Amanda and tell me how you feel face to face, I think we might be able to make a beautiful connection, of our minds, souls and our bodies." Olivia's voice completely freezes every sense, emotion and body function inside of me. I can't speak, think, move or even breathe.
Did she just hear me confess my deepest feelings for her?

A Man On Fire - Chapter 68
All night he hadn't left her side, which was fun at one point, because he was a real party animal, but on the other hand the conversation with Jared hadn't left her head for one second, they both knew it wasn't the time nor the place to discuss matters further. What time was it? 3AM and where was Jared? She hadn't seen him around for a while, probably already scoring new pussy, ugh no don't go there. “Another drink?” Nathan put his hands on her hips, something he had been doing all night, trying to get as close to her as possible, “oh no, I'm full up..have you seen Jared?” she looked around the room, “nope, then again he's already an older man, he can't keep up any longer” Nathan grinned at her, squeezing her flesh more tightly, just surrender and give yourself to me, woman! You know you want to. Harper pulled his hands away “don't say that, he's not old, trust me, I'm speaking from experience here” and turned to go, “wait, where are you going?” he tried to stop her “I'm going to look for him”. Charles..where was he? Oh there “Charles, have you seen Jared?” she gave him a quizzical frown, “He's gone..he left about an hour or so ago” Charles didn't seem too amused, “oh, I see..” she felt a bit scrutinized when he just stared at her with an empty look in his eyes. Gone where? His hotel of course, she ran to the cloackroom to get her coat and immediately headed for the exit, stilettos in the snow shuffled to the curb to hail a cab, he wanted to talk? Well she was ready and he'd better still be up. Half an our later she got out of the cab and ran inside the hotel, up to his room, she knocked and knocked but there was no answer, what the? She held her ear to the door, what did she expect to hear, loud snoring? He didn't snore and it was the middle of the night after all, or some heavy fucking noises? blegghhh no!!. Disappointed she walked to the elevator again and let it take her down with a heavy heart, maybe check reception “excuse me, has the resident in room 524 come back yet? I'm his..light designer” she couldn't think of anything else to not be told to take a hike “and I can't reach him on his mobile either”. To her surprise the guy quickly glanced at his computer “He checked out about an hour ago” what? He'd left? Left NY? What else could he have done? Airport..maybe he was still at the airport, the first flight left when? The only thing she could do was go out and check.
Two hours later she put the key in to open the door of her apartment, deep inside she had hoped she would find him here so her heart dropped when she found her apartment cold and empty. With a deep sigh she put on the heating and walked up to the huge window to see the sun come up above New York, how can it be that you hurt me so much and now that you actually decided for yourself to leave I miss you so much?

Hey Jay,
So you decided to leave NY, huh? And I can hope that it wasn't because of me all I want but when someone leaves like a thief in the night, I just cannot help thinking it actually is because of me.
I will respect your need for distance/privacy/silence (pick a reason), I always did and always will, but I just wanted to tell how much I enjoyed your company the last couple of days.
I wanted to thank you for the party and more specifically for the Dior bag, you really went over the top there and I don't feel comfortable even accepting it..if you want I can have it fed-exed back to you, hope you kept the receipt.
Anyway, it's really ridiculous but I guess I just needed to have that talk with you after all..too little too late right?
Hope you're safe wherever you are without a snowflake in sight.
Coco
Jared had just landed in sunny LA, the contrast just couldn't be any bigger with where he came from, and he welcomed the clear blue skies, maybe they would be able to clear the clouds from his head. The arrival of her mail vibrated him back to life, his hands shaking when he read it, oh god..of course it's because of you that I left.

Harper,
Of course I left because of you, let's be honest here, I came because of Charles's Christmas party but I stayed because of you, and not the snow, I could be snowed in anywhere on this planet, as long as I'm with you, it's all good.
I never keep receipts, because a gift should never be returned, do with the handbag what you will, I bought it for you, end of story. Oh and btw is it ever too late? In our case that's debatable, because from what you said last night, you will never be able to forgive me, should you? I don't know about that either.
If anything was clear, it's the fact that you're moving on, and can I blame you? No! Can I blame myself for it? Yes! So, you do what you feel you have to do, I just hope it will give you clarity and closure..on us/on the things that I did (pick a reason as well).
Anyway, how's your wrist? Didn't hurt it too much at dancing? And how's Nathan? You two looked really chummy, is he a better lover than I am?
Jared
Fuck why did I write that last part? Why the hell not? She wants me to be open and honest, well I guess I am. I'm moving on too, it is what it is? Love is so ridiculously overrated, it's just lust with her, like it is with everyone else? Right? Yep! Convincing himself of that was harder than it seemed, because the words of her mail kept bouncing through his head all day long.
She needed to rest up a bit before she started painting, and she so didn't look forward to meeting Charles, that disappointed look in his eyes last night was haunting her, but her head hadn't touched her pillow yet when his reply beeped its' arrival. His words stung, oh he was upset and angry all right, sarcasm was his weapon and he wielded it like a champion.

Subject: Re: re: First so close, now so far removed?
Jared,
You're not playing fair, I told you how you nearly broke me when you did what you did, am I not allowed to move on? Do you want me to keep suffering? Does that amuse you while you just get on with your life? Not that it's any of your business but Nathan is a friend so far, not a lover, we haven't even kissed yet, he's a distraction right now, but I guess you know all about those, don't you?
Bye Jared, I don't think there's any point discussing this any further, maybe it's best if we made a clean break and stayed out of each other's lives.
Harper
Oh yeah, that's really convenient isn't it? Walk away from the real trouble, that is so like you, but not this time Harper, oh no, you won't get rid of me that easily, I'll keep you on your toes, that's for sure. I'll keep you on your toes, don't you worry, even long distance, but you're mine and that's how I intend to keep it.
From: BJLCubbins
To: HCDeRobiano
Subject: Re: re: re: First so close, now so far removed?
Harper,
Let's go back to your original mail, you said you needed to have that talk after all, and now you're saying there's no point discussing it? Stop being so fickle, either you do or you don't and I think I know you enough to say that you do want to keep talking? I'm definitely up for it, I already was the last couple of days. I'm gonna be honest here, I can never have a clean break with you, I let you come too close for that and I think I can say the same for you, you and I both know that Nathan isn't gonna cut the cake, he's just some distraction, if it was only to get revenge then you would've let him get inside your panties already.
So, we'll leave it for now, I hate arguing by mail and if you're ready to talk on a more adult level, I'm right here, ok?
Jared
Fuck you, Jared, you stupid, arrogant fucker, fuck you! She growled as she jumped out of bed again, painting on adrenalin is never a bad idea, just get it out of your system and forget that stupid jerk. Ok so maybe he underestimated her, somehow he thought she was gonna write back but nothing more from her all day, he'd definitely pissed her off, another night full of doubt and wondering what she was doing, no way, ok call her..no answer, for fucks sakes Harper I'm not gonna do this with you again. Why do you have your heart set on ripping mine to pieces? I'm not asking you to forget I'm just asking to forgive, we were, no are, so good together so let's move on, it's that simple, forget about that irrelevant little fucker who's bending over backwards to get you in his bed, he isn't worth your time, the real deal is right here in LA.

Self Para ( Open House 2.0 )
To say Ches was at her limit with Chad currently was an understatement, if she didn’t ditch him and stay away from him soon, she was going to lose it. After his little fit during the activity, and everything else that had gone on today, if she didn’t go someplace nobody could mention Callie and Chad were looking for her or ‘oh it’s your turn to watch him,’ at this point all her attempts to not hurt him like she was tempted to would be in vain. As she walked through the halls with him and tried her best to tune him out, she was brainstorming less violent ways to deal with him. As much as she wanted to knock him out, tie him up, and run away - Dom had a point. As much as she hated to admit it, Chad was a child. A child that reminded her oh too much of her brother, but a child nonetheless.
Then she notices the cart next to the janitor closet. The man is nowhere in sight as she notices the glint of metal keys resting on the cart as they approach, an idea actually clicks. Maybe she couldn’t tie him up and run away, but she could lock him up and flee the scene. Sure, she’d still get into trouble, but at least she wouldn’t get a lawsuit on top of whatever Luxor would give her. “And you got a touchdown?” She questions, pretending she’s actually interested in the story he’s telling as she sneaks the keys off the cart. “That’s so cool, actually kinda hot.” She winks at him, even as the thought of Chad being considered hot by anyone makes her want to vomit all over his shiny black shoes. “So hot, in fact, I have a challenge for you, babe. If you win, I’ll let you kiss me.”
That gets Chad’s attention, much to her annoyance. “Why do we even have to do the challenge? I’m the best, you know I’m going to win.” He boasts. The smile Ches gives him is sickly sweet as she tries to hide all the disgust in her tone.
“Sure, but girls like a chase, and when a girl is happy, they give better kisses. I’m sure you’ll fly right through it, but appearances, appearances.”
“What’s the challenge?” There’s a glint in his eyes that feels oh so familiar, between living with Jamie for years and seeing her own reflection in the mirror. A tiger stalking their prey, but this time, Chad wasn’t a cat. He was the mouse. “We’re going to play hide and seek.” She explains as she starts to move the cart a bit more out of the way. “You go into here to count, starting only after I shut the door, and after you count to 60 you use everything you’ve learned on today’s tour to come and find me. If you find me before the hour is up, you get a kiss. If you don’t, well, does it matter what happens if you don’t? We both know you will!” She tells him as she unlocks the door.
“That’s all? I’ll find you in no time!” Chad grins as he walks into the room, “now run along - the sooner you leave, the sooner I get my kiss!” He doesn’t need to tell her twice, because she shuts the door once she can hear him start to count, she’s locking the door behind her and darting off. She waits till she’s near the exit to ditch the keys, tossing them in the trash before she starts heading in the direction of the student parking lot.
Maybe she’d go grab herself a pizza, possibly drop by the mall for a little and pick up some more perfume if she had the time. Until the administration noticed her missing, she was going to take all the self-care time she could sneak herself. After dealing with Chad, she’d earned it.
----------------------------------------
She was about finished with eating what she could of the pizza she ordered when her phone starts to ring. “Ches’s Pizza Delivery Service, may I take your order?” She answers with a laugh, expecting it to be her Logan yelling at her about the school calling again or her roommate asking her where the fuck she was when she hears who’s actually on the other end of the line.
“Ches, quick question, why am I one of your emergency contacts?” Zander seems surprised, honestly, for a moment Ches actually has to pause to think about her emergency contact form. Logan was her primary - listed under her father, her father’s office was filled in the mother slot in case they ‘couldn’t reach him on his cell phone, always call that first’, and Emmett was her first option if nobody could reach a parent. Between the three of them, she never thought there’d actually be a chance nobody would answer the phone. She’d just used it as a throwaway slot, honestly, after all, it wasn’t like she had anyone else who’d care if you called them for an emergency once you went through the first three contacts anyway. What could her grandparents do from Paris? They were about 6 hours ahead of NY, late enough in the day you wouldn’t be able to get ahold of them without waking them up.
“I figured you wouldn’t mind because you’re already Balo’s and I never thought someone would need to call the last person on the list? Now, you didn’t answer my question about pizza. If it factors in any way, the delivery driver is really cute. I’d order one just to see her. ”
“No, I don’t want a pizza. I do want to know why I got dragged into the office asking if I knew where you went apparently since we’re so close I’m your emergency contact you must have told me all about your plans of locking your kid in the janitors closet, which by the way, you taking the keys with you made getting him out a bit harder than it had to be.” He got dragged into the office to ask about her whereabouts? Well, that wasn’t a part of the plan. “You should have told me you added me to your updated list, Ches. It would have been a good thing to mention, especially since the only thing I could tell someone about your medical history is ‘deathly allergic to tuna.’”
“Fine, I’ll bring you back some knots though just because I love you!” She gets up to walk over to the counter, moving her phone off her ear when she reaches it. “Can I order a dozen garlic knots too? To go, this time, please!” She’s already pulling out her card to pay when she hears Zander groan on the other line.
“For fuck's sake, Ches. Do you even realize how much trouble you’re in right now? You locked a kid in the fucking closet.”
“Oh, I knew that before I even did it but I figured hurting him would be worse, so I left before I got to that point. Plus, it’s not like I actually took the keys off-campus. I tossed them in the bin near the exit closest to the student parking lot, it seemed like a good place to ditch them.”
“You threw out the janitor’s keys? Hailey, I swear to god-” She can hear him moving on the other end of the line, the frustration clear in his voice as he calls her by her first name. Before she can even point out how rude that was, he’s speaking again. “I can’t believe you dragged me into this. Now I've gotta go fish keys out of the trash.”
“You don’t have to do anything.” She reminds him as she sits down at the table to wait for the garlic knots, starting to close the pizza box with one hand as she talks. “Just because you know where they are doesn’t mean you have to bring them back for me.”
“Oh, I’m not bringing them back for you. I’m meeting you in the student parking lot and you’re returning them yourself. What kind of pizza did you get?”
“Hawaiian, why?” After all, he just said he didn’t want pizza, so surely it didn’t matter what kind of pizza she had run off to go eat.
“Because I didn’t expect I was going to have to dumpster drive to ensure you only get detention, I’ve changed my mind. Knowing you, you have leftovers and I want a few slices to go with my knots, finish up and meet me in the parking lot. And no, finishing up doesn’t include a mall trip so don’t even try it.” He knew her too well, that was apparent as a smile cracks on his lips.
“You know, you’re actually kinda sexy when you’re laying down the law, Zan. You should do it more often.” She teases him, wagging her eyebrows as if he could actually see her messing with him at the moment. “Are you sure you don’t want me to try to hook you up with one of my friends? I bet-”
“Goodbye, Ches. I’ll see you when you get back.” He sounds amused at least before the call ends with a click. She sighs, looking at the time. At least she’d gotten about an hour without Chad before she got a phone call asking where she had run off to. There was no way of twisting what she said in a way she’d have to kiss Chad.
That was a relief.
----------------------------------------
Zander indeed was waiting for Ches when she pulled back into the parking lot and parked her car. “Well, hello Mr. Driskell, fancy running into you.” She jokes as she gets out of the car, “food’s in the passenger seat. You’ve got the goods?” She holds her hand out for the janitor closet’s key, curling her fingers around them as he drops them into her hand.
“You’re lucky I need you for Shakespearean Studies’ group projects, Ches. I can’t believe I had to dig through the trash for keys.”
“I’m lucky you like garlic knots, you mean.” She jokes, handing him her car keys. “Make sure she’s locked when you’re done, I’ll find you to get them back later. I’m off to return these.” She dangles the janitor’s keys, letting the clinking fill the air. “Thanks for saving my ass, I owe you one, Zan.” She doesn’t wait for a response before she darts off. Maybe she was in trouble, but she had to admit, if she didn’t return the keys she’d probably be in even deeper shit then she was to start off with. She doesn’t stop to talk to anyone, just heads straight to the office. “I came to drop these off and receive the verdict for my punishment.” She tells the secretary, before the person at the desk can even call into the office, however, she hears an oh too familiar voice.
“Miss Elswood, I assume Mr. Driskell was able to get a hold of you. Come into my office.”
She takes a deep breath before she turns to follow them into the office to hear what her punishment would be.
----------------------------------------
Icarus (Zan 🙈): So how long are you in the slammer for, Chessie? Ches: Week in detention, and I’m probably gonna have people watching me for the rest of the day to make sure I’m not locking Chad in any more closets or something worse. I think I”m gonna just be good, quiet, and peacefully serve my time, pretty sure I got off lucky after the key thing. LOL
And with that, she puts her phone back into her bag, takes a deep breath, and goes back into the fray.

“you could stand me up at the gates of hell, but i won’t back down.”
What accent do you find most difficult to understand? Heavy southern. Has your music taste changed over the years? Not very. I do like more indie stuff now than I used to, though. What movie never fails to make you cry? The Notebook. What movies do you think need a sequel? Hm... I'm sure there's plenty, but they're evading me for now. Let's see... yeah idk. Do you have to see it to believe it? I mean it depends; see what exactly? But in general, yeah. I believe in spirits, maybe even auras, stuff like that. What was the last thing you bought for yourself? Food. Do you like 3D movies? Yeah, they're cool. Have you ever had breakfast in bed? Not the "my partner brought me food and it's romantic" type of way; I've just eaten breakfast food in bed. Have you ever practiced kissing on a stuffed animal? No, that's always been. p wild to me. Do you still talk to your childhood friends? A few. True/False: You live with your parents. Just one. At the dinner table do you always sit in the same chair? We rarely eat at the table, but generally, yes. Is your signature legible? I think so. Have you met any bands/singers? No. Have you ever witnessed a miracle? No. Do you know someone that looks better as they age? *shrugs* Do you know the order of the colors of the rainbow? Yes. Do you sometimes wish you were the opposite gender? No. Have you ever kissed a picture? of who? I don’t think so. Did/do you distract your teachers to get them to tell you stories? I didn't really speak in class unless I was pretty sure I had the answer to a question or had a serious question myself. Who makes you feel like you’re worth something? My mom, more than anyone. Do you remember a lot of your childhood? Yeah. I have a crazy vivid long-term memory. How many pets is too many? Depends on available space as well as what you can afford to care for sufficiently. Do you stare at dead people in a movie to see if you can catch them moving? lol no. Does your hand fit inside a Pringles container? Probably. I can curl my thumb really inward to make space. Do you know who your maid of honor/best man will be? Sara, unless I end up marrying her lmao. In that case, it'd be Mom. If you had the opportunity to be famous, would you take it? I don't like the term "famous" for me personally, but rather "well-known" for a photographer. What is your favorite healthy snack? Strawberries, I guess? What is the best song by your favorite artist/band? I HAVE TO???????? PICK???????????? Oh jeez. At least right now, "Time" is one that I hold incredibly close to my heart and usually brings me to tears because it reminds me of Teddy. It's just a beautiful song. How much do you spend a month on make-up? Nothing. Do you have any of your future children’s names picked out? I don't like how they stare, I don't like how rude they can be, I hate how demanding they are of attention (YES, I am aware that is healthy behavior for the baby of a social species, I just can't provide it), they ask too many questions... I have a lot of reasons I don't like them. Is there a big age difference between you and the person you like? No. What is the most amusing thing on the internet, in your opinion? YouTube, I guess? The way he looks at you
https://archiveofourown.org/works/14863772
It was nearing midnight and he was at a shitty 24h supermarket in the middle of NY waiting in line to buy some shitty beer to take back to the apartment. And if the kid that was before him could decide soon what kind of candy bar he would take his girlfriend, well, that would've been great.
The cashier looked almost as bored and done as he himself felt and Chandler could only begin to imagine what must have been like to work in that place at those hours. After what felt like hours he got to pay for the beer and an impulsively chosen chocolate bar, and went outside into the cold mid February air.
The store was more block aways from the apartment than Chandler would have liked, but hey, when your roommate is apparently so good at sex that he is making the girl of the week cry out his name over and over while you are trying to sleep and can hear everything because of the paper thin walls, well, there’s only so many things you can do.
So there he was, walking back home, hoping they were finally over with their porn sounding sex so he could just go to sleep and pretend the next morning that he was not hopelessly gay and disgustingly in love with said roommate.
The streets were obviously empty, freshly fallen snow laying over everything and he tried to avoid slipping and falling.
It took about ten minutes before he was climbing the stairs and opening the door to a, oh thank god, silent apartment. He was just setting the beers into the almost empty fridge, thanks Joe, when said guy walked out of the bathroom. Shirtless. With sex rumpled hair. Yawning like a newborn kitten. And Chandler was so gone and so fucked up.
“Hey man! I thought you were asleep!” The good mood was evident in Joey’s voice despite the sleepiness.
“Oh yeah, like I could’ve gotten any sleep while I kept hearing everything through this damn walls”
Joey’s eyes went wide and second latter where filled with guilt.
“Oh man, I’m so sorry, didn't mean to wake you up!” He paused for a second before his eyes were filled with pride “But I have to say that to make a woman scream like that you have to be a natural my friend”
And just like that Chandler was done with the situation.
“Yeah, okay Joe, congrats, I’m just gonna go to bed now”
And it seemed like Joey was about to say something, something flickering on his eyes that Chandler couldn't quite put his finger on, but let it go, a small smile grazing his lips.
“Yeah, okay, good night man”
So he just stepped into his bedroom, pulled off the hoodie he had thrown over his pajamas before going out and fell face first groaning into the unmade bed.
He could've woken up to the usual singing man that lived across the window in the other building, but instead it was the sweet laughter of a girl in the other room that ripped Chandler out of his dreamland.
He grumpily pulled the sheets away, the chilly air making him shiver slightly before he padded to the door, opening it slowly, in hopes that the couple outside wouldn't notice him.
Of course that plan quickly failed when Joey spotted him and his face broke into a huge smile. Chandler felt his heart miss a beat and tried to smile back, knowing fully well he hadn't achieved it. He knew, though, that as it was a Saturday, Joey had no auditions, which meant today he wasn't making pancakes and sending the girl on her way. And nothing could cheer him up more than that, cause that way he didn't have to deal with jealousy and pity for the woman.
Once he was out of the bathroom, he quickly made his way to the door, not bothering with saying hi. Joey though, was not amused by this and grabbed his arm before he could even open said door.
“Hey Chandler, good morning, nice to see you, slept well?” Sarcasm dripping from his voice. He dropped quickly enough though, something like hope stirring in his eyes “You’re not staying? I wanted you to meet Laura, she’s new to town and I was hoping we could all go to have coffee with her so I could introduce her to everyone”
And wait, what?! What on earth was going on? Joey did not introduced girls to the group and he most certainly never looked this eager for everyone to meet someone.
It must have shown in his face, since Joey was immediately pulling him along to his bedroom so they could talk.
Chandler didn't even had to say anything, his expression communicating everything he needed.
“Look Chandler, I know it’s weird since I never do this, but I really really like her. She’s funny, she’s smart but not too much and she has a great body” and of course that came with a goofy smile and some obscene hand gestures. As he got no reaction from his friend, that was still gaping at him by the way, he sighed “Dude, come on, it would mean so mucho to me if you could just approved this, you know your opinion means a lot to me”
And maybe it was that or the doe eyes that got Chandler out of his trance. He wished his features to stay neutral, knowing well enough that he was usually way too expressive.
“Yeah, okay, I’m sorry, I was just really shocked. Cause it’s shocking Joe, I never expected this from you… But sure, you have my blessing, I would never get in the way of you happiness man” And just as he began panicking that he had said too much, that Joey was so gonna be able to figure it out, since he was not nearly as stupid as people thought, his friend gave him a beaming smile and jumped forward to hug him.
So Chandler just melted into the arms of his best friend, forced down the jealousy bubbling in his throat and wished his feeling aways, not for the first time.
Afterwards, he excused himself saying he was starving and only Monica’s food would be able to tame the hunger inside of him and escaped the apartment before he did something stupid. And he felt the need to hide in some dark, far far away corner of the world and cry his heart out cause he just knew he would never get a chance with the man at the other side of the door, well, no one needed to know.
And as he was just so bad at hiding his emotions that as soon as he stepped into Monica’s and the two girls living there took one look at him, they were immediately fussing over him.
“Oh my god, Chandler, you look as if someone had killed a puppy in front of you” And that was just great, cause now he was picturing that and it did nothing to help his mood.
“Come on honey, we have some nice breakfast that will cheer you up, right Mon?”
Said girl was in a blink of an eye rushing to prepare the tastiest and most mouth watering breakfast that could exist in the gang’s opinion, but the blue eyed man was so under the weather that he just slumped down into a chair and willed he could just sunk into hell.
And yeah, he was being dramatic, but it was just like him to blow things out of proportion and sulk about it.
He was soon playing with delicious food, not really being sure if he could actually stomach it.
And the more he played, the more restless Monica and Rachel seemed.
“Chandler? Honey? Can you just please tell us what happened? We’re dying here” And he could clearly recognize the desperation in Monica’s voice. But he was just unable to voice out his feeling, his most well kept secret. Or at least that was what he wanted to think.
He slumped into himself even more.
“Is it about your feeling for Joey?” And the question was just so innocent, Rachel not even realizing the weight of her words.
But Chandler just froze.
He could barely catch Monica and Rachel arguing in harsh whispers, but he was too caught up in his panic to really hear was they were saying.
“Chandler? Chandler! Please, I’m sorry, I didn’t want to throw it on you like that, I’m just worried! Please say something” And now Rachel’s voice was full of despair too and he just felt horrible.
He willed his voice to work, clearing his throat about a hundred times before being able to actually form words that came out raspy and full of raw emotions anyways.
“You… You know? About my… preferences?” And he cringed internally at how formal that sounded but he couldn't found it in him to say the word just then.
The silence was oppressing even when it lasted just a few seconds for them to get over their surprise. Cause they thought Chandler would freak out about they knowing about his feeling for his best friend, not about the fact that they knew from day one about his sexual orientation.
“Oh my god honey, you were worried about that?” Rachel was the first one to find her voice.
“Chandler, we have known you for years, and sure, Ross and Joey obviously have no idea, but we’re girls, we know about this things, call it sixth sense or whatever” Monica smiled in that encouraging way of hers, while Rachel’s smile was sweet and supporting and suddenly Chandler didn't feel as alone and hopeless as he had mere second ago.
“Well in that case… I’m not even gonna ask how do you guys know about Joey, honestly. But yeah, it’s about him…” He sighted while fidgeting with the table cloth “He… he met this girl that is new to town and they hit it off and he’s apparently halfway in love with her and wants us all to meet her… I mean, he never does that! For all I know they will get married tomorrow as Emily and Ross did and I will be forced to be the best man cause I’m his best friend and can’t say no to those freaking puppy eyes of his and I will end up alone and with a broken gay heart…”
He didn’t even care that for the first time in his life he had openly recognized he was gay out loud. He was now picturing all of those things happening and the simple thought made him want to throw himself from the balcony.
He wasn't aware of the looks Monica and Rachel were sharing, having a whole conversation without saying words. The brunette was the first one to speak.
“Look, Chandler, I know it seems bad. But I assure you that Joey will not marry this girl, she won’t probably last more than a few weeks. None of us actually think Joey will get married with any girl at all. You know how he is. I know it might seem like a lot to endure, but you’ve made it this long, so have some faith in yourself…” She seemed doubtful about her next words, but one look to Rachel’s stern expression told her she should just tell their friend “And I know you might hate us for saying this and getting this idea into your head… but we really think you should tell Joey about how you feel”
Chandler’s head immediately went up, wide blue eyes staring at the two girls, and both of them were able to feel the scarred panicked feeling the man was suddenly surrounded by.
Rachel chose that moment to intervene before their friend went into full panicked mode, possibly close enough to a panic attack.
“Ok honey, listen to me. If you think for a second Joey will hate you, and feel repulsed and move out just because you are in love with him, you are so so wrong and he would probably feel insulted you think so lowly of him. He loves you Chan, doesn't matter how, but he would never let you hurt because of him, he’s way too good friend for that, and you are his best friend. How can you think he will react like that?” As she saw the panicked expression change into a doubtful one, she smiled softly, reaching for his hand and giving it a gentle squeeze “We just want you to consider it honey, it would make you feel so much better, independently from how it ends. We just want whats best for you”
And he believed her, but all Chandler could do was bury his head between his hands, willing his heart to believe what his friends had just said as well.
It was almost the sixth month after that dreadful morning and everything Chandler had predicted was becoming true.
Joey was dating Laura, that was as amazing as Joey had made it sound, which only helped Chandler sulk more and be even more unhappier. He still hadn’t said anything to Joey. Ross suspected there was something going on between his two male friends but was too oblivious to tell. Besides that, everyone acted as if nothing had changed.
Laura adapted real quick into their group, and even though the three girls were on Chandler’s side (Phoebe had expressed her support the same day the girls helped him by a “I knew it!” and a “I love you no matter what” followed by a hug) they all loved the red headed addition. Even Chandler himself, since the girl had amazing comebacks that dripped sarcasm 24/7 and her sense of humor mixed with his all too well.
So it all sucked, cause he couldn't even hate the woman. But he kept on sulking and suffering between the four walls of his bedroom while on the outside he was, or tried to be, the same Chandler everyone knew. Everything was fine.
Except suddenly it wasn't cause Joey intercepted him one morning before he could escape the apartment and do something useless to stay as far away as possible of said man, which had been his strategy since the fourth month.
“Chandler! Wait! I really need to talk to you about something” Oh man, he had been just so so close. And he knew what he had coming, he could see it in Joey’s posture “Look man… since this whole Laura thing started you have been really distant… And I know you like her, so I just can’t understand this? Is it me?” And there they were again, the huge doe/puppy like eyes that Chandler and basically anyone who knew the guy couldn't say no to.
“What? No! Joey, come on, you are my best friend! Why on earth would I be avoiding you?” Chandler knew there it was, the tone, as Joey used to call it. When he didn't actually believe something, or was lying, his voice would get high pitched. So when he saw his best friend’s eyebrow twitch, he knew his lie was not believable.
“Dude, please, just tell me!”
And, honestly, Chandler’s heart broke a little when he noticed how truly hurt Joey was. He could see it in those chocolate colored eyes that he usually fantasied about.
“Just… Look Joe, I’m sorry, okay? I know I’ve been distant, but I just… I can’t… I’m not able to tell you just why yet, sorry man” He awkwardly fidgeted with his hands, rubbing them together in that nervous way of his, avoiding at all costs Joey’s eyes.
He realized the exact moment the man gave up, since he seemed to slump into himself, a heavy sight escaping his mouth.
“Okay, yeah, it’s… it’s fine. I get it. Just… if there’s something wrong with me… with us, you would tell me, right?”
Blue eyes immediately met brown, wide with surprise.
“What, of course! I… this is not about you Joe, I swear. We’re okay”
A wide smile spread across his best friend’s features, his eyes crinkling in the corners and filled with happiness. He went for a quick hug before letting go but keeping both of his hands in Chandler’s shoulders.
“Oh god, that’s just, thanks man, I was just so worried! You are my best friend, you know? I can’t loose you, what would I do?!”
“Honestly Joe? Neither of us has a clue”
He received a light punch in his left arm by answer.
Turns out, the conversation he had with Joey was just a bad bad bad idea.
Cause, suddenly, as a bonding moment, the guy just decided to drag Chandler along to buy Laura’s sixth month anniversary present. And since they were that grossly sweet kind of couple, it had to be just ‘perfect’.
So there he was, being dragged along trough one big commercial avenue by the love of his life that was looking for a present to give the woman he was dating. The perfect situation. He was feeling just peachy.
What he had apparently missed, was that ‘perfect’ for Joey meant ‘Chandler approved’, which also meant his opinion was heavily considered in the moment of buying any kind of product. And he was just so not in the mood to give Joey’s selections much thought.
“Hey Chan, which kind of necklace do you think Laura would like the most?” In his hands Joey held two silver necklaces that were basically the same to the blue eyed man.
“I don’t… Do you, honest to God, think in college I studied how to choose jewelry for a woman? Cause I don’t really remember taking that subject” And maybe he should have seen it coming, but apparently that was the exact moment Joey had had enough.
“Sorry, I’ll come back to this later” His tone was polite while putting both pieces of jewelry back over the crystal counter and taking to the salesman that had been trying to help for the last twenty minutes or so. He then turned to Chandler, a displeased expression in his face “You. We are going home. And you’re telling me what the hell is going on”
And so they did. The shops they had been looking at were not that far from the apartment, so it took about ten minutes of Joey dragging Chandler before Joey was closing the door and turning to look at the blue eyed men, who was just looking everywhere to avoid eye contact.
“Chandler. You have one more second to tell me what’s going on with you before I actually start loosing my mind over this” And even under the angry tone, there was hurt and worry and Chandler just wanted to go into his room and cry his eyes out cause, honestly, how could there be a person more perfect in his eyes than Joey.
This was hurting him. He was so selfish, scared of what it would mean to him if he confessed his true feelings, not realizing he was hurting Joey in the process. The one person he had tried to keep safe. And it torn him apart, knowing that this might have been the last few moments of their friendship. But Rachel’s words came back to him and he found himself releasing a deep sigh before he reached out to take Joey’s hand and gently move both of them to the couch.
“Okay, okay, you are right, I should have told you before. I’m sorry, I’m just scared that what I’m about to tell you will completely ruin our friendship and that thought alone terrifies me…” And he was rambling, he knew that, but he had to brace himself before he could actually say the words.
“You… Chandler you are worrying over nothing. Nothing you could say to me would ruin our friendship, you are way too important for me to just let something get in the way of us”
And that sounded so much like something a lover would say. But it was ridiculous to think like that. Joey only meant it in a friendly way. He wasn't going down that road though.
He took a deep breath, finding Joey’s eyes but unable to keep the eye contact.
“Okay, here we go…” He fixed his gaze in his lap “I love you Joe”
Seeing as Joey didn’t immediately react, he started explaining himself even before the guy asked him for one explanation.
“And I mean it as in I am in love with you. Have been for as long as we’ve known each other. Maybe a little less. I’m not really one to believe in love at first sight, you know?” He laughed awkwardly, his gaze still fixed on the hem of his t-shirt that he has fidgeting with “But yeah. And that’s why I’v been trying to stay away. You love Laura, and she’s so so cool, everything I could never be. And I just want you to be happy, doesn’t matter if it kills me to see you with her. I just want to keep the smile you carry around when you look at her in your face forever. I never wanted to get in the way. And I’m so so sorry about the present. I couldn’t bring myself to help you get her something when, even though I really like her, I get jealous every time I see you two together cause I jusmmmmmphh…”
His speech was cut shortly by lips on his, his head being held into place by a hand in the back of his neck, while other cupped his cheek. Warm, soft, plump lips were pressed against his own with a rough edge that soon turned into a gentle pressure when he stopped trying to keep talking. He kissed back by reflex, his eyes closing while his hand went up to grab the wrist of the hand cupping his face, the other being used for support so he wouldn't fall off the couch because of the surprise.
It was only when he actually caught up to what was going on that he ripped himself away, watching Joey with wide eyes while his hand went up to touch his lips.
“Wha… You kissed me! Why did you kiss me?!” He was, most definitely, freaking out. His breathing became erratic and suddenly he felt like he was drowning.
Joey’s eyes went wide and he immediately went to cup both cheeks of Chandler’s face.
“Okay, no. You are so not having a panic attack just after we shared our first kiss. Breath Chan, I know you can do it” He obeyed, following his friend’s own breathing pattern and soon enough he felt like himself again. Once Joey realized this, he gently rested his forehead against Chandler’s, his hands not leaving his face.
They stayed like that a few seconds before Chandler pulled back.
“What are you doing? You were supposed to reject me, not kiss me Joe”
Said man’s eyebrows went up, eyes wide.
“What?! Why would I ever do that?! I’ve been pining over you for as long as you have!”
To say Chandler was speechless was to run short.
“I… I know I’ve been with my fair share of people, but it was only in the hope I could avoid and push down the feelings I have for you. Dude, I’ve been in love with you since forever. And Laura knows, you know? She was the first one to get it, she’s been trying to get over her own ex since we met. We were both trying to help each other… guess there’s no use to it now” That was finished with a small hopeful smile, soft eyes staring up at Chandler’s.
He spluttered unhelpfully.
“You are not even gay!” And oh man, was that the perfect thing to say.
Joey threw his head back while laughing.
“God, I love you but you are unbelievable. I’m bisexual, but I honestly don’t get why it matters”
If Chandler’s heart hadn't been to caught up in the confession coming from Joey, he would have argued, but he didn't have the mind for it.
“You… you love me?” And if the surprise and hope was way too obvious on his voice, who was he to care? He had spent way too many years pining, waiting, dreaming about this.
There was that look in Joey’s face, when his head tilted to the side and his whole face scrunched up in confusion, looking way too much like a confused puppy.
“Dude, come on! Keep up! That’s usually what ‘being in love with someone’ means!”
A nervous laughter bubbled from Chandler’s throat and soon enough he was finally relaxing into his best friend’s arm, burying his face in the crook f said man’s neck.
He felt like flying. Couldn't believe this was even happening. Joey loved him. He loved him back! He had waited his whole life for someone to love him, for his feeling not be unrequited, for someone, anyone, ideally a person from the male population, to accept him for who he was. And here it was, the best human being he had the luck to be best friends with, the one he had craved every single night since they met, the one he thought was just perfect, telling him he loved him too.
“What are you thinking about? I can feel your head overthink this” Joey’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts and he leaned back, letting his gaze roam freely over the handsome features of the other’s face like he hadn't allowed himself before.
“No, I just… I’m so happy” And the smile he gave was genuine, all soft edges and warm feelings.
Joey smiled too, beaming at him, before he leaned forward and pressed his lips against Chandler’s in a chaste kiss, before he pulled back, as if testing the waters. The blue eyed man didn't let him go far though, puling him in again to press their lips together for a longer period of time. He parted his lips experimentally, and was greatly surprised when Joey only hummed happily and deepened the kiss. Hands roamed, Joey’s hands settling one in Chandler’s surprisedly lean waist, pulling him closer, the other in the back of his neck, guiding his head gently while the other’s hand ended up one in Joey’s chest, the other around his ribs.
Soon enough they were fully making out laying across the couch, Chandler ending up between Joey’s legs, most of his weight over the brown eyed man’s chest. After a while, when the kisses turned to sleepy presses of lips, trailing across jaws and necks, just basking the warmth of the embrace. They ended up napping there, Chandler’s head against Joey’s chest, both heartbeats steady and calm.
And if they woke up giddy and happy and couldn't help but tell the others right away, no one really judged them, although he saw the way the three girls shared a look and looked proud of him.
The group was sitting at their usual place in the coffee house, with the exception that now Chandler and Joey sat together in the armchair that was too small to hold both men comfortably so it usually ended with Chandler sitting in Joey’s lap, leaning against him or the armrest.
They were casually talking about some nonsense like dinosaurs or Phoebe’s last ridiculous massage client when Joey starter mindlessly nibbling at Chandler’s throat, apparently done with the conversation and having nothing else to do.
He only rested more heavily against the other’s chest, sighting softly, not being able to continue being part of the conversation.
It was only when everyone turned to look at him expectantly that he realized they had been talking to him.
“Sorry, what was that?” He tried to straighten himself, but Joey’s arm around his waist kept him from doing so.
“Oh man, you guys are honest to god, ridiculous. It has been three fucking months! When will you be able to keep your hands to each other!” Ross complained loudly, obviously done with the situation.
Someone behind the sofa snickered softly.
“Well, I think they’re cute”
Everyone turned to the voice, meeting red hair and blue piercing eyes. A shorter brunette with soft hazel eyes and caramel skin close behind.
“Laura! Annie! We thought you wouldn't be back for another week!” Monica was immediately on her feet hugging the woman, followed by Rachel that seemed to squeeze the living hell out of the redhead.
So, it had been like this; Joey had broken up with Laura and Chandler had never in his life met someone before that was as comprehensive and forgiving as that woman. Soon enough she met a girl and they both started going out and fall in love. She had stayed as part of the group, everyone too fond of her to let her go. And she introduced them to Annie, her girlfriend. Everything was perfect, they were no hard feelings between either Chandler and Laura and Joey and Laura. Two months later the two girls announced they were moving to the other side of the country, since Annie had been offered her dream job in LA. So they were in the process of moving and Rachel was just sad since Laura and her both worked in fashion and had found a good friend in the industry.
But over all, it was all good. They were finishing up some things with the moving company before going away for good in two weeks.
Chandler was surprised with how much he was gonna miss them. Both him and Joey made no effort to move and say hi, too comfortable in their warm embrace to move. Both girls eyed them knowingly but said nothing, moving on to order some scones and coffee.
Chandler turned around, smiled softly at Joey, that was looking up to him with an adoring gaze, as if he was responsible for hanging up the moon and all the stars.
A few months ago he had thought the fondest look Joey could give to someone was the one he gave to Laura, followed by the softest smiled.
He had been wrong.
He know knew the most adoring and fondest look Joey could give to someone was him. He was now used to find brown eyes staring at him lovingly while he was doing things as mundane as cooking or talking to someone. The ones he liked the most, though, were those when they were buried in blankets, sometimes after having sex, there when they where just laying together, that were accompanied by an ‘I love you’ and followed by a kiss.
So yeah, maybe Chandler had been jealous of the expression Joey had when he was with Laura, but now he knew that it had been nothing compared to how Joey looked at him now.
This was my first fanfic ever so I though I would post it here too just because

Could you write the summoner trying to have Zelgius to have fun by throwing Mochi (No NY Takumis were harmed) at him to have him retaliate?
it’s lunar new year where i’m at, so hell yeah!!! this is such a fun request here you go!!
also it’s really long because i have no self control - over 2k words babey
Zelgius, the Black Knight, the still general of Begnion, the man who held a mysterious aura around him constantly…
…did he ever lighten up, honestly?
You sighed heavily, for it had been months since he had been summoned here and yet Zelgius was incredibly stiff and unsure of his surroundings no matter how much you tried to welcome him into Askr - the general was too weary and too suspicious of people in here, especially with the likes of the Tellius soldiers around (Zelgius was especially wary of the Ikes that wandered around the castle, always looking at them with a glimpse of sorrow in his eyes). As the summoner, you felt like you were in charge of settling people down into Askr - you personally understood the feeling of unease and fear upon arriving in such a new place with new responsibilities and war to fight in. It was incredibly tough, and missing home was always a constant feeling tugging against your body lightly.
But with Zelgius, you couldn’t read what he was feeling. You knew that it wasn’t always your own responsibility to be shoving yourself in others’ personal affairs, but it was heartbreaking for you to see Zelgius sitting all alone in the mess hall, the forlorn look in eyes ever-present since the day he arrived in your summoning hall in such a pitiful state (he was so injured, so terribly injured and wounded like a small animal despite his physique), the cold way he conducts himself within the castle… you just wanted to make him feel welcome to Askr, where many come from different unique backgrounds and won’t discriminate him the way he was treated back in his home. Askr’s vast libraries gave you access to the many histories of the continents that existed outside of its own, and the books were discriminatory and criticized Zelgius’ actions heavily - and it made your heart sunk when Zelgius stumbled upon your summoning stone one day in such a pitiful state. From the day you summoned him, you were sure that he wasn’t the person those books told you he was - the pain he held in his eyes told you so on that day.
There was a massive effort for you to try and befriend him - you would sit next to him and converse with him little by little as if not to overwhelm him, but to show that you only wanted to befriend him. He was a shy man outside of his cold exterior, shown through his stumbling and quiet tone he held with you - and whenever he did have a problem, Zelgius would come to consult you for any opinions. Great progress was created between you two, but…
He never really smiled - even around you.
Hah, and you really thought he was starting to trust you, huh?
You shook away your thoughts. People don’t have to smile to show that they trust you! Zelgius is probably the closest to you out of all the other heroes, and…
But is he really enjoying his stay here? He still looks miserable as ever.
You sighed again. What can you do?
As you continued to fiddle with the pen and the map in front of you, your thoughts drifted to the events that happened and were happening. You remember trying to get Zelgius to give candy out to the children, but his glare had intimidated everyone so much they refused to go near him. For Christmas, it had been significantly more successful with him as Santa with a silly ‘ol beard slapped onto his face and the big Santa hat placed over his head - this time, children flocked to him like hordes. While you found it incredibly amusing as it was smooth sail, you immediately panicked when you found out Zelgius had passed out on the spot as more children clambered on him and poked him; you had to spend a lot of time apologizing to him afterward.
Now, New Years was just around the corner - chatters of the new year were heard often in the castle as you patrolled around, there were heroes running around with various decorations in preparation for it, the New Year heroes having forming a small clique amongst each other about the traditions and so on. The energy within the hallways was bustling nowadays - but your head was filled with worries over the war and Zelgius himself. Of course, it was the time to celebrate a nice tradition and forget about the war temporarily - but yet, you couldn’t help but feel that feeling of worry tugging against you against.
It was just like that feeling when you first arrived here. Gods, you were starting to feel the anxiety pull against you again with all of these responsibilities being thrown against you into such a sudden situation again, and-
Smack!
“Ow!”
You rubbed your cheek lightly, for that hit against your face was hard. You were slightly annoyed at the sudden projectile that was thrown directly at your face - turning around immediately to see the perpetrator, you saw Takumi there with his mochis as Fjorm and Azura tried to suppress their giggles.
Stomping to their side while continuing to rub your poor cheek, you asked: “Hey! What gives?” as they grinned and snickered, eventually evolving into full-blown laughs at your expense. Frowning, you asked again: “Why did you do that, Takumi?! That hurt!”
Hearing your annoyed tone, Takumi hushed his laughter down. “Oh, sorry - I probably threw that a bit too hard,” he apologized genuinely as he scratched his chin. But then he shook his head, and looked at you in the eyes. “You always seem so deep in thought, [Name]. Shouldn’t you… lighten up a bit?”
Lighten up a bit?
“Ah-?”
Were you the one who needed to lighten up a bit as well?
Azura laughed again at your stumped expression. “There you go again, [Name]. Always so lost in your own thoughts,” her laugh was like bells, “I understand the war is tough and it feels like we ever hardly get a break.” As the songstress ended her sentence, Fjorm walked up to you and took hold of your hand and held it between her two hands. “Why don’t you relax a little bit with us? You hardly to ever seem to catch a break… and throwing mochi is fun, isn’t it, Prince Takumi?”
The Hoshidan Prince let out a quiet “sheesh”, but smiled nonetheless. “It is nice to get out of my princely attitudes once in a while, yes,” There was a shyness in his face for he was embarrassed for not acting like the supposed Prince of Hoshido that he was - but it soon went away as quickly as it appeared. “But hey, since it’s my time off here, why not have fun? And you can throw this time, [Name] - since I obviously throw too hard.”
You let out a small bark of laugh, looking slightly nervous to be shirking your patrolling duties. “I mean, I…”
“Just for a while?” Fjorm urged, her smile infectious as you bit down your own grin that bubbled up on your lips.
And then a wicked idea came past your mind as flashes of a certain general suddenly appeared in your vision…
I’m in.”
It was a lot more fun than you expected it to be.
Snickering around the castle with the trio as you stayed hidden away from most heroes’ vision, you relished in their surprised reactions when a small treat was thrown at them (Gaius immediately took notice of you all, and joined in to snack and throw mochi at people as well) - it was funny to see them so bewildered and stunned to where it came from (and you imagined that was how you looked before you noticed Takumi was the culprit of it all, and thought fondly of it as well). As you continued to hunt around the castle for your next victims, your eyes shone brightly when you saw Zelgius wandering around the gardens by himself. “Guys, that’s him! I’ve been trying to find him for ages now!” You smiled at your friends, as they returned your smile with their own grins. “What’s the plan, Summoner?” Gaius inquired as he chewed on another mochi, with Takumi slapping his hand away from his stash and grumbling quietly when the thief smirked to himself. You sighed in exasperation, but you couldn’t remove the grin off your face.
“Okay, here’s the plan…”
Bonk.
Zelgius looked down to see a mochi on the floor.
What in the heavens is going on?
As he leaned down to pick up the offending object, he felt another small bonk against his armor once again. Turning around sharply to see what it was, it was another mochi that seemed to have been thrown from nowhere.
“Wha-”
Then another one against his leg.
Zelgius turned his head up sharply when he heard the shuffling of a tree nearby him, coming up to inspect it immediately. Who was playing this game with him? Was it an enemy wanting to trick him, perhaps? As he approached the tree, he let out a small “oof” as one hit him square against his head. Were… were there multiple enemies who wished to play around with him?
“Damn, then I have to warn the Summoner…!” Zelgius said under his breath, but then had another piece of mochi thrown at him on his cheek. As he heard the snicker of someone in another tree, he immediately started to head towards it.
Suddenly, you felt yourself become cold.
He was heading towards you.
As you looked around at the other trees, the 4 others become dead silent and motioned you not to move, when-
Zelgius started to shake your tree violently. You started to become unbalanced on the tree branches, letting sounds of “woah, woah, woah!” as you clung onto the tree desperately for leverage - the general was cursing you under his breath, not knowing that you were the perpetrator of this all: “How dare you, you assassin, to come here and ought to mock me like this-!”
You lost grip of the branch as you tried holding onto the mochi as well, and took a tumble off when the shaking became harder-
“Ah!”
“[Name]?!”
You fell unceremoniously off the tree with all your mochis falling off from your grasp, closing your eyes as you expected to hit the floor.
But the impact never came, as you felt yourself being pulled flush against Zelgius entirely. As he looked at you wide-eyed, you mirrored his look for a brief moment until…
“Hehe… surprise?”
You felt Zelgius relax significantly as his shoulders lost their tension and he let out a large sigh. “Are you alright, [Name]? I’m glad to see you not at harm.”Now realizing that he was just worried for you, you suddenly felt a little guilty. “I-I’m fine, thanks to you…”
He nodded in relief as he set you down, then suddenly became red at what he just did. He just held you into his arms. As he became nervous under your stare, Zelgius didn’t seem to know what to say anymore when he folded his arms stiffly against himself - meanwhile, you felt guilty for placing him under such a situation because you thought he could have fun, but… he looked so stressed.
“I-”
“Wh-”
You both started to talk, but then immediately shut up after you cut each other out. “No please, Zelgius - go first!” You urged, but then he replies back: “No, it’s fine. You should have the first say…” And then both of you went silent again. You sighed again for what was the nth time that day.
“Look… I’m sorry, Zelgius. I’m sorry for scaring and teasing you like that, by throwing all of those mochis…” You scratched the back of your head, looking down sheepishly. “It’s just… I don’t know if you’re happy here.”
Zelgius felt himself inhaling sharply.
“You always look so downcast and I… I don’t know what to do. I just want you to know that I’m here for you and we’re all accepting of people… and that includes you too! I just…” you trailed off, finding the words hard to convey at the moment.
“… I just want you to be happy.”
Immediately, he spoke up as he took a step towards you and held onto your hand gently.
“Is this why you threw mochi at me? To make me… feel happy?”
You laughed awkwardly. “I mean… when you put it that way…”
There was a moment of silence between you two, as the guilt started to seep into you even more as the silence prolonged further; you were ready to start leaving, for you knew everything you did was ridiculous anyway, why did you even decide to do this-
“… I am happy here.”
You snapped out of your train of thoughts and looked up to him with genuine surprise.
There was a flush in Zelgius’ face again, this time darker under your shocked look. “It’s… hard to convey my emotions. I’ve repressed them for so long now it’s… become something I do.” He looked away from your eyes out of shyness, but continued: “But I am… so much happier to be here.”
And it took him all his willpower to look into your glistening, shining eyes again.
“And I seem… to be the happiest when I’m around you.”
Suddenly, he felt your arms come up to wrap around his neck when you jumped up, with him immediately catching you and pulling your hips flush against him as a gut-instinct - there was pure joy radiating off your laughter as you looked at him as Zelgius twirled you around the gardens out of surprise.
And there it finally was - the smile you had been looking from him for these many months.
“You’re… you’re smiling!” You exclaimed as he spun you around happily. “I’m… I’m so glad!” You laughed even more as you pulled him into a closer hug, both of you now laughing until the dizziness started to overcome you.
As he placed you down, Zelgius questioned your dizzy self with a smaller smile on his face this time: “Smiled? You wished to see me smile all this time?”
“Uh…” Now you were the one to feel shy. “Y-yes…”
He thought of all the times he smiled when around you as you stood there, shy in front of him - he smiled when he was in his bedroom the first night he stayed in Askr after your warm hospitality, he smiled when you were so childishly excited about all the candy you were gonna give out as you rambled on animatedly, he smiled when he saw you apologizing profusely for such a minor problem...
Had you never realize?
“I suppose I should smile more for you often, I take it?”
You flushed, and nudged his arm lightly. “When you’re happy, of course.”
“I always am, now that I’m with you.”

Christmas in the Avengers Tower
Word count: 1798
Warnings: none
(source: antyradio.pl)
It was Christmas and I woke up early on that day. I knew there were still many preparations for the evening’s Christmas Dinner, that’s why I pulled myself together quickly and headed to the kitchen to do what was needed to be done. Wanda and Vision were already there doing some things and Bruce was sitting at the table drinking coffee.
“Morning,” I greeted them.
“Oh, hey (y/n),” Bruce replied. “We made bets who will show up next. Vision won.”
“What a surprise,” I said ironically. “He’s a super high-tech computer so he probably developed an algorithm based on who wakes up and when.”
“Hey! Don’t talk about me like I wasn’t there! Instead of babbling you could better get to work, there is a lot to do.”
I nodded and got on with polishing the tableware. The morning went on painfully slowly and the omnipresent smell of Christmas dishes made the wait for the feast even more difficult.
“The most annoying thing about Christmas Dinner is that everybody wants to eat but nobody wants to prepare it. And you Bruce, since you’re here, you could at least pretend you’re doing something useful,” Wanda broke the silence.
“You guys are doing great, I’d only disturb.”
“Right,” I murmured and approached Bruce with a handful of plates. “Lay them out on the table and when you’re done come back for plates for soup and cutlery. Oh, and try not to break anything.”
Bruce murmured something under his breath and exited the kitchen. When I was done polishing, I went on to preparing sweet potatoes for the mash. We were working in silence until Peter Parker entered the kitchen.
“Well hello there! Why so silent? Let’s turn on some music to add ourselves the spirit!” He exclaimed happily.
I looked at him amused. “Hi spider-boy! I assume you came here to help?”
“Yes, of course! I’ll turn on the radio.”
“I have no idea what we would do without you,” Vision growled slightly annoyed.
Peter turned on the music and came up to me asking if there was anything for him to do. I ordered him to peel and drill apples for the pie and later prepare the mulled wine. So, the work went on, but this time with Christmas tunes coming out of the speakers. When the Italian song Acapulcoby Ricchi&Poveri started to play, Wanda stopped in her tracks.
“Why would they play a summer hit at this time of year?” she asked.
“Actually, the song is not a summer hit. It says that in Italy, when Christmas come, people go to Acapulco to use some sun,” I explained.
“Oh.”
We finished the work around noon, and everyone headed to their rooms to get ready for the evening. The first thing I did was checking if all presents are ready and prepared as they should be – packed and signed. For Thor I got a plaid flannel shirt and hammer-patterned boxers, for Bruce the Jurassic Park trilogy on Blu-ray and a Rubik’s Cube, for Bucky sleeves with fake tattoos and an iPod, for Peter a backpack and a Death Star Lego set, for Nat super-stylish velvet Ray-Ban sunglasses, for Tony a Gameboy and games, for Captain an electric shaver and Metallica’s Black Album, for Sam new running shoes, for Vision a sonic toothbrush, for Wanda a pillow with Vision’s face and a digital photo frame with some pictures of her and Vision I’ve secretly taken, for Clint a GPS locator, for T’Challa new Hawaiian-patterned swimming trunks and for Rhodey a voucher to spa. I even got a gift for the newest Avengers Tower resident, who was Loki, Thor’s brother. I got him an ugly Christmas sweater and the whole series of The Saxon Stories by Bernard Cornwell. Loki was still and outcast among Avengers, they all still remembered how he tried to take over the world. But even so I didn’t want him to be alienated on a day like this.
After checking the presents I moved on to making myself beautiful for the Dinner. I took a shower, washed my hair and applied some stunning make-up. For the occasion I chose a black skirt, an ugly Christmas sweater, similar to the one I bought for Loki and a Santa Claus hat. When I was all set, I took the gifts and headed to the dining room. Almost everyone was already there except for Thor and his brother. I put all presents under the tree and took a place at the table. Soon came Thor and announced that his brother won’t be joining us for the Christmas Dinner. A sigh of relief could be heard, and the atmosphere relaxed a little. I was wondering if I’m the only one who’s not happy about this. Okay, I knew Loki was evil and tricky, but it’s Christmas! Supposedly even animals speak in a human voice on this one special evening.
“Since everyone is finally here, I’d like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and let’s get down to eating!” Tony announced.
“Merry Christmas!” Everyone replied and the sound of chattering cutlery filled the room. There were so many dishes, all so delicious, and I wanted to try them all, but at some point my stomach was so full that I had to take a break.
“Hey, Clint, would you mind pouring me some mulled wine?”
“Sure thing, (y/n),” Clint replied, smiling as he handed me the mug full hot liquid. “Are you done earing?”
“Yes, for now. I’m sooo full,” I said, patting my belly. “I look as if I was pregnant.”
My words made Clint laugh. “I’ve had enough too, shall we get down to presents?”
“No, that would be rude!” I reproached. “We have to wait until everyone finishes eating.”
I liked Clint, he was one of my favourites at the Avengers Tower. Behind a seemingly inaccessible façade he was an incredibly nice and warm guy, a big child really. My second favourite was Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-boy and he was the one to speak up next. “Can we already move to the presents?” He asked loudly.
“I’m still eating, would you, please, let me finish?” Thor protested.
“You’re always eating, Thor,” Natasha teased. “I’m also voting for the presents.”
Everybody nodded and got up from their places, leaving almighty Thor, the God of Thunder, alone at the table. Unpacking presents gave everyone a lot of joy. Some of them were funny and some really useful. Among many voices I heard Vision saying quietly why would someone get him a toothbrush. I got many books, a set of beanie and gloves a, a t-shirt saying I <3 NYand earrings. After some time the only present under the tree was the one I prepared for Loki.
“Who on Earth would buy a present for this freak?” Sam asked turning the package around in his hands.
“Me.”
“You’re too good, (y/n).”
“Perhaps,” I agreed.
From that moment the atmosphere tensed a little, but everyone went on to their own business. Natasha and Bruce were kissing in the corner, Tony, Clint, Sam and Rhodey got engaged in a drinking contest, Vision and Wanda left, T’Challa and Cap were playing table football and Peter and Bucky started to put the Death Star together. I moved away from the group and sat in front of the glass wall, looking at the city and drinking tea. It was dark and Christmas lights were perfectly visible. The view calmed me down. The glass wall showed the reflection of Thor approaching me.
“Thank you,” He said sitting beside me.
“For what?” I asked.
“That you don’t see my brother as a monster,” The man explained. “He did many things wrong but he’s trying to be good. I wish everyone could see it.”
“Maybe he’s just lost?” I suggested. “You were brothers and best friends when you were young and then he found out he’s not your real brother, that your father took him away from his home planet. Maybe he’s lost his identity and feels he doesn’t belong anywhere? Maybe he did all these dreadful things because he was trying to find his place in the universe?”
“You know, (y/n), you might be right. But everyone’s aversion won’t help him.”
“So talk to him. He needs to understand that fixing his relations with everyone here will take some time, but if he sticks to his decision it will eventually pay off.”
“Thank you,” Thor said and got up to leave. “And thank you for the boxers, they’re wonderful.”
“It wasn’t me, it was the Santa Claus.”
It got really late and I was the only one left in the dining room. I didn’t even realize when everyone left, I was so drowned in my thoughts. I decided to go to sleep too, but first…I took a glance at the lonely package under the Christmas tree. I knew I had to be the one to make the first move, and to get to my room I had to go past Loki’s anyway, so I decided to give him the gift in person. I took the package and headed in the right direction, vigorously at first but as I was getting close I slowed down my pace, losing my initial confidence. What if, in fact, Loki was so evil? I shook of all negative thoughts. He came to the Avengers Tower on his own accord, he must’ve had good intentions.
When I stood at his door I had to fight another battle with myself. And what if he’s asleep and I’ll wake him up and make him angry? And then: No, I have to try!I knocked on the door slightly and held my breath for a few seconds. There was no response. And just when I was about to leave the door opened slightly.
“What do you want?” I heard Loki’s smooth voice.
I turned around to face the door again. “You didn’t join us for the Christmas Dinner and Santa Claus left something for you too,” I said walking back to the door. Loki opened the door some more and I saw he was dressed in black sweatpants only.
“Some kind-hearted creature cared to get me a present. This can’t be. Where’s the trick?” Loki asked suspiciously.
“There is none, I swear,” I promised in a voice just above a whisper.
“Why do you even care?”
“Because I believe you’re not evil, just lost. I bought you a series of books by my favourite author, let me know if you like them.” With these words I turned to leave but stopped after few steps and turned around. “Oh, and Loki, Merry Christmas.”
“Merry Christmas, (y/n).” Loki whispered and quickly closed the door behind him not to let me see tears forming in his eyes.

Happy Holidays to Weeks, aka @enterprisetrampstamp! I’m your @startreksecretsanta! This was really fun to write, particularly because I never really focused on Chuhura as a ship before. But now, thanks to you, I have seen the light and it is GOOD! I hope you enjoy!
Christine couldn't stay still. It was a big night aboard the Enterprise, and few people were more excited than her for it. The annual holiday party was tonight in recreation room 4, and other than being the biggest party of the year on the ship, Christine had a few personal reasons to be eager. But at the rate she was bouncing from task to task and looking at the time, she was sure Dr. McCoy was going to give her a tranquilizer.
"Nurse, please," McCoy said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. His hand came down on his desk with a sigh. "Can you just get me these last few tapes?"
"Hmm? Oh, sure." She barely even noticed as she went to the lab and came back with the requested tapes. At this point she was already planning her actions as soon as she could leave.
McCoy took the tapes from her when she came back, annoyance clear in his voice. "Thank you." The screen in front of him flashed on as he played the tape, and as he started to take down notes he grumbled, "Alright, Christine, you can go now."
Christine's head popped up. "Really? Wait, you're not done yet..."
He waved her off with one hand, not looking up. "Eh, if I keep ya here any longer, you might actually start bouncing off the walls. Besides, I don't have much more to do." He took a moment to give her a warm smile. "Enjoy yourself, Christine."
She returned the smile, and after thanking him, left sickbay and scurried down the corridors with the composed speed of the practiced nurse that she was. The party was going to start soon and she needed to get ready.
Once in her quarters, Christine wasted no time in getting ready. Her base outfit was simple enough - black slacks and a long-sleeved shirt - but the flair came with her sweater: a blue-and-white knitted Christmas sweater with the silhouette of a tree and white dots of snow peppering the front. The sleeves were purposefully long enough for her to bunch her hands up in them. For added fun, she pulled a Santa hat over her hair, tossing the ball of fluff at the end to the back of her head with a satisfying flick.
Ready as ever, she looked over to her bed, where a bag with a little bow on top waited. This was half of the reason she was so excited for tonight. While it was by no means mandatory, crew members often used the holiday party as the chance to exchange gifts with one another. And there was one person in particular Christine had singled out for a gift this year.
Picking up the bag and checking her mirror once more, Christine walked out of her quarters and strolled down to the turbo lift, her heart thumping. She wasn't one to be nervous, but the feeling was starting to mix in with the excitement. The moment she'd been planning for weeks, the one she'd been dreaming about and debating over for so long, was finally here. Oh god, it was here.
As the lift's doors opened on deck 7, she inhaled a deep breath to steady herself. She could do this.
Rec room 4 was as loud as ever. Loud, and smelling like cinnamon. Christine cherished the scent as she merged in with the mass of crew members filling the room. It seemed the party was well underway. Music jingled seamlessly overhead, and most people already had cups of egg nog or cider in hand and were standing around in conversation with each other.
Christine grabbed a cup of cider herself as she pushed further into the space. A couple of people greeted her as she walked around, and she responded with a polite hello of her own, but her eyes only wanted to see one person right then.
And suddenly they did.
As Christine turned around the corner of one group, she finally saw Lieutenant Uhura, sitting on a couch underneath a screen with a projected fireplace playing on it. She was leaning back against the couch, her legs crossed and eyes closed, a grin playing at her lips as she twirled a cup of egg nog around in her hand.
Christine's heart skipped a beat. She don't know how or when it exactly started, but somehow she'd developed feelings for Uhura over the past few months. She hadn't said anything at first, for fear of ruining their friendship, but as time went on and the line between "friendly smile" and "are you blushing for the same reason I am" blurred, she knew she had to say something. That's what tonight was for.
"Mind if I join you, Nyota?"
Christine's words jolted Uhura's eyes open. She blinked as she came out of her moment of peace, quickly shaking her head and focusing on the newcomer. When she recognized who it was, she was smiling again. "Oh. Hi, Christine!" She patted the empty spot to her left. "By all means, please do."
Christine accepted the invitation and sat down, carefully placing the present she'd brought along on her left and taking a sip of cider. "What were you thinking about?" she asked.
"Oh, sometimes I just like to settle back at parties like this and listen to all the noise without actually having to separate it all like I do on the comm. It's really relaxing," Uhura answered, her gaze still dreamy at the thought. "Anyway, how are you? I feel like we haven't hung out in forever!"
That earned a bashful smile. "Right? December seems to get busier every year, I swear." Christine settled back against the couch, her shoulders carrying the weight of her work on them. "I've been good, just tired. This party is the only thing that got me through this week."
"I hear that."
Christine nodded, then turned to her friend. "How about you?"
"Same, pretty much. I actually came straight here from my shift, why I'm still in my uniform." She gestured down to her clothing. Then with a laugh she brought a hand behind her head and stretched out, making Christine gulp at the sight. "Maximum relaxation time, you know?"
"Yeah..." Christine quickly looked away and came back to the conversation. "Y-Yeah, I know!" With a flash of realization, she pulled the bag at her side into her lap, staring down at it like it was a lifeline. It was sudden, but this might actually be the perfect moment to execute her plan. As much as her nerves suddenly didn't want to. "That, um...that actually is a good segue. This...is for you."
Christine offered the present to Uhura, who graciously blushed as she put her drink down on the table next to her and carefully accepted the bag. She reached in, her hands finding a good grip on whatever it was until she finally pulled it out and held it up. It was a sweater just like Christine's, only red instead of blue.
"I thought it might be kinda fun to make us matching sweaters," Christine started to explain. "And now you also have something festive for tonight!"
Uhura went from admiring the sweater to staring dumbfounded at her friend. "Wait, hold on, you made these?"
"Y-Yeah...?"
Uhura let the sweater fall to her lap as she pulled Christine into a hug, the latter immediately returning it. Uhura pulled back and said, "In case anyone hasn't told you, you're awesome. Thank you, Christine." She picked the sweater back up, admiring it with even more fervor. "This is gorgeous!"
The blush was back. Knitting was just a side hobby of hers, but she didn't really share enough of her work to garner a lot of compliments on it.
Uhura scooted forward on the couch and gently put the sweater on, then stood up and twirled around. "How does it look?"
"Oh, you look fabulous, honey," Christine said, a hint of amusement in her sincerity. "I hope it fits alright. I tend to make my sweaters a little big so they're all cozy." To demonstrate she pulled her own sleeves up over her hands and brought her cider up to her lips to take a sip.
After sitting back down, Uhura did the same with her sleeves, holding them close to her with a happy, playful smile. Christine could have died from how cute she looked, and that reminded her of the other part of her plan.
"There's...one more part to your present, Ny..."
Uhura looked at her curiously, and she motioned for her to lean in so she could whisper in her ear.
"I hope I say this right..." Christine admitted, willing her heart to calm down as she also leaned in. With a deep breath, she whispered, "Nakupenda."
Christine leaned back, her face as red as her Santa hat as Uhura sat there, speechless and mouth hanging open in shock. Judging by the reaction, Uhura knew exactly what the word meant in her native Swahili. But Christine couldn't read anything else in her expression, good or bad. And so, in a moment of panic, she stood up.
"I'm sorry, maybe I shouldn't have said that. I'm...gonna go get some more cider."
Christine turned away from her friend and walked away, refusing to let herself look back. Regret washed over her, but she wouldn't let it show yet. She did grab another cup of cider, her first cup abandoned on the couch. But instead of going back, she left the room, walking past the people spilling out into the hall, and navigated the corridors until she reached the observation deck.
She was relieved to find the room empty, and immediately began to pace as her thoughts overtook her.
Why did she say that? "Too soon" seemed like an understatement. She'd messed everything up, and with her best friend.
But...she'd been so sure that they were on the path to being something more than friends. She wouldn't have said anything at all if she didn't think there was at least a hint of returned feelings. There'd been so many shared looks and flirty smiles and...such a spark between them. Had she just read too much into everything? Had she been too hopeful?
Christine stopped and looked out one of the bay windows, taking in the magnificence of space. The stars didn't seem to have an answer for her, and she sighed wearily. Plans of avoiding Uhura started popping up in her head, making her both sad yet grateful that they worked in two different parts of the Enterprise.
Her thoughts froze when she heard the hiss of the observation deck's doors opening, and she looked towards them as Uhura walked through. So much for avoiding her.
Uhura seemed to have gotten over the shock of Christine's confession back in the rec room, and now looked more concerned than anything. She crossed over to Christine, taking up a spot next to her by the window. "Hey...you okay?"
Christine wished she had gone to her quarters. At least there she could've kept Uhura out. But now they were here alone, and she had to face the consequences of what just happened. She looked back out the window and shook her head. "Don't worry about it. I...shouldn't have said anything." In an attempt to lighten the mood, she asked, "Did I at least say it right?"
"You said it perfectly," Uhura chuckled. "But why'd you leave?"
"I...I don't know. I panicked. I felt like I made a mistake in saying...what I did...because it seemed like you...don't feel the same way." Christine turned away, biting her bottom lip as that realization finally hit her. But to her surprise, she felt a hand on her shoulder, prompting her to turn back around.
"Christine," Uhura started, making sure she had her friend's attention. "Listen, that's not why I reacted that way. I was shocked because-" She placed her other hand on the opposite shoulder. "-that was the sweetest thing that anyone has ever said to me, and to say it in Swahili means the world. Not a lot of people would go out of their way to look that up." She brought a hand down Christine's shoulder and started to draw lines between the dots of snow on her sweater with her finger. Both their gazes fixated on the movement. "And also, you never gave me a chance to actually respond."
Christine's eyes snapped back to Uhura, her mind already bracing for whatever the response may be. She willed herself to ignore the hand drawing constellations on her shoulder.
Uhura didn't look up until the last second. When she did, something fiery yet so adorable lit her eyes that Christine was caught off-guard as Uhura leaned forward and kissed her, one hand snaking around her neck to pull her closer.
Christine was stunned, suddenly understanding Uhura's reaction earlier. It faded away quickly though as she melted into the kiss, wrapping her arms around Uhura's back to hold her. They both gave their all to the kiss, to each other, leaving themselves breathless when they finally separated.
Uhura smiled, reaching a hand up to caress Christine's cheek as she finally answered, "I love you, too."

Five minute ficlet
“Do you ever just want to fall in love?” You asked Nyota as you dropped into the seat across from her in the commissary.
“Not as a general rule, but I have done it in the past,” she replied, an amused smirk gracing her features. “What exactly do you mean, just so we’re on the same page?”
“You know, that thrill you get from seeing the person across the room. Or the weird breathlessness somewhere just below your lungs when you imagine kissing them. Or that tingling all over when you finally kiss. And the sensation of waking up warm, cocooned in the warmth of their scent with their arms around you,” you explained. “I want to feel that way.”
“Well, you kind of need to find someone to fall in love with, don’t you?” Nyota asked, eyebrows raised. “Do you have someone in mind?”
“There’s that guy who always hangs out with Hendorff. He’s passably attractive, and seems like he might be nice,” you shrugged.
“Mueller? No,” Nyota laughed. “Mueller is not the kind of guy you fall in love with. Mueller is an mistake begging to be avoided. Besides, you’re a Lieutenant. You’ve taken the command module. You are allowed to cover the bridge when the Captain is indisposed or off-duty. You’re a catch.”
“Yes, those qualities are definitely what turn heads,” you replied, your tone dripping sarcasm.
“Alright, how about this? You’re beautiful, successful, clever, funny, and kind. You have a way about you that makes people feel comfortable, but a strength that makes it clear you are not a pushover,” Nyota laughed. “All of which make you far too good for Mueller. Pick anyone else.”
“I don’t know. There seems to be a clear division between the cool kids on the ship and the rest of us, Ny,” you admitted. She looked surprised.
“The cool kids?” She echoed.
“Yeah, you, Spock, Scotty, Sulu, Chekov, Doctor McCoy, Chapel, Rand, the Captain,” you explained. “Hendorff sort of fits in a little, even. And then there’s rest of us.” Nyota’s brow furrowed.
“It’s not like that, Y/N,” she protested. “We’re close because we’ve been together for so long. But we’re just friends. It’s not like we’re an exclusive clique.”
“It feels like it sometimes,” you shrugged, flushing with embarrassment. “I mean, I have my science crowd, but -”
“Wait,” Nyota interrupted. “You do have someone in mind. Honey, Sulu’s married.”
“I don’t have a thing for Sulu. Botanists are a little,” you paused, “weird.”
“Don’t think I didn’t notice you don’t deny having a crush on someone,” Nyota commented, crossing her arms across her chest. You felt the pink already on your cheeks deepen.
“Don’t call it a crush. It’s so childish,” you grumbled. Nyota all but crowed in triumph.
“For god’s sake, Y/N, tell me who, and I’ll set you up!” She exclaimed. You shot her a dirty look, and then looked around the commissary to make sure no one had noticed her comment.
“Oh my god, Ny, no,” you hissed. “The last thing I want is for him to think I’m some sort of loser with an unrequited crush.”
“You can either tell me, or I can systematically start having all of them ask you out,” Nyota shrugged. “Even the ladies. And trust me when I tell you that will be so much more embarrassing than if you let me set you up.”
You cringed and looked down at your plate, feeling stupid for ever bringing it up. “I’ll tell you, but only if you promise not to try to set me up.”
“Well that’s defeatist,” she sighed. “But since I’m now curious, fine.”
You suddenly got cold feet and stood up. “Actually, you know, I’m not ready to share this. I gotta go. Hide. In my quarters. For the rest of this cruise.” You turned and rushed out of the commissary without looking back at Nyota. Or up at where you were going, slamming headlong into the captain.
“Watch out there, Lieutenant,” he laughed good-naturedly as he steadied you with your free hand. “I don’t think I’ll turn the bridge over to you if you’re the reason I’m on medical leave.”
“Sorry, sir!” You exclaimed, your cheeks flushing again. “I wasn’t paying attention and -”
“I was teasing you, Y/N,” he offered, hand still on your arm. You looked up and tried to make eye contact with him, but the continued contact on your arm was making your skin tingle and your cheeks burn warmer than you thought capable. Your comm chirped and you excused yourself, pulling your arm out of his grasp to look at the message.
“JIM? Girl, you aim high. But you deserve the stars.” Nyota’s message read. You cleared your throat and nodded at the captain again before dashing to your room in horrified embarrassment.
