how is it that being here feels so foreign and strange, yet i know this place like the back of my hand and can feel it in my bones?

no, i didn’t want to come back here. yes, i grew up here and could tell you where every life milestone happened. no, i don’t feel fully like myself here. yes, i want to see the few people here that i miss. no, i didn’t want to come back to this house. yes, this room was my safe space until i could leave. no, i don’t like coming back here. yes, this place will always live inside of me, no matter how hard i try to leave it behind.

i think the strangest part of it all is that i still call this place “home”
