also as a guy who has been known as the Fallout New Vegas guy for nearly a decade. saying that the show retcons fnv is a bit of a stretch. i’m personally not happy that todd and bethany esda are approaching this given that they’ve treated fnv as the stepchild that they hate because people like it more than their own kids. but i also don’t think it will be That Deep

update: seen the tweet from emil pagliaro (sp?) about how it’s not a retcon, considering he also clarified the timeline. so now i have a lot of theories

okay. okay. if i separate my autism brain from my critic brain. the show is actually pretty decent. i have my faults with it (maximus has finn from star wars energy and unfortunately that’s not a compliment) but it is technically very impressive and i was engaged with the majority of the story. for a casual fan or someone who doesn’t know anything about the franchise then it is an Excellent entry point.

HOWEVER. i cannot be normal about the lore and so i am mad that they couldn’t just. move up what happened to shady sands to After new vegas and have it aligned with the end of lonesome road. if they didn’t have the ending shot implying that season 2 will be primarily focused in new vegas, then i would have given them a pass. but instead i am screaming into a pillow over what destroying shady sands 3 years before fnv has for the plot implications.

hello quick housekeeping

- i work an office job full time monday to wednesday which leaves me with very little spoons and eye strain/fatigue. i will generally do replies on thursday-saturday and queue for the week. ooc posting speed does not mean i’m ignoring plotting messages or ic content, they take different levels of energy.

- can i gently ask to reblog things like memes from the source. i have discord webhooks for tracking when my partners reply so it clutters up my activity.

- eventually i may cap how many duplicates of canon characters (not including pc’s) i’m interacting with, out of courtesy to my partners. right now we are feeling out the vibes still.

- i won’t be adding any more muses to this blog! six is plenty given [gestures above]. all ocs in this house all the time.
