[edit: 1 feb 2024] i think my screen had the Flux settings too high before and i thought his shirt was beige. its actually white, so i changed his shirt from a shabby to classy dress shirt.

unfortunately none of the helm apparel had the right colors for his helmet, so i opted for tan okapi to represent his helm's horn colors

i wanted to include the iron shield apparel for his adamantine shield/pot, but it wouldve covered up his kilt, so i left it out

initially i tried nocturne and spiral, but the armour pieces looked too short on them, so i ended up going for mirror instead

This is going to need a lot of context right off the bat. I (20'sM) am a gay man that comes from an extremely conservative family. My sister (20'sF) is also a lesbian and recently got married and adopted a child. I'm very proud of her, but that's not the issue.

My parents seem to have little to no issue with my sister marrying a woman. They do have a very big issue with me liking dudes, however. Like, it was the reason my parents got divorced "big issue." I'm not gonna go into everything, but my sister ended up with my dad and I stayed with my mom for reasons I'd rather not share.

Our last parting was on... less than decent terms. Upon finding out that I was of the homosexual variety, my dad flipped his lid. He called me several slurs and said some other very hurtful things, and even made moves to physically attack me. My mom, also a very homophobic woman, stepped in and thankfully talked him down. Then divorce, etc etc.

I saved up enough money to move out when I turned 18 and may have done some impulsive things including completely trashing my mom's bathroom, which I know I'm definitely the asshole for, but in my defense my mom kept "forgetting" to pick up my prescriptions and I was manic (I have bipolar). But, again, I know I'm the AH for that.

I now live with my two best friends R (20sNB) and P (20sM) in a house we all pay for. R comes from money so they help out a lot, and I love them both to death. We kind of have a sort of situationship but none of us are poly? Idk it's weird we're just going with it rn.

Anyway, I bring them up bc we all went to my sister's wedding together, and my parents separately chewed me out for bringing them (and for R daring to wear a dress. They're amab for context) and I obviously argued back bc hey they're my best friends and my sister specifically said it was okay for me to bring them (she and R are also friends and they wouldve been invited regardless of me bringing P) and also because R looks very good in a dress and i can handle them shit-talking me but i will not tolerate slander towards R or P.

At the wedding, I went full no contact with them and told them to lose my number. They, ofc, did Not lose my number and I got several calls from extended family saying about what you would expect them to say, so I switched numbers and gave only my sister and her wife my new number.

My sister. I love her to pieces but sometimes she gets on my nerves. She gives my number to my mom to have "just in case," but she reassures me that she won't give it to my dad or any other family. So far, she's made good on that promise, I just have to deal with periodic calls about getting a girlfriend and having kids.

Now, my dad isn't the healthiest guy out there. He has arthritis, osteoporosis, and several other things that i don't really wanna get into. As he's aged he's only gotten worse and there have been several times he's almost died, but recently he's been put on hospice and has an estimated Not Very Long to live.

Here's where I may be the AH. My dad calls me while I'm at a very important, personal event for R (he got my number from my mom) and goes on a long rant on how I'm an unlovable disgrace and how he fed me and clothed me and I could make up for all that by helping him pay off hospital debt. I say no immediately and tell him that he's never been my dad, only my dna donor, and that he's going to be dead anyway and that selling his house could cover all the bills. He calls me many more names and tells me he wishes I was never born (calling my mom some very derogatory names too (she's asian)) and that i should just go ahead and off myself to save the world someone like me. I tell him he should die faster while he's at it because God knows the world already has enough bigots in it and there could never be too many mentally ill queers.

some mom's tell me to scare their kid so that they listen to her and yknow im all for putting up the most dramatic performance of my life.

jk jk. actually, i think that everyone has a little bit of dental phobia, no matter what age. anyone, including me, once we get into that dental chair, we're all scared because im ngl- while it is rare, accidents do happen.

but ive gotten equally good at managing dental phobic patients. I'm very good at distracting patients and the key is to lie so elaborately and keep on talking about ANYTHING, so that the patient's brain is too overstimulated to even think about the pain or needle or anything. the 75 year old has her eyes wide because she's listening to me telling her about how I had to make a fancy dinner for 25 people and no one said THANK YOU! none of that happened, but she felt seen because she came from a background where she had to be slave over the hot stove and have ungrateful ass kids and husband and in laws. so in a way, i healed her, i acted as a therapist and a dentist. and i didnt get paid, so she sympathised for me <3333

they sure are Doing. theyre actually banned from certain places and by banned i mean met with ruthlessness and immediate . not violence but the places where theyre banned from Will resort to that its just theyll drive them away by firing warning shock to freeze shots, to actively shooting them and starting a fight. these places include zoras domain, rito village (though less hostile), gerudo town, and kakariko village (for more obvious reasons, uh. oh man this causes grade a Problems for cado. poor guy). thered be more but theres not a lot of villages left standing, and most hylian towns only know them as bandits and nothing more. the zora were Really headstrong with the yiga, sometimes actively hunting them in areas they were in, and during the calamity their anger surged MASSIVELY with miphas death but then . turned over? rolled over? mellowed out later on. hey like a wave tide. but anyways yeah they dont hunt them anymore thankfully. the rito dont either and are honestly the better of the places to get caught by. they arent that angry but they do ban them and escort them out through whatever means they have to. most yiga only really go to hebra rather than rito village so its mostly chill. teba is a little more forceful to the yiga though- revali was known to be extremely pissed at them, enough to find and raid their hideout and wouldve done it alone were it not for urbosa. however teba doesnt want them all dead. revali doesnt either really but he absolutely uses them at target practice he doesnt like them. and kakariko village!! they dont hunt yiga really. theyre close knit and dont really Leave so they mostly just observe the travelers who pass by. yiga can station near kakariko to get to link however inside the village is immediate fury. some shekiah Wouldnt be lenient towards them. at all. theyd likely escort them out or question them, letting impa do some of the work. luckily none have been killed when caught but they absolutely sustained injuries. gerudo town is surprisingly less angry? than the others? like yeah theyll point their weapons towards you once they know youre a yiga but theyll warn you to get out or get bularia. theyre more of a nuisance rather than a true threat (besides the thunder helm). but urbosa surprisingly didnt send anyone after them though she did task them with finding the hideout. no this was personal to her and she had to be physically restrained from committing an actual war crime. goron city isnt chill with them but they arent really banned? per say? they mostly dont know about the yiga daruk didnt have the others hunt them down and was pretty quiet about it. like urbosa it was more personal to him which meant He had to deal with it, as it wasnt his comrades problem. also as death mountain became active again the yiga decided it really wasnt worth it to go there. theres easier places to get em

next, this would parallel sooyoung a lot more, there tends to be this joke amongst creative circles that a creator often projects parts of themselves in their works and that includes characters, both of them being women would make that way more obvious

transfem joonghyuk wouldve made her dynamic/relationship with seolhwa much more interesting since they wouldnt be a typical “het” couple anymore, seolhwa’s character could have been given a little more relevance with the kind of conflicts which could arise from this, the most obvious relating to sexuality

on that note, their ideas of femininity and how they prefer to express it are completely different despite them both being the same gender which could bring up interesting conversations about it (mostly thinking about that scene where seolhwa and joonghyuk go to the auction house prior to gigantomachia and talk about cosmetic skills, this scene couldve been way more fleshed out than it was presented in canon)

if you still want the punisher to exist, this could also fit into that conversation about gender expression and bring up interesting ideas depending on how butch you make joonghyuk

both seolhwa and the punisher would add a lot of complexity to joonghyuk’s whole relationship with self-indulgence and happiness since again, bc of her situation as a regressor she either wouldnt want to open herself up in the interest of practicality or doesnt feel deserving of it when her goal hasnt been accomplished

there is a lot to be said about season 4 mike and his behavior, especially in the roller rink scene. aka in how mike reacted, both towards will and towards the bullying that happened towards jane. i don't completely agree with his actions (in terms of believing that was how he wouldve behaved), and it definitely felt a little out of character. whether that was intentional or poor writing on the duffer brothers' part depends on the direction they take his character into during season 5. but if i apply my own headcanons onto it, i can try to make sense of why acted the way he did, even if it was a little unusual for him.

if it hasn't been made clear already on this blog: i headcanon mike as homosexual homoromantic. everyone is entitled to their own interpretation. some headcanon him as bisexual biromantic, & i respect/can see that. but for me, the argument between will and mike at the roller rink (and then their makeup back at the byers house) really solidifies my interpretation.

here are a few things i've noticed about mike's behavior in this scene:

he is unfortunately paying a lot more attention to will than to jane.

they do not interact a whole lot before the argument. his body language in the airport was clearly uncomfortable (which i will get to in another post), but at the rink, mike is being smiley and playful. he mostly addresses his affections towards jane, which of course he would be, because even if he doesn't like or love her in that way they're still friends above anything else. he cracks a joke about his "vomit green" socks and briefly turns to will for acknowledgment, from whom he gets virtually none. this quickly discourages him and he turns his head, focusing back onto jane. he's embarrassed that will isn't responding the way he wanted him to.

when jane is approached by angela and her bullies, both jane and will's body languages shift. jane is obviously unsure of what to say and what angela might say to mike. angela's tone is nasty. she is being condescending the entire time. mike is excited to meet jane's friends, and for some reason doesn't 100% pick up on this behavior, even though jane is clearly nervous/uncomfortable, not as happy as she would be to see someone she's told mike is her friend. he thinks everyone's being a little weird at most, but he's still nodding along, not really paying attention the way he should be. his mind is elsewhere. he's confused when they drag jane away but he doesn't get up or take a second glance. he just looks back down into his milkshake and drinks it.

mike is not stupid. hes not always good with romantic encounters and knowing if someone likes him or not but he can tell when someone is being a jerk. his behavior here tells me he is not 100% there. if he knew that angela was being rude, he wouldn't have just let them take away jane so easily.

when will tells her she's been having trouble and they have their fight, their argument turns into something else completely. he tells will everything he has been noticing even though we've hardly seen him address will at all. according to mike, will was being a "douche." "you were rolling your eyes, you were moping, you were barely talking. you basically sabotaged the whole day." mike was talking to jane and trying to enjoy spending time with her, but in the back of his head, he was very clearly paying a lot of attention to will if he was noticing how he was 'moping' the entire time.

2. mike doesn't jump onto the rollerrink immediately to help jane.

many people (including myself) think he could've done a lot more than what he does when he sees what's going on. but here's what i note: mike goes through a thought process here. the first thing he does is examine the situation. he stands up quickly, sees how they're antagonizing jane. he's confused, and is becoming increasingly concerned for her. but then the music turns on and it becomes very very clear what this is.

mike knows jane. he doesn't always get it right when it comes to their relationship but he knows her. if the music is blasting like that and everyone's eyes are on her, screaming and laughing, she is bound to get overstimulated. he knows this. we see her overstimulation being portrayed through the camera as it does a fast blur effect around jane and everyone in the rink. everything is happening so fast. the first thing he thinks to do is stop the noise. for her sake. that is why he runs to yell at the dj. it's not a very well thought out move on his part, but it was well intentioned.

3. the argument with will turns into something else very quickly, but mike is reading it in a completely different way.

will has been very clearly stated by noah himself and in the final episodes of the show to have romantic feelings for mike. he is canonically gay. but the way he delivers the line of "what about us?" makes mike incredibly stiff and defensive almost immediately. we've seen this happen previously, specifically season 3, during the rain scene. it seems that every time will confronts mike about being a bad friend, mike gets stressed out about it in the most specific way. season 3's "it's not my fault you don't like girls," versus season 4's "we're friends. we're friends." mike is projecting. will doesn't seem to even be thinking about the situation romantically at all, even after he says this. will doesn't miss a beat in saying, "we used to be best friends." but the way mike emphasizes the fact that they're friends (which was never stated otherwise by will, and wasn't even what he meant?) feels like such a clear case of him projecting his own conflicting emotions onto will, again.

he would not have taken the statement the same if it had been dustin or lucas saying it, i can guarantee that. but for some reason, whenever will gets onto the topic of their strained friendship, mike gets very touchy. he does not know how to deal with his feelings towards will and how their dynamic has ultimately changed and has been changing. this explains the uncomfortable hug at the airport, and the way he only faintly tries to address will maybe once and is quickly embarrassed by will's lack of response and doesn't try it again, opting to just keep "ignoring him" instead.

mike also does not mention the fact that he has been trying to call will the whole time. dustin states in a later episode that the byers' line is always occupied and that mike complains about it. mike and jane's main form of communication seems to be letters. whether this is a personal or safety choice is up in the air. but if mike was supposedly only calling for jane, why is his defense to will: "maybe you should've reached out more"? if mike knew he was secretly intentionally ignoring will during their long distance friendship, he wouldn't have said anything like that at all. but he lets himself slip up on the fact that yes, he was bothered by the fact that will didn't call him much. he might've been trying this whole time every now and then, but with scarcely any luck, i don't really see him keeping up with it if he's noticing that will isn't calling him back when joyce is finally off the phone.

4. mike's unusual anger towards jane for sticking up for herself.

there are a couple reasons i can see mike getting mad at her for standing up to bullies even though he's never had a problem with it before. in season 1 when jane hurts the party's bullies, it isn't directly traceable back to her. sure, a girl with telekenetic powers made troy pee himself and broke his arm, but what adult would believe that?

in season 4, the stakes are very different. jane is trying to have a normal life now. there is still a chance, even without her powers, that the lab could find her (which they do.) mike is a chronic worrier. what jane did to angela could have been very serious. not that she didn't deserve it, but real world actions like that have real world consequences, aka, jane getting arrested. he didn't want her to get in trouble. things like that don't just go away. he knows this, and it's why he's mad. but it's not even really him being mad at her at all, just really scared for her. and when mike gets scared for the people he cares about, he gets loud and frustrated. he's a child who didn't grow up given the open tools to express himself. this is also shown in season 2, when he is angry with jim hopper for hiding jane but really just drowning in a sense of relief that she was alive and a fear of how she was living without any contact with her friends this whole life. and again, in season 3, when he gets mad at max and in turn everyone else for being "careless" with jane's powers. he's not necessarily mad at them as much as he's scared of what might happen to her if she pushes herself too far. he doesn't want to lose her.

mike has never had a problem with standing up to a bully, especially for a friend. but the fact that jane put herself in a position where she might get in serious trouble, worried him, and that worry manifested into hostility towards her, the same way he turns hostile towards will when will didn't tell him that jane has been having problems at school.

my conclusion is this: mike has always been a moody kid. it's pretty much the staple of his character. but this has always been because he doesn't know how to express himself any other way. he wasn't raised to be so open and vulnerable with his feelings. the handful of times he is vulnerable and open about how he is feeling (not just with actions but with WORDS) is when he is with jane (this is a very thin claim because even with her he really struggles to both comfort her and tell her what's really going on with him, stuttering his way through and not being direct), but especially with will.

he is open and honest with will after they have a fight. he accepts responsibility for his poor actions. he admits to will that he was scared of losing him. he doesn't do this in a sincere way with anyone else. it comes out naturally to him with will. he doesn't need to be told to apologize or what to say, he just does it. will is his safe space and he struggles without him. jane is probably second closest to his heart and he can't stand the thought of losing her again. he is moody because he's upset. because he's scared. everything is changing and he feels like he's facing it alone.

this does NOT excuse his behavior towards his friends (this is referring to jane, will, but ALSO lucas), as much as i'm trying to provide some insight on his thought process and his inner conflicts throughout season 4, seeing as we don't get a lot from his point of view at all. i'm hoping season 5 wraps up his character arc nicely, because to me, there's a lot there that he has been struggling with since season 1. whether it be his home life, his sexuality, his fear of getting older, or all three, i guess we'll have to see.

im reading an article about how vitriolic people visiting the national parks have gotten, and it is SO cathartic to see my exact experiences in grocery retail be restated by the customer service reps working in the parks.

like its awful, obvious. the average customer has gotten so nasty, and the employees Do Not deserve the treatment they’re receiving. but during 2020/2021, people seemed to think that those viral Nasty Customer videos were 1) not common and 2) relegated just to grocery/retail. and i cant speak for every single hospitality and customer service sector and store, but i can say that at my store that sort of vitriolic outbreak became VERY common. not constant, but common enough to bump the baseline up.

my manager and i had a conversation where she said a lot of her friends-- some of whom had been in the hospitality or customer service industry for over a decade-- were considering a career change because it was SO BAD and no one could even fathom how to move forward. none of us could imagine it ever getting better. our New Normal was people screaming at and berating us every day, blaming us for mask mandates and vaccines and supply shortages. threatening legal action and physical violence. of people intentionally trying to get us sick and terrorizing us. everything was an argument with no hope of de-escalation; it genuinely wouldve been less inciting to tell some of those customers “go fuck yourself” than it was to tell them “im so sorry, but.” and all that while we were surrounded by the extremely smothering reality that no one cared if we died and everyone considered us sub-human.

everyone i know who gave a fuck quit shortly after i did, because none of us could handle it anymore. this includes people who’d worked at that store since it opened, some of our most decorated and knowledgeable coworkers.

like. i dunno yall. its kind of like how you cant describe how things just Make Sense as you near the latter half of your 20s; i cant put into words just how horrifically awful customer service was at that time. if you didnt personally experience it, everything we say sounds like an exaggeration and hyperbole.

and i cannot stress this enough: its still that bad. i would imagine most customer service and hospitality places had the same thing happen: a mass exodus of everyone who knew what they were doing because they could not stand the abuse anymore, and a rotating door of new hires that Refuse (rightfully so!!!) to tolerate the abuse. there is a new breed of customer that genuinely Does Not Care about employees and see pleas of humanity and kindness as a challenge to see how quickly they can break the employee at the desk.

this is especially relevant now, with it being the holidays. employees are more short staffed and overworked than ever, and customers some how have even less patience. customers dont plan literally five minutes out, and then blame employees for not materializing their needs before them on a silver platter.

so the other day i decided to download sims 4 on my new pc (haven't played it on pc for 8 yrs since my pc broke) ive been playing it on my xbox ever since. so i downloaded it and wicked whims, extreme violence, and some other cc including animations and cas stuff, which was working perfectly up until a little less than an hour ago. A couple hours ago, I decided to get more cc including more cas stuff, but i spent hours looking for the perfect britney spears sim, finally found it, proceeded to find same one for free, found that, got it, worked fine in cas, and probably wouldve worked fine in game if i didnt go on a download spree for outfits before i transfered britney cc to mods, i decided to download lots of clothes and hairs, then when i got bored of searching, i transferred them to mods and proceeded to launch sims, go into cas and make britney, she was perfect and so was all the other cc in cas. after i was done, moved her in my main household, moved my house hold to an empty lot, spent hours making a britney themed house (dw its safe i didnt use cc so i still got a house with a britney shrine) , when i was finished i decided to go into live mode after saving and made britney flirt with one of my sims, then that sim's wife snatched britneys wig lmao, but then i noticed my notifications from my wall were blank.. then the sim that got pressed asked her girl to get some, so they went to a random corner and started doing one of the new animations i don't remember the exact name of but that isn't important, really none of this is..., but anyways i then immediately noticed my sims booty cheeks were invisible, i was hoping it was just something wrong with that animation, but honestly wasn't believing it because of my notifications being blank.. and then i went to switch animations and most of the choice tabs were blank, so i had my sims stop what they were doing and continue else where with a different animation, for a moment i thought it was working then turned to see my sims cheeks were still invisible during the animation, invisible qussy being eaten?? im really upset and none of my choice tabs would load, also when id click on a sims emotions the descriptions were blank, also kept getting ine notification that wasnt blank "wickedwhims is sad :(" and itd direct me to the ww request an issue page, and so i knew what was wrong immediately, I either had doubled a file somehow, skipped one, got one that is either incompatible, out of date, or it just clashed with another in someway, or it was corrupt. So i spent awhile rearranging my mods file and transferring and retracting files back to downloads, I even took all the files i downloaded today out of my mods folder, restarting sims trying again and again and again, still the same, i got super upset and figured the only way to fix this was to either delete added cc in my mods folder or delete it all (not resource ess) and so i deleted 90% of it, leaving base packages, wicked whims and extreme violence. I decided to give up on switching, moving, rearranging, and deleting extra files so instead i deleted all extracted files instead of keeping them in downloads.... im really stressed out and theres nothing anyone can do to help me with that, i just hope i can get it all fixed tomorrow, i got really irritable and decided to head to bed, its 5:17am now.. i shoyld sleep tomorrow is a bad day probably because i have to get all 3000 million plushies off my bed because i have to changw my sheets and i dont feel comfortable putting my plushies on the floor or just getting my heart rate up. it sounds teally bad i know i sound bad but i donr want to do anyrhing i have to take a shower tomorrow which makes me feel disgusting and i feel each shower head hole spraying water on my head which feels like needles poking my braincells. ineed sleep its so late early late early late goodnight i hope i sonr have nightmare and i hope i dont sweat thst much i canr wahr ti get off my meds so i can be extra suicidal instead of having cold sweats everu night and waking up in layers of pools of sweat ka

i also am more willing to listen to what's been portrayed in rp, which is that quackity has consistently floated wilbur as tilin's likely father more than luzu (although again i'll say this is partly bc wilbur's been on more and luzu hasn't; i think if luzu were to log on more/at the same time as wilbur and quackity there would be far more mamma mia nonsense going on). you're right that there is no "bio dad" but thats how quackity has framed the pairing system and that's why i used that langauge, as i was trying to point out that luzu could've been tilin's chosen father rather than his assigned father.

if not for tallulah im also sure wilbur wouldve taken on more responsibility for tilin; because he feels he got his own kid through her he doesnt think tilin was his but thats not particularly relevant since, again, tallulah shouldnt exist according to the numbers.

i don't really think anything has been objective about this since again the tickets are broken for these four (including bad) in particular and at this point they're all running with the rp element rather than what they were assigned/what the rules mightve declared as the objective situation. to me, regardless of what the rules might say or what ticket luzu received (i am aware he also received an F ticket, but again, not super relevant considering everything else that's happened; wilbur also never received a ticket at all), the rp is what forms the story, and right now quackity is pretty much running with wilbur being tilin's dad. that could be him coping with tilin's loss by throwing it at who's in front of him to blame; i'm not saying tilin is definitively wilbur's kid, i'm just saying that as the story is playing out right now, that is how quackity is framing it. wilbur is refusing to consider it/has decided its not really relevant to him as he never got to know tilin anyway, so it's almost entirely on quackity to decide how his character takes it.

When s/o wakes up, she’d have really bad bed hair, like a lion’s mane

Vil would go in first thing and comb her hair, he loves doing so cause she had rlly rlly nice hair; its the gene she inherited from the beautiful Nemean Lion’s golden fur

Vil’s facial sessions become more therapeutic with her around, so he often makes her do facial with him

“It’d be a waste for a being as pretty as you, to not take care of your appearance,” he paused “well, you’re still not as beautiful as I am though,” he’d clear his throat and look away

He envies how she don’t get angry at all?? Like okay sis no wrinkles to worry about?

He absolutely loves her graceful demeanor in literally everything she does? Its so eye pleasing! He loves watching it almost as much as he loves looking at himself in the mirror

If s/o is about to send threats he’d say that its a waste of her beauty so he prevents her from doing so

When s/o first introduced herself she was definitely not what he’d imagine, he felt less intimidated but still,,,had troubles cause,,,communication

He’d try to avoid her at first but she really do be wanting to be friends with him, so he reluctantly just warmed up to her

But he loves how she doesn’t get into his space! She’s so considerate and understanding. She’s so gentle too, so it makes him feel more comfortable? Maybe?

Idia has a hard time leaving his room, but with s/o’s gentle words and voice, he’d eventually give in somehow

Also he has a strong urge to play with her lion ears cause,,,,they’re so cute,,,,

He knows that she would probably be a very, very scary person if she’s mad, ‘probably as strong as those OP boss charas’ he’d say to her, which she chuckled and poked the tip of his nose, saying that he’s exaggerating

“A descent of the Nemean Lion huh? But you’re oddly so cool headed, ah, not to be stereotypical, I just find it interesting,” he’d smile at s/o and nod his head

He appreciates how she never forgot to include him in things! Sometimes she’d also join for his strolls, he doesn’t mind it of course. It’s good company

S/o always mentioned how she’d prolly be offended if she kept on being forgotten like Malleus

“You? Offended? I doubt so,” he chuckled “I think you could handle the situation better than I could, you are well, a person full of patience,”

Malleus acknowledges s/o’s lineage and knows very well that she is strong, even if he is one of the top mages

Also gives s/o headpats, which, she loves very much

One time s/o scared away some people cause they were messing around with her too much, and Malleus found it adorable, ‘even she can get mad huh’ he’d think to himself with a smile
