You were going to do this! You were not going to back down. You were not a coward! What could happen? The worst thing he could say was no. Big thing! You knew how to take no as an answer... No you didn't.. You would most probably die of shame if he said no. He wouldn't right? No, he is much too kind to deny you of such simple thing. But what if you made him feel uncomfortable? You would rather chew off your own foot than make him do something that makes him uncomfortable or make him uncomfortable yourself. He would tell you if he didn't want it right? You were friends. Quite close ones too. God you were friends! Of course he would find it weird that you wanted to sleep in the same bed. You had nothing explisit in mind tho. You just wanted to sleep next to him. You had trouble sleeping these days and it was starting to affect your everyday life, You were more groggy, more irritable, your head was in the clouds and you couldn't fully concentrate on anything. You tried everything to fix your sleeping schedule but nothing really worked. To say that you were despterate would be an understatement.
For the past 2 weeks the only time you slept peacefully and didn't wake up feeling like shit was when you and Chan fell asleep watching tv. It was the best sleep you had in a while, you woke up feeling like a new person. You were hopeful that you wouldn't experience trouble sleeping like that ever again but sadly nothing had really changed.
You couldn't help but sigh when you saw that it was almost 3 am. You had to get up early too and you had to be on top too. You were going to do it!
You got up from the bed, but before leaving the room you turned back and headed to the mirror. After making sure you were decent at least fifteen times you finally left the room. If it was any other of your friends you wouldn't even thing twice before heading to them, but this was Channie, your channie, the guy you had been hopelessly in love with since forever, but also a guy who only saw you as a friend.
You've read countless times that whenever a person came to their crush with the excuse that they couldn't sleep and/ or had a nightmare(in your case both) their crush always welcomed them with open arms. And they always ended up together after sharing a bed. If there was a fanfiction god you prayed things would go well or you would bury yourself alive and at least that would solve your sleep issues.
You were surprised to see that the lights in his room were on. Was he still working? You had to scold him later, he promised that he wouldn't work until late and would actually try and sleep.
You softly knocked on the door, but there was no answer. After a few seconds you knocked again, but also no answer. Maybe he fell asleep you thought. Feeling bad waking him up you felt bad you turned back to return to your room.
To say that you almost had a heart attack when you saw a dark figure looming behind you would be a severe understantment. You even fell back on your butt. Chan's gasp of your name made you realize it was him, he even tried to catch you but couldn't hold onto you on time.
"Oh my god are you okay?" Chan crouched down next to you, he held your face and carefully examined you while you tried to catch your breathe.
"I think I saw god for a second." You gasped out after a few seconds of gasping dramatically. Chan rolled his eyes at you before asking "What were you doing in front of my room?"
You stumbled for a second trying to find a perfect answer. While staring into his eyes all your courage from earlier had disappeared, you felt embarrassed about what you wanted to ask him. Also the fact that he was only in his pyjama pants didn't help at all. Like you also needed to be distracted by his Greek God body! "I wanted to get water and saw that the lights in your room were on." You couldn't be more obvious you were lying but you still hoped he wouldn't pry. Chan looked at you sternly before sighing. "You couldn't sleep?" You wanted to deny but the way Chan was looking at you, you couldn't lie. You could only nod, feeling disappointed in yourself. Chan looked at you for a second before grabbing your hand and leading you into his bedroom.
"What are you doing?" You couldn't help but ask, when he literally just casually picked you up and put you in the middle of the bed like a pretty decoration on top of a cake. He only told you to stay put and then left the room. You were baffled. You stayed put and only waited for him who quickly returned couple of minutes later with your pillow and the plushie he won for you when you were at the arcade. He instructed to you to get comfortable under the covers and then left again. He took a bit longer this time, but in a minute or two he was back with the cup of tea. Literally how could you not love him? He was so sweet and gentle with you. He really was the most beautiful person to walk this earth both body and soul. You were so touched by this that you forgot all your bashfullness? You leaned in and kissed his cheek. And the bashful smile he gave you?! The butterflies in your stomach were having a french revoluiton.
After you drank your tea, Chan took the glass from you and put it on his nightstang. "Are you comfortable like this? I can go back in my room." You couldn't help but ask. You felt shy laying on his bed next to him. Chan rolled his eyes and got under the cover. You two were so close you could feel his body heat without even touching him.
"I was the one who bought you here so stop overthinking and go to sleep!" Chan grumbled before wrapping his hand around your waist and bringing you closer to his body. You were chest to chest now and your heart was beating so strongly you were worried he would feel it. You looked up at him with wide eyes. "Christopher Bang Chan! What is this behaviour? What did you do to my shy best friend?" Chan smiled, "when was I ever shy?" Now it was your turn to smile mischeviously, "you're right you always were a little shit." Chan pinched your side making you yelp, you couldn't help but laugh at his distaste. "You're a menace." His voice was low, making you shiver. "Learned it from the best." You quipped quickly.
"Brat."
"You love me."
Chan waited for a second before leaning in and kissing the tip of your nose before muttering, "You're right, I do."
You started at him with wide eyes, unable to say anything. Your cheeks felt really hot. "What's with the heart fluttering shit you do? Be carefull Christopher or I might fall for you. What are you going to say about that?" Not going to lie you were dying inside wanting to know what would Chan say. Chan opened one eye to look at you and then closed it. You thought that he would ignore you, he cradled you closer to his body. Your face was against the crook of his neck. You felt like you could melt. You felt so warm and secure,the smell of his shower gel and the musky scent of his body really soothed you, you could even feel his carotid pulse. It was comforting his pulse was almost as fast as yours. Maybe you were deluding yourself but what if he felt the same?
The sound of Chans voice bought you down to reality." I would say it's about time, I've been flirting with you for ages!" What the actual fuck? You immediately jumped up and looked at Chan with the most shocked face ever. He's being doing what now?
"You've been flirting with me?" You needed him to say it again. You needed the clarification!
Chan opened his eyes and leaned up, you tried to read his expression but you got nothing. "Yes? Since forever? I'm surprised you hadn't realized."
"You like me?" You couldn't believe your ears.
"Yes? Why are you so shocked?" He sounded genuinely confused.
"Because I thought you only saw me as a friend and well you do have a flirty personality." -You tried to explain, Chris sighed and fully leaned up. He looked at you for a second before putting his hand on your neck and pulling you towards him. You thought he was going to kiss you and your heart basically did a backflip on top of running 500 kilometers per hour, but instead of kissing you on lips he softly kissed your forehead. When you opened your eyes whitch you hadn't even realized you had closed, you saw that he was looking and you with the softest gaze ever. You couldn't put it to words but it was type of expression that even if you didn't like him you would fall for him head over heels without a doubt.
"First of all you're literally the hottest person ever with even better personality. I would be a fool to not fall in love with you. So trust me my flirting was genuine. Now the second, you always flirted back, you weren't being genuine?" His question bought you aback and you started stammering for an answer but you stopped when you heard him chucke. "Okay okay I'm just teasing. I know you were being sincere. And I'm also aware you have a crush on me. It's cute actually. " His eyes twinkled with mischief as he teased you. You didn't know if you wanted to hit him or kiss him sensless.
"I hate you so much sometimes." You couldn't help but groan. You were feeling beyond embarrassed, both because you knew that he liked you back and because he had known you liked him. What an asshole why did it take him this long to say anything? Chan leaned in and placed another peck on your cheek, making you sigh quietly. "Your raging crush on me says otherwise."
"Oh shut up!" You did smack him on the arm this time. Chan's cuckle filled the room and you couldn't help but also laugh. You felt like a lovesick teenager but you didn't really mind it. Chan's one hand was still on your neck rubbing the thumb mindlessly along your skin, his warm hand not failing to send shiver aftee shiver down your spine, while his other hand was on your waist keeping you close to him. He acted like the thought for a second before muttering "Good idea." And leaning towards you, your lips so close they slightly grazed each other with each breath.
"Can I kiss you?" God were you dreaming? You even pinched yourself and you were awake! Fanfiction God really did exist apparently. You would have to thank them later.
You nodded eagerly, making Chan's smile deepen. And he closed the distance. Chan, your lovely Channie, your best friend and closest companion, the guy you could trust with your life and your longtime crush was kissing you. And it felt beyond majestic. It was everything you had imagined and so much more! His lips were so soft, so warm and felt so nice against yours. Your whole body was like set ablaze and despite feeling so so many times today you felt like melting, like your bones were liquifying. Only he could make you feel that way. So confused and so hopelessly in love. You couldn't help but smile into the kiss, Chris mirrored it and soon you were full on chuckling between giving each other short pecks. You love how lighthearted and fun everything was with Chris but also very deep and meaningful and how he always made you feel so secure. Really, how could you not love him?
Much to your dismay after kissing each other for so long that your lips were already starting to buzz Chan decieed to lean back. You chased after his lips, you didn't care that your lips were buzzing, you felt like you could kiss him until your lips fell off. You felt like you had been deprived of him all your life and you felt greedy now once you got the taste of him.
Chan smiled and gave you a short peck. Then he brought you closed to his body and hugged you. "I really like you, heck I might even love you, this might sound cheesy and I know your menace butt is going to tease me after this but be mine?"
What a dork. You hugged him closer and kissed his neck. "I think I also love you too. And I will tease you about it most definitely, but yes, I will be yours." Chan smiled with his pretty dimples fully on display, he kissed your forehead and then helped you get comfortable on his bed. You felt so calm and peaceful despite your heart still running like crazy, you could feel the sleep approaching. Oh yeah you had insomnia, how funny.
A/N- I really hope you liked it, I will fix mistakes later my eyes are burning at this point. Feedback and reblogs are greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading❤️

synopsis. the kitchen can be many things. a refuge from the toils of everyday life. a workshop for the creation of exquisite tastes. an assemblage of conversation over collaboration.
but one thing is certain—a well-endeavored meal can warm the coldest of hearts.
𝐃𝐀𝐙𝐀𝐈 arrived home late one evening, tromping through the doorway with the confidence only a drunken man could muster. It had been one of those nights, ones in which he was all too aware of the hollowness of his own heart. One of those days where everything was too loud, the ones where he picked up every minuscule detail, whether he wanted to or not. So, he had taken to a drink or two to fill a void, only to dip into another—before he knew it, the room was spinning, and he found himself kicked out of the bar.
But he still had you to return to, so he gathered any soberness left within him and clambered to place his trench coat and shoes in the spots you had set out for them. He was glad you didn't hear him walk in. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been granted the opportunity to take in the view. You pranced around the kitchen, a lifted twirl in your heel as you stirred ingredients in a saucepan, the domestic mess of powders against your skin.
You were all his. The reason he had a home to return to. His sanctuary from his own mind. He often fretted—though he pretended not to—about the idea of you being taken away from him, a fact that he had come to accept as his reality. But in these simple moments, he allowed himself to indulge in the fantasy that you encompassed for a moment longer.
His arms fit snug around your waist, his head like a puzzle piece against the curve of your shoulder. "Is that for me?"
You hummed, pressing a peck on his cheek as you leaned into him.
"You'll always have a meal to return home to, Osamu."
Yeah. He'd indulge for just a little longer.
𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐔𝐘𝐀 did not expect to pass out. He had returned home from a weeks-long mission overseas, anxiously awaiting the moment you reunited and ran into his arms—only for him to arrive early to an empty home. You were at work, and it wasn't his fault the couch clung to him like a vice! For a moment, he thought he had been dreaming of the fresh smell of savory pasta sauce and spices.
Wait. He can't dream.
He cracked open his eyes, his vision steadily straightening out, and trudged into the kitchen with a befuddled pout, his sight narrowing in on exactly what you had been up to.
"Babe."
"Chuuya!" you yelled, almost losing your grip on your spoon before you managed to catch it, clutching it close to your chest as you twisted the knob on the stove to place the heat at a simmer. "You scared me!"
His arms crossed as he leaned on the doorway. "What're you doing cooking in here by yourself?" he asked sternly, scanning the contents of the pot along with your face. If you didn't know any better, you'd assume he was mad. But you did know better, catching onto the subtle tilt of his brow, narrowed in simultaneous amusement and disappointment. Cooking was often a partnered endeavor.
You couldn't resist laughter, cupping his cheek as if comforting an upset child. "You've had a long week, and you looked so peaceful lying there. I couldn't bring myself to disturb you."
He would've been quick to argue—you could wake him anytime, no matter the circumstance—but a thought overwhelmed him and kept his mouth at bay. You had done something for him, not with anything to gain, but simply because you cared. He was used to it happening the other way around, but this. . .this felt nice.
So, he relented, his ginger locks tickling your skin as he tucked his face into your neck with a sigh. "Thank you, baby."
𝐅𝐘𝐎𝐃𝐎𝐑 had been busy preparing the next phase of his plans, though you supposed he was always busy—too busy to take care of his own basic needs, that was for sure. He was always sorting through different data, exploring multiple angles to achieve his goals.
With the many tasks flooding his brain, he hardly had time to abandon his screens. The skin of his thumb had worn from his subconscious biting habit as he looked over another spreadsheet of banking information, his hands about to slide over the keys yet again.
The scent of stroganoff stirred him from his trance. His eyes shifted to find a steaming plate of the delectable dish sitting next to him on the desk. And he finally registered the firm hand propped against his shoulder, with you looking upon him from above with a sweet but knowing smile.
"Eat."
He wouldn't have customarily taken kindly to such a harsh demand, but he bent to the stern look of your gaze, one that hid behind it a level of care he ravenously craved. You worried for him, not in the same fashion as his so-called "friends," but with the genuine desire to see him thrive, no matter the circumstance.
So, the demon allowed himself a momentary reprieve, kissing a smile into your hand before taking a bite of the dish.
"Delicious, as always, моя милая."
𝐍𝐈𝐊𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐈 had practically burst through the door, prepared to recount the travesties and trials of his day. That was until he caught onto the unmistakable scent of savory pirozhki filling. He followed his nose like a bloodhound, the smell creating a distinct path into the kitchen, where you stood, unaware of the man behind you as you mixed spices into a pan.
"What'cha cooking, dove?" His breath bristled against your ear as he sprung up next to you, using his ability with a shit-eating grin. Your expression mirrored his own, used to the stint of your lover's sudden appearances.
"I found some old Ukrainian recipes online and wanted to try them out." You held out a spoon, and he bit into the filling without a second thought—a mistake. He clutched his throat as his eyes watered, realizing it was too hot for consumption far too late. He finally managed to choke it down, releasing a loud whew!
"Trying to kill me so soon! How cruel!" he exclaimed.
Your laughter roared throughout your home, a shaking hand rubbing his back as you wiped tears from your eyes with the other. "Is it good?"
He brought a finger up to stroke his non-existent beard, humming a quick tune. "Hmm, perhaps a cup of chili powder."
"Коля," you deadpanned. "That's too much."
He sighed, a pout settled on his lips, but you caught the hand sneaking into the interior of his overcoat, snatching his wrist before he poured something irreversible into your dish. He cackled, attempting to pull away as you chased him around the kitchen island.
For a moment, it felt as if you were the only two people in the world—free of restraint. He could feel the bonds tied around him loosen. He could reach out, taste that sensation of freedom for himself. A freedom he had always found in you.
𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐌𝐀 had arrived back to his section of the Sky Casino earlier than he expected, having a strange lack of paperwork. But he simply decided to take it as a sign that he had been doing good work, and ignored the anxious feelings that always sprung from not having anything to do.
"I'm home—!" he called, but was stopped in the entryway by a sweet aroma. It was intoxicating, and he couldn't resist the temptation to lurk into the kitchen.
"Welcome home, honey!" you called back, your voice echoing down the hallway. He stripped himself of his coat, leaving it folded on one of the benches before he trekked across the threshold, a curious shift in his furrowed brow.
You were baking cookies, fluffy chocolate-chip cookies. He couldn't resist the smile on his face, even if he wanted to, nor could he ignore the bubbling warmth in his heart. But he couldn't help his confusion.
"Cookies?" he asked, dipping his finger into a batch of dough before he popped it into his mouth. "What's the occasion?"
You swiped at him with a flour-coated hand before dusting the rest of it off on a towel. "You've been busy lately, so I wanted to make you something sweet," you stated as if it were the simplest thing. But those few simple words took him aback.
You cooked for him. No one had ever done that before, not without being an employee or attempting to manipulate him—or both. And in a matter of seconds, only enough to let in a sweep of hot air from the oven to warm his skin, he realized something that had long remained empty had been filled. He felt whole.
"Sigma!" you exclaimed, and he realized that he had tears streaming down his face. The look of concern drawn through your strained lips, your furrowed brow, and your shifting eyes only further set in his new reality—he had his family. He had found his home.
"I'm okay, love. Just. . .thank you."
моя милая = my dear коля = kolya

Right Person, Wrong Time
POV: You break playboy!Bucky’s heart
Pairing: Bi!Bucky Barnes x Bestfriend!Reader
Part two: Perfect Timing
Warnings: angst, not beta’d, mediocre writing
A/N: This is heavily inspired by this sound on tik tok and one of my favorite scenes in a Disney channel show I used to watch LOL.
~~~~
If there is something about life, you like things to be simple.
You flourished when you had a consistent and simple routine. Where others feel bored with things being the same everyday, mundaneness gives you a certain type of peace you never wanted to give up.
Bucky Barnes was a part of your routine. Every day after work, you and Bucky would run at the park. Sometimes it was one mile, other days it was five.
Your workout routine with Bucky was never stale. Warm up, run, (Bucky insists that he always runs behind you for whatever protective reason he has. And looking at your ass is a great motivator, not that you know the latter). Then you would have dinner together, either one of you would cook or you would go out to eat.
The sound of you and Bucky’s steps echoed against the pavement. Sweat clouded your vision and your lungs were begging for a respite but you were halfway to your checkpoint point. You picked up the pace, challenging him to keep up from behind.
Bucky caught up to you and gestured to your foot, “ Your shoe is untied, angel,” he panted out.
You furrowed your eyebrows and glanced at your feet, breaking your stride. “ Well, I guess we can take a break now,” Bucky said as he came to a stop.
You smiled, “ You freaking liar!”
Bucky holds up his hands as if he was innocent. “ Don’t hate me just because you stopped, beautiful.”
You rolled your eyes and leaned against the rails of a bridge you so conveniently stopped at.
“ What do you wanna do for dinner?”, you asked Bucky, wiping the sweat from your forehead.
“Anything you want, I want, angel.”
You asked him everytime and every time he gave the same response. He always wants what you want. “ Then let’s get Peruvian food, I could kill for lomo right now.”
Bucky chuckled to himself, like he had something to say. “ Do you not want lomo, Buck?”
“ That’s fine, angel, just..” he trailed off. “ At least this dinner won’t have a side of tension.”
Bucky alluded to a dinner you had with your other friend Steve Rogers, and his significant other, Lililian. Steve isn't the one to argue in public, but his girlfriend kept picking fights. You and Bucky would attempt to dissolve the tense atmosphere, but it always seemed to thicken again.
“ Yeah, I couldn't imagine going through all the drama they’re going through. Steve looked like he wanted to explode,” you recalled.
He nodded his head. “ I think Steve needs someone less…in your face, you know?”
“Elaborate.”
“ Steve has a … strong personality, angel. He needs someone to soothe rather than excite.”
“So what, he needs someone to tame his inner alpha?,” you quipped.
Bucky chuckled and looked at you. After a pause, he said, " You know, we wouldn't be like that.”
You raisd an eyebrow, standing up straight, “ Like what?”
“ Complicated. If we were together, it would just be me and you, plus together.”
Your stomach fluttered. The notion of dating Bucky wasn't completely foreign to you. Bucky was an attractive person, inside and out. It was something about the way he looks at someone, the way he looked at you, that you knew you could trust him with the darkest parts of yourself. His huge fucking arms were always open if you needed a hug, and his beautiful blue eyes were always on you.
But if Bucky Barnes was anything, he was a player. He knew how to play a woman ( or man) like a finely tuned instrument, and make them melt into his hands.
Bucky Barnes didn’t date. Bucky Barnes didn’t settle down. He thrived in spontaneity.
You shook your head, “ We’re friends, Jamie.”
“ But I want more. I want more of you, angel. You’re the first person on my mind when I wake up, and the last thing before I go to bed. I can’t go a day without you. Would it really be that much of a difference if we were together?”
He spoke with so much conviction that you almost trusted him.
“ Bucky , ever since I met you, you’ve always been a player,” you explained. “ We have the perfect relationship and I don't wanna lose you just because you wanna try something new.”
You could have slapped him and Bucky still wouldn't have looked so shocked. His expression makes your heart drop into your stomach.
“ What the hell is that supposed to mean?” he countered.
“ You get bored easily,” you crossed your arms. “ If we started dating you would get bored of me, then we would break up and our relationship would never be the same.”
“ We’re friends, Bucky,” you reiterated. “ You can have as many boyfriends and girlfriends you want, and we can still be best friends.”
Usually you could tell what mood Bucky was in. He had a “ I’m Hangry” glare and a “ I’m tired of this bullshit “ glare. You couldn't make out what he was feeling.
“ I don't feel like Peruvian food today,” he uttered “ Let me walk you to your car.”
“Are we good, Jamie?”
“ We’re good, (Y/N).
He didn't call you angel, or beautiful, or any of the other pet names he would call you. Bucky didn't give you a kiss on the cheek and tell you to drive safe once you got in your car. The feeling of hurting him weighed heavy on your chest, but the relief of speaking your truth was liberating.
Maybe you made a mistake, telling Bucky you didn't trust him with your heart.
No, it’s for the better.
THE CHOICES WE MAKE - PART 2 (AZRIEL X READER)
Summary : Things escalate as you hastily try to find a solution.
Warnings : Swearing
PART- 1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Vallahan council chambers)
"I've given you one duty, Y/N. Just ONE." your king seethed at you as you stood in front of him with your head bowed. "How could you be so ...useless?" The words sent a sharp pain through you, but you ignored it. Later, you'd let it hurt you. "The border is nothing more but rot as far as the eye can see. What are you going to tell those who've lost their homes?"
You stood in silence, head hung in shame, taking the verbal blows. Pathetic. That's how you felt.
"Get out. I'll deal with you after I've dealt with this." You left obediently, not letting him see the tears lining your eyes. People had lost their lives because of your inability to do your job. Silence echoed in your mind as you tried to think of something...anything.
There was only one thing left to do.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(The River House, Velaris)
"I don't care about the cost. I need the book, Rhys. PLEASE"." you almost begged. You could see the conflict in his eyes. He was hiding something, you were sure about it.
"Y/N..." taking in a deep breath, he blurted out "it's a trap. Koschei, he...wants the book. He's trying to lure us."
You let the words sink in, understanding dawning upon you. "We're just supposed to watch people die then?" He didn't respond, choosing to look away.
"W-we'll prepare for it. We'll set up a legion to stop---"
"He's too strong. A legion won't be able to stop him. I didn't want to say this Y/N...but the lives of a few over the lives of many is a tough decision I have to make."
A beat of silence passed, the words sinking in. Your vision turned red, the words spewing out of you like wildfire "A TOUGH DECISION YOU HAVE TO MAKE?! I have blood on my fucking hands, Rhysand! I stood and watched as my people were fucking slaughtered. DO THEY NOT DESERVE TO FUCKING LIVE?!?!"
He almost flinched as you raised you tone. You didn't feel guilt though. You felt pure undiluted anger coursing through your veins at the entire situation. "The most powerful high lord cant manage to save a couple of people ?! Fucking pathetic. You sit here in your nice little city watching over your people that aren't fucking aware of anything, those shit---"
"THAT IS ENOUGH." Rhysand roared, a pulse of his power rushing through the room. It washed over you, momentarily stunning you into silence. "Don't you dare bring my people into this. They don't deserve your anger."
The door to Rhysand's office burst open revealing Azriel, Nesta and Cassian.
"What's going on?" Azriel asked, eyes flitting between you and Rhys.
"Your darling brother just told me to stand by and watch my people die." you sneered.
"Y/N, we'll figure out another---" Rhys started.
You raised a hand to silence him. "I know where your loyalties lie Rhysand. If it were the people of Velaris, you wouldn't have thought twice."
"You're right." Nesta spoke up, eyes brimming with a challenge. "Then why are you still here?"
"Ness!" Cassian admonished her, which she ignored.
"Watch your fucking mouth." you said flatly to her turning your gaze back to Rhysand. "You told me you'd always be there no matter what. I see there was a limit to it."
"Y/N, please." Azriel followed you out the door, pushing past Cassian. "Just calm down and listen.."
You whipped towards him , anger flaring again "Calm down?! Do you know what I've been through the past few days Azriel? Everyday I wake up to a list of dead fae. They died because I didn't do anything. They died because I had a solution and I couldn't carry it out because your shithead of a high lord and your fucking sister in law would not let me. So no, Azriel, I will not calm down."
"Hey...hey.." he stepped closer to you cupping your face in his hands. His warmth and scent did nothing to calm you but you let him speak. "I'm sorry. I will never stop asking for your forgiveness for this moment but I need you to keep a clear head. I promise I'll help you out. We'll find another way okay? If not, I'll speak to Rhys again. He'll understand."
"Just...leave me alone. I don't need false promises." you walked away from him not paying attention to the hurt splashed across his face.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Your private chambers, Vallahan)
"It's a bargain." The sting of the bargain across your skin filled with you hope once again. You'd found a solution.
"I hope you won't go back on your word Lady Y/N." the male seated across you spoke, a tinge of suspicion in his voice.
"I couldn't even if I wanted to." you wiped the blood on your palm with a wet cloth and traced a finger along the cut across you palm.
"Very well." he stood up "you have a week to fulfill your side of the bargain."
"You have a day." you say flatly, not wanting to extend the conversation any further.
A dark chuckle echoed through the chambers, the fire casting eerie shadow across the walls. "It shall be done."
Footsteps walked away from you, each one in sync with your thudding heart. It had to be done. You had no choice. You told yourself repeatedly.
"Oh and Y/N...." you turned to face him at the sudden change in his tone. "when you're done breaking the shadowsingers heart, come find me. Your fire is best suited for the Autumn court."
You almost scoffed at his offer but instead chose to stay neutral.
"Goodnight, Eris."
He gave you a mocking bow and left the chambers, his red hair glinting in the firelight.
I'm Sorry, I Had to Go .
pairing: Peter Ballard x Fem!reader
summary; Reader can't take the insanity Hawkins Lab gives her anymore and decides to escape with Eleven in the middle of the night, leaving Peter unknowingly behind.
warnings; descriptions of hatred, tears, fear/anxiety, heartbreak.
a/n; suprise Peter angst !!!! :D (there's not a happy ending.)
--×♥︎×--
The circles under your eyes made you feel sluggish, and braille as if you were weak, or thin, almost in a way were you were invisible.
Your body was swelling, and your feet felt like they were blistering from the assigned heels you were forced to have on your feet everyday.
This job, this place, it felt as though it were a fucking nightmare.
Living in constant anxiety and paranoia was practically not even living anymore. it felt like you were watching someone else live, like you were there anymore within yourself.
The fucking children that were preferably to be announced as "subjects" under the name of Martin Brenner were a pain in the ass.
Especially number 002. God was he a fucking snob. You hated him the most, everytime you'd see him even out of your peripheral vision you wanted to take out the threads from his skin until his bones were embarrassed of themselves.
There was only one kid who didn't seem to always have their foot directing itself up your asshole. And that was 011. She was quiet, and kind. She never really asked of anything, and you'd suspected she might've had an anxiety issue.
Though it wouldn't have mattered, because in this workplace no one cares for anyone else. Not even if someone's fucking dead.
Feelings aren't allowed in Hawkins National Labrotories, and they especially are not meant to be shown by any orderly.
You vigorously rubbed your eyes to wake yourself more even if it would've done practically nothing. You rushed yourself in a heap of panic to find some regular looking clothing for a woman in 1979.
You couldn't stand it any longer, if you stayed here for even another day it felt as though you'd lose your sanity, if it weren't already unrecognizablely lost.
There was a short sleeved soft pink shirt that was button up, it would've had to do for the moment.
And there were also some tan khakis you were able to find, it seemed like one of the nurses outfits, though you didn't care how it ended up in your bedroom.
You were thankful they were there in the first place.
"Miss Y/n?" A small voice croaked into your dull excuse of a bedroom. You whipped yourself around in your new clothing and saw 011.
Salty pools of tears dripped down from her waterline and made her coco eyes red and soggy.
You walked over to her, gently pulling on her hand to bring her inside your room and closed the metal door as quietly as you could behind her.
"What's wrong sweetheart?" Your voice was also small, and extremely quiet.
"bad.. dream.." her voice cracked and shook, and it made your heart sink for her, she didn't deserve to grow up in a facility such as this one.
"It was only a dream Eleven, there's nothing to be scared of, okay?" You rubbed her shoulders lightly to help ease her nerves.
"are.. you, going?" She said exaiming your outfit, she seemed like she was confused, really confused, which was understandable considering she's only around 8 years old.
"..yes, do you want.. to come with me?" You felt hesitant about asking her to come along with you, but she was so young and traumatized enough from everything that went on within these walls.
"against the rules.." She looked down, she seemed scared, but there was a look in her face that told you she wanted to come too.
"I promise I'll keep you safe, no matter what, okay?" She looked up and nodded as you smiled softly and wiped away her warm tears.
"what about.. peter..?"
Peter.
He didn't even come into your mind, He always hinted to you about escaping one day, and it was reliving to know someone else hated this building as much as you did, but you'd never thought he was serious before.
"He'll.. catch up, okay? he'll be with us too at some point.." Your Heart felt itself cracking open at your words, you knew you loved Peter from the moment he started speaking to you, he was always welcoming with open arms and ears. He listen to you talk about your interests, how much you hated it here, and even a little about your past.
But the more you thought about how you'd be leaving him behind, the more you realized you didn't know that much about him.
Would he escape too? if he would, would he even come looking for you and Eleven? or would he just completely move on?
Your Heart wanted you to stay for Peter, but you knew better than to stay for him as much as you now wanted too. If you ever wanted a chance at successfully escaping, you had to take that chance now, while the gaurds were asleep and there were only about 4 hall monitors out, but this building was huge and they could've been anywhere.
"are we leaving.. now?" She sounded nervous now, and you hesitantly nodded, taking her out of your room, holding her hand the entire time to find your way out, down inside the lower, less populated parts of Hawkins Lab.
And before you knew it, you and Eleven were running through the woods without looking back, as tears streamed down your face from breaking your own heart.
12:35 AM
Idk what prompted me to write this. But I do remember reading a story where a woman found a lover from her past life, but it didn't last---it was closure. Also, I had a dream about a guy I didn't know. We were talking in my old bedroom and then he asked me what year it was so I told him. He then told what year he was from and I think he said a year centuries away. It was strange, but kinda cool? Anyway I'm writing this on my phone. What is it about the notes app that makes me want to write entire novels lmao.
Summary: Unfinished business is meant for the dead, right? When Naminé Hoshida begins dreaming of a mysterious boy with a sad smile, she thinks nothing of it until she runs into him at a bonfire. The meeting leads to an onslaught of memories that overwhelm her and Naminé isn't sure if her feelings for the boy are the memories talking or her attraction alone. If she pursues him will it lead to love or will it lead to closure and ultimately, goodbye? AU. Reincarnation. RokuNami.
There's a boy in my dreams
His golden skin seems familiar
We don't touch, not once
But we talk and talk
He asks me what year it is
I tell him
He looks confused, so I ask him what year it is for him
He tells me
The year is different
Significantly different from mine
I remember waking up
And feeling as if my heart was shattering into tiny glass pieces
Maybe those pieces could be turned back into sand
And then I could rewind time
Like clockwork
--‐----
----
Naminé Hoshida's eyes drooped lower and lower every passing second. This wouldn't be much of a problem if (A) she was not seated in the front row, (B) in the middle of a class lecture on the punnett square, and (C) about to drop dead.
From sleep, of course.
Naminé wasn't dying or anything.
Or least she hoped she wasn't.
Her vision grew hazier as the white walls and ugly motivational posters and lame science memes blended in with Mr. Highwind plain shirt and jeans. He was a strange man with cropped blond hair and blue eyes and he always wore the same variant of outfits to school everyday. Naminé wondered if he ever played fashion games despite his lack of style. Did he ragequit if a client didn't like the outfit he put together for them? It was a strange thought that flit through her sleep addled mind, but it kept her awake.
She caught a whiff of Mr. Highwind's signature scent---black coffee and cigarette smoke---as he lumbered over to a poor kid trying to inconspicuously eat their way through a bag of beef jerky. It smelled awful; both the mixture of smoke and coffee and the off-brand snack.
A series of giggles erupted from different corners of the room and a collective "oo" resounded off the walls as if they were back in 1st grade. Naminé’s eyes shifted to the window. Spring flourished, sakura blossoms swirling about in the warm breeze.
Destiny Islands was known for its tropical weather and assortment of strange fruit, but most tourists overlooked the sakura trees. The story of the paopu seemed much more romantic than trees that could be found in different towns. Still, a stroll with sakura blossoms falling to the ground on a beautiful spring day sounded like paradise.
A smile found its way to Naminé’s lips. This was already supposed to be paradise.
Sleep slipped into her body once more.
"Don't eat jerky in my class now!" Cid bellowed from the back of the room.
A jolt ran through Naminé. If it weren't for the yell, she was certain her papers wouldn't have gone floating to the linoleum floor. Abashedly, she scrambled to gather her doodles and drawings up before anyone could get a good look at her art.
Really, she chided herself, I need to invest in
a sketchbook.
Good fortune saved Naminé that day as all her fellow classmates were far more invested in the throwdown between the beef jerky kid and Mr. Highwind.
She shuffled through the lined papers before reaching the end. Hidden beneath her numerous doodles was a boy drawn out on proper sketching paper.
He looked golden---hair, skin, demeanor. If she could use one person to describe the sunset, it would be him. She couldn't leave him in black and white and so he became an array of colors amongst her other pictures. Stacks of doodling paper engulfed her drawing before she meticulously placed everything back in her folder.
She ran a finger across the paopu sticker placed in the center of her baby blue folder. Part of her debated on whether or not to add more stickers just as Mr. Highwind and the kid went out the door and to the principal's office. Naminé didn't think it was that serious an offense, but Mr. Highwind was, well, Mr. Highwind.
It was another typical Friday at Destiny High.
"You guys going to the bonfire tonight?" Kairi Sakamoto flipped her silky red hair, violet eyes brimming with mirth as she talked to her posse.
They were all pretty. Too pretty. Naminé felt a knot settle its way into her stomach as she caught sight of their laughing faces a few seats away from her. Xion Sato---captain of the girls volleyball team and bassist in her own band. Selphie Tilmitt---resident gossip and casual newspaper editor. Olette Hillbrooke---designated overachiever and president of the student council. Lastly, Kairi Tanaka---ringleader of the elite and first chair violinist.
"Of course! Do you think he'll notice me?" Selphie prattled on about her "secret crush" but Naminé was certain she had a crush on any half-decent looking guy within a 12-meter radius.
"I can't wait for the s'mores and paopu juice. And I'm sure he'll notice you in your new dress, Sel." Naminé saw Olette from the corner of her eye, skimming through her color-coded notes.
"And I'm ready for the chaos. Guess who's coming." A mischievous grin spread across Xion's face.
"No," Kairi gasped. "You're joking."
"I'm not. Pinky promise."
The four girls squealed.
"You gotta keep us filled in, Xi," Selphie said, popping a piece of gum into her mouth. "I'm part of the newspaper y'know. And," she added, leaning in close, "I'm thinking of starting my own blog."
Naminé, for what it was worth, had great hearing and knew how to look at people without them knowing. It was an essential skill for people-watching.
The girls continued to talk, this and that about makeup, and oh did you hear the latest drama? She's didn't deserve what happened. He's definitely cute. Stuff like that.
Class ended without Mr. Highwind returning and thankfully, it was 7th period.
Naminé was out the door in seconds.
If it weren't for what happened next, her life would have taken a completely different course. She knew that with certainty.
"Hey." Seifer Almasy was leaning against her locker, a smirk residing on his arrogant face. He towered over her before leaning in to say, "Wanna come over to my place? I heard girls like you are pretty wild in---"
"Seifer," Selphie said saccharinely, "do I need to teach you this lesson again, because I have my nunchucks riiiiggghhhttt here." She patted her sunshine yellow backpack, embroidered flowers stitched on.
How the hell did Selphie Tilmitt smuggle a weapon onto school property?
Also, was that really the one thing she should be worrying about right now?
A pair of hands pulled her back. It wasn't until they were in front of her that she realized it was Olette and Kairi. Xion stood next to Selphie, her hands concealing what Naminé presumed to be another weapon.
"Y'know girls might actually fall at your feet if you weren't a moronic asshole barely passing his classes." Kairi's hands were on her hips.
"Ohh, I'm so scared. What are a bunch of puny girls gonna do to me?"
"Want another scar for that face of yours?" Xion asked. Her voice grew low and Naminé swore Seifer started to sweat.
"We have enough evidence to get you kicked out of school. Then you can start your long and prosperous career of living off of Mommy and Daddy." She heard the smile in Olette's voice.
It wasn't long before Seifer was storming off to who-knows-where.
"Hey, you okay? It's Naminé, right?" Kairi smiled. Four pairs or eyes were on her and Naminé wasn't sure how to react so she nodded.
"Yeah."
"I always see you drawing in class. And your notes always look so well-organized and cute," Olette said. "We're sorry about Seifer. He's such a pig. Honestly, I don't know what happened. He wasn't always like this."
"Yep, hopefully he doesn't show his face at the party tonight." Selphie smiled as if she hadn't just threatened a boy with her nunchuks. "Oh! Are you coming to the bonfire?"
The only word that left Naminé's mouth was, "Huh?"
"Yeah, you should come. It's a lot of fun," Xion replied, a gleam in her eyes. "We could help you pick out an outfit and then head out."
It was all a daze after that. She found herself in a light blue summer dress paired with the sandals she always wore on nice days, but then again, most days were nice on Destiny Islands. The dress was ... something else.
Cute, yes, but she wasn't quite comfortable with the amount of skin it showed, which, to be fair, wasn't a lot.
Naminé crossed her arms in attempt to cover herself more. Something about wearing even slightly revealing clothes in public resulted in heightened heart palpitations and burning cheeks. She could blame it on the setting sun or the weather drop or even the fact that she forgot to bring a jacket. (Oh, how she regretted leaving her jacket at home.)
The throngs of drunken teens reminded her why she never went to parties. Not that she was ever invited to any. Too many people, too much noise, too much drama. Or maybe she hated parties because she never quite fit in with any group and usually found herself in the corner, too afraid to talk to anyone or ignored by everyone when she tried to contribute to the conversation.
The girls surrounded her in a feeble attempt to make her feel included. It didn't work.
Then, she saw him, golden skin and all.
When their eyes met---a spark, a flicker, something, shot through her. He smiled.
Familiarity almost had her in tears.
Selphie nudged her arm and wiggled her eyebrows. "Someone catch your eye?"
"Huh?" Naminé's cheeks were stained red as she attempted to form an intelligent and articulate response, neither of which came to her. "He, uh, just looks familiar. That's all."
"Y'know, usually guys say that when they're hitting on a girl. Not the other way around," Kairi chimed in.
"He's coming this way," Olette whispered.
Xion started making kissy noises to Naminé’s dismay. Really, they should be more mature than this. The girls fell back. Probably to go watch them from afar in one of the bushes or something.
"Hey, I'm Roxas."
𝓡𝓮𝓺𝓾𝓮𝓼𝓽 : who do u think is most likely to cheat on u in haikyu? U can pick top 3 because I know the list might be long.i just want to feel sad
𝓟𝓪𝓲𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 : Atsumu x Reader - Oikawa x Reader - Suna x Reader
𝓦𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼 : Cheating - Angst - A splash of Nsfw
𝓐𝓾𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓻𝓼 𝓝𝓸𝓽𝓮 : I did these late at night so there might be some errors. I genuinely see all three of these boys cheating which is why i picked them and i tried to capture them as best i could. I just dont see Atsumu being a man whore just because he knows he's attractive. Anyway I hope that these make you feel all kinds of sad babe xoxo
Miya Atsumu is very likely to cheat, its not that he wants to, it just kinda happens when he's away from home. He misses you and sometimes he has one too many drinks and everything spirals out of control… its not an excuse and he knows this. He wants to feel you, to have your perfect pussy milk his cock… his vision is blurry, his words tripping on his tongue, is that you over there in the corner of the room, sure looks like you...
It breaks his heart when he wakes up next to some nobody whore that threw themselves at him the second he walked up to her… he had to work to get you- you weren't like these pathetic girls… so why does it keep happening? Is he really that needy? Abusive and a tyrant… was Samu right about him?
No thats not it, he fucking misses you… he doesn't want anyone else. Holding his head sitting on the edge of the bed in the hotel room, Atsumu clenches his teeth… why can't you just be here? You're his rock that keeps him grounded… fuck.
Its not just his teeth clenched the last time it happens, he can't help but to shed a tear, why is he doing this to you??
His head hangs low, his hair covering his face so you can't see the waterworks getting ready. He isn't upset you caught him, he's upset at himself for hurting you, for knowing he's the reason you're about to walk away from him…
Oikawa Toru is the most likely. He craves attention and he honestly was made for attention.
He's tall, athletic, handsome, pretty, sculpted, and just too perfect to look at. That's all the girls see when glancing his way, and when they cling to him at parties his heart can't help but to skip a beat or two.
Oikawa helps guide the two new blondes into a secluded room away from his team and everyone else. He's ready to give these two a test run. That's all he wants, nothing serious, after this one time use he'll be done and nothing will ever happen again… right? Maybe.
He does travel a lot. He has needs… So you wouldn't mind, right? You aren't here to take care of his needs, right? Whats the harm, right?
He tells himself that every time, until finally one test run flies to Japan to tell him the news… Only she finds you answering his door.
Who is this? You ask yourself.
She knows who you are though, she saw you on Oikawa's lock screen, his arm draped around your neck in the photo…
With a devilish grin she doesn't give a shit, and she tells you how she's pregnant with his child.
Slamming the door in her face you turn to find a scowling Kawa, he's upset she's here, upset that you're about to pack and leave him… him, Oikawa Toru, the man everyone wants, right? You'd never leave him over this, right? He's upset that he's about to lose you but he's more upset that he got caught…
Suna Rintaro does it simply to destroy the relationship… He feels you're too good for him, and that if he fucks it up then at least there is a good reason for you wanting to leave him.
What he doesn't realize is how much you actually really do love him. In your eyes he's the perfect guy, calm, collected, a smart ass when need be, playful, and quiet unlike the loud mouth on his team, Atsumu.
You never planed on leaving him, you wanted to always be his number one fan and pillar...
Suna loves how you look at him with so much love everyday, peck his cheek before he goes to practice… it warms his soul and spreads a small smile on his face.
So why is he letting his science partner straddle him on his bed… the bed you were just laying in last night… the bed where he lost his virginity to you on…
Oh right, he knows you'll leave him eventually for someone better. Someone who isn't on their phone as much as he is. Someone who can give you the world and all the attention.
You'll probably leave him soon actually, because he see's the way Atsumu looks at you… see's how you look at him… Hes a much better fit for you, strong, outgoing, loud, attractive… he'll be successful and give you a good life.
Suna Rintaro has to force his own climax as his science partner rides him, he doesn't even really know her name… and she's nothing like you… she's erratic and…. Damn this sucks…
It happens the next two times she comes over to "work on their project"... He's genuinely surprised you haven't ended things yet, didn't you notice the scratch on his chest? Or are you playing games with him… Maybe you and Atsumu are working on your own school project…
That vivid image dissipates in seconds as soon as he hears his bedroom door open and hears your frail voice say his name, "R-Rin?"
Suna's chest stings, he wants to grab it but the girl atop of him is keeping him from doing so… Then again, you were just coming over here to end things with him anyway, to laugh at him and express how much better Atsumu was, weren't you?
Thrusting his hips upward into the girl, he gives you a full display as to why you deserve someone better than him.
With his own insecurities consuming him, you hastily scramble out of his house in tears… dropping his favorite kind of gummies on the way…
Its not until after the girl leaves Suna see's the gummy bag on the floor… you weren't here to end things with him after all...
The Blight Chronicles: Odalia & Alador
New series!!!
Cover art used with the permission of the very talented artists Yukifrill and Lencellychan on Twitter and Instagram
Prologue: Before They Met
Alador
Every day started the same. He would wake up on his desk after falling asleep working on a project. Most of the time it was still dark out so he would just continue working as soon as he woke up but every now and then he would get up and get himself some food.
He always made sure to buy foods that did not need to be cooked and had a long shelf life. This way he could buy in bulk, not waste time cooking, plus these foods were also cheaper which meant he had more money to spend on materials. It was very efficient.
He would spend mornings working on his projects until it was time for him to leave for school. There was a time when he would only shower when he remembered to or when he found it to be extremely necessary. So as to not waste time. This was until Principal Bump started waiting for him in the front of the school. He gave him an ultimatum he either started showering everyday or he would be forced to contact his father. The last thing Alador wanted was for his father to be involved so now he set up an alarm which worked in reminding him most days. Principal Bump found this acceptable.
Alador was an only child who lived with his father although he did not get to see him much. Due to his job he was hardly ever home and when he was home he would spend the day sleeping and the nights out. In all honesty it was hard for Alador to remember what his father looked like. If it wasn’t for one small family portrait in the living room Alador didn’t think he would be able to recognize his father when he did see him.
It had been this way for as long as he could remember; he didn't remember his mother much and his father did not speak about her. But it was ok he was used to being alone and he did not really miss his parents. He preferred being by himself anyway; other people were too loud and asked too many questions. He was sure his father preferred being alone too.
His father would send him a monthly allowance so he could buy himself food and any other things he needed which Alador mainly used for buying materials for his projects. His father tried his best to make sure Alador had everything he needed while he was not around. All he asked in return was that Alador would check in with him often which he assumed was his fathers way of making sure he was still alive.
Alador’s messages to his father were always the same “I’m ok, nothing to report '' to which his father always responded “Ok” This had been their relationship since Aladro was small and it worked for him. As long as he could work on his projects Alador did not mind much of anything.
After school he would either go straight home to finish whatever he was working on making sure to look down to not get distracted or he would head to the market to buy new supplies.
It was in one of his supply runs that he ran into her. The green haired girl with sapphire eyes. She looked familiar. He was sure that she must be one of his classmates although he was not sure what her name was or why she was staring at him so intently. Maybe he had done something to her without realizing it. Not that he cared, he just wanted to get the materials he needed and go home as fast as possible.
Odalia
Every day it was the same routine. She would wake up before dawn so she could do her chores before her parents woke up. She had to make sure to stay as quiet as possible so as to not wake them up. Especially her mother, that was one of the many things she did not tolerate and would earn Odalia punishment.
Apart from cleaning the house and doing laundry, part of Odalia's chores included loading up the family cart with merchandise which her parents would take to sell at the market. Once that was done she would finish up whatever homework she had then get ready for school.
Odalia was an only child which she hated. She always thought that if she had a sibling then there would be at least one person that would understand and help her. But it was just her and she had to work with what she had.
Her family wasn't well off. Although they ran their own business her parents weren't the best with managing money. Not when it counted anyways. They would cut as many corners as possible which left them selling poor quality products at the market which they tried selling at inflated prices. At the same time most of the money they made they would spend it gambling or on apple blood.
If it wasn’t for Odalia setting aside some money they wouldn't have much money left over for food. Her parents were not aware that she did this or that she was setting aside some money for the day she could finally run away.
She kept that money under the floorboards located under her bed in a small chest with a hidden compartment. On top of it she kept some poems and stories she had made up in hopes that it would keep anyone that found it from looking into the box any further.
She had to be very careful; she didn't even want to think about what her parents might do to her if they ever found that money. More importantly what her mother might do.
Her father was a very unremarkable man. No hopes, no dreams, no ambitions. He was nothing more than an empty shell. He spent his entire life in an almost dazed state. He was always either drunk or hungover. Odalia wasn't even sure if the man realized he had a daughter. She always wondered where he had always been like this or if it was the result of being with her mother all this time. She knew that he was a weak wizard and had to drop out of Hexide. So it's possible that he had always been like this.
Her mother on the hand if there was one word to describe her it was evil. She was a selfish woman incapable of love. She saw Odalia as a means of free labor. She was nothing but a tool to be used. Odalia often felt like her mother resented her for being born. This feeling only grew as she got older. With the years she became more cruel towards her. She had started thinking it was due to her being jealous of Odalia.
Her mother had also dropped out of Hexide because she had become pregnant with Odalia. She had never been good at school and as a witch she was mediocre at best. Odalia on the other hand was one of the top students in her class plus her magic had developed at a young age.
She had always found joy in not being like her parents. The last thing she wanted to be was to be like them. She liked that her hair and eye color was shades off from either parent. She loved that she was a stronger witch than either of them were at her age. She could not wait for the day she would finally break free of them. Once that day came she would never look back.
This was the reason she worked so hard at school. Why she tried getting ahead in any way that she could. Why she volunteered to tend to the family post at the market every day after school. She wanted to be better than them and distance herself as much as possible. She just needed to come across the right opportunity and not hesitate to take it.
These were her thoughts as she tended to the post after school that day. That was when she saw the boy with the wild brown hair and golden eyes. He was in her class although they had never really spoken before. Alador never really spoke to anyone. He must have sensed her staring because at that moment he looked at her and their eyes locked.
Alador had the same bored expression he always had. Nothing was different or out of place yet when their eyes met it triggered a vision. She had been having them at random times unable to control them since her magic started to develop but she had never had one like this one. It was a clear image of what looked like an adult version of herself up on a stage. She was presenting someone it was Alador? Wait ‘the greatest abomination creator of the era?”
“Looks like I just found my ticket out of here” she thought to herself as she continued to watch Alador who looked to be trying to get away as fast as he could. “That’s ok mark my words Alador come tomorrow I will make you mine.”
Alex jumped at the sound of loud bangs, yelling and gun fire, blinking the fogginess from her eyes and letting out a groan, trying to move her hands to try and rub at her head but found them tied up behind her with a rope that is digging into the soft skin of her palms uncomfortably
"What?" Alex asked confusedly, taking in her surrounding for a moment, having forgotten where she was for a moment.
"Oh." Alex let out after it dawned on her like a slap in the face.
"WHO INVITED YOU TWO?! Not that I'm complaining, Miss Luthor will be ecstatic to get her hands on such prized aliens." A guard yelled out, firing his gun again as Alex tried to look but couldn't.
"Oh I doubt that even a dick can get her ecstatic, not than anyone would even touch her with a 10 feet pole in the first place." You said smuggly, arms crossed over the silver wolf head logo on your chests matted black armored suit.
Kara eyes widened at your words, thinking to herself 'Yep, sarcastic, foul mouted and dirty just like before.'
The guard almost let out a snort at your choice of words but immediately regained his composure, firing at you again.
"What's it with ya mortals? Bullets can't harm us." You said amusedly as the bullets bounced off of you and Kara.
More guards came streaming in, firing away at the both of you.
You gave Kara a smirk, making her roll her blue eyes at you but give a smile back. "Let's get em'."
"Just don't kill anyone." Kara chuckled, watching you.
"Can't make any promises dearie." You winked before swinging at the nearest guard, punching away at any guards.
"Figured you'd say something like that." Kara said them join in on taking the guards out.
Alex huffed, strands of her hair flying out of her face. "Damn Kryptonians." She said amusedly after hearing the conversations.
You turned into wolf form, running past Alex before stopping and looking at her and give her a wolfish grin.
Alex rolled her brown eyes at you but a tiny smile tug at her plum lips none the less.
You watched her for a moment further with glowing red eyes before jumping at the guard that came running from the front inbetween the rusted containers, a loud bang being created by the impact, making Alex cringe, only imaging how that impact must have felt.
Kara spared a glance at Alex while hovering in the air slightly, a struggling guard held by his armors collar in a iron grip. Kard give her a hint of a smile, glad that her sister is okay before throwing the guard in hand against another two's backs that went to try and take a blow at you making them groan in both pain and shock.
You shook your head out of the daze, nodding your head at Kara in a silent thanks and respect, Kara giving you two thumps up in reply before using x-ray vision to make sure there aren't anymore guards around, landing next to her sister when seeying that all the guards are unconscious around them save for the three groaning guards that are in too much pain to even move.
"Whoops, maybe I threw that one a little too hard." Kara chuckled nervously, figeting with the sleeve of her armor suit.
"Just a tad maybe. But hardly I could've done it better." You motioned with your fingers teasingly as you stepped up to them in human form now, (e/c) eyes shimmering in amusment.
"Is that a challenge?" Kara folded her arms over her chest, eyebrow raised.
"Maybe." You smirked.
"What are the two of you doing here? Not that I mind but how did you manage to get her on our side? And I thought she refused to go near any CADMUS buildings and people." Alex looked up at Kara.
"I only came because she promised good food." You crossed your arms over your chest once again, half covering the wolf head logo again, taking note of how Alex subtly tries to eye it, only causing you to grin more.
"Oh just admit that you do care and are going soft." Kara elbowed you, grinning amusedly as you pretend to be hurt by her.
"Ugh, whatever blondie."
"As much as I love seeying you guys bonding can you first get me out of this ropes and out of here before CADMUS backup arrive." Alex pipped in, impatiently struggling against the restraints again, gritting her teeth at the pain it cause in her now raw wrists.
"Aww but it's kinda kinky seeying you like that. All tied up-"
"Shut it wolf." Alex glared.
"Make me Princessa." You smirked at the red haired woman.
Alex only glared more making you laugh as you untie her.
"Thanks." Alex huffed, rubbing at her wrists.
You only winked at her, standing next to Kara.
"Thanks for the help. You have a great nose to sniff people out." Kara thanked you, pating you on the shoulder as you began to make your way outside with Alex.
"It was no biggie Kar. Was kinda fun." You smiled at the blonde kryptonian.
"Will we see you again?" Alex suddenly asked, grabbing at your armored clad arm as you three stood outside, taking careful steps to not step on more unconscious guards that layed around the place.
You looked down at her hand on your arm for a moment before looking back up into her eyes.
"Of course you will. I'll meet ya both back at the DEO base, gotta take care of a few things first though." You explained, smiling at Alex.
Alex could feel a small blush brusing at her cheecks as she think 'Woah, she have such seductively pretty (e/c) eyes.'
"Better watch yourself out there then and get to the DEO so I can test you to see if you are really that tough." Alex removed her arm and watch as you walked past Kara.
"We can do a lot more than just testing Agent Danvers. We can-Ouch!" You yelped as Kara smacked you in the back of the head.
"Don't talk dirty in front of me about my sister." Kara teased, grinning as you glare at her.
"Pussy blocker." You snort but continued walking, giving them one last glance before dissapearing into the forest.
Alex tried to hide her blush but Kara end up teasingly raising and eyebrow at her. "I ship this."
"Yeah yeah, whatever you say. Let's get back to the base." Alex tugged her by the elbow.
"I'm going to help plan the wedding! No questions asked!"
"Kara!"
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
It was the next day when you showed up at the DEO, (e/c) eyes taking in everything in awe as agents went on with their work.
"Glad to see you've finally showed up here." A male voice said from your left, making you spun and face the person, seeying Hank Henshaw stand there.
"Hank." You greeted the martian, earning a tiny smile from him as he gestured you to follow him.
"What is your name? Haven't gotten it because we were in a hurry to save agent Danvers." Hank looked at you, allowing you to step into the elegant elevator first, following behind soon after.
"How about you tell me your real name first martian, then I'll tell you mine."
He looked shocked for a moment.
"Wait how do you know I'm a-" He began but you pointed at your nose before he could even finish his question.
"I can identify any alien species from humans. I have a good nose." You explained.
"I like even more already." He smiled at you.
"My real name is J'onn J'onzz." He held out a hand to you.
"Nice to meet ya, names (Y/N)." You shook his hand firmly, suprising him even more.
"You have great strength." J'onn aknowledge respectfully.
"Oh that's nothing, you should see the metal container I tackled that guards against last night, I doubt the guy will ever wake up and be removed intact from it." You mused out, stepping out onto the floor when the elevator doors opened.
"You are full of surprises." J'onn chuckled under his breath.
"What's live without a little surprises?" You followed him as he lead you towards what seem to be a big office, allowing you to enter first then closing the door behind the both of you.
Taking in the office you spotted Kara sitting in chair and flipping through a file, curiously looking up when you and J'onn entered, a bright smile immediately crossing her face upon seeying you, throwing the file to the side without a care as she jumped up.
"You came!" Kara pulled you into a hug.
"Of course. I had nothing else better to do anyways. And I guess it wouldn't hurt to give a shot at the DEO, maybe I can be of better help here." You returned her hug before taking a seat where J'onn have gestured in front of his desk after he sat down too, Kara taking her seat too again after picking up the file she have thrown.
J'onn turned his attention back to you, hands folded on the desk as he eye you curiously.
"I have a few questoins to ask you if you don't mind."
"Ask away." You said.
"We want to know what powers and abilities you have." He explained, hoping he doesn't seem like an enemy to you.
"Well aside from shape shifting into a huge wolf and super strength, I have better smelling and seeying senses than humans, super speed and can endure both extremely cold and hot tempretures, Illusion, psychokinesis, and have x-ray vision, laser vision and also hell-fire breath that can melt through anything and pretty much bullet proof like Kara and can sometimes mimic others powers if I concentrate hard enough."
"Interesting. I'd like to spar with you to test those abilities." J'onn said, intrigued by this.
Kara looked intrigued by this too. "Wait. What? That is cool. I don't have all those."
"Jealous?" You teased the blonde, folding your arms against the chairs top and leaning against them.
Kara glared playfully. "Maybe."
"Trust me, these powers are fun and all but the getting them was not so fun with CADMUS. It was extremely painfull and I had to suffer everyday for a few years. The old hag even managed to take away my flight ability with an expiriment gone wrong."
Both J'onn and Kara looked at you in sympathy.
"I'm a sorry we couldn't have rescued you." J'onn said truthfully.
You gave them both a comforting smile. "Hey it's okay. You didn't know and they are a shady but dangerous corperation. I'm just glad I've met someone there that have helped me escape. We still are best friends. Never could really loose contact and that was all fine with us both."
J'onn studied you. "Who helped you escape? You don't have to answer that if you don't want to."
You pursed your lips, hesitating for a moment. "Well, believe it or not, it was their little black sheep of the family, Lena Luthor."
With that said a memory flew through Kara's mind with her and Lena's talk on the balcony.
"I know that she was my mothers best expiriment and weapon to use against her enemies. And for who helped her escape, I don't know who it was. Maybe it was someone with a death wish."
That rang throug her head a few times. "Lena you genuis sneaky little vixen. Only you would go against your own mother."
You chuckeld at the blonde kryptonian. "Lena told me that you've asked about me. I arrived at her office right after you've left."
"Oh you two are sneaky little vixens. I should've know she was half lying."
"She only did it to protect us both. She is a protective friend ya know. We'd do anything to keep each other safe, we only had each other. And besides, she didn't know that we used to be childhood besties." You explained.
"Good. Now you have me too then." Kara said truthfully.
J'onn softly smile at the two of you. "I'm glad she've helped you. She's a good woman that are full of surprises just like you."
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
You walked next to Kara as J'onn walked at the front, leading you through the DEO, showing you around the place.
"Sir!" A guy came running towards J'onn.
"Winn." He greeted, coming to a stop and looking down at him. "What is it?"
Winn's eyes immediately lit up when seeying you, pushing Kara aside earning a startled 'Hey!' from the blonde Kryptonian as he stood by you bubbling with excitement.
"It's such an honor to finally meet you." He akwardly greeted, holding a hand out. "I'm Winn."
You smiled at the akward man, shaking his hand firmly just like you did with J'onn, amused at his shock and excitiment. "I'm (Y/N)."
"I know this a probably to soon to ask but...can I please desing you a suit?"
"Winn!" J'onn glared, making you laugh.
"Woah dude. Thanks for the offer but a Luthor already beated ya to it."
Winn tried to hide a pout. "Ah man, Lena's good with designing. But...if you ever want new suits keep me in mind please."
"I will keep that in mind Winn, thanks." You watched as he bubbled up with excitiment before rushing away again after J'onn dismissed him.
You and Kara began to follow him again for awhile until he led you into what seems to be a huge impressive training room.
"Very nice." You said more to yourself before you spotted Alex sparring with another agent.
"Loving the view." You mused, arms crossed as you lean against a wall, head tilted to the side when Alex lost her focus and the other agent kicked her legs and knocking her over as she cuss under her breath, making you and J'onn give each other a cheecky smile at the red haired agents fail.
Alex got back up, not exceptting the agent hao that wanted to help her up. "I'm fine, you are dismissed Agent Lopez." Watching as the lacky man scurry away before turning to see you, Kara and J'onn chuckling at her.
"Well would you look at that, I have to get back to CatCo. Miss Grant wants me to do....something." Kara slipped away before Alex could send her her famous cold glare.
Alex shot you both a 'not amused' look, making you and J'onn stop, playfully holding your hands up.
"You are late." Alex finally spoke up, moving closer.
"Oh, honey, no. I'm never late. I arrive exactly when I have to. And I had to take care of other things too before I came here."
"And what other things might that have been?" Alex prod.
"Nothing bad, was just helping out a lady."
Alex gave you a look. "Helping out a lady?"
You smirked even more. "Yep." You said popping the p and looking around the room again as J'onn sneakily leave the room.
"Interesting. Good to see you came." Alex said, watching as your (e/c) eyes scan the room curiously before you ran to the salmon ladder in the room.
"Awesome! I love this workout." You threw off your shirt, revealing a black training bra as Alex watched.
You immediately got started, ignoring the agent that is watching you.
"Enjoying the view Princesa?" You teased when feeling her eyes heavily scanning over you
"Shut up." Alex scoffed, looking away briefly and muttering "maybe." under her breath before looking back up at you again as you sent her a wink before concentrating again.
"I can't wait to kick your smug ass." Alex said.
"Ya wish Danvers."
"Where did you learn this workout session? It looks like you've been doing it for years." Alex sneaked a glance at your flexing abs and well built arms, bitting her lower lip to try and keep away her not so innocent thoughts.
You've didn't fail to notice her subtle glance, smuggly smiling at her again.
"I've learned this and much more by CADMUS. They've always made their best train and workout everyday. Can't say I mind the workouts from them but the expirimenting not at all. I kept working out even after Lena have helped me escape that place. She have an epic gym at her place I we both use." You explained, still focused.
"Lena helped you? Woah, who would've though that. You two seem close if you two keep in contact."
"Yeah, we are good friends. We tend to work together on projects at times and hang out when she's free which aren't that often. The poor woman overwork herself too much. Have told her to take breaks often but she's a stuborn one." You looked at Alex once you were back on the ground.
"Sure does sound like her." Alex watched you again as you went for another round on the salmon ladder.
"I've heard Lena mentoined you and Kara by her. She said she goes to the game nights. Does she know that you are an agent and that Kara is Supergirl? She've never mentioned that."
"No, she doesn't know that. It's best that way." Alex explained.
"Yikes." You spared another glance at her. "Don't wanna be there if the secret gets found out."
Alex pursed her lips, arms folded. "You won't tell her right?"
"I'm against keeping secrets from my friend but it's not my place to tell. So, No, I won't tell her."
Alex let's out a relieved sigh. "Thanks."
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
Bring me to life
-
Pairing: Orville Swanson & Simon Pearson
Rating: General Audience
Tags: Sad, hurt/comfort, love confessions.
-
Orville fell in love with Simon two months ago. But he still don't find the strength to tell Simon about his feelings. Why should he? Everyone in camp yells at him. He don't know what love is. He wish someone would kiss, or at least hug him. But nothing. But Swanson understands. He's a drunk nothing. He has to be saved many times from one of the gang members, mostly Arthur. He still don't get what Dutch sees in him. He tried to get sober many times. But alone he can't make it. He asked Grimshaw this morning if she help him get clean. But she and the others who heard it just laughed at him, and told him this day will never come again. And now he sits crying at the camp shore. A bottle of whisky in his hand. It's actually the first alcohol bottle he touched today.
He takes a big sip of it. The burning in his throat feels so good. And the whisky tastes so nice. But the crying gets more. And the sobbing too. He's almost blind from the many tears. They blurry his vision. Hes unworthy. He don't get why Dutch still let him be here. Of course, he likes the others, specially Simon who he fell in love with, but they hate him. They are his family, even though the mostly scream at him and make him down. They don't care. He could die in front of them or faint, they wouldn't care. They would just leave him lying on the ground, and would probably be even happy about it. He's sure they would even make a party. He sobs again. Then he takes another sip.
Orville dosen't notice yet, that someone sat down next to him on the big rock. He just notice it, as he suddenly feel a hand on his back. He flinch in surprise and shock. Then he looks at the owner of the hand. It's Pearson. He looks at him in shock. But then he just sob again, and look straight forward again. Meanwhile Simon carefully place his hand back on Orville back. He pulled his hand away in shock as Orville moved flinched.
,,You want to talk about it?" Simon whispers.
Orville is confused. Science when do somebody care about him?
,,Who cares." Swanson sob.
,,I'm an unworthy piece of shit. I'm just wasting your time." Reverend sobs after another while of silence.
,,Don't say that. Tell me what you have in mind." Simon says quiet.
Orville let out another sob.
,,Nothing. Just. I-I....." He stutters.
,,I want to get sober. But I can't make it alone. And as I asked Grimshaw sh-she and the others just laughed at me. I don't know what love is. I wish I knew. B-But I don't." Orville crys.
,,And I will never know. I mean look at me. Who wants some ugly drunken trash like me." Orville Sigh-sobs.
It hurts Simon to hear Orville talking so badly about himself. He still can be saved.
,,Don't be so harsh to your self. You still can be saved, and your not ugly." Simon whispers.
Reverend freezes in confusion. But then after a while, he sobs again.
,,It's just the truth. I'm no looker." Orville answers.
,,Don't say that."
And suddenly he's in the strong arms of Simon. His heart begin to beat faster, and his whole body starts to tingle. He drops the closed bottle to the ground, wich landed on the soft grass with a quiet sound. Then he carefully and unsure place his hands on Pearson's back. It feels so good to get huged after that long time. Orville hopes that Pearson can't feel his heart who's beating verry verry fast. He suddenly feels another wave of tears who want to come out verry bad. But he try to keep it in.
,,Let it go Orville. I'm here for you." Simon whispers.
,,I appreciate it, and thank you. But w-why." Orville sobs.
But he start to sob and cry again anyways.
,,Because I care about you." Simon say honest.
,,You do?" Orville says in disbelief.
,,Yes. Because I love you. I really do. And I could help you with the alcohol problem if you want." Pearson whispers.
Orville is shocked. Positive shocked.
,,Y-you love me?" Orville sobs.
,,Yes I really do."
Orville break away from Simon a bit, to lock eyes. He can't believe it. This must be a dream! Orville want to say something. But Simon's soft lips on his stop him. Orville freeze. But as Simon kiss him again, he unsure kiss back.
,,I-I love you too Simon." Orville stutters.
,,So we're a couple now." Pearson smiles.
,,I guess we are." Orville whisper happily.
He can't believe it. Simon really loves him! It feels like a dream. If it is one, Orville wants to never wake up again. But it isn't a dream. Today eight months later, both are still together. The other Gang members know by now. But they are happy for the two of them. Orville meanwhile only sometimes drink alcohol. Pearson gave and give him a reason to live. He love him as he are. He heals him. And Reverend thanks Simon and God everyday for that. Simon is probably his livesaver.
Of Demons and Dragons
Ikemen Sengoku Imagine: Being able to turn into a dragon
Prologue
Warnings: Swearing,detailed descriptions of panic/anxiety, I tried to follow the prologue as closely as possible, but obviously some things are different - some dialogue has changed, and some isn't there at all. Dragon shenanigans were kept to a minimum....sort of, can't have everyone finding out in the first part now can we? If this turns into a series it will probably be an amalgamation of all the routes put together and some of my own imagination.
You awake in the Sengoku period, confused as to how you had gone from standing infront of a monument to laying in a burning building. Had someone drugged you? Was it that weird science guy? It would have had to be, he was the only one there with you. All you remember was standing infront of the monument and then- nothing. You attempt to sit up with a light groan at the sudden headache you apparently have, and look around to take in your surroundings. A gasp is caught in your throat when you realize you're in a burning building.
"Oh!" You can barely hear your own shocked voice over the sound of crackling flames, there's a man with a sword is standing over one who appears to be asleep. The confusion, the fear, the shock, and now the anger, it all becomes too much for you when the figure raises the sword above his head. Before you know it, your line of sight becomes elevated, the sound of fabric tearing to pieces fills your ears, and an absolutely ghastly growl rumbles through your throat and escapes your snarling maw. The man who was standing whips around. It's night and the dancing flames appear to make his face warp constantly in the darkness, had you not just turned you would have found his face frightening, but in your dragon form you felt safer. The reflection of the inferno dances in your eyes, making them appear as if they are glowing, "Demon...!"
That's all the mystery man needs to flee the scene of the crime before another growl leaves your throat. You huffed, snorting as you watched the black figure disappear through the flames, before the warmth around you appears to grow more intense. You glance around and realize the flames are quickly closing in around you, and without hesitation you jump for the man, grab him and the blanket covering him, and take off a safe distance above the flames before diving to the secure ground below. With a quick assessment, you're able to verify that there is no one around to see you, before you close your eyes, take a deep breath in, calm your mind -you feel the elevation of your head lowering- deep breath out, and you open your eyes to find you are smaller now, back to being a human, and bare. You wrap the large blanket around you, before you look down at the man you just saved who is surprisingly still asleep.
You hear faint voices to your general left, though they are so far you can't quite make out what they're saying. Slowly you bend down and begin to shake the man and when his eyes shoot open, you're once again surprised though now that you think about it all that must have jostled him from his deep sleep, at least a bit. His piercing mahogany eyes turn to look at you, and for a moment he seems to be scrutinizing you for waking him up, "Who are you?"
His gaze shifted to the building burning to the ground behind you, "Ah," you must have somehow managed to drag him to safety.
"Someone-" he cut you of before you could get more than a word out.
"Someone tried to do away with me while I slept?" You were honestly surprised he came to such a conclusion instead of assuming the fire was an accident, or perhaps he had been fighting the man with the sword and was knocked unconscious by him? You nodded, "Yes."
"Audacious, but foolish." Well you wouldn't have called it foolish seeing as, if you hadn't been there, he would have been dead, "You there, woman, let go of me."
"Oh sorry," You hadn't realized you were still holding on to him till he said something and pulled your hands back. The strange man sat up and you stood, taking a couple steps back to give him some space, "You saved me, yes?" All you could do was nod as he looked you over. You hadn't sustained any burns, and you clung to that blanket rather tightly- telling him you may not have much underneath.
"You may be some girl the monks snuck in for amusement," excuse you? "But I owe you my thanks."
You resisted the urge to bite his head off, "Sorry, I must have missed all the amused monks while I dragged your unconscious body out of a burning building, but your welcome anyways." You asshole.
"Besides," you looked back to the building before returning your gaze to him, "I don't even know how I got in there." Though you had your suspicions. You took in what he was wearing. He wasn't wearing the normal night attire one would assume someone who was sleeping would wear. He looked like a samurai from a movie that takes place in the old days, but it was easy to tell his clothes weren't replicas, and the sword at his side was definitely real. You could dismiss the lack of night attire due to the fact that he may have been fighting that other man before being knocked unconscious, but that didn't make his garb any less odd.
"What are you staring at? Surely you know who I am?" You didn't hold back your deadpan expression this time, he didn't look like any famous actor or star you cared about, so why would you recognize him, "No, actually, I don't."
"You saved me without knowing who I am? Not expecting reward or favor?" He glared back at you, suspicion creeping into his mind. Should you not have been a decent person? "So be it." He smirked in an amused manner that was really starting to grate your nerves, "I am the man who will rule all under the sun-"
"Actually, I dont want to know," he was cocky and full of him self, and after experiencing it and his rudeness, you were just about done with him.
"What? You're a curious one, woman. No one has ever spoken so impudently to me before-"
"I honestly don't care." You could hear the voices from before getting louder or maybe closer, and deduced that you should probably take your leave. You were about to do just that when the man before you let out a laugh, "You intrigue me, which is almost as worthy of praise as saving my life."
Does this guy ever stop monologue-ing?
"I am the lord of Azuchi Castle and Daimyo of Owari, Nobunaga Oda."
You bristled at this, and turned towards the building to study its appearance more closely. The words "Hono-ji" engeraved on the pillars assured you that this was the famous temple you had read about, "What year is it?" You asked sternly, no longer in the mood for any of this guys goading.
"It's 1582, why?"
You didn't answer, just shook your head disbelievingly before you took a couple more steps back, "No."
You refused to believe it, this had to be some kind of social experiment prank or something. Just as you were about to storm off a man dressed in white and purple on horseback appeared.
"Who is that?" You still wore a bit of a hostile look on your face, and that combined with you standing over Nobunaga -who was still sitting on the ground- was a pretty damning sight.
"Mitsunari?"
The man in question quickly hopped off his horse and swiftly drew is sword to point it at you.
"What are you doing here?"
You could feel your teeth sharpening behind your pursed lips, your vision seemed to become enhanced, and a low growl that neither of the men seemed to hear bubbled in the back of your throat, but you didn't shift.
"And where is Hideyoshi?"
"Lord Hideyoshi sent me ahead," Mitsunari went to help Nobunaga up with his sword still pointed at you, "He should be here shortly." Once his leader was up, he backed away, pulling the raven hard man with him before using himself to shield him from you, "We recieved information about an assasination attempt," he looked to the burning temple behind you before his accusing eyes snapped back to you, "It appears to have been true."
Nobunaga was quick to squash what Mitsunari was suspecting with a strong and commanding voice, "This is not my would-be assassin, Mitsunari, this woman has saved me."
The man with the drawn sword studied you before turning back to his lord, as if to ask for clarification. Nobunaga sighed, "She dragged me out of the burning building."
"All by herself?" He seemed to not believe that a woman could pull a grown man from the upper floors, down the stairs, and out of a burning building. And technically he would be correct in terms of that's not how you did it, but these men didn't need to know that.
With a nod from the raven haired man, Mitsunari put his sword away, "Thank you miss...?" He once again looked to Nobunaga who had now moved to stand beside his vassal, "She has yet to introduce herself to me."
You stood your ground, not so much as giving a polite bow when you gave them your name. Mitsunari seemed a bit in awe - having never met a woman with so much confidence, and Nobunaga nearly smirked at your tenacity before he decided it was time to remind you of a womans place in this world, "You cheeky woman, you do not even bow to the lord of this land?"
No, you don't bow to anyone. Your abilities were a wonderful confidence booster in that -if you wanted to, you could kick their asses right here, right now, "You haven't given me reason to bow to you, you might be 'Lord' of this land, but you hold no rank over me- I. Am. Not. One of your subordinates."
His amused expression turned sharp and he glared at you. Had looks been able to kill, surely his eyes would have pierced you like knives- but they couldn't kill, and you weren't just your everyday meek woman that a man like him must have been used to seeing. So you glared right back.
"Please this is on me," Mitsunari was now playing referee as he held his hands out between the two if you, "It was rude of me not to introduce myself first." He looked towards you, placing the hand directed at you over his chest while the other remained extended towards Nobunaga, "My name is Mitsunari Ishida." He bowed slightly to you in the form of a head nod, "I serve at the side if Lord Hideyoshi, Lord Nobunaga's right-hand man."
Your glare faded and you could feel your teeth receding back to normal and your body language relaxed, though you remained vigilant, "Nice to meet you," you gave a polite nod back.
"I cannot thank you enough for protecting our lord's life."
"It's fine," you broke eye contact with Mitsunari to glance at Nobunaga, who's stance had also relaxed, before returning them to the silver-haired man, "though he is kinda' making me regret it."
"Please, do not take it to heart!" He smiled gently at you, "And pardon me, " his voice turned a bit unsure, "but you do not appear to be a nun, and your uh," he looked at the blanket questioningly, "dress is unusual. Are you from abroad?"
"You could say that." Perhaps now was not the best time to tell them you were from a different time period. You were sassy, smart mouthed, fearless or stupid -whatever they chose to see your brashness as- and you showed animosity upon introduction. They might think you're crazy if they didn't already.
"Perhaps we should take you to get cleaned up?" Mitsunari began to lead the both of you back to their camp and it wasn't till then you relized that your skin was covered in ashes and soot, "I would appreciate that."
Mitsunari reached for the saddle bag as they walked and pulled out an extra set of robes that would undoubtedly fit you a few sizes too big. You took them anyways with a polite smile, "Thank you," and before you knew it, the three of you were at camp. Nobunaga's men crowded he and Mitsunari, happy to see they were okay. Luckily for you, you were able to squeeze past and sneak into a vacant tent to quickly change your attire.
Once you stepped out, the group had dispersed and Mitsunari once again approached you to guide you to the center of camp where a warm camp fire and some sitting logs waited for you, "Wait right here," he urged you to sit, "I'll bring you a warm cup of good, clean was water to clear your throat."
The fire and smoke honestly hadn't bothered you, I mean you were a dragon. You watched Mitsunari walk off, staring into space till a familiar voice snapped you out of your thoughts, "You clean up well."
You snorted and turned to look at Nobunaga, the glare from earlier returning to your face as you did not appreciate the way he was eyeing you, "Tch," you propped your elbows on your knees, looked back in the general direction Mitsunari had disappeared, and used your hands to support your head as you hunched over in defeat at once again having to share space with this man, "Gee, you sure do know how to compliment a lady."
"My lord." You perked up when someone parted the curtain and entered the camp, but you quickly deflated again as it wasn't Mitsunari. Great, another new face, "I see you are well."
"Mitsuhide?" Nobunaga's attention was no longer on you, but you quickly followed his gaze at the mention of yet another name you had heard about. You watched him like a hawk, surely he wouldn't do anything stupid in the middle if a camp full of soldiers loyal to the man you were currently sitting next to, but it didn't hurt to people watch.
"I hurried when I heard about the attack, but it seems there was nothing for me to worry about."
"You worry?" Nobunaga chuckled at that, "I have never even seen you break a sweat."
You rolled your eyes, about to drown out their banter before another person emerged from behind the curtain, "Lord Nobunaga! Are you injured?"
You raised a brow at this mother hen.
"Hideyoshi. The only injury I suffered is to my pride in letting my assailant escape."
And zoning out again.
"And what of her?" You looked at Hideyoshi in time to see him motion to you, "Leave her be," Nobunaga waved you off, as he told his right hand your name, "Oh and she saved my life."
"You saved Nobunaga's life...?" Mitsuhide sounded as if he didn't believe the tale, "And you're such a slender thing. But it appears your courage makes up for it."
You glared at the white-haired man, and were about to stand when Nobunaga grabbed you by the back of your robes and pulled you back down to sit, "Yes, she is a bit of a fireball."
"Mitsuhide, what are you doing here?"
You huffed and zoned out again. You didn't have time for any of this, you had to figure out how to get back home. If you could get back home. You ended up back in time, surely there had to be a way back to the present.
"Stop being evasive," you zoned back in when Hideyoshi raised his voice, "Confess!" And saw him grip his sword, "If I find out you played any part in this attack on our lord, Mitsuhide, I'll show you no mercy."
Children.
"It wasn't him," you piped up from your seat next to the man in charge. The bickering men turned to look at you questioningly, "Sure, let's not ask the person who was there if they saw anything," you leaned back, propping your hands up on the edge of the log you were sitting on to keep upright, "Let's instead just point fingers and make false accusations."
"What?"
You shrugged, "I caught a glimpse of the man who attacked Nobu- your Lord Nobunaga," more like you stared him down and put the fear of god in him but again, they don't need to know that, "and Mitsuhide's silhouette is all wrong."
"Stay out if this," Hideyoshi scolded you like you were the one behaving like a child, "We'll settle things with you later, and learn why you've schemed to get so close to Lord Nobunaga."
"Excuse you!" You shot up off your seat this time and stormed up to the both of them before Nobunaga had the chance to grab you again, "I am not scheming to get close to him! If I wanted him dead I could have just left him to die in that fire," you felt your canines poking your lip and huffed, before forcing yourself to calm down by crossing your arms and turning away from them, "Your boss sleeps like the dead anyways."
"Enough, all of you," Nobunaga stood up this time, "Reguardless of what brings Mitsuhide here, I am alive and well."
Hideyoshi's attention left you and Mitsuhide to look at Nobunaga as he addressed the three of you, "My apologies, Lord Nobunaga," Hideyoshi released his grip on his sword and relaxed a bit.
"Hideyoshi, Mitsuhide, leave us. I have something to discuss with our newest acquaintance." The raven haird war lord waved off the other two causing them to step aside as he approached you, "Your sharp tongue and brash nature aside, you saved my life."
You raised a brow and held back a small growl.
"I'm intrigued by you. You're a woman who carries fortunes favor, of that I am certain."
You resisted rolling your eyes at this, luck had nothing to do with you both making it out of that burning temple, "To be fair, I would argue that-"
Nobunaga didn't allow you to finish as he quickly grasped your arm, pulled you towards him, and then slid a hand around your waist to draw you even closer, "How would you like to rule at my side?"
Your head whipped back, your brows furrowed, and the rest of your face scrunched up slightly like you smelled something awful, "What?" You grabbed the hand that was still around your waist and pulled it off to give yourself enough space to rip out of his grasp, "Hell no!" You dropped his hand and took a couple more steps back till your were comfortable with the distance between the two of you.
"What?" Nobunaga seemed a bit perplexed as to why your would turn down such an offer.
You looked around you and noticed everyone's eyes were on you and you shook your head, exclaming, "You all are crazy," before you made a break for it. You found yourself once again scared, confused, and overwhelmed with the situation at hand. Your heart was pounding both from you running out of the small camp and from adrenaline that was now coursing through you veins. Your chest felt tight, and you had to fight to keep control of yourself.
As you entered the woods your vision shifted, and suddenly things were a lot clearer - as opposed to everything being dark, blury, and dimly lit by the moonlight, everything looked bright, vibrant and crisp. It was like someone put a photo editing filter over your eyes and turned up the brightness, saturation, and clarity, but that's just what happenes when the dragon in you was trying to take hold of the steering wheel. The sudden shift only served to make you more disoriented. Everything seemed like it was popping out at you, and you had no choice but to stop once you reached a clearing.
'Calm down, calm down.' You took a deep breath and paced yourself to a slow walk around the forest clearing as your thoughts attempted to calm you, 'You're fine, you're fine.'
Though you paused in the center when your breath was stolen from you and you felt your teeth poke the inside of your mouth, 'No,' deep breath in, close your eyes- the cold chill of the air seemed to no longer nip at your skin, 'Not now, not now- we're fine,' deep breath out, the chill returned, you opened your eyes. Everything looked much more dull. You didn't hear the soft chime of bells in the wind or the quiet sound of dried leaves crunching under someone's feet, you were too busy fighting the change. Normally the transition happened smoothly, and when you wanted it to happen or let it happen, you could hardly notice a change, but when you were fighting it as hard as you were, the shift could be a bit traumatic.
"Young lady."
Damn it, can't you ever catch a break?!
"What are you doing out in the woods this late at night?"
A low growl bubbled at the back of your throat as you whipped around to see who had been following you, 'A monk?' You were thrown off enough for your small fit of anger to disappear.
"I am called Kennyo, and I am a traveling monk. Perhaps I can be of assistance to you?"
"No thanks," you replied sharply. He was giving you the heebie jeebies. The look in his eyes didn't seem right, and the scar across his face told you he was a survivor, but of what, and at what cost? He took a long stride towards you and you had only been able to take a couple small steps back, before he placed a hand on your shoulder, "You should return home quickly, Demons lurk in these woods at night."
Fuck that, fuck him, fuck this place, and fuck who/whatever brought you here! You wordlessly slapped his hand away before darting into the woods again. Your frantic run triggering yet another flare up, one that you were unaware of as iridescent scales seemed to coat your skin and protect you from any scrapes and cuts you would have otherwise recieved from the foliage around you. You looked back for a split second to see if you were being followed, and the slight break in attention at where you were headed was all that was needed to hinder you unable to see the quickly approaching cliff - till a sixth sense told you to stop.
"Watch out!" Your body jerked to an abrupt halt and your feet kicked up a large cloud of dust, however, just as you stopped the ground came loose from underneath you. "Woah, hey!"
Had your reflexes not been fast enough you would have surely fallen to your death, but luckily, you managed to whip your body around fast enough to grab hold of the sturdier ground. Another man, who looked vaguely familiar, came to your aid and swiftly grabbed your hand before pulling you up, "I was trying to tell you there was a cliff, what are you deaf?!"
You aided him and pulled yourself up the rest of the way before quickly snapping at him, "Sorry, I was busy running for my life!"
He attempted to help you stand, but you were determined to do so on your own. You sighed as you got to your feet and dusted yourself, before this stranger leaded you away from the edge.
"Besides, I would have been fine," you sighed.
"Yeah, you certainly looked fine, dangling from the side of a cliff and holding on for dear life."
You couldn't argue with that standpoint, less you wished to raise suspicion, so you merely pouted, "Thanks, I guess..."
Deciding to brush off the attitude, he merely shook his head and continued to lead you away from the cliff, "It's fine."
"What's this Yuki?"
Your head snapped up in the direction of another voice as a taller silhouette walked out from the bushes, "We've been here ten minutes and you've already found yourself a girl?"
"Dont tease me, Lord Shingen. She almost plummeted to her death."
You 'humfed' at how they seemed to make light of your situation and stubbornly turned your head away from them, till 'Yuki' got your attention again, "What even were you doing running around the forest this late at night?" You didn't respond and merely eyed him.
"Hmm. Smoke from Honno-ji, and a woman all alone at night." You looked towards Shingen as he spoke, "Perhaps you're a ghost?" You scoffed. "Though you're the most beautiful ghost I have ever seen."
Close by like a hair, "No." With your senses on high alert, you looked towards the foliage where two other men were about to emerge from, "Your ability to spew-up cheap pickup lines never ceases to amaze me."
"I just call it like I see it, Kenshin."
"You there," the man next to Kenshin called your attention, "Could you step into the light? Thank you."
"What?" You gave him an odd look before he grabbed you with a slender hand and drew you out into the moonlight. You audibly hissed at being touched without your permission and just missed slapping his hand when he released you.
"What a fine piece of work." Your glare only deepened. You would rather face the war lords you just left to these flirty travelers, "Sorry," Shingen interjected, "I laid eyes on this angelic treasure first."
"We can share," the unnamed stranger argued, "Art is to be loved and shared by all-"
You promptly shoved past the both of them, causing them to be caught off guard by your physical strength as you actually managed to make them both stumble slightly, "Excuse you!"
The more dainty of the two gently clasped your hand, "Would you be interested in exchanging the kimono you're wearing with one from my collection?"
"For the last time Yoshimoto-" Ah, so he does have a name, "Women are not pieces of art, so get your hands off her would you?!" You aided Yuki in snatching your kimono away from Yoshimoto and huffed, before walking to stand behind Yuki to put some kind of barrier between you and them.
"My lords," you bristled and whipped around at the sound of another new voice, "I've returned. Nobunaga's forces have extinguished the fires at Honno-ji."
You eyed him quizzically, this one looked and sounded familiar though it was hard to tell with the black mask covering half his face. "Thank goodness they did." Yoshimoto was the first to respond, "That temple houses many treasures. I fear for the fire damage."
He was dressed in tight fitted layers of clothing with interchanging patterns of camouflage, and solid black and dark greens, but it was the glasses that made you suspicious. "Thank you for your investigation," Kenshin nodded in approval, "So I presume Nobunaga is alive then?"
"Yes."
"He's got the devil's luck," Shingen crossed his arms and shook his head disbelievingly.
"Or he is the Devil," Yuki jested.
You had been studying the ninja the entire time - his hidden facial structure, the shape of his body, his eyes, his smell, but it wasn't till you swiftly moved towards him and walked around him much like a predator would circle its prey, that he looked towards you. A look of recognition passed his face, "You-!"
You stopped in your motions, eyes so sharp they could kill a man, "I know you," it was more a statement than a question.
"We happened to run into her here," Kenshin informed his vassel as he watched the exchange, "Do you indeed know this woman?"
"No," the ninja tried to quickly take back his words, "She must be mistaken. Though I spotted a village on the way here. She must be from there. I'll escort her home."
He gave you little to no time to argue as he walked behind you, placed his hands on your shoulders and steered you back into the forest.
"Moving quick, aren't you, Sasuke? You and Yoshimoto both. Give the rest of us a chance, will you?" Sasuke paused to look back at the others, "Lord Shingen please, you and the others should return to the city," he left no more room for commentary as he continued to push you into the woods.
Once you were deep enough, you went off, "You!" You whipped around and pointed a finger in his face, "Did you have something to do with this?!"
"What?" He was caught off guard.
"This!" You motioned to the world around you, giving him your back for a split second before turning back around with different colored eyes contracted into slits, and snarled, "All of this!"
He backed off, his ears catching the creature-like noise you just made. He thought that hiss he heard earlier was just from some animal in the woods, but now there was no mistaking it, it had come from you, "Did you bring me here on purpose?!"
"W-what?" You stormed toward him, and he backed up till he hit a tree when his eyes caught the sight of your teeth sharpening into points. He was a well trained ninja, but his training had not prepared him for seeing someone morph into a monster before his very eyes- at least not into the kind you were.
"I said."
There was a loud, low pitched thump from behind you, and for a brief moment Sasuke tore his eyes away to look, only to be met with the sight of a long, pearlescent, scaly tail.
"Did you." He looked back at you, but your face was no longer that of a human woman, it was instead a scaled beast with an elongated muzzle, and horns that may have better been described as antlers.
"Bring me here." He had to crane his head upwards to keep eye contact with you as your head raised up into the sky due to your neck having grown in length. He looked down for a split second to examine the rest of your body. The kimono, being a more loose fitting garb, seemed to have untied and merely slid off your body. You were indeed no longer human, but were instead a long serpent-like creature on four legs with a long voluminous mane running down your spine. A dragon.
"On purpose!" You roared to forcibly call his attention back to your face, and he did so without hesitation.
"You recognize me?" He lowered his mask and you hissed, "You can hide your face but not your smell."
How are you talking without moving your mouth?!
"You're that scientist I met at the monument," your head lulled from side to side, only causing Sasuke to want to disappear into the tree bark behind him, "How did we get here, in the past, and why are you dressed like a ninja?"
"Please could you just," he boldly placed a hand on the bridge of your snout and lightly pushed you back, "I need space."
You growled but did so, backing off a bit so Sasuke could pull himself off from against the tree and walk to the side of you by a couple steps, "It's best if I start from the beginning- My name is Sasuke. And just like you I come from the present- or future, rather." You snarled, wanting him to get to the point.
"Right, right sorry-" he fumbled with his words, to give you an explanation in layman's terms, "Basically, that lightning strike that almost hit us caused a spacetime warp and sent us into the past." You merely stared at him for a second, and he caught on to what you wanted when you appeared to be studying his clothing and intensified your glare. He backed up a couple steps, "W-we entered the wormhole at the same time. However, for reasons unknown, I arrived 4 years prior to you, and in that time I've equipped myself with the skills necessary to make myself a viable asset- both for my safety and employment."
With that you huffed and backed off him, giving the ninja some breathing room, "You believe me?" Of course it was the truth, but there was no way of knowing if the travel had somehow warped your way of thinking.
"You just watched me turn into a dragon before your eyes, and you're going to ask me if I think time travel is possible?"
"Fair point," he wasn't going to bother correcting you on the smaller details, less he wish to get bit, scratched, or barbecued- whatever it was you were able to do in this form. Sasuke flinched as you let out a long deep breath, before shifting back to normal human. Your dragon scales stood up on end, much like a dogs fur would if it had its hackles raised, before they simply just dispersed in a puff and floated up into the air like a hoard of migrating butterflies, only to disappear into a dust that reflected the moonlight. He looked back down at you as your scales disappeared into the night, and immediately regretted his decision. You were completely nude.
"I'm so sorry!" He covering his eyes, causing his glasses to push up higher against his face before he turned around and gave you his back. You simply blinked and picked up the robes that had been gifted to you by Mitsunari and redressed, "You can look now."
Sasuke peaked slightly through his hands and feigned a cough when he saw you were indeed completely dressed again, "Yes well...I have devised a way to predict when these wormholes will appear, it is why I was at the monument that night- to see if my hypothesis was correct."
"Sounds great, so when's our next ticket home?" You didn't bother pretending to be excited. You felt like he got you into this mess, so he should get you out of it.
"That I do not know-"
You growled.
"Yet!" He raised his hands up in a reflexive effort to calm you, "I was only able to predict the wormhole that got us here three months in advance and I have yet to find any evidence of another one appearing anytime soon."
You calmed as he gave you an explanation. Sounded reasonable enough.
You perked when you heard your name being called, and your gave a sharp look in the direction it had come from, before pushing Sasuke into the foliage in the opposite direction, "Keep in touch," you stated simply before turning your back to him and returning to the center of the small clearing.
"Where are you? Come out!" You recognized Hideyoshi's voice. You heard a simple rustle of leaves before silence, and you assumed that, just like that, Sasuke had disappeared into the night.
You remained in the clearing till the sound of galloping horses got closer, "There you are!" You looked first at Hideyoshi, then to the person who had accompanied him, before looking back at the chestnut-haired warlord, "I searched the whole forest for you."
You tilted your head innocently though your voice still showed your distrust of them, "How sweet-"
"Hiding yourself from Lord Nobunaga for no reason what so ever," he began to berate you, "How insolent can you get?"
"I wasn't hiding," you corrected, "I was running, and I didn't ask for you to come find me."
The man on the other horse laughed at this, gaining your attention. He was another raven haired man, dressed in blues, blacks, and gold, with an eye patch over his right eye, "What a stalwart lass indeed. I have no doubt you are the woman who defied Lord Nobunaga."
"Oh, you're making me blush," you said sarcastically, "Are you someone else I'm supposed to recognize?"
The one eyed man snickered and extended a hand to reach for you, "I'd be pleased if you did, but now's not the best time to talk."
You stepped back out of his reach, only to bump into Hideyoshi's horse. The animal did not move but you whipped around see what it was you bumped into and the answer made you back up again towards the strange pirate man.
"Hey!" He grabbed a hold of your arm and pulled you up, "let me go!" You bared your teeth at him as he tucked you snugly against his chest so you sat sideways between him and the horses neck.
"Oh put the fangs away, I'm Masamune Date. Remember it, lass."
You subconsciously raised your hand to feel your teeth, worried for a moment that your fangs were indeed showing before your attention went to Hideyoshi as he spoke, "Masamune is head if the noble Date family of Oshu. He's also allied with Lord Nobunaga, so show some respect."
You rolled your eyes, "It's a pleasure, can you put me down now?"
"Settle down, you'll spook the horse," you captor smirked down at you. Oh you were going to do a lot more than spook the horse if he didn't let you go. Your brief moment of silence is all he needed to urge the horse to go forward with a snap of the reins and a shout.
"Hey wait!" Horseback riding was not something you were accustomed to, normally if you wanted to get around you either walked or flew, you didn't even like taxis or buses - too small and they made you claustrophobic.
"Dont loose her, Masamune!"
"I won't," he adjusted you so you were tucked more tightly against him, "Hold on tight," as the horses speed picked up, you didn't need to be told twice to hold on and you clung to the one eyed warlord like a frightened cat.
You all rode through the night and after some time you grew bored of clinging for dear life, so you adjusted your sitting position and held on to the horses mane. You enjoyed the wind that blew past you, and if you closed your eyes you could almost pretend you were flying- almost, had riding a galloping horse not been so rough.
When you arrived at your destination you were in awe of the structure before you- it was like a fortress, a city, and a castle all rolled into one.
"We're here," Masamune announced, "Azuchi Castle, home of the Oda forces." You looked around in awe. This place looked like you had jumped right into a movie set. "Don't show yourself to Lord Nobunaga like that, you look like a gaping frog."
Stupid Hideyoshi. You promptly snapped your mouth shut in favor of gritting your teeth and shooting him a glare. "So your a morning person," Masamune speaking into your ear sent a surprised shock down you spine, "I'll be sure to keep that in mind."
"Oh buzz off!" You had completely forgotten he was still holding you, but you took the opportunity to slap him in the chest.
"Oh? But I quite like where you are right now."
"Masamune-" Hideyoshi reprimanded his fellow warlord, "Nobunaga has taken an interest in her, so keep your hands off."
"Listen you two-" you were cut off by the sound of squealing women.
"Hideyoshi! Welcome back!"
"Over here Hideyoshi!"
"Oh Masamune, you're dashing as ever! Who's your friend?"
You growled slightly at being noticed and subconsciously hid your face in Masamune's chest. Surely you hadn't thought you could hide in plain view, but you really didn't want this interaction to happen - you were tired, agitated, and not in the mood for having to deal with so many people at once.
"Oh! Is she shy?!" One of them gushed and brought her hands to her chest.
"More like antisocial," Hideyoshi took a quiet jab at you with a small chuckle before dismounting his horse and walking towards the crowd of women. Masamune laughed at your behest, and you peaked your head out slightly to watch, before sticking your tongue out at Hidayoshi for a brief moment. You half hoped the group was as viscous as the girls back in your time could get, and that he would simply just disappear into the crowd, but of course we can't all get what we want.
"I've told you there's no need to come all the way to the gate for me. What about your work?" Hideyoshi's tone with then was vastly different compared to the way he addressed you.
"I finished early so I could see you when you come back," one of the women replied. You groaned and rolled your eyes in an exhausted manor before burrowing your face back in Masamune's chest - an action that was met by another laugh, "Jealous, lass?"
You scoffed, "Annoyed," you crossed your arms, which looked a bit silly with you hiding your face so determinedly, "Don't like large group interactions."
"Welcome back, Lord Hideyoshi, Lord Masamune," you visibly perked up at the sound if Mitsunari's voice.
'Sweet angel from up above, get me out of here!'
"Even Ieyasu came out to say hi. That's rare." You hadn't noticed the man standing a bit behind Mitsunari in the shadows, "Ieyasu?"
"Right there," Masamune wrapped a hand around your shoulder as he pointed at the man with his other hand, he was fair skinned, and blond, with green eyes, and wore clothes in varying hues of yellow and orange, "That sourpuss next to Mitsunari. You should take this chance to say hi." Masamune then released you and dismounted the horse, before offering a hand to help you down. You examined him for a moment, deciding that he may be flirty, but he's not so bad before you took his hand and allowed him to aid you. Besides, you can't stay prickly for long if you're going to be staying here for an indefinite amount of time. Masamune took your hand and stepped forward, giving you the opportunity to place your hands on his shoulders before his made their way to your waist to pick you up and place you firmly on the ground.
"Thank you." You gave a polite nod to him before making your way towards Mitsunari and Ieyasu. Masamune merely nodded in response, not quite sure how to handle your rapid changes in demeanor. First you had the temper of the Devil, then you acted all shy and timid around that group of girls, and now you seemed so polite and regal as you passed he and Hideyoshi.
You held your head high, back straight, arms held together infront of you so your hands were hidden under the long loose sleeves, and walked heel-toe, making it seem as though you were gliding as opposed to walking. You gave Mitsunari a small soft smile, aside from that small hiccup during your first encounter, he had been the only one who was nice to you.
"Mitsunari," you greeted.
"I have been expecting your arrival, Milady." He greeted you back with a smile of his own. You opened you mouth to speak when Ieyasu interrupted.
"She looks pitiful," he spoke over you with a disapproving frown, as if whatever it was you were about to say wasn't important.
You looked at him through the corner of your eye and your sass reared its prickly little head again, "You should watch your nasty attitude, or it'll rot whatever beauty you have left," you turned up your nose at him, "However little that may be." Surely with an attitude like that his beauty was only superficial. Granted, you hadn't been the nicest since you got here, but you think you deserved a free pass having been ripped away from your life and thrown into the Sengoku period by a random wormhole.
"Both of you!" Hideyoshi came up from behind you to reprimand you both, "That is no way to greet someone, can't you at least give eachother a smile?"
"Can he?" Masamune followed close behind, "I'm not sure I've seen him do it." You huffed, "Well I was being nice, and giving them both a smile- he started it."
"How mature-" Ieyasu attempted to jab back till he snapped his mouth shut to bite back a fit of laughs, "S-stop it!" Hideyoshi and Masamune were attempting to tickle the blond, and it worked till he managed to wiggle out of their grasp, "You're both just annoying me!"
You tilted you head curiously at the display before you, till Mitsunari came around behind you and spoke to you in a low voice, "Like Lord Masamune and Lord Hideyoshi, Lord Ieyasu is allied with Lord Nobunaga." You turned to look at him, "Like the others, he came as soon as he heard there was an assasination attempt." That explained a lot.
"Everyone!" Mitsunari broke away from you to stand in the middle of the small group you and the other warlords had formed, "Shall we save the happy reunion until after our new arrivals get some rest?"
"Save yourself, Mitsunari. I'm not remotely happy about any of this." Well at least you could agree with Ieyasu about one thing.
"Oh. My apologies," the confused silver haired warlord attempted to clarify, "Then lets simply not stand around and talk outside," Mitsunari turned around to look at you, "Milady, the room you will be staying in is already prepared." Wonderful, "Please get some rest."
Mitsunari was kind enough to lead you through Azuchi Castle to your room, while the others broke off to take care of business. You were surprised when he opened a pair of sliding doors to bring your room into view- it was small, yet spacious, though that probably had to do with the fact that the furniture was not as large or clunky as some of the furnishings from your time could get. Everything was simple in shape, held a classic antique look, and was still extravagant, reminding you once more that this was the Castle of a very successful warlord.
"This room is yours to use as you like," Mitsunari gestured for you to walk in and have a look around, which you so gladly did, "I hope it's enough for you."
You blinked in amazement as you took in the finer details, slowly spinning around as you studied the room in its entirety. The lavish artistry that covered the more solid walls and the cieling, the care that went into the placement of everything, "It's more than I could've asked for." You turned to look at Mitsunari an excited smile on your face, "And you don't have to address me so formally."
"But you are a Lady, and Lord Nobunaga's savior. I couldn't possibly-" you cut him off with a wave of your hand, "Fancy titles mean nothing to me, just a means of establishing hierarchy. Which I also don't care for."
"Then I agree, on the condition that you stay as familiar with me, is that all right?" He gave a friendly smile, one that you returned, "A wonderful idea," he made you feel so happy. Must be his calm and upbeat aura.
"Thank you," he nodded gratefully, "Now take your leisure. Someone will come fetch you soon." Mitsunari gave one last smile before turning to exit the room, and close the sliding doors behind him.
You briefly wondered when you would receive word from Sasuke about a way home. What would the signs be that a new wormhole was approaching? How would he get in touch with you? With a sigh, you decided it best not to spoil your moment of piece by stressing yourself out. It was then that you noticed two other large sliding doors towards the back of your room, opposite to the entrance. Another room? You made your way over to the doors and slowly opened them. A balcony? You smiled widely, happy you would have quick access to the outside world incase you wished to take a midnight flight. Again you paused in thought, wondering how long it would take for someone to come get you, perhaps you could shift and stretch yourself out to relax. Was this room even big enough? You closed the balcony doors and glanced around your quarters, taking a mental note of how big you thought it was. The cieling seemed pretty high, and the parameter of the room itself seemed wide enough - save for the furniture, which again, didn't take up much space anyways.
You sat down on the sleeping mat in the center of your room, crossing your legs before loosening the ties on your kimono, closing your eyes, and breathing deeply. The shift was quick and effortless, no struggle or pain, with the only sign of it being a small thump on the wall from your body hitting it. You opened your eyes and looked around, the room seemed a lot smaller now, with the sound of your horns scraping the cieling reaching your ears. You glanced up and huffed - your antler-like horns would scuff and scratch the cieling, leaveing grooves if you moved in almost any direction, and that was with your head tucked firmly against you as you rested it in your back. Your long body seemed to wrap around the room at least three times, and you were a bit snug to say the least, and you couldn't see the floor at all beneath you. Your form practically took up the entire room. The tip of your tail flicked up and down, much like the tail of a cat in contemplation and a deep guttural rumble came from your throat, 'So much for stretching out...'
Your thoughts were interrupted by a small knock on one of the cieling panels and you looked up wide-eyed, worried that this was the moment you would be found out. Thankfully, you were only met face to snout with Sasuke, "Excuse me-" he froze, looking at you wide-eyed, "You seem packed in here like a sardine," he jested, earning a small grumble from you.
You attempted to shift and get into a more comfortable position to look at him, but your horns thumped against the cieling tiles and startled you with the volume of noise it made. Sasuke also momentarily freaked out, trying to move out of the way so's not to get impaled and nearly fell backwards deeper into the cieling, "Shh! No don't move!" He spoke as quietly as possible while also trying to be sure you would hear him. You promptly froze at his words.
"Why don't you just turn back?"
You looked up at him with a subtle glare and he remembered what happened back in the forest, "R-right, sorry."
"Did you follow me here?" You were quick to change the subject for his own comfort. "Yes," his demeanor effortlessly shifted back to professional, "I hid myself when those men arrived and followed your trail."
"Glad you did," your tail thumped once, "I had been wondering how you would get in contact with me."
He nodded, "Yes, I've also pieced together much of what's happened to you since you got here by watching you. You've gotten yourself into some trouble."
You scoffed, "Its nothing I can't handle, I assure you." What problem couldn't be solved by setting it on fire? Probably a lot of them, but if anyone tried to hurt you it wasn't exactly like your were the helpless dame the Oda forces believed you to be, "Besides, I'm sure you've been through your fair share of trouble," you chuckled. There was a moment of silence, "Sorry," Sasuke exhaled stiffly, "I'm still trying to come to terms with..." he looked at your body spread all around the room before his gaze went back to look you in the eyes, "all this."
You chuffed, "It's fine. Any news about our way home?" He shook his head dejectedly, "Not yet, I just wanted to be sure you would be alright here though," he placed a hand over his chest, "Sould you ever feel unsafe, please, just let me know and I will see what I can do to get you out of here."
"Oh please," you stubbornly looked away, "these men are many things- rude, bold, and flirty, but a threat I think not."
"Please don't forget," Sasuke warned you, "these are warlords miss, and while I don't question whatever power you may have, they shouldn't be taken lightly either."
"Duly noted-" your conversation was cut short by the sound of steps just outside your door.
"I'll be in touch," Sasuke quickly stated before closing the panel he had been speaking through. There was a knock at your door, to which you quickly responded, "I'm not decent!"
You wiggled your tail and cracked open the balcony doors before shifting back into a human, with your dragon form disintegrating into a horde of fluttering scales again, just as it had done in the forest, and they flowed out the open door to follow the wind before disappearing into a cloud of glittery dust. You hastily threw on the kimono you were wearing earlier before rushing to the door with a hand keeping the robe-like garb shut, "Can I help you-" you opened the sliding door out into the hall, "Mitsuhide?"
"I see you weren't able to get away from Nobunaga after all." You stared at him blankly, "He's calling for you," the white haired man continued, "Nobunaga that is. He wants to see you."
You nodded in response, "Give me a moment to better dress myself then," you shut the door without giving him a chance to respond, before walking over to the discarded pile of clothes in the center of the room. It took little time for you to get redressed, though to be honest you probably hadn't put everything on perfectly, but you didn't care. "Okay," you opened the door once again to follow Mitsuhide out and allowed him to lead you to wherever Nobunaga was.
You took this time to examine the interior of the building, making sure to try and memorize anything special that may better help you learn your way around, "You'll damage them if you continue to hold them so tightly."
You raised a brow inquisitively at him till he reached for your hand and pulled it up. You hadn't noticed you were squeezing them so tightly. Probably a nervous tick of some sort from your mind being cluttered with so many thoughts. Your mind went blank when he pulled your hand up and kissed the back of it,'Excuse me?'
"Trying to calm you down," he looked at you through his lashes and smiled mischievously before gently releasing you hand. Okay, but there were many other ways to do it that weren't that, "Well it didn't work, if anything you made it worse."
"Forgive me."
'Fuck you.' The two of you continued down the many halls and corridors, till you reached a pair of giant sliding doors. Mitsuhide didn't waste time opening the doors, "You kept me waiting," you recognized Nobunaga's voice from the otherside of the room. However, he was not the one to catch your attention first. The first thing your eyes were drawn to was the two rows that were formed to either side of him by the other warlords. Seems like they were having a meeting, "Dont just stand there," Nobunaga interrupted your thoughts, "Approach me."
You looked at Nobunaga with sharp eyes before walking towards him. There was a sitting mat a few feet in front of him, but you didn't sit, even when the raven haired man gestured for you to do so. He merely chuckled at your resilience and raised a hand when Hideyoshi moved to use force, "You are a stubborn one."
"Thank you," you crossed your arms, "Even at home, I bowed to no man." Nobunaga waved off your explanation, "You will reside in this castle," his statement was final, "and while you do so, you will give your service to me."
"I think you misunderstand, my shows of rejection, I'm not playing hard to get, I'm giving you a clear 'No'."
"Details, details, none of that matters to me. All you meed to say is 'Yes'," he didn't seem like he was budging, and for a second you thought about what would happen if you were to run again. I mean- theoretically speaking, they probably wouldn't be able to catch you. But you didn't want to spend your indefinite amount of time here on the constant run or being hunted. And if you ran and kept up your appearance as a normal human, what would he do then? Lock you in a dungeon? You sighed in an agitated manor, and you could have sworn you saw a smile begin to tug at the corners of Nobunaga's mouth as you begrudgingly took your seat on the mat infront of him, "Fine, but just for the sake of knowing what I'm getting into, how exactly am I supposed to serve you?"
"Your only duty," he grabbed your wrist before you could even register what was happening and pulled you closer to him, "is to stay nearby. That is what I need of you. You will be my lucky charm as I unify this nation and all that lies beyond." Ah yes, this again.
"You want me around because you think I'm lucky," you tried not to snicker. "Yes," he didn't seem to be joking, infact he was comically serious, "And don't fear. You shall be known as a princess from afar and will be treated as such. Spend your days on makeup, or cards and games if it suits you." Well now that couldn't be so bad. You would never admit it outloud, but dragons could be overwhelmingly vein creatures and it would help if you had someone to help tend to you. Of course, you wouldn't tell them about your....affliction, but the knowledge of having someone at your beck and call was nice it would help out a lot. You glance around the council room to gauge everyone's reactions, before returning your gaze to Nobunaga, "I have a few demands."
"Name them," Nobunaga seemed pleased, though the look disappeared from his face for a fraction of a second when you managed to easily yank your hand away - nearly making him fall forward in the process. "I am to have free roam of the castle, and the city," from the corner of your eye, Hideyoshi looked like he was about to protest, "But if we are to go along with the guise of you as a princess," Nobunaga interjected, "You will need a guard, and a curfew." Of course this guard probably served as more of a spy than anything else, and the curfew could be easily worked around... Fair and easy to deal with, "Fine, I'll accept the guard and the curfew. I assume this castle has a garden?" The raven haired leader nodded, "I can go there at anytime I please, even at night."
"Ridiculous!" Hideyoshi didn't like the idea of you sneaking around the castle at night, you merely shrugged, "Assign two guards, a day shift and a night shift one- I'll even accept only being able to go from my room to the garden and back if I must," you remained relaxed in your seat. Nobunaga nodded, "Then those will be your restrictions as far as that goes, and you shall come whenever I call."
You held back a growl, "Fair enough," you held your hand out for a shake, and Nobunaga looked at it like it was an odd gesture. He was aware of what it was, but was perplexed as to why you were doing it, "Where I'm from, a hand shake is both a friendly gesture, and a means of symbolizing a mutual agreement between two parties- think of it as a pinky promise, but for adults." Nobunaga chuckled and nodded, you certainly didn't handle yourself like the women of his time but it only made you more intriguing to him. He extended a hand out and shook your hand before you both pulled them back to your lap.
Masamune was holding back a fit of giggles the entire time as he leaned over to Hideyoshi, "I can't believe she just bargained with Lord Nobunaga. Though her requests seem trivial I'm sure that they aren't as simple as she made them seem." Hideyoshi hands balled into fists, he was sure Masamune hadn't ment it to sound the way it did, but it got him thinking, "Lord Nobunaga, I would like to volunteer as her Guard during her outings around town." You glanced at him through the corner if your eye, damn, had it been someone who wasn't in this room they might have been easy to loose or scare off. Nobunaga glanced at him with a raised brow, "Hideyoshi?" Before Nobunaga could object to having his right hand reduced to princess babysitter, you interjected while staring the brunette in the eye, "It doesn't matter who the guard is, if Hideyoshi wants to do it, then let him," you turned your gaze back to the warlord infront of you.
"So she's just going to live here and do nothing," Ieyasu tsked, "How could this waif possibly be of any use?" You opened you mouth to retort before you were cut off by Hideyoshi, "It's Lord Nobunaga's decision, Ieyasu. Hold your tongue," finally! Some traction! "Though," Hideyoshi continued, "only time will tell if we can trust her." That was fair enough, you already figured that was the reason why Hideyoshi volunteered to be your guard- or why they bothered giving you a guard at all. So someone could keep tabs on you.
While you were lost in thought, Nobunaga had taken the liberty of taking a hold of your chin between his index finger and thumb and lifted it slightly, making you look at him in the eye. You were caught off guard to say the least, manners were going to be something you were determined to teach this man, "I plan on taking very good care of you, my princess." Your eyes flickered for a split second at his declaration - changing from their normal round pupils and ordinary iris coloration to the thin slits and vibrant hues of your dragon form, before reverting back to normal. He thought it had been a trick of the light, "You can look" you smacked his hand away, "but don't touch."
Nobunaga chuckled at your response, but Hideyoshi wasn't laughing, "You!" He called out before lunging at you, "how dare you be so rude to Lord Nobunaga!" You quickly shifted from sitting to a crouching position, but luckily for the both of you, Masamune and Mitsunari held Hideyoshi back, "Now you've done it, lass! Best apologize to Hideyoshi!" You watched the three men struggle and huffed, stubbornly looking away, "I thought being offended for other people was a trait exclusive to my generation."
"That's enough," Nobunaga's voice cut through the commotion. Hideyoshi lowered his fighting stance on command, and Masamune and Mitsunari returned to their seats as soon as they were sure Hideyoshi's threat had passed, "The next time you raise a hand towards Lord Nobunaga-" Hideyoshi warned.
"You'll what?!" You snarled at him with a snap of your teeth. "I will cut you down where you stand," Hideyoshi threateningly got in your face, but you stood your ground, "I'd like to see you try."
"I said enough," Nobunaga's words once again cut through the commotion and silenced the both of you, "My apologies, my Lord," Hideyoshi submissively bowed to him, an action you did not follow and only responded with a simple, "Sorry." This was going to be a long stay....
Trust - Yvette Short Story
(a continuation of Empathy)
"The largest cell in the human body is the female egg while the smallest is the male sperm. Now, I..."
I sigh boredly, my ears automatically tuning out the professor's blabbering. I have decided to return back to medical school after the whole assassin versus demon thing. It was an interesting experience to go through and a definite wake-up call for me. Seeing Wrath and her troupe protecting people from demons reminded me of the reason why I had joined medical school; which is to save lives.
Oh please MC, the last push to go back is because of Yvette's interest in biology too.
Speaking of her, it has been more than two weeks since that fight between Wrath and her happened. Things eventually go back to the way they used to be; with no more demons to chase after me, no more powerful assassins to protect my weak ass; no more chaos. I should be happy that I don't have to live in fear anymore.
But somehow, that feeling just never comes.
Instead, I'm stuck with a longingness in my chest, for a certain green-haired girl that has probably forgotten about me. Her gorgeous features ingrained in my memory, there is never a time when her face doesn't pop up in my head.
I doubt Yvette's gonna bother you anymore after getting what she wants. You can go back to your normal life now. Wrath's previous words sink in my head, and I release another breath of defeat.
"You okay?" Serena, my classmate, asks. "You've sighed like fifty times today."
I sigh again. "I'm just...tired. The class is so dry."
"I know, but what do you expect from studying in a medical school?" Serena offers an apologetic smile. "Just hang on for a few more hours."
"Ugh, I can't wait to graduate."
"Feeling's mutual."
When the bell rings to signal the end of school, I mutter a quiet 'yes' before packing my stuff into my bag. Saying a quick 'bye' to Serena, I head back to my dorm.
Being in medical school means there's a need to understand rich content from a heap of thick textbooks, so I'm required to lock myself up in my room and revise daily. Tedious, but it will be worth it in the end.
As I inch closer to my dormitory, a dark trail of green catches my attention. Out of curiosity, I follow the path.
It leads me through a narrow and dimmed alley, taking me further and further away from the sunlit pavement. I take a right turn, stopping in my tracks when I reach a dead end. The strange trail discontinues too, with no other traces in sight.
I decide to examine the green goo, racking my brain for answers as to what has caused this. A faint memory resurfaces, causing the blood in my veins to run cold.
Could it be...?
My stomach churns sickly at the first thought that comes to my mind.
Demon's blood.
"But how?" I mumble to myself, so deep in consideration that I don't realise that I'm not alone anymore.
Heavy footsteps can be heard behind me, and I turn to be met with two strangers. They block the only pathway, leaving no available space to escape.
"Uh, can I help the both of you?" I ask, apparently talking to the walls since they refuse to reply.
A smile spread across their faces; too wide for me to feel comfortable in their presence.
They start to approach me.
"Stop right there!"
They do as I say, still wearing that abnormally large smile. Their eyelids begin to stretch out, revealing huge eyeballs that threaten to pop out. Thin, green veins emerge into sight, spreading far and wide on every inch of skin. Saliva dripping down their mouths, they let out a loud, aggressive growl.
Ah shit, here we go again.
I yell for help when one of them dashes towards me, shoving me hard. Tumbling backwards, my head hits the wall.
Pain penetrates my head like a bullet; darkness engulfs my vision.
~~~
I wake up to the feeling of a soft mattress underneath me. Lifting my hand to my forehead, I feel the material of gauze bandage.
Wha-what happened? Where am I?
"I told you to bring her here, not break her fucking head!" a female voice booms, the familiarity of it igniting every muscle in me.
It's her.
My body snaps up, the quick motion causing a spike of pain to pierce through my head. I gasp, my hand instinctively flying to the back of my head.
The mattress sinks as two warm, gloved hands hold my shoulders to guide me back to the bed. "You need to rest MC."
Obliging, my head rests on the soft pillow again. The tension between my brows leaves and I slowly open my eyes. Air leaves my lungs as my vision clears.
It's none other than the girl that has been running through my mind for the past two weeks.
Yvette.
Seeing her in real life sure relieves the yearning feeling in my heart, and the pain in my head slowly dissipates. I don't hold back a wide grin.
"I...thought I'd never see you again," I speak, a little out of breath.
She smiles endearingly, shrugging. "I thought so too. But here we are."
I stay silent, taking the moment to admire the view before me. The girl's healing from her encounter with Wrath, which is a good sign. A cut on her lip and a square bandage on the right side of her head are still visible, but other than that, Yvette is beautiful as ever.
A cough breaks me out of my trance, and the green-haired girl's not looking at me anymore. A hint of pink colours her tanned cheeks.
Oh my god, she's so cute. Wait, stop it MC, you're making things awkward!
"Sorry, um, It's great that you're healing well."
"Yeah. Now it's your turn." Yvette offers a sympathetic smile. "Sorry about your head. I couldn't contact you or find you at the bike shop. So I sent them to search for you."
"Well, my phone broke after the whole incident, and I've decided to go back to medical school," I explain, sputtering the next sentence unintentionally. "I thought you wouldn't need me after you got the charm."
Yvette blinks at me. "You'd think so lowly of me?"
"No! As in...I thought you would forget about me eventually."
"I would never. Especially when you've helped me immensely."
It's my turn to blink blankly. "I didn't do much though. I was like a damsel in distress."
Yvette strokes my hair out of the way, offering a lingering look that makes my heart do somersaults. "You defended me when no one else would."
"I had to! You looked close to death when you were on the gr-"
"You helped drag the time while I was catching my breath!" the girl defends her ego, in which I roll my eyes amusedly.
"Sure Yvette, whatever you say."
She lets out a laugh, one that sounds so melodic and lovely that it makes the temperature in the room warmer. It is surely a tune that I would love to hear everyday.
"Do you want anything? Water or some snacks?"
"A glass of water sounds nice."
Yvette turns her attention to the regretful-looking demon who pushed me previously. "You heard her. Get me a glass of water. Now."
The demon straightens his posture and nods his head, quickly leaving the room.
"Do demons actually have feelings?"
"Of course. Remember? I'm a demon too," Yvette reminds, a sad smile settling on her face.
Way to go MC. You just made your crush sad.
"Right, I should just keep my mouth shut. Or you could just throw me out now."
A teasing smile returns on Yvette. "I could never get rid of a cutie like you," she teases, pinching my cheek lightly.
I fluster.
"Wa-err," the demon utters, his quiet entrance startling me.
Indifferent, Yvette takes the glass and shoos him. She then aids me in sitting up as I drink my water. The domestic gesture warms my heart.
She's not that horrible person Wrath have described to me. In fact, Yvette's caring nature reminds me of a kind doctor who takes care of her patients dutifully.
"Thanks doc," I playfully comment. "I could get used to this."
"Taking advantage are we?"
I smile innocently. "Just a little."
The woman reciprocates the smile and puts away the glass once I'm done. I shift myself so that I can lean on the bedframe, and Yvette does the same as well, our shoulders brushing against each other.
"How's school so far?"
I update Yvette on the modules I'm currently taking and the upcoming tests I have, not failing to mention that much memory power is needed to survive medical school.
"If you like, I can tutor you," the girl offers.
"Really? That'll help a lot."
I hand my new phone to Yvette for her to enter her number. This reminds me of the first time I successfully asked a girl for her number; the experience both nerve-racking and exhilarating.
We then move on to more serious topics; of the reason why she needed my charm.
"That...I can't tell you. I've agreed to keep this deal with the demons strictly confidential," Yvette explains with a frown. "But I can assure you that your charm will help me greatly."
Hopefully my charm isn't some key to demon domination, or the troupe will come for my head. But Yvette said that it will benefit her, so maybe...it will get rid of the demon essence in her?
Yvette's deepening frown brings me back to reality. Her eyes are studying me, wary of any change of emotions. "Look MC, I'd love to give you an explanation, but-"
"I understand," I cut off the girl, offering a reassuring smile and daring to hold her gloved hand. "I trust you."
Silence fills the air. The girl gazes at me, her eyes a mixture of wonder and vulnerability.
At times like these, where the girl is just silent, I wish I could know what she's thinking about. What she thinks of me. Her impression of me.
"You do?" she asks, tone full of uncertainty.
I ponder.
Do I? Yvette's an intelligent person, and I trust that everything she does, is for a logical reason.
The only concern I have is the intensity of it; of how easily I let myself to trust someone I don't know well; someone with intentions that I have no clue about. It might be to my demise, or benefit; whichever rules out the other.
Returning the gaze, I see myself in Yvette's emerald eyes. The sight of white bandage around my head reminds me that the girl has been nothing but kind to me.
...I'll take my chances.
"I do."
Yvette releases a breath, as if she has been holding it for a while. She interlocks our fingers together, sparking a connection between us. A smile tugs on her lips and her eyes are bright with gratitude and hope.
"I'll make sure that it won't die down."
We spend the rest of the day bantering happily.

It Was Worth Trying by MidnightLightHowlite | Art by Misa
Rating: General Audiences
Seeing Dazai float face down in a river was not all that unusual. True, it hadn't happened in four years, but the view was not exactly a foreign one. No, what was foreign was the fact that Dazai seemed to be shorter. And younger. And didn't remember him. In retrospect, Chuuya probably shouldn't have let the boy call Mori because that allowed his boss to put him on babysitting duty.
(Or Dazai gets deaged. No romance will happen till they are both the same age again.)
Bandaged Sheep by MidnightLightHowlite | Art by Abel
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
There had been something very weird, very off about the new recruit. He had popped up out of thin air a few months ago, wrapped from head to toe in bandages. Not a word of what he did before, saying he wanted to join the sheep. He wasn't strong or skilled, and truly, there was no logical reason for Chuuya to pay him any mind.
But then the Port Mafia put a huge bounty on his head and things started to get interesting
these days, you’re fine by AquarianTwin | Art by Nella
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Fifth-grade classmates Q and Aya are convinced that their older brothers would make a perfect pair if they’d just stop fighting for five minutes. Dazai and Chuuya, who have been dating for over a year, find this too funny to correct them.
Dazai takes in his younger sibling, Q, after they’re removed from their father’s home. Overwhelmed by the responsibility of raising of a child when he can barely keep himself alive some days, Dazai leans on his partner, Chuuya, to help lead him through. It’s a good thing Q gets along so well with Chuuya’s younger sister, but Dazai thinks he might die of laughter if the pair try to “secretly” set him up on another date with his own boyfriend.
Project Pinocchio by EKmisao | Art by Ginny

What kept the youngest mafia executive alive enough was a new file, on a newly-acquired powerful cyborg. It started as a project to keep a cyborg a boy. It became more than he expected.

Chuuya laid in the hospital bed, his consciousness slipping away slowly as he patiently awaited his demise. The doctors had assured him he wouldn't feel a thing but for some reason he couldn't shake this feeling his chest. An subtle pain which at this point had coaxed his stomach into a frenzy. Something was wrong but there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it.
In Isolation He Thrived by Maddy | Art by Leo
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
All his life Dazai felt like a tool, a pawn that was just tossed aside when not needed. He was looked down on and felt useless, so slowly a fire ignited within him and turned him into a merciless person also well known as a "Soulless Demon".
He always believed he was destined to do wrong until one day when he finds Chuuya who proves him wrong.

“I used Corruption because I trusted you,” Chuuya gasps out, and the words leave a hole the size of Yokohama in his chest. He punches Dazai right where that hole is and hopes it hurts him just as much as it hurts Chuuya.
Dazai smiles. He catches him when his vision finally goes dark and the next thing Chuuya wakes to is emptiness in his heart and a stack of neatly folded clothes.

Dazai stared at his subordinate and the white tiger passed out on the ground, dismayed. It almost worked. This was the fourth person they've went to. There was one more person Dazai could take Atsushi to but he had enough reason to guess that it wouldn't work.
Dazai made a face.
There was one person Dazai knew who could do the job. He'd successfully commit suicide though before that gremlin ever found out he had such thoughts. The taste of metallic filled his mouth. He held in the urge to spit it out.
His ears rang as he imagined a shrieking voice yelling his name like it was the worst insult one could come up with and the mirage of fire that surrounded those blue eyes and foul mouth. Ugh, he was so annoying even in his imagination...and short.
Sticking a pinky into his ear to clear out the haunting voice, Dazai went about gathering up his apprentice and the tiger. Maybe fate would take pity on him and this next trip would solve their problem...
He could feel the cursed blood laughing at him all the way back to their hotel room.
Or a magical AU where Dazai inadvertently gets Atsushi cursed and they have to go to Chuuya, a powerful witch in his own right, to break it.

The transition Dazai and Chuuya routinely make between their heated arguing and completely seamless teamwork is being disrupted by their changing relationship. Which is an issue, because the two of them have been assigned to what could possibly be the most important undercover mission of their careers. Will they be able to strengthen their partnership for the better, or will it crack under the ever growing pressure?

Your Beauty and Beast (Camila G!p, werewolf AU) CH. 1
Lauren stumbled clumsily into a dark alley. She wasn't drunk, no she was- but she might be high. She honestly couldn't remember what happened.
It was dark- really really dark. And her eyes had to adjust to the surroundings, a huge silhouette caught her vision and she had to back off. It was a man. Definitely a man.
Oh that man was walking towards her. Now that her eyes adjusted to the dark, she could see him half naked, his jeans were on but they were hanging pretty loosely. He was ripped, Lauren could give him that and his eyes looked like they were glowing as he stared at Lauren hungrily.
A growl left him and he pounced on her.
She yelped and covered her face with her arms but the fall of the man never met with her.
She opened her eyes and they widened at the sight of a large wolf, she was sure this one was a werewolf. It had dark brown fur and it was as tall as Lauren's waist.
It was growling loudly at the man who was atleast 6 foot tall, it had the guy pinned to the ground. It pawed the man's face and nipped at him.
"No no no. I'm sorry I'm sorry. I didn't know Alpha." The man pleaded.
Oh fuck. She didn't know if it was good luck or bad luck that an alpha werewolf had protected her.
Werewolves were discovered over a century ago and humanity had already grown accustomed to them as normal beings that roamed Earth. There were of course certain laws that made everything extra peaceful like for example, Werewolves couldn't force humans to be their slaves and it was vice versa to the people who had tried to kidnap cubs to be trained at a young age to be personal slaves. Every other law werewolves were made to follow and half a century ago, there was a huge debate on letting werewolves marry humans legally.
It wasn't like there were a lot of werewolves though. Only 10% were there that lived amongst humans and that was because they were previously hunted to be experimented and used. When they had revealed their existence to the public, they threatned to take over the world if they weren't treated fairly.
Lauren was given basic education about werewolves during grade school. The usual ladder of alphas who were the leaders, betas that were the second in command and the omegas who were the bottom of the barrel. She knew that they stayed in closed packs and that they had mates.
Speaking of mates, she felt very warm when the werewolf had approached her slowly. It's teeth were baring and it's fur had risen on it's neck. It looked at Lauren very intensely with it's Coffee black eyes and then
The damn wolf laid down and rolled around before whimpering near Lauren's feet.
"Umm?"
The wolf gazed at her, almost lovingly and stood up. It cornered her and then stood on it's legs to lay it's paws on her chest. It stared at Lauren's green eyes and she felt it's. Oh. It had a dick. Ohhh.
It was a he?
He licked the side of her neck and the roughness of his tongue made the hairs on the back of her neck stood up.
He whimpered and automatically Lauren smiled. For a giant wolf, he was acting like a small puppy.
"You're a were right..?" She asked, she had sobered up.
The wolf snorted and then looked at her again. It titled it's head to the side.
"Can you shift for me? I want to thank you properly."
She could see the hint of a smirk appear on it's face.
Then it shifted.
The cracking of bones made her cringe but the giant wolf reduced to a smaller size, the fur was replaced by tanned skin and it's head was formed and beautiful curls of dark brown hair slithered down to it's small waist and wait -fuck it was a girl?
And she was naked.
And she had a dick.
Fuck fuck fuck. Lauren covered her eyes and a chuckle, an adorably deep chuckle made her peep.
"You're so fucking cute." The woman in front of her said.
Forget about her body, the woman's face looked like it was sculpted by the greek gods.
A sharp jawline with a sharp nose, luscious lips and eyes, her eyes were the same dark coffee brown from before.
"I'm Camila." the werewolf introduced herself.
She had absolutely no shame in showing off her naked body.
Lauren blushed a deep shade of red and shrugged her leather jacket off. She threw it to Camila who smirked before wearing it.
"I assume you never met a werewolf before?" Camila said as she walked closer to Lauren. She had a smug expression.
She stretched her whole body and grinned when she caught Lauren's eye travelling from her stomach to her long legs.
"We're very confident with our bodies. Miss."
Lauren yanked her eyes away and sighed. "Um.. Can you escort me home and we can talk there properly?"
When Camila raised a brow, she hurriedly replied. "I'm just not that sober right now and who knows what might happen to me on the road."
Brown eyes turned hazel for a moment before Camila nodded her head. She threw the jacket back and shifted.
Lauren decided that she liked both versions.
The growling playful wolf and the confident goddess of a woman.
She was both a beauty and a beast.
She shook her head as she called for a cab, Camila made a show of running beside them. The cab driver was laughing at the sight. He said the wolf looked like a clingy pet running after it's owner.
After they arrived at her apartment, Lauren had to drag Camila by the collar so she wouldn't bite the guard who regularly flirted with her. The wolf was very adamant on keeping Lauren away from the man.
"Why's that?" She asked as she opened the door and Camila walked in like she owned the place.
The werewolf shifted back to her human form and laid down on Lauren's couch, already making herself at home.
"You're my mate." Camila straight forwardly replied, like it was the most obvious thing ever.
Lauren choked in mid air. Mate?!
She wasn't sober enough for this. Nor awake enough.
Camila sensed her distress. "Go sleep. I'll be here when you wake up."
Lauren blinked, "You're not a dream?"
The melodic laughter that Camila released made Lauren warm inside, "No. I still don't know your name and I wouldn't leave before knowing it."
Lauren smiled and walked to Camila, not caring if she was breaking some sort of rule. She curled up in the naked woman's arms and instantly fell asleep.
--
Lauren woke up feeling very comfortable and warm, she was surrounded by.. Fur? She opened her eyes and she had to do a double take. She was in the middle of a wolf, laying across it's side and practically cuddling it's body.
She wasn't complaining, after all the warmth was just perfect. Also the wolf seemed to have two of it's legs around Lauren's body, keeping her secure.
A low.. Purr? Made her look towards the head and then green met brown and Lauren melted.
Puppy eyes. That's what.
She leaned to circle her arms around her neck and hugged tightly. Oh god she was finding an alpha wolf cute.
She heard a crack and the head she was hugging was replaced by a smaller thing, a waist.
Camila looked at her and she smiled. "I don't mind waking up like this everyday."
Lauren blushed and backed away,Camila was naked again and it didn't help that what she was packing was definitely bigger than average.
Camila looked down and smirked, "Do you hate what I have?"
Lauren shook her head vigorously, "I-i don't discriminate."
She heard Camila's laugh bounce off her apartment walls again and she took a peek, Camila had somehow pulled over an old hoodie she had and some booty shorts.
"So what's your name?" Camila asked casually before sitting back down on the couch.
Lauren stood up and made her way to her bedroom, she locked the door to make sure her little friend wouldn't follow and shouted a "LAUREN!"
She heard Camila whimper from the other side, "Don't shout! My senses are 100x better than you humans!"
Lauren leaned against her closet as she shrugged off her clothes. She thoughtfully pulled on a new pair of lacy black panties, "So can you like hear other people peeing?"
Camila laughed again, "I can hear ants talking Lo, I can see, smell and hear fucking emotions and colors."
Lauren exited her room dressed up comfortably in sweats, Camila looked at her curiously, "No Job?"
"It's sunday puppy, people don't work on Sundays." She plopped beside Camila.
Camila scooted closer to her, she could feel her boner because of how close they were. "Not an alpha. Alphas work 24/7, we're always needed for some big thing or little thing and every single thing for the pack."
Lauren listened attentively, despite living with werewolves, it was actually rare to know what they did. The werewolves were too private and they only gave humans the basic knowledge.
"Then why aren't you with your pack right now?"
Camila pulled her closer by the waist, "You're very important Lauren. You're my mate before you are my Pack's Luna. They'll understand plus my beta knows as much as I do. So she'll take care of everything while I'm gone."
"Won't they panic because you just disappeared suddenly?" Camila shook her head.
She smiled softly and whispered, "I'm only telling you this because you are my mate, before you are human, you are my mate. Humans definitely don't know but besides supernatural strength and having a longer lifespan, some pureblood werewolves- those who were born under two werewolves, and if they are direct descendants of the ancient wolves- we acquire certain powers."
Lauren nodded her head in response and so Camila continued, "Dinah and I, that's my beta, we were born as direct descendants of a certain wolf that holds power over other packs. We can communicate by link and by wolf, it's like having another mate. I know stories that you humans make linking seem so common but not even my family can do this. Even when with mates, the only thing you would share would be emotions. Not Dinah and I, we share a soul and a mind. Not like clones, but like soulmates."
"Is that partly the reason why you have a different anatomy?" Lauren whispered back.
Camila laughed again, "Well yes and no. My father was the previous alpha and my mother was supposed to give the pack a male heir as males are usually the alphas. When I was born, everyone rejoiced because I had a penis. It wasn't before sofi was born did my ass and my breasts grew that did they recognize me as a woman."
"I was raised pretty bizzare to say the least, on my first 10 years, I was told that I was a man and they taught me all sorts of masculinity bullshit, but I knew I was different. I preferred books over everything else and I was the smartest kid. It didn't disgrace my father when I was 11 and I shifted to my wolf pretty quickly when regular werewolves were supposed to shift at 16, also when they find their mate. But yeah, my ass grew and my chest did too, even if you don't think so." She glared at Lauren, daring her to comment.
When Lauren kept quiet, she continued. "Anyway after that, my father announced to the pack that I was intersex. They waited for my hair to grow and when they saw my female look- they decided to keep me as alpha and not throw me away as a Luna to the other packs like they usually do with First-born daughters."
Lauren had subconsciously cuddled even closer, she felt so safe and secure in Camila's arms. "How did you know I was your mate?"
Camila pointed to her nose, "Your scent Lauren, usually when I smell people it's just their body but yours was different. I smelt forest and rain and lillies on you, you smelt like a book and kind of like this spice they use for cooking. I also smelt your distress."
"I was attracted immediately." She added with a low tone.
"O-oh."
They fell into a comfortable silence, Lauren felt it was too weird to be this close to someone she had met the night ago but Camila's words registered in her brain and it made sense. They were soulmates. It was only natural.
When Camila's stomach growled loudly, Lauren laughed and stood up to her kitchen. Camila followed behind like a puppy and waited patiently on a stool as Lauren pulled out a steak from her fridge.
She raised a brow and pulled out two more.
"Good call." Camila commented from her side of the counter.
When Lauren had mixed all the spices in the pan and the noise of the grill came to the air, she took a look at Camila and swore she saw ears and a tail that were wagging.
"Your tail is showing."
Camila looked alarmed as she looked back at her ass, there was no tail and she whined. "Hey! We're actually capable of that and I pride myself in keeping a perfect shift okay!"
Lauren laughed as she flipped the steak, "Like those anime things? Where they have girls who have cat ears and tail."
When Camila tilted her head to the side in confusion, Lauren giggled and pulled out her phone to make a quick search. She picked a wolf girl one and showed it to Camila.
The werewolf crinkled her nose at the picture, yeah maybe it was cute but the boobs were too big in her opinion and the smile was just obnoxious and the legs were too thick and everything just looked too shiny and sweaty.
"Can I see you shift like that?"
Camila raised a brow, "Is that a kink for you humans?"
Her red face made Camila laugh, Lauren pouted and placed the now cooked steak in front of the woman.
"How old are you?" Lauren asked once she sat down with her own plate.
Camila chewed and moaned at the taste, sending a delicious tingle up Lauren's spine. "I'm 21 in human years."
In human years? Lauren curiously stared at her until the part wolf sighed. "Fine whatever, I'm like actually 61."
When she saw Lauren's horrified face, she giggled. "I'm kidding I'm actually 21, which is really young for werewolf age. Werewolves use a different calendar and we're 10 years passed Humans. It's so damn annoying."
Lauren sighed in relief, "I'm 22."
Camila finished her food and looked at Lauren's steak which was half gone, "I figured, what do you do for a job baby?"
Lauren choked on her food when she heard the endearment, "B-baby?"
Camila leaned over to wipe her chin, "You know in werewolf terms, we're like girlfriends right now if I mark you then married when we mate."
"M-mark me?"
Camila's eyes glowed golden at the words that escaped Lauren's mouth, she looked at Lauren's neck hungrily.
Camila bit her lower lip, "You'd want that don't you? Me marking you, making you mine, making other poeple, especially puny humans aware that you are mine."
The temperature in the room had rose and Lauren found herself tilting her head to the side, "D-do I get to mark you too?"
Camila tilted her head back forward and grinned, "Yeah. It works both ways, although some males don't let their mates mark them. They say It's because they're scared to be forever binded."
She pulled Lauren away from the counter and led them to the bedroom, "Marking binds you to one person for the rest of your life, doesn't mean you mated with someone else is that you automatically lost the right to be binded to the right person."
When they arrived at Lauren's bed, Camila laid down and patted her chest, gesturing for Lauren to lay with her.
"You're very lucky if you're mated to a werewolf, we're very faithful and possesive. It means I will never abandon or betray you, I will always keep you safe. I will never let another pair of hands touch your skin,"
Lauren relaxed in Camila's arms. Was she really lucky? She had spent less than 24 hours with a dangerous being that claimed to be her soulmate but she was safe and comfortable. Camila made her feel that way, she felt warm and it was getting addicting to be held by Camila's arms.
Less than 24 hours, she met an alpha werewolf, a rare one at that and now she had a mate. It was a lot to take in.
She knew that starting now, she was going to be met by many more surprises.
Camila circled her arm around Lauren's chest and she smiled into her sleep.
Lauren thought it was going to be worth it.

The bed was soft, the morning light trickled in casting a orange glow throughout the room. Mornings like this made every problem you’d face throughout the day more bearable. You were next to the man who made it all more than bearable.
“Good morning Buck.” You rolled over smiling at him you enjoyed laying in bed with him. He was the Bucky you knew, the Bucky who wasn’t tired from working to the bone, the Bucky who was optimistic about the future. It was a pure state of blis you where in by his side in the morning.
Bucky turned his head towards you meeting your gaze with a sad and somber mood.
"Y/n, I know it's hard but you have to wake up.”
“Y/n.. Y/n you have to wake up."
“I don't have to work today. I want to lay right here in bed with you.” You nuzzled back into Bucky's warm embrace. He knew your schedule, why would he bother waking you up when he knew this was your normal day off.
“No, Y/n you have to wake up. Come on baby just breathe and wake up." Bucky grabbed your shoulders. He tugged you upwards shaking you lightly. All the warm light drained right out the room. Your body began shaking all of a sudden.
“Y/n can you hear me. Y/n come on wake up Y/n.”
“Bucky I am up. What's going on? “ Bucky placed you on your back pulling your legs up. The bedroom door swung open, cool air filled the room draining out the steam.
“Please Y/n come on wake up." He cried out as if you weren't there.
"I am fully awake Buck. What's going on ?”
The room began to fill with steam. Your clothes stuck to your skin. Bucky's voice began to fade out. Nothing was making since.
“Y/n, Y/n.”
“Y/n come on, come on."
"Wake up!”
"Bucky I'm right here." Your voice slurred as you came back to consciousness, your eyes slowly opened as you felt throbbing near the back of your head.
You weren't in bed with Bucky, no. You where on your bathroom floor.
Steves form slowly came into view as your blurry eyes focused on his face.
Steves moved your head around gently, trying to assess and visible head injuries. His gaze fell over your head and your arms they were slightly bruised but they seemed okay, and it was only when you called Bucky's name again Steve realized you needed immediate medical attention.
________
The bright lights stung your eyes as you struggled to open them. A loud beep snapped you out your daze. You realized you weren't at home anymore. One moment you where getting ready to take a shower and the next everything had gone black.
Your head pounded as you tried to make sense of everything that happened. Bucky, you remembered being with him. The two of you where cuddled up in each other's embrace one moment, and the next Bucky was shaking you, yelling begging you to wake up.
It was a dream. It was all too good to be true.
Even in your unconscious state your heart wanted Bucky. So much to the point that you dreamed about him when you weren't coherent.
You glanced around taking in your surroundings. The room you laid in was identical to Bucky's. You were back at the hospital.
Steve's voice cut through the stillness of the room. Your mind raced back to the most recent thing you could remember, Steve held you on the bathroom floor begging you to stay awake. Everything after that was a blur.
This was it your ultimate break down. And Steve had witnessed it. You felt foolish. You couldn't stay strong, you couldn't be the person Bucky needed you to be right now. Everything had fallen apart. And to make things worse your felt like you'd let Bucky down for not being as strong as he had been. You sat in the bed starting at your hands. The room was silent, the only noise was your dark thoughts as you sat there in your own chaos, in silence.
No mantra could save you now. If I crack they crack.
The deafening silence was interrupted by heavy footsteps approaching your room. Sam appeared in the doorway. Sam's eyes held a gaze like he knew about your internal struggles.
“Your allowed to fall apart. But not like this.”
“Where's Steve I need to apologise to him and you. If I only had listen to you sooner I wouldn't be here.” Tears filled your eyes. You were overwhelmed. No mantra could help you now. Cracking was the only thing you could do. Sam rushed over to your bedside, your eyes met his own hushed tears filled his eyes as well.
“We'll get through this but not this way. If your falling apart let me know, let us know. Your not in this alone. Steve and I will be there for you.” Sam cradled your head against his chest lightly as you cried.
Every tear you shed brought a sense of relief over you. Your body shook as you cried, tears ran down your face until you were exhausted and tired. Sam took a deep breath in. “We're in this together. And don't you forget it.” Sam wiped the tears that littered across your cheeks. You all would make it through this. That was the first sure thing you'd had known in a while.
______
One day at a time. That was how you all took it. Rotating shifts was the first plan of action. You agreed with Sam and Steve that you wouldn't be any good if you weren't taking care of yourself. So the three of you and other close family and friends rotated being with Bucky.
It had been working well so far. You opted to be with him in the evenings. It allowed you to still go to work to support you and him once he woke up.
You no longer let your mind be plagued with the thought of Bucky not making it through. The only thing you could afford to have was hope. Sam was the one who suggested you say a couple of positive affirmations before and after you'd seen Bucky.
So far it had been working well. Instead of crying and sitting at his bedside you talked to him. You talked about the most mundane things, to things you were always too shy to say to him. He was still your Bucky and nothing was going to change that.
_________
The work week had been kind to you. Your relief came early to the library allowing you to go home, take a quick shower and head over to the hospital to be with Bucky.
Sitting with him in the evening made everything feel normal. Well as normal as it could get. It felt like it did before the accident, as if nothing had changed. Bucky usually waited for you before he would head off to whatever odd job he had found for the week.
He would sit with you on the couch listening to you intently as you told him of the horrors of working at the library. He never cared how bouring you said your job was. All he wanted was to be with you before he had to join the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
______________
You grabbed one of the chairs pulling it up to Bucky's bed side. You open the blinds moving back the curtains. The soft glow of the sunset illuminated the room as you took your seat next to your love.
Pulling back the curtains was something you recently started doing. You no longer sat in darkness next to his side. Bucky was your light. It was only fair you let a little of him into the room. You held his hand like you always did. Recanting your day to him as if he was nodding his head and listening to you. You babbled on about any and every little thing as usual.
Bucky's nurses we're due to come in soon. His vitals were due to be checked. You usual wandered down to the cafeteria to eat and give them space as they assessed your boyfriend.
You digged thru your purse for searching for your wallet and phone. Looking back at Bucky one more time. You always squeezed his hand before you left, it was your silent I love you.
Standing at Bucky's bed side your hand reached out to grab his like you had done many times before. You gently sat your hands together on the bed, turning to walk away your hand was yanked back before you could go any further.
You gazed locked down quickly on your intertwined hands, as you hoped you weren't imagining something you only dreamed about. Your heart raced in your chest as you watched Bucky's fingers move in between yours. You did everything you could not to pass out right there and than.
Bucky eyes began to slowly twitch behind his lids until he was looking right at you. His eyes closed before he gained a little strength to hold them open longer. Bucky blinked once more until he was able to look you right in the eyes.
All traces of air were sucked out of the room. You stood there frozen as you took in what was happening. He was awake. He was there.
“Baby, Y/n.” His voice was scratchy as he spoke. The evidence of not speaking for so long where clear in his voice.your Vision became cloudy as tears ran freely down your face.
Your body began to shake as you cried. You fell down to your knees at his bedside, your arms clutched Bucky's sides tightly. This felt like a dream it had to be one. Bucky's hand fail to your arm lightly tugging you upwards.
“Don't cry. I- I'm here now." Bucky struggled to hold back his own tears as he watched you.
This was it. This bad dream was finally over. He was here with you. “I dreamed of this moment more than I could count. Breathing without you has been the hardest thing.“ You spoke through your sob, Bucky pulled you up close to his embrace. His arms shook as he wiped the tears from your eyes.
Once your vision finally cleared you were able to look into his eyes. Bucky's beautiful blue eyes. It was all over. This was home. Bucky is home.
Breathe in. It’s over
