The first time she got assigned an excel sheet assignment she googled "how to learn excel fast" then added " for dummies" exactly 2 mins later

She oftten clashes withthe Accounting department on thier requestes to lower costs and cut out quality

Hates doing all the obove through email and tries to meet anyone from the accounting department but they all avoid her because they have no time for her 30 mins lectures about the importance of paper quality

Naomi is taller than Christian 💓

Naomi used her personal email on accident for her resume which is called: Naomi.is.da.best.2012@simail.com but they hired her anyway because they desperately needed someone with excel skills

Naomi's corporate style is inspired by her mom who used to be a corporate goth but naomi is not one (infact some of her office Fashion staples were given to her by her mom)

Christian's second reason for staying late is that he hates going home to an empty quiet small Appartment and prefers the feel of the big spaces of the office

Christian refuses not not wear any sort of jacket during his workday but once the day is over and everyone leaves he takes of his jacket loosens up his tie and takes out his bun to feel more comfortable

Naomi once saw christian at a museum staring really hard at a painting then she saw that painting printed on a corset the next day it made her laugh so much she had to buy it for work

One day Naomi wore tights with bats on them (vintage 😉) when she arrived at work and "happened" to get in the elevator with Christian he instantly said "nice bats" but then panicked and went into how much he loves bats for 10 mins straight. Naomi instantly fell for that panicked rizz lol

Next day she came to the office with some nice bat earing but swears its not related to Christian and his love of bats(it is) and its NOT HER GIVING HIM SIGNS OMG GUYS DO YOU WANT ME TO GET WRITTEN UP TO HR( she totally was)

How they got close and began working together:

After a particularly tough day at work of having to stay late and trying to get through to the accounting department because they wont budge on buying the expensive colored ink for thier printers and how not doing that will compromise the color quality plus almost calling the accounting manger an uneducated potato,

she decided to pass by the empty (or so she thought) accounting department to let out some cuss words at a poor empty desk, she saw Sinclare sitting there tie loosened and all and decided to try again and convince him to not cut the important supplies from the budget

hi! this is the bunch-a-questions anon. this wont be an ask ask. thank you for answering! it really gives me so much insight about tools and processes, i really enjoy seeing/reading how different artists have different ways in approaching creation of art. it’s all so interesting to me

and oooh i know what you mean about looking at a lot of different artists! it’s inspiration!! i find those things to be amazing too, it’s so cool. it’s like “this spot is inspired by an artist” “this artist draws this like this, so i wanted to try” “i think the way an artist drew this was neat and i wanted to try an implement it” it reminds me of that one post how we, as people, are a mosiac of other people and i believe it to be the same for how artists are too with their art

i feel inspired by the way you draw….. everything!!! it gets me pumped to try and replicate the way you do some things. like the shapes you create, the colors you choose, the way your lineart seems to be so flowy, how dynamic everything feels and how different each drawing you create is from one another (i saw you reblog that meme of like “why shouldnt i draw characters from the waist up and that is SO me, but it’s shoulders up” because drawing full bodies makes mh drawings feel so stiff, i need to practice more!!), the poses of the characters. just.. every aspect of your art is so, so, so nice!!

the way you draw, in all your styles, it’s definitely one of the ones that is such a good scratch to my brain. it gets me all giddy and happy! i’m not sure if i’ll get into jwri, mostly because my attention span will not let me be able sit and focus on listening before i get distracted and miss context on parts, BUT i still go to your blog almost every day just so i can see your art, no matter what it is, no matter who the characters are because it’s always so so good and i love taking it in. (will eat your art if i could, i am so serious)

its okay if you can't get into jrwi, i get it! i didn't think i would get into it as well and after binging all the episodes i honestly forgot why i even started listening in the first place. remembered recently tho! it was because i was going a little crazy while making the picrew and needed some actual talking in the background instead of just music. so, if you ever decide to give it a try, or listen to something else equally as lengthy, try to busy your hands with something that doesn't require a lot of thinking! it helps me at least! worked both with jrwi and tma. it's like, doing something monotonous (knitting, sorting files, cleaning the house, etc) can be incredibly boring if i sit in silence and let my mind wonder. alternatively, listening to something long or watching a long movie can be incredibly boring as well because i struggle to pay attention to the same thing for two hours. but combining these is really good, because it keeps both my mind and hands busy, but not overwhelmingly so!

Oh yeah, I finished the Blue Beetle 1986 run.

There was a bunch of stuff I liked. Like Ted's college roommate/bestie Takamoto. And Ted being a decent caring boss/willing to fucking throw down if you try to harm his employees. Giving ex-cons chances. Willing to look out for people's families and financially support them. And caring about homeless people (granted he failed to grasp the fact that he could infact do shit to help them).

Loved the choice to have Ted's Beetle Nest be right under the Kord Inc. building. And Ted's gods awful fashion choices, good fucking lords you have to actively try to pick colors and patterns that clash that badly. Also really like Ted with curly red hair, every other appearance of him in the DC universe should have curly red hair! It looks great and distinct.

Also the whole Ted vs Dan thing and Khaji Da being a mind controlling alien parasite trying to seduce Ted. The ending felt like a fucking cop out but most of it was fun and also Dan lasered a bunch of cops which was neat.

But there was also a bunch of stuff I hated. Like the unnecessary drama of Ted not telling his loved ones about his secret identity even when it became clear that it was causing issues. OG Ted didn't have those problems b/c he told his girlfriend/lab assistant which was hot new and spicey at the time narritively.

You could have had different more interesting drama with folks knowing! Imagine how the arc where Nixon banned superheroes b/c public opinion got turned against superheroes would have gone down if there were people who knew that Ted was a superhero? Like that fucking cop got to figure out Ted's identity but what did we get out of that other than Ted getting blackmailed by that cop to do dirty work for him?

There's a bunch of plot lines that never get resolved and as far as I know just don't get resolved due to folks not really caring about Ted's of solo run. Like, poor Mr. Calhoun does not get fucking rescued after he got horribly burned, forcibly mutated and given superpowers, then kidnapped and enslaved. I didn't see a single peep about Mr. Calhoun after the Titans told Ted to go home and things will resolve themselves eventually.

Just damn, free my mans Calhoun!

And like damn, no one at Kord Inc really thought about Jeremiah Duncan much after he got kidnapped by French people. And that doesn't sit right with me. Especially after seeing what Ted did for Angie and Calhoun when they were in trouble and even that ex-con that was trying to turn his life around. Like? The fuckle?

Also the entire ending of that run felt just ... that's both a downer ending and it didn't feel super in character. Like yer telling me Ted, Mr. 'Oh no my secretary didn't show up and didn't call out and this is very not like her I'm gonna drop by her house to see if she's ok' and Mr. 'Calhoun saved my life I'm going to ride with him to the hospital to make sure he's ok/I will fight all these fucking supervillains trying to kidnap my employee so I can get that man to a fucking hospital' would say fuck yall and dip instead of helping rebuild his company?

Sure, he's pissed off at his dad and his ex but would that spite really beat out every fuck he gives for all the other people that work for him? The folks he said were like family to him that he proved pretty well that he meant it through out the story? If he quits he cant take care of the ex-con's family like he promised to. If he quits what happens to Angie? If he quits Calhoun wont have a job to come back to and its not like he could get another after being turned into a metal skinned mutant.

Nah, I don't buy that ending.

How long have you had Silas as an oc? Did you have him before the owl house or invent him for the show? Also, how many oc's do you have? Do you have female, non binary, etc ones?

I think I made Silas up around chapter 19, and was talking to @oxblooddraws who actually was the one to give him his name, since I am terrible with naming, hahaha. but yah, soon after i made him I gave him a role for the story which my beta readers enjoyed so I was like yehhh I'm adding him. So, like, I had someone in mind that would for sure be from Philip's past in a way, and you probably will see I did have that in mind before chapter ten... hahaha. I wont say more, but I will say the next chapter will have a little clue that may make peeps answer a question about something that happened in the earlier chapters if peeps pay attention to the small details : ).... I know i'm being super vague here, hahaha

I mean, Elizabeth is female and she's an oc who i made up a chapter before her introduction : o. I didn't have much of a back story for her till later. But I did have an idea of some human after Philip planned.

I used to have a non binary character when I first wrote the story, and a lesbian one, working with Jacob, but I scrapped that cause I didn't want Jacob working with Luz and her friends and decided to give Jacob another sort of role that is much better for story telling wise, hahaha. I added a cousin for Jacob for a reason.

Oh right, you got the three female nuns who are oc's too, i won't say much about them then the story provides since... spoilers~ hahaha. You got to read to see more about them : )...

There will be other oc's that will just play a bit of a small role in the next phase, some that i have yet to give personalities to (cause I legit figure that out while I write them in the story at times) or names. But I do have the roles they will be playing set in my head o.o. (hopefully this doesn't sound like i'm bullshitting things but... well... this is how i make characters, hahaha) so yeah, I just make up charcs as I go that will help the story progress : o, and change their roles if things make sense. usually though i have a set plan who they are and will be after writing them down in one chapter : o Like, lowkey, i was going to kill Father Francis and the nuns a chapter after they showed up in the story, LOL, but decided to keep them cause i liked how they turned out and saw the potential they had for the story later, hahaha x.x

i agree with most of your post ! but honestly the one thing i dont get is why wouldnt it make *some* people more "obedient" or compliant, even in the future? i'm a victim of abuse which is in a way similar to torture, just more long term. for years and years after it was over, i was still considered "obedient" like i did not stand up for myself, followed what people told me. i've been in therapy and it helped but i still get in that "mindset" sometimes.

so not that i disagree but i dont think it's true in all the cases. for some peeps who are already "inclined" to be obedient (for lack of better word) it could push them that far. that is what happened to me, but yes it wasnt pernament because now i see things thru more and try to actively not think like that.

or maybe my situation is deemed too different, i dont know. but i just think it should be both. some people get more defiant, some people get more obedient. it depends on personality and a lot of stuff i think !

but for what it's worth i fully agree that it wont bring you information. people would most likely lie or make something up even when tortured. or i dont know. thats what i would do !

im not an expert in abuse, and while i get that there are similarities in the consequences of torture and abuse, and that torture is often done within a context of other forms of abuse, and that there's a degree of arbitrarity in the definition of what constitutes as what - there is still a difference, in my opinion. abuse as the slow burn, versus torture, the explosion. i guess it just depends. my post was specifically about torture.

what i mean by 'obedient' isn't just learned helplessness, it's the notion that torture can cause a person to willingly conform to whatever their torturer wants them to. which is torture apologia. as in, im not just saying that for shock value, it is actual torture apologia.

but even reluctant compliance is complicated when it comes to torture, it depends on a host of things. and this can also easily slip into torture apologia, too - there's a reason i brought up the notion of corporal punishment as a crime deterrent in that post. i was gonna write a decent long thing about it, got as far as reading up on a couple of studies, but then i remembered that @scripttorture has done all that leg work already and is better at wording these things than i am lol. here's a good post saying it's complicated. heres another telling you why brainwashing isn't real. quote from the latter:

It suggests that survivors are controlled by torturers. That torture can ‘force’ people to change their strongly held beliefs. It suggests that because of these two things survivors are dangerous and this is a line of thought that is used to bar real survivors from real help. None of that is true. So to start, it's wildly fucking obvious how much love, blood, sweat, and tears has been put into this fic. Yes, they only have three chapters posted, but the entire fic is written and they are posting weekly, so you'll have something to look forward to! Even though I'm beta'ing this project for them, I'm absolutely not biased when I say that this is a fantastic fic, a super unique and intriguing concept, and has a nail-biter of a plotline. And yes, I've read the entire fic AND YOU'RE IN FOR A WHILE FUCKING RIDE FRIENDS. Yes, it is a dark fic (so mind those tags!), but it's got everything I ever wanted in a darkfic (sex, drugs, rock and roll, and oh so much grit). And also... peep that eventual happy ending tag. 👀👀👀 Even besides the content, the style of these two writers meshes SO WELL together.

1000000/10 recommend reading and following if this these themes are your cup of tea. You absolutely wont regret!
