Ive written so many things lately (and in my life in general) that just... sit around. I dont really know what to do with them, because they're all tied up in these massive worlds.
Then I try writing short stories, so I can be less tied up in all the worldbuilding but then I get so attached to my blorbos that I make another, massive world.
Ive created a whole off shoot of my usual setting lately thats a little more grimdark and more hostile and now im like "Okay cool, moving on".
Can making ellaborate worlds be a job, please. I promise I thought of every niche thing.
(The truly ridiculous part is obviously that I can make all the worlds and yet come back to Hawksong. Every goddamn time. This story wont leave me and yet I dont believe I have the skills to tell it yet)
At this point, i'll just start posting little summaries of my favourite characters and maybe someone else will do something with them.
Because god knows Rowid Parzival deserves to be heard about, same as Driden Eurid.
Actually, I can probably just... write about these characters, cant I. Im allowed to just... Write about them. Whos gonna stop me. The writer police?
...
Look, I have to apply for jobs first but once Ive hit my weekly quota, I shall be unstoppable.
(Sidenote: Driden Eurid is a trans character in a world with mutation magic who just decided one day that "No, actually, im gonna mutate myself into a woman" and they were very succesful and very terrifying and also have a shitton of crystals embedded in their skin, but that is not what the story is about at all, because we've already had enough trans sobstories. No, Driden Eurids story is about sponsoring poor mages in a society of purity and having to take care of all these street idiots that would have so much potential if they just sat down for five minutes. And the story in particular is sponsoring a blind sorceress from the slums, because if anyone has studied The Sources™ its Driden "My whole body is full of them" Eurid and her queer chaos kids.)

part 2
So the main plot very much follows as in the game, with it going forward everytime Jin beat Kazuya and reach the surface.
Let's assume it takes Jin a couple tries before he even makes it to Kaz. During their first encounter in the final volcano area, both father and son comment on the fact that Kaz himself has to be the one to deal with Jin and throw him back home. The irony of how much duels to the death between father and son is in their family isnt lost on either of them, and they are both about to uphold the bloody legacy regardless of who wins.
After that, considering it's just the two of them up there, Jin takes a chance to finally have a private talk with his adament prick of a father and asks why he stubbornly doesnt want Jin to leave in the first place, he also doesnt like Jin as much as Jin doesnt like him. At that Kazuya scoffs and tells Jin to drop the facade, he knows the real reason Jin wants to leave is to find his mother, and that, Kazuya cannot allow (for reasons he wont explain now).
Anyway after that, Kazuya boss fight.
First phase is Kazuya in his more human-looking form, he moves and fight almost like a stronger and better Jin (I mean he literally taught him everything here), the volcanic stage they're on has damage hazards like lava flows and exploding rocks, this is also the stage where Jin and Kaz shout how... discontent they are with each other.
When the first phase of the Kazuya boss fight is dealt with, he enters his second phase which is him transforming into his devil form (Jin makes a comment about waiting for this to finally happen). Kazuya is faster thanks to his wings and has now access to ranged attacks via forehead lasers.
If/when Jin manages to defeat both phases of the Kazuya boss fight, it ends with Kazuya falling back down to his house, and Jin being free to finally leave hell.
Now he only needs to find his mom, and he wanders a bit aimlessly before starting to feel weak but considering he just fought his dad to the death for the first time, he brushes it off as him being tired. He gets weaker overtime but he also feel a pull from somewhere, like his blood itself is guiding him. He passes through a luscious forest, and eventually as he reaches the heart, when he is just about to pass out, he finally sees his mother, and even tho she left ages ago, she is still fairly close to the entrance to hell. Jin tries to reach her but that's when his body finally decides to give and as he's passing on he can hear Jun noticing him and mistaking him for Kazuya.
Upon waking up, Jin rushes to Kaz (who is totally not bitter that he got beat) to tell him that he found her! He found mother! And she's not even that far from here! Only to be hit back with a big old "And?" alongside a chilling promise that he should cherish that new memory of her, because he wont ever see her again, Kaz will make sure of that. Which pisses Jin off so bad that he storms off to escape again.
At the second successful ascension attempt, during the boss fight, Jin confronts Kaz again as to why he is so determined to keep Jin away from his mom, and Kaz still refuses to ellaborate. Once Kaz is defeated, Jin makes way to the forest, reaches the heart, and sees Jun again. She is immediately overcome with emotions, confess she wouldnt dare to believe her eyes last time, convinced herself it was a dream, and without knowing why or how, she immediately recognizes Jin as her son. After the emotional first impression, the two talks, Jun explaining to Jin that he died as an infant and that's partly why she left Hell, and she's now confused as to how he's standing in front of her and why Kazuya never reached out to her. Jin is also confused, but then says that now that he is here, he has no intention of coming back to him in Hell, he wants to stay with Jun now. But before they can carry on the conversation, Jin starts to feel his strength leave him, which makes him even more confused than he already was because he wasnt even mortally wounded this time. As he dies he promises Jun that he will climb back up and see her again.
Freshly reborn, Jin shouts at Kaz demanding to know what he did to him, to which Kaz takes major offense to Jin's accusations that Kaz would resort to anything other than his own strength to stop him. And besides, Kaz is already stewing in cold fury because Jin is going to ruin things more than he already has if he continues.
Kaz being irritatingly useless, Jin prepares to leave again, but "Kazumi" finds him and clears things up for him, bringing him up to speed on his death at birth and his "revival" and how he is as tied to Hell as is his father. Jin thanks her/it and set off to inform his mother.
Third successful ascension, Kaz is getting angrier in his attempts to stop Jin, but eventually Jin still get the upper hand. Jin then rushes to the forest bc he now knows he is on borrowed time on the surface, but rather than meeting Jun at the heart of the forest, she waits for him at the edge. Jin tells her what "Kazumi" has told him and Jun tells him that she figured as much as to what was happening to him. Jin laments that they are to be separated again no matter what but Jun comfort him into making the most of the time they have. The two talks with Jun telling Jin everything that happened between her and Kaz leading up to now and Jin telling Jun his childhood in Hell with his father. They have enough time for Jun to show him her fighting style and share it with him. Eventually Jin starts to die but reassure his mother that he will do everything he can to make his way back to her, and Jun proudly calls him her son which makes Jin feel warm as he's slipping away.
This is where Jin unlock the Kazama style for further ascensions.
Fourth successful ascention. Jin vents to his mother that this all would be much easier if he didnt have to constantly fight his dad to get to her, he doesnt even know why Kaz goes to such lengths to stop him from seeing her in the first place. Jun, being the Kazuya Understanding Expert, make the guess that it's because he's having grievances with her, she DID left Hell -and by extension, him- after all. Jin immediately shuts down the idea that Jun has any blame in any of this, but it doesnt change the fact that, to her, Kaz resents her enough that he doesnt want anything to do with her anymore. And as she says that, its painfully obvious to Jin (and you) that this upset her greatly. Jin then says that this doesnt make sense because as much as he is frustrated with his stubborn asshole of a father, Kaz DID kept the garden (the thing that started all of this by tipping Jin off that there was more to it), something that is virtually useless to him or Jin or Hell in general, but not to her. Jun appreciates the sentiment but she tells Jin that it is a frail proof that he wants anything to do with her now and also that she has made peace with the fact that Kaz probably wont ever want to see her again. Jin can tell she is very much not at peace with it as she says she is and even asks her what the hell did she ever saw in his dad in the first place, to which Jun only smiles fondly. Jin then says he refuses to believe that after everything Jun has told him about them, his dad would simply do a 180° on how he's feeling about her, and even if he did, he refuses to let his dad's pettiness be such a thorn in his side when he's trying to reconnect with his mother. As Jin dies again he tells Jun he will get to the bottom of this while she smiles thinly but hopeful at him.
Now Jin is back in Hell with a mission. Hijinks ensues, but eventually he gets inside Kaz's personal room and after commenting on the massive collection of sneakers, he finds a pristine picture of Jun in a golden frame, obviously very well taken care of, and after the initial "Oh gods this idiot's still in love with her", Jin rushes on to the surface.
Fifth successful ascension. There's some pretty interesting dialogues in the boss fight bc Jin is confronting Kaz about all of this, and Kaz finally starts to break thanks to a mix of irritation at having so much fights (and losses) with his son and yearning since he is deeply thinking about Jun for the first time in ages. When Kaz is defeated and before he dies, he finally confess to Jin that OF COURSE he misses her, but it is obvious to him that Jun must hate him: not only his domain -himself- hurt her so badly she had to leave, but for years he hid to her that her son survived. With Jin daring to bother her and bringing to light what he has done, it is obvious she must feel nothing but bitterness toward him, and Jin is so appalled by what Kaz is saying that he would shake him if it was smth he did (basically "... NO YOU STUPID BITCH???"). Anyway Jin clears his father's misconception by telling him that his mother does not feel this way and also tells him to stop being a coward and talk to her himself. This makes Kaz mad as he's dying but that's what Jin wanted anyway. Jin then meet up with Jun to tell her what happened and he dies soon afterward but Jun looks deep in thoughts when he last sees her.
When Jin wake up at the house, Kaz is already nowhere to be found, so Jin resumes his ascension, already knowing where his father is.
Sixth successful ascension. Jin arrives at the mouth of the volcano and sure enough, that's where Kazuya is. Jin prepares himself for the boss fight but it never comes, Kazuya staying arms crossed and back turned from him. Jin asks Kaz if he's gonna let him through and Kaz only nods. Jin starts to walk away but halfway through, stops and after a moment of silence, he asks Kaz if he wants to go with him. To meet her. Another moment of silence, and eventually Kaz wordlessly starts to walk along with Jin.
They barely have time to leave the volcano that already Jun is in front of them. She was making her way to meet them herself. Neither of them were expecting to see the other so fast so naturally everyone is taken aback. It's only when his parents say each other's name that Jin decides to take his leave.
And that's the end of the main story👍
Afterward Jin has technically no reason to break out of Hell again since his mom is now a more present part of his life and he and his father are slowly (VERY slowly) getting on better terms, but A LOT of people in Hell kept asking Kaz to please let Jin doing it for multiple reasons as it was beneficial for many many of them, so in the end Jin was happy to oblige. Plus it beats getting bored all day at home, he gets stronger out of it, and it's an opportunity to see the surface every once in a while, where his mother is from, which is half of his blood.
Jun can be found in her garden in Hell where Jin can walk on her having conversations with Kazuya where he is not-so-subtly making sure she is comfortable and has everything she desires while she comment on how well that garden has been taken care of, or back on the surface where she's at her forest, sometimes waiting for Jin.
There is also a small chance that during certain ascensions, Jin enters the Kazuya boss area only to find it empty, leading to an early successful end (and the first time this happens he gets an achievement). When he gets to Jun's forest after, he can walk on cute conversations between her and Kazuya (where he looks slightly uncomfortable but thats bc he cant stay long on the surface away from Hell and NOT because he is nervous at seeing Jun again)
Now onto the technical stuff:
Jin can still receive blessings from his extended family & friends, each with different advantages:
Blessings from Lars influences Jin's electric attacks when he is using Mishima Style: they can improve their strength, range or speed depending on what Jin choses.
Blessings from Lee gives Jin access to additional faster-paced mishima moves, or inventions Jin can lay like traps to hurt enemies, useful since Jin's styles are mainly close-combat based (with the exception of Devil Style)
Alisa will only show up during ascensions if Jin already has blessings from either Lars or Lee, Blessings from Alisa have synergy with those from Lars and Lee and enhances them, she also can provides Jin with ranged attacks for Mishima Style via her rocket punches, or give him additional movement with her thrusters, among other things.
Leroy will only show up after Jin meets Xiaoyu during an ascension for the first time, Blessings from Leroy makes Jin's Own Style stronger and better.
(I need someone else for Jin's Own Style)
Asuka will only show up after Jin unlocked Kazama Style (so after the 3rd successful ascension) and is using it for this run, Blessings from Asuka gives Jin additional Kazama moves and overall make the Kazama Style stronger.
Lili will only show up during ascensions if Jin already has blessings from Asuka, Blessings from Lili will increase Jin's evasion and general speed.
Blessings from Zafina increases the chance of Azazel's crystals to spawn, which gives Jin access to Azazel and the Devil Jin boss fight, she also makes the Devil Style moves stronger.
Claudio will only show up during ascensions if Jin already has blessings from Zafina, Blessings from Claudio allows Jin to deal exorcism damage (poison damage basically) to enemies (bc theyre from Hell)
During his ascentions, Jin will encounter other characters who can help him on his run:
Jin will at one point stumble upon two mortal heroes called Paul and Law who came down to Hell to confront Kazuya for power and glory (reminder that Kazuya was a devilish conqueror) but got trapped and are now stuck. At first they mistook Jin for Kaz and begged him to leave them alone by giving him money (with Law whining bc he spend so long collecting that), Jin didnt know what to make of that as they wouldnt listen to him so he just took the money and left to spend it on health coffee at Azucena. The second time he encounter them, Jin finally gets to clear out his name, and after that he forms a sort of friendship with the two where they give him some of the money they find as a "fuck you" to Kaz by helping his rebellious son.
Another mortal hero Jin encounter is King, who is in hell as part of a contract with some royalty so he can provides for the orphans he looks after, he was send there to deal with invader demons... at the source. King introduces him to the concept of summons. Basically, Jin can call upon an ally to help him in battle, the summons get stronger the deeper the bond with Jin gets.
Some summons includes:
King, who deals heavy damage to one enemy and boost Jin's strengh in a small area. His summoning token is a pin of his jaguar mask.
Xiaoyu, who spams long distance bouncing fireballs that touch a lot of enemies to help Jin. Her summoning token is her panda plushie.
Hwoarang, who acts as a "second Jin" that attacks in a kind of pincers formation with him. His summoning token is his belt.
Xiaoyu and Hwoarang get a double summon if Jin choose to date them both, that double summon is a pair of flaming talons (bc Xiaoyu is a phoenix and Hwoarang is the "blood talon") that counter any enemy attack that reaches Jin, essentially protecting him, for a couple of seconds.
Jun is probably Jin's strongest summon, bc she deals damage in a fairly wide area by essentially "purifying" enemies and heals Jin a small percentage of the damage she deals. She's particularly effective against the Kazuya boss fight bc on top of the funny dialogues, he gets... distracted. Her summoning token is her headband.
Kazuya is the last summon Jin gets and the hardest to get AND to level up. Bc its fucking Kaz. On the plus side he IS the King Of Hell and not only make all enemies weaker simply by sheer intimidation, but also fires a GIANT laser from his chest in a circle motion, guaranteed to hit most enemies. His summoning token is a custom made pair of sneakers for Jin.
Calling the Kazuya summon in the Kazuya boss fight is not a good idea bc it will have the opposite effect of helping. In fact it will make Kazuya stronger.
Calling the Kazuya summon in his boss fight basically adds a third phase where after Devil Kazuya falls, he will transform into True Devil Kazuya which is by far the hardest version of Kazuya to beat.
Doing so the first time gives Jin an achievement but doing so on purpose multiple times will trigger a dialogue back at the house where Kazuya is like "Why do you keep doing that? You know you're only making me angrier right?" to which Jin will respond smth about wanting to beat Kaz at his strongest and Kaz is like. Aight okay I can respect that *summon level up*
whatever. tekken hadesgame AU
or as I like to call it: "what if Kaz raised Jin: God Edition lmao"
so. to lay the groundwork:
They're all gods/powerful immortal beings of an unspecified pantheon (but still loosely inspired by a pretty famous one I'm sure you'll recognize)
Big Bad Thundergod King Heihachi (whom I am now realizing shares quite a lot of similarities with good ol' Zeus), after getting bored and worried he's raising a weakling unfit to be his heir, still threw his little son down a cliff, except this one was from the highest heavens to the deepest hells, to make sure that if the little godling died, well, the death would actually stick. Which it did.
UNTIL another deity who's the personification of the devil gene (and who kinda look like Kazumi-but-it's-unsure-wether-or-not-it's-actually-Kazumi) took pity on him and revived him by giving him part of itself/hell aka the devil gene. So now Kazuya is "alive" and immortal again, but he's now bound to hell, aka he can't live away from it for very long. And yknow what they say, if you're stuck somewhere, might as well become it's ruler. Especially if you've gained the favors of the entity that embodies the place and that you've found a new life goal in making daddy dearest's life unbearable.
Anyway eons passed and Kaz's brothers (his adopted one Lee whom ascended to godhood on one of Heihachi's whims as a way to counter his annoying firstborn's meddling, and his heroic half-brother Lars) reached out to him one day to propose an alliance to take their tyrannical father down. Kaz only agreed on the condition that he get to expand his domain once Heihachi is out: if he cant leave hell, no worries, he'll just make hell bigger. Anyway Heihachi's children rebelled against him and with their might combined they managed to take him down, with Kaz even having the honor and pleasure to deliver the killing blow.
For the aftermath tho, when it was time for Kaz to begin his conquest, his brothers came back on their word to let him, bc Lars Actually Gives A Damn About Mortals and he knew full well that Kazuya wouldve had exactly the same rule as Heihachi if they let him, so they didnt (and Lee is more neutral on his views toward mortals but he gets along with Lars FAR better than he ever got along with Kaz so the choice on who to back up was easy). And even though Kaz 100% wouldve been as bad as Heihachi is he was allowed to rule over mortals as Lars thought he would be, and Kaz KNOWS it, that doesnt mean hes not gonna be mad that his brothers didnt keep their words to let him be evil in peace.
Well if he cant have what he wants the fair way, might as well try to take it by force. And thus Kaz resumes his battles against his brothers with his attempts at invasion of the mortal realm.
This goes on for awhile with things going great for Kaz as he is the stronger sibling out of all of them, until his aggression puts him on the path of one Jun, who counters him in a most efficient, masterful and complete manner. Basically he was doing too well at bringing evil onto the world and she had come to balance him out.
In a most unforeseen turn of events, as they get acquainted over the course of their different confrontations, they discover that they respect and admire each other's strength and actually get along pretty well, even enjoy each other's company.
Anyway being around Jun makes Kaz chill out MASSIVELY and soon enough you'll notice the amount of invasions from hell have greatly diminished.
Eventually they get in an actual relationship, with Kazuya even wanting her to become the queen of his domain. And Jun is not opposed to this proposal, quite the opposite in fact. But complications start to arise when Jun began moving in hell: she is everything it's not and vice-versa, and the environment itself even seems harmful for her the longer she stays. Even the devil-Kazumi-entity, for all that it's/she's fond of Jun as a person, cannot meet her physically for she would eradicate it/her should they come into contact.
Jun bears it as long as she can bc Kazuya Literally Cannot Leave Hell and she wants to be with him as much as he wants to be with her, and Kaz promises her that he's working on finding a solution (and by "working on it" I mean Kaz is threatening the dead soul of a demi-god known as Gepetto Bosconovitch, reknown for giving life to things that didnt have any, into fixing this).
Eventually Jun reaches her breaking point when their son dies a stillborn because he bears her blood and he is much weaker than she is, bc he's a baby. This is the last rejection of this place that Jun can take before it potentially kills her, esp since that last event took such a toll on her, and even tho she loves Kaz as much as he loves her, she has to leave and WANTS to leave. Kaz, in a rare moment of compassion, let her go and spares telling her the news that, ironically, Bosconovitch JUST finished his work and managed to make a garden, indentical to the ones she would have on the surface, grow in the deepest level of hell where she could thrive.
So Jun is gone and Kaz is miserable, so much so that he doesnt even have the mind nor heart for conquest anymore. The only thing left of her being the corpse of his child that he decides to bury in the unused garden.
But just as the tiny body touches the soil, he begin to scream as he takes his first breath and the initial shock then WAVE OF RELIEF Kazuya feels as his son is alive surprises even himself bc he didnt even want the damn baby in the first place. This is probably the most outwardly loving Kaz will be with his son as he's holding his tiny body while being hit with a fucking storm of emotions but hey we take those.
"This is great! Their son is alive and the garden works! Now Kazuya only need to reach Jun and they can-" Except Kaz Will Not bc he does NOT want to reach Jun. Not bc he doesnt love her anymore but 1) bc he now knows the pain of losing her and bringing her back into his life means getting the risk of getting hurt again and he neither wants to feel that pain ever again nor even knowing he has that "weakness" in the first place so he'd rather cut her off from his life, he'd rather deal with loneliness than heartache, and 2) even he realized that what his domain is, what he is, brought Jun pain, and some part of him does NOT like to see Jun in pain.
"Well if he doesnt want Jun back into his life, why doesnt he send her their son?" This is objectively the best course of action. But Kaz is Not A Good Person. He's selfish. And again. Their son is the last thing he has left of her, and goddammit if he doesnt have her eyes, her nose, her face.
So Kaz is now stuck with this lame baby and only partially vibe with it. Problem is, that baby cannot live in this tiny garden for the entirety of his immortal life. Thankfully the devil-Kazumi-entity offers Kaz a solution: the baby not only carries Jun's blood but also Kazuya's, and that makes him able to be a receptacle for the devil gene, binding him to hell as well, yes, but keeping him alive in there.
So now Kazuya is raising his son whom he named Jin based on one (1) short conversation he once had with Jun but didnt forget. He is also personally training him in the art of combat, bc sadly Kaz does take a bit after his father, and he would not have the prince of hell be a weakling.
OKAY BACKSTORY ESTABLISHED FINALLY now onto the main course:
So Jin grew up and similarly as in the game, he eventually learn that his family is not just him and his dad but he also have a mom somewhere, and he wants to find her. Bc one day he steps into the famous garden that Kaz had closed off after That Day and Jin figured that his asshole dad would NOT have such a pretty garden made without reasons so after a few researchs behind Kaz's back he eventually found out the truth.
Long story short, Jin wants to leave hell, Kaz doesnt want him to, and they antagonize each other constantly.
Jin eventually comes into contact with both his extanded family and multiple allies who wants to help him leave (without anyone knowing yet that just like Kaz, Jin cannot live outside of hell for long. tho Jin can survive longer than Kaz thanks for his mom's blood)
The people from outside helping him are:
Lars: his heroic half-uncle, OF COURSE Lars was going to help him.
Lee: his adopted uncle, he does like Jin but mostly he helps him out so Jin can run a few crash tests for him on Kaz's minions, AND he gets to piss off Kaz in the same move? Excellent.
Alisa: an ascended goddess who relate to Jin due to their origin, she as well was "dead at birth" until her father found a way to bring her back (in a way) tho he was cast to hell for it.
Leroy: the grandfather-figure Jin wishes he always had.
Asuka: she insists to him they're related and that once he makes it outta hell, she'll teach him about their side of the family.
there'll be more down the line but I need to workshop this...
Anyway Jin has two goal: 1) escape dad's hell, and 2) find mom. whom he will discover has straight up disappeared from everyone ever since she left hell herself.
So Jin starts from the bottom of hell and has to climb to the top where the entrance lies, in the mouth of a volcano. Wink wink fucking nudge nudge
When he falls he ends up back in his father's home where he can meet a bunch of friendly dead souls:
Lucky Chloe: usually the first person he sees after falling down, she's kind of the court jester, she was spared damnation bc Kaz thinks her annoying people is really funny as long as its not him, thats where the "Lucky" come from.
Azucena: she provides delicacies from the surface to hell (for a price), Jin can find her as he's running up to the surface and she'll happily sell him things to help.
Jane: she provides Jin with some sort of "bestiary" and she actually does not mind that he keeps beating Kaz's minions (the JACKs among others, tho they are her favorites) bc she get to improve them thanks to the data gathered afterward.
Bruce: Kaz's chief of security. When Jin didnt trained with Kaz, he often sparred with Bruce. Bruce will let Jin try his different styles against him before climbing back up hell again. He's fond of the kid :)
"Kazumi": Jin can never get quite a good read on her/it, but she's/it's always kind to him.
and others that I will also figure out...
But that's not all the people Jin meets, as he's ascending, he also encounters a bunch of people, tho not all are friendly.
Nina and Anna: contracted by Kazuya to stop Jin. Tho they spend more time fighting each other...
A reptilian monstrocity by the name of Alex.
Some strange crystals take him to a bizarre location where he can meet Azazel, who present himself as the progenitor of the devil-Kazumi-entity, making him technically Jin's great-grandpa. Via him, Jin can fight Devil Jin and gain more access to his style (more on that later)
Xiaoyu: a phoenix Jin befriended, the only reason she's in hell is only bc she can cheat death. She is not bound to hell, so she technically can come back to life if she manages to escape, until she dies again on the surface. They often run into each other and have a friendly competition to see who can defeat the most of Kaz's minions, if she loses, Xiaoyu will leave Jin with one of her feathers, that increases his health. Jin can also meet her sometimes back at the house. It's rumored that she spend more time in hell recently to hang out with the hellish prince🧡
Hwoarang: another dead soul of a great warrior contracted to stop Jin, but he couldnt care less about what Kaz wants. He wants to defeat Jin, so he will hunt him down everytime he hears that Jin is trying to escape again. Over time he and Jin have come to enjoy their rivalry. Jin can also meet him sometimes at the house🧡
And more yknow the drill...
And of course, once Jin finally manages to come to hell's entrance, who waits for him there but Kazuya. The two have a nice little father and son fight to the death between immortals where they can work out their problems in an healthy manner: with extreme violence, and the winner get to throw the other down the volcano cliff aaall the way to the bottom (bc sometimes the best way to work out trauma is thru exposure therapy. wink)
Jin starts by only knowing his father's style, but after finally finding his mother, and after the initial story-related reunion (and the tragic realization that just like his dad, Jin cannot stay out of hell for long), they bond with Jun teaching him her style. And Jin can work his way to the top again using her style to learn more about it. When dueling Kaz with it, he's preeetty conflicted like: My traitorous son is using another style than ours👿 -> omg that's Jun's moves... 🥺 -> HE'S NOT EVEN USING THEM RIGHT👿👿👿
And basically, Jin has multiple styles: his dad's, his own, eventually his mom's, and devil style. He gets to pick the one he's going to stick with at the start of every ascend.
Anyway this is the story of a child of divorce trying to reunite his parents who are both extremely stubborn and extremely still in love with each other, bc if Jin has to live another day with just his father he's going to LOSE IT.

There's a reason why Vriska, immoral and unlikeable as she may be, is a more engaging character than Rey. I wont ellaborate any further, because I want you to figure out what that reason is. My statement is funnier if you realize what archetype Vriska is supposed to be parody of, along with Hussie's preferential treatment of her.

Not sure if you mean Zoyalai's own kids or zoyalai with kids but in any case i have opinions lmao
When it comes to the former refer to this, i participated in a lot of it lmao, but i will probably also add onto it
so here we go i guess
both of them are very good with kids in different ways
essentially nikolai is the Cool Older Guy™ who all the kids want to be friends with and look up to, older children (like, tweens) have crushes on him and the smaller ones love to play with him
zoya on the other side is the reliable authority. She is severe and the kids are lowkey scared of her but they also know she will protect them and be patient with them
Oh yeah zoya aside from her royal palace duties teaches the young etherealki. she could... not do it.... but she chooses to
and nikolai sometimes gets around their classes, and even their rooms (ill ellaborate dont worry)
contrary to what she may say, zoya *likes* kids, and knows how to handle them.
Shes normally the one to make them feel better if theres something wrong. Maybe make them a tea, cuddle them when they cry. With a bit of tough love if what happened was their fault of course.
Nikolai teaches the kids to swordfight if the chance arises. Hes surprisingly good at it.
And he reads to them!!! sometimes in the library, somwtimes in their common rooms with all the kids coddled up around one bed.
Hes an avid storyteller by himself too, and he is known to be a war hero and to have lived many adventures, so the kids always ask him about them and he tells all his tales passionately and interactively. Sometimes props are included.
Zoya always intervenes "that didnt happen like that" "excuse you what about the commander that literally saved his majestys life" "oh you mean when alina starkov rejected you.... thrice"
He also tells his tales as Capitain Sturmhond, theyre always mesmerized and somw of them find aspirstions to be pirates privateers
Theres a lot of bantering, a lot of kids pick up on their tension. they gossip about it. Others are a bit less discreet and directly ask them about it.
And they ask a lot about Sankta Alina. Nikolai is very epic about it, Zoya tells them shit like how it was. "she was small and stupid enough to reject a kings marriage proposal", thats normally the end of it.
No one knows how she does it but zoya is able to shut a kid up immedistely, children, toddlers and even babies.
Shese never one to play with kids. they try but they end uo just sitting around her in silence, maybe drawing or just observing her.
NIKOLAI THO, listen he gives them toys, and jumps them around. If he doesnt have a kid on his arm or his shoulders then hes probably hifing from them, getting chased or fake dying (dramatically). At the orphanage Mal and him make the perfect play buddies, a lot of the times theyre capitains of different teams and really play out their rivalry (and they hit where it hurts. "thats for kissing my wife" mal says stepping on nikolais chest with a wooden sword up to his neck) . Zoya and Alina wonder where they get that energy from.
Theres a particular little girl that always calls nikolai "mister majesty", zoya insists in how its incorrect and inappropriate but nikolai just lets her call him whatever she wants.
Listen both zoya and nikolai get serious marriage propositions from like 7 year olds. with flowers and sometimes even diy rings and all. its cute 😔
I think Nikolai always wanted to be a dad but never feels ready for it really.
Hes all "love kids but i can barely take care of myself how am i supposed to care for a whole another human being"
Zoya says she likes kids only 10 metres away from her.
But whenever they see a cute kid something blooms in their chests cause theyre so tiNY
goes without saying but the YEARNIBG when they see each other with kids..... its intense
But when they DO have their own kids 🥺🥺🥺
as i said, the kind of people that "look how the fuck am i gonna take care of children i can barely support myself and a country absolutely fucking not"
they end up with three. THREE.
I imagine the first one with her hair and his nose, same eye color as his, but she also has The Glare™
Shes sweet but ever since shes born she has an attitude like she takes no shit. What do you mean peas arent illegal. father, peas need to be made illegal. immediately. shes so serioys about the things she cares for. She grows into a very competent leader. Nikolai of course plays along. He makes everyone play along. He will kick someone out of the wsr room if the little girl finds then somewhat scary.
(Theres lots about the kids actual like personalities and shit on the post i linked so go read that if youre interested)
Nikolai is a sweet dad, spoils the kids just a bit and hell be the understanding one if conflict ensues. Hes the one to calm them down and convince them to say sorry if necessary.
They always come to him first if theyre sad, but go to zoya if theyre hurt. Depending on the topic both are the advice parent.
Zoya is the severe parent, shes always the one to tell the kids off. But shes also the one to stand up for them against anything, including Nikolai if necessary. She treats them with fairness.
Of course if the children ask for bedtime stories hell give in, he loves to see them fascinated by their dads adventures. Zoya adores it too.
Hes also the paranoid parent. Your knee is bleeding? oh saints, hell bleed to death, must be so painful. A bit of a headsche? thats it, ill bury my daughter. Its ironic considering he spent his childhood scraping his knees and elboys, climbing trees and fighting other boys.
BUT, hes also the trusting one. When the kids grow up a bit and get in bigger conflicts and even scape off into the city, Zoya gets so nervous and angry about it but precisely cause Nikolais childhood was so hectic hes the one to trust their judgement and let them fail, he will also give them useful advice.
Essentially, zoya is the abstinence parent, nikolai is the condom parent. Shell be the first to warn them of all the horrible outcomes of them doing anything slightly wrong.
Just.... imagine nikolai sleeping with a little baby on his chest.... just do it.....
The kids have his dimples!!!! (no this is not in the book yes this is canon) Especially after theyre just born (cause,,, hormones ya know) zoya prsctically cries about it.
But also theyve all got her eyebrows and with her eyebrows come the deadly glare. Especially their eldest daughter but the other two can manage it too. Its scary when they all look at nikolai the same way at the same time.
But they also have his smile 🥺🥺
okay i think thats all im hungry and my brain wont work anymore xoxo
