Yippee, Susie Headcanon time! This isn't even close to all of the HCs I have for her, just like with the other three, but some of em are like super specific or are Joey/Susie related (which I'm saving for later teehee), but this'll have to do! As per usual, this is my interpretation of her character, blah blah blah, whatever, let's get to em <3

• AuDHD REAL (y’all should expect this by now)

• Has a special interest in plushies/stuffed animals and the 80s/90s My Little Pony shows/toys

• Is really quiet and shy when you first meet her, but once she grows to like and trust you, her personality shines a lot more! She’s a lot more talkative, bubbly, and loves to mess around with you!

• It takes her a while to warm up to people, though, and often finds it hard to trust others unless Julie or Joey are already friends with the person

• Looks up to Julie big time, who’s always been her cool, older role model

• She’s a BITER lmfao, it's her main way of showing affection as off putting as it can be for some people. It’s also a great way for her to get people to back off, since who tf wants to get bit. Tries not to do it as much since she got her braces, but sometimes she just can’t help herself

• Will hide her hands in her hoodie sleeves and whack the hell out of people

• Was really insecure about her braces at first, and got teased about them quite a bit at school. She still gets insecure about em every once in a while, but Julie, Joey, and Frank all make her feel a lot better about having them, so she tries to have fun with them by choosing fun colors every time she gets her bands replaced

• Has an extensive plushie collection! Her favorites consist of a lil black n white cat, a seal, and a worn out teddy bear

• Also has a collection of MLP merch, most of which were gifts from Julie

• Rarely ever seen without a hoodie or some sort of jacket on, both out of comfort and cause she gets cold very easily

• Her room is covered in random art supplies just laying about, and her desk is stained with a shit ton of paint

• Rarely ever stood up for herself when she got bullied, she just had a really hard time with this, so most of the time Julie or Joey would come help her out. Being a part of The Legion helped her gain a bit more confidence outside the mask, however, so she started standing up for herself more often

• Has the most energy of the group, and is practically always bouncing in her seat wanting to do something, whether it's just talking to her friends or going out and actually doing something

• Despite all her energy, though, she will CRASH at the end of the night, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to wake her up until morning, as she’s a very heavy sleeper and will sleep through just about anything

• Owns a lot of clothes with cats on em :3c She just really loves cats

• She’s a nail biter, so Julie started painting Susie’s nails so that she’d stop biting them as much

• Heavily dislikes the holidays, since they tended to feel super lonely and depressing for her growing up. She just felt like she got jipped for most of them, and got pretty jealous seeing how happy other people compared to her.

   • Struggles a lot in school, so she tends to get Julie’s and Joey’s help a lot, and sometimes they’ll have little study sessions just to help her out. She excels in her art and English classes though

• She knows a little bit of French! She’s not at ALL fluent, but she can read, speak, and understand some here and there

• Either has to work in dead silence or with her favorite music on, there is no in-between

   • Whenever she’s not at school or out n about with her friends, she loves to spend time alone in her room working on her art 

   • Has a little diary that she writes EVERYTHING down in, including some of the most insignificant details about her day. Nobody’s allowed to look inside it, not even Julie. She made the mistake of bringing it to school once, and just barely managed to grab it back from some girl who snatched it from her before the girl got to read any of it

 • Hates coffee with the PASSION, she thinks it's absolutely disgusting. She’s not a big fan of tea, either, but she does enjoy milk tea

• She enjoys reading, and has a few books that she loves to reread over and over again

• Loves to bug her friends a lot, and will find little things to do that’ll annoy them without making them upset at her

• She tries REALLY hard to fit in, especially within The Legion, and wants to prove to her friends how cool she actually is. Of course, the other three already love her dearly, but sometimes she doubts herself and thinks she has to try harder despite not even needing to try at all in the first place

• After finding out that Julie liked Frank, she bugged Joey to get him to tell her if Frank liked Julie back. After getting this confirmation, Susie annoyed the HELL out of Frank nonstop about this, and always called him out whenever she caught him staring at Julie or somethin, much to Frank’s annoyance

• She was the one who made the friendship bracelets for the group, and she was SOOOO excited to give them to everyone, since she spent quite some time making them

OH OH ok so i’ve been REALLY getting into the band sleep token and there’s like 4 songs that remind me of him and as a result CANNOT stop listening to them (namely rain, give, mine, and telomeres - i highly recommend them!)

bill will listen to just about anything music wise but has a particular soft spot for things like blues, country, and some older rock like billy joel (also really likes soul and r&b like h.e.r. and muni long but will never admit it) — but generally, in his eyes, if it’s a good song it’s a good song, regardless of genre or artist.

he’s even more open with food, like, he will eat anything in front of him even if he doesn’t like it - just how he was raised. he doesn’t have any set favourites besides some southern classics (he will eat 25 servings of mac n cheese in one sitting if u let him)

i on the other hand am VERY iffy with food and find it hard to eat a lot of things, but we know each other so well now that bill will just eat off my plate sometimes (with consent ofc)

he’s not the best cook but is an absolute GRILL MASTER. all gang cookouts are held at his place (and pearson can’t decide if that’s insulting or not)

we spend like 90% of our time just relaxing together, but he does boxing on the weekends to (and i quote) ‘’stay strong for his lady’’

i know most people view him as gay, but i personally headcanon him as pansexual and into everyone regardless of gender because I feel like that fits him quite well

he really is quite loveable, just sometimes he has trouble showing it - but he’s getting better. his ‘i love you’s come out as random hugs, random compliments, and endearing nicknames (as embarrassing as it is i imagine his go-to is calling me bunny :3)

we’re both kinda insecure so sometimes we have a back-and-forth but it’s compliments. i’ve been telling him every day that he’s wonderful and amazing and the best and that his belly’s one of my favourite things and i will DIE on that hill idc how much he complains.

Bridgerton S3 Part 1 Thoughts

TLDR: Worst season to date.

Specifics/spoilers below the cut.

In no particular order:

The costuming is awful - and I don't just mean historically inaccurate, cause they weren't the 1st two seasons either and I wasn't expecting them to be. Pretty much everything is either ugly or blatant product placement or both, with very few exceptions.

The Featheringtons are funny as shit and possibly the greatest redeeming quality of this season.

Too many subplots. Way too many. Mondritchs, Violet & Lord Anderson, Benedict and his FWB situation, Cressida & Eloise, Francesca (I understand they're setting up her season so I get it but it's a lot of screen time to spend on someone who isn't supposed to be the MC this season).

Collin did not do enough groveling.

Debling and Penelope are both hypocrites and ill-suited to each other. Both claimed they wanted a practical match with someone they could be companionable with but inevitably didn't work out because Debling wasn't okay with Penelope being in love with someone else (odd for someone who wasn't seeking love) and Penelope claimed she was resolved to a practical match but was actually hoping for love the whole time.

Considering they're supposed to get glow ups for their season, Collin's… wasn't it. His hair was awful and so was all the botox/lip flip. The coat was acceptable but felt very out of place.

They did make me sympathize with Cressida, which I didn't think was going to be a thing. I like her and Eloise together. Even if they don' t make it canon, I ship it a little bit.

The Balloon was the DUMBEST thing this whole season. The whole scene felt forced and insanely slow - like Pen had a whole 84 years to get out of the way, and it did not feel nearly as dire as they tried to make it out to be.

The soundtrack was the best thing about this whole season.

While I appreciate the parallel between Cressida and Penelope - both in their third season, practically on the shelf, facing dire futures - it didn't land the way it could have. Felt like a wasted opportunity.

Benedict and his FWB situation is annoying and stupid and was given entirely too much screen time.

Mama Bridgerton is canny and I love her for it. The blatant "oh btw Penelope is getting proposed to tonight" to kick Collin's butt into gear is fabulous even if it was obvious.

Brimsley and the Queen's relationship is still my favorite. Besties 4 Life.

I love Francesca and John just sitting together in contented silence. <3 Big fan.

Collin's attempts at being a rake didn't land. Like, if they were intending to do it as a way of showing him trying to be someone he isn't, it felt very forced and flat. Collin's characterization this whole season honestly feels very flat. It almost feels like he is still adrift, not invested in the stakes of the season.

Eloise calling on Cressida during calling hour is Gay and I will die on that hill.

Collin writing regency erotica is eternally funny to me. I see many potential AUs of him being a romance novelist and Penelope being his unwitting muse.

The Queen's wigs getting more and more ridiculous just absolutely sent me. The swans?? How did that even work mechanically? Like I'm all for some creative license but come on.

The Queen striking out three seasons in a row with her matchmaking is hilarious but also kind of sad.

Eloise and Cressida in the box during the last ball? GAY. I like them together. I know Eloise is supposed to wind up with someone else (Sir Phillip?) but GD they have chemistry.

Idc about Danbury's feud with her brother. It's so out of left field. Like I know they're maybe trying to build up to Violet finding someone to... tend to her Garden (and that person being Marcus) but it just feels... bleh. Unnecessary.

Portia Featherington is a shit mother and she deserves to be slapped.

I'll give them props for the increased representation - it was nice to see HOH/Deaf & disabled representation, even if it felt a little... token-y? I'm hoping there will be more so it will level out.

The carriage scene. Was it steamy? Yes. I'll give it to them. Luke and Nicola have great chemistry. But did Collin earn that??? After ruining her prospects and then literally ruining her???? No. His proposal immediately afterwards felt impulsive and lust driven instead of love driven, maybe even duty driven since he 'ruined' her. And we saw way more of him being into her than we did of her being into him, I felt like.

Overall... rushed, too crowded by subplots, flat, and frankly disappointing. I really hope they bring it back around come part two but the teaser honestly just makes it seem like it's going to be more of the same. It's missing the charm of the first two seasons - or of the Queen Charlotte spinoff, which I really enjoyed.

gonna be super duper controversial with this one so im putting on bubble wrap to protect myself but least favourite donnie is… rise. oops. HEAR ME OUT!! i am totally fine with others liking rise don. i get the appeal. but my heart will forever love gentle, soft, sweet donnie, and whilst the change up in rise is COOL as hell, i just can’t with the sarccy, cold, snarky version of him. (plus i have a LOOOOT to say about ahem. certain stereotypes when it comes to writers creating canonically autistic characters but that’s another rant for another time) ONCE AGAIN!! i still enjoy his character!! but i just don’t find him to be my favourite.. okay swiftly moving on lol

"fucking" can be a really crass way of describing soft, loving sex when you use it wrong (which is very easy to do), and i feel like "making love" describes it a lot better. just like how rough/angry sex would obviously not be called making love, because that's not really a good way to describe it. sex falls on a spectrum. it can be rough, soft, loving, angry, passionate, indifferent, the list goes on. and you can't use one or two words to describe all of that. not all sex is just fucking. not all sex is just sleeping together. sometimes it's making love. obviously everyone has their preferences and it's okay if you don't like it, but i feel like the whole internet has unanimously agreed that's it's stupid but it's really not.

You know what, fuck it. Taylor is a good lyricist and tbqh it shows. And taking goofy lyrics out of context to dunk on her is basic because Ben Shapiro does that shit to black artists and rappers all the time and it’s lazy, like the ppl in the 2010s doing that with Nicki lyrics on something like stupid hoe as if she didn’t have an entire discography of songs with much better verses and rhymes than that. Anyone can do it to make anyone seem like a shitty songwriter.

I get not liking Taylor and not vibing with her music. It’s very hit or miss with me and I will die in the hill that midnights is one of her worst albums and fans pretending otherwise are delusional.

But this album is just good. Is it great or perfect or life changing? No but it’s good and does what it sets out to do. And her lyrics are very good with this album and it’s obvious she put more care and consideration into them with this album. The actual music and melodies are again a bit mid and interchangeable song to song, but the lyrics keep me listening each time. And that’s a huge get imo because few people have lyrics in a way where I’m going to listen to a mid song just to see what they’re saying.

Taylor is a storyteller, and it’s through the lyrics she tells stories. Don’t like the stories all you want idc but pretending she doesn’t have a knack for it just because you don’t understand the (very unearned lol) hype around her is really just basic as hell imo. I’m like reminded of the goth kids from South Park or the emo song from the 00s where hating on anything mainstream is the point more than if anything is actually good or if you like it.

The cycle of ppl hating on Taylor because well she’s Taylor just riles up her fans more and gets them to act psychotic and extra to defend her and it’s like she’s not worth all that. Don’t like her then just stfu and guess what? The fans are the only ones talking about her and she doesn’t get that much attention! Which is what you want! When you instead make post after post bitching about ppl liking an album, all you do is hype the fans up and get them making more of a big deal and straight lying about how good she is. Know what I do when I don’t like them? I dead them. They don’t exist to me. And typically they go away. I refuse to believe otherwise, and do not get me wrong, there are some AMAZINGLY made horror for kids stuff! Coraline is beautiful, FNAF was good in it's hay day, Poppy Playtime had a LOT of potential, Monster House is a work of art idc what anyone says it is my SHIT

But as a whole the horror for kids push that happened after FNAF got so popular has been...

Bad. It's been bad. It has done awful things to the horror medium and I want it to die so bad I hate it. Because every possible good Horror For Kids game I see gets turned to fucking dust by the developers who get a taste for that sweet sweet edgy 12 year old money and chase that instead of making their fucking shit. Poppy Playtime with their shit NFTs, FNAF should've died YEARS ago, Bendy and the Ink Machine had a great start but absolutely royally fucked it all up chasing after a fucking game theory, and do NOT get me started on Hello Neighbor I will SCREAM about it.

I want kids to explore dark topics at their own pace, imo it is INCREDIBLY important to very gently introduce children to dark and often scary topics (to a point ofc) so they have a chance to develop the emotional skills to deal with such things. But the thing so many people completely miss is

HORROR IS INTRISICALLY FUCKING QUEER.

You take the queerness out of horror and what you're left with is just...fucking soulless to be honest with you. Whether it's straight plain old El Gibity queer or exploring kink or mental illness, queerness is intrinsically tied to every cult classic, every box office horror darling, every stephen king book, every silent hill game, all of it. You cannot take queerness out of this genre, you cannot sanitize it to just make it all nice and pretty for kids while ignoring the values of horror itself. And obviously, queerness needs to be shown to kids, full stop, so these attempts make everything even MORE lifeless and dull.

Horror is about making the right people uncomfortable. It is taking things the "average person" (cishet, able bodied, white, etc) find scary and shoving it in their throat. Reminding them they are not safe from these things they fear so deeply, they cannot hide behind their white picket fences and pretend "oh well it couldn't be OUR neighborhood", they cannot go through life expecting nothing tragic to ever happen because bad, horrific things can and do happen to everyone, they cannot "pray away" all of the things they see as flaws that are simply who someone is, they cannot ignore their traumas despite how much they try, and they certainly can't keep a curious kid away from something dark.

Things that capture a childs attention like Slenderman (throwback for those my age lol), the Backrooms, Analogue Horror, things specifically and fully NOT made for kids that very clearly stick around much better than any shallow cash grab that claims to be for kids.

And it leads to shit like this, it leads to horror being so fucking sanitized and basically an aesthetic rather than a fucking art form. It leads to people not having a lick of proper understanding of the genre, you get sanitized dried up garbage that's fed into people's brains because in the effort of conservatives to sanitize everything and anything of queerness it is consistently ruining any art we have made for ourselves.

It's infuriating to see, as someone who has loved horror since learning about creepypasta in 5th grade and due to the Tism™️ that never fucking leaving I hate seeing purity culture ruin art. I hate the rise of "problematic media" ruining our art. Art is problematic, to be problematic is to be human. You can and should have your criticisms when it comes to horror, I am well aware that some of the shit in this genre is straight up bigoted sometimes (even though personally 90% of the time I see that shit it's because someone wanted to make a quick buck off some shit scares rather than actually understanding the genre properly) but you will never, ever find horror media that isn't problematic. Because it is horror. Because horror is human. The emotion that connects every single creature on this planet is fucking fear, it is the most earthly emotion known to man, and you expect it to be pure? You expect that to be sanitized and clean?
