there are two great loves of nika's life. minfilia was the first. when he came to the scions, aimless and lonely, he stuck by her, because who wouldn't? who would look at her and think she's not worth the devotion? nika had just started his 20s, with a fresh scar on his face from a blow he took for a beloved friend, and minfilia offered a place to stay, a place to be useful, a place to maybe build something. and he fell in love, as one does, though his love was sadly one-sided, and minfilia never hesitated to use it to the advantage of scions and eorzea, often to much anguish to nika himself. but he allowed her. because being useful to her was enough. because he wasn't really made for anything else, was he? a bard to sing, a bowman to shoot, a knight to serve his lady. artoirel came in nika's life in what's arguably its most painful period yet. even if nika secretly thought his jaded, angry, grieving self would turn artoirel off, it did not. both are stuck with titles they have complex feelings for; both grew up parentless and lonely; it didn't matter that artoirel far outranked nika in ishgard for a time, nor did it matter that nika was an outsider. a knight lives to serve, true, but here they stood on equal ground, they spoke a common language. they found a life companion in each other, and eventually, a husband. he will love minfilia always, but he will always remember the way his love for her hurt. and he will sometimes be angry with artoirel, their prides will sometimes butt heads, but in the end, he knows that he's happy with him, and that love, for once, doesn't have to hurt. there are, after all, two great loves of his life.

At first I was confused when they showed Mario wearing the worried expression while Luigi looked calm and cheerful in this situation:

Normally it's the other way around, right? Then I realized that this probably happened immediately after the close call with the cliff.

So Luigi is all fine and dandy because his bro saved him, but Mario's still kinda emotionally recovering from the incident. I am very normal about that.

Watching this again, it becomes incredibly clear in s3 that Nate is teaching Parker how to run her own crew. He fully anticipates that she will be his legacy, and more than anyone else---more than Sophie or Hardison, more than Eliot (though I would argue that Eliot never even slightly wanted it)---he is teaching her how to take over, think like he thinks and plan like he plans. He fumbles some of the emotional stuff, never actually tells her explicitly...but by the time you reach s3 he's clearly all-in. He's decided. Parker is going to be Nate 2.0, with different more exciting bugs than the 1.0 version.

I love this gay ass show with its literally life ending injuries that heal immediately, but only when convenient to the plot, and its ridiculous use of modern phrases, and its laughing in the face of historical accuracy, and its kissing the face of the fans instead of trying to outwit them, and the way everyone involved in the show seem to go 'I KNOW RIGHT! I'M EXCITED TOO!' instead of mocking the fans

Also, I know we all love to joke about how Dionysus thought Zag transitioned when he saw Melinoe for the first time, but like, what if he genuinely could only make out the eye colors and vaguely similar clothing (more like the pallets of it) bc he is just too drunk. What if he is trying so hard to run away from the war outside his party that he can barely recognize the people around him anymore. What if he was so relieved to see his cousin alive and well and on Olympus because he actually does care a lot about what is happening but he is also not able to cope. What if the Insanity he can inflict onto others is spilling over onto him eating away at his mind while he falls further and further.

so true we do. a match was cancelled and rescheduled due to inclement weather, which is fine, it happens occasionally. except, the reschedule interferes with your work trip, which is how yuuta ends up with your baby boy in his lap at his pre-match press conference. yuuta was worried at first, your son definitely wouldn’t be used to the cameras and reporters, and it was also seven in the morning, so he really hoped the baby wouldn’t become too irritated, but all his worrying was for nothing. 

your baby boy didn’t seem to the mind the cameras, or the large crowd of people, his father was right there to hold him through the entire thing. with them side by side like this, their similarities really show; their droopy eyelids and tired expression, the occasional slow blinking when they’re confused or in thought, the same nose scrunch that makes everybody coo when it happens. one reporter mentions you by name, and that makes the otherwise sleepy baby perk and babble “mama” into the microphone instinctively, which melts everybody’s hearts, yuuta’s included, “that’s right, baby, that’s mama,” he coos, pinching his kid’s cheek before returning his attention to the reporter, “but, yeah, my wife—she’s great. she’s away on work right now, and we miss her a lot, but i’m so proud of her. i got to speak to her right before this conference actually, and she said she’d tune in when she could, so i hope she’s watching—wait, sorry, um… what was the question again?” (his rambling off about my wife my wife my wife is not new. it happens in every conference and interview, he’s just a loverboy through and through). 

during the match, it’s dead silent when yuuta’s about to serve and then there’s the tiniest cry of “dada,” just as he’s about the throw the ball up, which makes him smile and stop and turn to his son, and the entire crowd coos. yuuta is not too proud to blow a kiss before going to serve again.
