I love them your honor. Doesn't even have to be romantic, I just want to see them being obsessed about each other. I'm also a pretty big obianidala fan, hence why I added her too. (I'm a multishipper really. I have my otp but there's a lot of ships that I enjoy)

1. Obi-Wan Kenobi/Anakin Skywalker(/Padmé Amidala) (Star Wars)

When I first watched star wars (not that long ago, I only watched it because I wanted to see the sequels in theater lmao) I wasn't a big fan of the prequels so I mostly ignored them, but then a couple years ago I randomly rewatched them in the middle of the night and suddenly I was obsessed. I'm not even sure how I ended up on AO3 (did I go look for obikin? Did I stumble on it? Idk) but eventually I started reading Pining in Preschool, then realised that @palfriendpatine66 was on tumblr, I started interacting with more people around here, and now I'm (slowly) writing fics, and I'm having the time of my life here, so thanks Pal!

I don't think any if my past fandom brainrots reached my current level so I'm pretty sure I'm here for the long haul (at least it's not stopping anytime soon).

It's not super obvious here but I'm actually a huge Marvel fan (well, the MCU, I've never read a comic), and especially Captain America. Stucky is just, 🤌 so tasty (a lot of similarities with obikin actually imo). I'd like to talk to whoever thought "I'm with you 'til the end of the line" was a straight sentence to repeatedly say to your bro throughout an entire century though. Like?? I'm all for relationships that defy the boundaries of platonic and romantic, but still, that's kinda gay.

2. Steve Rogers/James "Bucky" Barnes(/Peggy Carter) (Marvel Cinematic Universe)

The first MCU movie I saw was actually captain america 2 (and not the first one lol) in theater, and I was instantly hooked, though since Endgame I've been less into it, since my fav is gone (and I have to agree with tumblr on that one: they're making too many movies and shows, I can't keep up 😩)

(And I'm still super salty about what they did to steve in canon, they should have killed him off instead of whatever the fuck that was, honestly)

I also added Peggy because she's great, and polyamory is so much better than love triangles or shipping wars. (I'm not polyamorous but I believe in their beliefs. I think it's because of the aromanticism)

Same as with obikin (and stucky too tbh) I don't really care how they love each other, I just care that they do. They're the most important person to each other, be it romantic, platonic, familial, idc.

3. John Watson/Sherlock Holmes (mostly BBC Sherlock, but from the RDJ movies and the books too)

I've obsessed over (non-existent) clues during the last season, and deluded myself into thinking they'd become canon, alas, it didn't happen.

I've translated a couple of fics in french for that ship, but I've never written for it (I thought about it tho), and I've read a lot. That's the fandom where I've read some of the best queerplatonic fics, and that's my favorite interpretation of the ship, especially sherlock being some flavor of aroace.

4. Aziraphale/Crowley (Good Omens)

I love them as a queerplatonic relationship, and I genuinely think that's what they are in canon, the haters can suck it, that's not queerbaiting even if they dont become a canon couple.

Okay, I'm starting to see a patern here. Am I really that predictable? You can just copy-past what I said above.

5. Elizabeth Bennet/Mr Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)

Not quite the same vibe as the others, but I've read sooo many fics and books (straight up published fics lol), I've watched a bunch of different adaptations (even the one with zombies)... The worst part is that I think I've only read the og book once, oops.

I actually inherited that fandom from the women in my family lmao. My mom, sister and sister-in-law are all obsessed with it, so I read it to see what all the fuss was about and, yeah, I get it.

And that's it! There are other fandoms I'm into, and other ships in those fandoms, but that's pretty much it (the main one that's missing is Dinluke, the others are mostly smaller ones).

I'm not super actively in those fandoms (apart from Star Wars obviously) but i come back to them now and then. Usually I re-watch it then binge-read a bunch of fics (while my main fandom stays in the main spot in my brain) then I let it go again until it comes back (while obikin still stays in the main spot).

Also Harry Potter used to be my main obsession but JKR kinda ruined that for me so I'm not really into it anymore (hence why I didn't list it even though I have written fics for it).

Okay first of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I’m so glad you were born and that you put this story out into the world, because I am fucking obsessed. So.

These last few chapters were amazing and I’m caught up now, and I did work out that Chip was named Chip because of the chip, and what the necklace was — but NOT that she was Michaels sponsor! I thought the bank account was some kind of sobriety chip shorthand but I couldn’t make it make sense and that’s because that was NOT in fact what it was about. This is brilliant, I loved the mic drop at the end of chapter 12, and just UHH I LOVE IT ALL

love that Tony finds Tina scary, i have a coworker who’s so similar to her and I was TERRIFIED til I managed to earn her trust and respect (which literally took me a year).

love the way you worked in real lines from the EC’s interaction in s3, and how you added that line about Tony leaving… so PERFECTLY in character and just so right and I’m starting to go incoherent now but I just think that moment was excellent, chef

Tina was so scary to me in S1 because all I want to do when it comes to older female agro coworkers is impress them so much and if they DONT like me I’ll fly off my balcony on god. IT TAKES SO LONG TO EARN THAT RESPECT!! And now I think their relationship (Tony and Tinas) in like Chapter 2 seems so much softer and cuter now knowing that Tony had to work for that shit lmao. 

THANK YOUUU the scene with David in S3 was SO well-timed because it’s very clearly like, the moment before I think Carmy will go on his fucking S4 bender (ideally of self growth) and so I just got to go “alright, we’ll just skip like MOST of Season 3 and go right to 4 ig”. Love that for writing. I don’t have to rework with SHIT!

5. Do you respond to comments? I try to! I really, really try to!!!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Well right now it is hands down and without question a Deadalive chapter I've written for my txf AU, but that won't be posted for a while. I guess I would have to say it's a toss up between Bitter Truth (txf) and The Coin (blindspot).

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? The Family (blindspot). If you want an x files one then where I've currently left The Bet is happy as shit. This will change however lmao

8. Do you get hate on fics? To date I have not. There is one fic I went into knowing that it was going to be a possibly unpopular take on an already INCREDIBLY unpopular plot line. I knew it will never be beloved, but thankfully, people were gracious even so.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I have thus far had no reason to do so, and I'm not sure I'd take that on. As a reader I think it's tough to do it well, in a way that doesn't make things awkward or clunky for people who don't speak the language.

Once again I almost ran over here after the very first scene💀💀💀 so let me get into it…

1. These episodes were not as strong or as long as the first 3 but these writers are funny as hell (not sure if it’s intentional or just actually bad writing but it’s enjoyable🤡)

2. I SCARED MY DAMN DOG LAUGHING SO HARD AT THE PUBLIC VOTE…. OF COURSE fusebox found the one way to get our partner stolen without it being our “twins fault”. I think Amelia redeemed herself for me afterwards when they had their cute twin moment though and I’m still picking all the nice options

What were your top five books of the year?

1. Cafe Europa by Slavenka Drakulic. I honestly don't know how I didn't read this until this year, but as always everything she writes is brilliant

2. Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. I am a complete sucker for any kind of intergenerational family saga

3. The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. It's not necessarily the best written book I've ever read, but it really does hit a lot of the stuff I like in sci-fi and is just generally delightful

4. Buru Quartet by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Set during the end of Dutch colonial rule and originally written while the author was in prison by recitation because he wasn't allowed pen and paper. The prose itself is absolutely beautiful at times

5. The Time of Contempt (from the Witcher series) by Andrzej Sapkowski - I've been kind of lukewarm on the Witcher series up til now but this one really hit for me! I sort of like how it almost felt like a stage play, there's not a ton of action on the page, but you're moving from one discreet scene to the next and most of the plot progresses through the dialogue.

I only read a couple new 2023 releases this year and they were all massive disappointments lmao. Next closest thing is probably Nona the Ninth which technically came out last year but I didn't get ahold of it until January, and was of course very good!

Probably the Buru Quartet again! I've otherwise been on a huge recent-ish SFF streak trying to catch up on some series, so I haven't read a whole lot that's older, but most of the ones I did pick up just did not do anything for me. ooh, this is a tricky one. the obvious answer is Cold, Dark, Depraved, but that one's SO angsty all the way through that the ending is rather... cold and dispassionate by comparison. the other answer is Ner Tamid but I suppose that depends on your definition of angst. there's an air of resoluteness to the ending; it isn't particularly fraught, it's just horrific

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

hmm. Sanguine, Five Girls, and Crawl 'Til Dawn all end with a getting-together (well, in CTD it happens a bit before the ending, but still). Five Girls has the element of self-acceptance and the confidence to live the rest of your life open and free and unburdened, but Crawl 'Til Dawn has the element of murdering your evil ex and then riding off into the sunset. guess it depends on which makes you happier lmao

8. Do you get hate on fics?

no? I write niche enough stuff that nobody's gonna read it if they're not into it

as of this year I do! I've been writing fic for over half my life at this point and I was so certain for so long that I would never be comfortable writing smut. and then I came to a scene in hagfic that I knew would hit so much harder if the characters were having sex. so I resigned myself to my fate and I fought through the embarrassment and now look at me. I'm a certified pervert

I am still holding onto the belief that someday I will write To Cross Running Water, my sprawling black sails canon retelling where everything is the same except flint is a vampire. I refuse to let myself think I will die not having written it.

the actual answer is Say It Out Loud, my other trent/ted vampire au where ted is the vampire this time. I started writing it at the same time I started Sanguine-- literally the exact same moment. I had two word documents open in split screen. then I went all-in on Sanguine for a month (still insane to me that I finished it in a month) and I swore Say It Out Loud was gonna be shorter and faster and sillier, but then. I moved so slowly. and it got bigger and bigger. I got 30k into it-- thirty thousand words into it-- before season three came out. then s3 aired and it was so bad it killed all my enthusiasm for the show, and I really do not know if I'll ever bring myself to finish the fic now. I think it would have ended up being another 15k or so. I'd like to hold out hope that I'll go back to it but the hope diminishes every day

16. What are your writing strengths?

MOOD. mood. tone and mood. florid description. the rhythmic flow of the language-- cadence and meter are so ingrained in my mind; if it SOUNDS wrong, it IS wrong. I have a strong command of language and I can set a lush and vivid scene. and I need to do very little editing. it just springs out from my brain fully-formed like athena from the skull of zeus

Sorry for getting back to you so late! I’m the anon who asked about Smallville and when you think I should stop. I’m really enjoying it so far. I just finished season one and am starting season two. Clark and Lana had me from the jump, like it’s been so long since a pairing has had chemistry and has hooked me quickly lol. I don’t mind Chloe and Clark, but I also feel like they’re better as friends. At least now regarding season one. I really like Lex and Clark’s friendship, and I’d rather not see them lose that friendship, so I’ll probably check out after season 2 of this show, haha. Especially since the creepy Lex stuff starts happening in season 3 and 4 like you said. Also I don’t know what happens to Pete, but I do know he’s not around for the whole show and I think that’s disappointing. Overall, I find this show to be great and despite not being too much into Superhero shows and movies in general, I just love this kind of writing so far. What are your thoughts on Smallville pairings? (I don’t mind spoilers haha)

Oh no worries! So, just wanted to clarify, in s3, the show gets slick, and at this point, the characters are like, eighteen I think? So there's a relationship shift where Lex and Clark's relationship grows more strained, and Lex and Lana's relationship expands. There's nothing outwardly romantic, but the show frames it in a way where I'm like...no don't do this. Like, I know what they're alluding to, but as long as Lana is in high school, it's not gonna happen, and they stick to that. The moments are brief, and I don't think Lex actually attempts to weakly shoot his shot til s4 and that's more about his and Clark's deteriorating relationship, and less about Lana herself. She ends up dating Jason in s4 anyway and that's funny and inappropriate and weird and season 4 is actually funny because it's totally ridiculous and then they go to China and it's like how are teenagers just jet setting to CHINA to be abducted by Chinese police and tortured, what the fuck is going on now? While also still SO OBVIOUSLY filming in Chinatown in vancouver? LOL. It's ridiculous, so if you're ever curious, give it a shot. Tap out when Lex hallucinates becoming a regular guy and having a family with Lana. That's a good time to tap out (late s4 I believe). And also Clark and Lois become more of a thing in s4 and that's SO annoying because Lois is AWFUL.

Yeah, Pete. He leaves the show season 3 I think? I liked Pete for sure, but the actor did talk about what it was like being on a show where his character wasn't even meant to be Black, and going through that kind of fan hate pre-internet fandom era, seemed like it was hard for him.

Yeah, I think Smallville's saving grace was it came before the whole Marvel superhero movie machine, so this was about Clark growing up and BECOMING superman, not already being full on superman, and so it manages to humanize him in a way that superhero movies fail to do. Tom Welling's Clark has complex emotions, struggles with trying to fit in and find his place in the world, while also helping people with his gifts and even just keeping his family on their farm lol. it's a very human show, despite the super hero/natural element, and that's what makes it easy to love.

As far as relationships go, I, obviously, am a steadfast Clana fan even when it gets STUPID and Lana wants superpowers so to fuck it up for them, Lex makes sure it's like...kryptonite based and her power is embedded into her skin so she ends up leaving the show because her and Clark can't physically touch. SO DRAMATIC lmao. But honestly look at them.

Tbh, I believed Clark and Lex's friendship the least, because it felt like, Lex was so obviously never being honest with Clark, and constantly like investigating him or whatever, and antagonizing and testing Clark, and because he was always doing shady shit, it was hard for me to believe it when the writing said "they're like brothers!" but Lex only came to Clark when he wanted something and/or just was at the Talon for coffee and witnessed an embarrassing moment or something. Or Clark went to him for help, and it seems like so many episodes pit them against each other, it's hard to see the actual value of their friendship? They actually don't spend a lot of time together, and it's not suggested that they do. Whereas, straight from the pilot, and the dialogue thereafter, it's clear that Chloe and Pete know Clark really well and they're ALWAYS together, and when they fight, it's for real reasons, Clark keeping secrets, Chloe's feelings, Pete's...*gestures vaguely*. I also preferred Clark and Chloe as friends, but I understood the confusion you feel when you're so close to someone, and you never even consider them a romantic possibility, and then suddenly there it is. But he did Chloe pretty dirty lol, so I was kinda glad when they packed it up and she found Jimmy later. Her and Jimmy were cute as hell from what I remembered, and then I liked her and Oliver together, which I wasn't expecting because I REALLY liked Jimmy. That was hard.

I liked Martha and Jonathan together. Like, no one really talks about them, but I thought that Jonathan gave Clark horrific advice, but they were a good pair that I believed as a married couple and liked the nuclear family. Lionel was A FAVE lmao he's horrible. But I hate how they defanged him by making him a Clark stan when Lex turns on him. I think that's it! Hope you stick around til at least s3!

1: sexuality headcanon

Summed up by the phrase "I'm not gay, but 20 bucks is 20 bucks." And I don't mean that in the offensive sense. Pip is largely straight, but has definitely questioned himself and engaged in some intimate acts with men. Just to give it a shot while he was young and staring death in the face.

Maybe the best term is straight but homoflexible. Like he is attracted to women, but under the right set of circumstances he wouldn't turn a man down even if he wouldn't usually pursue it. And all things considered, for as rare as it is, Pip is pretty comfortable with it.

If anything, one of the things keeping him from being any more interested in men is all the time he spends with the rest of the Geese. Camp is a bit too rough and fighting with and losing men like your brothers creates quite a bit of emotional scar tissue.

SerPip. They deserved so many good things and I start sobbing every time I have to watch Pip's death. At least they have each other for company forever, though. 'Til death do they part is no match for a determined little vampire, apparently!

3: brotp

Canon-wise I dunno if we really saw Pip's interactions with the rest of the Hellsing cast to really say he'd be bros with anybody (even between Iscariot and Mill!) But I think he'd probably be pretty cool bros with Integra. Similar ages and leaderly roles in their respective groups. It's easy to see them kicking back to have a cigar together and chat at least once. Teggy desperately needs more friends and socialization outside of work, too, and so in that respect Pip would be healthy for her.

But that said non-canon wise it's gotta be Pip and Barrett. Like, they're at the right age to wingman for each other and they have absolutely iconic chemistry as friends. We need to see more of them. Pretty pls. (I mean I could theoretically also write some but I am far more inclined to write uncle Pip to Barrett's kids because That is also rich with possibility...)

Honestly I don't give a shit who ships what or how relationships between other characters are explored. And like, I think there are plenty of chances to explore Pip as a comrade and friend to many folks of the cast. But if we're talking about romantic shipping, I don't think I could ever see Pip with Alucard or Walter. And TBF I haven't seen it, but it also seems like a crack thing with relatively little canon support (until somebody kicks down my door and informs me otherwise).

5: first headcanon that pops into my head

Dude is surprisingly good at holding a home together. Like he keeps the place clean enough, knows how to cook basic things, and probably bothers to at least half-ass making his bed every morning. There's something about the civility to be savored at home before going back out to work, you know? He lives like a dog the rest of the time so he may as well live like a man while it suits him.

6: favorite line from this character

Full disclosure I do not really bond closely with lines or specific phrases. So it's hard to remember and I had to go back and listen to a bunch of stuff lmao.

But pip's little monolog to to Seras before Zorin shows up where he's talking about London and how nice and normal people were just kinda gets me. It's not quite the same as a love letter to the mundane life, but he's one of the few folks in hellsing really showing off some humanity there. So I really like that one, as often as I forget about it lol.

7: one way in which I relate to this character

Honestly Pip seems like the kinda guy to roll with the punches and that's how I like to think I am too. Like, he's adaptable: learns the supernatural is real (ok), decides he wants a vampire gf (brave man), and still manages to stand for his core beliefs at the end of the day. I like to think I'm the same in that sense, where I can adapt until I have something worth standing up for.

8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character

I dont think anything canon pip would do could ever give me second hand embarrassment. But also consider he can't really rub one out in privacy after being made into a familiar. And he's stuck in his uniform unless he needs to change. Seras can't just imagine him in other clothes, right????

A few? Writing, drawing, divination (like, any person I've done tarot for that I'm only an acquaintance with (i.e. people who I worked with) were freaked out by how right I got them just looking at their cards)), uuuuuh... idk I'm good at cleaning? And weirdly sagely advice since I was 5 (my advice at 5 years old led to one of my relatives being married quite literally til death did them part) and getting people who have only known me for 30 minutes to tell me their deepest darkest secrets/traumas (I don't know why this happens. You swear a lot but in secret. 

Well, it's never been a secret before you met Legolas. You'd swear and curse over everything. It was one of the most effective ways to express your feelings. When you and Legolas first kissed, you resisted the urge to say, "Fucking finally" after he pulled away and gleamed at you with satisfaction. There was another instance that occurred when you and Legolas were alone in the woodland and you nearly tripped over a tree and fell face first onto the floor of the forest. An almost silent "Holy shit" left your lips as you found yourself in Legolas's arms, your eyes meeting his concerned yet slightly amused ones.

"Are you alright, my love?" He said, completely oblivious of your near slip up of cursing. All you could do was nod sheepishly in response as he lead you back onto your feet and laced his fingers with yours.

Your swearing toned down as you got used to containing yourself around Legolas and the elves of higher status you were introduced to (a result of courting Legolas). Something you also noticed about Legolas was that you'd never heard him curse once. Not even when he was angry. The most his extremely calm and collected manner ever released would be some form of muttered elvish that was incoherent. This lead you to stray away from releasing any form of curse words you knew and frequently said in the past. Were it to be anyone else, you'd have taken no attention to your use of swear words and continue on with your life. Yet there was something about you swearing in front of the Woodland Prince that made you panic inside. He'd never judge you, you were sure of it, yet something held you back. It was childish, but the last thing you wanted to do was taint your near-perfect relationship with him.

To Legolas, you were pure and could do no wrong, and being enveloped by his presence even made you feel as such. Through his collected and often misguided as cold demeanour, beneath all that was a gentle soul. One that made your knees weak and words stutter you didn't want to be the cause of a downfall in your relationship. The sound of a curse leaving your mouth was not even remotely plausible to him and not a thought that ever crossed his mind. And you intended to keep it that way.

He was in the bathing room of your shared bedroom when he heard you enter the room with detected distress from the heavy footfalls and uneven breathing. The reason for your distress being that you were ordered by your advisor to search for a plant similar to athelas that began sprouting in the forests once again. You had trailed to the library and piled book upon book with thousands of words regarding botanical information. You left with books towered within the same height as your head and cautiously walked to your bedchambers. His hand was on the doorknob, his other hand holding a towel that he recently used to dry his wet hair.

You balanced the tower of books in your arms, tried everything in your power to maintain the balance. Then suddenly it came out,

"Oh, fuck!" you shouted, and the books trampled to the floor. You'd also managed to tip a half-full glass of water, causing it to spill on the table you stood near.

"What the fuck," you said quietly with a distressed sigh, droplets of water falling from the table and pooling onto the floor next to the books.

The bathing room door widened and you turned around, your senses heightening at the immediate and unexpected sound. You were faced with Legolas, his face the essence of an unreadable expression. Lips slightly parted. Which was what he always did when he was trying to analyze a situation.

"(Y/n)?"

You were frozen, and soon after the silence, a heavy awkwardness followed. "Have you been here this entire time?" You said, not even attempting to maintain any coolness in your voice for all composure abandoned you.

He raised the towel in his hand, implying that he'd been in the bathing room all this time. His eyes met yours and you averted them, slowly kneeling to the ground. You gathered the fallen books as Legolas watched you silently. You felt the heat rise on the surface of your cheeks in utter suspense.

"I tried to keep it a secret." You said softly, awaiting the inevitable backlash that you tried your hardest to prevent.

"Keep what a secret?" Legolas asked, oblivious to the shameful cloud that hovered above your being. He walked to you and leant down, helping you with the fallen books. "What has gotten you this distressed, A'maelamin?" He said, placing the rest of the books on the table and cupping your cheek.

You were confused, anxious, a thousand thoughts flew in your head as to what was happening and why Legolas was completely unfazed. "Why aren't you upset?" You said, examining his nonchalant expression.

"They are only books, are they not?" He smiled, pulling you up so you were both standing now.

"I just swore like a drunk orc."

"Yes, it is what adults do." He said calmly, talking to you as though you were a child. "What are these books for?" He gestured to the table.

"I've never heard you swear in my life, not once. You are truly fine with this?" You asked, wondering if he was concealing his impending shock or disgust.

"Everyone does it occasionally, there is no need to fret over it, my love," Legolas reassured you, probably thinking it was your first time expressing yourself through cursing.

"I thought I had to hide it from you." You admitted, feeling a fool for all the trouble you put yourself through.

"Why would you hide that from me? I would never judge you for such a thing." He said seriously, with a small chuckle of disbelief escaping his mouth at the end. He inched his face closer to yours, speaking quietly, "Believe it or not, Melamin, but I find the sound of cursing from your lips quite alluring. Nothing like a drunk orc."

You breathed in relief, you calmed down yet a new, regained redness appeared on your face for a completely different reason. Before you could reply Legolas's lips were on yours, his hands travelling your form.

"He's nearly 3000 years old, so he's obviously witnessed and heard a lot of shit..." You thought. This was nothing new to him.

But now it was as though the moments before hadn't happened, all you could think about now was the elf in front of you.
