Is anyone else having trouble unlocking the Goat fleece in single-player mode? I did what the tutorial suggested (dying during a Crusade to unlock the pillar), but when I check the Crown, it has the "!" sign on it, but there's no new fleeces aside from the ones I already have unlocked. I think my game might be bugged.
#cotl#cult of the lamb#same for the chef outfit#i was told in-game that i unlocked the recipe for it#but it's still unavailable for me to actually craft#why is my game bugging so much#does anyone have any advice on how to fix this

Volo here got a speedrun record of getting into a meanful relationship AND breakup, bro just went for it
Meanwhile Guzma over here is stuck in a 500k slowburn fic like a true soldier
PFFFTTTTTT
volo, speedrunner: and if we stand in this spot at JUST the right time and we have the right Secret ID and world seed -- this is why we did the RNG manipulation at the start of the game -- you can clip out of bounds and go directly to the end credits. It's all really quite simple, I got it on my first try, though I did have an advantage in that I was familiar with most of the controls from the prequel series --
guzma, completionist: so we're almost done with collecting every recipe -- we just gotta remake a couple of 'em with different toppings and we're missing some of the desserts that're locked behind other events and the skilltree. Now we've been grinding up for skill points, but we're actually gonna put these towards upgrading our dash ability and mitigating effects of low sleep, it's gonna really matter in the next -- chat, I already TOLD ya the romance skill tree's locked for a couple more plot points -- no, I'm not gonna use a speedrun strat to activate it before the cutscene!! -- chat, this isn't rigged, it's -- you're here at an 100% stream, you're gonna have t'wait -- all right, knuckleheads, I'll unlock the screaming sound for 2 minutes if ya wanna waste all your channel points on it, but I'm gonna keep makin' mac n cheese while you're doing that -- IT'S NOT RIGGED!

suna is in a good mood.
"look at you, beaming like the sun has finally shone in your favor," komori drawls, nudging him in the locker room. "did one of your shitposts finally become viral on twitter?"
"that happened already," washio reminds him from across the bench. "remember that edit he made with miya?"
"you can have more than one shitpost go viral. well?" komori prompts.
suna pulls his t-shirt off for another. "it's nothing. looking forward to going home, that's all."
"i would too, if it weren't for the giant pile of bills that i ignored over the last month. what, is something special happening?"
"no."
"so elusive. come on, tell me!"
"if you look at the calendar," washio says, "i think you'll know."
"why do you also..." komori trails off as he does what he's told, breaking into a grin and giving suna another nudge. "you're so whipped, lover boy."
he shrugs him off, throwing his shorts into his gym bag and pulling on his jeans. with a last survey of his locker and bench, he zips his gym bag and swings it over his shoulder. "i'll see you guys next week."
"looking forward to the onigiri!" komori calls out after him. suna rolls his eyes, but he doesn't suppress his smile.
once a month for a week, osamu travels from hyogo to shizuoka to spend time with him, taking a break from the chaotic day-to-day restaurant work to experiment with new recipes, do administrative work, and generally unwind. although practice takes up most of suna's time, they relish in whatever domesticity they can afford, even if it's small moments like these once a month.
his apartment is half an hour away by train without any transfers, the building itself only a block away from the station. he texts osamu the entire time, who should be at home, unless he went out to buy groceries. another perk of his location is that it’s close to the supermarket, which makes grocery runs or preparing for board game night at his place convenient.
suna gets off at his stop and makes the short walk home. osamu still hasn't replied to him – is he that engrossed in whatever he's doing to not check his phone? oh, well, it'll be interesting to see what he's up to. suna enters his building, takes the elevator up, and unlocks the front door. "i'm back."
silence. not even the kitchen fan is whirring, which is a constant whenever osamu visits. with a raised eyebrow, he kicks his shoes off, treads down the hallway. "'samu?"
a pot simmers on the stove at low heat. the counters are filled with various bowls and pans, stained but otherwise empty. osamu is at the dining table, uncovered bowl of sushi rice left out, smaller dishes of fillings surrounding him. his head is lowered over the surface, cap pulled low. suna reaches over to lift it, realizes that he's asleep.
he has his phone out in an instant. he snaps a few pictures, smiling at his boyfriend's peaceful expression, the faintest snores rumbling at the back of his throat, his chest rising and falling in a languid rhythm. suna clears the rest of the table, moves a chair to sit beside him, and rests his head to face him.
it’s reminiscent of high school. osamu would nap after eating lunch, and suna would sit beside him, shake him awake when class resumes. once, though, he mirrored him, admired the way his eyes were curved, lips slightly parted, hair falling lightly over his eyes. he had brushed it away, noticed his natural dark hair color beneath the dyed gray, the messy bangs that sweep toward the right to distinguish him from his twin.
now, years later, his hair has returned to his natural color. there are darker shadows beneath his eyes, bangs still messy. suna reaches forward to brush them away. in the past, his touch never lingered; now, his fingers remain threaded through his hair, giving him a full view of his boyfriend’s face. affection floods him, and he leans forward to plant a kiss on his forehead. as he pulls away, osamu begins to stir, and a bleary eye opens at him. “rin?” he slurs.
“hey. didn’t mean to wake ya.”
osamu opens the other eye, slowly moving upright, wincing as he stretches his arms over his head. he looks around, blinks at the pot on the stove, the dishes left over the counters, then at him. “how long was i out for?”
“you were already asleep by the time i came home.”
“oh.” he blinks, realization sinking in a moment later. “oh.”
“you said that already.”
“welcome home.”
suna blinks, caught by surprise. he smiles. “thanks. happy to be home.”
they stand and survey the kitchen. “i was workin’ on a stew for dinner and new fillings for onigiri,” osamu says, gesturing at the dirty dishes, “but i guess i fell asleep while waitin’. hope it’s still salvageable.”
“you can save any food disaster.” suna takes his jacket off and heads for the sink. “i’ll clean, and you do whatever you were doing?”
“what did i do to bag a man who washes dishes?”
“you make me dinner.”
osamu chuckles. “ain’t that the fairest trade ya ever heard of?”
the stew is, fortunately, salvageable, and the dishes are washed and stacked on the dish rack. they sit across from each other, chatting about their days, then make onigiri to eat later. curled on the couch, they watch cooking videos for recipes that osamu wants to try to make. the night ends with a late snack, sleep descending on them in their shared bed, limbs tangled together, blanket thrown over their heads.
it’s a simple life, but it’s a life that suna is more than happy to have.

frontier fight first impressions #2: abiorugu
i wish this thing was good
this absolute snooze fest is the wall between you and hr2 and man it’s disappointing af.
from a design standpoint, it’s great. you can definitely tell this was one of the monsters that later inspired beloved mainline mons, in this case being glavenus.
if only the fight were interesting. now you may be thinking it would be using its tail as a weapon instead of just simply swinging it around. in fact, abiorugu also breathes fire! kind of. idk if it’s because it’s an urgent quest and some monsters don’t show off their full potential until later quests but this guy never breathed fire for me once despite the particle effect around its mouth.
what if i told you this is just deviljho at home.
that’s it. it’s deviljho, minus what makes deviljho cool. like the pickle or hate the pickle, on a fight standpoint, it’s unique, and there still hasn’t been a monster truly quite like it.
abiorugu is slow, bulky, and has weird tail hitboxes. even throws boulders. but that’s it. the quest gives you bait to use, but it didn’t go after or have interesting reactions with the meat.
it does take a bit from gravios’s moveset aka have a two second roar that leaves the hunter stunned for way too long giving it way too much room to attack.
part of the issue probably stems from when you get access to it. all large monsters in hr1—save for a certain crab i have yet to beat—are your basic dromes and beginner birds, so gear isn’t stellar, even if you upgrade everything as much as you can. most features aren’t unlockable until hr2 at the earliest. to throw in a sudden bulky wall in the same vein as deviljho is a bit too bullshit. i get that this is an mmo, however, that doesn’t excuse a really boring fight.
this again isn’t counting the crabbiest crab. another difficult early game monster available at hr1 with multiple phases, but not only is it optional, it’s been really enjoyable!!!! you get actively engaged and the gimmick is unique.
for reference i was using earth style great sword (so your basic gen 2 gs). i did land a lot of fully charged attacks and had multiple attack buffs. it took nearly 40 minutes to kill the dino.
this was the first monster i didn’t have fun with. genuinely a shame because the recipe for a take on glavenus before glavenus existed is there. hopefully in later ranks it’ll get better but man this was a disappointment.

theres the whole boat thing where u. didnt know boats were in the game. so u just didnt unlock any waverider waypoints. u were icebridging to all the islands in inazuma

Series Masterlist
Over the next few weeks, y/n was getting used to almost having a daily routine once she finished up unpacking and settling in. Sure there were changes she wanted to make in her home and furniture she wanted to buy, but she was starting to become content with her new life. Time in Austin was going really well for y/n. The family bakery was going great for them and was beginning to be the talk of the town. They had a great opening day, and y/n was surprised Joel and Sarah came along, since he is a workaholic. It was nice to see him a bit more relaxed, which y/n always teased. “Joel, stop being so tense and relax.” “I am relaxed.” “Uh huh. Those creases around your eyes say otherwise.” After her initial encounter with Joel, they were starting to build a really nice friendship. Both Joel and Sarah really made her feel welcomed in the neighborhood, and along with her family, they made the transition better. Joel was also appreciative of y/n for offering to help with Sarah after school or even on the evenings when he had to work late. However, it wasn’t easy at first when y/n offered to help. Joel being Joel declined at first stating it wasn’t her responsibility. Y/N didn’t mind especially when she and Sarah would end up having a great time being in each other’s company. Sarah was a gem. She was a very polite and smart girl and she could see why she was best friends with Emily. Sarah was also the reason Y/n was able to meet some of her other friendly neighbors on her block. The Adlers always greeted her with a smile and offered her company. They were fond of visitors and told her stories of their lives that reminded y/n of her times with her grandparents. Then there was your neighbor Denise who was very helpful and resourceful. She knew their neighborhood really well and always had a beautiful garden that y/n admired. Y/n and Denise started to trade flowers for fresh baked goods sometimes when y/n was trying out a new recipe and in return, Denise would get her a bouquet of fresh flowers for her kitchen. Things in her life were really starting to turn over for her.
Except for today. Waking up on the wrong side of the bed doesn’t even begin to describe the day y/n was having. Not only did she wake up late but she spilled her coffee on herself on her way to work. To add to her eventful morning, she got a flat tire two blocks before arriving at the bakery and without realizing she left her keys to the bakery at home. She called Kelly, who allowed her to take the day off to get herself situated. “I owe you big time. In fact I’m taking your shift tomorrow.” “Y/N that won’t be necessary “ “Please? It’s the least I can do.” Once y/n left the bakery she made her way home taking the bus. She wanted to change and ask Joel for a ride to the auto shop. As soon as she got to her front steps panic started to rise. She was digging through her bag trying to fish out her house keys and then proceeded to dump all of her belongings out on her front steps trying to find her keys. “This is really just the topping on the cake!” She expressed and realized to top off the events of her day she left her house keys at the bakery when she was helping Kelly. At this point she wanted to just crawl into her bed and not come out the rest of the week. After collecting herself, she decided to take a bit of extreme measures in her own hands. She began to walk around her house to check if at any chance she left a window open or unlocked not realizing she had a spectator watching from across the street in a pick up truck.
Tommy Miller pulled up to his brother’s house much later than he wanted, or at least he should have. He was starting to develop a migraine and the bright sun was not helping. He always tells himself that he won’t be drinking much the night before but that’s a lie he doesn’t want to admit to himself. He can already hear it in Joel’s voice and today he doesn’t want to deal with it. He takes a sip of his coffee trying to get as much sober making a face because it’s essentially not to his liking. He had no choice as he scrambled to make one this morning while also trying to run out of his place as he can to try to get to Joel’s on Time. He lets out a long sigh recalling the conversation he had with him earlier that morning. “Tommy, where the hell are you? We can’t be late on this one.” “Shit! I know I’m sorry I’m leaving now. I uh..I had a rough night.” “Tommy, I can't keep waiting on you. This is the last time I let this slide. Now I’m gonna go take Sarah to school then deliver the pieces. I’ll meet you at the house at 10 to pick up the tools. Don’t be late!” Before Tommy could respond Joel hung up. With a heavy sigh he made his way to his truck and sped down the road. He arrived at Joel’s a quarter after 9am and now he sat in his truck waiting for his brother to arrive. What he didn’t anticipate was for his morning to get any more eventful than his already bad morning. Across the street he spotted a young woman spilling out the contents of her bag all over Joel’s neighbor's house. He had never seen this woman and from the last time he remembered an older couple in their 80s lived there. He witnessed her walking to the front of the house and started peeking inside the windows before she started testing what he assumed was trying to see if the windows were open. He didn’t think too much of the situation since it looked like she was having no luck, that is until she climbed up the porch banister and started using her legs to push on the windows. “What in the hell?” He questioned as he got out of his truck and slowly made his way over. Now why does someone have the nerve to try and break into someone’s home this early in the day? He thought to himself. His thought was interrupted when he heard a soft “yes” come from her. It appeared as she succeeded too because she was able to open one of the windows and she had yet to notice him. He was standing a few feet away from the banister when he spoke loud for her to hear, “That’s called breaking and entering!” The woman in question let out a yelp as she was startled by him and she lost her footing. Without realizing, Tommy’s instincts kicked in and he bolted forward catching her before she could hit the ground. “You okay?” Tommy asked a bit apprehensive that he was asking about the well-being of a potential robber, a very pretty one he thought as he helped steady her. Y/n was a loss for words. she tried to comprehend what just happened and who was this stranger holding her. She craned her neck back to get a good glimpse at her ‘savior’ but no words came out. He had tan colored skin, almost cinnamon, dark curly hair, broad shoulders, and the most chocolate brown eyes she was getting lost in. When he spoke he had this rich, husky voice that if he weren’t holding her she would definitely hit the ground. “Ma’am? You okay?” “Ma’am? I’m not that old am I?” At that y/n wanted to really just faceplant to the ground. However that caused her ‘savior’ to chuckle and untangle himself from her, steadying her in the process. “No you don’t look old. Now if I may ask what are you trying to break in that house? You trying to rob an elderly couple?” He asked. “Rob? Do I look like I could really rob a house?” She couldn’t help but let out a laugh. “Well from where I was sitting it sure looked like it. I know the couple that lives there.” He ran a hand behind his head feeling a little sheepish. “No. It’s not like that. You’ve got it all wrong. I live here.I moved in a few weeks ago. I um. I just locked myself out of my house.”
“Sorry to assume. I’m Tommy.” He extended his hand to her to offer a shake. “Tommy Miller.” She extended her hand out to shake her hand and he could have sworn he heard a little gasp leave her and it felt electric. He even took a little more time in really looking at her. She had the prettiest smile that reached her y/c eyes. He could help but smile back. Her hair was up in a loose bun with a few strands falling in front of her face and he wanted to just wisp them away. He noticed a bit of flush on her cheeks and that only made him smile more. She cleared her throat and said, “Joel’s brother right?” She hoped her little hint of excitement went unnoticed. “You know my brother?” “Well we are neighbors. Speaking of, is he home?” “No, I am actually waiting for him.” They stood there in a bit of a silence before he spoke again. “So my name was brought up?” She giggled and nodded. “Really? Hopefully all good things sweetheart.” Y/n couldn’t help the flutter she felt in her stomach and he spoke again, “uhh so um why did you end up breaking into your house?” “I forgot my keys with my sister in law and I wanted to get out of my coffee stained clothes. I-I’ve been having a rough day. I wanted to ask Joel for a ride back into town…” “I can take you.” He wanted to smack his forehead at how forward he was being but there was something about her that was drawing him in.
Before she could speak their attention was drawn to Joel’s car pulling into his driveway. “Come on. It really isn't a problem if I’m offering. Besides, we are headed that way anyways.” Tommy walked ahead over to Joel who said nothing but started helping load his truck. “I thought you were working today?” Joel commented as he looked up and caught sight of y/n. “Let’s just say the universe had other plans. I got a flat and my car is at this auto shop.” She states as she hands him the business card. “I actually was coming over to ask for a ride there but I didn’t want to ask if you are working.” “Like I said it’s no trouble!” Tommy shouted from the garage, missing the glare Joel shot his way. Y/n, however, caught it but brushed it off. “We have to drop this off first and then Tommy can take you.” Y/n nods her head and hops in the back of the truck. On the way to town, y/n explains her day and how Tommy caught her breaking and entering her home, hoping at least she could crack a smile from Joel but he stayed quiet. The rest of the car ride is quiet until they arrive to Joel's destination first. Y/n could tell he had an irritated demeanor but didn’t want to press any further. Once the truck was unloaded she stepped out of the truck to move to the passenger seat where she also caught the last bit of their conversation. “Tommy seriously. You better come straight back here. Now I bought us some time but this is it. Once you drop her off, come straight back here. You hear?” Tommy nodded quickly and got back in the truck. It wasn’t a long drive and before she knew it he pulled up in front of the shop. “Oh hold on” Confused, y/n watched as he got out of his truck and jogged to her side only to open the door. She flashed him a smile as she got out. “Tommy, I can't thank you enough.” “Don’t mention it. Besides, if you ever need help with anything don’t hesitate to call,” he finished with handing her a piece of paper with his number written on it. “Thanks. I will keep that in mind.” She placed the piece of paper in her tiny pocket in her purse so that she wouldn’t lose it and made her way to the door of the shop. Just as she grabbed the handle he called out to her, “wait you uh pardon my manners um what was your name?” “I didn’t give it to you.” She said with a smirk as she walked inside. Tommy watched her disappear through the door and leaned against his truck for a moment. He had it and he was determined to figure her out. Maybe Joel could help him. “Oh shit Joel!” He got back in his truck and made his way back to his brother's.

much ado about the wondertart
aka: buckle up this is a longass post
So, the DLC’s ending wraps things up nicely, but one huge question remains: why exactly did Saltbaker try to seize the Wondertart for himself? The lyrics to “A Chef’s Coda” imply that he was temporarily blinded by the temptation of godlike power; the only hint we get for what he expected to do with that power is the defeat quote “Your futile efforts were in vain, this world will be my salt domain.” If Saltbaker didn’t have a full plan laid out, then what possessed him to set the events of the DLC in motion?
The characterization that we get of Saltbaker (across the game, comics, and the book "Cuphead in Carnival Chaos: A Cuphead Novel" by Ron Bates) portrays him as a major perfectionist and a genius in his field.
So with that in mind, here’s what I think happened leading up to the DLC:
It has to start with "how and why does this (relatively) ordinary man know magic?" It's notable even in a setting as wild and cartoonish as the Inkwell Isles. I like to think that some of it is innate ability, specifically the ability to open astral portals (and summon kitchen utensils through them) but anything past that (i.e. the mushroom that triggers his second phase) would be a result of study & practice. He has a whole lab setup in that basement, after all. And why would he start dabbling in magic in the first place? Well, I see him as something of a kitchen witch. His primary passion is baking, so a logical extension of his abilities might be healing magic or similar.
I could see him agreeing to help Chalice with honest intentions at first. Of course he can create a treat to bring her back to life, he's the absolute best at what he does! It'd be a cinch! So he throws himself into his work in typical Saltbaker perfectionist fashion. Modifying recipes he knows, trying ingredient after ingredient after ingredient in the hopes that some of them are worthy of the ultimate treat. Crafting new recipes wholesale. Poring over ancient tomes to find some clue, any clue, that can help him unlock this mystery.
He finds it, and wishes he didn't: only a living soul can complete the Wondertart, because necromancy always comes at a price. Desperate and unwilling to admit it to Chalice, he tries to substitute this terrible element with literally anything else. All of his attempts fall flatter than a collapsed souffle. All of this, on top of the business that he has to run daily. Our dear chef does not take failure well. He grows restless, frustrated, and more resentful of Chalice by the day. Why should this long-dead ghost demand such a prize from him? Of course, this is all in his own head. If he'd just told Chalice of his fruitless efforts, she would have understood entirely. But he can't, or thinks he can't, because he is the greatest chef in the land, and he likes to feel needed even by people he dislikes, and he has already put in immeasurable time & effort into creating that Wondertart, and HE WILL SEE IT TO COMPLETION COME HELL OR HIGH WATER.
So he puts on his best smile, and gives Chalice his sweetest reassurances, and begins the finishing touches for his magnum opus.

New TS4 Legacy Challenge
Unlike my base game legacy (found here), this legacy challenge goes through a whole bunch of packs. It is obviously pizza themed, and I had a lot of fun putting it together.
This challenge really requires you to start off as a teen, because your first step is getting accepted into one of the prestigious degree programs. You can cheat the skills needed to obtain this if you must, but it's more fun starting as a teen anyway. It's also meant to be played in order, as the generations are heavily influenced by the generation preceding it.
If you'd like a pdf version of this for tracking rules/requirements, you can find it here. Otherwise, check out the details below!
Generation 1: Margherita - The Traveler
You’ve always wanted to explore the world and learn everything you can about, well, everything. You attend university and get all the awards, and then spend your life traveling to exotic locales and soaking up as much as you can. Some say your wandering spirit is exhausting, but you wouldn’t live your life any other way.
Tasks:
Get accepted into a prestigious degree program
Graduate with honors
Unlock all hidden locations in Selvadorada
Go to Batuu
Go hiking in Mt. Komorebi & take pictures at the shrine
Max Selvadoradian Culture skill
Learn all the recipes from the San Myshuno food stalls
World: San Myshuno – start off in a cheap apartment, but you can upgrade when you make more money. Bonus points if you decorate with collectibles from your travels!
Career: Freelancer (your choice of specialty)
Aspiration: City Native & Archaeology Scholar
Children: 1 biological (parent is from Selvadorada – up to you if you marry them or not), and 1 adopted
Traits: Adventurous, Foodie, Genius
Skills: Archaeology, Photography, Selvadoradian Culture, Research & Debate
Generation 2: Pepperoni - Total Traditionalist
You lived your life bouncing around from place to place, and you’re ready for some stability. You’re grateful for the experiences you’ve had, but hate that you never really had lifelong friends or a hometown. Once you have kids, you’re constantly bickering with your parents about the best way to raise them – they believe that you need to show them the world, and you think the value of a steady lifestyle is just as important. You’re not really a fan of spontaneity, but sometimes old habits just die hard.
Tasks:
Have 3 children (doesn’t matter if biological or adopted)
Have a routine and stick to it (example: you always meet with your bowling club on Thursdays, go to the gym every Tuesday, and have dinner as a family at 6 pm every night)
Have a family tradition (tip – use the Seasons calendar for this)
Have an affair in adulthood
Have a low relationship with your parent(s) after the birth of your first child
Reach at least level 8 in parenting
Optional: go to university
World: Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, or Newcrest
Career: Business or Salaryperson
Aspiration: Big Happy Family
Children: 3
Traits: Gloomy, Neat, Snob
Skills: Parenting, Bowling, Piano
Generation 3: Hawaiian - Funky & a little fresh
Growing up, you were always closest to your grandparent. Your parents weren’t really interested in travel and exploration, but you’ve always been fascinated by your grandparent’s stories. In fact, you think those stories really need to be told, and you want to be the one to do it. Hearing them talk about their life inspires you to have a little adventure of your own.
Tasks:
Get to know all the locals & marry a townie.
Write books to supplement your income. Once you unlock the autobiography, write one about your grandparent.
Visit your grandparent at least once a week (or have them visit you).
Clean up Sulani and see the turtles hatch at least once
Attend all the Sulani festivals you can
Snorkel & befriend a dolphin
Lead at least one yoga class on the beach
World: Sulani
Career: Conservationist (as much as you love writing, you think having it as a job would kill your passion. That being said, you wouldn’t mind if one of your books got super famous and let you retire…).
Aspiration: Bestselling Author
Children: at least one child
Traits: Child of the Islands, Creative, Outgoing
Skills: Writing, Fishing, Wellness
Generation 4: Veggie Lover's - Going Green
You loved growing up in Sulani and always felt so connected to nature. You prefer plants to people most days, and love spending time in your extensive garden. You’ve always wanted to experience actual seasons, however, so you bid a bittersweet farewell to your hometown and move to a small cottage by the sea.
Tasks:
Have a large garden
Marry a townie
Go all out for the major holidays (Harvestfest, Spooky Day, Winterfest)
Take at least 2 vacations in Granite Falls
Grow a cowplant or a death flower
Optional: build a community garden in your world and name it after yourself or your family

Career: Floral Arrangement
Aspiration: Freelance Botanist
Children: at least 2 children
Traits: Loves the Outdoors, Bookworm, Socially Awkward
Skills: Gardening, Baking
Generation 5: Meat Lover's - All about the Protein
You’ve always been a very active sim, mostly because playing outside and running around was such a large part of your youth. You love your hometown, but when an opportunity arises to play professionally somewhere else, you can’t pass it up. You have fun and enjoy being such a big success, but as you get older you start missing home more and more. You decide to say goodbye to the high life and move back home to open a gym.
Tasks:
Have a best friend in childhood and throughout teen years. Drift apart when you move.
Reach at least fame level 3
Build a gym in your hometown when you move back
Have at least 1 dog
Have at least 1 child out of wedlock

World: Move to Del Sol Valley as YA and live there until adulthood. Then move back to Brindleton Bay.
Career: Professional Athlete
Aspiration: Bodybuilder
Children: At least 2 children
Traits: Active, Bro, Dog Lover
Skills: Fitness, Mixology, Pet Training
Generation 6: Supreme - Jack of all Trades, Master of None
Inspired by stories of your ancestors, you decide you want to experience all life has to offer. But instead of feeling like an inspirational globe-trotter, you feel more like a lost soul. Nothing you try really ever agrees with you, and you’ve never been fully able to decide what you want to do with your life. Settling down terrifies you, because you always feel like you’ll miss out on the next best thing. You finally find your niche in adulthood, but the road was definitely not easy.
Tasks:
Try out 3 wildly different styles in high school (example: nerdy phase, preppy phase, skater phase)
Have an after-school job in high school
Travel to Selvadorada but don’t buy any preparation gear (you’re always woefully unprepared). End up cutting the vacation short and going back home.
Have 2 failed serious relationships before marriage
Don’t marry until adulthood
Have enough satisfaction points to buy the re-traiting potion in adulthood
World: You start off in 1 of the 3 worlds that you didn’t pick for Generation 2, but end up moving to StrangerVille after hearing some interesting stories.
Career: you can pick the first 2, but you end up in the military career.
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim, then StrangerVille Mystery
Children: at least 1 child
Traits: Noncommittal, Squeamish, Lazy. Take re-traiting potion in adulthood and remove noncommittal and lazy. You can replace them with whatever you want. Leave squeamish (you’ve finally accepted that a life of jungle-trekking is not for you).
Skills: Fitness, Logic
Generation 7: Buffalo Chicken - A Slightly Spicy Life
Watching your parent take so long to figure out their life made you certain that you would never make the same mistakes. You’ve always known what you wanted, and will do whatever it takes to get there. Life has a funny way of throwing surprises at you, though, and sometimes it ends up being for the best.
Tasks:
Be involved in an after-school activity or club related to your future career
Go to university in a degree related to the field that you want to work in
While in university, either you or your SO gets pregnant
Drop out of university when you realize you can’t manage parenthood on top of your full schedule
Work part-time until your baby becomes a child, then go back to school
Graduate with honors and join the career you’ve always wanted
After a few promotions, you realize that you hate it and miss being a parent and a spouse. Quit your job and spend the rest of your time making money by skill (you can choose, but it must be a money-making skill, not an actual job)
When your kid becomes a teen, surprise them with a vacation to Mt. Komorebi
Stay with the parent of your child(ren) for your whole life (they’re your soulmate, even if they did completely derail your career plans)
World: Choose from – 1 of the 3 you didn’t choose in Gen. 2 or 5, Britechester, Copperdale, Tartosa, Henford-on-Bagley, Windenburg
Career: Your choice, but must strive for this starting at childhood (i.e. actor takes drama classes, scientist takes STEM or chess)
Aspiration: Academic (DO NOT FINISH, put on hold when you drop out) > Soulmate > Academic
Children: At least 1 child
Traits: Ambitious, Overachiever, Family-Oriented
Skills: Charisma, Research & Debate
Generation 8: BBQ Chicken Bacon - A Little Experimental
You’ve always appreciated how your parents sacrificed so much to give you a good upbringing, even putting their own dreams on hold so that you could have a happy childhood. They’ve given you freedom to explore your own dreams, and once you find some success you want to pay them back somehow. A trip to Mt. Komorebi on your teen birthday made you fall in love with the town and the food scene, and you decide to move there as a young adult.
Tasks:
Gain at least 1 level of fame
Spend at least $20,000 of your own money to renovate your parents house or move them to a nicer house (you can use money cheats to decrease your funds)
Get to at least level 8 of skiing, snowboarding, or rock-climbing
Finish an expedition to the top of the mountain
Woohoo in the cave on the mountain
Optional: open a restaurant
World: Mt. Komorebi
Career: Chef
Aspiration: Mt. Komorebi Sightseer
Children: At least 2 children
Traits: Good, Art Lover (if your parent was a painter, have some of their works hanging in your house. Otherwise, have some of your own), Self-Assured
Skills: Skiing, Snowboarding or Rock-climbing; Cooking; Painting (if your parent was not a painter)
Generation 9: Cheese - No Room for Mistakes
Growing up with a semi-famous parent taught you the value of networking and people skills. In the real world, it’s not what you know, but who you know, and you mean to take every advantage of the connections you already have. Using those connections as leverage, you want to become an influential politician and devote your life to bettering your community. You’re not very humble, and you can be tad materialistic, but your real friends know that you have everyone’s best interests at heart… deep down, at least.
Tasks:
Live in a suburban house with a white picket fence
Steal from your own campaign fund at least once
Graduate from university
Have a party at least once a week
Have a dog (bonus points if it’s a golden retriever)
Your spouse has an affair and you find out. Stay with them to avoid the scandal.
Do not have a close relationship with your children.
World: Any world not used in Gen. 6
Career: Politician
Aspiration: Party Animal
Children: 2 biological children (any more must be adopted. Obviously you’ll broadcast the adoption for good PR)
Traits: Materialistic, Self-Absorbed, Insider
Generation 10: Calzone - Different, but still Great
The black sheep. You’ve always been expected to be great, and do great things, but that’s never really interested you. Your parents’ constant need to keep up with the Jones’es was exhausting, and you hate the façade. You get into some trouble as a kid, but ultimately turn it around and mend fences.
Tasks:
Have a major goth or emo phase in high school
Reach at least level 7 in handiness & mischief
In adulthood, successfully make your neighborhood green
Cheat on your high school SO and your young adult SO. Either you or your SO gets pregnant as a young adult, but you abandon the child.
Make amends with your child in adulthood (your ex isn’t so forgiving, but maybe in elder-hood you can be friends)
If you marry, marry in adulthood. It cannot be one of your exes.
Have a negative relationship with your parents as a teen and throughout your YA years. Up to you if you want to mend the relationship in adulthood.
Turn at least one of your enemies into your best friend in adulthood.
World: Evergreen Harbor
Career: Criminal as YA, then Civil Design in adulthood
Children: at least 1 child
Traits: Mean, Vegetarian, Maker
Skills: Handiness, Mischief, Charisma

we actually finished a lot of post-hw content yesterday, lemme try to summarize (things might be not in order because i am just going off memory)-
- KRILE IS SUPER CUTE (also idk why her name was localized as krile while in japanese they call her kururu (i am not gonna google this tho, dont want spoilers) the jp name makes sense lore-wise because i think that’s how lalafell naming convention works)
- i deeply enjoy the alphinaud teasing. it’s very funny.
- THANCRED!!! ngl i love his new look though tbf i also thought he had aged.
- I ACTUALLY GASPED OUT LOUD WHEN WE SEE THE WARRIOR(S?) OF DARKNESS
- my friend and i were in vc and we kept going omg omg it’s themmmmm, it’s us!!!!
- oh also one of the summoner quests was called “i could have tranced all night”, i kept reading it as “i could have THANCRED all night” and was like yeah sure :3c
- AYMERIC WHY DID YOU WALK AROUND WITHOUT A GUARD!! i knew he wouldn’t die, but for a moment i did get really worried if they were gonna off him :<
- I am glad tho that daddy fortemps or artoirel didnt get in the way and die u_u
- EVERYTIME I LISTEN TO THE ISHGARD THEME AT NIGHT OR THE DRAGONSONG MUSIC I GROW INCREDIBLY SAD (idk how will i get over both of them)
- WE GET A HAURCHIE MINION!!! and the knight of house fortemps title (with a shield that totally didnt make me emotional)!
- i like that the moment i summoned the minion, my friend and i simultaneously /pet it, like we didnt plan for it. we just did immediately. we just love him so much ;;A;;
- ALSO WHOA THE WHOLE SCENE WITH VIDOLFNIR SAVING THE GIRL WAS AWESOME
- I have to say tho the interaction was sweeter in japanese because the girl calls her shiroi dragon-san and when she thanks the dragon, vidolfnir tells her that her lifespan is short so she should treasure her life (or something to that extent) while in english she simply says youre welcome
- ALSO OMG AYMERIC INVITES YOU FOR A DRINK. idk how he sounds in english but i def felt like he was a bit flustered in japanese.
- man will we ever learn to not be suspicious of things, especially when we were told tensions are running high just before the peace meet at falcon’s nest?
- every time a random unnamed npc has a voiced scene, it feels like shit is about to go down (and it did).
- EMMANELLAIN NO!!! tbh i feel really bad for him. he’s never really been given responsibilities or reprimanded for crossing lines, he’s been coddled and ofc you cannot expect him to make good judgements under pressure. i felt like whatever happened next was pretty good. felt real. poor honoroit tho.
- MAYBE I READ IT WRONG BUT THANCRED IMPLIES THAT AYMERIC IS IN LOVE WITH YOU??? i need to go back and se this (unvoiced) line again.
- i am finally weaver level 47 (i think), i have unlocked some cool recipes but they probably require some crazy-ass ingredients smh.
well, that’s all i remember from yesterday. my sister is playing through hw now, so i ask her to guide me where haurchefant is standing in her game and i emote /hug and /blowkiss at him (or rather his ghost, since he isnt there for me), things i didnt do enough when he was around (which i deeply regret).
i am looking to join a fc but idk how to pick one since my timezone is quite different from usa lol.
#wow this was a long-ass post#i wish i made posts like this as i played hw though#oh well#ALSO HEY URIANGER IS DOING SOME SHADY-ASS STUFF#and i got a glimpse of alisaie's shoe#i know because i detest the twins' ARR shoes#thank halone for tataru's fashion sense

🎧 - You can telepathically communicate with your soulmate without ever having to meet. [ you have no idea how long i debated whether i should or not because ardyn. enjoy the mess. ]
Soulmate AU || @inimiicus
When Nyx first unlocked the ability to communicate with his soulmate telepathically, he was understandably excited. He was careful at first, unsure, sending messages in hopes of a response. When he didn't get any, he was worried that he was doing something wrong, but decided to continue nonetheless.
In hindsight, he supposes that might've been very annoying and that his soulmate was frustrated enough to finally send a message back. Nyx didn't care at the time, too excited to know more. He slowly learned tidbits about his soulmate, but never enough to figure out who they were. They didn't want to tell him their name, though he had told them his own without hesitation. It didn't matter – he would take what he could get.
Time passed. He chatted with his soulmate often, even if a lot of the conversations were one sided. He liked whenever his soulmate responded, quietly admitted to himself that his voice was lovely. He told his soulmate of his adventures – his hunts and achievements. That once they met, he wanted to introduce them to his family.
Then Niflheim attacked and he fell quiet, part of him numb with the loss of his sister. He told his soulmate he was moving to Insomnia, which got him a response he couldn't decipher, but he left it alone. He eventually started talking more again, comforted by the fact that there was someone out there, supposed just for him.
He really should've known that the fates liked playing games.
He had been on guard duty when the Chancellor of Niflheim came with news of the peace treaty and because he had found it boring, he had decided to send a running commentary of what was happening to his soulmate. The King looks like he just smelled something foul. No, seriously – it reminds me of the time Yamachang had come up with a new recipe and Libertus and I decided to have a taste. Let's just say that our bodies did not agree to whatever the guy had put in the food. Crowe compared to us to skunks and didn't want to be around us for weeks.
It was when the Chancellor had snorted lightly and had to hide a chuckle that Nyx got suspicious. Even more so when he met the guy's gaze and he mentally commented on the guy's attire and he saw his lips twitch.
Holy fuck, it's you, isn't it? You're my soulmate! Is that why you didn't want to tell me your name, because you're the Chancellor of fucking Niflheim?!
#inimiicus#;ask#|| this ask might've gotten away from me a little owo#i decided to follow canon for this :3c#verse; i will be the melody | the rhythm | and your rhyme (soulmate au)

And now several more things, most of which have been very brief as I just try stuff out to see what's worth sticking with and what my brain is amenable to at the moment.
I finally got around to trying Downwell. It seems fine? Like I don't have anything against it, but it's not doing enough for me that I'll probably play any more than the dozen minutes or so I have so far.
this morning I decided to die was alright. It only took like half an hour to go through the whole thing (one route that goes to the bad ending and then the good one). Definitely not one to pick up if you're not in a place where you can deal with stuff about serious mental health issues like psychosis and suicide. Also abuse. I get what it was going for, but I don't think it entirely worked for me and probably won't leave too much of a lasting impression. I'm glad the person who wrote it got to say something about it based on their own personal experiences though (from what I've heard about it anyway).
A less brief one is FF7R, which I think I'm about halfway through the story of and have mixed feelings on. I like that the writing and way the story is told is much better than in the original and makes a lot more sense, even if so far I'm still only moderately intrigued by the story and don't love it yet. What I do love though is how much better the characters are handled. In just the first few hours of the game I already knew more about and cared more about people like Jessie and Biggs and Wedge than I did some of the main party members in the original, and these are people who barely even got names the first time around. Music's great too. I'm indifferent to the graphics though, like it's technically impressive but not really my vibe a lot of the time, and I kind of wish it were actually less detailed so it would be easier to see stuff. And then the gameplay is meh. On the plus side it's better than the previous attempt at making FF an action game, FF15, which to me just felt downright bad, but they've only made it up to mediocre with this one. Maybe I'm biased coming off having played stuff like Astral Chain recently, but I just expect it to feel better than it does when they spend that many years and that much money on it, and it really doesn't. Please make the animations "worse" so they can feel more responsive.
On the other hand I have almost no complaints about Wylde Flowers a few hours into it. It's very much on track to be my second favorite farming game after Harvestella, and potentially the only more traditional farming/life sim I actually manage to stick with and finish if it keeps this up. My first impression was that it's the most basic bitch game I've played in a long time (which I don't mean in a bad way, just that's the vibe I was getting) and I wouldn't be surprised if one of the recipes I learned was pumpkin spice latte. As stuff started opening up it really won me over though. It's even lower pressure than stuff like SDV because you can slow down the clock and seasons don't advance until you choose for them to, which I appreciate. The characters are mostly likable and interesting too, and it's aggressively inclusive, which at first I was worried was it just trying to check off all the boxes for their own sake, but everyone has much more substance to them than just being representation. Definitely looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.
I'm glad I grabbed Zenzizenzic before it gets permanently delisted in like a week when Adult Swim Games stops existing. I'm not going to do or unlock everything in it because I'm just not good enough at bullet hell games, but for a couple bucks it's pretty fun, and the music is excellent.
And then I was looking at what other stuff people who worked on Harvestella have been involved with. I had no idea one of those things was Ender Lilies. A couple people I know had played it before and liked it, but I was kind of wary because of the soulslike elements, which usually aren't my jam. I gave it a chance because of the Harvestella connection though, and it might be the first thing I've ever played with very direct and obvious influences from Dark Souls that I actually mostly enjoy playing. The way it feels to play reminds me a lot of Dead Cells, except with the things that didn't work for me in that tweaked just enough that I'm either ok with them or they're enough less annoying that I don't mind. I think a large part of it is just animations generally being quicker, but overall the timings on things just fit my preferences better. I like it enough up through the first git gud boss that I can see myself finishing it, which would be a first for anything even vaguely soulslike.
And then those same people also apparently made a bullet heaven game when I wasn't looking, and some of the design decisions are informed by the bullet hell games they've been porting to the Switch over the past few years. It's 9th Sentinel Sisters, and it's actually pretty good too. Still in early access so I probably won't get too invested and burn through it all at once until there's more of it, but it feels promising so far.
Hardcore Cottagecore was a random extremely cheap impulse buy because the idea amused me. It's another bullet heaven game, except this time you're a mushroom fighting off Amazon's robots trying to build a warehouse in your forest. It's kinda cute. It only took an hour to finish the entire thing though, and it's very easy and/or unbalanced. Very student project/game jam game vibes, or the kind of thing you find clicking randomly on things on itch.io. It doesn't quite all come together in the end, but there's some potential there.
And finally Star Ocean: The Divine Force, which I fit in a couple hours of too to see if it's any good. I suspect that overall it's probably a bit of a mess, just like the earlier games, but one thing I can definitely say about it so far is that it knows how to let you have fun. Mechanically it feels like an actually successful version of what FF15 tried to do but didn't really succeed at. Like what if the warp ability from that had way fewer restrictions and didn't need a target and could be aimed in any arbitrary direction (including up) and basically let you fly? And everything just generally feels much tighter in general. I'm curious whether it'll hold up for an entire game, but at least so far I'm enjoying gotta go fasting.
#downwell#this morning I decided to die#final fantasy vii remake#wylde flowers#zenzizenzic#ender lilies: quietus of the knights#9th sentinel sisters#hardcore cottagecore#star ocean: the divine force

Playing BG3 has unlocked something that I have forgotten, though looking back at my DAI experiences it is a thing I am familiar with as my game style… and it’s the like…
RPG confidence of “characters with insecurities and submissive personalities” that draw from me what is not necessarily my nature, but as a response to like… especially Gale and Astarion who I admit are kind of my favourite for romantic angles in a way so far, they have like… a way about them that just makes me want to be in charge.
These mother fuckers got so much sub or brat energy that within me a dom is conjured just to be like… contrary and forceful and like. “No, you’re not dying. We are taking care of that problem. I do care about your wellbeing. Shut up. Stop being megalomaniacal. Stop being a bitch. Don’t explode yourself for your ex-girlfriend. I will help you kill your ex… master. Chill the fuck I get it but also like don’t bite my nose off about it. Fuck. I’m on top of it right now. Maybe if you told me more things about the problem I could come up with more solutions.”
Admittedly this is more like “team dad” than “team dom” but “daddy doms” are a thing so we’re cruising right by that thought process. I don’t need to unpack any daddy issues today. Even if Dungeon Meshi is making me daydream about cooking for the party. I swear they could release a DLC that’s just “dungeon cooking” as an addition to collecting food for camping, making recipes and meals as a bonus for a nice evening? I would be so fucking happy. This isn’t feederism it’s just like… that caretaking impulse. Idk. One’s a fetish and one’s like… “I want to provide food and shelter to people” which I think is a different niche. Not all things that satisfy a social need are kinks etc, etc.
I need to stop trying to form coherent thoughts when I’m this tired…
#seph plays bg3#my life#I have an early morning appointment so my brain won’t let me sleep#but it’s not so early that I can just go to it#so I’m in a limbo of like… I should try to sleep but at this point I think it would make things worse#but I already know I’m gonna get to the appointment and they’re gonna think I’m disengaged and listless

The Impact of Nutrition on Productivity: Fueling Your Time
Introduction Hey there! Ever had those days when you're cruising through your to-do list, and suddenly, out of nowhere, it feels like your energy has hit rock bottom? Yeah, we've all been there! Picture this: it's smack in the middle of the day, and you're eyeing your assignments like they're a puzzle only Einstein could solve. Frustrating, right? Well, my friend, what if I told you there's a connection between what's on your plate and how you tackle your tasks? Like, your food playing a crucial role in your superhero-level productivity – sounds cool, doesn't it? So, we're diving into this fascinating world where what you eat meets how much you get done. It's like unlocking the secret level to a more energized and productive you. Forget the classroom vibes; this is your guide to navigating the terrain of food, energy, and getting stuff done. Let's roll! Understanding the Diet-Energy Link Alright, let's dive into the nitty-gritty of how what you eat can be the key to unlocking a powerhouse of energy. Think of it like fueling up your car – you want the good stuff to keep it running smoothly. So, when we talk about nutrition, there are these cool components called macronutrients and micronutrients. Macros are like the big players – think carbs, proteins, and fats. They're your energy-packed pals. Carbs are the quick energy bursts, proteins are the muscle builders, and fats are the long-lasting, steady buddies. On the other hand, micros are like the tiny superheroes – vitamins and minerals. They might be needed in smaller amounts, but trust me, they play a huge role in keeping your energy game strong. Imagine your body as this fantastic energy production factory, and these nutrients are the workers making it all happen. The right mix of macros and micros ensures a smooth operation, giving you the energy you need to conquer your day. It's like creating the perfect recipe for a superhero smoothie – only instead of capes, you get a burst of vitality. Cool, right? The Role of Diet in Time Management Now, let's talk about how your daily grub impacts your time management skills. Picture this: your body is like a high-performance engine, and the fuel you choose can either make it purr or sputter. A well-balanced diet isn't just about keeping your taste buds happy; it's your secret weapon for owning your time. Think about it – when you feed your body the right mix of nutrients, it's like giving it a power boost. You're not just preventing those midday crashes; you're setting the stage for sustained energy throughout the day. It's like having your own energy reservoir, ready to fuel your tasks without the rollercoaster of energy spikes and crashes. And hey, who wouldn't want that? Effective time management isn't just about having a killer to-do list; it's about having the energy and focus to tackle it head-on. So, consider your meals as your time-management allies, ensuring you're not just surviving the day but rocking it like a time-management rockstar. It's the kind of win-win situation we all love – good for your taste buds, great for your productivity! The Energy Rollercoaster: Effects of Poor Nutrition Now, let's take a detour into the land of consequences – the not-so-pleasant side effects of poor dietary choices. Buckle up because we're about to explore the energy rollercoaster, and trust me, it's a ride you'd rather skip. Imagine this: you start your day with a sugary pastry and a cup of coffee. Instant energy, right? Well, hold on because that sugar rush is short-lived. Before you know it, you're plummeting down, feeling more drained than before. It's like sprinting in a marathon – you might start strong, but you'll hit a wall sooner or later. Now, let's throw in some greasy, processed snacks for lunch. The result? A mid-afternoon slump that makes your tasks feel like climbing a mountain. Your brain's foggy, your focus is MIA, and that to-do list might as well be in another language. Oh, and don't even get me started on the evening crash after a heavy, carb-loaded dinner. Ever tried to conquer your tasks with the enthusiasm of a sloth? Yeah, not the ideal scenario. So, here's the deal – poor nutrition isn't just about gaining or losing weight; it's about the impact on your day-to-day productivity. It's like trying to run a marathon with lead shoes – sure, you'll move, but it won't be pretty. So, let's swap the lead shoes for some sleek runners, shall we? Your tasks will thank you for it! Navigating the Diet Landscape for Productivity Now, let's navigate the vast landscape of diets, each claiming to be the magic potion for productivity. From keto to paleo, it's like a buffet of options, each promising to unlock the door to boundless energy. Keto, with its low-carb, high-fat approach, might be your go-to if you're aiming for steady energy without the sugar crashes. Paleo, on the other hand, channels your inner caveman, focusing on whole foods that our ancestors hunted and gathered. But here's the catch – what works for your gym buddy might not be your cup of herbal tea. The key? Finding a diet that suits you like a tailored suit, considering your lifestyle, preferences, and energy needs. It's not about following the latest diet trend; it's about creating a sustainable, long-term relationship with food. Picture it like finding the perfect dance partner – someone who moves in sync with your rhythm. So, whether you're doing a dietary tango or a nutritional salsa, the goal is the same: to fuel your body for the marathon of tasks ahead. Because in the grand feast of diets, the one that fits you is the true winner. Fueling Your Brain: Nutrients for Cognitive Function Now, let's peek into the powerhouse of your body – the brain. It's not just about feeding your stomach; it's about fueling the command center for your tasks. Think of it as upgrading from regular to premium gas for your brain. First up, omega-3 fatty acids – the brain's best friend. Found in fatty fish like salmon and walnuts, these little warriors support cognitive function, helping you stay sharp and focused. It's like giving your brain a daily dose of superhero serum. Next on the nutrient hit list: antioxidants, the defenders against oxidative stress. Berries, dark chocolate, and green tea are your go-to sources. They're like the shield protecting your brain cells from the wear and tear of everyday tasks. Vitamins B and D are the dynamic duo for cognitive health. B vitamins, found in whole grains and leafy greens, act as the sidekicks boosting energy production. Meanwhile, vitamin D, soaking up the sun or in fatty fish, supports overall brain function, ensuring your mental gears are well-oiled. And let's not forget magnesium, the unsung hero in nuts, seeds, and leafy greens. It's the calm within the storm, promoting relaxation and improved sleep – essential for a well-rested brain ready to conquer the next day. So, when you're crafting your daily menu, think beyond calories. Consider it a mission – feeding your brain the nutrients it needs to lead your tasks to victory. Because in the epic battle of productivity, your brain deserves nothing but the best allies. Building a Balanced Plate Now, let's dive into the art of building a plate that's not just a feast for the eyes but a powerhouse for your productivity. Imagine your plate as a canvas, and each food group as a color – the goal is a masterpiece that fuels your day. Start with the main act: protein. Picture it as the lead actor, bringing strength and endurance to your performance. Whether it's chicken, tofu, or lentils, make sure it takes center stage. Next, add a splash of vibrant veggies – your supporting cast. Think of them as the sidekicks, providing essential vitamins and minerals. The more colors, the better – it's like assembling a team with diverse skills. Now, let's talk about carbs – the energy boosters. Whether it's brown rice, quinoa, or sweet potatoes, they're your backstage crew, ensuring sustained energy throughout your tasks. Just like a well-coordinated team, they keep things running smoothly. Fats take the role of the director, overseeing the whole production. Avocado, olive oil, and nuts – they add flavor and richness to your plate, making every bite a delightful experience. And, of course, hydration – the unsung hero working behind the scenes. Imagine it as the backstage crew, keeping everything well-lubricated. Water, herbal teas, or infused beverages – the choices are endless, but the goal is the same: to keep the show going. So, when you're orchestrating your meals, think of it as composing a symphony. Each element plays a crucial part, contributing to the masterpiece of a well-balanced plate that powers your productivity. Because in the world of nutrition, you're not just eating; you're creating a masterpiece for your body.
Snacking Smartly for Sustained Energy Now, let's explore the world of snacks – those mini-boosters that keep your energy levels steady throughout the day. Snacking isn't just about appeasing hunger; it's about giving your body the fuel it needs to shine in every task. Think of snacks as your trusty sidekicks, swooping in when energy levels dip. But, beware of the sugary villains and opt for nutrient-packed allies. Nuts and seeds are like the superheroes of snacks. Packed with protein and healthy fats, they're your go-to allies for a quick energy lift. Keep a stash at your desk, and you'll always have a power-packed rescue team on standby. Fruits are the refreshing allies, bursting with natural sugars and vitamins. Whether it's a banana, apple slices, or berries, they're the swift reinforcements when you need a sweet, nutritious pick-me-up. Greek yogurt with a sprinkle of granola is the dynamic duo. The protein-packed yogurt teams up with the energy-rich granola to create a snack that's both satisfying and supportive. Vegetable sticks with hummus are like the stealthy ninjas – low in calories but high in nutrients. They'll keep you fueled without weighing you down, ready to conquer any task that comes your way. And let's not forget the hydration heroes – water, herbal teas, or infused water. Staying hydrated is like having an energizing elixir always at your disposal. So, when the snack attack strikes, choose your allies wisely. Snacking smartly isn't just about filling a gap; it's about boosting your energy levels strategically, ensuring you're always ready for the next scene in your productivity saga. Hydration: The Unsung Hero Now, let's talk about the unsung hero in your quest for productivity – hydration. Picture water as your trusty sidekick, always ready to swoop in and save the day. Staying adequately hydrated is the secret weapon to keep your mind sharp and your energy levels soaring. Think of water as the fuel that powers your productivity engine. It's not just about quenching your thirst; it's about ensuring every cell in your body functions at its peak. Dehydration can sneak up on you, leading to fatigue, lack of focus, and a dip in overall performance. Here are some practical tips to keep your hydration levels in check: - Sip Throughout the Day: Instead of chugging large amounts at once, make a habit of sipping water throughout the day. It keeps you consistently hydrated without overwhelming your system. - Infuse for Flavor: If plain water doesn't excite you, infuse it with slices of fruits, cucumber, or mint. It adds a refreshing twist and might encourage you to drink more. - Set Hydration Goals: Aim to drink a certain amount of water by specific times during the day. It turns hydration into a manageable goal, much like achieving tasks on your to-do list. - Keep a Water Buddy: Whether it's a reusable water bottle or a dedicated app, having a water buddy can be a fun way to track your intake. Consider it your personal hydration sidekick. Remember, just like a superhero needs constant refueling, your body craves a steady supply of water for peak performance. So, grab that water bottle and let hydration be the unsung hero in your journey toward unstoppable productivity. Meal Timing and Its Impact on Energy Levels Now, let's dive into the intriguing world of meal timing – a key player in the symphony of energy management. Imagine your meals as carefully orchestrated notes, each contributing to the harmonious melody of sustained productivity. Meal Timing Matters: The timing of your meals isn't just a logistical consideration; it's a strategic move to ensure a steady supply of energy throughout the day. Think of it as a well-choreographed dance where the right moves at the right times make all the difference. Intermittent Fasting Unveiled: Enter intermittent fasting, a trend that's gained superhero status in the nutrition world. It's like giving your digestive system a well-deserved break, allowing your body to focus on other essential tasks, including mental clarity and improved energy utilization. Imagine this approach as a superhero training regimen for your metabolism. By having defined eating windows, intermittent fasting aims to optimize your body's performance during both feast and fast periods. Meal Timing Tips for Productivity: - Breakfast Boost: Start your day with a nutrient-rich breakfast to kickstart your metabolism. Picture it as the power-up scene in your favorite superhero movie. - Energizing Snack Pitstops: Incorporate strategic snack breaks between meals to maintain a consistent level of energy. It's like refueling your superhero powers throughout the day. - Mindful Dinner Finale: Wrap up your meals a few hours before bedtime, allowing your body to focus on rejuvenation during the night. Think of it as your superhero winding down for a well-deserved rest. By understanding the rhythm of your meals, you can fine-tune your energy levels and enhance your productivity performance. So, let the symphony of meal timing be the background music to your daily superhero exploits. Incorporating Superfoods for Maximum Impact Now, let's explore the world of superfoods – the unsung heroes that can elevate your energy levels to superhero status. Imagine these foods as the capes and masks of your nutritional choices, ready to empower you for the daily battles. Superfood Power-Up: Picture nutrient-dense superfoods as the ultimate power-up in your quest for sustained energy and productivity. These foods aren't just culinary delights; they're nutritional powerhouses, each with its unique set of abilities to fuel your day. Incorporating Superfoods into Your Daily Routine: - Avocado Avenger: Avocado, the creamy crusader, is rich in healthy fats that provide a slow and steady release of energy. Smash it on toast or blend it into a superhero smoothie for breakfast. - Quinoa Quest: Quinoa, the versatile warrior, is packed with protein and complex carbohydrates. Make it the base of your lunch bowl or incorporate it into energy-boosting snacks. - Berry Blitz: Berries, the antioxidant defenders, are bursting with vitamins and antioxidants. Sprinkle them on your superhero cereal or blend them into a vibrant smoothie for a tasty energy boost. - Spinach Supercharge: Spinach, the leafy green guardian, is a powerhouse of iron and nutrients. Toss it into your lunch salads or blend it into a green superhero smoothie. By incorporating these superfoods into your daily meals, you're not just eating – you're crafting a menu for superhero-level productivity. So, grab your culinary cape, and let the superfood adventure begin!

Try Before You Buy - Tiny Thor
Hello and welcome to try before you buy, where I find a game coming out and give it a test to let you know whether I feel it’s worth testing. These may be available demos or just indie games that got money to expand into full fledged games with more content. In any case, I will also provide links to where you can download these and try them on your own as our opinions may differ. Today I’m taking a look at a game that caught my attention from a press release, months after it was announced for the Nintendo Switch and Steam. I’m a big fan of nostalgia and when I saw Tiny Thor, it immediately brought me back to playing my Super Nintendo Entertainment System. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MfeFK7DPUI Tiny Thor is set for a Q2 release this year and is scheduled to come out on the Nintendo Switch and on Steam. Asylum Square Interactive gmbH developed the game and Gameforge 4d GmbH published it. In Their Own Words Asylum Square is an independent games developer, based in the Black Forest in Germany. We grew up with game systems like the Sega Master System, SNES or the Commodore Amiga and C64. In 2014 Jochen founded Asylum Square to create games he would have loved to play back then and there on the living room carpet. To achieve this we work together with a bunch of very talented people and industry veterans. Some of them even were part of those original, inspiring experiences and have joined us on our current endeavors. Tiny Thor features 16-bit graphics and gameplay centered around using Mjölnir, leading our Norse hero through challenging levels filled with all kinds of obstacles. It offers tight controls, fast-paced action and an experience tinged with nostalgia. Tiny Thor will feel familiar to retro fans, but also unique in its own ways. It features true 16-bit pixel art from Henk Nieborg and an original soundtrack by Chris Hülsbeck. Starting as a relatively simple platformer, Tiny Thor unfolds along the way, as you unlock all kinds of abilities that you dreamed of having back in the day. The platforming is punctuated with exhilarating boss battles which will test the son of Odin. Each realm features a set of almighty adversaries who want to stop Thor on his way to becoming a true god. You will need to make use of everything you learned along the way to beat them! Features - Master ricocheting hammer throws to overwhelm enemies - Learn awesome special abilities - Explore over 30 handcrafted levels across three distinct realms - Challenging boss fights, each with unique mechanics - Rattle your brain to solve tricky environmental puzzles - Discover tons of secrets and collect hidden gems to unlock challenge levels - Enjoy the story of a boy taking responsibility My Experience and Thoughts As I mentioned above, I am a huge fan of nostalgia. When they said that this was a love letter to the 16-bit era, they weren’t kidding. If you were to sit this game down in front of me when I was 9 and have me play it, I wouldn’t bat an eye, because it looks like it belongs on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. This game did also catch my eye, because with the rise of Marvel movies, when you say the name Thor Chris Hemsworth comes to mind. So, a side scrolling game with a sprinkle of nostalgia topped with a Norse god that came to comics and then to movies is a recipe of a game that I have to play. You start the game (demo) being told that it’s your birthday and that you have to get home to get the present from your father Odin. This level is really just a tutorial with some story and it’s meant for you to learn how to control Thor. I played this on Steam via the demo and used my Xbox Series X controller and it worked just fine. The game recognizes the controller and the dialogue boxes and button prompts change from keyboard to controller to aid you. You quickly learn that this is a platformer as they are blue gems scattered throughout that are there to be collectables as well as a guide to the correct way you should be going. If you ever get lost, just look for the blue gems and use them as your guide to where you need to go. During my gameplay there isn’t a significance that I noticed with the blue gems, only to be something you collected. This is topped off by a counter in the top right showing you how many blue gems are in the stage, so if you find yourself going a while without grabbing a blue gem then you probably missed an area. The blue gems aren’t needed to pass the level, but if you’re all in on getting every collectable than your time in a level may differ from others. You come across enemies and realized that jumping on their head is the best way to dispatch of them. This game mechanic isn’t set to just 16-bit games, but it’s a mechanic that works and has worked since I Super Mario Bros.. You don’t have a life bar, but you do find hearts with numbers in the middle. It was later that I found out that this allows for you to get hit without dying, but when you do get hit the heart leaves your body and starts bouncing around with the number in the middle counting down. The tough part about tying to run after it and getting it back is that fact that it may bounce off a cliff or to the enemy that initially hit you and it may be difficult to get back. This is also a nostalgic throwback to Super Mario Bros. where if you hit a question mark block and a mushroom came out, it may go the opposite way of where you are and you must go chase it down. As you jump on enemies to take them out you’ll eventually come to a large rock where electricity comes out when you get near it, these are save points. Like in most games with available save points, these are scattered around and you’ll more than often find them after completing a difficult section of the level. The one thing that I didn’t catch until I came across it a few times were white rats showing you were hidden rooms are. There are fake walls that you can walk through to get more gems or hearts. So, if you see a white rat walking around, do a quick once over in the area and look for any hidden rooms with potentially helpful items such as hearts. You make it to your father and are given Mjölnir as a gift. You can throw the magical hammer and it will ricochet off the walls and bounce around the level hurting and eventually taking out enemies it hits. You can also use the hammer to open pathways and to grab items that may be out of reach, such as gems. Even though the hammer will bounce all over where you are, if you press the same button to throw it again while it’s out of your possession it will return to you. There’s a bit of geometry that comes into play, so you’ll need to take time and aim it so it will eventually get to where you want it to go. This will be your main attack along side your jump and both will work to aid your adventure on through the rest of the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdXrVAbDFmk The story progresses and you start making your way to different levels and experiencing different items to find. Along side the blue gems, there are also red big gems that are hidden and can be used to open different pathways. I feel like the game is rewarding for taking some extra time to explore the levels they’ve built. You also learn that Thor is not much a swimmer and dies if you hit the water. Luckily there doesn’t seem to be a set number of lives available, so if you need to take an hour and try to complete a section so you can get to the next save point, then that’s what you’ll be able to do. I was briefly stuck at the end of the first level as it didn’t really end, but I found something that looked like a portal with the option to quit level. Surely I didn’t want to quit the level, but after a few minutes I realized that the wording may not be the bets, and that’s how your end the level once you’re done collecting everything. The second level is where the difficulty ramps up when it comes to enemies. What you think is harmless snail with small spikes on his back is actually one of the more frustrating enemies you’ll meet during this demo. Throwing your hammer at it will do nothing, but it will become vulnerable when it pops out of it’s shell and starts walking towards you. You have to treat it like a Boo from Super Mario World and turn your back to it and then throw your hammer, jump over it when it comes back to you and have it hit the snail. This is simple enough when it comes to one snail, but when it comes to multiple it can be tricky. You can even bounce your hammer off a snail that is in it’s shell so it comes back and hits the snail behind you. The first big boss you fight is a forest creature who drops blocks like Tetris pieces has lark vine walls come up from the world The object is to hit the monster with your hammer, but if there are walls blocking the way you’ll have to bounce it off the falling blocks so it destroys the wall and breaks through to the monster. I really like the set it and forget it aspect of the strategy asking to be used. You can have it bound back and forth until it hits the monster all the while being able to jump to safety. I also like how there’s a tad bit of a delay when the blocks emerge when they fall, this gives you time to jump out of the way or call back your hammer if you’re trapped and a block is going to fall on you. After defeating the monster you acquire the ability to perform a double jump. The map opens up and instead of going to the next level you have two options. There is a blocked pathway I couldn’t get to because I accidentally missed a gem and couldn’t unlock it, and there’s the other path. Now I don’t know what levels 3-7 had but for some reason the difficulty jumped up by a lot. I’m not talking about enemies, I’m talking about puzzles that involved tough enemies. The bees so far must be my least favorite enemy to face. Even with bouncing your hammer all over the place it’s hard to take them out. I spent almost an hour on a puzzle where I had to step on a flower and bounce my hammer off a wall to hit another flower, which caused it to blow air under me and allow me to get a higher ledge. The geometry part was frustrating, but then you get a section where there ware two bee hives spewing out bees and you have to hit the boxes above you to open the pathway. You can jump down to try to avoid the bees, but it blocks your view of the opening above and if you try to jump back up to kill the bees you’re guaranteed to get hit and die. I tried numerous strategies and ultimately it was just an issue of not throwing the hammer the right angle so it hits everything. Later the bees turn into a moving walkway as you have to jump off of them to go left and right and up to reach higher places. After making it through this very difficult level the demo ends. Despite what you may think, I had fun with the game. The difficulty spiked up pretty quickly, but if you have a mouse and keyboard and play on Steam that puzzles where you have to bounce your hammer off the walls may be a little easier. I wonder if can switch it up and disconnect your controller when you get to those parts so you can use your keyboard and then plug it back in to continue your game. I really like the visuals and the game itself ran very smoothly. The puzzles were frustrating, but fun. I didn’t want to give up on them, because there were unlimited lives. I feel that adds to the ability to spend so much time in one area, not having to worry about eating all your lives and starting the whole level over. There should be a degree of difficulty and this game meets it, but I would start off with the easy difficulty until you get really good with throwing your hammer or else you may get stuck like me in a section for almost an hour. I’m not sure what the price is going to be, but if you play the demo and really like it then it really shouldn’t matter. Get it on Steam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIyRCrwnjGI Read the full article

Welcome to the Lands Between! Holy fuck sorry for a lot of text I tried to be concise and it's still long ><
Elden Ring is rough to get into, the mechanics are explained rather badly in the tutorial, so some things can be rather confusing. I'll explain what I can.
> Leveling up
Killing enemies, bosses and exploring the areas for golden runes, will give you a certain amount of runes on your counter in the bottom right corner. You need to meet a certain maiden to get the ability to level up at any site of grace.
After that you're met with a rather informative but very loaded menu with your stats. There are 2 types of stats, your survivability stats and your damage stats. Survivability are:
Vigor — put your runes into this to improve your healthbar. The most important stat in the game, if you feel like the enemies kill you in like 2-3 hits, you should level up Vigor. By the end of the game you should have 60!
Mind — Your blue bar, improves your mana. Good for casters of all kinds, but can also be useful if you like using weapon skills.
Endurance — your green bar, stamina. It's responsible for how many actions you can make in a row before you need to take a break. But the most important part of this stat is increased equip load, which allows you to carry more armour and heavier weapons at the same time. Level it up whenever you pick up a piece of equipment you want to carry but can't because you're in Heavy Load.
Heavy Load is when you start rolling slowly and awkwardly because your equipment takes up more than 70% of your equip load.
And damage stats are Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Faith and Arcane. On your journey you will acquire weapons, spells and skills that require certain stats to wield (For example, a heavy sword might require 30 strength to wield)
You can see weapon requirements as a number in your equipment menu when you select a weapon.
There are also scalings, which is a multiplier that increases your damage from how much of a certain stat you have. The scalings are, from best to worst: S A B C D E
For example, you can pick up a Greatsword that requires 34 Strength and has a B in strength scaling. This means it's a strength weapon and you will benefit from leveling up more of your strength stat.
Don't spread your stats around too much, choose 1-2 damage stats to focus on and ignore everything else. Don't worry, you'll be able to respec your stats later in the game if you wish to switch your build!
> Crafting
You can craft some useful consumables while out of combat in your crafting menu. To unlock crafting, talk to merchant Kalé at the Church of Elleh in Limgrave, it's right behind that golden knight on a horse (just run behind him you can fight him later when you're stronger!)
To unlock more crafting recipes, explore the world and find/buy cookbooks. There are many of them in the game. You can see what they unlock in their item description.
> Upgrading
I assume you're talking about weapon upgrades. There is an anvil you can use at the church of elleh that allows you to upgrade your weapons using Smithing Stones that you find all over the world, but mostly in caves and tunnels. Unfortunately, you are bad at smithing so you can only upgrade a weapon to a certain level. To improve it further you have to find a blacksmith. You'll know it when you see him.
> What the fuck is going on in this game
From Software has a... unique way of storytelling. There are very little cutscenes. Most of the story is told through dialogue and item descriptions you can look at in your inventory by picking up various items around the world.
Don't worry, there isn't too much reading. Each item description is a few sentences long, concisely telling you what this item is and a little snippet of the overall story of this area. Pay attention to where and why you pick up certain items.
Listen carefully to what NPCs tell you, that's the main part of the story. Not all of them are to be trusted, that you'll have to figure out on your own.
As you can see, even figuring out the story requires some effort. You don't have to do this and go just watch VaatiVidya on YouTube like everyone else. Or, if you're like all the cool kids, watch TB Skyen on YouTube, he recently resumed his Elden Ring series. Oh hey he's also active on Tumblr! @ohnoitstbskyen
It's a lot of fun if you figure out the story on your own, though!
If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask.
Man I try my BEST to like Elden Ring. I know it is a game about patience and whatever but these mechanics are not of my liking plus I barely understand the leveling up/Crafting/Upgrading system. PLUS where’s the story? It feels like you need to do so much for so little.
Idk, I really want to like it because 1) it was v fucking expensive, two it was game of the year last year for a reason (I guess) but UGH

Cosy nights in
Player: Virgil van Dijk Words: 1048 Requested: Anon Warnings: Mentions of seasonal depression A/N: Hope you like it lovely! Thank you for requesting this prompt 🧡
Autumn masterlist
------------
She quickly unlocked the door, leaving the cold and rain behind and dropped her bag next to the shoe cabinet. Taking off her coat and shoes, she moved into the living room.
“Hey babe,” Virgil called from the kitchen. He turned around at the stove and opened his arms for her to come and get a hug. She sighed as her body melted against his, his strong arms wrapping around her.
“How was your day?” he murmured, rubbing a hand along her back.
“Long. Exhausting,” she said quietly against his chest. She loved her job, knew that all of this stress would be worth it come January, but right now it was a lot to deal with on top of already feeling worn out by simply existing.
“What are you making?” she asked to change the subject. Virgil smiled.
“That soup you love. Asked your mum for her recipe so I hope I did it justice.”
“You-.. you phoned mum for her recipe? Oh Virg…” she said, swallowing back tears.
“I know how hard this time of year is on you and well, I might’ve done some digging online to figure out how to help,” Virgil said, pulling back to look at her, brushing away the tears that were rolling down her cheeks.
They both knew that was an understatement. Every year when the grey clouds would roll in towards the beginning of November, they would also take over her mind and dull everything. Everything, except the sadness. Last year, she got the official diagnosis for Seasonal Affective Disorder. Virgil had never worried she would hurt herself –she had never reached those levels of feeling low– but he did worry about her. Virgil hadn’t heard her laugh for a couple of weeks now and would do anything to get her to smile. It wasn’t until he started doing some research that Virgil remembered an old teammate talking about the Danish concept of hygge and a plan had started to take shape.
“So I bought you your favourite candle, found that rooibos tea you like, and phoned your mum for her soup recipe. I thought we could maybe cuddle on the couch and watch a film or play a card game? Hendo let me borrow the one we played when we were there during the summer,” Virgil explained, shrugging with one shoulder. “I know it’s no cure but-..”
“It’s perfect, Virg,” she interrupted him, “thank you, it means so much that you’d do all of this just to help.”
“It’s the least I can do, you’ve been there through every injury and defeat,” Virgil replied, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. She snuggled into his chest, standing there while he continued cooking.
“How about you go get changed into something comfy, dinner’s almost ready,” Virgil said gently. She nodded, letting go of him and going upstairs.
+
The soup had been almost as good as when her mother made it and she told him just that as they settled on the couch –her with a mug of gingerbread rooibos tea (her favourite for the colder months) and him with a coffee. Virgil chuckled and lit the candles on the coffee table. The rest of the room was lit by a couple of lamps that gave a soft warm glow.
“Thanks lieverd, glad you liked it.” He sat down next to her, pulling her against him.
“So, film or card game?” he asked.
“Card game, not in the mood for a film.” Virgil nodded and got up to get the game. She moved the pillows to the floor so they could use the coffee table and sat down, pulling one of the fuzzy throws over her legs. She remembered playing it that summer. They had spent the afternoon playing games with a small group of Liverpool players and their partners and had ended it with a BBQ. If she closed her eyes, she could still hear the laughter. Virgil walked back into the living room and sat down next to her, pulling her from her memories.
Virgil grinned as she threw her head back with laughter. They had lost track of the score halfway through the second round, but to him? This was a win. A light had returned to her eyes and she couldn’t stop her lips from tugging up in a smile. Virgil knew he hadn’t “fixed” her, there was no real cure. She had an appointment the following week to start light therapy to see if that would help. He hoped it would. It made him feel utterly helpless to watch the person he loved retreat more and more into herself and not being able to do anything to stop it.
“Oh my God, that shouldn’t be as funny as it is!” she said, wiping away a tear.
“That’s the aim of the game, no?” Virgil said, still grinning, which earned him another laugh from her.
“It very much is. Thanks babe, this was just what I needed.” She leaned over the corner of the table and kissed him. Virgil smiled into the kiss, resting a hand against her cheek as he kissed her back.
“You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear you laugh. Love you,” he murmured in the space between their lips when he broke the kiss.
“Love you too, Virg. So much,” she said, voice barely louder than a whisper. Virgil kissed her again, briefly, and leant back against the couch. She snuggled into his side and tried to hide a yawn behind her hand.
“Let’s go to bed, yeah?” She nodded, but made no attempt to get up. Virgil chuckled and got up from the floor, pulling her up with him. He blew out all the candles and picked her up, carrying her up the stairs, into their bedroom. They quickly changed into their pyjamas and climbed into bed. She once again snuggled into him, her head resting on his chest. Virgil combed a hand through her hair absentmindedly, feeling her relax. She sighed contently.
“Thanks Virg, for getting me my favourite things and just being the best husband.” Virgil pressed a kiss to her hair as a reply, letting his lips rest there. He felt her breathing evening out and allowed sleep to pull him under as well.
