If I can't have you, no one can. // Yandere!Aemond Targaryen x Fem!Reader [ONE SHOT]

Summary: Aemond cannot bear to watch you be married to someone else.

Aemond has always been obsessed with you as far as he can remember, he remembers the moment he fell in love with you.
He was a young boy, recently recovering from the incident at driftmark, wearing bandages around his face to recover, he didn't get out of his room much, too insecure to show his face after the incident.
The rare times he was out was to converse with his sister Helaena, and in those exchanges was when he met you, you were a lady of a small house, assigned to Helaena as a lady in waiting, or a playmate. She had introduced you to him and he was reluctant and had his guard up at first, but eventually he warmed up to you, and soon became friends with you too.
You saw him without his bandages once, it was an accident, Aemond panicked and screamed at you to get out, being extremely insecure at the wound, and you immediately obeyed, not wanting to anger him further.
You found him crying in a corner for an odd reason, and he looked up at you, before wiping his tears away and looking ahead. You sat down next to him to which he was surprised by.
“Why are you crying?” you asked him, and he sniffed, “You can drop the acting, I know you think I'm hideous, a monster.” he spits bitterly.
You gasp at that before quickly reply, “I do not, your wound is a proof of your bravery, I do not know how you got it, neither do I intend to pry on it if you are not comfortable, but it is a reminder that you are brave. That you overcame a dire situation.” you say and he sniffs once again, he hated being seen so vulnerable but never in his life did he feel so accepted and loved.
And then went on to tell you how he got it and by the end of the story you were seething, “Those vile bastards, how could they do that?” you seethed, Aemond was surprised at that before he chuckled, “I wasn't planning on hitting them with the rock, they are my nephews after all.” he explained his side and you nodded, defending him and taking his side.
It was the moment he fell in love with you, watching you talk about he didn't deserve that, you didn't pity him, you shared his anger and wrath, and from that moment onwards, he wanted to have you.
As you both grew older, Aemond's love got more twisted and dark, his love becoming obsessive and suffocating, he refused to let any man gaze at you longer than needed, always staying by your side and only leaving when he had to. He would lay on your lap as you read to him before pressing kisses on his forehead, you eventually fell in love with him too.
You were unaware of his doings, he killed multiple people who he saw as a threat, a threat to your relationship, he wanted to rip everyone who touched you to shreds, he wanted you to be only his, forever and ever.
And so begun your secret relationship, he would pull you to an isolate area to shower you in kisses and lovebites, he made your father get a position in the small council so you could stay in the keep, he would sneak to your room at night from the secret pathways.
He remembers vividly when he took your maidenhead, promising to marry you as he spilled his seed deep inside of you. He was the happiest man alive in that moment, he thought about you swelling with his child, and how much of a great mother you would be.
His plans came to an abrupt stop when he heard that you would be marrying a Cregan Stark, in hopes of bringing more allies to back up Aegon's claim when they usurp the throne, and also that Cregan had taken interest in you so much that he was willing to break an oath, which is never done by any Starks.
He saw red in those moments, felt pure rage, how could they propose that? The realm be damned for hells. He would rather rain fire on the realm than watch you get married off to someone else.
But alas, he was bound by duty and had to watch you be married to him, the wedding took place in the keep like your father had insisted, as the North would be too cold for them to visit.
The consummation of your marriage was to be done in your chambers. You had left early because you didn't want this either. Cregan was talking to important lords and it seemed that it would take a while before he retired.
So you laid on your bed thinking of what to do when you heard the door of the passageway open and your head snapped to the side finding Aemond, he immediately wasted no time pouncing on you.
“Fuck, fuck I can't let him have you.” He breathes against your neck, trailing kisses down to your breasts, he pulled up the chemise revealing your intimate area and breasts before he latched his mouth onto one and suckled like a hungry babe.
His hand trailed towards your intimate area, finding it wet already, “Is this for me or for him?” he asks, and your breath hitches in your throat when you feel him press the fingers down on your clit, “Y-you.” you say and he smirks before his rubs small circles against your clit.
His fingers trail down further and prod at your entrance before he slides in a finger, you gasp when you feel his fingers hit the rough patch almost immediately, it seems as if he knew it by memory. He thrust his fingers in and out, watching you squirm and moan his name, he wanted to be inside of you so badly, so he pulled his fingers out and licked them clean.
He undid his breeches before pushing your legs apart and burying himself in your cunt, you moaned in pleasure as you felt him spilt you open, you wrapped your legs around his hips and encouraged him to move, his hands pinned yours to the side before he started moving and rutting his hips against yours
You moaned and chanted his name like a prayer, he hands left your hands to grope your breasts as he kissed your lips, he pulled away to look at your dazed expression as he felt you clenching around him knowing that you are close, he watched as you closed your eyes before moaning his name out loud and coming undone beneath him, he groaned at the pretty sight.
His thrusts became more sloppier before he pushed to the hilt and came inside you with a loud gasp.
You both were breathing heavily, you pulled your chemise down and turned to him, he plopped down beside you, doing up his breeches and you rested your head on his chest, the moment was so perfect, but the truth weighed on him like a curse, and so he got up and paced the room, angrily, wanting to do something, but knowing he won't be able to do anything without destroying the alliance.
He can't let Cregan have you either.
You sat up and looked at him and then the atmosphere of the room shifted into a sinister one, Aemond going mad to his obsession with each second, he slowly stalked towards you before he stood in front of you, caressing your face and leaning down to kiss you.
“You're mine, you belong to me, I can't let him have you, no no, you're mine.” he grunted angrily and just then something evil popped up in his head.
His hand slowly reached for his dagger, you watched him, confused.
“If I can't have you…… ” he trailed off before kissing you.
“No one can.” he whispered against your lips as he plunged the dagger straight into your chest, digging it in your heart and stabbed you, you gasped in pain before the light in your eyes faded, falling unconscious.
He pulled his dagger out and watched as you fell backwards onto the bed, the life leaving your body, the blood soaking your chemise and now the white blood sheets, he snapped out of his dark thoughts and felt the weight of the situation.
He panicked when he realised what he had done, he immediately left the room when he heard the door open, hiding in the passageway, having guilt weigh on him, but he also felt satisfied in a sick way that no one could ever have you now, just like he can't.
Cregan screamed for the guards and for some odd reason, this entire situation somehow was blamed on the blacks, accusing them of sending assassins to kill you, this only made Cregan support the greens more.
Aemond had achieved what he wanted, but he couldn't bear to live along with the fact that you were gone, feeling lonely, he went mad and so, he followed you.
That day, Alicent screamed when she found Aemond's dead body, a letter written to apologise to everyone for leaving them behind, but he couldn't bear to live without you.
And so you and Aemond went down as a tragic story of unrequited love.
Where everyone tells the stories of how Aemond was smitten with you since a young age, but he watched you get married off to someone else and also die in the same night, it was told how he mourned and grieved for you, succumbing to madness before finally following suit.
The story was more sinister than that.
However they wouldn't know.
Nobody would know the truth.

For the Love of the Game [Pazzi | Part 10/10]
paige bueckers x azzi fudd
summary: the end 🙏
a/n: decided to combine the last two chapters into one! don’t mind the abrupt ending
word count: 2.1k
masterlist w/ all parts
“You and Paige played together on the U16 and U17 USA Basketball teams, where you guys won a championship at the 2018 FIBA World Cup. Has there been a noticeable difference in your on-court chemistry from USA Baskerball to UConn after the development of your more personal relationship?”
Azzi stared at Leo blankly. “With Paige’s ACL, we haven’t gotten many opportunities to play together yet, so I wouldn’t know.”
Leo raised her eyebrows expectantly. When Azzi crossed her arms and looked away, refusing to speak anymore, she sighed in frustration and clicked her pen. “Okay…” she drawled out. Her eyes scanned her notes for the next question. “Paige was the first freshman to win the AP and Naismith Player of the Year. Although she’s still an underclassman, it would be fair to say she has a lot of valuable experience and natural leadership. What have you personally learned from Paige?”
“That she’s a fuck ass bitch,” Azzi whispered under her breath.
Leo leaned forward. “What was that?”
“Nothing.” Azzi smiled charmingly at the blinking red dot on the camera. “Paige definitely makes her presence known on the court.“ She paused, gathering her thoughts. Leo sent her an encouraging smile, her pen finally scribbling for the first time in the entire interview.
Azzi thought back to the way Paige had used to speak to her, both in their time playing together at USA Basketball and in the months leading up to their agreement. “It’s the fact that you can’t shoot a mid ranger without getting the ball turned over. These are basic foundations of basketball, Fudd. You’re playing college ball now. It’s time to grow up.” Paige had spat, months earlier. Azzi pursed her lips, her anger further fueled from the words they’d thrown at each other in the hospital bathroom the week before. “If she sees a weakness or a flaw in your play, she won’t hesitate to point it out. She likes having her way with things.” Leo’s smile slowly faded. “She has a whole system set up at UConn, and if you dare challenge it, she’ll make you regret it.” By the end of her rant, Azzi was rigid in her seat, the tips of her ears on fire as she riled herself up.
Leo’s pen slowly started moving. She aggressively slammed down her pen and paused the camera. “We can’t use that!”
Azzi looked innocently at her. “Why not?”
“No one is gonna watch this film and think you guys are dating with the way you’re speaking about her,” Leo scowled.
Azzi rolled her eyes. “I doubt Paige said anything positive about me either. Why can’t you just bin the interviews and work with the segments you already have?”
“No, she didn’t,” Leo answered roughly. “Paige gave great answers. You’re the one that’s hard to work with.”
Azzi’s leg stopped jittering. “What do you mean great answers?”
Leo clicked away on her laptop before swiveling it around to face the dark haired girl. “Watch,” she demanded, pressing play.
The video was dark and muted at first, until someone adjusted the camera and it showed Paige, sitting in one of those director’s cameras. A mic was attached to the collar of her jersey, and her hair was pinned up in her signature two braids and ponytail. Azzi’s heart ached. This was her first time seeing Paige since their incident in the bathroom, and she looked good. Better than good. She’d obviously recovered well from her surgery; her skin was glowing and the bags under her eyes were lighter than normal. Her deep blue eyes were sparkling, and she looked in a good mood.
Leo’s voice filtered in from off camera. “What do you like about Azzi?”
Paige smiled uneasily. “Basketball wise or uh,” she shifted in her seat, “girlfriend wise?”
“Both.”
“Well, in terms of basketball, I don’t really have to speak for her,” Paige laughed all nervous, and Azzi could feel her blood pumping faster through her veins. “I mean, everyone knows how good she is. She has a killer pull-up and unlimited range. Her jump shot is perfect, and she’s lethal with her catch and shoot threes.”
At that moment, Leo cut in. “Many people have been saying that with you out, UConn suffers a major drawback. Are you worried about the position of your team without your guidance on the court?”
Paige’s expression changed. “I hear that, and I understand that, but honestly, I’m not as worried as people think I am. Each player on the team is a valuable asset. If we’re talking about Azzi, she’s been putting in extra work to expand her offensive role ever since my injury. I’ve been watching her at practice, and let’s just say, I think that other teams should be even more scared of UConn this upcoming season.”
Azzi felt like someone had just dumped an entire bucket of ice water on her head. What was Paige saying? She’d expected Paige to be condescending, that of course the team was going to suffer badly without her, to laugh at the idea that Azzi would be able to compensate for her loss. But here Paige was, talking about Azzi like she’d hung the damn moon.
Leo’s voice on the video brought her back to attention. “Now, what about personally? You and Azzi have been recently named the ‘it couple’ of women’s baseball, even despite your…” Leo hesitated as she searched for the right word, “tumultuous history. We’d love to learn about what you appreciate about who fans have dubbed as the people’s princess.”
Paige smiled tightly. Azzi noticed her tapping her finger against the side of her leg, a nervous tic that not many people knew she had. “Azzi is a really good person.”
“Can you expand on that?”
Paige’s eyes focused on her lap. “She’s very selfless. Especially in the beginning, I struggled a lot mentally with my injury. Basketball means the world to me, and not being able to play it is devastating. But Azzi, you know, she’s torn her ACL before. She was there for me in the whole process, driving me to rehab sessions and making sure I always ate and doing stupid things with me to get my mind off my knee.” A faint smile flickered on the blonde’s lips as she thought to herself. “I probably wouldn’t have survived it without her.”
Azzi swallowed, trying to dissipate the knot forming in her throat. She’d been so furious at Paige just moments before - for minimizing her struggle to find her sexual identity, for trying to make their situation and her feelings so black and white when everything was a muddled grey for her. And now, Azzi was positively vibrating, like she was a little schoolgirl whose crush had just complimented her.
“You see?” Leo shut her laptop, giving Azzi a pointed look. “This is what we’re aiming for.”
Azzi rubbed her palms together, thinking. Paige had callen her confusing, but right now, Paige was the confusing one. She’d essentially told Azzi to go away and never speak to her again, and then pulled shit like this. How could Azzi stay away from her when Paige was putting her name on a banner and waving it for everyone to see?
———————
Paige studied the notepad of plays in front of her. When the circles and xs and lines started blurring together on the paper from her staring at it so hard, she exhaled, letting her eyes shut for a moment.
“Hey,” Geno said gently from besides her. “Stop stressing. The girls got it.”
Paige nodded, looking up to watch her team as they warmed up for the season opener. Every bone in her body itched to be out there, stretching and warming up her shots with her girls. But she couldn’t, and right now she had to trust her team. Besides, she had an important job out here too. She’d helped draw up half of these plays, going over the strategy and who to place where in order to maximize each player’s individual talents and get as many points as possible.
Her eyes fell on Azzi. She looked nervous for her first official debut of her college career, and Paige wanted to mentally send her a message - to tell her to keep her chin up, to play as hard as possible and show everyone why she was the #1 high school recruit of her class. But Paige knew that talking to Azzi now for the first time in a month would probably heighten the girl’s nerves even more, so she kept her mouth shut, forcing herself to look away.
At half time of the game, Azzi had already scored 10 points, but Paige could tell that she was off. The crowds in the stands were large and loud, even for a season opener, and she could tell it was getting to the younger girl’s head by the way she kept missing shots she normally would’ve aced.
Someone tapped Paige’s shoulder from behind her. She turned around and saw a few guys sitting together who looked like they attended UConn. “Hey,” one of them nodded. “You miss being part of the action?”
Paige liked talking to fans, but right now she wanted to focus on the game, so she only gave a quick nod in response before turning around.
Soon, another tap came. Trying not to roll her eyes, she turned around again. “Yes?”
“It looks like your team needs you,” one of the guys chuckled, his eyes fixed on the court. Paige followed his gaze to the girls playing, and right on cue, Azzi sailed another shot. Paige’s heart lurched as the younger girl bit her lip and sprinted back to defense, a hollow look in her eyes.
“You carry the team, bro. Number 35 just missed again. You might need to give her some pointers.” The guy grinned at her, as if what he’d said was a compliment. Then, as if he couldn’t get any more audacity, he whipped out a Sharpie and dropped it on her lap. “By the way, can you sign my jersey?”
Paige stared in disbelief at the Sharpie before she picked it up and threw it at his face. She felt a sadistic sense of satisfaction as the Sharpie hit the guy right in the eye and he howled, hands going to up to massage the area.
“I’m not signing any of your shit,” she growled. “Number 35 has a name, and Azzi Fudd would drop 20 on your sorry ass any day.” With that, she turned around, fury pulsing through her veins and enlivening her senses. She secretly applauded herself for having the self control not to punch the living daylights out of that guy right then and there.
Thankfully, Azzi seemed to get ahold of her nerves after Geno’s inspiring speech at half, going on to score 10 additional points while barely missing any more shots, an impressive performance for a freshman debut. The game ended with Aaliyah pulling through to hit the game-winning buzzer beater.
Deciding that was cause for celebration, the team decided to go to Tim’s for drinks together after. Paige went straight to the bar as soon as they arrived, ordering a Shirley Temple. When she turned around, she came face to face with the guys from the game earlier.
“Hey,” one of them smirked. “Go tell your lesbo girlfriend good job for me. She looked a little rusty tonight but if you give her my number I can help her with that.” Laughing, he threw a crumpled up piece of paper at Paige, hitting her in the chest, and that’s when everything went red.
Flinging her crutches to the side, Paige moved towards him with a ferocity she’d never felt, grabbing the collar of his shirt. “Listen here, motherfucker,” she hissed. “Clearly your mother didn’t teach you any manners so I guess it’s up to me.” She let go, and the guy stumbled back, fear in his eyes. Then she reared her first back and punched him.
The guy cried out in pain, blood gushing from his nose. Incensed, his friends turned on Paige. “Come on,” she becked her hands at them. “Give me all you’ve got.” The guy she’d hit with the Sharpie earlier lunged towards her, but before he could reach her, hands grabbed Paige’s hips and pulled her back.
“What the fuck are you doing?” A familiar voice growled into her ear, restraining Paige as her other teammates rushed to intervene.
“I was giving them what they deserved,” Paige said bitterly, turning away from the scene. She shook out her hand, her knuckles aching.
“In case you haven’t noticed, there’s three of them and one of you.” Azzi forcefully moved Paige’s hips so that they were facing each other now. “What the hell has gotten into you?”
“Azzi! Take Paige away before she does any more damage,” Nika demanded as one of the guys she was pushing away started spitting curses at Paige.
Azzi grabbed Paige’s crutches, marching her off to the bathroom. She slammed the door behind them, anger evident in the slanting of her eyebrows and flattening of her mouth. “Are you serious, Paige? Getting into fights at the bar? You could get a suspension for this!”
“It doesn’t matter.” Paige fixed her eyes on the peeling paint on the wall. “I can’t even play anyways.”
“You said you don’t need my help.” Azzi paced back and forth angrily. “But here you are, throwing yourself at the hands of three grown men.”
“I didn’t need your help. I had the situation under control,” Paige said coldly.
Azzi grabbed Paige’s shoulders, shaking them. “You’re in crutches, Paige. You can barely even move. I get that you’re frustrated with your injury but you can’t just ignore it!” Azzi slumped against the sink, her head in her hands. “Why’d you even start attacking them anyways? Nothing is worth putting yourself in danger like that.”
You’re worth it, Paige thought. But she stayed quiet, hoping Azzi’s anger would blow over.
“Are you serious? You’re not even gonna tell me what started this whole thing?” Azzi threw up her hands in exasperation. “Is this what you’re like now? Being all moody and mysterious and hitting people whenever you feel like it? I don’t even know you anymore.”
Paige clenched and unclenched her fist. The soreness was starting to get her. Azzi must’ve noticed, because she took her hand and examined it.
“It’s gonna bruise,” Azzi said, her voice now soft.
Paige shrugged.
Sighing, Azzi gently led Paige’s hand under the faucet. She gently washed away the blood on her knuckles. Paige flinched - not at the pain, but from the all too familiar feeling of Azzi’s fingers touching her.
Azzi managed to find some bandages after rummaging through the cabinets. She slowly wrapped the gauze around Paige’s knuckles, her touch sending electric sparks through Paige’s hand. Neither of them spoke as Azzi patched her up, the tension in the air thick.
Paige swallowed, the silence becoming overbearing. “They were saying things about you.”
Azzi’s eyes shot up, her hand stilling. “What?”
Paige ducked her head, avoiding her stare. “The guys. They were at the game and making stupid comments the entire time, and I mostly ignored them.” She huffed. “But then they came here, and when they said something else, I just lost it.”
Azzi’s jaw clenched. She finished wounding the bandage, but she didn’t let go of Paige’s hand, and Paige didn’t move either. “I don’t need you defending my honor,” Azzi said quietly. Her thumb brushed once against Paige’s knuckles. “People like those guys are always gonna talk. It’s better to just ignore them and not give them what they want.”
Paige grunted, clearly not heeding Azzi’s words.
Azzi’s lips parted. “I miss you.”
Paige grinded her teeth.
“And I know you miss me too.” Azzi put her finger under Paige’s chin, forcing her to make eye contact. “I watched your interview with Leo.”
Paige cursed. “I told her not to show you that.”
“I would’ve seen it eventually, once she published her film.” Azzi studied the blonde’s face, memorizing the features she’d missed so much. Her long eyelashes, the way they fluttered. The wrinkle in the corner of her eyebrow. The turn of her pretty pink lips.
“I know you’re angry that I couldn’t tell you what I wanted. I was still figuring myself out. And these past few weeks, I’ve been working at it. Trying to come to terms with my sexuality.” Azzi took a deep breath, stepping closer. Paige’s hands instinctively went down, brushing the younger girl’s waist as the distance between them grew closer.
“I think I’m bi,” Azzi breathed out. “And if you can’t respect that, then I don’t think we can be together. But I don’t think my sexuality was the issue. I think that you were hurting, and you were impatient, and you wanted an immediate answer, and when I couldn’t give that to you, you ran away.”
Paige’s eyebrows furrowed.
“We’re killing each other, P,” Azzi whispered. “It’s torture not being able to see you and kiss you every day. And you’re obviously not coping with it any better than I am.” She brought her hands to cup Paige’s face, pressing their foreheads together. Paige relaxed, leaning into her touch.
“I need you, Paige,” Azzi begged. “I need us.”
Paige’s heart erupted, and she closed the gap between them, bringing her lips to Azzi’s and pulling her in for a bruising kiss. Azzi gasped, but recovered quickly, tangling her hands into Paige’s hair.
“‘M sorry,” Paige breathed as soon as they broke apart. “I was so awful. I should’ve never made you feel stupid for trying to figure out your sexuality.” She bit her lip, anguish in her eyes. “It’s just always been so easy for me. I’ve always known I liked girls. I was being hot-headed and I didn’t consider how you were feeling.”
Azzi laughed. “Yeah, that was pretty shitty of you. But I did some selfish shit too.” She nudged her nose with Paige’s. “And I think it’d be fair to call us even.”
Paige trailed her hands up Azzi’s sides. “What I told you at my surgery was complete bullshit. You’re always on my mind, driving me fuckin’ insane. I’ve missed you so much.”
“I know. Getting into fights and everything. A little part of me is flattered,” Azzi joked. Paige groaned in embarrassment, hiding her face in the crease of Azzi’s neck. Azzi brought her hands up to rub her back in calming circles. “Everything’s over. We went on the Europe trip, where you ignored me the whole time,” she laughed at that. “And Leo’s done with her film. She’s set to submit it tomorrow.”
Paige nodded, drawing back to look Azzi in the eye. “No more of this fake dating shit. I want you to be my girl for real.” She tenderly caressed Azzi’s cheek, not believing how someone as beautiful and kind as Azzi could want someone like her. “I meant everything I said in the interview, ya know? About how talented you are at basketball and how selfless you are in real life.”
“I know,” Azzi whispered, “I know.”
“I’m gonna take you on a date,” Paige rambled. “A good fucking date. The best date you’ve ever had. Gonna make you forget about all the other girls you’ve ever been with.”
“That sounds great, baby,” Azzi giggled softly, her hand playing with the wisps of hair at the base of Pige’s neck.
“Gonna make you fall in love with me,” Paige mumbled, her head dropping on Azzi’s shoulder. Azzi smiled. You already have, she thought silently.

Whoopie!
Tumblr media
Summary: You decide to play baker while Yelena is at work and you’re stuck at home recovering from an injury. A fluffy sugar rush ensues.
Pairings: Yelena Belova x Reader
Genre: Fluff, Comfort, Angst
Word Count: 2k words
Warnings: A tiny bit of angst, but with a happy ending. Mentions of injury.
A/N: I had so much fun writing this! I took from my own experience as a dessert lover with a tendency for sugar rushes. Plus, I like the idea of Yelena saying whoopie lmao.
You were feeling restless, cooped up at home. You had already cycled through the TV channels several times that morning, having exhausted all the episodes of Friends on Netflix. It had only been a week since a mission gone awry left you with a gunshot wound to the shoulder and a few lacerations. After undergoing surgery and spending a week in the Med Bay, Cho gave you the green light to continue your recovery at home.
You felt ready to return to work in some capacity, but Yelena insisted that you should keep resting at home. It was her first day back at the compound following your surgery, so you knew she would be calling soon to check on you and ensure you were sticking to the rest. While trying to pick something to watch, you came across an episode of The Great British Bake Off. This show was familiar to you – back when you and Wanda were on an undercover mission together, she had convinced you to watch it with her.
You were notorious for your sweet tooth, which was common knowledge among the team. Your unique habit of stashing candy in your suit pockets sets you apart. There was that one memorable incident when Nat ended up with a Twinkie instead of the weapon you intended to hand her during a heated skirmish, much to her dismay. The power of subliminal messaging was evident as your craving for something sweet led you to search for a treat. Despite your careful movements due to your arm sling, you made your way to the kitchen in pursuit of a sugary delight. Disappointed by the lack of candy, you grumbled as you began to head back to your room. Suddenly, thoughts of "The Great British Bake-Off" came to mind.
You considered yourself an accomplished baker. You made Christmas cookies for the team and pastry chef-quality birthday cakes every year. After a brief pause, you began searching for ingredients and the KitchenAid stand mixer. You figured your girlfriend couldn't be upset with you for being up and about if the stand mixer was doing most of the work, right?
You reach for your phone to look up some recipes and come across red velvet whoopie pies. The idea of baking something delicious for Yelena felt right - a sweet gesture to show her how much you appreciate her. She's been there for you since the moment she found you wounded on the ground, and caring for you has been a challenge. You want to express your gratitude, and for you, baking has always been a way to show love.
You carefully gathered all the ingredients on the kitchen counter: flour, baking soda, vegetable oil, eggs, sugar, salt, buttermilk, and vinegar. The sturdy KitchenAid mixer blended the base mixture perfectly, and then you carefully added the rich red food gel. As the batter gradually turned a vibrant shade of red, the faint sound of your phone ringing caught your attention. You reached into your pocket and pulled out your phone, revealing your favorite picture of Yelena smiling back at you. A warm smile spread across your face as you gently slid your finger across the screen to answer the call.
"Hey, Yelena," you greeted, as you put the phone on speaker.
"Hi, detka. How are you doing?" Yelena inquired.
Okay," you grumbled, exasperated. "But I swear if I have to endure that Rogers: The Musical commercial one more time, I might just have to march down there and give Cap a piece of my mind, preferably to his annoyingly flawless face.
Hmm, I’ll be sure to tell him how much you miss him," Yelena said sarcastically. She continued, "I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I left some of the pain medication that Cho prescribed for you on the counter in case your shoulder starts getting cranky. I know it’s tough with only one arm, but have you taken a moment to check your stitches today?”
Yep," you said, "I've checked, and everything seems good.
You crank the mixer to high speed to ensure the vibrant red food gel is thoroughly mixed in.
"What's that sound?" Yelena asked.
"Ah, just watching the Food Network on TV," you fibbed. You didn't want to spoil the surprise of the whoopie pies you were baking. Besides, you knew your girlfriend would kick your ass if she caught you not resting and playing baker simultaneously.
Yelena expressed hope by sharing, "I should be home in a couple of hours. Natasha promised to help me write my overdue mission report from the day you were injured so I can get out of here sooner."
"Sounds great, I've missed you," you admitted.
“I've missed you too, malyshka. Make sure to get some rest, and I'll be there soon for some cozy snuggles.
“Looking forward to it,” you said. “See you later, love.”
"Bye," she replied.
You carefully tuck your phone back into your pocket and return to the delightful task of baking. After thoroughly mixing the batter, you gracefully use an ice cream scoop to transfer it to the waiting trays before gently placing them in the preheated oven. Working on the sumptuous filling, you lovingly combine butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, marshmallow fluff, and a hint of vanilla extract. As you taste the filling, a contented smile crosses your face, and you have to exercise severe restraint to keep from devouring the entire bowl right then and there. While the round cakes are baking, you take a moment to rest on the sofa. Fanny jumps up next to you, seeking your affection and not minding that you only use one arm at the moment.
"I can't wait to see your mom's face when she sees the surprise; how about you?" You asked the dog with a grin.
Fanny charmingly tilts her head back at you.
"Sam here. Or, she might scold me in Russian for not taking a break. Either way, we can indulge in dessert," you remark before affectionately kissing her head.
After the oven timer goes off, carefully remove the pan and set it aside to cool. Despite hesitation, you adhere to Yelena's advice and change your bandages. Fortunately, it's your non-dominant arm that sustained the injury. Once you finish tending to your wound, the whoopie pies are cooled and ready to be filled. Using a spoon, you delicately spread the filling on one cake and gently place another on top, feeling satisfied as you finish assembling all the whoopie pies.
You carefully stow away the batch of eighteen luscious whoopie pies in a trusty Tupperware container and pop it in the fridge. As you settle down at the counter, glancing at the clock reminds you that time certainly flies by when you're having fun. In just 30 minutes, Yelena will be back home. At this moment, you become acutely aware of the throbbing ache in your shoulder. You reach for the prescription she had set out for you and grab a glass of water. But as you're about to gulp down the pill, you spot the fine print on the label, indicating that it's meant to be taken with food.
You slump down in your chair with a tired groan, feeling too drained to even think about finding something to eat. Perhaps Yelena was right – maybe you had overexerted yourself. But then you remember the whoopie pies. They may not be the healthiest pair for pain medication, but they are fresh. You open the refrigerator, grab one of the confections, and reach for a soda. You devour the whole thing, then wash down your painkillers with a swig of soda.
You hoped the medication would take effect before Yelena returned home. It was a fact - as an Avenger, you were great at many things, but hiding things from your world-class spy girlfriend was not one of them. You relax back onto the sofa and absentmindedly flick through your phone. Your gaze keeps drifting back to the fridge. Maybe just one more whoopie pie wouldn't hurt. You do need to keep your energy levels up. Giving in to temptation, you grab another treat and a soda before returning to the living room. Fanny's eyes are fixed on you as you savor the second dessert.
"Alright, just a tiny piece. But, let's keep it our little secret," you whispered as you ripped off a small chunk of the crimson cake and sneaked it to the pup.
As you finish up, you let out a contented sigh and run your hand down your face. The baking session was your most physical activity since your injury. Refusing to retreat to your bedroom, you opt for the cozy comfort of the sofa. Wrapped in your favorite blanket, Fanny snuggles up at your feet. After about 20 minutes, you realize the shoulder pain has almost completely disappeared. Delighted, you treat yourself to a little seated happy dance. You cue your favorite playlist and can't resist jumping to your feet when the beat drops on your favorite song. What started as a small happy dance became a full-on, one-armed dance-off with enthusiastic singing. It seems all that sugar is finally getting to your head.
You are so caught up in your sugar rush that you lose track of time. Unaware, you don't hear the jingle of keys or the opening of your front door. Suddenly, Yelena appears in the doorway, silently watching you before finally startling you with an interruption.
"Is this what you call resting?" Yelena asked with a raised eyebrow.
You leap three feet into the air before realizing there's no danger. "Yelena, you're back! Woohoo! Happy dance time!!" you exclaim as you break into a joyous dance around the room.
"What's going on? Have you been sneaking sips of my vodka?" she questioned, her eyes tracking your every move around the room.
"What? No, I just had a snack! Two snacks... Well, dessert. Oh, and sodas! See, I wanted to do something nice for you because I know you've been worried about me since my injury, and I love you, so I made red velvet whoopie pies!" You rambled excitedly.
"Calm down... you made what now?" Yelena asked, her brow furrowed with confusion.
"Red velvet whoopie pies!" you repeated excitedly. "They're these delicious soft rounds of red velvet cake with a luscious cream filling sandwiched in between." With eager anticipation, you rushed to the counter and eagerly picked one up to show her, a child-like grin spreading across your face as you marveled at the sweet treat.
Yelena stares at you blankly for a few seconds before launching into her native tongue.
Tebe polozheno otdykhat', a vmesto etogo ty provodish' ves' den', kricha! Vy s uma soshli? Vas zastrelili. Chto delat', yesli shvy razoshlis'? YA ne khochu snova okazat'sya s toboy v Med-Bey. YA znal, chto mne ne sledovalo ostavlyat' tebya odnu.
You are supposed to rest; instead, you spend all afternoon making whoopies! Are you crazy? You were shot. What if your stitches split open? I don't want to end up back in the Med Bay with you. I knew I should not have left you alone.
"Is that your way of saying, 'Wow, you're amazing sweetheart'? I'd love to try one," you questioned with a giggle from the sugar rush.
Yelena shook her head softly as she approached you. Her eyes bore into yours with concern. 'You really should be in bed,' she said gently.
"Come on, just try one for me, please," you pleaded with your best puppy dog eyes.
"If I try it, will you rest?" Yelena asked.
“Absolutely, for sure, of course, affirmative, by all means, certainly, yep, very well, okey-dokey, yes,” happily bouncing up and down on the balls of your feet.
You offer Yelena a whoopie pie. She gazes at you with curiosity, studying you from head to toe, and then takes a deliberate bite.
“Well?" You inquire with a grin.
"It's good," she conceded, wiping a bit of cream filling from the corner of her mouth. But there's this subtle smile tugging at her lips, and it's obvious that she's absolutely loving it.
"I knew you would love it!" You exclaimed, doing a little celebratory dance and raising my uninjured arm in victory.
She reluctantly admitted, "Okay, it's delicious. Sweet, just like you, Y/N."
"Whoopie! It's really cool, isn't it?" you exclaimed.
Yelena agreed, patting your cheek affectionately to regain your attention. "Yes, your little American whoopie is so cool. I'm going to hop in the shower and change. Could you do me a favor and head back to bed now, detka?
"Absolutely, I could keep doing this all day!" You playfully quipped, channeling your inner Captain America.
Yelena sighed, exasperated, and muttered, "Now I'm going to punch Cap," before turning on her heels and heading towards your bedroom.
As you start following her, you can't resist the temptation to reach for one more whoopie pie quietly.
Yelena's sharp voice cut through the room. “And no more whoopies!” she yelled, her words hanging in the air without her even turning around.
"Awww," you whimpered.
You finally make your way back to bed, feeling the exhaustion creeping in after the rush from all the sugar. Yelena, having showered and changed into comfortable sweatpants and one of your band T-shirts, joins you. She slips into bed beside you, wrapping her arms around you comfortingly.
"I'm the best baker on the team," you whispered before slipping into a peaceful slumber.
“Yes, detka, you're the best baker on the team,” Yelena humored. “Get some sleep now, whoopie.”

Part 1 of: ✧Visionary
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
"I don’t need to rest; I’m okay-"
"I know how you hate the sky people; I do as well. But you almost died, and we can’t let you go to the field yet; you still need to recover." Jake took a deep breath while cutting your words. "Just stay here and look for Tuk and the others."
"But Kiri can do that--" Once more, you tried to say you were refusing the Olo’eyktan words, but
Again Jake cuts you off, and this time he uses his command voice, "Please? Don’t make this hard on us; you’re a great warrior and a helper. But for now, stay here." He then gave you a look, telling you to accept.
You then glanced at Neytiri, but upon seeing her eyes giving you the same look, you could only look at the ground and say, "Yes, sir," with a final defeated sigh.
Not too far from where you are, four Na’vi and a human were watching your conversation with the Olo’eyktan and Tsahik, curious as to what Jake said to you that made you look so defeated.
"… Are they scolding Y/N?" Tuk asks, worriedly looking at her brothers and sister.
Before any of them could answer her, reassuring her that it wasn’t like that. But they didn't, because you arrived with those defeated eyes only to avert them on the ground. as Neteyam was about to ask you.
His father called him, announcing that it was time to patrol for the day.
"On it! Let’s go Y/N." Neteyam tried to bring you to him only to have you swift his hand away, and this made him confused.
He was about to ask you, but seeing your sad smile, he already knew the answer.
"I can’t join the patrol today; I was ordered to stay until my injury healed. Even though I tried to reason that it’s just a scratch, they still didn’t let me join." You chuckled as you said this.
"Hey at least, I’m still in patrol but instead outside it’s here where is watching Lo’ak preventing him another "trouble" You joked, bending your peace sign and saying the word "trouble" loudly.
"Haha, very funny." Lo’ak toning down how it’s not funny at all, rolling his eyes at you and indicating that he's not playing.
Seeing him act like this refreshed your memory, as he did it the same way when you two were still kids back then.
Chuckling at the memory you then sling your arms around his shoulder to which it startled him and as you smile, you said this words "And It’s been a long time since I hang out with this Skxawng" indicating not only Lo’ak but as well as Kiri, spider.
While spider chuckled watching the event in front of him, Tuk who was lost, Kiri sighing but smiled, Lo’ak after you said that rolled his eyes but flustered starting to form on his face.
As of Neteyam who pursed his lips but quickly smiled.
Neteyam then titled his head, and before he said anything, Jake called on him again.
"I will be there! and, oh, hey. After the patrol, the usual spot?"
It took you a second to understand what he meant; snapping your finger and letting out an "ah" sound indicates that you got it.
"Of course, and just so you know. Even if I have this bandage on my shoulder, I’ll still beat you at archery." You smirk already, knowing that you’ll beat him again since you won the final round.
Neteyam raised his eyebrow, smirking as well. "Will see-"
"Bro, don't turn around; Dad is about to explode." Lo’ak cutting Neteyam’s word pointing at the Na’vi behind him who’s clearly not having enough patient.
As you and the others bid him farewell, wishing him safety, so did Mr. And Ms. Sully, here you are asking them where they usually hang out, and the first to answer you was Tuk, who looks happy.
"We usually hang around in the jungle!"
"And what part of the jungle?" You asks switching to protective mode, but soon calm once Spider answered you but still, the protective mode is still there.
"Easy, Y/N, it's not far from here, and it's clearly safe, as we've been there for like many times," Spider shrugged, assuring you that it's safe.
"If you say so, but first I need to go to Mr. Norman, I have something to report."
They didn't argue about it, and as you four walked to the lab, Tuk on the side was called by Mo'at, who didn't want to go at first because she thought you'd leave her behind, to which you simply replied.
"Tuk, do not worry. I will make sure that you will be there…" Once she finally heard what you told her, you paused, first remembering some tragic memory, only to snap out of it when Tuk began to call you. Clearing your throat, you smiled at her.
"To make you believe my word, I will go fetch you myself, so go and see what Mo’at wants."
"Y/N, I always believe you." You smiled again and gently patted Tuk's hair, motioning to go see what Mo'at wanted.
Back to the present, while you were walking in front of Kiri, just behind you were Lo'ak and Spider, who were simply teasing Lo'ak about something that made Lo'ak slightly irritated.
"Bro, your too obvious you know that?" Spider chuckled as he said, nagging and annoying Lo'ak at the same time.
"Bro, the one whose obviousness is clearly him" was Lo'ak's comeback, mimicking Neteyam’s movement, to which Spider scoffed.
"Yeah right." Spider then moves closer to Lo'ak, wrapping his hands around the corner of his lips, seemingly whispering something to Lo'ak that only the two can hear. " Your face was covered in jealousy when he said the "usual spot."
"That’s just their training ground; I’ve been there."
"Whatever you say, bro," Spider thought about how unbelievable Lo'ak's gibberish is then sprinting in front of you and Kiri.
Before entering the said lab, you went into the tent first to see the avatar of the people who connected their heads to be in that avatar body. After Norm playfully hit Spider with a towel,
You only gestured how you wanted to report something. "Just go to the lab; I’ll follow." With a final nod, you continued walking, apologizing at the same time to the lady who told you all that.
"It’s for avatars only; go around!" At first, you eyed Kiri as she mimicked her, but you soon chuckled as that was a bit funny.
"Yeah, haha. Real hysterical guys. You know what really sucks though is that you can breath earth air for hours. "I can only breathe here for like 10 seconds."
"Yes, monkey boy. That’s really sucks, for you." Kiri teasing Spider who were grumbling a minute ago and just by their playful fight, you can’t help but smile at this.
"So… what do you need to report to Dr. Norm?"
"Oh, just the usual. I need to record the last event. Why?"
"Nothing, just asking."
You only shrugged your shoulder and as Norman greeted you all, it was time to tell him the report and how you will have to stay in for a week to rest and Neteyam would handle the rest of recording.
"Is that all?" Norm ask and once you nodded you began walking out of the lab going where the three was.
"Is everything fine?" You asks, as they suddenly went quiet.
"Y-yes, totally!"
"Everything’s fine here!" Spider and Lo’ak said obviously hiding something, and with a single glance at Kiri who immediately told you that it’s fine and how its time to go back.
They knew that if they brought up the topic they’re discussing a minute ago would bring you a lot of anxiety and fear what more your starting to return to your old self and they don’t want that to go back to being a cold shoulder.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
A week later.
After your bonding with Kiri, Tuk, Lo'ak, and Spider. It was time to go back to the air once again, even though Jake and Neytiri still didn’t want to, but as time passed, people from the sky began to get larger, and the three couldn’t handle it all or the warrior.
As you felt the cold breeze running through your arms and your hair following the wind, it was like you hadn’t ridden your Ikran for a whole year.
Neteyam, who was eyeing you the whole time, didn’t hide his smiling face; oh, how he missed flying with you beside him. and he won’t lie. Because at the usual spot where you and him train to shoot an arrow,
Even if he loses, for him, just seeing you smile is a win. When was the last time you smiled like that again? Now he knows what you meant when you two were little. It’s not the prize, but the quality time that you two have.
This wasn’t unnoticed by the two parents, who were clearly eyeing one another.
You all thought that this would be like a normal patrol, but when Lo’ak called through the radio to report about an unknown avatar that is clearly not of your own kind, Jake immediately asked where they were.
"We are at the old shack."
As soon as Lo’ak said those words, your ears twitched.
"Who’s we?" Jake asks.
"Me, Spider, Kiri… Tuk." There was a long pause, but when Lo’ak said the last Na’vi, you and Neteyam exchanged gazes, and worry was now plastered on both faces.
"Son, you listen to me very carefully. Pull back right now. Do not make a sound. Get the hell out of there. Move. Copy?"
"Yes sir, moving out."
"I know a good way, sir!" You exclaimed, nagging your head, motioning for them to follow you, and when your gaze fell on Neteyam, you only nodded.
He quickly moved aside, allowing you to come through first before following behind. In that time, the only thing on your mind is to arrive in time before this unknown avatar does something that you don’t want to imagine.
‘Hang in there’
As you land your Ikran safely, followed by Jake, Neytiri, and Neteyam. You were about to follow the couple, only for them to stop you and Neteyam.
"You two stay here with the Ikrans." Jake ordered.
"Dad, we’re warriors like you; we're supposed to fight."
"This is what we trained for-" You followed, clearly wanting to help, but Neytiri only called your name, giving you a sidelong glance and shaking her head.
"I won’t say it again."
With Jake's final order, you and him only agreed, but as soon as the couple walked away, Neteyam glanced back at them, and with that look, you clearly knew what was inside his mind.
Even though the Na’vi and people your saving is not blood related to you but being with them for almost your whole life.
"What do you say, just like we practice?" You said nagging Neteyam, and with just a smile from you, he already knew what you meant.
"Let’s do it."
Said otherwise.
While Jake and Neytiri had already killed half of the scouts here, you and Neteyam, gesturing with your hands for him to take the right wing while you took the left, carefully took your route, and you carefully climbed the tree.
Resting your back against the tree branch, you calmed your now beating heart as you glanced at the ground not too far from where the fake avatar was. You were about to shoot the avatar with a machine gun, but your mind quickly flashed back to the bad memory you had.
Fear and anxiety began to creep into your body, but they quickly vanished when you saw the next scene—the one you had only dreamed of not happening—showing up in front of you.
Like in slow motion, Neteyam was about to shoot another arrow after killing an avatar to save his mother when the machine gun pointed at him, and when it started shooting, you wanted to thank Jake as he saved him.
Without delaying anymore, you draw your bow and strike the avatar on the head and as it drop down on the ground you quickly jump away from your spot as some bullets are now redirecting to you.
"Another one! From behind!" One avatar screamed.
Cursing as you flee, you quickly dive on the side dodging every bullet but even if your in the bridge of dead here, in your mind. They’re all safe, and that's all that matters. True, Jake and Neteyam escaped safely, and thanks to your arrow for killing the avatar.
However, as soon as they heard that one avatar's scream and the continuation of a gunshot, their hearts began to race.
"We’ve got to go back. Y/N is in danger!"
"No, we can’t!"
"What? What do you mean-"
"Neteyam, we can’t just go back! It’s too dangerous!"
Neteyam tried to pass his dad, but Jake simply dragged him away, running away before the enemy spotted them, even though he was trashing away, screaming your name, asking once again to Jake to save you.
At that point, all Jake could do was run as far as he could. Because in his mind, even if his guilt is now eating him up, if he loses another one, he can’t stand that; he doesn’t want to lose anymore, so those are his mates.
The next thing they heard once they were far away was a loud booming sound, and just hearing that made the two of them face a dreadful feeling.
"No, No! Y/N!" Neteyam cried, tears dripping on his checks, fear and hurt visible in his eyes. Jake, on the other hand, only bit his lips and continued to run away.
Back at the previous spot, Miles Quaritch shot the bomb gun, aiming at Neytiri, who smoothly dodged it, and even if he tried again, he still missed, or so he thought when he searched the whole area, finding the boy from before.
Spider who was breathing badly because of lack of oxygen as the mask has broken due to falling off the tree, Quaritch didn’t think and immediately took spider with him.
"What about the other Na'vi?"
Quaritch thought first, and even if they shot her, by now she would be dead from bleeding. "She would be dead anyway. Fall back!"
As the blue team walked away from where they had taken Spider, not far behind them, at where the big tree stood, hid a Na'vi girl, covering her bleeding leg, cursing the pain and them for taking Spider away.
Once they took off, you began to let out a big exhale that you didn’t know you were holding. You tried to stand up, but because of the pain, you immediately fell down.
"Fuck," you thought, watching the blood gushing out, knowing that if you didn't move quickly, you'd die of bleeding.
With your last strength, you quickly rip off a tree leaf, using it as a bandage. You thanked Eywa for creating this leaf because it stopped your bleeding, but it’s not enough.
Even so, this gave you a lot of time to call your Ikran.
Back to Jake: after Quaritch and his team fly away, taking Spider with them, the family can finally breathe, but seeing Kiri and Neteyam's silent, tearful looks,
"Where’s spider?" Lo’ak asks.
"They took him, they took him." While Jake was attempting to console Kiri, she kept crying.
"W-where’s Y/N?" Lo'ak, who finally noticed your absence, asked Neteyam, who averted his gaze.
Neytiri also noticed it, asking, "Where is Y/N? Jake? Neteyam?"
Jake and Neteyam's silent looks and averted gazes were the only responses they received. "No, no." Neytiri began to flabbergast, expressing her fear and hurt, even if you were not her daughter.
She already treats you as one; Lo'ak, on the other hand, can only stare blankly ahead as if he's been turned off.
But upon hearing that familiar shriek they quickly look up at first they thought Quaritch has gone back but seeing that familiar Ikran and it’s vabriant (C/I) - color of Ikran.
They knew who this Ikran owner is, and without thinking as the Ikran land in front of them. Lo’ak was about to sprint to you, but Neteyam beat him to it, and when he held you in his arm, he carefully set you down.
Neteyam then quickly hugged you, phrasing the word in his mind and repeating the word "thank you, great mother," as soon as the couple saw you. Neytiri immediately went to your side, seeing your bleeding legs.
Bruised skin and clothes are almost tearing apart. She can’t help but scold you: "What were you two thinking?!"
"I-I’m sorry, ma’am-" you tried to say, but Neytiri only hushed you and quickly scooped you from Neteyam’s arms.
"We should go back and patch you quickly." Jake didn't even finish before Neytiri called for her Ikran and left with you in her arms. Beforehand, she told her family that she would go first.
As the bleeding is starting to get worse. In her mind, the only thing she could think of was, "Not again’ as the event in front of her was like the time when she couldn't save her sister.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
Back at home,
while you're resting inside Mo'at's shack after getting patched up. The sully kids looked worried when they saw your sleeping form.
Mo’at can’t help but sigh while watching her grandchildren's expressions. What's more, Neteyam didn’t want to leave your side and was always holding your hand, waiting for you to wake up.
It's been two days since the incident, and until now, you've been sleeping.
"Children go home and rest." I’ll look out for Y/N, especially you, Neteyam... you’ve been here since the beginning."
"I’m fine, grandma-"
But Mo’at only shook her head, pushing him away and gesturing for him to go already.
"Don’t worry, Y/N is strong," Tuk assured, trying to make Neteyam feel better.
When they return home, Tuk hears her parents' voices that sound like they are fighting, and she immediately crotches down, wanting to see what her parents are fighting for.
Same as Kiri, who gestured to the two Na’vi boys to keep quiet.
"I cannot; you cannot ask this." Neytiri calmly said, getting the bag on the corner wanting to get some more medicine for you.
Jake watching his mate act like this, even though it happen before but this time it’s more than before.
"I cannot leave my people. I will not." Neytiri continued to get up and go to where you are. But Jake stopped her from leaving; his hands are now on her wrist.
"He’s hunting us. He’s targeting our family... He already targeted Y/N; do you want it to happen again?"
"No! And even if he hunts us again, I will kill him the same way I did back then! My Jake. you can not ask this. The children and everything they’ve ever known—the forest. This is our home!"
Even if Jake is feeling fear right now, he needs to stay strong for his family. "He had our children; he had them under his knife; he almost successfully killed Y/N." Jake whispered loudly, pointing this out to Neytiri.
Lo'ak knows what his parents are feeling right now. He just wanted to kill this Quaritch, as they mentioned, and he felt guilty as he didn’t do anything at that point, only escaping from the enemy's grasp.
Neteyam also felt the same; if only he were strong enough, none of this would happen. You wouldn't be unconscious right now.
"But I know one thing: Wherever we go, this family is our fortress," Jake said, calming and reassuring Neytiri. At that point, all she can do is accept it.
A week later, while Jake was talking to Mo’at about their plan and the replacement for him, Neytiri and her children were packing to leave the fortress, even if it was painful for her. She must do so for the sake of her family.
"No, you rest. We can do this." Lo’ak said taking the bag from your hand.
After gaining your consciousness and learning how you will leave the forest, it saddens you. You first tell Jake and Neytiri that you will stay behind, as someone needs to look out for the clan, and as a member of the clan, it is your duty to do so.
As your purpose on the first place is to destroy every sky people and until now, you only did half of one percents.
"Y/N, you need to understand... You're not in the state to fight. Your legs almost gave up on you, but Norm and Max did their best to prevent that. If you fight more,... " Jake paused first, sighing deeply. "Your whole body will give up on you."
It was devastating for you; with all the training and hard work you put in, it all went to nothing. As the bullet they shot you has damaged some tissues and bones, it will take a month or so to recover.
Glancing down at your hand, you annoyingly clicked your tongue while clinching the cane. Norm and Max recommended it as you had begun to limp when you walked, and it will only go back to normal after it has fully healed.
"It’s okay, I can do it." You said that, but Lo'ak just looked at you, telling you not to be stubborn.
"Just sit here; we'll do the rest." Kiri appears, hand on your shoulder, directing you to a seat near the entrance.
You feel like a burden to them as you watch them pack the things they need to bring with your belongings in them; furthermore, you blame yourself for not being strong enough and for thinking of causing this.
"hey, you okay?" Glancing at Kiri, you displayed an assuring smile as you caused enough worry for them.
"Yes, I'm fine; what about you? How are you coping?"
"Still frightened, afraid to what they will do to spider, a-and… I thought we lost you." Kiri said tears were starting to build up, but once you hugged her, you murmured to her how you were still there and alive.
Making up some joke about how you gain another weapon, which is the cane beside you, and once you heard her chuckling voice,
Followed by a speech telling you how it would be effective to poke the enemy's eyes, you returned the laugh, but behind it, the guilt in your heart is still there.
At the end of the week, Tarsem was chosen as the next Olo’eyktan instead of Neteyam, who was supposed to be the next leader, but because of the sudden change, it changed.
Lo'ak and Neteyam were ready to catch you as you attempted to get on your Ikran, falling but quickly regaining your balance.
Neteyam and Lo'ak exchange a brief glance before averting their gaze, and soon began riding on their own.
Kiri, seeing everything, can't help but sigh, chuckling at these two Skxawng.
As you all took off, flying your ikrans through the sky, you couldn't help but look back at your former home, remembering all the good and bad memories you'd made there, and you could only hold your tears back and look in front of you.
If you ever go back, your only wish is that you'll be stronger than before.

Lightsabers
Pairing: Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier x Original Character, Platonic!Thor x Original Character
Summary: Max returns from a brutal mission and spends the day recovering with her favorite Avengers.
Warnings: Mild starvation, injuries
Word Count: 4,393
Bucky-
The tower had gone quiet ever since Max and I had returned from that mission. I mean silence in the sense that there were less team meetings, less social gatherings, and no joint training sessions. The air was practically electric whenever she was mentioned, like they all thought either of us would snap at the drop of a hat. I hadn't seen her since the training match. I had been angry about everything, and I didn't mean to take it out on her. She was just there. I had so many mixed emotions about that night, mainly betrayal. I was bitter and apparently that made me violent.
We had been avoiding each other, that much was obvious. So, it caught me off guard when she had stumbled away from my door this morning after seeing Natasha and I. Natasha had come to the floor to find Steve who happened to be elsewhere probably doing paperwork. The two of us had made up after the whole incident but he had gotten significantly busier with mission work and hunting down Hydra leads. When Natasha had come knocking, I knew that she was looking for him, so I had told her he wasn't on the floor. I let her inside because she seemed upset, thought maybe I could help her out in Steve's place since her and I were on decent terms.
I was very wrong. Natasha was emotional, more than I had ever seen her. She was a great spy, one who ruled over herself well and held her composure perfectly. Most of all, she was angry. The kind of angry that makes people do stupid things.
I had tried to console her some, offering her a seat on the only chair in the room I hadn't wrecked during a bad episode of nightmares, and asking if there was anything I could do to help her. She had gotten up and kissed me then, hard and needing. I had let her, only for a moment, while I processed what was happening. But it was enough for Max to see. I hadn't even heard her approach or realized I hadn't shut the door all the way. I had shoved Natasha away moments later as the guilt oozed into my stomach like lead.
Max and I were never official, and I felt very betrayed by recent events, but that didn't stop my feelings for her. Nor did it stop the aching feeling every time she entered my line of sight. I was drawn to her no matter what I did, it was cosmic and torturous. I had told Natasha to leave right after picking the neatly stacked clothes off the floor. She had given me a look of disappointment and hurt before she marched herself out the door. I knew she was hurting for some reason, but I couldn't- didn't want to- give her what she wanted.
The next morning, Tony had given me a mission. I was to join Steve in a scout jet to observe a reportedly active Hydra post. It was simple, observe the activity and report back. The two of us set off at dawn and flew several hours into a forest somewhere cold. Hydra always liked the cold.
We flew low enough to peer over the small group of buildings that were far too old and crumbled to be used by any sane man. Steve and I circled several times before landing a good distance away and making our way to the edge of the trees as far as we were willing to go and watched for an hour or so more.
Steve muttered beside me, "I haven't seen a single person since we got here." A pair of binoculars were secured against his face as he scanned the area for the fiftieth time.
I shook my head, "Me neither, the place is dead." There weren't even any tracks in the dirt to tell of recent visitors.
"We should head back soon and write our reports, I haven't had a decent sleep in a few days." He pulled his binoculars down, "How have you been?"
I had been dreading the question, not sure of the answer myself. "I've been better. The nightmares are back, but I'm doing alright." That was a lie, the truth was painted in purple under my eyes.
Steve only nodded as he studied my face, "Do you miss her?"
I frowned, hating the ache that followed his question. In truth, I did miss her. She was kind to me, understood me. But she had lied and hurt. Killed. I couldn't miss her. "No."
He didn't believe me, I knew it, but he allowed it to slide. "Let's pack up and head back to the tower."
He moved to put away his binoculars in the duffle bag besides us and I followed his motions as my mind wandered. We were both silent on the flight back, focusing instead on the surroundings just in case we missed any telltale signs of life. I took the controls and offered Steve an opportunity for a nap that he was in desperate need for. After that I was left alone, vulnerable to my mind once more.
I thought about the way Max had looked when I had seen her the other day, how pained her face looked seeing me kissing another girl. It was wrong, it felt wrong, for it to be anyone other than her. Her face haunted me in my dreams, cried for me in my nightmares, and followed me in my memories. I couldn't escape her no matter what I did.
But I couldn't forget what she had done. Max had killed innocent people, massacred them without a second thought when she had a choice not to. That, I couldn't forgive.
The tower came into sight on the horizon, the shimmering glass windows catching the rays of the pink sun as it sank beneath the earth. I gripped the steering wheel and descended to the landing mat as smoothly as I could. My legs ached as I rose from the seat and woke Steve who groaned at his stiff muscles too. We waited as the hatch fell open, easing our tired bodies down the ramp and onto the concrete.
A hum sounded in the distance and the two of us turned, watching as the jet-black body of a solo jet descended from the cloud cover. It landed next to ours, hitting us with the strong winds off the propellors. The engine cut and the noise crackled to a stop. Bullet holes littered both sides of the jet and the paint cracked to reveal the steel frame. It was a wonder that it made it back in one piece. The back hatch practically fell to the floor with a clang, opening the inside of the jet and allowing whoever was inside to stumble out onto the landing deck.
Blood covered them from head to toe, not an inch of them was free of red stains. Their hair clung to their forehead in sticky strands of crimson and their hand gripped their side where blood oozed from between their fingers. I couldn't make out their face, the red smears hiding their features from me. Steve and I could only watch as they began peeling the top of their suit down, examining the damage on their side before pressing their palm back to it. It was a woman, that much was obvious from the sports bra clinging to her frame.
Someone called to her from across the room and her name echoed in my head and sank to my gut like a dead weight.
"Max!" It was Thor in all his godly glory, trucking his way towards her.
Suddenly she became a little clearer, her scars catching the light of the sun as she turned towards the god. The way she held herself was different, defensive. She looked every bit as wild as she did the first day we met. Maybe a little more.
Thor had made it to her now, slinging his arm around her unharmed side and holding her weight up against him. "What happened?"
She shrugged with a wince, "Some prick agent decided to shoot a shotgun at close range."
"Why aren't you healing?" The panic in his voice was familiar to me.
She simply shook her head and gripped her side even harder, "Just don't have the energy to right now. Do me a favor and get me to the med wing, I don't know how much longer I can hold this together."
Thor rushed her away then, leaving Steve and I dumbstruck on the landing bay. I couldn't get the image of his hand around her waist out of my head, or the way she looked at him. Like she cared about him.
A hand on my shoulder had me turning my head. "Hey, you alright Buck?"
I nodded, "Yeah, I'm good."
Steve looked at me for a long moment. "You told me yourself she was bad news. She killed a whole town. She shouldn't even be here. I don't know why we haven't handed her over to the government yet."
I juggled Steve's words around my mind, picturing Max in a prison cell somewhere isolated. I don't think there was a place on this earth that could keep her contained, not if she wanted something. She was too strong, too smart to be contained so easily by some measly metal bars and insufficiently trained guards. No, she wouldn't be able to be kept in a cell. Not even Hydra could keep her caged without freezing the blood in her veins and stopping her heart. "They wouldn't be able to hold her without killing her."
Steve shrugged, "You're probably right."
There was an underlying meaning to his words that had my eyes snapping to his face as he studied the door where Max and Thor had disappeared behind. "You can't want her dead, she's bad and messed up, but she doesn't deserve to die because of it. It isn't her fault."
Steve turned to me and pursed his lips, "You still defend her even after what she's done."
I frowned, tugging my brows together and staring him down. I didn't have anything else to say on the topic, so I sighed, turning away from him, "I have training to do. You can come with me or not."
I left him with that as I trailed my way to the training room.
_____
Max-
Thor's arm remained wrapped around my shoulders to lift most of my weight as he hurried the both of us into the med bay, practically lifting me onto the table all on his own. The medical team immediately got to work peeling away my uniform to get a better view of all my injuries. I knew it was bad, especially my side. My concern increased the moment I realized how sluggishly my healing abilities were working, a clear sign of my lack of energy. I knew I had been skipping a couple of meals here and there because of my fleeting appetite and stress of recent weeks, but I hadn't realized just how much I was abusing my body. How weak I had truly gotten.
"Max," Thor's voice pulled my attention towards were he stood at the edge of the table, his hand gripping mine. "Tell me what happened on the mission."
A nurse shuffled between us as she worked on sticking and IV in my arm while the rest of them bustled around my body to tend to the small lacerations littering my skin. I groaned as one of them applied alcohol to the wound on my side, shooting pains outwards from the wound. "I was ambushed on the mission and things went to shit from there. I decided that it was going to be harder to get out of there than it would be to take it out, so I did just that. It was easy after I broke into their ammunition. Like baiting flies, just kept coming in." I winced once more as the nurse on the IV decided to slather some ointment over my side. The numbness that followed was greatly appreciated though.
Thor's rough hand squeezed mine as he watched the nurse's work. "How many meals have you missed to make healing this slow?"
Ah, the golden question. I gave a forced smile, "A few."
I watched the god's face fall, "Max."
"I know, I know." Another wince as finally, finally, the IV kicked in and I leaned my head to the side just enough to watch the hole in my side begin to close. "I will eat as soon as I'm out of here."
He didn't say anything else as he stood there watching the nurses work and holding onto my hand. I was honestly grateful for his presence. I was terrified when the shot had gone off, drowned in the sudden noise and pain. It was all I could do to take the agent down and drag my half alive corpse back to the jet. I had put just enough pressure on it to hold myself together to make the trip back and the last of my energy to exit the hangar of the jet. Seeing him there, rushing to my aid, was a relief I didn't know I needed.
I found his eyes again, a genuine smile forming on my lips as I did my best to squeeze his hand. "Thanks for being here."
He nodded, smiling only for a moment before he echoed the same reply, he had a few nights before. "Of course."
It took around an hour and a half for my healing to have gotten to a manageable level, the gash in my side was healed for the most part and only a scab remained while the rest of my wounds would heal in a day or so. They had fed me while I was lying on the table, as well as dripped the IV of whatever was in it into me which seemed to help too. I had walked out of the med bay all on my own with Thor right behind me.
The God of Thunder spoke up, "I think you should use the rest of today to rest and regain your energy."
I nodded, "Yeah, that's probably a good idea. I'll read or something to keep from walking around too much, maybe watch a movie all these young people are talking about." I cringed, "That whole sentence made me sound old."
Thor let out a howl of laughter behind me, easily matching my stride and bumping his shoulder with mine. "Mind if I join you? I have a few hours before I have to go to a meeting with Tony."
I nodded eagerly, "I would love that. You and I can be equally as confused together." I joined in with his laughter this time, "It'll cost you though, Thunder Boy. I want half a package of those wonderful strawberry pop tarts you stash from the team."
He gaped at me, "How did you know about those?"
I gave him a wink as we both slipped into the elevator. "Well, it's hard not to notice all the crunching and shuffling at 3 A.M. when everyone is asleep. I saw you put them on the top shelf of the cupboard above the fridge."
The blonde groaned, shaking his head. "I suppose I could spare one for such a lovely lady."
I felt the creeping blush on my neck as I shoved him out of the elevator and onto the main floor. The main living space had the largest TV and almost all of the team would be busy today, so I had deemed it safe to traverse the level. I had watched Tony work the TV before, so I simply copied his actions from memory and had us flicking through his demand options in no time.
Thor seated himself in the middle of the couch, selfishly taking up most of the space with a wide grin. He had snagged his box of pop tarts from their hiding place and began tearing open a package as I dimmed the lights. We had yet to choose a movie when the door of the elevator chimed and called our attention.
Brown hair and wide chocolate eyes met us with matching surprise before a smile broke across his face, "Hey guys! I didn't think anyone would be in the tower today. It's nice to see you guys again! I heard you got really hurt today Max, are you alright?"
Peter sped up his approach and slung his bag onto the chair to our left and hopped over the couch to stand in front of us both. I returned his smile and lifted my shirt to show off my battle wound, "Shotgun at close range. I'm on the mend though, so no worries."
His wide eyes nearly fell out of his head as he blinked at me, "That's insane! How did you live through that?"
I shrugged, "I really lucked out honestly."
Thor cleared his throat from his seat on the couch, brushing crumbs from his shirt. "Max is very strong. She took it like a true warrior and got herself home. It was fortunate that she can heal so well though, it would be a devastation to the team if we were to lose her."
I felt a lick of guilt at his words but shook it off to turn back to Peter. "We were just about to choose a movie for us to enjoy, know any good ones?"
Peter practically beamed, "I have the perfect one."
_____
"You don't have to do this, Max." Thor's voice quaked in fear as he stood between Peter and I in the living area, hands outstretched in a calming manner. "There is a better choice."
I shook my head, leveling my gaze on Peter just across the rug, fingers splayed at my side and ready to pounce. "There is no other way, only the Dark side. Join me, Peter, and we can conquer together." I grinned as I finished my statement, outstretching my palm to the teen and flashing my teeth.
Peter's face was filled with grief, but he stood tall. "No, but it isn't too late for you to change."
I simply shook my head, allowing my hair to fall over my eyes as I laughed bitterly. "Then you will die."
The two of us sprang into action, sliding our hands over the waistbands of our pants and slinging out the plastic devices I had been entranced with for the past six hours of our movie session. The bright red beam of plastic glided out of the hilt as I pressed the red button against the black handle, the 'bzzshoom' of both our sabers echoed in the room.
And the battle began.
Plastic clashed against plastic as the two of us let out a battle cry, taking to the floor and slinging out our palms. Peter flung himself backwards on the chair and parried my attack, shoving the air with his hand as I myself fell back onto the floor with a thud.
"You will never win, Peter!" I scurried to my feet, holding my lightsaber out in front of me threateningly. I made sure to waver in my step to play the part of the falling villain.
Peter couldn't help but release a laugh as Thor slapped his hands on his cheeks and gaped at us in fake horror. I snorted, dropping my saber to double over in laughter. The two boys mirrored my actions, falling against the couch and the chair as they gasped for breath and our laughter filled the room.
Peter had picked the movie for the night-- or rather several movies-- which I could now deem my favorites of all time.
Star Wars.
He had slung to his house on one of our breaks between disks and returned with the mock lightsabers to challenge me in a battle. Thor was all too excited to play Obi Wan, although his acting was not even close to on character. I had decided that Peter was one of my new favorite people of all time while he grinned at me as we all caught our breath.
Just as we thought it was over, the elevator door chimed, and the lights flickered. All of our heads snapped to the small hallway shrouded in darkness. A clear hissing emanated from the end in soft slow intervals almost like...
A figure appeared at the end of the hall and stood tall, arms out to their side. Suddenly, a blinding red light slid out of his hand and two glowing eyes peered at us. The hissing continued as they finally stepped out of the darkness, and it took everything in me not to fall into another fit of laugher.
"Peter," the voice of none other than Tony mumbled from behind his Ironman mask, "I am your father."
The common room erupted in shouts of joy as we all cackled at the bed sheet cocooning his head like a cape and his own red saber at his side. The top of the mask slid up to reveal Tony's joyful face as he joined us.
I don't think I had been this happy in a long, long time. I took the time to admire all of their faces, memorizing the smiles they shared and the light in their eyes. They were my family whether they knew it or not, even Peter had worked his way into my heart. I wanted to burn this moment into my memory for the rest of my life, never to forget the light in this world as I battled all the bad just like those in the ridiculous movies.
Tony shook his head as the ruckus died down, "You kids need to head to bed soon. It is way past your bedtime." He sent a look to Peter specifically and I snickered only to receive a pillow to the face from him.
I pouted, "Rude little bug."
Peter rolled his eyes but we both couldn't help the smiles that followed. "Goodnight you guys, I'll see you later."
"Night, Pete."
"Goodnight, young Peter!"
I gave him a little wave as he slung his bag over his shoulder, "Bye, Parker."
Tony waited until he left to turn to the God of Thunder laid out on the couch. "You missed our meeting." A trimmed brow rose in accusation as the god shrunk away sheepishly.
"I got caught up with young Peter and lovely Max, I am sorry Tony." Thor stood from the couch, "Let's talk now."
Tony nodded towards the elevator but stayed behind as Thor left the room and the elevator chimed behind him. "It's good to see you happy again, Snowflake."
I gave him a soft smile, setting the lightsaber down on the sofa. "I like Peter, he's funny and very smart. Thor keeps me company and makes the tower a little less lonely for me too."
He nodded, still smiling. "I'm glad you're doing better." Tony took a few steps and slung his arms around my shoulders and scrubbed his knuckles into my hair. "You changed your hair and started wearing all these different clothes, I hardly recognized you. Then you went on that mission and came back with a piece of you missing! You better take better care of yourself, kid."
I shoved gently at his arms and laughed, "I will! I'm sorry!"
He released me with a pat on my shoulder, "Come visit the labs sometime so we can catch up, okay? I miss having someone intellectual to talk to."
I simply shook my head as he swaggered towards the elevator, "Whatever you say, Tony. I'll make time for a visit soon."
"Good," he tilted his head over his shoulder, "I'll see you soon then."
I felt light, elated with the events of the day even after the mission. Today had been a grand day.
I shut the TV off and returned the remote where I had found it, removing the movie and humming as I moved around the room to clean up the mess we had made. I collected Thor's pop tart wrappers and set the lightsaber Peter had left on the table for him to find the next time he was here and headed towards the kitchen to throw out the trash. Still humming, I dumped the wrappers in the trash and turned back around with the intent to leave only to halt as the distinct outline of a certain soldier stood in the middle of the living room with his eyes locked on my own.
Just like that, my happiness was sucked out of my lungs.
The two of us just stared at each other for a while, taking in each other's appearance. He was in a white T-shirt and sweats, disheveled hair and wide blue eyes.
I didn't look much better as I stood stock still in my cropped tank top and leggings, mouth agape. I hadn't even heard the elevator.
He seemed to break whatever trance held us both with a loud swallow, averting his eyes to the ground and scratching the back of his head with his metal arm. I curled my fingers only to release them with a slow breath. Neither of us spoke, simply standing there in suffocating silence.
I made a move to leave, stepping widely to the side before shifting myself around him in just a few steps. He didn't move as I shuffled past, only shivered as the air brushed his arm. I had nearly made it to the elevator door before his voice caught my ears. "Are you alright? From the mission, I mean."
I felt my shoulders tense and the dull ache in my side rear itself in the front of my mind. I let a breath filter through my nose once more to calm the pounding of my heart. "Yeah. Just fine."
I didn't give him another opportunity to talk as I stabbed the up button on the elevator with my fingernail. I stepped through the steel doors and let the metal box carry me back to the safety of my room before I allowed the nerves to shake my body and my breath to rattle unevenly in my lungs.

A safe haven amidst the raging storm // Six-Eared Macaque x reader
Tumblr media
You were walking around, headphones pulled over your ears to try and provoke some sort of inspiration for your work-in-progress story that you worked on in between your work hours. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw someone that you recognized from a city-wide incident a while ago perched in a tree and munching on some over-ripe mango or some kind of fruit. He seemed to not have a care in the world and happily napped on a sturdy branch. You figured it wouldn’t hurt to say hi, if he left then you’d respect that but after seeing him at random intervals you wanted to get to know him more.
Walking over to the big oak tree, you stopped in front of him and looked up (part of you whisper yelled at yourself what the fuck you were doing). “Hi Macaque! How are you?” His eyes gave you a once over before taking another bite of fruit before smirking. "Huh, you know my name! Not even many mortals know it, usually you're all screaming my name, or some kind of expletive." He chuckles, the sound deep and full.
He smiles at you, bowing as he does, and when he tilts his face to the side, for a second you could see six glowing multicolored ears. "I'm wonderful…how are you?" He asks, standing up straight and turning to face you properly, his tail twitches from behind him. You could tell that he didn’t fully let his guard down whatsoever which was fair and kept his eyes on you, quickly surveying the area around you and quirking up his eyebrow.
“Of course, I know your name. You're the Six-Eared Macaque, you're pretty well known and if you wanted to hurt me something tells me you would've done so already.” Macaque stared thoughtfully for a moment before nodding silently and agreeing with you. He finished off the rest of the mango and tossed it into a small hole next to the base of the tree, shifting his body so he could see you better. Your expression turned sour a bit upon remembering the days earlier events and sighing in mental exhaustion.
“As for the latter, I could be better. I had a nocturnal seizure this morning and I'm still recovering.” He cocks his head. He's quiet for a few seconds, then speaks. "Sorry to hear that." His voice is softer than his usual one. "You gonna be okay?" He asks, his tail twitching. The shadow demon's never shown this much emotion, or any emotion, for that matter in front of any mortal. You could tell he didn’t completely understand what a seizure was but he knew it wasn’t good and you could appreciate someone for once not asking a million questions about your disorder. “I'll be okay....probably. I have epilepsy so I'll have seizures for the rest of my life so it's a disability but I'm still able to do awesome things!”
For everything that had happened at the end of last year’s semester, a lot of good has come of it like new friends who also had seizure disorders and you now had great excuses as to why you were late or couldn’t work (which you totally wouldn’t abuse). At the mention of your mysterious skills, Macaque perked up and swung upside down using his tail to anchor himself to the thick branch he was sitting on. "Awesome things, like?" He asks curiously. He's genuinely curious, though he's trying to hide it. His tail twitches a little more, and he moves a little closer.
Blushing slightly as you thought of what to tell him and internally debating over being entirely truthful or telling a white lie to save your pride. You turned around and leaned your back against the tree so you were looking out onto the horizon slightly, spotting some dark gray clouds but hopefully nothing too bad. “Singing, writing, aerial arts, and playing my guitar! Just some stuff. I'm not athletic but I am more artistically inclined.”
That couldn’t be truer since you’d rather play songs till your fingers went numb rather than be able to run a marathon and you had no intention of being ashamed of your opinion. He smiles. "Impressive! I like it. You know, I can't dance, can't sing, can't do any of that art stuff you were just talking about." He laughs, a deep and thundering chuckle. "So I respect the hell out of anyone who can."
Yeah right, you’d heard whispers of a theater performance being performed by a certain demon with impressive and shadowy powers which gave you an idea of who it was. A few days after you’d moved here and asked some people for fun places to visit, they spoke of a nearby center that hosted plays or passing art performances of all genres that currently hosted a curious newcomer that had a velvet like voice.
“I can't dance either, I'm terrible at it. Also, don't you perform fantastic shadow plays? I bet you have an amazing singing voice as well.” To say that it hadn’t entered your mind would be a lie and the thought of him singing Feeling Good by Micheal Bublé was now being pushed down into a vault that you’d never open again-
"Oh, you're just buttering me up!" He playfully nudges you with his elbow, his tail wagging happily and now back upward. You were jolted out of your thoughts by Macaque again and looked up at him softly chuckling before a soft smile crawled up on his face. "But I appreciate it, thank you. You have such a sweet disposition, I bet you could charm the pants off of anyone you want."
It did seem like you were trying to sweet talk him but that wasn’t your intention at all and seemed like you’d hit a wall in terms of trust and genuine praise. There was just something that made it seem like he was amused but kept himself at a distance from others. “I'm not trying to charm anyone. I'm just speaking the truth but thanks!” You hoped that maybe you could make a dent in that wall and be close to him since you didn’t know many others.
"Well, you got me charmed." He teases, grinning. He turns a little serious. "Well, if you ever need anything, let me know. I'll help. I owe you that, at least." He offers you his hand and you shake it. Happy to see a joyful expression on his face and matching one with your own.
“I'm honored. Any plans for today?” You jokingly bowed and lowered your head in a dramatic fashion, hearing a laugh come from you both. Since it looks like a storm was going to roll in you’d have to change your plans and head back home sooner than you thought.
Macaque smiles, a genuine smile, which for him usually just means a softer scowl, however it appears more funny to you than it should. He just looked so fluffy but you had a feeling you should keep it to yourself.  "No plans in particular, but I'll probably find something, you know how I am." He lets go of your hand, his tail still wagging (still so cute). "You? Got anything on your agenda?"
“I can guess, you seem resourceful.” A light breeze blew through both of you and in reaction his fur bristled or at least it might have been the wind. “I have to finish writing a story I started and I took a walk to try to get inspiration, which I did! Hopefully, the storm tonight won't be too bad so I can get a good chunk of it.”
"Oh, what's the story about?" He looks genuinely curious, his tail still wagging. It's unusual for him to show this much interest in someone according to the few times you’ve seen him.  "And yeah, this storm's supposed to be real bad."
Well so much for being productive, you might have to be sure your house doesn’t flood or your roommate will have your head. “Hm, in that case I'll try to hunker down for the evening to stay safe.” Both of you looked toward the ever growing storm and could see rain in the distance covering the outskirts of the city like a mist. “And the story?”
How could you phrase your plot so it was easily understandable without losing the fun and adventure? You hummed to yourself and looked up at the branches blooming with leaves. “The story’s about a poet who's been absent from society for a long time and trying to find themselves while adjusting to modern-day life.....” As you ramble on about your book, he quietly listens and wonders how you’d feel about his own tales.
"Sounds interesting! When you get it done, let me know, I'd be happy to read it." You can see that it takes a noticeable bit of effort for him to smile genuinely at you but it was nice to see a little chip in the wall. Baby steps. Thunder boomed in the distance and you were concerned if he had a place to stay. “Do you have a place to stay safe from the storm? I wouldn't want you to get hurt if I can help in any way.”
The way he flinched whenever thunder reigned down, guessing it was because of his sensitive hearing and having six ears. Speaking of, you were very interested in what he looked like without magic masking what he wanted to hide. You looked closer at the red mask coloring his face and at his gold irises that reflected your surroundings, curling his lips into a smug grin as he caught your staring. "And I've got plenty of places to ride out the storm. How about you? You got a safe spot to stay?"
Macaque didn’t know you too well but in the short time had grown fond of you, not to mention anyone would be concerned if someone they knew were left out in a storm. Since you were relatively new, it didn’t hurt to ask and provide shelter to a new spark in the otherwise dim city. You brightened up and zipped up your jacket when a gust of hot wind came through, almost like a warning sign of the upcoming weather.
“Oh good I'm glad you have a place. I should have somewhere if my roommate doesn't lock me out but I can always hide out in a nearby store until it dies down.” Ever since you got here, your roommate was very cautious of the weather and anything that could cause damage to your cottage. He shakes his head, sighing. "I don't understand how people can be so cruel, to just lock someone out in bad weather." He scowls, his tail lowering. "If you get locked out, come to me, yeah? I'll help you out."
You nodded and smiled, thankful for a safe backup plan and a new friend. A cold drop of rain hit your face and another and another before it was sprinkling. Looks like it was time to get home before you were soaked, pulling the hood of your coat over your head and running off as you called back to the celestial primate. Thank you! I will! Get home safe!”
It only took about 15 minutes to get home and you could see your home in the distance. Later as the storm rolls in and raindrops are starting to fall on you running home. By now thunder loudly rumbles right on top of you as you jiggle the doorknob only for it to stay locked.
“Fuck! Please, please. Don’t do this! Fuck.” The door to your house was still locked and doesn’t seem to be opening any time soon. By now the storm had started in full force and you were deserted outside in a dangerous storm, the wind pulling and pushing you around like a rag doll in addition to being pelted by rain. Your only option is to call for Macaque and hope he’ll help you, or even hear you with the loud thunder and city ambience but it was your only shot.
The more thunder echoes over the rooftops of the city while the lightning strikes back a response. The clouds blacken, and you can feel the wind getting even stronger. You know for a fact this storm is unlike anything you can imagine. Your phone vibrates with a text from an unsaved number. A single word flashes across your screen.
"SHELTER"
Your first thought is ‘how the fuck he did he get your number?’ but then you pushed your back against the wall and texted back.  “My roommate locked me out and secured the house. I can't get in! Help, please!” The moment you read the message a portal opens in front of you, and the dark shadow of Macaque extends his hand from the black void of the portal. "C'mon, hop in, I've got a safe place."
His voice echoes from the portal, sounding much quieter and softer than his typical voice. A concerned tone came from him as he asked you to trust him and jump into the void of darkness to what you would guess would be his home. "C'mon! Do you wanna get sick?!" He waves his hand, encouraging you to jump into the portal. You hesitate at first but then jump in, allowing the cool energy of the shadows to engulf you and feeling your stomach flip upside down. “Alright. I trust you!”
You expect there to be a hard landing, but there's not- the portal just opens again, and you're standing in a large cavern, on a platform in said demon’s arms. Huge columns of rock tower above you, and light shines down from the entrance up above. "Here we are!" He declares, glancing around the cavern. It's very obviously Macaque's sanctuary, a place of power to him. He turns to you. "So?" He grins. "You like?"
You glance around in shock and awe, seeing some items strewn about like blankets and pillows as well as food in wooden bowls. It was cozy and fit Macaque’s aesthetic nicely. “It's amazing! I never would have guessed this place existed. I see why you like it, not too dark but with the right amount of shadows.” The cavern was rather big as it was the size of a studio apartment and in the far corner a flash of lightning caught your eye out of a small hole tilted outward like a makeshift room.
He grins, opening his arms and turning around in a dramatic showy fashion. "Told you I was cool." He jokes, walking over to a table, and pulling a pillow off of it. He sets it on the floor in front of you and gets one for himself. "Sit down, make yourself comfortable, you're my guest." He says, smiling at you. His tail wags happily, and you would swear you could hear a faint little chuckle from him. You laughed gently at his hospitality and how different it was compared to his normal demeanor, it was quite funny.
You respond with a silent chuckle, “I never said you weren't. I actually think you're really cool and give off a mysterious yet curious vibe.” You sat down on the pillow and shrugged off your soaked coat, trying to not obviously laugh at his cute actions. How his tail happily swayed back and forth, how his ears flicked whenever a sound was heard, and how his laugh was full of mirth. Finally, visibly relaxing once you realized you were safe from any harm, whether it be hypothermia or being struck by lightning. “This place is amazing, I can tell why you call it home.”
"Thank you." He says sincerely, smiling at you. He pulls a blanket off of the bed, tossing it to you. "Why don't you wrap up, stay warm. We'll have to wait out this storm a while, but I'll keep you safe." He sounds genuine and concerned, which is definitely a change of pace from the usual way he acts. Your instincts are telling you to lean on him and feel secure, and you feel safe and protected.
He's like a big, shadowy teddy bear. A thought that you never thought would pop into your head but couldn’t be more true in your opinion. He smiles at you, something stirring in his mind but you couldn’t tell if it was good or bad. "Are you sure you're okay? I wouldn’t want you to get sick on me."
“Thanks, you don't know how much I appreciate this. I am relatively new to this city so I don’t know many people here. I'm a lot better now that I don't have to worry about my safety for a while.” Smiling as you take the blanket and wrap it around yourself, moving closer to him since was the only source of warmth. You blew on your hands and rubbed them together quickly, bringing the blanket even closer around your shoulders. “So I'm not familiar with anything and I only knew the basics of how to stay safe. I didn't expect you to be so soft and fluffy, Macaque. Not to mention warm but I guess that's cause I'm all wet.” Softly laughing and smiling at him sweetly.
He blushes slightly, and chuckles. "I'm not that fluffy, now, am I?" He jokes, chuckling. He nudges you a little. "I was about to go and make some tea, wanna come along?" He asks, offering a hand as he stands up. "C'mon!" He glances outside, and the storm still rages. "You really gotta be careful in this weather. I'll teach you all about it eventually, and then you can be on your own." His tail wags, and he gives you a big, genuine smile.
“Sure! I'm coming! I'll try to help where I can.” Following along and rethinking if being alone is something you actually want. He takes your other hand, guiding you through the shadowy cavern, toward a door. He opens it, and you can hear the sounds of a raging fire inside. "It's gonna be fine, I promise!" He says reassuringly, trying to give you some peace of mind. He chuckles a bit and walks over to a tea brewing station. "What kind of tea do you like?" He asks, genuinely curious. "Tea of life, perhaps?" He giggles, and you sense some humor in him. He's still very much himself, but a bit warmer and easier going.

💙 tmnt vday prompts · week 01 · leomin (leo x min-ji)
hello! it’s me again and i am PARTICIPATING and talking about ocs and ships and things I seldom ever talk about in public. WELL. here goes nothing.
1. in which tmnt universe does your pairing exist?
the 2003 animated series, also known as the series that has my entire heart.
2. introduce us to your otp.
well, you guys already know leo, of course. but this young lady here is min-ji seong! she’s a korean-american high school student who lives in new york city. she’s a pianist, but she also writes songs and plays the acoustic guitar. when she was eleven, she was in the subway when a bombing ‘incident’ happened and lost half of her left arm; she now has a cybernetic prosthetic. she’s a warm and empathetic person with a dash of trauma and skittishness.
3. how did they meet?
it’s a whole... thing, but they meet when leo and his brothers investigate the foot going into a building one night that ended up being min-ji’s aunt’s boutique, and she was working the closing shift when she was attacked and was either going to be abducted or murdered by the foot soldiers. you know the drill, though: our boys show up, take some names and beat up the bad guys, and the day is saved. for the moment, anyway. min-ji ended up being in the foot’s and the purple dragon’s cross hairs by no fault of her own... but that’s a story for another time.
4. how is the relationship now?
after upwards of two years of being friends (and pining), they eventually start dating and for the most part is great and wholesome and cute and very healthy. they’re very insightful and attentive to one another and feel safe in each other’s company. they both have their traumas and shortcomings, but fortunately are pretty good communicators, so any bigger issues between them are often immediately addressed and short lived.
5. what is each other’s love language?
words of affirmation and quality time are very big for the both of them, in both receiving and giving. acts of service is also present in the two of them, but not as prominent.
6. do they get married or have any kids?
no and no. the future is pretty uncertain, especially since min-ji has ambitions of becoming a professional musician of some kind, and who knows where that will take her. but for now they have each other and are fully committed to that, and that’s enough.
7. what is your favorite thing about this pairing? (gush as much as you want!)
oh, THIS is going under a cut.
leo got to be a first person witness in min-ji's growth and healing with her low self esteem, self worth, and also her traumas. and he is so, so proud of her and genuinely feels honored that he's gotten to be a part of her life and see her overcome obstacles of all kinds. he admires her inner strength and how all of her experiences haven't left her cold (like it had once done to him). She is continuously recovering from past experiences, learning how to defend herself and stand up for herself, and shows kindness to people even when they don't deserve it. not to mention she bonds significantly with his family--becoming close friends with raph, being a beam of support for don, and being silly with mikey and occasionally indulging in his mischief and playfulness. he appreciates that she cares deeply for his family and he wishes he could get to know her family in the same way.
on min-ji's part: when they first met and during the period of time where they were still getting to know one another, leo (intentionally or unintentionally) offered min-ji a lot of stability and a sense of safety that she didn't have in her life for a while, and she clutched onto it for dear life. she has always found him to be a calming, but strong presence, who was always gentle and hyper aware of her mood and her verbal and physical expressions of emotions and thoughts, which was like a breath of fresh air for her. min-ji finds leo easy to talk to and express herself with, even with difficult or embarrassing topics. learning more about his and his family’s past (especially with what happened at the end of season 3 and throughout the first half of season 4) made her even more sympathetic to them, and she admires how he was able to heal from those events as well. all in all, they’ve had intense roads to individual recovery and they found one another along the way, which is beautiful.
thanks for reading! 💙

Some people wished for me to tag themso they know when the next part is here and since it is here : @tweetybomb @kaeyamain4life
Warning(s) : reader is on house arrest and put in juvenile detention, angst, comfort/reconciliation, reconciliation, judgement and all that lawyer court shit, swear words/vile language, mentions of violence, attempted murder and bullying, don't worry you can read it but read the other ones if you didn't look through the previous parts. (if this topic is sensitive to you do not read it and I have NO CLUE on how fish man politics work so I'll pretend that it is similar to on land)
The love story of a shark and an octopus Part 4 :
Tumblr media
Things went by in a flash, having not recovered from the shock and realization of your actions. You were silent through the trial, hearing the parents of the other merfolk yell and throw insults at you. The judge kept trying to get everyone calm but how could they stay calm after you practically had slaughtered their children. All of them were now in the hospital, Hugo was as well but he stayed for a shorter period than you and any of his comrades.
In truth you were kept in confinement, even the doctors were terrified in the idea of approaching you. All were thinking that you had gone insane. They thought you lost all sense of control, afterwards, when every time they would ask you to answer a question it would always be : "I'm sorry" "yes." "no."
You weren't trying to lie to get yourself out of this situation, you knew what you had done and now that your anger was out of the way. Things changed for you, people were now furious with your presence for the first time you were looked down upon. The judge declared for a one year sentence of juvenile detention facility including a house arrest for 4 months.
The time you spent in juvenile wasn't any better, still put in quarantine. Only guards were allowed to see you, you occasionally had conversations with your mother/father/guardian. They were saddened, immensely, what did they do wrong for you to end up like this. Nothing, you lost control over your own mind and that was it. You missed your friends but yet you couldn't help but think they had forgotten about you, did they still want something to do with you ? Do they hate you ? Will you end up alone like you started ?
One year passed from your stay in your cell, but if that wasn't enough you had to stay four months in your house. Home didn't even feel comforting anymore, your friends were allowed to come but you knew they wouldn't visit you. Or so you thought.
"[Name] ?" Your guardian/father/mother called out, "mhm ?...what is it ?" "You have a visitor today." Wait what. W-who, who could be visiting you at this time. You wanted it to be azul or even the leech twins, but the possibilities were small.
And you were right because the person you showed up at the front of your bedroom door was none other than...Hugo.
"oh. It's you, come in I guess." He wasn't acting like the guy you knew nevertheless you chose to stand your ground around someone who ruined your life more than once. "What do you want ?" he leaned against the wall and sighed,
"Listen, I know you don't want anything to do with me but-",
Upon hearing his voice it almost made you gag in disgust and rage, your mind snapped, unable to hold back your anger.
"OF COURSE I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU, ASSHOLE ! YOU RUINED MY LIFE AND HURT MY BEST FRIEND ! YOU HAVE NO IDEA JUST HOW HORRIBLE IT HAS BEEN FOR ME !"
He didn't say anything even so he didn't look shocked, hugo knew your misery was his fault and he listened to your outburst.
"WHAT DO WANT WITH ME NOW ?! DON'T YOU THINK YOU'VE MADE MY LIFE HORRIBLE ENOUGH ?! IT'S BEEN A YEAR SINCE THE INCIDENT AND YOUR MAD BECAUSE YOU WERE THE ONE TO ATTACK ME FIRST ?!"
"[name] Please listen to me-"
"WHAT ?! WHAT IS IT THAT'S SOOO IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW ?! YOU ALWAYS PLAY THE VICTIM HUGO EVEN IF YOU KNOW YOU AREN'T ONE ! SO TELL ME WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME THAT BADLY ?!"
"...Look you might think I'm here to hurt you, get you back to juvenile or apologizing because people told me to but I'm not. After I came out of the hospital, I was immediately questioned on what happened. They made me answer truthfully as I had a spell which would shock me if I lied to them."
"...."
"I was electrocuted over twenty times and I still haven't recovered from the shock. Once I said what truly happened they decided to put you in juvenile to observe your behavior and also because even if you acted out this way for the sake of another, the damage you created was 'unacceptable', being the sane person you they was no aggression and for more precaution you are now in house arrest."
The burning urge to shred him to bits was burning in you, you hated him for what he had done, you hated him for everything...
"I was also put in juvenile for 10 months but you didn't know because of course they didn't allow you visitors that weren't family."
"I know it must've been hard for you, and I understand that you hate me but I'm willing to let everything go. You didn't do anything and I was the one to show up and knock at your door. I'm sorry..."
You stayed quiet and waited for him to continue but judging by the long silence, he was expecting an answer from you "...Your statement isn't false."
"...It's expected but just so you know, I'm truly sorry..."
"...To be honest, I don't give a fuck about your apology, you can go."
With a sigh Hugo kept going.
"Oh and after I was let go there was a pair of moray eels that kept saying your name and asking where you were, I imagine you know them, right ?"
"Floyd and Jade...?" At that moment, you felt overwhelmed with so many emotions, relief, happiness, doubt, sadness and fear. You were so happy that they still cared about you but at the same time you couldn't help but doubt his words. After all, he was Hugo.
"I guess that's their names, the tako was behind them as well, he was scared to get close to me but eventually asked me to give you these notes, right here."
He dropped what was over twenty letter, "people..wrote to me ?"
"...the trio and some of your old classmates too, I didn't read it because it belonged to you anyways" Hugo crossed his arms as he continued.
"The town was informed of the true situation after my release, they kept pestering me with questions for a while. Most of my squad left this part of the sea to live somewhere else because of their parents thinking you were a menace to this area. I don't blame them, you were brutal"
You listened to his info as you read through the letters he gave you, so many of them came from azul and the leech brothers. Others were small letters of hello and how are you. Yet it made you smile, these actions were small but it had been a year since you saw anyone. having company and finally being home felt good now that you knew they didn't forget about you.
"Eh, I don't know about you but it seems you left quite a good impression on them. The school expelled me but you still have your chance to come back."
You raised your head to look at Hugo who turned around to leave,
"It was nice meeting you, well kind of, but I hope you don't see my face again."
"Wait-", "mhm ?" he stopped to look at you "...Thanks, for you know, this."
Hugo chuckled and gave you a sympathy grin as he looked at you, "you were a good match, better practice those fighting skills !"
"...See ya [name], and I'm sorry for everything."
"..I forgave you already no need to rub it in." You were still a bit shaken by all this change coming from the one who tried to brutally murder you a year ago. Both of you didn't have the best interaction but you were happy to move on from it, and never see that guy's face again.
Once he was gone, you looked at the letters in your arms as you held them closer. "Azul, floyd and Jade...Your great white monster is coming back."

Hi! I want to request a part 2 to the Rio story when Beth shot him and the reader saved him. Maybe a 18+ story with a mini time skip. Where Turner and/or the other girls keep harassing her to tell them if he’s alive or where Rio is but our girl ain’t snitching. Take the story wherever you want to because I know it’ll be great however you write it! Please and thank you!
anon, you having faith in my writing and saying this’ll be great regardless literally warms my heart, tysm 🥺 i really truly hope you and everyone else that reads this part will enjoy it !!
Tumblr media
pairing: rio x fem!reader word count: 1.7k warnings: mentions of canon violence (blood and gun injury), adult dialogue and language, mentions of food consumption, hurt / comfort, kinda angsty but also a little fluffy, sorta a slow burn
a/n: technically a part two to this, but can 100% be read as a stand alone. don't be afraid to tell me what you think!
-
Honestly, you weren’t quite sure what to expect when Rio first said, “You’re my girl now.”, but it definitely wasn’t this.
The man’s attitude towards you changed drastically after the shooting incident. The dynamic between you shifted from acquaintances to friends to something more within a matter of days.
Previously he would turn to Beth for everything, only sneaking secret glances in your direction when he thought noone was looking, whereas now (with the way things played out) you were his go to person.
From advice regarding his work to simple conversations and trips down childhood memory lane whenever he needed a sense of normalcy, Rio knew he could count on you.
You were his girl after all.
Life with the brooding crook was different to say the least.
Being in hiding obviously affected your routine too, but it was Rio who genuinely surprised you the most.
He let you sleep in every morning, never once rushing you. He always left you a note if he ever had to disappear for a little, not giving away where he was going but rather letting you know when you could expect him back. He cooked for you, the best damn meals you have ever tasted. He included you in his meetings and welcomed your honest input.
In turn, you made him the happiest he has been in a very long time (but he wasn’t ready to admit that out loud just yet).
Four months passed as if it was nothing.
The weather outside started to shift, and with it your mood ever so slightly. You began missing your old life, your job, your apartment. Mainly, however, you seriously missed the girls.
“What are they going to think?” There was a slight shake to the tone of your voice as you asked the question.
“Nothin’, maybe that you ran away.” Rio replied nonchalantly, his eyes peeled to the road ahead.
After somewhat recovering from his extensive wounds, Rio thought it best the two of you relocate to one of his safehouses instead. You agreed. With the FBI also on your ass for helping him escape, you knew trusting the man would be your best chance at not landing in prison.
“But that’s not like me,” you protested, “Beth is too smart to let the others think I would just up and leave.”
“Well, what would you like ‘em to think, darlin’?”
You sighed in defeat, “I- I don’t know…”
With one hand still on the steering wheel, Rio reached across and gave your thigh a gentle squeeze, meeting your gaze briefly. His touch relaxed you instantly (and awoke some other senses in the process too).
“It’s all gonna be okay. You trust me, right?”
And you do trust him. And things were genuinely okay, (maybe even more than just okay). But still.. You would be lying if you said you weren’t going insane.
You didn’t know exactly what you needed, just that you needed away from this house. Only for a little bit. An hour maybe? Rio wasn’t here. He left all the time so what was stopping you from going too?
So you didn’t think twice about it. After scribbling a note and leaving it on the dining table, you grabbed a random hoodie from his vast collection and headed out the door.
“And where do you think you’re going?”
Fuck. Just like you to forget about one of Rio’s goons being constantly sat outside of the house for protection.
“For a drive,” you answered truthfully, “I’ll be back in an hour or so.”
The guy got up and crossed his arms, towering over you.
“I don’t think so, ma’am.”
You rolled your eyes. “If you’re not going to let me go alone then feel free to tag along, but I desperately need a change of scenery,” you tried your best to persuade, “Plus I am craving a milkshake.”
His eyes lit up then. He cleared his throat, letting his arms fall, before saying, “Only if I can get a cheeseburger.”
You grinned victoriously. “Deal.”
Turns out there was a drive-thru not that far away from your undisclosed location. You ordered a strawberry milkshake while your ‘bodyguard’ went all out with a large cheeseburger and fries meal.
He decided to eat inside; “I’ll be fifteen minutes max. Don’t tell the boss I left you alone.”
You stayed out in the parking lot, leaning against the hood of the car and sipping on your drink, watching the various people go by.
It was then you heard it. A distinctively familiar voice calling out your name.
Your body froze, half thinking if you didn’t move or acknowledge them, perhaps they would leave you alone.
Of course that wasn’t the case and within a matter of seconds, you were surrounded by the three women you practically betrayed a few months ago.
“I fucking knew it was you,” Annie exclaimed and to your surprise, swooped in for an overly excited hug.
“Dude, where the fuck have you been?!”
“Avoiding us, running away from law enforcement, shacking up with gang friend…” Ruby listed, not giving you a chance to respond.
“What happened to not jumping to conclusions? She may have a very good reason for helping him, like maybe he threatened to kill her if she didn’t,” Annie rationalised in your defence.
While the two women bickered back and forth, your eyes drifted to Beth. The expression on her face clearly read betrayal and hurt (maybe even a sting of jealousy, although you couldn’t be quite sure).
“Is he alive?”
The question caused the other conversation to cease instantly, Ruby and Annie snapping their attention back to you and the stunning redhead.
“Is. He. Alive?” Beth repeated more sternly.
You couldn’t bring yourself to utter the words, your mouth and your brain completely refusing to cooperate, so you just nodded. One slow slant of the head.
“Well… Where is he?” Beth enquired, raising a brow.
“I-I uhm,” you swallowed your breath, “I can’t tell you.”
Ruby scoffed, “Can’t or won’t?”
Looking between the three ladies, you nervously chewed on your bottom lip. There was no way you could reveal where Rio was, and where the two of you have been hiding these last couple of months. With everything that’s happened — and with the way you’ve been feeling about him — you couldn’t betray him.
“Won’t.”
Beth let out a bitter chuckle. “What the fuck, y/n? Did you forget who he is?”
“Funny coming from you,” you spat back, quite surprised at the sudden burst of confidence you were experiencing.
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“It means you’re jealous.”
“Oh my god! You’re delusional!” The redhead exclaimed, drawing attention from a few passerbyers.
“Maybe we shouldn’t do this here…” Annie tried to interject.
“No, Beth. Delusional is thinking you could try to kill a man like him and continue walking around freely, thinking he won’t come after you.”
“We were convinced he was dead,” Ruby defended, causing you to roll your eyes.
“Foolish.”
“We didn’t think you would save him!”
“Well, I did. I saved him,” you stated, “Now I can sleep soundly at night knowing I’m safe and sound.”
Ruby was about to say something in response, when your ‘bodyguard’ made his appearance, grabbing the attention of all three ladies.
“Is there a problem?”
You looked between the girls following his question.
“No,” Beth answered, her eyes never leaving yours, “No problem.” And with that they retreated, allowing you to hop in the car.
The ride back to the safehouse was long.
Making sure the girls weren’t following you, your gang companion took a different way, down more winded roads. By the time you made it back, the sun had set and about a million stars made an appearance.
Rio was waiting for you. Sitting on the front porch steps, looking out into the driveway.
Knowing he was most likely angry you left the safety of the house in the first place, never mind the whole ordeal of running into the girls, a nervous feeling settled in the pit of your stomach while you stepped out of the car.
“I can explain,” you began but he just shook his head and wrapped his arms around you.
Even though the kind act caught you off guard, you felt your muscles instantly become loose and you let yourself completely sag into Rio’s surprisingly affectionate embrace.
His hands made home on your waist and he gave you a light squeeze before shifting them slowly to the small of your back. In turn, your arms made their way around his neck, your fingertips gently grazing at his soft skin.
“No need,” Rio mumbled into your hair before slightly pulling his head back to take a look at your face.
“So you’re not mad?”
He shook his head. “Just glad you’re okay, mama.”
The corners of your mouth twirled upwards ever so slightly at his words and the faint smile now present on your features caused Rio to glance down at your lips.
There was a brief moment of silence, during which your faces both inclined towards one another. You did your best to ignore the way your heart was beating inside of your chest. If it wasn’t for the fact Rio was still holding onto you, his hands rubbing gentle circles into your back, you probably would have fainted.
“Plus,” the jet-haired man cleared his throat, breaking the spell you found yourself in,“I think it’s about time to return to some normality, huh?”
He let his arms fall. However, instead of taking a step back (like you expected him to do), Rio gently rested his forehead against yours.
“Right,” you breathed in response, biting on the inside of your cheek to stop yourself from shedding a tear because truthfully, even though just this morning you were missing your old life, the sentiment of ‘returning to normality’ made you quite sad.
“Nothin’ else is gonna change though,” Rio reassured, his hot breath sending a tingle down your spine.
You let out a breath. “Nothing?”
The man standing in front of you let out a soft chuckle. “Maybe just one thing.”
And without uttering another word, he leaned in to capture your lips in a kiss.

Family Forgiveness Chapter 3 || F!Reader x Wanda Maximoff
Tumblr media
Soooo... Another part hey? Thanks so much for reading and the amazing feedback/suggestions! Enjoy!
F!Avenger!Reader x Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch
Chapter 3: Y/N, Wanda and America try to make their family work... The whispers in Wanda's head, however, continue to get in the way
Words: 2k Warnings/Tags: Gross AF Family Fluff, Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Mild Language, Wanda needing yet another hug-
Chapter 1 Chapter 2
Tumblr media
It had been a couple days since the incident at Kamar-Taj, Wanda still hadn't forgiven herself for that. She hadn't forgiven herself for a lot of things... You and Wanda had been sitting on the sofa throughout the morning, a movie on in the background as you held her in your arms.
"Hey, mom?" America's voice broke Wanda out of her thoughts - the young girl stood in front of the couch.
"Yes?" both you and Wanda asked. The two of you looked at eachother in confusion.
You cleared your throat, "Er... which one of us are you talking to?" the pair of you sat up.
America groaned, "The cool one."
"I suddenly don't want to know which one of us is the 'cool one' because I think somebody is going to get offended..." you said, standing up from the couch.
"I'm joking," she laughed, "I just wanted to tell you guys that the student from Kamar-Taj has already recovered. It wasn't as bad as it looked," she offered a warm smile specifically towards Wanda.
"That's great," you gave her a quick hug.
"Yes. It is," Wanda sighed in relief, the tension in her shoulders was finally gone.
"Stephen said that you don't need to go back to Kamar-Taj for as long as you want," America said as she offered a hand out to Wanda, the latter took it cautiously as she was pulled up off the couch, "He wanted me to tell you that maybe you could join the students in some of the classes like I am? He thinks it might help you... Totally up to you of course!" she dropped Wanda's hand before stepping back, Wanda was quick to hide her hands in her pockets soon after.
"O-Oh?" Wanda said, slightly nervous about going back to Kamar-Taj at all.
You placed a hand on her shoulder in comfort, "I would join you too, if that would make you feel any better?"
"I'm not sure yet," she said honestly, "I think I need a little more time."
"Yeah. Take all the time you need," you smiled, leaning in to kiss her cheek.
"Ew. Gross," America scowled.
You smirked towards America before shrugging, "Oh? It's gross, is it?" you leaned even closer towards Wanda, "I best not make you feel even more uncomfortable," you said, sarcasm dripping within your words. Without warning, you quickly pulled Wanda into a deep kiss, "Oh nooo, it's so gross," you muttered in between the kiss.
"OKAY! I'm leaving!" America held up her hands before turning to head towards the kitchen.
"Don't you dare burn the kitchen down again!" Wanda managed to exclaim before she willingly returned to the kiss, she hadn't even realised that her hands had made their way to your waist.
"I'm gonna move out, I swear!"
You and Wanda laughed once the girl was out of sight.
Wanda loved this. She was starting to feel more and more at home as the days went on.

"You mean to tell me... That whilst we were in space, you guys were busy fucking with the multiverse?!" Peter exclaimed.
You nodded, leaning back in your chair, "Something like that..." Wanda was seated on a chair near your desk, you couldn't stop a frown from appearing on your face as you watched her flinch at the mention of the multiverse.
"Unbelievable!" Rocket scoffed, kicking some papers off of the desk, "We missed the good stuff!"
You had been called in by Tony to do some boring Avengers paperwork in the compound... But you suspected that it was mainly because he didn't want to deal with the return of the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' himself. So it was up to you to deal with their antics.
"The multiverse," Drax scoffed, "I would've punched a hole in the multiverse if I was here. You should've called."
"I would've loved to see that!" Mantis' smile was wide, clapping at the thought of Drax somehow single-handedly destroying the multiverse.
"I'll remember the next time the multiverse comes around," you rolled your eyes, leaning down to pick up the discarded papers.
Without a word, Wanda stood up. She pushed past Mantis and headed out of the room, the latter's smile turned into a frown.
"What's up with her?" Rocket folded his arms.
"It's a long story," you sighed.
Before you could continue speaking, Mantis interrupted, "She is in pain." The group all looked at her.
You were about to question her but then you remembered. She was an empath. A much stronger one than you, that's for sure.
"So sad," Mantis continued, "And yet, so angry."
Nebula added, "She is filled with rage. I could see it in her eyes."
Clearing your throat, you stood up, "She kind of... went through the multiverse to find something she wanted. And she did things she isn't proud of. It's not really my place to give you the details."
You quickly excused yourself, leaving a bunch of confused Guardians behind you.
Tumblr media
Wanda's eyes glowed a flaming red, burn marks scattered the walls of her room. She flicked her hand to release another burst of magic, it managed to smash one of the lights on the wall. The anger growing within Wanda had to come out some way... This wasn't the first time she had used her magic as an outlet.
A knock at the door caused Wanda to flinch, her red eyes couldn't stop filling with tears at the thought of you catching her using magic like this.
"Wands?"
"Go away, Y/N," you could clearly tell that she was beyond angry.
"You know I'm not going anywhere, Wanda!"
A groan escaped Wanda as she felt the magic flow through her arms. The whispers in her head telling her to give up and release her powers. She glanced down at her hands, the anger growing.
"Multiverse, multiverse, multiverse..." Wanda repeated the words in her head. You and the Guardians constantly talking about it. It was becoming too much. This time her magic hit the table, effectively cutting it in half. She sat on the edge of her bed as she buried her head in her hands, the tears slipped through her darkened fingers.
"I SHALL DESTROY ANYTHING THAT GETS IN YOUR WAY, Y/N!" Drax exclaimed, the door suddenly flung off its hinges. Wanda barely reacted, her eyes screwed shut as the whispers grew louder.
"I didn't want you to completely destroy the door!" you complained, pushing past him. You thanked him anyway as he turned to leave you in peace, a proud smile on his face. You stopped in your path as you noticed your surroundings. The room had an eerie feel to it. The walls were covered in burn marks, some old and some new. The carpet was burnt to a crisp and numerous pieces of furniture were pretty much destroyed. The only light in the room came from a certain witch's head.
You gulped as you looked at the glowing headpiece that was on top of Wanda's head. It was a bright red and almost see-through.
"Please go away," Wanda whispered, not looking up, "I don't want to hurt you."
Not listening to her, you stepped closer towards the bed, "You won't hurt me, Wanda. I know you won't."
"But what if I do?" her voice cracked as she finally looked up to see you, her eyes glowing. You hadn't seen them this red in a long time.
You kneeled down on the floor in front of her and took her hands in yours. Almost immediately, the headpiece disappeared and her eyes returned to green, "You won't," you said again, reaching one of your hands up to wipe the tears away from her cheek, "I trust you."
She clenched her eyes shut again, "My head-"
"I know," you sighed, tightly holding her hands in yours again. You felt the sadness growing within her, but the anger was slowly dying down, thankfully.
You stood up and sat next to her on the edge of the damaged bed, your arm came up around her shoulders. She happily leaned her head against your shoulder, enjoying the closeness. You allowed her to take deep breaths as she did her best to calm down, her arms came up to wrap around your middle to make sure you weren't going anywhere.
"Don't leave, detka," she pleaded, "I know I told you to go away. But I really don't want you to."
"I'm not going anywhere. I promise," you knew that deep down she was afraid of what she was capable of, you knew she was scared of losing control and hurting you. You looked around her room, biting your lip as you eyed the damages, "We'll get this place cleaned up a bit and head back home. Tony will understand."
Wanda's eyes were now closed in content. She felt safe with you around.
A knock on the wall caused you to look up, Wanda didn't dare look herself.
"I retrieved the girl as you requested, miss Y/N," Mantis nodded, stepping to the side to allow America into the room. You felt Wanda tense up next to you once she realised who the girl was.
"Thanks, Mantis," you said before Mantis walked back down the hall.
"Why did you ask America to come?" Wanda whispered as she opened her eyes to look up at you, they were still glossy with tears.
"Because we're family and we're going through this together," you explained, you moved away from her despite her protests.
America came closer and held out her arms, "We're in this together," she smiled at her. Wanda stood up and accepted the hug, her heart racing. She held her tighter as more warm tears trickled down her cheeks. You smiled sadly at the sight.
"Thank you, America," she sighed, not quite believing that she did in fact have a family.
"Don't mention it. Still gotta work on forgiving yourself, hey?"
You stood up and began to take off the bedsheets, they definitely needed a bit of a clean after Wanda's outburst of magic. You were about to
That was when you heard America whisper, "I meant it when I said you were the cool mom."
Scoffing, you threw a pillow at the girl causing her to pull away from her hug with Wanda, "I knew it," you glared at the two.
"It's not my fault she has awesome powers!"
"I-I have awesome powers, too!" you stammered.
"Oh, yeah?" America raised an eyebrow, folding her arms, "I can travel the multiverse by choice. Wanda can fly, make things out of thin air, look like a badass in fights and-"
"Okay, okay, I get it!" you rolled your eyes.
Wanda couldn’t stop the smile from appearing on her face upon hearing that America actually liked her magic. She let out a small giggle as she watched you try to justify your 'powers'. She already felt much better. It was strange... But the anger and sadness within her seemed to always disappear when she made contact with you.
"Isn't that Mantis girl an actual empath?" America questioned, cocking her head to the side.
"Y-Yes, but-!"
Despite being a much weaker empath, Wanda knew that you had a power that nobody else did.
The power to make the whispers go away.

Tumblr media
Maki, Yuta, Megumi, Yuji, Choso, Yuki and you were now standing in front of Master Tengen, at the Tombs Of The Star were he resided.
The repercusions of the Shibuya incident were far too great and Noritoshi Kamo had created a game out of the renmants of the catastrophe he had caused. A sacrificial ritual in pursuit of the evolution of humanity.
"The Culling Game."
The group layed a carefully made plan while going through the rules explained by Master Tengen, as you had no choice but to participate in the game.
"Well, that's the info we've got." said Maki "Now we each have a role to play."
Yuki and Choso would remain with Master Tengen, and Maki would return to the Zen'in clan to collect all the cursed tools. The group was shorthanded, so Yuji and Megumi would have to go out there and recruit some people, whilst Yuta would hurry up and join the game so as to gather more information, being on his own again.
"As for you Y/n, wha-" Yuta cut himself short seeing as you were standing a little far from the group. You had listened to everything, of course, but your eyes felt swollen and stingy from the incesant headache. "¿Are you okay?"
You didn't reply, you couldn't. It was like your brain was overexerting itself by the stimulus of something unkown that was trying to break through your thoughts. Yuta realised you were struggling, the group needed you, but you needed to go back to Shoko. It was clear that Toge's actions could severely affect you and the side effects, whatever they were, were getting worse with each passing hour. The thing is, he knew you wouldn't back down in this situation just for some headache.
"Now that I think about it, Y/n, you should stay." he said with a smile as warm as a beam of sunlight and a friendly hand on your shoulder.
"I'm sorry. ¡¿What?!" you looked at him incredulously. Everyone turned their heads to see what all the fuzz wass about. "¿Are you insane? ¡As if!"
'¡Tschk! This won't do.' Yuta sighed in defeat.
"Actually, that's not such a bad idea." said Maki from her place. "We have a major ally here at the school that needs our protection and Shoko is healing him. He needs time to recover as it's a slow process, so you'll stand guard for him."
"Maki." Yuta gave her a look. The rest didn't know what had happened between you and Toge, so in saying that, Maki would only raise questions that would resort in having to tell more lies for the sake of your mind's preservation. Fortunately, they were too busy, still talking to Master Tengen.
"It's okay, just trust me." she quickly said under her breath.
"¿What the hell is going on? ¡Ah!" you said squeezing your temple with three of your fingers, applying hard pressure to try and soothe the throbbing pain.
"¡Hey! ¿Is she okay?" Yuji asked taking a step closer to you, but Yuta rapidly turned around and started talking to him about the tactics they had planned to face the game.
Maki showed you a face that meant business this time. Even if what was going on outside was more urgent, she'd have to leave you at the school and pray that Shoko could help you. Sooner or later you'd have to declare your participation in the Culling Game, as refusing to doing so would result in death.
Toge was also on a race against time.
"Look, before I leave I'm taking you back. You heard what Master Tengen said and I can't have you out there like this. Something needs to be done."
You were looking at her attentively now.
"Our guy is a Semi-Grade 1 sorcerer that uses cursed speech technique. He is a major asset, so this is a crucial part of the plan as well. Making sure that he recovers in the least amount of time so that he can join our group, same as you."
"¿What happened to him? ¿What's the scoop?"
"He lost an arm due to Sukuna's Domain Expansion technique."
"Lucky." you said raising your eyebrows.
"Yup. Now let's go, we need to leave asap."
You nodded at her command and were leaving the tombs, way ahead of the group already. "¿You think this is okay?" Yuta approached Maki with concern written all over his face. "This needs to be sorted out. I know Toge, you know Toge, and he won't be going anywhere before he fixes this mistake. Besides, now it only looks like a migraine… ¿But what if the effects of the technique end up ruining the rest of her brain? It's being constricted against her will Yuta." "You are right. I guess we'll have to leave this to them. They'll catch up to us." he said with a reassuring smile. "Yes, they will." Maki replied with a slight nod.
Toge was in his room. It was quiet and somber. He looked ghostly, shrouded in darkness. Thinking of you. He heard noises coming from outside the building and quickly looked at the window to see the group leaving campus. Maki, Yuta, Yuji, Megumi… ¿Where were you? His brows furrowed and his face darkened, thinking that maybe you were not in a good state after the blow caused by the impact of his technique. 'She just had a headache. That's all.' That's what Shoko told him when she went to check up on him after a couple of hours. It didn't matter how many sentences and questions he wrote on his little notepad, her answer was always the same. He had no other choice but to believe her though, if something bad had happened to you he would've known by now. He went back to bed thinking about what would you be doing at that moment. He knew about the game and how everything had gone even more to shit. The guys were strong, he needed to get stronger and you were a goddess of combat, but- The wall of his abdomen tightened even more with each breath, feeling drowsy.
'I could've killed her. I could've-' He heard a couple of soft knocks on his door. As soon as he opened it, there you were. A vision. Somehow you always managed to look impeccable in your uniform, and your creative ways had his gaze nailed to every curve on your body. You always stood out, with your squared neck sleevless mini dress. You wore a shirt underneath, and the pin engraved with the school logo on your left side, right above your chest. You loved your knee-high stockings, and the look would always be finished with a pair of high combat boots. That brief section of your thighs, between your socks and the hem of your dress, were his constant reminder of one of the fleshiest, most juiciest parts of your body that he had always dreamed of grazing with the tip of his fingers. Your long wavy hair released these little electrifying, hipnotic sparkles that continued to feed his gaze. He swore he could feel these little vibrations that were coming out of you with each of your breaths, fully embracing his own blood-pumping muscle. You totally owned his heart. You were still standing there, with eyes as bright as stained glass. Flushed, arms crossed behind your back. Toge noticed your pink infused cheeks becoming much brighter. The soft, padded flesh reminded him that he was only wearing a snuggly white zipped hoddie with nothing underneath. His athletic build was on display for you. His body was solid, well defined and proportioned. His purple eyes were gleaming, and his skin looked so creamy and moist under the white lights on the corridor. He had to have you right then and there, your body against his naked, swollen chest. He needed to feel like you were not entirely out of his system, he wanted to finish before he even started. The need to put himself back into your body was driving him crazy. He wanted to be eaten up by you and never leave that little nest you had for a heart. The one who had taken such good care of him.
He needed you to take a bite from his honeyed lips.
The lights flickered all of a sudden, and your aspect had changed dramatically. You looked so worn, fragile and lost. You didn't know who he was anymore, you were a stranger, and the realisation made his eyes fill with stinging, burning tears. He needed to tell you that he loved you, first of all. So he stretched the only hand that he could towards you, laying it on your cheek with his thumb rubbing against your warm, tender flesh. 'This way, you are going to be just fine. I'm sorry, I'll keep you safe from now on. Remember me, please.'
He was so sorry and he was broken. As empty as your mind was now of his memories of you and him.
But he had to try, he had to do this so that you- "¡Toge!" You'd remember him if he just pressed your lips to yours. Then you'd see that- "¡Toge! ¡Damnit!" Everything would be fine, 'cause he was right there. "¡Inumaki!" you yelled at him right after you separated from his kiss. Blood was gushing out of your mouth while you gasped frantically. "¡INUMAKI, WAKE UP!" Toge jerked awake, with the cold sweat of a nightmare running between his shoulder blades. Your crimson image had left him scarred and full of fear. Panic spread on his face like a wildfire.
Shoko was right there holding him by the shoulder. "¡Put someting on! Y/n's not okay, we need to figure this out or I'm afraid-" Toge pushed past her and started running in the direction of her office.

A Tizzy part 2
Demon Slayer
Pairing: Reader x Rengoku Kyojuro
Warnings: Fluff, Teasing from the boys, minor jealousy, Teasing from Tengen, Butt slap, Prelude to Yoshiwara District
Previously
Summery: Upon Recovery Reader and Rengoku get closer and drives the boys crazy.
Story:
Upon recovering, you were visited by Rengoku and the boys more. You visited them in return. For some reason, you just felt this…pull to be around the Flame Hashira, definitely like a Moth to the Flame. You wanted to be by his side listening to him all day.
You chalked it up to a small crush, and wanting to be around others who were recovering with you. Crushes were manageable. Easy to ignore.
He was the Flame Hashira, you had to ignore it. If he didn’t have someone already, he had way too many other responsibilities to attend to. Your excuse was bonding with the kids. If there was anything you were weak for, it was kids, teens, etc.
You were lucky enough to do rehabilitation training with them and Rengoku. Or rather Tanjiro and Rengoku. Zenitsu and Inosuke were released for missions. Mid training, The Wind Hashira pulled you off to the side from his random trip to the Butterfly estate. “How are you healing up (Last Name)?”
You shrugged, running your hand through your hair, lingering on one of the scars on the back of your neck. “Pretty good, my Ribs are fine now, I’m just itching to get back in shape.”
Sanemi hummed, “I’d like you to rethink on being my Tsugoku.”
From the distance, during training, Tanjiro smelled something off. Something slightly sour, very faint, and it was gone just as fast. He blinked, noticing that Rengoku had paused his sword swinging. Before continuing again. Looking over he noticed you talking to the Wind Hashira. Seemingly a friendly conversation. You didn’t seem to be in distress.
When they got back to the estate after the Mugen train incident, he recalled smelling something sweet flowing between you and Rengoku. It was something he smelled before, between his parents, Iguro and Kanroji, and even Inosuke and Aoi. Tanjiro developed a soft smile at the thought, “Everything okay Rengoku-sama?”
“I’m fine! Why do you ask?” Rengoku blinked out of his reverie and rested his bokken on his shoulder, looking down at the boy.
You had started to head back over and felt your breath hitch, just the slightest, seeing Rengoku how he was posed. Lightly blushing you tried to shake away the feeling. Tanjiro smelled a light sweet smell noting that you were making your way over. “No reason! (Name)-san! What did Shinaugawa-sama want?”
Rengoku looked back up at you again, sweet scent wafting Tanjiro’s senses, much more potent than yours, with a slight sour note. You only grinned and patted the boy on the head. “He was asking me to be his Tsugoku again.”
Tanjiro’s eyes widened and the sour note disappeared from the air, filled with peaches. Rengoku laughed, “Oh?! Congratulations!”
Your heart skipped a beat, and you rubbed your nose, “I told him I would think about it.”
Tanjiro nodded, “Completely understandable!”
Rengoku only had a slight scent of confusion, “what is there to think about? It’s a great opportunity!”
You shrugged, “Becoming a Tsugoku or a Hashira, was never on my to do list.” You smiled up at the Flame Hashira as Tanjiro smelled a stronger scent of peaches. “No offense Sir! I just think there is always going to be someone better and more worthy than me to be someone’s Tsugoku!”
Rengoku laughed, “Which would make you the perfect Tsugoku for Shinazugawa! You’re humble!”
Your heart fucking going Doki doki. This man really needed to stop. Tanjiro looked between you and the Hashira, definitely the same scent as his parents. You chuckled, “I’m going to go and help Aoi with making lunch. You two want anything in Particular prepared?”
Both males shook their heads, and you walked off. Tanjiro gave the Hashira a knowing look, “(Name)-san smells like a good person.”
Rengoku blinked, before beaming down at Tanjiro, “I keep forgetting about how good your nose is! Can you smell what they are making so far?”
That’s what he got out of it? Tanjiro nearly deadpanned, but sniffed the air regaradless, “I think I smell Takoyaki.”
Rengoku had his signature grin on his face, “Let's work up an appetite! Takoyaki sounds good!”
Tanjiro nodded with just as much enthusiasm. “Yes!”
You had found yourself on a couple of missions with Rengoku after that. It seemed like every time you turned around he was there. Someone was talking about him, to him, asking you about him.
It was the same for Rengoku, he couldn’t escape you, not that he wanted to. It was like you were his sun, and he was a planet, and couldn’t help but to rotate in your orbit.
There was no point in fighting a gravitational pull. The both of you enjoyed each other's presence. One mission the both of you returned to the Rengoku estate, as Rengoku asked you over for dinner with his Tsugokus and brother. Arriving, Tanjiro and Zenitsu paused their training as scents and sounds overtook them. A knowing glance at you and Rengoku laughing. Inosuke was somewhere.
Tanjiro and Zenitsu ran over, and Inosuke jumped down from the roof. Tanjiro having a weird look on his face, “(Name)-san~ Don’t you like Dango?”
You and Rengoko looked down at the boys. You blinked, “uh, yeah actually dango is my favorite…”
Tanjiro beamed, “I thought so! Master Rengoku! Can we all get some Dango?” While you were confused, Rengoku only beamed down at his students, “Later! Make sure to get your training done and we’ll all go out for a treat!”
“(Name)-san you like Takoyaki right?”
“(Name)-san! Have you ever had Sweet Potato Manju? Senjuro makes great Manju!”
“(Bad Name)-san! Fight me!”
Your laugh filled the area, as Zenitsu heard Rengoku’s heart race at hearing it, and the smell of peaches filled the air for Tanjiro. “Welcome home brother! Is this your girlfriend?”  The two of you heard from the Engawa causing both of your faces to darken.
“HEH?!” Your eyes looked like they were about to pop out of your head, while you quickly covered your face.
Rengoku only laughed and slapped his hand against your back. He couldn’t help but to feel your reaction was cute, he wanted to see you more flustered, but it wasn’t the time. IT would never be the time. “No Senjuro, this is (Last name) (First Name) she’s a good friend and comrade!”
A slight scent of disappointment wafted from you. Senjuro played dumb as the boys already told him of Yours and Rengoku’s infatuation. “Oh I thought Zenitsu said you were dating, my bad!”
Both you and Rengoku gaped like fish. However you glared at the younger boy, almost embarrassed, “Zenitsu!”
His eyes widened realizing he was just thrown under a cart, “But your hearts beat fast around each other! Like Tanjiro and Kanao!”
Oh shit that’s right! The boy has keen hearing! Tanjiro glared at the blond, “HEY!~” you couldn’t help but to laugh at that. Before coughing, you turned to Rengoku, noticing he was hiding behind his hair a little. With a slight blush, you looked away, thinking it was cute. “Maybe I should go for now…”
Rengoku almost panicked! He felt somewhat dizzy, the boys were chasing away his sun! “Nonsense! Boys, behave yourselves! Please stay!” Rengoku had grabbed your hand. Electricity zapped between the two of you, but Rengoku kept his hand firm.
Zenitsu was going to be driven crazy by these two pining fools and their hearts.
“Oi! I got a flamboyant request, and you were just who I was looking for (Last name)-san!” You cried out of shock not expecting the Sound Pillar. “Or rather not a request, you’re coming with me!” Tengen threw you over your shoulder, “And I don’t have to ask first cause you’re not a Tsugoku!”
Rengoku watched confused, but understanding it was a mission. However the three boys got defensive. Inosuke scoffed, “We’re trying to get them to be mates! You’re interrupting!”
Tengen heard the hearts of yours and Rengoku’s stop, saw Rengoku hide behind his hair again a sound from your mouth as your soul left your body. Tengen gave his buddy a wicked grin, “Rengooooku~” he looked up and watched as Tengen slapped your ass as he had you over his shoulder. You squeaked out a sound and your face went red. The scent of embarrassment permeating in the air.
“Uzui! I must insist you desist!” Rengoku’s eyes sharpened at his action, and the boys jumped in front of Rengoku.
“LET HER GO YOU BULLY!” Tanjiro yelled.
“He’s no bully! He's a pervert hitting on another man’s woman!” Zenitsu cried out.
Tengen deadpanned, “I’M NOT A PERVERT!”
Tanjiro looked up steadfast, “Then take us! Leave (Last Name) out of it!”
Tengen gave a disappointed look, “Look I need at least three beautiful women, you don’t exactly fit the bill.”  Rengoku being snarky lifted Inosuke’s boarhead up revealing Inosuke’s face to Tengen who paused for a moment in thought.
“HEY!” Inosuke grabbed at his boarhead and pulled it back down over his head.
Tengen shrugged, “Fine you three will do, don’t let me down.” With that he tossed you into the air, causing Rengoku to catch you, with you yelping and burying your burning face into his Haori. Tengen leaned over with a smirk and then whispered into Rengoku’s ear, “Better get mating Buddy!”
Tengen then turned to the other three and pulled them away to explain the mission, leaving a flustered couple behind with a poor little Senjuro to clean up the mess.

It was another regular day on the island. Hot and crowded with tourists. With everyone working, you decided to tag along with JJ and Pope to delivery groceries for Heyward’s business. Usually this meant going to Figure Eight, your least favorite place to be. Normally it didn’t creep you out too much, but because of a rather recent incident, you didn’t like being there.
Right after your dad went missing, you spent a lot of time with Kie as she lived out her Kook Year. Avoiding the Pogues and John B and surrounding yourself with stuck up assholes and their expensive drugs and alcohol helped you forget about your own family crisis. You would do anything to take your mind off your dad’s disappearance even if it meant getting high on whatever was offered to you. You didn’t ask twice about what it was. You figured if the rich people we’re doing it, it couldn’t be that bad right?
One night you did a long line surrounded by Rafe and a couple of his buddies. Pretty much everything after that was a blur. Your memories are fuzzy, like a puzzle piece you can’t piece together. The last thing you remember is your black hitting something soft, like a mattress or a pillow. You thought you heard the zipper of your shorts being pulled down but figured it was Kie helping you change into a pair of pajamas.
The next morning you woke up practically naked with a blanket covering your bottom half and your bra pulled down to your stomach. You began to panic and ran your hands down your side, flinching at the tenderness by your hips. The skin was yellow/green and getting ready to bruise. Your breathing became shallow and your throat tightened up. You fumbled around the room you didn’t recognize for your clothes and slid them on, not caring what was backwards or inside out. You stumbled out the door and tip toed down the long staircase of the large house you were in. Figure Eight, you thought.
You didn’t go home first. You went to Kie’s house. Because your body ached. Because you wanted to cry but didn’t want John B or the other boys to hear you. Because you were afraid to be naked around anyone but another girl. The second she opened the door, you sobbed into her arms and told her what you think happened to you. Kie tried to get you to go to the police or even the hospital, but you couldn’t fathom the idea of anyone knowing about what happened. Not even a stranger. Because you were embarrassed. You blamed yourself for this happening to you. You were high as fuck, trying to forget about your family troubles. You were the one to make yourself weak and vulnerable. No one else. Someone just took advantage of the position you put yourself in.
Kie didn’t pressure you. She wanted to support you in whatever decision you made, despite wanting justice for you and sending whoever the sleaze bag was to jail. She sat on the toilet and talked to you as you showered slowly. You spent most of the time staring at the wall and feeling ever inch of your body. You felt so dirty and no amount of soap or scrubbing could make you feel any cleaner.
You stayed at her house for a couple of days until John B eventually texted her because he was worried. You both decided it was time for you to go home, but you never told them what happened. You were afraid of what John B and even JJ would do if they found out. And the last thing you wanted was for either of them to get hurt or in trouble.
John B didn’t notice something was off as much as JJ did. He could tell you were being more quiet and reserved than usual. Your usual style of crop tops and jean shorts changed to sweats and baggy t shirts. You slept with your door locked and didn’t touch a single can of beer since you came home.
Moving on from that night was a slow and gruesome process, one you don’t know if you’ll ever fully recover form. Luckily for you, JJ was a great distracter. He was an amazing story teller, he could make you laugh with a small hand gesture, and his laugh could draw you in for hours. No one was surprised when the two of you eventually started dating. Not even John B, who was a little apprehensive about it at first.
To JJ, everything came to light when another make out session became heated. Like that morning, it became hard to breathe and your mind wandered off to what could have happened to you that night. In a blink of an eye, you were back in Figure Eight with someone pulling your zipper down. You could physically feel the bruises on your hips again and your skin burning.
A panic attack emerged and JJ was left confused and lost. Fortunately for you, he was quick to realize something was seriously wrong and helped you through it. He breathed with you and talked you down. When you were calm, you explained what happened. At first he was pissed. Pissed at whoever could have done this to you and even a little bit at you and Kie for keeping this from him. He was ready to charge out of the house, grab John B, and find the sick son of a bitch who would touch an unconscious girl. But your cries stopped him. He’s never heard pain in your voice like he did that night. It physically cracked his heart into a million little pieces and he dropped every instinct he had and stayed with you instead.
Since then, he’s been the most supportive and protective boyfriend. At every boneyard party, he would keep an eye out for any Kook that decided to show their face on your turf. He took note of anyone looking at you in a weird way. He carried the gun he stole from Scooter in his backpack for protection. He was serious about using it too. No one touches his girl and gets away with it.
Luckily, nothing happened between JJ and any Kook. No one made a move to talk to you or tease you. Kooks kept their usual distance from you, which not only made you feel better for yourself but because you didn’t want something to happen to JJ. You know the rules of the game of this island. Nothing bad ever happens to Kooks. They don’t know consequences.
When Pope docks his boat, he asks if you would come with him to drop groceries off at the Thorntons. If he did it alone, it would cause two trips and he doesn’t want to waste time.
As you go to agree, JJ steps in and shakes his head as he looks between you two. “I don’t think thats a good idea.”
“Why not?” Pope asks, completely clueless.
You subtly shake your head, silently begging for JJ not to say anything. Pope and John B still didn’t know and you want to keep it that way. Sure you would feel safer with JJ by your side, but you won’t be alone. You will be with Pope. And who would try to start something in the middle of the day anyway?
“It’s fine, J,” You tell him. You even try to joke. “I’m sure you’ll survive one hour without me.”
When you kiss his cheek, JJ turns to look at you with his brows pinched together with worry. “Y/N...”
“Seriously, J...” You say. “It’s okay. I’ll be fine.” You whisper that last part as Pope turns to get the bags.
“You have your phone?”
You nod and pull it out of your pocket to show him. “Yes. I’ll call you if anything happens.”
As JJ walks in the opposite direction of you and Pope, you feel the tension in your shoulders get tighter. The sight of these homes gives you flashbacks. The worst part about all of this is you don’t even know who hurt you. It could’ve been anyone - a touron even. It would be easier to know who did it so you know who to avoid.
Pope notices your change in behavior but doesn’t mention it. Instead he keeps a silent eye on you and studies your every movement.
As you pass the golf course, you hear a couple cat calls and cheering from a group of teenagers. When you look up, you see Rafe, Topper, and one of their friends making their way over to you. You take a step behind Pope, hiding behind his body and keeping your eyes trained down on your shoes.
“What do we have here?” Rafe whistles as he comes closer. He looks down at the bags in your arms and the beer in Pope’s hand. “Bring us something?”
“These are already paid for,” Pope glares at them.
“Oh, right, right,” Rafe nods as if he understands. Then he takes is golf club and swings it at the brown paper bag in Pope’s arms, causing everything to spill out of it.
“Dude!”
“Sorry, man!” Rafe holds his hands up in fake surrender. He leans down to pick up a beer bottle and tosses it to his tall friend. “Trevor, you feeling thirsty?”
The guy, better known as Trevor, cracks the beer open and takes a long sip. When he looks down, he spots you and eyes your figure up and down. Then he smirks to himself and a shiver runs down your spine. You don’t like the way he’s looking at you. Like a piece of meat or someone he knows too much of.
Rafe catches his eye and smirks to himself. “Ah, yeah. I forgot. You and Routledge have some history.”
Pope looks over his shoulder at you and sees your chest rising and dropping at a quicker pace. You’re gripping the bags in your hands so tight that he can see your knuckles turning white. You look away from the group of Kooks at the golf course with a frown on your face. Something was wrong, Pope thought.
“Yeah, you could say that,” Trevor chuckles. He looks at you again and tilts his head. “What? You don’t remember me?”
“Pope...” You feel like you’re choking. How could he know you when you have no idea who he is? You don’t like where this is going.
Trevor continues, “Can’t say I blame you. You were out of your mind wasted that night -”
“What the hell is he talking about?” Pope says, looking between you and Trevor. He wasn’t one to get confrontational or angry, but he didn’t like what he was hearing. He didn’t like how you were acting. Something wasn't adding up. He knew you’ve hooked up with Kooks before, but this one was different.
“Almost as dead as her daddy,” Rafe chuckles. Something in Pope snaps and he pushes Rafe back by his shoulders. In retaliation, Rafe raises his golf club and smacks it against the middle of Pope’s back, causing him to fall down with a thump.
“Pope!” You cry and drop the bags you were holding and kneel next to him.
“Hey,” Trevor touches your shoulder to try and pull you away from the two fighting boys, but you flinch away from him.
“Don’t touch me! Get away from me!” You cry.
Trevor immediately holds up his hands in surrender and takes a step back. Your outburst causes everyone to freeze in their movements, even Rafe and Pope. The wheels in Topper’s head start to move a little quicker too. He looks between you and Trevor and feels off about your connection. You looked terrified. And Y/N Routledge was almost never terrified.
Even though you are outside, you feel claustrophobic. Your heart is beating so heavily against your ribcage that you wouldn’t be surprised if it were to break your ribs. Pope notices you’re two shades paler and having a hard time breathing. Tears are silently falling down your face and you continue to crawl away form the group of Kooks backwards.
“Y/N...” Pope says quietly.
“We should go,” Topper says. He never hated you like some of the other Kooks did. Sure you never got along, but a small part of him thought you were cool. He knew something was extremely wrong and he couldn’t help but think it had to do with their friend, Trevor. He looks at Rafe who continues to stare at you with surprise. “Dude.”
“Yeah...” Rafe says slowly. “Trev, let’s go.”
The three Kooks scatter back to the golf course. You squeeze your eyes tightly and grip the fabric of your shirt, pulling it away from your body because right now it just feels suffocating.
“Hey.” Pope crouches down near you and lightly touches your shoulder. His touch feels like an electric shock, making you flinch even further away. When you open your eyes, you’re back in some random Kook’s house on a mattress you’re unfamiliar with. “They’re gone. Hey, they’re gone.” Pope tries to be gentle with you, but he also wants to get you out of here and in a more comfortable setting.
“JJ,” You manage to say. Your throat feels on fire. “I need J-”
Pope immediately starts fumbling for his cell phone and dials his best friend’s number. He bounces on the balls of his feet as he impatiently listens to the ringing. “Come on. Come on.”
JJ answers. “Hey! Sorry I’m on my way back now. You’ll never believe how much this lady tipped me. I swear I’m coming on every -”
“JJ, shut up and listen to me. Y/N...” He glances back at you and sees you’re hunched over with your forehead resting on your knees and your fingers through your hair. “She’s having a panic attack or something. I - I don’t -”
“Where are you?” JJ’s once elated tone has dropped to a more serious one.
Pope tries explaining what part of the golf course they are near.
“Okay. I’ll be there in five minutes. Pope, get her under some shade or something. And if you can, try to get her to look at you. She needs to open her eyes to see where she is.” Pope nods, forgetting that JJ can’t see him. “Pope!”
“Oh, yeah. Sorry. Okay, doing that now.”
JJ hangs up the phone so he can run faster.
Meanwhile, Pope crouches down in front of you again and says, “Y/N/N, hey. Can you open your eyes?” Pope lightly taps your ankles. “Hey, it’s okay. It’s just me.” You slowly blink your eyes open and sniffle back the tears. Pope smiles when he sees he’s made some sort of progress. “Hey. JJ’s on his way. Why don’t we move you under some shade? It’s getting pretty hot out here. Can I help you up?”
You nod and let Pope help you up and bring you a couple feet away under a large tree. Your back rests against the bark and you try taking deep breaths to calm the swirling nausea in your stomach.
It was Trevor. It had to be Trevor. From the way he looked at you, to the innuendo Rafe made. You knew in your heart that it was Trevor who had hurt you that night.
A part of you always wanted to know who did this, but another part of you wished you never figured it out. Because now his face will haunt you forever.
About a minute later, you hear another set of footsteps quickly coming your way. You panic, your immediate thought going to Trevor. Would he come back?
But then you hear your boyfriend’s beautiful voice. “Hey.” His tone is soft and gentle. “Hey, baby. Look at me. It’s JJ.” You open your eyes and meet the lovely blue one’s you fell in love with. He grins at you and takes your hands in his.
“I’m so - sorry,” You sob, suddenly hating yourself for bringing this back up to your boyfriend and ruining Pope’s work routine. “I - I -”
“Hey,” JJ says and pulls your hands to his chest, palms down. “Remember what we did last time? Match my breathing, okay? Ready? Take a deep breath.”
Pope watches with awe silently from the sidelines. He’s never seen this side of either one of you. You so panic stricken and scared, JJ so intent with concern and intuitive.
You follow JJ’s breathing until you feel calm enough to breathe on your own. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry,” JJ shakes his head. “Don’t be sorry. Do you want to tell me what happened?”
You look down at your hands that are folded in your lap. You want to tell him. Of course you want to tell him. But you’re afraid of what happens next. You’re afraid of how JJ will respond.
“Rafe, Topper, and their friend Trevor jumped us,” Pope answers for you. Like JJ, he’s also curious about what happened. Of course he was there for the physical breakdown, but he wants to know more about what you’re going through emotionally.
“Did they hurt you?” JJ looks back at you and inspects every inch of your open skin for signs of scratches or bruises.
You shake your head. “No.”
“Then...”
“I know who it was,” You say, your voice as soft as a whisper.
“What? You mean. -” JJ’s head snaps back and forth between you and Pope. “Who?”
You dip your chin into your chest to hide your tears as they start to flow again. You take a deep breath and look back up at your boyfriend. “Trevor.”
“Who the fuck is Trevor?” JJ looks at Pope.
Pope shrugs, “I don’t know. He was golfing with the other two Kooks.”
“Where’d they go?” JJ stands up, causing both you and Pope to follow him.
“No, JJ -” You try to pull him back to you but he slips his wrist out of your grip.
“JJ!” Pope calls out to JJ who walks in the direction the other three disappeared to.
“JJ, stop!” Your voice cracks which makes JJ turn around to look at you. “Please. I just want to go home.”
JJ freezes and bites down on his bottom lip, feeling conflicted. His head is telling him to run after the Kooks and beat every single one of their faces in until he finds the one named Trevor. But his heart is telling him to walk back to you and take care of you.
“Okay,” he decides and wraps his arm around your waist. “Let’s get you home.”
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
After you fall asleep later that night, JJ tip toes out of your room and silently shuts your door behind him. You passed out early, exhausted from the panic attacks and crying. In the living room, Pope, Kie, and John B are waiting. You had no other choice but to tell John B what happened. Now that Pope knew, it felt wrong keeping it from your brother as well. Of course it caused an argument, but in the end, John B only wants the best for you and to protect you. Which is why they’re here now.
“Ready to go?” JJ looks directly at your brother.
John B holds up his car keys. “Let’s go.”
“Whoa, where do you think you’re going?” Kie grabs John B by the elbow and glares at both of them.
“Where do you think?” JJ says.
When Pope and Kie stepped out of the room to check on you, JJ and John B both secretly decided that when you fell asleep, the two of them would sneak out and find this Trevor person and give him what he deserves.
“Don’t be stupid,” Pope says, looking between the two. “You know how this works. The two of you end up getting in trouble and he gets to walk away clean.”
“I don’t care. I’ll kill him -”
“You can’t,” Kie says.
“I’m not asking for your permission, Kie!”
“Where’s the gun?” Kie says. “If you’re going to do this, I’m not letting you bring the gun. Leave it here.”
JJ looks up at John B who reluctantly nods his head for JJ to give it up. The blonde sighs and reaches into the back of his waistband and pulls it out.
“This is a bad idea,” Pope says again even though he knows the other two don’t give a shit. In a way, he kind of respects it. He would go to if he didn’t have a scholarship to worry about.
“Keep an eye on her. We’ll be back in a couple hours,” John B says.
“You better hope you are. Because if you’re not, you’re only going to be making this worse for her,” Kie tells them.
Kie’s words have both John B and JJ rethinking their decision. But only for a split second.
JJ nods. “Don’t worry. I’d never leave my girl behind.”

an archon’s jealousy
Tumblr media
pairing : zhongli x f!reader {fluff}
warnings : none! zhongli cuteness overload
word count : 1.8k
a/n : genshin has taken over my life so enjoy my favorite peepaw
the geo archon, once feared by all beings in teyvat, was known for his strength and abilities in battle, as well as his logical way of thinking and planning. his weakness? well, he’s definitely not great with emotions. especially jealousy.
Tumblr media
“Ah, this painting reminds me of when an old friend and I had been travelling together for the first time, there was-”
Zhongli turns around, smiling as he reminisces of events from hundreds of years ago, however turning into a frown quickly.
His golden eyes scan the dining room, sighing as they fail to identify a certain someone. Placing his cup of tea down onto the polished wooden table, he walks out to the private balcony area of Wangmin Restaurant, breathing in the familiar fresh air of the nation he’d known for as long as he existed.
It had been two days.
Two days since he’s spoken to his lover, two days since the small quarrel you both had in the exact restaurant he’s currently standing in.
It had been quite a trivial matter in his opinion, when a young waitress working there had just been a tad kinder to the geo archon, leaving a few light touches here and there. Even “accidentally” spilling tea over herself, putting on a show of cleaning herself.
Not noticing the dark glare of his lover from across the table, he offers the apologizing waitress a small smile, assuring her it wasn’t a big deal. As she walks away, he finally turns back to the now fuming Y/N who was shoving food down her throat to avoid speaking to him.
He chuckles softly, still unaware of the reason for your anger, “Love, slow down, the food isn’t going anywhere.”
Refusing to acknowledge his presence, you huff and continue chewing your food as if he wasn’t even there. Zhongli looks at you with a confused expression, but just before he had a chance to speak, the waitress returns.
She takes a few of your plates that were finished being used, occasionally sending small looks at your boyfriend, oblivious to the whole situation.
“I love your earring, Mr. Zhongli,” she bats her eyelashes at the man, your man, as she continues cleaning the table at record slow speed.
“Ah, thank you.” He sends a small nod her way, not noticing the way she might as well be sitting on top of him with the close proximity of their two bodies.
“Where did you get it from?” You roll your eyes while still focusing on your food, anyone could tell the way she was speaking in a faker, higher tone.
“Actually, they were gifted from an old friend of mine, we would travel together all the time and-” Zhongli goes off on one of his rants again, to the waitress’s pleasant surprise. To your shock, she takes a seat right next to your unsuspecting boyfriend who was still speaking, nodding along with his words.
The audacity of this bi-
You slam your hands on the table abruptly, stopping Zhongli in his story as he looks up at you.
You shoot the coldest stare at him, one that even the geo archon, who had fought every monster, travelled to every corner of the world, swore sent shivers through his body.
“Love?”
“I’m finished, have fun on your date,” You spat, emphasizing the last word, and you could’ve sworn you saw the waitress roll her eyes.
Leaving Zhongli still in a confused state, you stormed out of the room, not paying mind to the distant protests of your boyfriend.
Zhongli sighs, snapping out of his thoughts, leaning against the railing of the balcony. He had walked out and tried to find you, but failed and you hadn’t appeared since.
After finally consulting Childe, the last person he’d ever want to speak to, about why you had acted like the way you did, he simply laughed at the man, claiming that you had been feeling jealous.
That had left Zhongli even more confused. Jealous? He was simply sharing his tales with a curious person, what was there to be jealous of?
He sighs again, ready to head back into the dining room until he spots a familiar figure below him.
You were standing below the balcony he was on, not seeming to realize he was there. Zhongli breathes a sigh of relief, oh how he missed seeing you. About to go down and surprise you, he stops in his tracks when he sees a young man walk up to you and begin talking.
An unfamiliar feeling seeps through his body when you laugh at something the stranger said, a wonderful sound he thought was reserved for him, and him only.
You probably knew each other, that’s why you guys looked so close, right? Friends can laugh at each other, of course there was nothing wrong with the scene unfolding before the archon. That’s why the man’s hand had reached towards a stray strand of hair and tucked it behind your ear, right?
Zhongli grits his teeth, and makes his way down the restaurant as fast as his feet could take him.
He could hear you giggling upon walking out the restaurant’s doors, and quickly makes his way to you.
Walking up behind you, he slips an arm around your waist and pulls you softly back against his chest.
You let out a surprised yelp, ready to attack whoever was touching you, until you turned and saw that it had just been your boyfriend, who seemed to be seething at the moment.
“Zhongli..?” Something about him seemed a little different, maybe it was the way he glared daggers into the other man who had just been talking to you and touching you.
If looks could kill? Let’s just say The Wangsheng Funeral Parlor has an extra client today.
“Hey love, I missed you,” Zhongli presses a kiss to your cheek, “Who might this be?”
A bit flustered from the contact, you looked at the other man who seemed on the verge of peeing himself right there, and had to suppress a laugh.
“Ah, this is just a friend I met a few days ago when I was exploring, he-“
Before you could finish your sentence, the man stutters out an incoherent sentence and almost trips over himself running off in the other direction.
You raise an eyebrow, turning your head back to look at Zhongli who was still holding you protectively against him. He had created a small yellow meteor in his hand and was currently levitating it above his palm in a threatening manner.
He turns to you, putting the meteor away, smiling as he presses a kiss to your forehead.
“Zhongli, you scared him away.”
He puts on a thinking face, nodding slowly.
“Oh, no.”
“Oh, no— That’s it? You probably scared the poor man into thinking you were going to murder him or somethin-”
He chuckles and raises your chin up to face him with one finger, “Then maybe next time, he should think before touching something that belongs to me.”
You huff, cheeks tinting the lightest shade of red before pushing him away.
“Whatever, I’m going now.”
You start to walk away, not before Zhongli catches your arm and stops you.
“Love, are you still angry?”
You could hear the concern in your boyfriend’s voice, and your heart softens a bit. In truth, you had already forgotten the incident back at the restaurant a few days ago and was about to apologize today when the man from before had stopped you.
A lightbulb went off in your head, so you decide to play with him a little longer.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Snatching your hand back from his grasp, you continue walking away from your surprised boyfriend.
He quickly follows you, unsure of how to continue. He couldn’t just ask you if you had been jealous, could he?
As your boyfriend got lost in his thoughts of how to ask, you almost laughed at his intense thinking face while nervously walking beside you.
“Uh, I-,” He cleared his throat before speaking.
“I’m sorry for upsetting you that day, I did not realize that it would have made you feel jealous.”
He takes both of your hands in his, softly enveloping them as he continues.
“From now on, I promise that I’ll only share my stories with you, and you only, so don’t worry, love.”
He smiles at you, as you suddenly burst out in laughter.
“What is so funny?” Zhongli asks, confused.
“Nothing, nothing at all, baby,” You finally recover from your laughing and wrap your arms around his waist.
Leaning your head against his chest, you couldn’t help but smile at the way your boyfriend thought you were upset because he was sharing his stories with another person, when you had just been jealous of another woman being so close to him. It was adorable.
Deciding not to tease him any further, you lift your head up from his chest to press a kiss against his lips.
His eyes brighten instantly. “So, does this mean you forgive me?”
If Zhongli was a dog, his tails would be wagging expectantly at you with puppy dog eyes right now.
You giggle, nodding at him. “Of course I forgive you, just don’t talk to other girls like that again.”
You pout, as he chuckles and leans down to give you another kiss.
“I promise, love.” He softly strokes your hair, running the strands through his fingers.
“I also didn’t like seeing you with that man, so don’t let anyone besides me touch you, alright?”
You smile against him, nodding and opening your mouth to speak again when your stomach suddenly rumbles.
Eyes widening, you push away a now laughing Zhongli, embarrassed.
“I assume you’re hungry, my love?” He teases at you, taking your hand in his as he begins to walk the both of you back to Wangmin Restaurant.
“Who was the one who cut my meal short two days ago? I barely had anything to eat recently because I didn’t have any mora on me.” You take your hand out of his hold, crossing your arms and looking the other way.
He laughs softly at you, taking your hand back and kissing your knuckles softly.
“Ah, you haven’t been eating welI?” He looks at you with concern laced in his golden eyes.
“I apologize, darling, but… I have something to confess to you.”
You turn to him, curious at his words. “What is it?”
“I..do not have mora on me at the moment either.”
“What?! You’re literally the god of mora, Zhongli, but you don’t even-“
He cuts you off short with a kiss, smirking against your lips as he feels you blush.
Pulling away, he chuckles and shrugs. “We can go ask Childe, come on.”
You laugh and continue walking with him, “Poor Childe, at least he’s useful for one thing.”
Zhongli lets out a laugh, as you two walk off, hand in hand, searching for your human wallet.

“Happy Birthday My Windborne Bard!”
(Sorry, it’s a little late)
Venti x GN! Listener
June 16th, an Important date. It was important because it was Venti’s Birthday. You and Venti have been together for a long time, and are practically attached at the hip. You were even a part of the Stormterror Incident to help Dvalin even though Venti was admittedly against you participating in fear of something happening to you, but you still stayed by him regardless.
You wanted to make this birthday super special for him, showing him your love and appreciation for everything he’s done for you. You start recalling everything he’s ever done for you, from writing songs for you to taking you on joyrides on Dvalin to just being there for you. You smile fondly remembering these moments, and proceed onwards to make this Venti’s best birthday ever!
For weeks, You, with the help of Lumine, Paimon, and your other friends in Mondstadt, have been planning a big surprise party for Venti. You’ve been constantly running around constantly trying to make sure that everything is in order, in terms of food, drink, decorations and the “Final Surprise.” And now you’re here with Lumine and Paimon, in the late afternoon, making sure everything is set and ready to go.
“Food and Drinks…” you start off listing the materials. “Various alcohol and drink selections for everyone, and Dandelion Wine for Venti…Check.” Lumine responds. “Okay then, next is the cake.” You list off next. “Fresh, Baked, and Ready! Check!” Lumine confirms. “Alrighty so far, so good, next…are the decorations!” You continue. “In Angel’s Share, set up as we speak!” Paimon suddenly exclaims. “Okay and finally, The Big Finale.” You say finishing off the list. “Albedo and Klee have finished working on it, and Albedo has set it to activate at the designated time!” Paimon exclaims proudly.
You put down the list and smile brightly. “Okay! Looks like everything is ready to go! Now all that’s left is to find Venti, and bring him back to the tavern!” Lumine nods, along with Paimon, and says “Alright Paimon and I will go to Angel’s Share and prepare everyone. Try not to take too long~,” Lumine smirks knowingly. You blush and chuckle nervously “Heh heh we won’t.”
Afterwards, both of you part ways and go to do their assigned tasks. You run in the direction of Windrise having a strong feeling that Venti would be there, sitting at the base of Vanessa’s Tree and playing a tune while enjoying the calming breeze. Luckily, he was there and you ran faster to reach him while calling out loudly “Hey! Venti!” He looks up and sees you and starts smiling as bright as the sun, while shouting back to you “Hey Love!” He holds his arms wide open and you jump into them and hug him tightly, while he simultaneously spins you around.
When he finishes spinning you, he continues to hold you close in his arms and gives you a kiss on the lips. You pull back with a blush on your cheeks and a smile on your face as you ask “How has your birthday been so far,Ven?” He then smiles and recites everything that has happened to him. “Today has been Amazing! So many Wishes from Mondstadt’s citizens and our friends! And my performances provided me with mora that doesn’t seem to end! But I’ve missed you my Windblume, Where have you been?” You internally panic, but quickly recover and answer him “Oh me? I was just running some last minute errands, but now I'm yours for the rest of the day! So…What do you want to do, Birthday Bard?”
He stands with a look of mock thought and says with a cheeky grin “Well~…I guess we could go to Angel’s Share to enjoy a nice cool glass of dandelion wine together~!” “Heh heh, All according to plan~!” you thought to yourself, but you answered him in a convincing tone “Of course! Dandelion wine sounds great!” In his excitement Venti lets go of you, grabs your hand and pulls you into the direction of Angel’s Share. In no time at all, thanks to fast running and the power of anemo, you two arrive at the tavern in the evening. In his excitement, Venti opens the door and leads you inside, but everything is dark. “Huh? That’s weird, the tavern doesn’t usually close this early. What's going on?” Venti wondered out loud
Then Suddenly…
SURPRISE!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY VENTI!
*POP* *POP* *POP*
The room lit up in a golden hue, confetti fell slowly to the ground, and the sight before him nearly brought him to tears. In front of him were his friends, Lumine, Paimon, Amber, Jean, Lisa, Kaeya, Barbera, Noelle, and Eula were standing there with smiles on their faces and empty poppers in their hands. Diluc was also there, standing behind the counter of the bar, holding an empty popper, and wearing a tiny smile. The room around him was decorated beautifully, streamers of green and gold decorated the ceiling of the tavern along with wreaths of cecilia flowers hanging on the wooden columns. There was a table of various foods, like Apples, Sweet Madames, Barbatos Ratatouille, Mondstadt Grilled Fish, and his Birthday Cake along with a variety of drinks and spirits, topped off with a vase full of cecilias at both ends of the table.
“W-What’s all this?” Venti asked with a shocked, shaky voice while looking around at everyone awaiting an answer. “It's a surprise party for you, Tone-Deaf Bard!” Paimon answers in her loud squeaky voice. Lumine jumps in saying, “Yup! We’ve all pitched in and helped to put together this party for you!” Kaeya then jumps in and adds in a suave, teasing tone, “Yes and none of this wouldn’t have been possible if not for your lover. They went through all the planning and set-up, making sure that everything turns out perfectly just for you.”
Venti turns to you, processing everything and then finally asking “Windblume, you did this all for me?” You look at him with a shy smile and soft eyes, “Yeah! I wanted to do this for you! Plus I thought it would be fun to have a celebration with all our friends! So…do you like it?” Everyone stood in silence for a few minutes, before Venti answered “Like it? I LOVE IT! This is amazing, no one has ever gone to this extent for me before! This is the best birthday ever, thank you windblume!” He hugs you close and kisses you softly, and everyone watching gives a simultaneous and teasing “Aww~!”. You pull back from the kiss with a blush on your face and then turn to everyone. “Alright, let’s get this party started!” and everyone cheered.
The events that followed were fun and memorable. Everyone sang happy birthday to Venti and enjoyed the delicious cake. Some of the others got up on the stage to sing, Jean and Lisa sang a duet together, same with Lumine and Paimon, and Eula begrudgingly joined Amber to do the same. There was also a drink competition between Lisa, Kayea, and Venti, scarcely enough they all seemed pretty evenly matched and didn’t even seem that drunk after having a multitude of drinks between each other. After the competition all three of them were buzzed and Diluc and Noelle conversed with each other while cleaning up the remnants of their competition. This was definitely a celebration Venti would hold near and dear to his heart.
“Thank you Windblume, this was the best birthday ever! I’ll never forget this” He smiles fondly and you return the gesture tenfold. “I’m glad you liked it, but there is one more thing left.” Venti looks at you confused, “Oh? And what would that be-?” Suddenly, muffled noises start sounding from the outside….
*BOOM*
*POP*
*BANG*
Venti suddenly pops up after hearing the muffled noises and looks at you, and you respond saying “Ha! Right on cue!” You grab Venti’s hand and lead him outside to the plaza, with the others following you two. When you both arrive you exclaim “Venti look up!” Venti complies and the sight before his eyes, makes his heart warm up.
Fireworks light up the night sky in various colors of green, yellow, turquoise, and blue. Each one becomes bigger, brighter and more beautiful than the last. Suddenly, Klee runs up to you two with Albedo following her. “Yeah! Operation Big Surprise was a success!” Klee exclaims with excitement and glee. You smile and laugh softly “Heheh, thank you so much for your help, Klee! And thank you too, Albedo! I couldn’t have gotten this ready without you both!” They both smile and nod at you in return.
Venti then pulls you close into a hug and whispers “Thank you so much, Windblume! I love you!” You nuzzle into him and say “You’re welcome Venti! I love you too!”
“Happy Birthday My Windborne Bard!”
