Choso, Chapter Six.
Pairing Choso x fem!reader Other Characters Yuji Itadori, Kugisaki Nobara, Original male character Content hurt, drama, friendship, violence, slow burn romance Warnings domestic violence mentions, physical abuse, mild language
It was eight in the morning on a Sunday. Yuji and Choso's day off.
Yuji was seating on the counter eating his cereal while scrolling through his phone, only to open his mouth when Choso emerged from the corridor.
"¡Geesh! ¡You look like you got hit by a train!"
The purple color around his eyes was much more defined, and his hair was loose and disheveled.
"¿Yeah? Next time you order something and a package appears at our door just make sure it belongs to you." Choso replied with a hoarse voice.
"¿Is the neighbour mad or something?" Yuji asked, filling his mouth with cereal and milk.
"She has a name ¿You don't remember?. ¿Isn't that why you showed up to her apartment a while back?" Choso turned around facing his brother as he leaned back against the counter with both arms resting on each side for support, waiting for some water to boil. "¿Just to be nosey?"
Yuji swallowed his breakfast, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand and then looked up to meet Choso's eyes.
"I raised you to be polite, not an intruder."
"Cool ¿So what about last night?" Yuji quickly furrowed his brows looking annoyed as hell, imitating Choso's thick voice and using the counter to reproduce the sound of his fist banging loudly on your door. "¡It's Choso, open up! ¿Aren't you so polite yourself?"
This time, Choso leaned forward bracing both fists on the counter, ogling Yuji, but he didn't feel so intimidated this time.
"I'm just looking out for you. I heard everything, Choso. She's another lonely girl, with an ex, and issues like-"
Choso slammed his fist against the counter but didn't measure his strenght, making Yuji stand up immediately to run to his side at the sight of Chos's pained face as he rubbed his arm from shoulder to wrist with teary eyes.
"¿Do you need a painkiller? ¡I'll get it for you!."
Yuji looked at him with a sad face, thinking that it was all his fault for not keeping his mouth shut.
"No, I'll look for it. Just finish my tea, I'll be in the bathroom for a while."
Choso took a deep breath, holding back a groan, and disappeared down the hall while Yuji kept his head down, turning off the stove in the kitchen without saying another word for the rest of the morning.
You had everything ready for tonight. Opening a club on a Sunday was unconventional, but it was the norm for a gentlemen's club. Elite people, the occasional well-known figure, and people of simply unattainable social status would be there. That was what it was all about, serving the cream of Japan's high society. The fact that you had been considered for such a high-level full-time job gave you relief, and you felt that if you were considered suitable, it was because you hadn't done things that badly in the past. You have always been acclaimed for your treatment and discretion in each event, in addition to maintaining an impeccable presence, and knowing the rules of etiquette very well.
It sounded a little weird, but for someone who didn't finish college, you could be proud of yourself in other ways. In addition, it gave you an excuse to pamper yourself quite often and you could spend more money on makeup, masks and treatments. You spent the whole afternoon cleaning up, ironing your uniform and paying attention to your hands, though your mind managed to gravitate to Choso's words from the night before.
'¿This is for rich people right? ¿Don't you think that rich son of a bitch will be there?'
You sighed, tilting your head as you struggled to paint your nails with your non-dominant hand, you had the worst pulse.
'There are a lot of rich assholes in Tokyo'
But then you thought 'what if'. Then again, not everyone was a filthy rich asshole in Tokyo.
'¿Have you ever thought of your mother too? Mine passed away as well.'
The fact that Choso had opened up to you felt more like a necessecity coming from him. The fact that you had grown up without a mother had definitely hit home for him. You made him feel close to her with only a few words, you saw that shaky breath coming out of his barely open mouth. He needed to be told that he was doing things right. You didn't feel like Choso though, he was so attached to that figure, and you noticed that he didn't even bother to mention his father. You didn't bother either, only to say that he had abandoned you, but the way Choso felt things so close to his heart was something that you didn't have in you. It seemed like it was vital to him, but you couldn't identify with that. Perhaps the only time you thought about your mother after so many years was the time Koji had talked to you about having a family.
You huffed, blow drying the nail polish. It's like everything always came down to that fucking moment, but you couldn't help it. Somehow, you would have fulfilled with Koji something that she didn't get the chance to do. You felt driven to have your own little bunch, but after everything that happened to you, you started rejecting the idea as a whole.
You thought you had been so sure of what commitment meant, but the idea no longer appealed to you, losing a part of yourself that was tied to your deepest desires. You had yourself, and that was what you needed right now.
'I've lived in autopilot most of my life.'
You checked the time on the clock and decided it was best to start dressing up, leaving your hair for last.
'You can be our family.'
It didn't matter the type, how big or small, or how nice, your trauma wouldn't let you approach that concept. It was too painful at the moment. 'I can't just feed off of your kindness.'
A touch of perfume here and there, and you were ready.
Yuji had gone to spend the afternoon with his friends in Harajuku, leaving Choso alone in their apartment. Playing with a hair tie between his lips, he looked at the time, and immediately detected the sound of your keys coming from the hallway.
'She's going to that damn place. She's gone back to living on her own and I can't get in her way, it isn't right... but I- can't help but want to take care of her.'
He looked down at the fancy card, whose material shone alongside the engraving in silver letters.
'Grand Hyatt Tokyo's Exclusive Private Gentleman's Club'
As soon as you arrived at the location, you were instructed to enter through the back door. You walked down a long white corridor until you came across the locker room, finding a wooden cubicle with your name on it, ready for you to leave your belongings. There were at least twenty five other girls who had been called for the job.
You had to hurry up before they locked the cubicles with a code that none of you actually knew. Your belongings would be safe, but it was more about the privacy of their club members. They couldn't have their waitresses and other staff taking photos inside the place, and from your experience you couldn't say it surprised you. The club was only for men, but they could bring a plus one each evening if they wanted to. Just one. It could be a man, but most of the time it was a woman. ¿The wife? Not so sure about that one, if you had to be completely honest with yourself.
Chatting with the staff wasn't prohibited, but that was about it.
Choso hadn't been the only one who cared about you. Nanami too, only he was a little more knowledgeable about the environment. Kento told you to send him a message, regardless of the time, to let him know that you had made it home safely.
"Shit! I always do everything last minute. I forgot to bring hair ties."
The girl next to you looked a little nervous, but you immediately extended your help to her.
"Here you have." you told her with a tight lip smile.
"Thank you very much! I swear I organize everything, but no matter how hard I try, something always escapes me."
You laughed with her, thinking that sometimes you could be like that too. She tied her short orange hair into a neat ponytail. Only her bangs covered the right side of her forehead.
"¿First time at something like this or…?"
"No, I've done this before. I'm just a nervous wreck at first, but once I get out there everything changes."
She was right, somehow everything changed. It was a role that you had to fulfill; to create an environment for those people who only went to the club to squander, but their pockets would never feel it, giving the false illusion that everything there could be free if you just asked for it. You intoxicated them with alcohol while they gave off expensive smoke from their cigars.
"I'm Nobara, Kugisaki Nobara."
"Y/l/n, Y/n."
Over the course of a few weeks, you and Nobara had grown quite close to each other. You learned that she came from a small town outside of Tokyo and had moved to the city to pursue her passion for modeling, but that had proven to be quite difficult at the moment, so she ended up as a waitress. Listening to her talk from time to time made you question your own passions. It somehow made you feel like, in a universe where Koji would have genuinely loved you no matter what, you would have settled for being a conventional housewife.
'It's not bad though, to have a home and take care of it. To share it with a loved one. ¿Isn't that what most people aspire to?'
You didn't go into too much detail, but Nobara was very engaging, so you couldn't help but share a few things with her.
"Gosh... I know it was your home too, but I bet you were relieved that he kicked you out, I mean, a while later, right?"
"Yeah, I guess. It was like being spat out of hell."
"Don't get me wrong but, you look like the type of person that it's too hard on herself. ¿Don't you ever stop to catch a wave?"
"I mean, I do. Sometimes." you shrugged.
"Hm, I'm not buying it. You think you pay attention to yourself, but getting dolled up to look good at the workplace is far from it being attentive to your mind and soul. ¿Are you really in touch with yourself?"
"Look at you, all philosophical."
Your rolled your eyes at Nobara and she just simply shook her head as if you were hopeless.
A slow night in the club room allowed for a bit of chit-chat, as you watched the various men in suits converse with each other, move around the club, or simply enjoy the company of their one and only guest for the night.
"Looks like Mr. Kiyama decided that his daughter could stay up 'til late."
"¡Nobara!" you nudged her gently, trying to muffle your little laughter behind the round service tray.
"Nasty." Nobara wrinkled her nose.
To be honest, it's not like you paid attention to those things, but you had to agree with her on that one. Mr. Kiyama was married, from an aristocratic family, 68 years old. Multiple marriages. His family was fairly recognized, especially his 22-year-old daughter, who was an influencer and social media model, the same age as the girl he had sitting on his lap at that exact moment.
"Hey, ¿what do you think of that one sitting over there? He looks about our age, ¿doesn't he?"
"¿Would you date someone from here?" You looked at her in disbelief.
"Well, no, but that guy sure is pretty handsome."
She pointed her head in the direction of his table, and as soon as you looked at him your heart stopped. Nobara noticed that you didn't take your eyes off him, mistaking your reaction for something else.
"Totally right ¿Wasn't I? A little candy for the eye never hurt anybody."
"Koji" you said under your breath.
"¿Are you okay? You turned pale." Nobara whispered worriedly.
"I have- I have to…"
The serving tray slipped from your fingers and landed on the gleaming hardwood floor. As you took a step back, you bumped into the drinks cart causing the sound to cut through the stillness of the environment, calling the attention of the men who were there. When you looked up, your insides filled with panic, seeing Koji staring into your eyes with a completely cold expression.
Without thinking it twice, you immediately left the place keeping your head down. Nobara followed you with her eyes. She just couldn't leave her place and leave the room unattended. You headed straight to the back and explained that you needed to leave as you didn't feel well, and it showed. The manager returned your belongings and offered to call you a cab, which you appreciated.
You couldn't wait to get home, because even though you were already outside the building, you still felt like your legs were about to fail you any minute now. Once you opened the door to the cab, you felt a hand grab your by the wrist, making you turn abruptly and lose your balance.
"¿What do we have have here, hm?"
You were face to face with Koji now.
His hair tickled your cheek as he leaned down slightly to tell the driver it would only be a few minutes. A shiver ran down your spine. You couldn't see him, but you swore you could hear his fake smile as he spoke to the driver.
Koji was only pretending, but with you he wouldn't. The last time you had seen him like this he looked exactly the same, like a tall and powerful tower, blocking out the sunlight. Tasteless concrete, cold and heartless. His arms wrapped around you tightly.
You thought it ironic, that if it weren't for him right now you'd be on your knees, feeling the world spin around you.
"It's been hard, looking for you. I really regretted letting you go the way I did." he smirked devishly "¿You are Nanami's princess now huh?"
Your eyes watered as you gasped for breath through the tiny space between your lips. You were trapped by a cruel and vile snake, making your eyes water.
"He's got you living in his little castle."
Showing his teeth in a high-disgust cue, he let you go. Even then, you were not able to say a single word. Koji grabbed your face and carelessly raised your head so that your gaze landed right on his, sinking his fingers into the tender, reddish flesh of your cheeks. You barely felt the pain of his nails ripping your skin when he brought his face close to yours. Your noses collided and the flesh of his lips boiled against yours, as you breathed into each other's mouth.
"He wasn't so clever, tell him I said that."
He gave you one last look and kissed your temple, followed by a chilling smile, before he turned around to walk back into the building.
You followed him with your eyes, watching as he gestured the doorman, and the man returned his greeting cordially. Koji adjusted his tie and fixed the collar of his shirt, finally getting in the the elevator.
You got into the cab almost desperately, trying to hide how shaken you were. After giving your adress to the driver you let out a deep, silent breath and grabbed your phone to call Nanami on the way home.
"¿Miss, are you okay?"
"I'm- just..."
"You can open the window, fine by me."
The nerves and stress of the moment only made your body feel even heavier than it was.
"N...no, I-"
The feeling of losing control was even stronger.
"¡Miss, miss!"
