thinking about this reminds me of the one bonus scene in nb season 1 (not sure which lesson but i think i talked about it) where beel blamed himself for not telling lucifer about the banshee when it happened and, ultimately, for lilith's death

he and lucifer are so similar in terms of how the feel the need to protect their family at all costs, even if it means killing themselves in the process, and i really wish we got more of the two of them together bc i adore their dynamic

A RANDOM TGR IDEA I HAD

focuses on gordon n thomas for the majority, but also looks into the engines' relationship with thomas; and what they (don't) know about our fav blue tank engine

tgr somehow lessens the severity of a boiler explosion (thats instant fatality for crew, nearby people and in this case prolly gordon too) so i'm gonna pull some shit out my ass to make it a crownsheet failure and not a wholeass boiler explosion

so the crownsheet failure (and not some fucked up "boiler explosion") puts him (gordon) out of the race

sorry but after i found out it was supposed to be a boiler explosion i lost my shit because thats not how that sh!t works (if it was done properly we wouldve lost gordon for good probably which is just.. no.)

since thomas happens to be in the neighbourhood he takes gordon back to sodor/the steamworks (idfk where the race actually took place 😭 - probably gonna have the accident take place on sodor for logistics's sake)

so gordon's crew are hospitalised/hes out of commission for a bit because of his crownsheet (and a waterguage failure or smth, which led to the crownsheet failure)

flying scotsman decides not to be a little shit of a little brother and offers to take gordon's express trains over until gordon + crew are better (enough) to work again

scotsman also stays in tidmouth for a while

post gordon & crew recovery there needs to be an event which leads to thomas becoming a workaholic to not think about past events, most notably he offers to take percy's night mail train a lot more often

this then leads to some gordon-knows-shit-about-thomas-that-the-rest-dont-know moments @ tidmouth (other engines (looking at you edward) will also have other things to say)

scotsman is still staying there because plot (will think of how at some point)

the 'original' crew (thomas, edward, henry, gordon, james + percy) get the lore on thomas, and i want to use this oppertunity to explore thomas's past as a second spec LBSCR E2 as well as his friendships with the crew

the amount of ✨guilt✨ the rest feel after hearing all the thomas lore (hes the last of his siblings left, got sold to sodor cheap/barely after he was built, was built for shunting)

[personal hc/ideas] had a lot of issues w tender engines on the mainland, not helped by gordon/james/henry either when he first got to sodor

(even though he was sodor's first official purchase i'm gonna turn a blind eye to this because i want the aspect of the strike trio's behaviour to be explored, it also gives them all more depth i think?)

edit to the point above; the strike trio could have seen him working and were like: lets bully this little tank engine even though he's been here longer than us; so Thomas is now still one of the first on Sodor/first of the NWR's official purchases

one night, when thomas arrives late, the rest feel guilty (levels vary) and thomas comes to the conclusion that when he was working they had a chat about what they all knew about him ect and he offers to debunk/elaborate on shit

that last point will prolly be the last chapter or i could add an epilogue post apology arc n theyre all chill n working

actually that’s one of the scenes i’m most excited for and most dreading adding. we made a backstory oc and im SO attached to him and im excited to post a thing out there w him but. ough. whatever cringe is dead i’ll get there eventually and brute force my way into attaching you to our funky little robot guy

also love that this fic forced me to be decided on a docv characterization that i have to stick to. he may be a canon guy to martyn’s vtuber lore but he’s my oc now too

the funny thing abt blindsided is i know all the plot chronologically but now how to Present it which is part of why i haven’t continued too much. eventually i will but until then know that one of the scenes im sitting on which has been fully written is one i think about constantly. hopefully when i post it cherri’ll let free the comic she did for it

and… it was just lamplight’s birthday and i did all my appreciation for the fic and its readers then, but god. i love this fic so much and i love you all who have read it and been so kind about it. the amount of popularity it has makes it a bit nerve wracking to work on, but i still really want to see it finished. i hope to see the bulk of it done by this time next year!

So I was chilling on my bed and he just kept screaming on and on and on about how he needs to get back into his body and that he’ll kill me as soon as he as a body and that he’s the strongest and blah blah blah the usual stuff and I was tired of it! Like Jesus man I know you don’t have lungs but take a breather damn. So I talked to him. I said “hey can you like shut the fuck up? It’s really annoying that you keep screaming at me all the time” and he was surprised?? Like mf did you not know I could hear you? Were you just screaming into the void? Damn I’m not even that determined to just rant. But anyways he freaks out about how I can hear him and I freak out about how he didn’t know and we both kinda freaked out. But now he’s quiet. I think he’s pondering. I don’t know if he can hear all my thoughts but if he can I don’t think that’s very fair. Like I only hear what he’s “saying” to me not everything he thinks. Sukuna got mad at me bc I called him kuna so now I call him that just to piss him off, I personally think I deserve to be a little annoying after TWO WEEKS of nonstop screaming. A little nickname won’t hurt him. Uhh when he’s not screaming or threatening me he’s pretty alright I guess. your gifs! how do you color them? epecially with like an almost desaturated look and strong blacks but with red lips?

hiya!! yes this is a very good question and I dont know if I have all the right answers to them BUT I do have a method I use.

I'm guessing this is refering to my recent lewis gifs so I'm gonna use those to explain my process!

so here's my how I get from this to this. chaotic explanation for gifs w low saturation below !!

context: this is a lil diff then mb other situations and so far from perfect bc black skin is a lot more complex to colour and get right when its lowly saturated bc u r always on the verge of either whitewashing or getting the undertones wrong so this is far from perfect but its the most recent recording I have of low saturated colouring.

ok lets go!

so first off I expect you to understand the basics of gifmaking so I'm not covering any of that, just colouring. cool? cool.

okay, firstly, when I get a gifset I first just look at the basics I'm working w,

in this case you can see its understurated as all hell, its night and there's a strong blue light which changes so many things.

so first thing I like doing for any gifsets but especially low saturated is to grab my curves and then grab the best white I can find which in this case. are his teeth!

so, I'm grabbing the little white dropper tool and clicking on his teeth, this makes it that photoshop tries to whitebalance the whole pic in one go

then I adjust the contrast and some of the layers a bit to make it a lil bit better, it still kinda sucks but u can see some life get into his face here yk.

then my next step most of the time is colour balance and exposure, colour balance neutralizes it more, when smth is THIS blue I throw a bunch of reds on it, bc lewi's skin has a lot of yellow undertones I try not to go to crazy w yellow and use a lil blue to neutralize it.

then I throw on exposure to bring the contrast back in. to which I tend to throw another layer of colour balance on top. there's a lot of colour balance happening whe you try n bring lowly saturated stuff back to life

then for my personal style w the lips/blush situation I go into hue saturation, slide the slider alllll the way to the end of the red and into the purple and up that saturation so u get this (and another layer of color balance to neutralize ofc)

then for lewis because he has a dark complexion I'm going into hue/saturation again and deepening his skintone just a lil bit by grabbing all the reds til yellow, upping the saturation and lowering the lightness, this is a technique that comes from this amazing tutorial that I stick to a LOT when it comes to lewis

then we go into selective colour, this is where style, opinion and a lot of undertone knowledge comes in. I like upping the blue when a gif has such a colour light blasted on a face and to get the skintones to match someone's actual skintone I sometimes look up posts from the person's instagram and use that as reference to make sure I dont mess it up toooo bad.

but a LOT of selective colour is vibes and seeing what looks good. and, another layer of colour balance.

then for the last layer, I tend to just add a little bit of the hue/saturation to deepen his tone and up the blue in this case w lil bit of brightness/contrast.

it doesnt look like it changes a lot but it has its just working out lil kinks yk

and then ur done!!! after 20 thousand layers of colour balance u got a semi normal coloured gif!! everyone cheer!!

anyways gonna rant now

veryn is a gremlin who is a lot like me in real life but more my my ideal version of myself. He is high energy and chaotic and loud but he can be serious when he needs to be. He has chronic RBF (Resting Bedroomeyes Face)

Matthew is chill and quiet and worries and lot and does this cute little worries gentle smile that veryn freaking falls for. He seems like he doesn’t do any chaos crap but then he goes and does some wild thing and you realize why veryn fell in love with him. He is covered in scars bc of various stuff he accidentally got involved with.

veryn lives half in the woods and half in an appartement. He has wings. Sometimes he has horns and these dark on his face and shoulders but that only appears when he’s in very stressful situations.

Matthew lives in an appartement with his sister who is named Katie and has a job or goes to college, I haven’t decided which yet

they are both in their young twenties, no more that 24.

Matthew somehow gets some sort of forestry Wiley thing like veryn has but idk how. All I know is that he gets this long whipping tail with a tuft at the end which is the thing in the back of one of the picrews of him.

Matthew is covered in scars bc veryn is in the middle of this big situation where he’s fighting against these magical eldritch entities and Matthew at one point finds him in the woods fighting them and tries to help and then gets beaten up and bitten by magical snakes and almost dies. That is where most of his scars come from (he has a scar that looks like a dinsosaur on his left side just beneath his rib cage. It’s called the dinoscar) but some various other events give him lil other scars

Veryn is much better at defending himself because he has been having to fight for much longer and so does t have as many obvious scars. He does have on long one on his neck because enemies tries to slice it at one point but he lived.

Matthew usually wears a black turtleneck and this tan cardigan looking jacket. Some of the picrews I used didn’t have that option so I had to make due.

Veryn usually wears a bright green shirt about the color of the “Draft saved!” Pop up that happens in tumblr when you take ages to write a post. Then he wears a brown jacket on top and black or brown pants and some brown boots. He basically dresses kinda like a redneck but when you see the clothes on him you cannot see anything but skinny gay forest being.

Oh yeah Veryn’s wings look like the brown variant of a tawny Eagle. Basically. Except a little more brown and a little less white and dots/stripes.

I stayed up till one am last night writing a (rather spicy) fic for them. I will share SOME of it here in a different post. I will also show some art of these two in a different post. Stay tuned, anyone who’s interested!! Eventually I will probably make some sort of book or smth about these two. Yes Ik I use tropes and it’s not super realistic in a lot of ways but I understand that and I don’t really care because I’m just making the story to be however its best to me and cringe culture is dead .

not just me, my friends, my family, the ppl i love more than anything else in this world, have suffered enormously bc of His actions and bc of Your support of those actions

It’s another day. Just like always.

Half-asleep, Yura glances at the door, halfway through his breakfast. His mother’s standing there. She’s already fully dressed, while her son is still in last night’s clothes. He hasn’t had much energy as of late. It’s not like he ever has any energy, even more as of late, with the trip to the zone coming up... Not to mention everything that’s happened with Dmitry.

Yura grunts at the thought of that… *monster. 

Why didn’t he stick around? Maybe he’d have been able to convince Sergei to let him stay, or at the very least, not report him. Maybe he could have helped Dima escape. Maybe he could have seen the police coming and warned him. Maybe if he had used his brain, he’d have told Sanya to let Dima stay at his place and avoided all of this. But, no amount of *maybes is going to change the fact that he’s gone. Dead, maybe, for all they know.

The door clicks shut. He���s alone now. Anya is either at school (Is there school today? What day is it?) or, more likely, at Olya’s right now. She probably won’t be back for some time. Yura will be all by himself until then, getting swallowed up by unnecessary feelings.

… Whatever. He only knew him for a week. He shouldn’t care. His eyes shouldn’t sting at the memory of the guy. It doesn’t matter that Yura wasted so much time and money helping him out. Feeding him, giving him a place to stay, hanging out with him even though he was *such a pain in the ass.. But none of that matters now. Never will matter, because he’s gone.  The only thing that matters is that he- *it, Yura corrects himself - killed a few people in Sergei’s flat.

… Well, not really people. Not ones that matter, anyway. Three or so cops. Blew up their heads, Sanya said, that it looked like that’s what happened. Yura got the feeling she didn’t tell him more than she had to during their phone call. It was clear that she wasn’t pleased with how things turned out. Maybe she was hoping Sergei could help Dima. Let him live with them.  Find some place for him to stay, at least.

Yura can’t find the strength to not blame her for this. The rational side of him argued that she was the *least to blame, actually, she didn’t know this would happen. Most likely, she didn’t even know that Dima’s a mutant. Still. Though the final nail in his (hopefully only metaphorical) coffin was decided by Sergei, *she took Dima to him. She should have known.. but, how could she have? There was no way for her to know.

A frustrated groan escapes the teen. There’s really no need to be thinking that much about him. About *it.

He groans again, frustrated by his inability to call Dmitry what he is. It’s not like he didn’t know the truth all along, either. Again, he internally reprimands himself for getting attached. Sanya isn’t to blame here- no, she’s not the one responsible for all of this. Maybe for getting him reported so quickly, but that was always going to happen, one way or another. Better soon than later, the teen thinks. Before he let that not entirely uncomfortable feeling grow more than it already has.

Before he can ponder this any further, his phone buzzes. With one hand, he rubs his eyes, with the other he picks up his phone.

*We need to talk, a message from none other than Mr Kazarin himself. The tone of the message makes him sound like he wants to break up, Yura thinks to himself. Funny. Maybe it is one. Yura runs a hand through his hair, staring at the message. His stalker times are over before they even started, his only hope at making it in this godforsaken world, all because of that.. *thing. Nothing he can say could fix this.  

Luckily, before he can ruin Sergei’s view of him any further, another message. An invitation, if one can call it that, to meet up at an unimportant location. It’s not like he has much choice in this - so, he sends back an *ok, gets dressed in his unitidy clothes and heads out.

Chapter 8: I KNEW WONWOO JAD A FUCKING CRUSH ON HER TOO I KNEW IT but he’s so tragic like that’s noble of you to give up your crush for your friend but dang that’s angsty. She slapped cheol and struck fear into him we love that lol also her and Soonyoung bonding is so cute and fun

Chapter 10: Joshua please stop and let your true self show for once for Jeonghan’s sanity🤡 I love how invested the oldies are in yns business to the point where they’re dropping what they’re doing to go get the tea straight from her on her dinner with Soonyoung. Such a ride or die friend group😭

Chapter 11: of course we start the chapter with JiHan bickering lol and cheol has to mediate between them😭but Wonwoo is such a good friend to Woozi consoling him about his crush crushing on another man and going on a date with him. Idk I like how their crush on tan made them bond it’s kind of touching like you can tell wonwoo really cares and wants Woozi to be happy :(

Chapter 12: I love how the plot just TAKES A TURN lmaaoo😭💀 it was so refreshing to see the 97s again after only appearing at the beginning of the story!! As a fellow caffeine drinker I feel personally victimized by wonwoo help but I still love him though he’s just being caring 😭 also Mingyu developing a crush on Yn is so juicy and chaotic especially when chan is also his friend?!

"i like facts. things that are real, shit i can hold" ITS LIKE THEY TOOK THIS RIGHT OUT OF THE DSM-V OR SMTH

hates change, relies on routine (VERY obvious in s11. he literally walks home in tbe middle of the night because the moon is pissing him off and he needs specific background noises to sleep. SPEAKING OF, he has those stereotypical giant ass Autistic Headphones)

doesnt understand social constructs ie yevgeny's christening "what or it didnt happen?"

drinks, smokes cigarettes, smokes weed, and does coke; autistic people are more likely to use drugs to self-medicate and cope with uncomfortable social situations

MELTDOWNS! s10 "groomzilla" mickey, his s11 anger about moving to the west side and beating up lip + throwing the chairs in the pool, s3 when he beats up ian :( when he becomes completely overwhelmed with emotion, he doesnt know how to use words to explain himself so he acts out physically. yes thats part of how he was raised, but we dont see the other siblings doing it as much or as publicly as mickey does. also, the way he processes grief and trauma after his dad dies. he keeps crying and crying and he cant control it and he obviously HATES it but theres nothing he can do but let his emotions physically manifest because hes at his breaking point

he sometimes shuts downs rather than having a meltdown. ex after 3x6 and before beating up ian, he completely ignores ian until he throws his bottle/shooting target lol

learns buzzwords and uses them in sentences just to show he learned a new word. "kelly girls," "swole." this isnt a diagnostic criteria obviously lol its just something that a lot of neurodivergent people do hehehehe

i saw a tiktok about autistic people being obsessed with Hawaiin print shirts and. yeah that speaks for itself. smth about them having super breathable fabric and having funky visully stimulating patterns just speaks to the autistic mind ✔️

stims. yeah you know all those "nervous tics" he has? rubbing his eyebrow, biting his nails? thats stimming :)

in s5 right before the breakup, we see a broken bike chain on his nightstand. bike chains are really common stim toys and i headcanon that thats what he had it there for :)

i personally believe that his internalized homophobia is directly tied to masking. he has to put on a face of what his dad and society see as a "real man," and this includes not only acting straight but also hiding mannerisms that are tied to autism. autistic people are usually inherently treated different by others, even when they dont know the individual is autistic. calling other kids weird or the r word simply for talking to passionately about a subject, not making enough eye contact, etc. a lot of people get clocked as autistic growing up before they even have a diagnosis, because bullies and abusers target people with typical autistic traits. i think when learning to mask, mickey did what he needed to survive and hid all the "abnormal" aspects of himself. hence "not everyone can just blurt out how they feel." this would also explain why mickey shows a lot more traits in the last 2 seasons (outside of the writers being assholes and writing him as "weird" to be funny 😑). he feels much safer and stable, so he begins unmasking especially around ian

i headcanon that his special interest is guns/weapons. and also maybe (shitty) 90s action movies :))))))

im not sure if hed ever gotten tested as a child. its possible? but seeing as he also can barely read and likely has a learning disability like dyslexia, i think the education system failed him haaaard :'( being undiagnosded as an adult is half "omg noooo youre totally not autistic dont say that!!!1!!" half "wait youre not diagnosed? you def have it bro." so i think some people assume he has it and simply dont bring it up. if he goes to therapy (WHICH HE SHOULD), i think the therapist would mention it and hed be VERY combative at first. but i agree with cam that i think if he did get diagnosed/accepted being autistic he would definitely use it against ian à la "im still on my honeymoon"

at the end of the day, mickey has and will always be mickey. plenty of people watch the show and dont see his character as autistic-coded. but some people do, so maybe everyone here on tumblr.gov should agree that there may be some merit to this headcanon and not be mean to each other when people say a fictional character is autistic! okay im stopping myself here before i spiral even further into the darkness

HI! okay first of all congrats on being the first anon about autistic!mickey I've received that wasn't a hate message lol. to be honest I don't have a lot of specific headcanons about it other than the fact that he IS and I believe that with my whole heart. but I think he probably wouldn't wind up being diagnosed partly due to lack of resources once he's an adult and partly due to resisting it. even in canon it's apparent that Mickey knows struggles with/doesn't conform to social and societal norms and just doesn't give a fuck. and don't get me started on the sleeveless shirt thing
