I want to run a durge cleric because it would be equal parts touching and funny, imagine waking up with cleric powers and knowing you at one point worshipped a god and you have to in the moment try to figure out which one it is and hope you pick right

AND THEN you very obviously do not pick right but the god you do pick takes you in anyway!!! Maybe it’s mercy or maybe all the gods LOVE fucking with bhaal and this is the best opening they’ve had in YEARS

Like a drow durge cleric of eilistraee, goddess of freedom and expression, would go SO HARD or any durge cleric of tyr trying to atone for sins long forgotten, they take durge in out of divine mercy and hope

Or a durge that picks another evil god like talos or umberlee because they know at their core they were made for destruction, they take durge in and immediately break down bhaal’s door and say “remember your kid????? I’m their dad now fuck you”

Really the BG3 cast have very little grounds to complain about a single night's mild attempt at murder: Jaheira and Minsc both had it worse. Did you almost get torn apart by the Slayer, manifested out of the blue mid-fight at any point? Did you wake up to the avatar of murder trying to tear every single one of you limb from limb in the middle of the night? Because these transformations came with no warning or ability to resist it was just "wakey-wakey, time to kill all your friends - from Dad."

Blessed be the boots of speed because, in my experience, the Slayer had a tendency to gib things it caught beyond all resurrection. Chunks everywhere!

Just finished my first playthrough of BG3. Romanced Lae'zel, but ending up turning into an Illithid because the idea of making Orpheus or Karlach do it didn't sit well with me (or my character).

I told Lae'zel to leave with Orpheus in the end (I heard she wouldn't stay with a ghaik anyway, which she's valid for, but also, it doesn't feel right to ask her to stay when I know how much her people mean to her). And like-

Durge's memories only of themselves, who and what they are, and their past being gone seems to me like Bhaal finally hitting the hard reset button on his 'malfunctioning' spawn. Because obviously if all those inconvenient memories are gone Durge will just be an obedient little homunculus again, right?

shadowheart imposter syndrome i have been thinking about this nonstop ever since i started playing bg3 like 5 runthroughs ago. when i romanced her during a durge run, i was thinking about the intersection of durge have to suppress these desires (if you're doing a good play) and feeling like such a poser and scam artist and then shadowheart feeling inadequate after being so chosen for the biggest tasks of any sharran ever. anyway just had to drop in because of your tags lmao

I'm only on my second run (technically 1.5 cause I never actually finished the first one but I missed basically all of act 2 so I just decided fuck it) but Shadowheart's bluster just SCREAMS "I don't know what I'm doing" to me. Combine that with how quickly she's willing to trust you - something sharrans aren't supposed to do? - and then her suppressed memory I just have to believe that she's constantly battling with her guilt and desperately needing to prove herself to Shar.

So I recruited Karlach, and then Alfira showed up to my camp that night.

I guess missing Moonrise Towers screwed up my relationship with Astarion. So my options now are finish the game and maybe try to romance Gale if that's still an option, or go back and replay from before Act 2.
