>Join a union
>Hear people constantly complaining that the current union leadership is super corrupt, it's all just the same ten guys making all the decisions in secret and nobody else in the union ever gets to know what's going on
>Go to the monthly union meetings that are completely open to all 1200 union members
>The only attendees are the same ten guys every month, giving detailed reports about everything that's going on

i live in florida.
the closer we get to the election the more i find myself trying to avoid despair as i watch more and more people actively chose to hand the election to trump and the republican party either by apathy or refusal to engage with the reality of our situation.
desantis has been governor since 2019. it feels like he's been in office for a lifetime. the state has slid so far backwards i don't recognize it and i've lived here since 1996.
the state has been a testing ground for a lot of the conservative policies they're wanting to push nationwide and it's bad. i don't even think bad is the best qualifier for how awful it is.
it's going to kill to people. it has killed people already.
we are not going to live, laugh, love our way to viable third party candidate between now and november.
we are not going to avoid sliding further into fascism by shrugging our shoulders and saying both sides are the same.
there's no glorious revolution coming any more than the rapture is.
but i do fear making it out alive of another trump presidency. that's kind of urgent for me and it's not selfish to be concerned about domestic policy as much as and if not more than international policy.
you can't help others when you are also being stripped of your rights. you think we're gonna get to protest peacefully under another trump presidency? the man who wants to assassinate rivals and wanted to sick the national guard on protestors especially when the supreme court just said the president is immune so long as it's an official act without hard lining what an official act is.
everything is on the line. vote like it.

American Presidents as Blind Dates
George Washington: The perfect 18th-century man--handsome, well-dressed, fantastic dancer, excellent horseback rider. Unfortunately, he's a gold-digger.
Thomas Jefferson: He'd be thrilling and charming as a first date, very engaging intellectually and socially. But if you got to know him better you might notice something kind of...off. A hidden selfishness and cruel streak.
James Monroe: Jury's out on whether he was good-looking or not, but he liked dancing and music and fine dining, so he'd probably be a decent date.
John Quincy Adams: Great conversationalist. Brilliant and he knows it. Irascible. Not much of a sense of humor.
Andrew Jackson: A perfect Southern gentleman who's very concerned about protecting the honor of a lady. (But if you happen to be an opponent, watch out).
Martin Van Buren: No one knows, because this guy was an enigma.
James K. Polk: Would talk about nothing but politics. (Happened to marry a woman who talked about nothing but politics, so it worked out okay).
James Buchanan: Big, loud, charming, loves dancing, tells jokes, and is probably gay.
Abraham Lincoln: Awkward with women and prefers to be one of the guys.
Ulysses S. Grant: Not a great first impression, because he doesn't care much about clothes and is pretty rumpled. (Writes adorable love letters, though).
Rutherford B. Hayes: Charismatic, loves people, loves going to cultural events. Will probably take you to a lecture.
James Garfield: Extremely outgoing. Big, booming laugh. As likely to give you a bear hug as a handshake.
Chester Arthur: Amazing blind date. He's handsome, impeccably-dressed, and his entire job is wining and dining people. (That makes him a terrible husband, though).
Grover Cleveland: If you met him at a public event, he'd seem very cold and distant. In private, he'd be warm and funny (and he's great at doing impressions).
Benjamin Harrison: Amazing guy to take home to your parents. Extremely respectable. Pretty boring as a date, though.
Theodore Roosevelt: So exuberant and energetic you might get overwhelmed. Will take you hiking, and if you run into obstacles, you have to climb over it rather than go around. You'd better have a lot of energy if you want to hang out with him.

I want to have sex with Bill Clinton sooo badly. He's hot. Whenever I see him I get so aroused. I just can't help it. Especially when I see photos from when he was President. He was soo sexy back then. I wish I was a White House intern during his presidency. I would be making sooo many excuses on why I have to be around him. I would like totally suck his dick. But I would want to do even more than just suck him off, too. I would want to be bent over the Resolute Desk, gripping the edge of it while he fucks me. That would be soooo hot. That's my biggest fantasy ever. Obviously, it can't happen, but I love thinking about it.

been avoiding the news all day and decided to check in what the results are looking like and...
like, literally every single aspect of this country has worsened under amlo (security, economy, feminicides, murders, health, corruption). people who decided to vote for his party's presidential candidate for 6 more years of this mess just live in a completely different reality. it's just honestly baffling.
here's to surviving another 6 fucking years i guess.

Out of curiosity what are your fear and hunger ships?
ok this is gonna be kinda a bum answer but i don’t really ship much in general??? i have like 3 things from different fanbases i come back to but nothing in funger is like considerably “shippable” to me.
i like marcoh and tanaka for their dynamic and thematic relevance to the series, and i like abella being a lesbian but those are less “ships” to me and more so just readings of their characters. at least the ones that are less popular per se? the more popular ships i usually just incorporate into my art bc eh why not
personally, i like to interpret them as a really dysfunctional friend group that literally knows waaaay too much about each other to ever stop being friends. they’re kinda like a class you take in uni that you absolutely hate but through your collective hatred of the class you become best friends
like, i like imagining karin abella olivia and osaa just absolutely ripping on daan for being down bad for his human centipede, oh these man made horrors, unfixable wife. marina and levi being the babies of the group and absolutely ripped on because of it. whole “found family but it fucking sucks ass” sort of deal.
i have a lotta wips like this—funger found family kinda shit—where it’s just the characters hanging out. haven’t really gone past the sketching stage bc i’ve been gaming :3
either way, if u do have ships that you really like then don’t let this be a downer! i’m just the kinda guy that prefers found family dynamics and silliness. if shipping brings you happiness then i can’t (or shouldn’t at least) stop you
