You ever think about the Zack and Sephiroth scene in Junon?

Sephiroth was going to Modeoheim where Angeal died….and was probably going to see Genesis there. But he stopped to check on Zack first. I always wondered if they wanted to talk more about Angeal’s death there, since the subject was brought up by Sephiroth’s mission.

I always thought it was weird that CC never, ever addressed Angeal's death with Sephiroth. Like going by context we KNOW he's depressed about it and that it likely helped contribute to his madness. Opera Omnia even explored this idea and put it front and center. But Crisis Core never once takes the time to show or tell us that. And it especially doesn't feature Seph and Zack grieving together. Which is bullshit.

That said, the Sephzack sunset scene is one of my favorite scenes in the game. Keep in mind that Sephiroth literally stalled his trip just to check in on Zack. You get the sense that they've bonded in the two years of being around each other, even if most of it was offscreen. TOO MUCH is offscreen in CC imo. It's the biggest problem I have with the game.

FINAL FANTASY IV BEST FINAL FANTASY!!!!!!

Tbh I don't even remember why I bought IV on the GBA over V (I LOOOOVE EXDEATH) but I made it to the part where you meet Sage Tellah in the cave and stopped in that safe room right before the boss fight in the cave. The plot has me really interested in where it's gonna go though; having the protagonist slaughter like two entire villages back to back right at the start of the game is a WILD hook lol

I also appreciate getting to play an adult that's fully aware of what's going on in a FF game for once haha Though, I've beat 7 and 8, most of 10, and played only a bit of 9, 10-2, 5, and 15 so I know 4 isn't the only FF that doesn't have a young/naive protag.

It was a typical night. Well, if you called a typical night being filled with drinks, board games, and shouting. Then, typical it was. Everything was going swiftly as you were currently watching your two friends, Wooyoung and Yeosang, try to see who could take the most shots the quickest. “7 minutes in hell.” You read the card with a raised brow. “Hell? I thought it was always heaven, no?” Your scan around the room suggested the boys knew more than you and it caused a flutter in your stomach.

“You don’t know what 7 minutes in hell is?” Yunho smirked while taking a sip of his beer.

“This is gonna be fun.” Wooyoung snickered, causing Seonghwa to roll his eyes at him. But yet they all had the same expression, one with a lingering hunger. They were no longer looking at you like their childhood friend, no, they were looking at you like you were just a piece of meat.

“Can someone explain...” You felt singled out, making a shot of anxiety spike through your gut. Jongho leaned over from where he sat, placing his hand gently on your exposed leg, giving you a warm smile.

“Hey it’s okay…” Like he could sense your uneasiness, his comfort brought a small smile to your face. He was always so caring towards you, but then again, they all were. “The game is, you are blindfolded and you have to guess who is touching you.” You could feel your face beginning to burn up, “Since it’s hell, the back of the card should tell you what part the other players will use.” Okay, now you were definitely redder than the wine you are drinking.

“B-body part…” You looked back down at the card and for a moment you felt your heart stop… “Mouth.”

You could have sworn every single male in the room groaned at this discovery but then again It might have just been the high-pitched ringing in your ear from the sudden dizziness in your head. Jongho’s hand moved from your leg to your shoulder, squeezing the flesh softly to get your attention. Your neck snapped quickly, looking at him with wide glossed eyes. “You don’t have to do the dare if you don’t want to, honey. You can just take a shot instead.”

All the boys began to agree, not wanting to make you uncomfortable even though they had all but dreamed something like this would happen. You could hear light footsteps coming towards you making your breath hitch in your throat. Your mouth felt dry as you tried to swallow big gulps of air. And then you felt a tap on your shoulder telling you that the man before you was ready. You let out an unsteady hum, letting the male know you were also ready.

His hands gently grabbed each side of your face, tilting your head slightly to the side to expose your bare neck to him. He could see the pulse in your jugular speeding up at his slight touch. It made him grin like a Cheshire cat. His soft lips finally touched your hot skin, and it made you instantly shift in your seat. He stayed still for a moment before you felt his mouth part, letting his tongue slip out just enough for you to feel the wetness of his appendage. “D-do I guess n-nnow…”

“Fuck…” You moaned out without thinking, your hands flying from your lap to the sides of the chair gripping on the wood like your life depended on it. You had become a stuttering melting mess, feeling yourself being lost in the idea of all your friend's mouths on different parts of your body. The man currently still holding you in his tight grip grunts right in your ear, letting you know you can start the game. And they were moisturised too… hmm, who is he? You thought, trying your hardest to guess. It was then he bit down on your shoulder, you sucked in a sharp pop.

“You okay there Doll?” You could hear Wooyoung call out from the table. The man in front of you was already back with the others so they now could speak freely.

“Y-yeah… I’m good.” You whispered, reaching for your shoulder, feeling the cold wind tickle your wet skin. Your fingertips grazed where San’s mouth was and what you felt made your head spin and your heart skip… “Y-you bit me…” None of them replied though, no, it was a dead silence that caused you to gulp lowly. You could feel them all staring in fear and desire. No one dared to move even an inch. And then you spoke. “S-someone is gonna have to go next before I can answer…you know. Reference and all..”

You felt stupid saying that, and your face showed it. Burning a bright red to match the colour of the blindfold, making all the guys smile. You suddenly could hear shuffling again, making your heart rate ease. You went to speak again, but before you could, a pair of hands grabbed your shoulders gently, making you jump. But then another pair snaked onto your thighs. There were two of them, one behind you and another in front, most likely kneeling. The rougher hands that were on your thighs slowly shifted until they reached the hem of your shirt, tugging on the fabric. You finally spoke, “D-do you need me to move my shirt for you…”

A grunt followed.

“Okay…” You felt so small but yet you had all the power, all these men were just begging to touch you and you had no clue how they picked from your loss of sight. They were all fighting. Pushing in line to get a taste of you. None of them even cared if you guessed correctly or even guessed at all. Any excuse to have you was all they wanted. And when you pulled your shirt off you could hear an echo of men groaning. But it wasn’t from the spacious room. “I got one.” You heard Seonghwa’s voice this time. It was deeper than normal, making you shiver. This Week in BL - it was a pretty darn good time, frankly

Feb 2024 Wk 4

Ongoing Series - Thai

The Sign (Sat YT) ep 12fin - Everyone looked like they were having a lot of fun in the fight sequences. I’m very happy for them. I’m not surprised they shot Khem and Chart. A little shocked it wasn’t also Yai, TBH.

I found this final episode rushed. According to rumors, The Sign was originally slated to be 14 eps, and it probably should’ve been. And I don’t say that often about Thai BL. But we all knew it was getting too bloated for its britches, so I'm not surprised they fumbled the ending. For me personally, it just wasn't that bad. It was fine and I was fine with it.

Tho, Billy does not look good with facial fur, messes up those gorgeous angles.

I was ultimately amused that the solution to the mythology thread was simply to talk to the river god and persuaded him to give up... off screen. It felt very old school wuxia. Or like Aeschylus or something. I did adore the stinger, Saint was basically like “I want wings too”. 

FINAL THOUGHTS

This show is literally everything (except straight) all at once. It's BL, queer, band of brothers, romcom, erotica, PNR, fated mates, police procedural, fantasy, mystery, suspense, and slasher. It’s the king of genre mash-up chaos. Sure, it's madness but there is genius in it. Was it a crazy unhinged mess +1 roll for damage? Yes. Yes it was. Did it manage to hold all those tangled threads together? No it did not. Was it also a charming, sexy, engaging, non-stop piece of entertainment? Sure thing. I think this show is basically my KinnPorsche, and frankly I’ve been chasing that dragon naga since KP aired. Is it perfect? No. But it was balls to the wall FUN and that gets a 9/10 from me.

I'm thinking of doing a full recap review (partly because I have so many great screen shots.)

Cherry Magic (Sat YouTube grey) ep 10-11 of 12 - Since this series is following the yaoi so closely, I knew these were the separation eps. (Also I knew with would be a soft non-doom ep 11, Japan rarerly does these.) I like that they used it to show improve communication and development in all relationships, but, frankly, TayNew are just best when they are TayNew together on screen. So yeah. Let’s keep them back together, please?

Meanwhile, TayNew gifted us a gorgeous loving sweet sex scene. Thanks OG for doing us a solid. 

I wanna add, it sure is fun to see New play as soft and vulnerable character, I feel like he hasn’t done that since SOTUS.

Cooking Crush (Sun YT) ep 12fin - 1/3 of this is a sweet romance about a student doctor falling in love with a student chef, and the rest of it is utter dross. Look the OffGun bits were GREAT.. In fact, I think they’re better AS A PAIR in this show than in any of their other BLS. And I'm a hard sell on any OffGun being better than PickRome. Saying that, how can I review a show where I could only tolerate 1/3 of it? Because I didn’t like any other aspect of this show, no other pairs and no other plots. That gives me: 9/10 for the OffGun bits, 5/10 for everything else. Frankly it probably should be an 8 but I gotta go with my gut and it's upset about this so 7/10. Sorry boys. It’s GMMTV’s fault. Your heart was in this show, mine wasn’t. 

City of Stars (Fri iQIYI) ep 4 of 12 - These two are so good at making heart eyes at each other. It’s ridiculous. They don’t need any cartoon images or noises. Moot crush but "I wanna flirt and court more" is so flipping awesome. I love this for them… and us. 

1000 Years Old ep 2 of 12 - It’s very silly and we have been gifted with the dorkiest vampire ever. But... the smell thing makes me so happy. And I like that the vamp uses chan/nai or tan = v old fashioned. Nahlak. I love our ghost girl. Did you notice she wasn’t in the room with them but they left an empty chair for her? Also nahlak.

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Perfect Propose (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 5 of 6 - Kai was pretty much just “you're a workaholic but I basically married you whether you like it or not.” SMOOCH. What can I say? I'm a sucker for this dynamic.

AntiReset (Taiwan Fri Viki/Gaga) ep 5 of 10 - How is this show so cute? How do they both love and hurt each other so much. They are both just scared of loosing each other. Gah.

Unknown (Taiwan Sat Youku YouTube) 1 of 12 eps - Youku dropped the first ep to their YouTube channel but I doubt we can expect that to continue. Still, it was nice to be able to watch it in a convenient way. I enjoyed it. But I am cautious about it. Of course this is possibly two of my favorite tropes of all time (stepbrothers or a variation + hyung romance). So I’m looking forward to the romantic thread, but from the gritty style, it feels a lot more like a Taiwanese short. Which means it could go very dark and may not end happy. 

Although I Love You and You AKA Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 7 of 10 - I just don’t know if the main couple should be a couple. But when they finally get around to talking to each other, they sure are lovely. Also how great is it to see a uke initiate a kiss? Even if it’s not a very good kiss. 

My Strawberry Film (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 2 of 8 - I am still not sure about this one. I am not contesting its quality, just saying it’s not for me. Also I’m not wild about what amounts to basically a redo of everything that already happened in the first episode from a different perspective. I know it’s a tall order with Japan, but I would like (when it’s a short series) for each new installment to actually move the plot (such as it is) along in someway. Am I asking too much?
