THE GLORIA SCOTT - part 2, and a follow up to my comic for the first half of this scene! thanks sm to @crashingmeteorz for allowing me to source validation for my whimsical cosmic approach to this moment <3

#sherlock & co #sherlock and co #i had such a distinct and vivid image for this scene in my mind when i first considered drawing it #but i was worried people might find it. too weird?? but . i dont want to draw 13 pages of two men lying on a bed #so heres my heavy visual metaphor for the ways in which i think john and sherlock are trying to connect with each other in this scene #i hope it makes sense!#i have so many feelings about this scene i cant put it into words so it had to be a comic instead #another note i was already working on this when joff's floorplan released and i didnt want to reshuffle the entire composition to conform #wouldnt have worked #but future comics will take the canon floorplan into account #uhmm #oh yeah also wanted to mention: i took inspiration from Space Boy the webcomic. so. read that if u vibe with this kind of storytelling #another thing: sleep well by electric president - tracks 4 5 and 6 #patsart

My favorite scenes from The Odyssey (books 18 to 21)

Odysseus fighting a random beggar being its own book was not something I expected to enjoy this much when reading The Odyssey, but here we are.

#the odyssey #odysseus #penelope #odypen #telemachus #athena #eurymachus #antinous #irus #aka the beggar #eurycleia #anyway I've read the odyssey three times now (Emily Wilson's translation twice) it's become a hyperfixation #there are so many scenes I like that I'd probably have to draw the entire story #like I have several in book 1 alone #examples being the olympain gods waiting for poseidon to go to some party in ethiopia just so they can make a decision without him #telemachus telling his mom not to stop their bard (aka personal dj) from singing a song about his father's death #keep in mind he says that the bard is free to sing about whatever he wants while in a previously it was mentioned that the bard was forced #in book two (in think) Telemachus calls the nobles for a meeting and then throws the “speaking staff” to the floor #and proceeds to trauma dump #back to book one: Athena making some long excuse of how she is totally a human man and immediately transforms into a bird #in front of Telemachus' face #all of this and its not even halfway through the Telemachy

#my art #naruto #umino iruka #the uzukage iruka drawing was originally supposed to be a Hokage X Uzukage kkir but I got tired of drawing that fucking hat #anyway I have soooooo many thoughts #two stories that are really appealing to me in this au:#1. Kushina is Uzukage and Minato is Hokage and they’re carrying on an affair behind the scenes LMAO #Kakashi and Iruka are their protégés and are forced to get along while their mentors sneak around. and they ‘hate’ each other ;)#2. uzushio never falls but Kushina still immigrated and the Kyuubi attack still happens #the third basically scouts Iruka from uzushio as a guardian for Naruto because he’s got a kind heart but is also good enough with seals #that he can. ahem. ‘deal with’ kurama if need be #obviously Iruka has some conflicting feelings abt this. in this au his parents weren’t killed by the Kyuubi so he’s really like THAT’S A KID #YOU WANT ME TO ADPOT THIS BOY BECAUSE YOU THINK I’M CAPABLE OF KILLING HIM IF HE GETS OUT OF HAND? WHAT THE FUCK?#and then he adopts him anyway. but it’s HIS choice

It's been a year, so here's the wrap up!

I actually haven't posted a lot of this art- or other art that I've made this year haha. Took a major break from going online and even Sonic as a whole for a few months even.

I feel like I haven't changed my style that much, but I did change a bit. I don't color the whites of eyes anymore, I figured out how to make things glow, and I sometimes color my lines too!

#I've done a lot of things behind the scenes this year #I wrote a Road Trip story which is what the July art is about (I'm not posting it any time soon because I got changes I want to-#-make and I think I may need a beta reader from someone who actually knows a thing or two about writing a story...)#I have a mountain of Undertale art too lmao- even a somewhat plot and headcanons! (of course there are headcanons)#I have so many sketches of Road Trip that I still need to color and clean... like it's more sketches than I have actually posted of the au!#But overall- this year has been fun for me to draw! Haven't had a lot of time though because of work and school :(

#severance #severance spoilers #severance fanart #mark s #helly r #helena eagan #severance season 2 #severance s2 #severance s2 spoilers #some tumblr users might notice that i made a post abt the 'radiator' on main (in the moment i could Not remember what it was called)#in the midst of drawing and yeah. drawing this prompted that #others might have noticed a different post of mine calling this the first scene in the show i found perverse #later i realized that the word underneath that was 'violation'#i hope that the show does acknowledge that this was SA and deals with it with compassion and understanding #i just cannot get over. the horror of it. how many times and in how many ways must you violate him #the thought behind this was that- the severance after they carved out his heart and then this scene #motifs aside on a technical level this was v interesting to do #esp since i was so choked up w it i just went to draw it and neither warmed up nor did a composition thumbnail #i didnt have the patience even to look up the stills from the ep which is why mark is kinda buff #the colours were super fun and tortured me for monetary gain #took me a million years to settle on smt but u cant go wrong with a good ole complementary #i wanted to make the parts of mark that were engaged in the lie more 'monotone' (orange to helena's blue) and his back that's turned to #the truth more complex and real which is why its the only part of the drawings that's got texture #anyway im sick. from the show. enjoy!

I really want to convey how unabashedly charming this silly little tactician is. It helps explain how they keep the order intact on a social level and also why this keeps happening:
