On what i learned by solving a difficult problem

“I have lost the plot babe,” I say to myself, as I have quite literally lost the plot of my book.

There I was, making a bullet point doc with plot details, and then as the story evolved - and I got better at telling it - it took a turn. So much so, that it became suffocating instead of freeing, to have plot points telling you where to go. As I was telling the story that evolved in front of me instead of the one that I pre-planed, I realized that I like it a lot more.

It became overwhelming.

The unknown, the ideas on how to make it known, the middle of the night wakings with bright and fresh and funny scenes, felt like learning to ride a bike for the first time. Unsteady and shaky, but as the wind swept through my hair and kissed my face as i became more confident and gained speed, the more I enjoyed, the more exhilarating it became.

Eventually I trusted my self with the balance of the bike, I trusted in my muscles to keep taut as I drove further and further up the path.

The scenes of my story felt like an overwhelming attack at first. I started writing because the story attacked me and it was scary and difficult to have to overcome writing block and fatigue and to fight to find a coherent plot.

But as the story went on, not unlike you g me on that silly pink bike, eventually I trusted myself to keep going.

“Oooh,” i whispered as it all came together, “I found the plot!”

Please don't crucified me if this headcanon is deemed unrealistic in real life. (´；ω；`) More notes / detailed notes:

stayed & travelled with the Figs for awhile -- after being found, before finally dropped of to an institution, as the Figs think their travelling life style is not really suitable to raise a child

quickly picked up civilization as he is an intelligent child (that's why he is a ravenclaw)

exchanged letters with the travelling Figs during his time at the institution / orphanage

was a really helpful child during his time at the institution / orphanage that he is close with the staff

he thinks of befriending people is a way of learning & by helping them he gets to experience a lot of different things

a mellow temperament child in general (just like how it is ingame)

likes exploring (bcs damn! we really going places in that game)

picked the silly 'Alex Xander' name himself, maybe he heard a mother called her child with that name once and he is obsessed with that name ever since.

he always writes Xander as his 'family name' to show that he is complete even without a family

actually a bit older than his classmates, as he went through extra few years to catch up to civilization as a feral child

The Sixth Day of Writemas

Here we go again @seastarblue and @agirlandherquill ! I also figured I should tag other writing folks so if you see this, consider yourself tagged as a reader (or writer if you want, no pressure!)😁

The prompt I chose was: The Creaking Of An Ancient Door

Her loud and slightly ragged puffing breaths coupled nicely with the steady splash of old tennis shoes against rainy puddles. Sam's damp hair stuck to the edges of her cheeks stubbornly, unfazed by her excited grin as she practically skated across the slick wood of the rotting porch. Off in the distance Jennifer's voice carried over the small hillside from her forest clearing. "Thirty two...thirty three...thirty four..." Sam pulled on the door, grunting with the effort of unsticking at least fifty years worth of rust. "Thirty eight...thirty nine..." Sam looked around for another way in, finding only the jagged teeth of broken glass in a window half open. Sadly it wasn't big enough to avoid the bite of those teeth and she didn't want to bleed for her victory. She gave a number of quick frantic yanks on the door and finally it creaked open with a loud and protesting whine. Sam pushed her hair out of her eyes before slipping quickly inside, shutting the door just as the final call of "Fifty! Ready or not, here I come!" rang out across the woods. Sam hurried as quietly as possible to her next hiding place, which happened to be behind a large once gray couch now being eaten steadily by moss and mold. "Get your own spot!" I hissed from underneath, watching with a uniquely feline satisfaction as little Sam jumped and immediately looked beneath the couch. "There isn't anywhere else." She pleaded to which I patted at her with an unsympathetic paw. "I was here first."

The rest is under the cut because this little scene was waaaay longer than I expected 😆

"But Bryn_"

Jennifer's footsteps were heard on the porch and I patted at Sam with both paws to further spur her on. She squeaked and ducked under an old table with its cloth hanging off the edge and trailing the floor, having long ago become a trellis for the local climbing ground cover flowers. Jennifer spotted her nearly immediately but pretended for a few minutes that she had not seen the stray lace from an untied shoe that had given away her sister's position. After searching the room she walked slowly around the table and then quite quickly grabbed Sam by the ankle, pulling her out from under the table. Both girls squealed in laughter as Jennifer hollered, "Gotcha!" She knelt over her younger sister and began interrogating her. "Where's Bryn?" That was a traitorous question indeed, I thought from under the couch. My little Sam wouldn't betray me though, a point proven when she stuck out her tongue with a shake of her head. "I'll never tell you!" "No?" Jennifer grinned and began tickling Sam without any semblance of mercy, she held out for a time but no one could resist such torture for long and eventually she gasped out my hiding place between desperate giggles. "Under the couch!" Jennifer stood, "Aha!" and marched over to me, kneeling with a smirk as our eyes met. "Better luck next time." I began to purr, never more happy to lose a game in my life.

Despite the fact I haven't got the chance to talk with her personally, as she blasted off the island after the show was over, she left a very good impression of a hard-worker and someone who is talented in their craft! "
