Aight, gonna try to keep it brief for the sake of my hands.

we're going over my ocs for the main story ive been working on, i have many, MAAAAANY others

keep reading because this is gonna be long

The main character of the story is a mysterious man known as "The Inventor", a man who looks wayyyy older than he is, dude is in his late 40s and has paper white hair, and a constant gray stubble. he's about 5'9 and often wears a dark green coat (very ragged) long stained khaki pants (very ragged as well) and a gray shirt (surprisingly clean). he also wears a small brown satchel over his shoulder that he stores his foragings in. Initially in the story he is homeless, appearing in the city where the first part takes place three months ago, with no prior memory. He soon discovers a small key located next to the disabled husk of a robot (another character) which gives him access to a mansion.

most of his compatriots call him Mr. I. He is also (big part I forgot to mention) a master inventor (Hence the name) he knows how to repair, enhance, and create fully sentient robots, along with very advanced gauntlets that allow him to fly (rocket arms are sweet) and house his most powerful and god defying technology, the soul capture. When he dies, his soul leaves his body, however, due to the violation of the laws of nature, he invented nanobots that physically grab his soul, repair his body, and shove his soul back in.

Backstory(INSANELY SHORTENED): The reason why he's so strange and does not remember much is because his old soul got ripped out of his body and turned into a ghost. He used to be a man named.... okay so im working on the name it used to be timothy Alderstone (keeping the last name) but i want to change it to something more professional than Tim. He used to be the head of robotics and mechanical design at The Mayweather Research Institute, though one day his boss got contacted by the manifestation of pure evil, and was inspired to create chemical weapons that literally kill your soul. Alderstone found out about this and could not bear to have these released (also found out that the gods are real) so he went a bit silly, concocting a plan to evacuate everyone but him and the boss, then blowing up the building to destroy the weapons. when he did this, a bit of the soul killing gas got into his room, and along with the explosions, knocked his soul out of his body, but left the original form moving and alive. This body became the inventor (new soul type beat) and Alderstone is still out there vying for control over his original body.

Enjoyed that? I'm not CLOSE to being done! Very brief character profile 1/3!

Next Character is Jay. Jay is a nickname for his (admittedly silly) original name of JudgeBot. Jay is a very large (14 or so feet) robot who was designed as part of the CURFEW program (Creation of Utility Robots For Extreme Warfare (also really silly name but in universe nerds made it up)) He was designed to be Judge(hence the name) jury and executioner on the battlefield. He and CiCi (meet him later) were both deployed on the front of the southwestern united states during essentially a war of testing new technological developments. after the war, he and CiCi were seperated, CiCi was taken to a warehouse deep in the deserty areas of the southwest, and Jay was sent to a dump in the city of Mayweather, though never was scrapped, essentially a graveyard. He was found by Mr. I at the beginning of the story, and after repairs, the two became fast friends. Jay is a jolly fellow, with a deep booming voice, and a friendly personality. He likes taking care of his friends and protecting those he cares for, though he does take it too far sometimes, often self sacrificing due to his low self worth and idolization of others.

He is (as mentioned) 14 feet(about) tall, and he is made of entirely brass. His left hand is able to switch to a chaingun (think doom 2 style) and he is powered by steam. The man absolutely despises cold weather as it causes his internal systems to freeze. imagine if YOUR blood got frozen over, you'd hate the cold too! As one of the two war machines made from the MRI, he is very powerful in combat, though it is often his last resort.

That one was shorter, eh? next is CiCi, who i imagine to be the shortest.

CiCi, another robot of the CURFEW program, he was created earlier into the program's lifespan, and therefore is less advanced, but still a marvel of engineering. He is slightly taller than Jay, and is much less mentally stable due to years of isolation in the warehouse he was trapped in (also the god of pure evil that lives in his brain but shhhhh) He was created as a sort of "Berserker" type combatant on the battlefield, reflected in his own personal weapon, that of a chainsaw arm on his left hand. it is similarly retractable, but he is much quicker to anger and more eager to use violence. His first appearance in the story is when Jay and Mr. I go to rescue him from the warehouse, where they find him out of fuel (gas powered) after reactivating him, they upgrade his system to run on rechargeable solar batteries. he dislikes indoor areas and caves for this reason. he is a less kind soul to strangers, and often puts up a wall emotionally as he feels he has to be strong for those around him, specifically Jay. This is a bad coping mechanism for him, and sometimes he completely shuts down, both emotionally and physically, the emotional overload can cause him to black out. Because of this and his refusal to seek help, he stays rather stoic for fear of failing in his most vital moments.

So chums, that was a short run down of my little dudes! didnt want to spoil too much for the future stories i plan to write. if people liked this one i might do other posts like this for my other ocs in other stories.

But he has TWO (2) magic spears and im a slut for duel wielding.  He does lose quite a few points for being pure NTR bait though. Like for real fam. Cut that shit out.

I’ve never been a big fan of Arturia, but Alter I always liked for some reason.  No idea why Lancer class gives her bigger tits, but I can only assume that its a class thing and all the Lancer’s are packin heat in some way.  Her spear/drill thing is weird but it still looks like a jousting lance so I’ll take it. She’s a really powerful servant but she gets dropped to C tier on account of being another seibahface and also because she bullies Mordred and thats just unacceptable behavior.

There is one amazing thing about this servant though. LOOK AT THAT FUCKIN HORSE THO. though bare thighs on a saddle probly aint fun.

HI like his design and his attitude during Okeanos.  But as a servant I cant help but feel kinda meh on him for some reason.  

Leo fights persians and isnt afraid of anything.  He’s really cool and I have no idea why he’s a 2 star despite his legend being one of the most popular in the world. 300 was a hype movie but lets not talk about the sequel.  Hes low because he’s all defense and outside of his NP he’s pretty fuckin meh. Unless he can keep his NP up at all times he just isnt all that impressive.

Yeah i’ve never once used Benkei in any form of media he’s appeared in.  He has a ton of weapons but decided to be a lancer instead of doing the smart thing and just chucking swords at people as an Archer class. Seriously, that would make him a 4 star at least. Show some brains man.

Okay here’s why I like it.

To start you have to understand my salty relationship with Roxy’s bisexuality. I basically wrote my own god damn narrative for it in my own head because I am just so over homestuck’s completely unwillingness to give women arcs relating to their sexuality. Womens’ queerness is always something treated by the narrative as obvious and unworthy of commentary or exploration or any element of revelation/self-discovery or even an iota of reflection or struggle, which is especially FRUSTRATING when they’ve been shown struggling with the queerness of OTHERS. It’s that last part that gets me w Roxy -- I especially hate this with Roxy specifically because her relationship with Dirk was so very fucking fraught with her being bitter at him for being gay and thus unwilling to be with her. Roxy was aggressive about her attraction to Jake and Dirk and I would have really liked to see SOMETHING about like. The narrative there after she meets Callie, especially when Callie expressly tells Roxy that her species can’t experience human romance and blah blah blah blah there are so many things I would have loved to know more about re Roxy and her sexuality but this post is already going to be long so enough said about how mad I am about this specifically

The way I’ve settled on it for my own peace of mind is that Roxy went after Dirk and Jake most aggressively because she had the “save the human species” thing held up as the banner of like, the most important thing she could do to the exclusion of most else. Couple that with her being upset at Dirk for being gay and you get a workable explanation for her suppressing her own bisexuality and being so exuberantly performatively straight. 

So. Callie is the only person outside the other alpha kids that Roxy has had this lifelong close relationship/bond with. They have a conversation where they basically gal pal each other aggressively, with Callie saying her species can’t do redrom/human romance and Roxy being cagey about whether she’d reciprocate because Callie is basically telling her there’s no point to the thought exercise and who likes rejection?? but Roxy is the one who brings it up and is clearly fishing to see if Callie likes her likes her and blah blah blah people have been shipping RoxyCallie long before credits video because of all this, the ring, etc. The closeness of their relationship and the mutual “if only this could work it could be so good” narrative there like all right. 

Then, John. There’s an element to Roxy’s attraction to John that’s rooted in that instinctive thing she has going on that you can see on display in their first meeting, where she sees A Dude and immediately does her mental calculus to determine hey here is A Dude, he’s kind of cute, he’s maybe not gay and/or off-limits b/c my best friend has a huge messy crush on him. And it would be real easy to weigh the scales here and go full RoxyCallie if that were the sum and parts of their relationship, but like, here’s the thing -- it’s not. 

I just cannot let go of John and Roxy as the sole survivors of the Game Over timeline. Roxy is Callie’s beacon of optimistic hope, Roxy is the one who acts to save Callie and preserve her in the alpha timeline (with John’s help -- John gives Roxy the ring after all. I like that detail in the full scope of them being a Unit in the future.) But JOHN plays that role for Roxy. Roxy watches Rose die and is ready to sit down and throw in the towel. She tells John straight up that her only plan going forward after this is to accept her fate and bury her mom and wait for her miserable doomed timeline to end and take her with it. John is the one who convinces her there might be a better way, there might be hope. JOHN is the one who acts to preserve Roxy’s existence in the alpha timeline. I really love the parallel between Roxy bringing Callie back from the brink of oblivion and John bringing Roxy back from the same via the same mechanism that allows John to get the ring that allows Roxy to bring Callie back in the first place. That is a really tidy loop and I like it a lot.

So, Roxy in Earth C with a boy she likes and has a connection with that literally no one else can understand because no one else went through Game Over, no one else has this dissonant experiences that might not mesh 100% with the people they love, no one else has this potential imposter syndrome. I love the idea of Roxy and John bonding over that and have never really been willing to give it up. I love the idea of Roxy coming to understand that her infatuation with the idea of A Boy, Any Boy and the future she wanted so bad were products of trauma and really examining that and then realizing she fell for John legitimately, that she genuinely finds him charming

Simultaneously, Roxy in Earth C with the alien girl she’s had a crush on for like probably forever, and now she’s free of the burden she always assumed she had to repopulate the human race. Also her entire family is queer and she’s free to explore her own feelings with that context. Maybe to accept that her feelings for Jane were never purely platonic (and her feelings for Callie certainly never were) and half her frustration at Dirk was that he insisted on being “true” to himself while Roxy never felt she could be and imposed straightness on herself out of obligation to the human race. And here’s Callie with her insistence that cherubs can’t experience redrom, too. Except now she’s living on Earth C with, for example, Karkat, a troll who absolutely experiences romantic feelings the same way humans do despite all his species lore stating Trolls Can’t Feel Like That. And now Callie has eternity to explore HER feelings -- and we know part of why Callie just accepted that she couldn’t experience flushed/human romance is because she didn’t think anyone would ever love her like that anyway, right? She thought she was hideous and unloveable. Well now she’s here on Earth C and there’s no way Roxy is going to go on letting her believe that. And without that holding her back from exploring the way she REALLY feels, you can see a path to Callie allowing herself to experience emotions she never thought she could. 

And all of these are positive things and wonderful things for these people to learn about themselves and about each other. 

Roxy caught between the boy she fell for on her journey and the girl she fell for long before her journey even started, just having this realization like, everyone is doing what they want here, this is our universe and our earth and our society and our rules, and she’s kind of unofficially dating them both for awhile but not committing labels-wise to either until eventually she’s just like fuck it??? Here’s how I feel, now how about you??? And I cannot imagine Callie protesting Roxy loving them both or someone else loving Roxy as much as she does, and John’s relationship with romance throughout Homestuck is so bemused and ???? and exploratory, I imagine he’s like well this is kinda weird is this like a troll thing and Roxy is like no this is just an us thing and they deal with it

John and Callie have already been spending tons of time with each other throughout and again, as I referenced in an earlier post, there’s some initial awkwardness that settles out into a balanced arrangement and Callie and John both love Roxy and care about each other very much.

Also like, until there actually is some kind of epilogue that does more with John’s current depression arc and ties in the Masterpiece with everything, I like this alternate reality where John has someone who understands him in a way really no one else can there for him when his shit starts to go south, I like the idea of there being an entire long ass subplot where John tries to isolate himself and Roxy is instrumental in not allowing that to happen, I like Callie’s cheer in the face of her own blisteringly unforgiving history and reality being an inspiration for John, I like a lot of things that canon as it stands doesn’t have a satisfying character-driven arc for at the moment.

And, you know, to cap all this off, I really just like JohnRoxyCallie as an acknowledgement that bisexual woman are not “less” for liking boys, that bisexual woman don’t “count” unless they are exclusively with women, and that bisexual people in real life who ship bisexual characters with people of opposite/other genders are not somehow betraying the queer community by doing so, while simultaneously not sacrificing a potential f/f romance for a m/f one.

The LGBT community’s relationship with bisexual women is MY pet issue, because obviously I’m a bi woman, and there’s obviously an element of that going on as well. It bothers me with the treatment of a lot of fandom/homestuck’s bisexual women (this frenzy by queer fandom to erase every relationship a bisexual woman ever had with a man as being not real or not valid for x, y, z reasons while Straight Fandom is over there doing the same thing, but opposite) but Roxy is by far the Homestuck Canon Bisexual Woman I personally care about the most so SHRUG that’s why you get a million words of my feelings

seriously ive like Always wanted to do tabletop games as a hobby, but i was never socially confident enough and also Warhammer In Particular Requires Money

But i just Took A Risk And Dived Into The Store and then the cashier was really helpful AND also it turns out the series has changed a lot since i was a kid! Now there's multiple scenarios including a fantasy one, instead of just the grungey edgelord sci fi! Sure its grungey edgelord fantasy too but fantasy is better cos fantasy can have GHOSTS!!! man i wanna learn more about the rules cos yo can you mix and match stuff? Could i have ghosts AND zombies AND vampires??? Do i really have to restrict my monster wuv...?

Oh and also NO BIGOTRY ANYMORE which is always a plus! There was only one female faction in the space thing back then, and they were creepy bondage sexy ladies who stab themselves and use their orgasm power to fuel their magic or something. Like it just said "magic fueled by suffering" but uhh..when theyre all skimpily dressed and doing O-faces it uhh..DOESNT SEEM LIKE THIS IS PUNISHMENT TO THEM. I cant believe people reccommeded that to me as a 12 year old just cos it was the only "girl one".like i mean i know the definition of the gane is gonna be violent and Dark but like you should still categorize some stuff as maybe Even Darker And Perhaps Not Sell To Smol Childe. Having green blood on your axe is a bit tamer than goddamn fifty shades in space! Oh and yeah the ghosts just look SO GOOD! they have a great design aesthetic of floaty smokeyness but also skeletal zombieness. And the smoke colours are very Aesthetic to make up for the fact you cant actually have translucent plastic. And they all have super dynamic poses swinging all.sorts of cool.weapons on chains and sticks just so they had an excuse to spice up an otherwise ordinary figure. And then MAN when there's the ones that are dynamically posed AND also have a really unusual design?? God my heart just explodes. I looooove these spoops~

And man i hope i can work up the courage to go back and ask the cashier more questions next time! I wanna know the specifics of the rules and how creative im allowed to get with them. How different can i paint them? How am i allowed to mod my figures? Can you mix and match figures from each faction? Do you just have to rp as the plain army description for each faction or can you make up your own division of the ghost dudes who are Not Tormented and Not Ruled With An Iron Fist and instead have a Nice Boss Who Takes Them Out For Milkshakes? Also can i put little top hats on them?

And maaaaan seriously i already have so many ideas for alternate plotlines for these guys!! Its SUCH A WASTE! the short summary mentions that you become a ghost if you're "not good enough for [warhammer equivelant of heaven] and evil enough for [warhammer equivelant of hell]". But then ALL OF THEM ARE JUST EVIL ANYWAY. "Not evil enough" but still every single unit description is "he was an executioner/hunter/serial killer/world's worst criminal ever/he has so style he has no grace t t this stabman stabs u in th face." Like seriously where are my actual morally gray dudes who did bad stuff for good reasons or good stuff for sinful reasons or straddled the line between redemption and temptation or like MAN THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT DEFINITIONS OF PURGATORY PERSON! Like why not bring up all the completely good people who might get unfairly sentenced here if this world's angel faction has as many corrupt priests as the real world? Ghosts of unwed mothers, unbaptised children, lgbt and other minorities the church is bigoted against, people falsely accused of crimes by corrupt pastors, peope whose mental illness is blamed as 'demon possession', teenage brides who didnt accept their 'holy' arranged mariage to a man twice their age, poor people who just didnt donate enough to the church caddy, etc. Or even just plain normal people? Like if you don't believe that humans are inherantly good you might damn Ol George Farmerson for "not doing anything with his life". Norse mythology had a "bad place" like that, everyone went to Helheim even if they werent evil, just for not "dying a warrior's death". And a lot of the worst child abusing christians twist the scripture to claim that all children are born sinful and have to work off this goddamn debt they gained through no fault of their own.

So yeah i was thinking of having a Nighthaunt faction division where i replace all their weapons with stuff like gardening tools and etc. Farmer of doom! Librarian of death! Single mother of pain! Kindly grandpa neighbour of ultimate power! Just all the lost souls of people who weren't super evil dudes. Maybe even theme it like theyre all from the same village? Maybe the entire place was damned for the sins of one man. Just generally criticize the hell out of the way all these dumbass gods organize their damn afterlife.

And then i could have a warden/general character who's Actually Nice and Actually Tries To Help These Ghosts Work Off Their Sentence. Kindly support worker type person. Treats it like voluntary work and extracurricular classes for people recovering from illness. Does all this paperwork and arranges little art classes and weekly walks around the park for all the grandmas. "Let's do the five-point recovery star to help plan our goals for the future!" Support ghost is here to help u accept ur new damned existance, and help progress up the employment ladder of hell~!

And then i was also thinking SHAMELESS CHARON CROSSOVER! i mean itd be so cool to have a ghost dude who's been damned for being a corrupt tax collector or something. And if he was all hunched over and grumply with some claw hands. And if he was this physically weak type due to his crimes not really being of the fighty sort. And if he was a grandpa. And small. I AM ABSOLUTELY JUSTIFIED IN SAYING CHARON WOULD FIT PERFECTLY INTO THIS WORLD!! Also it woukd actually be cool if i could mix and match units and i just had one single holy creature in this army of doom. Like a lil pixie type thing like rotom! An innocent barely-sentient angel glowybab, who's inexplicably latched onto this motley crew of spoops and seems to see a spark of goodness in them. Like the whole "youre a punished ghost cos you suck but you did One Good Thing so here's a small chance to escape your fate" myth thats common to a lot of cultures. And the dude usually ruins his one chance by being greedy again, blablabla. That would really fit Charon! So like i dunno maybe this rotom-equivelant lil celestial fairy could be the soul of a baby or a cat or something that he saved when he was alive? Like i dunno his final heist went catatrophically wrong and he accidentally knocked over a lantern and set the place on fire. And he could have been able to escape if he'd just been as selfish as usual, but he heard a kid crying from inside the burning building and he ran back inside to try and save them. And uhh.. He still failed. They both died. And now he's stuck on afterlife death row but this lil angel still comes to visit and cheers him on. And a bunch of other redeemable and/or falsely accused non evil ghosts all ended up becoming his buddies too and now they're all fighting together to find a better future~! (Charon: I'VE NEVER HAD SO MANY FRIENDS! :'D ...what is their resale value)

SO YEAH IN SUMMARY I LOVV GHOST AND ADDING GHOST MAKES ALL UR GAMES MUCH MORE BETTER now plz let me be nice to ghost, srsly it sucks that their whole deal is "theyre all being tortured constantly and not even their boss gives a shit about them".
