Here is a quote I think of every time I see these pictures. "The rumor since has been that I edged [Stuart Sutcliffe] out of the band, because we certainly did have our difficulties. For me, it was mainly because I didn't think he was a very good musician, which he wasn't, and he admitted it. So, for me, that caused problems, because being a—I mean, you could say being a perfectionist, but actually asking the bass player to play in the same key as us isn't really looking for perfection. It's quite a mild request." — Sir Paul McCartney, The Lyrics podcast, "Michelle," April 10, 2024.

“If we can’t be lovers we’ll never be friends…”

One day I’ll sit down and give an extensive talk on my experience with synesthesia, but for now I’ll just say that for me, music has always been tied to my art. Inextricably. When I put on music as I paint it’s not just background noise, it’s actively informing the piece. This is an example of me taking that to the logical extreme, this entire piece was made and crafted by the music I heard as I painted it. Using Beatles (and solo career) songs from across their lifespan, the finished piece becomes a visual symphony of shared history between Paul McCartney and John Lennon. Everything shared, and everything left unsaid.

Call me crazy but please tell me I’m not the only one who hears Paul’s voice here too, just below John’s?? To my knowledge they didn’t do voice doubling on this song and this is the only part where two voices are heard. Did Paul just decide to scream the verse too at this particular point in the song for some reason? Can anyone who knows more about it than me confirm or deny it’s driving me crazy.
If they are then it becomes hilarious, because I can just imagine the others in the room with them while they were all recording, being forced to listen to these two basically have musical hate sex, radiating angst while on the brink of a divorce all like
