➼Scorcher:

- literal hottie

- if he advertises himself as a hitman through online ads I'm 90% certain he uses the Ooo equivalent of online dating. I have no proof, but also no doubts.

- Doesn't half ass anything he does, that includes to his job or courting you, willing to dress in nice garbs on the first date.

- He never gets you any chocolate boxes though, they melt when he holds them for too long :(

- Very good at his job as a bounty hunter so he always has clients that keep him busy and away from you sometimes. Fortunately he's quick and efficient, the moment you start missing him he's already at your doorstep. (plus, he can basically fly)

- Really tall, crouches alot if you're smaller than him when you wanna give em a peck on the cheek.

- Scorcher is really quiet, don't expect long conversations with him but he's good at listening.

- When he does talk or write notes it's mostly through frustrating metaphors.

- Get comfy on those pecs like a pillow for movie nights.

- Likes slapstick comedy movies even though he never admits it, you hear him laugh through his nose when someone gets hit in the boingloings.

🔞N/S/F/W:

- Has long limbs, likes any position where he can touch/envelope you as much as possible.

➼Sir Slicer:

- Pros: He's got the good looks and his own ride.

- Can take you to places on his horse.

-Cons: He picks on literal children when he's bored, needs a new hobby.

- His armor is well kept and lustrous so it tells me he's the type of guy who likes to keep himself presentable and make an impression.

- Literally can't move in that armor. You keep telling him to get something more lighter but he insists on wearing it for the ✨aesthetic✨

-The other knight's respect him so he's gotta have some level of skill (or it's probably just the armor) Either way, would sometimes take you to jousting matches.

- Pays a bard to sing to you.

- Takes forever in the shower cause he uses more shampoos/soaps/hair products than you, if you use hair ties or pins expect them to go missing, needing to buy packs every month.

- He always has a band of crows following him around, it's nice to feed them on occasion. He gets jealous when they like you more than him.

- You also like his pink horse. I bet their name is either something cute like butterscotch or really edgy like Night crawler.

➼Peace Master:

- DILF ALERT

- Being a (somewhat irresponsible) single father of three I feel like he barely has time for anything let alone dating, I mean, he took his kids with him during a fight with peppermint butler.

- He's a man of commitment, won't invest time in you unless you're looking for something serious.

- I hope you like kids! There's no scenario where your dates with this man isn't in company of his kids, unless PM finds a reliable babysitter, you'll get used to spending time in fun group activities like board games, theme parks or picnics.

- Even though dark arts are part of his job and every day life, he's uncomfortable about his kids getting into it and that applies to you too.

- When he actually does find a babysitter you can expect a much more romantic date for the two of you, though please be patient with him, he's been so used to father mode that sometimes he forgets to interact with another adult.

- He'd dice up your food for you out of habit, make sure your drink is of room temperature or cut the crust from your sandwiches.

- Whenever something bad happens during (or before) your dates he blames it on dark magic rather than take responsibility.

- Somewhat overly religious vibes like, he wouldn't approve on games like card wars or harmless divination like fortune cookies.

- For the sake of saving time and savoring some intimacy, you could indulge him in getting handsy in his van one night. He would later feel guilty about it and wash it in and out before driving it again the next day.

➼Simon Petrikov:

I know he's not a bad guy by the end of the series, but thematically he still fits here.

- It takes a while for him to accept Betty's sacrifice and move on, he wasn't actively hooking up with other people but you two happen to met at Marceline's concert and knock it off really well from there.

- Sensitive man who's open about his feelings.

- Would read you poetry before bed

- Most dates would consist of something tranquil between the two of you instead of going somewhere too crowded, if you two do head out somewhere you're usually home by 10pm cause the adult life is tiring.

- When he has trouble sleeping you turn on the ac at full blast cause it helps him cope with his ice king era.

- You throw flowers at him during his presentations at the local tavern. #1 fan

- Often invite Marcy and PB for dinner.

🔞N/S/F/W:

- Probably cries after segs, feels overwhelmed at being loved after everything that's happened.

➼Samantha:

- Gotta love a woman who can kick your ass.

- She definitely believes in horoscopes and soul mates, would ask for the time you were born on, your star sign and other things to weight the chances of you two being compatible.

- Huge romantic, would pull off all the tropes she can think of, like purposely bumping into you. It's kinda charming.

- Would stand up to you and tell the waiter you asked for no pickles.

- Likes to partake in friendly sparring, if she's stronger than you she'd playfully give you an upper hand. "Oh noo, you've over powered me~"

- Her idea of a cute date could vary between dinner at a fancy restaurant or trying to steal blood from demons.

- Bonus point if you're a canine of sorts.

- More than once a sparring match dwelled into something more passionate.

➼The Lich.

Am I crazy for adding this one? Maybe. But then again, all the props if this suits someone's monsterfucker niche.

- The only way I can see any type of relationship happening is that you either worship him like some ancient deity and listen to his every comand or you're an immortal being that has been fighting him since the mushroom war, like two sides of a coin.

- He's got a neat voice I won't deny that, it can even be comforting.

- He thrives in cold environments, you're gonna need to carry a sweater whenever you talk.

- You once tried to gift him jewelry once since he's insistent on having the princesses crown jewels.

- He values a loyal follower, wouldn't want to get rid of you any time soon since he knows if anything were to happen to him you'll find a way to bring him back.

- Showers you in praises

- I don't know what else to add. This dude has a set goal of destroying all life, gotta love an eldritch man who knows what he wants, but unless you're actively fighting against him or working for him, things would be very one sided with this one.

- But hey, when he's prisoned in Prismo's dream room he'd be so bummed out that you can indulge him in your hobbies and interests without complaint.

- If you're his long time enemy and watch over him in Pb's attic, it's almost near impossible to get some alone time to yourself cause the second you feel needy, he gets in your head and teases you. "Go ahead dear, no need to feel shy heh."

➼Hunson Abadeer:

Another canon dilf.

- Hunson is the last person you'd think of in regards of father material but then again he eventually tries to reconnect with Marcy and you find that redeemable.

- As a partner, I can imagine he's a combination of old timey formality but also a little unhinged due to his demonic nature and profession.

- The guy knows no boundaries when it comes to the fridge, eats your snacks (even if they have your name on it!) unless you hide them from view.

- Atleast he knows how to organize, would set up a 5 star dinner date and have demons perform for your entertainment.

- Sometimes you'd tried to do activities for three in an attempt to bond with Marceline, but where there is room for 3 there's room for 4 (she always brings Pb cause she keeps her level headed)

- You help him do his eyeliner and advise him on "hip" clothing when the two of you go to Marceline's concerts.

Luke Sullivan.

"Beast mode, Baby!"

Character designer Kaname Fujioka mentioned that alongside Kimberly and Jamie, Luke is to serve as one of the big 3 to the new generation of street fighter fans. So, who is this guy? Is he supposed to be the new Ryu? Or something else?

He was revealed in Street Fighter 5 as the final DLC character. Back then i was expecting Makoto. I was quite disapointed, alongside other people who were expecting other things. But the development team had a lot of faith in him. Like a lot. Going as far to call him the future of street fighter?

in 5, Luke comes off as a cocky and arrogant young dude. Fresh off the army with a little bit of encouragement from Guile, he has a strong will to back it up. He's not too respectful to his opponents and doesn't seem to be taking this fighting thing seriously. he does seem to enjoy it though.

Also a cool detail about him in 5 is that some of his moves have this paint splash effect, alluding now to street fighter 6' whole aesthetic. They really meant this "future of street fighter" shit. How cool!

Time passes, and he's revealed to be included in Street Fighter 6. More humble and mature, he takes the role of the guide of the story mode of the game. Due to past experiences he seems more laid back. He seems like a really cool older brother now! This maturity is also shown to the rest of the cast. He's really endearing now.

He's also rocking a brand new design that a lot of people agree is much better to look at. It works with his MMA background very well. The t-shirt with the design meant to replace the tattoo he had in 5 coupled with the open hoodie makes for a fun look! And let's not leave out his forearms, one of his most recognizable traits.

His gameplay is pretty fun. I've found myself playing him more. He's a simple character to get down, being very easy for beginners to pick up. But at the same time, there's some depth to him. Here's him preforming one of the greatest comebacks in the past few years on the biggest stage of fighting games. I saw this live. Jaw on the floor. I wanna get good at him so bad now. His upbeat playful attitude makes for a character meant for the type of person looking to steamroll their opponents with a big dumb smile on their face. Chances are that the smile on his face will be wider.

Luke has shaped up to be one of The Dudes of all time. He's a walking definition of a gamble. Capcom took a huge one with him and when it look like it wasn't going well at the start, he's now well beloved through the efforts of the voice actor, who loves him just as much.

I think that through his journey, Luke is going to grow and evolve with the rest of the cast. I think one day, he's gonna be a respected and accomplished old master. But right now? He's gonna do him.

Let's go back to the voice actor. Aleks Le. This guy's efforts over the past few years have turned the perception of this character around entirely. Even going as far to implement it in his voice work between games.

He's been making memes and has been working with talented people online to make all sorts of content to really show the world who luke really is. This guy has a real passion for his character that i'm starting to see more and more VAs freely express and i love it all. What he's done for Luke and what Luke has done for him will be studied somewhere.

Ok so number 24 of the oc ask game, here we go. I'm gonna put this under a read more because it got away a bit at the end.

[24] How hard it is for them to not allow their emotions to cloud their judgement?

Depending on the emotion it can be easy or impossible. She's pretty good at not letting anger cloud her judgement, and she's very good at not letting love cloud her judgement although that is mostly because of the long part of this question.

So, the long part.

Fear.

She cannot stop her fears from controlling her. She isn't afraid of much, but what she is afraid of she cannot handle well or on her own really.

Fear is why she doesn't tell Duncan that even after Raymond adopted them she didn't stop loving him romantically she just hid it. Because if he found out and rejected her it would break her heart which could either make her snap and go evil mode or kill her from literally breaking her heart. Spoiler alert it kills her anyway just in an incredibly slow and agonizing wasting away kinda way because to him they're siblings. That's not till a few years after the events of the game though.

It's why after she got out of jail she didn't go back. She was terrified that Raymond and Duncan wouldn't want her. That Raymond would think taking her in was a waste and a mistake. That Duncan wouldn't forgive her for not coming back when she said she would. For being a failure to them, and worse them just shutting her out of their lives completely.

So she ran away, and she kept making excuses for why she couldn't go back.

First she had to make herself a person again after what her stint in jail had made her into.

Then she needed a bachelors so she would have a degree...but a bachelors isn't that impressive she almost had that before she left so she may as well get a Masters.

Then the squid incident happened and she had a whole new layer of fear about how they would react if she went back because now they're not even family. Now she's died then was in a coma for 2 months, now her arm is basically held on by magic and science. Now her blood is grape purple. Now she has to somehow figure out how to have a firstborn child that she has to give to Fry because that's how her magic and his weird desperate blood magic was able to have enough power to work considering he didn't know what he was doing.

So obviously JUST a Masters degree isn't enough to go back and cover up all of that. She HAS to get a PHD now. Then she has to wait for the actual diploma before she can go but uh oh whoops Raymond called her before it came in and now she has to go to Hong Kong!

And if there's one thing she's more afraid of than being rejected by Raymond and Duncan it's anything happening to them that she could have prevented. It would have been fine if she didn't know but once she does the fear of something happening to them out weighed the fear of being thrown away.

Now the next bit is getting again into not canon my friend and I went oo neat setting! But! What if..... about. So how her version of the game goes can go two ways depending on how much of Duncans anger she feels like dealing with when they get to the locked harbour gate right at the start. (Although no matter which way she choses it ends the same anyway with them getting picked up and brought to Tidal Moon that first night. It mostly just determines whether Carter lives or if Duncan and Reina both get traumatized)

If she doesn't wanna deal with his anger at some of her revelations and goes along with the intro to the game then when they get told they'll be staying on a boat she would already be reacting poorly and letting her fear cloud her judgement because boy is she rightfully terrified of boats. More specifically fishing boats, which the bolthole very much is.

She's trying very hard to convince everyone not to stick her on a boat. She has no shame, no pride, nothing she does not want to go on a boat, she is terrified and showing it, and only the fact that she knows she has to keep it together for Duncan keeps her from having a full blown panic attack in front of Kindley Cheng and everyone there at the thought of having to go on a boat.

So she wouldn't even be able to set foot on that boat of her own free will. The second she even sees the bolt hole and her mind isn't there. She's reliving the squid incident and her mind is underwater with the darkness closes in as she relives dying under the water from her injuries and lack of oxygen.

So she crumples on the dock leading to the boat because her brain is basically telling her body that she's dead again. Now whether the others have a chance to see this on their own before her magic starts going haywire and the first uncontrolled appearance of Nancy.

Nancy at this point being basically all of Reinas blood coming outside her body in a weird blood overlay of her eventual future daughter that pilots Reinas body like an exosuit. Nancy naturally has no conciousness or control because she doesn't exist at this point she is just something that magic has forced to be something that will be but won't be for an unknown amount of time. What she does have is a magical compulsion to protect Reina from any and all harm to Reinas life because Reina needs to be for Nancy to be. Nancy can be controlled by a magic using Bernard like Fry or in Hong Kongs case Jean-Pierre because she was created by Bernard blood magic.

So Reina is now completely unconscious on the verge of dying again and Nancy is up and running the show and just wailing on everything around. Nancy even being around is giving off the magical equivalent of the bat signal just a giant bright fuckoff signal for anyone who has the ability to see it.

They get rescued by Tidal Moon but again because of her fear, and her not being able to keep her fear from controlling her that situation got so much worse than it should have been. I'm summing it up at this point because describing more about that situation and how she lets her fear run the show is basically me just rewriting the game from her non canonical setting.

Nameless Cat is a really good jump n run with really good puzzles and pixelart and music

Blackbox and the Picross Luna series for two puzzle games that’re wildly different from each other. Also The Color (Game) series, the newest one is currently Orange (game). Or Lith for slide puzzles

Polytopia for strategy

Cardinal Quest 2, The Dark Wildness, and the mobile port of Nethack are wildly different roguelikes

StickRanger is a…unique…retro take on rpgs

Cat Forest is cute, so is Cats and Ghosts

A Girl Adrift and Realm Grinder are two clickers that play pretty different from the usual clicker games (I like both of them and usually really don’t like this genre)

The Bullet Hell Monday series for, well, Bullet Hell. Also Towel Fight 2, if you look past the late 2000‘s humor

Only One for an action game

Project Muse as a more casual Rhythm game with a lot of free2play stuff compared to the usual hardcore + 300€ DLC stuff that floods the AppStore

The Witches Isle as a short point n click game, as well as the ports of the Cube Escape games

WorldNeverLand- Elnea Kingdom is a fantasy live sim that lets you have more jobs than just farmer and also has a surprising amount of worldbuilding

…if you ignore the Gacha and general Fear Of Missing Put (and really, please do) then Genshin can be a fun game imo. Their other game, Honkai Star Rail, is just as bad with Gacha but has a way better presentation and different feel to genshin tho! For another Gacha, this time as a 2D adventure game, Guardian Tales

The first four Sonic games are available as remasters for free, as well as a lot of other classic Sega games, including Phantasy star 2-4! The offline save for that one apparently doesn’t work tho, so don’t pay to unlock it

Sky: Children of the Light just started its new season a week ago, and it comes with an upgraded camera mode! (As pretty and chill as it is, FOMO and grinding fuels applies her too, tough)

Narcissus is a neat lil autorunner game that starts of easy but also has challenge (also got some nice background tracks)

Hungry Master and Electro Master are cute little arcade games, as well as Duel Otters which is also designed to be easily played with someone else!

And Pokémon Go is not dead, quite the contrary!

HERE ARE MY IDEAS FOR AN IMAGINATORS REVAMP/REWRITE AU RAHHHH

Skylanders Imaginators has always had a soft spot in my heart for being the first (and so far only) Skylanders game ive actually played. Despite it being a bit lackluster compared to the other games, it’s still my favorite and I wanna do it justice. I still wanna keep the feel of Imaginators, like not have it be a complete overhaul. Just have the existing story be more complex and interesting.

So here’s a summary of the story mode.

It starts as usual with Kaos sending a Doomlander to steal a book from the academy. Said book being the Tome of the Ancients, and it contains loads of knowledge on Mind Magic and what the ancients have made. (This is how he finds out about the Helm of Ultimate Wisdom and the Mind Golem later)

The Brain is replaced by a character known only as the Mind Golem. It is an automaton created by the Ancients as an immense source of knowledge and Mind Magic power. It was sealed away eons ago by the Dragons, as it had used its power and sentience for evil. You have to try and stop Kaos from reawakening it, but spoiler alert: he somehow does so anyway.

Cue the Mushroom River and Scholarville levels. Kaos then tries to create a Doomlander with the combined power of the Imaginite and the Helm of Ultimate Wisdom at Shellmont Shores. Lo and behold, something goes wrong, a giant vortex of Mind Magic is created, and we have to fix it.

Afterwards, Glumshanks figures out the Helm contains directions to an ancient tomb witch houses the Mind Golem.

We then have to take back the Sky Baron Battleship. After doing that, Kaos uses the Helm a second time and successfully summons/creates a giant darkness-Imaginite-goo monster, (Guacamole felt a little too silly) thanks to the energy shared from the Mind Golem now that he knows where it is. We explode that gooey goober into a million pieces and proceed to follow Kaos on a wild goose chase throughout the next few levels on the Battleship as he goes after the Mind Golem.

Along the way, we encounter many Doomlanders, whether they be miniboss enemies or full bossfights at the end of a level. As we progress they become more monstrous as Kaos gets closer to the Mind Golem. They are decorated with Imaginite shards we have to destroy in order to defeat them.

Finally, Kaos reaches the Vault of Visions, where the Mind Golem is. Kaos finds and reawakens it with the Mind Magic he’s mastered, we have to fight it, and he runs away with it. Little does he know, the golem has its own plans. (dun dun DUNNN)

Now this would be the part where Kaos tells his supposed “new toy” to cast a brainwashing spell. But the Mind Golem is like “lmao nah” and brainwashes Kaos instead! Kaos’ immense ego and ignorance are pushed aside turning the sorcerer into a truly terrifying threat. This is all too much for Glumshanks and he contacts the Skylanders saying “uh hi I might need your help Lord Kaos has gone insane again” or something along those lines. Level or two later we get to Kaos’ lair and confront the Mind Golem. We still have to use a giant tactical cake to do so, that parts pretty funny so I’m keeping it.

Finally, we get inside with Kaos and the Mind Golem waiting for us. Kaos snaps out of his trance and scolds the golem, only for him to accidentally fuse with it somehow,(?) starting the final boss. Idk it’s pretty similar to the final boss of Giants but anything is better than the Goku wannabe we got tbh. No idea if the Mind Golem is going to be redeemed (like how The Brain was canonically) or if we have to destroy one of the last remaining pieces of ancient technology for the sake of Skylands. This idea’s still a wip.

But… yeah that’s the main synopsis of the story! I wanted to try and have stuff like Mind Magic, Imaginite, and The Doomlanders play a bigger role. They were kinda just “there” canonically.

Sigma's Moon Palace is certainly pretty unique for a final level, it really gives its own sense of anticipation and finality

So fun fact: if you play on hard mode, which I did here by loading a seperate save file, you actually get different cutscenes and circumstances here:

Vile will suddenly pop back up and trap whatever character you weren't using when you beat him, forcing you to handle the rest of the level solo.

Sigma will grab you after a few hits and monologue, leading to the other character suddenly returning and saving you

You actually can't even fight Lumine on Easy Mode

I love the tracks for Vile, Sigma and especially Lumine's 2 forms! Hell the normal Maverick boss theme is my absolute favorite boss theme in the franchise!

So anyway, Lumine

Apparently he's the actual mastermind who was stringing Sigma along all this time.

And Sigma is dead for good now apparently

Ok soooo....where to begin?

First off: How is Sigma dead now? Wanna explain that game?

Don't get me wrong: I LOVE the idea of Sigma being gone for good and making space for another villain but, much like with X5, you can't just have a villain like Sigma, whose whole deal is that he can't die easily due to being a virus, and just arbitrarily having him perma dying just because another character said so.

At least X5 sorta insinuated that his programming had gotten strained from spreading the virus worldwide, what's this game's excuse? Especially knowing that, according to the Zero games (specifically Zero 2, which had come out 1 year prior) the Sigma Virus was destroyed after X used the Mother Elf during the Elf Wars. So....what? Is this a fakeout? Can the Virus exist without Sigma? Give me an explanation dammit!

But even then Lumine...is just there. He does nothing for the whole game and then just pops up suddenly going "Oh it was me all along!" Now I'm going to act all crazy and evil!"

And look I like the idea of the New Generation Reploids! In a way they're a better version of the general idea behind Sigma of being an intagible threat that you can just kill, in his case a virus. The New Reploids are not infected by Sigma but they do carry his ideology, so even though Lumine may look down on him he's really just spewing Sigma's own drivel but for his own ends: now every one of these new Reploids is a potential Sigma but with (hopefully) their own personality. In a way Sigma may have died but his spirit lives on through them!

However I detest the way that this game tries to insist that these new Reploids "have the power to go Maverick at will"

Let's look at past games shall we?

To start off X1's manual states that the first Mavericks popped up way before the creation of the Maverick Hunters and Sigma, meaning before Zero and Wily's Virus were discovered

Now throughout the SNES games the Mavericks have no dialogue, however there have been various secondary (usually japan exclusive) materials that have delved a bit more on their personalities. This info has been condensed into small character bios in the X Legacy Collection and if you read those bios you'll find out that ALL of the X1 Mavericks were acting of their own will

Flame Mammoth was a bully who took advantage of Sigma's revellion as an excuse to do some damage

Launch Octopus had always had some resentment against humanity and Sigma gave him an outlet

Armored Armadillo was just blindly loyal to Sigma as his commander

The same goes for the X2 Mavericks, like Wheel Gator who was a sociopath addicted to violence or Overdrive Ostrich who had lost his ability to fly after an accident and then Sigma gave him a new reason to live by enlisting his help

The only exceptions are Wire Sponge, who Sigma created specifically to be a Maverick, and Magna Centipede, who was brainwashed

The X3 Mavericks are all infected tbf, but the X4 guys are all free willed which is made abundantly clear in the game, even Magma Dragoon, who is working for Sigma, says it was just because Sigma had offered to make him more powerful

Most of the X5 guys are infected but Grizzly Slash and Mattrex were both weapons brokers doing illegal activities and had no connection to Sigma, case in point if you let the Colony fall and spread the virus further they'll have different dialogues because they're now infected implying they weren't before and were just evil pricks

The X6 Mavericks are either just evil for the sake of it or are actually resentful of their actions but still do them out of loyalty to Gate, as is the case of Rainy Turtloid and Blizard Wolfang.

X7's Red Alert were a gang of violent, outlaw vigilantes way before they even met Sigma, and it's implied that they started killing innocent people to gain their DNA data before Sigma corrupted them, plus Red himself was never infected in the first place and did everything out of his own free will

So no X8. The New Generation Reploid's ability to "go Maverick at will" is as special as Homo Sapiens' ability to run on two legs when compared to a Neanderthal. This shit only spraeds misinformation among fans.

Anyway depending on the character who deals the final blow to Lumine you get a short special cutscene:

X just doubts the whole situation

Zero ponders with a smile that, with Sigma really gone, he may not have to fight anymore and then looks at X, which if you wanna be generous you could theorise is him thinking he can finally put himself in a capsule to be studied like in his X6 ending....or maybe he's thinking about finally boning X

Axl's ending on the other hand...is far more interesting:

I don't think I need to tell you that this has sparked over a decade of fan theories. What's going on? Did Lumine embed a piece of himself inside Axl? Is Axl going to turn evil? Is this why he's nowhere to be seen in the Zero games?

Man I can't wait for the next game to answer these questions!

Mega Man X8 came out in 2004

Get used to this sort of thing with this franchise

X8 is, to me, halfway through in my X games ranking

Way better than X6 and X7, has far more going for it than X3 and while it has some similar issues as X5 it also has more positives I feel.

However it's not nearly as well designed as X1

It's technically more creative than X2 but also more inconsistent and more intrusive

It shares X4's issue of having lackluster final levels although less so, and IMO has better bosses if for nothing else then because they don't all restart their pattern when you hit them with their weakness

However outside of X4's relatively disappointing yet still decent X campaign it's still more inconsistent and doesn't reach X4's highs aka Zero's campaign.

And this concludes the X series!

For all intents and purposes it's the most inconsistent Mega Man series, but I'm also glad it exists because when it was godd it was pretty damn good and I feel there's still a lot of untapped potential with its gameplay mechanics, which is why I truly hope an X9 will one day be a thing and be given the same kind of polish as Mega Man 11

But until that day we can only wait...and move towards the future

i saw your post about the final ep of technoroid and i have really really long ask incoming, i'm sorry, I had to bc i have too much to say for the reply feature LMAO

I have answers to some of those questions as someone who's read the game story. first, I have to agree that it should've been two episodes. I feel like episodes 11 and 12 should've been 3 episodes, it would've been a much better pace. second, i also think the epilogue doesn't answer any questions. The game starts with KNOCC in sleep mode in some random storage room in Babel with no memories, and Stand Alone are all robots now, so I was REALLY dying to find out what happened. Stand Alone I could guess what happened, but the ending of the anime almost contradicts how KNOCC ends up. also, in the game, it seems like KNOCC's victory at the end of the anime was suppressed? because no one remembers who they are. Hell, even Bora doesn't (though he may just be withholding). The only ones who seem to remember who they are are Esora and Nobel. So I REALLY wanna know how it came to that. third, about Bora. i was also really looking forward to Bora's emotional awakening scene. in the game, he is a detective who has a lot of hatred for both the police and the WG (and also Babel). the latter makes sense, but the former?? he's full on ACAB in the game which is really fucking hilarious in my opinion. he's a high level climber in Babel too, but he doesn't partake much and only did it for the privileges of being "inside" the tower. (i also think he looks better with his headphones btw. i miss them. but he also looks completely different in game.) fourth, i was actually expecting something darker to have happened to kite (i think a lot of people who read the game story feel the same) and i had theories and shit in my head, so kite donating his organs by his free will was a bit anticlimactic for me? and as a kite fan myself i also felt like i really don't know enough about human him

fifth, about nobel. Yeah, no i'm lost too. in the game it's revealed that he's a "Dark Master" which is what illegal android builders are called. he says he does research on robotics but what it is specifically i have no idea. i'm pretty sure he built the two robots that are currently working as bora's partners in his detective agency, but it's a wild guess. sixth, there's a lot of in game story things I can't possibly cover in one single ask so feel free to hit me up i need someone to go insane about this franchise with

Thanks for reaching out! It's exciting to find other people getting into something I'm super new to. Between this ask and your big long awesome summary post, I'm beginning to suspect something about Technoroid the game vs Technoroid the anime... (This is one got long, oh boy)

I'm wondering if they may be slightly divergent timelines. You mention the anime is meant to be a sort of prequel/set-up to the events of the game, but the differences that arise between them lead me to suspect either a) some drastic changes happen over the time-skip (not unheard of but maybe unlikely? There are a lot of contradictions arising), or b) that they're not directly related. From what I gather, the game seems to be a much "darker" timeline to what the anime suggests may come to pass.

We can't rule out the possibility that things were changed on the anime side for the sake of telling a more coherent story, however. You can cram a lot more content into a game (esp a platform like a mobile/gatcha) than about 4.5 hrs of a single season of anime. Making changes to characters' motivations or backgrounds to simplify their arc just makes for cleaner presentation. Thinking specifically about Kite/Kaito here; there's absolutely a disconnect between his apparent fate in the game and his choices in the anime. We only had 12 episodes to introduce, characterize, and face-turn the mean rival character. It's a clear arc within that span, but doesn't connect cleanly to the events of Unison Heart because it was likely trimmed down for time and clarity. Plus a happy(ish) ending with only a mild amount of ambiguity is a nice way to wrap up a single-season run. (However it did just occur to me that the object Esola drops in the anime's timeskip ending is an apple... oh the symbolism, the foreshadowing!)

Still, the differences do offer some intrigue and a fair amount of room for theorizing and creating. This is exactly the kind of undefined space bloggers and fanfic writers thrive in, after all. There is apparently a manga currently in serialization so it's also possible it may tie things together, or even offer another "timeline" to the story. Who knows. I'll have to track it down and take a look. And I might have to play the damn gatcha game too...gr...

Regarding the apparent "suppression" of KNOCC's victory; on the one hand, that really sucks. They worked hard and literally braved death to get that win. On the other, from a real-world standpoint, I can kind of understand how they themselves end up kind of obscure. Consider how fast today's media cycle is, then amplify that into the near-ish future. A short-lived, "flash-in-the-pan" Climber group is liable to be forgotten pretty quickly, even if their success did mark a huge civil rights win for robot-kind. However we can't rule out the likely explanation that there may be some canon media suppression. We know the Exclusionists have those strings to pull and it would make perfect sense to do so. (As an aside, I wonder how "sleep-mode" interacts with the limited lifespan clause. Maybe it just puts their timer on "pause" for a while, like cryo-stasis would for a human...?)

Good to hear my boy Bora is making his way in the world and has some friends to help. It's kind of awesome that he went independent after downloading a conscience. What's that saying? There are no "good" cops because "good" cops quit? Blows my mind a bit to try to think of him as a Climber but I guess a) that's the game's main framing so he needs a reason to be there and b) Babel's performers do have a lot of social clout, it's prudent to get into that circle if you're, say, possibly investigating some political corruption. He also has that handsome voice, I bet he does just fine.

It tickles me that Nobel remains a weird, morally-dubious cryptid across both halves of this. I would expect nothing less, if I'm being honest. While I was mulling over this ask, I had a deep think about him illegally building androids and I realized something. Assuming little else changes about androids besides having personhood under the law (as in, no longer being able to be purchased or owned as property) and having limited lifespans... They're going to "die out." Presumably personhood complicates the process of "buying" (hiring from scratch?) an android, and if Exclusionist sympathies still persist, nobody's going to buy or build more androids. Society is still explicitly capitalist; there's little profit to be made from buying or selling a worker-entity that may decide to up and leave one day. All you'd be doing is essentially sponsoring a person into existence. Which is cool from a social standpoint but not a great business move. Nobel might just be taking it upon himself to perpetuate his "species" since he's realized it's not likely anyone else will. (And if that isn't the case, I'm damn well going to write about it because that shit is compelling to me.)

shadow dragon progress (and 3H)

I started typing this in the tags for my doodle post but then wrote too much as per usual so here it is

yeah going into shadow dragon I didn’t have any idea who I’d end up using most. I always gravitate towards magic users, and I rarely end up using axe mains, not sure why. so yeah going in I figured my mains would be navarre and linde, and that minerva and tiki would high powered units I’d use out of necessity. and I was SUPER looking forward to using Xane since his gimmick is unique.

What’s actually happened is Lena promoted early through staff spamming, and then Abel is an absolute beast. I don’t remember why I initially favored him over Cain but it spiraled out of control and now since he nearly single-handedly cleared Michalis’s map he’s like promoted level 18. I tried that map more times than any other, and anyone else I let take multiple hits ended up dying. I parked Abel in the woods and loaded him up with javelins, and he dodged most of the long-range magic and just went to town on the wyvern riders and cavaliers. I did use a couple physics but honestly not a bad use of them.

 My other good units are promoted Merric, Minerva, and promtoed Caeda in a pinch. I promoted Navarre but honestly he gets hit too easily and he’s still too frail. Maria’s promoted as well but I still mainly user her for healing, but that’s still super useful.

And I’m not using Xane! :( idk I just didn’t get into it, I don’t like that you have to pick weapons for him to have if he’s going to transform, and I frankly didn’t look up how long he stays transformed so I get nervous about him turning back. I really miss having a dancer, I love strategic layer that that adds and dancers are usually one of if not my top favorite units.

I’ve been trying to train Gordin up since the start for god knows what reason, he’s like level 17 now and I could promote him now but eh. waste of master seal unless he’s 20. I also usually deploy Jeorge now as well but I rarely use either. Don’t really use the whitewings even tho I always deploy them, I wanted to train up Est but it’s so hard for her to even do damage to enemies, setting up kills is a bitch.

Haven’t used Tiki at all, I don’t know how you’re meant to distribute dragonstone uses and idk if hammerne works on it but even it does it’s too much of a pain to figure out so. no Tiki. idk if I’ll regret that later but.

Marth is decent. He’s level 20 now so I’ve stopped letting him fight most times but he’s pretty good at getting people out of scrapes if he’s near enough to help.

so yeah that’s shadow dragon rn, it’s a really solid fe game! reminds me a lot of the gba games. maybe some time I’ll go back and play the FE3 incarnation...but I’m a ways off from that. I have so many priorities before that:

I’m on the second to last chapter of my hard mode Azure Moon run! :D It’s been super smooth sailing esp now that most of my units are flying, but I’m still happy I’ve been able to get to this point. My lunatic Verdant Wind has stalled out, I’m stuck on the Gautier Inheritance :( I was doing pretty well but I haven’t been able to deal with the waves of enemies...honestly kind of like the Knight-Filled Sky chapter I just beat, but I don’t have an Abel to tank everything for me. Byleth is my tankiest character and even she can’t deal with all of them, nobody else really stands a chance. idk if warping her up to fight Miklan after most of the reinforcements had left would work, probably not tho, but I think it’s a moot point bcs I don’t think Lysithea has warp yet.

...but anyway I’ll be happy to finish that a hard mode run for sure (since I can’t remember if I beat a hard mode verdant wind before), and I’m DETERMINED to actually FINISH this shadow dragon playthrough.

i just rly wanna play botw. im literally so close to finishing it. all the shrines, all the memories. i found the remaining 6 side quests for me to do, and im gonna be doing them soon-ish. ive explored the majority of hyrule castle (and even climbed on top of the tallest spire!! that was so satisfying, i could see basically the entire fucking map, it was amazing), and . i already decided im not gonna bother trying to find all of the koroks lol so once i finish these 6 sidequests, i can basically just.......... go for it

Unlike characters like Mammon or Leviathan, who are pretty open about how they are insecure or how they get upset whenever MC does something romatic with the other love interests, Lucifer tends to quell his own anxieties by acting as though MC knows that he's the only one for him.

You see it in a lot of events, especially the ones where they have to compete over the MC, but it does pop up in the main story, too. The first thing that comes to mind is the last valentine's event, where Lucifer was all like "I know you best, MC, so of course you're going to choose my chocolate/me blah blah blah." Or in the wedding event where he's the only one who doesn't do an over the top proposal because all you need is ❤love❤ or something like that.

I mean, I don't believe all of it is a facade. Lucifer's the Avatar of Pride: his confidence does come from somewhere lol. However, I find it fascinating where bits and pieces of his own insecurities peak out through off-handed remarks or private yearnings.

One of the first instances we see this is in Lesson 22-C, where if you ask Lucifer to hug you, he asks if there was any time in the human realm when you thought about just him. He specifically states that he doesn't think he could handle if you thought about his brothers or anything of that nature.

It's such a nice moment of Lucifer conveying genuine vunerability that it's one of the stories that I constantly replay lol and totally not because of the whole master thing

As Season 2 goes on, I feel like Lucifer does start to accept that his brothers all value the MC, as well, and he seems less upset by that fact. I can't recall if there is a specific moment in Season 2 that made him realize this, but it's probably just from watching the various instances of the MC and the brothers supporting and loving each other. Like how the MC also chips in and gives Beel some of their life candle thing or how MC and the brothers were worried about Lucifer after he lost his memory and whatnot. Things like that!!

Either way, it becomes clear that Lucifer is no longer insecure of his brothers in Season 3, but, uh oh, a new contender comes into play. Lucifer's and Diavolo's relationship is...complicated to say the least, but it's obvious that they care for each other. Lucifer is Diavolo's right hand man, and supports everything he says/does (unless it's stupid lol).

However, when Lucifer overhears Diavolo's attempted confession to the MC in Lesson 48-18 (before he gets cockblocked rip demon prince), Lucifer acts super distant and even Mammon comments that he seems irritated. Juxposed with that flashback scene of the confession, it's obvious that Lucifer is actually super upset, but he doesn't bring it up to the MC or anyone really.

In Hard Mode Lesson 50-16, Diavolo forces Lucifer to talk by directly confronting him about that night. He states that he hasn't said anything because Diavolo is entitled to his own feelings. It isn't Lucifer's place to say what he can or cannot feel. Then, Lucifer says that he is entitled to his own feelings, as well, but he specifically mentions how the same is true for his brothers.

And I just find it fascinating how Lucifer is now no longer insecure of his own brothers' feelings toward the MC, and how he's actually fine with it. However, Diavolo is still fair game. Not only is he the only one who can challenge Lucifer's authority, but, as stated earlier in the lesson, not considered to be part of the family. I wouldn't say that Lucifer feels 'threatened' by Diavolo's feelings because as he said before, it's 1) none of his business and 2) MC's choice of who they wanna get with. However, Lucifer does seem upset by the fact that now Diavolo likes the MC and that MC may like Diavolo back, just like he was upset that MC might of thought of someone other than him while they were in the human world in between Seasons 1 and 2.

Right now, I don't think there are any moments of Lucifer being insecure of any of the love interests in Season 4, but maybe that might change. Or maybe not. I don't know.

Anyway, this entire post is a long and convulated way to say how much I loved this moment in the Leisure Land event. In Lesson 2-10, if you choose to stay with Lucifer instead of going to the stall with Diavolo, he says this:

Before I start I wanna give a huge shout out to @mephones-declining-mental-health who was actually the first to point a lot of this out. We spent a lot of time putting this all together and she deserves a ton of credit for it. So go check them out.

ok so mcsm is an old game so quick refresher on episode 6: Jesse and his gang end up in another world and are put into a murder-mystery type situation. They’re trapped in the mansion due to zombies and have to survive until the day while the person who invited them all to the mansion (who goes by “The White Pumpkin”) kills them off one-by-one in order to obtain the Enchanted Flint And Steel. Which Jesse is also trying to get. Minus the main cast, everyone in this murder mystery is based off and voiced by famous minecraft YouTubers from the time. This was a pretty genius move on TellTale’s part because it meant the players were already going in with a certain level of attachment to these characters, allowing the game to kill them off in a way that would be emotionally impactful without effecting the plot of the overall story that much.

The people you meet in the mansion are the following youtubers: CaptainSparklez, TorqueDawg, StampyCat, TheDiamondMinecart, LDShadowLady, StacyPlays, and CassieRose

Multiple of these YouTubers are killed off (though some can be either saved or killed depending on your choices) and [spoiler warning] Cassie Rose is revealed to be the white pumpkin at the end. Her motivation being that she’s stuck away from her home world for and desperate to get back.

Now here’s the thing: that doesn’t make Any sense.

Cassie doesn’t have a single line or any piece of evidence that would necessarily point to her being the white pumpkin. The only real evidence that points to her feels so last minute and forced. And just completely disregards any other scene in which you were collecting evidence.

This would be less frustrating if there weren’t multiple other people that had far more evidence against them. But the one who has the most undeniable evidence against them? StampyCat.

Now I don’t know if they changed the story halfway through development or if the writers at TellTale are just bad at their jobs (equally likely but there is some evidence to suggest Cassie was not always the intended White Pumpkin) but Stampy has the most evidence, best motive, and would have just been a very interesting villain entirely.

Let’s go over everything.

So for starters. The first murder.

Spoiler alert! But the first murder is TorqueDawg. He stands under a dispenser that shoots him with a poison tipped arrow and he dies.

Now, tipped arrows were a relatively new thing at the time, and the game makes a point out of this. A lot of the characters in the mansion Don’t Know what a tipped arrow is. But a few do.

After the second murder (which we’ll address in a moment) you have the ability to interrogate three of the characters. LDShadowLady, TheDiamondMinecart, and StampyCat

Lizzie (LDShadowLady) is fully aware of the tipped arrows. Both Dan (TheDiamondMinecart) and Stampy point this out. When you ask her about it, she says she does know how to make them and taught others about it.

One of the people she talked about the tip arrows to is Cassie, aka the white pumpkin. So story-wise it does make sense. But Lizzie also states that Stampy had asked her about the tipped arrows, and specifically how to make them. So we know he has full knowledge of them.

But what does Stampy say when you ask him about the tipped arrows?

“I’ve never seen anything like it before”

This is Never addressed. Not once. Stampy blatantly lies about knowledge of a murder weapon when he seemingly has no reason to do so and he gets away with it.

So Stampy 1. Has the ability to create the weapon used for the murder and 2. Felt the need to hide this ability.

So that’s pretty suspicious right off the bat.

Now these interviews are caused by the second murder. So let’s talk about that.

Second murder: CaptainSparklez is pushed into a sand pit and suffocated by a very elaborate redstone trap. The trap is activated by one of the buttons on the table that they’re all sitting at.

Each of the buttons activates the trap, but only one of them was actually pressed. The connection we’re supposed to make here is that the White Pumpkin set up multiple buttons to keep suspicion off of themself.

The people sitting at the buttons were StampyCat, TheDiamondMinecart, LDShadowLady and Jesse’s friend Lucas.

Now you’ll notice that CassieRose, the actual White Pumpkin, is not on this list.

TheDiamondMinecart (Dan) is the one who presses the button. Dan is supposed to be a Red Herring here as he didn’t know what the button would do and pressed it anyway (though he’s a bad red herring. And we’ll discuss that in a moment). Even with the knowledge that it wasn’t the white pumpkin who pressed it, it doesn’t make any sense for her to have not been sitting at a seat with a button. And this is never really addressed either. Making this scene a complete waste of time, unless of course the original white pumpkin was intended to be one of those 4 people.

The interviews give us a lot of knowledge about the interpersonal relationships of the characters and what their skill levels are. Such as what I discussed earlier about the tipped arrows. But one thing that stays consistent is Jesse’s insistence that whoever the white pumpkin is, they must be good at redstone.

And he’s right. Every trap set by the white pumpkin at this point was redstone activated. Whoever made it must have been very skilled with it. And out of all the suspects there’s only one who has that level of ability. Stampy.

Both Dan and Lizzie make a point of saying that Stampy is a master of redstone and his skill is unmatched. But when Stampy is asked about this, his first instinct is to lie about it. When you catch him in this lie, he immediately back-tracks.

So Stampy

Has knowledge on how to build the first murder weapon (which wasn’t knowledge everyone had at the time)

Completely lies about this knowledge and is never called out for it

Was sitting at one of the buttons that caused the second murder

Is the only one with the redstone knowledge capable of creating the white pumpkins traps.

So there you go! That’s a ton of evidence against him! And pretty much no evidence against Cassie other than the fact that she also knew about tipped arrows at the time.

In fact the dinner scene confirms Cassie can’t be a suspect unless we’re supposed to believe she just hoped someone else would do the job for her. Which considering she’s later characterized to be super paranoid and unwilling to leave things to chance, I doubt it.

While looking through secret tunnels you manage to find a secret conversation between Dan and Lizzie where Dan admits that he was the one who pushed the button on accident and that he feels super guilty about it. Jessie spots the white pumpkin looking through a painting at this moment. And considering he’s also seeing Dan and Lizzie, and he knows where Lucas is, out of all the people sitting near buttons, Stampy is the only one left. If the White Pumpkin was someone who was sitting at one of the buttons (which it should have been) it would have had to be Stampy

Now I do think having Dan push the button is realistic and fine. It’s a button. Everyone likes pushing buttons. But the fact that the white pumpkin would Bet On That Happening and not sit near a button at all feels like it couldn’t possibly be right, especially because everything else is so thought through and calculated. It feels out of character for Cassie to do. Cassie being the white pumpkin also means those interview scenes were an entire waste of time. They gave us no real information that could be used in the case and crossed off the real murderer as a possible suspect.

If *Stampy* was the murderer however, this would have made a lot more sense. As the interviews would have given us a lot of info about him and against him. Plus his relationship to the others. Even if Dan turned out to be the one who pressed the button, we still would have gotten that important info on Stampy. Not to mention that Dan just so happening to press the button before the White Pumpkin got a chance is a lot more believable than the White Pumpkin betting on that.

Now the way the story actually goes is that Stampy is revealed to have the enchanted flint and steel (even though before he claimed to not even want it) and as I’ve said, Cassie is revealed to be the white pumpkin.

We learn she’s the white pumpkin because she’s the only one who didn’t have a portrait of herself with a red X over it, which is a sign someone had died. Meaning she was never intended to die at all.

Now because the writing team didn’t put any actual evidence of her being guilty before this, they slip in a Not At All Subtle clue that she’s the white pumpkin.

The white pumpkin’s hide out is Filled with calico cats. The same cats as Winslow (the cat that Cassie had kept with her). And while this is obviously supposed to tell us it’s her, it doesn’t really make much sense as a clue. Considering Winslow is just one cat. A bunch of cats that look like him is sort of out-of-nowhere. She’s had no real evidence against her other than the final connection, meanwhile all signs seem to point to Stampy.

This doesn’t necessarily mean anything but I do think it’s worth mentioning that there is one character who Does have a ton of animals like the ones we see in the white pumpkin’s room. And that’s Stampy. He has a ton of dogs that could have easily taken the place of the cats. But anyway.

This last second Right At The End clue seems to almost indicate that there was some change in writing half way through the process. Before Stampy is revealed to have the flint and steel (which is something that any character could have confessed to and the story would be pretty much the same), the story makes a lot more sense with the idea that Stampy was originally intended to be the white pumpkin. We can also gather that it seems they intended the white pumpkin to be a man, as the protagonists refer to the white pumpkin by he/him pronouns and that assumption is never addressed when they learn the white pumpkin is a girl.

Either that or the writers are just. bad. Which is also very likely.

That’s all the evidence I have. So let’s talk about how story-wise it would have been so much more interesting to make Stampy the white pumpkin.

Cassie is great. But she didn’t get a lot of actual screen time in game until her villain reveal because she really never had any evidence against her. Stampy however got a lot of screen time and was generally the fan favorite when it came to the youtubers that were in episode 6. He was one of the most beloved youtubers at the time and the writers took that into account.

Whenever Stampy was accused of something, he’d play the innocent card. He’d say things like “it’s me! Stampy! I’m everyone’s friend!” In an attempt to get sympathy. Instead of defending himself, he played at the emotions of the people around him. He was played as the sweet innocent character who wouldn’t do anything wrong. I think this would have made him a Great twist villain. It would have made a lot more sense for the end scene as well, as the other youtubers defend Cassie, saying she would “never do something like that”. Which never really made sense considering they all knew one of them must have done it, and none of them had any real connection to her. Defending Stampy or being shocked would have made a lot more sense regarding the relationships of the characters.

His villain reveal would have been so much more surprising as well, as Cassie’s tone quickly shifts to much more malicious once she admits to being the White Pumpkin. And while I do believe shes a very good actor, I do believe the scene would have had an extra punch if the lines were delivered by someone who was previously set up to be the trustworthy friend who wouldn’t hurt a fly

But it’s Cassie’s motive specifically that I think would have fit So Well if Stampy had taken her place.

Cassie wants the flint and steel so that she can return to her home dimension. She’a been stuck here for a very long time and is willing to do anything to get back home. Specifically saying that she needs to get out of this “stupid world”.

Now this will only really make sense for those who are familiar with StampyCat outside of mcsm. But I’ll do my best to explain.

Stampy, as a YouTuber, was known for his “lovely world”. The minecraft world that he loved and cared about a lot. If the plot line was that Stampy specifically was separated from his lovely world, it would have been a great motive that he was desperate to get back it it.

So uh. Yeah! I think that’s all I got. I’m sure me and Worm aren’t the only people who have come to this conclusion but I’m just here to put it all into writing. I’m not sure if this was all a last minute change or sloppy writing but either way I think it’s interesting!
