as i've made it increasingly clear with my therapist i am completely unaware of how to categorize my feelings. i can recognize them fairly adequately but most of the time it is as though they are not there. and sometimes i feel like i am only putting on a show of emotion because i am "supposed to". even when i am brought to tears by something that disturbs me (which is not very often and becoming even less so) i do not "feel" anything but the knots in my throat and the dampness of my face. often i think i should go have a look in the mirror instead.
#random thoughts#i used to cry as a child when my parents were fighting. my younger brother attempted to rationalize the situation.#and i simply languished in the hallways watching them. or the mirror. watching myself cry there.#and once i nearly called the police on them but that was the only time i ever did anything. i threatened my parents. both of them.#if you don't stop screaming at each other i'm going to call the police on you!!!!!!!#i don't think that responsibility should have been left to a child of my age. much less to my younger brother. so rational.#it is depressing to think about almost..

Terry and the batfam. Terry and the batfam. their dynamics have so much potential and i would LOVE to see it explored in any way at all
Terry and Dick: older brothers, trade stories of how they embarrass and get back at their younger brother(s), anger issue twins, "oh you were batman too??" "yeah, but its only bc one of my parents was murdered" "omg thats how i became robin no way"
Terry and Jason: the second most destructive duo, second only to terry and steph. not bc they fight or blow things up on patrol (thats tim and jasons thing) but bc anytime there a new gadget to try, terry will volunteer to use it, and jason will volunteer to 'spar' with terry to test it out. okay, maybe its bc they fight and blow stuff up, but its only ever in the batcave under supervision! "the tim from my dimension actually killed the joker" "no shit? did bruce stop me over there too?" "... about that--" sometimes they grab the others leather jacket by accident and both have given up on caring
Terry and Tim: terry "from the technological future" mcginnis and tim "designs loads of bat tech" drake talk shop, "my younger brother was made robin without my consent" club. tim listens to the works elcectro pop music ever and it just so happens to sound exactly like what they play at terrys favorite club. tim introduces him to (kon or bernard, take your pick) and they hit it off so well that they hang out without tim
Terry and Damian: ace the dog. terry invited damian to his AC island. both are bruce's bio kids and mamas boys. damian calling him "Terrance" and terry never recovering from it. terry knows damian from the future, kind of, and uses that knowledge to his advantage EVERY DAY
Terry and Duke: team "everyone thinks we're the normal one, they are wrong" they totally do movie marathons you cant tell me otherwise, their favorite thing to do is make bets abt the rest of the fam w cass. they never win against her. on any given day you can find them whispering about everyone else "duke, why the fuck were damian and tim staring each other down over breakfast" "hes mad dick said he can't poison him again" "what" "i know i thought they were over it by now"
Terry and Cass: cass sees him for the first time and sees that he rivals tim and dick in terms of being a mess and is determined to bond. terry hears about what she was trained for as a child and shrugs bc "i was supposed to be a second bruce, things change" cass will make him give her piggybacks when shes tired and terry has never dropped her
Terry and Stephanie: the most destructive duo. something happens to their braincells when they patrol together, buildings fall, bones break, civilians are crying, theres about ten minutes where everyone else thinks theyre both dead. they both are waiting at the cave for the others, terry is teching her how to make really shitty friendship bracelets (dana taught him, and stephanie is pretending she doesnt know how). they dont know why everyone else is so stressed "i texted you that we were fine, old man. steph and i just ran into black masks trafficing ring and took care of it-- why is dick crying?"
ALL of them have asked about the future before and the ONLY thing he ever reveals is out of context sayings and trends "yeah actually luigi and bowser have so much chemistry, well, i guess that movie isnt out yet huh" "???" (they think luigi and bowser are a cononical couple in the future and wonder where the world went so wrong) and (while interrogating smon) "watch out, you're not acting like the sigma you are, batman, try rizzing 'im up, then he'll talk."
him and bart meet (everyone tried to keep in from happening) and theyre from similar enough futures that when they talk, not a single person around them can follow it, they teach each other the different versions of different tik tok dances and terry goes back to the manor and teches them to steph, cass sees them do it once and has them memorized, duke thought it was funny, dick thought it was adorable (eventually they ALL know them, and it becomes an inside joke) tims prized possession is a video he got of damian doing the most dispassionate renegade the world has ever seen bc jon asked and he cant say no to him)
TL;DR:
terry mcginnis interacting w the other bat kids has a lot of potential for chaos and family bonding
#batman beyond#terry mcginnis#terry mcginnis batfam au#batfam#dick grayson#jason todd#tim drake#damian wayne#cassandra cain#stephanie brown#bruce wayne#superboy#kon kent#bart allen#let terry meet the others w/o angst please im begging you

Here are some sad Trolls headcanons/scenarios that won't leave my head (I try to put them in a timeline order)
Floyd left expecting to come back eventually. What it took to leave BergenTown made him scared of coming back for a long while.
Since Indie sub-genres are basically all also sub-genres of other genres (Indie Pop, Indie Folk, etc) maybe there's a tribe of Indie trolls out there that are just a bunch of trolls descended from the other main six tribes. (I sometimes imagine Floyd spent a lot of time there in the 20+ years he was gone)
Clay used to scratch his arms/wrists when he was mad as a kid. They had him wear wristbands to help, and he actually loved the feeling of wearing them.
Floyd could stop any fight between his brothers by crying. This how he ended up known as "the sensitive one"
One of the bros tried to convince Branch John Dory was actually his dad. He cried, because he didn't want his bros to not be his bros anymore. John Dory was mad about this prank because of how upset it made Branch, and because he never wanted to replace their parents.
This "date" made Spruce feel so uncomfortable, he threw up when he got home. He pretended he was just sick, and John Dory never stopped apologizing for convincing him to go out while he was "sick." (image from Branch's clueboard, cleaned up by @kittyball23)
In general, I think the ages of BroZone at the time of the break-up were Young Adult, Teen, Preteen, Child, and Baby.
Grandma Rosiepuff geniunely expected the other bros to come back after a bit of time. They'd fought before, and they always made up.
Branch went gray not just because Grandma sacrificed herself for him, not just because he lost the only family of his that stayed. But also because he failed her. He failed to keep her safe. And he failed his brothers who trusted him to look after their grandma.
Creek was always manipulative and toxic af. During the big escape, his shoved Branch out of the way. (no one ever believed Branch when he said it was on purpose.
Someone helped Branch get back up and keep going so he wasn't left behind. He never got a good look at who it was. He used to imagine finding them and becoming a sort of found family with them.
It was Clay. He saw Creek shove another kid out of the way (obviously on purpose). But he didn't recognize who the gray troll kid was. He just quickly got the kid up and moving so he could go back and look for Branch and Grandma (this is how he ended up left behind with Viva and the Putt-Putt trolls).
People tried to look out for Branch while he was still a kid. But he liked to keep his distance, so they all did, too. They weren't ever able to help him get his color back, anyway. (Poppy was the only one who never gave up trying to help him)
Everyone kind of agreed to stop bringing up the trolls left behind around King Peppy (and in extension Poppy) because it's cause him to completely shut down. It looked like he might go gray, too.
Clay developed some self-destructive habits after arriving at the golf course. He thought he failed to save his baby brother. He was very good at keeping it hidden. Eventually he improved through sheer stubbornness. He keeps the old wristbands as a comfort, and to cover scars. (Literally no one but him knows)
John Dory interacted with a few other survivalists on the Neverglade Trail. Maybe he had an opportunity to "settle down" with one of them. But the guilt of leaving his brothers behind started eating him up, so he ran. (who knows, maybe he has a kid he doesn't know about)
When John Dory tried coming home, it was a few years after the escape from the Troll Tree. He saw it empty and thought it meant the Bergens had finally eaten every last troll. Maybe some of his brothers escaped. But the way he saw it, the younger the brother, the more likely they didn't make it. John Dory was convinced his baby brother was dead.
John Dory didn't have very much memorabilia when he first left. When he returned to the Troll Tree empty, he took as much stuff as he could carry without being scared of getting caught.
Bruce really wanted to invite his younger brothers to his wedding, but he didn't have a way to contact them. John Dory was the only one he had any way of reaching.
That postcard to John Dory was sent because he was desperate to reach out to ONE of his brothers, but he didn't want to have that reconciliation or fight at his wedding. So it's a mostly blank postcard. (John Dory cried, because it was confirmation one of his brothers was alive.)
Bruce named his daughter Rosie, after Grandma Rosiepuff. (he thought of naming some of his sons after his presumed dead younger brothers, but that felt wrong when he changed his own name to distance himself from them and the band)
Poppy might have briefly had a bit of a crush on Creek. This makes the betrayal all the more devastating.
At some point between the events of the first movie and Floyd getting captured, he crossed paths with Creek. They briefly had a fling, but eventually, Creek's toxicity became too much, and Floyd went left for someplace new. (And Creek might have been arrested in the Indie Mountains.)
None of the other troll tribes knew the Pop Trolls were annually being eaten alive for so many years. Some find their ability to keep so cheery and positive after all that to be actually impressive.
Peppy is doing therapy with Mr. Dinkles because the events of World Tour made him realize he doesn't have a good way of coping with things. (Running, hiding, and keeping secrets aren't actually good in the long run.)
Crimp experienced some major abuse from Velvet and Veneer. Yet she never tried leaving the job as their assistant because it was the only job she could get.
John Dory, Bruce, and Clay never expected to see Branch grown up. They didn't know how to react to/treat him like a grown up when they first saw him again.
Floyd genuinely thought he'd die in that bottle, even if the bros managed to hit the perfect family harmony. At that point, he was so drained, his hair was almost entirely white, and he couldn't even stand himself up. But the idea that the last thing he'd ever see would be his brothers singing and dancing together like old times made him happy.
The perfect family harmony undid most of the physical damage Floyd experienced. But he still feels a sort of phantom pains sometimes. His legs will feel numb and tingly. Stretching helps.
Velvet tried to completely throw her brother under the bus after they got arrested. She tried to blame him for everything, tried to claim she was forced to go along with it. Veneer's confession, Crimp's testimony, and just the way she slowly took more and more of the spotlight away from her brother kept her from getting her way. Veneer even got a lighter sentence than she did.

Michael Afton Headcanons (General + Romantic)
Warning: Childhood abuse
Mrs Afton will be called Clara and Crying Child will be called Evan.
General
Life in the Afton family was never perfect. William often neglected his family in favor of working on his animatronics and Clara was always fighting with him because of it. This was the norm for Michael and his siblings, unfortunately, so they were used to it. (Not like watching their parents fight and being neglected didn't hurt any less, but...)
Michael was never as obedient as his younger siblings, even when he was a little kid. It was easy to tell that neither of his parents appreciated that very much and favored the others over him. At least Clara made attempts to hide it. With William, it was ridiculously obvious that he didn't feel unconditional love towards his kids, and that he only cared for them when they followed all his directions. So Michael got the worst treatment in terms of neglect.
Eventually, the fighting got to be too much for Clara. She divorced William and left the kids with him, moving far away so she wouldn't be associated as an Afton anymore. This decision had a horrible effect on each of the Afton kids- Elizabeth became unhealthily attached to her father, Evan lost his only source of comfort (that wasn't a stuffed animal) and it made Michael's approaching teenage angst worse. Meanwhile William's only thought was "Hmm maybe I can design my new balleria animatronic after my ex-wife now... That way I can have another excuse not to take care of my kids 😻"
Being left unsupervised was the worst thing that could've happened to Michael. It gave him a sort of power he shouldn't have had, being that he was frustrated at his entire family and too immature to know how to deal with anger correctly. He vented his anger by becoming a destructive bully.
At first he just bullied Evan because he was an easy target. Not Elizabeth though, she... Mysteriously disappeared before he could do anything too bad to her. But her disappearence only left Michael more pissed off at the world. He started bullying kids at school with his group of friends. They quickly became the tormentors of the neighborhood.
Teenage Michael was a total shitbag, really. He hurt others because it made him feel powerful in a situation he was powerless in. Fun Fact: William hurts others to feel powerful too. Like father, like son.
However, Michael's tormenting wasn't 100% just for a power trip. It was partly to get attention from his father too. He got into all kinds of trouble looking for attention. He got into fights at school, purposely flunked all his classes, made his abuse against Evan abundantly clear, etc. Nothing worked. So then he decided to involve one of his father's own creations in his next scheme... And that one definitely worked. But not in the way he wanted it to.
So Evan was dead. William wasn't pleased, to say the least. It wasn't the fact that his son was dead that got him, it was the fact that Fredbear's had to be shut down. His first passion project was ruined by his own son.
William started giving Michael attention, but not the kind that he needed. He began taking his anger out on him. Screaming, hitting, locking him in his room for hours on end... The list went on. Now Michael knew what it felt like to be in Evan's spot.
But unlike William, Michael felt geniune sorrow from his brother's death. He never wanted him dead, he just went too far. If the guilt of that wasn't enough, nobody was understanding of him either. His "friends" ditched him and the entire town shunned him. Nobody wanted to be around him anymore. Not many people did to begin with, but now everybody acted like he was an apathetic murderer. (Everybody acted like he was his father...)
He was forced to spend the rest of childhood in isolation. When he wasn't isolated, he was with his father, only piling the mental and physical scars on top of each other. He transitioned from bitter and angry to terrified and ridden with guilt.
He learned his lesson about being an asshole, but he's been beat down so many times that he's afraid to get back up. He just took all the negativity that was thrown at him. He believed that he fully deserved it and that he didn't deserve a happy life. (Because he knew his father sure didn't...)
His only source of comfort at this time was watching TV. The TV raised him when his parents didn't, so... Basically always. One of the reasons he kept going was so he could catch the new Immortal and The Restless episodes.
Okay this is really stupid and out of place but I like to think this is what it looked like when Michael first discovered Immortal and The Restless:
youtube
Once Michael finally became an adult, he was ready to run away from it all. He knew that he didn't deserve to be happy, that he was a monster just as horrible as his father was, but he couldn't take it anymore. He wasn't strong enough.
So he took a page out of his mother's book and moved away. He didn't have enough money to move too far away, sadly, but he got far enough that nobody in town could recognize him. That's exactly what he was searching for. He desired a chance to start anew.
He didn't want to be Michael Afton anymore. Michael Afton was a murderer, a tormenter, a coward. He wanted to be a better person now, but he was convinced Michael Afton could never be better. Leading him to change his identity once he finished moving.
Michael Afton was dead. He was Mike Schmidt now, and Mike Schmidt was an incredible man. He was friends with all his neighbors, he was hard working, he never caused a bit of trouble. And he always smiled. Never a creepy and unnerving smile, but a warm and pleasant one.
This change did help him a bit. He was being treated like a person again instead of a monster, so that was appreciated. But it did a lot of harm too. He was pushing down all of his feelings and ignoring his problems. They were Michael Afton's problems, not Mike Schmidt's, after all. He was masking his true self and hiding it all with a grin. (He's like his father no matter what he does...)
However, this new life didn't last long. Everything stopped when he got a phone call from William. It was a sickeningly polite request, asking him to go down to Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental, only for a simple week long shift.
Naturally, Michael was furious. He didn't want to accept a single request from that asshole, especially not now! He was still reinventing himself! He was ready to decline until William brought up the true reason why he wanted Mike down there- To free his little sister.
Mike was in awe. This was a chance to fix his past mistakes. Not all of them, of course, but he could make up for at least one part of the past. Though he was reluctant to have anything left to do with those bastardly animatronics, he felt like he had to do this. He gathered his courage and accepted, not knowing what was ahead of him.
The universe must have decided that he hadn't paid enough for his mistakes, because he ended up literally dying and then having his corpse used as a disguise for murderous animatronics. Not fun. Even when Ennard finally left, he just felt... Empty. Both physically and mentally. He wasn't even sad about it. He was accepting.
This was a natural punishment for trying to run away from his past, he assumed. Mike always thinks he deserves the bad things that happen to him. But, he also realized... When did his father ever get punished for something?
It just wasn't fair. William got away with everything while Mike was the one who had to pay for it. He did some terrible shit when he was younger, he knows, but wasn't this enough? When was William going to pay for slaughtering children for his selfish experiments and power trip?
In that moment, he knew what he needed to do. He had to kill his father and get revenge. He needed to free the rest of the souls like he did with his sister. That way, he could finally be at peace.
From then on, Mike was the best version of himself. He still made an effort to keep up his new identity, but he wasn't trying to run away anymore. He was scared and he was battling mental health issues everyday, but he was determined now. And nobody could stop him.
Romantic
Let's say you fell in love after he moved and changed his name, so you didn't know about his past. He wouldn't tell you the truth for the longest time. Mike sees you in an extremely high light. You've got so many good qualities about you, and he's... Just some cowardly asshole who lives a lie. But you don't know that. You think he's great too. And fuck, he loves that, he wants it to stay that way so badly. He really does want to be with you.
So he stays as Mike Schmidt. He wouldn't mention a word about Michael Afton, his family, or anything to do with Freddy Fazbear's. Forget Fredbear's. He refuses to be a part of that. Most of the time he just dances around the subject when it's brought up, but he's willing to flat out lie if he has to. He doesn't understand that having a relationship built on lies isn't the best idea.
Besides that stuff about lying to you, I don't think he'd be too bad of a partner. He loves you so much and wants the best for you. He'd work hard so you could have everything you need/want. But since he works so much, it's hard to find time to spend together. Especially whenever he's working the night shift.
When you do find time, you probably won't be going out on dates. He's paranoid and avoids going out when he can. So you'll likely be at home, whether you're resting in bed or watching Immortal and The Restless together.
While he was working at Circus's Baby, he always made it a point to call you after 6AM and let you know he was on his way home. You didn't know that, truthfully, it was just his way of letting you know he was still alive.
He's also a protective boyfriend. Though he doesn't like going out, he would force himself to get past his fear and go out with you when you have to leave. He'll accompany you on trips to the grocery store or other errands. He makes sure to write down your work phone number somewhere safe, so he can call you during your breaks and make sure you're okay.
And in a way, him lying about his past is a way of protecting you, too. You could get hurt if you get involved. So he buries all the pain and wears a smile, no matter how much it hurts. When he has sudden flashbacks to his father's abuse or the death of his brother, his grin only falters for a second. He considers this his way of being strong.
Mike can't hide it forever, though. He'll be forced to confess after he gets scooped, because... Well, imagine trying to hide purple skin from somebody you see every day. You'll have to talk some sense into him though- He needs to be convinced that he can't handle everything on his own and that this isn't some punishment for his sins. So weirdly enough, him getting scooped wasn't entirely bad? Because it made your relationship stronger and he's better off, now that he has a goal and somebody to support him along the way.
But that didn't mean everything was sunshine and rainbows now. For one thing, his appearance is pretty fucked up, and not in the hot way. It's just another thing to add to the list of insecurites. He worries that you'll leave him for somebody better. He avoids physical affection as well, because he's sure you wouldn't want to touch him.
You can help by giving him lots of reassurance, though. He likes being called handsome even if he doesn't believe it, and it feels good knowing you're always there for him.
This might be an unpopular headcanon, but I honestly think Michael would want to get married. Probably not when he was younger and the wounds from his trauma were fresh, but once he's older and more healed. Just because his parents' marriage didn't turn out well doesn't mean that yours won't. There probably won't be an official ceremony, there might not even be any official documents saying you got married, but he would buy a pair of rings so you could say you were anyway. It's still marriage to him.
No kids though. He's still intensely afraid of having one of his own to take care of. The next best thing is Helpy 💀 But speaking of Helpy, the only Fazbear restaurant he'll let you go to is the one from Pizzeria Simulator. It's the only place he has any control over things, so he wouldn't be on the verge of having a panic attack everytime you got near an animatronic... But maybe you still don't need to be around those high risk ones...
Oh, and don't worry, he won't stick around in the fire like he did at the end of the game. I believe the only reason he did that was because he didn't have anything else. This family drama was his whole life, his whole purpose. So he thought it was only right to pass on with everybody else then.
But with you here now, he can't just leave you like that. Not as a single parent caring for Helpy! So you three can finally live that happily ever after without having to worry about any murderous animatronics or people in bunny suits again.
Haha, yeah... Definitely...

The Second Quarrel
🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕
After Jaehaerys proclaims his son will be heir over his granddaughter, Alysanne and he have their second monumental quarrel. Separating YN from her dear friend once again.
🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕
Masterlist
YN skipped around the red keep, having finished her lessons with the septa earlier she was excited to find Daemon or watch him as he practiced his lessons. She wished Gael could come watch him with her, but she was slower with her studies so she had to stay behind. On the way to the training yard, YN had the brilliant idea to visit her father. Deciding that this was a better course of action, YN detoured and hopped her way to her father’s council. Knowing that her mother would be there most likely made her go a little faster.
As soon as she was within earshot, YN slowed down. Having heard raised voices and seen the guards waver she questioned herself. The eight year old recognized her parents voices and started to make her way toward the room cautiously only to be stopped by the guards who showed a face of concern.
“Best not to interrupt, little princess.” One of the guards kindly said. Though both guards felt bad when YN looked at them with sadness. “Perhaps you can sit outside and wait for the queen?”
“No. I’ll see mama and daddy later.” YN said sadly. Before she went she placed her ear against the door to listen for a moment.
“... If your grace truly believes women lack the wit to rule, plainly you have no further need of me.” YN heard her mother’s angry voice.
Before anyone could leave, YN turned away and started to find the training yard. She stopped when she heard a slamming door and saw her mother storming her way towards her. The angry look on her mothers face made her nervous and made her want to forget about seeing Daemon.
“Mama…” YN tried to speak.
“YN. Get ready. We’re leaving for Dragonstone.” Alysanne told her child as she grabbed YN’s tiny hand in hers. “I’ll tell your septa to pack your things.”
“I wanted to say hello to Daemon…” YN whispered and teared up.
Alysanne sighed at this and ran her fingers through her daughter's silver hair. “Alright. Say your goodbyes to Daemon. Then come to your rooms immediately afterwards. Do not cry my love. I am not angry with you.”
YN wiped her eyes and continued her journey to the training yard. She knew Daemon would be there, since he took his training seriously. If he wasn’t learning the history of their house and of Valyria. YN thought he was very gifted and talented. He was one of her best friends after all. After Gael of course. So she tried to think of all the things she wanted to say to him, everything that was going through her mind. She hadn’t seen Daemon since her brother’s funeral. Her mother and father still wanted to keep them apart. YN never understood why, she loved spending time with Daemon. And assumed one day that he would be married to her older sister Gael as they were close in age and in the tradition of their house.
Eventually, after dragging her feet, YN found her way to the training yard. She smiled at the sight of her other brother Baelon with Daemon and Viserys. Baelon stopped his swordplay with his younger son to smile at his sister. Daemon followed his father’s gaze and instantly beamed when he saw his favorite person.
“Ah YN. Has mother released you to us?” Baelon asked and knelt to his sister, accepting her kiss on his cheek.
“I need to speak to Daemon.” YN stated and walked toward Daemon after Baelon nodded to her.
“I’ve missed you since that day of the funeral. It is terrible that we were reunited under such a sad moment.” Daemon tried to charm. But as usual it went over YN’s head.
“I have so much to say but I don’t know how to say it.” YN said looking down at her hands.
“You can say everything to me.” Daemon reassured. Then was taken aback by YN reaching forth and hugging him tightly.
“Mama and papa got in another fight. And now I’m to go away to Dragonstone.” YN whimpered and placed her face on his shoulder.
“So you'll be gone. Again?”
“I hate being away. But I’m pulled like a toy between mama and papa. I only have Gael.” YN cried.
“You have me.” Daemon pulled back and placed his hands on her upper arms looking at her sad face. “We’ll write. We’ll keep in touch. They can’t keep us apart from each other.”
“You’re one of my best friends. Do you promise to write me? Even if I’m not that smart or interesting?” YN asked.
“I’ll keep you in check of everything that happens here. You can’t get rid of me.” Daemon tried to kiss her on the cheek, but YN unknowingly pulled away and smiled at him. Before he could say anything else, YN walked away from him not paying attention to his intense gaze on her back.
After saying goodbye to Viserys and Baelon, YN did as her mother said and made her way to her room. She sighed at the sight of her septa packing her clothes away in cases and did as the septa said. Staying out of the way and grabbing her toy carved clay turtle. YN asked where her mother was, but got her answer when she heard shouting from another room. Slinking away to the other room and regretting it instantly when she saw her beloved parents fighting once again.
“YOU’LL NOT TAKE MY DAUGHTER FROM ME!” Jaehaerys shouted.
“Why shouldn’t I?! You place no value in women! No value in your daughters!” Alysanne bit back.
“YN is my youngest child! My most precious girl! I’ll not allow you to take her!” Her father yelled.
“So you can force her to marry?! So you can hold her as less than a man?! I know your heart and you care nothing for our girls! You’ve not even asked about Gael!”
Jaehaerys sighed angrily. “I have my reasons for what I do Alys!”
“So do I! And YN is coming with me! I dare you to try and take her!”
“Fine! Take her! Separate her from her father and see how quickly she begins to hate you!”
“You’ll never turn my daughter against me!”
The argument ended with another slammed door. YN silently used the other door to leave. Silently sitting on her bed in her and Gael’s room. Bowing her head down and crying as quietly as she could. She didn’t want to leave. She hated her parents fighting, especially over her. Blaming herself for the fight and not being brave enough to stop it. She hated leaving Daemon, hated being put above her playmate Gael.
Gael noticed her favorite sister crying on the bed. Making her way over and sitting next to her. She wrapped her arms around her younger sister and tried comforting her. Gael was not as fast or as witty as others but she could always be there for her sister. The two understood each other better than anyone.
Humming a song, Gael calmed her sister down. Then hugged her tight.

“I just don’t think the best way to tell her is by throwing her surprise party like she’s finding out the gender of her unborn child.” You sighed, going back to suck on the straw of your empty milkshake.
Jungkook swapped his Oreo milkshake for your empty kinder bueno one. He’s noticed when you’re super stressed or anxious you generally snack away on sugar mindlessly. Not that it’s a bad thing or something, he just finds it endearing.
“Maybe we can just not tell her…” you suggest, gulping down the Oreo milkshake like it’s your mission.
“So she can later bury us alive when she finds out?” He cringes.
Yeji would never. She’s too kind hearted to ever hurt anybody in any type of way and if her emotions do take a toll on her, she’s never the one to not apologise about it if she was in the wrong. Yeji is too smart. Too compassionate and sincere. It’d be silly to think she’d ever dehumanise you for dating her brother.
“Do you think she’ll be disgusted with me for dating her stinky brother?”
“How am I ‘stinky’” he pouts.
“Babe, you leave all your clothes everywhere, whether they’re fresh or not. I keep finding your socks all over my apartment, not to mention you like to just change outfits within seconds. Like I iron your decided outfit and make sure it looks perfect and then you’re all like ‘mmm no, the whites too muted” you rolled your eyes groaning.
His mouth opened in surprise. Doe eyes looking scandalised, “that’s only because you also change your outfit ideas last second! ‘Oh the glitter reflects different in this dress than on my shoes.”
It wasn’t exactly what you had in mind. The fight between Jungkook and Yeji was starting to escalate and you didn’t exactly know how to stop it or help. So you stood in the corner, balling up and trying your hardest not to crumble because you knew. You knew now more than ever. If she doesn’t agree to this, if she finds it weird or odd or whatever. There’s no way you can keep this going. Even if you love him more than yourself. Yeji is your best friend and even if technically you don’t need her blessing to date Jungkook, it’s morally wrong. You’ve sworn to her since childhood that you’d never date her brother.
“Why am I not allowed to be with someone that makes me happy!” Jungkook yelled.
“Because,” she would yell back an octave higher and suddenly it felt like you were a small kid and your parents were arguing all over again “because she is my person. She’s the one I befriended before you. Because she’s the only thing I have aside from you. I can’t let this happen. If you break up and I have to choose sides it’ll be the end for me. I won’t have you, I won’t have her. I won’t have anyone. Jungkook please,” she practically sobbed
“I’ve never said this before because I always hated it, but kook. Please. I have given you everything I had through out our life. I protected you. I loved you. I was there for you when our parents weren’t there for us. I gave you a piece of myself day by day, night by night because you are the only thing I had in life because I love you. I’m younger and I have surrounded my life around you. You were my hero, not dad, not mom, you. You were the man I loved first, ever. You were the man I wrote about in class. The man I imagined had a cape when I was growing up and was my hero,” you stood in the corner, crying silently, head down not able to even glance at yeji.
“Jungkook please.”
It was silent. All the tension, all the life sucking energy was hung in the hair as if it was a hair strand away from breaking into absolute chaos. You’ve realised then, that both of them stared at you. Jungkook had some sort of hope in his eyes, but he looked like he was two seconds away from throwing up too. Yeji was a sobbing mess. And it finally sank in. Nothing would ever go back to anything it ever was before. Ever. Not with yeji, not with Jungkook.
You licked your drying lips and bit onto the lower one, fiddling with the keys in your hands, looking at your feet before you realised it was hopelessly. You’d end up hurting either one of them in the end. The only thing you could do was remove yourself completely. Away from yeji and away from Jungkook. They’re more likely to forgive each other and yeji would definitely find friends. It was a losing fight for you any choice you made and if you knew you could at least give them a shot to fix their relationship, you’d hurt yourself just to keep both of them happy. They’d mend their hurt.
From the beginning this was destined for failure. From the petty fight with Jungkook to the sex to finally falling in love with him. It was all just building up to this. The fights that put a strain on your friendship with yeji, the sneaking around, the dishonesty. There was no going back at this point. You couldn’t fix it anymore. You were being selfish the minute you reciprocated the kiss with Jungkook that very night. It was all just going to go down the drain and you knew it was. That’s the thing. Yet you did because you couldn’t help how amazing it felt. To love Jungkook, to have him with you. Exactly, where it brings you now.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, “I can’t do this.”
You left the apartment in a rush, wiping your tears and hoping this pain would subside. Hoping you’d ever forgive yourself. The way both their faces dropped, the hurt and despair in Jungkooks eyes. Yejis eyes widening and jaw dropping as if someone just stabbed her in the guts. It had you so nausea you were seconds away from throwing up. The second the elevator opened you dashed outside, not so gracefully throwing up beside the door. Not that there’s any graceful way of throwing up.
Walking through the rain had all the memories rushing through you. From the first fight, where you couldn’t even look Jungkook in the eye, to the sex, to the moment you finally felt the love for him, to the fight when you were away to now. It was painful. This walk happened more than you’d ever liked for it to happen. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to choose. You just couldn’t. Because you loved Yeji, from growing up with her and matching outfits to school with little pigtails and matching clips, to starting high school together and walking in with your hands clasped together like two toddlers. To entering college. From heart breaks to success.
But you also loved Jungkook. He was always in the background of whatever you and Yeji did, he was always there to support and lift you when you fell down. He’s always loved you in no way any other man could ever. You knew that. Even when you didn’t pay attention to him. Even when you’d tease and ignore him. He always loved you. He was always there to protect you. It was breaking your heart bit by bit. You knew he was the man you saw a future with. The man you saw buying your first house with and having his kids. He was your universe. Your future. But you couldn’t do this to Yeji.
What is the point of being with him if you’d put a strain between yourself and yeji? If you took away his sister from him. She swore she’d never, ever speak to him again if you did continue dating each other and that was enough to prove to you that you never wanted to hurt any of them the way you knew it would if you decided in the moment that you chose Jungkook. Because even if you fought for both of them, it would have never been the same. At least now, you could still remain at least friendly with both of them without hurting them any further, or more painfully.
You didn’t want to be cruel. And maybe you were by the way you left. But you wouldn’t ever forgive yourself if you sabotaged their relationship for yours. So you decided to screw yourself up.
Sometimes, that just the way life is.
You finally agreed to have coffee with Jungkook. Just a simple coffee and nothing more. Even though it’s been two months, the tension is still high with Yeji. She hasn’t spoken much to Jungkook aside from the odd little conversation. Jungkook would come over plenty of times, to check up on her, and each time he’d come over, she’d be curled up on the couch, with the same dull expression in her face.
“you were the one who screwed this up Jungkook. The second you decided to fuck my best friend.” She’d always remind him.
It was the bitter truth, though. Because he is the reason why Yeji doesn’t smile as often anymore, or isn’t her bubbly self anymore. She always alone, aside from when Jungkook comes to her place and stays with her for a few nights, she has no one else. She always had you and that was enough for her. He’s screwed it up though. Big time. He fell in love with someone who was meant to be off limits. Someone his sister loved even more.
You sit across him with an odd expression. He has always been able to at least guess what you were thinking, today however, he can’t. Your eyes looked stoic. Empty. You showed no form of emotion on your face. You just sat with your legs crossed over the other and your hands mimicked your legs, loosely hanging of the edges. You were dressed smart, white dress pants and a white jacket with gold little buttons, a white button up underneath and white pumps. You were practically like a statue in front of him, a gorgeous one though.
Even in the state that you were, pale, dark circles under your eyes and void of any kind of emotion, you still managed to be the most beautiful woman in the room.
He swallow rather uncomfortably, his Adam’s apple bopping with the action. He looked nervous, his leg kept bouncing and his eyes were were everywhere but you. He’d look at you for a split second and then focus his gaze elsewhere. It wasn’t fun watching struggle like this.
He didn’t look bad. His skin was tanned and glowing, he must of gotten a haircut recently, perhaps an undercut? He was dressed like the usual him, baggy clothes. Comfortable. He still managed to look mesmerising and you were kicking yourself for even thinking like that, for letting your heart skip a beat any time you’d catch his gaze. For letting your skin form goosebumps every time you’d get a whiff of his scent reminding you of where you felt the safest. Most of all hating yourself because you came here to ask about Yeji. Not simp over the man that never leaves your head. The one singular man that has your heart breaking every day even more.
It was sick. What love can do to someone. It can test every single nerve in one’s body, it can fuck with your brain and make you into a robot rather than a human. It was nauseating what love can do to a human body. Sure it feels nice in the moment, but once that breaking point comes, your body crashes. It hates the pain, despises the feeling of your chest crushing and squeezing your heart like it was a poor man who owed money to the mafia. Like it was the victim of the school bullies, kicked and beaten for what? For a few moments of happiness?
Yet if you had the option to click a magic button and let yourself relive the happy moments, you would. You’d abuse it. Because the euphoric feeling was addicting. It felt better than sex, it felt better than a cup of hot chocolate during a winter storm, better than any sort of reward. It was essentially like crack. It’d slowly take every ounce of the best of you, and turn everything you once adored into pain.
“How are you?” His voice was small, like a scared child testing the waters.
You blinked, your expressionless face never broke character.
“I’m okay,” you replied in a more confident voice, “how are you?”
Jungkook looked down at the table, picking at the skin around his nails. His hand brushed around the nape of his neck, awkwardly.
“I’m,” his tongue poked his cheek, “I’m trying my best.”
“How’s yej-“
“I’m worried about yeji”
Your eyebrows shot up. Everything around you seemed to freeze in place and finally, the heart you have been protecting so much from breaking any further shattered all over again. You kept calm despite the fact that tears sprung to your eyes almost immediately. It was single handedly the worst thing he could have told you. It was something you thought you prepared yourself for, but nothing can ever prepare you for the pain of your loved ones suffering.
“She doesn’t have anyone other than me. Even then she doesn’t talk to me aside asking me what I’d like to eat or drink. She has no friends. She hasn’t smiled ever since that day, she’s lost a lot of weight too. I don’t know.. I don’t know how to help her Y/N.” His voice began breaking and your heart was ready to make its way out your throat and runaway on tiny little legs screaming for a break.
“Please help her.”
You closed your eyes, looking away from him.
“Okay.”
The look in her eyes had you terrified. She looked as if she was just one step away from breaking or perhaps shooting you. She stood across the room from you with the angriest and sharpest look you have ever seen on her. She was like a lioness ready to pounce to protect her cubs and it scared you to death.
More than anything, she looked so fragile. So poorly. As if she was sick and it was making you anxious. Even weeks before the fight, she started looking sickly. She was a lot more tired than before, and coughing almost all the time. It made you wonder, if maybe she was, sick?
“Yeji?” You asked gently, “can I talk to you please?”
There was a beat of silence, “now? After you left me when I need you most? Now?” She yelled.
You bit onto your inner cheek, hanging your head in shame, “I still care about you. I’m so sorry. I love you so much and I regret ever leaving you. But I need you to talk to me.”
She began crying and it had you rushing to her, practically breaking your ankles as your grabbed her delicate body to yours, hugging her as tightly as you could. As if you could just put her in your heart and keep her forever safe. She gripped onto your jacket, sobbing into your shoulder as you ran your hand through her head. Hugging her closer to your body.
Her entire body was shaking as you held her, your heart was aching as you sat on the couch. Jungkook stood at the kitchen island, biting his lips as he watched the two of you. Hating himself for doing all this to both of you because he was so selfish about you.
“Don’t freak out please,” she began, licking her chapped lips, “I have cancer,”
Jungkook stilled, his body raised in goosebumps everything he’s ever loved, everything he’s ever protected her from, all of the worrying about her, the one thing no one can protect another from, happened. And it was like someone pulled the rug beneath his legs. He could barely breathe.
“I- I had cancer?,” she questioned, “I, um, I had surgery, a small one, to remove the tumour, it was the mole on my back, they removed it successfully. I just need a few rounds of chemo to make sure the cells are all gone and have my bloods done every couple weeks to check my marks.”
“Yeji…” your bottom lip trembled, “why didn’t you tell me before?.”
She sighed, sniffling, picking at the pillow between both of you, “because,” she shrugged, “you weren’t here much. You were away for Jungkook’s fight, and the surgery date was set on the day. I thought I could tell you when you’d come back. But then all that happened.”
“That doesn’t matter, Yeji. You are the most important to me. I would’ve dropped everything for you.”
“That’s exactly why,” she smiled sadly, “I didn’t want to stop anyone’s life for me. After all I’m fine. It wasn’t anything serious.”
You held her hand, kissing it as you leaned her into your chest. Holding her, “you’re so strong yeji. You’re the strongest woman I know.”
Jungkook sat on the other side of his sister, leaning onto her and holding her just as tightly as you held her, “I’m so sorry.”
“Guys I’m okay I promise.”
No matter what she’d tell you. You’d forever blame yourself for leaving her lonely during all this. The fact she had to be alone during the hardest days of her life was unfair. You were truly a bad friend and you wish you could go back and look at the signs. They were all there. Yet you didn’t even pay enough attention to realise it.
“I still can’t believe you touched my brother.” She fake gagged, making you chuckle.
“He’s not all that anyway.”

Rebellious Secrets
Request prompt:
Garrick and Reader are in a long-term relationship and have a fight about something and when she wants to reconcile, she overhears him say something that drives them further apart? Just some angsty, angsty stuff? I'll leave it up to you if it’s a happy end ;)
Synopsis: You are Xaden Riorson’s younger sister. You had survived your parents' rebellion with Xaden and Garrick and your cousin Bodhi by your side. With the years leading up after the rebellion and to when you’d each have to start at Basgiath War College. You and Garrick had become more than the close friends you were. You had been fostered away from your brother and Liam and in the same foster home as Garrick. You both were the only rebel child in the foster household you were put in. Garrick took it under his responsibility to care for you and protect you with being placed so far away from everyone else; you and Garrick had quickly fallen in love with each other. Foster siblings or not you two didn’t care as you had feelings for each other before these dreaded times. You and Garrick had cherished every moment together from when you were You and Garrick also had not cared that your foster parents kept reminding you that you were only 15 and Garrick was 17. You both spent every day basking in each other’s young love, finally out of the view of your older brother to do as you two had wished as soon as you were old enough to have an inappropriate thought about Garrick cloud your mind. You both had spent every waking moment and sleeping moment with each other after being placed in the foster home until the dreaded day had come for Garrick and Xaden to start at Basgiath.
Word Count: 6266. I got a little carried away here! But it is split into sections by a timeline frommate.
Trigger Warnings: suggestive NSFW but not full scenes, panic attacks, nightmares, distrust, tissues on standby, prolonged months of not talking to S.O, and family members. Mentions of death. I think that's it!

Y /N POV
You stirred waking in your new bedroom in Lewellen. Yesterday was supposed to be your 15th birthday but instead it had turned into a living hell. You moved your arms to the other side of the bed where Garrick Tavis had fallen asleep holding you in his arms after the turmoil of events that occurred yesterday. You sighed at the coldness of the mattress that was left behind and you let the events of yesterday race in mind. You, your older brother Xaden, your cousin Bodhi Durran as well as Garrick and all the other children of the rebellion were forced to watch your parents be executed as their attempts at a rebellion that was led by your father failed. You had cried in Garrick’s arms as you watched your parents die. You had cried in his arms as your brother got whipped 107 times representing the children of the traitors of Navarre as a plea to save our lives. You were still crying when each one of you got separated into foster homes. Garrick and yourself were found to be in a foster home in Lewellen, which was far enough away from Trivanne which was far enough away from your brother and Liam to make visits almost nearly impossible. “Hey, you're awake.” Garrick had smiled softly as he came back with a tray and a few pastries. “How are you feeling, little one?” He asked softly to get back in bed with you as you laid his head on his shoulder. “Tired, upset, angry and maybe slightly confused.”
Garrick hummed at your reply “I get it. I feel the same. I’m sorry that was a pretty shitty birthday.” “One I’d rather forget. Do you know if we are near any of the others?” “I overheard our foster parents talking and I don’t think so, at least not many of the older ones of us, maybe some of the younger children.” You cupped his cheek softly; “At least we have each other, and we can finally explore this; even if you are now my foster brother.” Garrick took your small hand into his much larger one and chuckled softly at the mention of you two now being foster siblings; “How about we start by actually celebrating your 15th birthday. Maybe a walk to take in our new surroundings and then maybe find a nice private spot to call our own.” “Gare Bear, that sounds amazing.” You said softly and took a bite of the raspberry scone he had brought in. “I wonder what our foster parents are going to think of getting the only rebellion teens in a relationship.” You had smirked and ran your fingers through his hair fixing a few unruly curls. Garrick had chuckled again and placed a soft kiss on your forehead. “If they have a problem with it, I’ll do everything I need to in order to protect you Y/N.” Which you had already known he already felt an overdrive of urgency to do as you were Fen Riorson’s youngest, who was the leader of the Tyrrish rebellion.

Y /N POV
You were finally able to see your brother for the first time after the apostasy.
“You ready little one?” Garrick had asked as you had finished getting dressed. “I should be the one asking you Gary.” You teased and ran your hands along his arms and earned a low groan from his mouth. “You know how I feel about that one nickname Y/N.” He smirked. “I know my lover, but you finally get to tell my brother about us and the fact we have been dating for 8 months.” You teased rubbing your nose together. Garrick had groaned as there was a soft knock at your door. “Come in.” You had softly expected your foster parents as your brother and Liam were meant to arrive until later. “Xad!” You exclaimed excitedly and jumped into his arms. Your brother chuckled softly; “I missed you too, Y/N. I assume Gare has been taking good care of you?” “More than you want to know.” You smirked as your brother put you down to hug his best friend as you hugged the oldest Mairi son. It had been too long since you and Garrick had seen any of the others. “Something you need to tell me, Garrick.” Your brother said mockingly. Garrick smirked, wrapping his arm around your waist. “Ok, that’s enough said already.” Xaden groaned and added; “So you two become foster siblings and decide to hook up?” Xaden smirked. “Oh we had feelings well before that.” You teased running your hands through your brother's hair. “I think we have an 18th birthday that has passed that we need to celebrate.” You had stated quickly changing the topic. And with that is what the four of you had down for the next few days. You each had spent the nights out under the stars when your brother and Liam were here and you were glad you did because little did you know that would be the last time you saw your brother until you were due to cross the parapet yourself in 633 Au.
*July 631 A.U.*
Y/N POV
“You can’t leave.” I mumbled through pursed lips into Garick’s chest. It had finally come to the time where Garrick and Xaden were the first of the rebellion children to enter the riders quadrant. That meant two years of being away from him completely. Two years of not knowing if he or your brother would be dead or alive when it came time for you and Liam to join the quadrant. Two years of you being alone in the bed that you had shared with a much larger male that engulfed your much larger smaller frame and kept you safe every night for the past four years.
You felt him place a soft kiss on your forehead. “They’ll go by faster than you think they will my little one.” He soothed as the tears finally streamed your face as you finally voiced your thoughts out loud. As you spoke your thoughts you felt his strong hand wipe your tears; “ Maybe for you but for me I have to worry about; two years of not knowing if you're alive or Xaden. Two years of not being able to fall asleep in your arms. Two years of-.” Garrick had cut you off “Hey ssssh. It’s going to be alright. I’m going to be worried about you two Y/N. In two years time you’ll be in my arms again and you’ll get to see Xaden, I promise.” He said softly as we heard aloud knock on the door, “Garrick! Time to leave!! It’s a four day trek!.” Your foster father had bellowed through the closed door. Tears still claiming your face you hung onto Garrick tighter. “Please don’t say the words.” You mumbled quietly; you had always hated goodbye; it was so permanent and everyone around you knew it. “It’s not goodbye, little one.” He said softly, squeezing you back just as tightly if not tighter.15 minutes had to have passed as Garrick had finished getting dressed and returned from the bathroom. “Everything is in your pack.” You had said softly reluctantly, handing it to him as you had sneaked a letter in there towards the bottom one for both him and Xaden. “Oh Y/N. Come here.” He said softly wrapping you in his arms as you wrapped your legs around his waist. “Tavis!” Your foster father now bellowed and knocked in the door. “Say goodbye to your foster sister and let's go, now!” Your foster parents had never approved of your and Garrick’s relationship, but that never stopped the both of you from falling madly in love with each other. Garrick rubbed soothing circles along your back, “Please don’t cry for me. If we can write, we will write as soon as possible, I promise. It’s not goodbye Y/N." "Garrick.! Let’s move it now. Being late to conscription day is not a good way to start your support for this country.” He bellowed full well knowing that was like a blow to the chest for both Garrick and I.
You softly traced his rebellion relic, your legs still wrapped around his waist. You felt Garrick start to move just as you were and he stopped as you had reached the porch and he sat you down on the chair outside; your foster father waiting by the carriage sternly. Garrick knelt down in front of you and intertwined your fingers and lifted them up and placed a soft kiss on your hands. Until next to my little one.” He said softly and pushed back a few of your stary bangs along your forehead. Somehow you managed to mumble out an “I love you. I love you both; both you and Xadn.” “I know he said softly; I’ll remind him and I love you Y/N, so much your my everything. Promise me that one day when we are able to, you'll accept my hand in marriage?” He asked softly, pulling a box from his pocket. “There’s nothing more that I would ever want in this world. Just promise me I’ll have your arms to jump into in two years.
Garrick smiled softly; that soft smile that you loved so much as he slipped the ring on your finger; “I promise. That is if our foster Father doesn’t kill me first.” You sighed’
“I love you. Always Gare.” He squeezed your hand one last time while standing up and placed a soft kiss on your forehead as you felt his warm hands leave your smaller ones. “Always my little one.” He whispered as you watched him turn and walk away from you.
* July 633 A.U.*
Y/N POV
You had woken up a few days prior before your start at Basgiath War College the same way Garrick had two years ago. “Y/N.” Your foster Father had knocked on your door loudly, “Time to leave now! Although I suppose you’ll move your ass faster than that boy did as you’ll get to see him if he's still alive.” You had groaned getting out of bed that morning. You thankfully had known that Garrick and Xaden were both still alive thanks to the letters they were finally able to send last year.
The few day's journey you had taken you and your foster Father to get to Basgiath was the longest few days of your life. You had signed in at the main gate and departed from your foster Father. Your main goal was one: to find Liam before you both had to cross a death bridge called the parapet and two: finally see Garrick, Xaden and Bodhi again. You hadn’t cared about the snide remarks you had gotten about your rebellion relic as you were focused on finding Liam. “Marked Bastard.” or “Traitor’s kid.” Were two of the most common remarks you heard. But as you spotted a blonde haired boy a few feet away with his rebellion relics down his arm none of that mattered anymore. You tapped his shoulder and both of you embraced each other in a hug before crossing the parapet.
Garrick’s POV
I looked down the list of names as each cadet that had crossed gave them to Xaden. One glance down to the see of potential cadets to see who was next in line made my heart stop. “Get ready for the next one, Riorson.” I said to Xaden a catch in my voice purely prominent. “Name.” Xaden had said to the cadet that stood before us even though we both knew it clearly. “Y/N Riorson.” she said calmly, to calm for someone that was about to cross this death trap but I knew she was trying to keep her composure and not show affection towards either of us right now. “Go ahead.” Xaden said coolly and nodded his head behind us. I couldn’t help but whisper “Small steps, It’s slick with the rain. I love you.” I said as quietly as possible as I felt her fingers brush mine lightly.
Y/N POV
You had already been reunited with your cousin and Imogen and with stood formation before you even had the chance to see Garrick or your brother. You were making your way to the dinning hall as you felt a tug on your arm pulling you around the corner, it took everything in you not to gasp at the contact as you knew who was grabbing you already and pulling you into their chest. “Gods I’ve missed you.” Garrick said softly, pulling you in tighly. “I missed you too, so much more than you could ever know.” “You're ok?” he asked with concern heavily in his voice as he stepped back to get a good luck at you and ran his hands up and down your arms. “I’m fine, Gare. Promise.” You said softly. “Gods I love you.” He said soothingly pulling you into one more tight against him one more time. “I love you too, Gare.” You had said soothingly as you held each other tightly. “Listen, love, I know it’s going to be hard but we can’t publicly display our affection towards each other. At least not until Threshing. It’s for your own safety, little one.” You nod into his chest not trusting your voice in the moment. “I don’t need other cadets, especially older cadets thinking you're trying to sleep your way to safety by dating a squad leader. You already have a target on your back for being a marked one and another for being Xaden’s younger sister.” “Will get through it Gare, I’m just glad to have you again baby.” You said softly into his chest.
* September 633 A.U.*
Y/N POV
One month until Threshing. “Anyone have any questions?” Xaden asked as you met up with the rest of the current rebels at Basgiath under a tree late at night. “Physics.” One girl had said quietly one you had never met personally until this year that had also started with you and Liam as you had sat on the ground sitting on Garrick’s lap. At least these meetings of your brother’s was one place you and Garrick could show affection towards each other. “Seriously, I feel you. I don’t even know what physics has to do with dragon riding anyways.” You said with a giggle as Garrick nibbled your ear “You doing fine with our study sessions little one.” “Legit study sessions?” Bodhi smirked. “Oh shut it Durran.” You had teased turning to look over Garrick’s shoulder. “Everything good Y/N?” He asked. You shook your head “Yeah, I just thought I had heard a noise is all.” “Physics is easy and the least of our problems. We can start having actual study sessions.” Your brother said glaring towards you and Garrick. “Anything else?” “Yeah Sorrengail.” Imogen sneered to your right. “I told you Cardulo she’s mine to handle.” “Imogen and I could do a better job, brother.” you smirked as Garrick chuckled. “Enough from all of you. She is mine to handle.” He said as you and Imogen both groaned. “If there’s nothing else suppressing tonight, I think that’s it.” Xaden said dismissing you all. As you stood you turned your head trying to take in all of your surroundings as most of the others had left you, Xad, Bodhi and Garrick. “Little one?” Garrick asked. “I just thought I saw movement on the branch, but it’s probably just an animal.” The boys nodded in agreement and Xaden had stated he wanted to walk back by himself and over time all of you had learned not to question your brother.
* November 633 A.U.*
Y/N POV
Threshing had come and gone and you were now bonded to a green daggertail named Carieann who happened to be of the sme line as Cruir who was bonded to your cousin Bodhi. You were getting used to having Carie in your mind almost 24/7. Now that you were bonded you had your own room like the other bonded first years but spent most nights in Garrick’s room still anyways. His bed was just bigger and comfier for the both of you. Your signet had also manifested and you were the first in your year to join Carr’s class. Air. Carieann had said to you when you first knocked everything off the desk in Garrick’s room without being near your desk during your morning sex one day. You can manipulate, good job little one. She said softly; which Carrieann you had found had a soft demeanor for a dragon.
You groaned when you felt a cold spot in your bed where Garrick should have been. You could faintly hear a soft argument coming through the walls to the room that was attached to Garrick’s, but you couldn’t make out anything the two males were saying. You grumbled pullin on your black robe as you walked across the hall and knocked on your brother’s door; you could hear the two males instantly shut up upon doing so. “Y/N, come in.” Xaden said as he opened the door. “And what were my brother and boyfriend arguing about, at this ungodly hour in the morning?” You mumbled through a yawn, wrapping yourself around Garrick’s waist from the side. “We weren’t arguing.” Xaded stated flatly. “I could clearly hear both of you across the hall. Also you’ve always been a terrible liar Xay.” “You caught us love, we were arguing.” Gare had said and placed a kiss on the top of your head; “I’m sorry we woke you up.” He said softly.
“What were you arguing about? It was about me wasn't it?” “Don’t be silly. It wasn’t about you. It was about mine and Sorrenail’s issue.” Xaden had said softly as Garrick scoffed. “Right, the Sorrengail issue. Something tells me that wasn’t it this time.” “It’s nothing for you to worry about. Just some third year stuff.” Garrick had scoffed again. “Alright fine, I’ll drop it. I get it.” You had groaned. “Come little one, let's get dressed for classes.” Garrick said and guided you out of your brother’s room; not without a snide glare back towards your brother. You could have sworn you felt your brother’s shadows brush your wrist softly as you and Garrick had left.
*Winter Solstice 633 A.U.*
Y/N POV
Winter Solstice used to be one of your favorite holidays. However that was until you had noticed your boyfriend and brother were absent from the activities. In fact you had noticed they were absent from everything all day now that you had thought about it. “Bodhi.” “Hmmm.” Your cousin hummed in reply, not looking up from the game of chess he was playing with Liam. “Where the hell are Xaden and Garrick?” “I’m not sure what you mean, Y/N.” You sighed heavily as you were sitting in a common room and enjoying the fire, or more like trying to. “You sure as hell do Durran and you know it. Why they hell have they been acting so weird lately?”
“No ones been acting weird lately.” Xaden said as he and Garrick sat on the couch next to you. Instead of cuddling into Garrick’s side like you had wanted to, you stood up. “Yes you have both of you have even Durran.” You said sternly pointing a finger at each of them as you directed your voice towards them. “Y/N, sweetheart calm down.” Garrick said softly standing up, but you pushed him back down. “No you don’t get to sweetheart me. Not right now.” “You’ve all been hiding something from me and I demand it right now.” At that you had gotten both boys to sighed heavily; you had even gotten a sigh out of Bodhi. “Where the hell were you two today?” Garrick sighed and glanced towards Xaden. “We were-” “No.” You're brother had cut him off with a sharp tone. “She'll when the time is right.” “I knew you had been hiding something. '' I said, voice sharp and fists clenched. Little one.” Garrick had said softly and pulled you into a calming embrace before your anxiety attack had a chance to spiral. “Breathe.” he said softly rubbing soft circles along your back.
Several months had passed and it was now mid February and it seemed like Garrick, Xaden and Bodhi were gone more frequently and you were about to reach your wits end with all of them. You sighed heavily sitting down to breakfast with Imogen and the others. “What's up your ass?” Imogen asked from across the table. “I just feel like the boys are hiding more than what they’re letting on about.” “Come on Y/N/N, Garrick’s your boyfriend, Xaden is your brother, and Bodhi is your cousin. Do you really think those three are hiding anything from you?” “Yeah Imogen I do. They’ve been coming back at all certain points when they do go wherever the hell they go. Hell sometimes Garrick isn’t even back in bed until the next morning, a few hours before we have to get up from classes.” “Relax, Riorson.” Liam said. “Relax?” I snapped. “I’m tired of hearing that word from anyone from Carrieann from Xaden from Garrick. Breathe, Liam did nothing he's just trying to understand. Carrieann chimed in your mind. You sighed. “I’m sorry, Li.” You had said softly. “It’s just each time I even ask about what's going on Garrick is all ready to tell me and Xaden just cuts me off and says when the time is right.” “I’ve tyred asking about them and I get the same response.” Violet said to you in an understanding. “I’m just going to get ready for class.” You said take your barely half eaten breakfast to the trash.
You had decided to take the long way back to the dorms when you paused and heard bickering male voices you knew all too well. You paused in your steps you could have sworn you heard your brother say Aretia and Rebellion. You stormed around the corner; “Good Morning boys. Nice of you to finally come back to the quadrant.” You snapped towards the three of them. “Sweetheart.” Garrick said softly. “No.” You had snapped; “I’m done. I’m done with these secrets. I demand to know what's going on.” “We’ve only kept this quiet to protect you and the others from back home.” Xaden started to say softly. “In our first year here we decided to help rebuild our home. We also decided to smuggle weapons out of Basgiath to help aid the gryphon fliers.” Garrick said, reaching for your wrist as you pulled away. “And you decided to keep that from each of us since you’ve started? That you’ve been going home and rebuilding our childhood home?” You stammered. “Y/N/N.” Xaden said softly. “I’m sorry.” Garrick said softly trying to reach for you again but at this point you had backed yourself away from them and backed closer into the opposite wall. “If you're sorry then let me help, let the others help.” Your brother gave you a solemn look that you knew all too well. “It’s too dangerous, Y/N/N. '' Xaden said. You shook your head and started to hold the tears that were brimming your eyes. “Little one.” Garrick said softly trying to stop closer to you. Your cousin is a silent specter in all of this. “I can’t do this anymore, not right now. I need a break from all of you.” “Y/N/N, please.” Garrick said softly hurt clearly on his face just as much as yours.
“Let me know when you boys have rethought your decision.” You stammered out barely keeping your composure together. That night you had gone to your own room for the first time since it had been assigned to you as yours. You climbed into the cold bed and tried to get comfortable without Garrick by your side. Half of you, more than half of you was screaming to go up the stairs and climb into his bed and into his arms. You had spent basically every night in that man’s arms since you started dating besides the two years you were separated. I know this is hard but I’m proud of you for standing your ground; Y/N. Carrieann chimed in your head softly. Rest you will need it, I’ll keep you safe. So you can be sweet, Good night Carrieann. You teased back at your dragon down your bond.
*July 1st- July 8th 634 A.U.*
Y/N POV
It was now the month of July and being a cadet at Basgiath War College July meant several things. Reunification day which was today, war games and graduation. Graduation meant you and Garrick would be separated again, that is if you were ever talking again; as July also meant it had been almost four whole months since you have given the boys the ultimatum. The only one you had really talked to besides Liam and Imogen as Bodhi as you knew your cousin was mainly the innocent bystander in Garrick and Xaden’s schemes. July also meant that each squad would participate in war games before graduation.
The day was long and drawing out as you prepared for the evening. You were only going to the evenings events to support Liam who was crowned the body guard of Violet several months ago. When you reached the courtyard you stationed yourself on a bench as secluded as you could be. “I didn’t expect to see you here, Riorson.” Dain said softly sitting down next to you. You sniffled pushing back the tears that were threatening to escape at the thoughts in the back of your mind. “I’m just here so Liam isn’t alone.” “I see. So are you going to talk to your boyfriend and brother anytime soon again?” “I don’t know. They held some big lies that I’m still not completely over and they also haven’t accepted their ultimatum.” You sniffled. “Hey it’s ok.” Dain said softly placing a hand on the small of your back as the fireworks ended and symbolized the ending of the event.
“Can I walk you back to your room?” Dain asked genuinely to help you stand, you nod softly. “I’d like that, please.” “Of course. Long way or short?” He asked, wrapping his arm around the middle of your waist. “Long.” You had responded in hopes you wouldn’t pass that many other cadets as you weren’t in the mood for much conversaton. As you and Dain had passed around the corner to the first floor dorms you felt a hand softly grab your wrist and watched Garrick step out of the shadows. You watched as he took in the sight of Dain’s arm around your waist. “Can we talk?” Garrick asked, his voice weavering on the verge of confiedence. “That depends if you and Xaden are ready to let me help.” “Y/N/N.” Garrick said in a mild tone and that was all you needed to know for an answer; “Goodnight, Tavis.” You said flatly turning towards your room hiding the tears threatening your face; Dain’s hand still placed softly on your back as reassurance as you unlocked your door. “Are you settled for the night?” He asked as he gave you once over. You nodded; “Yeah, I’m just gonna grab my things and head to the shower rooms and freshen up before trying to sleep.” “I don’t know whatever it is that they are not letting you be a part of but if you ever need anyone.” He said in a less than confident voice, hand resting on the back of his neck. “Thanks, Dain. It’s definitely complicated. I’m sure they’ll come around. If they don’t-” I paused the tears threatening again at the complete chance of losing both your love of your life and your brother.” Dain nodded in a content agreement and gave you one more hug before you both had said goodnight.
You had felt a rushed knock at your door and groaned to Dain at the other end. “What's going on?” You mumbled sleepily. “War games. We need to meet in our squad and split into teams. Flight field on 15.” You grumbled gathering your bag and. Carrieann. You asked down your bond. I’m ready, so are the others. She said calmly, almost too calm for what was about to happen as you meet up with the rest of the squad; Xaden and Dain are already bickering about teams. “Hey Riorson.” Ridoc said happily, slapping an arm around your back, “You look like shit.” “Gee thanks Gamlyn.” “Anytime.” He smirked as you and Garrick locked eyes with each other. A hint of remorse could almost be seen from him. “Y/N.” He said walking over to you. “Now really isn’t the best time for us to have this conversation, Garrick.” “Marked ones with me and everyone else with Aetos.” as you were both cut off by your brother stepping into place as you heard Violet protesting to go with us. You stepped forward, “It’s fine Violet and I can switch that way Tairn and Sgaeyl can be together if something happens.” Garrick tried reaching for you as you went to switch out with Violet but you just shrugged him off. Dain handed you the flag he was holding as if it was a silent action to solidify your spot on this side of your team. However even though you weren’t going to admit you were a little pained that you weren’t going to face whatever was ahead with the rest of the marked ones; your forever family. “Alright everyone knows what to do.” Xaden said in his wingleader voice and through a soft gaze towards you as he said “Fly out.” You mounted Carrieann as the group mounted their dragons. I know this is tough I'm proud of you. She said to you softly.
*July 6th 634 A.U.*
Y/N POV
It had been almost three whole days since the other team should have been back. The other team consisted of your friends, your cousin, your brother, your boyfriend. You sighed, taking your seat between Rhiannon and Ridoc during battle brief that morning. “You ok Riorson.” Ridoc asked “They should be back. They were supposed to be back by now.” You had felt a pang of guilt with how things were between you, Xaden and Garrick when war games started. You were now certain it would only be days until you heard all their names on the morning death roll; knowing that you had been arguing for months before they left had taken a sudden toll in the past few days and your friends have noticed. “It’s all going to be ok.” Ridoc said softly and placed a reassuring hand on your knee. “Garrick and Xaden and I haven’t even been talking, Carrieann can’t reach any of their dragons and yet here we are continuing classes as if everything is supposed to be normal.” You stammered as your breathing was getting heavy as Professor Devera started the lesson as you bolted from your seat as you felt another panic attack starting to consume you. “Riorson; where are you going?” The professor directed towards me. “I can’t.” You had managed to stammer out as you could very faintly hear Dain apologizing for the both of you as he followed you out into the hall. “Breathe, It’s ok, just Breathe; Y/N/n.” He said soothingly, running his hands along your arms as he had down several times in the past days.
Carrieann would often alert Cath in the middle of the night if you had a panic attack or nightmare after the end of war games.”How is everything supposed to be normal when half of our squad is still missing. Half of our squad that is my family.” “I know, I know this is tough, but I promise you they are going to be ok.” He said softly as he had several other times this week. “How I’m I supposed to live with myself if this is how it ends?” “They both know you love them. You were standing up for yourself.” “I can’t go back to class.” “I know.” Dain soothed as your breathing started to come back to normal. “A walk in the courtyard for some fresh air?” You nodded as you knew he was the only one who could even feel close to how you were feeling because of Violet.
You sighed heavily in all defeat with none of the being back yet as you woke up on what was supposed to be Xaden and Garrick’s graduation day. Dain stirred beside you as he refused to leave after you had finally calmed down after your nightmare last night; which had been the worst one you had yet. “Are you ok if I go back upstairs and get dressed and ready for formation? You nod slightly; “Yeah I’ll be fine and hey Dain?” “Yeah?” He asked, tossing his black t-shirt back on. “Thank you again, especially for refusing to leave.” “Of course.” He said softly and placed a soft hand on your shoulder before he left.
*July 11th 634 A.U.*
Y/N
Guilt was riding all over you as you joined your squad sitting next to day during morning formation. You laid your head down on his shoulder keeping your tears at bay as you weren’t prepared for this morning's death roll. “Good morning cadets.” Captain Fitzgibbons said as he took his place on the dias. July 11th, 634 Au; Imogen Cardulo, and there it was you thought the first set of tears threatening to escape as the captain began reading your friends names; Bodhi Durran; your heart now sank as he said your cousins name; Liam Mairi, and there it was the first tear to fall from your face onto Dain’s shoulder as he placed a soft hand on your back followed by Sawyer following Dain’s movement; Violet Sorrengail, the captain continued to read; Garrick Tavis, and there it was one of the names that sent you spiraling into an ocean of tears; Xadan Riorson-. “Well this is rather awkward.” Your heart skipped a million voices. It had been almost two weeks. Was your mind playing tricks on you? You nervously lifted up your head from Dain’s shoulder; tears streaming down your face. But sure enough there stood your brother and Garrick and everyone else the one person missing was Liam. You had locked eyes with Garrick as you heard the captain say:
“I don’t understand,” Fitzgibbons says to the two scribes behind him, then addresses Panchek. “They aren’t dead. Why would they have been reported for the death roll?”
You steadily hold your gaze with Garrick tears still streaming down your face as he steadily holds his gaze with yours. There was nothing more that you wanted to break formation and jump into the arms of the man you loved. You needed to feel him to know he was really there to know that Liam was unfortunately the only one to really be gone. But you know you couldn't, you knew you had to wait until Violet and your brother were done pleading their story and waiting for the council's approval. If they didn’t approve,- well you didn’t even want to think of the possibilities or even actual death your friends would endure.
Finally after what seemed like hours, formation hand ended and their story was believed and riders were frantically making their own decisions about what they had just heard and what choice they wanted to make. You could care less about that as you and Garrick were each trying to move through the sea of cadets to get to each other; your brother and everyone else close behind him. “Little one, my little one.” Garrick said softly wrapping his arms around your waist both of you with tears falling down your face. “I’m so sorry.” You managed to mumbled into Garrick’s chest as you felt your brother place a reassuring hand on your back. “You don’t have to apologize. We are the ones that need to apologize. I should have let you help but you are my little sister and keeping you safe is my number priority.Your hands left Garrick’s back and found themselves on your brothers. “I almost lost you, I almost lost both of you.” You said quietly one arm reaching out for Garrick as well. “I love you both, I love you both so much. Just don’t be dicks and let me help next time.” This had earned a chuckle from both of the boys as Garrick pulled you away from your brother and fully back into his arms as you wrapped your legs around his waist.
“I shouldn’t be worried about Aetos should I?” He asked through a chuckle. You shook your head which was buried into the crock of his neck as you took in his familiar scent. I raised up your head to look at the love of your life and take in his hazel eyes and pushed a loose curl back into place.“I love you and only you. You're mine and I’m yours. Always and forever.” You said softly and rested your foreheads together as Garrick repeated “I love you and only you. You're mine and I’m yours. Always and forever.” “Oh please gag me.” Imogen chidded from behind both of you, which had earned a soft chuckle from everyone nearby.
A/N: This was my first request! I hope I did it justice and that you enjoyed it whoever the anon was! Thank you again for sending it to my inbox. I’m always taking requests!

My neighbors recently moved out and I feel that my childhood is ending because they were much more than just neighbors, they were our family. Their father came to live with my grandparents for studies like 40 years ago when he was 6 or something (They were literally here since before my aunt was even born) and since then they've grown here, bought the upper floor of our house and made their home here. They have a daughter of my age whose literally my soul sister and one of the closest person in my life, we've literally been best friends since the day I was born. Their son whose 2 years younger than me never made me feel that I don't have a brother because of the constant irritation and trouble he put me through. The youngest a 12 year old boy was the reason for half of the noise of our house. We grew up together, playing together and living in each other's house more than ours. My grandparents regarded them as their own and their parents always bought extra ice cream and sweets for me. We had treats every Sunday, random midnight coffees, played and watched cricket and saw every phase of each other's lives. And now they're all gone. Not that we don't talk, my grandparents raised their father like their own child and we're all very close but there's no more constant chaos, shouts of my name at any hour to tell me something utterly useless through the balcony, no cricket balls hitting the washing machine, no more "wait I'll come upstairs and tell you", no random borrowing of things, extra portions of food being exchanged and no hanging out in each other's home till 1 am and ending up sleeping there only. We used to be 9 kids here, living so close that our roofs were literally connected. One was older than me, one of my age, one 2 years younger and the rest were kids. We gathered at the terrace every evening to play badminton or cricket, there's barely any core childhood memory without atleast one of them. Now the oldest has moved to a different city for college and visits only on holidays, two of the kiddos shifted earlier this year, the three who were the closest to me have shifted and I may move to a different city for education. I know it's not much and I maybe exaggerating but all of it is literally coming to an end. The best friend who used to run into each other's room to cry, laugh or gossip at ungodly hours are now crying over voicemails. I'm missing the boy who I used to fight with at any possible chance. The upper floor is all dark. There are no voices and shouts. My childhood has ended.
#very exaggerated ik#but it's a massive change for me#these people were literally my childhood#they were my siblings before my sister was even born#they are the person who I call when I'm in need#somi.exe#desiblr

If Hyuga had a baby sister
featuring: Murayama, not edited!
To be realistic, revenge consumed so many years of his life that Hyuga would barely acknowledge his little sister's existence.
They don't even share the same mother. They've never even lived in the same home. Hyuga didn't even remember the year she was born.
During the middle of a SWORD issue, something happened. He got a call from an unknown number.
"Is this Hyuga Norihisa?"
He grunted, "Who wants to know?"
Out of anyone, he could have imagined he didn't think it'd be a social worker. The worker had wanted to take his sister from her foster parents for a long time now. Since Hyuga was out of prison, the worker had been trying to get into contact with him.
When he hung up, he laughed. They must have been desperate to look past his record.
It was also Hyuga's first time thinking of her for longer than a minute. Contemplating whether he should bother meeting her.
The clearest memory of her was when his father forced him to hold her. He was prepared for the newborn in his arms to start crying or fussing, but it never happened. Instead, she just looked at him and slowly fell asleep.
A day after the warehouse fight, Hyuga somehow ended up at the social services agency. He hadn't even made a final decision, but he was here.
The sight of this little girl sitting on the floor of a piss poor excuse of playroom. The walls were peeling, and the floor looked like it hadn't been clean in years. Still, she was just sitting there, with a paper lunch tray in front of her.
At first, he just stood there, and she just looked at him. Then he sighed and sat down on the floor with her. She still didn't say anything.
Reluctantly, he called her name. It was foreign on his tongue. When she looked at him, Hyuga realized how much she looked like their father.
"Hyuga," He pointed at himself and then laying back, leaning his weight against his arms.
At first, this little four year old had look of familiarity. Granted, they did share their family name, but then her face changed into something strange. It was almost empty, Hyuga had never seen such a thing on a child. But then he remembered something one of his brothers had said years ago.
"Anyone else with my name come see you?" He roughly asked.
His sister nodded.
"They say anything to you?"
She nodded again.
"Well, what was it?"
She spoke for the first time, "He said I should die."
Hyuga didn't understand why he had taken her home that day. Not one bit.
Maybe it was because what she told him, maybe because she was the only other Hyuga alive.
It could also be when he asked why she didn't eat her food, she had only answered, "I wanna save it. So my tummy won't hurt at night."
Hyuga had zero idea on how to raise a kid. Or talk to one for that matter.
"You smoke?"
She shook her head, "Nuh-uh."
Hyuga noticed that when he showed his little sister his kitchen, she kept opening and closing the cabinets and drawers. She kept saying, "Where the locks?"
He realized very quickly that he had to encourage her to take what she wanted in the kitchen.
To ask for things in general seemed to be difficult at first, but she was in a new environment.
Hyuga taught her how to microwave frozen foods and made sure the packaged food in the fridge was lowered enough to where she could reach.
Taking her to the Daruma Temple the first time, people thought he had a secret love child.
Nobody, not even the men that used to be from Hyuga Kai, knew there was a younger Hyuga.
Hyuga's little sister is going hide a lot from Daruma Ikka, even though they would still be getting to know each other, she would hide behind his legs. He isn't as annoyed at the action as he'd thought he'd be.
She would go as far as hiding her head in the back of his Daruma jacket.
One time, Hyuga broke one of his glass bongs. It became an incident he still feels bad for.
Pissed off, Hyuga left the room for a second to go find a broom. While he only left for a moment, his sister wandered over. She thought the colored glass was pretty, and she bent down to grab it.
"Don't fucking touch that!" He yelled.
She flinched hard.
Big eyes, her big watery eyes, looked at him, and Hyuga instantly regretted it. When she started wailing, he cursed.
"Shit. Hey, hey, I'm sorry. Don't cry." Hyuga walked over and lifted her up, away from the mess.
"Y-y.... mad at me!" She hiccuped between her crying.
He frowned, trying to find a way to calm her down. Cautiously putting a hand on her head, "I'm not mad. I'm not."
Needless to say, he immediately tried way harder to care for her after.
He'd buy her toy cars that look like his actual ones. They're all lined up on a shelf above her bed.
Sakyo and Ukyo call her "Lil' Demon."
The first time she gets taken to a festival blew her mind. The street food, the lights, the music, and dances. Another thing Hyuga learned, don't let go of a kid's hand on busy streets
Watching her look at the fireworks in amazement is a memory Hyuga likes reminiscing on.
From that day on every time there's fireworks, he makes sure to put her on his shoulders. She likes to hold her hands up, grabbing the air like she might actually catch the colorful explosions.
Not too long later, his little sister would eventually have to start attending school. The first day was a lot harder than Hyuga expected it do be.
"No..." She ran away from door, pressing her face into his legs. She was so little, her pink and red backpack was comically huge on her.
"Yah." Hyuga looked down at her, "C'mon. It's not so bad."
"Don't leave," She used those adorable puppy eyes at him.
Still, he shook his head, "I have to, kid. But I'll pick you up couple hours. We can go get ice cream after, 'kay?"
Napping at the Daruma temple whenever she sees Hyuga lounging around his eyes closed. She puts her head on his lap and she goes to sleep just like that.
When Hyuga finds her asleep, he carries her to the nearest couch or cot.
It was rare for her to get in trouble at school but when she did it was for the most unhinged cases.
Like stealing cookies from the cafeteria and selling them to people or bringing a snake she found on the playground into the classroom.
One time, he got a call from the school, his little sister punched a kid.
Hyuga sat down next to her, she looked up, revealing her scratched up cheek. He grimaced with a squint, then tilted his head.
"What happened?"
She grumbled with pout.
"Kid." Hyuga wasn't the type to ask twice, she knew this by now.
"That boy called me a bad word and pulled my hair." She pouted harder, ready for a scolding.
Hyuga looked around for a second before leaning over to whisper, "Did you put your weight into it?"
She nodded aggressively.
"Good."
She convinced him to let her keep a couple stray cats in the temple. Hyuga didn't know how the hell was he supposed to say no.
She has a Daruma inflatable, not uncommon to see her punch it down like she's a little boxer.
His little sister loves hello kitty. They have a picture together with a hello kitty mascot that no one knows about.
She watches disney movies so much that one time he caught himself singing 'Part of your World' in front of his guys.
When Hyuga drives her in one of his lowriders, he makes the car bounce up and down to hear her giggles.
Sometimes, when Hyuga is napping she likes to come up to him and yell, "Boo!" If no one is around, he gasps dramatically and puts a hand over his heart.
Hyuga teaches her card games, showing her the tricks and how to read poker faces. As well as other gambling games. He says it's essential stuff.
The day Murayama wins against Hyuga, she doesn't understand what's happening. She thinks someone came to attack her big brother, so she ran in, biting and scratching.
"What the-" Murayama hisses and tries to shake her off.
Hyuga, on the floor, starts laughing. He lets this happen for a long minute until he rose up.
She got picked up by the collar of her shirt. Like a cat, she hangs limply in the air.
Hyuga snorted, "Alright, alright. That's enough."
"Whoa," Murayama leans down, takes a good look at her, "Is this your kid?"
"She's my sister."
"She looks like you," He nodded with a hand on his chin, "A mini Hyuga."
One time, Hyuga's little sister came home stomping. It was odd to see her come home so angry. When he walked over to her opened door he saw she was ripping a painted drawing.
He managed to calm her down and talk to her. Something he was getting better with time.
"For stupid mother's day," She said, throwing the paper on the ground. It must have been a project she had to make.
Ah. Hyuga could see the anger threatening to bubble out of her again. So, he hugged her. She jumped in surprised, before she sat still. Then, with no warning, tears fell quietly from her eyes.
"Stupid," She spat out.
"Stupid," He agreed.

Dick Grayson Angst
I'm in a mood and I just really needed to write some angst. I have found a depressing shortage of Dick angst. There is so much angst for Jason, Tim and even Damian but I feel a deep lack of Dick angst. As the oldest child in a large family with a dead brother, I feel it is my duty to provide (he just like me fr)
I can't spell very well bc of my dyslexia, I do have Grammarly on but it misses some things so I can't promise that everything in this post will be legible, I just really needed to get this down.
TW: oldest child/good child syndrome, mentioned noncon, death, canon typical violence, (I'm sorry to all my can-do-no-wrong Batdad fans but I’m sticking to canon Batman here) child abuse, emotional/physical abuse.
• Dick is the oldest, that much is a given. But as the oldest he was the “guinea pig” or the “experiment” child of the family. He's seen it all. Bruce had no idea how to raise a child so any parenting skills, good and bad (mostly bad) were tested out on Dick.
• It's no secret that Jason was the favorite Robin out of the two of them. Dick knew it. But come on! Jason came from the shittiest of situations, he was a street rat, and his mom was an addict. Of course, he was happy when Bruce took him in. Bruce was probably a Saint compared to the things Jason had lived through. Dick on the other hand came from a loving family. Two parents who would do anything for him, showering him with love and praise. So when he was suddenly taken in, taught to be a vigilante by a man that would hit him, yell at him, was cold, showed no emotion except rage, pretended to love him unconditionally in front of the Press, show him little to no love behind closed doors. Do you really think Dick was going to just be happy-go-lucky?
• Dick sees each one of his younger siblings as his charge. When he gets a new one, (whether he likes it or not) he takes over as big bro immediately, feeling like it's his responsibility to raise them in areas bats never could. I feel like he wants to be a shield between his sibling and their father. Most of the newer kids will never know about the man Bruce was when it was just one Robin. Cold, mean, unforgiving. But he would show them lobe in places where Bruse was still lacking.
•He probably resents Bruce in some way for it. He can’t show it though. The man took him in when he had nothing. But if Bruce is capable of loving the family he has now. Why couldn’t he love Dick then back when he needed him the most? Of course that doesn’t change the fact that he will *always* come back to Bruce. It doesn’t matter how much shit Bruce puts him through, he would never leave Bruce forever. He loves him more than anything and would always but Bruce first, right along with his siblings.
• Dick has a problem with putting his sibling needs first. You will rarely catch him being sad or vulnerable in front of his family members. This is funny because he’s always the one encouraging his family to feel their emotions and let things out when they need to. He's always there when they need to vent, ready to listen and to be a shoulder to cry on.
• He can’t be sad though. He the happiest person, he has to be happy to help navigate the angst. He’s the glue. The strong hold of the family. When there’s a fight (mostly between a sibling and their emotionally stunted father) Dick will play the mediator every time.
• I feel like Tim reminded Dick of Bruce a little too much. So, yes, Dick loves Tim. Of course he does. But Tim is also pretty emotionally stunted. Meanwhile Damien is a ball of rage. Damien is so obviously autistic (I have much reasoning for this one but I can get into another day) and needs so much patience and love. Dick threw himself wholeheartedly into his youngest brother. Their dad was “dead” and he had nothing left so he used raising the boy as a way to cope, even if it meant leaving Tim in the shadows.
• He regrets leaving Tim the way he did. But he just couldn't handle it at the time. He would later believe himself to be turning into Bruce. The thought alone causes Dick to break down. He hates hurting his sibling more than anything, he would die for anyone of them and it hurts him to know they hurt.
• Dick has a problem with wanting to fix everything and everyone. Even his own friends and team members. He probably doesn’t even recognize it, but whenever he is forced to come to grips with the fact that he can’t help a certain person it eats at him.
• He uses sex as a coping mechanism. It’s no secret to anyone that he has slept with *a lot* of people. He thinks sex is the only way to get people to love him because he doesn’t really understand what a healthy relationship looks like. It gets him into situations that he doesn’t want to be in. But he believes he deserves it when those things happen because it means he’s loved. He's only ever had Playboy Bruce to truly base a relationship off of, not remembering his parents relationship well enough.
• Leading off of the last point, he doesn’t know how to say no. He will agree to even the worst of things because he craves the validation that comes from doing things for people, no matter the cost to himself. He will end up piling favors on top of favors until it becomes so overwhelming he breaks.
• He probably breaks in manic sort of way. Like, he will go out of his way to deny that anything is wrong and let everything build for weeks to months until it bubbles over and he just goes nuts. It’s mostly a self destructive sort of nuts though. He might panic and clean his apartment until his fingers are raw from cleaning chemicals, maybe he will throw himself into a fight he knows he can’t handle just to get beat up. He might throw out everything he owns before panicking at what he’s done and go back in search of the things he just tossed. But all the while he would go out of his way to make sure no one knew what was happening.
• Being Robin, being the “oldest”, being the one to raise his younger siblings, to create a path for them to follow while also guiding to follow their own paths. He lost who he was. Who is Dick Grayson if not a vigilante? Who is the person behind the mask? He doesn't know. It's why he left. It's why Bruce was so angry. Dick was supposed to be his protege, but that isn't the life Dick wanted. And when Jason died, the only piece that Dick had of himself, that part that was a brother, the last that finally had a *close* friend, died right along with him. Even after Jason came back, Dick never really found that piece of himself again. Dick left to Bludhaven to finally find himself. But the cowl would forever remain a piece of him that he could not shake.
• Bruce is probably trying to be a better parent/person. Dick is proud of him, but he still doesn't fully trust it and Bruce knows that. But Bruce won't do anything, especially not apologize for the things he’s done to his eldest. But Bruce will tell him he’s proud of the person Dick has become. That probably tears Dick to pieces for reasons he doesn’t understand. He probably has been waiting for the praise his whole life and now that he has it it makes him sick in a way he can't comprehend.
• There are days that he is almost %100 sure that the only reason he keeps going is because of his family. Not his precinct, not whatever one sided relationship he’s found himself in (until Barbara that is, but even she counts as family) not his job, not his friends, not even himself. He’s living for his family. Even when his family is falling apart at the seems, he is still living for them. It’s tiring, sure. But he does it because it’s all he’s ever known. Living for Bruce for years, living for Jason and Alfred and Barbara then for Tim and Damien, then Steph and Cass and Duke. It’s what he does. It’s what he knows.
I can keep going but this is getting kind of long and it's late and I have to be up early in the morning. Let me know if you want more or, anything specific! I want to write more so ask me anything!

I'd like to hear your thoughts on my rewrite of him my brain is a bit fried but I tried my best hope you like it
Still the same
But as a child he honestly tried to protect his brothers from their mother's abuse he didn't like her massive favoritism because she had other children to worry about why him
He honestly spent many nights in the dungeon when he would yell and scream at their mother especially after finding out she literally had intercourse in front of his younger brother that left a very bad taste in his mouth because he's just a child younger than him
And when he found out about Cordelia abusing his other brother he went crazy but safe to say she ended up with some injuries that needed to heal
Because she can harm him she can whip him hell she can even torture him for all he cares but he's not going to let her get away with hurting the people he loves dearly
Because she's the reason they're ruined
And throughout the years he eventually snapped he grabbed a silver knife and stabbed that woman
As many times as he could but unfortunately she got away but still died in the end
Although he wished he didn't kill her he wished he left her crippled because he views death as too easy he needs her to live with her consequences of her actions but there are some decisions that are made and cannot be changed or go back on which he finds hard to accept but accepts it in the end and
he's not the type to insult people unless they really deserve it or humble them
Personality
Kind-hearted a bit bratty but can be quite shy
And soft he finds it hard to open up to others because he is used to hiding behind a facade acting like he's the best even though he feels like the worst
He struggles with self-confidence but he keeps it very down inside because he will just get in the way and divide
And he by no means is a sadist I mean he deals with a sadistic mother and has to deal with his brothers think any God in the universe that the youngest of his brothers isn't a sadist either because how could they take pleasure in someone's pain sure they've been hurt before but why not work towards being a better person that's the question that plagues his mind every time he sees his brothers and their actions with his own eyes and sometimes he fights the urge to cry because he blames it on himself maybe he could have done something maybe he could have prevented it even though it wasn't his fault he was just a child
My changes on how he'll treat Yui:
He's a bit of a tease but he's honestly kind-hearted to her and gets her out of a lot of bad situations when his brothers want to punish her for stupid reasons the way he teases hers when she makes her cute mistake nothing that would actually make her feel bad or make her angry but just the time that can easily make her laugh as well hell he even lets her tease him even if she's bad at it
But looking at this poor girl that's been thrown into the situation one that has been brainwashed and manipulated by the church he simply can't help but be possessive he's not to the point he would physically harm her but others around them
He keeps her far away from his brothers because they're just as worse if not more except Subaru since he knows he isn't the worst
He desperately tries his breath to protect her he still has regrets about being unable to protect other Brides when he was still very young when they were being sent to the house
Facts
He honestly thought since all of them were unfortunately abused they wouldn't want to repeat their parents Behavior work towards
becoming a better person he hoped but he came to the disturbing and horrifying realization that all of them took pleasure and inflicting pain upon someone that has done nothing wrong to them
especially those that don't deserve it and all because of what they're sent here to be Brides so what still doesn't give them the right to treat them as if they're rag dolls they're literally the reason they have blood to drink instead of taking it out in public that is something that leaves a better taste in his mouth not even the sweetest blood can make it go away for a long time
Body facts
He has some scars on his body from brutal punishments which is quite insecure about and which he covers
His hands are long / thin
With visible veins
He's the tallest out of the triplets
He looks like a mix of both his mother and father in face structure but he has red hair and green eyes his mother's eyes
He's not a twink he has muscle on him
He's kind of a big teddy bear that just wants to be loved genuine love not lust
Sexuality
Omnisexual
He can't feel sexual attraction unless he's in a deep and committed relationship with someone he doesn't want it just to be sex that just makes him feel used
And because of his behavior he's the most thought after when a bride is sent to the house some Brides have even ran to him or Subaru
Because they know they're the safest and have the most empathy and Sanity
And he is definitely let younger Brides Escape or have killed them but as painless as possible because they are just children it's best just to put them out of their misery
I LOVE THIS AYATO! This is how they should write him instead of the bratty sadist we got, i love how you changed his relationship with yui and his brothers! 10/10

Maedhros Having A Twin Sister
A/N: I remembered the anon who sent the request for Caranthir's twin sister had given me the option of him, Maedhros and Fingon, and I've been obsessed with the idea of Mae having a twin sister. I might follow up with Fingon soon.
𑁍 So let’s say that you were the older born 20 minutes before him, you and Maedhros are going to be considered the apple of everyone and the family’s eye. The first child, the first girl, the first of everything within the House of Feanor, you are going to be cherished.
𑁍 Both you and Maedhros would receive equal parts of love, affection and attention. There isn’t any need for either of you to fight over who gets to spend more time with amillё and atar. Both Nerdanel and Feanor would be over the moon that their first babies were twins and equally beautiful.
𑁍 As Maedhros twin, growing up as the first two of the third generation of the House of Finwe, you are both alone for the greater half of your childhood before the rest of your siblings and cousins arrive. This means that you and Mae have many years to bond wonderfully.
𑁍 From playmates as children, you two would grow into adolescence and then adulthood having taken care of each other and constantly hovering. His attachment to you was always ‘she’s my sister, we’re supposed to be together always.’
𑁍 Maedhros was always attached to you, following you around wherever you went. If you wanted to play dress-up and dollhouse, he was down for that. If you wanted to host a tea party, he was also down for that. It didn’t matter (since it was just you two) where he was, so long as you were there.
𑁍 It was quite some funny years after your younger brothers were born, they were always fighting for your attention and Maedhros hated it, especially when Maglor and Caranthir used to cry and beg for you. It caused him to act stingy and keep you to himself.
𑁍 He can always count on you to be honest, brutal as well, and truthful with him. The both of you would adapt the roles of acting as parents to the rest of your siblings and cousins. This was a great relief for him because he would joke about what if it was just him alone as the eldest.
𑁍 Despite you being the eldest, for him as the eldest brother, he took the role of being head. You witnessed this during his years in Beleriand, he refused to give you that position, not wanting to give that volume of stress to you.
𑁍 You are close with him, Maglor, Caranthir and Ambarussar since the quiet personalities you all share are compatible. He was attached to you from a young all the way into adulthood. It’s something he uncontrollably does—just whips his head around to search for you and then stands nearby.
𑁍 He isn’t one to hover, but as the years pass and he realised that you were the only other girl in the family, he becomes protective. Giving your suitors the fatherly glare from over your shoulder or talking behind your back, and then acting dumb as if he had nothing to do with your suitor never returning.
𑁍 Arguments between you both are…complex. You’re opposites in terms of personality, but share lots of similarities with Nerdanel and her temperament, so disputes are never long but grudges were. Partially reasoned and sorted out, this was during Valinor.
𑁍 For his years in Beleriand, he was grateful for your company during his lonely and emotionally detached days in Himring. When Fingon or Maglor wasn’t there to sing away his nightmares, you would swoop in the care of him.
𑁍 Tending to his injuries, dressing and feeding him on his bad days, going to his meetings and assisting him with his documents/reports. He was grateful but also ashamed for dragging you into this. Despite acting as the eldest over everyone, he would always feel like your baby brother before you.
𑁍 This is the time when he would lean into your embrace and allow you to brush his hair and sing or baby him. He hates it since he doesn’t like the incapacitated feeling, but it makes him remember his youthful days with you; carefree and running around chasing each other.
𑁍 In return, he would spoil you with the finest riches the land had to offer because he enjoys gift-giving. Maedhros would take up training you in self-defence while being protective and not fancying the idea of you roaming about Beleriand.
𑁍 As the big sister, you were responsible for helping him with suitors. Dressing him up and making him appear desirable to the public. You would give him lots of advice on how to charm people and you were the final say on if you approved of his choice.
𑁍 His favourite days are spent going on walks or rides through the forest and getting everything off his chest. Witnessing him cry and breaking down was a familiar sight that broke your heart. You felt horrible that you could save your twin.
𑁍 Furthermore, you used to feel his pain, when be was going through the rough, but never told him to avoid him wallowing in guilt and shame. You took your job of being his big sister seriously, always easing his stress load and watching over him.
𑁍 You are his confidant and best friend, and he trusts you just as much as he trusts Maglor. You know all his secrets and his bond with you is unlike any other.

Childish
Natasha x reader
Reader is 22 and Natasha is 37
Being in love with someone whose a decade and a half older than you was never easy, especially for the younger person. People judged you were ever you went, old men thought you’d want them, parents thought your partner was a pervert and the lost goes on and on. So your relationship with Natasha was always hunted by your insecurities. She, of course, knew of them and often tried to explain that your age didn’t matter as you were an adult that could handle life pretty well.
Today you two went to a cafe to spend some time together which quickly ended when Natasha flirted with the barista that was around her age. Angry and hurt you told her that you want to leave before putting down some money and leaving, Natasha hurrying to follow you.
“What the hell was that?” Nat asked when you stepped into your room in the compound. “You’re asking me, I should ask you!” You told her while pulling off your jacket and throwing it over a chair. “what did I do? You were being rude without any reason” she argued causing you to scoff. “Without any reason? YOU were flirting with her! While I was next to you” the discussion quickly got heated.
“Oh please, I wasn’t flirting I was being nice” she dismissed you which made you even angrier. “You weren’t just being nice, I bet she thought she has a chance with you” now it was her time to scoff before mumbling “maybe she wouldn’t act so childish”. “What did you just say?” You asked and she repeated it louder and added “I don’t know if it’s like a people your age thing to act this childish but you’re acting like a jealous bitch and it’s annoying. Like grow up, I’m gonna talk do different people”.
You freezes a moment before it hit you, anger, sadness, disbelief, guilt all together causing tears to well up in your eyes. You didn’t want to give her the satisfaction of seeing you cry, as it would made you look like a child, and quickly left the room slamming the door behind you.
Natasha was just as shocked about her words as you were, sure she thought you overreacted but it also made her think that you don’t trust her, which hurt her and she just snapped at that. Was what she said true? Hell no, you grew up quicker than you should have as you had a terrible family.
You immediately walked to Tony’s lab, he was like a big brother and always looked out for you. “Tons” you mumbled as you entered the room and threw yourself onto the couch he had placed there for you. “Ahhh, my favorite person, check this out” he said happily while trying to show you something but you clearly weren’t in the mood. “Don’t feel like it” he finally turned around to see you silently crying on his couch. Rushing over to you with some tissues in hand to comfort you.
“What happened? Did you get hurt?” He asked trying to check for any wounds. “Natasha” you whispered after 20 minutes of sobbing. “Romanoff” he grumbled before standing up, by now you were half asleep on that couch, assuming that he was going back to work.
In reality Tony was on his way to find the redhead that dared to break your heart. He threw open the door to her room causing her to jump up and turn to the door. “What did you do?” He asked while stomping towards her, “she’s crying in my lab, so do not dare and say that you didn’t do anything because I will throw you out of the team if you’re lying or hurt her” he added when she opened her mouth.
“We were at a cafe and the barista flirted with me and she thought I was flirting back which caused us to fight and then it escalated and I said terrible things, I told her that she was childish” Natasha rambled as the guilt was eating her up. “You told her what?” He screamed as he was now more than angry, knowing about your insecurities. “What were you thinking? That girl loves you so damn much and all you do is break her heart and use her insecurities against her” now she had tears welling up in her eyes. “I regret it more than anything, where is she? Please I have to talk to her” she begged. “Do it after dinner”
Once a month you had a big team dinner and that was tonight. As much as you didn’t want to go you didn’t want to disappoint the others and let’s just say you shocked everyone that night.
You were the last one downstairs and when you entered Sams and buckys mouth dropped, Wanda was clearly checking you out and Carol whistled. You came downstairs in a black mid-thigh long dress, lots of makeup and a bun that made you look much older than you actually were.
“Wow, what happened to you Y/N?” Yelena asked you as you sat down next to you. “I just wanted to feel good tonight” you told her before calling out for Tony to bring you a drink. Yelena was confused but hey what was she supposed to do?
Throughout the whole dinner the team noticed your behavior that was clearly different. “I’ll get something to drink, does one of you want me to bring them another drink?”
When you were in the kitchen Steve spoke up, “she’s acting different right? Is she alright Romanoff?” Steve asked her causing all the heads to turn to her. “Yeah is she Romanoff?” Tony said sarcastically causing her to push the chair back and walk into the kitchen.
“Miss Romanoff, what can I do for you?” You asked her while pouring in your drink. “Quit that, I just wanna talk about earlier, please. I have so much to tell you” she walked closer to you her hands slowly making their way to your waist, giving to enough time to pull away. But as much as you hated it, you could really need her comfort. “Fine, talk” you still decided to give her the cold shoulder.
“I didn’t mean what I said, I was hurt because I thought you didn’t trust me and I got defensive. It was stupid and useless, I should have openly talked about it with you but sometimes I still struggle to do so. But the most important thing is, that I love you the way you are, you’re so grown up with this cute, soft, kind side that I never want you to lose. I’ll do anything to make it up to you as long as you go back to being my love” she told you with so many feelings that you couldn’t help but pull her closer to hug you.
“I will give you another chance, but only because I love you” you told her causing her to squeeze you tighter and pull away to kiss you. The kiss was full of passion and you quickly reciprocate the kiss. Both of you forgot everything around you as she picked you up to set you on the counter as you were making out. You only stopped when someone cleared their throat quickly pulling away to see a deep red Bruce running out of the kitchen.
“As good as you look in that dress, what do we think about joggers, hoodies and Gilmore girls?” She asked you causing you to jump of the counter to grab her hand and pull her away to your room. While passing trough the dinning room you both mumbled goodbyes.
You were cuddled up in bed watching Gilmore girls, Nat curling into your side her head on your chest. “I promise to never hurt you again” she mumbled into your chest. “I know you won’t baby” you kissed her head and stroked her thigh with one of your hands. “I love the moments when we are childish together, the tickle fights, the pillow fights and everything’s else, you showed me so much that I missed and I’m really happy about that” she explained tracing your abs with her fingers. “Thank you for apologizing” you pecked her lips a couple of times before pulling her closer to fall asleep. That day did in fact exhausted you

This is legit stuck in my mind so here's a small snippet:
!!!!TW: CHILD LOSS, IMPLIED SEXUAL CONTENT!!!
Reiko knows both women are dangerous. The younger one - she's from his timeline - is prone to sudden mood swings, unpredictable and her subtle manipulation tactics fooled even the Fire God. They are all aware but they can never tell when she does it. Blue eyes full of youthful mischief, becoming crazed when fight, a battle, mindless bloodshed is near.
And yet, it is none of those things that are dangerous, it is the innocence, his Valeria still has, despite everything that happened and what she knows - what was, what is and what will be.
Looking up at the sky, searching for a threat that is not coming, waking up violently from a nightmarish memory, screaming that everything is consumed by fire, yet nothing is burning, always looking for something, asking about invisible threats. She's on edge around certain people, eyes flicking around the room, calculating.
Reiko knew that something is wrong when Valeria would rather jump into the embrace of Havik, than Raiden.
But it doesn't stop her from jumping trough foliage, disappearing for long periods of times into the forest, returning at sunset dirty from mud. She's playing tag with Reptile and Smoke, giggling like a small girl who knows no horror in the world.
His Valeria is young and innocent, yet is troubled and suffering.
Fire God Liu Kang, Reiko thinks bitterly, failed more people than he helped.
The..other Valeria, from different Timeline, is older, wiser and veteran in combat.
Her loyalty to the ones she loves is unwavering and Reiko respects that. She's a fighter, a warrior and rarely loses a fight - wiped the floor with all of them in 'training'. But what makes her dangerous isn't her fighting proves, her strength or swordsmanship. It's the way she can read people, take them apart with words and gestures.
It was an accident when Reiko first saw it, Valeria cornered one of the Lin Kuei - Bi-Han, the Grandmaster - he was leaning away from her touch, yet did not push her away or strike her for her insolence - then she's asking about his family, his father, brothers, mother, sister and Bi-Han tells nothing, until she's smoothing hair out of his face, taking off his mask, cooing softly, like a mother at his son and she's pulling him into a hug and he breaks. They sink to the ground and Reiko can't see if Bi-Han is crying or not, Valeria curling around him like a mother around her son, her brown hair a shielding curtain.
Reiko prides himself in knowing his general, the warriors who raised him - and one night proves him wrong.
Valeria and General Shao are keeping watch and she asks him about his child. "Son or a daughter?"
"The only one I could ever consider a son would be my second in command." Reiko's heart swels with pride but he does not dare to let them know he's aware.
"What about the ghost you see every time you step into the palace, yearning for life that was snatched away from you the moment your child was born?"
General Shao is silent, Valeria presses on. "It was a girl, wasn't it? A daughter. Behind your constructed walls, there is a certain softness that fathers have once their daughters are born."
General Shao sighs and shifts and Reiko can't tell what is going on with his general. "I wanted to have a family. There...was a woman. Who went against the system. We wanted our little family but the Empress was not kind. Snatched our daughter away the moment she was born. Didn't even let us hold her."
"Where were you?"
"Deployed. Far away."
"What happened to your love?"
"Grief killed her."
Reiko's heart clenches, painful and he wants to get up and march back into the Royal Gardens and murder Empress Sindel with his bare hands. Her daughters too if it comes to it. Or not. Kill her daughters and let her experience the grief that many parents had that had their daughters snatched away the moment they were born.
There's more shifting and he can hear his General inhale sharply. "It never goes away, does it? The pain. The want for a family. A normal life. It consumes us, until it destroys us."
"You know awfully lot, woman."
"I'm a mother of three myself , General Shao. Although I know....one of my children is safe and sound as much as she can be, I lost my two firstborns. Twins."
There's another beat of silence and more shuffling. Reiko is afraid to open his eyes in fear what he could see.
"If I could, I would carry your child."
She's dangerous because she takes people apart, studying them closely in what makes them tick and she's gentle, oh so gentle in what she does, knows that if she does one wrong move, they'll fall apart.
It's the way she moves above him, gently rolling her hips, gentle, experienced fingers running over his chest - he's gasping as if there's not enough air in his lungs, tears gathering at the corner of his eyes and when they spill, she wipes them away.
Valeria is cooing and singing praise but even she couldn't resist the pleasure, soft sounds escaping her, body arched and he can't help the sob that escapes him, finding his release. Valeria is gentle as she cleaned him up, peppering him with gentle kisses.
Reiko feels like he betrayed General Shao.
This Valeria is more dangerous than his Valeria.
Brown eyes have no guild in them, arms crossed, acting as if nothing has happened, as if just a hallway down, there isn't an Earthrealmer writhing in pain, the Dragon Lord being sealed away in the mortal's chest.
Her two companions aren't any better, the Shadow being ice cold as usual, the older actor - by the Elder Gods how could he let this happen? - there's a little bit of guild but otherwise, nothing.
Fire God is the one who leads Valeria away, wanting to discuss urgent matters, it is only then that Reiko approaches the older actor - he notes that they are not very different, this Johnny Cage is juts older and more mature.
"Why?"
And he smiles, melancholy in his eyes and Reiko sees how tired he is. "I got used to it too. Onaga is no longer screaming in my head. He's easier to bear now."
And Reiko wants to know more, so he asks again, even though he shouldn't. "Why?"
"It proved to work before. Why wouldn't she try again?"
And Reiko's blood runs cold - they all fell into her trap, carefully woven cobweb of motherly love, gentleness and everything and Reiko prays to every other God if they are out there - do not let his Valeria become whatever this woman is, otherwise they all will be in even greater danger than they are now.
(If anyone has any questions and something to say, don't be afraid to hit me up in my inbox)

But as he's fighting, the bird isn't really trying to hurt him- just grab him, which is admittedly difficult with the kid swinging the Master Sword at it, but eventually it manages and takes Link up.
2- Upon being deposited in the broken ship atop the fortress, Link quickly learns that the Master Sword will not bring down Ganondorf- who corrects him on the name- and doesn't even seem to touch him. Instead of explaining why, Ganondorf sits down and pats the floor, and begins using one of his secret skills: lying. Ganondorf is like "look, boy, I don't know who told you that old sword would kill me, or how you even found it, but they were using you. Was it those pirates? You should stop trusting people who shoot you out of cannons." Link is offended on the King of Red Lions and Tetra's behalfs, and his reaction tells Ganondorf enough.
3- "Ah, well, I suppose I can respect that. You know, long ago my people kept a fortress not in a sea, but a desert. Some hylians, fleeing the civil war or their kings' cruelty, would make it though the desert. Those who could survive that were granted protection, and those who could break into our fort were welcomed as warriors into our tribe. Not the first time they did, but if they continued trying after that first failure." Link is like "uh huh" and only half paying attention because he's trying to figure out if Tetra got all the girls out before he books it himself.
4- he does start paying attention when Ganondorf then says, "Welcome to the Gerudo tribe, vevko." At Link's confusion, Ganondorf just asks "Well, as the newest son of the Gerudo, who else could be your parent but me?" Link then has many protests, some about his grandmother but most about his sister, and Ganondorf nods. "I will let you decide then, if you agree to stay. Will your sister stay here with us, or would you send her away?" Link just wants Aryll safe at home, so Ganondorf nods and the Helmaroc King goes to frighten Tetra and Aryll to the ship, as the younger girl was trying to run to her brother instead of following the pirate. Ganondorf says it's very wise of Link, sending Aryll away means she can return to be welcomed into the tribe as well, as a warrior sister. Link does not want his little sister in danger or fighting at all, and Ganondorf recommends he get over that, because as much as he once felt the same about his kinswomen, reality demands more. The Ganondorf claps him on the shoulder and orders a few monsters to start helping prepare a proper child's room, discussing how they're going to get to get Link into some proper clothes, and eat some real food, because he can't imagine a child ate all that well on his own. Link protests that he's of age, and wears the hero clothes as custom. Ganondorf is like "hmm yeah no twelve is not adulthood, let's go vevko." and ignores Link's five attempts to attack him as he figures out a room situation for the kid.
5- Ganondorf's motivations are not as pure as he claims, as always. He does feel some gratitude for Link drawing the Master Sword and unsealing his full power, while also being sure the boy himself isn't a threat as the Sword didn't have the power it did in the hands of a true hero. Keeping the boy and the sword here might draw the Princess and the Real hero out, however, allowing him to collect the Triforce. Especially since the "collect children" plan didn't work, so the current daughter of the royal family might be an adult and harder to narrow down. Also, the kid genuinely impressed him with his breaking and entering skills and doing all of that for his little sister, so it's not like it's babysitting some crying brat all day. The Ritos', Valoo's, and pirates' attempts to get him away or hurt so they can grab Link also make Ganondorf dig his stubborn heels in: this crazy kid is his vevko now, if they wanted him they should have done better with the sword situation.
#vev= child. vevev= baby. vevhi= daughter. vevko= son.#Ganondorf IS going to try a lot of telling history from his current side (you know where he doesn't admit to using mind control on the#Gerudo who didn't want to go to war and didn't share his temporary wins to enrich his whole people just. got a lava moat installed at his#new castle)#but also with some very fair digs at the hylian crown and everything else going on there#however uh toin coss if Link is ever actually listening to him or just planning the next escape attempt#pocket talks to people#anon#ask game#hey quick question why was Ganondorf only kidnapping hylian girls when looking for the princess like#doesnt he remember the whole 'hiding as sheik' thing even if hes got some gerudo assumptions about how often girls are born into that line#well. if they are assumptions. considering Hylia the ratio could very well not be a average 1:1. but STILL even if 90% of royals are#princesses named Zelda. the whole Sheik thing!#anyway tangent over

which detail scares you more?
A long time ago when i was about 5 or 6 years old.
I was a little different than other kids in that I had anger issues, i guess it was intermittent explosive disorder? It's not that i'm affected by watching anything violent, i like math cartoons, sure you can check my youtube history, me and my parents both don't understand why i'm like that. Anyway, not to say much about me, at that time my grandparents and I went to the countryside in ***. Welcome us is one of my relatives, my uncle, he is a kind farmer. But unfortunately, his son is a brat. He is small but likes to bully other kids, quite violent with younger kids if they don't listen, fight over their things. but he is a bit scared of me because I have a big body. but that didn't stop him from being mean to me. after lunch, me and the kids were hanging around that place until that kid showed up. well i'll just say that i'm a truth-loving kid, i don't like to joke or lie, i always respect the truth even when it's hard.
"hey i'm taller than you
no you're raising your hand
nuh uh you just don't like being shorter
i repeat, it's because you raised your hand
and? admit it you're just too short, you're afraid you're too short?
why you little..."
like i said i have anger problems i punched him and he fell on the small makeshift bridge, if he fell straight into the river he would have been slightly injured but... that didn't happen
He fell and hit his head on the exposed rock edge of the bridge and fell straight down, and you know what, I don't know who threw the trash in the river but there was a lot of glass in the river so it got stuck in his body and he died right in front of us. The other kids were so scared that they were screaming and crying.
"if one of you screams or cries, you'll be next"
I don't know why at that time, I was so calm, I just didn't feel guilty, I just felt...
enjoying getting rid of something unpleasant...
''sorry, i didn't mean it, forgive me...''
''you know, it's not our fault or my fault, listen, it's his fault, he was the one who started it and he was just scared of me and backed away and slipped, and it's not our fault, he died, because someone was littering and he fell there, tell that to the elders, you don't want to get in trouble right?''
"yeah...you're right it's not our fault..." one of them calmed down and said
we turned around and told the adults about the accident
when the adults went to the river, his parents cried, the adults looked at us, especially me, because the other kids looked very scared, even the kid who had calmed down a bit started crying again, but me didn't I just looked at the body with emotionless eyes.
I don't know what I was thinking at that time but I felt a voice saying
"behave normally, don't be too different from others, it won't be good for you"
then I hugged my grandfather's hand and buried my face in it
"try..."
"don't worry, it's not your fault..."
it was enough to distract those people.
My parents didn't let me stay to attend that kid's funeral. But time passed when my grandparents came back after the funeral
my grandfather told me to go to the room to talk to my parents privately, i didn't listen and hid and eavesdropped on the stairs.
He said after I returned to the city, the funeral started but something happened right after that, right on the night of the kid's funeral, his father came back and was drunk, my grandfather realized it and was about to go out to help him, but then he stopped. Through the window, he saw a child from the river where the child fell, the child looked wet and swollen, the skin was pale and the eyes were white.
"Dad, I'm so cold... Dad, warm me up..."
The voice was cold, but to a drunk man, it was just the sweet voice of his little son calling.
He walked straight to the riverbank and muttered son, my son, then he and the child disappeared into the river
Time passed by 1 year later, my grandfather received a message that his younger brother, my uncle's father and the little child's grandfather, had died in the same river
I wondered if I stayed for the funeral, who would that child come for?
