bonjour >:) requests are open, and thus i am requesting leona, vil (aster is converting me how dare) and idia (again, i am being converted) with a s/o who drags them out to buy matching outfits and accidentally revealing their secret relationship?
it’s just an outfit
ft. leona kingscholar, vil schoenheit, idia shroud summary: even with the attempt to hide their identity, your boyfriend is noticed in public shopping with you warnings: invasion of privacy via paparazzi, use of they/them pronouns for reader (idia)
Tumblr media
leona kingscholar  He seemed so nonchalant about it, only opting to wear a hat and insisting no one would care what a second-born prince was doing buying matching outfits with another person.  He seemed to be correct on that matter until five minutes after you got back to his dorm to lay down.  After changing into your couple’s black and yellow loungewear, messages began to flood your phone from your friends. Links to dozens of articles claiming to have the scoop on Leona Kingscholar's new relationship.  "‘Sunset Savanna Royalty Seen Shopping with Mystery Person. Could This Be a Budding New Romance?’” Leona read one of the titles over your shoulder, throwing in sarcastically shocked tone.  You glared at him as you turned to face him before your face fell in worry. "What if this…changes things between us? Since everyone practically knows now."  "I don’t think this changes anything between us. Not to me, anyway. We just don't have to sneak around anymore." He paused to rest a hand on your cheek. "You’re still okay being mine, right?"  You nodded. "Of course I am."  "That’s all that matters to me, love." Leona threw his arm over your shoulders to bring you closer to his chest, not missing the chance to leave a kiss on your forehead before continuing your impromptu nap.
vil schoenheit  It was his idea to both wear masks to reduce the possibility of being recognized. He was even smart enough to style his hair differently than usual.  Needless to say, Vil had a lot of experience trying to avoid paparazzi as one of the most famous teenagers in twisted wonderland.  You had insisted on going out and getting matching outfits despite your relationship not being public yet, he agreed but not without a warning of how overwhelming it could become if someone recognized him in public.  "It's no big deal, I can handle it," you told him.  "As long as you're confident, my dear."   The trip was going fairly well, you had picked out matching peacoats that would help keep you warm in the cold temperatures. It was when you were looking at sweaters that a fan of his recognized him and noticed your close proximity to each other.  Before you knew it, pictures were being taken as Vil took your hand to lead you away, tsking at the misplaced enthusiasm the public had for him. Once you were sure you were alone he turned to hold you.  "I apologize for the scene, I hope it wasn't too much for you."  "I'm sorry for dragging you out here." You glanced the ground. "People will probably start harassing you about being in a relationship now."  "I knew the risks before entering a relationship with you." He tilted your head up to look at you properly. "I don't mind at all, because now I'm able to be open about the fondness I hold for you."
idia shroud  It’s not like you were actively keeping your relationship a secret, it just hadn’t come up in conversation yet. Most of the time you and Idia spent together was either on voice call or playing games in his room.  You had asked him a few times if he’d be willing to go with you to get matching outfits. It never mattered what it was, just as long as you matched with him. One weekend he finally found the courage to go to the mall with you, as long as he could keep his hood up and face down the entire time.  You were almost jumping with joy at the prospect of getting your introvert boyfriend to do something he would've never done before meeting you. Yes he had stipulations, but you were just glad to have this bonding opportunity with him.  Idia quickly steered you towards the back section of a store that he claimed had "everything an otaku would ever want." You passed walls of shirts for every anime, video game, and vocaloid you'd ever heard of, and then some.  That's exactly when he spotted two students he shared occasional classes with. Said students noticed him back, saw how he looked at you with panic, and quickly connected the dots.  "Well if they're standing that close to Idia Shroud..."  "Exactly what I was thinking, they've got to be special to him for that kind of privilege."  You didn't get to hear the rest of the conversation as Idia dragged you out of said "otaku heaven," mumbling something about finding merch online instead.

a/n: sorry that leona's is a bit shorter, i tried to mix up each scenario the best i could m.list & rules

Part 1 - The Farmer's Daughter
Tumblr media
*Ring* *Ring* *Ring*
"Hi! I'm not able to answer the phone right now or I don't have service. If you leave a message, I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can!"
Your voice sounds so cheerful, so happy in the message the blonde listened to, his phone pressed against his ear in a hope that you might pick up.
A harsh tone sounds out, and he opens his mouth to speak, but no words seem to come out. A sigh falls from his lips as he pulls the phone away from his head, clicking the "end call" button before pressing the screen to his forehead, his eyes fluttering closed.
Fuck. It was bad.
Jake knew things wouldn't be the same when he came home. He knew he would have been naive to think you'd be happy to see him after all this time.
But man, it hurt him more than he thought to see how you toughened after he left. To see that your eyes didn't hold the same soft, (colored) glow that they used to.
You looked worn, and Jake knew he was likely the reason behind the tired and cold look on your face. Oh, how he missed it when you shone like the sun, even on the iciest day, you were a beam of light.
Now? Now you had hardened your shell, shut the world out from your heart. The very one he had crushed and shattered when he left. And that's why he was back. To fix it.
Tumblr media
"Another call from Jake?" your friend, Mary Anne, called out as she finished untacking her horse. You were standing in the doorway to the tack area, phone in hand.
You had watched Jake's name flash across your screen, the contact picture one you had taken up on Thraller's Ridge, your favorite place to watch the sunset. And rightfully so, it was a picture of Jake on Sandy, the sun casting his features in soft pinks and yellows.
You had just cracked a joke, and there was a laugh on his lips as he had turned to look at you, his Stetson just barely shadowing his face. It was such a genuine moment, it showed how domestic your relationship had been. How down-to-earth Jake had been.
A hiccup catches in your throat as you click your phone off, not wanting to see if he left a voicemail or not. You turn back to Mary Anne and shrug, "Nothing important."
Your friend swings past you, her saddle in tow as she sets it on a rack behind you. Then, Mary Anne turns on you, placing a hand on her hip and then she cocks her head.
"Y/n, just answer him. Hear him out. I know you still love him, he was your fiance for a reason," she tries, waving her hands at the end of her sentence.
You close your eyes and swallow thickly before stating, "Mary Anne, he left me. For 6 months. No warning. No reason. No calls or texts. It seemed pretty obvious he didn't want me anymore."
Your eyes flicker back open, but now Mary Anne is standing in front of you, a sad smile drawn across her lips. She places her hands on your shoulders and she replies, "So don't you think now is the chance to hear why?"
She leaves you with that, sliding back into the hallway to put her horse back out to pasture. You watch her go in silence, your heart aching at the thought of talking to Jake again.
Just as you take a step to check on your own horse, your phone buzzes.
Please, Y/n/n. I know I fucked up, and I have no right to ask this. But please hear me out, okay? You know where to find me. -J
Your eyes skim the text, tripping over themselves and having to go back and reread the message. Damn right you fucked up, you think to yourself as you pocket your phone.
But... maybe Mary Anne was right? You walk off and shake your head, trying to clear your thoughts. As you glance at your friend walking her horse out of the barn aisle, you catch sight of Sandy out in the pasture, her yellow face hanging just above the gate, looking at you.
You sigh and walk up to her, your boots scraping the ground as you approach your mare. She sneezes as you stop in front of her, and you can't help the smile that creeps onto your face.
"I know, girl," you mumble as you brush her forehead with your hands, "It sounds like a trap to me. I don't want to be heartbroken again." Sandy leans into your hand, closing her eyes and scratching against your fingers.
A chuckle falls from your lips as you love on her, but you freeze as a memory overtakes you.
Tumblr media
"Are you sure about this?" Jake asks as he grabs the reins of Sandy, looking the mare up and down before glancing at you, "You know, I easily could have loaded up Blue and brought him over."
You wave your hand at him dismissively as you grab Henry's reins for yourself, "It's alright, babe. I want to watch someone ride her anyway." You gave him a sweet smile as you started walking down the barn aisle, patting Henry's brown neck as you move.
Jake just chuckles at you as you turn around, and he's not one to fight you on the matter of horses. He knew your mare was special to you, and that no one rode her except for you. He honestly felt honored that you were comfortable enough to allow to him ride her.
"Alright girl," he starts as he turns back to Sandy, "Let's go whoop your momma's ass, alright?" Sandy just snorts as Jake leads her after you, grinning wide as he watches your figure freeze and whip around.
Your features are covered in mock anger, with your mouth dropped open as you exclaim, "Excuse me?! I'll have you know, Henry is our local rodeo heading hall of fame-r!"
At that, your hands land on your hips sassily, and you glare playfully at the blonde cowboy as he walks up next to you. You hold his green gaze as he leans down and over you, filling up your space.
Jake leans down and smirks at you before he swats his rein toward your butt with a, "C'mon, cowgirl. Show me what you're made of."
Tumblr media
A tear was sliding down your cheek before you could stop it, and you look down, brushing the tear away while you stepped back from Sandy. You glance back up at her and let out a pathetic laugh, trying to will the overwhelming sadness away.
"Oh, Sandy. What do I do?" you whisper, watching your mare take a few steps back before turning to join the other mares by the hay hut. As you follow her figure walking away, you know what you need to do.
You sigh and clench your fists as you walk back toward the barn, where Mary Anne is waiting. You walk past her, trying to keep your chin up, but she knows you better than that.
"Good luck, Y/n/n," she calls after you, "Try to keep a level head, okay?" You just wave your hand in acknowledgment as you continue on your way to your '71 Chevy Cheyenne Fleetside, the tan and white of the truck aged with time.
You slide into the single cab, resting your hands on the wheel. You pause for a moment, trying to steel your nerves before you reach down and start the ignition.
Pulling out of your driveway was the hardest part of heading to where you knew you'd find Jake. Turning left out of your home, the red dirt road that led you to Jake's farm was quiet.
There was no one in sight as you cruised down the backroad, driving down the hollers and up the hills that you knew like the back of your hand. You couldn't bring yourself to turn any music on, instead choosing to stew in your thoughts and what you would say to the man you loved.
Loved? Still love?
It was an ongoing battle in your mind. There was never anyone else, even after all this time. No thought of accepting a guy's flirty comment for dinner, not even going out for drinks with your girls.
It had been a lonely and hard 6 months full of heartbreak and work, There was no time to cope with Jake leaving, and there sure as hell wasn't time to find someone else.
That was the last thought you were left with as you pulled into the driveway of a large ranch you had spent countless hours at. There wasn't anyone around that you could see, which made your heart skip a beat in your chest.
You turn the key in your truck, the engine settling down as you glanced out around the front yard. A few chickens pecked the ground just outside of one of the shops, but the door was closed.
You pause for a moment, questioning if you were really going to follow through. You aren't given much of a choice when a set of fluffy ears pops up in your window, and you are greeted by the happy face of Nyla, the German Shepard.
A smile falls to your lips as you call out, "Down girl, easy, easy!" A few giggles follow suit, and you open to door, crouching on the ground to rub on the belly of the old dog.
Her tail wags happily as you scratch her belly and her ears, her whole body trying its best to wriggle like she used to as a pup. You can't help the wide smile on your face as Nyla jumps up and starts trying to lick your face, seemingly having missed you.
You can't stop the laughter as the dog lovingly assaults you, but they soon become silent at the deep call of, "Nyla! Nyla, come here!"
You freeze at the voice. It was one you knew all too well, one that you knew like the back of your hand. The dog leaves you alone, her tail dropping slightly as she trotted off to the edge of the front porch.
Standing on the top step on the wrap-around porch was Jake. All six feet of glory, donning a leather jacket and a ball cap, he looked good. Boots and jeans were his go to, and you can't help the way your mouth goes dry at the sight of him.
He leans down to pet her on the head as she stops and sits next to him, and you clear your throat as you push yourself up off the ground. I bet he saw that whole thing. Shit, you think to yourself as you avert your gaze from him.
The next thing you know, Jake is walking down the steps, heading straight for you. His boots make the gravel under him crunch, and you can't help the step you take back to lean against your truck.
Even the way he walks is different, you think as he strides toward you, It's... more calculated than it used to be. He doesn't walk like a cowboy now.
Jake stops a few feet in front of you, giving you plenty of space. Jade-colored orbs flash over your body, noting the flannel that covered your upper body, and the grey-felt hat that covered your (colored) hair.
"You came," he says. It's simple and to the point. There was no trace of emotion in his voice, but it was written all over his face. A slight curve to his lips, just the hint of a smile. Not a frown, but the smallest glimmer of hope simmering in his eyes.
You nod, unsure of what to say. You shuffle on your feet as you glance down at your boots, kicking a small rock and watching it roll away.
"I did," you whisper, your eyes making their own decision to look back at the tall blonde. Jake takes a step forward, his hand coming up toward your face, but you flinch and flatten against the door of your truck, your head turning away, eyes snapping shut.
You gasp under your breath, not even realizing how your body moved instinctively away from him. When you turn back to Jake, you see hurt written all over his features, and pain in his eyes.
His hand drops back to his side and clenches into a fist. He swallows thickly and says, "I-I'm sorry, Y/n/n-" "You don't have the right to call me that anymore," you snarl out.
This catches his attention, and he blinks at you slowly, another wave of pain rushing over his features. Yet he nods once and restarts, "Sorry. Can we- can we go inside and talk about this?"
You feel a wave of heat overtake you at the harshness of your words, and you remember what Mary Anne told you before you left, Try to keep a level head.
You clear your throat and shake your head, "I'd prefer if we stayed outside." Jake nods again and motions toward the small pond that was on the side of the driveway.
"The dock alright?" he asks as he takes a step back, and he watches you for any hesitation as you give him a nod and walk in front of him, your arms crossing over your chest.
The pond was one of your favorite places about Jake's farm. Many late nights he had brought you out here under the stars, casting a line for the small fish that lived in it.
Stolen kisses, borrowed jackets. It seemed like a lifetime ago, the thought hits you. Your feet pause at the end of the dock, and you find yourself sitting down, letting your feet dangle above the water.
Jake mirrors you, sitting on the other edge of the dock, leaving a foot or two of space between you and him. It's silent. The evening was upon you, and the sun just barely was setting over the distant mountain.
There were some chirps from the crickets in the grasses around the pond, but it wasn't quite summer, so things cooled off when the sun went down.
You fold your arms over your chest, and you glance at him, taking in his features now that you were close. Hardened eyes, firm features. He looked weathered, not like the lively and carefree Jake you knew.
"What happened?" you whisper, your voice just barely cutting above the breeze blowing through, your hair swirling around you underneath your hat.
Jake swallows thickly before speaking, his gaze rigid on the edge of the water. "I had to leave," he starts. His hand reaches for a small pile of rocks near the end post of the dock.
One rock at a time, he skips them across the surface of the water with practiced ease. It made you think of a memory, but you push it down as you try to focus on him at the moment.
"Why?"
Tumblr media
It seemed to be the age-old question. Why did he leave? He should have been able to spit it out, to tell you the reason, but he felt ashamed at the reality of what your response would be.
He doesn't answer you for a second, his left hand coming to grip the wooden edge of the dock firmly. Jake's knuckles go white, and you can see him almost dissociate.
In a moment of bravery, you reach your right hand out, letting your fingers rest on his own. His gaze immediately snaps over to you, and when the light of the sun hits his eyes, you see it.
Tears. Tears gathered in his eyes, and he looked scared. Everything in your body screamed at you to stay back, get away, he'll only hurt you in the end.
But you knew Jake, and even if he changed, his core needs never did. You lean forward, and you pull him into your arms, into a hug. He stiffens under your touch, his arms going rigid as you hold him.
He curses himself for being so weak, so vulnerable in front of you, especially when you came here to hear him out, not comfort him.
"Sorry," he says again, and you pull back at the sound of his voice. Jake reaches up and brushes the tear out of his eye and he mutters, "You never should have to see me like this."
Your gaze softens and you reply, "And yet I promised you I'd stay by your side through everything." Jake looks at you, and he swears he could sob at the way you're looking at him.
You're still the same girl he fell in love with years ago, and with the way you're looking at him, he thinks you never stopped.
He takes a deep breath to ground himself before he starts, "I didn't leave because I didn't want to marry you, or because I didn't love you."
He looks deep into your eyes and whispers, "God, I loved you back then. I love you even more now." A wave of butterflies comes over you at his confession, but you stay silent, urging him to continue.
Jake looks back toward the edge of the water before he continues, "I was drafted. I was pulled to join the aviators of the Navy in California."
You still at his words, your mouth falling open as you blink in shock. Jake laughs icily as he watches a fish come up to the surface to catch a mosquito, and then continues, "I was going to be the whole way across the country, with people I'd never met, away from you for who knows how long."
You can feel your own tears burn in your eyes and you mumble, "Jake..." But he's not done and pushes, "I'd never wanted to be a pilot, Y/n. All I ever wanted to do was marry you, have a family and kids, and run my old man's farm."
His words and voice are intense, close to breaking, but he states, "I knew I could be gone for years. Killed overseas. I couldn't put you through that, so I had to become the best damn pilot they ever saw."
You can't stop the strangled gasp from leaving your lips, and you lunge forward, your body working faster than your mind. Tears stream from your eyes as you slap him, your palm making contact with his ever-so-slightly stubbly cheek.
His head recoils away, and his eyes shut as you whack him with you hands. "You asshole!" you yell, tears blurring your vision, you lean forward and crush him into a hug.
Jake didn't know how to respond, so he opted for one hand on your waist. His cheek was stinging from the impact of your slap, but he knew he deserved it.
What he didn't understand was why you were hugging him.
After all this time, his dumb explanation and reasoning, and you were hugging him? A sob pushes through your lips, and Jake feels his heart splinter at the raw emotion in your cry.
He wraps his arms around you tightly, thinking to himself that you could punch him, slap him, kick him in a minute- but he'd try his damn best to comfort you right now.
"You asshole," you manage to choke out, "6 months of leaving me with nothing, just because you got drafted?" Jake closes his eyes and squeezes you tighter, trying to commit your body to his memory before you pulled away.
"Jake. Jake. Jay," you say, the desperation in your voice growing with each call of his name. You try to push him off of you, and he lets go of you a moment later.
Your hand comes up to cradle the cheek you slapped, the skin still red from the impact of your hand. You can tell he's unsure, and nervous about what you're going to say.
There's raw fear in his green eyes, and you knew in a minute you could crush him. But you couldn't do that.
You let your palm rest on his cheek, the other moving to push the baseball cap from his head, setting it on the dock behind you two. With one hand on his cheek, and the other at the base of his neck, you stare at the man in front of you.
Suddenly, it all makes sense. His larger, stronger physique. Training in the military, always working out to stay fit. The hardened look in his eye. Getting used to taking orders and following them without question. His shortened hair and clean-shaven face. The need to remain sharp-looking at all times when in uniform.
"Oh, Jake," you whisper, a tear streaming from your eye. Jake reaches up with his own hand, cupping your face and brushing the tear away gently.
"Why would you ever leave and not tell me you got drafted?" you ask, your voice open and vulnerable. He sighs in your hands, his free hand coming up to cover your own lithe fingers.
"I was afraid you wouldn't want me anymore, and I didn't think I could handle you saying that to my face. So I made the choice for you," he says slowly, "I know it was stupid, but," and he pauses.
He looks deep into your (colored) eyes and states, "But leaving while I knew you still loved me was a better option than having to leave and knowing you didn't."
A hiccup takes over you and you whisper, "Jake, I haven't stopped." He freezes at that, his grip tightening on your hand holding his face.
"Say it again."
A small smile creeps onto your lips and you whisper, "Jake, I still love you." Jake's features then begin to mirror your own, a watery smile coming across his mouth as he replies, "I still love you too. That's why I came to find you on the ranch a while back."
You just shake your head and mutter, "Stop with the excuses, okay?" Jake feels a pang of nerves run over him again, unsure of your next move.
"Well, cowboy, are you gonna kiss me or not?" The words barely leave your mouth before he captures your lips with his own.
He tastes just like you remember, sweet yet cool like the peppermint gum he would always chew. His mouth was warm against your own, wet from saliva and the shine of his tears.
It's a sweet and salty kiss, the tang of peppermint accompanied by the mix of salty tears from both of you. It was perfect.
Jake's mouth moves against yours in a practiced rhythm like he never left, his hand moving from grasping your own to moving to your back, dragging you into his lap.
Every movement was needy, grasping hands, clashing teeth. You accidentally bit his lip, his fingers might have gotten stuck in your hair when he pushed your hat off.
Everything about his movements screamed I missed you. I love you. Please tell me you're still mine. Your body was no different- I have always missed you. I loved you while you were gone. I'll always be yours.
Jake's the one to pull away and he whispers against your lips, "Please tell me there wasn't anyone else." You lean in and press a hard peck on his mouth and you mutter back, "It was only ever you, cowboy."

🍒 Word count: 2.9k
🍒 CWs: mentions of food and eating reader included
The grass felt sticky and uncomfortable under your crossed legs, and when you swiped your hand against the skin, you could feel the indentation from the blades. Your knee-high socks felt itchy too; everything felt itchy. Even the cotton of your shirt felt like it was suffocating, and the bow tied around your neck which hung loosely should have hung even looser.
To distract yourself, you plucked up the blades of green and tied them into knots absentmindedly. It was easier to pay attention to your idle hands compared to paying attention to her.
Could she even tell that you were looking? Could she see out of the corner of her eye when she threw her cotton-candy pink hair behind her ear? Could she tell that you watched as she gulped down the lemonade and caught a glance at the peachy fuzz of her neck exposed by her collar?
Stop looking. Stop looking.
Your other friends tied up their hair in clips and with lazy hair ties to free their sweating necks from the sun. No matter the sweltering heat, it was always tradition for your picnic just before the summer vacation. One of them had brought a cake and each of the girls attacked it viciously with small forks and smeared bits of frosting on each other’s noses.
“Come here!! You’re next!!” They beamed while launching themselves in your direction to dot your nose with the white cream.
A flurry of high pitched giggles peeled out from each of you once another frosting victim had been dubbed. Your cheeks felt furiously hot knowing that she was looking; and that she was laughing along with the rest of them.
“Awwww cute.” She adored with a smile that turned her dimples into whiskers on her cheeks.
You quickly wiped it off with a handkerchief that settled into your damp hand.
She’s looking, she’s looking…
The other girls pranced around the checkered picnic blanket in their white socks--undoubtedly painting them with green that their mothers would scold them for later. Their careless steps made a mess of the food wrappers and canvas backpacks that held down the corners of the thin fabric. The joyous cheers of the girls seemed to harmonize with the song of the cicadas in the trees; both sounds reminded you of the coming of the summer and the humid weather that makes the air dense.
One of the girls brought out her phone and played loudly from it one of her favorite songs which she knew every word too, regardless of the fact that her tone was far from the singer’s.
You and your friends never cared much for how others would view you. Even at school when you would march through the hallways arm-and-arm, others would stare at the way that none of you batted an eye at those who would glare.
They were just jealous was all.
“Be careful!!” You found yourself scolding, “What if you fall running around like that?”
In response, your friends promptly stuck out their tongues in your general direction.
“Don’t worry about it,” Ryujin coolly popped another cherry into her mouth from the bowl by her crossed legs. “If they fall, let them! It's funnier that way.”
She threw a wink right at you, which you almost didn’t catch because you had quickly averted your eyes to become much more interested in the tiny tea-cakes.
“You’re always worrying Y/n! Its summer!”
“I-I do not.”
Ryujin chuckled in that way that always made you feel like your heart was just about ready to leap out of your chest.
“Lighten up! Come on!”
Before you could process it all, your friend patted down the wrinkles in her skirt and threw off her shoes. She rose, and neared your corner of the blanket with hands outstretched.
“Stop worrying about things or if people are watching!” She scolded you with a cute and tiny pout, “Get up!” Ryujin wriggled her hands with emphasis to show you that you could take hold of them.
“W-what…?”
The other girls giggled on, hardly even noticing the two of you over their singing.
You grabbed onto her hands, already loathing how damp your own felt against hers out of your own nervousness. She still held onto you tightly, saying nothing of them and helped you to your feet. Immediately she brightened once you played along and started to swing your arms in tune with the song. Your friend lip synced to the rap part and you felt just about ready to swoon from how cool she looked saying the words with ease.
“Dance with me!! Don’t pay attention to people walking by or anything like that!”
Ryunjin led you by the hand to the patch of grass with little white and pink flowers laced into it. You really did try to pay attention to dancing, but everything else seemed to be distracting even when you tried hard enough. She brought your hand up higher to spin her, and when she twisted, everything seemed to happen in slow motion: the billow of her plaid shirt, her rosy-pink hair which swiped just at her shoulders, even the way that the sunset melted behind her into swirls of sunburst yellow and vibrant orange. It was like she was all a part of it.
“Your turn!” She said, twisting you too.
You didn’t realize that you would have been as dizzied by it as you were, but when you lost your footing, she was just as quick to help you with her hands carefully grasped onto your shoulders.
“You okay?” Ryujin asked, out of breath, but still genuine.
“I’m fine!”
Your knees wobbled with barely any strength to them, but you mustered every bit of confidence that you had to keep being this close to her. You surprised yourself when you reached back for her hands to continue swinging them between you.
The other girls collapsed back onto the blanket in a pile of shallow exhales and airy laughs that they exchanged between them.
“No more dancing, I-I can’t do any more…” One of them announced while leaning against the shoulder of another one of your friends.
“I forgot! I brought this!!” One of your friends with pigtail braids dove deeply into her backpack and pulled out nearly all of the contents before finding the small cube-case which was decorated with an obscene amount of keychains. “My camera! We have to take some pictures so that we can remember this!”
The other girls squealed in agreement and ganged up on her to fit into the frame of the white Polaroid camera that she had also splattered with stickers.
“Here, I wanna show you something.” Ryujin drew your attention back to the blanket where she settled back down with her own bag draped over her legs.
“What is it?”
“Ryujinnie! I wanna take your picture too! Your pink hair is so pretty…” One of your friends cooed with a sad downturn to her lips, “I hope that you never change it.”
“Hmm, I don’t know. We’ll see. My cousin has been saying that she wants to see what I would look like blonde these days.”
The small talk didn’t concern you too much, you were more concerned with what it was that your friend had to show you.
“I’m going on a trip with my cousins soon so we’ll see what happens.”
Your friend sighed, and skipped over the mess of the blanket to pull Ryujin by the wrist to the walkway a little farther off. “You’d look so cute over here!”
She pardoned her, and stumbled after the eager girl to let her take a Polaroid of her. Even from far away, you could still hear the two of them admire the picture with happy little expressions of “ah! I told you that it would look good!”
The two girls returned, and you began to worry if your friend even remembered what she had said in the first place.
What is it? What does she want to show me?
“Shoot!!” Another one of your friends huffed out while looking at her phone, “I forgot that I have to tutor the middle schoolers today!! I’m late!!”
The girls went to action in a mere matter of seconds sweeping up the picnic assortment and shoving the leftovers into their backpacks.
You helped them and tried to look over to your other friend who didn’t return your glances. Perhaps she really had forgotten.
You let your imagination run wild for just a few moments, although the more that you did, the more it all just seemed preposterous. Maybe it was a confession letter, maybe she had written for you one of those poems like she had liked to do, maybe she had rather wanted to talk to you about something...say something that you wanted to say back…
“I’m going to stick around.” Ryunjin said suddenly with her hands on her hips. “Y/n, you’re welcome to stay too if you want. We don’t exactly have to go home yet since the sun’s still up.”
Your friends looked to you for your answer, to which you stammered out an, “O-okay…” The best that you could.
“See you later!!” They called after with their shoes only half-slid onto their feet.
You waved them off, but the farther that they walked away, the more the realization started to hit you that you were alone with her. The sound of your heartbeat echoed in your ears, and you calmed it trying to think about anything else but the fact that now her attention was truly undivided upon you.
“You said that you wanted to show me something?”
Your friend nodded, and patted the grass beside her for you to join her. She gathered up the small bundle of cherries left behind and positioned them into her lap.
“I learned this trick a little bit ago and I wanted to show you!”
“A trick?”
She nodded, and plucked from one of the crimson berries a stem which she put directly into her mouth.
“What are you doing?!” On the surface, it didn’t seem like the most sanitary thing to do.
Ryunjin stifled a laugh and lightly hit you on the arm to chastise you. “Just wait a minute!”
You watched in your confusion as her face contorted a little, and her eyebrows twisted like she was thinking. Her cheeks puffed a little too, and you could tell that she was doing something with it in her mouth--it was only then when you realized that you had been intensely observing her mouth.
In your embarrassment you threw your eyes in the other direction, but it was no use one you heard her start to giggle at how flustered you had become.
“It’s okay, you’re supposed to look.” She assured you.
“What-what is it?”
“Annnnd done!” Your friend proclaimed proudly and you struggled to meet her again without feeling like your whole face and the tips of your ears were burning up.
Right on the pink of her tongue she had tied the stem into a tiny knot which she displayed proudly.
“You...did that with your tongue?”
“Mm-hm!”
Your hands reduced back to their clammy state, and they found the grass between your own folded legs to find something to do.
“That's...that’s pretty cool…”
“I know right?!”
Back came your friend's little dimples, and this time your chest started to feel like it was swelling with heat.
Stop looking, stop looking…
“I can teach you how to do it some day if you’d like.” Ryujin’s tone dropped lower, and more serious in the way that some had thought to be intimidating. To you, there was nothing more that could make you feel the beat of your own heart more obviously.
“Teach me? How??”
The question felt like a butterfly in your lips, fluttering and ticklish, light and uncertain. You met her eyes the best you could; even though you knew that there was nothing about her that you didn’t already know, or that was threatening.
Your friend tilted her head, inspecting you and the way that you could barely keep your glance away from her lips--stained just a little red from the cherries--then smiled.
“W-what? What is it? Why are you smiling?”
She sighed, and craned forward on one of her hands in the grass, bridging the distance between the two of you to caress down the side of your face, all the way to your jaw with the back of her fingers.
“You’re just too cute.”
“Hm?” Your chest threw itself up and down, and you could thinly feel the breath that tried to fill your lungs when she was this close.
“I just can’t handle it any more.”
“Me?”
Ryunjin nodded, softening her eyes until they were nearly closed, and rid the two of you of all space, leaning over just so you could feel the weight of her chest nearly pressing into yours. At first, she placed the lightest of kisses into you, so light that it barely brushed against your lips, but merely imprinted upon them. She leaned back, leaving you with the ghost of a feeling of her upon you. It felt a bit unfair how fleeting it was, and how she looked at you like that: smug as ever, but as blissful as she always was.
Your breaths tried to make sense of it all, if it had just happened, and what to think of it. As quick as it was, all you could want was to feel it again.
“Ryu--”
She cradled both sides of your face in hers, leaning in with more fervor and parting your lips with hers, leaving you to squeak from the sudden movement. You couldn’t figure out how to kiss back at first, or if you should hold her too. Your head felt like it was spinning in circles from your disbelief when you could taste the tiny tang of the sweet and sour cherries which lingered on her lips. She rubbed her thumbs into your cheeks, and angled you better to let her growing smile paint your own mouth from corner to corner.
At last, you were able to find a rhythm which suited you, and you kissed her right back. She giggled at your stroke of confidence and the vibrations made your whole body tingle. Your feet had surely fallen asleep where you had folded them beside you, but the numb feeling of them dissolved once her hands fell to your shoulder where she held to you tightly. The pressure from the tips of her fingers made you shiver, and you too smoothed down the pink shine of her hair.
The warm and ticklish feeling of her tongue grazed your lower lip where she changed her approach and deepened her kiss. The heat of tongues finally met in the middle testing and learning more of the other the closer that you became, and tiny airy gasps got stuck between both of your curiosity. In your lap, her hands found yours and they laced together and held tight; each digit wrapping the other and becoming one with the eagerness of her thumb rubbing little circles into the squishy parts of your hand.
After the heat of your passion started to melt, you found yourself hiding your giddy laughter the best you could once she started to peck at your lips over and over until you felt like she had kissed you so close to the brim that you would overflow.
“I said that you’re cute and I mean it!” She snuck the phrase in between a couple more kisses, eliciting you to fold up in your giddy embarrassment from the compliment.
Ryunjin pulled away, and popped another cherry into her mouth from the bundle, then threw her arms around your shoulders. You simply let your hands rest in her lap covered by the plaid of her skirt; shaking from the release of the endorphins and the adrenaline.
“Ryujin...I wanted to tell you that I’ve had a crush on you for a...really long time…” You shied, but she brought your chin back to look at her directly.
“Good. Me too.”
You couldn’t even process the combination of her words for them to make sense. White noise filled your ears, even though it should have been obvious from the way that she had kissed you like that.
“Oh! Here. I wanted to give this to you too. Something to remember me by.”
She reached for her bag, and pulled out a white-out pen from the front pocket. The Polaroid had faded into its full color, and she focused with her tongue peeking from her mouth as she wrote the message:
see you soon <3
- ryujinnie
Over her head in the picture, she doodled a few hearts, then she blew on the ink to dry it.
“For you!”
You took the picture with your hands still thoroughly shaking, and all you could utter was a “thanks” while you took in your friend looking as gorgeous as she always was. You knew then that you would treasure the image forever, and the day which it was taken.
“Who knows,” Ryujin started, and let her head fall to your shoulder where she nuzzled in, “This might be the last that you’ll see of my pink hair too.”
You turned the picture over, already sensing how it made your heart feel like it was aching sticky and sweet, just like the cherries.

The wind whips fast on your bare fingers, cool and quick and raising goosebumps in its wake. You blink in the haze of the early sunset, head lolled to the side of the headrest. It feels good.
“That’s where I went to high school.” Sapnap interrupts your thoughts and points a finger at a collection of tall brick buildings down a side street. The silver of the lettering is dull, but you can still feel the nostalgia.
“And you’re about to see the park that me and my friends used to hang out at after work and—actually, nevermind.” His arm drops to the middle console and he looks straight ahead with slightly pinker cheeks.
“Do what?” You ask, voice all sweet, and a grin grows on your face. You turn towards him and wiggle your eyebrows.
“Nothing. Homework.” He avoids your eye contact and hikes his hand up higher on the steering wheel. “Anyways— Do you want to get some food before we head out? I know a great place.”
You two were just coming to a close on your little trip to visit his family; it was his step-mom’s birthday and you decided to make a week of it. It was your first long-term trip with Sapnap, and also your first time meeting his dad’s side of the family. You were proud to say she loved you. His little sister took a little more effort to talk to you of her own volition, but soon enough she was on your side.
You have a couple hours to kill before making your flight back home, so Sapnap has taken it upon himself to give you a quick tour of his hometown.
“Yeah,” you decide, bottom lip popped out. “Can we get ice cream after?”
“Uh, duh.” The Neighbourhood’s Stargazing starts through the speakers and he reaches to turn it down. “I’m so ready to get home and sleep.” He stretches his neck in his seat, letting out an uncharacteristically inappropriate grunt when his bones pop. You make a disgusted face, nose wrinkling, but stretch your own back, slumping down in the seat. The day had been full of packing up and this horrible hike his dad liked to do early in the mornings, so you two were pretty beat.
“Okay, we’re here,” he announces three sleepy minutes later in his best attempt at a whisper. Lifting your head off of the corner of your seat, you blink in the setting sunlight as a yawn splits your face. “You’re so cute.”
“Shut up,” you mumble, and struggle to get your seatbelt off in that post-nap haze. You’d barely been asleep for thirty seconds, damn it. The air is a swampy heat when you step out of the car onto rocky gravel and nearly twist your ankle climbing over the curb. Sapnap catches you by the lower back, trying to hide his laugh but failing miserably. You slide him a dirty look, smacking his shoulder as hard as you can manage while limping towards the front entrance.
The door jingles when you two breach the doorway, alerting a bored-looking hostess that the circus has arrived. She looks at Sapnap a second longer than she should, eyebrows screwed together in silent confusion. But she leads the two of you to a booth near a large window, handing you sticky menus and promptly fucking right off to the host station. She nearly runs.
“Do you know her?” You ask, inconspicuously hiding your face in the search for their 24/7 breakfast menu. You feel his eyes on you.
“Don’t think so.” He leans on one elbow and slides his phone out of his jeans’ pocket. In the 25 seconds it takes for you to find their french toast and sides menu, he has browsed and closed his phone with an animatedly shocked look on his face.
“What?” You give him a weird look and put down the menu.
“I totally went to homecoming with that girl.” He eyes the hostess. You glance over at her again, meeting her gaze, and offer a polite smile. She turns away quickly, eyes wide.
“She’s cute,” you say, voice high and fake, and he drums his fingers on the tabletop as an amused look makes its way onto his face.
“Are you—?”
“What?” You reply right back.
“Nothing.”
Thank God the server comes up to your table then and starts asking for drink orders, or else you’d have to admit (sheepishly) you were a tiny eensy-weensy bit annoyed. Only a tad. But after requesting a Dr. Pepper and a water the conversation surrounding the nervous-looking hostess dies.
“I’m so hungry I think I feel my stomach shrinking.” You flop your head onto your arm on the table top and make a whiny noise into the stack of napkins your server left at the table. Sapnap rubs his thumb into the side of your forearm, touch warm and nearly dissolving the pangs of hunger and jealousy.
“You weren’t hungry an hour ago.” He lifts your hand to his face and plants a kiss on the back of it. Oh, pulling out the big guns, huh? “I would have made you something.”
You tilt onto your chin, pouting, and stare up at his cute face. His cute, scruffy, perfectly-kissable face.
“I think I got hungry staring at you for half an hour.” A mischievous grin grows on your previously-petulant face and he just shakes his head.
“I do have that effect,” he admits with cockiness in his tone, lifting his eyebrows and leaning back into the booth with his lips pursed.
The server returns with two glasses and takes your food orders onto their little yellow notepad. You chug the water down when they leave for the kitchen, getting your lap and chin thoroughly wet in the process. Sapnap just snorts at you and shoves the napkins your way.
“So,” you start, patting dry your jeans. “tell me what you were like in high school.” You cross your arms and settle into the booth, smirk on your lips.
“What I was like?” He parrots, sipping at his soda, looking thoughtful. “Firstly, a virgin.” You make a noise. Duh. Dude had a buzz cut his junior year. (You’ve seen the pictures. His step-mom particularly likes them.) “Secondly, I was actually— well, I wasn’t popular, but I had a lot of friends. We were all semi-athletic lonely band kids but we had fun. Had one girlfriend senior year but she went to Cal Tech in the fall and I didn’t. I, um, worked at a Dairy Queen in the summers and gained so much weight I had to lose all over again for Unified Track.”
“Relatable,” you comment, drinking noisily at your water. He fiddles with the paper straw wrapper and crunches it up into a ball. It goes soaring into your drink with a quiet “Kobe” and you just give him a look. He smiles toothily right back at you. “Stop being cute, I’m trying to listen to your story.”
“Oh, my bad,” he mocks. “Anyways. That’s what I was like in highschool.” You fish the paper ball out of your water and flick it wetly at his arm. It sticks and you choke on a laugh, cheeks puffed.
Two plates of warm food are set down loudly onto the table and you thank the server with a surprised smile, Sapnap mirroring you.
Two minutes of wordless chewing passes, minds occupied just by “food, me eat” instead of anything related to your previous conversation. You realize that Sapnap is one of the loudest chewers ever, and he realizes that you fail to notice the streak of maple syrup in your hair.
“C’mere,” he mumbles through a mouthful of omelet and hash browns and beckons you with his hand. You lean closer, chewing slowly, as he pats a napkin at the strands of hair trapped in syrup.
“Thanks, baby.” You take the napkin from him and pause your assault of the warm french toast before you to clean the sticky sugar out of your hair. He just watches you, half of a smile on his lips.
You two finish your food in record time. It’s borderline vacuum-like. There’s a short grace period where you just sit like two lazy cats, slumped down in the booth and holding your full stomachs. But the check comes soon after, and you both pay your way and are out of the restaurant without any mad dashes for the bathroom. A miracle, really, because of the American-like amount of butter you both consume.
“I’m a much more functional person now,” you mutter into the cotton of his shoulder, swinging your hand in his. He just hums in agreement.
“I guess we’re not getting ice cream, then,” he teases, and you just groan in response.
“I don’t feel like having diarrhea on a plane, unfortunately.” You sigh heavily when you have to split and get into your respective sides of the rental car.
The entire trip (somewhat roundabout because of the amount of side quests to show you things from his childhood) to the airport Sapnap is a chatterbox. He’s like this when he has sugar: either bouncing off the walls with energy or talking your ear off.
“That’s where my dad proposed to my step-mom. I was kinda young but I remember being surprised at how big the ring was— dude broke the bank for her.” It’s a little gazebo you catch a glimpse of through the trees in a park. It probably was an incredibly picturesque moment, and you can sense how much she must have loved it. With just meeting them this weekend, you can already see how much love those two have for each other.
You hope people can see how much you love Sapnap.
“Oh my God, it’s still there.” He points out the side of your window to what looks like a Dairy Queen that has been through World War 3. “My buddy Eric and I once spilled a gallon of that liquid ice-cream-shit all over the men’s bathroom.”
You shoot him a horrified look. “Why was it in the bathroom?”
He just smirks.
“—And that’s my Uncle Ron’s house. Had my first beer there.”
“And last, hopefully,” you add, pulling a disgusted face. The two story bungalow is cute, and one of your favorite colors: olive green. “That shit is nasty.”
He just shrugs and continues down the side street.
“Is this the park you were talking about?”
He pulls into the gravelly parking lot of a small clearing of tall trees, a picnic table and campfire sat squat in the middle. But he doesn’t respond, just turning the car off and climbing out. He reaches the passenger door without speaking, and opens it for you. You climb carefully out, confused.
“Come on.” He takes your hand and starts for a small path to the left of the picnic table. The mid-sunset shade envelopes the both of you.
“I hope this isn’t where you kill me.”
“No,” he snorts. “I just wanted to show you something.”
It’s just a few moments of stumbling through the damp underbrush before you’re coming face to face with a small, mossy pond that sits right underneath an incredibly old willow tree. He stops right on the edge of the rocky path and turns toward you.
“This your make out spot?” You ask between a grin as he snakes an arm around your waist and tugs you flush to him. Your innocent smile fades when you feel the press of his lips to the side of your neck, light and ticklish. Oh.
“No,” he murmurs, and just breathes you in. “I came here once—the night before I graduated highschool. And I told myself when I really really loved someone I’d take them here with me.” He sways with you in his grasp, a gentle and song-less dance.
You grip his shoulder tighter in your hand and lean into him.
“That’s— awfully romantic, huh?” Your voice is quiet. Almost nervous. He just makes a noise of agreement.
“So here we are.” His voice is the opposite of yours, all strong and confident.
You two just move together for a moment. The sun breaks through the tree canopy, shining bright orange down onto the glassy surface of the pond. Crickets and frogs chirp back and forth as the willow vines swing in a cool evening breeze. You watch nature come alive around you, suddenly grateful for the man in your arms.
“Don’t propose,” you whisper, breaking the gentle tension. A laugh breaks the silence and he’s pulling away to look at you. Maybe in disbelief. A strand of hair falls into his eyes and you brush it away, fingers stilling on his temple and sliding down onto his cheek. Stubble scrapes against the skin of your palm and he stares at you through those meadow eyes.
You realize in that moment that he is exactly himself. Of course he is. He’s Sapnap, and everything that encompasses that. Dark and light and fiery and cool. He always has been, and always will be.
You realize you wouldn’t mind if he proposed.

SLIP OF THE TONGUE
PAIRINGS: Mat Barzal x Reader CONTENT: offseason, established relationship, day out at the beach / boardwalk, fluff (?), mentions of marriage WARNINGS: light PDA, kissing RATING: G WORD COUNT: 1.3k AUTHOR’S NOTE: Hi this is my first Hockey fic, I’m very new to to hockeyblr. I saw a tiktok that inspired this. All my love to @rosesvioletshardy for getting me into hockey, she did more in like a month than Canadian culture (andm y dad) has been able to do in 24 years. She got the first peek at this fic while we suffered through the last playoff game :’) hope you enjoy! It’s very sweet.
Mat holds your hand firmly as you walk among the light crowd out along the boardwalk. There are small rides, game booths, food stands, street performers, and vendors selling their wares. Which is why Mat hasn’t let go since you left the restaurant where you’d had a light early dinner.
Someone had gotten a little too much sun and that someone is now wearing your peachy red bucket hat that you’d chosen to match your bike shorts for the outing, and coincidentally (or not) also matched his t-shirt. Mat’s cheeks and nose are red, and his shaggy offseason hair peeks out from the hat in beachy waves.
At the car, before dinner, when you’d put your towels and bags away, you kissed his cheek after pressing your lips to an icy cold water bottle, and swiped some aloe onto his face while he held another water bottle to his neck after gulping down half of it.
“I think you were overly ambitious with boogie-boarding, baby,” you’d teased him lightly, watching him smile, eyes closed as you finished tending to his ails. He’d pouted, but he was laughing as he leaned in to kiss you, humming happily if not a little defeatedly.
Now that he’s eaten he’s regained a little energy, and the offensive sun is close to setting, lighting the sky in tones of purple and orange and growing the shadows on the boardwalk. You’re in search of desert, and a little more entertainment before heading back home for the night.
Mat squeezes your hand as the crowd thins out and you look back at him with a reassuring smile, still tickled by how your outfits matched today. Your linen top is cream with a peachy yellow partial circle shape on the front that you think looks like the sun, but Mat said looks like a fried egg. Your sandals match the yellow, his white shorts complement your shirt and make his thighs look scrumptious. Your hat matched your leggings and his shirt, but you think it looks cuter on Mat.
“There’s a soft serve stand over there,” he says, raising a brow and pointing with his free hand. You look in the direction he’s pointed and find it, nod, and start heading over to it together.
There’s a family ahead of you when you arrive, giving you both enough time to pick something off the menu. Mat wraps his arm around your waist while you wait your turn. You decide quickly, a cone with raspberry drizzle, but he takes longer to decide after he sees options for both chocolate drizzle and chocolate dipped.
The mother ahead of you is talking very loudly to the clerk behind the counter, prattling more like, going on about… my husband this, my husband that, in such a snooty and somehow simultaneously resentful way that it makes you grimace. You can’t even tell what her problem is.
“I never wanna sound like that,” you say under your breath, rolling your eyes when Mat looks at you and snorts trying to stifle his laughter.
“God, me either,” he says, shaking his head and giving you a little squeeze. “I think I know what I want.” He looks around and nods at a bench. “I’ll order, you wait here?”
“Okay,” you say, scrunching up your nose when he gives you a quick peck and heads over to the counter with a little bounce in his step.
You laugh and take a seat, looking around at the nearby stands and booths. The family has moved on, their kids' faces covered in chocolate and ice cream, but looking as content as can be despite what a grouch their mother seems to be. They’re passing a booth full of charming stuffed animals.
There isn’t any fixed carnival game to try to win to get a toy, just a man selling toys. Mat is still waiting and paying for your ice cream, so you get up and take a few steps closer.
“Babe!” you call, and watch him turn toward you, hands in his pockets, brows raised curiously. You point over at the booth and he nods, understanding where you’re going.
The toys are even more charming up close, your gaze travelling over them thoughtfully. You squish one of the sample toys and discover them to be utterly pleasant to press your fingers into.
Just when you think you’re ready to choose, the grouchy mother calls the vendor from the other side of the bench. He looks at you apologetically and goes to help her, and you hear her again; my husband likes… my husband wants, what do you think is best for my husband…
It only takes a moment, and you try to tune out her gratingly irritating voice, but finally you get your turn. You offer the vendor a smile, pointing to two bear toys that kind of look like loaves of bread, one beige and one brown. He turns to retrieve them.
“The beige one for me, and the brown one for my husband,” you say, the word slipping off your tongue accidentally. Your cheeks flush. The vendor doesn’t know that Mat isn’t your husband, but your face feels hot and you let out a heavy, embarrassed breath, almost dizzy with the thought of it.
The vendor turns around and pauses, a skeptical look on his face. Your eyes widen and you turn around, meeting Mat’s stunned, shit-eating grin, holding your ice cream in his hands.
“Did you hear that, man!” Mat says, voice cracking excitedly. The vendor laughs. “She called me her husband!”
Now your cheeks are burning worse than his. But if anything can be compared to the sun, it’s his beaming smile.
“I heard it,” the vendor replies, shaking his head amusedly.
“Oh my god, you’ve gotta come to our wedding, man,” Mat says, handing you your ice cream and reaching a hand out to shake his hand.
You break into giggles. “Mat, please,” you plead, fishing out a few bills to pay the man for the toys. He shakes Mat’s hand laughing, and puts the bears into a paper bag for you.
He’s practically bouncing as you step away from the booth, another disbelieving laugh leaving your lips as he loops his free arm around your waist and starts guiding you to the railing to watch the sunset.
“It was a slip of the tongue—“ you say, embarrassed, amused, but he silences you with a kiss that quickly turns into a grin between you both.
“Say it again,” he says, pulling back a bit to look at you, still playful but utterly earnest.
“My husband?” you reply, tummy full of butterflies. Somehow he grins even bigger and chuckles quietly to himself.
“I like how that sounds,” he says, “A lot. About as much as I like the idea of you being my wife.”
It’s your turn to grin, and you bite your lip, cheeks aching from trying not to smile too hard.
“Just the idea?” You tease, and he laughs again.
“You’re gonna be my wife.” He’s so happy and so sure you have absolutely no doubts about how serious he is. “And it’ll be an honour to be your husband.”
“You’re gonna make me cry in my ice cream,” you complain, playfully, pouting, but can’t help but laugh again when he kisses you.
“You’re okay with that right?” He asks, uncertain for a second.
You nod. “Are you proposing?”
He shakes his head sheepishly. “I’m proposing that I want to spend the rest of my life with you,” he says, lifting his hand and stroking his thumb over your rosy cheek. “For now.”
“For now,” you agree, leaning up to kiss him again.
He holds your chin with his thumb and index. He tries to deepen it, and you indulge him for just a few seconds before you giggle.
“Save that for later, our ice cream is gonna melt all over us!”
He groans playfully. “Ice-cream? What ice-cream?” He kisses your cheek and steps back.
Mat lifts his slightly melted, chocolate dipped and sprinkle-topped cone to his lips and winks.

Hey I know you probably have like a billion requests already but maybe you could do something where the reader is good friends with corpse (maybe with some unspoken feelings) and they ask him to visit their country side home lmao-
I'm really embarrassed about asking this and I know it sounds strange but being out in the country side can be really good for mental health and I just want this boi to heal--
I'm so sorry hahah
Thanks
That’s not strange at all, darling!! I love this ask! I’m so sorry it took me so long to answer this, my mental health hasn’t been very good lately. I suppose I found this ask rather appropriate and I guess that’s why I liked writing it so much. Hope you enjoy!
Sunrise, Sunset - Oneshot
Pairings: Corpse Husband / Reader.
“Yo,” is the first thing you hear as you open your Discord. It’s not his regular greeting, and he sounds more tired than usual.
“What’s up?” you asked curiously. “Everything okay? Haven’t talked to you in a while.”
“I know, I’m sorry. I got really busy.”
“I can tell from your voice,” you chuckled. It had more of a rasp to it- if that was even possible.
“Yea, I can’t do too much for too long. I love that I’m able to work on music now, but it exhausts my voice so much that I can’t even stream sometimes.”
“Maybe you should take a break,” you comment.
“Probably. It’s almost done, so then I can stream more,” he replies.
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Hm?”
“I’m talking about an actual break, from everything.”
You hear him exhale deeply as if he’d already been considering it himself. “That does sound very nice.”
“I know, I always have the best ideas.”
“You do, except you forgot about the fact that I can’t really go anywhere. I mean, I’d love to take a break, but if I just sit here at home, I’m gonna either end up doing nothing or start working anyways. I don’t see me relaxing that way.”
“I didn’t forget about anything; I just hadn’t gotten to that part yet.”
“Oh?”
You’d be lying if you said that noise didn’t make you blush. “Remember how I said I live in the countryside? You know, it’s quite cosy here, and I have a guest bedroom to spare. If you want, but only if you’re comfortable with it, you could come over.”
It was quiet for a moment and your poor nerves were wondering if you’d said something completely wrong. You knew how he was about his privacy, but you’d figured that having known each other for a more than a few months now, you’d be at a point where you’d become actual friends, especially considering you always talked over Discord. At least, when he wasn’t busy.
“I... You wouldn’t mind?” he asked softly.
“Of course not!” You immediately replied, trying your best to make him feel as welcome as possible. “It’ll be so much fun! I was just worried you wouldn’t feel comfortable with it, otherwise, I would’ve invited you over a lot sooner.”
“Really?” he asked.
“Yes! I’m always looking for people to take care of my chickens.”
“You have chickens?” he sputtered.
“Sure do. And that was a joke, by the way.”
He didn’t really give you much time to prepare. He’d instantly asked if he could come over in two days, which meant you had to clean, do the groceries, and have another mental breakdown within that short time.
When he did arrive at your relatively small but homely cottage, you knew that even if you’d had more time, you still wouldn’t have felt like you’d prepared enough. You were incredibly nervous, especially as the cab slowed to a nerve-wracking speed until it finally stopped in front of your little wooden fence that really couldn’t keep anyone out of your garden because it was so ramshackle.
You nod your head to the driver politely, who got out of the car to unload a bag from the trunk. Then, the door opened, ringed fingers sliding across the yellow polish on the metal framing. He pulled himself up and out, finally allowing you to take a good look at his face.
His hair was dark and curly, as to be expected from what you’d seen in the pictures, though you could barely see it underneath the hood he’d pulled up. His dark brown eyes immediately found yours, and a shy smile graced his lips, which you bashfully returned with a small wave. It made you want to hit yourself multiple times. He paid the cabby and thanked him, allowing you to take a good look at his attire, at his frame, at his whole being. He was wearing a black hoodie with some chains around it, along with dark baggy trousers and, go figure, black sneakers. He was slightly slouching, probably so the driver wouldn’t be able to make out his face in its entirety, but overall he looked lean, even while his face was more pale and tired, with dark circles surrounding his eyes.
He locked the creaky wooden fence behind him, quickly closing the distance between you two with only a few strides. He dropped his backpack on the floor, saying, “hi.” “Hey,” you replied with that stupid smile still on your face and now quite possibly a hint of red dusting your cheeks. He just chuckled at the slight awkwardness of the situation, before wrapping his arms around you in a warm hug. He smelled like nice cologne, and he gave really good hugs. It said a lot that you could tell that from just the one. “Thanks for letting me come over,” he muttered, finally allowing himself to sound as exhausted as he looked.
“I told you, it’s nothing.”
When you met his eyes again as he pulled back, you knew he was quietly telling you that it meant more to him than that. Feeling shy under his dark gaze, you shook your head, saying, “Come on, let me show you around.”
It wasn’t that big of a tour, but it was home and it was comfortable, so you never felt embarrassed about it. You made enough money, to be fair, from your career through YouTube, but you’d never really had the heart to leave the house. At least you had a guest bedroom, and the garden was something to dream of. To trade that in for a bit more storage space would be such a pity.
“-and this is going to be your room, for however long you wish to stay,” you finish with a flourish of your hand. He set his suitcase down on the freshly made bed and nodded, glancing around for a bit before his eyes landed back on you. “Did I tell you how much I appreciate you doing this for me?”
You huff, “Once or twice now.”
“I’ll be off your back in a few days, don’t worry. I think I just needed to get out of my stuffy apartment for a bit.”
“Stay as long as you’d like,” you told him assuredly, “I know how stressful it can be and I haven’t even been through what you have. I can’t imagine what it must be like.”
He shrugs, “I have my ups and downs. It’s mostly my health issues and anxiety holding me back.”
“Well, I hope you can relax a bit here, then. People seem to feel more at ease without a bustling city around them,” you said.
He glanced out the window and nodded. “Yeah, I immediately noticed it as I got out of the car. It’s so... quiet here. And the air, of course. It’s so much nicer.”
“I usually take walks in the early mornings. You should come along sometime if you’d like. The sunrise is always really pretty when you get up on the hill.”
The corners of his lips quirked up. “I’d like that.”
“Great,” you replied, clapping your hands together, “I’ll let you get settled and start dinner. The uh- the bathroom is shared, I left a stack of towels on the rack so you can use those.”
“Thanks, I really appreciate it.”
You nodded shyly, silently closing the door behind you as you stepped into the hall. You let out a deep sigh and leaned back against the wall, pressing the backs of your hands against your cheek in a vain attempt to cool down the heat and tone down the redness. You couldn’t remember the last time you’d reacted this way but the times you’d spend talking about everything and nothing with Corpse through Discord calls that lasted until the early mornings. You knew you shouldn’t be feeling this way. You didn’t want to risk the friendship you had with him, but the tingling that had sprouted in your gut the moment he’d gotten out of that car told you that this was going to be hard.
You knocked on his door quietly, afraid you were accidentally going to wake him when he didn’t want to be awoken. You didn’t know what kind of morning person he’d be, but he told you yesterday that he wanted to join you for your walk today. And while you were going to leave half an hour later than usual because it took you that long to work up the courage to knock on his door, meaning you were going to have to hurry a bit to catch the sun rising, you were still scared he was going to react grouchily. But when he opened the door, already dressed and ready to go, you realized you’d foolishly forgotten that this wasn’t just anyone, but that this was one of your friends; someone you already knew, even if it hadn’t been physically. Of course, he’d open the door with a smile, even though he looked more tired than the day before, which worried you.
“How did you sleep?” You made it evident in your tone that you were rather scared to ask the question, but it made him chuckle.
“I think you already know the answer to that. I don’t sleep well in general, so don’t worry. It has nothing to do with the bed or your hospitality.”
“Well, if there’s anything I can do for you, I don’t mind being woken up.”
He shook his head as he followed you downstairs and out the front door. “To be fair, I slept more than I usually would, but your rooster woke me up.”
You laughed, “Yea, I’m sorry, but I can’t do anything about that.” You held the wooden fence gate open for him, following him to the grass field until you were walking next to him. You silently picked up your pace a bit, worrying that you might miss the sunrise when you had promised it to him.
“I know, I know,” he replied amusedly, “Can we go see them later? The chickens?”
“Sure,” you smiled, “I also have a few ducks. You’ll love them, they’ll try to rip the shoelaces from your feet.”
“Sounds great.”
The walk to the hill wasn’t too far, but the hill was quite steep, which was always an exercise for people who walked with you for the first time, so you’d figured he’d start trailing behind you after some time. Thing is, he started trailing behind relatively earlier than you had expected him to.
Glancing back over your shoulder, you called out, “you good? We’re almost there.”
He nodded, though you could see him slightly panting, and you turned around to jog up the last bit until you reached the top. You could see a sliver of light start to peek over the horizon, making you glance back to see how far away he was.
But instead of having moved forward, he was now sort of slouched over, holding his stomach as he panted loudly. “Shit,” you cursed yourself as you sprinted back down until you skidded to a stop in front of him. “Are you okay? I’m so sorry, I should have slowed down-“
“It’s fine,” he waved you off, slowly catching his breath. “I can do it, I just take a bit longer.”
“I’ll carry you if I have to. I got us into this mess.”
He chuckled, but it sounded a bit hoarse.
“Come on,” you said. He furrowed his brow in confusion but followed you anyway. Walking along the side of the hill was tricky, but you made it around without any issues. He was able to keep up this time and gratefully plopped down on the grass beside you, just in time to watch the sun fully appear from behind the horizon.
“Holy shit,” he breathed.
“Yea, it never really gets old.” You laid down, feeling twigs of grass tickle the bareback of your neck.
He joined you, scooting a bit closer until your arms were brushing against each other. You couldn’t tell if he’d done it on purpose, so you acted like it hadn’t affected you, keeping your eyes fixed on the sky above you. At least, you tried. They flickered when you felt fingertips graze across your lower arm until they reached your palm, where his nails slowly dragged along your skin until his warm digits intertwined with yours. His rings felt cool against the heat and tingling you were suddenly feeling in your hand. He didn’t let go of you, not as you laid there for what seemed like hours, nor during the entire walk back.
‘Is this what friends do?’ you were silently asking yourself, watching the ducks try to free his shoes from its laces, ‘is this what friends do when they need support? Is this his way of coping, or is it-‘ You quickly shook the thought away. Of course, he wouldn’t think of you that way. He probably did stuff like this with all his friends. You knew how playful he could get, his guy friends included.
Yeah, it was just that. It had to be.
You were both laid back on the couch that night, stuffed to the brink with the famous lasagne you’d put together. The TV was on, but it sounded more like static noise in the background. “I think I can just fall asleep right here,” you hummed. The glass of red wine you’d shared – because neither of you could handle liquor – had created a pleasant buzz between the two of you.
“That seems a lot less comfortable than your bed.”
“You don’t know a thing about my bed,” you huffed indignantly.
It was quiet for a moment then, a sliver of tension seeping through the warmth of your home. “I think it’s probably about as comfortable as mine, otherwise you’re treating your guests too much,” he replied.
“I don’t know,” you admitted, “I’ve actually never slept in the guest bedroom. I might just be treating my guests too much and I’d never even know about it.”
He suddenly sat up and turned the TV off. “Come on,” he said and was already up the stairs by the time you’d made an attempt to move.
When finally reached the upstairs and were about to round the corner, you were suddenly picked up and slung over his shoulder, causing you to let out a loud shriek. “Corpse!” you laughed, “Please put me down!”
“You were taking too long,” he grumbled, dropping you down on the bed unceremoniously. He shuffled over until he was laying down next to you and lifted the covers up until it reached your neck.
“So?” he asked.
You had your eyes closed. “I might be treating my guests too much.”
He snorted. “Fucking knew it,” which made you laugh.
You laid there for quite a while, not really caring if either of you fell asleep with your regular clothes still on. “Hey Corpse?”
He hummed.
“I’m really glad you came. It gets lonely over here sometimes.”
He shifted, but because it was so dark you couldn’t really see what he was doing. Suddenly though, you felt him hovering over you, his elbows resting on either side of your face as his hand reached across to move a strand of hair to the side. He leaned down and hesitantly, his lips barely touched yours, a silent question if this was okay. You moved back against him, your hand finding his cheek in the darkness. His kisses were gentle, but passionate, which made your breaths heavier and deeper. When you pulled apart, you were both breathing heavily, mostly from the tension that had arisen.
“I really like you,” you admitted.
“Good,” he replied, wrapping his arms around you until you were tucked against his chest. You hit his arm playfully, “Cocky bastard.”
You hear the smirk in his voice as he said goodnight.

One Last Look (Poly!Lost Boys x S/O)
Warnings: angst about being a vampire, angst about their human lives, yearning for a forgotten life, tooth-rotting fluff
Word Count: 1414
Tumblr media
The boys had no idea as to what you'd set up, you'd made sure of that. It was somewhat difficult even convincing them to go somewhere without David's choosing, but you'd promised them a surprise. That was enough to, at least, pique Paul's interest, and the others knew that he wouldn't shut up until the surprise was revealed.
So, you'd taken them up the stairs and all the way up to the cliffs edge. Quickly, confusion dotted some of their faces when they saw the projector screen and the rest of your set up. You'd even gone through the trouble of bringing some beanbags and chairs up for the boys to use, and the blonde twins didn't hesitate to launch themselves into the bean bags you'd put side by side. David sat in one of the more rigid beach chairs, and Dwayne, given a choice between a bean bag and a beach chair, chose a bean bag. You smiled, dodging Dwaynes attempts to pull you into his lap as David asked,
"Now what?" And you tried not to roll your eyes at his tone. Really, he couldn't stand not being in charge for ten minutes? Well, you were sure that you were about to change his attitude. You pressed play, starting the projector, and then hurried to your seat. It was in the middle, between David and Marko, and you watched as your earlier film began.
***
The boys didn't like being kept in the dark, but they waited patiently as the show began. Paul had muttered something about it being a dirty movie, but Marko had immediately given him a glance. A dirty movie showing right on top of Hudson's Bluff? Yeah, no way.
Paul had scoffed, crossing his arms as he thought pointedly. Well, you never know. To the boy besides him. But, when the movie began to roll, they watched in confusion as the horizon right in front of them began to play. And then, the first bit of light peaked over.
The boys flinched out on instinct, with some of them even moving to push themselves out of their seats. But you reached for Markos hand, giving it an assuring squeeze.
"Hey, hey. You're okay." You said, and the boys looked between the screen and the world around them. The sunlight was false, it couldn't hurt them any more than the candles they used to light the cave could. Their eyes turned to the screen once more, fascination on them as the sun breached the skyline.
It'd been eighty years since they'd last seen a sunrise. Even then, some of them couldn't remember it.
Marko had always been an early riser. He'd seen his fair share, but after eighty years of fog? It was like looking at a faded photograph. The colors weren't right or the lines were hazy. Maybe certain parts of his memory were distorted. Or maybe all the memories of sunrises he held had blended together. But there was one thing he always remembered. The orange, yellow glow of the sun. He'd remembered that perfectly, and he stared silently as it climbed up the screen. He gripped the bag under him, kneading it as it climbed. He remembered waking up just to watch it, even sketching it in his young life. His fingers itched for his pencils then, and he bit his thumb to try to suppress the urge. He remembered how expensive pencils and paints used to be. How he'd save a week's wage, as he used to call it, just to buy some. How, even though they never said anything, the others used to stare at his brushes like they wished they were a loaf of bread instead. But he also remembered how his drawings used to brighten up their space, how they'd done the same thing to the cave below. He thumbed at his jacket, thinks about how, even after all these years, even after he'd forgotten why, he was still trying to bring color into their lives.
Paul had seen his fair share of sunrises when they'd been human, but that was usually while he was scrambling out of someone's bed, or scrambling out of his own to try to make it to whatever sorry excuse for a job he called work. He never paid much attention to the sky of the morning, but, in that second, he remembered how much he missed the feeling of the sun on his face. A sun that didn't burn his skin the second it touched it, but a sun that warmed him. He remembered mid-day, a breeze of memories he didn't even know he still retained. He remembered eating lunch inbetween shifts. He remembered being full, remembered the way his muscles used to burn and how good it felt to sit down and relax. Paul relaxed all the time, but he couldn't remember the last time, in his vampire life, it felt like relief. His muscles didn't ache, his brow didn't sweat, and he didn't feel the prickle in his feet after being on them for too long. He never even realized those things had been missing, and a small part of him missed the feeling.
During his human life, Dwayne had always paid more attention to sunsets, to the sight of the sun retreating behind the sky. To the oranges, reds, and deep purples that followed. He was used to the navy blue of the night sky. He'd been under it every night for years. But, seeing his first sunrise in nearly eighty years, he would've traded all of his sunsets for it. He wished he'd appreciated it more. He missed lying under the sun, even if it was just to tan. He missed having to tie his hair back to keep himself from overheating. He couldn't remember the last time he'd felt hot, let alone even warm. Memories of him under the sun in the California desert floated in his mind. He thought he'd known what thirst was then. He laughed a little bit to himself, and he glanced over at you when you looked over to find the source of his laughter. He didn't explain, simply letting his eyes flick back to the screen. He stared, watching in silence as the sun rose on the screen.
David didn't know what to say. He didn't know if he should say anything. David had never been one for sunrises. He always got up the latest. He was practically nocturnal even when he'd been human, working through the night and spending the rest of the time worrying about the others. The switch to being a vampire hadn't been much of a change in his life, but it was only then that he realized what he'd been missing. Instead of having his thoughts float back to his old life, he glanced over at you. He wished he'd been able to be there with you, watch as it pulled over the horizon. That you didn't need to take a video, and instead you could've nudged him awake. He realized then that there were parts of your life that he'd always miss. Unless you became one of them. But, as he stared at the screen, David had his first inkling of doubt. He'd been so sure of it before. It'd been an obvious choice. As sure as the sun rising above the horizon each day. But now? His fingers itched for a cigarette. Anything to stifle and take his mind away from the thoughts swirling around his head.
***
You looked over at them. The boys had been silent ever since you started the movie, until it ended. When it did, you waited for them to speak. It took a moment, but David finally said,
"That was- You shot that?" He asked, and you nodded. He was quiet for another moment, and it unnerved you. For a moment, you thought that you'd done something wrong. That perhaps you shouldn't have. But Dwayne was quick to say,
"Thank you, y/n. Really." And the others were quick to chorus a mantra of the same.
It took a moment for you and the boys to clean up, but, just before you packed up the set-up, David had walked up to the screen. He reached out for the screen, and the others paused where they stood. It occurred to you then that they were getting one last look, before the five of you packed everything up and went to take it down to the cave.

Beca gets an odd request from a stranger while in Paris

happy birthday @green-eyed-weirdo  🥰 I hope you like it!

“Dude, is this really necessary?”
Stacie hums. “It’s French fashion.”
Beca rolls her eyes. “I feel like if that were true, we would have seen some people wearing it by now. This just screams ‘I’m an American tourist’ to me.”
Stacie ignores her, adjusting the beret over her head as she stands in front of the mirror. “I think I look sexy with this. Very… chic.”
“Great. If you decide to walk around with that and a baguette under your arm I’m going solo on our tour.”
Stacie plucks another beret from the shelf and screws it over Beca’s head. “Aw, you look like Gavroche.”
“Fuck you, dude,” Beca mutters, taking it off and flattening her hair with her palm as she places the hat back in its initial spot. “I’m hungry.”
“You’re always hungry,” Stacie points out, and Beca can’t really contradict her.
Once Stacie has finally picked one of those ridiculous hats, they head up the cobblestone street and find themselves a brasserie (one of those restaurants where you can get just a drink or have a full meal) for lunch. It’s pretty hot (a bit too hot for Beca’s taste, but she’s hopefully applied enough sunscreen not to resemble a lobster by the end of the day) in Paris that day, but they find shelter under one of those huge parasols, a gentle breeze sweeping in ever so often as they gaze at the food options.
Melodic giggles draw Beca’s focus away from the badly translated menu and towards two tables over to her left. They belong to a redhead, who just happens to be as radiant as her laughter, and Beca finds herself staring a beat too long, catching Stacie’s attention.
“She’s cute.”
Beca’s cheeks heat up as soon as she realizes she’s been caught, and she looks back at her menu so quickly something in her neck twitches. She clears her throat. “What are you talking about?”
“Aww, you adorable baby bisexual. You should go talk to her. Or buy her a drink.”
“Dude, no,” Beca hisses.
Stacie is silent for a few beats, clearly listening in. “She’s American.”
Beca makes a noncommittal sound. “And?”
Stacie leans over, a smirk curving her lips. “Imagine how romantic it would be, you two meeting in Paris and finding each other again in the States. That’s Nicholas Sparks shit right here.”
Beca finds Stacie’s eyes over the menu. “You seem to have forgotten a slight detail: I don’t know how to talk to women.”
Stacie’s eyes roll skyward. “Maybe you should try.”
The waiter thankfully puts a temporary end to the conversation, and once he’s gone with their orders, Beca sees that so is the redhead and her friend.
“Well, there goes your Parisian romance,” Stacie says, sighing softly.
Beca doesn’t really think about the stranger again, not until the end of the day. Stacie insists on heading to the Eiffel Tower to catch the sunset (and probably take a bunch of pictures for her influencer Instagram account), and Beca ignores her aching feet, feeling like she’s already been complaining a lot today.
“Hi there.”
Beca twists her head to the left to find the stranger from the cafe. Her blue eyes nearly make her stumble. “Um, hi?”
“So this might sound really weird, but I’ve always wanted a romantic picture in front of the Eiffel Tower and my boyfriend just dumped me before this trip and well, I was wondering if you’d pose with me?”
That’s a lot of information in five seconds, and Beca blinks twice in slow succession. “Pose, as in…?”
“As in, kiss me?”
She hears Stacie gasp beside her and doesn’t even want to spare her a glance. Her ears feel like they just caught on fire and her voice is nowhere to be found.
It’s only when Stacie jabs her elbow into her ribs that Beca says something. “I, uh, I-- what?”
Well, close to saying something.
The other woman giggles. “You’re really cute. And I asked if you’d like to take a photo with me.”
“Kissing,” Beca echoes, just to make sure.
The redhead grimaces. “Sorry, you’re totes creeped out. I’ll find someone else.”
“She’ll do it,” Stacie announces before Beca can say anything else.
“What, dude,” Beca interjects.
“If you don’t I will,” Stacie mutters, and that shoves Beca into motion.
“Um yeah, sure,” she tells the stranger. A shaky nod. “I’ll do it.”
“Awes!” She hands Stacie her phone. “My friend Aubrey can take the pic.”
Beca notices the blonde standing off to the side and waves awkwardly before her friend slides her hand into hers and tugs her forward. Beca’s heart starts to race a little as they come to a stop at the top of the stairs splaying out over the Trocadero gardens.
“Wait, what’s your name?” The stranger asks, seemingly as an afterthought.
“Um, Beca,” Beca says.
“Nice to meet you, Beca. I’m Chloe.”
Beca nods, tongue poking out to wet her lips. “Cool. Cool, cool, cool. So um,” she wipes her hands over her jeans. “How should we…”
“I’ll just kiss you now,” Chloe says, amusement clear in her tone.
Beca wants to dig herself a hole. But that thought vanishes as soon as Chloe starts leaning in, and her eyes slam shut the moment those soft, full lips brush against hers in a gentle kiss. She hears herself humming as her head tilts forward to chase the remaining distance between them, pushing a firmer kiss against Chloe’s mouth. It’s Chloe’s turn to make a sound this time, and Beca nearly forgets her own name.
She instantly forgets about the photo, and the fact that Chloe is a stranger, too caught up in how good this feels to really care. She does, however, come to her senses when she starts to lack oxygen and pulls away with a sheepish smile, her cheeks flaming.
“Damn…” Chloe murmurs, eyes alight. “I picked well.”
Beca clears her throat and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, avoiding her eyes. “Glad I could be of service,” she mumbles with an awkward salute.
(yes, yes, a goddamn salute because she’s a fucking dork.)
Chloe giggles and Beca suddenly feels high on the sound. “Too bad my friend and I have to leave tonight. I could have definitely gone for an encore performance.”
Beca isn’t sure how redder her face can get before it matches the shade of her plaid shirt. “That’s uh, too bad.”
“Well thanks for doing it for me,” Chloe says with a wink, then kisses her cheek. “Bye, Beca.”
“Bye,” Beca murmurs, somewhat still in a kiss-induced daze as she watches her go.
“Holy crap, dude,” Stacie says when she catches up with her. “You totally made out with her.”
Beca chuckles, rubbing the back of her neck. “We um, got carried away?”
Stacie punches her arm. “Tell me you got her number.”
Beca shakes her head. “She probably lives like, in LA or something.”
“Oh my god, you’re such an idiot.”
Beca has to agree; she’s the biggest idiot in the world.
The rest of their trip goes smoothly. Beca only has to listen to Stacie having sex once, which is a wonder, considering it’s Stacie, and the two fly back to New York at the end of the week, heads filled with good memories of their trip abroad.
“I still can’t believe you didn’t ask for her number,” Stacie says as they walk out of the arrival gate at JFK.
“Oh my god, would you let it go?” Beca groans, tilting her head back.
“She was so hot.”
“I know,” Beca whines. “But I won’t find her again so let’s just not talk about it anymore.”
“Fine.”
It’s a few days later, as she’s aimlessly scrolling through TikTok as she does every night before bed, that Beca sees it. She almost scrolls past it because ugh, couples, but the yellow summer dress and red hair catch her attention and have her sitting up with a jolt. Her breathes hitches in her throat as she reads the caption:
I hope this cute girl I met in Paris and asked for a pic of us kissing so I could pretend I had a romantic time in France sees this so I can take her out on a date
The video blew up, counting over a million likes and fifteen thousand comments. Her trembling thumb presses on the comment section.
Okay, TikTok, do your thing, we need to find this girl!!
Omg they’re so cute
Imagine they find each other!!
Beca swallows, licking her suddenly dry lips. “Imagine…” she breathes out as she presses on Chloe’s profile picture, hits follow, and then taps Message.
Hey, so… it’s Beca. The girl from Paris?
She locks her phone right after hitting send and buries her face in her palms, emitting a low groan. Her phone pinging less than a minute later makes her heart pound against her ribs. She reaches for it and peeks at the screen with one eye.
omg, hi!! it’s really you?
She figures maybe a few people have sent Chloe a message because hello, who wouldn’t, pretending it was her. So Beca thinks proving it is really her could be a good thing.
If by me you mean the dork who freaking saluted you after our kiss, yep that’s me.
Beca bites down on her bottom lip as she watches the three dots pop up on the screen.
I can’t believe it worked! I’ve been thinking about you a lot since that day.
Butterflies go off in her belly, and before Beca can ponder on how cheesy this is, she’s typing something back.
Me too. That was um, a really good kiss. And you’re pretty.
Oh god, I’m facepalming so hard right now. Sorry I… don’t really know how to talk to girls.
To her surprise, Chloe doesn’t seem put off by it.
You’re very cute. May I ask where you live?
Beca doesn’t want to get her hopes up, because the States are fucking huge, and she doesn’t see herself jumping into a long-distance whatever.
NYC. You?
I go to vet school in Ithaca.
Ithaca. Beca knows it’s in the state, but she googles how close just to make sure. Another message from Chloe comes through.
I’m usually in the city once a month since my best friend lives there. Would you… like to go out on a date when I’m around?
“Dude, chill out,” she mutters to herself when she feels a wave of warmth encompass her entire being.
Sure, yeah. I’d like that.
They exchange numbers and end up texting for most of the evening until Chloe announces she has to head to bed because she has an early lecture the following morning.
Beca is about to turn off the lights too, that idiotic smile still stuck to her lips, when her phone buzzes with a text message from Stacie.
DUDE!!! Watch this NOW
A TikTok link follows, and Beca knows what it is before she even opens it.
Wow. This really blew up, huh.
Stacie’s reply comes through less than five seconds later. That’s all you have to say?! Tell me you’re going to message her. I got dibs on Maid of Honor at your wedding, btw.
Beca rolls her eyes. She ponders telling Stacie but decides to keep Chloe to herself for a while. I’ll think about it.
She’s a fidgeting mess the morning leading up to their date. Chloe told her to meet her by the River Cafe in Dumbo, and Beca has spent entirely too much time deciding on what to wear, which really never happens.
Chloe is already there when she makes it to the park, and Beca buries her hands into her jacket pockets to keep them from wringing together. Chloe doesn’t see her right away, gazing up at the Brooklyn Bridge instead.
“Do you have a thing for iconic iron monuments?” She teases as she approaches, catching Chloe’s attention. She narrows her eyes playfully. “Are you gonna try and kiss me again?” A gasp flies past her lips as she exaggeratedly lies a hand over her chest. “Are you just using me to go viral on TikTok?”
Chloe giggles. “You’re a dork,” she says, grinning. “Hi.”
“Hey,” Beca breathes out, relaxing her shoulders as she smiles back.
“You like ice cream?” Chloe asks, nodding towards the vendor across the grassy area.
“Sure,” Beca says, and they fall into a step towards it. She takes her brain for something to say before things get awkward, but Chloe beats her to it.
“So what’s it like being a TikTok sensation?”
Beca barks out a laugh. “Amazing. One of my life goals for sure,” she jokes, cutting Chloe an amused glance.
Chloe giggles. “I honestly didn’t think it would blow up. But I’m glad it did ‘cause not finding you would have sucked.”
Beca clears her throat, looking down for a second. “Me too. I was really beating myself up for not asking for your number back in Paris.”
Chloe’s lips curve in a small smile, and she looks like she’s about to say something, but it’s their turn to order.
Ice creams in hand, they settle down on the grass to enjoy them. The weather is nice, not too hot with a gentle breeze rolling by once in a while.
“So what are some of your life goals, then?” Chloe asks once they’ve sat down.
“Making a living out of music is the main one,” she says. “I work as assistant producer right now, but the job is pretty crappy.”
“I may or may not have stalked your Instagram,” Chloe admits next. “You have an amazing voice.”
“Oh,” Beca lets out, feeling her cheeks heat up. “Thanks.” She clears her throat. “You’re into music?” Strangely something that hadn’t come up during their texting.
Chloe nods, smiling. “I was in an acapella group in college.”
Beca’s eyebrows shoot up, and she laughs before she can help herself. “Wait, seriously? You’re an acapella nerd?”
Chloe shoves her shoulder, laughing as well. “Shut up.”
“I guess we all make questionable choices in college, huh?”
Chloe huffs, throwing Beca a glare. Beca spots a sprinkle of amusement in her eyes, so she doesn’t think Chloe is truly mad.
“I’m just messing with you,” she says, softening. “I think any kind of music is neat. And singing without instruments is actually pretty impressive.”
“Thanks,” Chloe says lightly. “There’s just… something about music, you know. It soothes the soul and makes you escape the real world for a few minutes.”
A genuine smile curves Beca’s lips. It’s exactly how she would describe what music does to her. “Yeah.”
She eyes Chloe’s profile, still a little bit struck over the fact that this gorgeous girl is on a date with her.
“What?” Chloe asks with curiosity swirling in her eyes when she catches Beca staring.
Beca blinks. “Nothing. I…” she clears her throat. “You’re just really pretty.” She scrunches up her nose. “See? I’m awkward as fuck.”
Chloe chuckles and slides her hand into Beca’s free one. “I think it’s cute.”
Beca grumbles. “I’m not cute, I’m badass.”
Their time together flies by as they learn more about one another, Beca even managing to convince Chloe to show her some acapella videos. The sun sets without either realizing and the park is near empty, save for a couple strolling by in the distance.
“I should head back to Aubrey’s,” Chloe says when it gets a bit chillier. “I said I’d be home for dinner.”
Beca is a bit disappointed, but she nods, smiling. “Okay.”
She pushes to her feet and helps Chloe to hers, her eyes dropping to Chloe’s lips once they’re both standing.
“You know… I didn’t really care about the video,” Chloe murmurs, stepping closer. “I saw you at the restaurant and thought you were really cute. When I spotted you again later, I had to think of something.”
Beca raises an eyebrow. “I noticed you at the restaurant, too.”
“I know. You weren’t being very subtle.”
Beca huffs. “Shut up.”
Chloe simply laughs, her eyes sweeping down to Beca’s lips before she leans in. Beca is a lot less nervous this time around, and she hums as those familiar lips glide over hers flawlessly, her hands bunching up in Chloe’s top as she holds her waist. It’s over way too soon for her liking, but she has to remind herself they’re in public, and how she’ll probably get to do that again very soon.
“See you soon?” Chloe murmurs when they part, brushing her nose against Beca’s.
Beca nods and squeezes her waist. “Yeah.”
With one last kiss, she watches Chloe go in a similar state of a daze as in Paris.
Something tells her this is the start of something amazing.

Stiles: Not To Fall
(Okay, I don't know if yall have heard of Dacre Montgomery... or of DKMH... He plays Jason Scott in 2017's Power Rangers and Billy Hargrove from Stranger Things. He recently released 6 podcast episodes, which he calls beat poetry. And let me tell you, it is phenomenal. I fell in love with them! If you have time ever, you should definitely check it out!
He released them on July 11th. Which was also the 2 year anniversary of Austin's death. Some might remember my best friend's passing from 2 years ago and my post about how it had affected me or even some past updates where I spoke about the loss that I felt. When I heard these, I was in awe. The words mixed with the music hit me a different way than just regular poetry, and his voice... his voice is heaven to my ears.
Like I'm attracted to his voice-- Guys imagine his voice during sex. Oof.
Anyways these next 6 updates are inspired by his poems. They aren't based on them necessarily but are inspired by.
I really hope you like them & I really hope you like this one.)
That was my note from Wattpad, when I read over this I cried. And decided not to edit it or revise it.
~
Inspired by Not To Fall
Written by Dacre Montgomery
~
Stiles' POV
I sat on the hard cold rock, looking out to a beautiful sunset. My heart heavy with grief. It's been exactly three months since Y/n died, as well as Allison. Not at my hands directly but of the nogistune. It hasn't been easy for Scott and me.
I sighed looking at the locket in my hands, I had given Y/n this locket the day I knew I had fallen for her. She was my light at the end of the tunnel. When I realized I'd fallen for her, it felt like I could finally breathe. I put a photo of us on one side and a photo of her late father on the other. When I had given it to her I said...
"It's so this way you can carry the men who love you close to your heart every day," I said as I clasp the necklace securely around her neck, the locket falling above her heart. Y/n turned around to face me, a smile plastered on her face, a tear falling down her cheek. When she looked up to me, my stomach flips. I am so in love with this girl.
"You love me?" She whispered, searching my face for my tell. When she didn't find it, her eyes beamed. She pulled me into a tight hug, giggling into my chest.
"Of course I love you, how could I not?" I muttered into her soft hair, wrapping my arms around her, pulling her close and tight.
"I love you, thank you for the locket," She pulled away enough to look up to me. I looked down at her and smiled, leaning my head down to place a gentle kiss on her lips.
"Stiles?" My dad's voice pulled me out of the daydream of the memory, I sniffled and wiped the tears that had fallen down my cheeks. I heard footsteps nearing, realizing it wasn't just my dad. My dad, Scott, Isaac, and Lydia sat on the dirt around me looking out to the yellow and orange sky.
"I miss her," I sniffled, finally speaking up.
"We all do. We all miss Y/n and Allison every single day." Scott says, his voice shaky and uneven.  I looked up from Y/n's and I's photo to Scott. Tears brimming his eyes.
"Her perfume is fading from my room, the sweaters she wore. They're starting to smell like me. I can't smell her anymore." I cried softly, closing the locket and holding it against my chest. Scott pulled me into a hug, my dad placing a caring hand on my shoulder as I cried into Scott's shoulder.
"We know the feeling." my dad spoke up after my cries had died down. I looked to him and noticed the sad expression on his face.
"When we first lost Claudia, I never washed her clothes. I kept them hanging in there for years!" He spoke softly but clearly.
"Melissa was able to find a bottle of perfume she used. I sprayed it everywhere, every day. Until one day the brand discontinued that scent. I realized I had to keep her alive in my memory. Stiles, I'm not saying move on, but you do need to cope with the loss." My dad added with a caring tone of voice.
"I know the type of perfume she used," Lydia spoke up softly. "I can get you a bottle, whenever you're consumed with the grief you could spray it on something and remind yourself she's gone but not forgotten."
"I'd appreciate it." I wiped my eyes of the tears.
"Gone but not forgotten. Keep her memory alive but, don't become all consumed. She'll always be your first love." My dad reminded me, patting my back gently.
"Thank you, all of you. Even you Isaac, thank you." I said looking to Mr.Scarf with a small smile.
I looked to the colorful sunset, Y/n's and I's thing was sunsets. My stomach flips as it reminded me of the first time Y/n and I kissed. We were lost in the woods, trying to find my car, we went to try and have a peaceful picnic date but we ended up getting lost. We decided to just set up a picnic right there and watch the sunset. When we kissed I felt as if I'd been sleepwalking my entire life & her kiss awoke me. But now I'll stay awake for her and me.

the wind’s goodbye - zeke one shot
summary: this was requested! reader is a warrior about to be sent to paradis with the younger warriors. zeke comes to talk to reader the night before the warriors have to leave for paradis. hope y’all enjoy
—————————————————
you leaned against the edge of the wooden railing of the dock that extended pasts the marley shores. you looked out at the sky, shifting your position every once in a while - which prompted the aged and peeling wood of the railing to whine out a high pitched croak.
the wind made it’s next of several visits again, carrying your hair out into the air, and letting it face the pale blue sky that was dotted with clouds that just started to settle in.
your hair slowly settled back down, and a reluctant sigh escaped your lips as you dumped all of your thoughts out into the marley sea.
but no matter how long you thought about it, you couldn’t wrap your head around the idea of going to paradis. your marleyan teacher called it the island of devils, a place where unhealed eldians roam.
in a way you wanted to be happy. years of training and you could finally call yourself an honorary marleyan. a warrior.
but the more you thought about it, the less it made sense. this never ending battle against peace was something that always made your head spin. the amount of hours you spent thinking about the people back on paradis made you crazy.
before you could venture down a familiar void of thoughts, a fond voice interrupted you.
“i’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
you didn’t have to turn around to know who’s voice it was. the old wood of the dock’s floor creaked with each step that zeke took closer to you until his feet finally rested in a position right next to yours.
zeke leaned against the railing and placed his head in his hands, mimicking your position.
you looked over at him for just a few seconds, analyzing his face. his hair was the way it had always been for the years that you knew him. split into a middle part with golden strands that ended right above his ears. you watched the strands move up slightly as the wind carried them out of his face.
“the weather’s nice, right?” he looked over at you.
you didn’t answer. instead turning your head back to its original position, staring off at the sky.
he looked away after a few seconds of silence, “we were looking everywhere for you. the captains wanted to do a special dinner before we sent you guys out.”
you stayed silent again while you watched the sky’s pale blue slowly turn into a mix of peach and yellow as the sun began to sink into the horizon.
zeke spoke again, “did you see the new candidates? they’re all so small, i can’t believe we used to be that tiny.” the sound of his voice echoed through your head.
“why are you here zeke?” you asked.
he stayed silent for a few moments, letting the next gush of wind make it’s course through the shore.
“you’re leaving tomorrow. i feel like we haven’t talked in forever.”
“what is there to talk about?” you muttered.
zeke ignored your question to ask another one of his own. “how long do you think you guys will be gone?”
“dunno,” you sighed, “could be forever.”
you both stood in each others silence for several minutes, watching the sky fully transform into vibrant hues of pink, orange and yellow.
“don’t die, okay?” zeke finally mutteted, still holding his eyes on the sunset, “come back safe.”
zeke had gradually grown more cold hearted as the two of you grew up. more centered around reality and logistics, and philosophy and all that smart people stuff. it wasn’t really like him to make rash suggestions such as ordering you to stay alive.
“okay,” you responded, not really knowing what else to say.
you could feel his eyes burning through the side of your head.
“that doesn’t sound very promising.” he stated.
“i can’t promise my survival, zeke.” you said in a somewhat harsh tone. he could tell that you were holding back tears by the shakiness of your voice.
zeke stepped closer to you, his entire body facing you instead of just his head this time.
“live. and come back to tell me stories about what it was like there.” the calmness of his voice contrasted the sharpness that yours had just minutes ago.
when you turned your head towards him he was only a couple inches away. the sky had turned his face a light shade of orange. you blinked, letting a single tear roll down your cheek.
“promise me.” he said in a whisper, just loud enough that only you could hear it.
he studied your face as if he was trying to memorize your features.
so much has changed between the two of you since you first met. you felt like you had matured past the silly crush you used to have on him, but your heart couldn’t help skip a beat when you noticed how close he was to you.
“i promise” your eyes met his and then quickly darted off to the distance, trying not to keep eye contact with him for too long.
his hand made its way to your cheek, wiping away the tear that rested there. another rush of wind carried itself through the both of you, having your hair float up and face that sky that was now a bright orange.
he took another step closer to you, his eyes still fixated on yours, and his thumb rubbing small circles into your cheek.
and before zeke could close the space between the two of you, the wind carried his lips into yours.

Love is a Bundle of Contradictions.
This artwork was a piece I commissioned from @shimmeryspark!
... There is no explanation for this other than my friends encouraged me to write Valentine’s Day Raven and Jade fluff, since the main saga is a bit lot of angst right now. (Special thanks to @twstpasta since they let me borrow their twstsona for plot reasons :9)
Imagine this...
Tumblr media
“You WHAT?!”
“Ehehe~ Sorry...!! I guess I went and made a bad decision, heehoo~” Mac stuck out their tongue and lightly bonked their own head with a fist. “Silly me~”
“Making a deal with Azul is the very definition of a bad decision,” Raven groaned, slapping a hand to her face. “I... I cannot believe you. Dare I ask what the conditions were?”
“I gave him my taste buds! He said he’ll give them back if you help out with stocking up on supplies for the Mostro Lounge.”
“That’s... suspiciously simple. And you really just handed over your taste buds just like that? You can’t taste your beloved cheese anymore.”
“I know!” Mac pouted. “It’s so sad, so you’ll help this rataroni out, right?”
“I find it odd that Azul is demanding my assistance, seeing as how I am not the one that made the deal with him to begin with. However... I cannot turn my back on a friend in need. I will lend you a helping wing—er, hand.”
“Sweet, sweet!!” Mac clasped Raven’s hands happily. “Just remember to show up this Sunday afternoon. Meet up’s in the town square. Oh, and be sure to wear something cute!”
“Something cute? Why would...”
“It’s part of the deal—so you just gotta, okay? That’s what Azul said!” Mac paused, before adding, “Oh, oh! And bring some homemade choco in a heart-shaped box!! That’s another contract condition!”
“Oh... O-Okay...?”
Tumblr media
Raven leaned back against a lamp post, anxiously winding a finger around the string of small pearls at her collarbone. In her other hand was a bag, and in that bag, a heart-shaped box of homemade chocolates—just as Mac had told her.
A silver heart-shaped charm dangled from the necklace, lying still against her real hammering heart. Rarely did she venture out into the local town—and, standing there by her lonesome, the raven felt out of place and awkward.
An addendum to a story that had already been penned.
She watched as her silver charm caught a wink of sun and guided the light down its curve. Reflected back in the charm’s surface was the raven herself.
Today, her inky hair was cast up in a high pigtail and secured with a cobalt ribbon. She had traded her usual outfit for a pale blouse with billowy puff sleeves, white stockings, and a high waist skirt in a plaid pattern—cobalt, like her ribbons.
I hope this satisfies the conditions of the deal.
Raven checked the time on her phone; any minute now, Azul would be showing up, and they’d get this over with. Then she could return to her attic to roost, and Mac could return to feasting on cheese and inhaling poison—
“Oya. Do my eyes deceive me, or is that you, Miss Raven?” a silken cadence called out to her, rising above the hustle and bustle of the town.
“... You,” she responded flatly, narrowing her eyes at a certain eel as he parted from a crowd.
Ah.
Jade, too, had abandoned his typical uniform in favor of casual comfort. He wore a pair of dress pants and a grey turtleneck—and over it was a brown trench coat, unbuttoned to show off how snugly that sweater fit against his lean, muscular body.
Raven squinted. His earring was slightly different today as well. Rather than three diamond shaped sturgeon scales dangling from his ear, there were heart shaped ones. Blue and glassy, like the calm sea after a storm.
His hands were polite folded behind his back... hiding something. Whatever that something was, petals of pink, red, and yellow-orange were poking out.
If she didn’t know any better, she would have said he looked handsome—and innocent—enough. But she did know better.
“What are you doing here?” Raven demanded, no longer playing with her necklace. Her hands went to her sides, curling into balls.
“Fufufu. The town is a public space. I am free to come and go as I please, the very same as you.” Jade tilted his head to one side. “Although today, I am here on an errand. The Mostro Lounge is short on centerpiece supplies, you see. I have been sent to restock.”
“What a coincidence. I’m also here to help the Mostro Lounge restock,” Raven said, a bit of bitterness slipping into her voice, “as per a contract.”
Jade attempted to appear sympathetic—but he allowed a cruel chuckle to escape him. “I see now. I was not aware that you were the one indebted to Octavinelle, Miss Raven. Had I known sooner, I would not have hesitated to summon you to fill in for Kon-san’s morning shift.”
“I’m not a waitress for you to order around.” Raven jutted out her chin defiantly. “I’m here strictly on business, so if you would kindly leave me be...!!”
“I believe you said you had to assist the Mostro Lounge. Would it not be prudent, then, to go about tending to that duty rather than standing about and looking like a lost lamb?”
“Sh-Shut up! It’s not my fault that Azul is running late...!!”
“You were waiting for Azul?” Jade said, his brows pinching together briefly. “You are terribly mistaken. It is not Azul who is assisting you with the restock, but myself.”
“... Beg pardon?”
Wear something cute, bring homemade chocolates, Mac had said. And it has to be you, Raven, not me! But why? Slowly, slowly... The pieces of the puzzle fell into place.
A thought dawned on Raven:
I’ve definitely been tricked.
“Well!! That’s all fine and dandy, but I think I shall be on my way home now. I really must be having a chat with a friend of mine,” she babbled, turning on her heel. They’re going to be buried in tomato sauce when I get to them.
“How cruel of you to abandon those in need, Miss Raven. And to think that Mac-san shall be without their taste buds... and I, burdened with the task of restocking by my lonesome. What a tragic way to spend Valentine’s Day,” Jade exhaled deeply and wiped at an imaginary tear. “Shikushikushiku...”
Raven’s left eye twitched. “Don’t you paint me as the bad guy here...!!”
“Aren’t you?” Jade challenged, a smile still plastered on his face despite his mocking tone.
“Grrr...!!” She whipped around, thrusting an index finger at him. “Listen here... Leech!! The only reason I am even here was to help someone out of a contract your shady boss roped them into!”
“If you are as selfless and loving as you claim to be, then you should have no issues with shopping with me,” Jade countered smoothly. “After all, they say that actions speak louder than words.”
The little bird vibrated with irritation, her cheeks puffed out in a pout. Her stomach coiled tight, uneasiness brewing. As much as she hated to admit to it, he was right.
Raven clenched her teeth and sent a glare his way. “Fine...!! But I will be keeping an eye on you to ensure that there is no funny business!”
“Then by all means, ‘keep an eye on me’, and do not let your gaze stray for even a single moment,” Jade chuckled, somehow sneering through his smile. “I welcome it.”
The eel held out a hand to Raven. “We’d best not be separated while on our errand.”
She stared hesitantly. Her eyes flickered between his eyes and the hand he offered. Subtle changes in her expression occurred in rapid succession—the raising of her lids, the tremble to her lower lip, the tinge to her cheeks.
“... Yeah. We’d best not,” Raven finally agreed, her grip on her bag—the bag containing her chocolates—tightened. “Which is precisely why I will follow you at a safe distance.”
“Ah, but that would ruin the surprise.”
“What, the bouquet? You’re not exactly doing a masterful job of hiding it.”
“Nor are you doing well to hide your little surprise, Miss Raven.”
“I was deceived. This chocolate is not meant for you.”
“I didn’t say that it was, now did I?”
“... I’m going to eat them myself, then. That’ll show you!”
“Do with it what you wish, for selfish purposes or not,” Jade laughed, revealing his bouquet—all the colors of the setting sun. “These flowers, on the other hand, are meant to be gifted...”
He pushed the bouquet toward Raven. Up close, the flowers seemed even more vibrant and beautiful. Their warm hues enveloping the raven, enchanting her senses. Mesmerized, she reached out to accept the flowers—when Jade suddenly clicked his tongue and pulled them away.
“But alas—not to you,” he teased, pressing a finger to his lips. “Do try to keep up with me now, Miss Raven.”
Jade turned and dove into a sea of townspeople, leaving a trail of sunset-colored petals in his wake. And, like the fool that she was, a fuming raven stormed after him—chocolates still in hand. Heart quivering.
Tumblr media
Terrariums—the flowers were meant for terrariums all along.
Jade had taken his sweet time leading her down a winding path and to an art supply store tucked away in a corner, and even longer to observe the shape and feel of each terrarium container. Spherical, cuboidal, prismatic... Holding up the bouquet every so often to compare how the flowers would look in each.
In the end, he had gone wild with his purchases, electing to buy a selection of shapes, along with other supplies—just to keep himself amused. Jade had paid with a platinum card embossed with Octavinelle’s logo. Mostro Lounge Master Cash Card, it read. Azul’s property; do not steal! Sign the loaning form if you must borrow.
It was all for the terrariums, for business as usual.
I should have realized sooner. Stupid, stupid, Raven scolded herself.
She grunted, struggling to carry the bagful of terrarium supplies that Jade had saddled her with, while he carried one of his own without any trouble. The eel cast her a mocking glance over his shoulder.
“Are you in need of a break, Miss Raven?”
Bite me, she wanted to snap back—but a bark of pain shot up her arms, silencing her defiance. “... M-Maybe.”
He sighed in an exaggerated fashion. “Very well. I see a café up ahead. We can rest there for a few moments, though it may require the purchase of a food item if we wish for a table.”
“Sounds peachy.”
Together, they swept through the café doors. The duo was immediately greeted by the smell of sugar and the hum of the other patrons, many of them couples.
Raven stiffened at the sight, turning a deep shade of red. Suddenly, she was very, very aware of how she—and Jade—looked.
“I think I changed my mi—“ Raven was cut off when he grasped her hand and held fast. She jolted back, her skin turning clammy. “Eeep! Wh-What are you...”
“Table for two,” Jade requested of an employee. “We do not intend to stay for a large meal, so just an ice-cream parfait will do.”
“Certainly, sir. Right this way.” The server quickly seated them, and with a bow, departed to retrieve their order.
“... You can let go of my hand now,” Raven hissed, attempting to free herself. To no avail, initially. She tugged again, and finally broke free, aggressively rubbing at her hand to ward off the residual eel cooties.
Jade chuckled, tucking his strand of black hair behind his ear. His earring glimmered in the afternoon sunlight pouring in through wide windows. “Play along. You are aware that today is Valentine’s Day, yes?”
“Yes, but I do not understand what that has to do with... physical contact, especially seeing as how we are not engaged in that kind of a relationship.”
“It is simple.” He laced his fingers together, resting his chin on them. With the most serene of smiles, Jade purred, “We should take advantage of the couple discounts being offered at eateries such as this. An excellent way to save on spending, especially after that particularly large purchase made on the Mostro Lounge’s coin.”
“You’re a shrewd one.”
“Why, thank you.”
Raven’s hands curled in her lap. Her lips pursed, she found her gaze trained on the white lace of the tablecloth, rather than on her dining companion.
Time and time again, she has been tricked today, told white lies. Teased and deceived. It was simply how he was—and though it did irk her in some ways, it also never made a moment dull.
Hot and cold. Push and pull. Bitter and sweet. That was Jade Leech.
“Your parfait is here!!” The server from before popped up in her periphery, startling the raven from her thoughts. They set it down and stepped back. “Here you are—enjoy your date!”
“Thank you. We certainly will,” Jade reacted before Raven could and dismissed the server with a wave. “... Well, let’s dig in.”
“You didn’t correct them.”
“We won’t get the discount if they don’t believe this farce,” he replied calmly, nudging the parfait and a spoon toward her. “Now then, less talking and more eating. You need your strength if you plan on helping me haul all the supplies back to campus.”
She let out a huff, but dug her spoon into a frozen mound. The parfait was massive, composed of several scoops of pink, blue, and green ice-cream, flanked by chocolate wafer bars. With a smattering of sprinkles, a crown of whipped cream, and a maraschino cherry on top, the dessert looked absolutely picture perfect.
Raven steadily brought a spoonful of pink goop into her mouth, allowing a sweet bubblegum flavor to spread across her tongue. Her eyes cut to Jade, who had not bothered to sample any for himself. He smiled back, gaze half-lidded as if recalling a fond memory.
“Have some, too. I feel weird eating it alone—and you must be hungry too. I know how big your appetite is.” Raven pushed the parfait glass toward him.
“If you insist.”
The head of his spoon sunk into a green scoop with shards of chocolate chip weaved throughout. It pulled away cleanly with a large mound, which was soon consumed. Then another bite, and a third, a fourth... Before Raven knew it, a good third of the parfait was missing.
Jade patted his mouth with a napkin, eyeing her expectantly.
“Are you still hungry?” Raven asked, eyebrows raising. She retrieved a scoop of blue this time—vaguely flavored like a medley of fruits.
“Perhaps... though I do not plan on taking more of the parfait for myself. Were I to, there would be none left for you.”
The fruit seemed to sour in her mouth. It was true that she was hungry, yes—but at the same time, she did not wish for Jade to be left dissatisfied.
She frowned, setting her spoon down and reaching into her bag. Seconds later, she produced a heart-shaped package and shoved it at him.
“Here, chocolates. They’re yours now, since I have no other use for them,” Raven mumbled insistently. “You can eat them now, or save them for later. Just hurry up and take them before I change my mind.”
“Oya, it is rather bold to profess your undying love to me in such a public space.” Jade teased, chuckling lightly into his hand.
“B-Be quiet...!! We... We can’t get that couple’s discount if one of us passes out from hunger.”
“Fufufu. I doubt that either of us would.” His mismatched eyes twinkled with mirth. “... Thank you for the sweets, Miss Raven. I will be certain to savor every last bite.”
Tumblr media
The town became even busier in the late afternoon, filing with the sound of street performers and spectators. A monkey in a vest and a small hat barreled by Raven’s feet as she and Jade exited the café, nearly causing her to double over. A chorus of children’s laughter chased after the monkey—and she, the raven, stumbled on her recovery.
“Perhaps now would be a good time to reconsider my offer,” Jade suggested, a hand on the small of her back to support her. That same hand trailed around and tickled the back of hers. “It would be a shame if we lost one another in this crowd.”
Raven regarded him with a pointed look, but slipped her hand into his without further resistance. “... Only because I have to.”
“Of course, of course.”
Together, they braved the bustling streets.
A new world unfolded before Raven’s very eyes. Costumed performers of all kinds paraded about, garnering attention from passerbys. Some tossed confetti and candies, others brandished instruments. Brass, strings, percussion—all their notes floated up into the festive atmosphere.
There went a dancer, leaping like a lithe deer, limbs outstretched and the flowy fabric of their uniform like a curtain of smoke. And here was an artist perched on a stool, sketching the outline of a woman posed on a wooden crate. A young man jingled a tambourine, trying to catch coins in his cap.
A number of food carts patrolled the roads, calling out their wares. Crepes, sandwiches, sodas... Families, friends, and couples lining benches, exchanging bites.
Love was truly in the air and oozing out of every pore of the community.
Raven couldn’t keep her head still. She turned this way and that, trying to soak up every last sight and sound. Her golden eyes sparkled with wonder.
Jade, of course, took note. “Excited, are you?”
“It’s very different than Night Raven College,” she replied shyly. “Almost like a magic kingdom.”
“Magic kingdom? You can be rather melodramatic at times.”
“Yeah? So can you and Azul and Floyd, with all your fake tears...” Her wandering eyes caught something bright red as she spoke. “Oh...!! Look.”
Raven tugged on Jade’s hand, urging him to a halt. Her gaze was transfixed on a lamp post with a multitude of red strings. At the other ends of those ribbons were heart-shaped balloons, as red as blood.
His eyebrows pinched together in mocking sympathy. “You truly are fascinated by the simplest things. Is it true what they say? That ravens are attracted to shiny objects?”
Her mouth flew open to protest, but she was interrupted by a woman by the balloon-bearing lamp post “You there!! Sir with the earring and ma’am with the blue ribbon! Care for some balloons?”
“Er... What are they for?” Raven asked.
“For love, of course,” the woman laughed. “Today’s all about appreciating one another, right? This is my way of spreading love.”
She separated three balloons from her bundle and offered them with a flourish. Raven eagerly accepted them, staring up in wonder at their floating bodies.
“Oh, and one more thing!!” The woman produced a red ribbon from her jacket pocket and nodded at the duo. “Your pinkie fingers, please!”
Raven held out her hand as directed, letting the woman secure the ribbon in a neat little knot. The balloon bearer extended the length of the ribbon, glancing to Jade. Raven, too, looked at him expectantly. Jade expelled a quiet sigh and allowed the red ribbon to be tied to his pinkie.
“There you go!” the woman declared triumphantly. “You’re all set now! Enjoy the rest of your Valentine’s Day, folks!”
“Thank you!” Raven shouted over her shoulder—even as Jade started to lead her away. The woman waved and waved until she was out of sight.
“... It has been a while since I have seen you this enthusiastic,” Jade remarked with a glance to the balloons. “I do suppose it is a departure from the monotony of daily life, but to think that such little things bring this amount of joy...”
“It reminds me of a story a little birdie once told me,” Raven chirped with a small giggle. “The story of the Red Thread of Fate.”
“Oh?” Jade raised an eyebrow. “Do tell.”
“The Red Thread of Fate is said to connect ‘destined people’. It can tangle, twist, or stretch, but it can never break. From the moment you are born, you have an unseen thread flowing from your pinkie finger, tying your fate to that of the person on the other end,” Raven recited, her tone turning solemn—her storytelling voice.
“Someday,” she said, “you will cross paths with the one that shares your thread, and your lives will be forever changed by the encounter. It could be a meaningful battle between rivals, the loss of a loved one, the promise of marriage... but the course of their stories will never again be the same.”
“How sentimental. And what, pray tell, does this red thread of ours mean, Miss Raven?” Jade questioned, lifting his end of the ribbon—the crimson shining in the sunlight.
“How would I know? I’m not a god,” she huffed. “It’s just fun to imagine the possibilities.”
“It is, indeed. Even so, surely there must be one favored conclusion to the story of the Red Thread of Fate in that pretty little head of yours.” He brought a hand to his mouth, yanking Raven toward him.
She glanced up with a glare. “I’d have to have a bird brain to tell you that.”
“Is that not the duty of a storyteller? To stand on stage and tell the tale until the curtain closes. Your adoring audience awaits.”
“You’re being booted from the metaphorical theater before you get to hear or see the ending.”
“I would like to see you try.”
Jade slowed to a stop, Raven following suit. They were back in the town square, by the lamp post where they had met up. Ending where it had all begun.
He pulled out his phone and consulted the time. Jade unlocked his device, quickly wrote up a message, and tucked it away again. “I can take it from here.”
“Are you sure?”
“Absolutely. Besides,” Jade cast a pitiful look at Raven’s trembling arms, “I doubt you would be able to haul those supplies the remainder of the way, and certainly not in an efficient manner.”
“... Then what was the point of stating in the contract that you needed a helping hand?”
“I am afraid that even I am not entirely privy as to Azul’s intentions,” he chuckled, gently prying a bag from her hands. “I will be certain to let Azul know that Mac-san’s end of the contract has been fulfilled.”
“Eh...? But—“
“You have our thanks for lending the Mostro Lounge your time. You are free to go now, Miss Raven. I’ve already summoned Floyd in your stead to assist me.”
“Th-The ribbon, you fool! I can’t leave if I’m still bound to you!”
“Oh? You don’t say.” His singsong held no concern whatsoever, only amusement.
“S-Stop playing dumb! You know very well what you are doing!!”
“You said it yourself, Miss Raven. Our lives have been forever changed since our encounter. There is no going back now.”
“Stop manipulating the narrative to suit your needs.”
“I haven’t the faintest clue what you mean. Jade smiled, feigning innocence. “You’ve resigned yourself to spending the rest of the day with me—at least until Floyd arrives to relieve you of your burden. Ah, but given his moodiness, who knows when that will be.”
“Just because your surname is Leech doesn’t mean you need to suck the life out of me like one,” Raven snapped. She reached for the red ribbon, intending to undo it—
—only to be met with a bouquet a second time. Flowers the color of the sunset, smelling like the drip of sunshine and a cut of meadow.
“For you—no strings attached this time.”
“Those are for the terrarium centerpieces.”
“I can easily replace them,” Jade insisted, “and I must repay you for your kind chocolate gift. Consider this... ‘favors for favors’, so that neither one of us is left indebted to the other.”
“... Alright. I’ll take them, but only because they might be useful for brewing some new inks.”
“I’m glad to see that you are being agreeable.” Jade slipped the flowers to her. “Take good care of them.”
Raven leaned against a lamp post, cradling the large bouquet in one arm. Her heart fluttered, and her limbs felt as light as air. Warm and floaty, like the balloons in her hand.
Favors for favors—but it still counted as a gift from Jade, and that very thought sent her mind spiraling. She took a shaky breath, and focused on the confetti and laughter in the distance, the song and dance of the street performers.
Waiting and waiting for Floyd.
“Miss Raven.”
“What now? Haven’t you bullied me enough for today? Are you still not satisfied, you sadist?”
She dared to lift her eyes to meet Jade’s—and her heart stood still, for he looked back. His sharp eyes soft and shrouded by long lashes, his lips pulled into a tender smile.
“Contract or no, I always enjoy my time with you—I enjoyed today,” Jade murmured. “I hope that we are able to do this again sometime.”
“... Shut up. J-Just shut up already, i-it’s embarrassing listening to you speak...!!” She buried her head in the flowers, concealing her pink face. Still feeling floaty, like a balloon, high on happiness.
“Fufufu. Happy Valentine’s Day, Miss Raven.”

A/N: Here it is. On the very last night of September, I have completed @anlian-aishang's September Collab piece. I hope you like this soft and playful Zeke. This was actually so fun to write!! I haven't written an actual fic in a while, so this was good :) Reblogs are much appreciated! ~Birch<3
Tumblr media
A light breeze wafted through the air, rustling the leaves that were just starting to change from their summer green to the lovely shades of burnt oranges and warm yellows. The valley was a myriad of colors and noises, with the gentle whisper of the grass underfoot and the creaking of old apple tree limbs.
Fall was in full effect, and you couldn’t be happier. The apple farm you were visiting was gorgeous, apple trees of all shapes and sizes dotted your vision as far as the horizon would allow you to view.
Apples of dark reds, pale yellows, and lush greens hung heavily from the trees around you. A smile makes its way onto your face as you walk hand in hand with your lover.
A man of sarcastic comments, two-toned words, and questionable decisions. Zeke Yeager.
But with you, it was comments that were as fresh and sweet as that bite of candied apple. It was the chaste kiss on the forehead that somehow reminded you of your pumpkin-scented candle’s flame, wavering but constant.
Zeke’s love was one that only a few ever got to experience, and it was ever-changing like the leaves around you. Yet it was sturdy like the woven basket in your hands, full of hidden secrets and treats like the apples resting on the bottom of it.
“Sweetheart?” his deep voice comes, quiet as to not startle you. A hum leaves your lips as you grasp an apple off of the tree you were standing next to, placing the fruit tenderly into the basket so you don't bruise it.
“Yes?” you ask back, turning to him with a sweet smile, your eyes twinkling in that of the sunset that was growing with warm colors. Zeke is standing behind you, a few apples in his hands and a small smile resting on his lips.
You realize that you were hogging the basket, and you offer it to him, allowing him to put all of his apples into it. A short giggle leaves your lips as you say, “Sorry babe, I must have gotten distracted. Let’s stick together, okay?”
Your lover gives you a nod, but slyly slides the basket out of your arms with a huff of, “A lady shouldn’t be carrying something so heavy.” You roll your eyes as you latch onto one of his arms, tugging him toward an apple tree you had yet to visit.
“Zeke, look! This one has green apples on it, all of ours are red and yellow. We should get some of these!” you exclaim, pulling away to start grabbing the biggest apples you could. You can hear Zeke chuckle behind you, but you ignore him and continue to pick, occasionally turning to put them in your growing basket.
You were so focused on the apples closest to the trunk that you didn't see your cheeky lover. And then it hits you. Literally. The big idiot threw an apple at you, softly tossing it at your arm.
A whine falls from your lips at the slight pain and the apple that was in your hand that now lays cracked on the ground. You turn to Zeke with a frown on your face and a pout on your lips.
“You made me drop my apple, you meanie,” you groan as you stare dejectedly down at your fallen apple. A snicker falls from Zeke’s lips, and you glare at him as he doubles over, setting the basket gently on the ground before offering his arms to you.
“Sorry sweetheart, you just looked too perfect, I had to make sure that I was still on earth,” he remarks, pulling you into his arms in a swift movement. You once again roll your eyes at his cheesiness, but you indulge him, wrapping your arms around his neck and leaning into his chest.
“I dropped that apple because of you. That was a good apple,” you grumbled before looking up at Zeke. He was looking up at that moment, and you see him reach high above you, hands brushing around in the apple tree’s leaves.
When his hand returns to eye level, you can see what he grabbed. A perfect, luscious, green apple. He quirks his eyebrow at you and murmurs, “My apple was better than yours anyway.”
At that, Zeke takes a bite of the apple, the juice of the tender fruit trying to escape the corners of his mouth. He chews slowly, his eyes fluttering closed for a moment to savor the sweet and tart flavors.
You watch him, taking in the strong curve of his face and the way it was illuminated by the orange glow of the sun. Your eyes linger on his golden curls, and the way that they ruffle in the brisk fall breeze that whipped through the orchard.
You don’t realize that his eyes have opened until he’s resting his forehead against your own, brushing his nose against yours before leaning in slowly. Zeke places a gentle, fervent, and passionate kiss against your lips.
It’s sweet and sour at the same time. His kiss makes you feel like you’re flying but being pulled in by a rope at the same time. Zeke’s lips are addictive in the way they move against your own, loving and caring, but intense in the most methodical way.
A sigh falls from your mouth as you taste the apple on his lips, and you find yourself wanting more, but as you move in to deepen the kiss, Zeke pulls away. A smirk is resting on his mouth as he leans back, and he presses a tender kiss to your temple.
He brushes his lips against your ear before he whispers, “Don’t forget sweetheart, we are in public.” You groan and pull away, frowning at him again for the fact that he ruined your moment.
A hearty laugh falls from Zeke’s lips, and your pout deepens as you cross your arms. A few incoherent mumbles could be heard from you as you glare at Zeke. He could make out the words “jerk”, “my apple was better”, and “it wasn’t even that good”.
Zeke calls out to you as you start to move away, “I think my apple tasted nice, what do you think, sweetheart? Need another taste?”
You flip him the bird as you snatch up your basket of apples, leaving him to chuckle and chase after you, not caring how other people saw the two of you.
It was a perfect fall day and no one could ruin that. And with the sun setting, and your basket full of fresh picked apples, you and your lover fell into the ever changing rhythm of the autumn season.

The room smelled of fresh pine, maple syrup, and eggs, a delightful thing to wake up to in your own house and not a stranger’s. You shift beneath the red covers, sitting up in the bed and staring at the plate in front of you. Henry had cooked; there was no walk of shame when breakfast was involved. “About time, you woke up.” The groveled voice of Henry sent sensations down your body, last night still lingered down your body. The kisses on your thighs, the bite mark on your chest. Everything raged for him.
“I didn’t mean to stay the night.” But you were not going to apologize, the sheets were soft, the food was hot, and so the hell was he. The plate called your name, and you answered, picking up the white plate with a blue rim and the fork.
“I don’t mind, I called into work, had some other things I wanted to do.” Henry cocked his thick brow and smiled. “You seemed to sleep pretty well.”
“Yeah.” You started with the bacon, savoring the sweet and salty flavor before clearing your throat. There was no doubt something in you had changed in one night. “So, where do we start?”
“I’m sorry?” He looked confused, but you were not convinced.
“You bit me…” The oversized shirt hung from your shoulder, already making it easy for you to show him the bit mark mid-chest. “Called me… omega,” You swallowed the remaining bits of your bacon.
“That’s what you are, omega.” Henry was a well-toned type of animal, his muscles flexed with each move he made, and he was bulk. And now, for some reason, the only thing you could think when he was near you was how his weight would feel on top of you.
“I don’t know what that is, and nor do I want to hear about it. I want a formal apology for you biting me, and I want you to put on a damn shirt.”
“Am I bothering you?”
“Yes.” You started on the eggs, closing your eyes as you savored the first bite swirling with butter and just the right amount of seasonings. “Thanks for breakfast.”
“You’re welcome.” He shook his head. “Get some clothes on, pet.”
“Pet?”
“Yep.” He turned from the room and headed down the hallway that seemed narrow in comparison to him. “You have a few minutes to get dressed, and we are leaving.”
“To go?”
“Hurry up,” Henry added.
It was odd being across the street from your own home but dressing somewhere else. He had been nifty while you slept, using your keys to get clothes from you all the while hiding them from you so you could not go home. You hopped quickly in the shower, equipped with a glass door. It was evident that he was watching; you could not determine if you were pissed or happy to put on a show.  The soaps appeared to be all-natural, the smell of the oils hitting your nose, adding a sense of calm to everything, even though you were anything but calm.
Henry had chosen another dress; you pandered between it being easy to access or the sight of your legs, being the reason why he chose them. Either way, you put on the ivory dress garnished with pink and yellow flowers with a smile, this dress made you think of home. There was no hope to comb your hair; he wouldn’t have known the right supplies anyhow. He waited stoically on the bed as you dressed, admiring you as a wolf would his prey, eyes narrowed and tongue sliding across his lips.
“See something you like.”
He chuckled. “That cocky attitude has to disappear before we head to the Den.”
“The Den.”
“You’ll see.” He stood from the bed, revealing the simple outfit he’d chosen for himself. A white t-shirt the clenched onto those muscles like a glove and dark denim jeans that perfectly hugged his ass. Damn if you weren’t near salivating yourself. “Come on.”
Tumblr media
The Den, it was nowhere near the one-way street downtown, like everything else. It was ‘up the way,’ as he said three or four times when you asked Henry. He liked to sing, though every note was offkey; you wanted to watch him do it. He had not one care in the world other than you, and one day in or not, it was more than any of the other men you dated had to offer. The windows were down, and the woody smell only grew stronger the further you drove down the backroad.
“I shouldn’t trust you this much, you know?”
“And why not?” Henry glanced from the road to meet your eyes.
“You could be a killer.”
“I would have killed you already if I were a killer.”
“Some wolves like to play with their food.” You quipped.
“Touché.”
The Den appeared in your view; it was an ominous as you pictured. A cabin-like bar with people standing outside around fire pits. Country. You liked the aesthetic, wasn’t precisely sure if you wanted to be a part of it. He opened the door for you, taking your hand in his to help you step out of the truck.
“Henry.” The hulk of a man walked over to the two of you, burly and covered with hair.
“Jason.” He smiled.
“Omega.” He bit his lip, “She is nearly in heat.”
“I know,” Henry whispered as he walked towards the door, he left you standing alone while he started to converse with Jason.
Every free eye in the area was on you, and the whispers had started. “Scared?” The friendly voice startled you, but he was there to catch you, chocolate eyes met yours as soon as you found your balance.
“No, for what…” You shrugged. “I don’t know these people.”
“But they know you, omega.”
“Okay… what the fuck is an omega?”
“Well, you’ve been marked.” He pointed at the bite mark on your chest. “Your scenting too.”
“Get the fuck away from her.” Henry barked, and the guy scrambled away with his hands up. “Why didn’t you come with me?”
“You left me standing here!” You growled. “Thanks for that, by the way.”
They all looked as if you had broken the law, disgruntled and in awe, everyone but Henry. “You have a fucking cub’s mouth.”
“Cub? Look fucker and all of your equally fucked up friends…”
“She needs training.”
“Enough, Y/N.” Henry was in front of you in a few seconds, he pulled at your arm moving you up the steps and into The Den. And the inside appeared not to be what you thought, there wasn’t a dancefloor, a stage or even a full bar. There was a small bar, no dance floor, just a long hallway leading to a few different rooms.
“Henry.” You whispered.
“Shut up.” He answered once you were to the room. He pushed you inside, and there was nothing fancy about the place, just a bed.
“Why am I here?”
“Because,” he touched your neck. You’d started sweating. The drip was on his fingertips and took them in his mouth, closing his eyes and then growling. “You’re mine.”
“Bullshit excuse, and also no the fuck I’m not.”
“I marked you.” Henry touched your chest. “I made sure the entire pack knew to fuck off…”
“Pack? Omega.”
“Yeah, piece it together.” He moved towards you, shrouding you in his height, his presence in general. His eyes flickered amber, and those beautiful canines made their appearance.  Henry had made the thing known; he took what he wanted. He delved his fingers under the line of your panties and groaned. Why the fuck did you go weak when he was around you? They pulled the delicate fabric, and his teeth nipped at your neck. His tongue swiped the sweat, and you felt him hard behind you, instinctively you pushed your ass on him, and to your surprise, he stepped back.
“Since you have no fucking manners, I’ll make you wait.”
Tumblr media
The sunset after a few hours, the golden hue of the room faded into the dark, and the only thing that could genuinely be heard was the rustle of the leaves outside the window door along with the occasional bustle of laughter from the men outside. It was no light, or at least you could not find one, you even clapped twice with hopes it would trigger the lights to come on, but there was nothing, just darkness. There was an innate part of you that wanted to try to break down the door and run, but from the looks of the guys in the house, they would not have allowed that to pass unnoticed.
There was no service in the god forbidden place, any call you’d tried would not even ring. You’d given up two hours ago, but your phone had not been rendered useless yet. Music was your only comfort in the place.
The smell of honeysuckles was prominent, a scent that you hadn’t smelled in years. The sweet floral scent was soothing; you stretched out on the bed, parting your legs.  Hunger. It had been a while since you truly valued yourself, took the time to give yourself pleasure. This was good as time as any. Your fingers start first exploring the smooth slope of your legs, the curves and dimples all accentuated by the slow pace you’d made for yourself. You’d enjoy yourself, even if he didn’t want to.
You were already wet, pushing your legs together for a moment, and you had drenched your panties and tossed them aside. Moments of last night flashed before your eyes, Henry had a way about him, that fucking muscled body over yours was the first. He had a way of commanding what he wanted, and he hadn’t said one fucking word. You traced over the sore areas of your thighs, the place he’d been anchored in for half the night, and then to your pussy. You were swollen at the thought, pulsing for him. You dipped your fingers into yourself, noticing how you dripped down the curve of your ass without even starting. Fuck.
The slim fingers plunged into you, and you moaned. Fuck, you should have been doing this from the start. The melodic sounds of the Summer Walker filled your ears; Girls Need Love fuck the words the song gave a feeling that was unmoved. Your nipples hardened against your bra, feeling fuller as you gripped them with your free hand and plunged back into your pussy with the other. Your walls were tighter, hungrier than you’d ever noticed. You slipped out, and you wasted no time pressing them upon your clit, rubbing in planned circles. If your clit was a safe, you knew the combination to get you where you needed to be.
Maybe you didn’t notice the door open because your eyes snapped shut, perhaps you didn’t give a fuck who saw you, but the bed dipped down as Henry sat at the edge of it. You couldn’t stop, him being around made it mandatory that you came. You rode your fingers, pushing them back into you, winding your waist before finding a rhythm that suited you.
You didn’t halt when you felt him in between your legs, the heat building as you worked harder, and then it boiled over when his long tongue met your clit. You came, the cum gushed out of you, and your head swirled. The bed was wet, but Henry didn’t seem to mind. He leaned closer, sucking at your clit and then lapping up the sweet slick that came from you. You knew now that the distinct earthy smell was him, as it intensified the closer he got.
His inhaled. “Making you mine was the easy part.” He said.
“You didn’t ask.” You said through labored breath before yelping again.
“An alpha doesn’t ask an omega. He claims her… is that not what you want?”
“I want to know more about you,” Your confession was drenched in lust, your fingers pulled at the curls in his head.
“You’re so sweet Y/N.” He sucked at your clit again, this time riling you to nearly cum again just from that, but he didn’t. You were wound tight, nerves tingled throughout your whole body, and all you wanted was to have him inside you again. Henry cupped your breasts, squeezing them to near pain and then releasing.
You sucked air through your teeth as he moved over the mark on your chest, and only moans can escape after. He tugged at your nipples, twisting, and edging the pain, then he would stop. Lap the juices from your pussy up again and laugh when you whimpered in defeat. He infuriated you.
“Don’t you want me to fuck you, Y/N.”
“Please.” Was it proper to beg, plead for this man to give you what you wanted? “Please, Henry. Fuck.”
In response, he hovers over you and plants a soft kiss to your lips. You could taste yourself; the sweetness resembles the same honeysuckles that had filled the air. What the fuck was going on? His mouth brushed down to your taut nipples, the beard tickling while he sucking at them for a moment, and then his teeth made an appearance biting until you squirmed away and then moving to the next. “I want to mark you again.” He whispered. “I want every fucking person in that room over there to know that this sweet pussy is mine.”
“Do it.” You moaned.
He grinned down at you; the sly smile was full of satisfaction and a carnal lust you’d never experienced. “I will, pet.” He pushed your legs further apart and found the spot that suits him well. He had on no pants, the heat of his heavy cock hung right on your thigh, there was no patience in you. You reached down, taking the weighted cock in your hand then lined him up to enter you, one hard stroke would be all it took to get there.
“Fuck me.” You begged. “Please.”
Henry obliged, thrusting into you so hard the headboard knocked back in response. The mewl that came from you only ignited him more. He slammed into you again and again. It was a moot point to beg for harder or faster because he knew when you wanted it. His pace was untamed, animalistic as he pinned your hands above your head and fucked you.
“Please, don’t stop.” You panted on the precipice of another orgasm. You’d lay beneath him all day and get fucked if it felt this exhilarating. “Please.”
Henry didn’t stop; he wasn’t sure he would ever be able to. Never had he been inside someone that fit him this perfectly. He wanted to mark you again, make you know he was serious when he said you were his. He flipped you on top of him, and he slipped out. You were so wet it was hard not to slip out. He didn’t mind. He liked it.
You didn’t pause the fucking, mounting him and placing your hands on his chest to anchor you. You bounced on him watching that perfect mouth form an O each time you sunk and took more of him than he thought you could make. He pushed the limits fucking you back, and all you could do was throw your head back and take it all.
His moans were louder now; he gripped your hips, guiding you over his cock, he wanted this to last longer, fuck you until you couldn’t stand was his goal since you could handle it. Your pussy clenched around him like a velvet glove, and a scream erupted from you. He was swelling; you loved it when he got bigger. You didn’t even think that it was fucking possible, and here he was fucking growing harder, longer, and bigger inside of you.
“You want this cum in you, pet?”
You shook your head vigorously riding the high of your climax, plus the way he felt inside of you when he came was unexplainable. “Please.”
Henry slammed up into you, knocking you forward so that you were on his chest. He loved to grip your ass to make you meet his strokes. He was fucking you faster, growling like the animal he had grown to be with you, and then it happened again. His cock swelled, he locked into you, and he came with a carnal noise that triggered you again. Fuck he was perfect if this was what it meant to be marked… then you wanted it every fucking day.

chapter summary: You and Fives head to Coruscant to meet with the Chancellor in order to find some answers, but things don’t go exactly as planned.
note: tbh this chapter if half filth. Sorry posting it took longer than the others and if some things look weird - I got tired of rereading this - I hope it’s okay BUT I am already in the process of jotting things down for the next chapter. I’ll let y’all in on a lil somethin’.... I’m planning on making chapter 7 completely from Fives’ POV.
***
From where you were able to watch the dark nothingness littered with glowing stars outside of the tiny viewport, you saw the planet you’d come to call home slowly approach as the ship exited hyperspace. The white clouds swirled over most of the surface as seen from space, yet the distinctive glow of major cities and routes shined brighter than any nearby stars; the bright lights connected each spherical pattern by distinct lines of light, marking the major highways and transport lanes.
Coruscant.
You were home, though you were not arriving in a way you could have ever imagined.
You were to accompany Nala Se, Master Shaak Ti, and Fives to the Senate Complex to meet with Chancellor Palpatine - and hopefully get some answers. Who in the hells would have ever thought you’d be meeting the Chancellor? If only your parents could see you now. They’d be... proud? Under such strange circumstances, you weren’t even sure what you were feeling about it all.
Accomplishment? Was that what you were feeling? Certainly not success, nor defeat, since this wasn’t over yet.
Perhaps accomplishment was an appropriate feeling, solely for the fact that you and Fives had gotten through to somebody - now you were to meet with the fucking Supreme Chancellor.
Fives was knocked out during the journey - given a sedative as a precautionary measure - against your wishes, and was kept isolated. Maybe it was because Fives had a blaster trained on an unarmed Kaminoan… still, it upset you. He wasn’t going to actually harm Nala Se. You’d only known Fives for a week, but you know he would never hurt someone unarmed and innocent - though you both wouldn't exactly consider Nala Se as innocent after what took place back on Kamino.
The journey was extremely long - 120 hours, to be almost exact. At least you were finally able to catch up on some sleep, even if it was on the hard bunks within the small ship’s sleeping quarters. Though you were upset Fives wasn’t conscious during the journey, you were somewhat glad he was getting rest, forced by sedative or otherwise.
You were eager to be with Fives again; you were still in shock - he had kissed you. Twice. The things you were feeling brought you back to the giddiness of having a crush on another boy from your settlement when he gave peck on the cheek; you were no older than ten, as was he. You can’t remember the last time you felt these things for another. Surely you didn’t feel this way for that boy when you were both only ten years-old; maybe you’d never felt this way for someone - this was all new to you.
What was to happen now - would you and Fives... be together? It sounded so silly to play those words even in the privacy of your own mind; the thought of being with a clone was something you’d never imagine even in your wildest dreams, but as you mentioned to Fives back on Kamino, he’d changed your views on the clones entirely. Fives was so full of compassion, emotion, ferocity when necessary. He was intelligent and cunning, caring and funny. The way he was with you, so careful and sincere - you’d completely fallen for that man; it was no longer a simple crush nor rush of lust.
The thought of “being together” in a traditional sense sounded... nice. It seemed to be impossible; you knew better than most that the clones were designed to keep the mission in the forefront of their minds and everything else would be clouded out, but your time working with Fives gave you new insight that the clones were capable of a lot more than anyone - especially the masters of their creation - would’ve ever thought. Maybe it was possible.
The transport that had come up to bring you to the surface touched down at the hangar and you hurried to exit, eager to be reunited with Fives after the boring journey. Walking down the ramp and looking around at the other transport, there was no sign of Fives. You did see the conniving long-neck speaking with a couple troopers with painted red armor, nodding to her words before heading off and away from the ships. Deciding to confront her, you stepped cautiously towards Nala Se, keeping yourself aware of your surroundings while scanning the area in hopes to catch a glimpse of the man you’d fallen hard for.
Nala Se turned to face you, not so much as a smile made its way to her stoic face.
“Where is he, where’s Fives?” You stepped closer, your head tilting back and meeting her eyes from below. Trying to keep your cool was difficult; your accusatory tone towards her made her imaginary brows raise.
“He is still sedated. I had him escorted to the Chancellor’s office.” Her tone was calm, unfazed, nonchalant - obviously not too worried about entertaining your worry for Fives.
“Alright. So, I’ll follow you then?” You looked around towards where the troopers from before were heading, but to your dismay, the long-neck shook her head.
“Chancellor Palpatine did not request for you, Miss Renna. He only wishes to speak with trooper Fives.”
...what the fuck?
To seven hells with keeping your cool. This was totally not was discussed back on Kamino. A mixture of anger and confusion soared through you; tears threatened to form at the corners of your eyes. No way are you crying out of frustration in front of Dr. Nala Se.
“But I thought-” She held up her three fingers in front of you, halting your impending argument.
“I am afraid that was the Chancellor’s request.”
Without another word or opportunity for you to argue, Nala Se turned on her heels and left you alone and on the brink of a fucking meltdown.
There was no arguing with her and especially not with the Chancellor, but it was still strange. Where was Master Shaak Ti? She’d be able to help you out, right? Why would the Chancellor not want to meet with you - you, the one who was by Fives’ side throughout the entire investigation, the one who has actual medical knowledge and training? You had a bad feeling about it all.
What were you supposed to do now? You obviously couldn’t arrive unannounced at the Senate building, let alone the Chancellor’s office.
What of Fives? He’d probably freak out when he wakes up and you’re not there by his side. The last thing he knew before being put under was that you’d be going with him to meet the Chancellor. So, what? He’s going to wake up and point another fucking blaster at someone? You wouldn’t doubt it - this entire situation has got him completely on edge. Fives was hurt, confused, and felt betrayed, to say the least. He trusted the Jedi - that was something engrained in him from before he’d ever held a blaster - and was literally engineered to serve under them in this Maker forsaken war.
Something didn’t sit right with you, though, and that’s not including how you weren’t requested to be present in front of the Chancellor. What doesn’t sit right with you is that you were still... employed (in a sense) and weren’t dismissed when Nala Se had confronted you in the Embryo Room. Instead, you were allowed to come back to Coruscant along with your employer, and not as a consequence of dismissal.
You didn’t want to go back to Kamino, though. Maybe it would be best to go back to the academy and explain the situation to your advisors, though you weren’t entirely sure how to even begin to explain this mess to anyone who wasn’t already aware of what was going on.
If you didn’t return to Kamino, would that mean you were quitting? What if you spoke to your academic advisors first, asking for a transfer of internship? What if Nala is planning on dismissing you, just waiting until this was over with, does that mean you’d fail at the academy and not be placed any where else to finish up your training?
After what you’ve seen and what you’ve actually uncovered, you knew going back to Kamino was an absolute fuck no. If that meant you never becoming a doctor, then so be it.
Everything happens for a reason.
All there was to do was wait it out - see what happens with Fives’ meeting with the Chancellor.
Ultimately deciding to wait outside for him after his meeting, you started the trek to the complex in the footsteps of the troopers and Nala Se. When you got there, it was quiet; you expected the hustle and bustle of tourists or political figures, but there was no one - save for the expected Coruscant guards walking the perimeter with blasters in hand. It was just you, sitting alone and filled with worry on a long and wide staircase that led up to the grand entrance of the Senate Building.
***
Hours.
It had been hours since you’d first parked your ass outside the Senate Building. The sun was starting to set behind the enormous structure; the sky resembled fire with the stripes of yellows and oranges blending together, the flecks of purples and pinks littered the sky complementarily while the lines of speeders zooming along off in the distance became silhouettes.
You hadn’t seen a Coruscant sunset in over six months - it was what you missed the most while away on that stormy planet, where you'd never seen not one sunset.
You’d never forget your first night on Coruscant, a week before your first days at the medical academy. You were nervous and afraid, unsure of the crowded streets and the trillions of others walking or hovering among them - your first time surrounded by extremely unfamiliar faces and unaccompanied by your family. You came from such a small and poor settlement, where everyone knew each other and their ancestors - where you were comfortable, yet longed for more.
You’d bumped into what seemed like hundreds of passersby while navigating to your new apartment, located in a high rise just off the academy’s perimeter. The inside was complete with furnishings and decor that quite honestly wasn’t your taste, but the kitchen was huge and came with appliances you never thought you’d ever use in your lifetime - a stark contrast to the communal fire pit and dwindling supply of pots and pans from where you grew up.
Speaking of kitchen - you were starving.
Hungry and worried - the two most prominent feelings of late.
***
Back at your apartment you cooked dinner, sitting on the balcony while attempting to sooth your frustration and worry while spooning mouthfuls of your mother’s recipe for your favorite soup. It was getting late. You had no way to contact Fives, no way to contact anyone other than Nala Se.
She wasn’t the best option of contact, though she would be able to inform you of how the meeting went - lying about details or not, you just wanted to know if Fives was okay, even if the Chancellor didn’t take his side about the chips.
Those fucking inhibitor chips.
You hadn’t forgotten how Nala Se tried to cover it all up, rather than just explaining what they were from the get-go. If it really was something as simple as “making them less aggressive because their original donor was a crazy aggressive bounty hunter” then there should be no reason why you wouldn’t even know about the chips, or why you never saw anything about the chips in any files.
It appeared that you and Fives had unknowingly uncovered a conspiracy - a conspiracy that needed to stay undiscovered so badly that the Kaminoan in charge of the clones’ design was ready to recondition then kill any one clone that caught of whiff of anything remotely close to it.
Fives. Fives caught a whiff of something extremely close to it.
There had to be a reason why you weren’t welcome at that meeting.
Surely Nala Se could have been lying right to your face, as she’s done before, but what if the Chancellor really didn’t want or need to speak with you, or hear what you had to say about the chips in a medical sense?
Why was Nala Se so fucking adamant about sending all data on the chip - including the chips themselves and the clones it came from - straight to the Chancellor, protesting any mention of detours along the way? Why would it matter if Tup or his chip made a pitstop at the Jedi Temple for the Jedi to do their... Jedi stuff on him before reaching Nala Se’s voiced desired destination?
Weird. All of it... just fucking weird.
Now your stomach was turning; soup came up in your throat faster than you could register what was happening. It burned on the way out; hot soup spewed from your mouth with such force that the wall across from you was consequently covered in the contents of your stomach. Something you hadn’t done in a long time - vomiting out of pure anxiety and stress - happened quicker than you had time to realize how fucking bad the negative emotions stemming from the situation were affecting you.
You could just feel it - Fives was in danger. Though you didn’t know exactly what kind of danger or who at the hands of, that feeling was screaming at you.
Scared. Worried. Stressed. Angry. Upset and sobbing, because you’d just spewed fucking soup all over your wall.
Take a shower. Put on clean clothes. Get some fucking sleep. Check in with everything in the morning.
You repeated your own instructions both silently in your head and out loud to yourself as you finished cleaning up your disgusting stress-induced habit.
***
Knock knock knock.
You shot up from from the couch, already awake because you were just not able to shut your damn eyes.
“F- Fives?” His name croaked out of your sore throat; the possibility that Fives was at your door was just slim to none. Though, who else would it be?
“Renna...” Your name came from the other side of the door; the familiar voice sent... something shooting from your ears and straight to your toes.
Fives.
You don’t recall making the short journey to your door from the couch, but in a flash you were there, opening the door to be greeted by the man you’d just indirectly vomited because of.
He just stood there right outside your door; the dim light filtering in from the halls casted him as a silhouette, but you were able to make out how was still in that armor he had commandeered (well, just plain stole) back on Kamino and how he had a dark and dazed look in his golden eyes. It was difficult to read his face; normally Fives was quite expressive, but at that moment, there was nothing.
He slowly stepped forward, making you retreat a few steps. His unreadable expression changed as the light hit his face - it was one you’d never seen on him before.
Anger - that’s what you were feeling - along with worry, exhaustion, confusion - all towards this entire fucked up situation and being directed right at Fives before you could stop it.
“Where the fuck have you been-”
“I need you,” he growled, right before slamming his lips onto yours.
Not able to hold in the simultaneous gasp and moan that escaped your throat, Fives shut the door as you allowed him to push you back further into your apartment all while his lips remained locked with yours - hungry and wanting. Fives was devouring you, to put in plainly; he kissed you like it would be his last opportunity to. You didn’t realize Fives had been backing you up and up until your back slammed into a wall with a load thud, but he didn’t let up the kiss, no - in fact, the kiss deepened since you no longer had any more room to back up, firmly pressed against a hard surface while being caged in completely by Fives’ sturdy body. Desperate hands roamed your form, grabbing the meatier parts of you and offering a gentle squeeze.
You brain was jelly... what were you mad about again, among other things? Oh right... everything.
“F- Fives!” You snapped your head to the side, effectively breaking the kiss. “You wanna tell me what the fuck is going on? Maker, I was worried sick!” Literally sick. Like, literally.
“I- please... need you first. Please, Ren. I need you.” He tugged at your top with pleading and hungry eyes, silently asking for permission to take it off. You bit your lip, contemplating if this is how you wanted things to finally happen between the two of you. Fuck it. You wanted him - needed him.
Staring up at him under long lashes with your bottom lip caught in your teeth, you nodded. “Okay.” With no time wasted, your top was pulled off and thrown somewhere out of sight. His lips returned to yours, messy and warm. As your tongues swirled one another, Fives’ hands continued to grab at the newly exposed skin, palming your breasts underneath your sorry excuse for a bra, sending you into a frenzy. This was the most Fives’ had ever touched you - and it brought you back to those first couple of nights upon meeting him for the first time, when you imagined what his touch would feel like as you pleasured yourself. Coming back to the present, the warmth you felt in your face traveled further down, settling in your lower stomach. Your head tilted to the side and Fives broke from your lips to move south, kissing and sucking down your chin to your neck to your collarbone.
“F- fuck.” You nearly melted into a puddle when Fives’ hands found the clasp of your bra, tearing it off and tossing it to the side without his lips breaking contact from your skin.
Fives definitely wasn’t new to these activities.
“You smell so good, Ren,” He breathed against the curve of your shoulder just above your collarbone, nipping the skin there with a groan. All you could do was stand there like a noodle, whimpering while letting his strong arms hold you upright as he mouthed at your skin, the warmth coming from his nose and mouth sending shockwaves to the more sensitive parts of your body. Fives ventured back up to your mouth, placing sloppy and wet kisses along your bottom lip.
That thing that drives you absolutely crazy was done unknowingly by Fives again, causing you to moan loudly into his mouth - the vibrations making your shudder.
“That’s the second time you’ve done that when I do this,” Fives repeated the motion, chuckling against your lips when you let out another moan. “I guess you like it when I do that, huh beautiful?” Your eyes were clamped shut as you nodded to the best of your ability. Fives brought his hands up to grab your face, holding you steady in his large palms. “I need you, Renna.” Fives repeated himself, going back in for another hungry kiss. You broke away this time, placing your hands over his while still holding your face.
“Have me, Fives.”
He made a grunt akin to a growl before hoisting you up; strong hands grabbed your ass from underneath and your legs quickly wrapped around his waist as he smashed his lips back onto yours. You couldn’t help the whimpers that came from your throat as his stiffening cock rubbed against your aching core. Fives’ grip on your ass became rougher as he kneaded the plush skin through your sleep bottoms. You allowed your hands to roam around his shoulders and head, enjoying the feeling of the freshly buzzed hair as it pricked your fingers.
Desperate kisses and touches - that’s what it all was, and for a few minutes before your mouths detached, staring into each others eyes while catching your breaths.
“I’ve wanted this for so long...” Fives admission made you blush, and he definitely noticed. Tucking loose hair behind your ear, he smiled. “You are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, Renna. I’ve been to countless systems, moons, planets - nothing and no one on or within any of them could ever compare to you.”
You couldn’t stop the tear falling from your eye before Fives caught it, gently wiping it away with his thumb.
“No, sweet girl. I don’t want you crying over things I say,” He placed a quick kiss on your cheek where the tear fell, “I want you crying over how good I’m gonna make you feel when I finally fuck you.” You didn’t have time to react before Fives swung around and quickly moved to your bed, throwing you down on top of it. He stood at the edge of the bed, extremely intimidating at the angle you were looking at him from as he donned a full set of armor, sans helmet.
You squirmed underneath his gaze, feeling all too exposed with your top half completely bare while he stood there fully clothed and the some. As if he could read your mind, Fives started peeling off the armor, unclasping the pieces one by one while keeping his eyes locked with yours. Your body was completely on fire.
This was finally happening.
“Ren?” Fives was just taking off the last of the plastoid and tossing the vambraces to the side, looking at you with a hungry smirk. You nodded to him with a quizzical brow raised. “Tell me how long you’ve wanted this.”
He was teasing you.
“Fives...”
“Tell me, pretty thing.”
Shit, okay.
“Ever since I first saw you, Fives. When you first arrived on Kamino, in your armor.” The way he was questioning you with such... authority - you started to feel just how wet you were getting as you rubbed your thighs together in an attempt to stimulate yourself in some way.
The way he was in that moment... yeah, you told him the truth.
Fives hummed in approval with a cocky grin stretched on his face as he ran a warm palm up and down your trembling thigh. “You liked seeing me in my armor?”
“Stars. Yes... It was my first day outside the archives yet I don’t even remember that fucking conversation because I was too distracted by you.”
What is he, a fucking wizard? He was pulling confessions from you with very little effort - your brain was fried; all that was on your mind was getting Fives to touch you where you needed him to.
“It’s a shame I won’t have an opportunity to put that armor back on again. I would have loved to fuck you while I wore it.” Both his hands trailed up your calves to your thighs to the waistband of your bottoms, threatening to take them off as he yanked at the elastic band.
The commanding and intimidating ARC trooper was the Fives you never had the pleasure of personally dealing with... until now.
“Fives, please.” You wiggled underneath his hands, hoping he knew what you wanted through your half-ass begging.
“I really want to take my time with you, but I don’t think we have the luxury of time right now... I may not be able to control myself, Ren. I need you so fucking bad, baby.” His fingers finally clamped around your waistband, yanking the material down your legs in a one rough motion. As soon as your pants were off, his fingers were rubbing against the dampening spot seeping into the thin material of your underwear. Your focus was completely on controlling how loud you were panting that you didn’t even register that the lacy torn-up material between his fingers was your fucking underwear that he’d just ripped clean off your hips.
“Fuck... did you... just-”
“I warned you, Ren.” As soon as those last words flew out of his mouth, his face was instantly buried between your legs, tongue circling your folds in a very messy fashion. Strong hands grabbed at your thighs, yanking them up and over his broad shoulders as his mouth attacked your burning cunt. The embarrassing moans coming from your throat burned your ears as he went back and forth between flicking your clit with his tongue and licking up and down your slit. You nearly choked on your own spit as a broken cry made its way from your throat when he grabbed your hips and angled you so that his tongue sunk straight into your hole.
“H- oh m- fu- fuck.” You were nearly sobbing at the way he was tongue-fucking your clenching hole; his grip on your hips was bruising and the lewd slurping sounds coming from him sucking at every inch of your pussy all led up to an insane climax. The heat in your lower stomach was unbearable and you cried out as he insert two thick fingers inside you to replace his tongue. All it took was a few thrusts of his curled digits and were coming undone; Fives worked you through your high, keeping a brutal pace with his fingers and flicking of his tongue in sync with their attack.
He pulled back to look at you, lips swollen and eyes still dark with lingering want. He looked like a fucking dream - truly, a vision. Of all the times you’d imagined Fives touching and feeling you, having him devour you the way he was at the moment was nothing you could have ever dreamt of.
“You look so beautiful.” Fives stood up from his crouching position, softly positioning your quivering legs back on the bed. You doubted that you looked at all attractive with the way you were panting like you’d just ran a marathon, loose strands of hair sticking to your face from sweat. Shaking your head with unfocused eyes, you reached your hand out to him and he took it, allowing you to pull him on top of you. His lips attacked yours once again, but more delicately this time. Feeling the hard bulge straining in his black pants rubbing against your oversensitive cunt made you moan; Fives swallowing it and volleying back with his own. He lifted his head and broke the kiss, staring right into your heavy eyes.
“I want this... so badly,” he confessed, seeming just a little too shy for the way he just made you see the fucking Maker with his fingers and tongue. You couldn’t contain the giggle that made it past your lips as you reached down to palm at his clothed member.
“Take these off,” you cooed, attempting to wiggle his pants off his hips with just one hand.
Once Fives was completely bare, he leaned back over you, resting on his forearms that sat on either side of your head. You lifted your head slightly for another kiss as he grabbed himself to line up with your burning entrance. Your head fell right back down once the bulbous head of his perfect cock breached you; a mumbled curse fell from your lips as he slowly rolled his hips against yours.
“You’re so beautiful, Ren... so tight, so warm.” Your eyes nearly rolled into your skull as he inched all the way inside of you, pausing for a moment so as to get adjusted to one another. Your eyes locked with Fives’ as he started moving; the roll of his hips slow and deliberate as he hit the deepest part inside you over and over again. The eye contact made it just all the more intimate; watching one another’s reaction to the exquisite feeling of being this close to each other was pure bliss. You watched his brows crease in concentration as that dark look in his golden eyes grew all the more prominent, and you knew he was watching the way your mouth looked as broken curses tumbled off your tongue. Your hands flew up to rest against his buzzed head, rubbing soothing circles into his scalp as he tilted his head back down to suck at your collarbone.
This was the most intimate you’d ever been with somebody, but something within you was telling you that Fives was holding back for some reason - not giving you his all - that he was capable of more.
“Fives,” you breathed out, steadily rocking against the mattress from each deep thrust, “don’t hold back, baby. Give me you.” His eyes widened, quickly followed by a grunt of approval. Only a moment later he was nearly pulled all the way out of you just to slam himself right back in, making you shriek. Gasps made it made it past your devilish smile as he picked up the pace.
“Like that?” He snapped his hip so fucking hard and deep. “You want me to fuck you hard, Ren?” Unable to form a coherent response, you mumbled something akin to a confirmation; his quick and hard thrusts sent you scooting up higher on the bed with every smack of his hips against the underside of your thighs with the slight nodding of your head. Your eyes were squeezed shut and your arm was draped over your face, stifling the moans that erupted from deep within.
Fives grabbed your arm and threw it away from your face and breathed out between grunts, “Look at me, beautiful girl. R-remember what I said before? I want to s-see you cry from how good I’m making you feel.” Not knowing it was even possible, his hips slapped against you at an even quicker pace as he leaned on one arm to grab your hip with the other. The angle he was thrusting into at made him hit deep inside - hitting the spot that had you seeing the fucking Maker themselves again.
He continued to pound you into the mattress, beads of sweat forming on his brow framing his hungry eyes. Those perfect lips were parted, allowing the deepest of grunts and groans to filter through. Between the shared noises of pleasure, the quick smacking of skin meeting skin, and the squelching coming from his cock entering and exiting your throbbing pussy - your ears were on fire and the heat burning deep within you exploded into an intense climax. With a squealed out cry, your hands flew up to his back, pressing your nails deep into his thick skin, making him groan. Tears stemming from insane pleasure formed in your eyes, dripping down past your temples and onto the sheets beneath you.
“I feel you, beautiful. Cum for me - cum all over my c- gah-” The clenching of your spasming pussy that accompanied your orgasm made Fives break off his command as he dropped his head to rest on your collarbone, his cock pulsating within you. With just another few hard but lazy thrusts, liquid warmth spurted inside you as he held himself deep within your throbbing cunt.
He was no longer holding himself up - his full weight fell right on top of you, pretty much squeezing any remaining oxygen out of your lungs but you didn’t care at that moment. The both of you stayed still for a few minutes, letting your breaths return to normal and relishing each other’s post-sex scent.
When he finally lifted himself and pulled out of you, you didn’t even register that you were still crying until he wiped away the tears with the same fingers he had inside you, still sticky with your juices. You were crying because of two things: one, Fives made you feel more pleasure than anyone had ever, and two, there was something screaming at you from the back of your mind that though this was your first time with Fives - it may be your last. You didn’t want to think about that, but the memory of Fives being inexplicably missing that entire day after a meeting you had no idea what went on in, it was the only thing you could think about.
No. Now was not the time to think about that.
Fives rested beside you, pulling you into his arms, mimicking that first time you’d shared the bed with one another. “They’re after me,” he mumbled flatly after a minute of silence, his chin jutting against the top of your head as he spoke.
“Because of the chips.” It meant to come out as a question, but you already knew the answer; this whole fucking thing was about those damn chips. Fives didn’t respond right away, instead squeezing your spent body just a little bit tighter in his arms, pressing you further into him. He inhaled deeply, letting the air softly escape from his nostrils.
“Because... I attacked the Chancellor.”
...wh- what?
“You did what?” You attempted to break out of his arms so you could look him in the eyes - to see if he was kidding, but your weak struggling was no match for his enhanced strength. Sighing in defeat, your tone softened, “What happened at that meeting, Fives?”
“Renna... I want to tell you, I just-” A beat. “I would be putting you in danger.”
Rolling your eyes even though he couldn’t see your face, you scoffed, “More so than I already am? Fives, I was part of the shit that went down on Kamino. I’m in on this.”
“But you don’t know the extent of just how high up this conspiracy goes, Ren, and it needs to stay that way.” His arms tightened. He was just being protective, you decided, but it wasn’t fair.
“Fives,” you pleaded, grasping onto his thick forearms. You murmured into the air towards the wall beside the bed, “Please tell me. I want to help you. Please.”
“I... have to go soon, Ren.” He sounded unsure - apologetic. Regretful. Nervous.
“...but I don’t think we have the luxury of time right now...”
Fives’ words replayed in your head. You didn’t think anything of it at the time, since he was just about to give you the most intense and intimate pleasure you’d ever known in your life, but it hit you. Tears started forming in your eyes again as the thoughts you had buried deep in the back of your mind made their way to the front at full force. He must’ve heard your quiet sobs as you attempted to muffle them, because in only a moment you were released then flipped to lay on your other side - facing Fives. The feeling of him wiping your tears was all too familiar - a feeling that shouldn’t be familiar, in a perfect galaxy. Would the galaxy ever be perfect?
“Wh-where will you go?” Where will he go? “You’re... a fugitive, Fives.”
“Yeah, I know,” he huffed. “They even got the Corrie Guard after me. I need to find Rex, or- or General Skywalker.”
“Find them... and then what?”
“Explain myself, if they’ll let me. I at least need to try.”
“Fives, what in Maker’s name-”
“Please, trust me. I’ll... be okay.” He broke away from your eyes, staring off at the wall behind you.
That was flat out lie, and you both knew it. You attempted to study his blank expression for a moment before his eyes flickered back to yours.
“When I find Rex I’ll tell him about your involvement. He should be able to keep you safe. I’ll- I’ll come find you after I speak with him, okay?”
“Keep me safe...” You mumbled the words under your breath in pure disbelief; Fives simply nodded in confirmation, a crease resting in between his brows as his gaze bore into yours.
“If Rex hears me out, then he’ll understand. He’s a good man... always willing to do the right thing.” It sounded as though Fives was saying that to himself rather than to you - as a reminder.
You decided to leave it at that, not having enough energy to press his stubborn self any more on the subject. Nuzzling your face into his bare chest, you inhaled deeply - a way to keep his scent in your mind for after he leaves. Fives was warm, both his physical form and his overall energy. Safe. His arms wrapped around your back, pulling you further into his comforting warmth. You were on the edge of sleep, eyelids becoming heavy and breathing deepening. You wanted to stay awake, though, to make the most of your time with Fives.
You just weren’t sure if you’d see him again after he goes.
“Just promise me-” He paused, sucking in a clump of air, “Just stay aware of your surroundings, okay? I’m not sure where you’re at with returning to Kamino... but I don’t think you should.”
“Okay,” your voice was barely audible, coming out as a faint mumble muffled against his skin.
That settled it. You would not return to Kamino.
What would you do, though? Are you quitting? What will you do if Fives-
“After I find Rex and the General... there’s no telling what’ll happen. No matter the outcome... I’m not sure what the next steps are. For once, I don’t have a plan, Ren. I’m gonna need your help, but we can talk about that when I come back to you, yeah?” He started to rub smoothing circles on your back, digging deep into your muscles while placing a kiss atop your head and squeezing you tighter. “I’m just... glad you weren’t at that meeting with the Chancellor.”
“Apparently my presence wasn’t requested by the Chancellor,” you mumbled in annoyance, that similar feeling of anger towards the long-neck bubbling up within you. Fives let out a quiet huff in reply, seemingly trying to dodge giving an appropriate response towards your resentful statement. You didn’t expect him to respond; however, you’d just realized that Fives somehow managed to find your apartment during the night, with no explicit directions given to him from you. “How... did you find me? I never told you where I lived.”
He replied with a light chuckle, “Do you not know me by now?” Offering a half-smile he pushed you away from his chest so you could meet his eyes, placing a quick kiss on your damp forehead. “I’ll always find you, Renna.”

Note
alrighty then a prompt that is unrelated to day 11 (which i will be coming back to btw!!!!!! i am not above peer pressure!!!!!!!!):
Peter reluctantly agrees to go through a haunted house with the acadec team but Flash is being a dick and ditches him and adorable horror fanatic Michelle who of course isn’t scared hangs back and offers to go through with him so that he won’t be scared, pls and thank u xx
day twenty one: i'll follow you into the dark
Peter doesn't hate haunted houses. He just doesn't feel the need to go into a darkened place with flashing lights and people that are allowed to scare you shitless but you aren't allowed to touch them and if you scream people think you're a pussy.
Well, maybe he is! His senses warn him someone is coming but there are too many of them and the lights are fucking with his brain and he really just needs to get through without having a breakdown. But you're not allowed to push past anyone so he is just stuck behind the rest of the acadec team who are walking at a snails pace.
He kinda wants to go talk to Ned because he'll be able to calm him down and stop his brow from sweating so much. But he's talking to Betty and Peter doesn't want to ruin that. He's been listening to Ned talk about her non stop at lunch for like three weeks.
So he trails behind trying to latch onto anyone's conversation so he can distract himself from the guy in a scream mask stood behind the borderline see through curtain. It's annoying that Peter can see what's coming prior to it happening, but it just makes him scared for longer.
His hands fidget at his sides as he laughs along with whatever Flash and Cindy are talking about but Flash gives him a dodgy look and he backs off instead.
How long could a haunted house realistically be? They've been in here at least seven hours so he should be nearing the end soon but he chance a look back and watches the last of the sunset disappear as the entrance door closes.
So maybe not seven hours. More like seven steps.
This is fine. He can do this.
"Come on, Peter," he mumbles to himself, his eyes screwed tight. "Come on, Spider-Man."
"You know," he hears from besides him and he jumps at least four feet off the ground, a scream lodged in his throat as he stumbles back to the ground, trying not to stick to the ceiling by his hands and knees.
He spins and sees her. Michelle. MJ. She's beautiful even in the dark lights. He can see her perfectly, though when the multicolour lights flash, he realises she looks flawless bathed in a red glow. And pink. And yellow. She can really pull off green as well.
"Peter?" she asks, her brows furrowed and her lips pouty. He wishes she wouldn't because he really can't deal with how cute she is in a normal setting, let alone when his heart is already erratic.
He's been dealing with his crush on his best friend well. So well. So so well. He hasn't told her he wants to marry her yet and this week he only bought her tea to school five times. And carried her books between classes everyday even when he was on the other side of the school. No big deal.
"Yeah, MJ?" he breathes, a little too heavy on the 'I'd do anything you asked me to' tone but she doesn't call him out on it.
"Are you okay?"
"Me? Oh yeah! Super! Never been better, love these houses, yep."
She rolls her eyes, moving to walk past him and he thinks he's fucked up but he can't figure out how.
"MJ -"
But she doesn't turn - just looks around at the fake hands and the blood. He watches her for a second, not realising he's not paying attention to the people jumping out at him now because he's done something to upset her. And then it hits him.
Well, the fake blood hits him which is a little rude and he's pretty sure the squeal he lets out isn't half as cool as he was hoping for. But he also remembers MJ calling Mr Doran out at school for not telling the truth. And how she never lets Flash get away with lying even a little in practice. And how when they became friends she told them straight up to never lie to her and he's already harbouring one to two pretty big secrets so he feels he could tell her the truth here.
She's facing him now anyway, her brows even closer together than before. Fuck, she's so pretty.
"I hate haunted houses," he says and he hears her let out a shaky breath, though she hides it well.
"I only came in because everyone was going and I didn't think it would be that bad."
"Okay," she replies, with an easy shrug. She moves to stand next to him, her arm dangling at her side and he can feel her hand near his and it's all he can focus on. Though his traitourous body still tenses when he senses something near.
"You know the blood is just corn syrup and food colouring," she whispers, leaning closer to him like she's telling him confidential information. She smells like cotton candy and popcorn and he wants to ask her if she wants to ride the Ferris wheel with him or maybe if she wants to move in with him.
"And the actors aren't allowed to touch you and if you look closely, you can see most of their trainers," she says. He looks, obviously, and it's a little harder to be nervous of Dracula when he's wearing a yellow pair of nikes.
"You know a lot about haunted houses," he says, suddenly aware she's telling him all of that to calm him down. The thought makes his heart a little fluffy though he still jumps when a bat swings down from the ceiling.
"Mmm, I love horror films, you'd know that if you ever watched them with me," she grumbles.
"It's like the worst of real life but no-one gets hurt," she says, her arm brushing against his slightly. He tenses again and she looks at him like she's worried when really nothing scary happened at all apart from the fact he wants to tell her he's in love with her.
"Maybe," she whispers, her fingers brushing his and he counts to three before he links their fingers together.
"Maybe, horror films would be better off if they had their own neighbourhood Spider-Man," she says, squeezing his fingers as she pulls him into the next room.
He can't retaliate because he's useless and will tell her everything she's ever wanted to know if she so much at looks at him one more time, and because he screeched so loud he thinks he voice box broke when a zombie leapt from behind the door.
"Are you okay?" she asks, a smile pulling at every muscle in her face. Though he doesn't mind, their hands are still linked together.
"If we make it through this alive," he asks, his heart thumping as she rolls her eyes at him.
"Will you go on the Ferris wheel with me?"
She pulls her bottom lip between her teeth, blushing slightly and he can tell even though her face is blue right now. His body tenses with the incoming attack, but MJ is the only one to move. Her hand straight in the air and it's so abrupt and in this guys face, that he just sort of stops in his tracks and goes the other way.
"Ferris wheel?" she asks, her hand lowering and her eyes bright.
"Yeah. We could take a funny photo at the top. Or a cute - well you always look - we could take a cute photo. And I'll buy you some candy floss."
"I've already had some," she replies, her eyes flicking over his face but she doesn't say no.
"I know but erm, I'll buy you some more. If you want."
"Okay," she replies, a smile on her face even though she tries to keep it down.
"Okay?" he asks, shaky as anything as she closes the distance between them. It takes all his willpower not to drop his gaze to her lips. He's not sure if it works.
"Only if we make it out alive," she answers, smirking as he realises all too late that there's someone behind him. He yelps, his hold on MJ's hand the only reason he's not hanging from the ceiling right now.
"You're the worst," he laughs, his free hand running through his hair.
"Come on, bug boy," she whispers. "I wanna go on the Ferris wheel."
