Havenât really been in the mood to talk much currently but I just wanted to make a post on Miracle Island... no analysis or anything like that, this movie is just one of my favorite ways Suneo has been drawn! [Though I wouldnât want him to be drawn this way always, it doesnât suite his smugness and such.]
Gian too actually:
#doraemon talk#my one true love: unique linework in a doraemon movie#in a way this movies style i feel helps emphasis how young the main crew are? not that they already dont look their age but they esp do here#picturing suneo being drawn this way when hes being really mean makes it a lot funnier... imagine being bullied by this#they both look like they make a squeaky toy noise if you squeezed them#wait no wait suneo does get squeezed kind of violently in this movie if i was more mean id add squeak fx to it#gian looks akin to corduroy bear to me in this movie#its in the eyes#this movie is honestly not a fave but i like it for technically including one of the adults in the adventure the villain designs#and ofc the art style#also speaking of the violence towards suneo in this isnt this one of the only movies where the villains directly hurt the kids?#like yeah they are attacked by villains a lot but it feels most of the time they arent ever hurt except in this case where suneo def is#i think they did it in space heroes too and some other movies

Jane Fonda (Barbarella, Sunday in New York, Barefoot in the Park)âFeminist icon, LGBTQ+ rights activist since the 70s, Civil Rights and Native American rights advocate, environmentalist⌠she really is THE woman ever
Rita Hayworth (Gilda, Cover Girl)âAbsolutely, drop-dead gorgeous. She steals every movie sheâs in; she was Fred Astaireâs favorite dance partner, as you can see in clips from their movies [link][link]. Born Margarita Carmen Cansino, Rita's story had its tragediesâher father was awful and had her performing in nightclubs way, way too young; the studio totally remade her look because they were afraid of her hispanic image, putting her through painful treatments and diets; she had a string of failed marriages. But beside all that, I think there's something about Rita that still glows throughâan inner beauty that has nothing to do with the studio, or the men who pinned their dreams on her. Rita brings an incandescence to roles that's impossible to replicate, and was truly a great actress in that she could switch from herselfâshy Margaritaâinto a bold and glamorous femme fatale so convincingly everyone fell in love with her as Gilda. She's my favorite movie star, and I think she was a beautiful human through and throughâRita, gorgeous and real and shining bright.
This is round 5 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Jane Fonda:
" I assume she's already been submitted but I gotta make sure. I think there's an element to movies like Barbarella or her segment of Spirit of the Dead of those having been directed by her husband, who famously made movies about her being hot, and the incredible costume design also helped, but good lord. Look at her"
"She was so pretty, dear lord! She was and still us stunning. Sheâs great at comedy and drama."
"Shes so hot im so gay for me i will let her hit me with hers car"
"Gorgeous and also still getting arrested at climate protests, which is sexy behavior"
"Watching her in Barefoot in the Park seriously made me, a straight woman, question things"
"PLEASE I LOVE HER SO MUCH"
"Her vibes in these movies are so interesting because she, the daughter of an Old Hollywood star, went on to make both poignant dramatic movies and the some of the silliest things you've ever seen but even in the silly space adventures and sexploitations there's always this undeniable gravitas to her. It's like she's able not to take herself very seriously but at the same time never stops having this grace and elegance and makes it all work together. And she's always been very politically active which is also sexy. Her famous mugshot is from 1970 so right at the cutoff mark but come on"
Rita Hayworth:
Do you need any other propaganda? Hereâs the video.
youtube
She was not called "the love goddess" for nothing: beautiful, glamorous, despite playing sexy and provocative roles her inherent shyness somehow also would shine through sometimes, creating this contradictory and incredibly attractive image
Often played "the bad girl" who tempted the male hero away from "the good girl"; but did have roles that broke her out of that mold. She was also the inspiration for Jessica Rabbit. THE pinup girlie.
HELP
youtube
She was soo beautiful when she was young and she MAINTAINED that beauty into her later years and I think that old lady glamour is hot. bombastic sex appeal
every line she delivers in gilda is so flirty and passionate or absolutely desolate and it's so good
I just have a lot of feelings about her

Everyone cheered as you blow the candle. They all greeted you a happy birthday and handed you their gifts. The event that your best friends, Izuku and Momo, arranged, made you feel very happy. But do you know what else it made you? Busy. From the moment that you and Katsuki have stepped a foot on this very place, he hasnât been able to talk to you. Let alone get near you. Thereâs just so many people here; too many people for you to give him an ounce of your attention and its making Katsuki dissatisfied. He didnât want to make a fuss about it though. After all, this is your day, itâs not about him, and he wants you to enjoy your day to the fullest. But still, he canât shrug the feeling of dissatisfaction off of him.
Feeling a bit grumpy, Katsuki decided to sit on one of the many tables in the venue, alone. He stayed there for a while, watching you talk happily with your friends. âTsk. That wouldâve been me if they didnât ruin our plans.â He thought to himself.
Meanwhile, standing near the buffet, you idly listen to Izuku talk about new quirks that he found other heroes can do. Heâs always been very excited about sharing new things that he discovers with you, and this conversation is no different. Donât get me wrong, you love listening and conversing with your friends, but you havenât seen Katsuki in a while and itâs making you worried.
After some time of subtly taking your eyes away from Izuku in an attempt to search for Katsuki, you finally saw him stood up from one of the tables. You watched as he made his way to the exit and left. âOh noâŚâ
You failed to notice that Izuku is still speaking right in front of you until he calls your name. âAre you okay?â Izuku asked as he looked back, trying to distinguish what you were looking at. âOh, yeah. Iâm fine, I just- would you excuse me for a minute?â You replied as you excused yourself and followed Katsuki to the exit.
It was chilly outside. The fact that you are wearing a sleeveless dress didnât help. You hugged yourself while you walked through the parking lot. Katsuki is nowhere to be found. âWhere is he?â
âLooking for me?â Upon hearing the voice, you turned your head so fast that you gave yourself a whiplash. âOuch,â you uttered as you held your neck.
âGod, will you be more careful?â Katsuki said as he made his way to you. He held your neck and looked at it with a very worried expression. âStill hurts?â He asked.
You looked at his face. âGod, heâs so handsome.â
He called your name. âStop staring at me and tell me, does it still hurt?â
âUh⌠yeah. It still hurts, âTsuki. I think only a kiss would help make the pain go away.â You cutely said to him while pouting.
He tsked at you and pecked your neck. âFine now?â
âYep, better.â You replied.
A strong gust of wind blew through the wide space of the parking lot, making you shiver. Katsuki didnât fail to notice that and he immediately took off his suit and draped it on your shoulder. âItâs cold in here. You wanna go back inside?â You asked as you closed the suit around you. âNot really. But I do know a warm place.â
âWhere?â
The backseat of his car sure is warm. Especially now that youâre sitting on Katsukiâs lap while he peppered your neck with kisses. His mouth was hot as he assaulted your neck with open-mouthed kisses.
You grabbed his hair and kissed his lips. Oh, his lips, soft as ever, yet very rough when he kisses you back. You felt Katsukiâs hand roam about your torso. He grabbed and squeezed your left breast while his other hand slowly opened the zipper of your dress.
After fully opening your zipper, Katsuki helped you take the garment off. He commanded you to lay down on the seat and you quickly obliged. You watched as he unbuttoned his dress shirt and threw them somewhere in the passenger seat.
Katsuki, then, kissed you again. More demanding this time. You felt as one of his hands unclasped your bra and roughly played with your breasts. Katsuki pinched one of your nipple, causing you to release a surprised gasp.
âYou like that?â Katsuki asked, his voice raspy.
âY-yes,â
Katsukiâs kisses went down to your neck, leaving bruises on their wake. His kisses, then, went down lower, to your chests. Katsuki wonât admit it but this, your chest is his most favorite part of you. He told you once that it was your heart but on his defense, your heart is inside your chest, and he loved them both.
He sucked on your chest like a starved child. His mouth was vigorous as it nipped, licked, and sucked on your them. Not that youâre complaining, you love what heâs doing. In fact, you enjoy it so much, your eyes are rolling and your hands are gripping his spiky strands of sandy blond hair.
As one of his hands are fondling your chest in tandem with his mouth, you felt the other one snake its way to your thighs. It was almost overwhelming, except youâre too greedy to care. His hand massaged your thighs, teasing its way to your clothed cunt.
You breathed heavily in anticipation to his touch. But every time his fingers brushes against your panties, he retreats them and caresses your thighs again. âKatsuki, please,â you pleaded.
âPlease what?â
âPlease touch me.â
âWhy should I?â He asked, his voice an octave lower.
You felt your face get warmer as you muttered, âSo I can cum.â
âWhat was that?â âOh, this man.â
âPlease touch me, Katsuki. I want to cum so bad!â You said, your voice a little too desperate.
âYou shouldâve said that earlier.â Katsuki replied before you felt his hand push your underwear to the side.
His slender fingers teased you entrance, making you whimper. âFuck, youâre so wet.â After coating one of his fingers with your wetness, he slowly pushed it in. âOh, fuck, Katsuki.â
He kissed your lips once again as he prodded his finger in and out of you. You moaned against his lips, which he replied with a groan. You felt him insert another finger as his thumb made its way to your clit. They all worked together, picking a fast pace. Katsuki made sure to swallow all of your moans and whimpers through the kiss. He wanted to make you scream so bad but this is just not the right place to do that.
His fingers went faster and you felt that familiar coil in your stomach. âKatsuki- fuck- Iâm cumming.â
âCum on my fingers, baby.â And that was more than enough for you to do so. You released a loud moan as your body trembled upon your climax. Katsuki guided you through your orgasm, slowly massaging your clit as you go down from your high.
He watched as you catch your breath. Your eyes, heavily lidded and your forehead, a little sweaty. But the night is young and youâre yet to finish this round.
Katsuki kissed you softly as you recover. And soon as you have, he asked you to turn around. âAss up,â he commanded and you obliged. You felt his hand made contact with your your ass, making you yelp. It hurt, but it hurt so good. âYou like when I do that, donât you? You dirty bitch.â And another smack on your ass, which made you moan.
You heard the familiar clanking of his belt. It never failed to send waves and waves of anticipation to you, especially down to your already wet cunt. You subconsciously moved your ass up higher, making Katsuki swear. âFuck, youâre really dirty.â
He pulled his pants down and stroked himself a few times. âDo you know how long I waited for you to finish that damn long conversation with Deku? I thought youâll talk the whole night. Tsk.â
âIâm sorry.â You mindlessly said.
âOh donât worry. Weâll see just how sorry you are.â
And with that, you felt Katsukiâs cock make its way to the deepest parts of you in one go. âFuck!â You moaned loudly. âHey now, you donât want everyone to hear how much you love my cock, now, would you?â He asked as he rammed his cock into you.
After receiving no replied, he once again spanked your ass, âAnswer me when I talk to you.â
âN-no. No, I donât want them t-to hear- how much I love your cock-â you finally replied, your words being slurred with your moans.
Katsuki kept on fucking you hard. You kind of wondered if the sound of his balls hitting your ass is heard from the outside but youâre too drowned in pleasure to fully contemplate about it. His thrusts were hard, deep, and fast. You couldâve sworn that the car is visibly shaking from the outside.
You felt one of Katsukiâs hand snake its way in between your legs. Katsukiâs finger draw tight circles on your clit, making you bury your face further into the seat. You tried to muffle your moans but your attempts were proven futile as you released yet another loud and long moan. Katsukiâs fingers were fast as they guide you through your second, and so far, hardest orgasm of the night.
âOh, fuck, youâre clenching my cock tighter.â Katsuki groaned as he fucks harder into you, trying to reach his own high. You felt his thrusts get sloppier by the second.
âFuck, Iâm fucking cumming.â
âCum inside me, Katsuki, please.â You pleaded as you get overstimulated with his gestures.
A string of swears left Katsukiâs lips as he ride you into his own release. You felt the warm shot of liquid paint your walls as he did so.
The two of you stayed still on his car for a while, catching your breaths and cleaning yourselves up with wet wipes. Itâs a good thing that you left a pack of them on his car, thinking that it might come in handy some time. And it did!
You inhaled the fresh air as soon as you got out. Both you and Katsuki, then, made your way inside the venue of your party. You heard Izukuâs worried voice call you, âWhere have you been? Momo and I have been looking for you!â
âOh, I- I just went out to get some fresh air.â You replied.
âItâs very cold outside though. And why are you and Kacchan kinda⌠sweaty?â Izuku asked, not sure if heâs actually seeing sweat on you and Katsuki given that it is very cold outside.
âWe just warmed ourselves up.â Katsuki replied as he snaked his arm around your hip.
âThis is going to be a looong nightâ

Let's Talk About the Alien vs Predator Films
Talk about wasted potential, am I right?
I'm struggling to format this in an interesting way, since so much has been covered over the past 20 years since the first film was released. You can read my thoughts on Aliens Franchise and the Predator Franchise as well.
Note that it doesn't include Alien: Romulus, but suffice to say it was a good movie!
I think the best place to start is with covering the themes of Alien and Predator, and the history before these films were created (and the failure of Fox).
My fellow AvP enjoyer @agendergorgon has already posted some thoughts on the topic, giving me a lot to think about, so check out their blog too!
For the purposes of this review, I am not going to include Alien 3, Alien: Resurrection, Prometheus, nor Alien: Covenant.... mostly. The AvP films really don't take much of anything beyond the first two films, though I will touch on Prometheus when it comes to religion.
Ditto for the Predator films, but that's because Predator wouldn't get a third film until 2010, 3 years after the AvP duo.
The themes of Alien Franchise:
I'm sure the first thing to come to mind is that the Alien series is about sexual assault, and you'd be correct. The xenomorph is designed to be extremely phallic, the facehuggers quite literally rape their victims, Burke locks his victims (including a child) in a room to be raped, Ash tries to murder Ripley by thrusting a rolled up porn magazine down her throat etc etc.
Some of you might also remember how Aliens was noted by James Cameron to be a criticism of the Vietnam War, Corporate Greed, and the callous arrogance of the US Military. The xenomorphs represented the innumerable "faceless" soldiers that could overwhelm more advanced enemies with ambush tactics and numbers, Burke thinks only in "goddamn percentages" and how this could benefit himself and the company, and the Colonial Marines are not only woefully mismanaged a newly brought on commander but also completely delusional with their own sense of invulnerability, only to break and panic under pressure once they meet a foe who is determined to fight to the death.
(I will NOT be tackling the fucked-upness of comparing people fighting for their independence vs a fucking Xenomorph, because holy fucking shit, it is literally the opposite AND worse counterpart to having the Predators be colonizers)
But, in the broader scope of the series, Alien - and the xenomorph - represent the uncontrollable, unfathomable, unknown. What are they? Why were they there? What are their motives? How did they end up in that ship? Were they built? How do they 'see'? Why did the xenomorph spare Jonesy the Cat? Are they intelligent life? How on earth do they function with their bizarre biology?
We don't get any real answers to these questions in the original films. The whole point of these movies is that there are things that mankind does not understand, and the horrors of space are vast. And equally terrifying is the arrogance of man (and synth kind) to think they can harness this horror for profit at the expense of human lives.
The themes of the Predator Franchise:
There's been tons of articles on how Predator is either a reconstruction or deconstruction (depending on who you ask) of the 80's action hero flick. A team of muscle laden, big gun toting, sweaty men spouting off one-liners as they mow down their enemies in a secret CIA led operation during the Cold War, interrupted by the presence of an intergalactic hunter than treats these badasses like mere toys. The massive Arnold Schwarzenegger is smacked out like a mouse facing off against a particularly cruel cat, needing to rely on tricks - not his brawns or guns - to stay alive and eventually defeat the Predator.
Others might point to its related take down of machismo. The opening scene is rife with characters testing each other's physical strength against each other such as with Dillon and Dutch, Ventura and Dutch have a small face-off in the helicopter as they try to make a pecking order, Ventura makes a whole speech about being a "sexual tyrannosaurus" and then mocked about sticking a gun up his "sore-ass", Hawkins repeatedly tries to make pussy and sex jokes, and they end up with a single woman in the group who is treated more like an object and baggage than a person for much of the movie. All of these men are emasculated by the Predator, some of them not even lasting a single second to its predations (both in tech and physicality), all of them losing any sense of quips and confidence, and the sole woman of the group survives because she didn't fit the movie's (and Predator's) mold of "tough as nails". When Arnold/Dutch is rescued by helicopter, it's not a cheerful one; he's haunted by what he endured and remains silent as the film pans into his thousand-yard stare.
All of this applies to Predator 2 as well, amping up the violence, dick measuring, and rules of the Predator targeting anyone who thinks they are tough shit for carrying a gun or knife. Even Danny Glover's victory is bittersweet, because he is now left in the middle of dozens of officer deaths, and entire subway car filled with corpses, and an antique flintlock pistol that promises the return of the Predators to Earth.
In a much broader sense, the Predator films are about the oversaturation of violence and lack of care for human life. Predator 1's main plot before he arrives is the CIA using Green Berets and then Dutch's special ops team to clean up their dirty work, giving them false information and not even reporting the Berets being MIA in furtherance of their Cold War goals (slaughtering guerrillas who were working with Soviet Russia). In Predator 2, the police are seen as being ineffective because they trample on each other's jurisdiction, with the Federal task force being willing to kill their own cops to keep the Predator existence a secret and letting it hunt people down for a better chance at capture and experimentation.
The Predator creatures are the epitome of such greed and arrogance. They are the General Zaroffs of The Most Dangerous Game, taken to a new height by showing that human lives literally mean nothing to them beyond a trophy hunt. They care nothing about our social lives, our politics, our loved ones, because for them this is nothing more than the equivalent of posh British Elite going on a Fox Hunt: cruel and sadistic, just to placate their egos. They will violate the corpses of the dead and taunt those in mourning, for the thrill of the game. And in that sense, the Predators are very human antagonists: they are not unfathomable nor are their goals beyond our understanding. The horror of the Predators is that they are creatures we can understand, communicate with, and even see similarities in their culture to ours... and that culture is putting us on a trophy rack alongside other skulls of creatures they felt a thrill to hunt.
So, did the Alien vs Predator films cover even half of these topics?
Well... kinda? Just... not well.
Not well at all.
The Build Up
Alien and Predator have a connected history dating back to the creation of the Predator itself. Stan Winston was on a flight with James Cameron some time after the famous director had finished with Aliens, and the director made a comment about wanting to see a monster with mandibles, which eventually led to the creature we know and love today.
Predator's debut on screen was also often compared to Aliens due to the superficially similar premise of a team of commandos going on a mission and fighting an unknown alien threat.
Despite what some people think, the AvP series wasn't started by the films.
Yes, there was a particularly memorable scene in Predator 2, where the City Hunter is admiring his trophy room and a xenomorph skull can be seen mounted on the wall (though, fun fact, it's actually an inaccurate depiction as xenomorph skulls look more humanoid facing), but that wasn't the first time the duo met in media.
And I'm not referring to the 1993 Arcade Game either (since that only came out a year after Predator 2).
The Alien vs Predator comic first appeared in 1989. And there were publications continuing ever since.
Think about that going forward. There was 25 years of content to choose from, storylines they could adapt, interesting forays into the cosmology and interactions between Yaujta, Xenomorphs, and Humanity.
The movies used exactly none of it (barring 1 thing: the Predalien).
Alien vs Predator (2004)
The plot of this movie is that Weyland-Yutani corporation detects a heat bloom under the ice in Antartica that reveals an underground pyramid, and in a race against his competitors, Weyland rounds up a team of elite experts led by Lex Woods to investigate the ruins (and find that the Predators have left them a convenient tunnel to enter the deep ice). Only to find out that this was a trap, as the pyramid comes to life activates a Xenomorph Queen, unleashing a brood of facehuggers on the helpless crew, all the while the Predators hunt them down. After a spectacular shitshow and release of the Xenomorph Queen, Lex and the last Predator (Scar) have to reluctantly team up to escape the pyramid and blow up the xenomorphs, ending in a final battle with the Xenomorph Queen. Scar perishes in the fight, but Lex manages to send the Queen into the depth of the artic ocean, and is rewarded by the watching Eldar Predator with a spear for her troubles. A post-credit scene reveals that Scar had a chest-burster inside of him, birthing the Predalien!
Rewatching this movie, I'm surprised at how good it looks. The opening scene of the satellite in space, several shots of the ship (and spaceship), the frozen tundra, the set pieces like the Xenomorph Queen Prison, and the CGI!
The CGI! Of 2004! I was shocked that they looked so good for something that is 20 years old now, but they did really well for themselves.
But it was the practical effects that blew me away the most. The shifting Pyramid is absolutely iconic and the abandoned whaling station is suitably creepy. The face-huggers look amazing and the xenomorphs are just *chefs kiss*. It's so funny seeing these Xenomorph effects compared to that of Alien:Covenant, and seeing how much work bodysuit and puppetry can do to make a monster look so much more terrifying than a CGI creature.
I know a lot of people didn't like the Predator's bulky appearance in this movie, but honestly... I dig it? It makes sense that not all Predators are literally built the same, and that the ones who would choose to go hunting in the artic would be the bigger ones who could hold more body heat. And the movie does a really great fucking job of making these Predators look badass and distinct from each other, with Celtic having the coolest mask of the whole group.
And the way the movie is shot is really fantastic! There are a lot of wide and tracking shots where the movie lets the atmosphere do the work instead of badgering us with words, taking its time to build up tension and soak up the visuals. One of my favorites shots they did was slow roam through the Predator ship as the systems come to life and we get to see holograms come on-line, feeding information directly into their masks. Equally good was when the Xenomorph Queen is awakened to cackling electricity and ominous lighting, showing us how vast this chamber is and how huge this Queen is in comparison to the one Ripley faces.
The same goes for most of the actions scenes, with a decent amount of cool slow-mo shots for things like Face-huggles launching themselves, Predators leaping across chasms, and showing Scar's impressive athleticism when he leaps 10 meters into the air and stabs a spear through the Queens skull.
And I can always rewatch the first time Alien Meets Predator Fight. God, that score! The music is just so damn good!!! You really feel like you are watching two massive horrors from space finally finding themselves sharing a space together.
Honestly, the Predators using the Xenomorphs as some kind of fucked up exotic pet for hunting trials and training fits the lore PERFECTLY. Itâs actually a literal fox hunt not just metaphorical (and of course, in typical Alien fashion, it all went to shit).
Aliens vs Predator: Requiem (2007)
"Wait, Ridtom/VictoriaDallonFan, are you about to say something nice about AvP:R?!"
Well, after turning up the brightness and hanging blankets over my windows and then watching the movie underneath more blankets... yes!
For one thing, the Alien and Predator effects are spectacular! Some of the best work I've seen in the franchises! The fight scenes are creative and use really cool set-pieces like the sewer and power plant, where we get to see Wolf (the name of the Predator of this movie) absolutely kick ass and slaughter his way through hordes of Xenomorphs. Not that the xenos are left in the dust, as they get plenty of murders on screen and even outsmart Wolf on occasion.
I actually like the Predalien design and the idea that itâs more intelligent than the average Xeno, including holding personal grudges and understanding Predator behavior.
And the Predator tech is really cool too! We got laser grids, land mines, power fists, converting the plasma caster into a plasma pistol And I love the moment where Wolf kidnaps one of the human protags to use as live bait. Such a dick thing to do but so in-character.
Even the bits we get of Wolf mourning his fellow dead hunters was a neat addition.
And to be honest, I didnât mind the idea of seeing an actual xenomorph infestation in real time, in a small town. I think that sort of setting would be really fun for a one-shot story.
And⌠thatâs it. Thatâs all the good stuff.
What Went Wrong?
I compiled a list of sources where I got a lot of information on the AvP production: Source 1, Source 2, Source 3, Source 4
Note that a lot of these are 20 years old so I apologize for the outdated and honestly abhorrent word use that some articles and videos may use. And another apology for using the Xenopedia wiki, it was just a good shorthand for other information.
In short: Fox fucking sucks. They will absolutely self-sabotage themselves in order to make a (perceived) profit. Tom Rothman is the most well known (and heâs gone to Sony as of now), but Fox has had a looong history of being stingy and terrified of any risks for their films.
The sheer amount of drama involving Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection is an insane rollercoaster.
AvP removed pretty much any sense of horror and purposely had the design of the Predators to be more âhumanâ and âheroicâ (hence the weird human eyes and bulky physique), with a PG-13 rating for more audience numbers. While the human characters arenât bad, they are not unique or even memorable (barring the fandom romantic tension between Lexi and the final Predator). Also, it was very weird that the Predators couldnât kill a single Xenomorph, meanwhile the Colonial Marines couldnât trip without blasting apart swarms of them. It felt like they really wanted to save money on the film in that regard.
AvP:R was even worse, with it being filmed with such a lack of lighting that people could not actually see any of the movie, and even modern advancements in color grading make it a strain. The human characters are awful, just absolutely boring and unremarkable beyond being veiled callbacks to characters from Alien, and we get a bunch of stupid Dawsonâs Creek drama involving teenagers who look like they are 30 years old fighting over a girl who has no personality because she was written to just be âhot girlâ.
If the story had focused entirely on the wife coming home from the war and dealing with the fact that her own daughter doesnât feel close or comfortable with her after years of being gone, there could have been focus and themes and yadda yadda yadda.
Also, while this movie at least has horror aspects, did we REALLY need to see the Xenomorphs eating the fetuses and belly bursting out of still screaming mothers? Like, there is horror and then there is just being gross.
Final Thoughts
I often wonder if AvP took the wind out of the sails of Prometheus. Both play with the idea of humans worshiping aliens as gods, because Ancient Aliens is fucking everywhere, but itâs really hard to take Prometheus seriously when you remember AvP did basically the same setup (with arguably smarter characters).
And these movies have really soiled the idea of the AvP franchise barring the video games and comics. Thereâs apparently an AvP anime locked up in Disney Vaults and so far, both franchises have kept their respectful distances from each other.
However, with the recent successes of Alien: Romulus and Prey, thereâs been a bit of a stir with some comments hinting at a potential AvP future.
Who knows. Itâs been 17 years, perhaps 3rd time is the charm.

Alright, I'm going to write my own thoughts down on the situation, sorry if this gets rambly
First of all, Shubble is so brave for speaking up, it's really hard for victims to speak up against there abusers in a public setting and she deserves all the respect in the world for it
That being said we do need to be mindful to give her space, this was a really traumatic thing for her and we all need to be mindful of that, give her room to breath.
On the same lines, don't go after other ccs for not ""releasing statements"", content creators aren't companies, there people. Don't get on at them for not publicly supporting Shubble, especially since there undoubtedly doing it in private, which is probably better than shoving it out there for millions of people to see. Let people support there friend in a way they and shubble are confortable with, if shubble wants them to say something or they think they need to say something themselves, they will say it.
It's like Pearl said, just because you don't see something happening publicly doesn't mean it isn't happening
Also, don't jump to call Tommy or Phil or Grian or anyone else enablers because they haven't said anything, they'll need time to process this too, it's hard to find out that your friend is a domestic abuser, let them process this in piece and don't try to cancel them over nothing like a fool. (People like Tommy will need time especially since Wilbur befriended them when they were young and by all accounts manipulated them too)
If anyone of these people have anything they feel they need to say they'll say it when there good and ready, good life tip folks:Don't Harass People. Especially if they have almost nothing to do with this (honestly Saw someone say they were going to go on to fucking RT about this despite him not knowing either person very well, the fuck)
I know why people do it, they want to make sure there favourite content creators aren't also bad, but they are people and they deserve respect, I can garentee you that almost no Qsmp or Hermitcraft or Other MCYT member who knew him stands with Wilbur
(Also if anyone brings Techno into this fuck right off let the man rest.)
Also, some brain dead morons are saying that people calling out wilbur are doing it for clout and that they should have done it sooner, but most of the abuse happened in private, and wilbur manipulated others, many wouldn't have realised anything was wrong and if they did its still better and more respectful to come forward after shubble since its HER story to tell.
(This attack also doesn't work anymore because we have things like tubbos stream, where he actively discourages his chat from treating him like a hero for speaking out, but yeah sure they all don't give a shit about shubble and just want to make themselves look better, fuck outta here)
Now, if your a former wilbur fan, let me make this super clear
DONT WATCH HIM AND DONT LISTEN TO HIS MUSIC
"BuT SePuRaTe ThE ArT FrOm ThE Arti-
Nah. That doesn't work here. You can separate a book or game or movie, you can't with a cc. Its there face, there voice, there personality. Find a different band, find a different CC to watch. There are other options, I know it sucks to find out someone you like did an awful thing, but that doesn't mean we should support those people for our sakes, especially when people were actively hurt by there actions. Trust me everyone, this will get better, things will go back to how they were before
Finally, this should go without saying, Fuck William Gold to the core of teh fucking earth. And any who still support him.
He is a raging egotistical manipulator and abuser. don't blame people for not seeing it sooner, no one can do that. What we can do though is blame people who still wholeheartedly support him and his actions.
He has not "changed" nor will he ever at the rate at which he's going. He's still a egomaniac who's more concerned with saving his image than actually apologising for his actions, even then an apology wouldn't fix all he's done,it would just be closer and a jumping off point to be better, but he can't even fucking do that.
If wilbur does reflect and grow, good on him, but if he doesn't then I can say with absolute certainty we wouldn't fucking miss him.
Fuck Wilbur. Support Shelbym
#wilbur soot#fuck wilbur soot#shubble#shelby grace#support shubble#believe victims#believe Shubble#im probably gonna disappear for the rest of the day#possibly tomorrow two#again shubble is so brave and im glad she spoke up#also sorry for the swearing im just mad#tw: abuse#tw: swearing

âAt least Namjoon didnât blow out any of the lightbulbs. Those are a nightmare to replace.â
Jimin smiled weakly when you didnât respond to his joke. His worried gaze travelled to V, who stood behind you. He shrugged.
With a sigh, Jimin sat back. You hadnât looked him in the eye as he checked your wounds, too caught up thinking. About the ways Jungkook was stronger than you. The ways you messed up. If only you had more stamina, if only you could shoot quicker, use more power.
The fight replayed in your head, displaying all the moments you could have responded better.
Was Jungkook right? Were you anywhere near ready to go out there?
âAll done.â
You blinked, finding Jimin staring back at you. How long had he been waiting?
âOh. Thanks,â you tried your best to muster a smile.
Sending you a smile in return, he stood up, placing the first aid box into the cupboard.
âItâs alright. At least you got out relatively unscathed,â he said, âjust some bruises, a couple of singes here and there.â
He winced again at the sight of the faint bruising on your neck. Though he wished he could say this wasnât like the Jungkook he knew, he would be lying.
Jungkook hurt people all the time: all of them did. But here, at home, he was usually at ease with their little family. After everything he had been through, however, Jimin knew very well how short his youngest brotherâs fuse could be.
A quiet click announced the newcomer as Hobi poked his head round the bathroom door.
âEverything alright?â he asked.
It fell a little awkwardly in the space. Nothing was alright after tensions had boiled over so violently just half an hour ago, and you all knew it. Still, you gave him a nod.
Slipping into the room, Hope leaned against the counter, dodging out of the way as Jimin threw a few band-aid wrappers in the bin.
âSorry about Jungkook,â Hope began, âhe⌠heâs a bit protective. But we thought it would get better. It should never have got this far.
âYou can do whatever you want today, get food and watch movies. I should think Kook will be training for quite a while.â
The way he said that left no doubt as to what the younger was actually doing. Images from his rage workout the other day invaded your head. Good, as long as he was away from you.
Tugging your hoodie back on to cover the bruises you had acquired, you agreed and followed the others to the living room. Soon taking up residency on the couch, you didnât intend on moving anywhere soon.
Thankfully, the others didnât expect you to either. Nor did they push you for conversation when you were so evidently staying quiet, and instead they put a film on and chatted around you.
You didnât see Jungkook that whole day.
That didnât mean he wasnât lingering in your mind, though. At the very least, the slight discomfort from the bruises he had given you served as a reminder of everything that had transpired. But your frustration fluctuated between him and yourself.
If Jungkookâs behaviour could be excused as protective, you were going to need a lot more explanation than that. What reason had you given him to hate you so much?
He hadnât given you the chance to do anything but fail since you got there, so how could you be expected to trust him?
But while you wanted him to see that you could be trusted, you started to doubt that yourself. Maybe you were trying to help the boys by joining them, but as much as you wanted to deny it, Jungkook had proved that you were weak.
For now, you didnât want to go near him, so you used that as your excuse for staying put all day, letting the household go about its day around you. But steadily, your mind filled with all the things you needed to work on. You had to patch up the gaps where your powers lacked, and you werenât going to rely on Jungkook to do it anymore.
Maybe if you proved yourself, they would want you after all? Besides showing your lack of bond with Jungkook, today had surely showed Namjoon that you werenât up to the task.
That was why he had stood you down.
Which was why you found yourself alone in a training room a few days later.
Since that day, you hadnât trained. For one thing, your trainer had cemented his place as your mortal enemy, so you had no one to practise your powers with, since the others were all preparing for other things.
As for physical training, you thought they would at least let you do that. But they insisted you needed to rest for a couple more days.
You didnât protest too much, but you knew this was how it would begin. This was their excuse to stop you training. They had given up on you, thinking you werenât good enough to join them.
You were going to show them, Jungkook above all.
Now they were away on a mission, Jungkook nowhere to be found, leaving you the opportunity at last.
With the way the last outing had gone, they had switched plans. Now, instead of waiting around for Bolt to strike, they were beginning to relocate their allies, moving important weapons and things to more secure locations, while feeding Boltâs informants the impression that the vacated premises were still operational. They hoped it would buy some time so they could formulate more of a plan to combat Bolt, without him gaining more power in the meantime.
Of course, Jungkook was still seething. He had made himself scarce the moment the others left, no doubt wanting to avoid spending any time with you.
You werenât complaining.
Breathing deeply, you assessed the targets you had set up. A smile graced your face. The last time you had trained alone, you had accomplished a lot. Maybe you would try lifting objects again.
But first, you had to work on your speed. That was the main weaknesses Jungkook had highlighted. You werenât able to keep up with him, and you had to change that.
Rolling out your stiff shoulders, wincing for a moment when it twinged the last remnants of your bruises, you raised an arm.
Your power felt a little rusty as it burst from your palm. Gritting your teeth against the slight tingle of pain, you cut it off and fired again. After a few tries, it felt pretty much normal. You werenât going to wait any longer.
Lifting both arms now, you alternated your fire, turning in the space as you tried to hit each target. You hit them all, bolstering your confidence as you took a breather and went again. You may have hit them all, but you wanted to be faster.
This time, you didnât even wait for one bolt to die away before you fired the next one. Focussing on short, sharp bursts, you let your powers pulse through the air.
The rattle and clash of metal filled the space as you shook each target in turn.
You made it around the room again, finding a rhythm, but this time you didnât stop. Bolt wouldnât stop if he was attacking you; Jungkook hadnât. You had to push through.
So when you approached the familiar feeling of your powers slipping, you simply pushed through. You maintained your speed, barely able to keep up with the pace you had set. It was like running while the ground was slipping from under you, but you stayed standing and on your toes, enjoying the exhilaration of the electricity flowing through you.
You felt its power, hot and fierce in your chest, revelling in your ability to control it.
Then, one bolt sputtered and died. You picked it up again in a split second as you fired the next lightning into the space, but it scared you. Picturing the onslaught of gold from the other day, you knew that could cost you dearly in a fight.
So while your powers protested, you pressed on. Now, you had to force out each beam of light, but you werenât about to stop. You had to improve. You had to succeed.
You didnât notice when the heat of your powers became unpleasant. That burning sensation hadnât invaded you for so long, but suddenly it was overwhelming, crashing down on you.
Gasping at the sharp pain, you staggered for a moment, not wanting to stop.
You raised your arm again. This would not defeat you. You had to push through.
Nothing came.
You searched for the familiar feeling to unleash your power, but instead you felt a tangle in your chest, a sparking ball of electricity that hissed at you like a wild animal.
Not nowâŚ
A stabbing pain lanced through your chest, blue suddenly erupting into the air. But this time it wasnât you. Your power clawed its way down your arm, leaving a burning trail in its wake.
Biting down on a pained cry, you looked around in fear at the empty training room.
Though panicked, you knew you had to control it. You had pushed just a little too far, you only needed to reign it in again.
But as you closed your eyes, trying to find the centre of your power, shut it off like you were used to, more blasts leapt from that chasm in your chest. You battled to close it down, but it had power over you now.
Blue filled the space, colliding with the walls, clattering against targets.
Your knees buckled, sending you crashing to the floor. Now, you were unable to control it as you cried out, each release of your power coming with its own wave of pain. You thought you had left this unbearable heat behind, but now it seared through your body with a vengeance as your powers ran rampant.
Control it, control it-
But you couldnât find space to breathe, let alone to calm your powers. Your arms shook, a tear breaking free from your eye as you gasped.
What had you done?
In your vision, blurry with pained tears and cut up by streaks of luminescent blue, something moved.
Though you lay panting on the floor, you squinted towards it. It was a person.
Were the others back? Your frazzled mind barely had time to wonder this, before the most pressing issue asserted itself again.
Wincing and curling in on yourself as another shot of electricity forced its way from you, you called out. Your voice was raw and shaking, but you had to protect them.
âDonât come near! Iâll- I might hurt you!â
You knew your voice was thick with tears, but surely they could understand you? Why were they coming closer?
At the same time, both a yelp of pain and a lightning bolt escaped you. Your eyes widened; the figure was directly in its path.
A flash of gold.
The figure ran closer.
Despite your state, you had enough presence of mind to feel your cheeks burning as Jungkook came to a stop in front of you, looking down at you with wide, panicked eyes. For a few seconds, his mouth opened and closed uselessly.
Then, another bolt. And another.
As they cut through the room, leaving behind their signature of burning pain, the world tilted. Your eyes squeezed shut, Jungkook forgotten as the sizzling sting of your powers took up your thoughts.
You wanted it to stop.
âControl it.â
The instruction was muttered in your ear, closer than you expected. The next moment, a weight shifted against your back, pulling you to sit upright and against something. Someone.
Still heaving for air, you shook your head.
âI- I c-canât!â
Another flash of blue, another flash of pain.
The arm that was looped around you squeezed tighter.
âYou have to. Control it.â
And then a hand was placed against your back, steady and firm compared to your own body. It nestled between your shoulder blades.
The next thing you knew, a warm sensation bloomed there. But not uncomfortable, like your own rebelling powers. It bled through you, enveloping the mess that your powers had become. Your eyes slid closed, basking in the relief from the searing pain.
You could feel your powers, a blue weight sitting in your chest. You couldnât see them, of course, but you had always felt them to be blue â not that you had realised. Not until now, at least, because the calming light that surrounded your power felt startlingly gold in comparison.
After a moment, you were collected enough to take control. With the aid of soothing gold containing your power, you were able to breathe deeply, closing off the electricity as you had done that first time in Namjoonâs office.
The gold faded.
Still, the hand on your back lingered, remaining steady.
âOkay?â
It was only now that the weight of this situation hit you. Jungkook had had to rescue you. From your own powers, no less.
You simply nodded, not trusting words to form.
At your confirmation, his hand finally left you. He had been sitting behind you, supporting you, but now he moved away. You would deny that you missed it.
But he only shifted around to your side, sliding an arm under your own.
âAre you crazy?â he asked, but there wasnât much bite behind it.
Shaking his head, he muttered a curse as he helped lift you from the ground.
âWhat were you thinking?â
Again, the usual venom was missing from his voice. You kept your eyes down, not responding.
Huffing a little, he turned towards to the door. And paused.
âCan you get upstairs?â
Chewing on your lip, you kept your eyes fixed on your mug. You found the blanket you were wrapped in very interesting all of a sudden, fiddling and tugging at it with your free hand.
It was quiet.
It had been quiet for a while now, but neither of you were particularly inclined to change that.
Jungkook sat across from you, stiff and upright in his seat while you were huddled inside a blanket. He had sort of thrown it at you earlier. He hadnât given you a second glance, instructing you rather coldly to sit, but it had to be the closest thing to affection he had ever shown you.
He was also holding a mug of tea. Perhaps it was just for show; he hadnât lifted it once.
In a moment of weakness, your eyes darted up. You instantly regretted it, as you found his gaze already trained on you, and you both hurriedly averted your eyes again.
Just for something to do, you took a sip of tea, the slurp painfully audible in the silence. Your hand still shook a little when you lifted the mug.
Lowering it slowly, you chewed on your cheek.
âThanks.â
You blurted it out without much consideration, the silence finally becoming too much for you.
Unfortunately, the quiet hung around a bit longer. Warily raising your eyes again, you watched Jungkook for a reaction.
His eyes were avoiding you, looking instead at a blank spot on the wall.
Then he sucked in a breath, leaning forwards to deposit his still-full mug on the coffee table.
âSo do you want to tell me what you were doing?â
Finally his eyes turned to you, leaving you breathless. Your shame over what happened made words stick in your throat, but you knew you would have to explain.
Tearing your gaze from his to glare at your mug again, you felt your cheeks heating up. But you forced yourself to talk.
âYou⌠you were right the other day. Iâm not strong enough, or fast enough. I was trying to work on that â on my speed. I thought if I pushed myself, it might help. But I⌠I just lost control.â
Letting out a breath when you finished speaking, you looked up hesitantly. A light frown was on Jungkookâs face as he assessed you. He was thinking a little too hard for your liking.
He sat back.
âYou remind me of Bolt.â
If you were still drinking, you would have choked. Your eyes widened, not knowing how to respond to that. In your search for words, all you could manage was an indignant but half-hearted excuse me?
A smirk quirked the corner of Jungkookâs mouth.
âYouâre so pig-headed,â he began, âyou treat your powers like some sort of game and pretend youâre good at everythingâŚâ
You simply stared, disbelieving. Was he seriously saying this to your face?
âAnd when you want something, you decide youâre getting itââ he eyed you before adding âânot to mention all the blue shit.â
He gestured in the general direction of all of you. You gaped.
But then he dropped his gaze, sighing.
âI⌠wanted to knock you down. Youâre way too good at everything. You remind me of Bolt because heâs indestructible. Or it seems that way.â
Finally managing to scoff at his words, you shook your head incredulously.
âSo now you think Iâm good enough?â
âI didnât want you going out there, okay?â he snapped, âI donât trust you.â
âJust because my powers look like Boltâs? Is that it? I never asked for this-â
âI know.â
Jungkookâs voice was softer now, startling your rant to a halt. His hands were clasped, elbows resting on his knees. And he wouldnât quite look you in the eye.
âYouâre not like Bolt. Heâs the one that hurt you. I just couldnât separate the image of you from him, what with you being so⌠obnoxious, and determined.â
He paused. Sighed.
âAnd I lied, okay?â his voice was quiet, âyouâre fine. Your speed is good, you could pretty much keep up with me, and thatâs saying something. I thought youâd know better.â
A frown creased your brows together. Now you were confused.
Looking up once again, he met your eyes.
âYou shouldnât push your powers, surely the others told you that? They can reach their limit, and Iâm fairly sure yours did when we fought. Today was too soon, you shouldnât have worn them out like that. You wonât be able to use them for a while. Not like that, anyway.â
âLike what?â
âFast. You overwhelmed them, it might take a bit to build up your speed again.â
You swallowed, not wanting to believe his words.
âOr, you just want me out of training-â you bit back, but he cut you off.
âOh, I couldnât care less,â he sniggered, âgo ahead and burn out your powers for all I care. Iâm just telling you.â
You didnât really know what to say to that. You simply tugged your blanket a little tighter around your shoulders.
âTurns out youâre human just like the rest of us.â
Was that supposed to be a compliment? Or an insult? You couldnât really tell.
After a moment holding his gaze, you went back to your tea. The two of you seemed to agree on one thing at least, and that was avoiding each otherâs eyes as the silence stretched on.
Even once your mug was emptied, you fidgeted with it, letting your fingers slide around the handle for something to do. Jungkookâs words turned over in your head. It was probably the closest he had ever come to giving you actual advice. Perhaps you should take it, give your powers a rest for a short while.
It surprised you that Jungkook hadnât yet left. He looked remarkably awkward on the other couch, refusing to relax into the seat but sitting ramrod straight on the edge instead, insisting for some reason on staying there.
Never before had he voluntarily endured your presence for this long.
He seemed to notice you sizing him up. He turned his gaze to find you watching him with your head tilted. And somehow, he too looked hesitant, far from the confidence you usually saw in him.
You swallowed, but didnât look away.
âDonât tell the others?â
Your voice was quiet but clear in the space. Jungkook quirked an eyebrow.
âYouâre really determined to join us, arenât you?â
With a sigh, your expression softened. You finally looked away, picking absently at your blanket while you replied.
âI agree with what you guys are doing. Bolt tried to kill me, all because I was just⌠there, at the wrong time. I didnât matter to him. That doesnât seem like someone who cares about protecting people. So I donât want him to get whatever he wants with those weapons heâs collecting.â
Expecting the usual argument about you being of no use, you kept your eyes stubbornly down. But Jungkook was quiet.
If you looked up, you would have seen him blinking at you. Curious, almost.
But you never did, not until his expression clouded over again and he made to speak.
âAnd if the others knew you did something this stupid, theyâd keep you away from the action even longer.â
You rolled your eyes, but had to admit that Jungkook wasnât wrong.
âPretty much,â you conceded, âand I do want this. It finally feels like I have a purpose.â
You had never expected to be so blisteringly honest with Jungkook, but when you laid beseeching eyes on him, you knew you had got through somehow.
Seemingly displeased with his own decision, his mouth straightened into a line.
âFine. I wonât tell them. But you better not do it again, you know Iâll get the blame as well.â
You werenât sure if that was entirely true, but if Jungkook wanted to make that his reason for helping you out, then so be it.
At last, it seemed he had reached his limit with you. He stood abruptly, casting one more glance at you, and strode away. Watching his retreating form, you sunk further into the sofa. A subtle smile took up residence on your face.
You hadnât even put the tv on. Silence filled the apartment and you stared up at the ceiling from your position on the sofa.
Since you and Jungkook talked a few days ago, he had, surprisingly, kept his word. Around the others he stoically ignored you as normal, but also diligently kept his mouth shut about your little accident.
You suspected he also didnât want to admit to helping you. But whatever kept him quiet worked for you.
It was true that he glanced over at you more often despite his continued frosty attitude towards you. Or perhaps you were imagining that? He was just glaring at you like always â only, you began to read into it too much. Now you two shared a secret, in a sense, it meant that every time his eyes locked with yours they seemed to hold more significance.
However, you had to remind yourself nothing had changed. The two of you were still only here because you were stuck together on Namjoonâs orders. Which was the same reason Jungkook had been the one to help you before.
No, nothing had changed.
Turning your head, you let your cheek fall against the cushion as you hesitantly gazed at the tv. Maybe you should put it on, just to fill the silence?
The lack of noise in the house served as proof that Jungkook wanted as little to do with you as ever. The moment the boys were out, he made himself scarce.
At least you had been permitted to learn more about what exactly they were doing when they went out. They were leaving the house more and more frequently, and for longer stretches of time. Given Boltâs movements, and his startling power at their last encounter (due to the weapons he had stolen from Kuyang), the boys were launching a counter-operation.
If they couldnât defend their allies from a direct attack, they had to bide their time until they could build an attack strategy.
So for now, they were relocating important developers to throw Bolt off. Stop him before he could gain even more power; before he became too much of a match for them.
Jin seemed fairly confident that they had tracked Boltâs sources well enough to feed him misinformation to keep him unaware of their movements. The only risk now lay in the transportation of what you could only assume were deadly weapons through the city.
Standing on the kitchen counter was a small black receiver. You could turn it on if you wanted, hear what was happening.
You were contemplating it when something pulled at your thoughts. Your focus frayed, distracted by that incomprehensible feeling that there was someone behind you.
Flipping over on the sofa, you found Jungkook leaning against the wall. His arms were folded, but there was no glare entrenched on his face. Startled, you eyed his damp hair, the oversized black shirt hanging from his shoulders.
Clearly he had just come from a shower, so why wasnât he going to train?
The absence of a scowl was really throwing you off. He didnât look totally comfortable, expression tight and slightly expectant, but what did he want with you?
You raised your eyebrows in question.
He blinked at you, then his eyes slid away from your face, looking somewhere over your head and through to the kitchen.
âTraining,â he said.
You continued to stare, but he just as stubbornly avoided your eyes.
After another moment, you huffed and sat up.
âTraining?â you echoed.
âWeâre going to training.â
ââŚwe?â
âYou heard me.â
His response was dry. Already, he was pushing away from the wall and turning his back on you, leaving you little choice but to follow.
Leaving the couch and hurrying after him, you made it to his side on the stairs.
âI thought I wasnât supposed to use my powers? AfterâŚâ
âNot for speed,â he corrected you, eyes fixed ahead.
A frown furrowed your brow as you reached the training space. Today, you remained in the main, largest room. There was no one around and clearly Jungkook didnât have want of the targets you normally used, as he stopped right in the middle and turned to you.
His brows were pinched, clearly a little hesitant about this. You noticed the way his teeth pulled slightly at his lower lip.
âPower,â he said.
You stared. With a subtle roll of his eyes, he elaborated.
âApart from speed, thatâs what you need to work on. You need to connect with your powers, feel like the light is an extension of you. Since you canât work on your agility, itâs time to think about force.â
Nodding, you felt your confidence raise a little. When you had trained by yourself before, you had hit upon that exact feeling he described, an almost physical connection that let you lift the target.
Plus, using a little force would be more than welcome, with the pent up tension you had felt since your last disastrous practice.
Jungkook took your confirmation and stepped forwards into line with you, holding your gaze. He held his arms slightly away from his body, palms facing you.
âSummon your powers and push against me,â he instructed.
It took you a moment to get your bearings and prepare to use your powers. It had been a while. You tried to hide your slight wince when you searched for the powers only to find a scorching, tangled mess where they usually flowed from, like someone had knotted barbed wire there.
Swallowing, you let your eyes slide shut for a moment. It was as if your power was hissing at you, an animal you had to coax from hiding.
But coax it you did, the first slight tug leading them to easily unravel until the electricity flowed through your veins again. Beside a slight tremor in the flow of blue light you released, it seemed fairly normal.
Surely Jungkook wouldnât approve of the clumsiness with which you handled your powers, though? But when you looked up, he only appeared focussed.
With a small nod as your powers shot through the air, his eyes clouded with gold and his own luminous lightning welled in his hands.
He didnât fire a strong bolt to match yours. It appeared that he held a small golden fountain in each hand, bubbling gently, just enough to dispel your blue electricity before it could strike his palms.
Your eyes connected.
It was curious, how Jungkookâs eyes looked so much less deadly when they were literally glowing with power. As you held his gaze, you felt no urge to look away. Instead, his focus, gentle and firm at the same time, affirmed you.
Taking a breath, you continued to let your powers flow freely.
âConcentrate on your powers,â he spoke in a low voice, âfeel them moving through you. Then follow that feeling outwards, feel where they connect with me.â
Taking in his words with a determined nod, you searched within you for the feeling he spoke of.
This time, you didnât close your eyes. You were already familiar with the taste of your power in your veins, and found it with little effort.
But you stared into those gold eyes as you searched for him, the sight of them making it easier to find the corresponding sensation. Colliding with your power, you were surprised to stumble across a warmth pulsing against them. You hadnât even realised you had followed the flow of your powers outside your fingertips; the feeling hadnât altered as far as you could tell.
Sure enough, however, there was Jungkook â it was undeniable. Inexplicably, the intensity of his eyes felt the exact same as the fiery power rushing to meet your own lightning.
Before you could say anything, Jungkookâs lips twitched into a smirk.
âYou can feel it, right?â
Now you had found it, it was easy to hold onto the sensation of his powers as they met your own.
Elated, you exhaled with a smile. His grew too.
âIâm going to push back now,â he said, âkeep the connection. Itâll be like arm wrestling, only with our powers.â
You knew you should have felt a little sceptical about that. If it was anything like arm wrestling, Jungkook would be able to topple you in a second. He had been training much longer than you, and was undeniably stronger.
In fact, all you felt was an ignition in your chest, competitiveness flaring up inside you.
Jungkookâs expression shifted into focus. His smirk slipped into a concentrated line.
Where the gold in his eyes had been rippling lazily, it now grew in ferocity, blazing harshly in contrast to the abysses of his dark pupils.
The instant his powers switched, you felt it. No longer a soft warmth, they sent a jolt through you as they connected in earnest, the threads of your electricity fusing together like wires and throwing out a ball of sparks.
The molten light warred in the air between you, your eyes no doubt as vivid as Jungkookâs as you allowed more power through your palms to match his force.
To your surprise, they complied instantly. It seemed your powers were enjoying being let out like this, having lashed out the last time when you had stubbornly forced them to stop and start. With the growing power flowing from you, their connection with Jungkook strengthened as well. You could sense a distinctly gold force clashing with your powers.
Even though you could see the point where your powers converged, the feeling allowed you to notice every minute crackle of electricity, every pulse of Jungkookâs lightning.
Just like before, when you had lifted the target, your powers felt much more than just a fleeting rush of sparks. They formed a bridge outwards from your body, reaching beyond.
You felt strong.
And if Jungkook wanted to wrestle, you werenât going to go down easily.
Channelling yet more power outwards, you pushed hard against his gold powers where they met your own.
For a moment, you succeeded in subduing the opposing force. Sparks flew again, Jungkook staggering back a step as the gold light retreated from your advance, blue dominating the bolt of energy that connected you two.
Jungkook smiled.
The next moment, it became clear he had been waiting for you to get used to the feeling and make a move. But you had no time to be touched by his newfound patience as you found yourself battling against a renewed burst of pressure from his end.
Raising your arms to be level with your shoulders, aiming at him, you gritted your teeth and stubbornly weathered the temptation to step back as his powers shoved against yours.
Now both of you were using all your energy, the connection was more vivid than before. You could sense every vein of the electricity, his as well as yours. Finding strength from somewhere, you resisted his onslaught and managed to take a step forwards.
Your tussle continued, fire against fire, both of you matching the otherâs power but advancing until you were practically toe to toe.
Outstretched, slightly above your head, your hands were level, vibrant light still connecting them although his palm was just inches from yours. A waterfall of blue and gold sparks fell between your faces while you stared at each other with blazing eyes. Your breathing was heavy, trying to keep up with his relentless power, but Jungkook was also panting, damp hair falling over his eyes.
You were out of breath, but the warm air brushing over your face from Jungkookâs lips assured you that you werenât the only one.
A sharp, exhilarated smile lit up his mouth. A brow quirked, his words breathless as he spoke.
âNot bad. Hold itâŚâ
Sucking in a breath, you prepared for one last effort. Avoiding Jungkookâs eyes had long left your priority list, and now you were drawn in by the burning gold within them. It was like you were staring at the sun, but you couldnât look away, not even when their light grew, yet more of his power flowing through you.
His gaze burned just as intently back, eyes trained on your own which were surely lit up blue. A slight crease formed in his brow, perhaps from concentrationâŚ
Again, you matched his power even as he overloaded the connection, more and more energy sparking in the air-
His gaze flitted away, the connection cutting abruptly.
For a moment, the brightness of the sparks, and Jungkookâs eyes, left dazzling prints on your vision even as they sputtered from existence. Air rushed in and out of your lungs, the exertion not hitting you until now.
Without the channel to focus your energy, you staggered back from Jungkook, blinking in the relative dimness.
Sensing the strength that had drained from you, you let yourself take another step to sink against the wall behind you. Breathing still heavy, you looked up at Jungkook. Though his chest heaved too, cheeks slightly flushed under his dripping hair, he hadnât moved an inch.
Only when you met his eyes, which had returned to their regular darkness, did he start, quickly marching away to grab water bottles from the corner of the room.
One flew in your direction. Just about managing to snatch it from the air, you took an eager sip. Now you had had time to catch your breath, a strange silence settled.
âHow did it feel?â
Jungkook wasnât even looking at you. He had made his way to the bottom of the staircase, and now leaned against them, apparently finding the floor very interesting.
Hesitantly, you made your way closer, following a step behind as he started climbing back to the main house.
âYeah, my powers, they feel⌠it wasnât painful,â you replied, âtheyâre like normal again.â
Jungkook nodded.
âYou did good. Still, donât push it.â
By then, you had reached the top of the stairs. After pausing for a moment, Jungkook awkwardly moved away to the kitchen, while you hung back to have a shower.
The odd tension that had clung to the space between you since training occupied your mind as the water flowed over you, reinvigorating your tired body. In a way, it was just like usual. You and Jungkook had never been comfortable around each other.
But then why did it feel odd now?
The training session had given you a taste of something different. For once, Jungkook hadnât spent the time trying to antagonise you. Instead, you had a real chance to push yourself.
It was probably the fact that, after so long without using your powers, you simply missed feeling the rush of electricity. No matter if it was also because connecting with Jungkook's powers had felt so thrilling too.
That thought was gone as quickly as the water running over you. Outside the training room at least, you knew where you stood. And that was very, very far from Jungkook.
Which is why you were so perplexed when you reached the kitchen, and didnât find it empty.
Pausing in the hallway, you honestly considered turning back around and leaving. Trust Jungkook to try and claim the kitchen since you were absent.
But you werenât going to be deterred. You were hungry.
It was his fault anyway, for training you so hard, so you took a breath and pushed your damp hair behind your shoulder before striding into the space.
At first, you made your best attempt at keeping your chin up, confident while also acting as if you magically couldnât see Jungkook at all. It was how you usually approached each other. Unfortunately, you couldnât stop yourself from noticing that whatever he was making wasnât going well.
Halfway through throwing your own ingredients onto the counter, you stopped to cast a sceptical eye over the mess he was making. He was making an equally good show of not noticing your presence, and continued throwing in random sauces, not before eyeing them all fairly hesitantly first.
Biting your lip, you shrugged it off and turned your eyes back to your own dinner.
But you could no longer ignore it when he took a taste from his spoon and quite literally recoiled.
Loudly putting your knife down, you sighed in frustration.
âDo you want some help?â
Quickly straightening out his face from the way it had been screwed up from the taste, he blinked around at you. He really did look surprised at your presence.
You rolled your eyes, marching over to him and peering into his pan.
âWhat are you making?â
Folding his arms across his chest, you could hear the pout in his voice as he replied.
âTteokbokki.â
You stared. At the food, which certainly did not resemble tteokbokki, and then at Jungkook.
âNo youâre not.â
âI am! Jin always makes it like this!â
âMaybe when heâs making something for his science experiments,â you scoffed.
Defiant, Jungkook reached for his packet of soft rice cakes, totally ignoring you. You had to lunge across the counter to save them from a grizzly fate in that pan of definitely not tteokbokki.
Deep down, he clearly agreed with you, because he didnât protest all that much as you forcibly removed the pan from the stove, depositing the whole mess in the bin.
âThis is how youâve been eating?â
Jungkook looked a little startled, his eyes wide for a moment before he managed to resurrect his scowl.
âWe ran out of ramen,â he muttered.
You stared at him in disbelief. Had no one taught him to cook?
âWhat would Jin say?â you huffed, returning to the stove and elbowing him out the way.
Before long, you had your own meal cooking, now with some extra added. After a few moments, Jungkook had skulked away, watching you silently from the table. Once again, you pretended not to pay him any mind.
Two steaming bowls of (actually edible) food eventually made it to the table.
Sitting down opposite him, neither of you began for a moment. Each of you was waiting for the other to do something.
When at last you reached for your chopsticks, the sound was deafening against the strained silence between you.
Perhaps Jungkook was encouraged to see you didnât drop dead after taking a bite, because he finally started to eat as well. Not that you let yourself look at him beyond the odd brief glance. You kept your attention firmly on the meal, which was actually quite tasty if you did say so yourself.
âThanks.â
You nearly jumped out of your skin, eyes shooting up to stare at Jungkook. He stopped mid-bite, big eyes returning your bewildered gaze as if he had no idea who had spoken.
You blinked. Clearing your throat, you averted your gaze again, picking at your food.
âNo problem.â
âItâs nearly as good as Jinâs,â he drawled next.
Disbelieving, you swallowed your next bite and raised your eyebrows.
âAre you seriously trying to come for me after I gave you food?â
âThatâs a compliment!â he defended.
âSure.â
âFine,â he huffed, attacking his food a bit more aggressively.
Taking a breath, you chewed your lip. Jungkook took a bite with more force than strictly necessary, brows furrowed. Maybe he had really meant it in a nice way?
You had trouble believing that, somehow.
âItâs a hell of a lot better than yours would have been,â you grumbled, then paused. âbut⌠I suppose Jin is a very good chef.â
For a moment, Jungkook didnât reply. But he finished chewing and set his chopsticks down a bit more gently.
âWhy would I have to practise cooking when heâs always here to do it?â he murmured.
Deciding for once to take the opportunity to ease the situation, you smiled.
âI donât blame you.â
Both of you allowed a temporary ceasefire to settle as you cleared your plates. You didnât miss Jungkookâs glance towards the little black receiver standing on the table.
With the frequency of operations at the moment, it was clear Namjoon classed the whole situation with Bolt as an emergency. Jungkook hadnât been wrong â Jin was usually there, or one of the others, to cook. As much as it still surprised you that he was so clueless, you saw that prying was going to get you nowhere.
He wasnât the only one that missed the others, though. Or hoped they were okay.
You leaned over and turned the receiver on.
Thank you for reading! I really mean it, it's wonderful now I'm finally sharing this story to hear what you guys think as we go through it!! I appreciate every last one of you who commentsđđ

Hiii!! I love your work and just love how cute it is 𼚠could you by chance do a blurb about reader meeting mike through luca guadagnino? How imagine it is that reader is a big film fan, she loves movies and her favorite directors are luxa guadagnino, sophia coppola, and gregg araki (you donât have to actually know them lol) and so reader gets into movie making obviously and at first luca sees her as a muse and with that they work together. reader isnât any movies yet, because sheâs a little shy, but she gets to be behind the scenes on a lot of lucaâs movies. so when challengers is in the making reader just attracts mike, her gentleness and playfulness, he just loves her vibe.
Hope this satisfies your request!!
You always loved movies. More specifically what was behind every scene and dialogue in a movie. You got very specific film directors as your heroes. You looked up to them so much and you got the chance to meet one of them.
You had the extraordinary opportunity to meet Luca Guadagnino through one of the masterclasses that your college organized. Since then you got more and more inspired to work on a set someday. You got to talk to him and he was so nice to share tips with you.
Finally the day of your graduation arrived and you found out that he was open to guide you on your first experience on a real set through an internship. Of course you accepted.
You got sent a copy of the script, the movie was called âChallengersâ and it got you really intrigued from the first time you read.
Your first day on set, you were extremely nervous. You soon found Luca who brought you on a little tour of the set: he let you meet the crew, he let you see all the work spaces, your trailer and he let you meet the lead actors of the movie. All three of them welcomed you and you got to spend some time with them while the crew prepared everything to film the scenes.
When you got back to Luca, he let you sit beside him.
âYou know, You look really good among all those actors⌠have you ever thought of becoming one?â he asked you curiously.
âOh⌠no, Iâd rather stay behind the cameraâ you told him. The real reason was that you canât stand a camera pointed at you, youâve always been a very shy person so youâd prefer to point the camera to somebody else.
âOH ok⌠well itâs never too lateâ he said. You smiled at him.
They started shooting their scenes and you couldnât have asked for anything better than seeing Zendaya act live in front of you. And it just got better when you got to see Josh and Mike too. There was something about Mike Faistâs acting, he was extremely charismatic. He was brilliant and mesmerizing.
âOkay, weâre gonna take a break now!â said Luca, âYou can do whatever you want but first when they get back from changing clothes, give them these other scenes to prepare for todayâ he added before getting up from his chair.
After Zendaya and Josh got back you gave them the scenes. Mike got back a little later and he came straight to you.
âYou have my scenes, right?â he said.
âYes, here you goâ you gave him his papers.
âThank you⌠uhm⌠are you gonna be here for the rest of the shooting?â he asked.
âI think so, Luca didn't give me a limit on the internshipâ you said.
âOh, great⌠see you around thenâ he said, smiling a little.
He was so intriguing, he never got a lot out of himself so that you hoped to speak to him another time. And you did, every time you spoke on set, you wanted to know him more.
After four weeks of internship and filming you two were bonding so much: you laughed together and it was mutual, he made you laugh and you made him laugh. Sometimes he would bring coffee to everyone but made sure you were the last one to get it so that he could sit with you and chat as his first thing in the morning. He would do anything to spend time with you when he wasnât filming. You couldnât really explain to yourself how he was so drawn by you, but somehow you were and you were enjoying his attention. It wasnât like any other guyâs way of approaching you. He didnât touch you or joke in the way all the other boys did. He was genuinely courting you and you liked it. Everything was a surprise, you never knew what he was gonna do the next day.
But one day he surprised you the most.
âEhi⌠What are you doing tomorrow night?â
The question was obviously approaching another predictable question. You were wearing your headphones because you were watching some scenes from the movie to study the way Luca worked and how his final work looked, but you heard him anyway. You took out the headphones and moved your gaze to him, standing tall beside you.
âI guess Iâm going out with you,â you said.
He smiled with his lips only but it was a wide smile anyway.
âGreat, Iâll be at your place at 8â he said.
â8 is fineâ you said back.
You couldnât stop looking into each otherâs eyes and you couldnât stop smiling. Luckily or unluckily, Luca broke the bubble that was forming around you and everyone got back to work.
The next day you went out on your date. He picked you up and took you to a nice restaurant. Everything about that date reflected his personality, he was a gentleman, an old style one, so the date he organized was very traditional and you loved it.
The night you spent together was amazing but when you got in the car so that he could bring you home, something, a very specific question, was itching on your tongue.
âWhy me?â you spit out.
He looked at you, very surprised, âWhat?â
âWhy did you bring me out on a date? Itâs not like Iâm the only girl on set and Iâm definitely not the closest crew member you work with. There are some gorgeous makeup artists on setâŚâ you started blurring out.
âYes, theyâre gorgeous. And you are too. But what really took me out of you itâs your kindness, your joyfulness, I never saw anyone working on a filming set with your vibe and you inspired me, you got me thinking about why Iâm doing this in the first placeâ he explained.
His answer took you out, it startled you.
âOhâŚâ
âIs that enough of a good reason?â he said, starting up the car and smiling.
âYesâŚâ
He took you home and to finish up the already traditional date night, he kissed you goodnight on your porch.

â MAKE IT RIGHT THIS TIME
PAIRING â Erik Lehnsherr x fem!Mutant!Reader
SUMMARY â Youâre a teacher at Charlesâ school where you live with your daughter but the life youâre living is far from what you want it to be. After a disagreement with Charles about your role in his institution, you pay your husband a visit. Maybe thereâs still a chance to make the things right.
AUTHORâS NOTE â I wanted to write it for MONTHS ??? and I finally did in one sitting and Iâm so proud of myself! I know that not many people are into XâMen fics anymore (???) but honestly, I just had to write it and get it out of my system đ Itâs based very very loosely on the plot of the movies and takes place more less when Dark Phoenixâs plot is. Readerâs mutation is NOT specified.
WORD COUNT â 3,150
ENGLISH IS MY SECOND LANGUAGE.
MAKE IT RIGHT THIS TIME
Raven was pissed. You knew her long enough to see it in her eyes and the way her fingers twitched nervously now and then. Everyone focused on Jane after the weird incident in outer space but from the corner of your eye, you could see Ravenâs anger. And you were observing her because you were pissed, too. You knew she would be on the same page with you.
Risking your life for Charles was supposed to be over now. You didnât sign up for any of that â tight, pathetic superheroâs suit and journalists taking pictures of you leaving the ship, asking you questions; all the sensation and headlines. You never wanted to be a hero. You just wanted to be with your people â with other mutants â safe and happy. You wanted peace.
Charles mostly cared about his schoolâs PR in front of the humans and it was exhausting. It was nothing like you had been imagining your life to be. Especially now, when you had so much to lose.
Raven went to Charlesâ office to argue with him but you didnât join her. You had your disagreements in the past but you knew she was tough enough to do it without your backup and you were needed somewhere else anyway.
You passed a bunch of kids â your students â congratulating you on the staircase.
âThat was so cool, Mrs. Lehnsherr!â some boyâs cheeks blushed as he gasped like he was choking on air. You faked a kind smile at him.
You didnât want him to think that risking your life for Charles was something admirable. You didnât want to raise these kids to be superheroes. You just wanted them to be mutants capable of controlling their forces; future adults feeling comfortable in their own skin.
âThank you, darling,â you whispered before opening the wooden door and disappearing inside the room. You took a deep breath out of relief when all the outside noise became muffled behind the door.
âMum!â a young girlâs voice whined and you smiled at the girl laying on the bed. She took her headphones off and pouted at you, âYou havenât knocked!â she scolded you.
Edie was eight years old now â big enough to want her privacy and you hated that. Not because you didnât want her to have her own space but because you hated to see her so grown up. You wished her to stay little forever like she was when she was two or three, giggling in her fatherâs arms when he was throwing her in the air in the kitchen.
You smiled sadly at the memory.
âIâm sorry, Edie. I had to hide from them as fast as I could,â you sighed and sat on the edge of her bed. She turned off her walkman and put the headphones away. âWhy werenât you waiting for me downstairs? I couldnât wait to see your face.â
âYou know why, mum,â she sniffled and you furrowed your brows before looking at her face. Then you spotted the dried out tears on her cheeks.
âOh, Edie,â you gasped before pulling her closer and hugging her tight. She pressed her face to your chest and you hid your face in her hair before kissing the top of her head. âMummy will always come back to you, little Edie.â
Edie hated you going on missions. She was terrified that you wouldnât come back to her. She often refused to watch anything related to them on TV (which was difficult) and she would just sit in her room and block out the noise with her headphones.
âIâm back, Iâm fine,â you caressed her back.
âI know that you all almost died today. I was nervous and I changed the radio station to news,â she admitted and sobbed as her small body trembled in your arms. Your heart broke.
âI promise I wonât ever go again,â you bit on your lower lip as your eyes filled with tears, too.
âYou always say that and then uncle Charles asks you for one last favour.â
You didnât answer her. She was right.
âI miss dad,â she added and you froze at that.
âI miss him, too,â you only admitted, almost inaudibly.
âWhy canât we be with him?â Edie looked up to meet your gaze. You caressed her wet cheeks and sighed.
âYou know why, Edie. Itâs not the kind of life Iâd want for us.â
âAnd this is?â she asked innocently but once again there was no answer from you.
You just didnât know what to say.
âYou can visit your dad tomorrow. How about that?â you proposed to make her feel better and she nodded eagerly while giving you a wide smile.
âYouâre driving too fast, mum,â Edie giggled and her voice brought you back to reality. You slowed down immediately after realising that she had been right.
âIâm sorry,â you sighed. âIâm angry.â
âBecause weâre going to see daddy?â
âNo. I had a fight with uncle Charles this morning,â you admitted.
âAbout yesterday?â
âYes,â you nodded but refused to share the details. Edie was too young to be burdened with things like that.
âDo you think dadâs gonna like my new trick?â she grinned at you, playing with the metal balls inside her hand. She had recently learnt how to make them float in all sorts of ways and even change their shape. Sometimes it was funny and sometimes it was visually beautiful.
âI think heâs gonna love it,â you assured her and parked the car on the roadside near the trailer park where Erik and his followers lived.
Of course he refused to call them followers. These days, they were just comrades or whatever. But you werenât a fool. Youâd known him for years. He always had followers.
Edie was practising her tricks while walking alongside you all the way to the trailer park and you were smiling at her and pretending to listen to her rambling but, in fact, you were far away with your thoughts.
You were looking around and caught yourself wondering⌠Would it really be that bad to live there? Of course the standard was way worse than Charlesâ huge mansion and you had your responsibilities back at school â all your kids to teach. On the other hand, they werenât really your kids and there were other teachers, while Erikâs trailer park just felt more free and you knew that it would make Edie happy to live there.
Of course only if Erik wanted you there as well, which wasnât so obvious.
The forest path ended and you found yourselves inside the trailer park. Edie ran off ahead and you tried to stop her but it was pointless. She felt comfortable there and seemed not to notice all the curious and suspicious eyes. People living with Erik knew who you were but they always stared at you like you were actually sent there with a military squadron supposed to arrest or kill them. After all, your kind â mutants living with Charles â was known for working with humans for the sake of the friendship between the species.
âHey, little one!â a female voice greeted Edie and you turned around to see a young woman patting your daughterâs head. You had seen her before while taking Edie to Erik or picking her up. That womanâs name was Monica and she seemed to be close with your husband.
Husband by name only. For some reason you had never divorced. There was never any occasion to do so.
âHi, Monica!â Edie smiled at her and you squinted your eyes at them. Edie had never told you much about Monica. Only that she had been nice.
You had your reasons to believe that Monica was actually Erikâs girlfriend and Edie just chose to cover up for them.
But there was nothing to cover up. It was Erikâs right to live his life without you. It was your choice not to live with him. It was your decision to split up for Edieâs good. Without Edie, youâd go to the end of the world with Erik back in the day. Youâd burn the whole world alongside him. You almost did once anyway.
Edie changed everything. You didnât regret her, though, not even for a moment.
âHi, Monica,â you stood behind Edie and put your hand on your daughterâs shoulder. Monica looked at you with a smirk. âIs Erik around?â you asked.
âYeah, let me get him,â she answered before turning around and disappearing inside one of the small houses.
He went outside a short moment after.
It had been years now since he changed so much but every time you saw him after a long while of not seeing him, you felt weird because he looked so different than at the beginning of your relationship. You didnât mean his face getting older but he used to be such an elegant man in his turtlenecks, jackets, sunglasses and haircut. Nowadays, he was just wearing T-shirts and didnât shave for days when he didnât feel like it. Edie would often complain about his stubble scratching her face when they were hugging.
âHi,â you greeted him awkwardly.
âHi,â he looked a bit surprised and opened his arms for Edie. She ran into them and jumped on her dad. He picked her up and kissed her cheeks. âI didnât expect you.â
âEdie wanted to see you,â you approached them and rubbed her back. âIâm sorry. Should have called⌠But you donât really use your phone, do you?â
âI donât know where it is,â Erik admitted.
âYeah, thatâs what Iâm talking about.â
âBut you havenât been here with her in such a long time. I thought Iâd never see her again,â he said and you felt guilty.
âDonât be stupid, Erik. Itâs just⌠I was very busy,â you looked down.
âMum saved the world yesterday,â Edie giggled as her dad put her down on the ground. Erik furrowed his brows at you.
âI didnât. Jane did, actually. KindaâŚâ you chuckled nervously.
âThey almost died, daddy,â Edie lowered her voice and swallowed thickly. You took a deep breath in.
âI know. Iâve listened on the radio,â he confessed and you looked up, surprised. âEdie, can I talk to your mum for a while?â
âBut daddy, I wanted to show you a trick!â
âYou can show me later, okay?â He caressed her hair.
âShow me first!â Suddenly, Monica appeared next to you. You almost jumped at that. Apparently, superhuman speed was her mutation.
âOkay!â Edie followed Monica to one of the houses and you watched them with terror in your eyes.
âSheâs safe. I trust Monica,â Erik assured you. âI trust everyone here. Believe me,â he insisted and you nodded your head before walking away with him to go inside his place.
You sat on the couch and looked around since you hadnât been inside much before. The place was quite messy and you spotted that there were some pictures on the wall and most of them were of Edie. On one of them it was all three of you when your daughter was a few months old. You stood up again and approached that picture to caress it gently with your fingertips through the glass of a frame.
âWe were so young, huh?â you cracked a smile.
âYou still are,â Erik stood behind you.
A long silence occurred between you two.
âWhat did you want to talk about?â you asked in a whisper after swallowing thickly.
âYou shouldnât risk your life anymore for Charles. I mean, I have never wanted you to but now we have Edie.â
âYou have never wanted me to risk my life for Charles,â you turned around to face him, âbut you have never minded me risking my life for you, Erik.â
âAll I did was to protect you and you know that,â he furrowed his brow.
âThatâs the excuse that lets you sleep at night?â you snorted at that.
â(Y/N), come on,â Erik grabbed your wrist but he wasnât squeezing it so you didnât fight him on that, âdonât pretend to be better than me. Donât play pretend to be a bigger person. We both know you are not. You joined me because you made a choice. I didnât force you to join the Brotherhood.â
âI joined you because I loved you,â you gritted your teeth and he clenched his jaw at your words, âand I hated every moment of it. Thereâs blood on my hands but it was all for love. Thatâs the excuse that lets me sleep at night.â
âI donât want you to die for Charlesâ ego, do you hear me? Edie needs a mother,â Erik changed the subject and pushed your wrist away. You knew it was a sensitive matter to him. He didnât want Edie to lose her mother like he had lost his.
âShe still has you. Youâre going to take care of her if something happens to me, right?â
âOf course I will but I didnât know you wanted me to. I thought youâd want her to stay at school if anything happens,â Erik sat down on the couch and you took a deep breath in.
âI donât. I mean, what for? So she grows up to be another XâMan? So they put her in a tight suit and make her risk her life to save humans?â you rolled your eyes. âFuck that, Erik. And you have the same mutation. Youâre every teacher sheâd ever need.â
âWhat do you mean by that?â he looked up and you bit on your lower lip nervously.
âI had an argument with Charles this morning. I know what you think but I donât want to do the missions for him anymore and itâs been like that for a long time now. I agreed to join his school, to be a teacher, to secure Edieâs future⌠But I never agreed to that, all that saving humans shit. He always sweet talks me into doing that. He tells me that he needs me. That there arenât many original XâMen around anymore⌠Me, Raven, Hank⌠And Iâm too fucking sentimental to say no to him. But itâs over now. I told him this morning Iâm not doing it anymore and he⌠He brought back the past. He told me I probably still have hatred towards humans in my heart, from the times when I was in the Brotherhood. That was too much, Erik. I split up my family for this man⌠I ruined what was between you and I to join him and thatâs how he repays me?â you sniffed your tears back and looked away. âI donât want to be there anymore. Heâs not a better life for me and my girl. I thought he would be but I was wrong.â
Erik examined your face for a while and he was visibly confused after hearing your little monologue. You quietly hoped heâd offer you a place to stay but he remained silent.
âI was thinking⌠Maybe we could move in⌠Edie and I⌠I know you miss her and she misses you, too. Not here, of course,â you looked around his house. âIâd get us our own place. I mean, my place⌠She could stay here for a while and then for a while with me. Whatever, weâd live close anyway. It wouldnât matter to her anyway. But I mean⌠When youâd want some time with Monica for yourselves, no problemâŚâ
âWhaâ Wait, wait, wait,â Erik stood up and shushed you before walking up to you. âWhat are you talking about? Some time with Monica? What?â
âI know you two are like⌠together,â you shrugged your arms, pretending that it didnât bother you.
âHave you lost your mind⌠Whoâs told you that? Edie?â
âNo,â you shook your head. âIâm observant.â
âNo, youâre not observant, (Y/N). Youâre jealous,â he laughed and you made an angry face at that. âYouâve always been. Should I remind you about Raven, EmmaâŚâ
âYou actually fucking kissed Raven,â you interrupted him.
âBecause you were giving me mixed signals.â
âThatâs no excuse!â you protested and then he shut you up with a kiss.
You gasped at first, still trying to process what had just happened. And then you gave in, you cupped his face and kissed him back so hard that your teeth clashed, like there was no tomorrow. God, you missed him.
Erikâs hands rested on your hips as he pulled you even closer. After a while, you lost your breath and had to break the kiss.
âOf course you can move in, just let me clean up a little,â he smiled with his face still only inches away from yours. You giggled at that.
âYeah, you should,â you nodded. âEdie and I are taking the bedroom. You can sleep here,â you took a step back and fixed his hair gently, âfor now,â you added. âI think we need some time. We canât just⌠Suddenly pretend that the past few years haven't happened. We lost many years,â you explained and he nodded his head.
âBut itâs nothing compared to all the years we still have ahead,â Erik raised your chin with his finger. âAnd this time, I promise, Iâll make it right.â
âYeah, I wouldnât survive you going to jail again,â you laughed and pushed him playfully.
âEkhem,â someoneâs voice made you both turn around and you saw Monica with a huge smirk on her face leaning on the doorframe. âYour kid is becoming very impatient to show you the trick,â she announced and winked at you.
âHow long have you been standing there?â Erik asked her.
âDepends on how long the kiss actually was. Iâd say⌠somewhere the middle of it but perhaps it was the ending. Didnât want to ekhem at you earlier, it felt off, you know?â
âOh for fuckâs sake. Thereâs no privacy here, is it?â you sighed.
âBetter get used to it,â Monica shrugged her arms, âand you, good luck at getting your old back used to sleeping on that shitty piece of couch,â she looked at Erik. âCome âere, Edie,â she called your daughter from the outside.
âWhat took you so long?â Edie whined after walking inside with her metal balls floating behind her like dogs taken out on a walk.
âYour parents wereâŚâ Monica started and Erik gave her a deadly look. â...talking,â she finished.
âAbout your new room,â Erik added. âWhat would you like in your new room?â
âMum, what does dad mean?â Edieâs eyes widened at you.
âWeâre moving in,â you announced nervously. âI mean⌠Only if you want to.â
âAre you kidding me?â she gasped and all the metal balls fell to the floor dramatically. âThatâs the best day ever!â she ran into her fatherâs arms happily. âDaddy, itâs my favourite day I think! Is it yours, too?â
âNo,â Erik shook his head and rubbed his nose with hers, âmy favourite day was the one when you were born.â

"the fandom ruined mha" is one of those vastly popular opinions that i've never quite understood. because they honestly...weren't as bad as people made it seem??? i swear people with zero fandom experience will see a thirteen year old in cheap cosplay having fun and say shit like "ew i hate this fandom you're ruining it" like maybe leave the goddamn kid alone??
mha has a very large fan community, and what makes it a little different than most other anime fandoms is that mha was specifically targeted for a global audience. they did their best to avoid any quirks and cliche tropes of anime that would go over non-japanese' heads. the art style is pretty cartoonish and it's got lots of references to western comics. there's a whole ass movie set in the US. what i'm trying to say is that a large, international fandom was always what they were going for, and it was well received. it was one of those shows that you'd kind of had to watch if you wanted to be in anime spaces back in like 2016-2018. mind you this is when even aot wasn't that popular. and when something is so popular, there's gonna be lot of weird people in the fandom. BECAUSE most of them will be people who have never been in fandom spaces before. the "cringy mha fans" that were the butt of every joke in anime discord were more of than not minors having just been introduced to anime or fandom culture as a whole. there were lots of weird stuff, i admit. but was it ever really that serious? like why couldn't yall just leave those people alone??
another thing people just couldn't stop talking about was how there were way too many ships in the fandom but 1) why is that a bad thing? and 2) of course there were gonna be a lot of ships in a show that introduced TWO WHOLE CLASSROOMS OF TEENAGERS AS THE MAIN CAST who interacted all the time. not to mention all the students from other hero schools, upperclassmen, pro heroes & teachers. there are like a million characters in this show and the more characters the more potential ships -it's fucking common sense. i think what really happened there was that people outside of the fandom looked at the fanmade content and thought the fandom must have been obsessed with ships. when in reality i think the fans were really chill about it. most of them were multishippers, they didnât mind the other pairings. i understand that for an outsider's eye all the ships and disclose must've looked chaotic but in fandom spaces people know how to filter the content they engage with so there really arent any serious "ship wars" going on anywhere except for maybe instagram comments.
i am not saying all the ships were unproblematic, there were some pretty weird ships going on too, but honestly i thought half of them were jokes? or at least crackships? and if you compared the number of fics those kind of pairings have on ao3 to the more family friendly ones you'd see that there really weren't an actual fanbase for any of those weird ass pairings.
i think the core of mha fandom has never been as chaotic as others thought it was. mha fans were interested in the story, the fights & the character development while casually enjoying ships as well. it wasn't that serious until yall started bullying a bunch of kids online. with the rise of tiktok and the boredom the pandemic caused there were a huge amount of amateur content. i'm not saying i've never seen a mha fan being genuinely cringe. i just think the mature response to those posts would have been leaving the poor kids alone.
yesterday i've seen a youtube video about how awful mha fans are and this guy just showed a clip of a bunch of cosplayers outside of what was probably an anime convention dancing to gangnam style and he was going on and on about how annoying they are. and it made me so angry because where the fuck did these anime fan bourgeoisie snobs come from telling people they can't have fun at FUCKING ANIME CONVENTIONS??? i dont know if you've ever been to one but an anime con is basically the only place that's supposed to be safe to do cringe shit like that. everyone goes to those things in cosplay, some better than others. but last i checked everyone was pretty nice to each other, complimenting each other's costumes, asking to take photos. the cosplays don't have to be good, they don't even have to be complete. a convention is the one place you can show up in a wig you bought off ebay and a costume you finished making the night before. i dont know what yall are on but people go to those events to have fun. not to be filmed and made fun of. and from my personal experience having been in fandom spaces since middle school, someone who dances to gangnam style in a cheap todoroki cosplay is an infinitely nicer person than the stuck-up loser who makes a video complaining about it

You guys just donât understand
You canât even begin to grasp the amount of pranks Danny could pull on super heros (is that one words? Superheros?)
Added a read more because I hate long posts
Danny as a ghost is so powerful. Like our boy can walk through walls, disappear, and fly! Do you even grasp how much more unique he is than the others guys??
Jokes aside just imagine if you will. Danny could leave batburger cups next to Batman all the time (he comes back later to toss em out of Big ol B doesnât)
Like hell we talk about Danny just showing up basically stalking the heros but ok hear me out. He didnât mean to figure out Batmans identity ok but he was in the right place at the right time and over heard some stuff. Now he follows Bruce Wayne around instead. Always spitting out if a batburger cup. Maybe Bruce makes eye contact with him and one time Danny just leans his drink out to as one does to offer a sip xD the man is horrified.
For the ?Robins? The other bats maybe he leaves gifts of sorts. Stuff they would like made from his ice or something. He can understand becoming a hero young and most (if not all) of them did that. He plays favourites with the younger Heros for sure. But hes still making them have there âGod?? Is that youâ moments like everyone else.
Hell he could follow Superman around and always make his cape flow against the wind and the Hero wouldnât know wtf is going on. Maybe Superman hears a very slight snickering maybe but the prank is harmless enough so why worry too much. I mean itâs probably bad someone can do this without getting detected till they give themselves away by laughing but nothing harmful yet. (Yet would emphasise Batman)
I donât know anything about GreenArrow but I assume he uses a bow and arrow so I could imagine Danny grabbing his arrows and making them fly in crazy wild paths before hitting their mark.
Idk honestly how he would fuck with GreenLatern besides like using his ghost powers to try and one up his ring. Like Lantern makes a shield? Danny makes a better one next to it or in front of it. Tbh itâs actually helping Danny get better at his powers so he does this a lot rip Hal (I did not know he was played by Ryan Reynolds maybe ill watch the newer movie)
He refuses to mess with Wonder Woman because the Phandom has told me she is his fav thus he refuses to prank her. He respects her too much and is a huge enough fan that hes too nervous to even approach. Thus she thinks she is this pranksters least favourite since she is never bothered.
Aqua-man (thx for the correction siri) is pretty fun to prank because Danny can follow the man underwater. Idk anything about science of it but imagine Danny like making a space he can talk in with his ice powers (making a bubble of sorts) to make spooky noises at ?Arthur? (R we seriously going with Arthur in this one?) like I assume without actual fish related powers, or with them I havent seen any thing aquaman, you canât talk underwater. But also if Danny figures out his real name hes 100% gonna be playing the Hey Arthur theme at this man all the time.
He just lowkey overshadows cyborg. Not in a controlling way but just along for the ride kinda way. He was gonna make remarks about his tech but ended up being stunned by how good it is. âFam I aint gonna lie. I came here to follow you around and make comments like a streamer but your tech is crazy cool. I mean you could have saved a little room with a more compact cooling unit but I mean this is probably some of the best stuff I have seen outside my family!â Or something idk. Maybe he goes full on antman in coldwar
As for the Flash thats pretty simple. He doesnât let the Flash run from him. I donât think Danny could keep up with the Flash at all. Like man cants have everyones powers (canât he tho) but he just hangs on and pretends to have followed. I mean hes invisible the whole time so not like anyone can see lmao though if (idk who the flash is? So ill use Barry cause thats why google say) if Barry goes too fast he might get Danny to give up the game cause boy is on the side vomiting. Barry is pretty smug about probably being the first to throw the prankster for a loop but Danny is just on the side like âhow can you go that fast and not be sick dudeâ
Like tbh I was gonna just make a list of pranks he pulls on Batman but yall seem to enjoy the Justice League so here go off I guess.
Honestly I had to charge my phone so I forget a lot of the post rip this kne
#danny phantom#dp x dc#dpxdc#why is this happening you ask?#well Amity Park got destroyed by GIW and Danny canât go back to the Zone because Vlad destroyed his whole place and moved to avoid the GIW#so Danny is doing anything to keep his mind off it#not the healthiest of mechanisms but hes like 14 or 16 so whats he know#jazz would know but shes dead (I hate killing off jazz tbh)#following around these Heros is all he has to do to keep himself distracted#plus it helps feel his protective obbsession because he can help a little here and there#I know I make the danny follows the heros around posts a lot but theres a reason for it#danny feels like such a failure so he wants to learn from them#he needs to learn from them#he has to do better he has to get better so he wont loose everything again#oop hope yall donât read my tags itâs a mess in here

Damian and Lois bonding idea:
So this is in the future when Damian and Jon are an established couple (living together but I like to think theyâre married and on a farm so Damian can have space for all his pets) and Dami, in a decision for his own mental health, had been making a gradual move towards retiring from hero work and has finally moved on to a full civilian life (as an artist? a ďżź veterinarian? full time charity work? your choice) but Jon is still supermaning as Dami wouldnât ask him to make that choice to stop with him. However that doesnât make it easy to sit by and watch the one he loves get hurt, physically and mentally, time and time again. So to learn how to cope with the pain of watching Jon do what he does without being involved in it with him, he calls up Lois. Asks her how she can stand to watch her husband and son (because of course the rest of Damianâs family is still part The Life as well, which just adds to the struggle) repeatedly get hurt and not jump in to fight with them. And she gives him advice on how she fills her time and copes with the anxiety of waiting to hear if your loved ones are ok. She tells him whenever heâs struggling and alone, waiting to hear from Jon or his family to know that theyâre back safe from a mission or patrol, to give her a call. Any time of day sheâll answer and talk with him so heâs not alone (because she knows what itâs like being in the position and not having anyone to talk to about it). Theyâll talk about anything and nothing just to occupy their minds when it gets too much because sometimes being the pillar of support for a hero can be exhausting too. Share in new hobbies theyâll pick up in their spare time and talking about how dumb whatever politician Lois had to write about is. Anyway because of this they grow really close and next joint family party, the family are all wondering why the two are so attached and making inside jokes with each other because when did that happen? Jon/Clark will come home earlier than expected after missions and find Lois/Damian cooking together or something just laughing and talking.
Just some good mother-in-law/son-in-law bonding
that's so sweet! and I love it haha. and god, just imagine, Lois is there for Damian for YEARS and walks him through this stress and turmoil and Damian is so grateful.
And one night, Lois calls him instead of the other way around. She's in tears and nervous and explains what came over the newswire didn't sound good and for once she's SCARED. And Damian's practically waited for this moment his whole life, packs a bag and heads to the farm immediately.
The worst is avoided and Clark and Jon come home to find Damian and Lois asleep on the couch, sodas and wines and tissues and movie cases and the like across the table in front of them, Lois asleep on Damian's shoulder while holding his hand. Damian's only half awake himself and smiles to the returning supers and says 'Welcome home.'
both Clark and Jon are instantly in tears, moving towards their respective spouse.
#jondami#clarklois#god lois and damian are just so good together as besties#gimme that dc1!!#asks#anon#also shippy headcanons#also superfam headcanons#damian wayne#lois lane

Do you think they should have went with the Chosen One plot for Anakin when they made the prequels? I've been rewatching the original trilogy and there is no mention of any prophecy. It seemed more like Anakin was a very powerful Jedi, but nothing grander then that.
Then, all of sudden the prequels are saying that he is the literal messiah of the Galaxy, destined to bring balance to the Force.
I mean, this isn't the blog for that, anon.
It's really not the blog for it not just in the sense that we talk about how things are here not how we want them to be but also because I think the Original Trilogy are also incredibly bad movies. They're not winning awards for being any better than the rest of the gang or any more righteous, they just have nostalgia, a few great actors carrying the weight (but only a few and not even some of the most important ones), a fantastic soundtrack (that admittedly is strikingly similar in parts to Holst's The Planets), and some great special effects and editing as of the time that George has tried to strip away with every passing year. It's no skin off my nose if the Prequels took some liberties to make things better (and... the thing about The Prequels is that they're not better, of course, but the plot is a lot more compelling than 'the Death Star blew up once' followed by a short break then 'the Death Star blew up twice')
But as for your question, it didn't strike me as too odd we didn't hear of it, because that's the whole thing: Jedi culture is wiped out to two known survivors (that we see anyway). And per those Jedi survivors, Anakin was very clearly not the chosen one as he did anything but bring balance to the Force.
So, you have Obi-Wan who doesn't want to talk about fucking any of it and lies through his teeth multiple times to Luke because he just doesn't want to talk about any of it. Then you have Yoda who wants to talk about it even less.
Neither is bringing up "did you know there was this prophecy where your father was supposed to bring balance to the Force? Boy, did he sure not do that".
Vader certainly isn't bringing it up either as, well, look at his miserable life and how much he hates himself and the Jedi. He's not bringing up their stupid prophecy that clearly wasn't true.
Remember very little is known about the Jedi for the common people, especially after Palpatine's taken over and spread propaganda and such. Han doesn't even think the Jedi are real and if he does it's "that weird space religion cult thing that died out???"
That is to say the prophecy is not common knowledge and especially not for people like Luke, Han, or even Leia for that matter for all she's a little more Jedi adjacent.
Even within the Jedi we see that people don't take the prophecy seriously. That was a Qui-Gon thing. He was super into that prophecy, yo, and the other Jedi (Yoda, Mace, Obi-Wan even) all sort of stared at him looking very upset for insisting on this.
And in the war, while Anakin was an exceptionally talented Jedi, he wasn't really used as a propaganda piece/seen as the only Jedi who would save them all.
The prophecy was just the reason Qui-Gon insists on training him despite his age and is one of those things that seems to have actually been correct for all that no one will ever admit it.
(@therealvinelle can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm going to lay down something that will make people very upset: Anakin being "The Hero with No Fear", seen as one of two great Jedi in the war who are doing so much for the cause more than anyone else, and the extra focus on this prophecy was an invention of Disney's 2008 The Clone Wars, not the films.)

I think I heard somewhere that George created Dooku and Grievous to reflect/foreshadow two aspects of Vader (gentleman politician villain and cyborg killer). What do you think of the relationship between Dooku and Grievous?
It changes a bit in canon I think, Dooku now has less a direct hand in his origin story.
Hell, Dooku changed a lot in canon. Iâm glad heâs less a human supremacist now.
Yessss, Geode, coming in with the fun ask!!!! :DÂ
Iâve read arguments that Maul fits into this as well to complete the whole âthe prequel villains all represent pieces of Vader.â Almost as avatars for RotS Anakinâs past, present, and future. Maul is the angry enslaved boy, Dooku is the fallen Jedi/former hero who betrays everyone he loves, Grievous is the coldblooded cyborg killer who lives only to destroy.Â
I sure am grateful that we lost the tacked-on space racism (spacism) for Dooku, but Iâve felt that current canon does miss some of the prior rich characterization we got for Sith-era Dooku, as opposed to how much theyâve explored Jedi Dooku. And of course, that Jedi-era stuff is invaluable to me because I write mainly in that era (and I too-well remember a time in fandom when writing Dooku as having once been a good Jedi was considered outright OOC - whew, you should see some of the hate comments I got!) but I miss the Sithly depth. The Clones Wars 2008 in particular drives me crazy (affectionate) because itâs so fucking good, thereâs so much beautiful subtext and tension to some of Dookuâs plotlines: untold stories and fascinating opportunities. I think a richer version of Dooku as a character was fully present in the TCW writerâs minds, it just got deprioritized to tell other characterâs stories, so you just see the tantalizing shadow of it lingering in small details.Â
Grievous is interesting as heâs almost a physical manifestation of what the war is intended to do to the Jedi Order. Heâs a literal Jedi blender. A machine intended to break both their physical bodies as well as weaponize and pervert the ideals held sacred to the Jedi, that of life and choice and light and even lightsabers, these ceremonial objects with huge cultural significance to the Jedi which they spend their whole life training with. And yet, Grievous, without any holy connection to the Force, can pick up Lightsabers for Dummies ghostwritten by CD, spin his arms, and win. And win, and win, and win.Â
And I think itâs interesting how Dookuâs participation in his training or origins gives the perception that Dooku understood this and did it deliberately. It really speaks to how far Dookuâs own soul has fallen, particularly since lightsabers and Makashi seem to be one part of his Jedi life that Dooku genuinely still values and finds sacred. In that way, like so much else, Grievous seems almost designed to be an act of psychic self harm for Dooku. (And thatâs before you get into Legends and Dooku giving Grievous literally Sifo-Dyasâs blood and lightsaber.)Â
Thereâs a tremendous scene in the EU book Labyrinth of Evil where Dooku shows Grievous a recording of Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting well together and just⌠gushes over it, genuinely happy and interested with their lightsaber development and expecting Grievous to take a lesson from this, while Grievous is like just sooo bored and wishing the Count would get to his point so he can leave. His own monster doesnât want to talk to him about his dumb hobbies. It really epitomizes the way Dooku had built himself this cage for his own loneliness, constructed out of everything he used to love.Â
Bonus Round
Narratively, in current canon, Iâm glad we swapped in âDooku gives Sifo-Dyas a Jedi funeralâ instead of the EU version: âDooku keeps Sifoâs corpse in a snow white style coffin in his basement to monologue most divorcedly at and then later stick all his blood in Grievous.âÂ
But Warren Fu being so proud of his design being chosen as the movie version for Grievous that he snuck his own face on Sifo-Dyasâs first visual appearance in that comic and made him Grievousâs blood donor is so fucking funny. I follow him on other platform and his birthday message to George Lucas this year was just a little clip heâd made of himself and George in front of his beautiful Grievous concept art. He's so proud still, almost 25 years later.
#I want to say right off this analysis is seriously missing some consideration of Grievous as his own character and his narrative arc#but your ask seemed to be more about him as a meta element and his relationship to Dooku as a character foil#general grievous#count dooku#sifo dyas#star wars meta#star wars legends#the clone wars#star wars prequels

So I already talked about how the plot of Legend (1985) seems it could fit in a parallel with Will, Mike and Vecna in a previous post but I'm finally watching the movie and I'm finding these things interesting:
SPOILERS
So Lily is a princess with a pure heart and she's in love with her friend Jack, one day she commits a sin when she's with Jack but against his recommendations, by touching a sacred creature (the unicorn)... If the two unicorns die this brings perpetual darkness to the world and the villain needs that...
She didn't do this intentionally but basically after this happens the goblins sent by the villain kill one of the unicorns and take the horn, this transforms the earth from a beautiful summer to a frozen land full of snow where even time seems to stop (Upside Down much)
Jack thinks she's dead for a bit but then meets other creatures of the forest that reveal he must be sort of the hero and save the unicorn so he goes on a journey to take the weapons
At the same time, while Jack was taking the weapons, Lily wants to remedy her mistake so she goes to seek the other unicorn to protect her when she learns that the goblins want to kill her too, but she gets captured by the goblins and brought to the villain that looks very Vecna like in how he presents himself, there is one of the main scenes where he comes out of this giant mirror and the first thing that appears is his hand
Also the villain is fascinated by lady Lily (Will) because she is pure and he talks to some evil spirits that tell him to corrupt her before and make her one of them ( do I have to explain??? )
So he makes her see some illusions and dresses her up as an evil version of herself, Lily tries to resist him while he gives her jewelry and stuff to corrupt her
(very Vecna)
Meanwhile Jack found out she's still alive so he goes where the villain brought her with other characters that help him and he makes up a plan to use the shining things in the house and make the light of the sun come inside the place because the light kills the villain
The villain and Lily start to talk, and he offers her to spend eternity with him and says stuff like
"I was content with solitude, until that moment I felt your vivid presence."
Imagine if Will has powers and Vecna felt it and took him because of that!
He also says to her that he values her thoughts and he's trying to manipulate her and make her join him!
She pretends she's accepting him and she asks him one wish, that she'll be the one to kill the last unicorn (what if Max is the unicorn, or Holly! Or El ? )
He accepts... But remember she's tricking him đ¤ he even says this shit to her about ''creating a new world'' like Vecna wants to make a new world
at this point, Jack is watching her almost kill he unicorn and other characters think she really joined Vecna so they want him to kill Lily
but you know, true love and all that....
Lily frees the unicorn and makes her run away! The villain, that's called Darkness, hits her and Jack goes to attack him... they fight while the other characters try to make the light go inside to kill the Darkness... Jack takes the unicorn horn and stabs him with it while the light comes inside and almost finishes him, Darkness is holding onto the walls before a void of space and Jack cuts his hand making him fall in the void!!!!
At the end of the film Lily is under a sleeping spell and Jack has learned confidence in himself and has to find a way to wake her up now (Mike's confidence journey eheh)
he has to keep a promise he made to her to save her so he goes to do that, he has to retrieve a ring in a lake.... he does that, brings it to her and then the true love kiss wakes her up! They kiss!! Super cute!! Happy ending and obv the unicorn comes back to life and all is good!
some final moments:
I love you, Lily. Come back to me. Come back to me.
I⌠love you, Jack.
I love you, Lily.
I had such a terrible nightmare.
Did you? It's over.
Jack, was it all a dream?
You're safe now.
So many terrible things happened. I⌠I learned something about myself⌠and something about you.
What's that?
You belong here. You're my prince.
I'm only Jack.
My Lord Jack.
My son was right, this was a good movie!!!

Marinette sat on the couch in her house while Luka was busy in the kitchen preparing popcorn. They hadn't felt like their usual creative sessions that day, so a simple movie would have to do.
Though they did go back and forth for a while on who should be in charge of preparing popcorn, Marinette chuckling recalling their "argument." "But you're the guest!" "And you're letting me in your space." "Guests aren't supposed to be doing anything." "Not in my house. We let guests do what they want, and I want to make the popcorn for you."
She finally relented to him and let him do as he pleased, satisfying popping noises going off behind her like they were the fireworks of his victory.
Granted, it wasn't like there wasn't anything in it for her. There was an akuma that day and she hadn't eaten much as a result, so she spent the time he was preparing eating a handful of nuts.
Not that she really even liked nuts. They were okay - not good, not bad - but her options had gone down ever since she got her miraculous. Chips had gone off the table a long time ago even though she enjoyed them as most did.
"Ugh," she voiced the frustration aloud, "being Ladybug is the worst."
Beyond the popping sound of the popcorn, every other noise stopped; Luka must've heard her.
He raised his voice to be heard over the popping, asking, "Does it have anything to do with what you've been eating?"
She snorted in amusement. Of course he'd notice that my diet changed.
While she'd only known Luka after having become Ladybug, she tried to hide her dieting habits from other people. Luka knowing her secret identity meant that she didn't feel the need to hide it from him anymore, even subconsciously and she just hadn't remembered that she hadn't told him about the dieting aspects until now.
Turning her head to direct her voice towards him more, she confirmed, "Yeah. I used to be able to skip a meal or two if I was in a hurry, but Ladybug can't. There are more akuma now that Hawk Moth is Shadow Moth too."
Luka tapped the counter as he mulled that over, deducing, "So being a hero burns through your energy."
"Exactly, but I can't just eat more food either."
"Because people will notice if you're playing off notes," he finished.
"Yeah. I just need to eat more... nutritiously, I guess." She raised one of the nuts to show him. "Like these; protein and healthy fat."
"Mm," Luka hummed in thought. She could imagine him nodding even if she couldn't see it.
Things went silent from there beyond the occasional sounds from the kitchen and the crunch of Marinette biting into a walnut. She'd already picked out a movie she thought they'd both enjoy, so she could just kick back and wait for Luka.
Eventually, he arrived with two separate bowls of popcorn and set them on the table, though he paused rather than pulling back to join her on the couch. She blinked, curious at the contemplative expression on his face.
"...I can cook," he said suddenly.
"Huh?" She tilted her head, puzzled by the statement. "Oh, IâI know? That's... I always thought it was great that youâ"
He hunched over as he choked out a laugh, muffling it with a hand and waving his other hand to reassure her. "Sorry. I..." He straightened, running a hand through his hair before clarifying, "I was asking if I could help."
"...H-huh?" she repeated, somehow more confused than when he told her something she already knew.
He sat down next to her, looking wholly serious. "I'd have to practice and find some recipes, but I could make the kind of food you need." Her averted his gaze, looking up and to his right like he was still thinking it over. "I'll eat too, so you don't have to feel bad about it. It'll give me an excuse to eat well"
Marinette didn't even know what to say; she could only gape at him. Luka had - of course - always been wholly understanding of her role as Ladybug. If anything, he was too understanding, willing to make excuses for her absences without hesitation and always ready to pick up right back where they left off if their one-on-one time was interrupted. She liked to think she knew how to read him by now and he genuinely seemed unbothered by it. She still didn't fully comprehend how he did it all like it was nothing simply because he liked her and they were friends.
Well, she was pretty sure they were friends, anyway: friends who spent a lot of one-on-one time together, friends who shared their deepest secrets with each other, and now potentially friends who ate food together that one of them prepared.
...I have to ask, she thought reluctantly.
"Do youâ" She took a breath, then tipped her head back and tossed the remaining nuts in her mouth, chewing and swallowing as if they'd give her courage. Making sure to look him in the eyes, she tried again, "Do you mean... like a date?"
The slight blush that appeared on his face gave her a rough answer. He must've only been thinking about her and making sure she knew that he was getting something out of it by eating the food he'd make for both of them. The romantic implications hadn't even entered his mind.
Still, she waited for him to respond properly, wanting to see what he said.
He shifted in place, looking from her, to the popcorn, to the movie, and finally back at her. When he opened his mouth again, it felt like an eternity until the words actually came out.
"No, butâ" He offered a gentle smile her way. "If that's what you want, then..."
He'd trailed off, but she got the message. She just hoped the spontaneous giggle that came out of her didn't sound too giddy.
"W-we could give it a try?" she offered, twirling a strand of her hair and hoping that the coyness might come across. It would've been easy to confess outright, but after all of the relationship failures she'd gone through, it was appealing to try something a little slower even if her endgame goal remained the same.
Luka agreed, his smile widening as he nodded. With that, it was officially agreed upon that it would be a date. Many dates, in fact, if his promise was accurate and he'd start cooking for her regularly.
The only shame, Marinette thought, was that it'd be hard to focus on the movie when she was already imagining her future dinner plans with him.
