the roomies!!! i originally designed this ososan oc trio in full about a year ago to write on an rp blog. it's not really active rn, but i still want to talk and post about 'em, so here they are! just basic rundowns, but i'd be curious to hear which one (if any) is your fav of the three (feel free to leave it in the tags?? if u want!)

anzu:

i wanted to use orange as a character colour bc it's one that wasn't already used in the matsu rainbow, and i had a concept of a gyaru character named anzu kicking around in my head for a long time as well, so here we are. miwa from the mixer ep inspired the eyeshadow (orange rather than miwa's blue obv, to keep with her colour theme) and delinquent totoko's design inspired her ombre dyejob! i went with a blonde-to-orange look as a nod to anzu's namesake fruit (apricot).

the strands framing her face are split into 3 sections at the end (2/3 are grouped together and 1/3 flips in the other direction) which is a little nod to her being one of 3 siblings (eldest), as well as the "三" character used in her surname (mikado) meaning 3. the rest of her hairstyle is just because i thought it looked cute, though.

ososan's style is more simplified, but i wanted to convey makeup that was a little bold, but cute (long false lashes, eyeshadow, & and a soft pink or nude glossy lip). clothing-wise, she mixes and matches a few different substyles (agejo and onee are prominent, with some ane, tsuyome, and general old school gal influences as well?), with a particular fondness for animal prints, esp. tiger print. (that said, orange tiger print doesn't seem all that common in gyaru clothes, so in-universe i like to think that the top pictured above was originally a black-and-white zebra(?) stripe print she thrifted and dyed at home--close enough!)

her nails day to day are usually medium length since she has a lot of hobbies that involve her hands and anything longer makes those things a bit more cumbersome. sometimes they're decoden/bedazzled, sometimes they're just painted a cute colour/pattern, depends on the day! and i think she opts for press-ons over extensions for longer nails, since it's cheaper.

ran:

i'm just a bitch who loves purple, that's the reason for this one. i think the hime cut with shorter bangs is nice because you can showcase the eyebrows (i think eyebrows can really elevate a character design so i gave all 3 their own brow shape) without worrying about the lines for the eyebrows and bangs intersecting in an annoying way when you draw it. i like shorter, slightly sharp eyebrows like these because they're easy to draw, lol. i think they're usually furrowed like she's displeased with something, but that may just be her resting face. i also thought this blunter, sharper-looking cut (bold, standoffish) was a fun contrast to anzu's flippy half-updo (bright, bouncy) and yuzu's short, wavy hair (languid, relaxed).

5 piercings on each ear (2 spiked helix & 3 lobe) = 5 siblings including ran (4 older brothers). the other reason for this number of piercings was that her namesake flower (orchid) had--i thought--5 petals, but as it turns out i'm a fool, it's actually 3 petals (including the lip) and 3 sepals??? ah, well.

clothing-wise, influences from various punk/vkei styles alongside some rokku gyaru. (maybe anzu introduced her to this one?) this brash style is the total inverse of how she was expected to dress growing up. (when she and anzu first met, she was an OL with no piercings, undyed hair, and positively miserable, but that was a number of years ago now.) i'm really not reinventing the wheel with "small and angry", but y'know, we have fun here.

yuzu:

is teal distinct enough from blue to count as its own colour? i think so. for yuzu, i really loved the concept of a deadpan-looking character who is very much not the straightman, who in fact wants very badly to be the funnyman 99% of the time. that kind of straight-faced but silly comedic character is always really fun to me.

half-lidded/heavy-lidded eyes paired with thick brows are always a winner to me fsr, and i wanted to give her a more "handsome" looking face with a bit more of a defined jaw than you typically see on women in ososan. as a treat. i wanted her to look a bit like a mysterious prettyboy, but she's not actually mysterious, she's just a space cadet. (and very straightforward about her thoughts and feelings, saying them with little fuss or thought.) expectation vs reality, people deciding what you're like based on their own perception vs what you're actually like, etc. etc.

i don't have anything deep to say about her hairstyle, but maybe that's how yuzu would like it, what you see is what you get. (again, eyebrows vs hair... let that eyebrow scar that i gave her for no reason shine.) as for clothing, she prefers things that are easy to move around in, so her style is the most "matsuno"-like (t-shirts, hoodies, basketball shorts, sweats, etc.). in particular, she likes shirts with phrases, usually in english, that are funny or almost make sense but not quite ("for background visual gags" and "for the english speakers in the audience").

Ok ok so I feel like everyone (including myself) forgets that Buck running fic and healing fic are 2 separate fics so I'm gonna do a description of both and also give you a snippet from each too under the cut :)

Buck running fic: Set post-season 4. Eddie has recovered from the shooting but Buck's still struggling with his own trauma of literally everything he has faced and he gets nightmares so instead he starts just running at night and trying not to burden anyone with his struggles. Eventual Buddie.

Healing fic: Set season 5 when everyone was leaving and Buck is really struggling and reverts to Buck 1.0 habits but also much worse coping strategies. Buck is really depressed and struggling and eventually asks Bobby for help. This one is much sadder and has some warnings. Also eventual Buddie and healing as a firefam.

“I’m just trying to understand.”

“What do you want me to say? That Eddie found me on the floor crying over nothing and then I had a panic attack because I thought he was dying again and then he patched me up and held my until I calmed down and he told me to see you because I haven’t slept in months because every time I close my eyes he’s dying or I’m being crushed, or I’m searching for his son who I fucking lost?” It all comes out and Buck’s crying again, and he’s getting really sick of this whole damn crying buisness.

Doctor Copeland keeps a straight face through it all. “Eddie’s dying?”

“You know what happened, everyone knows what happened, it was all over the news.”

“I want to hear you say it.”

“Eddie got shot. Eddie got shot and— I was right there.”

“And what? You wish it were you instead?”

“No— yes, maybe, I don’t know.” Buck takes a deep breath. “Eddie said I’m not expendable, and I’m trying— I swear I’m trying to believe it.”

“He gave me his son.”

“Hm?”

“In his will, he said that if he— if he dies, that I would get Chris, that he wants me to have him, even though, even though I lost him.”

Healing fic snippet:

He’s making out with another girl in his apartment and it feels good and he’s drunk and maybe he’s high? 

And the next thing he knows Eddie is unlocking his door and walking in with some sort of rage written on his face and he doesn’t see him come in, he’s too busy pushing this girl against a wall and taking off his shirt and Eddie coughs and the girl looks up, eyes wide, and she grabs her things and just scurries out looking scared and Bucks yelling “Hey, wait—” and he’s looking at Eddie like what the fuck man? But Eddie still has that look like he could tear his limbs off without blinking.

“What?” Buck says, pissed.

“You blew Christopher off for this? To fuck some woman you just met?”

And Buck freezes. 

“What day is it?” He asks.

“It’s Friday, you promised Chris you’d come over and watch a movie, it’s been ages and you promised. I had to hold him whilst he looked at me with these sad little eyes and asked if he’d done something to make you mad because he thought you were avoiding him.”

“Fuck,” Buck whispered.

“And I called you several times and you didn’t pick up and I actually— fuck, I was actually worried that something had happened to you and I get here and you’re just fucking some stranger and what, are you drunk or something? Jesus Christ, Buck.”

“I’m sorry, I— I didn’t realise that was today I just, I’ve been busy and I forgot.” He didn’t forget about Christopher, it’s just, every day has been blurring together and he’s losing track of time and he could have sworn it was Wednesday today, and what has he done?

“God Buck, I can’t believe you’d do this. To me. To Christopher. What were you thinking?”

“I wasn’t. I’m sorry.” I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I don’t know what happened but my head hurts and it’s all too much and I’m struggling don’t you see? I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.

“I’ll make it up to him, I’ll—”

“No. Buck, you’re just, you’re just so, so—”

“Exhausting,” Buck filled in, his eyes watering. 

“Buck–”

“I get it, I’m sorry, I should’ve paid more attention to the date. I think you should leave now.” It’s just every time I look at you all I see is you bleeding out in front of me and I can’t do anything to save you. And it’s all too much. I just want to forget.

“What?” 

“I'm sorry, I am, but I need you to leave.” Please leave, I can’t let you see me break.

“What, so you can bring that girl back and finish what you started? Whatever man, fine,” Eddie huffed, slamming the door on the way out.

If Eddie had been thinking of anyone other than Christopher maybe he would have heard the glass shattering when Buck threw it at the floor. Maybe he would have heard Buck’s cries as he slumped himself on the floor, cutting himself on the shards. Maybe he would have seen how broken Buck was if he wasn’t so angry.

best rainbow high dolls no competition !!! they are just so pretty !!! I've been trying to find them since they got leaked !!! they look amazing together and separate !!! and look at those outfits AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

here is Luna first because i have SO MUCH to say about sunny !!! I like luna ALOT MORE irl then i did when i first saw the leaks !!! i think her outfit is kinda basic next to sunny but by herself it looks good !!! got a huge fan of her purse but i think it works with the angular shoes :D her face is a work of art !!! the face-up looks great !! i love her purple eyes with the purple-pink blush !!! i keep walking over to her and just staring at her !!! her box hair was moderately bad not the worst ive seen but def not good hair lol !!! both of their hair is very poor quality so it was kinda a pain to fix but i only had to detangle, wash and re-curl so it wasn't a huge project it probably only took me an hour <33 OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT HER NAILS ARE SO COOL !!! we need more dolls with long nails !!!! she looks like a bad bitch !!!

here is Sunny !!!!! she was the doll that i REALLY wanted all summer so I'm so excited to have her !!!! i love all her colorful clothes !!! and the quality on the clothes is pretty good !!! i love her little heeled crocs and the leg warmers really finish the look !!! the little fuzzy teddy purse looks very cute (i want one so bad) !!! her face is also so so so pretty !!! the coral blush looks so pretty on her skintone and the little sprinkle of glitter on her eyeshadow is so cute and makes the yellow in her eyes pop !!! the only thing i would change about her face would be to give her a warmer tone lipstick!!! the cool tone pink kinda washes her out !!! now ur probably saying "aydan thats not the hairstyle she comes with ???"

...................... *takes deep breathe* girl my sunny came like this ... i couldn't leave her like that and let me just tell u that was the worst decision to date it took me 5 hours to do her hair ... including washing her hair 3 times, detangling her hair endless times, crying, curling like 4 times and trying to restyle her hair without it getting tangled again D: she was giving me SUCH A HARD TIME LIKE TF DID I DO TO U BITCH anyways like i said her hair is super poor quailty so she lost about a handful of her hair in the process and it wouldn't stop tangling i was no joke sobbing while doing her hair but at least she turned out good !!! my sunnys leg is also broken so she doesn't bend it properly which i just expect more for a 60 dollar two pack !!! i've seen other people restyle sunny's hair and not have a problem so maybe mine was just fucked up or i'm just horrible at doing hair who knows lol

Nine albums! Thank you, @dodger-chan, for tagging me :) I’m not entirely sure of the rules but here’s nine albums that I love.

1. This is my favourite album of all time, Panic! has been my favourite band since I was 11 and I think this is their best album. Fun fact: a lot of the songs and song titles on this album are inspired by the books of Chuck Palahniuk (Camisado is inspired by Fight Club, etc.), and he “loves the Panic! songs”. I have a source for that but for some reason it won’t work? It’s on livejournal just search “Chuck Palahniuk Panic at the Disco”. My favourite song on the album is Build God, Then We’ll Talk, but I love all of them, even the Intermission was actually on my top songs of the month in October lol.

2. This is my second favourite album but I only found it last year. I’m not sure what it is about it that speaks to me. I don’t really like their other albums either, except sort of Clarity. My favourite song is Get It Faster.

3. This is my favourite FOB album, it’s probably the album I listened to the most this year, I just left it on loop. My favourite song is Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner, solely for this lyric: “nothing comes as easy as you, can I lay in your bed all day?” FOB lyrics are a fic title goldmine in general.

4. In terms of Panic! albums, Vices & Virtues would win out over Pretty. Odd. if the bonus tracks were on it, but that’s all of the bonus tracks including Bittersweet (which is one of my favourite songs ever) which isn’t even on the Japanese edition so. Anyway P.O. has Northern Downpour, which is another one of my favourites.

5. This is my favourite DeBo album, even though I think Open Mouth, Open Heart is better structured and more cohesive. My favourite song is either Vixen or Nerve.

6. Every song on this album is amazing but Vienna is my favourite.

7. Heathers is my favourite movie and my favourite musical, the movie is much better than the musical but I love them both. I saw it this year and it was literally a religious experience. My favourite song is I Say No, which is not on this recording, but I like this one on the whole better than the West End Recording.

8. Little Shop is maybe my second favourite musical? Tied with Rocky Horror, maybe. I also saw it this year, but the performance was terrible lol. My favourite song is Mushnik and Son, followed by The Meek Shall Inherit. I can’t sing but I can act (read: I did gcse drama lmao), and I would love to play Seymour.

9. @oh-jesus-in-the-air introduced me to Falsettos but I didn’t really take to it until years later which is a story we both know pretty well by now lol. My favourites are A Tight-Knit Family / Love Is Blind and I’m Breaking Down. If you haven’t listened to it, @dodger-chan, I think you’d like it.

William James Moriarty felted figure this time (In his teacher chapter outfit more or less because I wanted more colors and details).

My first character stand up human figure and as I edited photos I did realize William is my first no-game but manga/anime figure. He’s about 30 cm high.

I’ve fall deep into Moriarty the Patriot story. My last two posts here were start of it and this one is follow up. Of course I’m planning to do another Moriarty characters next. Sherlock is next in line and I have head for him prepared already (thought I need to make another one first before I start to add details to current one, in order to keep heads the same size). I’ve spend some time yesterday on checking manga and anime and thinking what pose I want to do for Sherly. When I finish our Great Detective then for sure I wanna do Albert next. But I messed up while buying more wool for felting that I didn’t notice I have so little of brown for his hair (a lot of my brown wool went into William). And after Albert I will go with Louis because I want brothers to be together.

This William will be now kinda my pattern for next ones, it took me a moment to figure out what proportions I want for legs and hands for those standing up figures, so maybe Sherlock will let me felt him faster? Nah, empty dreams of mine, I bet his messy hair will gave me headache to figure out into 3d.

And as for William and now next stand up figures I went for old-Disney like 4 fingers hands because 5 finger ones sounds too difficult still for me. Well since I started with characters chibi figures that didn’t have hands, I call this a progress XD. And those William hands were still kinds hard to felt. I don’t think I stab myself with needle doing making Melia, with William was like this too until I got to second hand and stab myself like four times while doing it.

Depending how fast Sherly will come out and If I will need break from character felting I might do something small between him and Albert.

As for other things. I returned lately into making AMVs and I was going to make another one, I have like whole playlist of songs that fits Moriarty the Patriot and I see good amvs to them, but I hit a problem. I wanna mix manga with anime in those amvs like I did with Albert’s amv. But I know what kind of stories we might get in Remains manga and now, for William amv it would be great to include “the girl who sees rainbows”, because there was a lot cool William there and there is chance manga will show it nicely too if that chapter will make it, but I think it will. And this chapter plus “forbidden games” might give more material for another amv, this time with sherliam theme and I want really do at least one or two amvs with whole Moriarty group and knowing Novels “the conspiratorial bullet” might give some nice pannels with Louis, Albert, Bond, Fred and Jack, “Eternal Children” chapter too. So with knowing what might come in manga now I’m stuck, because update later amv is not the option for me. I feel like for 100% we won’t get any more anime (I’m very annoyed at Baskerville not being animated because of many reasons), and I wanna show MTP in my amvs as whole story, mostly what was skipped from manga. So for now I’m waiting what chapters we might get, I’m editing in my free time panels from volumes 1-19 I might use in those amvs. So soon or later next amv will come, I just don’t know how soon. I might go with one amv anime-only, I have some songs for that theme but none of them is like 100% “that’s it!” feeling like I had with Albert’s amv.

I went to eras tour last night and I just wanted to give you a full and complete rundown of my experience beyond it completely changed my life and I will never be the same. So:

I honestly had the best experience with getting food - we went to subway and the whole experience only took about 5 minutes. We did eat early (around 4:15pm) though so that might be the key

Getting merch was also quite painless. I’m telling you don’t stand in the lines outside the stadium to get merch, everyone will have been doing the before the doors open. We went in around 5pm (half an hour after doors opened) and got straight in the merch line and we were only waiting for around 20-30mins

I am so sad that I didn’t get to see Sabrina perform her set (but we’ll get back to that later)

It was so funny when Travis came into the stadium cause everyone started screaming. And the video of them afterwards is so cute.

It almost didn’t feel real until I actually saw her (with the weather being the way it was I had real fears of it being cancelled)

‘It’s you and me, that’s my whole world’ - she really did something with that

The way all the bracelets lit up in a rainbow for you need to calm down made my heart soar

Fearless (the song) was absolutely something else and was one of my favourite moments of the night

Her playing the well known songs (love story, ybwm, 22, wanegbt, ikywt, and pretty much all of 1989) was absolutely phenomenal and I know red’s set has been quite contentious in particular but that era was honestly one of my favourites (everyone gets so into them and it’s such a communal experience that the evermore and folklore eras don’t have (and those are two of my favourite albums)

Talking of evermore, for some reason I feel like my knowledge of the set list failed me cause I did not realise that she opened with Tis the damn season (I didn’t really watch any livestreams before hand or the movie cause I wanted to experience it first hand first but I still knew what she sand and some semblance of the order she sang the songs in but for some reason that surprised - the best way possible)

Champagne problems and tolerate are still everything to me. I’m just sad cause I could see her playing champagne problem cause the piano was set up behind one of the light towers that was in my line of sight

I don’t have much to comment on for reputation but I loved it so much

She wore the blue dress for speak now era and I cannot even begin to explain how much that meant to me. Also singing long live with Taylor and a crowd of 86,000 is an experience I will never forget

Back to red era and a little more detail on why I adored it so much - 22 was literally the funnest song of the night (maybe only rivalled by shake it off) and when she gave the hat to the little girl, that I believe had cancer, I literally cried; but then wanegbt was playing and I was like I can’t cry during this; the ‘yeah nah’ in the bridge is iconic; ikywt popped off; and of course we have the woman the myth the moment, a10w and it was everything

I absolute loved folklore but I think by the time it came around people were exhausted. It was the era that a lot of people were sitting down (including me for the one and Betty because it was a lot). August was incredible and her playing the bridge of illicit affairs is everything to me

It was really quite genius of her to put 1988 at the end to pump people back up and I also felt as if it went really quickly cause everyone is anticipating the surprise songs

And now to talk about those surprise songs and the freaking announcement (which there were like no signs for mind you and I think I nearly had a heart attack). I was at this point in time trying to FaceTime my sister and mum so they could see the surprise songs and the connection was so shitty by the way. How you get the girl was chill - not really one of my favourite songs but anything taylor plays is incredible so I had fun. But anyway she moves on to the piano and she starts talking about ttpd which I was like okay, cool (I didn’t really think much of it even then until she started talking about what happens at the Paino - show and tell). And at first I was like surely she’s not going to announce something. And then I was like what if she plays a song from ttpd. These are the absolute manic thoughts running through my head. And then she announced it. And I’m sorry but ‘the albatross’. My mind immediately when to the poem the rime of the ancient mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge cause throughout high school in English I literally used the metaphor of the albatross around the neck in so many of my pieces of writing. Anyway so at this point I am currently dying and then she brings out Sabrina (which I kind of thought would happen since she didn’t get to perform and I was so so grateful for cause I love her dearly). And they talked about kangaroos which was hilarious (I guess they would be kinda weird to people who haven’t seen them before). Anyway so they sing white horse which incredible amazing duet that I will never forget and then THEN they sing the fucking bridge of Coney Island and I think I passed out. I’m like shouting to the friends that I went with that she’s playing Coney Island and I can see my mum and my sister on my phone absolutely laughing their heads off at my freak out. Honestly that was everything to me. I am so sorry to anyone who didn’t get to experience a Taylor swift mashup surprise song cause it is something else entirely.

I think I was honestly still in shock for all of the midnights set but honestly I was one of the greatest nights of my life.

Star Wars Costuming Groups - The Elephant in the Room

I've been on a bit of a journey around Star Wars costuming groups, and there seems to be a major issue with the entire thing, that all groups to some degree have in common. It's the elephant in the room, the subject people really don't want to talk about.

It stems from poor representation in Star Wars. The original trilogy was made in the late 70s and in the 80s. Back then, representation was poor. Unfortunately it means that you won't find a diverse range of people dressing up as these characters. I would say this is the main reason for the lack of diversity in Star Wars costuming groups.

Now, for costuming groups that get together for fun, this shouldn't be a problem or an obstacle at all. Cosplay is for everyone no matter what level or accuracy, and it doesn't matter if you have the same hair or skin colour as the character. What's important is that it is fun for the person that is cosplaying, that they feel safe, and that everyone feels welcome. In my experience, the fun groups do tend to be the most welcoming. However, I would say there is somewhat a lack of diversity in these groups. Again, I would say it is because of the lack of diversity in the films. This is however changing, and hopefully there is more representation now.

With certain costuming groups, that actually do require screen accurate costumes, interestingly (though perhaps not surprisingly), there have been huge problems with diversity. I must stress that not all cosplay groups are the same, and some groups might be free of politics. The group I'm talking about, is the one in the UK. I think it was 4 or 5 years ago, there was a lot of controversy. There were people calling a number of things, including racism, transphobia and elitism. The trouble with screen accurate costumes is that they either require a lot of free time and skill or a lot of money. It can cost thousands. Already that is a massive barrier to people from a less advantaged background. This has resulted in elitism. My friend was sneered at because his costume wasn't accurate. Getting exact replicas and high quality costumes costs. You can tell how much people pay, once you see the suppliers they used. It certainly limits who can dress up as what because it might be way over budget. This is an expensive hobby.

The other way screen accuracy presents barriers is that it might not be possible to look exactly like the character you want to dress as. A man can't dress as a female and a female can't dress up as a male. Also, if you don't look like the character - size, height, different skin colour etc, you can't dress as them. There are plenty of masked characters, but is that representation? It's still very difficult to get into that because it means spending a lot on armour etc. If you're disabled, then there are barriers both mental and physical. There are no stormtroopers in wheelchairs on screen. So it's not the carefree, super-welcoming, equal opportunity group they claim to be.

I naivly thought maybe they changed since they changed leadership. They've been posting about zero tolerance to racism, and celebrating pride, as well as supporting female members. I think they're pink washing really. I see no positive stories about members in the LGBTQ+ community, just a rainbow flag on their social media. Sorry, but that's not enough. And when I talk to people, they still say this group is full of bullies.

Recently, I've come across a member that is allowed to attend events, and goes to hospitals, but all the while has extremist right wing views and seriously believes Britain is being taken over. It makes me sick to think that when he goes to these hospitals where there are sick children, that he is ignoring or looking down at those in ethnic minority groups. He's very careful to keep his views private. He has openly admitted he only posts his views on Twitter (under a username) and not on FB because he doesn't wish to go 'nuclear' meaning he even knows his opinions are dodgy. As he keeps his views confined to his private life (although you could easily affiliate him) the costuming groups he's in turns a blind eye. It's disgusting quite frankly.

I won't name and shame and I haven't bothered to report him, even though he was incredibly rude to me after I called him out on his racist comments. I was tempted to report him, but I realised that this would probably be a waste of time. I did take screenshots but I think the problem is with the costuming groups themselves. Any criticism and they'll just close ranks. Even though they claim to have a safeguarding officer, I see no evidence of vetting practices when accepting members either, which makes me believe they don't care. So, instead of going to the trouble of writing a complaint, I've decided not to go any further with these costuming groups.

There is at least one other costuming group at the comic cons I go to, and he's in those groups too. The people in those groups are definitely aware they have this guy, and are aware of his views, but again turn a blind eye because that's his "private business".

We even have mutual friends. I really don't understand how they can just ignore him and the vile crap he comes out with. All the while this bigot gets away with hate speech, going unchallenged and even rewarded for his "raising spirits" in the name of charity. I feel like he's using a charitable cause to somehow justify that he's not a bad person.

I could call out the groups I've mentioned, and the member, but I've decided not to, at least until I can find a way to go about this. All I can do at cons is ignore the guy. I'm open to any advice though.

Breakfast pretty much went the same as the dinner the night before. No one said much, just asked how they all slept and how they were coping with this entrapment that they’re all caught up in. The only thing that seemed to brighten up the morning was Rainbow who went back and forth between everyone. After finishing and washing up, they all decided to get to work. They all searched where they could go. Shops were open, including a supermarket (which was where Candi had found the dog food it seemed). The shops were filled with stock, especially souvenirs. However, none of the souvenir stock was branded so there wasn’t anyway to identify what this place was. Employee only doors were all open, showing the storage areas and props for various things. Pip was looking around the stage. Sprout and Candi checked their rooms properly with a fresh pair of eyes. Bud was checking the kitchens. Dude was drifting between the different no public access areas with Rainbow following him. Mimi checked the different shops, resisting the urge to look at all of the merchandise. However, not much was offered in terms of clues. It was literally one step forward and two steps back.

Everyone felt defeated when they met up again. Nothing was playing out in their favours.

“Dude, do you have your phone on you?” Bud suddenly asked, taking his phone out of his pocket. Everyone had met back near the stage again. They didn’t know where else they could’ve explored for now.

“Yeah.” Dude answered after checking his pockets. He honestly hadn’t realised that he had grabbed it. He put it down to muscle memory or an automatic pilot type kind of thing.

“Then, could I have your number?” Bud asked again, extending out a hand.

“Sure, but why?” Dude asked as he passed over his phone after unlocking it. Everyone else watched in fascination, wondering where this was going to go.

“I wish to conduct an experiment.” Bud explained, immediately dealing in Dude’s phone number.

“Our phones won’t work.” Pip sighed, wondering where this was going.

“Correction: they don’t work for contacting the outside. But I’m seeing if maybe…” Bud muttered as he placed Dude’s phone on the table. He tapped his phone once and placed it against his ear. It took a couple of seconds before music filled the air. Dude immediately recognised it as his phone ringing. He rapidly picked it up. Unknown caller, but he had a good feeling as to who it was.

“Hello?” He spoke as he accepted the call.

“Greetings!” Bud smiled proudly before hanging up.

“So our phones work but only to communicate in the building?” Mimi asked carefully, making sure that her words were correct.

“Exactly!” Bud beamed. “I’m predicting that there is a telecommunication field but exclusive to us from inside the building. Ergo, if we are all split up and need each other for emergencies only, we can communicate with our phones.”

Not very helpful, but interesting and good enough to know.

“So has anyone found any clues?” Dude asked hesitantly. Everyone shifted uncomfortably where they sat. Each of them didn’t exactly bring anything useful. However, they just needed to bring forth what they discovered.

“I’ve noticed that my room has been perfectly suited to me.” Sprout offered up, hoping that it might lead to something.

“Mine too! It’s perfectly pink!” Candi beamed excitedly.

“I think all of our rooms are like that. It’s kinda creepy.” Mimi added.

“Someone has been watching us somehow! That’s even more creepy!” Sprout shouted, waving his arms dramatically (nearly accidentally whacking Candi and Dude in the process).

“And we still don’t know who is behind all of this…” Pip muttered, drumming her fingers on the table.

“We will! There has to be some more clues somewhere!” Dude encouraged. Keep putting up a front. Make sure that everyone was still hopeful for something.

“I did find something odd about the kitchen.” Bud spoke up, pushing his glasses up his nose. “The food that we had consumed last night has been replaced. I wrote down what we had yesterday-”

“Why did you do that?” Candi asked, putting her hand up like she was asking a question at school.

“To make sure that we record how much rations we have eaten during our confinement.” Bud explained, taking out a small notebook. He opened it to the relevant page. He really did write all of the food items down. He must have done it when he went to his room the night before. “However, when I checked the stocks after breakfast, whatever we had yesterday was perfectly replaced. I’m predicting that it’ll happen again tonight while we sleep. If that’s the case, someone is making sure that we’ve got something to live on for a long time.”

Okay that was strange. Maybe someone was keeping an eye on the group. After all, there are cameras all over the place. It was hard t tell if they were in operation, but it could be possible that someone was watching them from somewhere. But then how did they get the right food supplies to replace what was consumed? It was something that was beyond strange.

“I looked around those doors.” Pip suddenly confessed. Everyone went wide eyed at her. They didn’t think that either one of them would go near those doors after yesterday. Just seeing Sprout nearly getting sicked outside was a big enough warning.

“We non verbally agreed not to go near them again.” Bud scolded.

“I know! But I thought I saw someone out there so I went to look.” Pip said, pointing at where she looked. This brought everyone’s attention to a new light. Someone was outside?

“And?” Mimi asked hopefully.

“Nothing but black.” Pip shrugged. Everyone groaned which prompted her to make her point. “But I swear I did see something. Or someone. I thought that they might have been trying to help.”

“You sure that it wasn’t your reflection on the glass or a trick of the light?” Bud asked doubtfully.

“Maybe? I don’t know! But I swear on my musical talent that I saw someone out there!” Pip insisted, hand over her heart. Dude glanced at the doors. With how much she was insisting, maybe Pip did see something. Deciding to give it a chance, he crept towards the doors. No one stopped him. They just stood up and stayed still. They watched as Dude carefully reached the glass and peered through it. He cupped his hands around his eyes and strained his vision as much as he could. He stood there for a minute, letting his eyes adjust to the darkness outside. However, no matter how hard he stared, he couldn’t see anything. Maybe Pip was tricked by her own reflection? He wasn’t looking forward to her protests about it.

“I don’t see anything, Pip…” he sighed, starting to walk away from the door.

No sooner than Dude said that, there was a loud bang!

Dude spun around so fast that he almost slipped. He slowly backed away from the glass. He still didn’t see anything outside, but he was sure that the noise came from behind him. It went silent. Dude kept walking backwards until he reached the others. Rainbow whined but then started to growl quietly. There was another bang on the glass. Same door. The group flinched back and couldn’t help but stare.

“What was that?!” Sprout stammered.

“It definitely came from outside!” Bud stated the obvious, trembling.

“Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!” Candi whimpered. There was another bang, sound louder and more aggressive. This time, there was a hand on the glass. It stayed there for a moment, before it slinked back into the darkness.

“Hello?! Who’s out there?!” Dude shouted to the door.

“Dude! Don’t you watch horror movies?!” Pip scowled, glaring at Dude. “That’s how most horror movies play out!”

Another bang with two hands on the glass this time. They stayed planted firmly on the door, showing that whoever they belonged to was leaning hard against the glass. There was an outline of a face, but nothing that could be identified easily. The eyes however were an icy blue and just by staring at them brought a literal chill down anyone’s spines. Rainbow started growling louder, bearing his teeth. Sprout and Candi were both trembling terribly and held each other tight. Pip broke into a sweat as she tried to put on a brave face. Bud was torn between staying still or running away to a safe space. Mimi subconsciously moved closer to the closet person to her to feel a little safer. Which happened to be Dude. Dude himself stood stock still with his hairs standing on end. Everyone in the building felt like those eyes would kill then on the spot if that stare was a weapon. The hands stayed still until they pulled back. They slammed back on the glass. The force sounded so harsh that the glass looked like it would shatter. If anyone was hoping that this was someone that would help them, that hope died in seconds.

There was another slam from the hands, and the doors blew open.

A Whole Rainbow of Ponies

Episode 7 of the Rump Design Games brings me and my cohost Pony Flickerman to the rainbow pony collection of year 2.

Disclaimer once again, Pony Flickerman and myself are both native.

Parasol (aka Sonnenschirmchen/Protovrohi/Rosa/Pingo de Chuva/Noivinha) Spirit of the Pony: 5/5 Does the Palette Fuck: 4.5/5 Ugliness: 3/5

Promising start, umbrellas for parasol. These are absolutely weird shaped, they could've been connected and would've looked fine and I think the palette could've better matched the peachiness of her body. However, the absolute scene queen aesthetic of whatever's going on in the example pic. If I could give bonus points for swag I would.

Moonstone (aka Pierre de Lune/Mondschein/Ouranos/Turchino/Asinha Bola de Prata/Selene) Spirit of the Pony: 1.5/5 Does the Palette Fuck: 4.5/5 Ugliness: 3/5

That's not a moon nor a moonstone. That is Uranus. Or Neptune. Whatever. Saturn! Fuck it! It's not a moon! What's with the random dots? Are those the moons of the planet??? She's not called Many Moons (great native name) like. Moonstone here has an opposite problem to Parasol where her colours blend in a little too well with her body. Maybe they were more vibrant upon release but the colours are still so similar nonetheless. I love me a bimbo though, dumbass bitch after my own heart.

Skydancer (aka Himmelstänzer/Astrapi) Spirit of the Pony: 1/5 Does the Palette Fuck: 5/5 Ugliness: 4/5

Listen. I get it. Little Vs in the sky are meant to be birds. Understandable. What's not understandable is how in the fuck shitty cartoon birds relate to "Skydancer". Maybe you can try and bullshit it with "ooh birds dance through the sky" but I'm not having it, don't come for me with that shit. Have you ever seen a seagull? Pitiful. In relation to her story in relation to her Rump Design I think of music notes in the wind more than I think of crappy birds. There are no birds mentioned. Do better Hasbro.

Sunlight Spirit of the Pony: 1/5 Does the Palette Fuck: 3/5 Ugliness: 1/5

Pony Flickerman, in tears: Why would you make the clouds GOLD and the sun SILVER, why would you DO THIS TO ME HASBRO Aside from the colours being weird and atrocious choices for what they're supposed to convey, that sun shape is just. Bad. It's bad. She failed every geometry test possible. The opportunity to make it a cute cartoon half-sun with bigger triangles is right there my friend. Her name is Sunlight, why are we covering the sun in the first place. A pony with this Rump Design would better be named something like Cloudy Day in my opinion. As for her backstory, first of all HORROR STORY. NIGHTMARE FUEL. LIVING SHADOW BAD. Second of all, it has nothing to really do with sunlight, this is about playing hide and seek with her shadow and then the rain coming in. I am appalled. Haunted shadows do not interact.

Windy Spirit of the Pony: 4/5 Does the Palette Fuck: 5/5 Ugliness: 2/5

Unnamed Host: Do you think this one is going to be like... leaves blowing in the wind? Pony Flickerman: I don't think god loves me enough for that. It's not horrible but it does look borderline like some zebra stripes. It could use some leaves or any other shape to convey the wind better. Like the little dots could be leaves instead. Her name at least makes sense with her background included, she's the fastest rainbow pony so she be fuckin' zoomin' like the wind. Impeccable.

Starshine (aka Sternenglanz/Asinha de Açucar) Spirit of the Pony: 5/5 Does the Palette Fuck: 5/5 Ugliness: 5/5

Pony Flickerman: She is serving QUILT :clap: CUNT :clap: REALNESS :clap::clap::clap: I think her Rump Design could've been another colour but otherwise it's cute. I have no qualms, her Rump Design is a star and it's shining. What's there to comment on. Originally her Design was a vibrant gold so there are no qualms. She's lovely and perfect.

I know you don't have to convince people holivia is fake and this is not like your job or anything and maybe it's my anxiety that is worse these days and my mind is forgetting like this past year and a lot of proofs, but I just don't understand why they would go to Italy now so lowkey. They’ve been using “fan photos” since the very early days to try and make it look real, love. I really don’t know what to tell you.

All it takes for me is:

1. Who Harry has shown himself to be as a person.

2. How Harry has spoken and written about relationships and love.

3. Who Olivia has shown herself to be as a person

That alone tells me that Harry Styles would never date a person like her. But if you need more…

4. How desperate she’s been to connect herself to him with the constant pap photos wearing his merch or his clothes and posting photos that tangentially relate to him (Howard Stern after H’s interview was mentioned, Paul McCartney eating watermelon, the dumb elephant head, books H has mentioned etc etc), yet can’t even mention his name unless it’s in connection to DWD.

5. The look on Harry’s face any time he’s around her (the zombie walks, the yacht, on tour etc etc), including the way he blatantly avoids her when he can (like hugging everyone except her after his final show, walking 10 feet away from each other/having a large bag between their bodies wherever possible etc)

6. The sheer volume of photos and rumors and gossip articles we’ve gotten about them when we all know that H can disappear when he wants to and can have a relationship without anyone talking about it. Plus, given how many pap photos there are and how we know DeuxMoi is fed by PR teams… why would you ever believe any of it is real,

And then beyond that:

7. The amount of queer signaling Harry continues to do. every. single. time. Still The One. I Will Survive. Somewhere Over The Rainbow. All of the rainbow flags. Honestly the list is endless.

8. Louis Tomlinson larrying his ass off on tour, night after night.

9. Harry and Louis’ schedules still in sync.

Honestly, even if you take Louis out of the equation and even if you take Harry being queer out of the equation, I still don’t understand why anyone would ever think he’s actually dating Olivia Wilde. It’s just so obviously fake IMO.

My Masterlist

1: I feel they’ll be coming out of a phase where they were very sad. Or they hide their feelings a lot. Nvm there will be a mix some might be depressed but like high-functioning. This is a smaller group, max of 4 people, not including you. For some of you, you could meet your future partner in this group. They could really be depressed or they go through phases were they are very demotivated.

I think what brings you all together is, the hope for something more. You all have beliefs and dreams that coincide with each other and despite challenges you’re all very optimistic.

2: Ok major arcana babes. Very string energy here. These people might be or just come off as very mature, especially for their age. Max of three people including you. So you might be in this energy as well, where you are very mature. I don’t think it’s fake mature where you grew up too fast and you come off as old but like actually being emotionally intelligent and stable in some way. These friends could also be older than you by a few years as well. Idk why they just aren’t childish, maybe you’ve been manifesting this very stable energy for awhile. They don’t repeat things. Like if they have any bad habits or just ones in general they don’t like to repeat stuff. They feel comfortable enough in themselves to try new things without feeling insecure in their identity (this could apply in a queer sense too, apply it to your situation) This could be a friend group with a lot of air (gemini specifically), Leo placements

3: Again in this pile, you might meet your future partner through this group. This might be in university. Someone could be grieving when you meet them. A max of 5 people including you. You might collaborate a lot and do things together a lot with this group. You allow each other to be; like you listen to each other’s emotions and yeah. For some reason I want to say this is a narcissist pile you could be recovering from narcissists, or this friend group has them, or you yourself are the recovering narcissist.. I feel when you have emotional breakdowns or meltdowns, your friends know what’s up. They aren’t surprised at all and it’s not necessarily in an “I”m over it” attitude. They know what to do to get you back on track. Some of you have a very hard to time seeing outside yourself or understanding other people so they help with that.

4: You could have a fwb in this group or you have a one nightstand with one of these friends. Idk if it’ll be a big deal tho. Intellectuals, maybe your at/going to university. They’re very smart, it’s giving STEM. So a potential downside is that they don’t know how to have fun, this could be your run of the mill stick in ass I’m better than everyone else booksmart person/people. They may not be very self-aware or don’t reflect on their actions/behavior. I hope these aren’t people who argue with their professors. I’m getting sexual tension from this pile though. I think what brings you guys together is your studies not necessarily your hobbies, however that makes sense to you. They might be shady or gossipy, I’m getting a max of three people, but more like 2 friends and an acquaintance.

5: There could be a max of 5 people excluding you in this group of friends. There are a lot of energies here, someone in this group has a crush on you or thinks you’re very attractive in general, one is very focused on money in particular not just career, the others might fight/bicker a lot with each other, there could be siblings like twins in this pile. You might feel insecure in this friend group or like you don’t belong in some way. Or they might trigger your insecurities. Each person in this group might have a very different personality from each other. You guys might be together out of circumstances and coincidences. You may not all like each other. This group could repeatedly split into smaller ones, or separate completely over some time. And you might gain new friends from that as well.

6: You could be connected to pile 5 in some way. Your future spouse might be in this friend group. Hustle by M.I.A These people might go through cycles of rest and working really hard or they know how to take a break/can separate their work and personal life. They may make a lot of big decisions in their life. You guys might work together and help each other professionally. I don’t know if you’ll see them that often because you’ll be so busy. But you’ll still be close and will always be in contact even if you can’t talk for months. I don’t think you’ll have a lot of problems with them, these could be very long term friends.

My Dream That 90s Show...

@thatseventiesbitch, @lily-267...if some thought was put into T9S, and listened to what T7S's fans actually wanted, T9S would be amazing! My side notes address my concerns, but the main bits include my ideas, so yeah.

-A late 90s setting ('98), to cater to the y2k craze (and it makes more sense, character-wise), with each season taking place with alternating R/K and E/D seasons (summers with R/K [seasons 1 and 4], school year with E/D [seasons 2-3, season 5], featuring holidays with R/K too). With the end being on New Years' Eve, 1999. Five seasons (at least), right there.

First side note: The grunge era is definitely not what's in right now (more like late 70s/early 80s and late 90s/early 00s), which is one of the main reasons I think T9S is going to be a dud. If it was 2014/5, when the hipster/grunge aesthetic was big, I'd feel differently. But it's not going to draw in new viewers, frankly. The Y2K craze is where it's at, and will draw in some zoomers. And if things were intriguing and interesting, the zoomers would stay for the long haul. And perhaps look into T7S, too.

-An offscreen J/H endgame, with Jackie popping up every once in awhile. J/H's daughter joins E/D's twelve/thirteen-year-old daughter, not named Leia (and played by Raegan Revord), in Point Place's summer adventures. And they attend the same school, in Chicago.

-They have their Point Place friends, made in season 1, and their Chicago friends. Their Point Place friends are fairly white bread, but their Chicago friends are definitely more of a rainbow. With a bunch of interesting backstories, and with deviation from the OG gang's personalities.

Second side note: I've read a bunch of Youtube comments on T9S videos, from more casual T7S fans (and likely, older fans), worrying that T9S will be too "woke" while failing to encapsulate the feeling of the original show (aka, not wanting to take risks in fear of offense). I also think the new gang resembles the old gang too much, which may bring some nostalgia, but I think it won't bring in long-term viewers. The first few seasons of T7S were unique and engaging, and I don't think T9S will push the envelope to make things interesting. So I think it won't retain viewership from the original, older Gen X/Millennial audience, either.

-Kelso and Brooke appear once in awhile, too, as does Betsy (who's in college) and her sibling(s). A few scenes with Jackie and Kelso being besties would be great, too.

-Eric and Donna have their own storylines, with Eric as a history teacher (maybe Boy Meets World style?) and with Donna as a journalist, to hone in on current events (like in seasons 1-2 of T7S). In turn, Eric may or may not make saxophone jokes at Bill Clinton's expense. :)

-Some younger siblings pop up, too. To shake things up a bit. There's nothing like an annoying eight/nine-year-old to dampen the spirits (think a Matt McGuire type).

-One of the girls finds love in Point Place, whereas the other finds love in Chicago. They tackle long-distance relationships, too. And maybe some shenanigans, along the way (one may or may not sneak their boyfriend/girlfriend into Point Place, or vice versa).

-In season 1, E/D and J/H wanted to get their daughters away from the city lights. It was either spending the summer with R/K (or at least, a few weeks with R/K) or summer camp. By season 4, both of them go to Point Place by choice. Well, mostly. The one with the Chicago boyfriend/girlfriend won't be happy.

-The New Year's Eve ending can leave an opening for a new show, if need be, set in the early 00s. Called The Kids are Alright, Teenage Wasteland, etc (some of the floated names for the original T7S). And the annoying younger siblings can become more prominent, with more unique storylines as well.
