♢  — WHAT ELEMENT WRITER ARE YOU?
Tumblr media
WATER WRITER
Just like water, you carry your readers in a new world, and they just can’t do anything but follow. Your poetic writing allures the readers in with beautiful words, just for them to find themselves on the deepest oceans floors, where you make them taste pain in its sweetest form. Water writers are the gentlest liars, they show the readers a small stream, and no one can see the waterfall at the end. If you were a tag, you would definitely be ‘Everything is Beautiful But Everything Hurts’. Cliffhangers are one of your strong points that, mixed with your incredible versatility, make you a great writer. Your stories have a deep meaning, and never miss to leave traces on your readers hearts. You don’t limit yourself, you like to explore the deepest parts in the human soul, and that’s why readers can sometimes find MCD in your stories. Your endings tend to be sad or open, and your stories have the power to drag your readers with you, from the highest waves of a storm, and to the darkest secrets of the ocean.

your könig body headcanons. please and thank you. lemme see what’s going on under there
You got it!
As always, my König is probably going to vary significantly from the popular fandom one (refer to @ghouldtime for my regular ones on him) but that's cause I love writing him as just a guy!
First and foremost, I think he's about 6'6" (at most 6'7"). The 6'10" is absolutely RIDICULOUS. He wouldn't be able to fit in most military gear (safety issue) or even things like bunks, and I believe that's about the most the Austrian military allows (dependent on branch). Plus, at that size, you get a lot of health issues earlier on typically.
I type him as a mesomorph. He's clearly more trim than an endomorph but also doesn't have a scrawniness to him. He's more like a moose build over a bear. Still strong as fuck, still like a tank, but not as 'thick' per say. Just a bit more spread out
He has plenty of muscles on him, he has to. He's hauling a lot of gear and needs to use his substantial form of his job. His clothes just usually hide those
But that's because he is incredibly active and keeps up his form
He WAS a lanky and scrawnier teen but in his older age, he's filled out
I'm NEVER going to give him very clear cut abs. He has a layer of fat over his muscles - that's just natural! And healthy! And absolutely wonderful it's so perfect
He's a big dude, he needs to eat a lot of calories to keep his weight on and to keep going. He's still very much in shape but he's got muscles under that protective layer
He's prone to losing weight when deployed because a lot of the time, what they're served and the times between meals don't cover it. It's why he might gain some extra pounds when he's at home, but that's still healthy and normal. Hey, he deserves it after the workout he puts in
Also stating, he's not some super model. He's just a guy! Like just looked up the leak version of his face model. He's not meant to be this utter stunning Calvin Klein model. And I love him that way and in all that he is
There's nothing more beautiful to me than a guy who is just himself. There's beauty in being human :)
He's a pale guy who burns quite easily. Especially seeing as he's nearly covered head-to-toe most days. Sunscreen is his best friend
He has a smattering of light freckles! They're here and there on his body and there's not really a rhyme or reason, but they're there if you look on places like his forearms and shoulderblades
Like many others who are actively deployed and find themselves in such violent warzones, he's covered in scars of different types. From bullet wounds to knife to burns, his body is a patchwork of them
The most heavily scarred areas are his arms, thighs, and abdomen. Those just naturally take a lot of the flack and he's not exactly focused on being the most graceful out there
He's an insertion specialist (not THAT kind, get your mind out of the gutter. that comes later), he's used as a human battering ram, he's going to be scarred up
There is a prominent scar on his upper lip. That's just from when he was a kid
He was running in the house, like his mom specifically told him not to, and he slipped, ate shit, and bam - new scar
(His mom will still bring it up, as mortified as he is)
His eyes are sunken and always have deep bags underneath them
Sleep evades him even on the best of days and even when most of his face is hidden, you can see the tiredness to them
They're also slightly droopy! They give him a naturally 'sadder' or hound dog look
As for the color, it's a washed out blue-gray like clouds on a winter day or like the first hints of frost in winter
He has dark auburn hair and mostly keeps it in a closer cropped cut. The buzz cut is saved for when he's working, most times anyways, unless he's particularly busy and doesn't want to deal with it
He likes how it looks when it's a bit grown out but he's a man of practicality
The carpet does indeed match the drapes - his body hair is dark auburn, if not a bit darker than what's on the top of his head
Speaking of body hair, his follows the acuminate (tapered) shape
He doesn't fully shave. Not his style and just doesn't make sense (plus it makes him itch)
He still keeps the pits and privates neatened up, but not fully shaved. He just goes with 'as long as I can keep it clean and I'm NOT feeling disgusting after sweating all day with it)
And yes, he does have a happy trail (and it is GLORIOUS)
Now for the 'down there' stuff. NSFW under the cut
He's on the upper end of the more 'normal' sized scale Sorry, being big doesn't mean you have a massive salami and 10 inchers HURT (also they're such a massive inconvenience and you're going to be more likely to suffer from things like ED)
He's about 5.1 inches soft, 7.1 inches hard - which does make him indeed above average by a good amount
He still has a nice girth to him and weight too. It's not the thickest or biggest dick ever but I'd describe it as being comfortably large
And like most Europeans, he's uncircumsized
And most importantly, he has a slight upwards curve too when he's hard. Extra nice for hitting all those good spots
And yes, he has a prominent vein running down the center of it that also makes for some nice aesthetic at the very least
The head is a lovely blush pink (and if you point it out and compliment him, his cheeks will redden and match)
The rest is still pale, but has a ruddier shade to it than the rest of him
I can't write anything about balls without laughing like an idiot fyi but yeah, his are realllll nice. Not that he shaves them but they always have a good weight to them and hey, matches the rest of him. Will always feel right in your hands, and they're sensitive too
Really, a lot of him is sensitive to intimacy. He isn't used to touch from others and often isn't fond of it.
Normally when he cums, he's going to be giving quite a load too
He's usually pent up too because he doesn't masturbate a lot. He's usually focused on other things or has more pressing matters to attend to (like trying to sleep or worrying about the best way to paint the stained glass of the church miniature he was working on)
His taste isn't on the worse side of things, he's got a great diet. Its usually thicker in consistency and is creamier than most. Probably one of the better ones to swallow
And we all know, he's got a nice ass. A muscular one, it's not like sheer 'cake' alone but the dude works out and is on the move, it's NICE
He's always a bit self conscious about his looks since he prefers keeping most of himself covered. So compliment him and tell him how pretty he is :) 💚 my beautiful boy

We're thrilled to shine a light on @zenkindoflove!!! Amanda is an absolute gem in the Elucien fandom AND Eris fandom and has also blessed us with Alexius, her incredible OC for her Eris x OC fics.
Alexius stands out as one of the few male OCs in the community, and the dynamic between him and Eris is nothing short of captivating. Think forced proximity, delicious yearning, witty banter, political intrigue, and all the tension you could dream of. You can see them in both Summer Heat (which has Elucien) and Pull Me in Deeper, which... y'all you gotta read this asap😍🤭🥵 Also the mods are begging you to read Taste of You, a short and delightfully smutty one shot.
And PLEASE admire this amazing art of Alexius and Eris!
Read more to learn about how @zenkindoflove was inspired to create content about Eris AND her extremely helpful tips for writing content about him. (We're taking notes)
What inspired you to start creating content about Eris?  I became curious about writing Eris after he was featured in some of my Elucien fics. When I started my multichapter Elucien fic Summer Heat, I decided that I would give him a male love interest in that fic and create an OC - which ended up being Alexius who you see featured in all of my Eris work. I originally intended for it to be a background relationship, but I decided to experiment and write the scene of their first meeting (a very smutty scene) just to do some character exploration. I didn’t intend to include it in the fic, but then once I wrote it, I knew that it was something special and Eris x Alexius became a true B storyline in that fic with a fully fleshed out love story. After that, I wanted to expand and write fics that focused on them which I've written several now and more to come for Eris Week! It's a bit niche. Hardly anyone writes Eris x Male OC but I'm obsessed now.
What's your favorite piece you've created featuring Eris and why?
That would be my Eris x Alexius multichapter fic - Pull Me in Deeper. I love it because it was a way for me to explore Eris’ character when he is out of the watchful eye of his father and others in Prythian. It’s also just a fun action/adventure/romance story and I got to explore more lore and character building for my OC Alexius as well. Alexius was designed to be, in my opinion, the perfect person for Eris and that means often standing in contrast to a lot of his personality traits and pushing him outside of his comfort zone. So it was an incredibly fun dynamic to explore. And it’s two gay men who are on a quest to find out (*spoilers*) if unicorns exist XD.
How do you approach writing dialogue for Eris?
I tend to lean into Eris being more careful with his words - so he is sharp, concise, and efficient in his word choice. Depending on who he’s sharing a scene with and the context, he can be severe and short or he can be long-winded and eloquent. And of course, he has banter and jabs a plenty. So I try to balance all those sides of him depending on the context.
Do you have any advice for other creators wanting to make Eris content?
Eris inhabits a unique space in canon where he is truly a free agent when it comes to relationships. So, I would recommend if you want to write romances with Eris to lean into self-indulgence and write the pairing/story you really want to tell and try to let go of what you think will be popular. And if that ends up being Eris x OC rather than a canon character, know that it can actually be such a rewarding experience even if you don’t have a built in audience. Creating an OC to pair with Eris has been immensely fun and has broadened my creativity. Eris is a complex, interesting character with so many layers and building someone to fit him and find out what is underneath all of those layers can lead you down quite an obsessive path. But a fun one.
Please give us a name for one of Eris’s Brothers
Kian. He is the third oldest and is more of a scholarly type. Now that second brother Conan is dead, he is next in line after Eris.
Please give us a name for one of Eris's Dogs.
Lithia. She just had puppies in PMID and Eris is worried about her.

Lately I’ve been feeling like Thai bl is truly all over the place with so many shows airing at once and some of the best ones flying under the radar while discourse is focused on a couple of the big messy ones. I think you’re the only person I know who is actually watching ALL of them and has been here for the whole evolution of the genre, so I’m curious what stands out to you about this current moment. Do the shows feel different to you? Is the way fandom is interacting with them changing? And what are your current favs?
I ended up writing a thesis, sorry friend lol To be fair to me there are 3 questions in there, all of them meaty! I've done my best to give a sense of where I'm at with Thai BL and how it feels like it's changed over time.
Caveating all of this: I am just one fan who I'm sure has had specific experiences that will colour my opinion, also a lot of this is just vibes so I'm open to being told I've forgotten something major or misremembered what it was like! If you are reading this and your opinion or experience is different please share, with stuff like this I'm always interested in hearing about differing opinions because the fandom experience will depend at least partly on where you hang out. For years, my main fandom space for BL was the YouTube comments section (RIP me).
Tumblr media
Overall feel
Honestly, things overall don't feel all that different to me in Thai BL in particular, even though I'm about to talk about a lot of changes and ways it actuallyd does feel very different below lol And after reflecting about it, I think it's because these things still feel very much in flux, in a way that they've felt in flux this entire time. Producers are still figuring out the best funding and distribution models and merch models to make money; creators are still calibrating how queer these shows can be and still be popular; actors are still figuring out how to do BGP (business gay performances) without having fans interfere in their private lives off the clock. Writers are still trying to figure out how to write 12-episode arcs that don't drag in the middle or fumble the ending (which is also not new). The tension between established ships, fan expectations, and genre requirements has honestly been there almost the whole time, though the reverberations of missteps is louder now because of the larger fanbase that is (comparatively) more plugged in to live viewing. The core question in BL has always been 'how do we make this marketable', and that unsurprisingly hasn't changed, though the answer to that question has over time, if that makes sense?
Shows
Do the shows feel different? As a whole, I'd say yes. The biggest differences are of course total quantity and overall quality, but the actual distribution of % of shows that have high(er) production values (i.e. quality) feels close to the same--it was close to 50/50 in the late 2010s and now is maybe more like 40/60 with a higher percentage coming from more smaller production companies. But the numbers we're talking about are something like 15 shows in e.g. 2018 and something more like 50 shows in 2023 (being vague because there are shows that people could argue over whether they should count). The quality overall has increased, even the pulps look better, sound better, and tend to feel a little bit more put together than the pulps of even 2020 (please note that these are all relative qualifiers, most of these shows are still not objectively good). 2020 in particular was a watershed moment for high production value BLs; we get colorists and special effects artists, and sometimes decent sound production now!
Tumblr media
There has also been an improvement in terms of what is depicted and how certain subject matter is treated very generally, though I think that's still in flux. Things like evil ex girlfriends are less common than they were and the women in BL are more likely (in general, still not always) to be treated as realized characters. We've gotten more and better femme representation in ensemble shows, and the "gay for you" trope is much less common. Consent is now considered sexy and is much more common than it was; non-consent as "sexy" has eroded and is much less common. Things that used to happen in almost every BL now happen in a much lower percentage. I also feel a little bit less worried about some of the actors on pulp sets because there is more general scrutiny about things like minor actors, intimacy coordination, BGP (business gay performance) expectations, and sexual exploitation. Overall, show recommendations these days come with fewer caveats.
Tumblr media
The assumption that if you worked with someone on a BL once you would stay with them as an established pairing was surprisingly early in BL; I don't know if it's just because there were a few shows that had side pairings then get main shows, so the actors did work together on a few shows in a row, which made them feel established, or whether it's because the BGP started early to build hype both before and after shows aired, or whether audiences just made homophobic assumptions about how if two actors had chemistry they had to be gay for each other, and otherwise nobody would want to "play gay" more than once, or would want to have to kiss too many other men....in any case, there were huge scandals and blow-ups around this in BL on even the earliest shows, and some early shows were snubbed because of the pairing alone. Similarly, it was established very early in BL (i.e. 2016-17) that an unhappy ending for a pair would result in your show being panned; cheating was also a guaranteed flop in BL circles (though some ensemble shows that had gay relationships in them such as Friend Zone did fine with cheating plots and unhappy endings). Overall it feels like some things were only depicted in early Thai BL and creators have avoided them since due to the audience reception at the time. I will say, generally, that there have now been enough examples of people in a "branded pair" moving on to a new pair or multiple shows, that it feels less like a death knell to a BL career if one of the actors says they no longer wanted to make BLs, or if they switched companies.
I pay a lot of attention to queerness in BL, and that has changed a little bit too, though not in the way I expected. I had been expecting a more clear and steady trajectory in BL, but we've instead had real swings, and I've realized there will just always be shows that feel more or less actually gay or queer than others, and that's ok. Early Thai shows really spoiled us for good queer content, GayOK Bangkok and Diary of Tootsies are still shows by which i measure what we get now, and both of those are from 2016. I would say that more "mainstream" BL (i.e. by one of the major production companies) hit what turned out to be queer saturation around 2020 and that's where I was most surprised not see a more clear trajectory; rather than things getting more queer from there, I'd say a greater percentage of shows overall feel more queer, but we haven't (and I now suspect won't) reach the queerness we had in Thai tv in 2016. That being said, my secret running list of things I want to see in BL gets shorter every year as entries get crossed off, so I would say the range of queer experience is slowly getting captured as more content continues to be made by a wider range of production houses (PrEP being mentioned in a mainstream show is my white whale).
Tumblr media
I know some people assume that shows are higher heat now overall, but I don't think that's true. I do think Thai television producers and directors have overalll gotten better at capturing sensuality, and acting workshops have improved chemistry-building overall too. But from what I can tell the ratio of high head and low heat content is still pretty similar to what it's always been, maybe slightly higher (e.g. at a quick glance I'd guesstimate 30% of shows had a sex scene in 2018 vs 40% in 2023).
Tumblr media
Fandom
The main differences in fandom from the really early days and now are the ways we, as international fans, are able to engage with each other, with thai audiences at the same time, and with content creators, and the entitlement that comes with that. In the 2010s we were almost always watching after Thai airing, with either fansubs or, later, official subs, trailing online releases by days or weeks, which themselves may have trailed the Thailand airing date by days or weeks or sometimes even months. That became less true around 2019ish, and especially in 2020 when I think Thai producers were desperate to reach audiences during the start of the pandemic (and when audiences were desperate for something to distract us from what was happening in real life).
As a fan in the mid-late 2010s, watching something was either unofficial via a fansubber, or you were wading through hundreds of Thai comments to find anyone else writing about the shows in English. Now, it's actually rare we don't have immediate international distribution, though it may be paid. If the subs are not up at the same time as the official upload, even on free sites, fans get furious. It's a bit surreal to see people complain about waiting a few hours for subtitles, especially on YouTube, when we sometimes waited months for a series to finish being subbed (not to say people didn't complain back then too, because they sure did! But there were fewer international fans overall, and it wasn't an expectation that there would be subs, so fewer people complained when it happened). This meant that a lot of people only watched shows when they were complete, and people were not watching with any kind of synchronicity.
Tumblr media
With international fans moving into simultaneous watching with Thai audiences, we suddenly had the chance to talk about shows as they were airing and affect the conversations about them and even, sometimes, the decisions. Folks seem to have differing opinions about what makes a BL, and what makes a BL good, and they are vocal about when a show doesn't meet their standard. This has always been true, but the strong opinions have more of an effect on the discourse when they're expressed in real-time to the show being aired. Also, when we have literally 3x the number of Thai shows being aired (nevermind other countries which have also increased), it seems so much more egregious to me to complain if a single show doesn't meet your particular taste. Just go watch something else! That was less possible in 2016, but now nobody has any excuse lol Please note here that I'm not saying shows should not be criticized. But when you have one loud faction saying shows should have nothing but innocent kisses if any skinship at all and showing more is distasteful and possibly homophobic, and another faction saying a show should be panned if they don't have at least one sex scene and if there is no good kiss it's homophobic, I don't know where that leaves content creators but I see the tension and how it sometimes results in my least favourite tropes like "blushing maiden" even after a couple has canonically had sex. These factions have always existed in BL fandom, this is not new, they just both seem particularly silly now with so much content to choose from.
The shows that get attention and the shows that get snubbed feel the same too, in all honesty. You can ask yourself the following questions:
Is the show a little slower paced?
Are the story beats less melodramatic?
Do its characters feel more human?
Do they feel more queer?
Is it a comedy?
Is there any risk of an unhappy ending?
Do people not think one of the lead actors is hot?
Do people ship one of the lead actors with someone who isn't his costar?
Do people have to do anything other than go to YouTube to watch it?
If the answer is yes to any of those questions, and especially to the last one, fewer people will be watching, even if the show is good. That's always been true. [Shows I'm thinking about when I say that: Make it Right, He's Coming to Me, My Ride, You're My Sky, Oxygen (though the sides in this one are also at fault), YYY, Something in my Room, Ghost Host Ghost House, Dear Doctor I'm Coming for Soul, Cooking Crush.] All this is to say, there have always been shows that have been ignored, though I agree with you OP that with more shows airing, more are being ignored at any given time.
Tumblr media
The other thing is that when a show is good, it doesn't necessarily invite discourse. The messes are often what encourage people to dig in, fill in gaps, linger in the adrenaline. The part that does feel different is also related to the increase in genre BLs; genre stuff in general tends to get more attention in fandom spaces, and the way people are functioning as fans feels different in that they're bringing the way they interact with genre content to BL as BL has started having larger and better funded genre content. I'm thinking about those early genre BLs like He She It, My Dream, Love Poison, Golden Blood, So Much In Love, Why R U....we started getting genre shows in BL in I think 2017 and basically had 1-2 a year until 2020ish and then it increased from there; and the ones that had funding and decent distribution got engagement until they started going off the rails, and then they had even more engagement and then fell off. I don't think it's a coincidence that the shows last year that got people to write meta were La Pluie, Be My Favorite, and I Feel You Linger in the Air. When a show is building a world, there's more to say and interrogate about it, and when a genre show fails, it can fail more spectacularly than a regular romance story. The most popular BL shows used to all be straight-up BL bubble romances, but I think genre shows really started to take over a greater percentage of the popular spots in 2022 and 2023. Again, the main difference here is that there used to be 1-2 stand-out shows per year, and now there are closer to 6+ per year, and as we got more stand-out shows the variety of what type of show stood out as popular has expanded. I do think the overall percentage of shows that are more standard romance plots has reduced, partly because Thai production companies are running out of popular y-novels to adapt. So I'm anticipating we'll continue to get more genre content going forward, and maybe a higher percentage of original works too.
Shows I'm Enjoying Right Now
Right now, the Thai shows airing that I'm watching are:
Cooking Crush
Dead Friend Forever
Cherry Magic Thailand
City of Stars
The Sign
Playboyy
PitBabe
7 Days before Valentine
For Him
Of those, I'd currently most recommend Cooking Crush as a generic BL recommendation. Dead Friend Forever is very good, but is not a romance and is difficult for some to watch (there are a lot of dark themes in addition to the gore and scary bits).
Tumblr media
Cooking Crush is doing so many things I love. I've written about the way it's set up its major conflict to be amongst the friend group here, and way the show is depicting communication between the two main characters and how they improve their communication with one another as they get closer here. Two of my biggest BL pet peeves are a conflict for the sake of a dramatic penultimate episode that ignores or retcons a character's growth or the building of trust that a couple has already gone through in the series, so the fact that this show is working so hard to establish strong communication between its leads and then setting up the significant drama to actually about friendship rather than romance is something I cannot overstate my excitement about. To tie this back into what I wrote above, this reminds me of Diary of Tootsies and I mean that in the best possible way.
Tumblr media
Dead Friend Foreever is, like I mentioned above, not a romance; it's a slasher horror melodrama with a very well established mystery, an ensemble cast of mostly hateable characters (which I admit isn't usually my thing, but since they're likely all going to die as a result of the genre they're in I'm finding that more tolerable than usual, and there is at least one character I like). DFF did a great job of structuring the story for the ultimate payoff of information reveals. There are a lot of shows that have been messing with non-linear storytelling recently, Cooking Crush being one of the ones that actually does this poorly in my opinion, but Dead Friend Forever effectively uses non-linear storytelling so that we find out important pieces of information about particular characters at a time when that information will have the most emotional impact on what is happening in the "present" of the storyline. Every time there is a reveal, it informs what we've already seen, recontextualizes it, and means we understand some of the character motivations and actions differently from when we saw them the first time. I mentioned above that there are dark themes in this show; one of the things that I really like about this show is that the impact of class is not glossed over, and that the consequences of these events feel very real for the characters; people do terrible things in this show, but these actions are not treated lightly by the show itself.
You'd think these two shows would have nothing in common, but there are things that they share that put them both in my top category. Generally, in both of these shows, the character arcs are clear and logical; when a character does something, even if I don't like the action itself, I can understand exactly why they that and can see how it matches where they are in their arc at the time. The shows show change in characters as a result of what they experience, and the relationships in this show really matter. When characters start acting in ways that feel out of character or against their own arc because they have to in order to drive the plot forward, I struggle to remain invested; that's not happening with either of these shows. Both of these shows also treat serious topics with seriousness, and consequences for actions are real and felt by the characters in the show (and if someone gets away with something, the show is clear that this is not just). Nothing has happened that hasn't been signalled or implied earlier. Both shows also have clear class consciousness and represent the disparity caused by classism in a critical/harsh light.

Whew! I think I got to everything you asked. Thanks again for the extremely interesting question!

(Feel free to ignore this if this is too much or I'm overstepping)
I think I picture a Getou and Yuuji relationship (or at least in the scenario of Gojou keeping Getou in his basement) as Yuuji just smothering him in blatant sincere care and worry. Doing things like trying to get Getou to smile(sincerely), feeding him home cooked meals, bringing back trinkets or flowers he's picked, just something to brighten his day. He just slowly works his way past Getous defenses.
Possibly devolves into arm/leg/back massages to try and make him more comfortable? To get touching rolling plot wise? Or Yuuji offers hugs? Accidnetal Cuddling during a movie? Falling asleep on someone's shoulder?
And any hostility, insults and lashing out at Yuuji(in the beginning?) is just water off a ducks back to him, Yuuji just keeps coming back, or maybe Yuuji would possibly respond to said hostilities with "Sukuna has said worse/called me worse things" which could be a punch to the gut depending on what it was Getou had said.
Maybe they'd bond over knowing curses tasting absolutely awful? maybe Yuuji could end up cannibalizing Mahito after a chat with Getou? Like he took inspiration from him? And just chomped? Or just curses in general after talking with Getou about his technique? Comparing everyday curses to eating Sukuna's poison. If eating Sukuna won't kill him what could it hurt to eat some curses kind of thing? Sorry that is a bit off topic, i have no idea what kind of plot you'd be going for for this fic. I'll stop rambling now sorry
Anyways it is admittedly kinda hard to picture what their interactions would be like, and i am definitely looking forward to seeing how you decide to portray their relationship. You mentioned not quite knowing what to do with a Yuuji/Getou relationship or something, so I hope this might help you get an idea of how you would or would not want to flesh them out!
You're not overstepping, dw, but you are about to find out how picky and particular I am about characterization, especially when it comes to Yuuji 😂
First of all, in JJK, my process for figuring out a specific character or relationship involves just simmering in canon for a while (for other fandoms, I usually mixed canon with extensive fic reading, but with JJK, I don't engage with fanfic much, so it's just canon that's relevant) before taking the plunge and writing something. For instance, serpent tongue and little lamb are how I got a handle on Gojou and Yuuji, respectively, as well as goyuu in general, while isolation neophyte and bloodstains on the collar helped me sort out Nanami and Sukuna, in that order.
So with Getou/Yuuji, the main issue is that they have zero canon interactions; on top of that, while I'm pretty comfortable writing Yuuji at this point, I've only tackled Getou in very small doses, mostly from Gojou's PoV. The sole Getou PoV thing I wrote was also very Gojou/satosugu-focused. Both the relationship and one half of the ship are uncharted waters for me, which means I'll need to either actually write or envision/outline their scenes to get a handle on them. Since that plot bunny is low on my priority list, that likely won't happen unless I'm suddenly zapped by inspiration.
Now, the thing with Getou/Yuuji is that they'd be fairly easy to sort out in a peer AU, like a senpai-kouhai situation, or even a modern AU. Adult Getou in canon complicates matters because he is, at his core, a genocidal bigot. Yuuji's not lacking compassion for his enemies, but he's also fucking violent toward them. And the one thing he can't stand is people who devalue life—which is precisely what Getou does, only applied to non-sorcerers instead of everyone. He's hardly shy about his ideology either, given that he believes himself to be in the right. Two minutes of honest conversation, and the man would land himself in Yuuji's shitlist along the likes of Mahito and Sukuna.
Compassion and kindness wouldn't really be his go-to techniques there. And Yuuji's pretty tolerant of insults directed toward him, in that he doesn't take them to heart most of the time, but he also bites back easily and often—look at how he treats his grandpa in the hospital, how he's visibly exasperated with Gojou, how he banters with Nobara and Todo. With Getou, there wouldn't be any fondness to make him tolerant of any bullshit, and Yuuji's default friendliness wouldn't survive one(1) explication of Getou's ideology.
I don't think he'd write Getou off. God knows the kid didn't write off Sukuna himself, in the end. And unlike Sukuna or even Mahito, Getou appears reasonable and open to dialogue, though the few canon conversations we see along those lines didn't really go anywhere. Still, there are conversations to be had there, but they'd be arguments two exchanges in. Yuuji's staunch faith in the inherent value of life is fundamentally at odds with Getou's equally firmly entrenched ideology about sorcerers and non-sorcerers.
And then there's Gojou, engineering this situation and watching whether it'll work out or backfire. There's also weird dubiously consensual sex complicating matters from almost the get-go.
It's a soupy scenario. I'll tackle it eventually, assuming my interest in JJK lasts long enough.

What is your opnion on about these Damian ships: DamiRae, DamiJon and DamianxNika?
Ooc —> I'll answer this out of character LOL because I know it's going to be pretty long.
DamiRae : I'm not a fan of this ship for many reasons. First off, in the comics Raven is quite literally an adult while Damian is 13. That age gap is weird in itself. The only reason that it's even a ship in the first place is because of the DCAU where they aged characters weirdly and inaccurate. It's not my favorite nor will I ever ship it.
DamiJon / JonDami : This one depends for me honestly. It's one of those things where people call it "proship" when it actually isn't. I don't think people really know what actually counts as "proship" anymore so when they call them that, I just get a bit confused. They've been shipped since SuperSons was first released and I don't think anything is really going to stop them from being shipped. Majority of the DC fandom also hate that Jon Kent got aged up in his comics too, so it's one of those things that everyone just ignores. My opinions change on DamiJon / JonDami a lot but it just depends on what the factors is surrounding the ship itself. Overall, I do like them. I miss SuperSons.
DamiNika : Believe it or not, I actually do like DamiNika. I think they're cute and have a lot of potential, but it's also one of those things where I could also live without it. I think Nika's main purpose at the moment is to serve Damian as a love interest and I personally am not a fan of that. I hate when characters are made just for that reasoning. I think it'd be cool where Nika got her own solo run and DC focused on her character as a whole without including Damian. I'd rather see her on her own to be honest.

You what’s funny is that I’m seeing so much talk about how this explains why Mabel acted the way she did during Vs. The future.
And etc.
Because of the stuff going on with the parents.
Instead (or at least less so in my experience) of stuff like u and/or me talked about on here.
More on why Dipper seemed and clung so much to what/who he saw as authority figures, like Ford, more in Dipper acting mature/feels the need to act mature/be more mature/etc., why he also, maybe to extent didn’t want to leave (too), him but taking as much care of himself he should and having reoccurring nightmares, what exactly he maybe overheard his parents saying ;like theories on it), etc.
It just kind of bugs me a bit, because these these things are important and interesting. And like it was Dipper’s nightmares, not Mabel’s (at least of the dreams/nightmares that were revealed. The cast probably has more).
She was having nightmares herself ofc, but it involved her pig dying, not her parents. We don’t really knows how much she knows, though she could have suspicions. Though either way, Dipper and Mabel have obviously been affected by their parents in ways.
Anyways, just wish people talked about those kind of things more u and me talked about in relation to Dipper and his nightmares, instead of focusing so much on how this “explains” stuff w/ Mabel (not saying it doesn’t at all. Ur does some. But still).
Curious if u have experienced the stuff I talked about. I.e. how Mabel is affected by their parents, more than Dipper. Despite it being his nightmares? I just find it a bit odd and stuff.
Also, the post which image I an sharing here. I ofc, agree a lot with that post and ur tags.
Also, thank fir answering my other Ask. If u do ever rewatch the show to make that post talking about Dipper’s issues setting up boundaries and stuff. I would love if could ping me that post, if u post it, and if want to ping me. ^^
(Also, lmao at ur toxic your post about Furd and Bill)
Have a nice day/night!
Yes, it does explain quite a lot about Dipper's character in the series itself. He acts more serious than other kids from his age and he really was looking for the author from the journal because he related to him.
I wonder if he acted more ¨childish¨ and, after seeing that argument with his parents, he assumed that he needed to grow up more quickly than other kids? That he would have to depend mostly on himself? It is interesting to think about.
I wouldn't say i experienced that because i'm not that involved in the fandom. I only reblog some stuff i see around and memes of Bill getting drunk over his break up with Stanford (Lol). I haven't seen if people talk more about Mabel than Dipper when it comes to this reveal or confirmation about how their parents are.
And sure! I'll try keeping that in mind if i ever write about it.

For the headcanon thing: Seeker wing language, bonds(the kind one or more Transformers can communicate through and feel each other's feelings and what not), and for a not so common one: Cold Constructs have to deal chronic pains and illness, since their frame was made and not forged.(I swear I'm not making this up, I saw a handful of people writing this)
Oooh, a grab bag. Let's go with a speed round!
Seeker wing language: 😒 This falls into a couple 'ehhh' categories for me. One is just that it reads kinda lazy to me 90% of the time in that it's a way for an author to have it fulfil whatever purpose they need to have characters know stuff about each other or whatever, usually of the 'don't know how to have these characters COMMUNICATE these things so they Just Know bc of the Magic Body Language' variety. I also tend to dislike it because it overwhelmingly comes along with the fanon around different alt modes = different 'species' of Cybertronian, which I have never seen done well, like literally Not One Time lol. Pass.
Bonds: solid 😐, where 'neutral' here means 'depends on the actual fanon being used', because there's a couple different things this could refer to! It can easily fall into the above trope about 'wow they're telepathic, how convenient' stuff, admittedly. In addition to that, for romantic pairings, it easily slips into weird monogamy-is-just-natural 'soulmate' stuff too, lol. (I would perhaps be interested in a version of that which treated is as the existentially terrifying concept it actually reads as to me!) I do, however, like the concept that e.g. IDW runs with in canon, where certain mechs being born with this attribute is both an involuntary thing and also largely a kind of inconvenience; taken out of the typical romance-focused fanon (where it tends to grate more than not for me tbh), it becomes more interesting as a possible bit of alien culture-building weirdness that impacts how society works for certain characters. I think where that lands for me is that there's no real sentimentality to it most of the time. I guess this is a place where fanon takes that hew closer to canon are more interesting to me!
Cold constructs having chronic pain: …unrated, becuase my take on this is that in the right hands there would be a thoughtful concept to tease out there in parallel with the better executions of the cold construct stuff as class metaphor and such, and the way in real life disability and class are extremely linked. And in the wrong hands (I think a lot of hands) it would be ableist as fuck lmao, which like. Canon has enough underlying issues with on its own lbr. So it would be like. Well in theory that would be of interest; in practice I think this fandom is consistently shit about disability, so….

SHIPPING INFO // ANSWER THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR MUSES SO PEOPLE KNOW HOW SHIPPING WORKS ON YOUR BLOG.
Tumblr media
WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER(S)?
i don't have one particular otp — big ships change depending on the Era hellhound is in!
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?
nothing illegal obviously — other than that, aside from long-lifespan characters whose mental maturation is slower, i generally stay away from with 10+ year age gaps when the younger muse is under 20. just feels like a weird power dynamic i guess?
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?
yes! ships on this blog cannot be pre-established — i tend to lose interest fast if they don't build up naturally, either through lots of ooc plotting or through writing. on top of that, seph is ... piiiiicky. she has very specific Types. generally, ships with very gentle, soft, mentally well-adjusted characters are possible, but transient — seph falls out of love after a point, but remains staunchly protective of them.
the long and short of the matter is she's a freak, and you kind of have to match that to be compatible as a long-term partner. but even then they don't always line up perfectly! idk. seph's weird. simultaneously very easy to ship with and very hard to ship with.
WHO ARE OTHER CHARACTERS YOU SHIP YOUR CHARACTER WITH?
oh i've got lots of good ones going on right now!! pls forgive me for gushing. focusing on currently heavily-plotted and/or written ones for this bit bc otherwise it will be pages and pages!! if i forgot someone you have full permission to impale me on a pike i am SO SORRY. (all of these will be under a readmore at the end of the post for length!)
there are more sort of beginnings/potentials for ships that haven't been explored yet which i haven't included here, but i'm truly excited to see where each and every one of them goes!!!
DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?
yes absolutely hahaha — at least communicating ooc about it is necessary! i'm much more comfortable shipping with partners i mesh well with as a mun and have an easy time talking to.
ARE YOU SHIP-OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?
LOOK I. LISTEN. LISTEN... IM FERAL FOR SHIPS. FERAL. even though seph is picky about them — and i promise it's not personal if it doesnt work, it truly is just her dumb creature ass being unable to normal.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?
N/A for this blog, but as a fun trivia fact, i'm deep in satosugu hell rn
FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?
it's all vibes babey. we just start writing their non-romantic dynamic buildup, and if it clicks (or even if u just think ur character would have a crush!) we talk about it ooc and plot some more, then plot some more and before u know it, the angst hammer looms over ur head
Tagged by: @bearratic (thank youuuu!!) Tagging: (points) do it
ship gushing below. <3
@vsagis' villain izuku— i had to put u first bc u kickstarted this shipping renaissance. seph and izuku clicked instantly and started a long-term trajectory that i don't think either of us writers expected. they're just freak enough to match each other, just soft enough to genuinely care. we're really putting these two through the horrors(tm) and watching them fall hopelessly, horribly in love. <3
@spiritcrown's pasha — how could i not mention pasha!! i was so happy to see you back, because pasha and seph's relationship was soooo formative for seph's development wrt romance. seph is absolutely, completely and utterly devoted to pasha. they worship at the altar of her. they would bend heaven and raise hell for her.
@crowshoots' jesper — UAHGHGBBHBH INCOHERENT CRYING NOISES. the first thing seph noticed about jesper was extremely respectable fighting skills, but even then they were definitely uhhhh touch and go for a while there before they started to simmer down and. pin each other down and — one thing led to another and jesper's being antagonized by her antagonists and they're too deeply in love to go back!! i love them. i l
@crowgreeds' kaz — HHHHHHHHH god. hi siri i know ur not around the dash much but idc im writing u into this. kaz and seph both have such a darkness in them that the other recognizes and not only feeds, but when necessary, balances. they're ruthless and violent and mean but at the same time, they have such a softness for each other that they both thought was dead. also, you're the recipient of probably the best rp reply i've ever written (that fucking. hellhound kill description. my GOD im feral for seph protecting him)
@tewwor.... goose is2g we really have the creatures ever. litho — FIRST SHIP!!!! FIRST SHIIIP i still cant believe it took 4 irl years for them to finally admit their stupid feelings. now they're soulmates and there's no turning back. he's the reason seph likes poetry in every verse. the softest snarkiest ship. probably the closest to a true YA-style soulmate seph has. she hasn't forgiven him for all the twilight jokes though tough luck jie & ricochet — the boys... the absolute chaos trio... i never expected seph and jie to fall for each other but honestly i should have. he falls so neatly into her "equally feral" type. ricochet is so calm and seph is kind of intoxicated by that. sheathed claws kind of vibe. just love these three their dynamic balances itself so well
@spungolden's dio — two femmes raised as weapons with deeply suppressed emotions, chillin in a murder alley, five feet apart cause theyre not g— (theyre gay. theyre so gay) these two are so sweet they sometimes make me tear up. they skipped the trauma stage and went straight into lesbian domestic fantasy with only occasional murder.
@chaoslulled oh boy(s). toji — brutally in love. they saw and embraced each other's monster, refused to shy away, and now they somehow revolve in this strange orbit of violent and incredibly soft with each other. i think he's the first of the current ship lineup that seph has in-thread said the L-word to. this ship was so easy to jump right into, the chemistry was like lightning in a bottle. satoru — one of the most genuinely unexpected slowburn ships i've stumbled into. these two read each other for filth INSTANTLY as lonely motherfuckers who, in some way or another, had loved and lost. they haven't even gotten to the oh-shit moment in the slowburn yet but i'm lookin forward to it yakuza sukuna — THE PAIN. THE SUFFERING. AUHHHGHGGGG HOL YOU'RE FUCKING KILLING MEEEE. these two are mirrors in the worst possible way. they've got their throats stuck under their boss' boot heels; they've been disfigured, they've had their siblings used as leverage, they've been made into muzzled dogs. despite hating each other at the start, they can't not recognize that, and it's led to this fierce protectiveness that isssss whoops evolving into feelings. i'm sure nothing will go wrong
@eraserisms' shota — AHHHHHHH god okay most of this ship has been pure plotting vibes and responses to memes, but i truly cannot wait to get into writing more of them because they own my heart and soul. i think they know each other to the marrow in a way that's not super common for seph, and the gentleness and caution with which they're starting to explore revisiting their care for each other is heartbreaking in the best way
@sasouken BEE!!!! ok chronologically(??): deku — so precious and wholesome from the start. your honor he's just a little guy with a big dumb crush. when i tell uuuuuu some of our plotting has literally made me tear up a little??? the absolute bleeding heart on this boy??? HURTS ME??? one day they'll hold hands casper — slated to be our angstiest dynamic, i just Know it. two motherfuckers who love their siblings, inextricably involved in a tangled web of crime and violence. two people who have lost so much and don't want to lose anyone ever again. i will die i WILL satoru — such... a different vibe than i was expecting in an amazing way?? his dynamic with seph is so fuckin sweet? so much physical touch born of trust and comfort. also again: her first ever fwb (for now), which is truly a wild thing to experience. sukuna — i .. . dont even know what to say about this one. (affectionate). he unlocked an entirely new dimension of freak in seph's psyche and attraction style that i couldn't comprehend before we started writing them but retrospectively makes so much sense. what the fuck is going on with these two i have no idea but i am OBSESSED with it. also writing them getting down nasty has been extremely fun, i'm enjoying it a lot

I love your designs for Gracie, Jerry, and Yan! Could you talk more about your headcanons for them? Like the powers and personalities you mentioned?
*twirls hair* Why thank you hehe
My headcanons for them shift a bit from time to time as I change my mind very often so I apologize if they will make little sense (it's not like I ever had to use them for a fic anyway) but the general idea is that Jerry's main domain is knowledge, Gracie's is light and Yan's is truth? Maybe?
There's not much info a single line can give but Jerry gave me the impression of a very uh. Pragmatic kid, so to speak? In a group I think he's the person who gets everyone back on track. Maybe a bit of a know-it-all, likes to sound like he's learned every page of a dictionary front to back for fun. That naturally connects him to Apollo's domain of knowledge and I know it sounds lame because that would make him very similar to a child of Athena but also there can be some interesting ways to play with that concept
Power over knowledge would of course entail exceptional photographic memory and a knack for understanding complex concepts: he reads something once, instantly understands and memorizes it (if you're wondering if Mike Ross inspired this in any way then yes, he did). However, depending on how powerful he grows to be, I was thinking that it could make him have some power over someone's mind as well, maybe by letting him manipulate certain types of information in their minds or even just access it. I mean, one of the articles on ReadRiordan mentioned that as the Muse of history's son Hyacinthus had powers over people's memories/perception of things, so it doesn't seem to be too far-fetched to think that knowledge would entail something similar
A popular headcanon in the fandom is also that Jerry has power over prophecy to some degree, and that would ALSO be very intriguing, especially given the implications of Jerry being (at least among the canon characters) the first child of Apollo since Halcyon to have prophecy powers 👀 maybe in this scenario it could be some sort of secondary power that's a direct consequence of the first one? Maybe they could be connected? Not sure
On the contrary, Gracie to me is basically the complete opposite of him. She's way more open and carefree and gets side-tracked very very easily, and even though most of that naturally derives from her 7-year-oldness (because I cannot see her as anything but a 7 y/o tbh) I think it would stick with her even as she grows older. Light powers seem difficult to master and actually use in combat by virtue of how easily light scatters, so maybe they would be a good way for her to center herself and be more focused
I actually considered the possibility of her having powers that connected to Apollo's purification domain as well because it's never mentioned and it is, at least in theory, cool as hell as a power, but I fear it would only make sense in a pair—light as a tool for purification, for example. Warding off evil, neutralizing curses, that sort of thing. It could make her very susceptible to corruption that way, but it is what it is! Many powers have some sort of downside
Finally, as for Yan, they seem like someone who only talks when they feel like it or when they deem it necessary and is, as a result, very observant and a good listener. Part of being able to know when someone's lying is paying attention to the way they behave, what they say and how they say it, so powers over truth seemed like a good choice in this context. Yan would be able to unconsciously realize that someone's lying through their tone, and as they practice even single out the specific lie later on
That would probably require a very receptive inner ear so that would mean they'd have a second, lesser power then? A natural affinity for music for sure, though I'm not sure about the specific instrument they'd pick
Anyway this is pretty much all I have! Ofc it's all a bit up in the air and I was making this up as I went because an idea apparently doesn't always make sense in words on its own but hopefully it makes sense now <3
I can't exactly say I'm excited about the upcoming books as I used to be due to how some things were handled (in TSATS specifically) but if these three are there and we get even a crumb of additional information about them it will be enough for me even if it disproves all of this 😭🙏 I just want something solid to work with yk

ALWAYS FEELIN' A BIT INSANE ABOUT SONGBIRD!! 💥💥💥💥
Currently very invested in the Scar character development, he's very silly and I am obsessed with how you write him. Eating ur writing, I literally never shut up about it heryehur
He has so much depth to his personality. His struggle with identity, hiding the truth, opening up to others, traumatic experiences, etc. His complicated relationship with Mumbo as they walk on their tip-toes wondering what happened to get them to this point... His love for Tubbo and his hate for humanity. His conflicting emotions about death. His ever-changing view of Grian and what made him so worth it when nobody else caught his eye. The fragile concept of simply being himself and not the monster people think he is. He's so WONDERFUL AAAA!! *shakes you*
EEEEEEEEE YAY :D
scar has easily become one of my favorite songbird characters. he's definitely rounded out a lot since the start of songbird and I'm so !!!!!! about him -- and now that arc 2 is finished, I can actually talk about scar's character arc because GOD DOES IT MAKE ME INSANE. OKAY.
I remember being kinda nervous about introducing scar way back when in welcome to the circus, because I wasn't sure how he'd be received -- I mean, he's basically introduced as an antagonist right away, and he feels so different from his typical characterization. well. he's not that different, but I certainly lean wayyy more into the intimidating, scary image. and when you don't know a character's motivations for that... depending on the writer executes the writing, you could either be Incredibly interested, or you could write it off as out of character/bad writing. so welcome to the circus was absolutely a HUGE gamble. hell, everything that followed was a big gamble!
but I am so happy with how scar's development went. I think I could've added maybe one or two more one shots right before enchante to add a bit more pacing of scar's development, but overall I really am pleased with it.
arc 2 was heavily focused on scar and his betrayal (which like,,, yeah, obviously @ myself GJFHJFG) my biggest goal when writing arc 2 was showing the readers that there was more to scar than just his cold personality. that there was a reason for his behavior. it's kinda similar to how mumbo was first introduced. mumbo was off as well, though granted his true personality came about a lot quicker than scar's did.
so this arc was about exploring scar's character (and his understanding of/warming up to grian) and his growing internal conflict between betraying grian and mumbo and keeping tubbo safe. I really wanted to get across that at first scar had no remorse for what he was doing. but when he started getting to know grian, being given his kindness, when scar started to let down the walls around his heart, that's when the guilt kicked in.
I love scar's whole battle with his identity -- it's one of my favorite pieces of his character, and something that'll be explored a TON more in arc 3 (and perhaps the reason why that battle is there to begin with 👀) the way I've always looked at is: scar isn't human, but he's not quite fae either. so he's had to carve out an identity for himself; the grim reaper, a monster, it's all the same to him. he's not just standing at the cross between two worlds. he's carving a path between these two worlds -- he's creating a third world, specifically for himself
and I think scar's struggle with his identity is something the fandom as a whole doesn't touch on nearly enough as we should. scar is a man who's constantly wearing a mask, and that mask is everchanging. there's some seriously fun concepts to be played with there! which is exactly what I want to explore in songbird and this upcoming arc.
I also feel really insane about all of the backstory crumbs I've left in arc 2 for him. this one in particular drives me crazy:
Tumblr media
( it's from the weight of living chapter three in case anyone is wondering :3 )
if you've ever seen in anime where a character has like. some ominous shadow figure looming over them and they look really afraid or panicked, that's exactly the kind of image I was picturing when writing this scene. and that's kinda what happens here! (one day when mumbo and scar's backstories are revealed, I would love to like. comb through songbird for all of the crumbs I've dropped and explain them)
but scar's character is so complex, and I think that's what makes him so fun. he doesn't operate on human morals, but he very much does have human emotions and a human heart that he buries and AUGH!!!
and I can't talk about scar's character without mentioning enchante, because C'MON. IT'S LIKE. THE SONGBIRD SCARIAN FIC HFGJDFGHJ
enchante is SUCH an interesting turning point for scar and grian's dynamic. mumbo and the boys have been kidnapped, scarian are forced to work together and they don't entirely trust one another, and they're running on limited time. and it's through this situation that they're forced to learn about each other. scar learns just how far grian's kindness goes, how he views the world. and grian starts to get some insight into why scar behaves the way that he does.
we see scar step in to defend grian against taurtis the first time under the guise of being offended at taurtis' bad negotiation skills, and not even knowing himself why he steps in! it's the first time scar sees the depth of grian's humanity and his guilt and his care for the ones that he loves. and then in turn, grian learns why scar is so apathetic and uncaring and there's some sort of understanding the two of them reach. it drives me SO insane fae. I cannot express.
AND THE GRIM REAPER STUFF MMMMMMMMM WE'RE GONNA COME BACK TO THAT. IT'S GONNA BE GLORIOUS. I've got some scar story that are gonna make people go INSANE when I drop it. it makes me want to gnaw on my arm man
songbird!scar is just so delightful to me, and I really love writing him a lot. his relationship to mumbo and then to grian is SO fun to examine, and we'll definitely be doing more of that in arc 3. I'm really glad that people love him as much as I do because <3333

Top 5 fucked up family bonds!
oh mannn. I feel like this one fluctuates depending on, like, what fandoms I'm focused on at the moment, but to try to shake it up a little since I've answered a question like this before (though that was specifically for siblings! and no shade! just challenging myself, mostly, since most of these are probably going to end up being siblings, that's just what I'm like)
1. Azula and Zuko. Since Avatar is in the air lately and I just queued a post about them, and I am deeply invested in their relationship even if I don't talk about it a huge amount these days - I think about this one in particular from Azula's persepctive. The way that Zuko is the negative that Azula measures herself against, that she pretends not to care about him but I think he occupies a substantial part of the way that she constructs herself in opposition to him, as everything he isn't, the negative model she will never be. But then there is Zuko's end of things, the push-pull between the ever-present comparison between them where he falls short and the fact that I think he genuinely does care for her even as he doesn't, I think, really know how to deal with her, or really understand her. And also any family relationship involving attempted murder is going to be like catnip to me.
2. Kinn and Vegas. Family dynamics where I am both very into the family dynamic and also kind of ship them occupy 3/5 positions on this list, which says something that I think is just about the way that sufficiently obsessive and entangled relationships between a pair of people is going to lure me into seeing what I can do to make it more fucked up (with possible fucking). But anyway!
I love how they make each other worse, all of the time. They bring out the absolute worst in each other, always; they fail to see each other clearly and perceive each other beyond their flaws but also beyond how their respective fathers have pitted them against each other like fighting roosters. They're mutually obsessed with each other no matter how much I think Kinn would like to pretend that he is aloof and indifferent. It's a mess. It's delightful. Also the only non-siblings on this list. Notable for the fact that in their first scene I failed to recognize them as cousins and assigned them ex-boyfriend energy.
3. Felix and Mildmay. Okay so I've included them on lists like this before but they deserve a mention anyway. Because boy! What a mess! From the beginning! They love each other so much and it's a disaster! Felix's attraction to Mildmay at least in part because he doesn't know how to love without sex! Mildmay's hopeless attachment to Felix despite all the cruelty he dishes out! They're just...I love them and I love their mess of a relationship and I also love how it develops over the course of the books into something better. Honestly the only one of these pairs that does that. Kudos to them.
4. Celegorm and Curufin. Okay, this one is built a little bit on a towering edifice of headcanon, but so sue me, and it's not entirely! There is on page content for these two! So there!
A friend of mine has the tag for these two #the other brotherwives and I feel like in some ways that sums it up for me - the way that they are, again, entangled in each other in a way where they always come as a pair, and their personalities both complement and contrast each other, and they're just so. All the sons of Feanor are a mess of codependent relationships but these two kind of stand out by virtue of always being paired, in everything, including all their worst choices, even their deaths. And again, I have a towering edifice of headcanon in particular about how their relationship both decays and calcifies over time, becoming both more desperately close and also more tangled with resentment at the way things fall out, but ultimately they can't be separated from each other.
5. Millions Knives and Vash. Throwing out a wildcard I haven't talked about much, but like. Wow! Another sibling relationship tailored to cater to me that came as a surprise out of left field and decked me in the face! I still need to read the manga but at least when it comes to Trigun: Stampede the sheer toxicity here, the fucked up love and protectiveness and possessiveness and guilt and the way that ultimately while Knives' goals exploit Vash it doesn't, I don't think, erase the love; I think he still sees it as for Vash's own good, even as he's doing much the same thing he deplores when humans do it. I have headcanons about part of Knives' motivation for crashing the ships has to do not just with self-protection but protection for Vash, and the way that decays over time is. Chef's kiss. Love it.
Bonus mention to Lucivar and Daemon and, because I just can't leave them off and they do still have a special place in my heart, Thor and Loki. But also for a non-sibling relationship again possibly out of left field, I actually think a lot about Loki and Odin too, and if I still have MCU feelings sometimes those are one of them.

How do you get past writer's block? I have a fic that I'm working on that is updating on a schedule, and I made the mistake of giving myself a month off in between parts and now I can't really get back into writing it. I don't want to leave it abandoned because I have a few people who I know are really invested and I don't want to leave them hanging, but I'm having a hard time getting as excited to write it as I did before.
Ok so I'm in a weird place for this, hilariously. Because The Answer That Usually Works For Me (TM) and that carried me through a regular weekly update schedule for almost two and a half years is, in fact, not at present working for me apparently my brain can write through a pandemic but not through recovery from the shit that went down in December/Jan so we found my writing kryptonite. However, I'm going to assume you're closer to 2021 Pasta than 2024 Pasta. SO LET'S GO WITH THE METHOD I NORMALLY USE SINCE IT WAS SUCCESSFUL FOR YEARS. Cause that's the thing: sure, I've written almost a million words, and pumped out chapters for years (ignoring the past few months) but I promise, I hit the same walls as everyone else even when nailing weekly uploads. But over those years, I came up with a fairly solid list of steps that I'd go through one by one.
Fun one first: when I'm in a block, I almost always try re-engaging with canon first. I'd rewatch my favorite episodes, binge a whole season, or even the whole series depending on how much of a boost I needed. For me at least that was often like Pavlov's bell, my favorite story triggering a flood of affection. I'd remember why I loved this fandom and the characters so much, and it could often kickstart my brain and excitement back into gear. If you really want to dangle a carrot and your fic touches on canon, focus on watching parts you're excited to get to in your story. A big one for me in TRT for example was the post-Nobu, Nelson v. Murdock episode, since I'd had that planned for TRT almost since the start, and I was very excited to reach the hurt/comfort I had planned. Even if your fic isn't following canon though, see if it'll give you a creative rush again!
So let's say step 1 doesn't work, either because the canon just isn't hitting the spot or because your fic is dealing with something else. In this case, my next step was usually to jump ahead to write a scene I was really eager to get to. It was often a short blurb, but it was always something I REALLY wanted to explore, and because I'm also a reader who likes exactly the tropes and plots I'm writing, I want to read what fucking happens. Except, fuck, I'm not there yet, am I? And I can't see how that scene finishes until I write my way up to it and finish it. This is my own carrot. Multiple scenes in TRT were written months or even years in advance, simply as a way to bribe myself. This is also an option!
But maybe this doesn't work. Sometimes it didn't. This is when it got a bit more serious. For anyone who was reading at the time, you'd have noticed that I'd sometimes drop side fics, either Matt POVs or one-shots. This was me, in essence, working on the shower principle (basically, ideas/solutions will come if you stop thinking about it and do something else, like take a shower). I figured if I went and wrote something else - either with less stress, or something fun and dopamine-inducing - the part of my brain focused on my Big Fic would wander around the writer's block beneath my notice. And it almost always worked, all while I still kept my brain trained that, hey, even if we're not writing This Thing, we're still writing.
But let's say this doesn't work either. You're well, and truly, stuck. Been there now and then. And, you're going to hate this one. I hate it but it works 9 times of 10. And it is: Write anyway. Half of it was spite. I was not going to give up my schedule, I liked my schedule. The other half was that I knew myself. I knew if I could just get past the chapter/plot/dialogue I was struggling with, I'd be able to roll along again. And so I made a rule: whatever I wrote didn't have to be pretty. It just had to exist. If that meant I wrote, "Jane chased the cat in circles and caught it. She was happy." then that's what I wrote. Because everything, EVERYTHING, can be fixed in editing. But you can't fix what doesn't exist. And so there were those nights when I would scowl and groan and snarl and bash my head against that writer's block until 5 in the morning, but in the end Jane chased that fucking cat adn caught it, it was written. Hilariously, sometimes those chapters have wound up amazing (likely because I spent so much time hammering at them) and reader favorites. There are absolutely, I believe, moments where you can, and should, see if you can push through.
But that brings me to *waves* now. A lesson I've only recently recently and with encouragement. Namely... sometimes brain no go and that's ok. My steps work for me 99.9% of the time, but I've done the above during the past few months, and it just... hasn't dragged me out entirely out of it yet. Sometimes, our brains demand that break, especially when things just aren't going great. There's a reason TRT had a break of roughly 2 years between chapter 4 and chapter 5 (feel free to check the chapter index with dates on AO3!). I had some life things happening and I just was not in a place to write, even if I was still busily plotting and planning and thinking about TRT behind the scenes. And that was ok. We're not machines. I came back like a bulldozer in Jan 2021, yes, and bulldozed through weekly updates, but that break was needed. And now I'm obviously taking a short one again while I recover from everything. It's ok if you're not in a place for it. So the last step is one I've been told a lot by dear friends recently as they helped me through this: be kind to yourself, and try not to stress if none of the above works. The story will always be there, and if TRT is any indication through all its highs and lows, your readers will be there when you start up again.

beatrice baudelaire!
my girl!
How I feel about this character: I've always been really interested in Beatrice because of how mysterious she is. Like, as a fandom we have a lot of headcanons and stuff we've extrapolated from the books and supplementary material, but on pure canon there's a lot of gaps in what we know about her that makes her interesting, especially when it comes to fans trying to fill in those gaps. And I like that she was just this super cool and super hot woman that everyone was so incredibly obsessed with no matter what side they were on, everyone and their mother had a complex about Beatrice.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: If Daniel Handler didn't want me to become far too obsessed with Lemony and Beatrice as a couple, he shouldn't have written five hundred thousand words of Lemony going "Beatrice I love you so much let me list it all" as a way to reassure her when she asks 'hey do you still love me' in the 200 page break up book she wrote. That's just insane, of course I ship it. I'm also really into Beatrice/Bertrand as a couple too, people can have multiple great loves. And depending on my mood I can be really into the lemonberryice throuple.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Beatrice and Kit's relationship is always gonna be interesting to me, and Olaf and Beatrice just seem to have had the most fascinating dynamic, legit friends in childhood to some more vitriolic friendship and then she murders his parents and then he torments her innocent children, it's Good.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't know if I've got any necessarily unpopular ones because this fandom in general, and especially the bit focused on the sugarbowl generation, is very small and most of the stuff I've seen I agree with. I guess I might characterize Beatrice as a bit, idk, colder than most? For all her other facets, Olaf was someone she knew and seems to have gotten along with well on a personal level, and she still doesn't seem to have spent much time outwardly agonizing over what might have been straight cold blooded murder. I don't think she was evil or unfeeling, and there's a reason she pulled back from VFD stuff especially after having children, but there might be a more ruthless streak there in my view than in some other people's.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: idk man, that she fuckin lived? It's a bummer that she's dead, she was a devoted mother and a good friend and an important part of a lot of people's lives and it seems like a bunch of worlds were dimmer without her in them, her kids are gonna miss her for the rest of their lives and Lemony is still deeply affected by losing her literal decades after the fact. I wish she'd been able to meet little Beatrice too, I think they would have gotten along great.

Doing an introduction post because I didn't before
Tumblr media
Hi! I'm usually known as Sky Cas (Sky Casino Regular - AO3 username of mine). I decided to make a Tumblr acc because I have free will (as Nikolai would say), and because of easier interaction with BSD fandom.
The most important thing about me is that I write fanfiction, specifically Bungou Stray Dogs fanfiction. What's also an important information is that I have a co-writer with who I write those fics with, so I'm not entirely responsible for plot, but I am for most of the writing!
This blog will be focusing on BSD and fanfics, so here is my AO3 account!
Post is a bit longer but it's gonna be pinned so I want to put everything about me/this blog in one post!
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂩🂨🂧🂦🂥🂤🂣🂢🂡
DNI
Since I do write E rated stuff, sometimes M rated, my posts will also be of that nature. I don't feel comfortable interacting with people younger than 17, so please keep that in mind.
🂱🂲🂳🂴🂵🂶🂷🂸🂹🂺🂹🂸🂷🂶🂵🂴🂳🂲🂱
Favorite characters
Sigma
Nikolai
Fyodor
Shibusawa
Bonus: most "hated" character in my case is Dazai. Somehow, he always ends up being the bad guy in our fics.
Favorite ships
Fyosiglai
Siglai | Fyolai | Fyosig
Fyoshibu
Fyozai
Sigzai
I mostly write Fyosiglai or individual ships of theirs. I adore Fyoshibhu too, especially when it's one-sided.
Bonus: I don't like SKK nor do I intend writing about them (I do have one work, though).
🃑🃒🃓🃔🃕🃖🃗🃘🃙🃚🃙🃘🃗🃖🃕🃔🃓🃒🃑
What I write
Mostly smut, sometimes with plot, sometimes just shameless one without plot. Depends on the day and the fic. Sometimes angst because I love hurting people and myself with my words :) And sometimes fluff, but that turns into smut real quick. Overall, I am mostly focused on ships.
I have my fair share of AU fanfics, so most of them aren't set in canon universe.
I do tend to start something new and I do kind of push back some fics that I'm working on, but I do try to post updates to most at least once a month!
Fics of mine (ours)
Some of them, my favorite ones. If you want to see all of them, feel free to check my AO3
DOA game nights - fic with most kudos, smut with undertones of plot (the plot will come later on, though). Of course it's Fyosiglai :)
A new Angel of the Decay - sadly not everyone's cup of tea, but me and my co-writer adore this family drama we came up with, and our dear Theo (Fyosiglai's kiddo)
Series "Diary of Angels"
A whole AU focused on Fyosiglai; from Fyolai meeting in high school, them being in college, finding Sigma, becoming fwb, and later lovers, then a married couple with their dear Theo. Currently has around 160k words!
🂡🂢🂣🂤🂥🂦🂧🂨🂩🂪🂩🂨🂧🂦🂥🂤🂣🂢🂡
Messages/questions/requests
I am more than happy to interact with BSD fans and people with same intrests, the same with people who read my works, so don't hesitate to contact me, talk to me via messages, or ask questions at that ask thingy!
I don't do any fic requests because my ass can't write what it doesn't want to, so I won't pressure myself into doing that, at least not yet.
But I'm more than happy to talk about most themes, prompts, headcanons, and all that.
Posts
Right now, I'm posting things from my Kinktober, and I will be promoting my works here. But I will also post my random thoughts and things that are too short for AO3 (or are just not "worthy" publishing there).
🃑🃒🃓🃔🃕🃖🃗🃘🃙🃚🃙🃘🃗🃖🃕🃔🃓🃒🃑
I think that's all? I hope I didn't leave anything out that's important.
So bye bye!
I did leave something out, actually!!
I cosplay! And since this blog is mostly BSD, I'll post my BSD cosplays here and there :3

(PFP by this cool person!)
•Introduction Post•
Actually, ima just start actually doing this post to get some stuff organized.
First off,
Hi
I'm making my interaction now because i didn't really think of one from the beginning.
But to just start off- i make drawings and some other stuff like animation, but i rarely ever do them at times.
At the current moment, i am obsessed with sonic and might draw sonic related stuff a lot, but i also draw my attention to other fandoms too like sonic.exe, possibly pokemon, mickey, fnf, Jsab, and some others and maybe my OCs and AUs, too (of course not in this specific order though).
I mostly use my phone and finger to draw, but there will be times where i draw on my tablet.
I'll probably be active a bit more, but there will be times that I'm not, I'm pretty sure that's obvious, but it's just to let ya'll know n' all. But i might draw on my phone on the weekdays, and in the weekends, I'll try to do a complete drawing on my tablet, because usually that sometimes takes days depending if i get distracted, (though, note there will be times i post some of my art from there since there's a lot of drawings that are kind of a few months old now, or somewhere in 2021 when i did them).
But yea, not too much to say about me, this is just an introduction post that I'll pin for any newcomers, that's all.
