arabella // hobie brown x reader (one-shot)
oneshot of hobie trying to pursue a reader who's effortlessly cool and has strong arabella vibes cuz i love that vibe. inspired some on slc punk and sex pistols lore, cool fic for the music enthusiasts
New girl's hip New girl's cool New girl's interesting New girl's hot.
"She came straight out of 70's New L.A. She's no rockstar's girlfriend, she's a rockstar herself! Crazy hair, mysterious bassist, she's from outer space."
AO3
And when she needs to shelter from reality she takes a dip in my daydreams...
"Ay, who's the new girl?" Was the first thing Hobie asked as he nudged Pav's shoulder, not breaking his intense stare at the new recruit.
"New girl? Oh that's YN." Pav shifted his narrowed eyes into Hobie's, a teasing grin drawing on his face.
"Yea' but what's her full name...?"
"Go ask her yourself man, everyone calls her YN." Hobie never got her name, she refused to be called anything but those particular initials.
To say she was pretty was an understatement. She was stunning, show-stopping, alluring.
At least to Hobie, all adjectives were perfectly applicable.
She had this quirk, this confidence and these slight Chrissie Hynde vibes, boldness when she spoke that made her so attractive, and to top it she was a great musician.
Back in her dimension it was the seventies, and she was the leader of a girl band where she played the bass, doing small gigs in downtown New L.A.
She wore flamboyant black cowboy boots and scandalous skirts, with chunky sunglasses that looked like the eyes of a bug. She had crazy hair and wore Vivienne Westwood's accessories on her pierced ears and fingers before it was even cool in the US. Her dark tights were always ripped but she didn't care, she called it a fashion statement. So did she call her Spidey suit, which had a unique design that caught anyone's attention.
Love was for posers Hobie thought, but what's more punk than going against your own structures?
"Gwendy I gotta' talk to this girl more." Hobie's frustration was something Gwen wasn't used to seeing. His nature was often relaxed, only energic when invited to disrupt the order, but hardly ever frustrated.
"Well, you don't have to." Gwen shrugged as she tried to mask the frown that was forming in her face, but her wrinkled nose gave away her displease of jealousy.
"I know, but I want to." His attention was fixed on YN, how she moved and talked. "I wanna hear her play. You're a girl right? When you girls think a lad's fit, how much of that comes from his coolness?" He asked as he leaned on Gwen's side, resting his body weight on her. She scoffed in disbelief at the absurdity of his question, something only a man could ask.
"Since when do you want to conform to the arbitrary standards of women?"
"I don't, I just wanna' know how many I can get away with breaking and she can still like me yea'?" Hobie chuckled before getting up again. "Don't get too jealous on me alright?" He joked, patting his friend's shoulder as he jumped down from where they were sitting, approaching her once again.
"He's never gonna give up is he?" Miles sat once again close beside Gwen, who sighed at the sight of Hobie attempting to come off as nonchalant with a girl who only seemed to curve his insinuations over and over.
"That's such a man thing to do, no offense." Gwen spat as her hand slid down her face, pointing at what she could only describe as a humilliation show.
"Yeah... right."
It's not that she didn't notice, she just dodged him. She thought there was more important things to do than let herself be conquered by some co-worker. But she was lying if she said he wasn't winning her over.
He also was so her type.
The funky hair, the spikes on his leather vest, the stickers and carvings on his guitar, his Iggy Pop vibes and his weird slang. But he thought he was so it, he was a nice guy but he needed some humbling. Their first conversation was about Bowie, and he played her a bit of Moonage Daydream as she recalled when she saw him live, getting all starry eyed whenever she'd narrate the part where she gave him a ride in her car.
"You gave Bowie a ride?"
"Spider's Tour, yeah..." She giggled, flipping her hair in a way that had him starstruck. "In my mom's car."
"In your mum's car? Oh get out." She went on to talk about how that changed her view on music, going on about her gigs in New L.A and how she moved there to make it big.
Hobie was sure he was listening, but as much as he tried to contain himself, keeping in comments was not in his book.
"You always dress this mad? Like, all the time?" He bursted out with a smile, cutting her off. They were sitting on a counter table, with his guitar on his lap. He leaned closer to pick on the fabric of her coat.
"Always. Do you always dress so pretentious?" She retorted with a smug grin, pushing her hair out of her face. His eyes shot up to look at her, puzzled. "I mean, aren't you like... rebelling against society?" Hobie let out a slight laugh, his head tilting in interest as he looked into her eyes.
"Well, yea'. Why?"
"Don't you think it would be more of an act of rebellion if you didn't spend so much time buying stickers and pins and going out to get punky clothes? Stop me if I'm being offensive, I think the style's hip, but it just seems counterproductive to your cause."
"Na' its cool, keep going." He struggled to discern if he was actually listening, or simply invested in watching her mouth smart words as her long painted nails tapped on the counter.
"You want to be an individual, but it's like you wear a uniform. It's just punk fashion, not rebellion." Hobie's eyes fixated on her's, leaving a strong silence as she ended her phrase.
"I'm not judging you, just kind of a general critique to what they call punk movement."
Hobie brushed her off with his usual humorous comments to maintain his pride, but he was dazzled. Even if she had criticized his way of thinking and how he dressed, she was so outspoken, without caring what he had to say or thought about her opinion, and he was crazy for his first impression of her, as much as he hated to admit it as he'd call 'Love is for posers'. Hobie was sure he was just trying to win her over, to prove a point he'd say, but deep down he loved the way she smiled and shook her head whimsically everytime he'd say something or take time off his schedule to nag her.
It was a few times that she gave Hobie the chance to play with her, to which she soon learnt that he did not know how to read tabs. Of course the punk kid is self-taught. Trying to lead, they would play messy numbers and solos. It was ocasionally just her and Gwen, who had let YN grown onto her sharing her love for girl bands, doing some jamming with their instruments as Hobie payed vague attention. But he would pound on any chance to be alone with her and try to take her out.
She didn't know what was in her that day, but she let him take her out.
He toured her around his universe, before taking her to what he called "his palace".
The small canal boat was ridiculously a very Hobie place to live. If she were to guess, she'd think he lived in a tree somewhere in Birmingham. However it had it's charm, it was very humid and it wobbled when they walked, but it was unique and she loved it. Hobie showed her the collection of things he had stolen, proving himself to be a brilliant thief. He owed most of his 'talent' to his Spider-Sense and speed, but he'd never bring it up.
As she sat on the mattress where he slept in, Hobie picked up one of his records, sitting beside her to show her the signed insides of the vinyl. Her eyes paced from the inscriptions to his face, as he ocasionally caught a glimpse of her through the corner of his eye. He left the vinyl aside to go on about his encounters with the infuential musicians on the area, how he attempted to steal the microphone the Bowie of his dimension had used when he was touring in his city. Her gaze shifting from his eyes to his lips back and forth.
He was hesitant about making a move, afraid he'd mess up what had taken him so much work. But wasn't even given time to think it through before the proximity between them grew, and her hand softly caressed his bony cheek and down to his neck, inviting him to lean into a kiss. As they made out, his cold piercing was quickly warmed by her damp tongue and soft lips that sucked and kissed his. His hands caressed up and down her waist, undoing the buttons on her blouse with his slender fingers as she revealed her naked torso, no bra underneath. YN did her usual hair flip to watch him undress her, and himself, jumping on her once finished to continue what he had briefly interrupted.
"We won't sink, will we?" She asked between soft giggles as the boat quivered at his abrupt movement, Hobie nibbling down her neck and kissing her chest.
"I wank pretty crazy here every night, we won't." He teased before crawling backwards, kissing down her navel.

What are the dynamics between Luigi and each of the Koopalings?
Luigi acts as their nanny/guardian so overall he is pretty close to them and they view him as a second parent (although he doesn't realize this). He is going to be very insecure in his relationship with the koopalings, because he was trained in many things and parenting was not one of them.
The breakdown for each koopaling will be below the Keep Reading as it gets a bit long.
Ludwig: He and Luigi used to be very close when Ludwig was younger. Luigi is the main reason he looks towards negotiating with his enemies before fighting. During the comic however, their relationship is going to be very strained. Ludwig is frustrated that Luigi keeps treating him as a child when he wants to get more involved in fighting and running the kingdom. Due to how Luigi grew up he refuses to let any child (or teen) get involved in bigger issues, he wants them to enjoy their childhood and not feel like they have to solve problems adults have created. This obviously creates quite a bit of arguments between the two, with neither willing to budge.
Morton: Also affectionately known as "Little Guy" by Luigi. These two have the most simplistic relationship. Luigi feels a lot of kinship with Morton as he's also a very emotional and sensitive person. Luigi is one of the few who knows that Morton can be quite cunning, but he worries that people will use his big heart against him. Due to this he unintentionally spoils/babies Morton the most. Morton also likes to help Luigi with his gardening.
Roy and Wendy: I'm including these two together, because from what I recall these two were typically conspiring together (especially in Inside Story). These three are thick as thieves, and often times these two will assist Luigi in some of his ploys. Luigi will often confide in these two if things are going wrong, and they need to prepare as he knows they will keep a level head.
For Roy, Luigi will often have to remind Roy that his younger siblings (especially Junior) aren't trying to annoy him on purpose. They're just young, and to appreciate the time he has with them as they could be gone sooner than expected. The two do butt heads on how to respond to situations as Roy just wants to brute force his way while Luigi wants to find a route of least resistance whether this is through negotiating or stealth.
For Wendy, they both share a love/appreciation for fashion and the dramatics. When Luigi is traveling he will often collect jewels to give to Wendy (of course he will get other gifts for the koopalings if he sees anything he thinks they will like). Wendy is the one he asks to watch over the rest of the koopalings when he knows both he and Bowser are going to be out of the picture for a while.
Iggy: Luigi will never understand Iggy's humor, but he does understand Iggy's machines. Luigi is very impressed by his inventions and planning. Although they both share this interest, Luigi struggles to connect with Iggy overall as he often doesn't understand what he is saying or his jokes, but Luigi will always support him unconditionally and tries his best to do just that. Oftentimes Iggy will join Luigi when he is visiting E. Gadd. Originally, Luigi was hesitant about letting Iggy join in his visits as E. Gadd can sometimes be more focused on testing his inventions than the safety of said testers. But once he realized Iggy would sneak along no matter what he figured better supervised than unsupervised.
Larry: Larry really likes to play against Luigi in different sports and competitions and it is very much a struggle for Luigi. Larry doesn't know just how competitive Luigi can get when playing games. Luigi really has to focus on trying to just have fun and relax instead of solely trying to win. They also enjoy cooking together, although a majority of the time it is just Larry burning down the kitchen while Luigi frantically tries to put out the flames. He is very much a troublemaker, but he is Luigi's trouble maker so he can get away with quite a bit.
Lemmy: Lemmy regularly gives Luigi heart attacks with his magic stunts. He is probably the most mischievous out of the group and enjoys playing pranks on Luigi. Luigi enjoys going to Lemmy's circus shows although when a volunteer is needed he will often suggest someone else take the place of the magician's assistant. There have been many times when Bowser, Kamek, or Kammy suddenly finds themselves signed up for Lemmy's circus act instead of Luigi. He loves watching the shows, but not participating as his heart can only take so much.
Junior: Junior is the other koopaling whose relationship with Luigi will also become quite strained during the comic. The other koopalings know Luigi is just their guardian and that one day he won't be there and as much as they don't like it they're old enough to know that is just how it is. Junior on the other hand very much sees Luigi as his second parent and doesn't understand why he can't stay with them. It causes a lot of friction between the two as Luigi knows that he owes it to his family in Brooklyn to go back, but Junior doesn't understand why he can't leave them in the past. In this, Junior is going to be against Bowser's plan to marry Peach as it means if she becomes his mom, then in his eyes Luigi will finally be able to leave them and that is the last thing he wants. In contrast, Luigi wants Junior to have a different parent other than him, not because he doesn't like Junior, or any of the koopalings, he is just worried that he isn't the best for them and he wants to ensure that they get the best even if that means he isn't in the picture.
#asks#out of all the cast these guys make me the most nervous to write#theres just so many of them#and i want to ensure they feel unique enough while also ensuring they feel like they stick to their general personalities presented in game

Hello guys! I have a new analysis.
The Other POV x Fitz Vacker and Sokeefe.
Yes, Fitz again… Sorry?
“You said you saw her last night, somewhere walking down Main Street”: the moment in the Inquisition when Fitz said Keefe’s name and Sophie’s mind became a boiling sun. Just his name. And she’s troubled.
“and you were surprised that she’s back in town after everything.”: cause yeah, finding Keefe, again and again, after him betraying first then simply escaping, Sophie is surprised. He still comes back.
“Go on, pretend you’re fine, but it’s obvious to me”: all the moments where Sophie felt *something* towards Keefe and denied it, but Fitz always knew his best friend was a confident. It’s obvious to him, even if Sophie pretends there’s nothing.
“I know that she’s the reason why your mind’s changing”: *keuf* emotional cheating of Legacy. The fact that Keefe was there, maybe it’s a part of why Sophitz was so frail. That’s what Fitz thinks at least.
“Guess it was my mistake, got in the way of fate”: Empaths and Telepaths are often matched together. Keefe always made her smile. Sure, Fitz brought her here, but… maybe that’s for the best?
“This is the part I hate”: when Sokeefe kissed and Fitz reaction was hurt. When he realized pieces were falling into place. Without him.
“I’ve seen this movie once or twice, the girl regret losing the guy who thinks he’s moved on but he’s not”: for the amount of times Sokeefe tried to go separate ways. For the fact that, as long as Keefe’s not here, she’s always regretting his presence and thinking of him.
“Everyone sees through his facade”: Tam-Cam, Ro, how it was obvious that Keefe loved Sophie. Except to her.
“And so she’ll call and ask to meet, and you’ll forget all about me”: Fitz’ fear to be erased from the narrative, as so many of their friends were. Cause now, Sokeefe is real, and he’s just… an ex. Sure, Cognates, but it’s not the same when she has a boyfriend.
“She was always who you’d choose, I’m just the other point of view: That could be to Shannon actually. But it’s to Sophie, too. Cause from the start of the series, Sophitz was clashing. The match in Physical Education.
“I always knew I’d be second-best at best”: that is Fitz’ crippling fear, being not enough and getting replaced.
“I always knew she left a big, gaping hole in your chest”: cause there are full weeks where they do not talk, and she’s trying to contact Keefe, and Fitz knows it is hard for her to see him away.
“I always knew about the clothes of hers you kept”: not clothes but Sophie treasures every drawing, and the way Keefe paints Iggy has to stay. So she has memories.
“I always knew that it’d be you two in the end”: maybe not always. But I think that at one point, Fitz did realize that Sokeefe would happen. And before the Inquisition.
“I guess the joke’s on me, stripped of my dignity”: the way he’s blamed for everything, every reaction, and has to hold it together.
“Oh what a sad story…” : yup, Fitz definitely lives in a tragedy. For everything. His world collapsing, his name trashed by his brother’s betrayal, his love story crumbling from the start.
“I’ve seen this movie once or twice, someone gets broken in goodbye”: maybe he saw that happen, not yet fully understanding, when he was in the Forbidden Cities. But mainly. He knows they can’t all escape unscathed, he saw what happened to his sister, he knows the broken heart will be his, cause it always has been as a grew up away.
“Everybody else moves along, don’t even notice that she’s gone”: erm. Fitz Cognate Card stopped working in Stellarlune. Fitz isn’t there. Do we notice? Not much, sadly.
“If that’s my destined role in this, then I already know who wins”: The second they broke up with Sophie, he knew who would win. That, one day or another, Sokeefe would come. Don’t ease the thing, though.
“I was never meant to win your heart”, no just to bring you there, he’s just the passageway.
“I was counted out from the very start”: Exile, first moment where he goes out. Where he screams.
“Really never meant to be such an intruder, if you would’ve been honest I would’ve left sooner”: this is Fitz-like to wonder for hours and hours and hours if she ever truly loved him. He lost sleep over this. He didn’t want to hurt Sophie. Never.
“Living in a story that’s not told for me”: yeah KOTLC ain’t about Fitz. It’s barely anyone, but now… he’s out.
“I’m not the happy ending that they wanna see”: the fact that the fandom mostly shipped Sokeefe for a very, very long time. There were a few Sophitz shippers, but let’s not lie, it was minority. Or way less vocal.
“I’m just the villain built to come between you two”: the portrait of him as bad, rage-filled and fueled, dangerous. He tries not to see this too, but he almost killed his brother. So he thinks, maybe he’s truly a villain, built to antagonize everything, and to be hated…
“I’m just the other point of view”: he’s just the door to another way. Nothing anymore.

OW Fanwork Contest Thank You and Raffle Results!
The first OW fanwork contest officially ended on Friday, so it's time for the results of the final raffle! However, I'd first like to thank each and every person that participated. I honestly can't believe how many people took the time and effort to create something for this contest??? I was a bit overwhelmed. To the point where I mildly regretted saying I'd do prize headshots for every participant as the sheer amount has made it a lot more work than I expected 🤣💦 HOWEVER, I still think it is absolutely amazing that so many people would want to join in the first place and I am humbled and honored by all the amazing fanworks that were created and I'm glad that I can at least give back something to everyone even to those who don't win the final raffle 💕
Some random stats before I get to the winners:
42 total participants
42 headshot prizes (30 drawn so far)
44 total raffle entries (2 people submitted 2 works)
41 pieces of fanart
2 pieces of writing
1 fan game
Also I thought it'd be interesting to do a breakdown for how often each char appeared in a fanwork (including in group/multi shots):
Iggy (22)
Orlam (18)
Genzou (17)
Gidget (or Ghent) (17)
Bucks (6)
Jerry (2)
Cecil (1)
And now for the final raffle!!!!!! For the raffle, I used spinthewheel.io (I just looked up on Google for online choice wheel pickers). I put the 42 names of everyone who submitted in, and then also additional entries for the 2 people that submitted two pieces, for a total of 44 entries. Also I styled the wheel to look very autumn-y LOL Then... I spun it for the first time!!!
Tadah! The first winner is... @awalum !!!
Then, I removed awalum's name and spun the wheel again...!!!!
Wahoo!! The second winner is... @alaluea !!!
Congratulations to both winners!!
Please fill out this winner commission form to send me the details about the piece you'd like me to draw! All further correspondence will be through email so I can keep it very professional!
And that's it!! I still have a lot of headshots to do, as well (two more batches of six lol 🤣💦). I will continue to work on them in November along with the raffle prizes.
Thank you again everyone so much for all the amazing fanworks through this last month and a half! I had so much fun and was really honored by everyone's submissions. I'd love to do another contest sometime again in the future!! 💕
(also if you haven't sent me who you want for your headshot yet, please do!!)

Mayhaps some thoughts on Valentine?
Oh, dear valentine... so mysterious... and the weight of being the perfect, gentle showman is such a heavy burden to bear...
Val is fascinating to me, because even though theres so much we don't know about what he really wants, really feels, really thinks, because most of his screentime is on the sidelines in an obviously staged persona, theres a lot of interesting inferences we can make from what he says when he breaks character, doesnt break character, or expresses his (oft-ignored) agency, but, with so many details missing, I am forced to turn to thematic analysis and context clues to fill in the blanks. I say forced as though I dont love doing this shit lmao
Val's occasional awkward fumbling breaks with his presenter persona lead me to assume hes that flavor of theater kid thats sort of... reserved, passive, awkward, almost shy in their personal life until they're onstage, where they Come Alive before the crowd, but also, hes presented in his introductory episode as a man who 'walks directly into explosions just to see if he can survive them.' contradiction between the private and public self, risk and spectacle and, of course, performance are important things to consider when evaluating Val. He wants to put on a good show for the people, after all! Talented and radiant and powerful and good, Val is an instant hit with the audience- and Val puts his body on the line trying to 'save the day' in a very risky move, a shady deal with a shady being with shady terms. Keep in mind Crimson really hadnt done anything REAL bad at this point- a little theft, a little homewrecking, his greatest crime we saw was being kinda spooky, really.
We don't hear the terms of Val and Crimson's bet, their discussion of the terms entirely held through crimson's ability for psychic communication, but we do see the result. Valentine looked at the quiet, eldritch thing Crimson began as, and wagered his body as Crimson's prize. Crimson wins, a gentleman keeps his word, and the Captain Crimson era begins. It isn't long before theres reason to regret his choice, although the Grunk's death wasn't something Crimson exactly wanted to happen either. Captain Crimson, given the privilege of choosing who in the tie at the bottom of top 8 gets to move on to the next part of what was supposed to be a two part tournament, the Grunk is shortly after found dead. Val remains in Crimson's thrall for another several months, Team Crimson formed amid the hiatus's offscreen chaos.
I think a feeling of guilt in the situation hes avoiding does haunt him. He claims little memory of his time as Captain Crimson, but the Grunk certainly seems to blame him some, even saying that 'at least hes not dead this time,' when Val successfully defends his championship from the Grunk. And hes in good company! Culpable in the Grunk's Death Club: Crimson (oops!) Hamhel (catalyst for both his and his killer's presence at the tournament,) Val (unintentional accomplice to manslaughter) Larry, Iggy and Chartreuse (knowingly complicit for timeloop reasons!)
Which adds some layers to Val breaking from his professionalism and stage persona a bit in 23's intros to express Intense Concern with J0hn's puppeteering of a murderer and VERY POINTEDLY bringing up the Grunk's own murder charges, audibly upset by the Grunk explicitly taking pride in them, he's clearly pretty disturbed by it- although he never pushes too hard against the tournament's regular function, even when it would be pretty fair to. One must remember the P. Rool Arc- the tournament is not an unquestionable arbiter of good or fairness, the tournament's rules are not unbreakable impartial tenets of the universe but the personal, often petty, choices of a jesterly godking, a TURTLE in a CLOWNCAR, and so going along with them is, within their world, a choice that all the characters are making! Everyone in the cast is, for better or worse, somewhat complicit in the tournament's failings, at least as much as any one actor who willingly works under a questionable director or in a questionable industry, if that makes sense. Technically, Valentine's championship was won at Plum's expense. Valentine participated- alongside an assortment of other fighters, including Rights Sentience, a so-called sentinel of that which is good and right- in the group free-for-all to take P. Rool's win away from him, and happened to come out on top. Relevant information to recall on P. Rool Day.
And, also relevantly to 23, he's pretty disturbed by Quad too, as we see in his introduction in 17. I think Quad is critical to understanding what Val's got going on under the surface- of the clones, theyre pretty explicitly the most directly similar from base to clone, and ive said it before and ill say it again, the thing Ryan's said about Quad and Val thats stuck with me characterization-wise is that 'Val is like a rollercoaster, Quad is like skydiving.' Rollercoasters are a thrill, with ups and downs and twists and turns but a careful calculation for safe results along a planned path, placing an implicit trust in the engineers who designed it for you to enjoy, although the controls are left out of your hands, and so when something goes wrong all you can do is wait for it to be over and hope noone gets hurt. Skydiving is throwing yourself directly to the whims of the world and letting go for a very INTENSE and STRAIGHTFORWARD thrill, running on the often CAREFULLY CONFIRMED trust that your parachute will work and with direct, conscious, personal control over when it deploys. I think of how Val often rolls with the tournaments decisions despite his misgivings, often seemingly not even informed until DAY OF what he'll be dealing with, and I think of how Quad was part of the first forfeit in tournament history and on another occasion caught just a whiff of horseshit and marched right up to god and beat her ass. Quad is like Val without the tact, the nuance, the subterfuge, like Val if you intentionally distilled and intensified him to the point of parody, and in the process, boiled out all the subtleties and passivity.
The natural instinct to compare Crimson and Val's relationship during Val's possession and Quad and Order's is... I think not EXACTLY wrong, but I don't think it's one-to-one at all. If Quad is, thematically, like Val with all the subtleties and nuance (not to say quad is UNnuanced because of course he is, but like. yknow what i mean in this context) wrung out, then maybe the intensity and circumstances of the awfulness of Quad and Order's relationship is a much more black-and-white case, but the baseline dynamic was similar? Just. Greyer. More complicated. Less extreme. Another all-take and little-to-no-give relationship between a controlling person and someone only wanted and valued by them in the first place as a useful, disposable tool in the pursuit of their own desires, who was never really all that interested in them personally as anything more than that, because at the end of the day they always wanted something or someone else, until someone else gets rid of the taker, and the giver is left alone to reevaluate things in their absence. But i suppose we already knew that. Another difference of course being they were two people who happened to collide for a while by chance and made regrettable choices, while Quad was born and designed with the purpose of being used. (And, of course, got to overcome that.)
Considering other Crimson'd folks were very much able to dispel Crimson from their bodies when they didnt want him there anymore, Hamhel 'defecting' offscreen, Chessmaster casting it off with all the casualness of flexing muscle, when they had come to some kind of epiphany and wanted to better themselves, while Val needed to have it dragged out of him by force, and even, in a moment of weakness and spite in response to the humiliation of Dani's Rat Stunt may have even considered taking crimson BACK if jay's speculation about val's feelings after the exorcism in 11 holds weight... its... interesting. And while they're plenty professionally friendly, I do think theres potentially some... lasting resentment, between him and Dantoinette in the mix, too. She did not need to rub his face in losing to the rat, and that could just be a dani-typical weak-filter shit-talk moment. But he did not need to bring up the bear. and Val's usually more careful than that.
Val lost a bet. They were together for months. They had to have developed some kind of dynamic and rapport in that time. While he absolutely was a controlling asshole, even just by nature of How Possession Literally Works, there isnt much reason to assume crimson was uniquely cruel to Val in their relationship compared to his other partnerships, and most folks who were possessed for more than a day came out of that relationship rightfully hating his ass and not wanting to be around him but not like. Life-Wreckingly Transformed by Him or anything. He's not an abuser, hes not that kind of evil. hes your dickhead ex that brought out the worst in you, he's the sketchy mp3 downloader thats BEGGING for you to let him install viruses, he's the best employee at a scam company. Crimson is just as disgusted by people like Prism or the Doc as anybody else reasonable. He's just a selfish, negative, dirtbag asshole thats rebellious for the sake of it and pressures you into and gives you excuses to pursue bad ideas- both his and your own, and living vicariously through those he controls to escape his circumstances and get to be anybody but who and what he actually is for a while, and Val was perfect for that. He 'got what he needed' by 'being' him. Vibrant, beloved by the crowd and community, comfortable in front of the camera, seemingly so confident warm and happy despite everything, so in control of his own destiny, at least in theory. The heartless coveting that which he cannot have. Val reduced more than once to an idealized object on a pedestal. The perfect man, and a being that from certain perspectives might barely qualify as a person at all- he certainly didnt present himself as one to start with. Hell, hes still imitating Val just a bit trying to play presenter in his stead in Orange.
BUT. All that being said. Order isn't what Val chooses to compare his time with Crimson to, in a rare instance we see of him actually trying to talk about it. No. His choice of comparison is a different object of Val's disdain- Cupid. Heartbreak and Cupid.
Heartbreak and Cupid are friends. and Heartbreak does say he WANTS to find someone that meets his romantic standards- but Cupid begins to push through his boundaries, FORCING it, making this OVERWHELMING UNASKED FOR SPECTACLE out of his issues on live broadcast, and when he decides he DOESNT want to pursue it actively anymore, Cupid refuses to back down from trying, because he DID want it and Cupid doesnt want him to Give Up on what he wants, but the reality is Heartbreak just found some peace with being by himself and doesn't want it so bad anymore, but Cupid seemingly wont take him at his word that he's genuinely just changed his mind. Tempered expectations, mistaken for lost hope. And it pisses heartbreak off so much that at least when the wound's fresh he doesn't even want to look at the color pink.
Val made a bet. We didnt see the terms. Val, in contrast with his perfect gentlemanly persona, flirts with villainy from time to time- quite literally in the case of his exchange with Dr. Order at the start of 16 before Quad was made, sometimes less literally and more subtly complicit with the tournament's less than perfect ethics record, nobody's perfect, no exceptions, not even the perfect man is unflawed- but never truly falls from grace again after his time with Crimson, while using the same cunning and subterfuge the god of treachery employs in facing challenges and claiming advantages all the same. Tempered subversion, mistaken for submission to conformity. And Crimson's presence is enough to make Val just want to stay home.
Am i cooking or is this nothing? YOU decide!
#im sure as soon as i post this#ill see a billion problems with my wording or remember something im missing but ive spent too long on this hsjfsjgdjgdjdg#cpu kerfuffle#its Interesting. its Interesting and theres A Lot Going On There and All Of Its So Vague.

A Little Crossover
| Versión en español |
((This is a small crossover between my versions of the koopalings and the versions of @thekoopalingsandstuffs. My kids will be highlighted in purple and hers will be in pink. I hope you like it. The drawings are made by me))
____________
Bowsy: hey, hi, you must be like me, great!!
Junie: Hello, how are you? I'm Bowser Jr., but you can call me 'Junie'
Bowsy: nice to meet you, you can call me 'Bowsy'
Junie: cute nickname
Bowsy: thank you, that's what one of my friends nicknamed me and I really liked it.
Junie: They must be good friends.
Bowsy: oh yeah! Of course, my brother Larry is the one I spend the most time with, and even though we get into arguments, we get along very well in general.
Junie: how envious! My stepbrother Larry can't stand me, as do some of my other stepbrothers.
Bowsy: oh, really?
Junie: yep. But luckily I get along well with others. Ludwig was the first to give me a chance, as was Lemmy, being the one I had the best time playing with, It's fun. Roy and Iggy like me too
Bowsy: well, it's something (giggles) I like you, I don't understand how anyone could hate you
Junie: Thanks, Bowsy.
Bowsy: (giggles) Hey, would you like to play something? What do you like to play?
Junie: I like ‘Battle Ship’, I play that a lot with Lemmy
Bowsy: great!! Dad just bought me that a few days ago, do you want to play?
Junie: Sure.
Bowsy: and then we could go to my workshop to draw and color. My friend Mykey got me some very beautiful colors and I want to try them out
Junie: I would love to!! Although I'm not good at drawing, I find it fun (giggles)
Bowsy: That's the spirit, Junie (giggles) By the way, how old are you?
June: 6 years old
Bowsy: aww so cute, I'm 11
Junie: Wow, you're bigger even though we're almost the same height.
Bowsy: (putting his right hand on his back and raising his left arm) If it's any consolation, I'm taller than Lemmy (giggles)
____________
Larry: so you're like me. I am 12 years old and you?
Larry: 10
Larry: tell me, do you like video games?
Larry: even the question offends, of course it does!! And let me tell you that I am very good at Fortnite
Larry: oh yeah, I've heard that game, but it doesn't catch my attention
Larry: really? And what games do you like?
Larry: Super Strike Bros.
Larry: I've never heard that one, what's it about?
Larry: oh my, my… you're missing out on something really good. Let me show you what it's all about…
(Moments later)
Larry: and what did you think?
Larry: Looks amazing!! Maybe later I'll give it a chance.
Larry: yes, yes!!
Larry: okay, okay. Only where I'm from that game doesn't exist.
Larry: well come over here and play it with me
Larry: I'd like to
Larry: I like that game because I can also play it with my best friend, Bobby, and my younger brother, Jr.
Larry: at least you have someone to play it with. Of my siblings, almost no one wants to be with me
Larry: any reason?
Larry: I don't know, everyone ignores me except Morton, he's very cool, the ONLY cool one of them all
Larry: I used to admire my brother Ludwig, but now I hate him
Larry: what a coincidence! I hate my brother Ludwig too, all because he chose my favorite color wand.
Larry: In my case it's because he caused me to fracture my wrist.
Larry: oh! Many people make bad jokes on me. I once had my butt set on fire, that's why I have a scar there.
Larry: oh wow...
Larry: It wouldn't be the only time. Many times they put pins in my chair, or glue, paint… or even burning ash… you can't imagine how much that hurt. I'm already used to it and that's why I prefer to be alone in my room playing
Larry: It's bad that you go through that, but you know? If you want you can come here and play with me, not only video games, also tennis
Larry: I… I’d love that very much.
Larry: and if you want we can play Fortnite a little, it is better to play in a group than alone
Larry: It's a deal, but know that I'm very good, and if I win I'll do the dance
Larry: whatever you say, but in SSB I will beat you without a doubt (putting both hands on his neck)
Larry: we'll see, it's a challenge (pointing up)
____________
Morton: (seeing someone enters the door) WELCOME... (notes little visiting Morton) HELLO! (whispers) oh, right… hello, nice to meet you. This is Morton (covers his mouth)
Morton: what? I can’t hear you
Morton: (uncovering his mouth and whispering) it's just that... Morton screams and doesn't want to make anyone uncomfortable.
Morton: don't worry, it doesn't bother me
Morton: THANK YOU… FEEL WELCOME
Morton: I will. Thank you very much
Morton: (offers some cookies with jam to his partner) THESE ARE MY FAVORITES, I HOPE YOU LIKE THEM
Morton: thanks (eats them) oh, wow... that's where they come from
Morton: HAVE YOU ALREADY TRIED THEM?
Morton: Yes, occasionally I and my siblings get these cookies in the mail. They are delicious
Morton: A FRIEND MAKES THEM, HE ALWAYS GIVES THEM TO US WHEN WE FEEL SAD
Morton: great! I like to eat, so much so that I have learned to cook many things. My brothers like my preparations
Morton: SOUNDS INTERESTING. DO YOU HAVE A RECIPE BOOK?
Morton: yes, they gave me some, but… it's not like I can use them
Morton: THAT’S WHY?
Morton: (he puts his hands on his back looking down) ……. I have dyslexia
Morton: WHAT IS THAT?
Morton: in short, it is difficult for me to read and write, I am 12 years old and it is too difficult for me, my brothers or someone else helps me with that...
Morton: OH... WELL, I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU FEEL... MORTON NEVER LEARNED TO READ OR WRITE, OR EVEN SPEAK, THAT'S WHY HE SCREAMS, AND HE'S 13 YEARS OLD.
Morton: then we are not that different
Morton: AT LEAST YOU UNDERSTAND ME (giggles)
Morton: (giggles) you’re very nice.
Morton: THANK YOU (blushing) AND WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE TO DO?
Morton: Well, I like to paint landscapes. At home I have some very nice canvases that I have painted.
Morton: DO YOU WANT TO PAINT SOME?
Morton: Yes, I would like to, but where do I get a canvas and paint?
Morton: DON'T WORRY, I'LL BE CONCERNED (giggles and leaves)
(After a moment, Morton arrives with painting materials)
Morton: I GOT THIS FOR JR., YOU CAN PAINT WHATEVER YOU WANT
Morton: Wow, that's great!
Morton: MORTON WILL ACCOMPANY YOU WITH SOME COOKIES
(After a while, the Morton painter finishes and raises his brush)
Morton: how is it going?
Morton: (thumbs up while he eats cookies) IT LOOKS AMAZING
____________
Wendy: Hello, dear. Welcome
Wendy: hello, how are you?
Wendy: Fine. So you are like me
Wendy: It seems so. Well, we both look divine
Wendy: we agree on that. I'm the only girl here; you already know how difficult it is to find a moment of peace
Wendy: you’re right. Almost all of my brothers are a pain, especially Iggy, but luckily I put them in their place when they get on my nerves, which would be almost always.
Wendy: and what do you do about it?
Wendy: I kick them “there”, you know, although more with Roy, Iggy and Larry, the others make me feel a little sorry, I'm not such a beast
Wendy: if I'm honest, sometimes I would like to fix everything with violence, but my nails would be ruined, with how difficult it is to maintain them
Wendy: good point.
Wendy: you know? It's nice to talk to someone who listens.
Wendy: yeah, don't get used to it; it's not that I'm very sociable so to talk. I prefer to be on my cell phone
Wendy: yes, I understand you. Would you like something to drink?
Wendy: since you mention it, I’d like strawberry lemonade, very acidic the way I like it.
Wendy: okay, give me a moment. Feel comfortable
(Ten minutes later)
Wendy: (taking a sip) and as I said, at 13 and a half years old I have hit Roy more than a hundred times, it is very de-stressing
Wendy: (taking a sip of her blackberry lemonade) and how did you do that?
Wendy: because he told me that men are stronger than women, but I proved to him that a man cannot bleed for seven days in a row unlike us (laughs) so I kicked him “there” and it's not like he resisted any longer ten minutes with the pain. Since then he stopped being so stupid with me.
Wendy: I guess that was a good lesson. I am very polite and feminine, but if someone gets on my nerves, I get angry and attack. At 14 I already give myself respect.
Wendy: you tell them, sis (giggles)
____________
Iggy: so we are equivalent, huh?
Iggy: I guess so, but you're taller. You are older?
Iggy: I guess. I’m 14
Iggy: so, you're younger, I'm 15
Iggy: well you don't look that old, but at least we are similar
Iggy: It doesn't matter how old we are, at least I found someone just as crazy as me
Iggy: what do you mean?
Iggy: you know, like a mad scientist and with the strangest occurrences
Iggy: well, something like that.
Iggy: do you like energy drinks? I do and I drink them at night before sleeping next to Roy
Iggy: no, they make me sick. I drank one as a child and didn't stop feeling sick to my stomach for three days. I usually drink more coffee
Iggy: oh well
Iggy: but at least I still like to get into mischief
Iggy: oh, and what kind of mischiefs? I feel curious
Iggy: nothing, mostly creating bombs and traps mechanisms, and sometimes my siblings fall into it, Ludwig and Roy more. Lemmy is the one who falls the most (laughs)
Iggy: ow, I thought you would be more daring
Iggy: for example...?
Iggy: I don't know, that you had an affair with a boy, things like that
Iggy: nah, I like girls, and I already had a bad experience because of one of my brothers. I take things easy
Iggy: meh, how boring. I am gay and I am excited to meet more people. Right now I'm with someone, but things haven't progressed much. We even went to a funeral together and there was nothing, it was the most boring
Iggy: What did you expect?
Iggy: well… nah, forget it. What else do you have? Do you have a pet? I have an adorable girl called Nibbles, the cutest Chain Chomp there is.
Iggy: I also have a pet Chain Chomp, he is male and his name is Charlie
Iggy: that's great, if he had known he would have brought my girl so they could meet
Iggy: It would be a good idea, bring it next time. She is welcome. Do you know how to behave?
Iggy: of course, he only has “accidents” if he hears loud noises
Iggy: I understand
Iggy: well, how about we go find a boy? (stands on one foot in a feminine manner and moves his tail, placing his hands in a heart shape)
Iggy: I'll accompany you, but I don't promise to find anything interesting (shrugs and sticks out his tongue)
____________
Roy: oh, here we have another guy with good taste in fashion
Roy: oh, hello!
Roy: how are you? (hugs his counterpart) oh, sorry, it was unintentional...
Roy: nah, it doesn't bother me. I find it very adorable. My brothers usually hug me too, other kids too.
Roy: I imagine you are very lovable
Roy: You have no idea. Many girls have fallen for my charms, but there is one who has left me in awe, a bunny named Harriet... but lately things haven't been going very well. On the other hand, her brother has comforted me like a great friend.
Roy: friend? Maybe it's something more than that
Roy: I don't think so; I'm straight, as far as I know (looks away confused)
Roy: (shrugs) you would be surprised, but don't worry, I know how insecure you can feel, you know, things in life.
Roy: It's true. I'm almost out of school and I still don't know what to do with my life.
Roy: there are two of us now. Wait a minute, are you almost done with school? Well, how old are you?
Roy: already 18 years old, you?
Roy: fifteen
Roy: oh wow, I thought you were the oldest of all just like me, because of how strong you look
Roy: oh, well thanks but no. I'm one of the oldest, so I got in shape to protect my brothers
Roy: Indeed. I already left my time as a bully behind, now I want to be the example to follow, even if Wendy continues to hit me “there”, you know…
Roy: ouch... well, I was a bully too, I felt insecure about what others thought of me, but now I'm different, more or less, because according to Jr.'s words, I'm still a mastodon, but one in which can trust (laughs)
Roy: well, I barely know you, but I feel like I can trust you
Roy: thanks, I say the same about you
(both do a fist bump)
____________
Lemmy: oh, another Lemmy
Lemmy: What's up?
Lemmy: everything is calm, and you?
Lemmy: I don't know. I got here. I guess we are the same
Lemmy: apparently yes. Tell me what you like?
Lemmy: I like movies in Russian, bats and knives, in fact I have a lot of these
Lemmy: oh my, that sounds interesting, scary and curious
Lemmy: a little, and what about you?
Lemmy: I like rainbows, balloons, circus shows, but most of all big rubber balls. I like to climb on them to feel high
Lemmy: Yeah, I guess they're great when you're a kid. I'm 6 years old, but I find that a little corny.
Lemmy: (shrugs) there are those who enjoy it regardless of age. I'm 15 years old and I still like childish things.
Lemmy: that's what I'm talking about, only children enjoy that and... w-wait... y-you're 15 years old??!! Really??
Lemmy: yes, I'm serious. I love these things, no matter how “corny” they may sound.
Lemmy: oh… I didn't expect that, but you don't look like a teenager even though you're my brother Iggy's age.
Lemmy: yeah, many tell me the same thing, they have even told me that I look like the youngest of my brothers. At first that detail bothered me, but over time I started to don't care. Now I am who I am and I enjoy the things that make me happy, just like you with your knives
Lemmy: (takes a knife out of his pocket and looks at it) ………… yes, I understand you
Lemmy: would you like to join me and swing on a rubber ball?
Lemmy: well, I... yeah, why not?
(Both take out their wands and summon a rubber ball, standing up and lifting one foot to balance)
Lemmy: this is so funny
Lemmy: right? The advantage of being light is that you have better balance (he crosses his eyes, looking in opposite directions and sticking out his tongue)
Lemmy: you're right (smiles as he swings)
____________
Ludwig: okay, you must be the Ludwig from that time. Be welcome to my home
Ludwig: th-thank you, I… I'm very happy to see you again
Ludwig: oh yeah?
Ludwig: yes! You are nice and taller
Ludwig: nah, just a little. I'm 16. When you're older you'll reach this height.
Ludwig: I… I'm 17
Ludwig: oh, really? I did not expect it
Ludwig: (shrugs) things in life, I guess.
Ludwig: well, sorry if that bothered you. The truth is that I have not been very sociable and I still find it difficult
Ludwig: Don't worry, everything is fine. After all, Roy treats me very lovingly. He is one of my favorite brothers
Ludwig: how envious, I used to have a favorite brother, but we fought and now we haven't talked again
Ludwig: oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope things work out
Ludwig: (sighs) me too but I can't force it. He told me that he preferred someone more as a brother than me.
Ludwig: yes, I know what you're saying. My brother Larry doesn't want to make peace with me even though I have wanted to get closer to him many times, but nothing. On the contrary, he usually makes fun of me, that I am fat or about my more… personal problems.
Ludwig: Like which ones?
Ludwig: uh…
Ludwig: You can trust me, I won't tell anyone. And if you tell me, I can tell you a secret of mine
Ludwig: o-okay... (takes a deep breath, somewhat nervously) I have problems with urinary incontinence and... (starts to shake a little) it has given me many moments of embarrassment. Everything gets worse when I feel a little nervous or stressed, especially because of a lot of things that have happened in the last two months. Luckily almost all my brothers accept me as I am... except Larry
Ludwig: (sighs) it seems like both Larrys are a complete nuisance (shrugs)
Ludwig: so it's your Larry that you get along with badly?
Ludwig: yes, and he's not the only one, but he's the one who hurt me the most
Ludwig: I understand…
Ludwig: well, I'll tell you a secret, but promise not to tell anyone
Ludwig: musician's word
Ludwig: well... (whispers to him) listen: there is a boy with purple hair who is very friendly, but I am not convinced by his complete friendship and I think he is hiding something...
Ludwig: okay...?
Ludwig: well… I'm having a little crush on him, but I'm not sure. He has me a little confused and it's not supposed to be like that. He is a little older than me and he happens to be your age. This sensation is quite strange and sometimes it doesn't let me sleep.
Ludwig: oh yes. I know that. A year ago I also felt like this, until with the help of my brothers I came out of the closet and declared myself to someone.
Ludwig: and what happened next?
Ludwig: well, first I told him about my problems and even with that he accepted me
Ludwig: I see
Ludwig: don't worry, your secret is safe with me (giggles) but if I'm honest... if you like that boy, you should meet him, spend time with him and leave your prejudices aside. It's just a little advice between Ludwigs
Ludwig: (blushing slightly) y-yes, th-thank you...
Ludwig: in any case, I am not an expert either, but know that you have my support, as they gave me at the time.
Ludwig: I thank you very much. You know? You are quite nice and tender. I would like you to visit me again another time. Maybe there I'll tell you how he went with... what I told you (laughs) although I don't promise that everything will go so well (he places his hands on his waist and smiles slightly)
Ludwig: (blushing with his hands behind his back) whenever you like (giggles)

teehee I'm sending you an ask about the OurSwap au :3
this has been on my mind but how do you think frisk would interact with some of the other cast lmao like what would the others think of this random kid just kinda being there and kinda vibing lmao.
Depends on the cast but, roughly, more or less
Iggy: unfortunately wouldn’t have the chance to interact(bc he’s in Undertale as simultaneously as Frisk is in ow)
Genzou: already mentioned in a post ill try to link it idk
Gidget: I think would actually go swimmimgly. Like the scenario would go by so much more smoothly and less traumatically purely because Iggy’s just not there to set Gidget off. There’s still like, going to be anger and denial but I think the very fact that Frisk themselves in enby would help Gidget come to their realisation faster :)
Orlam: I’m the most unsure about/would make the least impact. I think it would thwart his attempts to harm Genzou atleast a little because. Well as much as a little kooky Orlam becomes under the Wonderland’s influence I don’t think he would torture/kill a kid?? Or maybe he would, I can’t be sure since he is implied to be eating the villagers from the town near his castle, and we don’t know whether that includes the children too(though id like to think it doesnt). Best case scenario I can think of is him trying to simply offer Frisk a luxurious place to stay kinda like how he did with Iggy, but in this case it would be more just to get them away from+to forget Genzou so that he can torture and kill him in peace. The reason I came up with this idea is mostly because it would be like a twisted mirror of how Toriel tries to offer Frisk an idealistic place to stay aswell, also being (former) royalty
Bucks: be it pre or post Arc 5 transformation, I’m relatively sure Frisk could handle it? I mean ofc they would eventually because the power to reset and keep trying until things work but, they already dealt with Asgore who was pretty similar. Then again, Asgore didn’t actually want to kill them and moreso felt obligated to so things could be different in that aspect. As I mentioned in another post, Frisk being a kid would either work in their favour(making Bucks hesitate because 1. Literally a kid and 2. Already guilty from killing her own) or detriment(it is HIGHLY suggested in ow that Bucks’ anger issues get triggered by children, though perhaps since Frisk is often presented as a quiet sort of kid this would help their situation)
Jerry(Arc 5, atleast): knowing what is shown in-game, I think he’d be just a lil abrasive but I think his paternal side would win out on the account of Frisk being a kid. It would probably remind him of when the rest of the ow cast were kids on their first time in wonderland. Frisk would probably first be icked out hearing his name(undertale reference, if ykyk), but upon finding out he is literally a anthropomorphic fluffy bunny they would be DELIGHTED, because like, that’s how alot of the monsters in undertale look(like anthropomorphised animals), especially Toriel and Asgore who they consider adoptive parents so yeah :33 With him being similar to a royal guard I think that Frisk would have a very similar relationship to him as they do with like a mix of Undyne and Papyrus
Hunar: doesn’t appear in Wonderland so…probably for the best, actually. I think Frisk might remind him of Saydie :<
Cecil: ill be so honest idek. He doesn’t seem like the type to like children, but I dont think he HATES them. (Projecting lmao) I think he’s the type to try to be nice to kids while internally screaming because he just gets a little irked out and annoyed by them. I think he’d be like a weird mix of proud, glad, relieved but maybe just a lil jealous/befuddled that a literal kid got through to Gidget about their identity issues before he did lmao

Very short, very sad, little CjIzzy one-shot
(context:
and a twist of the knife:
>:'3c)
'D'you think we could have talked Steve around?' Jack says into the back of Izzy's neck, where his face has been pressed for hours now. Wasn't anywhere else he'd rather have it right now. . . Izzy's tits aside at least.
Izzy snorts. 'Not if you keep calling him "Steve" we wouldn't.'
'Look man, I'm still not over the "Iggy" thing, not like you got over it either.'
Izzy laughs a quick huff. Then makes one of those quiet contemplative noises he does when he's feeling maudlin. Then says: 'Feels wrong to hold it against him now. Considering. Don't feel right holding grudges when we're going to-'
'Don't. Please. I. I know we're- I know. But just. Don't say it Iz. I don't want to hear you say it.' Jack begs, clinging to Izzy like a vice despite they exhaustion he must be feeling. Izzy reaches a shaking hand back and cards his fingers through Jack's hair.
'Alright Jack. Alright.'
They're quiet for a while after that, the only sounds around them are the quiet shufflings and soft sounds of nature going on in the night, untouched by - or maybe even benefiting from - all of humanity being brought to it's knees. Just nature and their combined labored breathing. Their hearts beating so loud despite everything.
'Do-' Jack sniffs, 'Do you think. . . D'you think we would have made it?' Izzy can count on one mangled foot how many times he's heard Jack sound so. . . small. He wishes he were like Edward. Able to spin everything into a positive, make it seem like a win. Or like Stede. Waxing poetic about their place in the universe and how all things that are meant to be will happen. Wishes he were someone who could comfort Jack instead of himself. But he knows that's not what Jack wants right now. Knows he wouldn't have asked if he didn't want Izzy to answer.
Izzy sighs. 'This was. . . always a possibility. It's. dangerous. How we were living. We got. . . comfortable.' Izzy turns over, wasting energy he doesn't have to spare, but he doesn't care. He needs to be looking at Jack. Needs Jack looking at him. 'I don't. I don't know.' He says, cupping Jack's cheeks. Cradling his face in trembling hands. 'Odds were never in our favor.'
Jack shuts his eyes against the tears that spill from them. Nods. Then opens them again, he doesn't want to be looking at anything but Izzy right now either.
'But,' Izzy says, blinking back the tears pricking his own eyes, 'we would have had each other. We do have each other. We-' the sob sneaks up on him. Jack pulls him closer, lets him hide his face in the crook of his neck, rocks him a little bit. Lets him cry and cry and cries with him too. And when they're cried out he lets Izzy pull back to look him in the eye again, loves him impossibly more when he says: 'We've got each other. They'll have each other until it's time for them to follow along. We. We won't make it here. But we can make way for them when they come after us.'
Jack kisses him then. Lets that be the last thing he remembers, over everything that happens after.

Do any of the RO’s enjoy drinking alcohol? If so, what kind of alcohol? Are they a lightweight or can they drink someone under the table?
Iggy you know I don't drink much so answering this is gonna be hard but I'LL DO MY BEST
Harlowe
He's not exactly a light weight but he isn't an alcohol connoisseur, either. If someone challenges him to a drinking contest, he's gonna do his best to win and will try to hide how drunk he is until he gets home (or somewhere safe). At that point, mans is probably puking his guts up and passing out. Good news, though: he doesn't typically suffer from massive hangovers!! Genetics did good there. I think his favorite types of alcohol would be stuff like whiskey, mead, or rum.
Florence
Lightweight and she knows it. She also has really bad hangovers in the morning. She prefers fruit cocktails, but is down for vodka or tequila shots after she's at least decently tipsy. She'll order a glass of wine or champagne to go with her dinner when out at restaurants.
Eden
Sorry to disappoint, but Eden doesn't drink alcohol. He's never liked the taste and it's really hard for him to get past it. I think he'd probably drink socially, though. Like a fruity margarita at a Mexican restaurant for someone's birthday or something.
Aena

Pancakes Household: Chapter 7, Part 1
Meet my version of the iconic Sims 4 Pancake household. My version of Bob and Eliza are happy. Bob affectionately calls Eliza Jumble, while she calls him Sleek, the opposites of their neat and slob natures. Iggy is their eldest son, their youngest is Fergus. Dale has been Bob's dog since he was a puppy. Highlights include Iggy working on his scouting badges, Fergus having friends over, and Bob getting an interesting work offer.
On a rainy last day of spring the next Pancake rotation begins. It is bittersweet. Dale who the family have had since he was a puppy is nearing the end of his time here, so will be receiving many hugs, snuggles and treats. Bob will likely find it most difficult as Dale helped him get fit and healthy
Eldest kid Iggy may be a preteen but that doesn't stop him waking up with a wiggly tooth. A bookworm, who has already competed his Artistic Prodigy aspiration, he is now working on becoming a level 5 scout.
Youngest, Fergus, has had less luck. He managed to roll the Proper Trait accompanied by the Juvenile Delinquent aspiration (pull 40 pranks). The counter keeps resetting so I doubt he will make it. At least he has evil friend Kelly to pull mischief with.
Both parents love their sons but Bob wants a daughter. Though not actively trying, Eliza has stopped birth control. While she doesn't mind the idea of another kid she is focused on climbing the corporate ladder, already having made Vice President. Bob is an Executive Chef, almost at his life goal.
At this point in time the Pancakes family are close knit. They made it through Iggy's weird bear phase, and with Fergus being proper, things seem to be going smoothly. Bob has learned to clean the kitchen and Eliza has learned clothes don't always need to make it to the hamper.
Bob: Are you... cleaning dishes
Fergus: Yeah
Bob: Don't be a neat freak now
Fergus: Dad, if I don't clean Mother will get mad
Bob: Oh yeah, well better that you clean them than me
Fergus: Dad! You're meant to be the adult
Bob: What? Kidding, mostly
Fergus goes to play on the computer while Bob bakes
Since Bob has work tasks to do before his shift today, Eliza takes Dale out. While he did many jogs in his younger years she doesn't want to push him, so they go for a leisurely stroll. It may be raining but Dale doesn't care. Walks are full of interesting smells to be explored.
While the fudge bars are baking, Bob thinks. He has to improve his baking and gourmet cooking to be promoted but also reach 3 star fame. How? Obviously a TV chef has to be well known to get a TV show. He's always been a loner. Does he have what it takes to try? Or will he just embarrass himself?
After his shower, Iggy checks the scouting board. He only has 2 badges left. The Outdoor Adventurer badge, and the Keep Fit badge. It's raining pretty hard at the moment, so he decides to do his homework before venturing outdoors. Being a bookworm, he loves homework.
After Bob cooks a gourmet dish, and has too much fun playing with knives, Dale and Eliza are back. Eliza does some cleaning and Bob calls Dale over to the couch. There they have some cuddly guy time. With time Bob has become a dog lover, and finds few things more comforting than a friendly lick.
The rain hasn't stopped but Iggy won't be deterred from working on his badges. He heads out in his raincoat to harvest some wild growing plants before finding a good fishing spot. By the time he finds one the rain has cleared and he can fish in peace. Will anything bite today?
Eliza lets Fergus invite his friends over so long as no one make a mess. Anya comes over and gives him a hug while Kelly zips to the computer to do some trolling. Fergus is glad Brianna showed up and the two happily monkey around for a bit, not caring about blocking TV view at all.
Fergus is excited when Drake offers to become partners in crime. More pranks for the win! Kelly can't be partners in crime yet but that doesn't stop them taking a cheeky selfie. The group chatter amongst themselves, being friendly and planning mischief they could pull at school
Fergus: But what is being a preteen like
Kelly: Not much changes apart from the clothes
Fergus: Really
Kelly: Preteens do get x-ray vision though, I can see through anything
Fergus: Gross
Kelly: It is a challenging when your eyes mature so fast
Fergus: Maybe mine won't since I need glasses
Kelly: PRANKED
With a couple of fish caught Iggy can return home to collect his Outdoor Adventurer badge before his scout meeting. He's calling his troop leader to convey the good news when a Lothario knocks on the door. They're friends though and spend some time catching up before scouts starts.
This one time Kelly giving fake bad new to Atlas makes sense with who Kelly is. What I don't get is when my sims do this interaction when I have made them dislike mischief. It's like when Rahul autonomously tells jokes despite disliking comedy and gets in a cranky mood. Make it make sense sims!
Bob works out upstairs and ponders more. Maybe he could start a regular cooking livestream. But he had a hard enough time talking to other sims in person. Perhaps he could sell cupcakes to local bakeries. Who knows how much fame that would result in though. Could he write a cookbook maybe?
When Iggy gets home from scouts the Lothario kid is still there so he and Fergus head up the treehouse to play. They can't all play dolls together so the Pancakes play make believe while the Lothario adds dolls to the story. Love how Bob puts washing in the machine then dumps his clothes while changing. He is a slob after all.
Iggy: Scouts was so cool today
Eliza: What did you do
Iggy: Practiced putting up tents
Eliza: Are you sure you don't want to join scouts Fergus
Fergus: No, I think I'll peak in high school
Iggy: I don't think that means what you want it to mean
Fergus: What does it mean
Eliza: Not what you'll do
Bob got an intriguing offer during his shift. The chance to take early retirement and get a payout. In exchange a company would use his likeness and recipes to create a fast food empire. The non-compete clause would mean Bob could never market his own food again though, can he commit to that?
Back home Dale is feeling the love. He has a big hug with Eliza and then starts to play with Fergus. After a long play session Fergus moves on to his journal where he proceeds to write about unicorns and cry. I'm sorry buddy, I'll get Horse Ranch eventually.
Iggy meanwhile gets stuck into the only fitness activity I can think of right now, dancing! Future me may have gotten him a bike but at this point my brain wasn't working okay. Who decided to make so few kids activities anyway?
At 8:30pm the Make Business Calls interaction is selectable on Eliza's phone for the first time all day. She chats with colleagues and then works on her debate skill. When the kids are asleep she tidies up downstairs with Dale giving a perfect example of how pets can help with housework.
11pm and Bob is home. He finds that Eiza is napping on his side of the bed, meaning he won't be able to sleep without waking her up. When he's cleaned up from work he goes and wakes her, keen to tell her about the opportunity he had at work.

The Bizarre Masterpiece of JoJos Bizarre Adventure Part 4
My goal with this essay will be to illustrate why I found Stardust Crusaders disappointing and how i think Diamond Is Unbreakable managed to fix everything wrong with part 3 and became my favorite JoJo part. I will mention that the only part of the manga that i have read is stone ocean, which means i will not be taking Steel Ball Run and JoJolion into account.
Now in order to understand the problem with Stardust Crusaders we have to understand Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. Phantom Blood focuses on Jonathan Joestar and his battle with his evil vampire adopted brother Dio Brando. Jonathan's ability to fight Dio and his underlings comes from his mastery of Hamon, a sun energy that is controlled through the breath. Phantom Blood is by far the shortest JoJo part and as such it lacks a lot of character work and interesting fight choreography, and really it should be understand as backstory for the rest of the story. One important part is that Jonathan is capable of using a sword to conduct Hamon, thus introducing the theme that certain materials can be used to contain Hamon and sent it into an opponent. The second part of JoJos is Battle Tendency, following Joseph Joestar, Jonathan's grandchild. During Battle Tendency a group of 4 ancient beings known as the Pillar Men awaken. It is revealed that they were the ones who made the stone mask that turned Dio into a vampire, and that they are weak to the sun and Hamon. It is now up to Joseph and his friend / rival Ceasar to master Hamon and defeat the Pillar Men. While Ceasar starts out being adept at Hamon, Joseph instead focuses on analyzing his opponents moves, almost always being able to predict what they are going to say, and uses trickery to win his battles. Where Jonathan relied heavily on his strength to win battles Josephs specific fighting style allows for much more interesting fights. Every battle ends up feeling unique, Joseph will almost always come up with a new trick to counter his specific opponent and seeing him figure out how to outsmart his opponent is a delight.
JoJos next and third part is the widely popular Stardust Crusaders, following Josephs grandchild Jotaro Kujo, a Japanese high school student. This part introduces stands, which are probably the most famous thing from the entire series. These ghost like figures are representations of a persons fighting spirit and each comes with a series of stats describing its physical fighting ability as well as what is known as a stand ability, an ability which is unique to each stand. Jotaro suddenly gets a stand, and Joseph reveals that Dio is back, all though now refered to as DIO in all caps. It turns out that during the end of Phantom Blood Dio was able to steal Jonathans body and he has now used a mysterious arrow to give himself a stand. But since DIO has Josephs body this action has also given every member of the Joestar bloodline a stand due to the spiritual connection between them. Jotaros mother and Holly, who is the daughter of Joseph, is dying from her stand and so Jotaro must team up with the group that will be known as the stardust crusaders in order to defeat DIO and save Holly. This group consists Muhammad Avdol whose stand Magicians Red can throw fire at people, Jean Pierre Polnareff with the sword wielding stand Silver Chariot, Noriaki Kakoyin who can fire emeralds from his stand Hierophant Green and Josephs whose stand Hermit Purple has little to no combat strength but can be used to show him visions of what he wishes to see using different mediums (mainly destroying cameras). Magicians Purple has also been confirmed by the series’ creator Araki to be a representation of Josephs Hamon. The gang later gets joined by the dog Iggy whose stand the Fool can morph sand into different shapes. The problem with Stardust Crusaders, at least for me, is that all though all of the crusaders have their own interesting abilities they are almost never used and a large majority of fights ends with Jotaro punching someone. Gone are the days where a battle was about finding different and unique ways to defeat your opponent, now it’s just about getting Jotaro into punching range. The reason for this is that Jotaros stand ability is only revealed during the last fight against DIO. DIOs stand The World has the ability to stop time, and only those who can stop time can move while it is stopped. Early on in the fight Jotaro notices how similar The World and Star Platinum are, and it is hinted at that this is when he realizes his stand ability. The fight continues and Jotaro tries to hide his power to stop time from DIO, at one point using magnets to trick DIO into believing that he couldn’t actually stop time and was just using the magnets to trick DIO. While this fight and the twist of Jotaros stand ability are great and worth the set up, they come at the price of all of Jotaros prior fights having to be without the use of a stand ability, thus making it a lot harder to making them feel unique and interesting. And this wouldn’t have been a problem if this part of JoJo had better utilized the other members of the Stardust Crusaders. Noone embodies this problem more clearly than Jospeh. See Joseph has what i consider the best fight in the entire season, when he fights the stand user Nena, whose stand the Empress attaches itself to his arm and threatens to kill him, but because it is attached to him if he tries to hurt it he will hurt himself. This leads Joseph to having to run around the town trying to minimize the damage he does to it’s inhabitants while he figures out how to defeat his enemy. At one point he rolls around in some dust while fighting the Empress, and it is later revealed that he used his stand Hermit Purple on the dust in order to show him the route some coal tar, which would allow him to fossilize the Empress stand, get it off his arm and destroy it. This fight perfectly utilizes Joseph as a character, he runs away which is a technique he used a lot in Battle Tendency and he ultimately wins by tricking his opponent. The sad thing is that this is the only time in Stardust Crusaders we get see Joseph like this, despite there being 2 perfect opportunities for Joseph to do something interesting. The first one is during a fight against a Stand known as the sun. This Stand doesn’t fight opponents directly but instead slowly raises the heat coming from the sun thus killing its enemies from heat exposure. As such the point of this battle is not to defeat the stand but to find the stand user and beat them before the gang dies. It turns out the stand user was hiding behind a mirror, which the gang noticed because part of the dessert was perfectly mirrored. The problem is that Joseph is the only person not to notice. Joseph, a fighter who has time and time again used his ability to notice the smallest of details to predict his opponent, even to the point of knowing what they will say, is the only person who doesn’t notice. This straight up doesn’t feel in line with his character. And then there is the fight against Alessi, which many fans have wanted Joseph to participate in. Alessis stand allows him to age down his opponent, weakening them and their stands to the point of being unable to fight. This fight mainly just includes Alessi trying to hunt down and kill a child Polnareff before getting beaten up by a child Jotaro using Star Platinum. Now i want to state up front that Araki has said that the reason Joseph wasn’t in this fight is because he doesn’t like doing things just because of fan service. While i agree with this sentiment, i do think there is a legitimate good reason for Joseph to be in this fight instead of Polnareff and Jotaro. Remember before he had Hermit Purple, Josephs main weapon was his Hamon, and while it can’t directly hurt someone who is not a vampire or Pillar Man, it can be used to manipulate objects. For example Joseph uses it to make a bottle of cola bubble over so he can launch bottle cap into the face of a racist police officer. There is also the fact that non stand users can’t see stands, which means Joseph would have to find another way to avoid getting attacked by Alessi. We could have had a fight where a young Joseph has to find creative ways to use his Hamon to indirectly harm Alessi, all the while he has to use his ability of prediction to avoid getting killed. Yes, this fight would have been fan servicy, but it would also have been a completely unique fight for the series, the most creative and interesting Hamon user against a stand user. It was a perfect opportunity to break the monotony of Stardust Crusaders, and instead we got another fight where Jotaro wins by punching someone really hard.
So, how does Diamond is Unbreakable fix this? To answer that i am gonna give you a short introduction to this part. Here we follow Josephs young son Josuke, whom he had with a woman during a business trip to Japan and who is a lot younger than Jotaro. Josuke doesn’t know his father and instead grew up with his mother and grandfather in the small town of Morio. Early in his life Josuke got sick because of the Joestar family stand shenanigans that DIO started just like what happened to Holly and he ended up getting saved by a man with a pompadour, which is why he mimics that hairstyle and gets very mad if someone makes fun of it. At the start of the series Josukes granddad gets killed by a stand wielding serial killer named Angelo, partly because Josuke doesn’t bother looking after Angelo after imprisoning him. Feeling guilty for the death of his grandfather, who was a police officer, Josuke swears to take up his mandle as the defender of Morio, and together with his friends he forms the Morio defenders protecting the city from malicious stand users. As it turns out there is another serial killer in town, named Kira, who uses his stand Killer Queen to blow up women and steal their hands which he will then date until they rot. The series has a large focus on the city of Morio, as well as its community of stand users and tracking down Kira. In one of the earliest scenes of the series Josuke is showed trying to help a turtle get to safety, establishing him as kind and caring, a fact which is referenced by his stand. His stand is named Crazy Diamond and while it is physically a lot weaker than Star Platinum it can fix any object after punching it, but if Josuke doesn’t concentrate the object will be fixed wrong. He can also use Crazy Diamond to heal people, but he can’t heal himself and he can’t bring people back from death. And this is the fist improvement from Stardust Crusaders, Josuke is by no means weak but he is no where near as strong as Jotaro and his stand power forces him to think of how he can creatively use it to defeat his opponents. Another great fact about Diamond Is Unbreakable is that a lot of the time after defeating a foe, said foe will join the Morio Defenders. See most enemies in Stardust Crusaders would be permanently “out of action” and only a select few villains would return. But in Diamond Is Unbreakable most villains get to appear again and you get to see them in another fight or two, and everyone gets their fair share of fights. Yes Josuke is the main character and gets the most attention, everyone else still gets a satisfying amount of fights. The stand abilities are also a lot more interesting than in part 3. In part 3 we had stand abilities like “it lets its user control bullets from his gun” or “it kills people with fog”. In DIU we have a stand that takes the form of an electric pylon, its user can’t leave the pylon unless someone else enters it and then they get caught inside of it until someone new enters. Also if you attack the pylon it reflects the damage back at you. But, i didn’t call DIU a masterpiece just because it has fun battles, so i am now gonna start talking about themes and characters.
Like i said, one of the themes of part 4 is community, the Morio defenders all come together to stop Kira and each contributes in their own way, but the one character who does the most in order to track down Kira is Rohan Kishibe. Rohan is a mangaka and he has the stand Heavens Door, allowing him to turn peoples faces into books, and anything he writes in them will happen. See, the defenders fist find out about Kira because Rohan wants to visist an alley haunted by ghosts, and there he meets a girl named Remi who is the ghost of Kiras first victim. Later in that same episode, while visiting her grave, Rohan finds out that not only was he friends with Remi, he was in her home on the night that she died and he only survived because she hid him in a bush. It is after this that Rohan starts looking for Kira. At one point, after having been found by Josuke and Jotaro Kira forces another stand user to swap his face with another mans, before killing the two of them and escaping with his new identity. It is Rohan who manages who finds a kid named Hayato, the son of the man whose face Kira stole. Hayato want’s to stop Kira but can’t since Kira has unlocked a new part of his stand, this allows him to plant a bomb inside Hayato that will explode if he tells anyone about Kira which will kill the person he told before turning time back to a specific point, and only Hayato will be able to remember what happened. Even tho he dies, Rohan does manage to tell Hayato that he is waiting on someone, a fact that will be important when i discuss Hayatos character. Now it is never stated explicitly but i chose to interpret Rohans actions after learning about his past with Remi as stemming from a feeling that now it is personal. See Rohan isn’t exactly a good guy, hell he starts out as a villain, but finding out that Remi was his friend, finding out that something so traumatic happened to him, i think this angers the deeply selfish Rohan which is why he works so hard to find Kira. But this is also part of his character ark, Rohan starts out being very eccentric and while he still is at the end of the series, him joining the hunt for Kira allows him to befriend a lot of people, mainly the highly reliable Koichi Hirose, and when Remi leaves Morio, finally being able to go to the afterlife Rohan is able to admit that he will miss her. It is through the hunt for Kira that Rohan can join the community.
The next character i want to discuss is Hayato along with the theme of denying fate. Hayato is a lonely and sad kid, who realizes that his dad is no longer acting like himself and finds out that his dad has been replaced with a serial killer. Now like previously stated non-stand users can’t see stands so Hayato has no idea what is going on or how Kira does the things he does. Another trait to Kira is his incredible luck, whenever it seems something is about to go wrong for Kira he gets lucky and finds a way out, so to Hayato it seems like Kira is destined to win. And yet he persists, he keeps trying to find a way to beat him and each time the time loop resets, each time he fails he tries again. In the end he manages to use Kiras pride against him. Since Hayato can’t tell others about Kira, he gets him to say his name out loud in a spot where Josuke will hear out, thus leading to the final Confrontation between the two. Since Kiras ability to reverse time only triggers if Hayato is the one to reveal his secret it doesn’t go into effect at this point, and when Josuke begins to ponder whether it was fate or coincidence that led him to find Kira, Hayato proclaims that it was neither, and was instead a gamble. Despite only getting introduced late in the season Hayato is an incredibly important character, it is only through his determination, willingness to go against fate and will to do good that Kira is defeated. Thus Hayato inhabits many of the themes of the season.
Kira is the second to last character i want to discuss, and i want to argue that he is the dark mirror to Josuke and the Morio Defenders. First of all, during the part of the season where the Defenders are looking for Kira the song “Chase” is used as the intro song. The musician MasakoXtreme has made an excellent English cover for this song that i highly recommend you listen to, and it is the version i will be using. The song discusses how the POV characters has lost all they know to some evil force and how they are now finding themselves in a world that seems unknown to them. This character proclaims that they will chase the person who took all of this from them no matter what, and that the monster tenacity will be their doom. The reason i bring this song up is because it can be understood as being both from the perspective of Kira and Josuke. While Josuke has lost a friend to Kiras murders (more on that in the next paragraph) but one of Kiras main traits is his desire to live a normal life without too much attention. This simple life was taken away from Kira when the Morio defenders started investigating and forced him to change his face. Then there is the idea that a persons tenacity will be their doom, as i have stated one of the main themes of the heroes of this story is their determination, they are all very tenacious. And then there is the idea of chasing the monster, this references the cat and mouse game between Kira and the Defenders, both trying to chase down and defeat the other. Kira shares many of the traits that define someone like Josuke. He is willing to keep fighting no matter how bleak the situation is, but since he doesn’t have Josukes kindness and so what he fights for is the ability to continue killing people. Kira is also very conventionally attractive. I bring this up because there is a tendency within character design to use attractiveness to show off a characters morality, the idea being that a their outside reflects their inside. So an ugly character would reflect and ugly an evil personality, while a handsome character would be good and kind. But Kira is attractive which means he takes on a trait typically associated with a hero. This also plays together with his desire to live a simple life without attention, given how many successful serial killers in real life are able to seem like normal people, putting on a mask of someone who is well functioning and often very charming. By being handsome it is easier for Kira to fit in and gain the trust of people around him. And while on this topic it would be a mistake not to bring up the famous “I am Yoshikage Kira” speech, in which Kira describes his daily routine to one of Josukes friends who found the hand Kira was dating at that time. While i won’t present it here, and i do recommend you look it up, all you really need to know is that this speech presents and utterly normal routine with nothing that seems odd or out of place, yet the way Kira and his voice actor deliver it it still manages to feel truly unsettling.
Now it is time for us to finally go into depth with the protagonist of the story: Josuke. First of all i want to expand on my point that Josuke has taken up the mantle of the defender of Morio from his grandfather. See, as i have mentioned Kira kills one of Josukes friends, a child named Shigechi, and this is what motivates Josuke to begin hunting down Kira. The thing is he knew about Kira before Shigechi died, Rohan had already met Remi at this point and told the rest of the Defenders about the serial killer, yet Josuke had done little to nothing to find Kira, he hadn’t even warned his friends that they might be in danger, so Shigechi didn’t know about Kira. Much like how Josukes dad died because Josuke had not taken the job of guarding Angelo seriously, Shigechi died because Josuke had not taken the threat of Kira seriously. This represents a pivotal moment in Josukes character arc. While he does genuinely want to defend his city and the people he cares about, Josuke is still by large the kid he was when his grandfather died, it is only when Shigechi died that Josuke realizes how big a threat Kira is and that when dealing with someone like Kira one can not simply wait around for them to make move, you have to take the situation more seriously than that. Another interesting thing about Josuke is his relationship to the name of the season “Diamond is unbreakable”. Josukes stand is named Crazy Diamond, and as stated a stand represents the fighting spirit of its owner. So if Crazy Diamond is the diamond the title references, that would mean Josukes fighting spirit can not be broken. Again, one of the main characteristics of the heroes of this story is their tenacity and Josuke fully embodies this. Then there is his kindness. When Jotaro finds out how Josukes stand ability he refers to it as “kinder than anything else”. It is this kindness that allows Josuke to form the Morio Defenders who help him protect his city, instead of putting his foes out of action he befriends them and adds them to his team. The sense of community that matters so much to the themes of DIU can only exist because Josuke spares his enemies whenever he can. An example of this in practice is Josuke sparing and agreeing to help the Nejmura brothers and befriending Okuyasu Nejmura. During the final battle Okuyasu willingly sacrifices himself (all though he doesn’t die don’t worry) to aid Josuke, and if he hadn’t done that it is likely that Josuke would have been unable to defeat Kira. While Josuka takes on his grandfathers role as the defender of Morio, it is also not a role he must play alone, and through the connections he makes he crafts a powerful bond, a bond that is as unbreakable as diamond.

War Of The Roses Final Battle
It was raining when it happened….
I was tricked by my own brother…
We made a promise. Not to betray each other.
And he… did just that… to me…
England and Yorkshire clashed swords once more, as he said, “This is getting us nowhere!” She continued to fight him, but was then attacked by his magic. She screamed in pain and landed on the ground. Richard then asked, “Are you alright…?” “Yes! I’ll be… fine…!!!”
That’s when the world around her changed and she looked around, only to see England opposing her. “If you want to win this Final Battle! Fight me here! Time doesn’t matter… and you can summon whatever you want to fight me here”, he explained. Yorkshire asked, “Have you lost your mind?! Our Kings need us, Iggy!”
“… Time has stopped there. So, don’t worry”.
For some reason, I took his word…
Then she summoned something that shouldn’t exist during that time period: an air rifle. “Okay. I trust you, brother”, she told him as a field of pretty white roses appeared under her. He smiled and said, “I hope you know how to use that”. “Haha…! Yeah… so do I…! At least we can have a fun fight!”, she laughed. “Yeah…”.
The two siblings jumped around this dimension and started shooting at one another. England had quickly realised how accurate she was and then grew scared of his own sister. He kept dodging, until he got a hit in her shoulder. She jumped down and smirked. “Are you finished…?” His eyes widened when he saw that multiple rifles were at her feet. “W-What the hell…?!!”
“Hey! I just wanna have some fun! Neither of us can die here, right?!”, Yorkshire asked with a smile.
Yes, neither of us could die here… not here….
Then she quickly used every rifle at her disposal, and just kept shooting at him. He quickly summoned his sword and cut down every bullet at a fast speed. “I-Is this the only weapon I’m used to using at this time…? W-Why is she so good with an air rifle?! That weapon isn’t even supposed to be invented yet!”, he thought.
Yorkshire quickly jumped up and the siblings clashed swords. England started to panic and he asked, “I-Is that… a Holy Sword?!” “You mean Excalibur? Yup~! It is~!” He cried out as she slashed him and fell onto his red roses, not appearing to get up. “E-England?” She jumped down and asked, “A-Are you alright…?” “…If I can’t beat her head on, I’ll just have to use some dirty tactics…”, he thought before a horrible grin appeared.
“AHHHHHH!!!”
She screamed as she felt a deep cut in her chest and she fell back. “Y-You bastard! That was a dirty move! Y-You don’t fight like that! What’s wrong with you…?!! You usually fight with honour!”, Yorkshire shouted at him. England stood up and he wound healed up. This surprised her and she backed away. “Y-You can heal”.
“It’s adorable how you think that anything I’ve done… has been honourable. Honour doesn’t exist in war…”.
“W-What have you done…?”, she asked, tearing up.
He snapped his fingers and then the world collapsed around them. She looked down and that is when she saw it. King Richard’s head… on the ground. “N-No!”
“The War is over…”.
She fell to the ground and then saw a white rose, that was covered in blood. “I-I’m sorry, your majesty…”.
Tears ran down her cheeks, but then her eyes turned blue. “Y-You lied to me…! You have betrayed me!”
“Yorkshire! This is war! Grow up!”, England shouted.
She then took the rose and started laughing, looking back at him. “No… this is just to keep your ego intact, big brother~! You just wanted to take over~! That’s all you want~! Full conquest of our Kingdom~! Don’t you understand what that makes you~?”, she asked him.
“What…?”
“In short… that means you’re weak without us. And… you actually believe you can boss us around. Too bad. Because some of us are gonna get sick of it one day”.
Yorkshire then pointed her magical air rifle at him.
“I suggest you watch your back from now on. You will only going to get weaker as time goes on”.
Then she walked away, tears running down her face. “I hate you… brother”. Regret filled England.
He got what he wanted. I didn’t mind being apart of the United Kingdom. But, he didn’t have to trick me.
Present Day…
At a World Meeting, Yorkshire was looking down at a bloody white rose. The same one she took that day.
All she heard was England arguing with America and France, as per usual. But she didn’t feel like joining in. Yorkshire and England had reconciled over the years, working together as a country again, but the damage of that war… always tormented her. She stood up.
“Ve…? Are you alright, Yorkshire?”, Veneziano asked.
She nodded. “Yes. But, I’m just gonna go home”.
…
When she got home, she walked directly to her own basement and passed a mirror that was very strange.
She placed the white rose in a display case and used her magic to keep it blooming still.
“Depression’s never easy, is it?”, her mirror self said.
“No… it’s not”, Yorkshire replied.
“… It’ll get better. Just don’t turn into me”.
She looked surprised and looked into the mirror.
“You’re already a pure white rose on a sea of blood… so, don’t get trapped in your own thorns, like me…”.

fiancé been busy for hours (not his fault) feel bad for him. miss him. dislike being without him for too long. sometimes makes me feel small, don’t have anyone else to talk to. or maybe don’t feel like talking to anyone else. don’t consider myself lonely but I prefer him. I prefer him and Ignis and gladio and even luna /source. but can’t talk to iggy or gladio and noct is busy </3
fictive ramble more under cut
really miss being with friends /source
miss being outside and driving in regalia and smelling iggy’s food and trying to arm wrestle gladio but never lets me win. see Gladio’s favorite ramen at super market. see mention of fishing think of going with Noctis. all of us with campfire trying to keep warm. been years. but im still same age. stuck. only noct understands. lucky to have him with me at least. like we both got sucked into a different dimension. weird. call irl friends names from source because makes things easier. always forget to use real name when refer to them. want me and Noctis to be happy and traveling and not worrying about anything too much. but it’s okay. just weird to not be in source anymore.

Ignacio's grin widened when Juliette began to chuckle, pointing out how stubborn they both were but deciding to relent on the issue since he had ultimately taken the beating for her sake. Iggy wasn't going to argue with that, knowing he'd be happy to win in this case, even if his face stung and his ego was bruised a little. At the very least it brought her closer to him, as she stood there mere inches away while she fixed him up as best to her abilities. Of course he wasn't going to push his luck either by bragging so he tried his best not to look as triumphant over the matter as he felt. "Thank you," he said with a chuckle of his own.
As she announced she was done, Iggy felt his shoulders relax a bit. The stinging sensation was already turning into a dull throb and his knuckles were beginning to grow numb against the the ice pack, making it easier to keep his focus on the brunette as she took his chin in her hands to carefully inspect his face, feeling warmth begin to seep into his skin again at the much gentler and touch than that of just a few minutes prior. "Yeah? You think so?" He asked with a raise of his brow and a lopsided grin. "Good, maybe I'll get a reputation going and fewer dickheads will start to show up around here."
He leaned back further against the desk, jutting his lip out slightly in a pout as she mentioned her sexy nurse costume. She was obviously joking though Ignacio couldn't help but let his mind imagine it anyways, groaning playfully as if disheartened by the news. "Damn, I knew I should have checked my Crystal ball this morning." He finished with a dramatic sigh, shrugging his shoulders as another idea arose. "How about you let me buy you a drink instead and we'll call the whole night good -- not here though," he clarified. "Let me take you out for real. Somewhere nice for a real cocktail and maybe dinner too if you really want to make it up to me." He proposed, his charming smile back in place as he watched her with a hopeful gaze. | @ritualixtic
Julietta's gaze met his — quiet but intense, as if pondering something — and, a moment later, her lips parted and a soft chuckle came out. "We are at risk of entering a never-ending circular conversation right here. I usually like to die on my hill but considering you oh so gracefully risked your good looks and hand skills to protect my honor, I'm willing to make an exception and let you win." She kept her tone jocose, hoping to distract him from the stinging with casual banter and a side of flirting. Working in a kitchen had provided her with enough experience tending to all kinds of wounds to make quick work of disinfecting and cutting the bleeding. "All done," Jules announced, discarding the bloody gauze in the bin but not attempting to retrieve the ice pack. He should know better than anyone else when that one was ready to go. "Let me see." Carefully grabbing his chin and pretending to inspect his face while humming softly. "Just what I thought. Now you look like the poster boy of 'i-take-no-shit' bar owners. One look at you and anyone hoping for trouble will know this is not a place to mess with," she teased, patting his shoulder almost condescendingly, yet the playful smile on her face revealed it was just a game.
"Damn, just the day I decide to leave my super sexy nurse uniform at home rather than wear it under my clothes," she feigned to lament, adding a little sigh at the end. "Next time you might want to provide me with some insight before I show up. It will for sure make the experience a whole lot more enjoyable," she played along, tossing in a wink of her own. "If it were to happen again, that's it."
