It’s late and my brain is driving me crazy so I’m gonna leave some thoughts here for you hehe

So like imagine going underwear shopping with chan or Minho and you tell them to sit down while you try on new sets you choose and you’re like “I will try these on and you tell me which one I should get” but like with full intentions of teasing them, but being the supportive boyfriend they obviously agree…so I think chan would break after the third set because the next one you choose is black and Lacey and barely covers anything and chan just stares at you for good 3 minutes to make sure you are real and then he signals for you to come close and you obey and step in front of him looking at him with a tiny smile “what do you think about this one?” but chan seems to lose in his thoughts and just puts his hands on your thighs and squeezes them and then he does this think with his tongue…where he pushes his tongue on the inside of his cheek. And suddenly he just goes “we are getting this one let’s go” because he can’t wait to get home and fuck you in your new pretty set…he did think about just taking you there in the store but he decided to take his time to show you how much he liked the new set.

As for Minho…it’s probably his idea to go buy you new underwear because there is a high chance he accidentally destroyed the last set in the heat of the moment so he said he will get you a new one so when you’re at the store and choose a cherry coloured set minhos brain went into overdrive because he likes seeing you in such a sin full colour. So when you try it on and he sees how it’s almost see through and the pretty floral pattern over it he couldn’t hold him self back anymore and just gets up and pushes you back in the room where you just tried on the set and closes the curtain, the way his hands grip your hip tells you what you need to know…and when Minho leans down and starts kissing your neck while letting his hands wander all over you… but in his defence he just wanted to test out if the set can hold out… to say the shop assistant was confused when she saw you limping out with Minho behind you with a proud smirk on his face pulling out his card and just goes like “we’re taking that”.

Yaw! People can use the pirate stuff for whatever honestly. The au is kinda my idea but not really cause I'm just smashin 2 things together lol. I don't mind. Of course, designs are made by @the-skeleton-in-ur-closet so if you end up drawing or using the designs you GOTS to credit them (or I will hunt you down /hj) Also, the dragging the pirate au to a modern Y/N would be so FUCKING FUN. Sans: Anything greasy and bready. Bro loves his carbs. Is a big fan of Ketchup too! Favorite drink is a hot mug of cocoa.

Papyrus: SPAGHETTI! And a wide range of pastas. He is also a huge fan of anything tomato. Looooves drinking iced teas, refreshing and sweet!

Blue: Huge fan of sugary and carbonated sodas but hates sparkling water. Blue is also a great enjoyer of greasy foods loaded with meat (like tacos). Likes fruits that are sweet and tropical.

Stretch: A refreshing jug of beer and potato based foods. He also has a deep love for spicy foods, even if he can't handle them well.

hi thank you for asking i love to talk about fics i read. im so sorry you didn't specify a fandom so i'm going to talk about everything i favorited this year so far lol. i am currently reading this cherik fic called exit wounds by lemonadegarden and i cannot stress enough how good it is. the worldbuilding, the politics, the characters, the storytelling, the emotions, just so so good. please read it if you are a cherik liker. i love it. i haven't finished it yet but omg. not in any particular order

the patch of sand where we buried the dog by shroomyystar: this fic is about luna and erik running into each other and getting ice cream. it should be normal but it's magneto family you know it's fucking insane. you don't even understand the luna and erik brainrot i gained from reading this i was like oh my god his granddaughter.. magnificent character work. to me the magneto family in comics have such a special specific dynamic and it's so well nailed here. it's crazy

make the fire rise by frozencinders: alright i don't go to baldur's gate 3 but i know enough about wyll and astarion and i really like this author so i might as well read their wyllstarion do you feel me. it's about yearning and romance novels and vampires and everything u could ever ask for. i loved it sm. one of my favorite things about this is the narration, like the way the thoughts flow so easily while keeping in beat with the character voice and making u feel so earnest..... gorgeous.......

what's the point in playin' a game you're gonna lose by shroomyystar: raven/irene in regard to the x-men blue origins revelation. raven being so fucking mad at irene but also so deeply in love with her to the point it's the same thing. when i say toxic yuri this is exactly what i mean it's exactly raven trying to kill her and thinking it's like having sex. that's EXACTLY what i mean.

gravity felled the apple (but the spiders stuck around) by maroonmusings: insomniac spider-man 2, peter gets to keep the teaching job and everyone thinks he has a favorite student (miles) which creates some drama until they figure it out a little too well. it's so fucking good. when i read peter parker, i want him to sound exactly like this. the character voices.. the non-canon characters perfectly fitting in this... the entire spider-man cast playing very well in this fic.. THE DIALOGUE! writing peter is such an art but this person GETS it.

taste the way that you bleed by maroonmusings: peter parker/astarion based on that one time they made a joke about it. again i don't go to bg3 but fantastic character work, it's literally so in character it totally sold me on this pairing - not that i need much convincing for crackships. that's just who i am brother.i fucking loved this so much.

Some Catching Up to Do by magicasen: jean/wanda! jean/wanda set in x-men first class. it's so fucking good and funny, it feels incredibly in character to the xmfc versions of them. it's such a feel-good fic about them in that period of time too, and pietro's cameos were too fucking funny. i love girls being girls and being in love :(

lech lecha by ferriswheelsdayoff: hosea matthews character analysis it will blow your tits off. i'm still floored by the amount of work into each line and how it's connected to real world teachings and how it manages to weave all of hosea's important relationships while analyzing him too. saur good

Girls' Nights by EmilyArmadillo: gabby bonding with vault laura!!!!!!! I THOUGHT THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD IDEA like i wish we actually had gabby's reaction to talon? i mean ofc that's asking too much from duggan, or for duggan to care, but this person delivered so well. everything was so well implemented, even the bit where the other laura kinney sees her and leaves the room. ahhh so good

Graveside by NotesFromSarah: the aftermath of erik burying anya after the fire, and then him and the twins coming together to visit her burial place. i thought this was amazing and heartbreaking and also a very groundbreaking magneto fam style for me..... not a lot of fics focused on them during the 80s, which is a good place for them to be somewhat normal around each other, and this fic does such a good job of using tragedy to join them without disregarding their past. gorgeoussss

Last Chance by Lefaym: my notes on this says 'old man sex heart hands' and it's exactly that. doomed timeline cherik from dofp have such a special heart to me even if i don't go much to moviesparts as i did before and oh my god... it's about that longing that regret that they're running out of time and also your hip being sore so you can't really hold a sex position. i love it.

Speed of Silence, Sound of Silence by neverminetohold: x-men evolution pietro & erik. something goes wrong and pietro thinks he's going to be scolded, but erik doesn't scold him. 'His quickening stride screams of his wish to escape this moment that is as far removed from a lecture as it can get.

That defines their relationship in a nutshell. Will they never be able to move beyond this?' you don't even get it im insane. im insane. im insane

chatoyant by unsungillumination: this fic is the best use of the fake dating trope that's ever existed, probably because the main protagonists of this are light and L death note. L and Light get in a relationship for strategic reasons until light gives up the death note, forgetting it is strategic, and believes it's actually real. it's so fucking good. also devastating

Drive. by MissAmyShay: the bear fic. insane. carmy and richie reconciliation, nat and richie flashback to when mikey was first declared dead, nat richie bonding, nat giving birth, donna mentions. what else could i even ask for. it's amazing. i don't even need to read any other fics

telltale by unsungillumination: L haunts light after his death. it's literally ruining light's life. this is my favorite thing in the world i love a good fic about grief and about fucked up soulmates who are not soulmates in a traditional way. i recently finished death note after leaving it on standby for a decade and i'm thriving

This Is How I Disappear by TzviaAriella: kira gets found out. he gets sentenced to death row. he asks the task force to shoot him. it's literally the most haunting fic in the world and i'm so so so so obsessed with it i kinda wanna reread it but it's like devastating and most of all GOOD

the thirty-second hour by unsungillumination: this fic is about light yagami not being able to lie for 4 hours in each day, but it happens at random times, as a consequence of regaining his memories of the death note. it's inspired by i found you in the fire by yosgay which is ALSO one of my favorite fics even if it's not from my current 2024 reads but it IS TO ME. anyway. point is a character like light being forced to tell the truth is amazing. the layers of performance and what truth even means being analyzed through light's own eyes... mmmwah..

So I've been thinking about Pokémon. I do that a lot. My inner Zoobooks kid demands it. But recently I was rewatching some of the old anime for Reasons and realized the games exist in universe as some sorta goofy edutainment simulator. Made me start thinking about 'what if the games oversimplify pokémon biology like Odell's Lake and the like oversimplify real world biology' and uh. With all due gratitude to @bogleech (who does reviews for pokemon designs that I adore) and the nature YouTubers I consume daily.

I would like to yell at you about Bulbasaur a little, Tumblr.

So imma get real nerdy real fast here. I love me some speculative extrapolation.

First off let's look at one of the official game designs real quick.

Okay, so, a sauroid design--I know that seems obvious from the name but hold on here, I have a point.

So here we have a large quadrapedal exotherm with obvious green coloration. Not just dull green, bright green. Given the species line is famous for learning Solar Beam, an attack that necessitates gathering sunlight and transforming it into an attack, we can probably be safe in assuming a lot of that green is chlorophyll, making this a rare non-marine vertebrate capable of using chlorophyll to produce energy for itself. And, occasionally, to gather enough energy to tell predators to step off.

The bulb and the... well, the 'saur, appear to be a package deal, but the bulb is not only distinct from the main body, it may be the primary source of its Grass typing, with the Poison typing belonging to the sauroid hefting that bulb around. That kinda distinction leads me to believe the bulb doesn't naturally grow on the Bulbasaur, and may be the result of a parent or sufficiently trained human implanting the seed for the bulb in its back. Meaning the body can have a set of two genetic parents while the bulb can have genetics coming from any flowering plants of that species in whatever area they're born to.

I wonder if the sauroids without bulbs are capable of surviving on their own or if this was an adaptation out of necessity. Like how megafauna in our actual world died off when the ecosystem could no longer support their energy needs. Are the bulbs needed to get to their size, leaving unaided young smaller to survive without the energy boost? If they were smaller and had weaker skin without the Grass-type boosting, I can see them being analogous to venomous toads. If they're needed for survival, it implies strong social ties, possibly entire colonies or troops of their evolutionary line, in order to provide new 'Saurs with their bulb seeds.

Also, if the two parts of the Bulbasaur are distinct, that implies the bulb is supplementing a diet that was already supporting the animal body. Given the name of the final evolution is Venusaur, I'm going to assume insects, probably birds and rodents once it grows larger and slower.

I'm almost entirely sure this thing lives in and around rainforests and jungles. Lots of moisture and sunlight for the chlorophyll and lots of biodiversity (to feast upon). It also fits with the assumed venomous amphibian origin.

I'm going to assume one of the oversimplifications is the evolution system, and that means the Bulbasaur, as pictured above, is a recognized and therefore official species for use in pokémon sport. There's probably all manner of variants not officially recognized, like ones that don't have their bulb, or who had their bulb seed malform somewhere along the line, or shift position in a way that hinders mobility. It also indicates a Bulbasaur that's battle ready can also lay or sire eggs, though without a ready support system, they're reliant on human aid to properly raise their young with bulbs. Based on body plan and energy requirements, I'm guessing covered nest with between one and three eggs, warm, kept damp, so the heat equally incubated the eggs. When they hatch, the young are kept hydrated and tucked away while a seed is implanted in their soft backs. Eventually, they are exposed more and more to the sunlight and the energy from that and catches brought to the nest helps them grow quickly until the adorable little starter beasts we so love.

There's more. There so much more. But I'll cover that next post or I'll ramble over the word limit.

i saw you express a question a bit back as to whether you should plot it out prior or go chapter by chapter - and idk if its still smthing ur wondering!! so if its not feel free to dismiss - but as someone who has done long fic before id say my happy medium is a little bit of both. you'd want enough to give yourself a couple chapters of buffer while you figure out how to work in the real meat of the plot, but also a few concrete plot points you know you want to hit later on so foreshadowing can be used early on. but also the key word here being "my" because every author should come up with their own mix to keep themselves invested and away from burnout. fanfiction, the medium, fails a little in regards to long fic imo bc it allows reader input at every chapter, which could potentially affect the authors view or or vision for the story.

in regards to overarching plot ideas . . . hmm. whats your ideal end goal you want to achieve w the fic - like a fun horny romp or a mystery series etc? and from there, branching out, do you have a plan for why mc went out into the forest in the first place? :o

This setting reads as steampunk pirates in mythological Italy. Somehow. I really love it. Also, there are solid mentions of the plague as a timestamp, which further develops the universe. Although we are in a fictional universe, it reads as real-world adjacent.

Love that Nothwell normalizes so much in this universe: sex work, queerness, "unconventional" sexual dynamics. This is the type of delivery I love and appreciate so much when authors really feel like they want to say something or make any kind of statement, intentional or not.

Fiore and Enzo’s relationship develops pretty organically and naturally. While some could argue that it is an insta-love situation, I think the nature of their first meeting and the focus of their interactions being sexual due to Fiore’s work forges a closer bond faster. So, in this context, it felt like a normal progression for people who are engaging in intimate acts but who also choose to spend valuable clothed time together.

Enzo and Fiore are just pure affection with each other; it is so precious to witness and it makes the reading experience feel cozy and warm. I love them and their journey so much.

The ending is understated and felt right as it matches the almost gentle wave of Fiore and Enzo’s relationship. While I would have adored a more direct love confession, I think the simpler and subtler ways they expressed their love for each other worked well for their story.

The descriptors are rich and the language and imagery are vibrant. Nothwell manages to write such detail without it being overwhelming or impossible to imagine and he brings that ability over to fleshing out and bringing his characters to life.

I love good world-building and magic systems, and while the world-building was awesome in this, the “magic system” Nothwell constructs is medical, which I had so much fun reading. It almost connects my love of true crime-related science books with a historical romance.

I love the realism Nothwell puts into his characters and their relationships; they’re flawed people but make the effort to enjoy each other, faults and all. Reading relationships and characters that aren’t absolutely pristine and sparkly makes for a more endearing pairing, I think.

I found another comfort couple and read! There is just something so warm and delightful about this book and Fiore and Enzo that just make this tome of a story so fun and easy to read. Some points can feel a bit like stepping over a tiny stone curb, but the overall experience is great and relatively smooth.

OVERALL This was such a great time. I was amazed to find ANOTHER 5-star comfort read right after finding the first one in a while! I am absolutely going to dive into the rest of Nothwell's works because his writing is gorgeous and his characters are so full and complete. I am so excited about his other works, I'm going to need to add them to my TBR immediately!

hard: oh LETS FUCKING GO!!!!! sooooo retro, i love the interesting textures and everything, all the experimental samples make it soooo shinee to me, its like 'dont call me' but Expanded, i love it !!! the "WE GO, WE GO- WE GO HARD!" is SOOOO 'kick it' nct 127 lmao, but its soooo groovy and it sets up the mood of the album soooo well. getting hard with shinee in 2023 babey ‼️

juice: 10/10 SORRY THIS IS THE BEST SONG OF THE YEAR, i know this is gonna be such a polarising opinion but i love this so much. its SO FUN and SO SILLY i love the lil flip phone beep thing in the back of the post chorus "you got the, you got the juice", and the vocal samples all through the song r so fun, and the breakdown bit?? augh so groovy this song absolutely rules, you can absolutely tell how its produced by the same guy who did "dont call me" in their last cb lmao (im gonna have the "i think you liiiike me i think you liiiiike me-" stuck in my head)

10x: ohhhhh groovy... i dont know why but this didnt stick with me the first time i listened to it but i looooove the choppy piano, and the "ten times-" chorus is HEAVENLYYY . unfortunately it is vaguely similar enough to a song that plays all the time at my work, so i cant listen to it for very long without my body subconsciously revolting, but its SOOO GOOD

satellite: i thought the intro was gonna lead to something completely different? for some reason? i like this though!!! it almost feels like it couldve been a very basic slow K-Drama type song but then its shinee so its actually interesting lmao!!!

identity: ouuuUUU i really really like that low buzzing bass synth that goes through the song, its sooo chic and very sneaky sound system i like it!!!! the "my-y identity (i dont wanna hide it)" chorus is a bit meh but the "dont hide it, dont hide it" ost chorus is saur good, and the groovy intermission bit is so good, i love the disco influences too!!!

that feeling: not a fan of this, sounds like smth that would play on the top 50 from 2016 which was never my fave and sounds kinda basic, the vocals r sooo nice even if i haaate the horn thing thats in the instrumentals

like it: OUHH so sparkly, i really like this, it sounds like it should be in a movie credits? so so groovy, so summery, not to sound like a pretentious idiot but its soooo rich im gonna take a sip of this song.... the guitar solo near the end vaguely reminded me of an old homestuck fansong lmao?

sweet misery: VERY similar complaints as 'that feeling', its that genre of Emotional music that i personally dont like (the "sweeet misery" line in the chorus is very taylor swift to me, which. yknow. no comment.), but the production on this track is insane

insomnia: oh this is INTERESTING!!!! i looove the deep synthy intro going into the groovy bass in the verse and then opening up into the smooth jazzy chorus, this is such a good slower song and you can hearrrr how good the vocals are... its got really interesting aspects in it that kind of differentiate it from similar songs, esp the really nice piano-y bits

gravity: this makes sense for a final song on an album but tbh this is what i feared satellite was gonna be? i like the chorus though, but the 'snapping' verse was never my thing

all in all this album is SO GOOD, it has a consistent thesis and theme as is expected of shinee but its still so so so fun and so extra and im so so so excited to see them active again <333 its almost like a return to form in a Cool way, which i love ‼️‼️‼️

it’s only been a hot second since i started writing again but to answer, i’m finding myself gravitating more towards fluff, hurt/comfort, and angst! i also enjoy exploring the mundane/slices of life, as well as psychological concepts (im a psych major lmao) and making them the center of a fic.

as for universes, i prefer to set my fics in canon & not diverging as much as possible, but i do like a good soulmate au! i WANT to be good at writing smut bc 👀👀👀 but i still have a lot of practicing to do lol. when it comes to boundaries, u can see my restrictions here!! as for icks, i hate it when a fic doesn’t have good pacing (NOT that im any good at it but i try 😭). i also prefer good banter/dialogue over long descriptions.

reflecting on my genshin characters

electro / hydro / pyro / dendro im p chill on .. for electro i have yae who's almost done w her first build (will refine her stats later, they could be much better) and i have a pretty ok raiden (world lvl 8 open world is too easy for her and up to floor 11-3 abyss isn't too bad). i also just pulled fischl (not built yet, will soon) and keqing (also not built) if i need it.

for hydro i have ayato with p good crit dmg (211%) and bare min crit rate (40%) but i'll def improve it later on after i get some other units with the primary build. im also in the process of building xingqiu; i j got him to lvl 80 and im currently working on his primary artifacts which are almost done as well. after that it'll be his talents (2/7/6 rn) but i can do that simultaneously with other stuff. and then with neuvillette coming up that'll give me a third good hydro unit

pyro is my most covered element. i have my og beloved diluc... I WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON HIM IDC WHAT ANYONE SAYS.. im pulling xianyun for him (but i also like her in general). he's a little bare bones rn until i finish building some other chars. i also have gaming who highkey eats (c4, ok crit ratio ((~50:150)) and when i pair with bennett, kaeya, and xingqiu he goes pretty hard for having a mediocre crit ratio. PLUS my bennett / kaeya / xq arent even built yet LMAO anyway as i j mentioned i have bennett, i slapped the free noblesse set on him but he could get better substats. this is low priority tho tbh, i think the set effects are more important. xiangling as well, im building her along with xingqiu since they both use emblem. her talents are mid rn (1/6/6). also j got her lvl 80 so she's a work in progress as well. finally i also have chevreuse; i lowkey am unsure of how to build her but i will probably put her on songs of days past. low priority rn as well since i mainly j use her skill and then switch out but shes fun in my overloaded team.

finally for dendro i have nahida and kirara. nahida was such a good decision to pull. amazing dendro app, saur cute, and her dmg in reactions is insane (even at c0). kirara is so cute as well and shes the main shielder i use. her skill also makes it easy to explore. nahida is on some bare minimum artifacts rn but since i j mainly use her burst / skill and not an onfield dps i'll get around to it later. same w kirara. when alhaitham reruns i'll then have a third dendro unit!!

with anemo i do have sucrose and jean but i dont use them too much. ik they're usable but i j have sm other characters id rather build rn. I DO HAVE HEIZOU i think some ppl think he's mid but i like the way he punches instead of casting. i think i'd def build him + resist being a meta slave lmao and then ik i'll def being pulling xianyun. im also not interested in either kazuha or wanderer.. hoyo tall anemo male when

cryo... i do like shenhe but she's such a niche supporter and i think wrio could be fun to play. but given w how primos are hard to get and how i dont wanna whale too much (i lowk whaled / dolphined for yae im crying) i might not pull him unless i come to like him more. it's not that i dislike ayaka but im j not interested in her design (similar to how i feel abt sparkle from hsr). im not interested in ganyu either.. i am begging hoyo for another 5 star cryo dps sldjfhald bc i think mono cryo would be a fun team. i do have layla and kaeya, and then paired with shenhe or rosaria (who i also have) and a 5 star cryo dps seems fun to play.

as for geo i do want zhongli and navia. hopefully zhongli reruns soon (most likely on regional banner/chronicle wish??) i didnt pull for navia on her first run (well i tried but she wasnt coming early thats for sure) and i knew raiden was coming up and i wanted her c2 so i j started saving for c2 raiden. i think chiori would pair well w my ninggaung and zhongli when i do get him but idk .. i also think itto's burst is fun to play but also not high priority for me. i want to incorporate more geo into my gameplay but i want a character who can rly wow me. or like i want to have more geo chars than just zhongli and navia

i am READY for the sleepover - matching pj set worn, hair in two braids done, retainers in, stuffed animal in hand. i'm here to ask for advice. i'm sooo nervous being the new person at my workplace next school year (first year teacher). wondering if you have any stories about getting to know colleagues or getting settled in a job!

Omg and congrats on ur new job bby 🫶🏼 that's saur exciting!! But it's def intimidating ahhaa as ur local introvert I dread interacting with people but I would def suggest going to whatever networking/social events are going on that you feel comfortable attending. Even if it's not w/ ur immediate peers, it's always a good way to meet other people and learn what they do - you never know when you might need their assistance when you least expect it! But also respect your inner gut and if you don't like the crowd and/or don't feel/want to do smth, don't do it.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. You will never look stupid. Where I work, even the smallest of action requires like 5 peer reviews and 10 signatures to complete so it's p natural for me to pester people relentlessly. But I think there's a lot of respect gained taking the plunge to ask others instead of holding back out of fear and not moving forward. Plus you get the answers you need - and it might open up discussion for improvement in the area that caused confusion and prevent others from being confused as well. Chances are, someone was just waiting for the question to be asked! Plus, if nobody can figure it out, maybe you can make that breakthrough! How cool is that?

Latch onto your seniors if you can! If you're not assigned a mentor or someone to guide you through your new hire position, find someone that will be willing to show you the ropes. It always feels better to have someone in your corner that you feel safe asking questions and understanding how things work. Likewise, don't be afraid to provide the same kind of help to fellow or later on, other new hires. You know what they went through and they'll appreciate your guidance.

Don't be afraid to shine! No one likes a show off but there's no reason to hold yourself back out of fear of standing out. I think professionally doing the best where you excel is really important to show how you shine and if you're proud of your accomplishments and work, the only people that are jealous and rude are the ones that didn't take that leap to do what you're doing.

Haha sorry this got long but a major piece of advice I have truly is make sure you're comfortable in your job. Not everything will be sunshine and roses and ofc it's easier said than done in leaving places that make you unhappy, but at the v least - make sure your rights, pay, and benefits are being honored. I had to fight HR quite a bit for mine and finally got them but don't be afraid to secure yourself. It's what you're deserved to earn for your hard work.

And lastly - enjoy yourself! There's nothing better than being satisfied with yourself, your work, and your job. Wishing you all the luck, aeries - you'll have to tell me all abt it! When do you start? August?
