╰┈─➤Wriothesley was certainly a man with a lot of work to do. As the Duke of Meropide Fortress, his duty also extended to the most "troublesome" prisoners in the place. Among them was none other than [Name], a juvenile offender bold enough to steal from authority figures in the city of Fontaine.

It was during a summer afternoon that he met them. Wriothesley was on the wait for the arrival of a criminal on reports of serial thefts of jewelry and priceless possessions. There were no witnesses or traces that could lead to the identity of this thief, so even the Marechaussee Phantom was unable to follow their tracks, coming to the conclusion that they were someone ingenious and extremely experienced at what they did.

Well, what he didn't expect was that the notorious bandit he had been waiting for was a teenager with a bad sense of humor and terrible acting.

The "menace on the loose" who was giving the Fontaine authorities such a headache was right there in front of him, caught after falling asleep in a very comfortable seat inside the Court of Fontaine. It could be said that their carelessness had handed them over to their own hunters.

When asked abouth how they had managed to flee so fast from the crime scenes and hide themselves. The only answer they gave, with a straight face, was:

“I was literally just going in and out through the front doors.”

Quite the unexpected answer.

"Your Grace?" Wriothesley was cut short from his thoughts by two fingers snapping in front of his eyes. The only person brave enough to do that, without a doubt, was them. "What are you thinking? I thought we were going to have tea together."

"Me? Well, I was remembering the first time you set foot in this place." He crossed his arms and let out a little sigh. Their sentence was running out with each passing second, and he didn't want to admit that he would miss them if they left.

"Oh, when I gave you the middle…" He quickly shushed them with a hand right in front of their face.

"Yeah, I know. You were terrible to deal with back then." He ran his fingers through their hair playfully, messing it up.

"But I'm better today," they retorted with a simple sentence that carried a deep weight behind it.

A few months had passed since the incident with the Beret Society. [Name]'s behavior had changed drastically since they had been invited to join the group. In the end, it had all been a tremendous lack of humanity on Dougie's part; recruiting the youngest prisoner in the place and putting them through the same punishment he used with adults while handling the Aqua Doloris.

Before, they were sharp in their comments and too relaxed for their own good, one of the reasons that led them to this place after all. It quite amazed Wriothesley at how they ended up avoiding being caught by the Marechaussee, when they definitely didn't even know how to hide or lie.

They played a big part in their little game against Dougie, making Wriothesley start to pay more attention and spend some extra time supervisioning them.

"If I leave, Your Grace will miss me so much that you'll want to lock me up in that cell again. But guess what? You won't,” they sarcastically declared while jumping down the stairs.

“If you fall down those stairs, you won't be able to leave here before recovering; You know that, right child?” Wriothesley could imagine them falling. It wouldn't be their first time hitting the ground hard.

But contrary to expectations, it was Wriothesley who tripped and almost fell down the stairs, holding on tightly to the banister; trying his best to act as if nothing had happened. An embarrassing silence between them.

“Pfft…”

It was all that could be heard, them laughing at him, who remained motionless in place. Maybe he really was going to miss that little pest who, until now, had given him nothing but trouble. There was only one day until they're officially a free citizen again, but even though they joked about the possibility of leaving, their final decision had not yet been made.

"You really are fearless, aren't you?" He chuckled and looked straight into their eyes. "Not everyone has the nerves to joke like that, maybe I should ask for your sentence to be increased or something..."

Click, click.

Soft footsteps approached them, a sound they were both used to hearing through Meropide.

"I brought tea."

From the top of the stairs, Sigewinne had a smile on her face, carrying a small tray with her. At the sight of it, their faces instantly paled. As Sigewinne didn't have the same senses as humans, her cooking was peculiar, to say the least.

"Did you ask her to do it?" Wriothesley whispered to the teen as he watched Sigewinne walk down to them.

"Definitely not. She must have heard we were supposed to do it today."

The two exchanged glances, as if in telepathic communication. The current plan was to escape from the tea without hurting the feelings of the melusine in front of them. So as soon as she got close enough, the lame excuses began.

"Well, Sigewinne, I'd love to enjoy this wonderful drink with you but," she said in a pained tone, a terribly fake performance, "my tummy hurts, so I'll pass this time. You can give my cup to His Grace, he loves tea after all."

They held their belly, pretending to be in pain. But as always, Sigewinne knew how to get around the situation.

"Hm? There's nothing to worry about, this tea is good for the intestinal flora."

"Wonderful news, right, [Name]?" Wriothesley nudged Sigewinne lightly. After all, revenge is a dish best served cold. "Unfortunately, I won't be able to join you two. Duty calls, child.”

Their jaw dropped. That's it, there was no way out of this. Wriothesley could only grin at them and walk away while [Name] was being forced towards their usual tea-time spot. His grin had the exact following translation: "You're doomed."

And so, [Name] had to drink the cursed beverage.

Knock, knock.

Wriothesley's head rose to look at the door. He was just finishing his paperwork, something he could do another day, but which he needed to pretend he was doing so as not to make it so obvious why he wasn't drinking the tea Sigewinne had made.

"Who's there?"

"Someone who’s going to be outside the Fortress as soon as they can," the familiar voice on the other side of the door mocked, sounding like [Name] had finally made his choice, "I don't really like the part about being a juvenile offender or something like that."

Wriothesley let out a low laugh and let them in. He was genuinely not surprised by such a decision. [Name] was a thief on the loose around Fontaine and never stayed in one place for long. Name's preference to not remain contained within the walls of Meropide Fortress was certainly not surprising.

"What made you not want to stay here?" He crossed his arms and leaned further back in his chair; it was a rather comical situation for him.

"Here is nice. I've got food, a roof over my head, people to talk to," they mimicked his action and crossed their arms, "and you're here. But I do miss my true freedom outside those thick walls."

He stared at them with a fond smile on his face. He was quite sad that he would need to say goodbye to that child. Even if selfishly, Wriothesley secretly wished they wouldn't leave Meropide yet. Maybe he did have a favorite prisoner, after all.

“Now, can I get my ‘ultra mega hyper master favorite prisoner’ title before I go?”

They looked at him with stars in their eyes. To be honest, it was quite laughable.

“We’ll see how it goes.” He placed down the papers in his hand, waiting for them to speak more. Wriothesley definitely couldn't do that, even though it would be hilarious to see the other's reaction.

He got up and walked over to them. Unlike expected, Wriothesley hugged them and patted their head. And with a big smile on his face, he could proudly say:

"Enjoy your life out of here, little prick.” He gave them a playful, painless smack on the head.

“Thank you, Your Grace; but…”

They smiled mischievously at him and pointed to the door. Through it, came Sigewinne with her snack tray.

“To show my appreciation towards Your Grace and the great time I had here, I kindly requested my little friend Sigewinne to prepare the best pastries ever.”

The snacks presented to him had a suspicious smell. Maybe Sigewinne was also voluntarily partaking in this small prank. It was hard to say because of her usual smile.

“Just for you.”

In the end, even he couldn't escape getting a taste from his own medicine.

“I thought you would be free. What happened, [Name]?”

Sigewinne put a finger over her mouth, trying to understand the reason why they would stay inside such a place when they wanted to be free.

“I got sentenced to more time for ‘murder attempt through food poisoning’.”

“Towards who?” She tilted her head in confusion, an interested look in her face.

“...”

They silently pointed towards the Duke.

“Oh.”

I had an angsty (with a happy ending!) Scar thought and I obviously thought of you!

So in Elf culture, there's a right of passage that they have to do when they become an adult and chose their name. Something something hunting, something something survive in the wilderness. After they've done it, they're supposed to be graded on it by a parent and then that parent gives them permission to chose their name once they pass the challenge.

Well, Scar technically passed. He survived alone for a really long time! He hunted monsters, found shelter and food, and even chose his name.

But he technically didn't pass. Because he had no parents left to tell him that he did.

In early season five after the zombie death loop (yeah, there was an early season zombie death loop in 5 before the one Grian caused in 7) he starts thinking a lot about how, because of the zombie apocalypse, he never passed the trial and never could because his family was gone. Even though he had a wonderful family on Hermitcraft now...

He's sitting alone in the SD one night missing his family and feeling incomplete when the last person he'd ever expected to randomly start a conversation comes and sits next to him...

It's TFC.

And something abouth the man makes Scar feel at home. He confides everything in TFC, telling him things he never even told Cub. Then he says something he almost instantly regrets.

"Will you be my substitute dad?"

TFC just laughs, but not like he's laughing at Scar.

"Sure, son. Meet me at spawn in the morning."

And so Scar does. The two go off into an unexplored section of the server and Scar hunts and builds and farms and thrives.

When the trial is over and TFC comes to grade his challenge, the old man cries.

"Never had a son," he says through tears. "'Till today."

They hug and cry and eventually TFC tells Scar he passed.

They both finally feel complete.

OP….OP….IM SO GLAD YOU ASKED….

Their name is Loch Atramento (name Not final) and as you can most likely guess they WERE my self-insert but then evolved into their own character! He’s the fourteenth (?) grumpus on Lizbert’s expedition and Snaxburg’s (self proclaimed) resident therapist!

Originally, he was a therapist in New Grump City who went on vacation for…reasons…and was bound for a cruise ship to Grumpwaii. Unfortunately, he boarded the wrong ship and ended up on Lizbert’s boat. You’d think they would have noticed, but Atramento just walked on board and into a room and nobody noticed until he went out to the deck, saw everyone and Lizbert went something like “who the fuck are you.”

He ended up just. Shrugging and deciding fuck it, so he stayed. They also took one look at the cast and thought. ‘these people are not mentally stable huh. welp!’ and proceeded to turn his hut into a makeshift office.

He’s a very polite speaking grumpus, always referring to people by their last names such as ‘Mrs. Lottablog’ or ‘Mr. Funkbun.’ They even referred to Filbo as ‘Mayor Fiddlepie�� for a fun awhile. Filbo is actually the only one Atramento refers to without honorifics. He’s also decently unphased by a lot.

Once, he had a teacup thrown near his head, missing by an inch and barely flinched, simply asking if the person wanted another cup of tea. Their also ridiculously vague about personal questions, always giving half-answers or vague responses. It drives Beffica in particular crazy.

Despite this, he’s decently good at his job! He does offer advice based on the experiences his patients have gone through and help them with it. He can also sometimes tell things based of their body language. He also serves them hot cocoa made from the chocolate sauce on Wambus’s farm (or tea, if they prefer), and plushie, if they like (thanks to Gramble and Filbo!) He does genuinely want to help, even if some people don’t like opening up. Even if he doesn’t follow his own advice a good portion of times..

That doesn’t mean he doesn’t dislike others, however. Floofty Fizzlebean is particularly a pain for him, as his emotional logic and their rational logic often butt heads.

If you want to find him in game, you won’t need to! He’ll be right smack in the middle of Snaxburg, as he stayed with Filbo, and he’ll be happy to learn you’re bringing people back!

His favorite Bugsnax is Sprinklepede and his least favorite is Sweet Fryder! He’s not one to indulge in bugsnax much (hard holding things with donut arms) but he does enjoy some of them!

I could go on about his relationships and the role he would play…buttt this post is long enough as is. Thank you for asking tho! I’m always willingly to talk about this goober :D

Let's talk abouth Mara's name

Right now Mara's canon name is Mara Driskell. Fandom as a whole seems to already have decided that she will be Mara Wilson soon. At least that's what I've so far seen everyone use as a tag when talking about her.

I think it is disingenuous to just make that decision. This isn't a situation like with Denny, whose mother gave away her rights to her son with his birth (even though she had probably no other choice than that from all I know about mothers in prison in the US). That Denny would be adopted was clear before he was ever born. And in such a case it's, of course, the adoptive parents who have the last word over the name.

But Mara lived with her parents for many years. She has a lot of memories of them, probably a lot of good memories even if we can assume they weren't very good parents. And it's canon that she already only has one physical thing left from her life with her parents: her blanket. 

Of the non-physical things? She has left her memories and her name. And she is old enough to make a decision if she wants to keep that name.

Personally, I can't imagine she would want to give it up because it's the last thing she has to connect her to her parents. I can see her going for hyphenating her bio parents' name with the name of her adoptive family. Or to keep Driskell as a middle name. Or maybe even to not take Wilson on at all. I don't think the showwriters will put that much thought into it. (They might just be as undecided about it as they were about Maddie's name for the longest time.)

Just taking that name away from her because the thought of Hen and Karen adopting her is so exciting feels disrespectful of Mara's character. I'm super excited about the adoption and hope there won't be too much drama about it next season and that they'll get there. But I would wish people in fandom would not only consider Hen and Karen in this and treat Mara like an accessory but consider Mara's perspective, too.

So, while I tag Mara Wilson for the visibility of my posts, I will keep tagging Mara Driskell as well. Because right now that's her name and she might decide that will always be her name.

Ive got a whole (in progress) list of such stories that I enjoyed enough to recommend. Not all of them fit this description exactly, and a few are romances that heavily focus on that, so I wont post the full list here, but here are the ones that i think fit well enough:

The Gods are Bastards (very much this, but unfortunately this subplot happens in books 11 and 16, so its a Lot (of an excellent series) to read through before you get to it))

Starless- Not exactly this, since its about a person (minor spoilers) afab, but raised as a boy by a temple of warrior monks, and so its more abouth him figuring out what his gender identity is, rather than a transition. Alao extremely good.

The Story of Silence- Almost exactly the same as Starless (reading this was very much a two nickles situation for me)

Burke Misadventures- This is almost exactly what OP described. Its an important but relatively minor subplot about one od the two MCs towards the end of book 1, and by book 2 shes mostly fully transitioned

Dreadnought (The Nemesis series)- I wouldnt really say this counts, because she starts out knowing shes trans, and gets a (spoilers) surprise magic transition in the first chapter, and id say its about 50/50 between focusing on her coming out/socially transitioning and on her superhero activities. But im including it anyways because its just genuinely phenomenal.

Same thing OP described, but for women realizing theyre sapphic, rather than someone realizing theyre trans:

Santa Olivia- Yea, definitely not the focus or even a Major plot point, but thats mostly just because it doesnt take all that long for the character to get past it and start dating the MC. Mostly. Definitely worth reading though.

The One Who Eats Monsters- Ive plugged this enough on my blog i assume anyone seeing this is already tired of hearing me talk about it. Insanely fun plot, excellent romance, extremely well written subplot about a girl realizing shes queer.

Longshadow- Faerie tale mystery with a sapphic romance subplot that invovled the MC learning that being queer is A Thing, and then does that. Other than the ending (which was okay), extremely well written

The Midnight Lie- Pretty similar to Longshadow in terms of "MC realizes she can be gay. Bes gay." The romance is definitely a major plot point here, but not quite 50/50 i think.

Wild and Wicked Things- Great Gatsby retelling sort of, same as the previous two. Not an Incredible story, but its fun and interesting and gay.

I want stories to have characters that like. Realize they're trans and do transition stuff, like name changes and trying new looks, partway through the narrative. I want it to be a major point for their personal arc, but not the be-all end-all of their/the story's existence. Like, imagine we get a full season of a show with a particular cast, right? We get to know them decently well as characters, get kinda settled with them. Then, at some point in the next season, one of the characters realizes he's a girl, and it's a huge step for her personal development, but ultimately the main problem on everyone's minds, our newly cracked egg included, is the dark sorcerer who has bewitched the city council, or whatever else the current major conflict might be. IDK, I just wanna see more trans characters in general, of course, and I also wanna see some of them get to figure shit out bc that's such an interesting space to explore, but I also want some of those arcs to just be part of the tapestry of the lives of people with other things going on in their world. Any kind of person can be trans, and the realization can come at any point in life, and it'd be cool to see that reflected in more stuff.

im rotating them all around in my head... those poor kids... but also maybe they'd be sweet parents. i havent figured it out yet (im lying i have)

i love thinking about them as a family purely because the idea of gortash being dragged to their daughters pretend tea party is hilarious to me. she's old enough to understand that he has little gatherings with people where they drink and she copies that. he thinks its a waste of time indulging her up until the point she starts telling him "i poisoned your drink because you owe me money!" and "i'll kill your family if you dont pay me back on time!", slamming her fists into the table and spilling the water they're using as tea, and only then is he like. oh. this we can work with. girl dad gortash is something thats so silly to me. he's the worst father in faerun but that girl is spoiled rotten. equally as worse as him. cries because she didnt get exactly what she wanted for her birthday one year and hes like "its okay. i'll get it for you now" meanwhile rue is off in the corner glaring at him for indulging this behaviour (knowing full well she would do the same as her kid)

rue on the other hand is,, a little absent towards the kiddos. sure, she's there. but she treats them more as if theyre just people rather than of her own blood. actually i think she treats them more like pets. takes them on walks. feeds them at a set time every day. her only sign of affection is patting them on the head as they run past her. i think she warms up to the idea that shes a mother now through reading to them. reads them bedtime stories and does silly voices and one day it clicks into place for her and its a little scary. she reads a lot with their son. teaches him little bits of magic here and then. he's less overwhelming than their daughter i think so she appreciates the quiet. they can be found in the gardens looking at bugs together a lot of the time.

maybe i should name these potential kids. make it be a thing. i know ive said before rue doesnt want kids nor does she like the idea of kids but its okay. au time. its not canon! woo!!

I read someone's post (I can't remember who, sorry for the shitty memory) about wanting stories about Marauders' children but not about Harry or Draco. Just Other Children. And I can't stop thinking about it because

What if they had lived? All of them?

I think Jilly is cute as a ship, but I don't think they would have lasted on the long run. Not as a couple. The war is hard on everyone and they can't pretend they are the same as before. They both agree to stay as friends because love is still there, just not romantic love more of a friendship.

James movew just a few streets down. After a year or so, Regulus moves with him. At first, everyone try to break them up, but Regulus shows once and again that he has changed, that he is good.

Harry loves Regulus with all his baby heart. Regulus insists he is good as an uncle, not wanting to take anyone's spot, but after three years Lily is the one to reassure him.

"Reg" she smiles with love "I know what you mean, but James and I have talked and we both know that Harry has had three parents for a while now. You're his papa. You're family"

Regulus cries for two hours straight after that.

Harry grows with a lot of cousins. The ones he sees the most are Remus and Sirius' children.

After the war, Remus takes a job on the government and doesn't stop until he gets a legislation passed abouth werewolves. After all his work, foster children would have an easier access to a new home. They adopt a three years old werewolf girl, bitten in one of the battles. She has a hard time, but Remus is there for every step.

In Sirius' 25th birthday, she runs to his bed when the sun isn't out yet.

"Daddy! We made breakfast!" she yelled excited.

Remus appears, a shy smile on his lips.

"We kind of burned the pancakes" he apologized.

Sirius just look fondly at him, love all over him as he hugs his daughter.

"Let's adopt another one, Rems" he asks.

They adopt a boy this time. Five years old and having tantrums who could scare Merlin himself.

Dorcas and Marlene had two girls and a boy. They never said who the donor was and no one could tell since the children look exactly like both girls.

The least expected is Barty's child. No one really saw him as a father, especially not after Evan's death. However, when Luna is born, Barty is named his godfather and his whole life changes because he can see himself having a future.

Following Remus and Sirius' example, he adopts. He may have changed, but he hasn't forgotten. He adopts a boy who lost his parents by Death Eaters as a way to remind himself everyday that he can do better. That he has to do better.

They live happy, like they could have only dreamed of. At least until August of '92 comes around.

Sirius didn't ever bother to knock, entering the house with familiarity.

"Did you get one too, Prongs?" he shouted, looking for his friend.

"Good morning to you too, dear brother" responds Regulus frowning.

Sirius just showed the letter, expecting it's explication enough.

"Oh, yeah. Jamie has his own letter".

As if he was called, James enters the kitchen with a big smile and a letters on his hand.

"What does yours say?"

Sirius opens it, preparing himself to read.

"Dear mister Black, I couldn't but notice the name of this year's students. I wrote to check if the boy listed as Lupin-Black has anything to do with you or mister Lupin. Signed, Minerva Mcgonagall"

"Mine's says the same! I mean, she asks if Harry is listed as my child or if it's a coincidence"

Regulus hides his smile. Only he will know the letter he had received with just a few lines written. "Mister Black, if I am not wrong, I may be retiring this year. I do not think I am strong enough for this children. Signed, Minerva Mcgonagall"

hi beautiful people!

i did this post a while back on my we heart it, so i went back to look for it, deleted it there, so i could post it here! gilmore girls is my favorite series of all time, so i'm really excited to do this! some of these are based on their birthdays or estimated birthdays, just so you know (you can look it up, i took the info from this website!). if you've seen the series and want to leave your opinion, please, feel free to do so! also, we don't hate dean, jess nor logan here.

lorelai gilmore

taurus sun - sagittarius asc - aries moon

her birthday is april 25th 1968, which would make her a taurus (just like me!) . at first, i found it weird, not really seeing it, since i always thought she was a sagittarius. but, after thinking it for maybe less than two minutes, i definetely can see it. sheis quite lazy for those things that are not really a reponsability or simply avoids doing certain tasks, yet she's extra hardworking (and even more since her sun could be on her 6h with the sag ascendant i think she is). though she also loves to treat herself, she also knows when she need to tighten her belt. she doesn't like changes that are really crazy and, honestly, has a hardtime letting things off her chest sometimes. oh, and, of course, she is a foodie. i say she's a sag rising for her desire to know and travel, always pushing forward for greater things in her life. i kept debating if she was an aries moon or a gemini moon, so i actually made her chart, and she actually is an aries moon!

(ps: for those of you interested; she's also an aries venus, taurus mars and mercury with a leo jupiter)

libra sun - virgo asc - pisces moon

the next gilmore also has a canon birthday and birth time! it says she is born october 8th 1984 at 4:03am! it's funny cause, recently, i had a discussion with my mom abouth wether she was a virgo or a libra. she is totally a libra and you can tell since, as her mother sun sign, libra is also ruled by venus, which makes them unfairly pretty and attractive, enchanting and wanting to be nice to absolutely everyone. and she is a virgo asc (you bet i drew her natal chart), which explain how responsible and grounded she is. the pisces moon also makes so. much. sense! you know, i thought she was a virgo sun with a psices rising, but wow, this makes way more sense than i thought. remember how the stories of lorelau always were of her wanting to help people when she was a baby and how she's always concerned about others?

also, rising opposite moon does create a conflict on her internal emotions and thoughts, so that's why is harder for her to tell lorelai what's going on at first. and 7h moon makes you usually really close to your mom so-

so, i didn't know who to put next, since the series has so many characters becoming more and less important through the whole plot that the next big character i saw was luke (not at all because he's one of my fav characters). it's said that his birthday is between october and november, which it'll make him a scorpio, a hunch i have since the first time i knew his full story, which makes senses since we see how his family life was never the best. nevertheless, he was the most grounded one, who had the initiative to make his own business but without really changing his dad's old stablishment. he has quite a hard time telling his emotions (again), though everyone knows them, and always showing though love. i was about to write taurus asc instead of aquarius is because of how he decided to open a café, but an aquarius rising would also make a lot of sense - he helps the community yet somehow always seems to go against the authority in it (taylor) and he move forward about his dad's business creating his own.

super dramatic, rebellious, and knows how to be secretive. fun, and it is quite realistic. an amazing friend, but does require a lot of attention. not the best home life, that what provoques her escapes and hideaways, leaving house with quite an impulsive thought process behind. also, the relationship with her mother is bad but she still loves her. she's also super independent and ready to build her own path - until she actually has to and freaks out.

needs to have leadership and control, but doesn't have the exact delicacy that rory has to ask for it. she is always confused about her emotions and the non-logical part of life. she is super focused cause she was pressure on her back at all time from her family, but, once she gets adjusted, she doesn't like changes. she could have a 12h moon though.

Favourite dynamic between the Miquella/Mohg/Morgott trio?

The dynamic in which Mohg and Morgott get married and disappear into a beautiful sunset lol Ok yes I do have preferences as if that wasn't incredibly obviously transparent already, I'm def far more interested in the dynamic between the Omen twins VS Mohguella or the three of them together. That isn't to say I dislike the latters, but it's a... tangential interest, I guess? Like I'll def have fun reading abouth Mohguella and the three way, like fanarts, etc etc- But it's not something I'm personally interested in exploring myself. My brain has fixated on the Omen twins pretty much exclusively, and so the sort of scenarios and concepts I'm finding myself thinking about and making content for is about the two of them.

My brain commands my interests without escape lmao, so I doubt you guys will ever see me actively making Moghuella or Miquella/Mohg/Morgott content (aside from the occasional silly sketch). I like Miquella a lot, I think he's an incredibly intriguing character and I am hoping to discover more about him in the future with the inevitable DLC that we will get, but I'll leave the shipping aspect of him and Mohg to other people, and click the 'like' button on Mohguella content with my grubby little gremling finger without adding too much of my own interpretation to the pile lol

Hi, I read all your analysis, your opinion is helpful for me. I got few questions about Tommy and Grace on S2, hopefully your opinion can enlighten me.

1)During S2 reunion scene, did Tommy telling the truth about he didn't spend a day without thinking about Grace? Or it is just his manipulation way to said that? I know at first he keep testing Grace by pushing her away. I was so afraid Grace will be angrily leaving.

2)Why Grace avoided answer Tommy's question : why did you come here tonight? Tommy looks so hurt when found out Grace& her husband trying conceive a baby. Her reply of doctor believe it's her who's at fault is quite confused me. I don't understand why she said that. I know deep down she still in love and missing Tommy, that's why she came to meet him. Still her reply didn't answer Tommy's question. She also looks frustrating when Tommy comfort her by saying it's no one fault , she said she tired of that. It's she mean she tired of those words or she fail to conceive a baby and took the blame?

3) When Tommy asking if he can see her again, why she lies saying she never lying on her husband,but in fact she already has? Do you think Grace and Tommy got keep seeing each other after that night?

Hi! Thanks for reading the old pile, I’m so glad you liked it. It’s been a very long time since I even watched any PB, but anyway I used to really love it, here goes.

1) Yes. It’s the truth. He wants to see Grace’s reaction to it without the emotional risk of making it a declaration. So he kind of hides it as a line he was going to use to seduce her. ‘I changed my mind’. Sure, Tommy. Lol, Grace was never going to leave. I think she thinks she deserves (or at least understands) his anger, and by withstanding it she is making amends of a sort for a situation (end of S1) made impossible because of her actions.

2) OK, there’s a lot going on in this scene. Tommy still doesn’t really trust Grace, and he thinks she might have used him to try to conceive. She answers part of his question - the medical opinion it’s her fault implies she didn’t see him for that reason. The real reason, that she still loves him and has been wondering, is too impactful an answer to give in the context. She is still clearly unprepared at that point to leave Clive (and there’s also the audience to string along for another episode). I always assumed she was ‘tired' of being comforted and pacified by well-intended but kind of meaningless platitudes about the fertility issues. Also, I think she wanted Tommy not to be the person on that level - she wanted more from him: more cut through, more relevance, more sincerity.

3) She’s never lied to him? Not once? Well, we know she has. And we, and Tommy, know she’s lying when she makes that claim. Tommy kind of picks her up on it and suggests that instead of merely not lying, Grace tells her husband the full truth. Echoing themes from S1, and it is definitely fair enough that it’s a sore point for Tommy. But why is Grace so definite when she makes the statement and so evidently wrong at the same time? I’m not sure tbh. And I think ultimately it’s SK making that point about the fluidity of honesty around Grace, and that she can deceive easily because she is loved. NO, no more hookups for them - Tommy thought Grace was sailing, carried on with May because she was not at all fazed abouth being second best, and was totally surprised when Grace turned up at Epsom.

So while I’ve been sick this December I could watch some movies I wanted to watch since a while. One of them was Encanto (other Luca), and I want to write something abouth them although not sure if anyone will care.

So gonna go with Encanto first.

I really loved this movie and I enjoyed a lot the time. For me the story hit a lot, it was different but interesting and necessary. I like this theme being portrayed in a movie and with magic the better. I love the characters a lot too, I love the care they are designed with and how good they represent their country and culture, it’s so gorgeus to watch and learn. I just feel it’s amazing that Disney is doing more representation and movies are setting in other countries/cultures, because you can learn but this people have representation too, and it’s very good and heartwarming. I felt the movie a bit rushed in some parts, but I get they have limited time so even if I’d like some things to being deeper explorer I understand it couldn’t be. I also had a problem understanding the songs. Like I couldn’t hear very well what they were saying and as I didn’t have subtitles I thing I’ll need to watch it again but subtitled this time. Anyways the songs were beatifull, my favorite was “Colombia, mi encanto” but I felt touched by “Surface Pressure”. I loved the main conflict in this movie, because for once it wasn’t something like good versus evil, or good people versus bad people, just a familly of normal (with magic) people with each one having their own traumas and having to communicate to heal them and stop hurting themselves/others, like this is very human and real. And again, being portrayed in a movie is very important. Something I can’t understand is why people are going so hard against Abuela, it wasn’t until I read other people talking about the movie that I didn’t even consider her as an antagonist (I didn’t do anyways). Like, to me, she is just another victim of the situation and the conflict revolves about the misscomunication and expectatives. Yeah, I understand she didn’t do right forcing her familly but which familly is complety free of having doing so? Which one doesn’t put their own expectatives on someone else? Why villanize it so much?? I also understand that she has to going through some consecuencies, but people looked like they wanted her to be punished, for what? taking care of the town? being traumatized? trying to be perfect herself and her familly to continue with the only little thing she though she could do for others? I don’t know, to me she is the most complex character of the movie and I loved her so much. She is as “guilty” of the situation as the others for letting it be. Like Bruno decided to ran away instead of facing the situation and Isabela decided to go on with being perfect instead of telling what she really felt. Mirabel parents could have said something about her daughter too, I don’t know if it’s backstory (or if it’s in the songs parts I couldn’t understand) but it didn't fel like they tried to do. It’s said that two didn’t argue if one don’t want to, in this case you can see that both sides could have done something to resolve the situation but as it was just miscomunication they didn’t know they could do that, but some people talk about Abuela like she is a monster, too exagerated in my opinion (which is just an opinion). Last thing about Abuela, her story was so sad, I cried a lot with that part. I like that Mirabel’s love for her family could heal the trauma or at least start doing the thing (because each one has to take responsability of their own). I think it could have been nice to see onscreen more of the reconciliation, but I guess it’s fine just with the rebuilding of the house as metaphore of it. So, to finish. I absolutly loved this movie and I hope it’ll get a lot of recognition although Mirabel isn’t a “princess” and the movie doesn’t have any prince for her, as it seems that Disney has to have to succeed. (I’m a bit salty of the “formula” because it lets sink movies that are wonderfull just because they haven’t a princess, songs and/or a love interest -Treasure Planet-, at least Encanto is so colourfull and have a lot of good songs that it can success, I hope so at least).

HISTORY

Bey is a product of a broken family. Her idiot father who's on drugs always beats her mother to pulp until one day her mother had enough and left. She left Bey with her abusive father. At aged 16, she ran away from home and lived on the streets. Luckily she found a job on a local coffee shop in Naples. She's a smart kid. At her first salary, she bought a book about how to use staff and started learning it. She loves to read mystery novels and also books about animals. One day she witnessed a murder happened in a coffee shop she's working at. A group of people sitting on the corner of the shop near the glass window. They were group of friends chatting until one of them started to choke and their mouth begins to overflow with frothe until he passed out. Dead. Being a mystery novel fan, Bey started to tell everyone to stay still and not touch the body. She called the local police and thats when officer Abbachio came. She helped the police solve the case. And she miraculously knew who the culprit is and how he did it. She told the police that the victim is poisoned by potassium cyanide because of the faint smell of almonds in the victim's mouth. She found out that the poison is present on the straw but not on the drink. And she started to suspect the victim's friends. After the police investigation she found out how one of the victim's friends manage to put the poison on the straw. By the use of a tissue with cyanide, the culprit pretends to take a sip in the victim's drink just for the taste and wiped it with the tissue with cyanide. The evidence was found on the trash bin with his fingerprints on it. The culprit, without nothing else to say to defend himself, snatched one of the officers gun and shot Bey then himself. Bey was just shot on her arm but she loss a ton of blood so she was rushed to the a hospital. Abbachio was shocked about this kid. Who is she? How is she so knowledgeable about this field? So many questions that was etching on his mind after that murder incident and he decided to pay Bey a visit for an interview after she was all settled down. He never had the chance to visit her because she was discharged the day before he visit.

On a one fine morning, Bruno Buccellati found the murder case in the newspaper he was reading while having his toast. His mind was wandering about the young girl who solved the case. After his breakfast, he headed to the hospital where Bey is currently in.

A knock on the door startled Bey from reading her favourite manga Detective Conan. She never had a visitor before. After saying come in, a man in white suit walks in. It's Bruno. Eyebrows furrowing, Bey is confused on why a guy, a good looking guy is in her room. Perhaps he had mistaken her room to someone else.

Bruno started clearing his throat as he proceed on introducing himself and stating his intention: convincing Bey to join the gang. Buccellati thought her talent in solving crimes is a great use for his team considering she's living alone, Buccdllati is pretty confident that she'll accept his offer and alas, Bey agreed. They left the hospital since her wounds are now healed and the doctor told her she's free to go. As they are about to leave, Bey decided to use the spare bandage and wrapped it on her nose all the way down to her chin. She told Bucciallati that since the incident, people might start talking about her and her parents might come and find her which is the last thing she wants so she decided to wear that mask from that day on.

Soon, Bey passed the initiation and acquired a stand, Radiohead. She is the first of Buccellati's team, and one of his closest friend.

Somewhere upstairs, he can hear Emma breathlessly practicing her flute, and Jane and Marcus playing some raucous game he’ll probably regret not checking in on later, but he lets it slide for now, watching Elizabeth hover in their living room instead, her forehead furrowed as she looks between the two books, like she’s interrogatin’ them for somethin’ or other. She still ain’t seen him, and she doesn’t seem to hear him neither (he can’t exactly help it – his step’s always been light) meaning he can get his arms around her waist and her back against his bare, sweaty chest before she even notices he’s there.

And shit – the squawk she makes, the way she jumps about a foot in the air? It makes her almost breakin’ his nose with a hardback copy of The Secret History worth it.

He hears a thud of footsteps upstairs, then Kenny yell over the bannister:

“You okay, mom?”

“Fine, honey,” Elizabeth calls back, squirming in his grip. “Rio just gave me a fright.”

It’s enough to appease the kids, and Elizabeth twists in his arms, enough he gets a mouthful of her hair before his lower lip grazes her cheek. He hums, kissing her there.

“Yeah, see, I want you to remember this next time I tell you you ain’t observant.”

He can’t even see her face, but he can feel her glare, and the thought is enough to make him grin, pulling her tighter against him and he really is still hot, still damp from his run, and he can feel it, the moment Elizabeth feels it too.

“Oh my god, you’re so sweaty,” she groans, tryna pull away from him, and Rio laughs, rubbing his chest slightly against her back, hand ghosting up to thumb the button on her blouse.

“Yeah, runnin’ does that, mami,” he replies, letting go enough that she turns around in his arms, curling her hands – still holdin’ those books – around his neck. “You should come with me again some time. We can get sweaty together, yeah?”

And shit, he can’t quite bite back the grin at the look she gives him at that. He’d somehow talked her into it once – when she was all sweet still on the move, tryin’ out new habits and whatnot, and it wasn’t like she was unfit or nothin’, but Elizabeth’s good at a lotta things, but runnin’ ain’t one of them. He can still see it, her slow, awkward stride, legs wobblin’, the rest of her bouncin’, and they’d had to stop three times for her to get all that body back in some old, budget sports bra (and at least he’d managed to talk her into gettin’ a new one of those for her mama yoga and pilates classes).

Like she’s read his mind, she rolls her eyes, leaning up to peck him on the lips.

“We get sweaty together plenty,” she tells his lips, and he blinks, grin cracking wider, because he ain’t ever able to tell if she’s gonna flush at any implication of sex or if she’s gonna be offloading comments like that, and he pulls her in closer, his hands dropping to squeeze her ass which makes only makes her shake her head.
