[this is a personal post. if you would like to talk about your own experience, please make your own post instead of replying to this one. thank you! i'd also prefer not to be analyzed or given advice, but, validation is welcome ;;]
this fandom WAS my youth... and akoya was the love of my youth....
when people talk about the wild things they did in their teens and 20s, the highs and lows, i relate to it, even though i never did any of it (and was never interested in any of it) "in reality".... the internet was how i found connection and felt like i was really living
the emotional high of reading responses to my personal art and feeling loved for the first time... the crushing lows of sharing something deeply personal to be met with silence or comments that felt violating, that felt like a kind of heartbreak over and over (although i fully understand i was never owed a response and that was the risk i took)... the nights and months i spent crying and didn't know how to make it stop, it felt like it wouldn't stop... and yet when the love came, it was a love i never knew in any other way and kept me chasing the highs over and over...
i want to talk, sometimes, about how it was hard for me... it was very hard and yet, i was choosing this. and it was a privilege i was able to do it, that i had the free time to devote my life to a fictional character (and it still is). i know that. and im grateful that ive been able to do what i wanted. im more grateful than anything else. but it was also very difficult because this was my only way of living in the world, to throw my deepest feelings out in front of strangers.
the walk-of-shame feeling every time i posted something slightly suggestive and came back to check the responses the next day, the feeling of being raw and exposed and all the eyes on me as i went through everything in front of everybody, feeling everyone looking and everyone laughing and being able to imagine too well what they'd say, the sense of being watched at all times that made me ill and yet i had to, i had to share because in some way it made me feel alive, like i was living the experiences i drew... it made me feel like i was living in the world...
i used to stay up very late, making my art (ive said this before but i was doing it full-time, often working 8-12 hours at a time).. then in the daytime i'd find out the response and fall asleep in the sun... i feel nostalgic for those afternoons now, sleeping in the sun... i don't miss the schedule, im much healthier now... but those moments when my feelings were heard and returned and all the hours i put into making something were worthwhile, and i'd crawl into the sunlit bed and fall asleep in relief, are dear to my heart now.
i would check messages and then go lie in bed by the window and reread them over and over... my bed was by a window then, and the sun would come in warm, and the relief of feeling seen and heard would wash over me and i would fall asleep, just thinking about the messages... reliving them in my head over and over...
...the feelings i had for akoya, i never felt for a real person, and it couldn't really work with a real person, because it only worked if he could be whatever i wanted, because i expressed myself through him and wanted to be with him at the same time... but what i felt was real... by drawing him, i felt like i was close to him... and also like i was able to exist in the world myself...
i couldn't say how i felt or even recognize it for nearly seven years, because i was afraid people would say things that made me uncomfortable, afraid of being teased, afraid people would push it too far, and it felt like the only way to avoid that was to not have the feelings, so i couldn't... i projected on him so much that i could almost convince myself that was all i wanted. i was afraid, also, that if i said it, i'd be separated from him... because i couldn't be him and want to be with him at the same time... but ultimately i had to accept it because i couldn't hold it back anymore...
...i hated myself so much, in the beginning, for loving him. for pouring all my energy into him, when i thought he would be mean to me, and probably hurt me... when i was supposed to be doing other things, "important" things, things that mattered in the "real" world, but never made me feel as alive as this. i kept trying to get away, desperately trying to get all my thoughts and feelings out so they would leave me alone and my life would go back to what i thought it was supposed to be... i felt like i had no control over it, this was all i wanted anymore. it felt like falling, it felt like weakness, it felt like shame.
but we became something else, didn't we? we made each other something different from how we started.
and if you asked me... if he asked me to, would i still go to his side... i still will feel my heart pulling me back, i still would want to be with him
i still will think about him, but i won't say it, if you ask me was i ever in love .......
#personal#my text#long post#the song 'used to be young' is hitting me hard#even though i was never considered like. fun. lmao#im very introverted and 'proper'. i was the kid who was always 'good' and didnt like to party#i studied instead of having friends and the teachers had high hopes for my future#except then i fell in love with a fictional character and literally gave the last ten years of my life to him#no regrets it was all i wanted#(give me the right please to call it falling in love; instead of crushing or simping; after all ive done please let me have this)

The Royal Librarian
Pairing: tutor!Yeosang x librarian!reader
Word Count: 1.1k
'Crazy Form' Comeback Special Series | Hongjoong | Seonghwa | Yunho | Yeosang | San | Mingi | Wooyoung | Jongho |
ATEEZ Masterlist
"Yeosang, if you don't confess your feelings to the librarian soon, I swear I'll do it for you."
The royal tutor's eyes widened at the princess' words. Resisting the urge to slap a hand over her mouth, he hissed, "Your highness! You will do no such thing, that's highly inappropriate." Despite his disapproval, she merely smirked, enjoying the panic in his eyes as you walked past the two in the palace library, checking the newly arrived books.
Arms folded, she locked eyes with the tutor mischievously, retorting, "You can't tell me what to do; I'm the princess." Yeosang sighed deeply, questioning why he was stuck tutoring this unruly student instead of her disciplined elder brother.
"Why won't you just leave me be? I promised I'd talk to her soon," He pleaded. She scoffed, "You've said that before, and I don't see any progress. This is your last chance, or I'll take matters into my own hands."
With a defeated sigh, he smacked his palm against his forehead, muttering a curse. The princess grinned, satisfied, and resumed her studies with a quill in hand, "I'm only doing this for you because you're my favourite teacher."
Yeosang gave her an unamused stare, "You do realise I'm your only teacher."
She smiled sarcastically, "Exactly, so you have no choice but to do as I say."
As their lesson concluded for the day, the princess shot a threatening squint at her tutor, her fingers subtly gesturing, 'I'm watching you,' before she gracefully exited the library.
Defeated, Yeosang nodded and bowed lightly as he watched her leave, a sense of resignation settling over him. If he wished for a peaceful existence, compliance seemed to be his only option. His heart raced as he turned his attention to you, who were diligently ticking away on your checklist, ensuring the library remained well-organised, as you always do.
He found himself captivated by the sight of you working from a distance; in his eyes, you were the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. From the very first encounter, he sensed it was love at first sight. As he got to know you better, he discovered that your allure extended beyond physical beauty.
Your kindness, knowledge, and passion for your work set you apart. It might sound cliché, but to him, you were incomparable to anyone else. While the princess' lessons could be torturous at times, your presence never failed to brighten his day.
He took a deep breath and dared himself to approach you. Nervously, his hands instinctively moved to straighten his hair and adjust his clothes. Despite having spoken to you before, you always made him stumble over his words like a bumbling fool.
Upon noticing the handsome tutor's presence, you greeted him with a warm smile, setting down your work documents, "Hey Yeosang, how was the lesson today? I hope her highness wasn't too difficult; she's been in a good mood lately. Do you think it has anything to do with the painter she's been seeing in town?"
He chuckled shyly, "It was alright, thanks for asking. I've heard about her new friend; she won't shut up about him. Unfortunately, that doesn't change the way she torments me."
Laughing, you shook your head, "You poor thing. What will it take for her to let you live, hm?"
Yeosang hesitated, unsure whether to be honest. He did know what it would take for her to go easy on him. This could be the perfect time to broach the topic, but he searched his brain for a way to smoothly transition the conversation.
Scratching his head sheepishly, he said, "Yeah, trust me, I always ask myself why I'm stuck with her. It would've been great if only I got the crown prince."
You nodded with a knowing smile, "I know what you mean; the prince is certainly very mature compared to his sister. It's reassuring to know the future of our kingdom is in good hands."
Drawing closer, he leaned against your work desk, attempting to appear cool, unaware of how awkward he looked. You giggled into your fist, finding him adorable. His shyness had always endeared him to you; the tutor was unlike any other guy you'd ever met.
If only he knew how special he was... to you.
"Speaking of which, the sudden news of the prince's engagement was quite a surprise, wasn't it?" He tried to steady his heart as he began his mission.
You brightened immediately, "Oh, it sure was! What a joyous occasion it is. We could use more positive news like this around Wonderland, especially with the ongoing tensions with Utopia."
Enthusiastically agreeing, he said, "We sure do! Have you also heard about the duke and the mapmaker's recent engagements?"
You nodded excitedly, sighing wistfully, "I have. It must be the season of love. Makes me wonder if my turn will ever come."
Here's my chance!
Biting his lip, he prepared for the pivotal moment, "Well, perhaps it will come sooner than expected," Your breath hitched at the direction he was taking, "Perhaps Wonderland could use another engagement soon..."
Your heart pounded as he circled around your desk to approach you, "Yeosang... what are you—" He cleared his throat and whispered your name, "I've been in love with you from the moment we first met. Will you allow me to court you?"
While you were convinced you must have been dreaming, he persistently proved you wrong by dedicating all his efforts to courting you over the next few months. The two of you became the centre of attention among the palace staff. Although he had initially hoped the princess would let him breathe, she had shifted her attention to urging him to propose.
Once he was certain that your feelings matched his own, he needed no further pushing from his student. True to his word, he kept his promise, and before you could fully grasp it, you found yourself strolling around the library with a beautiful ring adorning your finger.
"Wow, what a gorgeous ring you're wearing," Your head snapped up to find none other than your fiancé teasing you, "I know, I'm getting married soon." You responded smugly. His confident grin left you amused, marvelling at the transformation from the timid royal tutor you first met.
Gone was the once shy Kang Yeosang.
You gasped when he gently pushed you against a bookshelf, his hand shielding the back of your head as he leaned in, "Care to share who the lucky guy is?"
Slapping a hand on his chest, you attempted to push him away, "Not here, Yeo—"
But he cut you off, "Tell me."
You relented with a sigh, "It's you."
His smile widened, "That's right, my love." Any resistance melted away the moment he pressed his lips firmly against yours.
Just as he had predicted, Wonderland witnessed another engagement, and this time, it was yours. It was an unforgettable union, etched into the minds of all, thanks in no small part to the princess who claimed all credit. She proudly reminded everyone that her tutor was, at last, marrying his dream girl—the royal librarian.
In case you haven't already noticed, all the parts of this series are sorta interconnected since it's in the same universe. This one also teases the next member's part. Have fun guessing who it is, teehee.

Stuck in the Past
percy x hypnos!reader
summary: Percy chose you. But why does it feel like he didn't?
tags: angst, percy being an idiot, some comfort
wc: 1.6k
note: at last, a fanfic I actually liked after I finished writing
Percy and Annabeth are Camp Half Blood’s power duo.
No one would mess with them because surely the other wasn’t too far off. Even when fully alone, Percy and Annabeth were strong enough on their own to stand their ground.
You were there for their last battle with Gaea. A tragic moment honestly. You had arrived during battle and had been shoved into fight mode. By the end of it, you wanted to run out and hope it was all an illusion. But then he stood before you and handed you a water bottle with a smile. A very exhausted smile that told you he didn’t want this either.
It was a painful realization.
Knowing that you were doomed to a tragic end due to your parents.
But Percy gave you hope. He fought hard every day to make his own destiny and define his future.
You didn’t realize when you got close to Percy. It sort of just happened. He bumped into you at his high school which was your new school. He often took you to camp to train given that Gaea’s battle was your only hands-on experience.
“I’m telling you. It had to be like ten in the morning when I got here. Campers were screaming. Satyrs helping. It was so confusing.” You chuckle to yourself but Percy remains silent. You don't let the silence linger before speaking again.
“It wasn’t as bad as it seems. I guess I needed the reality check.” You shrug thinking back to that scary day. You still sometimes have nightmares about it. You haven't told anybody that but that day scared you more than you liked to think.
“When I first got here, I was also very confused. Grover was my friend and then he was my guardian. Chiron was my teacher and then my mentor. My mom was alive and then... well... the same more or less.” He takes a deep breath before giving you a small smile.
“I guess what I’m trying to say is it’s okay to be confused and scared. It’d be crazy for you not to be. We’re wired to be great soldiers when we’re meant for more. At least that’s how I view it.” Percy kept talking to you after that. It was hard to stop once it started.
Annabeth wasn’t upset over it.
Although you understand there was a bond there, one you could never break. You didn’t think it would matter. Especially not when Percy makes it clear that you're the one he loves.
Yet it was getting hard to remember that.
Late nights at Annabeth’s cabin slowly became dinners and late-night study sessions at her apartment. You tried to remain rational since Percy didn’t have a disloyal bone in his body. But it was hard to ignore the smiles that appeared on his face when he answered her calls.
Today was the last straw.
He had invited Annabeth to the study date you had been looking forward to. He already saw her 6 days a week, why couldn’t it just be the both of you?
You try to move past it but insecurities piled at the sight of him laughing and joking around with her as if you weren’t there.
Eventually, you had enough.
“Excuse me. I need some air.” You get up abruptly. You practically run towards the library’s exit. It didn’t take long before he followed you out the door, Annabeth not far behind.
“Are you okay?” He asks, concerned. Annabeth lingers behind.
“Yes. I’m fine.” You snap. Confusion fills his eyes at the tone of your voice. Were you upset with him?
“Are you sure?” He asks but before you can answer a loud crash is heard behind you.
“Percy behind you!” Annabeth shouts and on instinct, Percy moves.
Seeing them in action always leaves you in awe. It was amazing to see two people so uniquely in sync. Now, however, all you feel is sour hate.
You join Percy’s side trying to be what he needs.
Instead, all you seem to do is get in the way.
“I got it!” You run to knock out the beast while Percy shouts no.
You get there and direct your focus towards the beast only for Annabeth to get caught in the crossfire, knocking her out. She fell to the floor, directly in front of the beast charging at you.
Despite the countless more quests you’ve gone on, all you could feel at that moment was the fear you felt the first day you arrived at camp. The beast lunges at you and claws into your arm before being shoved away.
Percy isn’t sure how he was able to do it but he blasted the beast away, the water pushing you to the ground as well. He quickly ran toward Annabeth, where she was beginning to wake from your sleeping spell.
“Are you okay?” He asked her and she slowly nodded. Her eyes looked up at yours causing Percy to redirect his anger. He gets up from her side and marches towards you.
“What the hell were you thinking?! You could’ve gotten her killed!” He shouts and you bite back your words.
He was right.
You almost got her killed.
And you feel like complete shit.
The cherry on top just happens to be your boyfriend making you feel worse about you potentially hurting his ex.
“I’m sorry.” Is all you manage to say while staring at the ground and then walking away.
Percy had returned his attention to Annabeth who couldn’t forget your teary expression. She really didn’t hate you. She didn’t have any hard feelings toward you. So it didn’t sit well with her that Percy wasn’t treating you correctly.
“What's wrong with you seaweed brain?” She asks him and he looks up in confusion.
“What are you talking about?”
“Y/N? You practically kicked a sad puppy.” Percy crosses his arm, already getting defensive.
“She could’ve gotten you badly injured. She kept intervening.”
“She was helping.”
“She didn’t move after knocking you out! That thing would’ve run straight over you if I didn’t stop it.”
“Is there only kelp in that head?” She snaps rudely, “I’d hate to say I know your girlfriend better but she isn’t immune to PTSD. I doubt she purposely stood there waiting for the monster to run me over. I shouldn’t even be here today. We’ve studied enough for your SATs and finals, you’ll be fine seaweed brain, go to your girlfriend.” Annabeth’s words blew away the fog in Percy’s brain. You froze. As in flight or fight, you froze.
You froze and instead of comforting you, he yelled and pushed you away. Regret settled in his stomach at the realization of his intense fuck up.
“Are you going to apologize or sit here the entire day?” Annabeth stands up and extends her hand out to encourage him. He takes off running.
Your teary vision didn’t make the journey back home better. Tears would randomly leave your eyes despite your best efforts to push them away. You didn’t walk the entire way home. You were too drained to take the train, deciding to just hop in a cab.
Once you got home, you cried. You weren’t able to focus on one reason. Just that you felt awful and have been for a while. You wrapped your arms tightly around yourself as your sobs settled down and your eyes began to close.
That’s how Percy is seeing you now. Your arms are still around you, dried tears on your cheeks, your hair plastered by sweat, and a deep cut on your arm.
He feels like a failure of a boyfriend. He places his keys on the tray by the door, waking you up. You quickly sit up thinking it’s an intruder.
“Hey, hey. Relax. It’s me.” Percy weakly puts up his hands and you tense up. He notices.
“How’s Annabeth?” You ask, genuinely concerned. Even though you were there, your mind convinced you that she somehow could still be in danger because of you.
“She’s okay. Probably just a slight concussion.” Your shoulders finally relax and he takes the time to look at your arm again. He looks away as the guilt eats at him.
“I overreacted.” He admits but you shake your head.
“No, you were right. I should’ve not gotten in the way. I know you guys are stronger, I just thought I could… I don’t know, I'm sorry. I’ll do better next time.” Your eyes prickle with tears and Percy is instantly in front of you.
“Why did you freeze?” He asks you and the tears begin to fall. You hate feeling vulnerable.
“Was it the monster? That ugly-looking thing?” He asks trying to make you laugh but you can’t.
“It was like I was back there. Everything was okay and then things happened too quickly. It was too much.” You weren’t sure if he understood but he did. His therapist has helped him through enough flashbacks to know that’s what you had experienced.
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to snap at you.” He pulls you into a hug and you let him hold you. You always felt the safest when he was holding you close with his head above your shoulder, looking out for potential threats.
His phone rings and he pulls away from you. You didn’t have to see the screen to know who it was. Who else would it be? You could feel the disappointment building up as his finger hovers over the screen.
He pressed the decline button before placing his phone on the table.
“Wanna watch a movie?” He asks and you nod, happy to spend some alone time with your boyfriend.
— extra
Annabeth stood by the table spamming Percy’s phone with messages.
You forgot your phone.
And your backpack.
And your wallet.
Why do you have your social security in your wallet?
I’m treating myself to lunch ;)

SEVEN ROYALTIES
“once upon a time a prince mistakenly fell in love with the wrong princess” — kim sunoo
kim sunoo x fem!reader genre: mistakenly falling in love , strangers to lovers , fluff , a bit of angst ! warnings: none (at least not that im aware of! please update me if you find anything!!) || NOT FULLY PROOFREAD !!
WORD-COUNT ; 5.2k+
NOTE. besties its been A REAL WHILE!! i’ve been trying to balance my life but i fail miserably honestly. i wrote all of this on one of my free days instead of studying for math!!😭 you better like it or i’ll cry. please leave feedbacks!! i love reading them!! hope you have a good day / afternoon / evening / night!! mentions of jungwon’s story are here too!!<3
“y/n did you forget you have manners class today? get up!” your mother was the one to wake you up after your maids failed attempts, she pulled your blanket away and you groaned.
manners classes always annoyed you. probably because it had something to do with ‘how to act in front of your future husband’ rules and manners.
“do i have to go?” you whined. your mother raised her eyebrow, “did you really just ask me that question?”
you rolled your eyes and got up, “i’m up, you can go now”
she left your room without saying anything else. you sighed loudly and sat on your bed.
“good morning your highness, let’s get you ready” one of your maids smiled softly at you.
“give me only five more minutes” you begged and she shook her head, “your mother will get furious if you’ll be late”
you closed your eyes in defeat, you know she’s right. sometimes you wish your mother wouldn’t be so strict about everything in your life.
after getting ready you rushed to eat dinner with your parents, who were already waiting for you.
“mother, father” you greeted them, without even a good morning.
your relationship with your parents is quite weird. if you’d be asked to address it you would’ve said its a co-workers relationship. you barely talk about your problems with them, nor they ask about your well-being. all they care about is royalty, royalty and royalty.
“have you heard? hybe’s kingdom will have a ball for their youngest’s birthday” your father spoke.
“oh yes! i saw the invitation” your mother answered, “it’s a no-adults party except for his older brothers, y/n you’re invited there”
you glanced at your mother who was busy cutting her bread, “hm?”
“hybe kingdom invited all younger royals to celebrate the youngest son’s birthday, you’re definitely going!!” your mother smiled.
“you’ll be able to meet your future husband there! we didn’t want you two to meet up yet but who knows, maybe it’ll be a start of something” your father added.
“we’ll tell you into more details later, now go to your class! your teacher is waiting” your mother ordered and you did as she said.
you’ve had manners classes as soon as you turned into a beautiful young lady, according to your mom, you should’ve taken them earlier—so you’d be more prepared and will have some manners in front of her friends.
when you turned fifteen, your family already informed you they decided on your future husband, and you had no option to resist, they forced this marriage on you and didn’t even give you the chance to say no.
you’ve never heard of the man, you don’t know anything about him. the only thing you do know is that you’re going to get married to him as soon as you turn 21 which means, your clock is ticking and you’re slowly going out of options.
ever since you can remember yourself, you wanted your own fairytale love story, a one love story that will make anyone envy you, a one true love story you can use when you want to tell your future kids a night story, a one true love story where you’d be the one to pick the person you’ll spend the rest of your life with.
your parents however, thought it was a good joke, and always used to laugh at it.
“true love story? there’s no such a thing” your mother always says.
“we got married for the benefit of our kingdoms, and we fell in love through the marriage, you’ll get to experience it too” your father adds.
“marrying someone you don’t know isn’t that bad! you’ll get to know each other after the wedding” your parents both love to laugh about it whenever they could.
your manners class should’ve been called ‘how to be a good wife’ class in your opinion, you learn nothing other than how to behave around your future husband and how to take care of him. stupid primitive royalties.
“good morning y/n, let’s get to class quickly” your teacher who had been waiting for you in your usually room greeted you and you greeted her back.
“what do you do if your husband tells you that he’s tired from duties and he’s hungry but the maids are already asleep?” you teacher asked.
you sighed before answering, “i get up and massage him, then go to the kitchen and make him something the eat”
your teacher clapped her hands in excitement, “that’s all for today, good job!”
this life is tiring.
when you look at your other friends who you’ve met in ball events, they seem to enjoy their single life. none of them was promised to marry someone they don’t like, so where did you go wrong?
feeling too tired from class, you decided to go and take a short nap, it wouldn’t hurt to go back to sleep right? it’s not like you have something important to do anyway.
before going to nap you laid down on your bed and stared at the ceiling.
“will i ever get to meet the person i would choose to marry?” you asked yourself before you drafted to sleep.
“sunoo!! focus!” while you were sleeping loudly, the fifth prince of hybe kingdom was busy taking manners class.
“i was just now at (your kingdom’s name) kingdom, how come it’s easier to teach ladies than gentlemen?” his teacher complained.
his teacher is your teacher as well, but of course both of you doesn’t know that.
“i apologize” sunoo quickly then bowed as an apologetic gesture.
“focus!” the teacher tsked and sunoo sat straight.
“if your wife comes home from duties and she tells you she’s quite tired, what do you do?” she asked.
“i’d ask her to tell me how her day was and i’ll make her some food” sunoo smiled widely and the teacher shook her head.
“no, no, no! you ask your maids to make her something to eat!” his teacher sounded disappointed.
sunoo pout, he didn’t understand the logic behind it all, a husband needs to take care of his wife, and what are those manners classes? who made those stupid classes anyway?
out of all 7 brothers, his parents chose him as the one who needs to suffer the most in his opinion.
sunoo is the only one who has been taking manners classes, and he’s the only one who’s promise to marry someone he doesn’t know.
does his parents think he won’t be able to find someone he’d like to marry?
“that’s it for today, practice and study more! for the next time i want you to be better” the teacher left without giving him a chance to send her off.
she must be really angry then, huh?
sunoo then sighed and gathered his papers.
“tough day?” he heard a voice and shoot his eyes to the figure who was standing right at the door.
“you could say that” sunoo nodded and dropped his glance.
jungwon pitied his older brother, he has always been the one to suffer from their parents’ endless bickering, and jungwon always wondered why’s that.
“just hold it in for a while, it’s going to end soon” jungwon walked closer to his brother and pat his shoulder.
sunoo groaned, “easy for you to say, you already basically know who you’re going to marry”
jungwon smiled a bit, “mom and dad are starting to get on your nerves, aren’t they?”
sunoo nodded, “can’t they just let me live my life the way i want to?”
a door slammed and you woke up immediately.
“i apologize your majesty, the queen asked me to wake you up from your nap” one of your maids said, “she wants to meet you in the garden”
you dismissed your maid and went down to your castle’s garden, your favorite place on earth.
“mother,” you called her, “you were asking for me”
your mother who was sitting on one of the benches turned her glance to you and smiled, “do you know why i called you, y/n?” she asked.
you shook your head and moved closer to her.
“your wedding of course!” she opened her arms and hugged you.
you let out a big sigh, of course! why would she want to talk with you about anything else?
“i’m joking, joking” she giggled, “i was a bit bored, i wouldn’t mind some company”
you nodded and proceeded to sit on the bench next to her. both of you sat in silence, she looked pretty relaxed, but you’re always being extra careful around her.
“have you ever heard of hybe kingdom?” she suddenly asked.
“no, the only thing i know about them is that they’re seven siblings, and each one is soon to get a throne”
“their family is quite weird i must say,” your mother chuckled, “the oldest son is going to marry a commoner! can you believe it??”
you nodded, “if they really do love each other, they deserve to be happy together”
your mother looked at you in disbelief, “it’s not a good reason to break a royal rule!” she argued.
“what royal rule? they’re ancient and no one’s even looking at them anymore!!” you argued back.
“ancient or not!! a royal rule is a royal rule!!”
“sometimes love is more important than a stupid rule!!”
“you—“ your mother stopped for a second to take a deep breathe, “if that’s another way of you to try and convince me to let you marry whoever you want, it’s not going to work”
you rolled your eyes and looked away, “you don’t even realize how important it is to me” you mumbled and she stayed quiet, completely ignoring what you’ve just said.
“you’re going to meet your soon to be husband at hybe’s kingdom party, you should be prepared”
eventually you left her alone and went back to your room, you had nothing to talk about together anyway.
“there you are sunoo!! we’ve been searching for you!!” hybe’s queen remarked.
“hello mother” sunoo whispered.
“your teacher told me you’re not doing well!! sunoo, what’s wrong with you?” she raised her voice and sunoo shut his eyes.
“if you’d just let me feel free and let me do what i want maybe i’ll be able to be mannered enough for you!” he spoke back and his mother stepped back.
“sunoo!!”
“what? did i say something wrong? instead of letting me find someone i’d truly love and want to marry, you’re forcing me into it!” he raised his voice back.
“this is not up to discussion!! your marriage is final!” his mother fired back, “it’s okay if you dont love her now, you’ll force yourself into it and eventually fall in love!”
sunoo sighed and tears filled his eyes, “you’d never let me live the way i want to, would you?”
his mother stayed quiet and he slowly nodded, “got it” he whispered and went to his room.
the next mornings felt all the same, manners class and getting back to sleep, it was the same for sunoo, other than the fact that he had to help his younger brothers with their own love stories. love stories that he’d never have.
“i don’t know what to do, it hurts, i miss her” jungwon cried to his older brother as he hugged him and suggested him a few steps.
looking at his brothers living freely as they want made him really happy for them, but also envy them for being their parents’ favorite in his opinion.
eventually, ni-ki’s birthday came and everyone around the castle were busy getting ready.
“good morning sunoo! time to get ready” the maids said and he barely got himself up.
“you’re going to meet your soon-to-be wife!! isn’t that exciting?” jay, who came in together with sunoo’s maids, decided to tease him a bit.
sunoo groaned and covered himself with his pillow.
“get up sleepy head! it’s your brother’s birthday today!! at least wish him a happy birthday!!” jay took the pillow and threw it at him a few times.
sunoo really didnt want to wake up today. dont get him wrong, he loves his brother, its just something about today that makes it extremely hard for him to wake up.
“right, what was her name again?” this was the exact reason sunoo couldn’t wake up, his parents couldn’t even recall his future wife’s name!
“nevermind, you need to go get ready!” his father commented.
“you’ll know it when you see her, she’s awfully pretty!” both of them said and pushed him back to his room to get ready.
“oh my dear! you’re awfully pretty!” your mother clapped as you gave her a twirl of your dress.
“you’re only saying that because you’re my mom” you scoffed and she shook her head.
“you really are really pretty, our pretty princess” your father got involved and smiled.
you gave them a short smile, “thank you—“
“can you believe it? you’re going to meet your future husband!! are you ready for it?” your mother stepped closer to you, cupping your cheeks in both hands.
“no” you sighed. “well then, be ready for it! we don’t want him to think you’re messy and unorganized”
what does not being ready for this even have to do with being messy and unorganized??
you just nodded and closed your eyes. if you start crying now, the beautiful makeup your maid had put on you would get ruined.
“we’re so proud of you, y/n” both of them said and you just nodded.
“oh! you look exactly like a prince” his brother sunghoon remarked. “i didnt look like one up until now?” sunoo rolled his eyes but sunghoon only chuckled.
“hey im just joking, you look really good sunoo” the older complimented him and sunoo smiled, “thank you”
“off you go!! enjoy the party!” your parents said as they sent you off to hybe kingdom, with a thumping heart you smiled and nodded.
five minutes into the drive and it finally sank into your mind, your parents never mentioned his name, not even once.
quick!! what should you do?? risk it all and just continue the drive and hope to find him in mysterious way? or get back to your parents and ask them for it??
obviously option one is the best option.
“we have arrived, your majesty” your driver informed you and went out to open the door for you.
you took a few deep breaths, “you can do it”
as you got out you saw lots of princesses and princes, all entering the big and beautiful castle.
“please welcome princess y/n from (name of kingdom)” the door opened for you and all eyes were on you, you hated it, you hated this welcoming.
it was somehow a royal thing, to inform of a royal entering a castle, but then what? it drew everyone’s attention to you.
you felt everyone’s gaze on you, mumbling nothings and whispering whatever. you slowly entered deep into the crowd until the other royals didnt care about you anymore.
“hello there, beauty” you heard someone say, you turned around to meet with a very pretty looking guy.
“hello” you replied back and extended him your hand for him to kiss.
you hated this too, the feeling of a stranger on your hand, why was this even a royal rule??
“i couldn’t stand seeing you alone so—“
“and finally, please welcome the hybe family” all of your heads turned to the door.
first one to enter was prince heeseung, you could see him searching for a specific person in the crowd and as soon as he saw her, he smiled.
second to enter was prince jay, he looked super focused, he too, was searching for a specific person in the crowd.
third to enter was prince jake, he looked so peaceful somehow, as if he already knew where was the specific person he was searching for.
fourth to enter was prince sunghoon and god, his visuals were no joke, whoever will end up with him definitely won a handsome one of a kind.
fifth to enter was prince sunoo, as soon as he entered you felt as if the world had stopped.
you two somehow made an eye contact for a few good seconds, as if he already found the person he was searching for.
is he….? no, he can’t be, can he?
the voice of the welcoming of the sixth prince woke you up from your deep thoughts.
sixth to enter was prince jungwon, he looked around, smiling at everyone while obviously trying to search for someone.
“and lastly, please welcome the birthday boy, riki!” as the seventh prince riki entered, everyone clapped and cheered.
only he, was smirking at everyone. he was definitely up to something.
as the party started, you started to feel tired. what if you just ditch early? no one will notice anyway.
you started walking towards what you thought was the exit, turns out it was a door for the castle’s garden.
“great, how do i get out now” you mumbled.
you heard steps behind you and turned around immediately.
your eyes widened as you saw the person that was standing in front of you.
“hello” he said with a warm smile.
“prince sunoo” you whispered under your breath, “hello”
“you probably have already heard who i am, but i’m sunoo” he said and bowed to you.
you couldn’t understand why, but you felt your cheeks heating up. focus y/n, focus!!
is he your promised prince?
“i’m l/n y/n” you introduced yourself with a curtsy, sunoo took your hand and kissed the back of it, “you look awfully pretty, y/n”
you said you hated it, hated it when a stranger kissed your hand, but why did it feel so different when he did it?
you wanted him to keep kissing your hand, and maybe not only your hand.
no, y/n what are you thinking!!
sunoo couldn’t explain it, ever since he laid his eyes on you, he felt something.
you were so, so pretty in his eyes. he saw the whole crowd but his eyes only looked at you. he wanted to get to know you more, he’s more than 100% sure you’re promised to him, how could his parents forget your beautiful name?
and if it turns out you’re not the one who’s promised to him, he’s more than determined now to make you his wife.
“would you like to have a dance y/n?” he suddenly asked, looking into your soft eyes.
you could still hear the music at the back, you enjoy dancing anyway, so why not?
“i’d love that” you replied.
sunoo took your hand and guided you, you were extremely close to each other.
your hands were around his neck, and his held your waist.
“how come i’ve never seen you before?” he asked.
“i’m not the type to go to royal celebrations, i came here for the first time since i’m kind of forced to meet my future husband” you replied softly.
“future husband?” sunoo disappointedly looked down.
did you already find your future husband? your promised one?
you shook your hand, “i have yet to find him, but now that i’m being here with you…” you stayed quiet for a bit, “i think i found him”
oh you were bold. what if he already has someone he’s going to marry to?
“oh,” he suddenly said and chuckled, “i think i already found my future wife too”
both of you shared a long eye contact, god he was so attractive and you were so beautiful in his eyes.
you changed position and crossed your hands together, going in circle while not even breaking your eye contact for a mere second.
you didn’t want to let go of each other, as the song ended, so did your dance.
you decided to sit on one of the benches at the garden and share a little conversation.
a little conversation ended up lasting for almost until midnight. you’ve been at the garden since eight pm.
you talked about your hobbies, your family, your miserable life with your manners classes.
“no way! you’re having them too?? i thought only my parents were old school” he said in excitement.
“yeah, i guess both of us are experiencing the old school parents” you chuckled.
the conversation just kept on going further and further until the maids reminded you it’s time to go.
both of you got up from the bench and looked at each other.
“i don’t want this night to end” you pout.
sunoo giggled and put his hands around your waist.
“i don’t want it to end either” he replied.
it was a comforting silence between the two of you, until he started getting closer.
“can i…..?” he asked and you nodded.
he crushed his lips on yours and held you tightly. you kissed him back and put your hands around his neck.
the kiss was so innocent and sweet, as if you’re having your first teen love.
as you slowly let go of the kiss you opened your eyes and giggled.
“there you—am i interrupting something?” you recognize this prince, it’s prince jake.
“not at all, i was just about to leave” you said after and curtsied to the prince.
you walked away but not before whispering into sunoo’s ear, “hopefully i get to see you again”
as you left, jake pushed sunoo and cheered for him. “you found her didn’t you!!”
sunoo smiled, his cheeks still blushing from the kiss you shared a few minutes ago. it was just like in the love stories he liked to read.
“oh! her name is minju!”
no. this can’t be.
after the celebration, his parents came up to him to ask him how was meeting his future wife.
only then he realized he has been wrong this whole time.
“what?” he asked.
they nodded and smiled, “we’re so glad you enjoyed! we were actually worried about you not liking her”
“i need to sleep” he mumbled.
“what?”
“i need to sleep now” he said louder.
his parents left his room, shocked and speechless. did they say something wrong?
“y/n dear, how was the party?” your parents came up to you, they’ve probably been waiting for you to get back.
you knew they didn’t really care about the party, but more about the person you’ve met there.
you already knew that the person you’re promised to marry wasn’t sunoo, but you couldn’t help it but fall in love with him.
you realized it wasn’t sunoo halfway into your conversation. your parents told you a few facts about your future husband, and none of them matched sunoo. still, you kept on spending the night with him instead of going to search your promised one.
“it was fine” you replied.
“just fine….?” they asked surprised.
“yeah”
“what about….?”
“oh, it was amazing actually, i already feel myself falling for him, he’s the person i want to marry to and no one else” you smiled, “ever since i saw him i only think of him”
your parents looked at you in confusion. they weren’t expecting to hear that from you, especially because you hated this idea.
“are you…doing okay?” they asked and you nodded, cheeks heating up after remembering your past events.
“i’ll be going to sleep now” you skipped to your room happily, leaving your parents dumbfounded.
the next day you woke up, “y/n! you got a letter” one of your maids brought your letter to you and you opened it.
‘meet me at xxxx around 9pm — sunoo’
you smiled after reading the letter, and you couldn’t help but wait for the eve to come.
around 8:30pm you sneaked out, telling your parents you weren’t feeling well and getting out slowly and surely, no one noticed you.
you arrived the place and waited for him. you sat on a bench and looked at the sky.
the sky was so dark and the stars were shining brightly, you enjoyed looking at the sky, until you couldn’t see anything.
someone covered your eyes, “guess who” you heard a familiar voice and chuckled.
“my future husband” you said.
this new nickname you gave him made him flutter each time he hears it coming out of your mouth.
he removed his hands and pecked your cheeks, “ding ding ding, we have a winner” he smiled and went to sit next to you on the bench.
“i missed you” he added.
“you saw me yesterday” you replied.
“24 hours without seeing you, my heart can’t handle it” he held his hand against his heart and you rolled your eyes, “you’re so cheesy”
“you didnt mind it yesterday” he shrugged, “i still don’t”
both of you chuckled and kept talking with a wide smile all over your faces.
the two of you knew, you knew you’re not promised to each other, you knew you won’t end up getting married to each other, so why does none of you bring this up?
you kept talking and talking without even realizing it was past 3 am. you have manners class later today, you have to get some sleep.
“you have to go?” he asked and you nodded sadly.
“my parents will kill me if i dont wake up in time” you sighed.
“let’s meet up tomorrow too, same time, same place” he said and you nodded.
you pecked his lips and ran back, leaving him with blushing cheeks.
none of you wants to admit it, but you’re not going to end up together. so you’ll just spend your time together as long as you can, holding into the fact that maybe, maybe you actually will have a chance to marry each other.
your sneaking out became a usual thing for you and sunoo, you really did keep your promise and met up every day.
“how do you want our wedding to be?” he asked you once.
your head was resting on his lap as he caressed your hair.
“my family, your family, and maybe just a few important royals, in your castle too, because that’s where we first met” you smiled and he smiled back at you.
both of you knew it’s not really going to happen, but you still held into the hope that maybe, against all the odds, maybe you will be able to change your fate.
“i love it, what do you think about honeymoon?” he asked in addition to the wedding part and you just giggled.
as you came back to your room that day from meeting sunoo, you noticed a figure sitting on your bed.
you got scared and immediately turned on the lights, just to notice it was your mother.
“mother,” you whispered.
“i thought you’re not feeling well?” she asked seriously.
“i-i went to catch some air—“ “dont try to excuse yourself” she said firmly.
you looked down and sighed, “i met up with my future husband”
her serious face turned into a wide smile, “really? what did you two—“
“kim sunoo from hybe kingdom” you cut her off as you just now told her who you met up.
“what?” she asked, the wide smile turning into confusion.
“i met up with sunoo, my future husband” you boldly said.
your mother laughed, “that was a good joke! dont scare me like that again” she continued to laugh but her laugh faded when she noticed you were serious.
“oh, you’re serious?” she asked and you nodded.
“i want to marry sunoo, mom” you said.
“that’s not possible” she argued.
“why not? i love him, he’s the person i want to marry” you said.
“a no is a no, i don’t want to argue about it” she got up.
“but i do, i won’t marry any other person, even that ‘future husband’ you’ve been telling me to marry” you’re a one stubborn child, and you’re not going to give up on sunoo that easily.
your mother sighed, “i will not argue about this with you, you’re grounded, i’ll put hundreds of guards around just to keep you here” she raised her voice.
“you can try and keep me here all you want! it’s not going to change my feelings!” you shout as she went out of your room.
sunoo wasn’t doing any better, he too, got caught as he came back.
“no!” his mother argued, “you’re promised to marry minji and that’s final! i don’t want to hear another word!”
sunoo scoffed, “out of all seven of us, you chose to be strict with me, now that i finally found someone i love, you’re taking her away from me? why did you let heeseung marry a commoner then?” he shout.
his mother stayed speechless.
“exactly, you have no good reason” he said in disbelief.
“you’re not allowed to go out anymore until you realize what you just did, minju is your future wife and no one else” she said before smacking the door.
while both of you weren’t allowed out of your castles, you could send letters one to other.
you kept communicating through that, however, it was slow and hard as one letter per day came in.
on one of the days you shared dinner with your parents, as usual you stayed quiet and didn’t talk to neither of them.
only today was different, “y/n,” your father called you but you ignored.
“we’ve decided to break off the agreement with the other kingdom” he continued and your eyes light up.
“me and your mother decided it’s what best for you, and we want nothing more than to see you happy” he said.
“does that mean…..?” you whispered and your mother nodded, “you can marry prince sunoo, we talked some sense in his parents too”
you looked at the clock and saw the time, 8:30pm.
you looked over your parents, “can i….?” and they nodded.
you pushed away your chair and ran out of the castle to search for your sunoo.
you arrived at your place with a wild smile, expecting to see him already, your smile faded as you saw no one.
your eyes teared up, until someone covered your eyes behind you, “guess who”
without waiting, you turned around and hugged the person you were so longing for.
“my future husband, my real future husband” you cried into the hug as he hugged you back tightly, not wanting to let you go.
“i missed you” he said and you cupped his face.
“i love you” you said before kissing him.
you caught him off guard but he was quick to kiss you back, holding your waist and getting you closer to him than ever.
both of you pulled away when you felt you were out of air.
you pressed your foreheads against each other with eyes closed, “it’s been so long, it feels so good to hold you again, i love you” he said and you smiled.
“i was wondering how long it’s going to take for my parents to realize i only want to marry you” you chuckled.
“took them too long” he scoffed and you nodded.
“what’s important is that you’re here now” you whispered.
“i’m here, forever and ever, i love you”

Heyyy… long time no see! I’ve been meaning to finish and post this on ao3 for ages but work and college have gotten very much in the way of me finishing it, I decided I wanted to post this Fic here instead of letting it rot in my Google doc! If anyone wants me to continue it, I’d be more then happy to pick it back up! Anywho, I hope y’all enjoy!!
~This fic uses Y/N heavily but that may change in the future(if I pick it up again) Price is in green and the reader is purple! The professor(s) will all be in orange!!~
~Freshman year: Semester 1~
"Welcome to your first class of the semester students!"
It's 9:00 am, a group of 20-30 students are seated in a beige room alongside me as we listen to our English teacher, Mr. Williams introduce himself and take attendance. I'm seated in the last row in the back of the auditorium room away from the majority of the students. I didn't have many friends at this college since I had decided to attend a community college several cities away from the one I grew up in, not only that I had also taken a gap year to save some money. I looked around at the other students in the class, the majority of them seemed to have come straight from high school and seemed younger than I was. Of course there were a few that seemed around my age, one specifically peaked my attention...
Mr. Williams projected an image up on the screen of our first assignment of the semester, it had paired up names and the thesis topic we each needed to present at the end of the next upcoming week. I could hear the audible groans coming from my fellow classmates, I simply lowered my head and hoped the person I would be paired up with wasn't an asshole.
"Now-now students, don't get so excited about this! I'll be ending class early so you can meet your partners and begin working on your assignment as soon as possible. This will go towards your final grade and will not be curved! Now get to it!" Mr. Williams left the projected image up for us to find our partners and headed to his office to work on his other classroom's paperwork. I walked up to the projector and searched for my name,
"Y/N... L/N..." I softly repeated to myself as I went through the list. Once I finally found my name I saw the name of my assigned partner, 'Jonathan Price'. With this I looked around the now busy and loud room, I scanned the area and searched for my partner. After a few quick scans, I was able to spot a tall guy with mutton chops and a large frame who seemed to be doing the same as I was. Our eyes met, it was brief but it was enough time to acknowledge each other and realize we had found one another, I waved at him and quickly made my way over to him. I walked through the large crowd of students as I made my way to his general location.
I stood in front of him taking in how incredibly tall he actually was, definitely over 6', not only that he was pretty muscular... I snapped out of my slight trance as I extended my hand out to him.
"Hi! I'm going to assume you're Jonathan Price?" I flash a kind smile at him as I hoped I hadn't mistaken him for another person. "Hello! I am in fact him! But please, Call me John. I'll assume you're Y/N? Its nice to finally have a face to the name!” He said as he reached for my hand to shake, his lips curve into a soft and gentle smile. His grip was strong around my hand, It reminded me of my father's handshake in a way or what I imagine it would feel like to get a handshake from Shaq. After a few moments he let go of the grip he had on my hand and stood in front of me awkwardly for a moment, I broke the silence between us by suggesting we head to the library to escape the noisy classroom and start on our thesis assignment. We walked alongside each other and reserved a study room for the two of us.
"I'm glad we got out of there, it felt like I had to yell for you to hear me. Anyways, We should start now so we don't procrastinate about it later!"

Goldenheart AU Pt. 5
I'm back, now with Meredith Blitzmeyer's backstory! Also:
@echoing-locations had this genius idea so I'll be incorporating this into my own stuff. Highly suggest checking out parts 1-4 if you haven't. [Part 1] [Part 2] [Part 3] [Part 4]
Also feel free to put your own ideas in the replies/tags/whatever, I love seeing other people's additions!
Quick question too, I was thinking about maybe making Nimona a shapeshifter in this AU too? I'd have to change some stuff and they wouldn't be born as a shapeshifter and we'd have some panicking Ballister because what the fuck is going on, his sibling is a wolf now. What y'all think?
Also, final quick note, I'm starting the draft for the first chapter (because yes this is ultimately a fanfic now), so it should be up in the next two weeks or so if anyone's interested.
Anyways, I'll get into it now.
Meredith Blitzmeyer
Meredith had always been a curious, but smart girl
She dedicated most of her time to her studies, trying to get the best grades possible, because she wanted to be a scientist in the future
Well, more so her father wanted her to be one.
Her father was the owner of a pretty successful robotic company that specialized in prosthetics that were always sold at a lower price for people who couldn't afford high priced ones
And they were always excellent quality and could be sold at higher prices, but her father always insisted that he preferred to help the people in need than get rich, and she had always admired him for it
And her father always went around friends and family exclaiming how smart she was for her age and that she was most definitely going to be a scientist or some sort of advanced mechanic in the future
Meredith had always believed that's what she wanted to be, because don't get her wrong, she loves science, but things changed when she turned 12 and was invited to a concert by one of her few friends
She had snuck out to go see it, because as open minded as her father was, there were still things he didn't approve of one bit, and concerts were one of them. Still, she went against his word and joined her friend there
She had loved all of it, but had preferred the guitarist over all
She had spent the whole show watching in wonder at how free all the people on stage looked, how controlled the chaos seemed to be, and from then on, she knew she wanted to be in a band
The only problem is that her father would never approve of this, and would most likely push her even more towards science in hopes she would forget about all of this if she ever approached him with the idea
Still, she watching some videos online at home and managed to not get too enraptured in it until she noted that classes for guitar/electric guitar were given at her school and before she knew it she was sitting in a room with a guitar in her hands and was learning how to play it
After almost three years, she was getting good and was highly considering getting her own guitar to practice at home too instead of just the hour and a half ever Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays
But there was no way her 15 year old self would manage to sneak a whole guitar past her father
So when her science teacher gave them the task of making/building their own whatever they wanted, she knew she had to jump on the opportunity and combined two things she loved: mechanics/science and music
She got it past her dad by stating that she was assigned this specific thing and didn't have a choice but to make it unless she wanted to fail, and he didn't look into it more
For the next months, she was spending most of her time in her study making plans, building the guitar, checking the strings, until she had the final result of a beautiful dark blue guitar that sounded wonderful
Even after she got full marks on that project, she kept the guitar and practiced at home in secret, getting even better as the years passed, and when she finally turned 21, she moved cities and got a small apartment
She didn't have too much troubles with the neighbors, though getting some complaints about explosions (which stopped once she actually got a lab, an empty tower in the woods which were around half an hour away in a car), but no one minded her music and she'd gotten compliments from quite a few people
Around three years later, when she was 24. a family moved in the apartment right in front of hers, parents with two children, one around 13 and the other 24
She didn't think much of them, but after they moved in and music came from their apartment as well as hers, well she just had to meet them
And that's that.
I may or may not want to inspire Meredith's dad just a bit off of Comic Ballister with the science and prosthetic and all.
Next part will probably be about how our trio met and bonded, as well as how the actual band got created. And yes I'm using these posts as plans for the fanfic.
Again, don't be afraid to add on to these with your own ideas, I love to hear them!

Self – Introduction
[activity from Purposive Communication subject (COM101) in my 1st year(PNC) dated 10.17.20]
I am Jan Avriel R. Vapor, currently 18 years old, eldest daughter of the family and the middle child. I had two older brothers, one younger sister and one younger brother, so we are a total of 5 siblings. What I really love to do from the past years is to listen to the songs I love, which suits the moods I am experiencing every single day. Listening to music gives me a very hopeful day, a healing one, whenever I am feeling tired or down and just being hyped up till I dance with the beat. I would say dancing is another interest I became attached to from these past years, and I would love to join in more dance competitions or dance groups someday if I had a chance. I often sing alone since listening to music daily makes me want to sing all out my voice along with it. But I am not yet confident in my voice, so I am just gonna keep it to myself. These are just some of the hobbies I love doing the most but spending time alone and just worrying about nothing, like being a care - free person would be the most enjoyable moment I want to experience again.
Though I did not yet formally graduate from my past school, I took the strand of ABM back in Senior High School. In this college year, I want to pursue anything related to my past strand and maybe try to challenge myself even more because I am not yet confident if I would make it in this course of accountancy. I am not that good yet in analyzing, but I'm still willing to learn until I can master it. If I can prove that, then my parents would feel even more proud of me. I am actually thankful for Pamantasan ng Cabuyao doing a special examination back on September 12, which I considered as my last chance. It was my last chance to whether study in college or not, but luckily, I passed the examination. I couldn't believe it myself that day because my friend told me she struggled a lot in passing but anyway she is a student too in Pamantasan ng Cabuyao. I was just really grateful that Pamantasan ng Cabuyao gave a chance like this to students like me who almost did not continue entering college but instead to find jobs after this pandemic.
Since it would be my first time attending one of these days for this subject, I am expecting that this would just be familiar as well from what we had from Senior High School years. I loved the English subject even before, and I had a pretty fun experience and learned a lot in our Communication subject in Grade 11, so I think I could give my best shot for this subject too. I would love to learn even more through this subject, which can improve and correct my communication skills in the future. Though I am both still trying to catch up with my classmates from their past lessons and doing the present activities, I would even work hard to study more after catching up. I am so thankful to have teachers who made considerations for me as I am a very late student, so I would do my best for this subject too.

Week 5 — You're On Your Own, Kid
Yesterday during class, the topic of MCO and the pandemic in general was brought up. We were asked about our experiences studying during the pandemic, and for the first time in a while the memories of that time which I had stored in the back of my mind came flooding back to me. And just like that, the decision for the topic of this week's entry was settled. So, here is the story of the highs and lows I experienced with my studies and mental health during the pandemic, as well as how I've forged ahead since then.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。..・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。..・。.・゜✭
I'll go ahead and say that 2021 was one of, if not the worst year of my life so far. A harsh emphasis on "so far" as I know that I have barely even lived this life and there is so much more I have yet to face. But of the most painful moments I've endured so far, 2021 was filled with many heart-wrenching memories that still affect me to this day when I reflect on it.
I was 17 then, a high school student going through the motions of life during the pandemic with online classes, while simultaneously preparing for SPM. Though this lifestyle had been going on since 2020, it never got easier but instead led to burnout in majority of my batchmates and other students. Despite not being one of the highest achievers prior to the pandemic, my teachers and the people around me had high expectations for me, not knowing that I was in one of the lowest points of my life.
I have never felt so hopeless and unmotivated for such a long period of time. Stuck in what felt like a never-ending rut with my life going downhill but having no desire or energy to get out of it. Fearless, even though I was completely unprepared for the biggest exam of my life because I had already lost all hope, yet the anxiety was eating at me every single day. Feeling so directionless in life because there was nothing I wanted to pursue or dreams I wanted to achieve post-SPM. And on top of all that, bearing this guilt of being a disappointment to everyone in my life; I can't begin to describe how lonely and trapped I felt inside my own head at that point.
It went on like this until SPM was around the corner. The only ways I managed to cope were through seeking comfort from my closest friends, writing words of encouragement in sticky notes and pasting them into my planner, creating a gratitude journal of all the things I was grateful for, and writing a letter to my future self that I would read at the end of that year. In other words, showing myself lots of kindness, forgiveness, and empathy; being mindful and acknowledging my situation was the most crucial practice for my mental health at the time. And in the end, although my SPM results were nothing extraordinary compared to my peers, yet I was beyond proud of myself for making it through the most difficult patch in my life.
Fast forward to 2 years later, I managed to achieve a CGPA of 3.93 for foundation as well as acquire the Dean's List award. The bittersweetness I felt on the day of the Foundation Award Ceremony is still so fresh in my mind. "I should been ecstatic" I thought, but in reality I spent more of that day re-reading the letter my 17-year old self wrote about her struggles, sympathising as I recalled how much she went through. Nevertheless, I took it as a reminder of my capabilities, and to trust that everything in my life would fall into place; I was exactly where I needed to be back then in order to be where I am today.
As of now, degree has been a little stressful and anxiety-inducing so far. At times I found myself doubting my abilities and questioning if I will return to how well I performed during foundation. Hence, this topic seemed fitting to write on while I attempt to start having faith in myself once again. There are many other obstacles that I will have to face, and the idea of being knocked down or facing the unknown can be discouraging and scary sometimes. But this experience in itself has given me hope, for I have faced and conquered all that was in my path previously, and therefore I know that I can do it again.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。..・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。..・。.・゜✭
Song of the Week! As the title suggests, this was the song that represented how I felt throughout my journey with my studies and my mental health. Considering the fact that it was my most played song last year, it has definitely gotten me through many instances when it was tough to persevere and serves as a reminder of my resilience. The lyrics "you've got no reason to be afraid" have particularly stuck with me, being a source of encouragement and strength to believe in myself every time I encounter a rough patch. In other words, a song incredibly dear to me.

“So y/n what did your mom say?” Your best friend Aya had texted you last night but you fell asleep early due to the argument you had with your parents last night.
You and Aya had a dream to study abroad in the US after you finish college, but your parents said No. your grades were just awful.
They weren’t really that bad, they were just C’s. Nothing higher. To the average school student, those grades were passable. Not too low but to too high.
But your parents weren’t the average school student. Nah. They were strict and cared for your future.
You had good grades at the start of high school. Until you entered a little rebellion near the end of high school and your grades started to slip, you skipped school more than often and spent majority of your days outside instead of your actual home.
Your parents were growing sick and tired of you, and eventually your relationship fell to shit. Whenever you even try to have a simple discussion with them, it ends in arguments. So you don’t bother.
So you could imagine the look of horror on your parents face last night when you had told them you want to study abroad.
The talk turned heated really fast and you just went into your bedroom to cry, falling asleep before you could respond to Aya. Early this morning, your mother entered your room and uttered an apology for her behaviour last night which you hesitantly accepted.
She gave you one offer. If you pass college with straight A’s. Nothing more nothing less, she would support your decision to move abroad after college and will supply you with money every so often to make your stay worth it.
It seemed good enough for you. You still had a good 7 months left of school to try and fix your grades before you went. And getting a job as a foreigner in the US seemed difficult so you were happy they would be sending you money so often.
So you accepted the deal.
“So now I have to get my shit together.” You clapped your hands together after explaining the entire story to Aya who had a weird look on her face. “What?” You asked and she shrugged, “I mean,” she paused for a moment, “its amazing your parents are going to support you and all but… straight A’s? Do you know how impossible that is? Not even the smartest student in school got straight A’s.”
Now you started to panic. You brought your phone out seeing the time read 8:56. Okay, just four minutes until first period started. "I'll be right back," You stood up from your chair and bolted outside the classroom, down the hallway to the board where the top 150 students placed after last terms exams.
You looked at #1 on the list and yeah. They got one A, the rest were B's. Fuck. You had forgotten just how difficult college was.
By the time you had re-entered the classroom, the teacher was already sat down at his desk, but the time read 8:59, so you weren't late, he just came in super early.
Taking your seat next to Aya, she looked at you before patting you on the back. "It's okay, I can help you through this. We will go US together, that's a promise."
"Yeah." you honestly had given up all hope.
"Okay class, as you know, new term new assessments. This term will be project based, meaning there will be no exams. You will just have this full term to work on the project and hand it in before next term."
The Lord was on your side today. Projects? Shit was easy. Better than cramming a bunch of nonsense into your head for a 2 hour exam.
"You hear that y/n?!" Aya turned to face you, "Projects are easy! We got this in the bag!"
You were starting to regain hope, a small smile forming on your face before the teacher spoke up again. "I will be putting you into groups before you all get too excited."
Groans and complaints could be heard from the class as there was a chance that they wouldn't be able to do this with their friends. Aya looked at you nervously, the chances of you two being together were low. Espeically since you two messed around in class a lot, so the teacher already doesn't like you.
You just prayed you parterened up with somebody smart. Yeah, hope still is there.
"Okay first we got.." The teacher put on his glasses as he started to read, "Itō and Aya."
Aya looked around the class to see this alleged Itō. He waved her over and she stood up, holding her bag before whispering goodbye to you as she moved on over to his seat.
You slumped down in your seat. You already knew it was going to low chance you were going to be with her, but it still hurt.
The next 40 seconds he skimmed down the list and you were awaiting for your partner. He stared at you for a moment, then back to the sheet, then back at you. "Y/N and Rindou."
RINDOU?! Your heart sank. The last time you had seen Rindou in class was about 2 months ago. He hasn't showed up since.
Isn't this perfect? You got an MIA partner to work on this project with.
"Um sir," you raised your hand up. You refused to work with Rindou. "Rindou hasn't been in for months, is it okay if I find a new partner? Or work in a 3? Or by myself?" Please let me work in a three...
"Oh yeah, I had forgotten about Rindou's attendance. Hm, let me think," the teacher paused for a moment, until the door burst open. All mirth drained from your face, Rindou walked into the classroom with a distasteful look on his face.
"Oh, never mind he's here. Rindou, go and sit next to Y/N please to get started on your project." The teacher smiled.
Rindou trailed his eyes across the classroom, eyes landing on you before moving back to the teacher. "Project?" He asked confused,
"Yes proj-," Before the teacher could even explain Rindou muttered never mind and was about to walk outside the classroom again before he was stopped.
Ran pushed him back into the classroom. "I'm not doing a fucking project Ran." Rindou stated with venom in his voice.
"I don't care," he leaned down to speak into Rindou's ear, "You can't be out in the streets like you used to after what happened yesterday. Its dangerous for you. Focus and stay in school while me and the others get shit together ok?"
Rindou groaned loudly before nodding. Ran pat his head before waving a goodbye to the teacher. He graduated last year, meaning he was done with school, but everyone still knew of him.
Bunch of girls were fangirling as they thought they would never see him again.
Rindou pushed his brother out the door before the girls started screaming and giving him an ear ache before trekking across the classroom, taking his seat next to you.
You were staring at him the entire time, not on purpose, just pure shock that he managed to ruin your entire year.
"Fuck are you looking at?" He looked at you rudely and you turned to face the teacher, moving your chair away from his own to keep a distance. He rolled his eyes before leaning back into his chair, eyes on the board as the teacher explained what the project would be about.
"As you guys know, a term is around 13 weeks. So you have around 3 months to finish this project, so I expect the best. Don't show up 3 months later with garbage ok?" Everyone nodded and he dismissed the class.
Aya had motioned you from across the classroom but you held your hand out for her, telling her to wait a second. "Rindou?" You called out his name before he stood up, "We need to get started on this project ASAP, so do you have any contact details or-,"
"We can just do it next week, I'm busy." As soon as you were about to protest he walked off.
"So fucking rude," you muttered, making your way to Aya. "He's so fucking annoying."
She just laughed, "Yeah I can imagine. Good luck though, dont let him get into your head."
"Aya?" Itō called out from next to her, "Want to go to the library and get started? Only if you want to. I don't mind actually but whenever you're ready just tell me."
Aya found his nervousness cute, "Of course, we can get started now."
"Guess I'll walk home by myself then..." you said and Aya muttered and apology hugging you before making her way outside with Itō.
Must be nice to have a cooperative partner ey? You thought as you made your way outside school. Ran seemed to have been waiting for Rindou the entire time.
Swarms of girls bombarding him trying to get his attention, until Rindou shoved them all past, grabbing his brother's hand and walking off.
"Doesn't it ever get annoying? Having a bunch of useless women fighting over you?" Rindou thought as he got on his bike. Ran simply shrugged, "Get's a bit annoying yeah, but it fills my ego so not complaining." He smirked causing Rindou to face palm.
"Thought that couldn't get any bigger. You and your stupid poses and now your inflated ego." Rindou huffed out.
"Don't hate me cause you aint me Rin." Ran scoffed, "You hungry?"
"Sorta." Rindou started his bike, "Are you meeting with Mikey later?"
"Hm, yeah actually. So you're going to have to be home alone again. Sorry bro."
"Why me?!" Rindou huffed.
"Cause you're the idiot that got us into this mess in the first place." Ran smacked the top of his head, "Just focus on school right now. Mikey promised he would get this fixed ASAP."
"Yeah yeah I get it." Rindou clearly didn't, starting his bike and making his way home whilst Ran went the other direction.
+
You sat down on your bed, legs crossed as you brainstormed ideas for your project. This is so unfair, it's been two days since you had last spoken to Rindou and he hasn't contributed anything, and he hasn't shown up to class since then so you couldn't ask for his number.
Aya had suggested you try and find if he has any social medias, and knowing the type of person Rindou was, he probably didn't. But you decided to try anyways, searching his name and surpisingly finding an account.
Probably inactive but it was worth a shot.
And nowww we wait.
SORRRYYY this chapter was so long LMAO i got too into writing. anyways this will be a series so i really hope you guys enjoy it. I'll also be making a tag list, so just comment if you want to be added. Updates will be regular depending on my schedule with college and stuff !

BRUTAL
pairings: female reader x best friend!jungwon
summary: they told you that these were the golden years, but to you "golden" was a rusting metal spray painted yellow. the story of a seventeen year old trying to survive high school when all you do is try your best. but your best friend jungwon makes it worth the while.
genre: high school au, friends to lovers, fluff, tiny bits of angst if you squint, attempt at humour
featuring: jang wonyoung, kim sunoo & nishimura riki
word count: 4.5k
warnings: reader having a existential crisis most of the time, strong language, mentions of insecurity
the sour series masterlist
You slumped forward the moment the bell rang, letting your head hit the table. You could care less if a bruise would form on your forehead, you had much bigger things to worry about. Your teacher left the class wordlessly as the class was busy doing their own thing. And by that, everyone was buried nose deep in studying. You lifted your head to see the different books of the same topic scattered on your desk, a yellow highlighter balancing on the edge of your table.
Reaching over to grab the highlighter, you turned your head over to the side to look at your desk mate. Wonyoung sat there looking straight out from a k-drama, with her hair flowing down her back perfectly and her slender nimble fingers moving as she continuously wrote in her notebook. She was smart too, fluent in English and Korean, great at maths and science. And on top of that she was kind and friendly, everyone loved her. You did too, you had the honour of calling her your best friend. But sometimes you felt insecure around her, everything she did looked flawless and there you were just trying your best.
"Ack!" You yelped as you sat up straight, holding your forehead. Wonyoung rolled her eyes at you with a small smile on her lips, she had flicked your forehead to get you out of your thoughts.
Without taking her eyes off the textbook, she tapped your own workbook with her pen. Silently telling you to stop procrastinating. You pouted at her and looked at the clock, 10 minutes before lunch. Maybe a walk to the girl's bathroom would do you some good.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom," you whispered to Wonyoung. She nodded and smiled at you before you walked out.
As you strolled towards the girl's bathroom, you passed by the bulletin board outside your class. A bright blue poster stood out with the words "ENJOY YOUR YOUTH" in white. Scoffing at the message, you continued on your way.
"I'm seventeen now, where's my fucking teenage dream?" You muttered to yourself. You were tired of waiting for your life to end up like a coming of age movie. Everyone told you that these were the golden years and you should enjoy your youth, but you swear to god if you hear another one of those cheesy sayings, you might just cry on the spot.
Reaching over to open the stall door, you halt in your actions when you heard familiar voices talking.
"I'm so worried for finals, my parents are gonna kill me if I fail English again," a girl complained. You hear the sound of tap water running. "How are you so calm during this time, Mirae?'
"What's the use of studying hard anyways," the second girl, Mirae, said. "We all know the top spots are gonna be taken by Jang Wonyoung and Yang Jungwon, I just study enough to pass."
The other girl snorted at her reply. "Imagine if those two got together, the power couple of the year," she suddenly said.
"Poor Y/N then, she's gonna be over shadowed by them."
"As if she already isn't. I almost forgot they were a trio until you mentioned Y/N," the girl laughed.
"What can I say? They're out of her league," Mirae joined in with her laughter.
The two voices faded away as you heard the door closed. Finally pushing the door open, you looked at your reflection. Your eyebrows knitted in annoyance and your face was morphed in a scowl. You washed your hands aggressively and poked the inside of your cheek. What bugged you was that they were right. You were the black sheep between Wonyoung and Jungwon. Both of them were smart and amazing, and you're just…you.
You love your best friends, you truly do. But you were constantly compared to them and you hated it. Everyone wanted them, you watched as guys tripped over to confess to Wonyoung and girls squealing when Jungwon smiled at them. The two of them always reassured you that you weren't beneath them but you were sick of their sympathy. You're so caught up in the news of who likes you and who hates them. You just wished people liked you more.
Storming out of the bathroom, someone accidentally ran into you and caused you to fell onto your butt. The student immediately stood up and scurried off, not bothering to even a mutter an apology. All I did was try my best and this is the thanks I get, you thought bitterly.
They said that these were the golden years, but you wished you could just disappear. God, it's brutal out here.
"Y/N, wait up!" Jungwon called after you.
You stopped in your tracks as you watched Jungwon waved goodbye to some students before jogging towards you.
"You heading to cram school today?" He asked you as the both of you fell into the same walking rhythm.
You shook your head, clasping your hands behind. "I moved it to Thursday instead, Wonyoung said I had to many things on Tuesday," you told him. Originally, you would be heading to the library to study before heading over to the cram school. But Wonyoung took one look at your schedule and decided that you did not had enough breaks, so she managed to convince you to take the Thursday slot instead. Thursdays are one of the days where you would not go to the library.
Jungwon seemed to be disappointed to find out that you had switched slots. Maybe he should changed slots too, but does he have any empty spots open for Thursday though? He'd have to check later. Instead, he coughed and stuffed his hands into his pockets.
"Do you wanna come over later? The new Demon Slayer movie is out," he offered, hoping that you'd accept.
Unfortunately, you once again shook your head. "Sorry Jungwon, I'd want to cram even more later. Finals are really creeping in and I can't afford to waste any time," you told him with a sad smile. As much as you would like to ditch the books and watch Demon Slayer, the glaring C on your last history paper was telling you otherwise.
You stopped walking when you had reached your doorstep. "Thanks for walking me home, Jungwon. See you tomorrow!" and with that you disappeared behind the door.
Jungwon waved goodbye as he watched the door closed. The smile on his face dropped and his shoulder sagged. Jungwon you idiot, of course she would want to study, he scolded himself. With disappointment on his face, he trudged home with a heavy heart.
"Change of plans, guys," he announced as he swung the front door open, unfazed by the fact that Riki and Sunoo were lounging on his coach. He accepted the fact that Sunoo had somehow gotten the keys to his house (suspecting that his mother probably gave it to him due to favouritism or maybe Riki had sneakily made a copy).
Riki's head poked out from the couch. "She rejected you, didn't she," the younger boy said with a smirk.
Jungwon's face ears turned red as he glared at the boy. "No she did not!" He immediately told him. "She rejected the offer to watch the movie, that's different!"
"That's basically rejection, hyung," Riki laughed.
The other boy just glared at him. "Shut up!" he sputtered out before hiking up the stairs.
Sunoo gave Riki a look, to which the Japanese boy just shrugged his shoulders innocently.
Jungwon walked out from the shower, a towel around his neck with one hand running through his damp hair. Sunoo and Riki had left earlier, finally giving him some peace and quiet. His phone screen was flashing from his study table, initiating that someone was spamming him (quite aggressively) with text message. With a raised eyebrow, he picked up his phone

[7:41 pm] wonyoung: np i expect y'all to be a couple by next monday <3
[7:41 pm] jungwon: i-
Sighing for the nth time of the night, Jungwon sat on his bed. He allowed the towel to slipped off his shoulders as his thumb hovered over your chat icon. Truth be told, he always thought his crush on you was unrequited love. You never showed any signs of returning of feelings so he thought he would just ignore the feeling until it was gone.
But oh boy was he wrong, because he didn't knew that he would be spending his high school years by your side. And now you occupy his mind 24/7. Wonyoung could literally tell that he was in love with you, but somehow you never caught on. He allowed Sunoo and Riki to convince him to do the whole "movie date idea", but that failed. So Wonyoung's suggestion was his only option left.
He typed out the message, ready to send it out. If only he could just press the button. Come on Yang Jungwon, you can do this. Just press the damn button Jungwon. Suddenly his phone pinged loudly, scaring the lights out of the poor boy as he yelped and his phone landed with a thud on the ground. He peered over his bed, as if his phone was a ticking bomb.
Oh, it was a message from you.
[8:01 pm] y/n: hey do u know where wonyoung is
[8:01 pm] y/n: she isn't answering my texts
Oh no. He realised that your chat was open, the two ticks indicated that he had (unintentionally) read the message. He couldn't just leave you on read. That's just evil. Scrambling to get his phone, he immediately typed a reply to cover for the other girl.
[8:02 pm] jungwon: sorry i don't :/
[8:02 pm] jungwon: what do u need her for
[8:03 pm] y/n: mf was supposed to teach me a maths question but she left me on rEAD
This was his chance! It was the perfect opportunity for him to score a date with you. Okay, breathe in breath out Jungwon. Don't mess it up and just ask her, he mentally prepared himself.
[8:04 pm] jungwon: oh i could help you if you want
[8:04 pm] jungwon: yk with finals coming up and everything, i can help you study
[8:05 pm] jungwon: if you want of course
[8:05 pm] y/n: omg srsly??
[8:06 pm] jungwon: pls help me study my braincells are literally dying
[8:07 pm] jungwon: jdsjkda okay how about this saturday at your place?
[8:08 pm] y/n: yeah sure
[8:08 pm] jungwon: cool its a date then!
You blinked at Jungwon's message. A date? Wait, did Yang Jungwon just indirectly asked you out? Nah, nah. You were overthinking it. Yes, definitely overthinking. Don't kid yourself, why would Jungwon ask you out on a date? Jungwon is just a friend, you tried to convince yourself.
Keyword: tried.
If he really was just a friend, then why did it felt like butterflies were in your stomach when he said "it was a date"? Then why did you frowned when those girls said that Wonyoung and Jungwon would make a good couple?
Oh god, do you have feelings for your best friend?
Saturday came faster than you would have liked it to. Ever since that last chat with Jungwon, it gave you the sudden realisation that you did in fact had feelings for your best friend. You tried so hard to avoid him in school because you don't want the butterflies back in your stomach. It was basically confirming the fact that you like him. Well, avoiding him also confirmed the fact but you choose to be in denial about it.
You didn't tell Wonyoung about your study date but lately she's been sending you outfit ideas on Pinterest. Specifically, date outftis. And whenever you tried to ask her a question about school, she brushed you off with a random excuse. So it left you no choice but to save those questions for Jungwon.
Speaking of Jungwon, he had texted you 10 minutes ago that he was on the way. You were standing in the middle of your room with your hands on your hips. Both of your parents were out for the day, which left you alone at home. You had taken out the low table to be used later and it was currently in front of you. Colourful workbooks were neatly stacked on top of it.
You did a 360 turn around your room. Was it messy? You cleaned it this morning when you woke up. Did you had any clothes out? No, doesn't look like it. For some reason, you were a nervous wreck. You blamed Jungwon. He just had to call this a date, didn't he.
Should you change? Maybe you should finally look through all those pins Wonyoung sent. Wait, no, why would you have to change into something nice. Jungwon was here to help you study, just that.
Yeah, a study date, your mind emphasised on the word.
The sound of the doorbell pulled you out from your thoughts. You immediately went to open the door. Yang Jungwon stood there on the other side, with his signature smile. Had he always resembled a sheep? He just looked so fluffy.
"Hey!" You greeted him with a smile, internally wincing at your way-too-enthusiastic voice.
But Jungwon didn't seem to mind it. "Hey!" he greeted back.
You moved to the side to let him in. "Thank you for having me," he said as he bowed then proceeded to remove his shoes.
"Uh, do you want anything? Water?" You asked him.
He shook his head.
"Ah, cool. Let's head to my room," you started to walk back to your room.
"Where are your parents?" He asked.
"Out," you simply replied.
That was when it dawned upon you, that your parents were not home. Leaving you and Jungwon, alone. Together. In your room. Alone. With the boy you potentially have a crush on.
"Y/N?" Jungwon tapped on your shoulder. You had stopped walking when you were suddenly washed over by your thoughts. Snapping out of it, you sent him a small smile before opening the room to your door.
The both of you shuffled into your bedroom, you sat down in front of the low table while Jungwon settled down next to you. He moved to take out his books then turned to you. "How about we do some studying and if you have any questions, you can ask me okay?" He said.
You nodded and flipped your own workbook open, immediately starting to work on the first question. Jungwon copied your action and a comfortable silence engulfed the both of you. As the time passed, you found yourself stuck on a certain maths question.
You slightly turned your head to the side to look at Jungwon. He was concentrated at doing his work, you felt a sense of deja vu while looking at him. He resembled Wonyoung when she was studying. At the thought of Wonyoung, you suddenly thought of what those girls said at the bathroom.
They would make a good couple, wouldn't they, you thought. The power couple of the year.
The butterflies in your stomach faded away into an uncomfortable feeling. Just the idea of them getting together already made you sick. You bit the inside of your cheek, you really did had feelings for him. And now it scared you because what if he doesn't feel the same. You made a mental note to consult with Wonyoung later, at least you hope that you'll allow yourself to tell her.
Jungwon must've noticed you staring and gently tapped your head with his pencil. A contrast to when Wonyoung painfully flicked your forehead.
"What's wrong? Are you stuck on a question?" He asked.
You leaned back a bit at the sudden action. You were so deep in your insecurities that you had totally forgotten about the literal problem sitting in front of you. Yet you couldn't even bother to ask him so you just shook your head. "I'm gonna get something to drink," you said instead.
Jungwon watched as you stood up, then decided to follow you as well. "I'll come along."
The boy joined you in the kitchen, perched on one of the island stools as you grabbed a can of soda from the fridge. He studied your movement as you worked around the kitchen. Your features were neutral, you weren't smiling nor frowning. But he could tell that your shoulders were tensed. Wonyoung was right, you did seem down. And he cursed himself for not noticing earlier.
"You okay?" His question made you stopped in a mid-pour stance, the can of soda was tilted but not enough for the contents to be poured out.
You brushed his question off and poured the drink into the cup. "Yeah," you hummed.
Unconvinced by your answer, he pried more. "You know you shouldn't care about what they say, right?"
You furrowed your eyebrows at him, pretending like you didn't understand where he was coming from.
"You're not below us, you know that right?"
You couldn't help but scoffed at his words. Jungwon's lips tugged downwards "I'm being serious here, Y/N," his tone was stern. "You shouldn't listen to what they say. You're more than just-"
The sound of the can being slammed down shuts him up. Your fingers tightened around the can as you looked at him. You didn't had the energy to hear him preach the same old "Don't Listen To Them" speech. You don't need his pity.
"I don't want to hear it, Yang Jungwon," you said through gritted teeth. Not sparing him another glance, you threw the empty can into the trash as you grabbed your glass.
As you walked past Jungwon, he suddenly reached out and held onto your forearm. "Y/N," he said softly. "Please tell me what's wrong."
You sighed and slowly turn around to face him, placing the glass back on the counter. You took in a deep breath before you opened your mouth. "I feel like I'm not enough," you finally said. "Everything I do just doesn't seem enough. All I'm doing is my best but it's just crushing my ego because everyone is telling me that you're better than me."
"I feel like no one wants me and I hate the way I'm perceived. It's always poor Y/N this and poor Y/N that's because everyone just sees me as your shadow and I fucking hate it. I only have two real friends," you gestured wildly. "And lately I'm a nervous wreck cause I keep comparing myself to the two of you. I'm not cool and I'm not smart, and I can't even parallel park!" You threw your hands up in frustration, the feelings you kept inside were pouring out like a waterfall.
Jungwon just stood there as he listened tentatively to every word. He didn't knew that you felt this way, bottling up all your emotions like that.
"And I'm so tired of people telling me to enjoy my youth and that these are the golden years. I might just fucking cry if I hear those words again," you finished ranting. It felt good, it felt like a weight on your heart has been lifted. Then you remembered that you just dumped all of it on Jungwon.
You opened your mouth to apologise to him but he surprised you by pulling him into his arms. At first you were standing stiffly at the sudden contact, but it took a millisecond for you to melt in his embrace. His arms were gently around your back and you returned the hug by wrapping your arms around his torso. The two of you stay in that position for awhile, relishing in each other's embrace. You definitely needed this hug.
Tightening your hold on Jungwon, you realised how important he was to you. He was your best friend and he was always there for you. It was stupid of you to compare yourself to him, when all he did was tried his best for you. The taller boy chuckled when he felt you rubbed your face into his shoulder, he involuntarily released a contented sigh. You felt one of his hands stroked your hair, it felt comforting. That action itself was enough for the butterflies to slowly settled back in you.
After a while, both of you finally (unwillingly) released each other. He pushed a strand of hair behind your ears and said, "You're wrong by the way." Which made you tilt your head in genuine confusion.
"You are cool and you are smart. You're like the coolest person I know. And no one thinks of you as our shadow, you don't hear it but I've always hear the juniors praising you for helping them and how enthusiastic you are," the way he delivered his words was filled with pure awe for you.
"And who cares if you can't parallel park. You didn't hear it from but Jay hyung failed his drivers test three times just because he couldn't parallel park," and that got a laugh out from you. Jungwon smiled proudly that he managed to make you laugh. "And you're wrong when you said no one wants you. I want you."
You blinked once, twice and thrice. He wanted you? "You're just saying that cause you're my best friend," you replied.
"No," he firmly said. "I like you, Y/N."
(Jungwon doesn't know where he got this sudden surge of confidence, but the mood was the perfect time for him to confess. It was a one time chance and he had to take it.)
You chuckled. "I like you too, Jungwon. We are friends aren't we?"
"No, Y/N. I like you. More than friends."
"Oh." Oh.
"Yeah," he scratched the back of neck awkwardly. Oh no, did you not feel the same way?
While you on the other hand, were malfunctioning on the inside. Your best friend just confessed to you and you were frozen on the spot. Why couldn't he had done it over text instead. If he had done it over text, then you could've left the message unread and you could've spammed Wonyoung for help. But the thing is that it wasn't over text and you couldn't just tell him to wait here while you panicked to Wonyoung in your bathroom.
Yang Jungwon likes you. And you like him too, right? Because if you didn't, your cheeks won't be heating up right now and your heart would have not be beating rapidly like it was going to break your rib cage any second. If you didn't like him, there would have never been butterflies in your stomach. Yeah. You like Yang Jungwon, you like him a lot.
"Me too," you whispered, it was soft but it was enough for him to pick it up. Jungwon eyes snapped to you, doe eyed filled with hope. "I like you, too," you said, this time louder. And you made sure you looked him in the eye when you confessed.
You watched as Jungwon's mouth morphed into a big grin. He let out a sigh of relief and dropped to his knees, surprising you. "Jungwon!" you squeaked, bending down to help him.
"I'm fine! I'm fine," he assured you as he stood up with your help. The grin on his face was still there. "It's just that … you like me," he breathed out. "You like me back, wow. I-I can't believe it."
Your face was definitely burning with embarrassment. You punched him lightly on the shoulder, turning away to hide your face. "Believe it, you dork. I like you, okay!" Somehow his grin was able to grew wider at your words, Gently, he took your hand in his.
"How about we stop this study date, and I'll take you out on real date?"

╰☆☆☆☆╮
You had waited for this time since the beginning of your academic journey there. Graduating from high school was two months away, and it felt just as exciting as weird.
It felt like you had started your first year last week, but the amount of work and time spent in those dull buildings makes you feel like you’ve been there for at least five years.
It was exhausting to attend classes and see the same people every single day of the year, with repetitive subjects, annoying or cool teachers depending on your luck and everything that followed. The homework, the assignments, the small -or not so small- fights between classes or groups of people, you were praying that university wouldn’t sound like that.
However, at the same time, you were almost starting to feel nostalgic for this time. The last years where you could remain a bit silly before entering the adult world, being in your last teen years with people that you appreciated and met there. You chose to do this before letting them go and live your own lives, memories that will disappear if you don’t cherish them enough.
So, with Soyeon, your best friend, you decided to enjoy the time that you had left to do things together while still studying and revising for the exams, which was sometimes not easy to do. Yes, you shared classes, but personal and private activities sometimes came in the way and prevented you from hanging out.
“It’s life after all,” she said one night over the phone as you shared your opinion on this topic, “it’s good that we can be together almost 24/7, but sometimes, things don’t allow us to be together. It might be for the best, we never know,” she said, trying to be positive no matter the situation she was in, but you knew her well. As much as she wants to appear strong, you had found her many times crying on her own. But it was her personality, and no matter how hard you tried to change her, what's bred in the bone comes out in the flesh.
Soyeon wasn’t your only friend, you were getting along well with most of your girl classmates, as well as the boys that weren’t suffocating under the number of pick-me-girls that were populating your school and your class.
Sadly for you, you’ve been eyeing the most popular (and prettiest) boy in your whole school since you crossed gaze with him at the very beginning of your first year there. Jacob, your crush, was also the star basketball player of your school, and constantly surrounded and attracting cheerleaders or rich, random, good-looking girls, which had a knack for getting on your nerves. He was always spending time together with his pals and teammates, but other people as well. Everyone wanted to be his friend because you know, he had a promising career ahead of him, so it was always nice to be friends with a potential future celebrity.
As defeated as you were, there was still a small voice in your head telling you to do something before he left to go back to his home country, South Korea, where he had a career already planned and traced out.
You were confused as it was almost impossible for you to get a chance with him since you were not one of those girls and you simply couldn’t compete against them, but Soyeon and her boyfriend Sunwoo were always there to praise you and reassure you about your potential chances of dating him. Never convinced by your friends’ words, you had tried many times to get him out of your head and focus on someone else, but it never worked. Everything came back to him. He was unique and oh so nice, everything reminded you of him, and it was sickening at this point.
“He won't get out of my head, it’s getting on my nerves,” you shared your thoughts to your best friend as you braced your head in your hands, slapping your cheeks as if it were going to change anything and help you throw Jacob out of your brain.
“Why do I keep this stupid boy in my head when I know I don’t stand a single chance against those girls,” you slapped your cheeks harder and whined as Soyeon’s hand landed on your wrist.
“Y/N, stop your nonsense. You are perfect, you don’t need to change anything for him!”
“It’s easier said than done, you pulled the football star player!” you exclaimed, and she rolled her eyes, shifting closer to whisper.
“He pulled me because he knew that I am pretty, and that wouldn’t change a single thing for him. If he’s not happy with who I am, he can leave,” she shrugs, signalling you to do the same if you dated Jacob.
Sunwoo was also among the popular boys, but your friend remained the same, not even trying to fit in with the popular girls. She claimed that Sunwoo fell in love with her for her true self, so she didn’t see the point of changing to please other people. And you wished you had her confidence and her strength, admiring her for not changing anything about herself to please others.
Back to the present.
You felt stuck, desperately in love with an unapproachable boy who was too popular and way out of your league to be lucky to have his eyes sparing you any sort of attention. Even if he was a sweet young man, he was always surrounded by popular people, who were trying to hook up or use him for his school fame and sharp features.
One day, while studying with your best friend at the library, Sunwoo and one of his friends, Hyunjae, the football captain, burst into the library and come not so quietly to your table.
“For the love of God, can you both be quiet for once?” Soyeon whispered-yelled but her voice got toned down by Sunwoo vividly pressing his lips on hers, an arm wrapping around her shoulders. Hyunjae laughed but quickly gagged as they didn’t stop the kiss as quickly as the captain wished.
“Gosh, please, get a room,” he mumbled before hugging you, your knee resting against his as his arms pressed you against his chest.
Your friendship with Hyunjae felt more like siblings, he was genuinely nice and caring with you, making sure that you were okay and that you had enough of everything before allowing you to go home. Despite all the teasing and a few rumours going around school, you were not dating and didn’t have any romantic feelings for each other. He simply checked that you had an older brother figure since you were the first-born child, and it felt relieving.
The thing you did not know was that Jacob and a few of his basketball teammates, Juyeon, Eric and Younghoon, were a few tables away from yours, your back facing them, the future star looking at you and Hyunjae from the corner of his eyes. He nodded at his friend at your table, who gave him a wink as an answer, Jacob’s eyes burning holes into your back as Hyunjae was close to you. Too close to you for the basketball player not to feel something churn in his stomach.
Two long, manicured fingers snapped in front of his eyes to get him out of his reverie, lazily looking at the girl that sat across from him, who he was supposed to get help from.
“Jacob please, pay attention to meeeeee,” she whined and pouted, giving him puppy eyes that he couldn’t give a single fuck about, too busy in his mind to hear what she had to say.
She had volunteered to help him study History, but she wasn’t any better, probably worse than he was. It was already the third time Juyeon corrected her basic knowledge without being an expert himself, not even caring about the death glares she kept sending him. It only made him smirk as he knew it irked her dearly yet amused the rest of the table a lot.
They all sighed as she finally took the hint and left their table, Jacob bitterly chuckling as Hyunjae rolled his eyes when she walked past your table, his demeanour making you laugh.
╰☆╮
“Bro, do you think I should ask Y/N for help? Isn’t that a bit… lame?” Jacob sat on one of the soccer balls, hands joined and panting as Sunwoo practised his dribbling skills before shooting the ball in the cages, aiming for the up-right corner. He trotted to his friend and collapsed on the grass next to him, the last rays of sunshine offering his skin a wonderful, honey glow. He ruffled his hair after plopping down, checking his phone for any message before answering.
“If you need help, you shouldn’t be afraid to ask her. I mean, she’s super smart in every subject, but she’s just the boss in History. Her presentations are always golden, and she explains things a lot better than some of the teachers.”
“I got Smith as a teacher,” the basketball player grimaced, his left hand holding his right wrist as his gaze wandered in the grass.
“We’ve got Antal, and I can tell you that she’s always mad when Y/N does a presentation because they honestly just sound better than her lessons,” Sunwoo chuckled as Jacob pondered his friend’s words, the gears of his mind working at full speed.
How is he going to be able to approach you and get to talk to you?
╰☆╮
“Bestie, no. I swear I saw that in the other book,” you said as you found yourself back in the library the following week, bending over the table to grab the book your best friend was resting hers on. You started flipping some pages when a loud, masculine chortle followed by some whispers of annoyance drawing your attention.
“Hi, babe! Hi Hyunj- Oh hi Jacob!” your neck almost snapped as you abruptly lifted your head up at the mention of your crush’s name, a small, embarrassed smile making its way on your mouth. You were a bit sad that your brother best friend was not here with Sunwoo, but you weren’t going to complain to have your crush instead.
“Can I sit here?” the basketball player asked in a soft voice while pointing at the empty spot next to you, making you quickly nod and gather your stuff to make him some space.
You resumed searching for the precious paragraph you were searching for your project as if it were nothing, trying to ignore your stammering heart in your chest and the couple eating each other's mouths. The only thing you hoped was that Jacob couldn’t hear the loud, irregular beats in your ribcage because it would give in your attraction to him.
“Hum, Y/N?” the voice next to you made you flinch, surprised that he knew your name and that he said it aloud.
“Y-Yes?” you said, cursing in your head as you stuttered.
“I heard that you were the Ace when it came to History,” Jacob started, and you couldn’t look at him in the eyes, fire spreading in your chest up to your face.
“I can’t really say that I’m the Ace, but I really love that subject, so yeah I have some… knowledge,” words tripped over your tongue, and your best friend pulled away from Sunwoo and scoffed.
“Some knowledge? Are you kidding?” she said, Sunwoo placing a hand on her mouth as she was louder than intended. She removed his palm and furrowed her brows at him, before turning her head back at you with the same angry expression.
“She knows so fucking much that Antal hates her because she feels humiliated compared to Y/N. So let me tell you one thing, Cobbie, if you need help, you’ve come to the right person. Y/N is just a living encyclopaedia,” your best friend proudly smirked as you glowered at her, Sunwoo chuckling at his girlfriend’s behaviour before immediately stopping.
“Wait, did you call him Cobbie? How come you call him like that when I get nothing other than babe or baby?” Sunwoo argued while pouting, and your best friend sighed, ruffling his hair before pressing her lips against his one more time, making you slightly grimace as envy flooded your veins.
You sighed and dared to look at Jacob, who was reading the beginning of your essay written on your computer, leaving Sunwoo and your best friend bicker like the cute couple they were.
“Do you have this project too?” you asked, and he shook his head, eyes remaining glued on the computer screen.
“It’s so interesting what you wrote, I like your way of writing and explaining stuff,” he offered a small smile as he looked at you, clearing his throat. For someone that was super popular and constantly surrounded by friends or people at parties, he behaved and sounded quite like an introvert.
“W-Well, thank you,” you said with a smile and turned your head to the side for a second, taking a deep breath before looking back at him, opening a new tab on your computer after he gestured to you that he was done reading.
“What do you need help with?”
╰☆╮
You were astonished at how quick-minded Jacob was. Behind his fit, muscular appearance and obsession with basketball, he had the soul of a thinker and grasped the knowledge of historical concepts quite easily and rapidly. He just wasn’t good with the way Smith was teaching, the method not suiting him.
“You retain things well for someone who hates History,” you joked, and he shyly smiled, scratching his neck. His smile looked gorgeous, and you were pleasantly surprised at how much of a genuine person he was.
“Well, History is not my cup of tea, but it might be a bit more thanks to you,” he said, and you tried to stifle a smile, thankful that your best friend was no longer sitting across from you because she wouldn’t have let you two live.
“It’s nothing. You can come back to me if you need help, I really don’t mind. I actually like explaining things,” you said, and he nodded, clicking your pen close before placing it in your pouch.
“Thank you, really. Sunwoo was actually the one that told me about you, so I have to thank him as well,” you stood up and slowly started to pack your stuff, shutting down your computer with a smile.
“I’m glad he did so, I just hope it was positive,” you giggled, and he quickly joined you, twirling his pen in between his fingers as he cleared his throat.
“You know, it’s Sunwoo. It can only be nice and positive,” you genuinely smiled at him and fall in silence, throwing glances at each other from time to time as the conversation was slowly starting to die down.
“And... How’s basketball going by the way? Is everything going well?” you asked, and his heart skipped a beat at your question as it took him off guard.
“I-It’s going pretty well, I’m excited to finish high school to be able to focus on basketball. I’m gonna have to take some of my last finals in South Korea because the season and the training start pretty early in Summer so…” his voice trailed as his eyes widened, a hand slapping his mouth as you both stood up.
“What?” you quizzed, confused by his sudden change of behaviour.
“I… was meant to keep this a secret,” his voice trailed, the end of his sentence falling in a whisper as he started panicking. “Can we pretend you didn’t hear what I said?” he asked as you placed your bag strap on your shoulder, taking your sweater before pushing the chair against the table.
“Said what?” you replied with a smile, and Jacob sighed in relief, somehow feeling like his secret was safe with you, even if you’ve talked to him for the first time at the beginning of the afternoon.
╰☆╮
The rest of the month rolled off smoothly, yet the stress and the revisions became more intense as the days went by. You didn’t hear anything back from Jacob, but you’ve caught him staring at you a few times, offering him an awkward wave and a smile as not to get noticed by some of his “fan girls”, as they called themselves.
You still had a whole month left before finals, and you felt blessed as summer decided to start a bit earlier this year. It was only the beginning of May, but you were already able to wear shorts and dresses. It felt good to see the blue sky and being surrounded by the warmth of the sun hitting your exposed skin after the cold, lonely winter and spring you’ve just got out of. Everything looked prettier and warmer, and it did nothing but make you happier and brighter, despite the stress of the finals piling up on your shoulders.
So, to get rid of this pressure, you decided to leave town with Hyunjae and let him drive to one of the lakes that surrounded your town, knowing that the beach and parks would get crowded in no time. It was a place that you used to go to with your parents when you were still a child, memories that you shared with your friend coming back flooding in your mind.
Hyunjae and his family tagged along to give you some company and take care of you as your parents were busy looking after your newborn twin sisters, Hyunjae and his younger brother acting like elder siblings to you.
After driving for a few dozens of minutes, you settled your stuff in the shade, right under a weeping willow that offered you freshness throughout the entire day. Your best friend napped almost the entire time you were there, hand lingering on his abs while the other plucked out some grass until he dozed off, trying to store as many hours of rest as possible before finals. By his side was you, reading a book and enjoying the chilly water to cool down from the hot temperatures of early Summer, playfully nudging the young man next to you each time he was starting to snore.
It’s near the middle of the afternoon that you heard another car pulling up near the lake, a bunch of excited teenagers coming out of a van. You didn’t pay much attention to them, only sighing as your peace was about to get ruined, their screams when they jumped in the water woke your best friend up.
He abruptly sat up next to you and rubbed his eyes, some sleeping marks lingering on his face, making you giggle. Being the short-sighted idiot that he was, he squinted to try and recognise some people, but he didn’t have to.
A young woman screamed and started jumping up and down, waving her arms above her head in your direction, hearing her scream something towards you.
You looked at each other with Hyunjae, confusion painted on your faces, hearing your phone buzz in your small bag hidden by your folded clothes.
“Hello?” you said as Hyunjae’s phone started vibrating too, picking up the call as well.
“Y/N, it’s us! We’re on the opposite side of the lake! Come and join us!” you heard your best friend yell in your ear, hearing her as well through Hyunjae’s phone, who picked up a call from her boyfriend.
“Okay, we’re coming!” you excitingly said as you hung up, waving at your best friend from your spot as you started packing your stuff to get back in the car and meet up with your friends.
Your best friend excitingly jumped in your arms as soon as you got out of the car,
“Tt’s crazy how we’re so connected! Did you also think that the beach would be crowded?” she asked, and you nodded with a smile, happy to see her this joyful to see you.
The inseparable duo was here, as well as Younghoon, Jacob, Eric, Juyeon and Sangyeon, the striker of the football team. They all engulfed you in a tight hug, Jacob staying in the background the entire time.
“Hi Jacob!” you brightly said and wrapped your arms around his neck, hugging him close. “Hi Y/N,” his answer vibrated in his chest and had repercussions in yours, sending your heart flying in your ribcage.
You looked so good being this carefree, it was thankfully a sight that he managed to imprint in his mind despite the shortness of the moment. Being surrounded by all your friends felt so good that you forgot to be awkward and worry about the stupidest things, and Jacob adored seeing you this natural and smiling in the company of your friends. He was a bit sad that he wasn’t fully the reason for your smile though, but he still managed to enjoy the rest of the day with you and your mutual friends, whether you were on the ground or in the water.
Sangyeon, Younghoon and Juyeon copied Hyunjae and joined him in a restoring nap, while Eric, Sunwoo, Jacob, Soyeon and you played different games in the water, improvising a volleyball match with an imaginary net and the ball Sunwoo took with him as the volleyball, but it did the job. It was just a bit hurtful for the liberos since it wasn’t as soft and bouncy as a volleyball, but the joy of the moment allowed any type of pain to become bearable.
The evening eventually started to settle in, and you all got out of the water, drying yourselves before deciding to spend a part of the night here. You helped Sangyeon build a bonfire in the safe area by bringing some different branches, the eldest placing them correctly before lighting them with his pocket lighter.
“Hyung! I didn’t know you were a boy-scout,” Sunwoo exclaimed and made everyone laughed as you all were sliding some marshmallows on a stick, Sangyeon smiling with modesty at everyone.
“Ya, don’t say this,” Sangyeon mumbled, and you smile, rubbing his upper back as he sat down next to you, thanking him when you handed him over his marshmallow stick.
“Oh no! Mine burnt,” Soyeon pouted when she retrieved her snack from the flames, and her boyfriend was quick to give her his sweets, Eric cooing at the gesture of affection.
“Give it to me, I like them burnt,” he mumbled as he bit in the fluffy texture, immediately regretting it as it was boiling. His girlfriend handed him water as he stood up, bouncing up and down to try and reduce what felt like flames in his mouth.
“Oh my, thanks babe,” he muttered with his mouth stuffed when he gulped down everything with a pained expression on his face. Eric’s eyes filled with boredom locked into yours and you both chuckled, your friend shaking his head.
“When is it gonna be my turn,” he huffed and Sunwoo hit him playfully in the back as you all laughed around the bonfire, relating to your friend.
“When you’ll stop being obsessed with football and mango juice,” Eric grunted and folded his arms over his chest as Sangyeon called him out, making you coo and playfully run to him, holding him against you as he fake-cried on your chest while everyone was laughing at him.
Except for Jacob, who only offered a weak smile, but you didn’t catch it, too busy having fun and being light-hearted with your friends.
After your stomachs were filled with sweets and soda, Sunwoo pulled out his guitar and strummed a soft melody until some became heavy-eyed or fell asleep against the other, his girlfriend succumbing to his musical talents first. Jacob looked exhausted as well but forced his eyes open, finding him even hotter with hooded eyelids and his hair slightly curling with the humidity of the air and the lake water.
When it was time to go home, Hyunjae, as well as Younghoon, Sunwoo, Soyeon and Eric decided to jump into Hyunjae’s car to go to the beach, feeling the urge and the thrill of going skinny-dipping. On the other hand, you and the rest of the boys were too exhausted and modest to do this, only wanting to go home and get some good rest.
Just like they had arrived, Sangyeon was behind the wheel while the rest was either next to him or in the back seat. And you didn’t know how it happened, but you got stuck between the window and Jacob, who was struggling to keep his eyes open.
“You good?” you asked, and he turned his head towards you before offering you a tired yet sweet smile, moving his head up and down.
“I'm just exhausted, tonight was simply amazing,” he mumbled, and you expressed your agreement by a happy hum and a nod, bringing your attention to your eldest friend.
“Are you sure you’re awake enough to drive?” you enquired on the current situation and Sangyeon looks at you through the inner rear-view mirror, eyes forming two crescent moons as he smiled.
“I just jumped in the water, I’m nothing but awake,” he clapped in his hands to motivate himself and started the engine, your best friend’s car already gone.
Jacob rested his head against the headrest and closed his eyes, his head rolling to the side each time Sangyeon took a turn. You settled yourself on the window and let the vibrations of the car lull you to sleep, the small talk that Sangyeon and Juyeon were having in the front seats acted like a background noise, which helped you dozing off.
However, when the car pulled up in front of your house, they didn’t expect you to have your head resting against Jacob’s shoulder, his hand on your knee. The two men smiled at each other before Sangyeon got out of the vehicle, drawing the door open. As he was about to carry you to your doorstep, Jacob’s arm was quick to wrap itself around your waist, keeping you close to him.
You woke up confused, blinking a few times as you saw the striker standing next to you with a wide smile on his face. He removed a limb around your body, and you felt someone groan under your right shoulder, noticing in dread that you snuggled up to Jacob for some warmth in your sleep.
“You gotta go before the beast wakes up,” Sangyeon joked and winked as he helped you get out of the car, closing the door behind you. It opened again a few seconds later, Jacob looking just as confused as you were.
“Come on, lovebirds, we don’t have the night.”
“Lovebirds?” Jacob and you asked in unison, the basketball player rubbing his eye with the back of his hand. He jumped out of the van and gestured to Sangyeon to get back in.
“You can go, I live just around the corner,” he drowsily said as he vaguely gestured behind him.
“You sure? Your house is on my way back home, I can drop you off,” Sangyeon suggested but he refused, offering a handshake to the striker before letting him go.
Being more awake now, you waved at your friends driving away before turning to your crush, who looked even more adorable as he was super sleepy and just woke up.
“Are you sure you’re gonna be okay? You look really tired,” you asked, voice still laced with sleep yet sounding caring, which made Jacob’s heartbeat fasten. He nodded and weakly smiled, taking a step closer to you. His attitude was a bolt from the blue as he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you to him, nuzzling his face in your neck.
“You felt so warm during the ride, it’s almost like I could get used to this,” he tiredly said with a smile, gently pulling away to stare at you, his fingers leaving your back to come and slide a wild piece of hair behind your ear. Your whole body stiffened at his words as he stared at you in the eyes, noticing a small, washed-out smirk plastered on his face.
“Don’t you think it’s a bit... late to start something with someone? I mean, we have finals and then y-you’re le-leaving for South Korea and-” you started stammering as his thumb gently stroked your cheek, loving watching you lose your composure at his display of affection.
“It’s never too late when you love someone,” he whispered, feeling his warm breath tickling your lips in such a delicious manner that you have to resist the urge to move forward and press your lips against his.
His words punched the air out of your lungs, leaving you breathless as he kissed your cheek, mouth slowly moving to the side until it reached your lips. The kiss was soft yet a bit on the rougher side as if he wanted you to understand every feeling he had for you. Instinctively, your arms wrapped around his shoulders, and you kissed him harder, deeper, his hands on your lower back pulling you flush against him.
You had dreamt, wondered about what it was like kissing Jacob, but it never felt as good as you were experiencing it now. Fireworks and butterflies were erupting in your stomach, leaving you dizzy with love and passion as one of his hands came and cupped your cheek, the pad of his thumb gently caressing the skin.
Once you pulled away for oxygen, you held onto his shoulders for your dear life and he chuckled, his mouth slowly travelling down to your neck.
“I-I think my… my- oh my god, my parents will worry,” you gently pushed him away and he stared at you with a smile before diving in to capture your lips in another soft kiss.
“I'm only letting you go if you're free tomorrow. Let's put that off to tomorrow, shall we?” he asked, and your eyes widened at his suggestion.
“We can go back to the lake if you want, but only if we’re alone,” he said, his hand caressing your cheek while the other was busy stroking your upper back up and down.
“I want to enjoy this with you and you only,” he added, mumbling against your mouth and this time, you’re the one pulling him for a kiss.
“Come and pick me up at 10, then,” you said as you pulled away.
“I’ll be there, I promise,” he answered and started walking towards your house, closing the front gate behind you, waving at him with a smile.
He sent you a flying kiss with a smile and you waved at him one last time before closing the main door of your house behind you, both sighing with a huge smile and warmth painted on your faces.
You peeled the clothes off your skin and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower, shaking your head left to right while chuckling as you recalled what just happened in your last month of high school.
Nothing was making sense, you didn’t know how you got there, but you were happy.
And that’s what mattered the most.

i am looking directly at 3 & 11
eeeeeeek these are some of my faves, and ideas that have been festering in my brain for so so long 😁😁
3. barre buddies (ballet au)
this one is still very much in the planning phase but i have high hopes for it bc this is probably the biggest passion project i’ve ever undertaken. here’s just a bit of some kind of blurb i wrote to set the scene:
Pran had been in love with dance since he was a child. Something about being able to express without having to use words, it appealed to him. From before he could remember, he was spinning around in his living room, absorbing any bit of ballet content he could get his hands on, and begging his mom to find a class to take him to. She, course, disapproved initially. Naturally, she would’ve preferred if he concentrated on his studies so he could get a steady job and a secure future, but then when he was 6, she attended his first ballet recital, and the teacher took her to the side to go on about all the promise he had, how far he could go. Pran was never exactly sure why, but that seemed to change something in her, because from then on, she was so attentive and so encouraging about his dance, and before long it became a dream they shared, Pran becoming a star. He was in ballet lessons twice a week from the age of 7, and never even considered looking back, no matter the amount of snide sniggering from kids at his school about boys in tights and girly tutus. He was content with having no friends, coasting by. After all, one day he was going to be the principal dancer at one of the world’s most prestigious ballet companies, and no amount of shame or set-backs we’re going to stop him. At least, that’s what he thought when he was 7, but life didn’t always work out the way you dreamt it.
Pat hadn’t been born with a love of dance. Instead, he was born into a feud, into a competition he didn’t sign up for. Along with walking and talking, one of the first things he was taught was that that kid across the road, that was his enemy, his nemesis, someone he had to beat. So when his dad overheard prans mom chatting with friends about how their son was a dance prodigy, pat was in lessons the next day. The two boys glared at each other until pat was asked to pirouette and got his legs twisted, landing flat on his butt. Clearly, dance didn’t come easy to everyone. He had to push through recitals bounding across the stage like an elephant while pran got all these elegant solos, and he so wanted to resent him, to discount his talent like his father did, but when pat had to sit there on the sidelines watching pran perform, he couldn’t help it. He just thought he was amazing.
11. the very noble mission to see pran shirtless
this i started writing during ep 8 I think (yes it’s been that long, yes im that bad at getting fics done) so here’s a snippet:
Pat commenced phase one of his plan the day after he cemented his resolution. Look, he was an impatient guy; when he had something in his head, he just had to do it. So that evening, while Pran was busy preparing dinner, and by preparing he meant taking their take out out of the containers and putting them on plates, because ‘I might be lazy but I’m not a heathen’ Pran had said, Pat slipped into Pran’s room where the thermostat for the air conditioning was and set it to off. You see, Pran was very particular about the temperature of his room, he liked to be comfortable, especially during the sticky heat at the height of summer. So Pat figured, if the air conditioning was off, Pran might be a little uncomfortable in his usual layers, maybe even tempted to shed them.
He couldn’t hide his mischievous grin as he walked back out to the kitchen area, sliding into one of the seats at the island and picking at the food on Pran’s plate.
“What are you up to?” Pran asked, suspicion evident in the way he dragged out the sentence.
“Nothing. Why?” Pat asked back, looking up with his best puppy dog eyes as he munched on a bite of Pran’s dumplings.
“You’ve got that smile on. The one you do when you’re hiding something.”
“Why would I hide anything from my boyfriend?” Pat quipped back with an innocent grin.
“You know, you can’t just whip out that word to try and distract me. It doesn’t work like that.”
“Your face says otherwise, Mr. Dimples,” Pat crooned, poking a finger into where Pran’s face creased with his dimpled smile.
Pran swatted the hand away with an exasperated tsk but the dimples didn’t disappear, and Pat couldn’t help but grin, because the way he could fluster Pran so easily would never get old.
Pran swatted his hand again as Pat reached for another dumpling, pointing at him accusingly as Pat stroked at his hand, feigning injury.
“And don’t think I haven’t noticed you stealing. You can distract me all you want, but I know your games, Mr. Dumpling,” Pran said, leaning forward and poking his tongue out in Pat’s face before popping a dumpling in his mouth. Pat stuck his tongue out right back, which only goaded Pran into sticking his tongue out again, eyes going wide as he pulled a goofy face. Pat couldn’t help but giggle at the childishness, and ever the loser in their competitions, leaned forward and kissed the stupid look off of Pran’s face, and reeled in the way Pran’s eyes sparkled back at him with joy.
#lucky you for picking fics that I’ve actually written bits for#i seriously hadn’t even gone back to the pran shirtless one until today it’s been months god I had to dust the cobwebs off#and I rlly forgot everything I’d written i defo need to get that one out my system#but thank you for the ask lovely I hope these snippets are somewhere near what you’d hoped for#💖💖#bad buddy

Horror move night at Ben’s house with the ms gang! 🍿✨
As promised I’ve written a quick introduction to my Middle School au! All information will be under the read more 😊 :
Main plot (Spoiler warning for Ben 10 (2016) Movie) :
The big plot for this au is there’s a war going on in space. Since the Omnitrix was created fighting against planets emerged all due to Vilgax’s first use of the Omnitrix as a warlord. Though the fighting started off small, it soon escalated and began to grow larger and larger. 2-3 years of nonstop fighting soon formed into one big territorial war. Which is why Argit, Rook, & many other aliens are on earth. Everyone is looking for a safe planet to hide with their families, hoping whatever planet they find themselves in will be spared or undetected.
((I will elaborate more on the space war when I introduce Albedo & Attea))
Basic theme of the au:
The main theme to this au would be “Change” = Change in yourself, your friends, your life, & the universe around you! The reason I picked this specific theme was so each character can have their own arc/growth in this au. It also suits the coming of age themes that many kids go through in that age (their appearance, their morals, who they are, etc.) This au is still very new in my head but below I’d gather enough ideas I have for each of the characters!
((Some of it may change in the future))
Ben Tennyson:
After having the Omnitrix for 2 years, Ben thinks he can handle it all ((but boy is he wrong!)) Ben’s main character arc would revolve around making tough decisions and not being afraid to ask for help.
With beings coming from other planets, he’s gonna face off many new foes! Foes who do not care that he’s a child, beings who are willing to sacrifice a child for their own ideals. He’ll have to make decisions on who to trust and deal with the potential consequences with owning the watch. With bigger threats landing on earth Ben gets the fortunate and unfortunate of meeting new people! (Such as Albedo, Attea, & Julie)
It’s his choice now on who he’s willing to trust, help, and who to fight for. Lucky for him he’s not alone!
Fun Character Fact: Ben wears baggy clothes ((sweaters, hoodies, sweats, cargo pants)) due to a little body insecurity he has! He’s not so much ashamed of his body, just a little embarrassed and would prefer the comfort of his big green hoodie.
Gwen Tennyson:
Gwen goes to a private all ages school and is the top student in all her classes! Gwen’s main character arc would be dealing & learning about her new found powers. Not only that but to learn she doesn’t have to be what others perceive her as.
To elaborate on the second arc: My Gwen has grown into the role of being the Smart Kid™️. By being the top student she’s also pressured to fit a certain expectation by her teachers and peers. She has doubts of herself and wonders what’s deemed as “appropriate” for her intelligence ((like no more kiddy stuff, even if it interests her)).
This would come to fruition when her anodite powers emerge ((in the scariest way possible)) She’d start her daily routine the same only with a slight migraine problem. Migraines soon turn to ache and ache soon turn to her face cracking like a porcelain doll while at school. Afraid to ask any adult she asks help from Ben & Kevin ((Then Rook, Julie, & Argit who end up sneaking through Gwen’s window after they get dragged into hiding Gwen from her parents)). The whole event was scary but with clarification from her grandpa it all became clear.
Fun Character Fact: Ben can’t scan Gwen’s Anodite DNA into his watch due to the Omntrix stating “DNA already attained” since they’re related. He’d have to scan an Anodite not related to him by blood to absorb their DNA.
Kevin Levin:
Kevin in this au no longer wears his Anti-Trix. He took it off the first day of 7th grade and hadn’t put it on since. He’s not sure he’s cut out to be a hero and instead focuses his time on his crafts. Kevin’s main arc is one I have yet to think about fully. I’m not sure whether to have him grow into his osmosian DNA or have him go through a different self discovery. Bashmouth is my favorite alien of Kevin and I’m thinking of having him have his DNA altered like in the OS but with Bashmouth only. It’d make more sense to explain once I introduced Albedo later ((hopefully!))
Fun Character Fact: Kevin has gotten better with his mechanical skills and uses those skills to make the goofiest stuff ((Such as a mobile couch on wheel so he and the homies can ride it to get some smoothies)).
Rook Blonko:
Rook Blonko is a foreign exchange student, as far as anyone knows, who goes to Gwen’s school. Rook's main arc would be choosing to run or fight with the Tennysons.
Rook was originally sent to earth to see whether this planet was safe or not for his family to relocate to. Unbeknownst to him and his family, Rook would be staying with the cousin of the keeper of the Omnitrix. With this discovery Rook should have hopped to another planet to live in but he took the chance to know the user of the watch. Getting to know the Tennysons and the people of earth has changed Rook’s thoughts of his mission. Should he run away and save his own family or should he stay and fight with his new found friends and make sure no one else is forced to abandon their home.
Fun Character Fact: Rook stays with Gwen’s family. He’s introduced to Ben, Kevin, & Argit when Gwn begs them to hang out with Rook ((He’d often stay in his room studying and Gwen wanted him to socialize. She regrets it later when they all come home smelling like garbage)).
Julie Yamamoto:
Julie’s one of Bellwood Junior High’s top tennis players! She takes many AP classes which explains why Ben’s never seen her around school before. Julie doesn’t actually have an arc. She’s one of the characters willing to help no matter what. She’s first induced to alien knowledge when she saves Ben from a DNAlien. Through Ben she learns about the Omntrix, aliens, and what’s going on outside their planet. From then on she’s supported and helped Ben on his mission to save the world and beyond. If she had to give a reason as to why she’s helping she’d have two:
Innocent beings shouldn’t have to flee from their homes.
A 12 yr old shouldn’t have to deal with this alone.
She may be human but she’s willing to do what she can to make a difference in any means possible. ((She maybe reward too with a certain pet from space))
Fun Character Fact: Julie is a trans girl in this au 🏳️⚧️ Julie’s also super into horror media!
Argit:
Argit is the kid in the halls you can get anything from. Candy, chips, test answers, phone numbers, you name it! Like Rook, Argit’s main arc would be choosing to run or fight with the Tennysons.
Argit is one of the kids most affected by the war. He no longer has a planet and was forced to flee to another planet. Since his first foot step on earth he’s only looked out for himself. He adapted to his environment and learned to support himself. Argit’s the most afraid of the alien kid bunch to be outed as non-human. He’s already built so much for himself here on earth that he’s afraid of losing it all just for his appearance.
Argit would rather high tail away from any alien fights then stay and help. He doesn’t care much for the Tennysons but he does respect Kevin. But hanging out with Kevin means hanging out with The Tennyson twins. Hopefully their good nature will rub off on him.
Fun Character Fact: Argit is the treasurer of his 8th grade class! His least favorite person is Ben and if he had to pick a favorite between his friends (aside from Kevin) he’d pick Julie.
This au is still new and it may go through some changes later! Please tell me what you think!

Whew! It is now time to post the sequel for this little short series I made. Again, it’ll be no more than 7 chapters with the parts split if it’s a continuation. I’m super ecstatic to post this. I’ve been thinking, editing, and brainstorming ideas for this so I hope it reads well for you all. So please, come and enjoy KIMETSU DAIGAKU: SUNFLOWER’S BLESSING. The name may change in the future. Other than that, enjoy chapter 1! :> SN: All are welcome to read, but this is a POC reader insert, FYI. That is all! SN2: I studied Japanese for a time and studied abroad but that was years ago so excuse me if some of the written dialogue is rough. Wanted to show (reader) learning the language even if it’s real easy, conversational sentences. SN3: Rengoku in a button-up white shirt, khakis and a tie? *slams down credit card* - - - - - - - - Chapter I: RENGOKU-SENSEI, RENGOKU-SENSEI
Everyday, so far, was a surprise when it came to Rengoku.
You honestly didn’t know what to do with yourself. You had thought studying with Rengoku would be an after school sort of thing as you mingled in classes with other students but somehow, he was able to catch you from different periods for almost a whole week!
Mayamoto-sensei encouraged engagement with local students at the university so she allowed you to go with your new teacher everyday. Jealousy riled the others on how you were getting special treatment other than being the only brown-skinned girl on this trip.
It bothered you sometimes, because it wasn’t anything like that! But every greeting from Rengoku was positive and enthusiastic. He greeted you kindly in both English and Japanese. He taught you well, proving that he can be strict, attentive, and instructive. Then, at the end, he’d engage you in short conversations to see how well he was doing teaching you the language and how well you were catching on.
“You did great today, _____! You’ve already made great strides on your flow!”
“That’s because you’re a great teacher, Rengoku-sensei. You did have me sweating bullets the first few days, though. I didn’t think I would catch up.” You closed and put your notebook in your bag. “I feel bad because the others don’t like that I get one-on-one time with you like this.”
“Ah, they’re jealous, I see!” He crossed his arms over his chest, his smile forever wide. It was this pose that had you thinking this was déjà vu, but you don’t know why. “Then it can’t be helped! Don’t worry yourself about what they think!”
“I shouldn’t?”
“Nn!” He locked eyes with you again and spoke proudly with his chest out. “Set your heart ablaze and move onward!” An explosive aura filled the room and warmed your body. “No matter what anyone else says, you do what you think in your heart is right!”
Your heart beat fast and your stomach fluttered with butterflies. ‘Why does he look at me like that? Why does he make me feel this way?’ His burning gaze made you feel like he only saw you in his world, but you shook the thought away.
“Is there something on your mind, _____?”
Your eyes shifted, looking for anything else to say other than what was on your mind. It’d be weird to just be like, ‘hey, I like you and would jump your bones anytime!’ Instead, you found the clock and remembered. “I wanted to visit the flower shop, and see the flower arrangements. I saw one on my way to the girls’ dorm.”
“Let me accompany you!” Rengoku’s open offer made you blush. “I freed myself for the evening just in case!”
This shocked you. “W-what about your schoolwork?”
“I finished it all this morning before meeting with you!”
“And your… colorful friends??” You saw him speak with a few interesting people but he quickly came to you the moment you walked into the fray.
“I have already informed them of my plans this morning!” Your face cracked. He had an answer for everything! “I want to be a good teacher for you and help you as much as I can!”
“Why, Rengoku-sensei?” You asked, curious at what his reason could be.
“Because I like you, _____-chan!”
Your eyes almost popped out. ‘Like me? Like… ‘like me’ like me? Or just like being around me? Whew, boy, you need to stop playing with me because I don’t think my heart can take all of this!’
“Are you ready to go to the flower shop?”
“Y-Yes! Let me get my things, Rengoku-sensei.”
“Kyōjurō.” He corrected you.
“Oh! Kyōjurō…” you circled through the honorifics that he taught you, trying to remember which one was appropriate. “...-kun?”
“Hmm?” He sounded, wanting you to repeat yourself once more.
“Kyōjurō-kun, right?”
A small blush warmed his fair cheeks as he nodded in agreement. “Nn!” He hadn’t expected you to call him that fondly and it ignited his determination to get close to you. A month was not enough time, but he was going to make it work.
You both headed down the slope of the school, crossing a lone shop with beautiful arrangements set everywhere. You ‘ooh’ed and ‘awe’d at each flower that Rengoku named outloud. You repeated, of course. You felt like you were in your own heaven as you gazed at, touched, and smelled the flowers.
You were so happy.
What caught your eyes next were the large, golden blooms held high on long stalks. “Kyōjurō-kun,” he looked over and an overwhelming feeling washed over him when you stood next to the sunflowers, grinning from ear to ear as you asked him, “What’s a sunflower called?”
‘_____, if I could name them after you.’ He walked up next to you, bathing himself in your presence. “Himawari.”
“Himawari. Such a beautiful name for a beautiful flower.”
“I think so, too.” Rengoku wasn’t talking about the sunflower, however.
“Ah, konnichiwa,” you greeted the florist, “Kore wa ikura desu ka?” (How much is this?)
“Go-hyaku-jyuu yen desu.” (500 yen.)
“That’s like… 500 yen, yeah? I think I got it.” As you looked in your bag for the coins instead of breaking the 1000 yen bill.
“Arigatou gozaimasu!” (Thank you so much!) Rengoku bowed and received your wrapped sunflower before handing it to you. “Douzo, _____-chan!” (Here, _____!)
“Ah, Kyōjurō-kun, you didn’t have to buy it for me, but thank you so much!”
“Why wouldn’t I want to buy something for you?” He questioned as you both left the shop. “As I said, I like you, _____-chan! And I want to spend time with you outside of school.”
“Like… together?”
“Yes!”
“Oh, well, honestly, I’d be down for that! Since boys aren’t allowed in the girls dorm, where do you want to go? What do you want to do?”
“I want to kiss you,” he answered shamelessly, “Hold you, and never let you go!” You both made eye contact on the walk back. “Though, I have been holding myself back in case you didn’t like me.”
His words electrified you and he hadn’t even touched you yet in any way whatsoever. “It’s not like you’re handsome or anything…”
“You think I’m handsome?” He beamed suddenly.
You tried playing coy but this kind of mannerism didn’t work for you and, honestly, you liked Rengoku’s straightforwardness. “Yes, I do. When we first met, I liked you instantly. You made me feel so nervous and so excited at the same time.”
“Oh?” He thought for a moment. “Can I hold your hand?” He asked sweetly. “I don’t want you to feel nervous around me, only excited! Happy! Loved!”
“Are you sure that’s okay? Won’t people stare more than they already do at us?”
“I don’t care if they do or don’t! Let them stare! As long as I’m with you, I’m happy.” He gently linked his rough hands with your soft ones, locking them. “I feel I am the luckiest man alive right now because you’re here with me!”
“How many girls have you told that to?”
“Only you, my Sunflower!”
You choked on your own spit. “Your Sunflower? You’re so sure I’m not taken?”
“Yes and yes! I hope to have you for myself as well.”
“For my short time here?”
Rengoku shook his head. “Forever.”
‘Oh my god. Did he just charm his way into my heart?’ You felt the sincerity in his words and saw the genuity in his owlish eyes. “This all really feels like déjà vu.”
“Déjà vu?”
“Like this happened before. It’s… familiar.”
“Nn! It’s fate that we met as we did!”
‘Fate, huh?’ You didn’t notice that you arrived at the girls’ dorm. “Oh, we’re here!” You thought to loosen your hand from his but your arm suddenly didn’t work with you. He wasn’t letting go either. “Our plans tonight are…?”
“Nani o shitai desu ka?” (What do you want to do?)
“Uh!” Always catching you off guard like that kept you on your toes. Besides, practice made perfect. “Karaoke… ni ikitai desu yo!” (I want to go to Karaoke!)
“Nanji ni ikitai desu ka?” (What time do you want to go?)
Your thinking of literally translating what you wanted to say from English to Japanese made each response a little slow. It took time to gain fluency. “Hachiji ii desu ka?” (8 o’clock okay?)
“Close! “Hachiji de ii desu ka” but you did a great job nonetheless! And yes, 8 is fine with me.”
“So…” you felt reluctant to leave him now even if for a few hours, “I’ll see you later?”
“I’ll wait for you to change and pack up some clothes!” You looked at him incredulously. “As I said, I want to kiss you, hold you, and never let you go! At least for a night!” Though he spoke his desire, ‘Am I asking too much from her all of a sudden? I can’t read the cute and twisted expressions on her face yet. It is her choice to—’
“Let’s do it!” Rengoku’s mouth dropped in surprise. “The dorm gates close at 9pm anyway, for whatever reason, while the boys are allowed to go out and do as they please with the gate open.” You huffed, annoyed. “Oh. Where do you live?”
“I live in an apartment 20 minutes down the road.”
“All by yourself?”
“Mhm! I can’t wait to show you! So be quick, Sunflower!” He happily guided you across the gate by the small of your back.
You held in your panic as you got a set of clothes for tomorrow, gathering what you could quickly so you didn’t cross the other students and was out and about with Rengoku as soon as possible.
Honestly, you barely avoided them as you came outside, took him by the hand, and rushed off. They were sure to talk about you, or maybe not at all. You had an over friendly and trusting disposition to a fault, but you were adventurous and open minded. - - - - - - - - - - - Chapters: 1 (Part 1)/ (Part 2)/ (Part 3) | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7

Fic Wrap Up.
*feel free to ignore this if I tagged you
This is going to be my own fic wrap up, my first one ever because this was the birth of my Ao3 account, so all of my fics are from this year. I’ll try to keep things concise, but it’ll still be pretty long. I will do this in the form of a Read More after the first few fics. There are over 90, I’ll try to go alphabetically.
All of them are from the same fandom, BnHA, so that’s nice. More gen fics, less romance. Most of them are for series, events, other people’s aus - and I’ll make sure to share all of that when I share each fic, especially because some of the events are probably repeats and this is a little bit like free marketing [only tagging them once because that would get obnoxious, especially for the weekly event things I did]. Where We Land (Bonus) [A.B.]
A/N: I love this trope and some people’s reblogs and tags made me feel soft (looking at you @fallinallincurls and @hookingminor) so I figured I’d write a little bonus. If you want to see something specific with these two I might consider writing some more little extras like this. This one is set just a few years after they start dating so you get to see more of their dynamic as a couple and with Alex.
Word count: 1605
.
“Have a good day love,” Tito murmured as gently pressed his lips against yours. He was already dressed and his shoes were on, but he couldn’t leave without giving his two favourite people a goodbye kiss.
“Don’t go yet,” you groaned and reached out to wrap your arms around his neck. “Need more kisses.”
“I promise you’re getting all the kisses you want tonight,” he chuckled, having to put a hand out on the mattress to keep you from pulling him back to bed. “We can take a bath together after Alex is in bed?”
“I’ll be waiting,”
“Go study hard,” Tito left one last kiss on your forehead before pushing himself up and finally leaving the room.
Then, he went to see Alex and quietly knelt by the little boy’s bed to wake him up.
“Alex, come on, time to get up,” he shook the little boy’s shoulder until he stirred and then smiled. His son only groaned in response, opening his sleepy eyes and rubbing his hands over his face. “Breakfast is ready, I’ll open the curtains.” Tito informed him.
He leaned forward to kiss his cheek and got up to let light into the room.
It had become a routine since you came to live with them. Tito got ready for practice and let the two of you sleep, he made sure breakfast was ready right before he left and then he kissed the two of you goodbye. You got Alex ready once he was gone and dropped him off to school before getting to your own classes. In the afternoon, Tito would pick Alex up from school and you’d be home soon after them unless you had to spend extra time in the library to study.
“Have a good day, Alex,” Tito said before leaving the room, and the young boy waved from his bed.
“You too daddy!”
Less than ten minutes later he had devoured a large bowl of cereal and you were cleaning up in the kitchen while he got dressed in the clothes that had been laid out the previous night.
“Got everything for school?” You checked with Alex as soon as he was by the door. You had just been about to forget your phone, so you hoped he was less distracted than you.
“I need you to sign my book!” His eyes widened as he remembered, and he hurried to take his backpack off his shoulders to get the book out.
“Alex, daddy’s supposed to sign that,” you took it from him and checked what it was. It was just a few grades his teacher wanted parents to see, mostly A’s and a few B’s on short surprise tests.
“But Miss Werber is going to check if it was signed, I don’t want to be punished,” he looked at you with all the anxiousness a six years old could muster when it came to a teacher checking he had done his homework.
“Try to tell daddy the night before next time, okay?” You took a pen out of your bag and signed before handing it to him. “Come on, we don’t want you to be late,” you let him walk out the door first and watched as he skipped to your car.
You sighed after you dropped him off, hoping Tito wouldn’t mind you signing something for Alex. He was still his son, no matter how much you took care of him you hadn’t discussed everything about your responsibilities towards him. Up until now Tito was always the one to sign school things for him; Miss Werber wouldn’t even recognise your signature. At least it was fancy enough that she would know Alex didn’t just make up something himself, so you hoped that’d be enough to keep him out of trouble.
.
Meet you for lunch?
The text from Tito came just as you were leaving the library to get yourself something to eat. Your friends had left you a few minutes ago and you told them you’d meet them as soon as you were done with your assignment. You texted them to let them know you wouldn’t be joining and replied to Tito so that he wouldn’t rush.
Sounds good, my next class is at 2
Be there in 20
You smiled to yourself as you walked a little further past your usual café. Tito had met you there a few times, but there were too many students in it and far too many of them happened to be hockey fans. Instead, the two of you had picked a lovely place only a few blocks further to meet at when he wasn’t busy during your lunch hours. You liked that they had small booths rather than just tables, they offered more privacy.
You got there first and picked a booth in a corner away from a window. You wanted a quiet lunch with Tito and sitting by the window meant there was a high chance of someone recognising him. Most people didn’t bother him, especially when he was sitting in a café and they spotted him by the window, but the stares made you uncomfortable.
You liked having a routine like this with him, and you wondered what would become of it at the end of the year. You would graduate then, it would be the end of five hard years and you’d be able to apply for the jobs you were interested in as something other than an intern. You hoped it’d be close to this place, or that there’d be something similar nearby where you and Tito could become regulars.
“So, how was your morning?” Tito asked after greeting you with a kiss and sitting across from you.
“It was good, pretty busy,” you said and interrupted yourself when someone came up to take your orders. “Um, Alex also asked me to sign something for school this morning. I know we never really talked about that but I didn’t want him getting in trouble,”
“Please tell me you’re not worried about what I might think because you signed a paper for Alex,” Tito reached out to take your hand over the table, and you gave him a small shrug. “We live together, you take care of him like he’s your own kid and drive him to school every day. Of course you can sign school stuff for him,”
“Okay, it’s just… I don’t know, we didn’t talk about it before I didn’t want to overstep,” you explained, still shy under his bright blue eyes.
“You never overstep, but fine, let’s talk about it now,” he nodded, lacing his fingers through yours and rested his elbow on the table to prop his head up with his free hand. You gave him a quiet ‘okay’ before he continued. “Remember last week when I asked where do you see yourself in five years?”
“Yeah?” You wondered where he was going with it, but you recalled the conversation perfectly.
“You told me you see us, with Alex, maybe in a house with a garden, and a puppy.”
“I remember,” you smiled at the thought. You had been staring at the ceiling in Tito’s bedroom, his hand in yours as you talked about the future. There was so much ahead to imagine, so many possibilities and decisions to take together. The conversation had ended in kisses that left your lips red and swollen.
“Well I can see that too, you know? And I thought about it a lot, and maybe… maybe it could also be with another kid too, when we’re ready. And if you want that with me,” he added, a little shyer now that he had said that. The talk was supposed to be about Alex but he couldn’t help bring this up.
“I want everything with you,” you reassured him, giving his hand a squeeze that made him smile. Neither of you were ready for it just now, but it was something you had already thought of for the rest of your relationship.
“Then please, don’t ever feel like you’re overstepping when you take care of Alex. You’re always there for him no matter what, when he’s ill and you pick him up from school in the middle of the day, when he wakes up at night and comes to find one of us, when you come watch him skate even on the days you’re supposed to be studying.” Tito listed what he could think of at the top of his head, but the truth was you were there in every single moment and he couldn’t be more thankful for it. “You’re always there, and you know what that means?”
“I’m sure you’re about to tell me,” you felt your eyes begin to pool with tears, and Tito’s next words were enough to make a tear roll down your cheek.
“That means you’re Alex’s mom in all the ways that matter.” He said it with such conviction that all you could do was nod and wipe your cheeks with the hand he wasn’t holding. “No tears, please,” he smiled softly, clasping both of his hands over yours and bringing it up to his lips to leave a kiss on your knuckles.
“You can’t just show up for lunch and tell me that and expect no tears,” you laughed in disbelief, sliding out of your seat to join him on the other side of the booth. Tito welcomed you with open arms and you rested your head on his shoulder for a moment. “I love you so much,”
“I love you too,” he kissed the top of your head. “And Alex loves you more than you know.”
