Ok considering i have sheith shippers/defenders dni in my intro post and I really dont feel like wasting my time today ill try to keep it short and wont be responding to shit like this down the line. 1) they’re brothers. Sure it’s revealed much later in the seasons, but the point is they have an incredibly strong familial relationship. If you started off shipping sheith when they weren’t explicitly defined as brothers, fine. But after their familial relationship is revealed the choice to continue shipping those two specifically comes off as strange as hell. Even stranger when you consider the multiple other available male characters that are not only more age appropriate but also dont have a familial relationship with them lmao. Also Shiro canonically gets married to a man. So the choice to continue shipping sheith has to go beyond just wanting to guys to kiss. The next common denominator? They’re both asian, so I must conclude that the need to ship them comes from that. The next next common denominator is that they’re related and some of you just have a thing for incest. But i still have faith in humanity so i wont accuse you of that even though i occasionally feel the urge to. I refuse to take “but but they have the most in show relationship development” as a reason because that just means you’re too fucking lazy to think of your own scenarios. Which is not true, because the amount of devious ass sheith shit I unfortunately stumble across means your collective neurons are actively firing away. Just for the wrong thing. You guys really saw the only real developed relationship (i use this word generally and not strictly romantically) between two guys in the show and decided that it must have romantic undertones. 1.5) bcs i know someones gonna ask “why do you think sheith is incest”, its because shiro fulfills the kinship role of “sibling” for keith, or even “parent”. From here-on out simplified as “guardian”. Within anthropology there are numerous kinship systems which determine which family member is called what. Ex. In the hawaiian system, every male family member is called “father” and every female “mother”. No matter if they birthed you or not. In the linear (also known as esk/mo but that’s a word with heavy history) system, your parents are “mom/dad”, siblings are defined as “brother/sister”, and everyone else is “aunt/uncle” or “cousin”. This is the system commonly used in the west. Kinship systems define a lot of things, from inheritance to respect hierarchies. Another key thing they determine is incest taboo. Hence adoptive siblings, etc. And keith quite explicitly refers to shiro as his brother. Given the context of those scenes, it can be deduced that it’s not said in a way that is 1) casual, as the lingo would more likely be “sup bro” or the tone of voice would be significantly more casual, 2) indicative of anything other than a familial relationship, for if keith considered him a brother in arms he would’ve said something more along the lines up “on your feet, brother”. Keith saying “you’re like my brother” AND THEN DOUBLING DOWN TO “You’re my brother,” said in such a sincere tone of voice leaves little to be debated.

Tldr: Shiro fulfills a guardian kinship role for Keith and thus the incest taboo applies to him.

1.6) also like? It’d be weird either way. Going by their canon age diff (season 1, 25-18 = SEVEN YEARS), and considering shiro met keith in middle school, and going by the oldest middle school age (15) bcs im feeling generous, shiro wouldve still been 22. If they just met once and never again till seasom 1, fine. Ship sheith however you want. But the fact is they met and then they formed a bond when shiro was significantly older and in a position of power over keith. Shiro was a mentor and guardian to keith whether you like it or not, and he stayed that way from when keith was young and impressionable until he was an adult. Yk what thats called? Raising a child. AW MAN THIS IS SUPER HARD. of the nublar 6 my favorite designs in camp cretaceous are tied between yasmina and brooklynn from s3 onward, mostly because i love the way they both wore their hair. in chaos theory darius totally wins over everyone else though, the team really nailed his design there (but i am really fond of some of the concepts the artists came up with during pre-production! same goes for the other campers, especially brooklynn. that bleach blonde pixie cut is my roman empire tbh)

as for biggest glow up ... i feel obligated to give that one to ben, if just because of the growth spurt. also gonna take this opportunity to go on the record and say LEAVE KENJI ALONE I GET THAT HE'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK A BIT ROUGH BUT HIS HAIRCUT ISN'T THAT BAD 😭😭😭

2. Dilophosaurus - How did you discover Camp Cretaceous?

so, i didn't actually start watching camp cretaceous until a few months after the final season wrapped up—i think sometime around september 2022? but i had some close friends who had been keeping up with it for a while, and after hearing them talk about it so much i was like, hey, i want in! which is funny, because i was never really into jurassic park/world before then? i was more of a marine biology kid than a dino kid growing up. but even without knowing the ~lore~ of the franchise, CC and its characters still managed to reel me in, and now i'm here nearly two years later and my hyperfixation is still going strong!

3. Compy - Favorite duo/trio/friendship and why?

favorite purely platonic duo goes to ben and yasmina EASILLYYYY. they just get each other on such a personal level, and i love seeing ben go from this kid yasmina begrudgingly tolerates to someone she trusts enough to confide in, both in JWCC s5 when she realizes she might harbor romantic feelings for sammy, and then again in JWCT s1 when her relationship with sammy has hit a rough patch. shout out to yasmina and darius though, their interactions in JWCC s2 were really sweet, they don't get enough love imo. i've said this at least three billion times before but if kenji is darius's shitty older brother then yasmina is darius's cooler older cousin

as for my favorite trio, i feel like most people would probably say either yasammy + ben or the original three (darius kenji and brooklynn) but for me it's darius brooklynn and ben 🥹 their individual dynamics all mean so much to me, and it doesn't hurt that i also lowkey highkey ship them as an OTV with darius in the middle (although if i had to seriously ship ben with any of the girls, it'd be brooklynn, lol)

Peridot and Unlearning (Internalized & Externalized) Homophobia

i.e., here's why peridot's redemption arc is partially (a metaphor?) about unlearning homophobia

the title sounds crazy but bear with me here.

let's start off with saying NO, fusion does not = romantic love. that's an age old discourse and it can be so easily solved by stating there are many different forms of love, and sometimes fusion is just for power (which is a form of love in-of itself, albeit fucked; the love for power or toxic love) HOWEVER, in many cases, such as Garnet's, it most certainly is about romantic love. so to keep it as brief as possible, thats what we have in mind in this post. it's gay love okay.

now, let's talk about the scene i just captioned. this is from the episode "too far," which is an episode about developing a crush and accidentally hurting them in the process of trying to impress them. (however you want to look at it, but thats how i interpret it) the fact it starts off with casual homophobia is important, coz it shows peridot still has a lot of prejudices despite recently becoming part of the team, which is full of gay people, undeniably.

peridot's redemption arc is partially about coming to terms with your sexuality, retraining your mind from internalized homophobia after being raised in such a homophobic society/household, and becoming proud of your sexuality / identity.

furthermore, i thought it'd be fair to include peridot learning how to respect how people identify in other ways, such as names / how they prefer to be addressed. this, most of the time, goes hand-in-hand with homophobia.

i should add she also eventually learns how to respect Garnet's whole deal in the same episode (log date 7 15 2) which was also a huge moment in her unlearning homophobia. which, btw if you dont know or dont remember, Garnet does by comparing herself to peridot's (assuming) gay ship between Percy and Pierre from Camp Pining Hearts, saying she was the optimized version of herself (the reason peridot "ships" them; theyre the best team logically according to her analysis ship chart)

anyways, now the biggest most obvious point is the fact that peridot actually is gay. i've referred to this episode a few times now, but thats becoz it really is a huge point in proving my 'thesis';

in the episode "too far," peridot is shown to get obsessed with impressing amethyst. peridot experiences something they havent yet up until this point: a crush. i mean, you can interpret it as you wish, but thats how i saw it. the butterflies, the obsession with making someone laugh, the fact peridot states amethyst is objectively the best gem of the crystal gems and emphasizes "damaging her standing with the best gem here" with their apology to amethyst after hurting her feelings.

ORCZY'S FAN FICTION RECOMMENDATIONS

Hi there! I tought I would share some of my favourite fanfictions I've read since April last year, as sort of a recap and also recommendations. These are all longer stories btw, ranging from 78K to  236K words. Hope you find something that piques your interest :D

-Varian's Tangled Trials by IFoundYouJustineTime and TheArtistsMuse A complete Vat7k story adapting the original creators' plot points into an amazing, 24 chapters (episodes) long fic that reads like an actual cartoon. If you're new to Vat7k or Tangled The Series, or even if you haven't seen the latter (like me), you WILL enjoy this. If you like a fun adventure with a bunch of nerds as a found family, this is for you.

-What Summer Meant to You -If I Really Hated you (and I really, really do) both by Battybatzgirl First one's a battle of the bands/modern AU, second is an AU where the boys are rival engineers, both focusing on the ship Varigo. The writing style is what made me stay and read these to the end. Incredibly funny and entertaining to read, the way Varian and Hugo are characterised is just. So good. If you like a well written, lighthearted, romantic comedy, this is for you. (Both include some skippable adult scenes, but the story is much more about the romance)

-Making End's Meet by Meltthepoint As the author's name suggest, this is a melting point (Donella x Ulla) story, set in a modern setting. Donella enrolls Hugo into this new school, who then befriends Varian. Ulla and Donella meet again. This is about how two women make up and start anew after their lives went into directions they didn't want. The story is much more character focused, a really fun read. Very insightful about the women's characters. An exception, as I still haven't finished reading it. Definitely not the type of fic I can binge read, but I'm really enjoying it.

At the end of everything by Squirrelflight A Night in the woods AU (haven't played the game, you don't have to, to read it), and unfinished as of yet, but man. Worth checking out! Unlike the stories above, this one's definitely darker and has a really tense aura. Love it. The writing is so good it makes me so thrilled about what will happen next! I also really like, once again, the characterisation.

-You can stay here by KALL A pre canon story about how Pigsy and Tang adopt MK, how MK gets to be in a safe environment and starts figuring himself out. Great writing style, entertaining plot, what more could I ask for? (maybe an update lol) As of yet, unfinished, and hasn't been updated since late 2022. The author actually posted ( https://www.tumblr.com/its-kall-the-clown/735524530668371968/are-you-going-to-be-updating-any-fics-on-your-ao3 ) about wanting to rewrite the story sometime. Which is great! In case you're reading this, take as long as you want!

-A garden across our collarbone by PittedPeaches Spicynoodle soulmate AU where what you write, or in MK's case, draw on your skin, appears on the soulmate's skin as well. Red Son's journey of (very slowly, this is a slowburn) falling in love with MK. A lot of inner monologues, the story plays out more like a retelling of what happened from Red Son's perspective. Kind of like a diary entry and I LOVE IT. I actually didn't understand the pairing before reading this, nor was I that invested in Red Son's character. This fic changed everything. (it also sends you good luck if you read it on the train! I acquired: friends!)

RIPTIDE

-BREAKING FREE! by earlgray_milktea A fish 'n chips Highschool Musical AU (another thing I haven't seen, you don't need to, to read this). The writing is so undoubtedly Disney, it is at times so over the top dramatic, you can't help but smile at half the interactions. The charm is big on this one. The characters are exagerated but somehow not (completely) out of character. Basically if Riptide was on Disney, this is exactly how they'd act. Also it's just really, really cute.

-Depths of Natarus by goldpines Chip Mermaid AU set in an Undersa/Oversea war, focusing on Fish n Chips as well as Jay Ferin (my girl!). Two reasons why you should read this right now. First: the descriptions are SO detailed and immersive! It made me also kinda have a crush on Gillion Tidestrider. How. Second: it made me care about Jay. And the way she's written here is just so so great. You can tell the author knows what they're doing, the feels just keep coming, I alost teared up multiple times. This story makes you feel a lot of emotions at once, an overall amazing reading experience.

And these were my favs since last April. Specifically the ones that made me go absolutely insane. In a good way. Again, if you have any good recommendations (preferably longer stories, but shorter ones are also fine), please feel free to share them.

sonic frontiers was the best mainline sonic game in over a decade but thats really not saying much

i think tangle is kinda boring and whispangle is kinda boring by proxy. whispers cool tho

surge is the best rival sonic character since blaze and the only thing dragging her down is that sonic in the idw comics kinda sucks as a character

its great that we are getting more female characters in idw and the games but quite a lot of them are kinda boring and we still need more female villains

metal sonic is basically nothing but a jobber in idw rn and its really depressing

idw please treat the babylon rogues better, theyre goofy characters with serious storylines just like basically every other sonic character, stop making them NOTHING but a joke

lanolin is an interesting character, yall just cant handle women who are even SLIGHTLY rude to a fan favorite character

the worst part of idw is that its tied to game canon because they cant shake up the status quo too much or have character arcs for most of the main characters

rouge is ABSOLUTELY a sexualized character and always has been. learn to like a character despite the faults in how they are portrayed or shut up about it

sally was the best canon romantic partner for sonic and you cant change my mind

the second worst part of idw is the titular character himself

i dislike surg/amy because of the age difference andalso the fact that everyone wants to disregard surges character to have her be redeemed

if sega is going to keep teasing son/amy then they should just stop dancing around it and make them canon already, make the shippers happy and get the drawn out agony over with for the rest of us. also age amy up for the love of allthat is holy

also, sega should stop ship teasing ships they have no intention of making canon in general, its shitty and edges into queerbaiting when done with gay ships

idw art is overall much much MUCH better than any other sonic comic and its not even a contest

there are a lot of things i disagree with about the current state and direction of this franchise but we are in a much better place than we were even just two years ago and we should be glad for all this success

I think that they're neat

only for like Canon Remus though i haven't seen much of this Alpha dude one because i don't really read Marauders fic much unless it's time travel but a lot of the appeal to me personally in this ship is how much of a sopping wet cat Remus is

it's another one of those Give Percy a Loser Boyfriend ships to me

(and i mean that as a positive btw like Stercy and Flintley fall into that category too for me)

I'm in the minority here and i know it but i'm a sucker for Teacher/Student and Remus is one of the few teachers I would find fun paired with Percy even though i don't think anything would actually happen in that year without a strong push from like a potion/spell accident but still

I don't know much on how well they would like last in like a normal scenario because of them having alot of like differences in like ideology as well as the general Remus likes to push people away thing because he sees himself as a monster

there is a difference in their individual opinions on Dumbledore which i do think would cause some tension

I also don't think Percy is as the ends justify the means as Remus is not that he isn't at all just he's not at all

my personal favorite way to pair them is actually in a soulmate au because I just find it the most interesting and dont think Percy would stick around to someone trying so hard to push him away unless there was something tangible holding them together

like i love the concept of Remus finding out way before Percy (think like a first sight one where it happened while Percy was too young to actually have memories of it) and Remus doing his whole "oh woe is me they are better off without me" routine while Percy on the other hand is convinced he doesn't have one at all and that kinda breaks his romantic little heart a bit because I do think he would hate to not have one especially if this an AU where even Charlie had one (its a platonic one) to him it would mark Percy as other even more then he already feels he is

Even better if Molly and Arthur are in on the ruse because they agree with Remus about it being better if Percy wasn't tied to him because I can see Molly specifically agreeing with that and doing that because she honestly 100% thinks its best for him.

Hiiii,

Just wanna say, thank you for giving a space where I feel better to word my crticisms for GOS2. It's funny, in real life, everyone I watched the show with agrees that there's a massive tone shift between season 1 and 2 and that we don't particularly like it, yet when I come on tumblr, everyone screams at me how perfect everything was. Which is fine, it's great for them if they truly loved it, for me, there's just too much drama.

Thing is, I'm a huuuge fan of the book, simply because as someone raised in a church who took the Second Coming very serious, Good Omens the book managed continuously to make me laugh about something that used to terrify me as a child. It was a very healing experience to me, also since it's rather a jab at conservative anglicanism than anything else, so I didn't feel weird as a Christian to read it. And that was a first for me with a fictional media dealing with angels and demons.

But now with the second season, it's basically what Christian-inspired fantasy always looked like and I'm tired. Also, because apparently, Aziraphale just can't get it right, anymore, hated how the 19th-century-plot made look Crowley the reasonable one NO MATTER WHAT. (Also, where does this fit with Zira canonically having done several temptations at this point?)

Also, I actually am an Ineffable Husbands shipper, yet I cannot tell you to what end this kiss frustrated me. Simply because I ship them as my one fluff couple and in my hc, they always smoothly transitioned from being friends to lovers. And that's why this dramatic love declaration and kiss from Crowley feel so out of place for me. It makes me sad, also as a queer person, because I cannot remember one queer couple ever on screen which was just allowed to be functional and not angsty. (I mean, yes, heartstopper, but this show got problems all on its own) It just feels weird that, in my impression, now that we go into the romantic direction with these two, we also need to get ~drama~.

But well, moving on~

The book did seem more edgy (for lack of a better word) and poked fun at religious themes more light-heartedly while the show does seem to approach it more......Supernatural-y......😂 also yeah, I saw somebody else say this but show!Aziraphale doesn't seem like one that would even agree to the Arrangement in the first place.

I love when writers add flavour to their x reader stories by giving the reader different dynamics so much because it not only allows for us readers to explore different types of stories and facets of our personalities but also opens up for all different types of pairings;

The kind and soft hearted reader who is always open minded to the one character that needs that balance and compassion

The gruff and emotionally closed off reader who deserves to be comforted and feel safe instead of feeling constantly (emotionally or physically) on the defense

Reader, offhandedly as they walk by: This morning I fought a rat for half a bagel... I lost. That was a new low.

Mihawk, internally: fuck, they're meeting all my standards!

Or with a himbo, honestly. I love me some himbo reader (I love thembo&bimbo but my preference is specifically for himbo, which transcends gender btw, all heart and muscle and no brain)

There really aren't many that I don't enjoy writing/reading. But in particular I'm really big on oposites-atract situations.

Like:

Zoro with a silly bubbly reader that makes him lighten up a little

Sanji with a romantically oblivious reader that his flirting just doesn't work on

Shanks with serious reader that struggles to keep the dumb himbo in line but still thinks he's just adorable

Buggy's overdramatic ass with an aloof reader that knows how to calm him down

Crocodile is an exception here because I wanna pair him with character/reader that's just as cunning and manipulative as he is and watch the whole thing catch fire, I'm thinking about it way too much and I'm bound to start writing him and Wren before long

And definitely Mihawk, as composed and high-maintenance as he is, with the human equivalent of an opossum. Just an absolute dumpster-fire of a reader. Acting all annoyed about it but secretly finding it endearing and feeling compelled to take care of them. Honestly the exact dynamic I'm aiming for with him and Karimi in Hearing Problems, with her total disregard for self-preservation.

I've never written a himbo reader since I primarily write female readers, but they're among my favorite breed of character in general. Janx and Lyon provide my himbo fix. Just writing dumb little drabbles of their interactions for my own entertainment.

"Maaaan." Janx spun the globe sitting on top of the desk in the captain's cabin. "I hate it when ovens explode."

"Again?" Lyon's brow furrowed as he looked up at his first mate, turning his own attention from a map also sitting on the desk. "Is that why you look like you've been on fire recently?"

"More or less, yes," he said, shrugging slightly as he continued his examination of the globe.

"And you caused it, I'm assuming?" He shrugged slightly again. "Wren's going to murder you in your sleep one of these days." He was met with yet another noncomittal shrug. Lyon shook his head and looked back down at the map. He frowned at it for a few moments before picking it up, crumbling it into a ball, and tossing it over his shoulder in annoyance, grumbling under his breath about coordinates before turning his attention back to his first mate. "You're paying for the new one out of your cut this time."

"But I spent everything in Jaya. We were out of whiskey, we needed more, so I took the liberty of purchasing it myself."

"The fact that you're the reason we were out notwithstanding—"

"And what are we supposed to do until I��get the money?" Janx went on lamenting, ignoring the accusation. "Not eat? I can't not eat. The oven is in flames right now because I was being forced to not eat."

"But I feel like I need to be thinking straight," said Lyon, still blinking in a confused manner.

Janx opened the door and looked over. "Then you're too sober for your own damned good."

The crew didn't return until later that evening, and when they did, they found Janx collapsed in the middle of the deck, covered in raw egg, pieces of eggshell, feathers, and ink. He smelled of something like dirty mop water and looked as though he had been utterly defeated. A few stopped to snigger at him, but most just walked past and ignored him. Lyon stopped by him upon finding him and looked down at him, giving a snort of laughter.

"Learned your lesson, I take it?"

Janx managed to sit up and nodded. "I had to chase her all over the ship for five hours straight," he said weakly. "I'm so tired I could sleep for weeks. I've learned that the next time you tell me I'm babysitting your hellspawn, I should probably just jump ship and let the ocean take me."

Okay thoughts on the preview of TSATS .

Spoiler alert obviously

I think that a lot of nico seemed to be mischarecterised in the preview. I am all for nico healing and changing and stuff and I am not saying he should stay the same as he was when we last saw him in ToA but it was only been a few weeks from that point so its a bit out of character. It seemed like Mark was trying to write Nico with percy or Leo's character.

The scene with solangelo+Kayla+Austin was super cute but I do think it could be written better. As in made more riordanversey.

Nico being a fan of grey sisters is probably one of the most accurate thing in this book about nico

Apart from nico the other characters too were a bit out of character

Camp empty doesn't make sense. I think they should make it into very few campers or give a different explanation like the CHB campers being able to go to new rome and study there during winter as long as they serve in the legion during their stay or something like that

We saw Will's outfit in the dream coming.

The Jason scenes.... idk felt a little bit weird. I adore their friendship and do not ship them romantically. I think that the dynamic wouldn't work. I think they are better of with Jason being nico's older sibling (mom) type friend. I don't think that anything described in the book is inherently romantic btw. Friends can totally do that . But I do feel like they are trying to build something there and I hope I am wrong

Nico not having Hade's dream control is against canon cause not only does he have that power it also is important to the story line in more than one occasion. I say it would make sense if he was unable to control this one dream or his recent dreams

That being said

Mark definitely knows how to write horror. I could even say that they seem to write horror better than Rick.

That dream was the best riordanverse dream of all time imo.(plot wise)

The first scene . This is going to be amazing. By that I mean heart breaking and terrifying

Also Will's face turning into a monster in the dream could be a foreshadow. We all think that the turn back part is Orpheus Euridice . But what if they are misleading us. Or what if there is further more that just that. Now as good as dark!will is i don't think will is a secret villan. There is however a chance that a monster could disguise itself as will in some point of the book or maybe some haunting. Or maybe the monster wasn't attacking nico. Maybe will has more super powers up his sleeve still unknown to us and him. Tartarus brings out the worst. Maybe will can turn into something. Maybe he does that at one point to fight some monster but it terrifies nico the way Percy's poison control terrified annabeth . I know ast this point I am talking out of my ass but I am expecting this book to have multiple twists and turns that we would not have seen coming

All in all. This preview was good in terms of plot but did not do the best job in terms of characters. I say that we don't have to worry much tho cause this is just the first draft that Mark wrote and Rick would have most likely made changes to the characters to fit canon. I do think there will still be some inconsistencies but all riordanverse books have some inconsistencies.

How I feel about this character

My love, my life, my entire sunshine. Clark is a character that has been with me for a long time. I grew up watching him with my family and I don't have a great relationship w/ my parents, but Smallville and the OG Superman movies with Christopher Reeve are the only times we would get together and be normal. I actually don't have many other good memories of my childhood. The rest is absence or trauma!

Also, the irony of my love of Superman is when people tell me I should be nicer and absolutely good because I like him. I will poo poo on any man that tells me that, BUT I do believe in being the change I wanna see in the world which is why I choose to act with kindness first, etc. People forget Superman can be firm too.

I just think Clark Kent is such a positive and human character with great empathy. What a beautiful duality, an alien with godly powers who reflects the most wonderful parts of humanity. I know a lot of people think he's boring, too, but I think he goes through so much.

This character is my peace.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I like seeing the weight on Clark's shoulders when it comes to saving the world, it's one of the things I appreciated with the Zack Snyder series, if nothing else. I wish it wasn't the only thing showcased in that version because there's something to be said about the loneliness of hearing all the world's pain and still choosing to smile. I don't see many people diving into the loneliness/depression, but that could also be me projecting in my writing who knows! Either way, no matter how heavy things get, there's a reason he's called the Man of Tomorrow. (At least, that's how I like to see it 😊

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Oh my god, there's SO MUCH that happens in canon that I can't keep up. I'm not up to date with current comics, especially Supersons, but I really wish that there was more nuance to the choice of Clark having a child with Lois. I always imagined Lois to be hyper career driven, and I really like the idea of house-husband Clark. I wish we would see more of that; I know they both would support each other and prioritize their careers, but I'm really fond of Clark being a stay-at-home dad doing domestic things and helping Jon with silly school things. Love those lighthearted moments.

OH and I will ALWAYS take more of Clark with his nephews and nieces in the batfam (AND MORE FLASHFAM LOVE FROM CLARK TOO!!!) Barry and Clark deserve more screentime and adventures together, it would be SO wholesome!!

In space, the stars never went away. For as much as Celci complained about all the windows installed on the Invincible II, they made it possible to see all the faraway specs of light, the occasional floating rock or two. There were times they even passed another planet, off in the distance. 

The large floor-to-ceiling window in the control deck was the Captain’s favorite place to stare out from. Especially when everyone else went to sleep for the day, it gave them a sense of tranquility that contrasted so definitively from the hustle and bustle of keeping this ship and its crew in working order. Mark knew that if the Captain were anywhere, it would be there. He lit up when he saw them. 

“Captain! Care for a drink?” Mark asked, smiling, as he swung around the control panel. He held two champagne glasses. This particular reset was a relatively peaceful one; the two of them, the Captain and he, had found a way to get the ship out of the wormhole without immediately dying. They lost some of the crew and frozen passengers but nothing compared to the other times the universe reset itself. A bit of celebration was in order and even then, Mark really wanted to share a dignified drink. 

The Captain was indeed in front of the large window in the control deck. Their helmet covered their head, as it always did, but Mark knew them well enough. The way their shoulders were sagged even as their hands were cupped behind their back. The extremely slow rise and fall of their chest as they breathed. Frowning, Mark set the glasses down on the panel and asked, “Something on your mind, Captain?”

They turned and regarded him for a moment before speaking, soft and clear, “Do you think this is the one?”

Mark didn’t answer. They continued, “We’ve gotten out of the wormhole before and then it resets anyways. Later. How are we sure--”

“Captain.” Mark gently reached for their arm. “If it happens again, you’ll figure out a way. I know you will.”

He grabbed one of the champagne glasses and placed it firmly in the Captain’s open hand. Then, he grabbed a glass for himself and playfully hit it against the other. It made a clink! noise. Mark smiled, “You’re the captain! Nothing you can’t do, eh?”

The Captain stared at their glass for a moment. Mark maintained his smile and in a move he never saw coming, the Captain laughed. It was short but loud, relaxed but gleeful, and their free hand lifted up their helmet’s visor. Among the crew, it was nonexistent to see the Captain’s face but Mark knew them from way back and trust came with that longevity. The big smile the Captain had on their face was still the same as ever.

“Thank you, my engineer,” they said.

“Always, Captain. I was planning on just one drink but you seem like you need more. Wanna go raid Gunther’s stash?”

“He has a stash of alcohol on my ship?”

Mark winked. “You didn’t hear it from me.”

3. Romantic headcanon for fave ship.

Okay so my fave romantic ship is actually SoMa. You probably were hoping for another pair from me though heheh so I'll do two for this one.

I'm realizing that I'm not good at thinking of romantic headcanons for SoMa, because I see them as kids and not getting too romantic till post-canon... So I guess these are more just...intimacies? I like the idea that Soul helps Maka on and off with her boots. Look at those things... They are HEAVY. And I honestly can't tell without going back to look at screenshots but it looks as if the metal? Is an external thing, kind of like the spikes you put on snow boots to walk through ice? It looks like the metal may be its own thing altogether that she wears just for combat's sake. Which...well man, her legs must be strong. But yeah... I feel like Soul helps her on/off with her boots. Which is quite a personal thing. And then Maka, I feel like she does Soul's laundry and specifically hand-washes his head bands for him. Rich boy don't know how to do laundry when he first comes to the academy, fight me... And rather than make fun of him, Maka just...helps. And with the head bands specifically she takes that extra care because they're important to him, to the look he's after. And she never says a word about it, and he probably only shyly and guiltily tells her thanks every other week or so. They don't talk about it. It's just something she does. And then...I like to think he lets her hear him play. Like if he's sitting in his room, writing a new song on his guitar... She creeps up to the door to listen, peering in the crack... He left it open to let her know she's welcome. And she just sits there silently listening to him compose, knowing that in itself is a gift. And he lets his soul be seen in that way, cuz that's so deeply personal.

As for Spirit and Stein, which is who I assume you were really asking about... Shockingly I prefer them platonically, but on the romantic side... And this is all post-canon thoughts for me, for these two, btw.

I think they're actually absurdly gentle with each other, when it comes to physical things. Too much past baggage for both of them individually and together, so they are extremely cautious together and make no assumptions. And if ever things heat up they take a step back and make sure they're both okay. They take things at their pace, neither rushing ahead of the other. Also, Spirit is the one in charge lol. Also I think they spend a lot of quiet time together. Spirit reading some deep book about the history of witch-kind, Stein next to him on the couch studying weapon soul anatomy on his laptop. Till one of them falls asleep against the other, and then oh well trapped forever now guess it's nap time. Just...quiet intimacies like that. They've been together so long that words aren't that necessary; just being together is enough. They already know what the other is thinking. Apparently I'm not creative with romance lol.

5. A crossover related headcanon.

Ho-boy. I don't care for crossovers, lol. But here we go...

Guess I'll pick Kim Possible because it's the thing I have spent the most time in for the last four or five years. (My gosh who let me do that oh it was me oops.)

Mental image of Stein looking at Dr. Drakken, the two sizing each other up, noting each other's similar scars... (my gosh I have a type and that type is mad scientist apparently) and Stein privately thinking to himself... Why is this guy blue? Why's his girlfriend green and have these crazy powers that def aren't soul wavelength? Gotta "befriend" these people and then dissect them.

Meanwhile Dr. Drakken is looking at the screw in Stein's head like, boy you got a screw loose for sure if that's in fact real and how are you still alive? Are you a zombie? Feeling a little scared of him.

Until. Spirit just de-transforms out of Stein's hands and Drakken is like....human weapon??? Okay time to "befriend" these people and figure out how to get my own human weapons.

Basically, mad scientists figuring out how to manipulate the other toward their personal goals.

I'm not creative lol I'm sorry. Crossovers are just not where my thoughts go. Hope it was entertaining enough anyway.

ok ok ok so basically I sent you a buncha Yosuke Hanamura stuff lmao bc I misunderstood how the thing works but this will be so awesome and evil >:)

How I feel about this character I feel a lot of things about this fucking goober I relate to him a lot in the ways he interacts with others and just his generally low self esteem lmao. I rotate him in my mind a lot. currently playing the game to dissect him for myself lol. hes got an interesting character that can get exploded fairly easily, though I feel like this applies to almost every character in existence, I know im not even in the top 100 most unwell about Yosuke Hanamura or even persona 4 but I really like it alot. I want to make an insanely self indulgent power point about Yosuke Hanamura to show to my friends lol. hes just really relatable to me especially me as a younger guy. and hell even now I find myself in him lol. its a bit cringe but I am free as they say. I do have a tendency to project on characters a bit so it might be a bit of that lol...but hes just really neat to me his whole deal is interesting.

I really like the Yosuke Hanamura/p4 protagonist ship which is yeah. I also just really enjoy their dynamic tbh. they have each others backs through thick and thin, like even not as a romantic thing tbh I just really enjoy them being goofy teens together this applies to all their friends btw. the thing with shipping is im pretty open to what ever as long as its fun and not like weird bad. I like weird good stuff (like crack pairings, or fun rare pairs). i also have a tendency to latch onto a pairing I think is neat, which yah. it's Yosuke/p4 protagonist for me njofwreg. its fun to explore that I think. uh thumbs up I guess I dont know how to explain myself 💀

My non-romantic OTP for this character

im a silly goober and I like seeing the entire investigation team interacting with each other, I like it when they get to hang out. like sure they end up being lil shits to each other sometimes but its not like actively malicious, its like play fighting to me...im still reading the manga and playing the games so im excited to see more interactions between everyone lol. I do like it when fanfics explore different dynamics between the gang it's fun. I feel like im talking in circles lmao. but I will say Yosuke and Chie fighting can be funny reminds me of my younger siblings mauling each other to death lol. Yosuke and Teddie are a goofy duo, rip Yosuke, he tends to be the butt of the joke. Yosuke and the portages relationship is always fun regardless of if its a ship or not lol...I wish I was bettering at remembering things im drawing a blank even though I had more to say dang it.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I dont know if I even really have an unpopular opinion about this guy? ill be honest most of my thoughts about him come out sounding like growling and barking bc words aren't real lol. I just think hes neat... i dont really talk to other people about him who are also into persona 4 that often, one person told me they call him "poor straight Yosuke" lmao. I dont know it's an unpopular opinion to read him through the lens of a closeted individual? I usually only hang out in a small space and do my own thing, with some other people's stuff I like because I think it makes sense...ourgh I'm kinda bad at this </3 writing things down in a cohesive manner...im sorry ya'll 💀

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

I would like to be gay with him when I am playing the game lol. like even just the option to do so. I do not trust Atlus with it tho lol...outside of that? I would like to see him as an older person and what hes been up to. where hes going. I wanna see his charater arc progress lol. I guess more Yosuke. same really goes for the cast, I just have a slight bigger soft spot for Yosuke.
