“Heey, girl! In celebration of your speedy recovery, I thought it was time to gather up our friends and hang out for old time’s sake. Meet us at Way Out Bar at 7PM this Saturday!”
It had been over an hour since you’d gotten Jenny’s message, and you were still riding the high of excitement it brought. You lay sprawled on your bed, the phone still open in your hand, the message burning bright on the screen like a warm little beacon of joy.
This would be your first time seeing all of them outside the sterile white walls of the hospital. No wires. No beeping monitors. No faint scent of antiseptic in the air. Just you, your friends, and a night that promised to feel like living again. The last time you saw them, you were weak, barely able to sit up straight. They’d come in shifts with flowers, chocolates, gossip, and laughter—but it never felt right. You were smiling through the pain. Numb with fatigue. And now?
Thanks to Dende's healing, you were whole again. And it was time to live.
Your closet doors were already flung open, and the bed behind you looked like a fashion tornado had ripped through it. Jumpers, jeans, crop tops, rompers, even that one weird sequin top Jenny got you as a gag gift—it was all strewn about in the chaos of indecision.
“A dress?” you muttered to yourself, holding one up in front of the mirror before shaking your head. “Too fancy. Too ‘wedding guest.’” You tossed it aside. “Romper. Yeah. Romper is fun. Playful. Breezy. Easy to pee in…”
You snorted to yourself and held two up side by side: one black with delicate gold thread running through it, and another with a warm burgundy floral print that hugged your curves just right.
And then, it hit you—an idea that completely derailed your train of thought.
What if Piccolo came with you?
Your hands slowly lowered, the rompers falling forgotten onto the bed as your arms crossed over your chest, the spark of curiosity giving way to a gentle flutter in your chest.
Would he go?
You could already imagine their reactions. Jenny would 100% scream. Amelia would probably drop her drink. Henry might start interrogating him like an overprotective big brother. Elias would be welcoming without judgment. Luka will be cautious around new people. But deep down, you wanted your friends to meet him—to see what you saw. You weren’t just dating someone… you were in love with someone utterly unique. Quiet, mysterious, incredibly powerful, and yet… gentle with you in a way few got to witness.
But then, doubt slipped in like a cold draft.
Piccolo wasn’t a social person. You knew that. You respected that. He barely spoke during your classes unless prompted, and even then it was usually concise, pointed advice that made your students straighten up like soldiers under a general’s command. He tolerated public settings. Barely. And even then, only because he wanted to support you.
What if he didn’t want to come? What if he thought this was too much?
You let out a soft groan, burying your face in your hands for a second before slapping your cheeks lightly and straightening up. “Alright. No more overthinking. Just ask him. What’s the worst that could happen? He says no? I can live with that.”
Even if his brand of ‘no’ was usually a vague, broody grunt followed by meditative silence.
Fueled by that little ember of determination, you padded barefoot down the stairs, the wood creaking slightly under your feet. You caught the faint sound of the wind rustling through the trees outside, mingling with the faint ticking of the clock in the hallway. As you turned the corner and entered the living room, your voice called out casually:
“Hey, Piccolo, I was wondering if—”
You froze.
There he was, sitting cross-legged in the center of the room. Turban and cape nowhere in sight. Eyes closed in a serene expression. And… shirtless.
Your words caught in your throat like a fishhook. Your eyes, despite your best intentions, shamelessly took in the details—the broad expanse of his chest, the sharp cut of his abdominal muscles, the intricate, dark-lined streaks running across his arms and lower abdomen. The pink, fleshy patches on his arms glowed subtly under the soft afternoon light bleeding through the windows, framed by those bold red edges that almost dared your eyes to keep tracing along them.
Goddamn, you thought, your heart pounding so hard it felt like it might punch a hole in your ribcage.
The thought of just running your hands down his muscles caused your heart to flutter. You swallowed thickly, blinking rapidly—and that’s when you felt it.
A warm trickle.
You slapped a hand to your face. Oh no.
Yep. Nosebleed. Of course your body would betray you at a time like this.
“Uhh, w-why are you shirtless??” you managed, your voice breaking slightly like you were a teenager catching her crush in the locker room.
Piccolo’s eyes opened slowly, calm and unbothered, and they immediately locked onto yours. There was the tiniest flicker of amusement there, almost hidden—like a single ripple on an otherwise still lake.
“You told me to give it to you,” he said plainly. “You noticed the stain and insisted on washing it.”
Oh. Right.
You did say that. He’d tried to argue, something about materializing a clean one instantly, but you’d been adamant. You said it was about principle, that he should let you take care of him in small ways like that.
And he’d let you. No further protest. Just that quiet, reluctant acceptance he always offered when he couldn’t argue with your heart.
Still, standing there with a tissue now clamped to your nose and your face hotter than the sun, all you could do was laugh awkwardly.
“Right. I, uh… forgot.”
Piccolo raised a brow slightly, still watching you with quiet curiosity. “You okay?”
“Yep. Totally. Fine. Just… overheating. From the heater.” You gestured vaguely to nothing. “Which is off. But still.”
He made a soft, skeptical sound in the back of his throat, but said nothing. His eyes lingered on you for a moment longer—serious, yet gentle.
You rubbed at the back of your neck awkwardly, but the fluttering in your chest hadn’t gone away.
“Anyway, uh… I was actually coming down to ask if you wanted to go somewhere. With me. On Saturday night.”
Piccolo blinked, his head tilting slightly, his antenna's swaying gently by the movement. “Where?”
You smiled, stepping a little closer, the butterflies multiplying. “It’s just a casual get-together. My friends and I are meeting at this bar we always go to. I thought… maybe you'd like to come? Meet them? I mean—you don't have to. I know crowds aren't really your thing, but—”
He didn’t answer right away. Just watched you. Thoughtful. Quiet.
And then, he spoke.
“…I’ll think about it.”
Which, in Piccolo-speak, was about as close to a “maybe” as you were going to get.
You beamed. “Okay. That’s fair.”
He nodded once, his expression unreadable—but there was a softness behind his eyes that didn’t go unnoticed.
And just like that, the thought of Saturday night got a whole lot more exciting.
Even if you’d need to keep a fresh tissue box nearby. Just in case.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘✧──────✧₊∘✧──────✧₊∘✧──────✧₊∘
It was finally Saturday.
The sky outside your window had just begun to soften into gold, the sun dipping low on the horizon like it, too, was getting dressed for a night out. The faint hum of life was beginning to pick up in the surrounding forest area of your home—crickets began to sing, the chirping of foxes emanated somewhere deep within the treeline. But all of that faded into background noise as you glanced at the clock:
6:01 PM.
Only one hour until you were meeting your friends at the Way Out Bar. You couldn’t sit still.
You were practically buzzing as you made the final touches to your look in the mirror mounted on the living room wall. The beige floral jumpsuit hugged your figure just right—cute but comfy—and your hair, twisted into a half-up braid, framed your face in a way that made you feel genuinely beautiful. Confident. Alive.
But the real surprise of the evening wasn’t your outfit or even the gathering itself.
It was the seven-foot-five Namekian standing behind you—who, for the first time since you’d known him, was visibly anxious.
You caught a glimpse of him in the mirror, his posture stiff, arms at his sides, and a furrow etched deep between his brows as he focused on the conjured outfit slowly materializing over his usual gi. The transformation was fascinating to watch—energy rippling over his body as purple fabric gave way to crisp white.
You turned to face him fully.
Gone was the worn, battle-weathered gi. In its place: a neatly pressed white button-down shirt, a dark blue tie perfectly knotted at his neck, slim-fitting purple slacks, and polished dress shoes that looked almost too clean—like he’d never worn a pair in his life. He stood in the center of your living room, adjusting the cuffs of his sleeves with all the grace of someone performing open-heart surgery.
Your lips curled into a smile, warm and amused.
“Piccolo,” you said gently, stepping closer, “relax. You don’t have to dress up to look presentable. Your regular attire is fine. Well, okay, maybe leave the weighted turban and cape at home—unless you plan on knocking over coat racks everywhere we go.”
He paused, slowly glancing at you, eyes narrowed in thought. “I want to make a good impression,” he said, voice low, almost hesitant. “These are people important to you. I should look… appropriate.”
There it was—that unexpected vulnerability that made your heart squeeze every time you saw it peek through his normally unshakable exterior. You could see it in the way his antennae twitched faintly, the way his fingers fidgeted with the hem of his shirt as though unsure whether to tuck or untuck it.
You softened. “Hey.” You moved to stand directly in front of him, tilting your head back to meet his eyes. “You look very appropriate, trust me. Although…”
You stepped closer, fingers lifting to the knot of his tie. “This?” You tugged it gently, sliding it loose from his collar and tossing it over your shoulder. “This is a little too formal. We’re going to a bar, not a business conference.”
He didn’t protest, just watched you with those intense dark eyes, unreadable except for the faintest hint of tension in his brow.
You reached for the top buttons of his shirt next, undoing two with a soft, confident smile. “There,” you murmured, “much better.” Your fingertips brushed his collarbone, and you felt the way he tensed slightly beneath your touch—subtle, but telling.
“You’ve got nothing to worry about,” you added, stepping back to admire the results. “Just roll your sleeves up to the elbows, and you’re golden.”
Piccolo didn’t respond right away. He just stood there, staring at you.
Not with his usual blank stoicism.
There was something in his expression now… quiet awe. The kind of gaze someone gives when they realize, all at once, that they’re standing in the presence of someone they deeply cherish. Someone who saw through all the layers of who they were and loved them not in spite of it, but because of it.
It nearly knocked the breath out of you.
Wordlessly, he began to roll his sleeves up, his movements slower now, more deliberate. He wasn’t just adjusting his look anymore—he was adjusting to the idea of being seen by the people in your life. Letting them glimpse a side of him he rarely, if ever, revealed.
A side that belonged only to you.
“You really think this is okay?” he asked, a rare thread of uncertainty woven into his voice.
You stepped closer again, smoothing your hands over the front of his shirt with a small smile. “More than okay,” you said, looking up into his eyes. “You look great. And… I’m really happy you’re doing this.”
His gaze lingered on yours, and for a moment, he just breathed. Then, finally, he nodded.
“…Alright,” he said. “Let’s go meet your friends.”
You nodded eagerly, practically bouncing on your heels as you spun on your toes, the fabric of your jumpsuit swishing gently with the motion. You made your way toward the kitchen, grabbing your black quilted purse from the counter and slipping the strap over your shoulder in one smooth movement. Your hand followed next to the set of car keys sitting beside a stack of unopened mail.
With a gleam in your eye, you turned back toward Piccolo, holding the keys aloft like a prized treasure. “Come on!”
You made your way over to him, your fingers intertwining with his large hand, the coolness of his skin a comforting contrast to the heat building in your palm. Without a second thought, you tugged him toward the front door, and he followed wordlessly, allowing himself to be led like a tall, silent shadow behind you. The warmth of your hand in his said more than any words could.
Once outside on the porch, the soft creaking of the steps beneath your feet echoed in the calm of early evening. The sun had dipped lower, casting golden slants of light across the front yard. Crickets hummed with life across the grass. You let go of Piccolo’s hand just long enough to jog down the steps and disappear beneath the porch with Piccolo following close behind. Under the porch was a makeshift garage, small judging by the looks of it but not too cramped either. You approached something large and mysterious that lay beneath a gray tarp.
Piccolo watched you, arms crossed, one brow lifting in curiosity as he tilted his head.
You grabbed the tarp with both hands, bracing your feet against the gravel beneath you, and with a grunt of effort, yanked it off in a dramatic flourish. The tarp fluttered down behind you in a heap, revealing the beauty beneath.
A red and black striped muscle car gleamed proudly in the late afternoon light—its polished surface glinting like it had just rolled off the showroom floor. Chrome accents caught the sunlight, and the tires looked freshly scrubbed. It looked powerful. Fast. Immaculate.
You practically glowed, a wide grin on your face as you pressed your palms against the smooth, warm surface of the hood, practically buzzing with excitement. “I haven’t driven this car in ages!”
Piccolo approached slowly, his sharp eyes studying the vehicle like it was a puzzle he hadn’t expected to see in your possession.
“This is yours?” he asked, blinking slowly as he raised a brow, clearly impressed but trying not to show it too much.
“Yep!” you said proudly, patting the hood. “Graduation gift from my adoptive mom. She surprised me with it right after the ceremony. Told me I deserved something bold.” You laughed softly at the memory. “I’ve kept it in pristine condition ever since—tuned it, cleaned it, waxed it. The works.”
A little nostalgic pride swelled in your chest as you turned back toward him, holding the keys between your fingers. “I’ll be driving us to Nicky Town tonight.”
Piccolo’s brow furrowed ever so slightly. “We could get there much faster if we just flew.”
You stopped mid-stride, your expression flattening as you stared at him. “Piccolo…”
He blinked at your unimpressed tone, a visible sweatdrop appearing at his temple ;as he tilted his head slightly in confusion. “What?”
You sighed, crossing your arms with a dramatic huff that was more amused than annoyed. “I love you,” you said, stepping toward him, “but you seriously know how to kill a vibe sometimes.”
That made him visibly flinch. His posture straightened, and his mouth opened as if to reply, but you lifted a hand before he could get a word out.
“Look, I get it. Flying is faster. More efficient. But I’m not a pro at it like you are, remember? I’ve only just gotten used to hovering without looking like I’m dangling from an invisible string.”
Piccolo exhaled softly through his nose, his eyes lowering a fraction as guilt quietly slipped into his features.
“And yes,” you added, your voice softening as you stepped closer, “I know you’ve carried me before—many times, actually. And I never minded it. In fact, I always felt safe when you did.” You offered a small, fond smile, your fingers brushing lightly against his forearm.
“But just for tonight… I wanna do something normal and least conspicuous. Something a little fun. Take the long way. Play some music. Roll the windows down. And most importantly, to have a good time.”
You looked up at him, eyes hopeful. “Please? Just tonight? If you hate it, we’ll fly next time.”
Piccolo stared at you for a long moment, his features unreadable—but his eyes softened, just a touch. Enough for you to know he heard you. Really heard you.
Then, finally, a small sigh escaped him. “Alright,” he said, his voice quiet but sure. “We’ll drive.”
A grin broke across your face as you turned back toward the car, unlocking it with a click and opening the driver’s side door with a triumphant swing.
“You’re gonna love it,” you called out over your shoulder as you slid into the seat. “This baby purrs.”
Piccolo looked at the car again, then at you, and for the briefest moment—before rounding the car to the passenger side—he allowed himself the faintest of smiles.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘✧──────✧₊∘✧──────✧₊∘✧──────✧₊∘
The city lights blurred past like streaks of stardust, reflections dancing across the windshield in vibrant golds and electric blues. The streets of Nicky Town were alive, but unusually tame tonight—no gridlock, no honking horns—just the soft hum of your muscle car purring under your fingertips as you guided it gracefully through the open roads.
The wind rushed in from the rolled-down windows, warm and fragrant with the scent of nearby food stalls. It danced through your hair, pushing loose strands around your face as you exhaled a small, contented sigh. The radio was playing something soft—low bass, gentle synths, a mellow tune that hummed beneath your skin.
You slowed to a gentle stop at a red light, a slow deep rumble of the engine idling while you waited. Fingers tapping in rhythm on the gear stick, a faint smile playing on your lips as your eyes wandered briefly to Piccolo in the passenger seat.
He looked peaceful, arms crossed over his chest, his eyes closed, the sharp lines of his jaw relaxed under the soft interior lights. There was a quiet serenity to him when he wasn’t sparring with you. His presence alone, even in silence, had a grounding effect on you.
That is, until a piercing, obnoxious whistle shattered the moment like glass hitting concrete.
“Hey sweetheart!”
Your smile instantly dropped. The shift in your mood was swift—brows flattening, your shoulders stiffening as your gaze flicked sharply to the left.
There, beside your door, sat a young man on a loud motorcycle, revving his engine like he was the star of some cheap action movie. His grin was wide, smug, and completely lacking in shame. His eyes—hidden behind tinted glasses—raked over you with a possessiveness that made your skin crawl.
Your face remained stone cold. “Didn’t your mother teach you any manners?”
He chuckled, hand on the throttle. “Aww, c’mon. Don’t be like that. Hop on, yeah? We’ll have ourselves a real good time.”
The nerve. Your brow twitched, irritation climbing your spine like a venomous insect. “No thanks.”
But he didn’t get the message.
Instead, he leaned in further—too close. His arm braced against the car’s frame, body language dripping with arrogance. “Don’t be like that, sweetheart. Someone like you—fine as hell—deserves someone who can really show her a good—”
Wham!
The crack of your fist meeting his face rang louder than the engine ever could. His head snapped back with a choked yelp, his motorcycle wobbling as he gripped his face in agony, blood already spilling between his fingers.
You sat there, your fist still warm from the contact, settling your hand calmly back on the steering wheel like nothing had happened.
“Would you look at that?” you said coolly, voice lined with venom and amusement. “Crying over a punch… from a girl.”
“You broke my nose!” he wailed, nasally and pathetic.
You gave him a scathing look. “You invaded my space. And when a woman says no, she means no. It's not an invitation to harass or pressure her. So why don’t you do us both a favor—” the light turned green. “—and go fuck yourself.”
Without another glance, your foot pressed against the gas and the car surged forward, tires gripping the road like claws. The roar of the engine was satisfying, almost therapeutic. You gripped the gear stick tightly, fingers stiff and white-knuckled from the adrenaline and anger still coursing through you.
“(Y/n),” Piccolo’s tone was low, measured, but laced with concern. “Are you alright?”
You blinked, the road ahead coming back into focus. His voice had always had this strange effect on you—like it could cut through even the worst storm in your chest. You sighed, jaw still tense. “Yeah… I just got pissed off. The audacity of that guy…”
Piccolo was quiet for a moment, arms unfolding slowly as he straightened in his seat. “Does this… happen often?”
You hesitated, biting your bottom lip as your heart gave a tight squeeze.
“…Not like before,” you admitted, your voice a little softer, a little bitter.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw him sit up straighter, more alert—his energy subtly shifting from stillness to sharp attention.
“(Y/n),” he said more firmly, eyes narrowing. “What do you mean by that?”
The seriousness in his tone made your hands tremble ever so slightly on the wheel. The streetlights overhead blurred as you entered the parking garage, darkness creeping over the car as you ascended to the upper levels. The interior lighting cast a glow on your face—revealing the way your jaw clenched, the tension in your brow.
You didn’t look at him.
“…Remember when I told you I was homeless? Before the dojo, before I built my home?” you murmured, voice tight. “Back then, stuff like that happened a lot. More than I like to admit.”
The tires thudded softly as you turned up to the third level.
“I was fourteen,” you continued, eyes locked on the parking space ahead. “Couldn’t fight, couldn’t run very fast, and sure as hell couldn’t afford to scream for help. Men—grown men—thought I was easy prey. I learned pretty quick that being polite only made them worse.”
The car eased into the parking space, and you shifted it into park with a small click. The engine purred for a moment longer before going quiet, leaving only the hum of city life in the distance and the soft hiss of your breath.
You rolled up the windows. Just in case.
Then, silence.
Piccolo didn’t speak right away. You felt his gaze on you like a weight pressing against your side, his body completely still. When he did speak, his voice was low. Careful.
“…Did they ever—” He stopped himself. The question caught in his throat, too heavy, too dark to finish. His hands clenched tightly, and a shudder moved through him—subtle but unmistakable.
You shook your head immediately.
“No. They never did.” You looked over at him then, your voice firmer than before. “I never let them.”
He exhaled slowly, some of the tension draining from his posture, but not all of it. His eyes were still dark with something dangerous—something protective.
“You should’ve never had to go through that,” he said. “Not then. Not now.”
You offered him a small, sad smile. “Yeah. But I survived.”
Piccolo’s gaze lingered on you, and then, in a surprisingly gentle motion, he reached out. His hand rested over yours where it gripped the gear stick—large, calloused, and warm. The contact made your breath hitch. His thumb brushed against your knuckles once, twice—slow, grounding.
“You’re not alone anymore,” he said. “You never will be again.”
And in the quiet warmth of the car, tucked away from the world in that shadowed parking garage, those words sank deep into your soul—firm and comforting like roots in the earth.
Eventually, you and Piccolo stepped out of the car and into the moonlight, the glow of the moon illuminating the city. The air was thick with the scents of street food, car exhaust, and pansies as the two of you ascended the spiral ramp of the multi-level parking garage. The sounds of city life greeted you—distant laughter, muffled music, and the steady hum of traffic below. With each step, your anticipation mounted like a heartbeat in your throat.
The two of you merged onto the bustling sidewalk, weaving past people walking in pairs, in groups, or alone with their heads down in their phones. You guided Piccolo with quiet ease, your hand gently looping through the crook of his forearm. The warmth of his exposed forearm brushed against your skin every time he adjusted his stride to match yours—something he did often now, unconsciously. His presence beside you felt solid, grounding, like you could lean your entire weight on him and he wouldn’t budge an inch.
You rounded the corner of a narrow brick antique store that smelled faintly of dust and sandalwood—and there it was.
The sign: The Way Out Bar. Elegant cursive letters spelled out the name in soft neon, glowing in the encroaching twilight. Something about seeing it made your heart flutter. It was just up ahead. Your friends were just beyond that door.
Your grip around Piccolo’s forearm tightened as you beamed, pulling him a little closer. You didn’t notice the way he glanced down at you then, his expression unreadable to anyone but you. There was fondness in his gaze, laced with quiet amusement, and a hint of nerves buried beneath his usual stoicism.
The inside of the bar was a soft contrast to the world outside. Warm, amber-hued lights hung in scattered clusters like little fireflies, casting gentle shadows that danced along the walls. A small jazz trio played on a raised stage to the left, their mellow notes wrapping the room in a cocoon of easy rhythm. The bar to the right buzzed with activity—glasses clinking, bartenders sliding drinks down the polished mahogany counter. The air was a blend of expensive perfume, whiskey, and warm food.
You scanned the crowd—faces blurred together until you spotted them.
Tucked in a corner booth, exactly where you hoped they’d be, sat your small, beloved chaos of a friend group. Jenny was deep in animated conversation with Henry and Elias, her faux locs bobbing every time she gestured dramatically. Elias, ever the picture of chill, leaned back with his usual amused smirk, while Henry animatedly waved a chicken wing mid-debate. Luka sat sandwiched between them, quietly listening, his arms folded and eyes sharp as ever. And then there was Amelia—red-haired, radiant Amelia—nursing the last sip of a martini, her attention elsewhere as her eyes scanned the room.
You gave Piccolo a quick look and an upward tilt of your chin—a silent follow me—before slipping through the small maze of tables and people. He followed closely, careful not to bump into anyone despite his size. His presence alone was enough to part the crowd a little, though he didn’t seem to notice the glances, the whispered curiosity.
Amelia spotted you first. Her face lit up like fireworks.
“(Y/n)!! Over here!!” she called out, waving her arm high above her head.
The rest of the table turned as you approached, just in time for Amelia to practically launch herself out of her seat. She flung her arms around you with an excited squeal, wrapping you in a warm, familiar hug.
“Oh my god, it’s so good to see you! We’ve all missed you so much.” Her voice trembled slightly, her arms squeezing tight. Her eyes shimmered when she pulled back, but she didn’t let a single tear fall.
You cupped her arms, giving a reassuring squeeze. “It’s good to see you too, Amelia. You have no idea.”
“Hey! What about us, huh?!” Henry hollered from the table, arms outstretched in dramatic protest. “The guys deserve a little love too, ya know?”
You rolled your eyes with a smirk. “Didn’t you tell me that hugging was for sissies?”
Henry tilted his head, faux locs bouncing as he scoffed. “Yeah, well—that was before you got fuckin’ shot, okay?”
With a laugh, you walked over and looped an arm around his neck, yanking him into a headlock before giving him a good, affectionate noogie.
“FUCKIN’—WHY?!”
He flailed helplessly, drawing laughter from the rest of the group as you released him, his hands flying up to shield his poor scalp.
“Because I can, you ass,” you said sweetly, folding your arms and towering over him in mock authority.
You turned to Elias and Luka next, offering them both a warm smile.
“It’s good to see you’re doing well, (Y/n),” Luka said, offering a rare but sincere smile.
“Glad you could join us,” Elias chimed in, brushing a strand of his maroon hair behind his ear. “Recovery treating you alright?”
“Definitely,” you replied with a nod. “I’m finally teaching again. The doctors really did their magic.”
You left out the real miracle—the moment Dende’s hand hovered over your chest, and that tiny, jagged piece of death was pulled from your heart. Some things you weren’t ready to explain.
“Hey, (Y/n)?” Jenny’s voice cut in, soft but direct.
You turned to her, eyebrows raised. “Yeah?”
She leaned in slightly, one elbow resting on the table, her other hand casually pointing to the side with a thumb. “So… who’s the big guy?”
Your gaze followed her gesture to Piccolo—who stood a few feet away from the booth, arms folded tightly, eyes lowered and expression carefully unreadable. He kept a respectable distance, but his alertness was palpable. Like a sentinel standing guard.
Despite his carefully conjured outfit—purple slacks, a tailored button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, showing off his green complexion as well as the pink patches in his arm—he stood out. Tall. Alien. Still. You could feel the weight of glances from nearby tables, the murmurs and curious stares prickling along your skin like static.
Hot anger bloomed in your chest. You wanted to shout Stop staring! You wanted to defend him, shield him—but you knew better. This wasn’t the time. Not tonight.
You inhaled, slow and steady. Let it go.
“Oh! Right!” You gave a small, sheepish laugh. “I totally forgot—”
You stepped over to him, placing your hand gently against his abdomen. He glanced down at your touch, then back at your friends, wordlessly awaiting your lead.
“Everyone, this is Piccolo.” You turned toward your friends again, smiling brightly. “Piccolo, these are my friends. This is Amelia—”
Amelia waved enthusiastically, her red hair swishing. “Hi! You’re taller than I imagined, and I imagined tall.”
“This is Jenny,” you continued.
Jenny nodded slowly, her gaze sharpening, evaluating him from head to toe. “Huh. Okay.”
“And these three are Henry, Luka, and Elias.”
Henry gave a casual wave. “Yo.” But his eyes were sharp, the wheels already turning behind them.
Luka didn’t say a word—just stared, jaw tense, brow furrowed. He didn’t like mysteries he couldn’t solve.
Elias, ever gracious, smiled brightly. “It’s always nice to welcome someone new.”
Then Jenny, voice cautious, turned her full attention back to you. “Sooo… is he, like, a friend? Or, what—an acquaintance of your master’s?”
You smiled, your hand tightening slightly on Piccolo’s shirt, feeling the subtle warmth beneath it. A blush crept up your cheeks, blooming fast.
“Actually,” you said softly, tilting your head up to meet Piccolo’s gaze.
His eyes met yours, gentle and unguarded. That alone made your friends fall silent. They weren’t used to seeing someone look at you like that.
“Piccolo isn’t a friend or an acquaintance of my master,” you said. “He’s… my boyfriend.”
The table went dead silent.
Jenny’s mouth fell open. Amelia’s hand flew up to cover her gasp. Henry’s drink paused halfway to his mouth. Elias blinked in disbelief, and Luka just… stared.
And then, without hesitation, Piccolo’s arms uncrossed and he reached out—resting a large, warm hand against your back, fingers pressing gently between your shoulder blades. Protective. Affectionate.
Amelia squealed, both hands covering over her mouth to muffle the sound.
Jenny stuttered, eyes wide, mouth working like her brain couldn’t form actual words.
“You… you…” she gasped, clutching the edge of the table with white-knuckled hands.
You looked up at Piccolo with a warning smile. “Brace yourself. Jenny’s gonna scream—”
“WHAAT?!” Jenny exploded, shooting up from her seat and slamming both hands onto the table. “YOU’VE BEEN HIDING THIS FROM ME THIS ENTIRE TIME?!”
You giggled, leaning subtly into Piccolo as his hand pulled you a little closer. “Hehehe… yeah. You might wanna sit down, Jenny. I’ve got a lot of explaining to do.”
You glanced at Amelia and gave her a playful nudge. “Mind scooting over? We’ve got a story to tell.”
Amelia quickly scooted over with a grin so wide it looked like it might split her face in two. She practically bounced in her seat, dragging you down beside her with eager hands while patting the empty spot next to you. “C'mon, big guy! No standing on the sidelines now.”
Piccolo hesitated, his eyes flicking from you to the seat, then to the curious faces watching him. For a heartbeat, he looked like he might decline—but then your fingers found his, a gentle squeeze of silent encouragement. With a sigh barely audible over the jazz music, he obliged, sitting down beside you. The booth creaked slightly beneath his weight, drawing a few chuckles from Henry and Elias.
“Damn,” Henry muttered with a smirk. “What’s he benching, like, a small building?”
You rolled your eyes but smiled. “Please don’t challenge him, Henry. He might actually show you.”
Piccolo shot you a side glance. “Wouldn’t be much of a challenge.”
Henry snorted, eyes lighting up at the dry humor. “Okay, I like him.”
Jenny, still trying to mentally reboot, leaned forward and jabbed her finger in your direction. “Start from the beginning. I want dates, times, how this happened. This is—this is massive! I mean, seriously?! How long have you been keeping him from us?!”
You laughed, running a hand through your hair being mindful not to disturb the half-up braid. “Okay, okay, I’ll explain. Just… don’t freak out.”
“I’m already freaking out!” she half-shouted, arms thrown up. “Do you know how long I’ve been trying to set you up with boring-ass grad students?”
“And do you see why that never worked?” you teased.
Jenny groaned into her hands while Amelia leaned in, eyes wide with wonder. “So… how did you two meet? Like, officially?”
You glanced at Piccolo again, silently asking if he was okay with you telling the story. He gave a small nod, his posture relaxing ever so slightly. His hand, which was resting on his lap, subtly shifted until his fingers brushed against yours under the table.
“Well…” you began, launching into the condensed version of everything—your training, how you first met him in the forest, how he became your security guard for your school, the injuries, the long hours of recovery, and how he’d been there. How he’d stayed.
In the midst of your storytelling, a waitress quietly approached the table, setting down a glass of water in front of both you and Piccolo without a word, then slipped away just as silently.
“Hold the fuck up.”
Jenny’s voice sliced through the lingering background chatter like a whipcrack. She froze mid-reach for her drink, arms folding with dramatic flair as she leaned forward over the table—nearly knocking her glass of wine clean off the edge. Amelia, seated just beside her, casually reached out and steadied it without looking.
“You’re telling me,” she continued, brows shooting into her hairline, “that you’ve known Piccolo—this giant green intergalactic muscle mountain—for three years?”
You nodded slowly, already bracing yourself. You even pre-wrinkled your nose in anticipation.
Jenny stared. Blinked. Then exploded.
“THREE. FUCKING. YEARS.”
She threw her hands into her faux locs with a dramatic groan, dragging them down her face like she was physically in pain. “I’ve been to your house! I’ve seen your couch! I’ve watched Netflix in your bathrobe while drunk off Moscato! How the hell did I never see this seven-foot tower of stoic green daddy energy lurking around?!”
You winced, a sheepish laugh tumbling out as you rubbed the back of your neck. A cartoonish little sweatdrop might as well have formed on your cheek.
“To be fair…” you started, shooting a glance at Piccolo—who sat still as a statue, but whose eyebrow had very slightly twitched at the phrase "daddy energy"—“Piccolo isn’t exactly the type to, uh, crash dinner parties or pop in for brunch.”
Jenny squinted at him suspiciously. “So what—you just kept him in your garden like some kind of secret boyfriend bonsai?”
“I’m not a plant,” Piccolo muttered dryly.
You stifled a snort, then turned your attention back to Jenny. “He’s… a recluse. He likes peace and quiet. Doesn’t really do the whole socializing thing unless he has to. And I respected that. Always did.”
Your voice softened as you looked up at Piccolo for a moment, the tiniest smile tugging at your lips. “So yeah… imagine my surprise when he actually said yes to coming here tonight. Voluntarily.”
Jenny’s jaw hung open. “You mean to tell me this introverted Namekian hermit just chose to step out of his weird meditation void and waltz into a bar full of strangers—for you?”
You gave a sheepish shrug. “Apparently, yeah.”
Jenny was quiet for all of three seconds. Then she pointed an accusing finger at Piccolo, wide-eyed and borderline scandalized. “Sir. You simp. And I say that with the highest respect.”
Piccolo, without missing a beat, took a slow sip of his drink. “I have no idea what that means.”
“Oh my god, I love him,” Jenny said, slumping back in her chair with a stunned laugh. “I’m gonna need to write this full timeline on a PowerPoint. Maybe a live reenactment too.”
Henry raised his glass. “I got dibs on playing Piccolo.”
“You’re not tall enough,” Amelia chirped.
“I’ll stand on a fucking chair!”
You snorted, shaking your head with a grin, disbelief written all over your face. “What—No. No one is reenacting anyone, got it? That’s weird as hell and kinda creepy.” You jabbed your index finger at Jenny and Henry, who were already giggling like a pair of kids who’d just gotten away with something. The finger-point was part warning, part exasperated big-sibling energy, but they clearly didn’t take it seriously.
As your laughter died down, you suddenly felt it—Piccolo’s hand shifting ever so slightly where it rested beneath the table, until it came to settle gently on your thigh. His fingers curled softly, giving you a deliberate, grounding squeeze. It wasn’t possessive. It was quiet, affirming. A silent thank you.
Your heart gave a small flutter, betraying how something so subtle could still shake you to your core.
But not everyone was laughing.
Luka had yet to speak. He sat leaned back in his chair, arms crossed tightly over his chest. His gaze, sharp and contemplative, flicked between you and Piccolo without saying a word. His brows were furrowed in that familiar way that meant his brain was working overtime, analyzing every little detail. You’d seen that expression before—when he was worried, when he was watching out for you.
He wasn’t being hostile. Luka didn’t do drama. But he was wary. And considering the kind of shit you all had been through over the years, it wasn’t surprising. Luka had learned to read people like open books, and he wasn’t the kind to trust someone just because you did.
Then finally, he spoke.
“Do you love her?”
The entire table fell silent. Drinks hovered halfway to mouths. Amelia’s eyebrows shot up. Jenny blinked. Henry stopped chewing. Elias couldn’t contain a smirk from forming.
Even the jazz music in the background felt like it dimmed a little.
Luka’s voice hadn’t been accusatory—just steady, calm, but dead serious. Like he was asking the question everyone else was too afraid to say out loud.
You turned your head slowly toward Piccolo, already feeling the change in his body language. The hand on your thigh had stilled, but there was a new tension there now—a readiness. You glanced up at him, and for a second, his expression was unreadable. A blank mask of calm. But then you saw it. The smallest crinkle at the corner of his eye. That subtle, almost imperceptible shift in his posture.
He wasn’t offended.
He was preparing to answer.
And you already knew what he was going to say.
Piccolo stared at Luka, held his gaze without flinching, not out of defiance but from a place of grounded clarity—like someone who understood the weight behind the question and wasn’t afraid to carry it.
Then, slowly, his head turned. His hand, still resting on your thigh, shifted again—his thumb moving in a gentle arc, rubbing slow, deliberate circles into your jumpsuit.
And he looked at you.
Really looked at you.
The rest of the world faded. The buzz of the bar, the muffled clatter of glasses and laughter, even your friends sitting just inches away—all of it fell into a soft hush.
“I do,” he said finally, voice low, gravelly but steady. “More than I thought I ever could.”
His eyes never left yours.
“You have no idea how many walls I built just to keep people out,” he continued, his voice quieter now, like he was letting you in on something sacred. “Then you came along. And… you didn’t try to tear them down. You waited. You saw me. All of me. And you never once asked me to change.”
You felt something rise in your chest—warm, fragile, powerful. Like something blooming wide and wild in your ribs.
“I love her,” Piccolo said again, this time turning his attention briefly to Luka, though his hand never left your thigh. “Not because she saved me. Not because she put up with me. But because she made me want to be known. And that’s not something I ever thought I’d say in a room like this.”
Luka stared at him for a beat longer. The tension in his jaw softened just slightly, his arms loosening from the tight fold across his chest. No words. Just a small, thoughtful nod—the kind that said: That’s enough.
You hadn’t realized you were holding your breath until you let it out.
Then Jenny broke the silence with a dramatic sniff. “Oh my god, I need a fuckin’ tissue. Who let this be a rom-com all of a sudden?!” She fumbled into her bag for a napkin while Henry, red in the face, reached to his right to swat her arm.
“Shut the hell up, Jen. I almost got misty-eyed and now you ruined it.”
Elias raised his glass. “To love making unexpected house calls.”
Amelia, already mid-sip, let out a delighted little squeal. “I knew it. You two are so disgustingly cute it should be illegal.”
You turned to Piccolo, heart thudding, cheeks warm. He raised an eyebrow slightly—his version of a soft smile—and leaned closer, his voice just for you.
“You okay?”
You nodded, smiling up at him, your hand moving to rest on top of his. “Better than okay.”
Amelia was already halfway through her second drink when she leaned across the table and grinned at you. “Okay, but seriously—how did you bag someone like him? Like, no offense, babe, but Piccolo looks like he could crush a tank with his pinky and then lecture it about self-discipline.”
Henry snorted into his drink. “For real. Man’s got the ‘I meditate in volcanoes’ energy.”
You were about to respond when Elias leaned back in his chair, one arm slung over the back like he was settling in for a show. That lazy, mischievous grin spread across his face like a goddamn wildfire.
“Oh, we’re going there?” he asked, raising a brow. “Because I have questions.”
You already felt your stomach drop. That was never a good sign.
“Elias,” you warned, narrowing your eyes. “Be normal.”
“Oh, I am. Totally normal.” He winked. “I just wanna know how anyone survives a make-out session with someone whose biceps are literally the size of my head. Like, what happens if he gets too into it? Do you end up in another zip code?”
You felt your entire face ignite like someone had lit a match behind your ears. “ELIAS.”
Jenny doubled over laughing. “Oh my god—ZIP CODE?!”
“I’m just saying!” Elias continued, shameless. “Man’s got that ‘destroyer of worlds, gentle lover’ vibe. I bet he’s the type who kisses you like he’s apologizing for every time he’s ever blown up a moon.”
Henry almost choked on his beer. “Brooo.”
Amelia wheezed, gripping Jenny’s arm as tears streamed down her cheeks. “Stop—STOP—my stomach can’t take this!”
Piccolo, bless his stoic soul, had been silently enduring the assault on his dignity. But you felt the moment his composure cracked—a twitch at the corner of his mouth, his grip tightening slightly on your thigh under the table. And when you risked a glance up at him…
He was blushing. His ears were blushing.
And you? Your face was molten lava.
“Elias,” you groaned, burying your burning face in your hands. “You can’t just say shit like that in public.”
Elias grinned, unapologetic. “Oh, come on. You know I’m right. Look at him. That’s not a boyfriend. That’s a six-foot-seven war god who probably calls you ‘beloved’ in the middle of a sparring match.”
You heard a low, amused rumble from beside you.
And when you turned your head, Piccolo—still blushing—leaned just slightly toward Elias with a dry, unamused stare.
“…You think I don’t know how to aim an energy blast?”
Elias paused.
Laughed nervously.
“I—uh—respectfully withdraw the question.”
Piccolo raised an eyebrow. “Smart.”
The whole table lost it.
You were still hiding your face in your hands, shoulders shaking from the kind of laughter that left your whole body buzzing. You peeked up at Piccolo, who looked straight ahead—composed again.
Jenny wiped tears from her eyes. “Jesus Christ, Elias. I swear, you live to traumatize people.”
“I live to educate people,” Elias shot back, raising his glass. “You’re welcome.”
“Yeah? Well next time, educate yourself on when to shut the hell up,” Henry deadpanned, reaching over to flick Elias in the forehead.
Piccolo leaned in slightly, just enough that only you could hear him. “I don’t know whether to be flattered or… concerned.”
You snorted, grinning like an idiot. “A little of both.”
After the chaos of Elias’s “zip code” comment started to die down—barely—you were still clinging to what little dignity you had left. Piccolo hadn’t moved his hand from your thigh, but you could feel the tension in his fingers, like he was bracing for whatever hell came next.
And he was right.
“So,” Jenny began, her voice laced with mischief as she leaned in, her elbows resting on the table and her chin perched atop steepled fingers. Her eyes sparkled like a gremlin with a matchbook. “Now that we’re done with introductions and listening to some good storytelling, there’s only one thing left to do.”
Piccolo blinked slowly. “…What.”
His voice was low, cautious—like a man who had just heard the first note of an incoming disaster siren.
Henry didn’t say a word, but the wicked curve of his grin spoke volumes as he sipped his drink and leaned back in his chair, content to let Jenny wreak whatever chaos she was planning.
“A good ol’ drinking game, of course!” Jenny announced, waving her hand dramatically like she was hosting a variety show. She flagged down a passing waitress without missing a beat. “Vodka. The big bottle, and seven shot glasses.”
You blinked. “Jenny—”
”Seven,” she repeated firmly, holding up her fingers like she was blessing the waitress with divine instruction.
The server didn’t even blink—just nodded and disappeared, probably used to this kind of behavior from your table by now.
You leaned toward Jenny, having to invade Amelia’s space but the red-head didn’t mind, your voice hushed but sharp. “Are you trying to get us all alcohol poisoning?”
Jenny shrugged, already buzzing with excitement. “Oh, please, you and your man have been drinking water this entire time. It’s time to spice things up a little. If we die, we die drunk and full of secrets.”
Before you could argue further, the waitress returned—like the harbinger of doom—with an ominously large bottle of vodka and seven perfectly clinking shot glasses balanced on a tray. She set them down with the efficiency of someone who wanted np part of what was about to transpire.
Jenny clapped once. “Excellent. The blood sacrifice has been made.”
You shifted in your seat, a pit forming in your stomach as you eyed the bottle. It glinted under the soft bar light like it knew it was about to ruin someone’s night. And probably someone’s life if they weren’t careful.
Jenny began filling the glasses like she was anointing each one with a cursed blessing. Then the smell of alcohol wafted up, sharp and unforgiving.
You gave her a deadpan look. “…I’m hesitant to even ask, but I’m asking anyway. What kind of drinking game are we playing?”
Jenny beamed. That shit-eating, chaos-fueled grin that could only mean trouble.
“Never Have I Ever, duh. Classic. Timeless. A sure fire way to emotionally scar each other with no survivors.”
Your soul left your body. “Fuck.”
Beside you, Piccolo raised an eyebrow, glancing down at you. His gaze softened with concern as he caught the tension rolling through your body. His hand hidden under the table had squeezed gently on your thigh. A silent question, a wordless tether: You okay?
You turned your head, meeting his gaze. The worry in your eyes must’ve been obvious because he tilted his head slightly, his antennae moving gently, his voice low enough only for you to hear.
“Is the game that terrible?”
There was something oddly innocent in the way he asked it. Curious. As if he didn’t fully understand what he was walking into but trusted you to guide him.
Before you could answer, Jenny managed to overhear what Piccolo said, cut in, far too delighted to explain.
“Oh, it’s amazing,” she said, spinning one of the shot glasses like a villain in a Bond movie. “Here’s how it works: someone says something they’ve never done. If you have done it, you take a shot. If not, you don’t drink. Simple right? But the real fun happens when the truth bombs start flying. Embarrassing stories. Secrets. Confessions. Shame. Regret. You name it.”
She paused dramatically, raising her full glass toward the center of the table. “It’s a beautifully messy human experience.”
Piccolo listened intently, nodding slowly, though his brow began to furrow.
And when Jenny delivered the part about “revealing embarrassing secrets,” you watched a rare sight unfold—Piccolo’s eyes widened. Just a little. Barely enough to notice if you didn’t know him. But you did.
He immediately tried to neutralize his expression, smoothing it back into unreadable calm.
Only to fail.
Miserably.
You stifled a laugh, squeezing his hand beneath the table.
He leaned close and whispered, barely audible. “This sounds… dangerous.”
”Oh, it is,” you replied with a dry grin. “But let’s just hope we don’t have to reveal anything too personal.”
Jenny raised her glass. “Let the games begin!”
Elias, of course, immediately belted out the first prompt with a wicked grin: “Never have I ever—kissed someone over six-foot-five and built like a Greek statue.”
You blinked once, then tilted your head with the most innocent smile you could muster. “Joke’s on you, Elias. Me and Piccolo haven’t even kissed yet. Unless you count, like… a kiss on the cheek.”
A record-scratch silence hit the table.
“WAIT—” Jenny practically shot out of her seat, hands slamming onto the table as her eyes bounced between you and Piccolo like she was watching a scandalous tennis match. “You two haven’t even kissed yet?! Are you serious?!”
You and Piccolo shared a look, like a secret radio frequency crackling to life between you—one that said here it comes.
As you both turned to face your very stunned friends, a cartoonish sweatdrop might as well have formed on the side of both your heads. The entire group was staring at you like you’d confessed to never having used the internet.
“Uhh… no?” you said slowly, your tone calm but defensive, like you were explaining quantum physics to a table full of gossip gremlins. “We’ve only been together for, what, three months? That’s not nothing, but still early days.”
Piccolo glanced down at you, and when your eyes met his, there was nothing but quiet warmth. His expression softened, and a small, barely-there smile curved his lips—like the sun peeking out behind a distant mountain range. He didn’t say anything, but he didn’t have to. The look said it all: he was okay with this. With you. With the pace of things.
You leaned into it slightly, speaking more to your friends now. “We’re taking things slow. I don’t mind the limited PDA. Eventually, yeah, we’ll get there. But not until we’re both comfortable. No pressure. No rush.”
Jenny looked like her entire worldview had been challenged. “That’s so wholesome I actually feel like I’m having an allergic reaction.”
Henry coughed, trying not to laugh. Amelia blinked rapidly like she’d just walked into an indie romance film.
Luka, of course, simply nodded in quiet approval like a dad who just watched his kid turn down a bad idea.
You turned your attention back to Elias, who was still stuck on the previous prompt. “So, sorry to disappoint you, Elias,” you teased, raising your glass with a playful smirk. “But your little trap? Kinda backfired.”
Elias let out an exaggerated groan, dragging his hands down his face dramatically. “Goddammit. I knew it was a risk. I knew it. I was hoping to catch you in a juicy moment but instead, I got feelings.”
He reached for his shot glass, filled to the brim with what now looked like the bitter taste of defeat. “Well, fuck it. I’m drinking anyway. Out of pure disappointment and maybe just a little spite.”
He downed it in one go, eyes squeezed shut as the vodka burned its way down.
“Hellfire,” he wheezed, placing the now-empty glass on the table with a careful thud. “Why is vodka always such a betrayal?”
“You brought that on yourself,” Amelia said, sipping her now third martini glass.
And Jenny, despite herself, grinned too. “Alright, alright,” she said, waving her hand. “I’ll allow it. It’s disgustingly sweet. But I’ll allow it.”
Before anyone could get too sentimental, Jenny clapped her hands together like an over-caffeinated game show host. “Alright, lovebirds, enough of the Nicholas Sparks shit—back to the chaos.”
She spun dramatically toward Henry, pointing a freshly-poured shot glass at him like she was accusing him of murder. “Henry, your turn. Impress us. Traumatize us. Give us something feral.”
Henry leaned back in his seat, one arm thrown over the back of the booth like he owned the place. “Aight, you want chaos?” He cracked his neck with a smug grin. “I am chaos.”
“Oh god,” Elias muttered, already reaching for his glass in defeat.
Henry rubbed his hands together, eyes gleaming with mischief. Then he leaned forward, grinning like the devil about to sign a soul contract.
“Never have I ever…” He paused for dramatic effect, eyes scanning the group. “…accidentally sexted my mom.”
“WHAT THE FUCK?!” You gasped, nearly knocking your shot glass over as you stared at him in abject horror.
Amelia choked on her spit and wheezed like a dying kettle.
“DUDE,” Jenny cried, laughing so hard she was crying, “THAT’S YOUR OWN PROMPT???”
Henry shrugged, shameless. “I never said it was a proud moment. But hey, I learned from it.”
Elias groaned. “That’s not learning. That’s becoming a cautionary tale.”
You shook your head in disbelief, a laugh escaping despite your horror. “Please tell me your mom doesn’t still have the screenshots.”
“She does,” Henry said flatly. “She brings it up every Thanksgiving. I get PTSD from cranberry sauce now.”
Piccolo, who had been trying to follow along with increasing confusion, leaned close to you and whispered with deep, solemn concern, “…What is sexting?”
You nearly spat your water back into the glass. Face now beet red, you turned slowly to him and whispered back, “I’ll explain later. Privately.”
He nodded gravely.
Jenny slammed her hand on the table. “Alright, fess up! Anyone gonna drink to that horrific confession?”
Elias raised his hand timidly. “I mean, not my mom, but my aunt once, so… same trauma, different packaging.”
“Oh my god, Elias.” Amelia buried her face in her hands.
Luka, miraculously, took a sip of his drink too, and the entire table turned to him in stunned silence.
“…Luka?” you asked, blinking.
He sighed, deadpan as ever. “It was a long time ago. Group chat mishap. I no longer text after 9PM.”
There was a beat of silence. Then you burst out laughing. Even Piccolo, confused as he was, gave a quiet chuckle—low and soft—but it was enough to make your heart flip.
Jenny’s jaw dropped. “Did… did he just laugh?!”
“I think he did,” you said, eyes wide.
Henry pointed accusingly. “Bro’s evolving. He’s learning the power of degeneracy.”
Piccolo shook his head, the corner of his mouth twitching upward. “No, I’m just trying to understand how any of you survived this long without spontaneously combusting from sheer embarrassment.”
Jenny snorted. “That’s fair. But the game’s not over yet! Who’s next?”
Amelia reached for her shot glass with a cool, almost suspicious calm.
“I think it’s my turn now,” she said, tucking a loose curl of red hair behind her ear. Her maroon eyes sparkled with something dangerous. “And I’m about to separate the saints from the sinners.”
“Oh shit,” Elias muttered, clutching his chest like he was about to be read for filth.
Amelia smirked. She leaned back in her seat, crossing her legs like a movie villain about to deliver the final blow. “Never have I ever… taken a pole dancing class.”
The entire table went still.
Your brain short-circuited.
Your hand moved on instinct—like a damn traitor—and you took a sip from your drink before you could stop yourself.
Silence.
Then—
“EXCUSE ME?!” Jenny screamed, nearly flipping the table as her eyes bulged out of her skull.
Henry choked on his drink. “YO WHAT?!”
Elias dropped his shot glass. “That’s the hottest thing I’ve ever heard—WHY DIDN’T I KNOW THIS?!”
Luka just blinked slowly, eyebrows raised. “…Huh.”
All eyes were on you now as you froze mid-sip, your face glowing red like someone had switched on a heat lamp directly over your soul. You set your glass down very carefully, refusing to meet anyone’s gaze.
“I—okay, listen.” You cleared your throat, flustered beyond belief. “This was before I even became an instructor. I wasn’t trying to be sexy or whatever—it was just a class I took on a whim.”
Jenny looked personally betrayed. “A whim?! A whim?! Girl, pole dancing is a lifestyle. You gotta commit!”
Henry slammed his palms on the table. “I need to know: was it one of those classes with heels and music or like… a fitness thing?”
“I’m not answering that,” you said, covering your face with both hands. “Some of us are trying to hold on to our last thread of dignity.”
Elias leaned in, completely ignoring that request. “You still remember the moves though, right? Just for research purposes. Scientific curiosity.”
“ELIAS,” you hissed, kicking him lightly under the table.
While the chaos unfolded, Piccolo looked utterly baffled. He turned to you, blinking slowly.
“…What is pole dancing?”
Your soul left your body.
Jenny leaned across the table, grinning like a gremlin granted its one malicious wish. “Oh, Piccolo, my sweet green man. It’s like… interpretive dance but vertical. In heels. Sometimes upside-down. Often involves dollar bills.”
Piccolo’s face went completely still, but you swore you saw the tips of his ears—and, if you could believe it—his antennas turned a shade darker. His eyes widened slightly as he turned to you again.
“You did… that?”
You let out a strangled groan. “ONE class! And it was a fitness class, thank you very much!”
“But did you enjoy it?” Luka asked innocently, his tone deceptively neutral.
You threw a napkin at him. “That’s not the point!”
Piccolo cleared his throat, looking forward with the most rigid posture you’d seen all night. “I… I suppose it’s a form of strength training?”
You sighed. “Yes. Thank you.”
“…But also dancing. On a pole.” he added, still clearly trying to compute it.
“Piccolo,” you groaned, burying your face in your hands again. “Please stop.”
Amelia raised her shot glass with a grin, clinking it gently against yours. “No judgment here. I’m just glad someone finally drank to one of mine.”
Jenny cackled like a madwoman. “This night keeps getting better. I swear, if someone admits to joining a cult next, I’m gonna die happy.”
Henry raised a hand. “Do MLMs count?”
Everyone groaned.
Piccolo, still stunned, quietly muttered under his breath, “I’m going to need to meditate for a week after this night.”
You rubbed your fingers in a slow circular motion against your temple, staring down at the table, your face still red as you whispered. “I think… I might join you on that offer.”
Jenny was riding high on the drama of the pole-dancing revelation, spinning her empty shot glass between her fingers like a villain monologuing in the third act.
“All right,” she said, cracking her neck like she was about to commit a felony. “Time to stir the pot again.”
“Oh no,” Henry mumbled.
“Oh yes,” Jenny grinned. “Never have I ever… tried to kill my friend as a joke.”
“Jesus Christ, Jenny,” Amelia groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose.
Elias let out a bark of laughter. “What kind of Looney Tunes-ass prompt is that?!”
Luka rolled his eyes but reached for his drink anyway, muttering something about “That one time with the bear trap.”
But then—Piccolo took a sip.
Everyone froze.
The table collectively snapped their heads toward him so fast it was a miracle no one sprained anything.
Piccolo sat still, jaw slightly clenched, his body tense in a way you hadn’t seen all night. The subtle squeeze of his hand on your thigh was the only giveaway that he wasn’t just casually sipping out of misunderstanding.
You didn’t react—you already knew. He’d told you those stories, the ones from long before he ever imagined himself sitting at a bar surrounded by chaos gremlins playing drinking games. You knew his past, and how much he’d changed.
But your friends? They were losing it.
Jenny blinked. “Wait. Wait. You—YOU?! You took a drink?!”
Henry leaned forward, eyes wide. “Holy shit, was that real? That wasn’t, like… metaphorical?”
Amelia’s eyebrows shot up, and even Elias had gone quiet for once.
Piccolo let out a slow exhale and looked down at the table, his shot glass spinning slightly in his hand.
“It… wasn’t a joke,” he said after a long moment, voice low. “And it wasn’t a game.”
Luka tilted his head. “But you did try to kill a friend?”
Piccolo nodded slowly. “A long time ago. Before I changed.”
Elias, ever the tactless menace, raised both hands. “Bro, that’s metal as fuck. Who was it? Are they okay? Did they… like, get better?”
You shot Elias a look. “Elias.”
Piccolo, to his credit, didn’t flinch. He just pressed his lips together, still avoiding everyone’s gaze. “Let’s just say… there was a time I wanted power more than anything else. And there was someone who stood in my way. He became a rival. An enemy. But… also a friend.”
The table went dead silent.
“And now?” Amelia asked, her voice quieter, more curious than judgmental.
Piccolo finally looked up. “Now, he’s one of the few people I trust.”
Jenny blinked a few times, slowly lowering her drink. “Well shit. That got real.”
Henry coughed into his fist. “Can we go back to pole dancing?”
Elias raised his shot glass like he was toasting to Piccolo’s character arc. “To redemption arcs and not murdering your friends!”
Piccolo snorted softly, the tension in his shoulders finally beginning to melt as he glanced sideways at you. “This game is ridiculous.”
You nudged him gently with your elbow, smiling. “Told you.”
“Still,” Jenny said, pouring another shot, “that was the wildest round yet. Top tier. Ten outta ten. Can’t wait to traumatize the next person.”
Piccolo gave you a side glance, then leaned in just close enough for you to hear him over the noise.
“…Are there more games like this?”
You smiled around the rim of your shot glass, the alcohol warming your throat as you took a slow sip. “Oh, sweetie,” you said, tone light and teasing, “we haven’t even gotten to Truth or Dare: Unhinged Edition yet.”
There was a twinkle in your eye, but you tilted your head, glancing toward your friends—Henry in particular, whose cheeks were beginning to turn bright red, eyes glassy with the unmistakable sheen of a man about to go past tipsy. Amelia was slouched over the table, hiccuping through a giggle, while Jenny was mumbling something about shot glass pyramids.
“I don’t think we’ll get the chance to play it tonight,” you murmured with a knowing grin, setting your glass down. “At this rate, we’ll all be wasted before the vodka’s halfway gone.”
You didn’t notice the way Piccolo’s posture stiffened slightly beside you, how his eyes widened—just a fraction. But the damage was done.
That single word—sweetie—lodged itself in his chest like a live wire. His expression didn’t change dramatically, but the softest, most unmistakable purple tint bloomed across his cheeks. His fingers twitched ever so slightly against your leg. A warmth he hadn’t anticipated spread low in his abdomen, an unfamiliar mix of affection and longing stirring in a quiet, dizzying swirl.
You still weren’t looking at him.
Which, somehow, made it worse.
He glanced down, lips pressed into a thin line, as though trying to smother the involuntary smile threatening to betray him. His gaze flicked back to you once more—so at ease, so effortlessly disarming—and that strange, fluttering heat pulsed again.
He would never admit it out loud, not yet, but that one little word had knocked the wind clean out of him.

The energy in the venue was electric, the crowd buzzing with excitement as Y/N took the stage in Los Angeles. The show had been sold out for weeks, and tonight, the entire Outer Banks cast was there to support her. Drew, Austin, Rudy, Madison, Madelyn, Chase, Carlacia, and JD had flown in together, ready to cheer her on from the VIP section.
Drew stood front and center, arms crossed with a proud smile as Y/N effortlessly commanded the stage. Every time she glanced their way, her eyes lingered on him a little longer, and he felt it—the quiet, unspoken connection between them.
When she performed “Please Please Please,” she put extra emotion into the lyrics, her voice laced with raw vulnerability. Madison nudged Drew playfully. “That one’s definitely about you.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Drew muttered, shaking his head but smiling anyway.
Next came “So High School,” and Rudy and JD had their arms around each other, swaying dramatically. “This one’s a banger,” JD declared.
Drew, meanwhile, just watched her—his girl, glowing under the stage lights, singing her heart out.
Then, “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince” started, and Y/N gave a knowing look toward where they stood. Chase whistled. “Dude, she’s making all of us look bad.”
But it was when she got to “Karma” that Drew felt his heart nearly stop.
“Karma is the guy on your TV screen,” Y/N sang with a playful smirk, her eyes locked on his. The entire cast erupted into cheers, shoving Drew like a bunch of rowdy teenagers.
“That’s you, bro!” Austin hollered, laughing.
Madelyn had her phone out, recording Drew’s reaction, which was a mix of pure joy and a little bit of flustered embarrassment.
The second the lights dimmed and Y/N took her final bow, she barely had time to process the roaring applause before she was stepping offstage—right into Drew’s arms.
Without hesitation, he scooped her up and twirled her around, holding her tight as she laughed, breathless from the performance. The world around them faded as she clung to him, her arms wrapped around his shoulders.
“You were unreal,” Drew murmured against her temple, voice filled with pride.
Y/N pulled back just enough to look at him, her cheeks flushed from the adrenaline. “You think so?”
Instead of answering, Drew leaned in, capturing her lips in a deep, lingering kiss. The crowd beyond the stage was still screaming, but at that moment, it was just the two of them.
Unbeknownst to them, dozens of fans had their phones out, catching the entire interaction—Y/N rushing offstage, Drew spinning her around like a scene straight out of a movie, their kiss sealing the moment. Within minutes, the videos were flooding Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram. “Drew Starkey being Y/N’s biggest fan? I’m SOBBING.” “The way he twirled her around like she’s the love of his life—oh, I’m not surviving this.”
Blissfully unaware of their viral moment, Drew laced his fingers with Y/N’s and led her backstage, where the rest of the Outer Banks cast was waiting.
“THERE SHE IS!” Rudy shouted, dramatically bowing. “The queen of the night!”
Austin pulled her into a hug while JD clutched his chest. “I think I cried at least twice.”
“You were incredible,” Carlacia said, squeezing her hand.
Madelyn and Madison grinned as they pulled Y/N into a group hug. “And don’t think we didn’t see that moment with Drew,” Madison teased.
Y/N just smiled, sneaking a glance at Drew, who was already looking at her like she was his entire world. If she hadn’t been on cloud nine from the performance, she definitely was now.
“You absolutely killed it,” Madelyn said.
“Best show I’ve been to,” Chase added.
“You’re kind of a rockstar, you know that?” Austin teased, ruffling her hair.
Y/N looked at all of them, then back at Drew, who was still holding her hand, his thumb rubbing soothing circles against her skin. The warmth of her friends surrounded her, the energy of the night still buzzing in her veins.
“Yeah,” she said, eyes locked on Drew. “I think I kinda am.”

you're here, baby / lee heeseung

where you surprise visit your long-distance boyfriend after their tour finally ended genre long distance au, established relationship, fluff

Heeseung settled onto the couch, his phone propped up on the armrest as he waited for your call. It was your usual routine—after his long, exhausting days of practice or after he’d spent hours in the studio, you would sync up over video calls, watching movies together as a way to stay connected despite the distance between you. It had become the highlight of his nights, and while nothing could replace having you right there with him, those virtual movie dates made the separation feel a little less painful.
His phone buzzed, and your face appeared on the screen. He grinned immediately, all the exhaustion he’d been feeling melting away the moment he saw you. You were still as beautiful as ever, and even through the screen, you always had a way of making him feel at ease.
"Hey, babe. What movie are we watching tonight?" he asked, trying to seem casual, though he was always giddy just to see you.
"Actually, before we start..." you said, your voice taking on that playful tone that always made him curious. Heeseung raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
“What is it this time?” He laughed softly, already used to your random little requests. You were always full of surprises, sending him gifts or packages to make him smile on the days you couldn’t be there.
"Can you do me a favor?" you asked, your smile widening as you watched his expression shift into slight confusion.
"Another package, huh? You’re spoiling me too much,” Heeseung joked, sitting up a little straighter. "What is it this time? More snacks? A hoodie?"
You giggled, biting your lip to contain the excitement bubbling inside you. "Just... step outside your house for a minute. Trust me, okay?"
"Outside? Babe, it’s late, and I was just getting comfortable," he said, pouting slightly, but he still got up from the couch. He couldn’t say no to you, even if it was something as odd as stepping outside in the middle of the night.
As he slipped on his shoes by the door, he still couldn’t shake the curiosity. “Alright, alright. I’m going, but this better be good.”
Heeseung opened the door and stepped out onto the porch, glancing around in the dim glow of the streetlights. The night air was cool, and the streets were quiet, save for the distant hum of passing cars. He scanned the area, searching for whatever surprise you had in store for him. “Okay, I’m here. Now where’s this package?”
"Are you sure you’re looking in the right place?" your voice teased through the phone, barely holding back your excitement. You knew he’d catch on any second now.
Heeseung laughed, his brow furrowed as he looked around again, but nothing was out of place. “Yeah, I’m looking. Did you hide it or something? Come on, give me a hint.”
Then, you dropped the surprise. "You wanna leave your lover outside?"
Heeseung froze, your words making his heart skip a beat. He turned slowly, his eyes landing on a figure approaching the house from the street. His breath caught in his throat, disbelief clouding his mind as he saw you, standing there in person, walking up the driveway toward him.
"No way," he breathed, the shock rendering him momentarily speechless. His phone nearly slipped from his hands as he fumbled to shove it into his pocket. In an instant, he dashed toward you, closing the distance between you in seconds.
You grinned as you saw him sprinting toward you, your own heart racing as you finally reached him. Before you could say anything, Heeseung enveloped you in his arms, lifting you off the ground in a tight embrace. His laughter filled the air, the joy and disbelief evident in the way he held you close.
“You’re here,” he gasped, his voice filled with pure elation as he pulled back slightly to look at your face, his hands cradling your cheeks like he needed to make sure you were real. "You’re actually here... How? When did you—"
You laughed softly, still catching your breath from the excitement. "Surprise, Hee."
Heeseung let out a breathy laugh, hugging you again, spinning you around slightly as if to convince himself that this moment was real. The feel of your warmth against him, the familiar scent of your perfume—it was all too good to be true.
"I can’t believe you’re here," he murmured, his face buried in the crook of your neck. "I missed you so much."
“I missed you too,” you whispered back, wrapping your arms around his neck and holding him just as tightly. "I couldn’t wait any longer. I had to come see you."
After what felt like forever in his arms, you finally nudged him gently. "Come on, let’s go inside. It’s cold out here."
Heeseung nodded, still holding onto your hand as he led you back inside the house, his heart still racing from the excitement. As you walked in, you kicked off your shoes and shrugged off your jacket, making yourself comfortable like you’d done a million times before. It felt like home, being there with him.
But Heeseung stayed by the door, his back leaning against the frame as he watched you move around the house, his eyes filled with wonder. You were really there, in front of him, not just on a screen. It felt surreal.
Noticing him standing there, you turned around and gave him a curious look. "What’s wrong?"
Heeseung didn’t respond right away. Instead, he slowly made his way over to you, his footsteps quiet as he approached. When he reached you, he stopped just a few inches away, his hands gently resting on your arms as he stared at you, his expression soft and filled with love.
“You’re really here,” he whispered, his voice quiet and full of emotion. "You’re actually here, baby."
You smiled, brushing a strand of hair out of his eyes. "I’m here. It’s real."
Heeseung leaned his forehead against yours, closing his eyes for a moment as he took a deep breath. “I can’t believe it,” he said softly. "I missed you so much. Seeing you through a screen wasn’t enough... I needed this. I needed you."
You wrapped your arms around him, pulling him closer. "Well, I’m not going anywhere for a while. I’m all yours."
Heeseung let out a quiet laugh, his lips brushing against your forehead as he held you close. "Good. Because I’m never letting you go again."
The weight of the past months, the long nights of missing each other, melted away in that moment. It didn’t matter how far apart you’d been—right now, you were together, and that was all that mattered.

Today was a big day, a massive day, god one might even say the most special day of Vee's career. Today she FINALLY was having a dinosaur themed trivia and Shelly was one of the contestants, and Vee was vibrating from joy at the idea of Shelly being on stage, getting some much deserved attention. She knew she was going to kill the competition too, she had her prize picked out and everything. She was so excited, and her handler seemed to notice as she soon gently grabbed Vee's shoulder.
"Easy there Vee, you're starting to shake again. Are you over heating, dear?" Veronica softly asked, and Vee just shook her head, giving her handler a hug to reassure her.
"I'm just excited, thank you for checking on me though~" Vee replied sweetly, getting a chuckle and nod in reply from the human as she hugged the very hyper robot back. She could tell Vee was telling the truth, she only talked in such a tone when she was excited about something, so she didn't push her anymore on the topic and simply let her go.
"Alright, we gotta go make sure the set's ready for the special, I'm sure you can get in your outfit by yourself. Just... Please be careful, okay? I know you don't mean to be clumsy, but I'm really concerned you'll fall and break something before we air again, so be careful for me please." Veronica gently told her, then she gave her another quick hug, said a soft "love ya hun" before she let go and rushed off to handle her responsibilities, and Vee just waved her off before she scratched her head. Clumsy? She was clumsy? Last she checked her stabilizers were in working order, she doesn't trip on her microphone as much as she used to either, how was she clumsy? Deciding against questioning it, she just walked to her backstage room to get ready for the show, though was pleasantly surprised to find Shelly was already there waiting for her. She just waved to her as she walked past, getting a smile and wave in return, before she... Promptly ran right into the wall. Okay, maybe she was clumsy after all.
"VEE OH MY GOODNESS-"
"I'm fine. It happens." Vee quickly reassured as she stumbled a little, but didn't fall, thankfully. She felt her screen a little, then sighed, being relieved there were no cracks in it. She then turned to Shelly and gave her a thumbs up, ignoring her very obviously concerned face in hopes she'd not think too hard about that. Shelly just forced a smile and thumbs up in reply, so Vee quickly went to her dressing room and closed the door as quickly and quietly as she could, blushing darkly from pure embarrassment. She really really has to stop staring at her... Especially if she's going to be on stage and obviously notice that she's being stared at. Vee sank down against the door and covered her screen with her hands, wishing she was invisible right now, wishing she didn't just embarrass herself in front of Shelly of all toons like that. She had to get herself together... She can't be distracted like that. Vee took a deep breath before she looked over at the comfortable dinosaur onesie they wanted her to wear, figuring that maybe wearing something comfortable that also matches Shelly would help her calm down. Besides, they all were going to wear one, and the thought of Dandy in one was kind of funny. She had no idea if he was a contestant or not today, but just the thought of him being forced into one made her giggle a little regardless. So with the power of seeing Dandy embarrassed in mind, she slowly got back up and grabbed the soft, dark green and light green dinosaur onesie and slowly slipped it on, then looked in the mirror. She looked like she was wearing Shelly's pajamas, but green instead of red, and triceratops themed. She kind of liked it... She pulled up the hood and was immediately humored by how it actually fit, and how absolutely stupid it looked. No, no hood, that's too dumb. She immediately flicked it off and sighed, then turned and flicked off the lights, opened the door and quietly left. Vee never bothered to close the door behind her, or usually close it when she was in there as she usually didn't have costumes for her shows, but she really didn't want anyone to know she was being stupid. Especially not after she was warned to not be clumsy... She took a deep breath as she confidently walked to her backstage room, figuring if she pretended she was totally fine, she wouldn't be questioned. Thankfully she wasn't, as the normal crew that tested everything just came over and made sure she was in full working order before she was ushered out to her usual spot on the stage. Being used to this, she just mostly ignored them and strutted her way to her spot, doing a quick mic test herself to make sure her tail was connected to the system before she looked over at her contestants. She didn't even register who the two other toons were, she just immediately was staring at Shelly. Shelly was just sitting there, looking adorable as she looked around, admiring the view around her. She had on slight makeup to match her onesie, along with some dinosaur shaped bandages here and there on her face, which hid any cracks in her shell from the audience. Vee must've been staring for a good minute as she was snapped out of it by Veronica turning her head away forcefully.
"The cameras Vee, look at the cameras, not your beautiful girlfriend." She reminded her quietly before rushing off stage again, making Vee blush darkly, but before she could snap back to say that Shelly wasn't her girlfriend, they called for her attention again. She instead sighed and rolled her eyes, though she couldn't help but look back over when she heard Shelly giggling. She had obviously found the comment about her to be quite charming, she probably didn't get called beautiful as often as she should be, it kind of broke Vee's heart to realize that. She just shook her head a little and grinned like an idiot at her before looking back at the camera, though she soon realized she had absolutely no idea who the other two contestants were and had to look back at them, getting a very obvious groan from one of the producers. Vee just ignored it though as she looked at Bright, who's onesie theme wasn't very visible from her spot, then at Shelly, then at Sprout, who was very not enjoying the fact he was forced into a strawberry themed stegosaurus onesie. Vee couldn't help but look incredibly impressed by it, especially since the spines were leaves. She really had to talk to the costume maker about it, that was so good, that would get so many views alone. Vee looked back at the camera before giving a thumbs up, getting a heavy sigh from one of the producers yet again.
"Vee, can we please start just recording this thing instead of getting footage of you staring?" He asked defeatedly, getting a confused look from her. They didn't give her the queue, she didn't know. Or did they? Did they do it while she was making sure she had everyone?
"Maybe give her a verbal queue, I might be making it a bit harder for her to see, I am a lamp after all." Bright spoke up, making Shelly nod in agreement.
"Lights absolutely overload her sensors, we could just make a dinosaur noise when we're good instead of hoping she notices! Right?!" Shelly said excitedly, though she immediately looked bummed when she was met with just death glares. She wasn't helping, as much as she was trying to. Vee however just sighed and held herself back from ripping them apart for ruining her mood, and instead forced a smile.
"Girls girls, its okay, I just am a little distracted today, don't worry about it. Let's take it from the top, kay? I'll do my usual introduction and then you introduce yourselves for me, then we'll get to the trivia and everything will be fine. However if any of you make Shelly cry, I don't know how long you'll be working here, so keep it civil, got it?" Vee suggested with a shit eating grin, and when they agreed because they wanted to keep their jobs, Vee just nodded once in approval. They restarted the recording and everything was going great, and much to nobody's surprise Shelly was getting every single one right whenever she could. Vee couldn't help but beam with pride at her, she knew she could do it! Though during one of the last questions, Vee was going to a different spot on stage to be at a better angle for the cameras when she caught herself staring at Shelly's face again, studying her wide smile with her sharp teeth, her shine in her eyes as she was going to absolutely win this gameshow, the way her tail wagged from pure bliss and excitement. She didn't realize she was close to the edge of the stage and so lost in thought she didn't hear anyone calling for her until it was too late, she had lost her balance and she tumbled right off.
Everything was black almost immediately.
Everything hurt.
When she finally came to again, she couldn't help but groan from the pain she was in, though she didn't even try to move as she felt two gentle hands on either side of her screen, giving her gentle scritches as what she assumed were the nearby medics checked everything else out. She knew it had to be Shelly that was down there with her, who's lap her head was resting on, simply because she was the only toon in Gardenview that knew about her guilty pleasure... Face scritches. It only was bad because it would ruin the paint on the sides of her monitor, but that was the least of her worries right now.
"She'll be fine, let her just rest for a few more minutes, there's nothing broken that I could tell."
"Okay, thank you, are you sure they're not mad at me for distracting her so much?"
"Oh heavens no Shellers, you're totally fine. Vee just really likes you, it happens, just, usually not this often. We gotta talk to her about that, huh?"
Vee internally groaned when she realized that wasn't a medic... That was her handler. And now she's embarrassing her in front of Shelly... Great, just great. Shelly however didn't seem to really think about it as she just kept giving her gentle scritches, one hand moving to the top of her head while the other stayed against her right side. Vee lowered her antennae at how soothing it felt, which got Shelly giggling.
"I'll do that on my own... For now, you should go make sure the set's clear, so we can rerecord the last few questions. I'll get her up once she's ready." Shelly replied, then she heard Veronica walk off, so she opened her eyes and looked up at Shelly, who was just looking back at her with a loving smile and concern in her eyes. They didn't say anything, they didn't need to, they knew what the other was thinking about. They knew they wanted to stay like this for a while, to just peacefully stare into each other's eyes, but Vee knew better so she gently stopped Shelly before she slowly sat up.
"Yeah I'm good, sorry everyone." Vee simply stated as she stood up fully, then she gently helped Shelly back up, though the two immediately hugged each other before they even thought about going back on stage again. They whispered quiet "I love you"s to each other, then gave each other a squeeze to remind the other that they're right there for each other, then they moved away.
"Let's get you that winning question answered, right?" Vee asked, and when Shelly excitedly nodded, Vee just laughed as she lead her back onto the stage. As expected, Shelly did win the gameshow, earning herself a golden trophy with a Gallimimus statue on the top, and of course a kiss on the head from Vee. Shelly was in near tears when she won, but she just proudly showed the camera that was a tad too close for comfort the trophy before she put it down on the table it had rested on the entire gameshow before she hugged Vee tight. Vee just hugged her right back, not at all caring if they caught them on camera, she just wanted to give her beautiful girlfriend the love she deserves.
"I knew you'd win, you're the toon that knows everything about dinosaurs. How was it?" Vee asked once she knew they had stopped rolling, and Shelly just looked up at her with the sweetest little smile.
"It felt great just knowing you were having so much fun, Vee. I'm happy we got to do this." She replied, getting a soft smile and a gentle squeeze in reply.
"I'm happy we did too Shelly... I'm happy we did too." Vee replied softly, though the two were soon startled by a third person joining the hug. Vee was going to snap, but it was just Bright, who had on an adorable magenta troodon inspired onesie. Vee was impressed, then she realized that Shelly probably helped with the costume ideas and was rather impressed by Shelly's tastes than anything else. She's good with her dinosaurs...
"That was great guys, thanks for having me on! I gotta go organize the library now though, cya both later!" Bright cheerfully said before she left the hug and walked away. Sprout had left as soon as he could, he didn't HATE the show he just felt stupid in the costume, so Vee and Shelly were now the only two left.
"Let's go find a place for your trophy in the museum, I'm sure they'd like to clean up the confetti on the stage." Vee suggested after a few moments of peaceful hugging, and Shelly just nodded as she moved away, then picked up her new trophy again.
"I've been wanting to show you my newest fossils too!! Let's go!!" Shelly cheered, and soon the two were walking hand in hand, tails wagging as Shelly soon was going off about how much Bright would've been such a great troodon if she was a dinosaur. Vee happily listened as always, just happy to exist with her adorable little fossil, while their two handlers looked at each other.
"They're definitely dating, aren't they?" Veronica asked, and Shanon nodded.
"Yup."
"Wanna see if Arthur would let Vee host more dinosaur trivia shows just to see them this happy more often?" Veronica suggested, and Shanon just nodded, smiling as she started skipping off to do so. Veronica couldn't help but chuckle as she followed her, finding it so cute that Shanon was just as silly and goofy as Shelly was when she's happy. She wouldn't mind seeing her around more often... Maybe they could be best friends one day. Who knows... Who knows.

“You Used To Love Me” Michael Gray Fan Fiction - Chapter 13
Well hi *I wave sheepishly from behind the computer screen*
Let me start by saying I am so so sorry that the conclusion of this story took so long - I have barely been writing for a really long time.
But this story and doing it justice has always been in the back of my mind, and I finally got myself to finish it for all of you who have been so loyal and patient.
Here is the final Chapter of You Used To Love Me.
All my love, I hope you enjoy x
Besides the obvious shock at seeing him at such a fucking inopportune time, his presence sends an immediate chill down my spine.
I have to physically close my eyes to try and rid my mind of the thoughts and flashbacks to the other night, when he kissed me. When we kissed each other.
The room collectively falls silent. No one tries to stutter over their words. No one tries to save the moment with some excuse. Just pure silence. All of us processing what has just unfolded. That is until Gina finally speaks.
“Well, I guess the gig is up” she says, almost laughing.
I don’t even look at her. My eyes are just glued to Michael. I watch his face contort into 100 different shades of confusion.
When no one else speaks, when nothing is elaborated, he looks back and forth between all of us, searching desperately for an answer.
“Izzy?” He says my name, his tone just begging me for an answer.
“This isn’t on her…” Gina begins, standing up slowly from the floor and straightening her dress “I’m pregnant, Michael”
And just like that, the bomb is dropped. But that’s not even the worst of it. My heart aches inside my chest, knowing that it’s about to get so much worse for Michael.
I didn’t think it was possible, but somehow the air in the room grows heavier.
My whole body tenses at I wait to see Michael’s reaction.
He doesn’t know it’s not his yet.
He runs his eyes over her, covering his mouth in shock when he finally notices the small baby bump just beginning to show through her dress.
“Oh my god” he runs a hand through his hair, his hands trembling.
He doesn’t speak, he just shakes his head in disbelief. No excitement. No joy at the thought of having his own child. And that says it all. He isn’t happy. This is not the life he wanted for himself.
Part of me want’s to tell him about Gina’s infidelity. To tell him that he is not having a child. That he is not going to be stuck raising a child with a woman he doesn’t love. But before I can even find the words, his head stops shaking and his brows furrow. Like a lightbulb switched on in his mind. Like something clicked. It’s like I can see him mind doing back flips as he realises that something doesn’t add up.
He looks back up at Gina, who is chewing at her bottom lip nervously. She is also waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Like she said, Michael is smart. It won’t be long before it dawns on him, and I know she does not want that moment to unfold before all of us, here in this room.
“I would like a moment alone with my husband” Gina says quickly, as she looks over at Polly and I. She knows Michael is starting to catch on to what he knows deep down inside. This is not his baby.
I take her queue to leave immediately, reaching for Polly’s hand. “Come on Pol, let’s go make some tea yeah?” I say, locking eyes with her and nodding towards the doorway.
Polly’s catches on, and she takes my hand as we both make our way out of the room. As we exit I quickly glance back over my shoulder to find Michael looking at me gravely, before Gina closes the door behind us.
Polly and I walk downstairs and into the kitchen in complete silence. I start making tea, but Polly touches my arm.
“This is not a time for tea… I’ll get the whisky”
I nod. I’m like a soldier with shell shock. I can barely speak. I can barely move as I lower my body stiffly into a chair at the dining table.
I’m straining with all my might to hear the conversation going on upstairs between Gina and Michael, but it’s eerily quiet.
I know what she is telling him now is being said in hushed voices.
Polly slides a hefty glass of Whiskey in my direction, and tasting the bitter drink is the only thing that brings me out of my frozen trance.
“Michael’s not going to be a father” she says out of the blue, with her face all knowing, as though she has read the room and understands the situation.
“No” I affirm her suspicions, although she already knows without me needing to “No he’s not”
“One day” Polly responds, holding eye contact with me.
I’ve always known Polly has senses. Everyone in the Shelby family knows. Hell, everyone in fucking town knows. She see’s things. Feels them. She know’s Michael will one day be a father. I’m not psychic and even I knew that. He has a way with children. He’s wonderful with them. And in this moment, I know exactly who she thinks he will be having children with. I know what shes insinuating.
I almost jump straight out of my seat when I few minutes later, I hear footsteps coming down the staircase.
I quickly sink the rest of my whiskey, as Gina and Michael enter the dining room.
“I’m taking Gina to the hospital, I’ll be back later. Tell Tommy we have to reschedule our meeting to another day”
Michael is holding his cap in his hands, gripping it so tight that his knuckles have gone white. But they’re not as white as his face. I can’t tell if he looks like he’s seen a ghost, or if he is the ghost.
Gina looks down at the floor, then up at the ceiling. Basically anywhere but at our faces.
Polly nods, knowing that now is not the time to have words with either of them. I’m actually impressed with how civil she is being towards Gina in this moment. In light of the severity of the situation.
Michael ushers Gina out the front door, and moments later the cars wheels turn on the gravel and make their way out of the street.
Polly and I sit in silence, drinking for a little bit longer, until everything catches up with me. The whiskey, the sleeplessness, the bomb that was just dropped.
Without saying much, Polly and I hug goodbye. She holds on a little longer than usual, and before we depart she gives me a knowing smile.
I know what she’s thinking. I know she can tell something happened between Michael and I.
But I can’t let my brain run off with the possibilities. I don’t know what is going to happen between us.
Even with Gina now possibly out of the picture, there’s a lot that has gone on between Michael and I. I still carry the pain, nursing it in my arms every day since he left for America, and came back with another woman. I don’t know what he could ever say to fix that.
And then there’s the possibility that he stays with her, despite the news. Which might just send me over the edge. Truly into a place of no return.
I wander the streets in the short walk back to my apartment, where I pour myself another drink when I arrive.
I don’t know why, but I sit by the window. Waiting, I guess. Hoping that he might show up. Maybe even part of me is hoping that he doesn’t. But still, I can’t pull myself away.
I have so many errands, so many jobs to do. But I can’t move on. I spend the rest of the day worrying about him. Picturing him at the hospital, sitting by Gina’s bedside. Supporting her on what might be the worst day of this life thus far. I picture his face when he found out she was pregnant. The horror and fear that he was trying to disguise.
He didn’t have the glow of someone who just found out their wife is having a baby.
By the time night falls, and dusk gives way, I have bitten my nails down to the quick without even noticing.
Feeling horrid and heavy with anxiety, I decide to drag my sleep deprived body into the shower. It’s a peaceful moment, and I start to feel like I could finally settle into bed when someone knocks at my door as I’m getting changed into my night gown.
I catch myself in the mirror for a moment, willing myself to be strong, because I already know who it is standing at my door without even having to open it.
As I make my way to my visitor, I run over 100 speeches that I have planned in my head. But once I grab that handle and pull it open, the chatter in my head falls silent.
Michael Grey.
He stands in the door way, a look of relief washing over his face as though he didn’t think I would actually answer him.
Of course I would.
He opens his mouth to speak, inhaling deeply, but the words never follow. With this much history between two people, it’s impossible to know where to begin.
He looks like he’s been to hell and back.
“Sorry” he stammers, snapping himself out of his trance “Your door was unlocked, but I didn’t want to just walk in-”
“It’s always been unlocked” I breathe, knowing that I’ve kept a lot of parts of me unlocked, incase there was a moment where Michael Grey decided to wander back in. Just like he has right now.
He nods, understanding what I meant immediately.
“Can I come in?” He begins “I can go if you want, I just…”
He looks so small in this moment. He’s the most timid and sheepish I have ever seen him.
“Of course” I nod, stepping aside to let him in.
We move about my apartment in silence, as we both take a seat at my dining table. When he does, he places his elbows on the table and rests his head in his hands.
Without even needing to ask, I pour us both a drink.
“I figured if I need one of these you probably do too”
I looks up at me gratefully as I place the glass in front of him and he takes a swig.
“How is she?” I ask, nervous to actually address the situation at hand. But I know there’s no way around it. We’re not going to talk about the fucking weather.
“They’re uh, they’re going to keep her overnight until she’s got her hydration back”
There’s silence for a moment before he continues, and he looks as if he’s not able to believe what he’s about to say.
“Then she’s going home”
My heart jumps and skips over a few beats, making me feel unsteady as I realise what he just said.
Gina is leaving.
“We’re done” he says, and I suddenly take note of the fact that he’s not wearing his wedding ring.
“Michael I’m sorry-” I begin, but falter when it comes to finishing my sentence.
I am sorry. But the truth is that I’m fucking relieved. Relieved for Michael. Relieved for myself. Relieved that I don’t have to watch him raise a child with someone else right in front of my eyes when it was supposed to be me.
“It’s okay” he nods “Her and I we weren’t… I didn’t love her Izzy”
I knew this whole time. I want to scream it from the rooftops. I want to scream it at him. I want to ask what possessed him to act that way for so long.
I want to ask him who he loves. I want to ask him if it’s still me.
“It still hurts though” I say instead, trying to keep my wits about me. And that is the truth. He is still in pain.
“Yeah well I had that coming didn’t I” he almost laughs to himself, shaking his head.
He looks up at me, bearing himself. He knows what he did was wrong. And he knows as far as karma goes, he was now getting his.
“I’ve done so many things wrong… Everything got so out of control Iz” I notice his knee is bouncing rapidly beneath the table.
I hold my breath, so much so that I begin to feel light headed and my chest begins to burn.
“We don’t have to talk about this if you don’t want to” he says once he notices my speechlessness, “I just owe you an explanation. I owe you that much”
I nod, giving him the go ahead. The green light of redemption.
We’re on the edge of the moment. The moment I’ve been waiting for for months.
“You know I don’t even know why you let me in, you’re always so kind, so good. Too fucking good. After everything”
His chest rises and falls beneath his shirt and vest, growing faster with every second as he gets himself more and more worked up over the train wreck of his life.
“You know I can’t get the look on your face out of my head, from the day that you saw me and Gina. The day I came back and told you to leave me alone. It fucking haunts me Izzy. Because I didn’t want it. But when you’re in too deep…” He shakes his head, as his words just keep pouring out frantically “I thought it was the only way… the only way to deal with what I had done. I couldn’t even look at Gina. I couldn’t even touch her. So I thought if I forgot about you, that I could move on”
“Did you?” Are the only words I can utter, as the lump in my throat swells, almost cutting off my voice completely.
“Never. Fucking never”
I had built this moment up in my head for so long.
What I would say to him.
How I would teach him a lesson.
How I would show him what he had done to me.
That he can’t get away with doing that to a person.
I had rehearsed how I would make him get on his knees and beg for my forgiveness.
Make him explain himself until he was blue in the face.
Until I was satisfied.
I wait for that feeling to come, the rage, but it never does.
Instead, I stay silent as he takes a deep breath to steady himself. His eyes are welling up, threatening to spill over as he continues to explain.
“I lost my way over there. I was losing my fucking mind without you. I got drunk, Gina was forceful. One thing led to another and I woke up next to her one morning. Then I couldn’t get rid of her. I was doing business with her family, and it’s like she saw something she wanted and would stop at nothing to get it. That’s when I stopped contact with you… I couldn’t bring myself to talk to you. To face what I had done”
The first tear falls onto his freckled cheeks, but he wipes it quickly.
“I was going to cut her off before I came back home, but she threatened that she would cut off the deal between Shelby Limited and her Uncles if I left her. She threatened fucking horrible things to the people I loved Izzy, you have no idea” His voice is panicked as he recalls every last detail, and I can see the flashbacks taking their toll on him.
“Her family and her people, they’re something we’ve never dealt with before…She begged me to let her come with me. I was in way over my fucking head. And so I had to pretend. I didn’t want her to sink her claws into you too. I didn’t want anything to happen to you. I didn’t want you involved. So I had to pretend like I fucking hated you when all I wanted was to come crawling home to you”
By now, one tear had led to another, and he was no longer wiping them away. His eyes red, his cheeks drowning.
Unable to keep swallowing the lump in my own throat, I abandon all control over my own emotions, and my own eyes spill over with tears.
“You could have told me” my voice scrapes out of my throat “You could have told me what was happening”
He shakes his head “I wanted to protect you, and I had to break you in order to do that. And I’m so fucking sorry”
The feeling comes again, where I’m certain I should be screaming at him right now. Cursing him for everything he put me through.
But I can’t. After all this time, after everything. I just can’t.
I still love him.
My small, shaking hand glides across the top of the dining table, and lays gently over the top of his.
Of course it did. We’re like magnets, him and I. We’ve never been able to keep away from each other.
My touch has an immediate effect on him, as his breathing begins to calm.
But in an unexpected turn, he holds my hand and brings it up to his lips. His eyes close as he places a kiss on the back of my hand, and then another one on the soft, sensitive skin of my inner wrist.
This is something we used to do all the time, and right now, it’s like he doesn’t realise what he’s doing. Muscle memory takes over.
“You’re fucking stupid Michael Grey” I sniffle “I should hate you. I should fucking hate you”
“Do you?” He asks, still holding onto my hand like it’s his only lifeline.
I stare back at him for a moment, before I feel my head start to shake in response.
“Never”
I feel a pull on my arm, as I realise he’s pulling my closer to him.
And I don’t resist.
Our bodies creep closer, slowly then all at once as we collide. His arms wrap around me fiercely, engulfing me. My arms wrap around his torso, and I make no mistakes about holding him tight.
It’s almost crushing, suffocating, the way we are clinging onto one another.
I can’t breathe, or cry, or laugh. I can’t move. And I don’t want to.
His hand holds the back of my head, and I bury it into the crook of his neck.
“I’m so sorry” he apologises, his voice muffled as his face presses into my skin “I’m so fucking sorry”
I could have stayed like that forever, but he pulls back holding my face in his hands as he looks down at me.
“I love you” he begins, his breath tickling my face “I don’t know if that’s okay with you, but I still love you. Izzy. I never stopped”
I look up at him, our breaths slowing and steadying, until we’re breathing in synchronicity.
“I still love you the same as the day I met you” I shake my head, but I can feel the smallest of smiles begin to creep onto my lips “I love you Michael”
“Yeah?” He asks one more time, as if he doesn’t believe it yet.
“Yes, you fucking idiot” I exhale a laugh, unable to stop the smile now “I love you”
He beams back down at me, his head lowering until his lips meet mine.
He’s slow, this time. Unsure. Gentle. As if this moment might fall away and escape him if he makes one wrong move.
But I can’t hold back any longer.
I kiss him back, pressing my body even harder against his, which I hadn’t thought was possible.
I expect a ravenous kiss to follow, for clothes to start falling off our bodies and to gravitate our way towards my bedroom.
But after he returns a tender kiss, he pulls away.
“Wait” he breathes
“You okay?” I pant, biting down on my lip.
“Can we wait…” he whispers nervously “I don’t want you to think this is all I want. I just want to talk to you. Stay up all night talking like we used to. God I missed you so much”
My chest warms up, as I realise he really means it. That he doesn’t want me to get the wrong impression. That he missed my body, but more than that, he missed me.
“Of course” I coo “I would like that”
He presses his lips to mine one last time, then plants a few soft kisses across my nose and cheeks. Just like he used to.
We lead each other to the bedroom, and flop down next to each other, taking in the days events. And how the hell we ended up here.
It doesn’t take long for the conversation to start, as we turn to face each other.
He caresses my face the whole time, stroking my cheek with his thumb gently.
It’s all so familiar, and right now in our little bubble, it’s like no time has passed between us at all. Like no hearts were ever broken.
We talk for hours, neither of us ever feeling tired for a moment. We laugh, getting carried away and wrapped up in each others. Sometimes we cry. He apologises more times than I can keep count. We hold each other. Sometimes I want to ask him to pinch me, to make sure I’m not still concussed from earlier in the week and imagining all of this. That I’m not going to wake up and realise it wasn’t real. That he won’t be taken away from me again.
We talk about how things used to be.
We talk about the future.
Eventually at some point in the early hours of the morning, once our voices are tired and we can’t keep our eyes open any longer, we fall asleep.
When I wake, I’m alone, but next to me I can see the indent of where Michael had been next to me the night before.
My heart starts to race as I become more aware.
He’s left. He’s gone again.
I’m almost carried away into a full panic attack, when something snaps me out of it. The sound of the radio coming from somewhere in the house.
Wondering if someone is here, or if I just left it on, I wrap myself in a robe and make my way into the heart of my apartment.
And there he is.
Fixing up breakfast, still in his clothes from the night before. Humming along to the radio.
He doesn’t even realise I’m there for a few moments, and I’m glad I have some time to process this all to myself.
I had thought I’d never see this scene again. Maybe in my memories, but never in real life.
Michael, in my kitchen, making us breakfast on a cold morning.
My chest floods with warmth.
I didn’t realise how I felt like I had been holding my breath up until this moment, and how now I can finally exhale.
“Morning” he greets me when I he catches me standing there out of the corner of his eye “Sorry, I just thought I’d make you some breakfast, or at least coffee”
“Thank you” I smile, as I force myself to hurry up and adjust to the moment.
“You still like your eggs the same?”
“Absolutely” I smile, endeared by him asking.
He holds out a hand, and I take it, as he reels me in towards his body.
“If this is too much just tell me” he says softly, checking in with where I’m at right now “Is this okay?”
I can tell he’s still unsure. Unsure of whether I’m going to tell him to leave. To get out. That the mistakes are unforgivable and that we can never get it back.
But the truth, that I can feel in my core, is that what we had never really left.
I run a hand through his hair, and he closes his eyes briefly, taking in the sensation.
“I think so” I nod, and he perks up, his eyes look hopeful and bright again “I thought you had left” I admit, revealing why I looked so startled just now.
“No chance” he shakes his head “I’m here. I’m yours”
And I believe him.
It’s a pivotal moment.
Standing on the edge and letting yourself jump.
I know it will take time. And I know he will work every day to prove it to me.
But I choose to trust him.
In whatever way that means right now.
I am his.
I always have been. And I always will.

Franklin with an autistic gender-neutral (preferably trans masc) reader who is obsessed with Project Sekai
Pairing: Franklin Clinton x Transmasc Reader
I hope I have captured the right things @lorettanevy
Franklin had always been a laid-back guy, someone who enjoyed life’s simpler pleasures—a good drive, a good laugh, and the company of people who mattered. But when it came to you and your seemingly endless passion for Project Sekai and Vocaloid music, he found himself completely fascinated. It wasn’t because he understood it right away—far from it, actually. At first, it was confusing. Animated characters singing futuristic-sounding songs? It wasn't exactly something that popped up in Franklin's world of fast cars and the occasional chaos of Los Santos.
But then, there was you. The way your face lit up whenever you talked about the game or a new Vocaloid track you'd discovered had him hooked. You'd explain the intricacies of the game, describing the different character groups, their backstories, and the emotions behind the songs. Franklin would sit back, arms crossed, nodding here and there, but inside, he was marveling at how alive you seemed. He loved watching you get so excited, even if he only caught about half of what you were saying.
One evening, you were going on about your favorite Vocaloid, showing Franklin a music video and pointing out the intricate animation. “See how their movements sync perfectly with the beat? It’s all programmed, but it feels so alive! ” you said, your voice brimming with excitement. Franklin leaned in, watching intently. “So, they ain’t real, but people love them like they’re real?
That’s wild,” he remarked, shaking his head slightly but with a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. Over time, his curiosity grew. He began asking questions—not just to humor you but because he genuinely wanted to understand. “So, this Hatsune Miku… She’s like the queen of this, right? ” he’d ask, and your face would break into a wide smile as you launched into an explanation.
Franklin stored away little facts you shared, like the meaning behind certain songs or why a particular character resonated with you. He loved the way your voice softened when you got to the more emotional parts, or how it sped up when you were really excited. One day, while scrolling on his phone, Franklin stumbled across an ad for limited-edition Vocaloid merchandise. It wasn’t something he’d usually pay attention to, but he found himself clicking the link. After a quick search, he ordered a small figurine of your favorite Vocaloid and a hoodie with a subtle design from the game. When the package arrived, he handed it to you casually, pretending it was no big deal.
“Thought you might like this,” he said, watching your reaction. Your gasp of delight and the way you immediately hugged him made it all worth it. Franklin’s efforts didn’t stop there. He started watching over your shoulder when you played Project Sekai, observing how your fingers tapped the screen in perfect rhythm with the music. “Damn, how do you keep up with all that? ” he’d ask, shaking his head in awe. One night, he surprised you by asking to play.
“Let me see if I got the skills for this,” he said, grinning confidently. Of course, it ended in laughter as he fumbled through the notes, missing most of them. “Alright, alright, I ain’t built for this,” he admitted, laughing along with you. Despite his struggles with the game, Franklin was determined to show his support. When a Vocaloid concert was announced in a nearby city, he didn’t hesitate to buy tickets. The idea of holographic singers performing live was still bizarre to him, but he knew how much it would mean to you.
On the night of the concert, he stood beside you in a sea of fans, feeling slightly out of place but loving how happy you were.
You sang along to every song, your face glowing with pure joy. Franklin couldn’t help but take a few photos, not of the stage but of you.
On quieter days, when you felt overwhelmed or overstimulated, Franklin made it his mission to create a peaceful environment for you. He’d dim the lights, put on your favorite Vocaloid playlist, and sit with you quietly, letting the music fill the space. He didn’t need to say much; his presence was enough to remind you that he cared. Franklin might not have started as a fan of Vocaloids or Project Sekai, but he’d found a new appreciation for it through you. More importantly, he loved how it brought you happiness and gave him a deeper understanding of who you were. Your passion had become something he cherished, not because he fully understood it, but because it was a part of you—and to Franklin, that was all that mattered.

treasure reaction to idolcrush!reader getting eliminated on a survival show
pairing: [seperate] ot12 x reader / ot12 x idolcrush!gn!reader
HYUNG LINE || MAKNAE(ish) LINE coming soon !!
warnings: been in my ygtb feels lately… u get eliminated in a 1:1 match, also positions of the reader (rapper, dancer etc) are based off the member (e.g. haruto = rapper!reader), also this has been in my drafts for 2+ weeks so i wanted to post it even tho it's unfinished IM SORRY
wordcount: 1.3k words / bulletpoint reaction

hyunsuk
song — regular by nct 127
he fell in love with your performance omg
your talent: UNPARALLELED
you had so much potential!! he was excited to see you grow as a rapper omg
literally gets so soft when you get all smiley from getting a compliment from the main producer
but then…..YOU LOST???
this dude was SHOCKED
but at the same time he wasn’t
like honestly he’d know that popular idols will get eliminated because it brings in the moneyyy
but still!
he didn’t actually expect you to get eliminated so early on?
hoped SO BAD that there would be a second chance for you
like he’s just in denial for so long
he just. he refuses to believe that that just happened
he got super sad when you were saying your goodbye speech :(
he wished the speech was longer AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN bc it was like 4 seconds long and you deserved way more
it’s not even hyunsuk’s opinion it was a FACT
expect backlash from twitter user @i_am_not_hyunsuk99
jihoon
song — epiphany by bts
you both knew each other while you were training
he was bored and decided to spend his free time with the new trainees
jihoon actually found out abt the survival show thru you,,so it’s pretty much a given he’s already attached to you from the second you show up on screen
then you preformed and oh boy
he could cry at your vocals
he probably has already but i won’t talk about it to save his pride.
jihoon was SO proud of you :(
he was reaching for his phone to compliment you on your “win” and,, jihoon being jihoon, clown you over the small shake in your voice towards the beginning
he just freezes seeing the pure look of joy in your eyes
park jihoon IS MELTING. OVER YOU!!
he’s so whipped god help him
he was so ready to hear your name shouted through the mic as you moved on to the final line up to debut
he’s so cocky about it like he’ll lean back in his chair absolutely CONFIDENT you will win.
but then you don’t.
and he has to pause the video to physically go ‘???????’
he has to prepare himself cause he knows you’re gonna cry and just the thought alone breaks his heart
like hyunsuk, he gets upset when you do your goodbye speech, but it’s not the end.
because this man is a doer
a very, extremely impulsive doer
you don’t even have to wait a day to have your ‘ex’-manager show up at your door, telling you you’ll debut as a soloist, with jihoon standing beside them with a stupid smug grin on his face
yoshinori
song — spring day by bts
his heart is breaking even before you get eliminated, or before your performance starts
because the song you chose was actually in tribute to your best friend that was eliminated in an earlier episode
you two constantly were talking about debuting together, but of course, that couldn’t happen
after they got eliminated, you promised them you would debut, and that they just have to wait a little bit longer
you were paired against one of your other friends for the 1:1 battle too and yoshi knew this episode was going to kill him.
he tries his hardest not to sob his eyes out
instead he sobs his heart out
he thought your performance was perfect, and despite being a rapper, you sang part of the harmonies and he just closes his eyes and appreciates you cause HELLO!! YOU SOUNDED SO ANGELIC
after it was announced that you lost, he Didn’t know what to do with his life
like everything he’s ever known
a LIE.
no but seriously he’s so UPSET???
you thought he sobbed his heart out before well apparently he’s got two hearts cause he DID IT AGAIN
your ending speech was just ‘i broke my promise.’ and he wanted to just run through the screen and hug you
he’s not Ok
j-line has to step in and help out because yoshi just Stopped working and could only speak japanese
def will get teased about it later but he stands by it. he will argue with the wall if there’s a piece of paper taped on it that says ‘y/n didn’t deserve the attention they got’ bc NOPE HE’S NOT HAVING IT.
junkyu
song — grow up by stray kids
he’s dead
by the chorus, he’s literally all over you
literally doing puppy eyes at you as your sweet voice fills his ears
the song just hits too close to home and he’s constantly sighing in adoration
he is falling in love with how you chose the song because you wanted to let others know that success doesn’t come fast and it’s okay if it takes a while
the song isn’t even by you but the raw emotion in your voice makes it feel so real
throughout the song he’s just like ‘:o wahh… WAHH…’ but quietly cause he’s just so amazed…
please he’s so cute
by the time you’ve finished, he’s forgotten it was actually like 3 am and very loudly goes ‘WOOOWW!!!’
jihoon tells him to SHUT UP and sleep but he doesn’t because it’s ‘loving y/n hours’ (junkyu’s words not his)
but no amount of sweet fawning could prepare him for the next couple seconds of this episode
jaw dropped.
you… lost….
he sits like that for so long just looking around, looking anywhere but the monitor
it takes him a bit to build his courage to start the video again
dude this boy gets out a tissue and ‘wipes’ your tears as footage of you crying appears on his screen
he’s doing some sobbing himself
kyu buys you your favorite snacks and sends them to your dorm to attempt to cheer you up cause he’s too scared to see you in person
fears he will just end up Sobbing right in front of your face and he’d very much like to keep his dignity
but little did he know that jihoon caught a video of kyu wiping your tears through his computer monitor LMFAOO
jaehyuk
song — one in a million by twice
the way you’re singing makes him feel so nice
literally your choice of song has him at a chokehold
but like a very soft chokehold like he’s just forever chained to this song now
he’s so smiley throughout your performance omg
would be the king of praise but his vocab only consists of ‘aigoo’ and ‘cute’
actually tho jaehyuk is amazed by your performance
he is so proud of you pt 2
even if the only words he can get out are ‘they’re so cute!’ he feels so much more
he thinks you’re amazing as a person and your smooth voice just tops it all off
honestly could go on and on about you if given the chance
would scramble to add your cover to his playlist as soon as he can PLEASE
he screen records your performance
but he immediately stops it after hearing you lost
no, he’s not embarrassed or anything
he’s just ??? baffled ??? like there’s no way that you LOST
THERE’S NO WAY YOU LOST AFTER A PERFORMANCE LIKE THAT
furiously opens twitter and is pleased to see that the majority of people agree
although he wants to pull a jihoon and march right up to the producer to give you the chance you deserve, he doesn’t really know how to go about it
so he’s just sulking for the next week
or maybe two
he’ll start sulking anytime someone mentions it actually.
he’s so sad about it since he knows you worked really hard to get that far but he’ll send you nice messages on twitter
forgot to switch accounts tho so all the boys saw jaehyuk’s very heartfelt message to you and your elimination
TREASURE WILL NEVER LET HIM LIVE IT DOWN.
instant regret but at least you acknowledged him :,)

The Sweetest Devotion

Summary: Pregnancy is hard work. The fatigue, the morning sickness and the strange new aches and pains are bad enough, but the nerves about how a new baby will change your family dynamic can be just as tough. Luckily, for Chris and Whitney, the excitement and love they have for their little baby on the way far outweighs any struggles that could pop up and they’re hopeful that Grayson will feel the same as they navigate their way through the first expansion of their little family.

Girl.
A girl
We were having a girl.
The holidays had come and gone rather peacefully. We embraced our final Christmas celebration as a family of three and spent plenty of time with as many of our friends and family as we could fit in, but January soon came around and so did my ultrasound appointment - the one that would determine the gender of the newest addition to our family. The morning of the big day was quite chaotic as we tried to get Grayson ready for school while also trying to manage the excitement we were both feeling at the thought of getting to see our little baby again, but as soon as the appointment started and our baby popped up on the screen it felt like the whole world slowed down.
The heartbeat was strong, the baby was active and developing right on track, and it was a girl.
Chris was practically giddy when the doctor gave us the news, fiercely gripping my hand and fighting back the tears that were welling in his eyes and, at first, I matched his enthusiasm. I was fighting back my own tears of joy as my mind raced with excitement about all the possibilities that the news presented us with. The potential for that strong mother-daughter bond, the fun girly activities that Grayson had no interest in, the thought of Chris having tea parties and playing princesses - there were plenty of things that had me practically bursting with excitement - but there was an undercurrent of fear bubbling below the surface and by the time we were walking to the car, as the news sunk in, I was filled with anxiety.
I hadn’t put much thought into whether we were having a boy or a girl because I didn’t think I particularly had a preference - as long as the baby was healthy and happy, that was what was important - but now that we knew, I felt less sure that I didn’t care. We had a boy already, I knew what to do with a boy - how to bond with him, things that he might be interested in, how boys think and play and communicate - but a girl was a whole new ballgame, a whole new list of struggles and things to learn, and I wasn’t sure that I was ready for that challenge.
I could feel myself spiraling into panic, but as I looked over at Chris once we were settled in the car and I saw the huge grin of pure joy on his face, I tried to quiet my anxiety.
“I can’t believe we’re having a girl,” he said, shaking his head in disbelief. “I would have been happy either way, but it’ll be nice to have a girl to balance things out.”
“You think so?” I questioned, smiling at his enthusiasm despite my nerves. “Don’t you think it would be kinda easier to have another boy? Since we know what to expect already?”
“Nah,” Chris shrugged. “Even if we had a boy, he could be completely different to Grayson and I think it’ll be fun to see the differences and similarities with a girl.”
“And you’ll have someone to watch the Little Mermaid with.”
My words were teasing, but Chris’ eyes lit up.
“Yes! Exactly!”
His eager agreement was followed immediately by several rambled plans and ideas for all the things he wanted to do with or teach our daughter and his exuberant delight was contagious. I couldn’t help but giggle and go along with all of his wild daydreams, but as I let my hand rest on my stomach and felt our daughter moving under my touch, I still couldn’t shake my worries from my mind.
I really didn’t want to damper Chris’ mood by sharing any of my reservations and I knew he had some work that had to be done when we got home so - feeling the need to clear my head and try to find a way to work through my nerves - I headed out again almost as soon as we got home. I told Chris that I needed to get some things from the store before I picked up Grayson and headed out for a drive to work through my thoughts.
Half an hour later, I realized that my solitude had had the opposite effect and I’d managed to work myself into an even more anxious state. I knew that I needed to find someone who I could share my concerns with and talk through the doubts I was having, but I surprised even myself when I ended up parked outside of Lisa’s house. Desperate for someone with experience to ease my worries, it made sense for me to turn to her and I was relieved that some part of my brain still seemed to be thinking clearly. I was also relieved that Lisa was usually home on Friday mornings and her car was parked in the driveway so - before I could change my mind and leave with my fears still festering - I climbed out of the car and headed towards the house.
“Whitney, hi,” Lisa greeted me, the surprise on her face clear as she opened the door. “I wasn’t expecting you, is everything okay?”
“Everything’s fine,” I assured her. “Better than fine actually, but I was wondering if you had a few minutes to chat? I’d love to pick your brain about a few things.”
“Of course! I’m here anytime you’d like to talk,” she smiled. “Come on in.”
She led me into the kitchen and offered me a variety of drinks as I settled at the table. A moment later she joined me with two glasses of water, setting one down in front of me before sitting on the other side of the table.
“So,” she started. “What’s up?”
“Well, we had an ultrasound this morning,” I smiled. “And we found out that we’re having a girl.”
A grin immediately burst onto Lisa’s face.
“Oh my gosh, that’s great! Congratulations!”
“Thank you. We’re pretty excited,” I admitted. “But, if I’m being honest, I’m kinda freaking out a little bit.”
The smile stayed on Lisa’s face as she sipped her water.
“Freaking out about what?”
“Just, like, a bunch of things. Like, uh…” I paused for a moment to gather my thoughts before taking a deep breath and blurting out the root cause of my concern. “I just don’t want to let her down.”
“What makes you think that would happen?”
Lisa was always easy to talk to and I was comforted by the lack of judgement in her voice.
“I think it just feels like more pressure,” I confessed. “When I was pregnant with Grayson I read something about the strongest role model in a child’s life being the same-sex parent and while I know that I’m just as important to Grayson as Chris is and that Chris will be just as important to this baby as me, I feel like suddenly I have a huge responsibility on my shoulders and I don’t know if I can live up to it.”
Lisa nodded and took a moment to ponder my words before responding.
“Well, first of all, I think that belief isn’t necessarily true. There may be some things that girls learn from their mothers, but I don’t think the pressure should ever be on one parent more than the other to be a good role model,” she informed me. “But even if it was, you absolutely can live up to that responsibility, Whitney. You’re an amazing mother and it comes so naturally to you.”
There was something about how genuine her tone was that put a smile on my face.
“Thank you, it’s sweet of you to say that, but I know I’ve made some questionable decisions in my life and while I don’t think there’s many things that I would change, I don’t think I’d want our daughter to follow in some of my footsteps.”
“Like getting pregnant from a one night stand with a man who then broke your heart?”
Her words were teasing, but I felt a blush rise over my cheeks as I nodded.
“Yes, but in my defense, I didn’t know it was going to be a one night stand.”
“Oh, I know,” Lisa chuckled. “I wish you could have heard the stern talking to that I gave Chris when he told me what he’d done. I was absolutely furious.”
A laugh fell from my lips as I could imagine that scenario very easily. Chris had briefly told me how it went down, but as loving and kind as Lisa was, she wasn’t one to mince words when she felt like something needed to be said and I was fairly certain that she was harder on Chris than he ever let on.
“I appreciate your support,” I assured her before adding what I’d told his friends too. “But I think, however difficult it was at the time, it made us stronger. The time apart helped us know how badly we wanted to be together and the constant miscommunication that led to that situation in the first place has helped us learn how to talk to each other now.”
Lisa nodded with a knowing smile on her face.
“That kind of proves the next point I was going to make,” she informed me. “Everyone makes questionable decisions in life. Sometimes it works out for us and sometimes we crash and burn, but those risky choices help us grow as people. Your daughter might not follow exactly in your footsteps, but no matter what you and Chris do, there will be times in her life where she does something downright stupid and all you can do is help her through it.”
I smiled at Lisa’s honesty, but deep down I knew that it was true. It was nerve wracking being a parent and no one ever wanted to see their child go through anything challenging, but when I reflected on my own life I did have to admit that - within reason - those challenges are what help shape people.
“You’re right,” I agreed after a moment of thought, feeling a hint of relief at the edge of my panic. “Were you scared when you found out that Carly was a girl?”
“Absolutely,” Lisa admitted. “I was terrified. The world can be a tough place for girls and women, but Robert and I helped both our girls through it the same way that I’m sure your parents helped you and the same way that I’m sure you and Chris will help your daughter too.”
“It just seems so scary,” I sighed. “And what if she just doesn’t like me? I see how close you are with Carly and Shanna and I have a really good relationship with my mom. I want that with her, but what if we just don’t bond?”
“I’m sure you will. Why wouldn’t you?”
“I dunno,” I shrugged. “What if our personalities just clash?”
“They may at times,” Lisa warned, but the soft smile on her face was comforting. “But I’m sure overall, you two will be just fine. I disagree and butt heads with my kids all the time - Chris in particular, if I’m honest - but at the end of the day if you give them lots of love and a bit of understanding then things usually work out okay. I’m sure you’ve found that with Grayson.”
“That’s true, I have,” I nodded. “He’s pretty great, but he definitely has his tough moments too.”
“Oh, I’ve seen it,” Lisa chuckled. “But you just find a way to work through it.”
“I know,” I sighed again. “This whole pregnancy has just had my anxiety on edge. I was thinking about it on my way here and I think I just feel a lot more pressure because we planned this one. I know that sounds so stupid, but with Grayson it was more like ‘okay, we’re in this whether we like it or not and we’re just going to have to do our best’ and I felt like I was allowed to be clueless because I was so unprepared.”
“But with this baby you feel like you went into the situation knowingly so you have to have it together right from the start?” Lisa waited for me to nod before continuing. “No one expects that of you! Every child is different and has different challenges. It’s impossible to have it all together from the beginning, but I know that you’ll figure it out with this baby just like you did with Gray.”
“I hope so and I hope you don’t think that I’m not happy about this baby,” I rushed to clarify. “I am really happy! And I’m thrilled that it’s a girl. It just gets overwhelming sometimes, I guess.”
“That’s understandable,” Lisa assured me. “You’re going through a big change right now, there’s a lot to think about and it’s easy to get caught up in your fears, but I know that you will be fine. You really are a great mom, you’ve built such an amazing relationship with Grayson and he just adores you so I have no doubt that the same will be true with this little baby too.”
I let out a deep breath of relief as I flashed her a smile.
“Thanks, Lisa. I’m sorry for dumping all of this on you, but I needed to get it off my chest and you were the most qualified person I could think of.”
“I’m happy you reached out,” she assured me. “I know it must be hard with your family being on the other side of the country, but you’re family to us too now and I’m happy you feel comfortable talking to me about things like this.”
“I’m so grateful that you’re willing to listen. I honestly couldn’t have asked to be marrying into a better family.”
“Well, we’re very lucky to have you too,” Lisa smiled as a twinkle shined in her eye. “But anyway, if your worries are somewhat eased for now, let’s talk about happier things. Like, have you two picked out a name yet?”
I laughed and shook my head, but I really did feel like she’d put me at ease. The sheer panic that I’d been feeling by the time we’d gotten home from our appointment had dulled into a mild apprehension and as we transitioned our conversation into all the fun and subtle differences between having a boy versus a girl I felt much more like everything was going to be just fine.
-
When I got home with Grayson after picking him up from preschool, Chris and Dodger eagerly met us at the door. Chris scooped Grayson up into his arms and asked him about his day as I happily greeted Dodger before we sent both boys into the kitchen with the promise of a snack. Once they were out of sight and earshot, Chris pulled me into his arms before I could follow them and I relaxed into his embrace until he spoke.
“Are you feeling better?”
I leaned back to look at him with my shock probably written all over my face.
“Did your mom call you?”
“My mom?” Chris chuckled as he shook his head. “No, but it was obvious that something was bothering you. You ran out of here lookin’ pretty panicked and you claimed that you were going to get groceries, but you’ve come home without any.”
He shot me a smirk as he spoke and I matched it.
“What if they’re in the car?”
“Are they?”
“No,” I admitted. “I was panicking a little bit, but I ended up at your mom’s place and we had a really nice conversation. She calmed me down completely.”
That information put a big smile on Chris’ face as he pulled me even closer to his body.
“She’s pretty great at that, isn’t she?” He murmured, placing a kiss on the top of my head. “I’m glad you’re feeling better.”
“I am,” I assured him. “And I’m really excited that we’re having a girl. I just needed a moment to wrap my head around it.”
“I get it, it’s all good,” he smiled. “To be honest, I’m freakin’ out a bit now. I have no idea what girls like and what if she wants to watch Frozen all the time? It’s my least favourite Disney movie!”
I snorted out a laugh at his obviously very serious concerns and slipped out of his grasp.
“I dunno, I guess you’ll just have to let it go.”
I shrugged and tried to play it cool, but as Chris chuckled and cringed, I couldn’t help but giggle at my own joke.
“Funny, Winnie, very funny,” he shook his head. “Just wait until you’re doing Elsa braids all day long, then we’ll see who’s laughing.”
“Unless she’s a daddy’s girl and only wants you to do it.”
The grin on Chris’ face shifted into one of pride at the thought.
“I would do it happily, but I’ll brace myself for the disappointed sighs and claims that Mama does it better,” he teased. “Anyway, should we tell Gray the news?”
“I guess so,” I smiled. “Do you think he’s going to be super disappointed?”
“Maybe a little, but he’ll get over it,” Chris shrugged. “I think he’ll like having a sister and it’ll be good for him in the long run. I think having sisters definitely helped me understand women a bit better.”
“That’s true and I’m sure she’ll adore him and want him to teach her everything he knows even if it’s not ‘girly’ things,” I nodded, rubbing a hand over my growing bump as my heart clenched at the thought of Grayson supporting his sibling and passing on all his knowledge. “Gosh, I really can’t wait, Chris.”
He looked at me with glassy eyes and I knew that he was thinking the same thing as I was. It was scary to expand our family, but I knew it would be worth it and I was so excited about all the new memories that we would get to create.
“I can’t wait either,” he agreed, taking my hand in his and lifting it to place a kiss on my knuckles before flashing me a smirk. “Let’s go ruin Grayson’s day.”
A laugh burst from my lips as I protested his choice of words and let him lead me into the kitchen. Grayson was sitting at the table, waiting patiently for the snack that we’d promised so we sat down to join him.
“So, Grayson,” Chris started. “We got some news today that we wanted to share with you.”
“Oh?” He smiled at us. “What is it?”
I glanced at Chris before answering.
“We found out that the baby is a girl!”
Grayson stared at us for a moment, his eyes flitting from me to Chris and back again before he shook his little head and eventually blurted out his response.
“Oh, fuck.”
The sound of such a word leaving Grayson’s mouth had me shocked, but his tone and perfect delivery had me biting my lip to hold back a laugh as Chris jumped into action.
“Hey, whoa, that is not a word that you should be using, buddy.”
Grayson’s brow furrowed in what appeared to be genuine confusion.
“But Mama says it all the time!”
My jaw dropped at that claim as Chris burst out laughing, shaking his head at me.
“I do not,” I protested. “When do I say that, Gray?”
“A lot,” he insisted. “When you drop stuff or when we’re late.”
Chris clutched his chest as he laughed while I huffed. I always tried to be careful with my language around Grayson and I thought I was fairly successful, but he’d clearly heard it somewhere and if he was armed with examples of when I’d used it then I knew he was probably right.
“Well, I shouldn’t have done that,” I admitted. “It’s not a nice word and even though grown-ups say it sometimes when they get really frustrated, it’s important that you don’t say it too because it can hurt people’s feelings, okay?”
“Okay, Mama,” he nodded. “I’ll try.”
I smiled at him as Chris finally got his laughter under control and refocused our conversation.
“Having a sister isn’t a bad thing, Gray,” he insisted. “I have two, remember? And we have lots of fun together.”
“Maybe,” Grayson sighed. “But girls don’t like dinosaurs, girls just like princesses.”
“That’s not true,” I argued. “Some girls like princesses, but some like dinosaurs too. Girls like lots of things.”
Grayson’s brow furrowed into a worried little expression as he looked at me.
“Are you sure?”
“Absolutely,” I smiled. “I’m sure she’ll love for you to teach her all you know about dinosaurs and everything that you like.”
He seemed to be quite soothed by my assurances as he nodded his head.
“Okay,” he finally decided. “It’s okay that it’s a girl.”
Chris and I chuckled at his resigned agreement and I stood up to make him his snack, pausing briefly to kiss the top of his head.
“I’m glad that you’re okay with it,” I smiled as I moved towards the fridge. “Are you hungry too, Chris?”
“Hmm, what were you thinking of making?”
I rolled my eyes at his answer, but turned to Grayson.
“What do you want, Gray?”
“Peanut butter and jelly!”
“Okay,” I nodded. “We can do that. Maybe with some carrot sticks and hummus?”
Grayson eagerly agreed and Chris shot me a smirk.
“I think I’ll just steal some of Grayson’s.”
“No!” Grayson protested, a scowl sliding onto his face. “I don’t want to share!”
I could tell that Chris was just winding him up and I turned away to hide my amusement and start preparing his lunch.
“But I’m not hungry enough to eat a whole sandwich,” Chris argued. “Can I just have a few bites of yours? And maybe a couple of carrot sticks?”
“No, Daddy,” Grayson said firmly. “You can have your own. Mama, I don’t want to share!”
“Not even one bite?” I teased, amused by how he so fiercely hated sharing any of his food. He’d been like that all this life and considering how generous and kind he was about almost everything else, I’d always found it funny. However, as he frantically shook his head, I took pity on him. “Okay, buddy, you don’t have to share even one bite. If Daddy wants some food, I can make him his own sandwich.”
Grayson smiled as Chris sighed dramatically and reluctantly agreed, informing me that he didn’t want a sandwich and promising not to steal any of Gray’s. Once I’d made lunch and sat down with them, I brought up something Chris’ mom had mentioned as Grayson ate.
“Now that we know it’s a girl, we should start thinking about what to name her.”
“That’s true,” Chris smiled. “Any ideas?”
“I like the name Isla,” I mused, thinking back to the baby name book I’d recently skimmed through. “But I think I prefer longer names so we can shorten it to something else like Grayson and Gray.”
Chris nodded in agreement as he looked very deep in thought.
“What about Olivia?” He suggested a moment later. “We could shorten it to Liv.”
“I don’t really like Liv,” I admitted, wrinkling my nose. “I do like Olivia, but she would naturally get called Liv and I don’t like that.”
Chris accepted my reservations openly and without taking offense and I was relieved, but not surprised. Even when we were trying to think of a name for Grayson - when we weren’t together and things were somewhat strained between us - we’d done very well at being supportive and not taking it personally when we disagreed about certain names and I was glad that was continuing.
We had another person’s opinion to consider this time though and even though I knew that Chris and I would get the final say, we wanted him to be a part of it. He let us know that he wanted to be included too as he piped up with an idea.
“Jake!” Grayson blurted out so suddenly that it took us a moment to realize he was offering it up as a suggestion. “My friend Jake is really nice and maybe that name will make the baby nice too!”
I giggled at his reasoning as Chris answered him with a smile.
“I’m not sure Jake is a great name for a girl. Some names can be for boys or girls, but Jake isn’t really one of them.”
“Some boy names are cute for girls,” I agreed. “But I think Daddy’s right and it would get confusing, wouldn’t it? How would you know which Jake we were talking about if your best friend and your sister had the same name?”
“Oh, yeah,” Grayson nodded in understanding. “That is confusing!”
I smiled at his willingness to help before another name from the book popped into my head.
“What about Victoria?”
Chris immediately pulled a face and shook his head.
“I have a cousin named Victoria,” he told me. “And she’s…not a very nice person.”
I nodded and pulled out my phone to see if I could more name suggestions online when Grayson chimed in again.
“How about Ariel?” He said, his words dripping with as much sarcasm as a four year old could muster. “Because Daddy loves The Little Mermaid.”
I snorted out a laugh as Chris’ eyes widened at the judgement that had just been thrown at him before flashing me a smirk.
“It’s not a bad name,” he teased. “I could get used to that.”
“No one would be surprised, but I think that’s a bit much,” I rolled my eyes. “Besides, Ariel Evans doesn’t sound right to me.”
“I dunno,” Chris grinned. “I think we should keep that one on the short list for sure.”
Now it was my turn to pull a face and Chris laughed as Grayson’s expression matched mine.
“I was just joking,” he insisted. “That’s silly, Daddy.”
“It is silly,” I agreed. “I think we’ll have to take some more time and give it a lot more thought before we decide.”
“Alright, alright, I guess we can keep thinking about it,” Chris relented with a smirk. “I mean, I’m gonna keep Ariel in mind, but maybe we’ll have to wait and see what suits her when she’s born.”
“That’s true, but I would prefer to have a few options lined up,” I told him. “I don’t want her to be nameless for too long while we decide.”
Chris agreed and we all promised to keep it in the back of our minds until we could come up with a name that everyone liked.
-
Despite that decision, I couldn’t stop pondering about a name. Grayson’s had come so easily, but it seemed like I could think of far more girl names that I didn’t like than those that I did. It wasn’t until I was relaxing in the bathtub later that evening after Grayson was in bed that it hit me. As I repeated it softly to myself, I knew in my heart that it was the perfect name and I leapt from the bath as fast as I safely could, needing to share it with Chris as soon as possible. I was terrified that he would shoot it down, but I loved it so much that I really couldn’t see how he would have any arguments. I dried myself off quickly before borrowing his bathrobe and rushing into our bedroom where he was relaxing on the bed watching TV.
“You okay?” He questioned, an amused smile on his face as I burst into the room. “You look kinda frantic.”
“I’ve thought of a name!” I announced. “And please, think it over before you shoot it down because I really think it’s perfect and it’s okay if you disagree, but give it a chance, okay?”
“Of course,” he nodded, muting the TV and sitting up to give me his full attention. “What’s the name?”
I took a deep breath and flashed him a smile.
“Isabella Mae Evans.”
I could see Chris taking it in and I was relieved when he didn’t immediately disapprove, but found myself nervously cracking my knuckles as I waited for a response. He repeated it back to me as if testing out how it felt as it rolled off his tongue and I rushed to explain how I’d thought of it as if that would help sway him.
“I was thinking about what Grayson said - about how much you love The Little Mermaid - and while I don’t think particularly like the name Ariel, I know you also love Beauty and the Beast,” I hurried to get my words out. “Belle led me to Isabelle, but I think Isabella is kinda prettier, but her nickname could still be Belle and that could be your little Disney tribute.”
Chris chuckled at my somewhat rambled explanation, but shook his head.
“I don’t need there to be a Disney tribute in our daughter’s name,” he assured me. “I was just joking earlier when Gray suggested that.”
“I know you don’t need it,” I smiled. “But I thought you might like it.”
“Honestly?” Chris grinned at me, making my heartbeat pause as the anticipation of what he was going to say next had my palms sweating. “I love it. Disney connection aside, I think Isabella is a perfect name.”
I felt my whole body relax with relief as I quickly crawled across the bed to throw my arms around Chris. It was a slightly awkward angle at first, but he chuckled and pulled me so my legs were draped over his lap with his arms around my waist as he leaned down to place a kiss on my lips.
“I’m so glad you like it. As soon as I thought of it, it just felt right and I would have been so disappointed if you hated it..”
“I love it,” he repeated. “I like the Mae part too, where did that come from?”
I felt myself grow a little sheepish as I worried that he wouldn’t like it so much after I explained. I was definitely open to changing it if necessary, but I felt like it had a nice ring to it and it was a tribute of my own that was fairly important.
“It’s Hannah’s middle name,” I admitted. “Grayson has your name as his middle name and I don’t really want to use mine - nothing really feels like it goes with it anyway - but Hannah’s like a sister to me so I thought it could be a little nod to her. I know you guys have a rocky relationship so I know you might not approve, but it would mean a lot to me and it does sound nice with Isabella.”
Again, I felt myself fill with relief as Chris smiled and nodded his head.
“It does sound nice,” he agreed. “And I think that’s a nice idea.”
I stretched up to place another kiss on his lips as I felt a wave of love and adoration towards him wash over me.
“Thank you,” I murmured against his lips before pulling away. “She’s done a lot for me over the years, she’s got my back no matter what and I know that she will absolutely always be there for our kids. Plus, she’s the one who convinced me that having another baby wasn’t a terrifying and awful idea so it just feels right.”
“You don’t need to justify it,” Chris assured me as he slid one of his hands into my robe to rub my bump in the mindless way he did whenever we were close enough. “I think it’s a sweet idea and it works perfectly.”
“I’m so glad you agree,” I grinned, moving my hand down to cover his. “Our little Isabella Mae.”
“I can’t wait to meet her.”
Chris lifted his eyes to meet mine with a look on his face that made it clear he felt like the luckiest man in the world. And in that moment, I felt exactly the same.
All my earlier fears and panic seemed so unnecessary because I knew in my heart that the amount of love that Chris and I already had for our daughter and the amount of support that we had from everyone who loved us would get us through almost anything. It wouldn’t always be easy - her and I might not always see eye to eye and we might not always agree with the choices she made in life - but with so many people in her corner, I had no doubt that she was going to be just fine and we’d get through the journey together as a family.

Note: I’ve had the name picked out for so long! Please let me know what you think about it! :)

7 Weeks
You hope they have his eyes. Bright, blue and sparkling. You stare down at the three tests before you, all clear and unambiguously positive.
A laugh bubbles out of you, full of joy and absolutely thrilled as you think of how long you’ve been trying and waiting for this. How happy Bucky will be. How happy you are.
You hear your front door open and close which immediately makes you pick up one of the positive tests. “Bucky!” You call out in pure excitement, unwilling to wait and tell him the news any other day.
He barely has the chance to put his bag down before you’re jumping into his arms. Your legs wrap around his hips as his hands come up to grip your thighs and hold you up.
“Pretty girl.” He laughs as you pepper kisses across his face. “What’s got you so happy? I was only gone for three days!”
You pull back to look him in the eye. He’s watching you with a bemused smile which makes you giggle. He has no idea of the test in your right hand or the other two sitting in your shared bathroom.
“I’m pregnant.” You breathe out. His eyes trace over you as you bite down the smile threatening to break out on your face. You wrap an arm around his neck as you pull the hand holding the test in between the two of you. His eyes immediately snap to the test and you’re sure he can’t actually read it in this position, but you’re too excited to care.
He shakes his head in shock. “You’re pregnant?” He asks softly. There was a happy lilt to his tone that lets you know his silence isn’t anger or nerves but just him struggling to figure out if this is real.
You nod your head rapidly and can no longer hold back your smile. “Three tests. All of them say yes to there being a baby Barnes in eight or nine months.”
His smile appears slowly, but it’s beautiful and bright as he gently places you back on your feet. “Fuck.” He laughs before pulling you into a kiss.
It’s all smiles and one of the messiest kisses you’ve ever had, but definitely one of the best too. When he pulls back, he’s breathing heavily and he rests his forehead against yours. “I love you.” He whispers.
His look is full of unadulterated love and affection, a look you’re sure you’re returning tenfold. “I love you more.”
His hands move to your waist and he hoists you up again. “Not fucking possible, pretty girl.” He mumbles into your neck as he begins to press soft kisses to your skin.
10 Weeks.
Your foot is shaking anxiously on the edge of the exam table as your eyes filter around the room. You had been in this gynecologist office many times, but today you can’t help but feel anxious as you wait for your doctor. The nurse had already come in and done your pre-physical checks; Weight, blood pressure, and some questions.
Bucky leans forward and wraps his hand around your ankle gently. “Relax, pretty girl.” He’s pulled up the guest chair so it’s next to you as you two wait.
You chew on your nail nervously as you stare down at him. “What if I got your hopes up? What if it was a false positive?” You can’t help but feel like maybe you had jumped the gun in telling Bucky the day you had taken the test.
Bucky’s hand moves up your leg until it’s resting right above your knee. “Then I’ll take you home and we’ll try again. I have no problem with trying for babies with you, pretty girl.” His hand slides further up and you laugh as you push it away.
“Buck! I’m serious.” You groan. You hear footsteps outside your door and freeze before they fade away. “What if-“
“-Stop.” He says firmly. “I’m serious too. Then we try again. Maybe it’ll hurt for a while, but we'll get through it together.” He reaches up and pulls your hand away from your face before wrapping it in between both of his. “And I’m no doctor, but I’m sure three false positives is pretty rare.”
Your heads snap up as the door opens and your doctor steps in along with a nurse. She turns to you both with a bright smile as the nurse shuts the door softly.
“I hear somebody thinks they’re pregnant!” The nurse sits by the computer in the room as she comes to stand beside you.
You nod slowly. “Me.” You shake your head in embarrassment. “Obviously. I’m the one with the vagina.” You flinch, but can’t stop the words from tumbling out. “I took three tests and they all came out positive. He says false positives are pretty rare, but he’s also not a doctor or scientist. He didn’t even go to college-“ You’re rambling on out of nerves. “Sorry. That came out wrong. I love you.” You say quickly glancing at Bucky before looking back at your doctor.
Bucky laughs as she watches you with amused eyes. “He’s right though! False positives are far rarer than false negatives.” She pulls the stool towards your table and sits down next to you.
You let out a deep breath. “That’s good to know.” Bucky squeezes your hand gently in a relax, I told you.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, Mr. Barnes. I’m Dr. O.” She reaches her right hand across you, Bucky glances at you nervously before holding out his left hand to meet her. She doesn’t acknowledge the vibranium hand, just turns to look at you once the handshake is over. “I was so happy when my receptionist told me what your appointment was for, I know you two have been trying for awhile now.”
“We’re just going to ask a few questions, then determine the best course of action for finding out if you're pregnant. Depending on how far along we think you are we’ll either do an ultrasound or blood test.” She explains as she leans away from you.
You nod. “Sounds good.” It’s weird to have another person in the room besides your doctor and nurse, but Bucky’s presence is welcome. His hand in yours and thumb gently rubbing circles into your skin helps relax you as Dr. O talks.
“Let’s start with when you took the tests.” She looks over to the nurse who nods, hands ready to take notes as you speak.
You nod. “Around three weeks ago?” You look over at Bucky who nods. “We were out of town for a few days visiting a friend, so I booked the first appointment available after we got back.”
“Where did you go?” She laughs when you furrow your brows at her question. “I’m sorry! I’m nosy.”
You laugh gently at that. “Oh it’s fine! We went to Louisiana! One of Buck’s best friends is down there and we just love the area.” You explain.
She nods. “What made you take the tests? Mention anything like a missed period, morning sickness, any other symptoms.” She explains.
“I originally thought my period was late. I didn’t think anything of it until we reached the second month and then I realized it wasn’t late, I had missed two periods.” You explain as you think back to what made you get the tests that day. “But what really made me get the tests was I was planning on cooking for Buck, he was getting home from a work trip that day, and when I pulled out some of the ingredients I just felt so sick. It’s my favorite dish! The smell never bothers me, nothing in it bothers me, I was just so confused until I put two and two together and thought I should buy a test just to check.” You’re a little breathless as you finish and she’s nodding along as the computer keys clack away.
“That sounds like you’re anywhere from nine to eleven weeks!” She stands up. “We can definitely try a transabdominal ultrasound. We should be able to get a clearer date and maybe even hear a heartbeat.”
“Really?” You ask softly. You hadn’t expected to come in and hear or see your baby. You weren’t even sure if there was one. “We can… We can see the baby today?”
“If your dates are correct, then yes!” She gives you an excited smile as she pulls the small machine towards your bedside. “Or we can do a blood test. It’s up to you.”
“Oh, can we try the ultrasound? I would… That would make me feel better.” You admit, squeezing Bucky’s hand tightly. “Of course.” She agrees.
Bucky pulls his hand away from its resting spot on your stomach, but doesn’t release his grip on you. You pull up your shirt with one hand as she and the nurse move around the room. “This will be cold. Try not to move around too much.”
You flinch as the gel touches your stomach. “That is cold.” You murmur to Bucky as she pulls the wand towards you. He smiles up at you and it makes your cheeks warm.
“Okay.” She hums as she moves the wand around your stomach. You wait with baited breath in hopes of hearing a heartbeat come through. Your grip on Bucky’s hand gets tighter and tighter as the seconds tick by, but he doesn’t say a word in complaint.
Then there’s a loud thumping sound and Dr. O turns to you with a bright smile. “There we go! A nice, strong heartbeat.” She turns the screen so you and Bucky can see it clearly.
You and Bucky look at each and it’s like everything has fallen into place.
Bucky Barnes had never allowed himself to dream of this life. A wife, a house of his own, a baby; Bucky Barnes had never imagined his own family.
“Oh!” Both of your heads snap around the look at the doctor. “There’s two heartbeats.” She moves the wand around again and then there’s another steady thumping sound. “Baby A and Baby B.” She moves the wand back and forth so the two of you get a clearer picture.
When you look back at Bucky his eyes are brimming with tears, but there's a smile on his face that makes your heart race. So big that his eyes crinkle and you’re positive his cheeks hurt, but it makes you smile too.
“Twins.” You whisper to him. Everything else fades into the background as you two stare at each other. He nods and pulls your hand to his lips so he can press a kiss to it. “Twins.” He whispers back.
“I’ll print out some photos for you two.” Dr. O says quietly.
And… Bucky Barnes didn’t know if he still believed in God, but he would thank Him everyday for this miracle of a life he’s been granted. He would go through hell and back again if it meant he still got this life with you.
16 Weeks
“Do you think it’s a boy and a girl? Two boys? Two girls?” Your now nursery is painted white with one forest green wall. Bucky is sitting on the floor in the middle of the room working on the matching cribs as you lean against the door jam. “Should we have waited until we were further in to start all this?”
Bucky looks up at you and notices you chewing on the skin around your nail nervously as your eyes flicker around the half finished nursery. The walls had been painted when you had been gone for the day so you could stay away from the fumes. Bucky had started the cribs first, boxes of blankets, mattress pads and other small items were piled in the corner of the room.
“I thought you wanted it to be a surprise.” He puts down the screwdriver in his hand to focus his full attention on you. “And your doctor said the first twelve weeks held the highest risk for anything happening.”
You look down at him. “I know… I do want it to be a surprise… I just want to know what you think we’ll have. I think it’s boys.” You look down at your small, but there, bump. Your doctor had informed you that twins would most likely make gaining weight more likely and quicker than a single baby. You guess you just hadn’t expected the bump to show up so soon.
You hear Bucky stand and watch as he stumbles over all the spread out pieces of the cribs. “Listen.” He tilts your chin up towards him. “I can’t promise you this will be perfect, but I can promise you I’ll be here every step of the way.”
You reluctantly nod. Logically you knew he was right, you had taken all the necessary steps and precautions your doctor had suggested. You felt good, despite the uncomfortableness of growing two humans. “I know I’m being, like, anxious or whatever. I just… I want this so bad. I don’t know if I could survive if something happened.” You admit quietly, almost ashamed at the weight this feeling had left on your shoulders.
“Pretty girl.” Bucky murmurs sadly. “If anything ever happened, I would be here every step of the way. You’ve got my heart. You’re my life.” He rubs reassuring hands up and down your arms. “And if you ever felt like you were too far gone, I’d be there to pull you back.”
You feel your eyes tear as you look up at him. “Tell me what you think they’ll be. Boys. Girls.” You wrap your arms around his waist and step forward to rest your cheek against his chest. “Please.”
He wraps his arms around you in return and presses a kiss to your forehead. “I think we’re going to have girls.” He says softly, “And they’ll be beautiful like you. I hope they are. Your eyes, your hair, your pretty smile.” Bucky presses another gentle kiss to your forehead, you hum in response and he takes that as a hint to keep talking. “And smart like you too. I just want mini yous, pretty girl. If I could live my life surrounded by my girls, I would be content.”
His soft words and the steady sound of his heartbeat in your ear pressed against his chest has you calming immediately. You take a deep breath before pulling back to look at him. “I love you, Bucky. I am so lucky that you’re my husband.”
You can feel Bucky’s laugh and it makes you smile. “Pretty girl, I’m the lucky one. I never thought I’d have this. Buying a house and building cribs and picking out baby clothes.”
“Buck-'' You try to interrupt him, but he shakes his head and you shut your mouth. Instead you smile up at him softly as he continues speaking.
“I never thought I could be loved like this.” He leans down and gently nudges his nose against yours. You close your eyes and do the same. “But I’m so happy I have it.”
You have to admit, when Bucky Barnes had come into your life with harsh stares and an intimidating presence, you had never imagined this would be the life you would have with him.
“I love you pretty girl.” He declares, voice strong and full of love, before dropping to his knees in front of you. You laugh as his hands land gently on your stomach. “And I love you, babies Barnes.”
“Babies Barnes?” You ask with a small smile. “That’s what we’re calling them now?”
Bucky looks up at you with a shining smile. “We’ll talk names later, I think Babies Barnes sounds good for now.”
You rest one of your hands on his and run your other hand through his hair as he talks quietly to your stomach. “What about the Barnes Babies?” You murmur. “Sounds better.”
20 Weeks
“Bucky.” You call from your spot on the floor in the center of the nursery. You were in the middle of folding clothes. Most of the items were matching and you had been slowly but surely separating them out and into the two separate dressers. “Bucky!” You call again, raising your voice just a little more.
There are heavy footsteps as Bucky rushes up the stairs. “What? What’s wrong?” He asks from the doorway while his eyes flicker around the room panicked. You feel a little guilty when you notice his shoulders relax at the sight of you fine on the floor. “Why are you down there?’
“I’m organizing the baby clothes.” You answer in a matter of fact tone. Bucky opens his mouth to say something, but you cut him off already knowing what it’ll be. “I’m fine down here! I’m not in any more danger down here than I am sitting on the couch.” You look around the almost finished nursery. “You’ll just have to help me up later.” You look back up at him a little embarrassed.
Bucky comes and kneels down beside you. You let out a relieved sigh as he runs his knuckle against your cheek gently. “What did you need, pretty girl?’ He asks with a knowing smile.
“I’m starving.” You throw your head back in an overdramatic groan. “I would kill for some oreos…” You think for a moment. “Do we still have the kraft macaroni and cheese?”
Bucky scrunches his nose up in disgust, but nods. “Please don’t ask me to mix those together.”
“I wasn’t!” You slap a hand against his chest. It makes him shake a little in his kneeling position, but he stays upright. “I want them separately. But I do want both. Please, Buck? You always make the macaroni and cheese so perfectly! I always mess it up.” You put on your best puppy dog eyes and pout your lips.
He throws his head back in a laugh. “You don’t need to do all that, pretty girl.” He snorts. He kisses your cheek before standing up. “I would do anything you asked me to.”
“Even bring me a glass or cherry Dr. Pepper with it?” You weren’t a huge soda person normally, but you had tried a sip of the drink when you and Bucky had gone out to dinner and it had become one of your biggest cravings.
“Especially that.” He grins at you before spinning on his heel to retreat back downstairs. “Thank you!” You call out. “Call me if you need me!” He yells back and you smile to yourself. You place a hand on your stomach and look down.
“That was your daddy.” You say softly. You rub gentle circles over your loose t-shirt. “He loves you two so much already. We love you two so much. We just can’t wait for you to get here.” You admit. Talking to your stomach has become a habit of yours. Your doctor had explained babies will usually respond to noise when they can start hearing and while she had assured you kicking with twins may take a little longer, you were desperate to feel them move around.
You glance at the door before looking back down. “He’s been so much help. I’d read horror stories about husbands who are never home or who don’t take up cooking and cleaning. But your daddy just… does it all for me.” Your voice has taken on a tone of pure love as you talk to your babies about Bucky. “He built your cribs. Rubs my feet. Cooks me disgusting children’s food.” You giggle quietly. “I’m so happy I get to build you two a home full of love and-” You jump when you feel a gentle kick against your hand. “No way.” You whisper.
“Bucky!” You yell out shakily. “Bucky! Bucky! Bucky!” You don’t think of the panic you could be making him feel as you stare down at your stomach with happy tears in your eyes. Bucky’s by your side in an instant, his hand coming to rest over yours and his eyes observing your face in a frenzied panic.
“What’s wrong? What hurts?” He asks anxiously. You shake your head and move his hand so it’s resting underneath your own instead of on top. “What? Christ, pretty girl! Is every-”
“Just talk to them.” You say quietly. “About anything.” Your urge.
Bucky looks at you questioningly, but settles next to you when you nod. “Okay…” He says quietly. “Um,” he glances at you, “I’m so excited for you two to be here.” He starts a little nervously. You squeeze his hand in reassurance. “I never thought I would have my own baby, let alone twins, with such a knockout.” He laughs when you roll your eyes. “I never thought I could love anybody this much, then I met your mom. Then she told me she was gonna have you guys and I… I knew that I would do anything if it meant I got to keep all this love in my li-” He cuts himself off and looks at you with wide eyes.
“Did you feel it?” You ask softly. Bucky moves his hand over a little and lets out a wet laugh. “That’s... That’s fucking amazing.” He presses a kiss to your lips. “You’re fucking amazing.”
The two of you can’t stop staring at each, certainly looking like some smiling fools, until Bucky’s eyes widen and he yanks himself away. “You’re macaroni and cheese!” He yells as he stumbles out of the room leaving you doubling over in laughter.
26 Weeks
“When she said twins,” You pause as you take a deep breath, “I didn’t think she meant everything would be so much worse.” Bucky laughs as you settle on the couch next to him. He holds his arms up as he waits for you to rest your feet in his lap.
He immediately begins to rub your feet as you turn the movie on. “What hurts?” He asks softly. His eyes trail over you like he expects a wound, something easily fixable, so he could better help you.
You give him a gentle smile. “My feet. My back. I’m just uncomfortable, Buck.” You explain. You knew he felt bad that there wasn’t much he could do besides sit next to you and rub your feet and legs. “I don’t think I realized how fast things move when it’s two babies growing inside you instead of just one.”
“I wish I could do more.” He says quietly as he massages your left foot. His vibranium hand is cool against your skin and offers some relief from the heat you felt was taking over. You know he’s unsure of what to say or do to help and that he didn’t want to say the wrong thing, but, “All I need is this, Buck.” You poke his thigh with your right foot.
When he looks over at you questioningly, you smile. “I’m gonna be totally honest with you here, Bucky. There’s not much you can do to help me now, or the next few months, except keep rubbing my feet, helping around the house and keep calling me pretty girl.”
He pinches your ankle. “For years you’ve told me you didn’t like that nickname.” There’s no malice or annoyance in his voice. Bucky knows as well as you do that although you may roll your eyes or laugh when he calls you that, you hate when he calls you anything else.
Especially now. “Makes me feel good.” You shrug as nonchalantly as you can. “I’m gaining weight like crazy. I’m swollen and cranky, it’s nice to know you still think I’m your pretty girl.” You admit shyly.
“I always think you’re pretty, my love.” You feel your neck heat at his words and his hand coming to rest on your thigh. “But… fuck… I don’t know if there’s anything as beautiful as watching you grow our children. I’m in awe of you everyday, pretty girl.” His eyes are lit up with passion. You laugh as he moves towards you. “I am so in love with you, it’s crazy. I just... I can barely keep my hands to myself half the time.”
You cup his jaw with your hand and your nails lightly scratching at his beard. “Don’t threaten me with a good time, Bucky Barnes.” You murmur as he leans in towards you. “Cause I’ll make you follow through.”
He groans before pressing a kiss to your lips. “Come on, pretty girl. Come to bed. I think I know a way to make you feel a little better.” He whispers against your lips. You nod with an excited giggle as he stands and holds a hand out to you.
32 Weeks
“I appreciate you guys coming out to see us.” You press a kiss to Sam’s cheek before moving to hug Wanda who was trailing into your house behind him. “We didn’t want a huge baby shower, but we did want to see some of our closest friends and it means so much you all came out!” You gush.
Wanda presses a kiss to your cheek before standing back and looking at you excitedly. “Oh, you look beautiful.” She says kindly, her eyes trailing over your now much larger bump. “Twins.” She murmurs wistfully as your hands grip hers tightly.
“Oh, Wanda…” You trail off, suddenly feeling guilty for your pushful invitation to your closest friends. She shakes her hand with a bright smile. “None of that! I’m so excited for you and Bucky. I’ve never met two more deserving people.” She presses another kiss to your cheek as she moves past you. “Now where is your husband?”
“In the backyard!” You laugh. “He’s working on grilling. We have drinks and snacks out there!” You push her and Sam towards the sliding door in your kitchen. Steve slips through your front door next, a bright smile on his face when he realizes it’s you who’s greeting him.
“You look lovely.” He says kindly as he leans down to press a kiss to your head. “Bucky has spent hours on the phone talking about how beautiful you look, but still didn’t do you justice.”
“You charmer!” You squeeze his arm as you laugh. “He’s outside. I’ll give you fifty bucks if you say something just as sweet to him.” Steve shakes his head with an ill-suppressed smile. “Come on! I’ll add an extra twenty if you kiss him too.” You plead. You and Bucky had been so busy with preparations, neither of you had seen your friends in a long time. You were in desperate need of a laugh with everyone.
Steve shakes his head, but he turns to you and winks when he goes to open the sliding door, which makes you smile largely.
You greet a few more friends; Rhodey who comes with a gentle smile and gifts from Pepper despite your warning against them. He has a nervous Peter Parker in tow, who adored you but was still terrified of Bucky despite it having been years since their fight.
“For you.” He smiles sweetly. He’s gotten more handsome as he’s gotten older, more confident too, but he still turns red when you press a kiss to his cheek as you thank him for the small box he has handed over. You laugh as he rushes after Rhodey, face down in an attempt to hide the blush.
You were unsure when the Avengers had become your family too. Bucky had brought you around eight months into your relationship and they had taken you in easily. Bucky says your light filled a void after all the darkness they had suffered. You shook him off, but the words always made your heart soar. If you were even just a small piece of their healing, you were happy.
An arm wraps around your waist and you smile when you smell Bucky’s cologne. “Funny joke with Steve, pretty girl.” He whispers against the shell of your ear.
“I thought so.” You shiver. “Did he kiss you too? Please tell me he did!” You turn and look up at him with pleading eyes. Bucky laughs before reluctantly nodding. “That’s incredible.” You move away from your spot in the entrance and hold onto Bucky’s arm as he leads you towards the backyard. “Give him seventy dollars sometime today, please.”
“What?” Bucky stops in his tracks, making you freeze too. “For what?”
You look up at him innocently. “For making your severely pregnant wife laugh.” Bucky slides the door open with a shake of his head and gestures for you to go out first. You smile gratefully and step out.
Your friends are spread out in the small yard. Sam has taken over the grill, while Steve is deep in conversation with Rhodey and Wanda. Peter chatters away as Sam nods along his eyes glazed over.
“Thank you for planning this.” You slip your hand into the crook of Bucky’s elbow as the two of you make your way into the group. “I didn’t realize how much I missed everyone with how busy we’ve been.”
“Anything for you, pretty girl.” He says softly. “Everyone loves you, it wasn’t hard to convince them to make the trip to come see you.”
“You sure know how to make a girl feel special.” You tease. Bucky laughs and presses a kiss to your cheek before going to join Sam at the grill. You meet Steve, Wanda and Rhodey with a smile.
“We were just talking about names.” Steve quickly stands up from the chair he had been lounging in. You shake your head with narrowed eyes. “Sit down.” He orders, it’s not harsh, but he’s taken on a completely different tone of voice that makes you giggle. You glance at Wanda with comical, wide eyes before taking the seat.
“I like it when you use your Captain's voice.” You glance at Wanda in thanks when she hands over a glass of water. “I never got to hear it. We met after you retired!” Steve’s cheeks turn a bright shade of red as Rhodey and Wanda laugh. “Anyways, tell me about the names!”
Wanda starts. “Bucky told us you two wanted to find out the gender when you give birth, so we each came up with two names for each of the three scenarios. I was given the one girl, one boy scenario.” She explains quickly her hand waving around in front of her excitedly.
“And what did you come up with?” You ask in amusement, but also with a little curiosity. You and Bucky had briefly discussed names, both floating around ideas when they appeared, but nothing had been chosen yet. Maybe one of your friends would have a good name idea.
Wanda claps. “I chose Oliver George Barnes if it’s a boy! Oh, I think Oliver is such a lovely name. And then the baby has Bucky’s dad’s name too. A little bit of old and new.” She explains and you nod along. “And for a girl, Elena Rebecca Barnes.”
You furrow your brows at her. “How do you know so much about Buck’s family’s names?” A light blush colors her cheeks. “I may have visited the Bucky Barnes page on the Smithsonian website in preparation.” She admits.
“Okay Rhodey, hit me!” You turn so you can look at him. He sits up a little straighter. “For two girls. Baby girl number one, Olivia Rose Barnes” You scrunch your nose up at the middle name. “And for girl number two, Eloise Ann Barnes.” Your eyes widen at the suggestion. You had expected him to just repeat your name back to you.
“I… I actually kind of like Eloise.” You admit after a moment. “Little El.” One of your hands comes to rest on your stomach. You look up at Steve with a smile. “Hit me with the two boys' names, Rogers.”
Steve glances over at Bucky and Sam before stepping towards you conspiratorially. “Samuel James Barnes and Theodore George Barnes.” You look over at Bucky and your eyes meet his. You smile softly when he waves you over.
“Those are lovely, Steve.” You hold your hand out for him and he helps you stand. “I… I will tell Buck about all of these names. I love them all.” You say gratefully before slowly making your way towards the grill.
Bucky’s arm wraps around your waist as soon as you’re beside him. “What are you four whispering about over there, pretty girl?” He asks quietly as Sam and Peter begin to bring the plates of food over to the table Bucky had set up earlier.
You glance back at Sam to make sure he’s out of hearing distance. “Baby names! Buck, Steve came up with Samuel James Barnes. I just love it.” Bucky’s already shaking his head with a frown. “What?” You ask.
“I’m not naming our son after me and Sam.” He glances back at the group who has come together at the table. Wanda and Steve wave you two over and you hold up a finger in response before looking back at Bucky. “What were the girls names?” He asks.
You shrug. “Olivia Rose, Eloise Ann, and Elena Rebecca.” None of the names hit a particular chord with you, but you could admit they were all very pretty. “I like Eleanor, I think.” You admit as Bucky mulls the names over.
“That’s a pretty name.” He says softly. “Eleanor Rebecca Barnes.” He adds on and a smile breaks out on your face. You lean up and he meets you halfway in a gentle kiss. When you pull back he rests his forehead against yours.
“Did we just pick a baby name?” You whisper in shock. Bucky’s eyes crinkle as he smiles excitedly. “I think we did, pretty girl.”
38 Weeks
At first you think they’re just kicking. They’d been doing it more and more the further along you got. You groan and shift around in bed as quietly as possible trying not to wake Bucky.
You take a few deep breaths as you try to drift off into sleep, but a shooting pain hits you and your arm whips out and your hand grips Bucky’s shirt.
You gasp. “Bucky.” You pull at his shirt in an attempt to wake him. You whine in pain and begin to pull harder. “Bucky!” You say a little louder.
You feel him begin to wake under your palm. “What’s up, pretty girl?” He mumbles into his pillow, still not looking over at you.
The pain rips through you again and this time you yank at his shirt violently. “James Buchanan Barnes if you don’t get the fuck up, I will murder you.”
That has him turning to look at you with wide eyes. His eyes scan over you and pause on the hand sitting on your stomach before they trail up to your face scrunched up in pain.
“Oh shit.” He stumbles out of the bed and comes around to your side. You turn to look up at him with pleading eyes and notice the pure panic in his. “Um- Okay.” He stands up straight and takes a few deep breaths.
Another contraction hits. “Take your time.” You grit out as you try to breathe through it. “Not like I’m having a fucking baby here.”
“Shut up.” He laughs as he leans down to gently grip your arm. “Did your water break?” He asks as he helps your stand.
You look down at the mattress then the floor before shaking your head. “Not yet, but these really hurt I-“
“Don’t have to explain yourself to me, pretty girl.” He helps you around the room and into the bathroom and helps you sit on top of the toilet lid. “You don’t have pants on, what should I grab for you to wear?”
You glance down at your bare thighs, you hadn’t really realized. “A dress! Just grab a dress, I can slip into it.” You murmur as you rest your forehead against the tiled wall next to you.
Bucky disappears and you count to yourself as you breathe through your pain. “I’m okay. I’m okay.” You murmur. They were early, two weeks early, but Dr. O had warned you that multiples liked to make surprise appearances.
“A dress.” Bucky stands in front of you with one of your maternity sun dresses. He helps you stand again and you take it from his hands.
“Go put on pants, I can get the dress on myself.” Bucky looks hesitant at the suggestion even though all he’s got on is a t-shirt and boxers. “Buck. Please. The sooner we’re both ready the sooner we can go.”
He nods and sprints out of the bathroom and back into the bedroom. You slide the t-shirt you had fallen asleep in off and pull the dress over your body. You let out a sigh of relief at the fact that Bucky had chosen one of the stretchy cotton dresses and not one of your nicer maternity ones. You brush your teeth quickly and splash some water on your face.
“Bucky.” You cry out when you feel the rush of water between your legs.
“Let’s go.” Bucky appears in the doorway with sweatpants and his jacket pulled haphazardly over his shirt. He freezes when he notices your problem. He doesn’t say anything, just disappears then reappears with clean underwear for you. He helps you out of the bathroom and into the bedroom again then helps you change again. “Let’s go.” He says softly with a gentle kiss to your temple.
It’s all a blur from there. Bucky’s grabbing your go bag, leading you to the car and driving you to the hospital.
“She’s having our babies.” Bucky blurts out to the receptionist once the two of you reach the neonatal ward. She smiles pacifingly at him before looking at you with concern. “Sit her down, sir.” She orders and Bucky helps you sit in one of the uncomfortable waiting room chairs.
“She should be in a bed right?” Bucky asks worriedly looking back and forth between you and her.
“One of the nurses is going to bring a wheel cheer so we can bring her to her room.” She explains kindly. “I just need your names and your doctor’s name.”
You block Bucky’s voice out as another contraction hits. “Fuck, fuck fuck.” You cry. “B - A - R - N -E-S.” Bucky glances back at you at the sound of your cry. “Her doctor is Dr. O.” The woman hums as her fingers fly across the keyboard.
There’s a gentle hand on your shoulder that makes you look up. “I’m Natalie.” The woman smiles kindly. “I’m gonna bring you to your room, okay?”
You nod slowly with tears in your eyes. You’re tired and uncomfortable and the pain keeps getting worse and worse. “Let’s get you up, mama.” She helps you stand slowly and guides you to the wheelchair waiting by the doors.
You glance back at Bucky, who’s still talking with the receptionist and scribbling answers on the clipboard she had slid over to him. “My husband. I need Bucky. I-“
“They’ll bring him back as soon as he’s done with the paperwork.” She rubs your shoulder calmingly. “I promise all we’re gonna do is get you in bed.”
You take a deep breath as she pushes you down the hall and away from Bucky. “I can’t do this without him.” You’re breathing heavily as the contractions hit you. “I need him. Please. Can’t he do paperwork later? It’s not like I can leave!” You cry out.
She gently moves you from the wheelchair to the hospital bed. “We’ll wait until your husband, Bucky, right?” She asks as she pushes you back so you’re laying down. You give her a teary eyed nod. “We’ll wait until Bucky is here to help change you into your gown.” She murmurs reassuringly.
There’s a knock on the door and then Bucky is rushing in with another nurse trailing after him. “I’m pretty sure half the answers on that paperwork are illegible but…” The nurse trails off with an amused smile.
“Hey, pretty girl.” Bucky pushes back the stray hairs that are sticking to your sweaty forehead before giving you a kiss. “I’m here. What do you need?”
“It’s up to you, mama.” Natalie places the hospital gown on the edge of your bed. “If you want us or your husband to help you into the gown.” She gives you a knowing smile.
“Can we…” You take a deep breath. “Can we have a moment?” They nod and leave the room. You look up at Bucky with teary eyes. “I don’t think I can do this, Buck.” You admit.
He helps you sit up while shaking his head. “Yes you can, pretty girl.” He murmurs reassuringly. He lifts your dress so it scrunches up at your hips and waits until you raise your arms so he can take it off completely. He picks the pink gown up and slides it over your held out arms.
“How do you know that?” You wipe hastily at the tears streaming down your face as Bucky moves around the tie the gown in the back. He helps you lay back down before slipping his shoes off and crawling in beside you.
You moan in relief when he starts rubbing gentle circles over your stomach and as his warmth envelopes you. Bucky presses gentle kisses to your neck and jaw. “I know because you are the strongest woman I know.” He whispers. “You have been growing these humans in your uterus for almost nine months. And you’ve done it without flinching. This isn’t gonna be what takes you out, pretty girl.”
There’s a gentle knock on the door and your nurse comes back in with a soft smile, followed by Dr. O and two more people. “Who’s ready to have some babies?” Dr. O asks with a bright smile.
You look up at Bucky, who can’t do anything but stare at you in awe, then nod. “We are.”
Twelve and a Half Hours Later
“I don’t think I could be any more in love with you.” Bucky declares as the nurses dance about the room, cleaning your crying babies up. “Shut up.” You murmur tiredly. “I wanna see my babies.” They’ve been checking and cleaning for what felt like forever.
“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Barnes.” The two nurses come over with little bundles in their arms. “You have two healthy babies, a boy and a girl.” You look up at Bucky with bright eyes as the nurse hands him the blue bundle.
Your eyes move away as the pink bundle is gently handed over to you. “Hello.” You whisper softly at the fidgeting baby. You can’t stop the tears from streaming down your cheeks as you down at your baby girl. Completely healthy and absolutely beautiful. “Eleanor Rebecca Barnes.” You murmur, running a gentle finger over her cheek.
“Pretty girl.” Bucky’s voice is wet and you look up to see tears on his cheeks too. You scoot over and make room for him to sit beside you again for the first time in hours. He sits as slowly as he can and then looks over at the baby in your arms as you glance at the baby in his. “Hello, Eleanor.” Bucky whispers to the little girl.
There’s a knock at the door that has the two of you snapping your heads up. You see the balloons first and then Steve and Sam behind them.
“Boys.” You whisper happily. Bucky nods them into the room. They come to stand in front of your bed as quietly as they can. “Meet Eleanor Rebecca Barnes and,” you and Bucky glance at each other with soft smiles, “and Steven Samuel Barnes.” He finishes for you.
Their eyes snap to you two in shock. “What?” Sam asks after a moment of silence. “You… You said you would never name a baby after me.” He’s getting choked up as he stares at Bucky in betrayal.
“Yeah, well.” Bucky shakes his head. “You’re uh… You’re one of my best friends.” He looks over at Steve. “You’re both some of my best friends. And uh… I wouldn’t.” He sniffles and you lean your head in his shoulder in an attempt to give him comfort.
He presses a kiss to your hair before he looks back at the boys. “I wouldn’t have all this if you two hadn’t stuck your necks out on the line for me. If you two hadn’t kept looking for me.”
“Buck, you built this life all on your own.” Steve says gently.
Bucky shakes his head fondly. “I know that, punk. I got the girl and the house and the babies all on my own. But I wouldn’t have even had the chance without you two so…” He trails off before looking back down at the babies you two held in your arms.
“Can I take a picture?” Sam asks, pulling his phone out of his pocket. You two nod excitedly and look up at the camera with tired but thrilled smiles. “Beautiful family, Buck. You two should be proud.”
“Oh, Steve, grab a nurse or someone in the hallway please!” You plead. “I want a picture of all of us!” He obliges without a fight. although you’re sure right now nobody would pick a fight or say no to you.
One of your nurses comes back in with him. “Okay! Just a couple pictures then I gotta kick you two out. Mama needs her rest.”
You all nod in acceptance as Steve and Sam come to stand on either side of you and Bucky. “One...Two...Three!” She snaps the picture and turns the phone around to show you.
Your heart all but jumps out of your chest at how sweet it looks. “I love it. Thank you.” She hands the phone back to Sam and ushers the two men out. Sam calling over his shoulder, “We’ll come back tomorrow!”
You and Bucky laugh. “My heart is so full right now.” You whisper.
“I love you, pretty girl.” Bucky whispers in response. “I love our family.” You can’t do anything but nod. “I love you too. I love our family.”
The two of you sit in silence as you bask in the glow of your family.

A/N: Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and a VERY Happy Holiday no matter your culture’s festivities! This is part of my collab with my lovely friends in The Sewer Server- @rat-suki ty anu for organizing it all! I’m love u. This fic was written in an eggnog & fireball induced blackout, and is singlehandedly fueled by lust for Osamu’s Dorito body and my love for Steak n’ Shake.
Cheese-on’s Greetings Collab mlist here 🎄🎁🐁
“This... is it?” He cocked an eyebrow at the concoction, the red and green sprinkles bleeding dye into the whipped cream, the sad cherry on top sunken into it.
“This is what you’ve been goin’ on about fer the last 3 weeks?”
This- was an eggnog milkshake. A wintertime classic, and a staple at the local diner in your hometown. Simple enough. It didn’t look like much- in fact, it honestly wasn't. But to you, this shitty, artificially-flavored diner milkshake encompassed all the joys of holiday magic into one tall, frosted glass. You could count the years you spent in this diner, knocking them back. You’ve grown of course, but the nostalgia always stays the same. Having Osamu come to your hometown for the holidays was a pretty big step in your relationship, sure, but including him in the milkshake tradition usually reserved for your best friend? That was even bigger.
“You haven’t even taken a sip, you ass,” you giggled, putting your own straw to your lips, reveling in the cool flavor that was coating your tongue. Pure sugar, just a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon- perfect as always. You pushed the glass over to him, urging him to try for himself. He took in a large drink, letting it rest before clicking his tongue a few times and looking over at your eyes- eyes that were aglow with anticipation and gingerbread men? No, that was just the reflection of the gaudy tinsel that adorned the booth you sat in.
“Soooo?”
“Not bad,” he sighed, pushing the glass back your way. Always anticlimactic.
“But I could definitely make one that’s better.”
“I’d like to see you try,” you shot back, narrowing your eyes at him.
One thing you knew he could never resist was a challenge. Grabbing his wallet, he slammed some bills on the table, whisking you away from the diner in 2 minutes flat, the milkshake an ever present memory, like that of the favorite Christmas gift from childhoods passed. You didn’t think he’d take it that seriously, but you also knew that Osamu took everything- especially food- seriously.
Even still, the drive back to your parents’ was a calm one, like every night adventure. The only difference was the bitter cold in the air, and the soft crooning of songs about Santa Claus on the radio. The only thing was- you just couldn’t stop pressing your thighs together….
“Put it away, sir.” you said jokingly, shifting your current position on the couch. Miracle on 34th Street shown on the small screen of the television as you flicked through what seemed like every Christmas movie ever made with the remote. The feeling of his cock starting to stiffen at your back told you everything you needed to know; that Osamu wasn’t interested in whether or not Santa Claus was real, or whatever the ‘true’ meaning of Christmas was- he was solely interested in the meaning of that which currently resided between your legs.
A sneaky had drifted under your shirt, breath hitching in your throat as his thick fingers rolled one of your nipples, the soft tugging leaving you mewling as the sensation traveled down to your now throbbing clit. You leaned into it for a split second, but you were bought back to reality by the sight of your family’s Christmas photos on the fireplace mantle. There was no way in hell you could get fucked in front of a photo of your grandmother. You swatted Osamu’s hand away.
“We can NOT do this right now-” your words fell on deaf ears as his hand snaked up your thigh, leaving a trail of warmth in its wake as he settled them right above your stomach, fiddling with the drawstrings of your shorts.
“My mom and dad are literally upstairs….” The words left your mouth faintly your body lurching toward him.
Again, you tried. A valiant attempt. It wasn’t a lie- they most certainly were upstairs, presumably fast asleep, as they had been up there for almost two hours now, leaving you and Osamu to watch a few corny Christmas movies- or so they thought. But he saw through your objections. Hearing the way your voice softened, seeing how your chest wavered as he got closer and closer to your face, he simply couldn’t contain himself.
“It’s not my fault ‘ya wanted to stay here,” he huffed, large hands seizing your own, pushing away their protests as he passed his thumb up and down your clothed slit. You bit your lip in an effort to silence the moan that was bubbling its way up and out of your mouth. You had started to become feverish, your own state of vulnerability apparent as Osamu used one arm to pin your wrists above your head, sending your lower half flailing and bucking up into his free hand as you whimpered desperately for his touch.
“You want it, don’t ya, little love?” Little love. The one pet name you could never resist. Almost like a switch, you moaned a particularly needy, not-so-hushed “hmmhm- yes, daddy,” that definitely would have blown your cover. Luckily, Osamu’s thick fingers worked their way into your mouth to silence you, your lips immediately wrapping around them and obediently sucking to heed his words.
“Just be s’quiet as possible,” his hushed tone came out in a low baritone. He pressed a finger to his lips, pointing another up toward the ceiling from the couch of your parents living room.
Keeping your arms restrained, your boyfriend’s free hand pushed past your layers of clothes, your saliva coated his fingers, providing just enough slickness to enter your hole with ease, gently curling against that soft spot right inside. You were so warm, so needy, easily molding into his touch as he watched your eyes widen within his. You fixed your mouth to open, but it hung there as his fingers worked, your cunt sucking them in manically.
“F-fuck,” you could barely manage that. “Please I-hmph- please…”
“Use yer words, little love,” he cooed, the tone of his voice was sickeningly slow as he teased you, slowing his fingers down. You bucked your hips in protest, pouting and wiggling underneath him to feel some form of friction.
“Stop Squirmin’.” His demeanor shifted immediately, darkening at your perceived disobedience. The hands that held your wrists met your throat, a half gasp escaping you as he gently squeezed, your face softening into a pout.
“I said- use yer words.”
“Please, please fuck me,” you squeaked. “F-fill me up.”
“Then we gotta find a way t’keep ya nice n’ still. Will you be good fer me?”
You nodded. You always were. Osamu’s ability to render you a compliant, malleable toy for him to fuck was astounding. You could spend the rest of your life being his obedient little thing without a care in the world or a complaint.
“I know ya will,” he pressed a kiss to your lips. “My little love’s always s’good…”
You knew you were in for it- but you didn’t expect this. It was a little different from your normal setup, but at the same time, the rush of excitement built in the pit of your stomach just as it did the first time ‘Samu ever bound you. It just so happened that there were some discarded lights nearby the Christmas tree. You could see the glimmer of an idea in his eyes as he plugged them in, smiling as the glow lit up his face. He looked at you on the couch and wiggled his eyebrows- as much as you wanted to laugh out loud, you weren’t in the position to be picky about your rigging tonight. You had to make do.
“It’s…. festive?” You could tell that even he was amused. But amusement aside, the desire that built between you, the stored tension of having not touched each other for almost two days now was clearly screaming to be addressed. His large hands made a bite in the wiring of the lights and they quickly found themselves around your wrists, the illumination beautiful, but also kind of blinding this close to your face. With a kiss to your lips, he moved from your wrists and down toward your torso, trailing an interesting track of holiday cheer into a harness around your chest and tying in your back. Your arms were bent forward at the elbow, snugly enough so that you could wiggle your fists, but your wrists were of no use.
Pushing you onto your knees, you felt the press of your boyfriend’s hand against your back as he repositioned your arms and elbows to place you on all fours. Cool air immediately hit the skin of your lower half as you felt him pull your bottoms off. You wriggled your hips in an effort to help, but instead your flesh was met with an aggressive strike. Managing to catch your discomfort in your throat, a lowered hiss bared through your gritted teeth, soon followed by a sharpened inhale as you felt the presence of him towering over you.
“Been thinking about the way those cute lips were wrapped around that straw all night,” he panted, palming his cock through his sweats. You could see how uncomfortably hard he was- it lit a fire in the pit of your stomach. You couldn’t wait to serve him, you couldn’t wait to feel the weight of his thick cock against your tongue- and stretching your pussy past it’s limits.
“I bet’cher sweet mouth wrapped around my cock would look even prettier, don’t ya think?”
His words hit at your core. Your mouth began to water in anticipation as he pulled himself out of his sweats, gently pumping before lining up at your mouth.
Delicately, your tongue swirled down the slit of the head, plush lips wrapping around the pink bulb. Osamu’s hands guided your head down the length, drool sliding out of your mouth and down your chin, where it dripped onto your chest, riddled with bright multicolored light. Slowly, he fucked himself with your throat, allowing you to adjust to his girth.
“Yep,” he exhaled deeply, hissing at how warm your mouth felt around him.
“Ev’n prettier.”
His motions sped up as he bobbed your head up and down, the slight saltiness of his precum going down easily, leaving you practically begging for a full load. You always craved him on your tongue- he tasted much better than any diner milkshake could. The soft gargling of his assault on your throat slowed to a stop as he pulled you off, leaving you gasping for air. Licking the drool from the corners of your lips, Osamu kissed you passionately before throwing your bound body onto the couch.
You clenched haphazardly around his cock as soon as he entered you, head flying forward with the force of his thrusts. His arm held you upright, parallel to his chest as his cock pistoned in and out of your hole.
“‘S-sa-ah!~ ‘Samu- ffuck!” Your eyes snapped shut as he fucked into you. His breathy grunts resounded deep in your ears, sending jolts of molten lust down your spine, chest heaving as you tried keeping your voices down. Your hot, wet cunt sucked him in deeper and deeper each time he entered you- your urge to milk him for everything he had was only made more apparent by it.
“I can feel you baby,” He purred into your ear. “So fucking wet.”
Osamu released you from his hold, letting you fall forward into the couch, one hand pushing your head into the cushions, the other roughly kneading at the flesh where your ass and hip met, digging his nails into the flesh as he began to carnally pound into your pussy. Each stroke hit your sweet spot with a ridiculously precise skill. Your muffled sobs echoed into the cushions of the couch as he drilled you, never once slowing the rate in which his hips snapped into yours. You wouldn’t be surprised if the smacking of his skin against yours woke your parents at this rate- you couldn’t be bothered to care with your orgasm this close to the horizon.
Somehow you managed to free a hand from your twinkling ties, immediately pushing it to your clit to rub it feverishly. The squelching started up shortly after, your ears beginning to ring as your throat squealed itself raw into the deep void beneath you. Osamu pulled you back by your hair, pressing his lips to your ear and clasping a hand to your mouth.
“Keep rubbing that pretty pussy, sweet girl, so fucking close to cumming fer me, aren’t ya?”
You could only whine in response. He softened the hand on your mouth, muffled words spilling out.
“I’m gonna cu-ah-cum! Please let me cum!”
“Hmmm? Gonna cum? Did I hear ya right, little love?” He knew what he was doing, egging you on like this.
You were mere milliseconds away from losing it, the edge pulling up to you so close that you could barely collect yourself as you began to feel yourself slip over it- eyes whiting out as Osamu gave you the go-ahead.
“Just let me c-” he finished your sentence for you.
“Cum.” It was a simple word, a simple command. But the way it hit your ears: the way the low growl tore through your body- you didn't stand a chance. The warm wetness of your release sprayed against his abs, trickling down your thighs and pooling into the upholstery. Your eyes crossed, face contorting further into lewd bliss as a scream tried to escape your mouth- but only silence hiccuped its way out.
“Good fucking girl- now take this, baby. Take it all…” God, he was the devil.
Fucking you through it- your boyfriend chased his own high, cock twitching inside as the vision of you wrapped in lights blurring into colorful stars as he spilled into you, his load coating your insides with a mass of sticky, soothing heat. You both collapsed into each other, bodies writhing as you caught your heavy breaths.
As he slipped out of you, Osamu lifted your hips to his mouth, sucking in the mixture of his and your own release, savoring it on his tongue. Your puffy, fucked-out cunt spasmed at the contact, the sensation overwhelming as you tugged at his steely grey locks, snapping his head back.
“Hmmph- s’too much ‘Samu!” Your thighs clamped together as soon as he released you.
Humming a soft apology, he moved up from your lower lips to the upper ones, pushing his tongue past them, spitting arousal across your tongue. You swallowed the mixture greedily, smiling against his lips. You could still feel ropes of cum pouring from your spamming hole and leaking onto your thighs.
“Whaddaya think?” The words were slurred against the skin at the crook of your neck while he peppered your skin with kisses.
“Delicious.” You looked at him with a smirk, mind still hazy as your body shook its way through a few more aftershocks.
“Told ya I could make a better milkshake.”
As he said it, laughter broke out between the two of you. Your chest struggled against the harness, as it was still pretty tight. Osamu unplugged the decorations, gently untying you as snow fell outside your living room window, the faint jingling of bells filling the room again as the tv light illuminated you both.

Well done on 100 followers!! <333 🤎- word: tree (i’m sorry that’s really random but i think it could be cute lmao) character: oliver wood x
Our Tree (Oliver Wood x gn!reader)
Summary: Years pass but their love and their tree never goes away. (Sorry for the bad summary)
Warnings: marriage proposal, muggle au, childhood friends to lovers, possibly bad writing (I did not proof read this sorry)
A/n: Not sure how I feel about it but you were right, I created something pretty big with the simple word, tree. I think this could’ve been better if I put more time into it but I don’t want to spend too much time on it. Some of it feels a little rushed but I didn’t want to write something too long.

*** age 10 ***
“What are you doing in my tree?!” Shouts a boy below you. You push back a branch to spot a little brown haired boy with his hands firmly planted on his hips.
“What do you mean your tree? It’s my tree.” You shout back.
“We’ll I don’t see your name on it.” He huffs.
You look up and down the tree. “I don’t see yours either.” You counter.
“Oh yeah? Watch this.” The boy suddenly starts to climb the tree. In five moves he’s sitting on the same branch as you. You scan the stranger next to you. His eyes are determined, competitive but there’s still something warm brewing in those brown eyes. The boy appears to be doing the same, scanning every detail of your face.
He suddenly smiles a little. “Follow me.” He says with a much sweeter tone than earlier. He turns away from you and starts climbing up the tree. He sits down again one branch higher. You follow suit, sitting next to the stranger.
He points to the branch bark. You look down to find the name Oliver scratch into it.
“What’s that you were saying about me not having my name on it?” He lifts a brow, looking very satisfied with himself.
Your face falls looking a little disappointed. “I guess it is your tree.” You frown. For years now you this tree has been your safe haven. There was no place you loved more than the curve in the forth branch. You worry that this is the end, that you’ll have to give up your tree.
“It’s okay, we can share.” He shoves his hand in his pocket, holding onto the branch above for stability. He takes out a penny and hands it to you. He scooches down the branch so the name Oliver is between the two of you. “Add your name under mine. That way it’s our tree.”
Your eyes go wide and a wide smile pulls your cheeks. You carve your name into the branch in silence.
“(Y/n).” Says Oliver, more to himself than to you. It’s like he’s trying it out for the first time.
*** age 15 ***
“(Y/n)? Are you up there?” Shouts a familiar voice.
“Oliver!” Your voice is bright and cheerful. You shove your book in your bag and wait for him to join you.
“Hey, how are you?” He asks, settling next to you.
“I think I’m ready to start dating people.” You have a thoughtful look on your face, like it’s an idea that’s still roaming in your head.
“Well I’d date you.” He says simply as if that’s not music to your ears. As if it’s not the thing you daydream of.
“I’d like that.” You try to hide your excitement, wanting to appear cool.
“What? Y-you want us to date?” A knot forms in your stomach as you start to overthink what just happened. Was he just saying that to reassure you? Did he not mean it? You take a shaky breath looking at Oliver who’s mouth is hanging open.
“I- I like you Oliver.” You confess after seeing no way out of the situation.
Oliver smiles wide and chuckles a little. “I can’t believe this is happening. I like you too!”
*** age 17 ***
Your phone pings on your night table. You read Oliver’s text on the screen.
I got my letter! Meet me at the tree in 5 min.
You grab your unopened university acceptance letter and run to the tree. You jump up and down unable to contain your excitement as you wait for Oliver. You both share the same dream to go to the same college. You agreed to look at your letters at the same time. You received yours two days ago so you had to wait for Oliver to get his in the mail.
“Oliver!” You exclaim when you spot him, running to jump into his arms. He gives you a short kiss before waving his letter in the air.
“Okay remember, no matter what happens, it’s you and me until the end.” Oliver explains seriously. You nod quickly, getting impatient.
“One, two, three.” The two of you simultaneously rip the envelopes open and pull out the letter.
There’s a moment of silence as you each read your letters. Oliver runs a hand through his hair and you clasp your hand over your mouth.
“And?” Pushes Oliver.
“What about you?” So ask instead of answering him.
“Say it on three?” He offers, taking your hand. You nod once more.
“One, two, three.”
“I got in!” You both shout at the same time. The rest is a blur. It’s happy screams, jumping, hugging, kissing, laughing, crying.
*** Age 28 ***
“Last chance to go pee.” You tell Oliver with your hand on the front door doorknob.
Oliver shakes his head and places a hand on the small of your back to guide you out the door. “I’m good. Let’s go” Is all he says.
You climb into the car and Oliver starts driving to your hometown for the weekend. You’re due for a visit, it’s been a while since you’ve seen Oliver or your family. The drive is pleasant. You listen to music, and audiobook and talk. Finally at your destination you unpack the car and settle in Oliver’s family’s guest room.
The next morning you wake up alone in bed. A first in the six years that you and Oliver have been living together. You check your phone to find no messages from him. Slightly worried, you quickly get dressed and run downstairs.
“He’s at the tree, my dear.” Says his mom propped against the kitchen door frame. She offers you a reassuring smile and hands you a jacket.
“Thanks.” You answer hurriedly, taking the coat and walking out the door.
You run to the tree to find it filled with strings of lights. Oliver is waiting for you, pacing back and forth.
“Oliver?” You rush to him. “Is everything okay?” There is evident concern in your voice. Oliver’s eyes widen as he quickly take your hands in his.
“(Y/n).” His voice is soft but there’s a hint of nerves in them. He takes a deep breath. “We have shared this tree for eighteen years. We have shared a home for six years. What do you say we share the rest of our lives? (Y/n), my love, will you marry me?” Oliver kneels and pulls out a ring. You instantly recognize it as his grandmother’s ring that his mother showed you when you were helping her pick the perfect necklace for her dress last Christmas.
Tears of joy run down your face. “Yes!” Oliver stands, happy tears welling in his eyes. “Yes, yes, yes!” You add, at a loss for words. Oliver chuckles, pure delight in his eyes. He slides the ring onto your finger before cupping your cheek and connecting your lips.

series masterlist main masterlist chapter 4 chapter 6
The video of Y/N and Tom singing ‘SOS’ broke the internet. It was trending for at least four days. The whole internet, already on the witch hunt to find evidence of a relationship, was being fed. The paparazzi were circling around like vultures. The threat of being outed made them hide in their caves.
Haz was coming to London in two days. Y/N was trying to rid the house of anything and everything that hinted that Tom had been staying with her. Between the paps, shooting, and Haz, she couldn’t find time to meet Tom and give him his things.
There were Polaroids scattered all over the house. While she was packing a box to parcel to Tom, she found a Polaroid on her glass coffee table next to her ‘vanilla sage’ candle from Bath and Body Works. In the photo, Y/N was lying on her stomach on the hardwood floor in her living room, a gin and tonic next to her. Tom was sitting on the floor with his right arm extended to take the photo. They were both smiling.
She remembered when he took that photo. It was the same day she found a vintage vinyl of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong’s ‘on verve’, during her exploration of Camden market. They decided to have a listening party of that album on the floor. Tom found his new favourite song that day, ‘let’s call the whole thing off’. She smiled at the memory. Instead of putting it in the box, she went into her room to put it in her wallet where only she could find it.
Y/N noticed her phone vibrating next to her purse. It was Harrison.
“Bonjour mon amour”,
“Hi Haz, did you board the flight?”
“Just did; listen you don’t have to pick me up from the airport, I know you are busy at work”
“Fine. Text me when you land”
“Su-“, she hung up the phone.
I can’t believe I have to live with this man for a whole week.
Haz came in late at night, even though his flight was supposed to land at 5pm. Y/N was already sleeping. When she woke up around 8 next morning, she found, much to her surprise, Haz snoring next to her. Last night she made sure that there was a pillow and a blanket on the couch for him, a subtle way of saying ‘I don’t want you sleeping in the same bed with me’. Also because she thought he knew about the affair and wouldn’t want to sleep next to her.
God, I wish I had another bedroom
Y/N was sitting on the bar stool with her laptop on the kitchen island, going through her mail while drinking coffee. Haz had just woken up from his deep slumber, and found his way to the kitchen to fetch him some coffee.
“Good morning!” she said enthusiastically, without looking up from her laptop screen. She had thought it was a sleepy Tom, coming out of the bedroom to make himself tea.
“Morning”, Haz said as a reflex, rubbing his eyes. Y/N’s smile disappeared upon hearing the sound of his voice.
“Did you make breakfast?” Haz asked while pouring himself coffee into a mug Tom had gifted Y/N.
“I made myself breakfast when I woke up, three hours ago. Was I supposed to make breakfast for you too?” It was a rhetorical question. Y/N noticed the mug, it made her uneasy watching a man she doesn’t love drinking from a gift given by the man she did love.
“There’s eggs and bread in the fridge, help yourself”, she pointed at the refrigerator.
As Haz cracked open an egg on the pan, Y/N received an email from Greta.
“Good news, Netflix bought the distribution rights to Greta’s movie, she just sent me a mail”
“Oh”
Oh? Seriously, oh?
“They are planning the premier for this Friday, do you want to go with me?”
“I don’t think so, I don’t really like the people you work with” he was putting butter on cold bread.
There is nothing more tragic than love turning into hate. Tragedy had struck their marriage. The rest of the week, they only spoke when they absolutely had to. It was like living with a roommate, you share a bed with but cannot share your day with.
--
It was Friday, the day of the movie premiere. Y/N was excited to see Tom after a week without him, which felt like an eternity to her. She was wearing a silver colored floor length gown with heavily studded earrings. Her hair was up in a bun with two strands out, to shape her face.
Since it was Netflix, the event could afford to take place at the Royal Albert Hall. Y/N had only been there once, for an Arctic Monkeys concert. When she stepped out of the car, she was met by blinding lights of the cameras. She walked over to the whole cast on the red carpet. The only thing she could hear was the deafening noise of photographers screaming to look towards them and in between, tabloid journalists asking her questions about her life and rumours.
Y/N was still pretty new to walking red carpets because she had mostly worked on indie films that couldn’t afford a grand premiere as most of the money would go towards entering different festivals. Y/N was wearing a mask of pure joy on her face but Tom could see right through it. He could see how uncomfortable Y/N was feeling.
He walked towards her, “you look gorgeous darling” he whispered in her ears and for a second that mask she was wearing became real. They both posed together, but regretted it immediately. The whole media went on overdrive, seeing them together.
“Are you guys seeing each other?” a person from the left screamed.
“Y/N, did you leave Harrison?” someone from the right asked
The voices were coming from everywhere. All they could do now was walk off the carpet. Tom had arranged for Y/N to sit next to her during the screening. His hand was linked with Y/N’s the whole time. He could feel her shivering.
“Are you cold?” he asked her.
“Not really”, she took a long pause. “I am just nervous about my performance in the movie and I guess the questions really got to my head, it’s all making me very anxious”
“Don’t worry babe, everyone is going to love you in the movie, and those hunters out there are shell of a person, all they care about are these bullshit rumours. They don’t deserve a house in your thoughts”
“Shhhhhh” someone whispered from the row above theirs.
Y/N’s phone was vibrating, it was Harrison’s fourth call in fifteen minutes.
Why is he not getting the hint that I don’t want to talk to him
She ignored it.
A few minutes later, her phone rang again.
What if it’s serious?
She got up and went outside of the theatre to take the call.
“What is it, Haz? You know I’m busy right now”
“Umm, are you Y/N?” A man with a heavy, older voice said.
“Yes?” She was confused. “Who is this and how do you have my husband’s phone?”
“Your husband is trashed, ma’am. He passed out on my bar counter about half an hour ago. Your number was on his emergency contact list so I'm calling you to pick him up”
“I’ll be right there, can you tell me the address?”
“Yeah sure it’s 141 Albert Street, Spread Eagle”
Tom came out of the theatre.
“Is everything okay, Y/N?”
“I have to go pick up Haz, he’s splashed out on a bottle somewhere, bloody fool can’t even walk”, she said whilst texting her driver to pick her up.
“Do you want me to go with you?”
“No, I need to deal with this alone”
She walked out the back gate and got in a black Audi.
The paparazzi had noticed her early departure, so they started following her recklessly.
It was a corner pub, the bar was at full capacity. Y/N saw Haz with his head down on the counter, an almost empty tequila bottle next to him.
“Haz wake up, come on, we need to go, get up darling” Y/N was trying to shake him awake.
“O-oh Y/N, y-you’re he-ear”, he was slurring his words.
“Yeah now let’s go”
He started to get up, Y/N had her one hand on his back and the other on his forearm, to support him.
“Honey I th-think I’m going to puke”, he looked sick.
“Is there a restroom here?” She asked the bartender. He pointed towards the corner of the room, a dimly lit area.
“Thank you”. She helped Harrison to walk to the restroom.
The washroom felt like their marriage. They were cramped up in it. The whole room was pure white but also yellow, caused by the lack of cleaning. There were no windows and had only one white florescent light. It was suffocating. The room made her realise that she could not hide from the inevitable, anymore.
Has was on his knees, holding on to the toilet seat with his dear life, puking all the poison out. Y/N was standing near the sink, taking off her statement earrings. She could see a vulnerable Harrison in the reflection of the mirror.
“I want a divorce”, she whispered, loud enough to be heard in this stifle room.

Shades of red and yellow illuminated the street cobblestones, the gleaming Christmas lights guiding his way to a yet unknown destination. As he walked down the avenue, Oikawa let his eyes wander all over his surroundings, his gaze running almost as fast as his mind did. Despite that, Toru paced slowly along the sidewalk, soaking in the scenery before him. It really was a beautiful view.
But it wasn’t about the garlands wrapped around the streetlights, nor the shiny golden ornaments that delicately hanged from them. Even the decorated trees didn’t quite catch his attention that night. It was something else that fought for his heart instead. Something that he hadn’t had a taste of for a while now.
And tonight, his undying desire felt like being parched while standing in front of the sea.
Cheerful laughs echoed through the air as little children sprinted past him, unaware of the man’s presence. Yet, he didn’t mind, his sheepish giggle joining theirs. Downtown street bars buzzed with loud chatter, smiles painted on unfamiliar faces as a natural halo appeared to involve every single one of them. The warmth Oikawa felt rushing through his core had nothing to do with the sultry weather, rather, it emanated from that sight before his eyes.
Still, he seemed to lack a light of his own, and basking in other people’s glow, as joyful as it may be, comes with a price. Toru was left alone, only his shadow accompanying him through the night.
Staring at his silhouette reflecting onto the ground, the man moved his hand out of the pocket and to his nape, carefully watching his own contour mirroring him in every move. And even with every step taken that assured him a bond between himself and the dark figure, he still felt like something was out of place.
Oikawa could feel his slouched shoulders pushing him down. For a man who always stood with his head held high, there was only so much he could take. As he dragged his feet through the curb, he asked himself when it all changed so fast.
A quiver took over his body as if he refused to admit to that idea. He had it all, didn’t he? He sneered, lightly shaking his head. If he acted tough enough, maybe his thoughts would catch up to his actions, right? At least that’s what he wanted to believe.
Cracking his neck, he looked up to the clear summer sky, determined to push those thoughts away as if doing so would make it all magically fall back into place. As his eyes met the silver shimmer from the stars, which were shining a little brighter than they usually did, he couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by the beauty of it. Most of all, he was struck by what it reminded him of. He thought back to Miyagi. To Japan. To home.
“Oji-san!” His nephew came running down in his direction, almost knocking him over with all the strength in his little body. “You’ll never believe what Santa got me for Christmas! Guess it, guess it!”
“Wow, calm down, kiddo!” Toru laughed as he held the 6-year-old into his arms. “Hm, let me think…” He said looking up to the ceiling and softly clasping his chin. “Legos?”
“Better than that!” The little guy answered while squinting in joy, eyes twinkling in a way his uncle had never seen before.
“Hm, a bike?” He asked calmly, messing with the kid, knowing that was the present he’d gotten last Christmas. The teenager tried to hold back a giggle, but mocking his nephew was just too much fun.
“No, oji-san! It’s the coolest gift ever! Try again!”
“Is it a rocketship?” Toru said, widening his stare like even himself would be excited if that was the case. But the child sighed, rolling his eyes. Hiding a smirk, the older boy decided to stop playing around, finally giving in to the youngster’s wishes. “I give up! I have no idea! What is it!?"
“A volleyball! Just like yours!”
Oikawa smiled at the reminiscences lingering in the air, the memories immersing his senses back to the time and place he never wanted to leave. Closing his eyes, he could still feel the ghost of his nephew’s embrace, a tight and cozy grasp around his neck, saying more than words ever could. But his daydream didn’t last long enough to suppress the void hoovering his heart. As soon as he opened his lids, he was taken back to reality.
And then, just when he thought there was nothing else that could haunt him that night, a sore sight caught his attention, putting out the last flicker of flame that rested in his almond eyes.
It was just a glimpse, just some little specks of sand running down the hourglass of his life. Those few seconds usually would barely mean anything in the long run, but tonight that was enough to wash away his beam. Slightly furrowing his brows into a hurtful look, he tried to fight back the tears threatening to fall down his face.
An innocent couple running across the street, hands intertwined in a knot while brief chuckles scaped now and then, an exchange of accomplice looks giving out their most clandestine thoughts. It was at that moment, when unforgiving loneliness meets undeniable happiness, that Toru fell apart.
Slowly, he made his way to the building next to him, leaning his back onto the brick walls of the construction. He stood there, swallowing down the feelings that begged him to be screamed out.
He always knew he’d have to make sacrifices for his dreams. But all out of all the things he missed, there was only one that he would never forgive himself for letting go. And as he watched love surrounding him from every corner, it was impossible not to think of it. Not to think of you.
Raindrops cascaded down the windows of the apartment as the man dove himself further under the covers. Shrinking his body between the sheets, Oikawa felt a too familiar touch enveloping his torso, comforting him with a warmth that even sunlight could not compete with.
“Couldn’t you just stay like this all day?” Toru groaned as his fingers found their way to your locks, gently caressing your hair.
“Mhm?” You hummed in response, too disoriented by your lack of sleep to even process what he was saying. Leisurely, you opened one of your eyes to peek at your boyfriend, lips instantly curling up into a smirk.
“Nothing, love” He chortled. Oikawa didn't need to ask you again, he’d found his answer in the way you looked at him.
"Someone woke up in a good mood." You said, trying to tease the boy. "Santa must've gotten you a very special gift."
"I'm looking at it right now."
Brushing against your skin, his other hand played with the buttons of your shirt, the one you were too tired to take off the night before.
“I’m going to miss this. Miss you.”
“I’m not going anywhere. Not now, at least”
“But soon you will” You paused, a heavy silence filling the room. “Toru…" Before you could finish your sentence, he delicately pushed you away, placing one of his hands onto your chin, obliging you to look into his eyes.
"Please… Let’s not think about that now.” Pulling you closer to his body, he held you tighter and tighter by the minute, afraid that if he ever let go, you’d slip away.
And you did.
Looking back at it, he regretted everything. All the words left unsaid, all the things he should've done so that he’d have you in his arms right now. But you couldn't leave it all behind just to follow him to the other side of the world. Even if you wanted to, he would've never had the heart to ask you such a thing.
So you both decided to break it off.
Yet, it had been two years and there wasn’t a single day when you didn’t cross his mind. And right now, when the pounding sound of bells resonated throughout the air, bringing him back to earth, Oikawa believed it must’ve been some kind of sign that you were the person he was thinking about. It was only then that Toru realized he was standing at a church.
Step by step, he moved away from the wall, drawn by the chimes warning him that it was already midnight. Christmas time. Walking towards the olden gates of the holy ground, he contemplated the image in front of him, being hit by one final blow.
Families gathered all around the church, the words "Merry Christmas" being repeated over and over again as everyone exchanged smiles and caring hugs. Even if he wasn't necessarily a religious person himself, let alone christian, Toru still felt inspired by the passion radiating from them.
As the mass finally started, the loud buzzing of the crowd quieting down, he closed his eyes, his mind transporting him to the place he wanted to be.
So he decided to pray. Pray for his loved ones. Pray for you.
He asked for your health, for your well-being, for your happiness and, as much as it hurt him, for you to find love too. The loneliness he felt was something he wouldn't wish upon his worst enemies, and you just happened to be one of his favorite people in the world.
Oikawa didn't even know whom he was praying to. Even so, his wishes were so pure that someone must've heard him because it was in the moment he said his last prayers that his phone started to vibrate in his pocket. A call coming in.
When he saw the name that popped on the screen, Toru thought his eyes were probably deceiving him. That's just what his heart wanted to see.
But as soon as he picked up the phone, your unmistakable voice woke him in a rush.
Maybe there was something magical about the holidays after all.

THE NEW KID: Landing
THE NEW KID MASTERLIST Ch. 3
Genre: Fluff Pairing: Peter x Lesbian!reader (Platonic duh), Avengers & Reader Warnings: swearing, Description: Reader has just joined the Avengers so they decide to throw her a birthday party. Reader’s Powers: Healing, telepathy, and empath. Word Count: 2,737
“Peter! You got me into the avengers!” you scream whacking your best friend with a pillow.
“You’re welcome!” he laughs shielding his face from oncoming attacks. You end up tackling him causing him to land on his bed. “Why are you attacking me? This is so RUDE!”
“HAHA! Too bad.”
“STOP. STOP” he laughs causing you to stop almost instantly. He sits up and looks at the clock, it reads ‘3:57’. “How about we go back down to the game floor we can play some more laser tag or mess around with the VR stuff?”
“Sure but didn’t you say earlier that you wanted to show me the lab?”
“I forgot about that!” he stood up and reached his hand out to help you get up, you accept. Peter leads you out of his room at Avenger’s Tower to go to the elevator then up to the lab. “So, this is it!” he says taking you up some stairs.
The space is huge, where you just entered from is where the Quinjet lands, where the med lab is, and where the avengers keep their gear for missions. As you walk up the stairs you see several platforms and ‘bridges.’ To your right you see a platform full of tools and stations cluttered with different projects.
“Most of its taken up by Mr. Stark,” Peter explains, “He’s constantly working on upgrading and improving all of our suits.” He leads you towards the back of the area, “This is where I usually work. I’m usually the one to work on my suit, especially during breaks. I’m trying to figure out a way to improve the capacity of my web-shooters.”
You nod, Pete lets you look at his formulas and blueprints. You give him a handful of suggestions and ask him a few questions. He listens intently to each suggestion and question. He then has a quick ‘aha’ moment and writes a few things down for later. You can’t believe that you now get to help him with this stuff in person.
“Oh,” he says suddenly. He points to an empty part of the lab next to him. “This is your station, you can put anything there and use any of the tools, under supervision. Mr. Stark isn’t a big fan of us being up here without him or Dr. Banner but he made an exception for today.”
“Wait… slow down.”
Peter looks up at you, he’s slightly confused.
“I get to work up here, in the Avenger’s lab?”
“Yeah,” he breathes out. “What did you not understand about the part that you’re an Avenger now?”
“I don’t know… I guess that it just didn’t click.” You look around the space trying to figure out what you’ll do. You then remember some of the old projects that you had to scrap because you didn’t the resources, you’ll probably have to start from scratch… wait your stuff is here. You let out a gasp and your eyes get a little wider. You almost run out to get your old blueprints but Peter grabs your wrists.
“Y/n, slow down. Where are you going?”
“Sorry, I got ahead of myself. I just remembered that I have my old blueprints still and that I can work on that stuff here.”
He smiles at you, he’s happy you can feel it off of him. That was the first time since you got to New York that you had felt pure joy and he could feel it, too. His smile shrinks a little, “Like I said Mr. Stark doesn’t really like us up here without someone with us.” You nodded in understanding.
“Now let me actually take you to the med lab, I think that Dr. Cho will want to meet you.” He took you back down the stairs and opened the doors to the Med Lab. Dr. Cho was sitting down busy at work looking through some papers and looking at something on the screen in front of her. “Dr. Cho.”
She looked up from her work and looked at Peter then at you. Her eyes grew wide, “Oh, I completely forgot.” She stood up walking over to you and reaching her hand out. You accepted it shaking her hand, “I’m Y/n.”
“Yes,” she smiled, “Stark told me about you and your powers. I’d love to do some testing later once you’re settled.”
“I’d love that too. I’ve done a little bit of testing on my own, but I’d love to learn my limits.”
She nodded, she seemed excited. “I have to get back to my work now, but I will see you later.”
You and Peter exited the lab then went back down to the game floor as you had planned earlier. You both walked down the hallway and entered the game room. In one of the corners was Steve and Bucky, Bucky was hunched over on an old arcade version of Mortal Combat while Steve had his hand on the brunette’s back and he was laughing his ass off at the stern face of the “tinman.” Steve almost instantly turned around when you and peter entered but he couldn’t stop his laughing quite as quickly.
You smiled and waved at them. You turned to Peter, “What do you wanna play?”
“Smash Bros?”
“Minecraft?”
‘You always want to play Minecraft,” he whined.
‘And you always want to play Smash Bros!”
He gave you the best puppy dog eyes he could.
“Fine!” you laughed
“Yes!” Peter quickly set up the game.
“FINISH HIM” you could hear from the old Mortal Combat Bucky was playing.
You took that as your cue, “Do you guys want to join us?”
Steve looked a little surprised, he turned to Bucky waiting for his answer. “Sure, how do you play?” he and Steve walked over and joined you and Peter on the large couch.
“It’s kind of like Mortal Combat.” You went on to explain the game and gave recommendations as to who they should pick.
“Fuck!” you exclaimed after losing to the two super-soldiers who had never even played the game before today.
“Language,” Steve said nonchalantly.
“Sorry” you squeaked out.
Steve’s eyes widened realizing his mistake, he said it out of habit assuming it was Bucky who said it. Bucky let out an earth-shattering laugh. While you were mortified that you had screamed ‘fuck’ in front of some of the Avengers not once but twice in one day. Once Bucky stopped laughing and caught his breath he turned to Peter, “Do you curse this much? I swear I’ve never even heard you say ‘crap.’” He did, just not in front of the avengers. Peter’s whole face had turned red causing Bucky to laugh again.
“Sorry, Y/n,” Steve said over Bucky’s continual laughing.
“What are you saying sorry for?”
“I thought it was Buck who said it so out of habit I said ‘language.’”
You smiled, “You don’t mind me-“
“Of course not.” Steve looked at his watch and then turned to Bucky who had finally stopped laughing, “Buck, maybe it’s time we head up.”
“It was nice playing with you guys,” you smiled.
“Yeah, we’ll have to do it again,” said Bucky.
“You’re an Avenger now, doll. Plenty of game nights.” Steve smiled walking out the door.
“Bye.”
Peter stood up. “Do yooou wanna play in VR?”
“Yes!”
“I know we’ve only been on this for half an hour but do you wanna grab some food?” Peter asked you.
“Umm, sure I could use some food.”
You and Peter walked back to the elevator taking it back up to the communal living space. As the elevator rose you felt the excitement rise not only in Peter but in some people on the floor you were headed to. When the doors opened it was darker than last time then you heard “SURPRISE” being shouted at you from all over the room and the lights turned back on. You jumped back a little then erupted into giggles. Directly in front of you were Ned, MJ, and May. While the Avengers were spread around the room, which included some of those that weren’t at lunch. There was a large banner on the wall that read “Happy 17th Birthday, Y/n!” There were streamers and balloons everywhere, along with some confetti that was spread along the ground. “Happy Birthday!” Ned, MJ, and May said in unison all grouping together for a group hug that caused you to giggle once more.
“Thank you.”
Peter grabbed your hand and led you over to a group of people near the dining table. There was Pepper Potts with a little girl holding onto her hand, with a man, woman, and a teen girl that was maybe a year or two younger than you and Peter. Pepper was the first to notice the two of you so she turned and smiled at you grabbing the others' attention.
“Hi,” you said looking back over the group.
“I’m Hope,” said the brunette woman reaching her hand out.
You recognized her but couldn’t remember how and as you shook her hand you let out a slight gasp, “Pym?”
“Yes,” she breathed out.
“Sorry, I’m way too invested into sciency things.”
The man next to her let out a chuckle, “I’m Scott.” He gently put his hand onto the teen next to him, “and this is my daughter Cassie.”
She smiled at you, “Hi.”
“Hi.” You were kinda confused as to who these people were, relating to the Avengers.
Peter whispered in your ear, “Think about it,” it was like he was the telepath.
After a second or two of staring at them, you let out, “Oh! You’re Wasp and Ant-man.” Neither one of them were known to the public as that but they were the only masculine and feminine pair, so it made sense. Hope let out a, “Yeah” while Scott just grinned impressed. You finally turned to the woman you were very excited to meet, the CEO of Stark Industries.
“I’m Pepper,” she went for a hug that you accepted. Once you were released from the hug she put her hand on the shoulder of the little girl hiding behind her. “This is Morgan, Tony and I’s daughter.”
You kneeled to be at the girl’s eye level, “Hi, I’m Y/n.”
“Hi,” she said in the quietest voice possible.
You just smiled and stood back up. “It’s an honor to meet you all,” you said turning to each one in the small group, “I can’t believe that I’m even here.”
“Don’t worry,” Scott said, “We’re still getting used to it.” Hope nodded in agreement.
Thank god, that eased your anxieties a little. “Come on, Y/n. There are still more people you gotta meet.” He led you across the room where Tony and Colonel Rhodes, aka War Machine, were talking, Col. Rhodes seemed annoyed. As you walked you passed Bruce, Sam, Bucky, and Steve who waved as you walked by. Bruce stepped forward, “Hey, Y/n!”
You stopped and turned to him.
“Thor wanted to tell you sorry that he couldn’t make it, ya know family business. And he wanted me to tell you ‘Happy Birthday’ from him and Loki.” You smiled and laughed at the “and Loki” part. “Tell them ‘Thank you and that I understand. Oh, and that I wish him luck with his brother’”. Bruce chuckled at your response. He turned and returned to his group while you continued to follow Peter.
“Come on, Tony, another teenager,” you could barely hear Col. Rhodes say.
Tony just saw you two walking towards them, he pointed his head at you which caused Col. Rhodes’ demeanor to change almost instantly.
“Hey,” Tony said smirking at you and Peter, “How you feeling?”
“Uhh, I’m still in stock,” you laugh rubbing your neck.
“Don’t worry, kid, that will wear off.”
“I’m Rhodey by the way.”
“It’s nice to meet you.”
“I won’t be able to stay for long I was told about this morning. I wasn’t even told there was a possibility of a new Avenger until then either,” he looked annoyingly at Tony.
“Oh, I... don’t worry it’s an honor just meeting you guys.”
“Y/n,” yelled Wanda who was over in the kitchen.
“Well, that’s me,” you commented pointing your thumb towards the kitchen.
“Happy Birthday.”
“Yeah, Happy Birthday, kid.”
You and Peter headed to the kitchen.
“That was kinda tense,” whispered Peter in your ear.
You nod in agreement as you enter. Wanda is standing next to the counter eating some chips with Nat and a man you recognize as Hawkeye. But more importantly, you spot some brownies. You quickly grab one, “Hey.” Wanda smiles and hugs you before you sit on one of the stools.
“Hey, Y/n/n, adjusted yet?” Nat joked.
“Nowhere close,” you breathe out.
Nat elbowed the man standing next to her. “I’m Clint.” He put a fist over the chip bowl.
You let out a chuckle and returned the fist bump. “You’re Hawkeye, right?”
“Yeah,” he laughs at the codename.
You continue to eat the brownie and happily smile at your best friend. He takes a seat next to you and spins your chair as you take the last bite of it. When you look up, there she is Captain Marvel with a gift bag in her hand. You choke on the brownie spitting it out in your hand then throwing it away. Peter looks up in concern at you, you simply point at her and he erupts in laughter. Nat, Clint, and Wanda were first concerned when you choked on your food but are now very confused. You turn around away from the center of the room, putting your face in your hands.
“Y/n, you okay?” Wanda asks.
“Oh my god,” you breathe out.
Clint throws a chip at Peter, “Bug, explain.”
Peter calms down. “Y/n has a hu-“ he corrects himself, “is a huge fan of Carol.”
Nat catches on instantly, the other two don’t but are accepting of the answer.
“Peter!” you say shoving him almost causing him to fall from his chair, but he holds on to the seat. “You’re a fucking psychopath,” you whisper angrily in his ear, “Are you trying to kill me?” He laughs looking behind you, so you turn around and to your surprise, Captain Marvel is right behind you. You open your mouth opens but nothing comes out.
Y/n.exe has stopped working.
Reboot?
Rebooting.
Peter gives you a little shaking you a little. “Earth to Y/n,” he whispers in your ear. Everyone, EVERYONE takes note of this. Some understanding your behavior instantly while others put it down as you just being a “big fan.”
“Hi,” you blush.
“Hi,” Captain Marvel smiles at you.
“I, um, I’m a, I’m Y/n,” you finally stutter out.
“I’m Carol,” she smirks. You put your hand out for her to shake but instead of returning the handshake, she puts the gift bag she was holding into your hand. “Peter told me you were a big fan, so I got you something.”
You smile and hit Peter for telling her. “Thank you,” you barely get out as she walks away.
“Hey!” you hear from across the room. “Since everyone’s met Y/n let’s sing happy birthday!” you finally recognize the voice to be Tony’s, “Head to the Dining table!”
You’re still standing there stunned, “Did that just happen?”
“Yes,” Peter says grabbing your arm, “Now let’s get some cake.”
Peter leads you to the Dining Table and then to a cupcake tower full of different types of cupcakes with a lit candle on top reading ‘17’. You take a deep breath to collect yourself. You look around you and you’re overwhelmed with how much you can feel all of them caring for you even though you just met most of them today. You wish your parents could see this… no you wish that your parents loved you enough where you wouldn’t even be in New York right now, but they don’t, and you have to live with that. “Thank you, for all of this,” you say looking mostly at Peter but also at the others. “Usually, I would spend my birthday with just my parents and this year I thought it would be Peter, May, MJ, Ned, and I. But I never could’ve predicted to be with any of you much less as your new teammate. I don’t know what else to do besides saying thank you.”

Playing Animal Crossing While in Quarantine HC
Requests: Open!
Warnings: Pure fluff
Midoriya, Bakugou, Todoroki, Kirishima, Tamaki and Aizawa: Playing Animal Crossing With Their S/O While in Quarantine
I’ve been obsessed with animal crossing these past few days! If you want to visit my island some time or just chill, DM me and I’ll send you my switch friend code!
Also, if there’s another My Hero Academia peep you want me to do that isn’t on this list, leave me a message in my inbox and I’ll do them next! Also, please feel free to leave a comment!
Midoriya
- The two of you had the game pre-ordered and once you got it the two of you became hooked. You refuse to let Midoriya onto your island till you have everything set up how you want. However, Midoriya lets you visit his island frequently. He has a little park area on his island, a little picnic area where the two of you can have little dates since he can’t take you out on real ones.
- He won’t let you in his house. You don’t know why, but he won’t. Before you can get near it you see where he’s dug holes or blocked the entrance off with large items so you can’t get through. “Midoriya, I wanna see your house.” You state one day over the phone as you keep hitting the large fish tank he’s put in front of the door with your net.
- You finally get in one day when he accidentally takes the fish tank away when he hit the wrong button, and you just bolt inside. You hear him freaking out on the other end of the phone begging you to please not look at his house. However, it’s too late. It’s...actually not that bad. He has normal rooms much to your surprise.
- Midoriya starts chasing you around his house as you scope out what he’s done with the place. Bathroom, Kitchen, Bedroom, Living room, it’s all pretty normal. Then you get to the basement. You knew it was too good to be true. His basement is nothing but All Might. Midoriyas avatar is behind you sweating and freaking out. However, you reassure him that it’s okay, you’ve seen worse. No really, you went to Minetas island to be nice, and like I said, you’ve seen worse on that island.
- If there’s something in the Nook shop that he thinks you’d like he’ll buy it for you and surprise you with it the next time you come over. If there’s a fossil you can’t find, or one or two bugs you need for Blathers then he’ll try his hardest to find them on different islands and give them to you. If your anniversary or birthday was coming up and couldn’t spend it together during quarantine, he’ll try to come up with a surprise for you.
- You leave your switch for a few minutes to open a few gifts that your relatives had sent you through the mail, and get a piece of cake that your parent(s) got for you. You keep your switch on so Midoriya can run around your island and do as he pleases. While you’re away he begins planting flowers all around your house that he’s collected. Has a little picnic set and places it in the middle of the flowers. Luckily the flowers start to attract butterflys and different insects.
- When you come back your heart is warm from the display, and the two of you spend several hours just talking and doing little things together like collecting the bugs the flowers brought in or fishing.
Bakugou
- He has a switch, but he didn’t buy the game when it first came out. Why would he? It was too cute looking for his taste and he remembers some of the girls playing that stupid background music to help them concentrate while they studied back at UA. It drove him up a damn wall then, so why would he put himself through that torture now?
- It wasn’t till he became annoyed with you that he decided to get the game. You were one of the people that had the game pre-ordered and ever since you got it, plus went under quarantine, you’ve hardly paid Bakugou a lick of attention. He was on the phone with you trying to have a conversation, but whenever it was your turn to talk or answer a question your line was just dead. He’d call out your name snapping you out of your trance, and apologize to him due to you trying to catch a butterfly.
- It was okay the first few times it happened, but then it became annoying. How your line would be quiet then randomly “If I can’t one more fucking sea bass!” blares from your end causing Bakugou to nearly drop his phone in surprise. “Are you still playing that stupid fucking game!” He’d growl into his phone. Goes onto Amazon once the two of you get off the phone and order the game. He won’t pick up whenever you try to call him, which honestly makes you feel pretty guilty.
- However, your guilt flies out the door when you see the banner come across your screen stating a visitor was arriving. You rush to the docks to see who it is and you’re surprised to see a mini Bakugou avatar walk out of the little airport. Quickly, you grab your phone and call him. You had hit the joy emote as you waited for him to pick up, and as soon as he did you couldn’t help but squeal in excitement. “I can’t believe you got the game!” You’d state excitedly as you watch your screen.
- Then an ax appeared in his hand, making the color drain from your face. “Please don’t...” You whimper. Honestly you expected him to chop down all your tree’s, however he simply chased you for about five minutes. Once he’s cooled down he listens to you gush about all the little dates the two of you can go on, giving him a tour of your island, and even showing off the big fish you’ve caught. He’s a little irked because he’s just started the game and hasn’t caught fish as big as yours yet.
- He complains about his hate for Tom Nook. You watched as he tries to hit Toms tent with an ax to no luck. He goes around your island and shakes all the fruit out of your trees much to your displeasure though he drops his own fruit from his island in front of you stating he wants you to plant them.
- Bakugou has a shirt that looks like his hero outfit that he wears most of the time. If he’s not wearing that shirt then he has a regular black shirt with a skull on it. The Bakusquad usually visits each others island, though they don’t visit Denki’s as much since it’s about just as bad as Minetas. It’s not perverted like Minetas, but it’s not really put together well and he wears the dress that looks like it’s a bikini...
- Bakugou is known to uproot Mina’s flowers when she’s not looking to give to you later, and easily gets irritated if one of the bakusquad catches a fish he was trying to get.
- He tried to name his island Hell, but that’s not allowed. So he followed Jacksepticeyes example and named it Hel
- He has a large bed in his house so that whenever you come over you can crawl in with him and pretend that the two of you are cuddling. He has Moose on his island AND HE WANTS HIM GONE!
Todoroki
- He didn’t pre-order the game before it came out, in fact he didn’t even own a switch. He’s never really been that interested in video games, and has mostly been spending his free time reading and spending time with his siblings. You keep sending him images of fish you’ve caught, the small garden you’ve set up beside your house, and when you spotted a Wisp across the water. He could tell you were having a lot of fun, and was surprised to find out that Midoriya and the rest of Class 1-A was playing the game.
- Thus, he ordered a switch and the game so he could play with everyone. He sends a picture of his avatar once he’s gotten everything set up. Though, you’re not surprised that his character has white hair instead of red. You call him and answer any questions he has, helping him learn the ropes of the game. once he’s got a good bit of things done, and Timmy and Tommys shop has been set up, you allow him to visit your island. However, he won’t let you visit his yet.
- The two of you mostly goof around collecting bugs and fish. When the sun sets you have a bench near the edge of the water that the two of you sit on together. Todoroki starts a garden on your island just for you. Yeah, you have one that you started, but he wanted to start one where it’s just flowers he’s brought you. If he’s visiting a fellow classmates island and sees a flower he thinks you’d like or would look good in the garden, he’ll take a few thousand bells and drop it at the island owners feet before typing “I want the flower.”
- They’re not complaining because they got a dept to pay. Will go straight to your island and plant the flower.
- He has Marshal AND Raymond on his island, and honestly you feel a bit jealous. He’s converted pictures of you and the two of you together from his phone to the nintendo app so he can hang up pictures of y’all in his house. His house is honestly pretty simple, just like his dorm room. He even has a bamboo noodle slide beside his house. Actually a good chunk of his island has bamboo on it now, which doesn’t surprise you.
- The two of you actually dress up your characters to go on mini dates together. It grosses Bakugou out. “Why the fuck are y’all dressed like you’re about to go someplace fancy?!” Bakugou would type out while hitting Todoroki with a net much to his annoyance. When he’s bored Todoroki would make little outfits for you and send you the QR code. You mostly wear only what Todoroki makes now.
- He insist’s on helping you pay off your debt to Tom Nook, but you won’t let him.
Kirishima
- Like Midoriya he and you both pre-ordered the game. Surprisingly he’s played the past Animal Crossings as well. Before quarantine the two of you would actually listen to soothing animal crossing music when you study or were taking a nap. Your island is more developed than his since he doesn’t want to do the time jump cheat.
- The first room he has added onto his house is turned into a gym. He gets along so well with Tank, and usually can see his character running with Tank. Sucks at designing clothes so you designed him a Red Riot costume and emailed him the QR code. He lets you design different outfits for him and will put on little fashion shows for you. The two of you usually visit Sero and Minas island together, and sometimes Bakugou when he’s on (which is rare), and Denki’s.
- Everyone clicked the surprise emote when Denki appeared in the bikini dress. The two of you will go on fishing dates together, and if he catches a cute insect or a hard to catch fish, he’ll give it to you. One of the only things he’ll try is trying to grow a money tree, which surprisingly works.
- You logged on one day for one of your dates and he stated he had a gift for you. He’d hop off the bench y’all were sitting on and give you a huge stuffed bear from the Nook store. After that he’d take you to the town square where some of his villagers were singing Bubblegum KK.
- Has a large bed so the two of you can ‘snuggle’. His house is pretty ordinary, he keeps all his workout stuff in the back room. He’s the type that uses half his island to store the fish he’s collected to he an turn them in all at once. He’ll spend two-three days collecting fish nonstop, and then selling them to Timmy and Tommy. He see’s it as just a bit of revenge for the insane dept Tom Nook has put everyone in.
- He surprisingly pays close attention to the decor of your home. If there’s something he thinks you’ll like, he’ll build it and then change it’s color so it can fit with your homes aesthetic. Both of you download the nintendo switch app and convert photos of yourselves to put in your homes. He wants to go visit Tamaki, but you try to convince him not to since you know he’ll probably cause the older boy to have an anxiety attack with how hyper he is on the game.
- The two of you decided to be nice and visit Mineta’s island a.k.a “Hentai Island”. As soon at the two of you read the title you knew you were in trouble. His avatar frequently wears a shirt that has abs on it, and somehow it’s more disturbing than Denki’s Bikini dress. He tries to flirt with you in the game “Do I look manly enough for you now (y/n)?” you can basically hear him salivating from the other side of the screen.
- After that you and Kirishima vow never to go back. He’s not allowed on either of your islands either. Kirishima allowed him over once and he just kept staring at one of the pixel images of you Kirishima has on his wall. Luckily, while he was over Kirishima accidentally shook some wasps from a tree, and while he was running away they attacked Mineta.
Tamaki
- Both of you were too busy to pre-order the game, but Fatgum knew how much both you and Tamaki enjoyed Animal Crossing. He had actually caught the two of you playing on your break on your 3DS’s. He knew that some much was going on in your lives due to it being your final school year, plus the ordeal with saving Eri. Thus, he pre-ordered two of the games as a surprise for the two of you.
- However, due to not knowing when you’d get quarantined, once the games arrived he personally mailed them out to the both of you along with a little letter. When the two of you got your copies, you were surprised and ecstatic. Both of you sent a thank you text to Fatgum and began playing right away. Both of you spent a few days to yourselves, wanting to get your island organized and to surprise each other. You tried catching all the butterflies you could to give to Blathers and make the museum’s butterfly garden as nice as it could be!
- Neither you or Tamaki time jump since you want to experience the full calming effect of Animal Crossing. Tamaki honestly feels a bit intimidated by Bam, but he loves Fuchsia. When the two of you finally visit he each other, you insist on going to his island first. He has flowers all around Fuchsia’s home and you could see a few buds sprouting around the new homes that were being built, his way of welcoming his new villagers.
- He’s made a large garden for you at the top of his island, where none of the villagers can really disturb the two of you. Because there’s nothing more awkward than Tamaki spending time with his S/O in a romantic setting and then trying to take them to the secret spot he set up just for Dom to be sitting on the bench meant for the two of you. He doesn’t want to be mean to the villager, however, watches from the side as you pull out your net and start thwacking Dom with it till he moves.
- Tamaki watched Dom leave, before joining you on the bench, and deciding to send the sheep some flowers as an apology for making him move. But like, it was a mini date for the two of you and he really wanted to watch the meteor shower with you from that said spot. And the end of the night you give him the outdoor picnic set you needed cherry blossom petals to make.
- On your island you tried your best to collect as many butterflies as you could along with a few other insects and koi for aesthetics to surprise Tamaki with. He’s honestly shocked with home many butterflies you had caught. With the time frame of some of them it means you’ve probably been up early in the morning to late at night trying to catch specific ones. Blathers probably has nightmares now about butterflies.
- Both of you aren’t really big fans of Tom Nook, but Tamaki loves Isabelle, Timmy and Tommy. Whenever Mirio and Nejire visit, it’s chaotic. The two of you will be chilling in the town square watching Marina sing into the mic that Tamaki set up for her, meanwhile Mirio and Nejire are chasing each other with nets and beating each other over the head. Mirio accidentally plucked one of Tamaki’s flower hybrids and Tamaki quickly clicked the distressed emote.
- Tamaki takes very good care of his plant life, literally going around and watering them everyday. So you were able to replicate the hybrid and planted it in the spot where Mirio had accidentally plucked the other one.
Aizawa
- Due to your busy schedules, Aizawa has a switch lite that he plays on when he’s taking breaks at school or when he’s just resting at home. Meanwhile you have a full on switch. Both of you pre-ordered the game and play it side by side at home. Aizawa is pretty resourceful with his materials, keeping things in his storage as to not waste room and going out to collect more stuff.
- His first two villagers were Rudy and Pashmina. You watched as his eye lit up at Rudy, knowing your boyfriend was crazy for cats. He tries to follow things step by step, collecting items to sell and pay off Tom Nook and steadily becoming frustrated with the more dept the damn raccoon put him in. Meanwhile, you’re using the time jump cheat to get things done quicker and make your island look like legit paradise.
- You’ve went to his island to find him catching fish and trying to give it to Rudy. He doesn’t really use emotes. A good bit of the time you see that he’s online, thus when you go to visit his island you’re surprised to see he’s not greeting you at the docks. You go to his house and you’re not surprised to find his avatar asleep on the bed. You go to the living room to see your boyfriend passed out on the couch, his switch resting against his chest as he snoozes away.
- You frequently bop him in the head with your net when you want attention, because he’s usually focused on completing tasks for Tom Nook and selling items to Timmy and Tommy. You finally stop when he pulls out an ax and just stares at you. You peek up from your switch in your chair in the living room and just see Aizawa glaring at you from the couch. “...I love you.” You’d state with the most innocent look you can muster.
- Barold moves onto Aizawa’s island and AIZAWA WANTS HIM GONE. You’d noticed online how the character had been getting a fair amount of disapproval, but it couldn’t be that bad. Well, Aizawa led you to Barolds house and you were amazed to see the surveillance stuff he has up, and you agree with Aizawa. Boi gotta go.
- You decide to mess with him one day so you send all his students his switch friendship code, and Momo helps you design the schools uniform for the students. Some even make their hero costumes. When he gets on one evening he’s horrified to see all his students sitting in classroom chairs in the center of his island. Some of the villagers are passing by trying to talk to them, and you’re chilling on a bench. You walk over to your boyfriend and pull out a party popper and spray confetti over him yelling “Surprise! They wouldn’t pay attention on Zoom, so I thought they’d pay attention on here!”
- He just stares you down from his side of the bed. You refuse to look up from your switch to meet his irritated gaze.
- You’re not allowed on his island for a week.
