What do you write? I write all kinds of things! I have ideas in honestly too many genres and whatnot at this point, and I hope to someday write them all!

Right now, however, I have two main focuses: spooky short stories, and a novel series! (Though I do have a couple other novel things.)

Tell me about the short stories. My short stories tend to be 3k to 5k on average, and most wind up being horror or horror-adjacent. I tend to describe them as being "Twilight Zone-esque," but most would fit as being called gothic horror.

I have previously published some short stories, but my full legal name is on them so I hesitate to link them here. Regardless, I hope to publish a collection sometime soon!

Tell me about the novel series. Auberon Academy is a four-novel series told through a rotating POV of four main characters. It is a fantasy setting (though a bit more modern fantasy; more or less 1950s tech-wise), but the plot is more of a mystery/thriller.

I'm querying the first novel and have the first draft of the second one finished, and am now starting to draft the third book! What do you do besides writing? Not much. Just kidding.

I'm bad at video games, but I love to play them. A favorite hobby of mine is tabletop role-playing games, my favorites being Call of Cthulhu, Blackbirds, Dungeons & Dragons, and Vampire: The Masquerade! I also love to draw, and several of my story ideas are actually comics!

But lets be honest. Torturing my characters (canonically or otherwise) is my favorite thing to do. What kind of writer would I be if I said anything different?

Wangxian A/B/O Bingo Wrap-Up 2: Gusu Lan Sect

To celebrate finishing the Wangxian A/B/O Bingo series, I wanted to write a few posts talking about the series as a whole, now that that's a thing I can do! If you have a question about any aspect of the series/project, shoot me an ask - I would love to hear from you!

For example, I got the following great ask:

For the A/B/O fics - you clearly played a lot with the Lan Sect being really conservative and prudish and how that interacts with this entire new gender system. What was your favorite version, and were there any other versions or attitudes of the Lan Sect (and perhaps the world at large) that you didn't get to use?

This is such an interesting question because it's absolutely true that the prudishness or lack thereof of the Lan Sect varies a lot between the stories! Gusu Lan's sexual conservatism plays an important role in 3 of the 9 fics: Dangerous (WWX Alpha/LWJ Beta) and Late Bloomer (WWX Omega/LWJ Omega), where that prudishness is a negative force, and Fit for Purpose, where it's actually a good thing; the Lan Sect's strict sexual morality prevents its members from exploiting betas in the way that members of other sects do.

Then there are the fics that don't really emphasize that prudishness, or where it's just not clear. In out with the wolves, LWJ has a lot of shame around his sexual desires, but that's because they're the "wrong" desires according to cultivation society as a whole, not because of Gusu Lan Sect specifically. In And these are all for you, A Sword With No Hilt, and River-to-the-Sea Sure, LWJ doesn't appear to have any particular hang-ups around sex beyond those that were standard for this version of Ancient Fantasy China (i.e., in all three, it's assumed that you shouldn't be having sex outside of marriage and if you do, you should marry the person afterward--but canon makes clear that's not just a Lan thing).

Finally, I would say The Dare and scarcely trust my candid heart both posit a Gusu Lan Sect that's at least somewhat open about sex: in The Dare, the Lan Sect library includes a collection of books about sex that disciples considering marriage can ask to access (including a book that teaches using spiritual music for sex!) and LWJ mentions receiving very practical sex ed; in scarcely trust, there's apparently a lot of giggling about sex in the disciples' dormitories (much to LWJ's annoyance).

All of which is a long prelude to anon's actual questions: what was my favorite version and were there any versions I didn't get to use?

Taking the second part first... no one will believe me, but other than the false start for Alpha WWX/Omega LWJ, this series encompasses all the A/B/O versions of canon that occurred to me! I don't have any others hanging around (although I do have one modern AU Wangxian A/B/O posted and another that I might post someday), so no, there weren't any versions I didn't get to use.

My favorite take on Gusu Lan Sect from this series is definitely Late Bloomer, because I was able to do something with Gusu Lan Sect culture there in a way that shaped the worldbuilding as well as the plot. The concept (that Gusu Lan would teach disciples to suppress their heats as long as possible) drives the whole action of the story by forcing LWJ to have his first heat at an unusually advanced age (with painful consequences) and in wildly terrible circumstances... and it's an A/B/O worldbuilding concept that I haven't seen before but which I think makes a lot of sense. I hope other authors pick it up and run with it!

An Impromptu Mishap

Summary/Prompt: Part 3 to A Sweet Mishap.

Pairing - Jensen Ackles x Reader 

A/N: Merry Christmas Eve to those who -like me- are in countries where you’re celebrating today! This part’s not overly Christmassy, but I just wanted to write another part in this world. Will hopefully continue and expand on this series more in the new year.

You and Jensen continue texting whenever you can around your busy schedules. You consider more than a few times over the weekend to throw caution to the wind and meet up with him in his hotel room or invite him to your apartment. But in the end, you stay strong, stick to your convictions, and text instead. You haven’t yet gotten the courage to call, but even if you had, he’s been pretty busy and the texts have been sporadic with replies coming in hours apart. He did say he had to work, so you figure he’s busy with auditions or meetings. 

One thing you did do is Google his name to find out what he’s starred in. His biggest project appears to be a horror show called “Supernatural”. You consider watching it just to see, but you don’t want to get a false idea of who he is, so you decide to stay blissfully ignorant and try to get to know him for who he is as a person instead. 

It’s almost dark when you finally strip off your apron and hang it on the hook in the staff room. You collect your phone and jacket from your locker and return to the dining area to leave. You check your notifications as you walk, not paying any attention to your surroundings as you’re a little disappointed at the lack of messages from Jensen. As you walk you run into something solid–or perhaps I should say, someone. 

You look up to apologise but you lose all words when you see who it is. You just smile in shock. Even with his cap and dark sunglasses, you committed his frame to memory.

“You really gotta stop running into me like this,” the man says with a laugh.

“Can I buy you a drink to make up for it?”

“As I recall that didn’t end well. Regardless, I can’t stay long, I do have a flight to catch. I just really wanted to see you again before I left.”

“You sure you can’t stay?”

“I’m sure. Someday. Let’s just promise to stay in touch.”

“I promise. At least just let me make you something for the road.”

“You look like you’ve already finished for the day. Go rest. You look exhausted. We’ll talk later.”

“Alright. Have a safe flight.”

He hugs you briefly and then disappears out onto the street and into a dark car. You smile at the whirlwind visit and then go back to your apartment. You throw a microwave dinner in to cook while you shower and change into your PJs. You’re not sure how long his flight will be but by the time you’re sitting on the couch with your dinner in your lap over an hour has passed since you saw him leave. Not knowing when he’ll see the message, you send a text anyway.

It was great to run into you again *literally*... I am sorry about that, I need to watch where I’m going Have a nice flight home or wherever you’re goingText me when you get there 

Not expecting a response until later, you put your phone to sleep and flick through the TV channels. To your surprise, Supernatural is airing. You have no idea what episode or season it is, or what they’re up to, but when Jensen’s face appears on the screen you’re unable to bring yourself to change the channel. Despite your desire to stay ignorant, you just can’t look away. You’re slightly unsettled when his character, who you’ve gathered is called Dean, slices off someone or something’s head. But even he makes that attractive. Every expression on his face has you even more engrossed. He tells the story so well even though you don’t really know what the full story is. His taller brother in the show is also incredibly attractive. The longer you watch, the more you find yourself not caring about the plot and just enjoying the eye candy instead. Part of you feels a little guilty for looking and thinking about Jensen like that when he seems like such a nice, genuine guy in real life. And he genuinely seems interested in pursuing a friendship — or hopefully more — with you in the future. 

Once the episode ends you force yourself to switch off the TV, clean up and go to bed; you have an early shift tomorrow. As you lay in bed, the images of Dean – or Jensen – flow through your head. Unable to sleep you decide to text him again.

The Ranma 1/2 remake is giving me feelings

That's right. In this era of anime remakes, Ranma 1/2 is stepping up to the plate and will be animated by Studio Mappa! I do like me some works by Mappa. I just saw the new OP for it and so much of it refers directly back to the original OP, including keeping a few key animation sequences! I dunno - I don't want to be disappointed by it but at the same time I want to watch it.

Out of all of the remakes bouncing around this one pulls at me the most. Sure, I was all on board with Sailor Moon Crystal ten years ago but Ranma 1/2 was the first manga I ever bought! The nostalgia and continued love of the series is strong within me.

It is definitely hitting different seeing that this was my first manga series ever. I put a Shampoo sticker in my Ti-34 calculator which only recently went on the fritz at the ripe old age of twenty-eight and is still in my desk at work. I have a Ranma 1/2 poster still in my old closet at my parents' house (someday I should actually, you know, grab it), I bought fan art at Anime Expo in 2022 and even this summer I got a Ranma double sided charm from a local artist at an Asian food festival who also tables at local cons/art markets. I have to admit, I got all excited for the Trigun reboot and if you've been reading along you know I was incredibly disappointed. And you also have a rough estimate of my age based on when I watched it originally as a fan sub. Yet if there is any series that can be used to date me it is Ranma 1/2 since I bought all of my manga before university. I oddly kept telling myself I'd round out the collection when I got older and had more money to complete it. I never did and it has remained a mess of the original Viz editions. Behold! The first English edition of Ranma 1/2 in the left-to-right, hand lettered, and redrawn sound effects all in English.

Volume 1 cost $16.95 when I bought it which would have worked out to a whopping $33 adjusted for inflation, with a publication date of May 1993. Purchasing those early volumes from Viz was not for the faint of heart or those with shallow pockets. This is reminding me why I never back filled volumes 5-7 within my own collection, coming in at $15.95 each. I'm pretty sure that a few of them were likely Christmas presents as well . . .

These editions are what eventually came to match the size of the Viz Signature versions like Maison Ikkoku and Gokinjo Monogatari. These are hefty books and have held up pretty well over the years.

So I now find myself in the exact same position I was in before Trigun Stampede - do I reread the manga and finish it off since I likely only read the first third of it? And then do I take the time to review the new anime from Mappa?

Unlike Trigun which required me to start from scratch having only watched the anime, I've read up to volume 12 of the original manga and filled in the gaps by watching the original anime back in 2014/2015 to around where I'd read it - I think.

One of the issues is that I have the old format for it where there are no chapter numbers like it would have run in the weekly magazine to directly compare with. Viz did a really weird format since it started out as a comic with different arcs and parts and all mine have part 1-13/14 per volume. If I'm not mistaken, there were two subsequent editions of Ranma 1/2 in English; a right-to-left reprint of the original Japanese tankobon with the sequential chapter numbers from the magazine which then was later bundled into a 2 in 1 edition also in the right-to-left format.

Going by chapter names, I'm going to check out various volumes of the 2 in 1 edition from my local library and hope they line up to cover my gaps and then continue onward from chapter 142, The Mark of the Gods.

I also read the edition which really struggled to describe okonomiyaki to a non-Japanese reader. For several years, my young mind tried to square how they were like pizza when they were made on a griddle but had lots of toppings?!?!

I still don't know why the translators chose to localize it this way. They could have simply called it a savory pancake and it would have solved a lot of reader confusion.

It wasn't until university when I was hanging out with friends that I had the chance to make real okonomiyaki (a friend's roommate was Japanese) and the first thing I blurted out was something along the lines of "Like Ukyo from Ranma!" Granted, Ukyo was one of my fav characters at the time. Anyhoo, perhaps I'll do some meta posts as I read the manga and build up to watching the new anime. I don't think I'll have it in me to compare to the original anime since I read the manga long before watching the anime here in there for about fifteen years. I'm also curious to compare the later English editions with mine to see if there are some minor differences or not. I haven't seen the solid colored books like mine since I bought them in the first place.

nintendo direct thoughts

makes sense that nintendo wasn't going to let mario and luigi die even if alphadream did. anyway, after all these years dream team is still the only mario and luigi game that i've finished (about a decade ago. wtf). someday i should finish superstar saga (by which i mean: play almost the entire thing) and play the ds ones. absolutely not ready for a new one. so it's kind of funny they're releasing it on my birthday considering it'd be years before i even think about playing it

link between worlds and link's awakening remake are my favorite zelda games so i was already excited seeing the trailer for the new game before they showed zelda is the protagonist. looks really good, even though the idea of fighting enemies with those mechanics seems like it could be intimidating

FINALLY they're localizing the best ace attorney game in the series. i'd been thinking before that if they released an investigations collection i'd probably get it since i love those games and uh. i guess i will (but unless it's out here physically i'd definitely wait until capcom puts it on sale for at least 50% off, because they always do that)

and of course they can't move on to the next console without releasing metroid prime 4 first. certainly looks like a metroid prime game

Let's talk, besties! Here's what's going on with me.

Feeling a bit of a burnout with writing. Don't misunderstand me - I'm still writing. I'm just chasing different stories right now.

Most of you guys know - I've been really open about this - that I've been struggling to find a job for almost 2 years now. Well, I finally got an opportunity. It starts training on May 1 but I'm pretty...skeptical because I've been screwed over so many times. I should note that there is nothing that suggests that this is a screwover but I'm just pessimistic at this point.

That's going to do one of two things - either I'm going to be writing a lot more or a lot less. I'm hoping it's the former.

I have like 100 stories in development currently and I get more and more ideas every day. Some of these are fanfic, some of them are probably going to be publications. Keep an eye here and at @coleslibrary for any updates or new publishing announcements.

My first three books are all available on Amazon currently and the next one will be there as well. I'm going to go ahead and say that instead of minor rewrites and name changes, this next one, the rewrite of Sounds of Someday, is going to be a whole new story. The basic plot will stay the same but so many details are going to be changed that it's going to read as all new.

Master lists are going to be posting throughout the next month. Mostly actor specific ones that I've been having in my drafts for far too long. They will be updated accordingly.

Most of my upcoming stuff will be collections - stories set in the same universe that don't have to be read together and contain multiple main characters. The first of those is my country club collection - A Drive For Love - starting with Golf Pro Bradley Bradshaw.

Last year I promised a Dad!Jake series. Well, good news on that front. I'm about halfway through writing the series. You'll Be In My Heart should be debuting in the next month or so. It does have to go back through my betas but each chapter will be a different POV and will vary in word count but will contain one scene. The FMC has been changed from a reader to an OC. I'm sure this will affect readership but I don't really care.

I think that's about it on that front. I want to send out a couple of shoutouts to a couple of people before I finish here.

First, @princessmisery666, Stacey, babe, I don't know what I'd do without you. You've become the Opie to my Jax, the level headed guiding light to my chaotic ways. Though you do encourage some of my more angsty ideas and I love you for that. I love you, period. I got this. 💞

To @ryebecca. You're my twinsie and my sounding board. You help my rational brain take over the emotional side more often than not and never make me feel bad for having a different opinion. I love you mostest.

To @imjess-themess and @blue-aconite. You two beautiful souls keep me grounded on days where I'm trying to dissociate all the time. I know you don't realize the things you do to help my mental state lately but just know that the two of you mean the world to me. I love you both.

@fuckyeahhangman. What can I say about your gorgeous face other than I absolutely love it like a cat loves sunshine.

@wildbornsiren My swamp gremlin. The amount of times I've turned to you when I've had a bad day is steadily increasing and I am so grateful for your acceptance of my insanity. I love you!

And last but certainly not least @never--doubt. I know I say it all the time, but I'm so proud of you and so thankful for your friendship. You're like the little sibling I always wanted and I'm so happy that we found one another through this hellsite.

bookworm

i’m so glad to be a bookworm. something i owe to my mom who tried her best to raise me as such. she gave to me more than a child could ever ask for, such as a large bookshelf packed with various books, even before i could actually read. and once i did learn, i was unstoppable as it became my lifelong special interest. i was known for having my face pressed into a book most of the time and often i got into trouble at school for being so distracted. i didn’t really care though. i was just happy to switch books at the library quicker than the other kids did.

by age 9 i was so influenced by books that i wanted to publish one myself. i’ve written many stories over the years, and while i have other goals i’m working towards at the moment, i still hold on to my dream of becoming a published author someday.

honestly, i’m comforted by having come from a line of bookish women. my grandma spent years of her life collecting all sorts of books, most of them antique by now. she collected until she made a mini library of her home. walk down the hall and you’ll pass a couple stacks of books seated on the floor. whenever i visit my grandparents i look through a section of the books, hoping to find something new to borrow. my favorite find was the art of food by claire clifton, which i still have sitting on my own bookshelf now.

my mom has fond memories of buying her favorite book series as a child - the black stallion by walter farley - and finishing books in a day. we try to find time to settle in a cafe and just read our separate books for a little while. my aunt used to carry a bag with her that was filled simply with books, which i started to do myself with an old virginia woolf tote bag mom handed down to me. my aunt and i love to talk on our commute to work about the books we’re reading, want to read, and books we recommend to one another. i’m so grateful to share a passion like this with my family. we also love various art forms, animals, gardening, and music, but books have stuck with us the most.

actually i just had a book arrive in the mail a couple days ago, one i’ve been wanting for a long while now - all quiet on the western front by erich remarque. i’m on the fourth chapter and i love it, which is new for me as i don’t generally like war movies or books. it’s just so poetic in how it describes the emotions war brings on young men. it’s sitting next to me on my bed right now, with a stack of sticky notes i use to mark my favorite pages on top.

to get so lost in a book that the emotions it evokes leave you just pondering for a few minutes at the end, wondering what to do next, to hold a book in hand and enjoy the feeling and even the smell of it, to explain books you love to another person. it’s just the best feeling in the world. i’m beginning thinking i should start a bookish instagram to show book hauls, reviews, and recommendations. i don’t know, i might just do it.

So, before I start distracting myself once again, let's go on with what's quickly becoming the best part of my day.

Is this sad?

I didn't want to do a thing today. That's usually most of my days, but I woke up early without reason, was (still am) bummed because my ankle hurts, probably won't start new courses I'm excited about next week because of that, and, well, just usual Saturday moods, y'know?

I passed part of the day unnecessarily refining a page I made here for my personal campaign, then wanted to do the same with Linney's, but I'm still not posting my advances, so it won't be really good if I go share things there without posting. I like having an order.

So I also passed a time wishing around for more people playing Iron Valley and discovering this kind of directory I made and also wanting to put their characters there so my beautiful and made-with-love form will have... some love.

Yeah, I was kind of set on Iron Valley today, but curiously, I didn't want to write about it.

After watching two chapters of one hour each, I decided I had enough and needed to sit down to write. Because I won't go anyway with my plans if I don't make progress. So I needed to make progress, no matter how little it could be.

So I just fought against ten of those

because I'm still collecting wood and are the easier ones to fight. I like easy.

I still have a lot of wood to get, so we're going to see no one else for a while.

that was the last one of my scheduled series, but I know I at least have three more that I should make and do and schedule, so... we're not yet finished with this (will we someday?)

Also, parenthesis: would someone want to... pay me for doing my job? It seems like I'm catching on no one no matter how many posts I do and I'm starting to feel doubt and all those things you shouldn't feel. I'm a proofreader, beta reader, writing coach, assistant of creation (ideas, worldbuilding, backstory, whatever), and I'm good and I'm cheap, so why does no one want to work with me? Okay, rant off.

I also did my job, which is the reason for this whole thing.

Chapter 5 is ready to be worked with and things are starting to go off the hook. What the hell was I thinking when I wrote that? I'm starting to feel disgusted at the writing of the 2015~2016 me, no matter how young and innocent was I then.

Thinking this way... I'm not sure if I would ever work with the novel and the sequel I wrote in 2011 then... I'm genuinely scared now.

So... I'm satisfied, slowly advancing one chapter per day with this new project as expected. I don't want to celebrate yet because I'm just starting, but each step taken is enough reason to celebrate, right?

I should be happy more often.

My To-Do Fanfic List

Here are the ideas and in-progress/hiatus stories I have for TMNT.

In-progress (but not currently working on):

A Turtle's Heart: This one is a human AU of the 2012 turtles. I posted the first two on Fanfiction.net, but I want to edit them and put them on AO3 instead.

Tsuma Series: this is a fantasy AU, no version in particular, but I'm considering turning it into an original someday. It's currently on Fanfiction.net, but depending on if I keep it as a fanfic or not, it may not be transferred to AO3.

Spaced Out: From the Sewer to the Stars: Star Wars/TMNT!2012 crossover. It's on AO3 right now, but I haven't been adding chapters.

Filling the Void: 2007 portal story, OC ends up in their world from ours. I know there's more I could write for it, but the main story is finished on AO3. There are a few short fics that go with it.

One shots: I have short fics on Fanfiction.net I want to move to AO3, and they'll be in a one shot collection, probably.

Ideas:

Mandalorian Turtles: another Star Wars crossover, but this one is where the turtles grew up in the SW Galaxy, and were raised Mandalorians. Not version specific.

'07 & '12 crossover: 2012 turtles end up in the 2007 turtle universe, after both the movie and show are finished.

Titian Splinterson: idea I had to write my own version of the turtles, with an additional turtle, specifically Leo's twin. He has a one shot on Fanfiction.net right now, but I might make it something more.

Introduction (Temporary)

Hello, friends.

I've had a Bionicle fanfiction since I was a child, shortly before the series ended. I've come in and out of working on it for a few years at a time randomly since then. I've decided to start storing my ramblings of the story online, so I won't as easily lose bits and pieces.

When I first picked up the series, I sped-read through all of the books retained about 30% of the information, and then made an intense fanfiction based on that for about 2 years, and then dropped it for some other fandom. Every few years since, I would randomly pick up the series again, speed-read through it, retain a partially overlapping 30% of the information, and then retcon the story.

The current iteration will be shared on this blog bit-by-bit, including fanfics I created years ago, and new story today. I'm not going to share one direct story, since many of the details of the early adventures were lost in the cringy child-me's memory. I'm going to start where I am currently in the story, and then just give random pieces of information to help piece the story together- connecting the beginning with the current.

I will also create a masterlist post that links to the various references.

Overall, the story begins with this:

Long ago, the planet Spherus Magna was shattered by war and conflict. The inhabitant sapient races could not agree, could not civilize. The Great Beings, a group of mysterious scientists, decided that this would not do. The people must learn civility- but from where?

It was decided that, with the guidance of the Great Beings, a robot should be created. This robot, dubbed the Great Spirit, or Mata Nui, was sent into the galaxy to observe the way other cultures run. This robot would house inside it a world of robots to maintain it. Once the Mata Nui was finished observing, it would return, fix the broken Spherus Magna, and present the information it had obtained.

One Great Being who took the name "Velika" hid himself if the Mata Nui. For his own amusement, he edited the programming of the Mata Nui, causing all beings inside it to be slowly provided the information Mata Nui was obtaining. Bit by bit, the little robots became more sapient, more aware.

Then, trouble struck. Now and then, inhabitants of the Great Spirit rose up against him in rebellion, only to be defeated by his more loyal followers. However, one known as Makuta Teridax took the upperhand, took over the robot, and cast Mata Nui's spirit away. The two rematched on Spherus Magna, where the planet was reformed in their brawl, but at the cost of the death of the original Mata Nui robot, its head smashed open.

The head that stored thousands of years of information on culture that it had collected. The planet was restored- but at what cost? Without that information, the inhabitants of Spherus Magna would simply rise in war again someday all over again.

And this, was when the Great Beings realised something peculiar: the little robot inhabitants of the Mata Nui had culture. They had traditions, emotions, feelings- they were never meant to be this way. The Great Beings learned that the information Mata Nui had collected, the information they needed to bring peace to Spherus Magna, was safe in the minds of the Matoran, Vortixx, Steltians, Toa, and all of the other races. All the Great Beings needed to do was let them go and live, and study their ways.

And so, the Great Beings converted the robots into Bio-organic beings and let them free.

ohh, that's too bad about your computer not being able to play dreamlight valley! i have heard that the game is supposed to have a mobile version, but i'm not sure if it's been released yet or not, so that could be something to look into. also, i can totally see that about tarzan wanting to dive right in and learn about everything around him. i'm sure that if jane were there with him she'd also be really excited to show him new things and help him with anything he didn't understand. oof, yeah, i didn't wanna be too harsh about wish in case you were still really looking forward to the movie, but i admit that my mixed feelings about it are more on the negative side. i like a couple of the songs, but they're riddled with strange and poorly written lyrics (for example, "i'm a star, watch out world here i are" or "i let you live here for free and i don't even charge rent") and some of them sound so generic that i just feel like i've already heard them before. after seeing the concept art and hearing about some of the ideas that didn't make it in, i ended up feeling like the movie had a lot of missed potential. it's a shame, especially since this was disney's 100th anniversary film. there is one other tarzan reference besides the shoutout in the credits, though, so definitely look out for that when you watch it! that's true about mark mancina, i see a lot of praise for tarzan's soundtrack that's specifically about phil collins, but mark created such a good score to go with his work. i'm really glad he got to work on moana as well. ooh i see, that does all sound pretty interesting! i love to read as well and pretty much always have a long list of things i'd like to read, and never enough time for all of them LOL. but i'll definitely have to add the tarzan novels to that list and try to check them out someday. are there any other tarzan movies you enjoy besides disney's version? -🌟

I looked, and is is available through Apple Arcade… but same problem, don't have a compatible device, lol. Not into computers/phones/etc enough to try and keep up with the latest. Would rather stretch my devices as long as I can and save the money for my collection. Oh well, maybe someday I'll play it. Would be so awesome to see more of Jane helping Tarzan learn new things though!

I agree with you on the lyrics, some of them are so bad!! I remember hearing those lines for the first time and feeling embarrassed for them. They sound like they're from a cheap bootleg ripoff, not from the most prestigious animation company in the world. They should be ashamed of themselves, they used to have incredible song lyrics.

That's awesome there's one other Tarzan reference though!! A very good reason to give it a watch!

Mark's score for Tarzan and Brother Bear are so beautiful. As soon as I saw he was doing Moana I knew I was going to love it!

Ah, the pain of never having enough time to read… and it always seems that when you do, you can't find anything to read! I'm currently halfway through the Asian Saga by James Clavell. I've read those books so many times I've lost count. I was about a third of the way through Shogun when I found out that there's a new FX series based on the book that's going to be on Disney+ at the end of February! Although I've finished reading Shogun since, I'm trying to finish reading the other 5 books before the series starts… I don't think I'm going to make it, lol.

I hope you enjoy the Tarzan novels if you get to read them!!

I haven't seen many other Tarzan movies, but I did really enjoy Greystoke with Christopher Lambert and Andie MacDowell. Of the ones I've seen it feels the closet to the books. And it has an unexpected connection to the Disney version… Andie MacDowell's voice was dubbed by Glenn Close, so it's like seeing Jane and hearing Kala!

Growing up I watched the Tarzan tv series starring Wolf Larson and Lydie Denier, which was my first introduction to Tarzan. It takes place in more modern times, and Jane was French in it. I watched it again a few years ago, and it was definitely not as good as I remember it being. But as a kid I found it thrilling, used to stay up until 3 am every Saturday to watch it!
