Here is my OC, Vihi. Got any ideas where she might fit into your little AU? Like, what characters she might vibe with more, etc. Just curious.

I know, only the Ga Matoran are female in the lore, but i always found that part to be a little weird and limiting, since elements don’t have gender. So, i just went with making her female, because why not.

I don't generally add other people's MOCs in my story, but I did a little doodle of her.

Kopaka has gotten into painting recently, so Vihi is trying to build up the courage to introduce herself to her patron Toa Nuva and show him her latest sketch-scroll. She can be bold, but even to a bold Matoran, this is a difficult first step into a long artistic friendship with such a renowned Toa.

(Also, in my HC, when they were turned organic, the sexes were also evened out. So, it fits my canon that she'd be a female Ko-Matoran: She would have been one of the Matoran who was switched to female when she was converted organic).

My OCs

I talk about my OCs and then I somehow still talk about Bionicle because several of my OCs are just Bionicle I comandeered.

You do not understand the way this fandom has directed my life choices.

Other fandoms that I will hyperfixated on for a few years, and then somehow I end up back on Spherus Magna. Seriously, my obsession comes back every 3-5 years like clockwork.

This is why I often depict Zaraki riding Reidak's back. She doesn't understand, but by allowing her to ride him, he's using her in case he needs to access his powers.

In my HC, there is a sweetspot age for Skakdi kids where their contact can activate an adult's elements, and the kid isn't too heavy to be carried around. Skakdi parents often grab and carry their kids into combat at this age.

Thinking a lot about skakdi and touch since I started working on MGST again.

Its such a fascinating idea, that skakdi can access elemental powers when "working in tandem" with each other, but that doesn't happen often because skakdi are such treacherous bastards.

Are the elemental powers a fact thats well known, but no one trusts each other enough to do it? Or is it almost completely unknown?

It leaves juuust enough open for interpretation and analysis, like a lot of Bionicle's concepts, which is my absolute favorite part of this franchise.

Since skakdi can't use the powers outright, its very likely they would have to touch or hold some part of each other for the latent powers to work.

They are very violent with each other from the offset, so a gentle, unthreatening touch would be heartachingly uncommon with them.

Adding on their toxic-masculine attitude, they likely don't talk about their feelings either. The amount of unresolved emotion simmering just beneath the surface of every single one of them must be staggering.

A friend asked how I did the wings in my Vamprah cosplay.

Both wings are all one piece. I don't have the floorspace right now to spread them out in their entirety.

The wings are made of felt (with some spraypaint for the silver markings), the straps are fabric, the wing fingers are cardboard inside felt pockets, and the hand armour is EVA foam glued to cardboard. All of my armour was EVA foam alone, or EVA foam glued to a cardboard base.

Because of the wrist straps, I don't have to hold the fingers if I don't want to/need to use my hands. I can choose to hold just the top finger, both fingers, or neither finger. Any finger I don't hold will just hang limply at my wrist.

The "Fingers" contain strips of cardboard to let them keep their shape, but still provide a bit of flexibility for realism when they flap. I sewed pockets into the fabric. I then glued several strips of cardboard together to make a somewhat strong finger bone, and slid that into the pocket.

Since actual bats have digits in their wing fingers, their wing fingers bend a bit when flapping.

The consequence, though, is it makes the wings much weaker than they would be if they had normal, stable structural elements. The cardboard may need to be replaced semi-frequently. In my upcoming improvements, I plan on adjusting the pockets to be openable, so the cardboard can be traded out, or I'll just use foam strips instead.

These are the hand claws. I based them off the wrong Lego Claw piece, because I didn't notice until after the fact that my Vamprah set had been broken and put back together with the wrong pieces at some point.

The two straps inside go in the palm of my hand, or the first goes in my palm and the second goes on my wrist, either way. I don't have to hold the hand armour up at all, as the straps do all that for me, so my fingers are free to manipulate the wings or anything I want to hold. The hand armour also lacks a wall on the bottom, opposite where the claw is, so my fingers and wing finger can move. The top wing finger just rests against the armour wall, so its resting state has it bent in a little compared to the bottom wing finger. This is also somewhat realistic, as bat fingers don't rest completely parallel anyway (the joints and muscles get in the way).

I was also wearing normal black gloves under this.

Disclaimer, there are some risk to this. I have blood pressure problems, and I am currently still suffering a pinched nerve from holding my hand like that for a long period of time. By the time I left Brickfair (after about 3 hours), my fingers were partially numb due to how I had been twisting my wrist and supporting so much with my fingers. Cosplay at your own risk.

My favourite HC about this is that the touch absolutely doesn't have to be consensual. (You need their consent for their element to be combined, but not just to use them to use your own power).
