#i seriously don't get why he dropped Michael from being even mentioned so fast

Great now I'm thinking about Clarisse and Michael again.

We know from Michael's interaction with Percy later at Williamsburg Bridge that after Clarisse still refused to join the fight after getting the chariot, that he said some "choice words"

Knowing him, probably cussed her out a bit gdgdg

But honestly, I'm imagining him also calling her out on caring too much about her pride than lives

Because, for all the fighting to keep the chariot,we don't really know what was happening between getting the chariot and BoM. Other than Beckendorf's death.

And we see Michael's pride isn't something that he's completely obsessed with. If anything, his pride seems to be centered more on his cabin than himself. We don't know what it took to get the chariot, but I'm sure his cabin fought hard in the battle. Of course he'd want to keep it, his siblings earned that.

Clarisse's seems a little more focused on her own pride or the image of her cabin. She led the battle, so she thinks that the Chariot should be hers. Despite the fact they probably wouldn't have the Chariot if the Apollo cabin hadn't taken it, and as archers a flying Chariot is much more suited to their fighting style.

For how people talk about Michael, even in the books, he doesn't seem to be on the same level of attitude/aggression as Clarisse.

I think he just matches what he's given.

Clarisse is the one who started the fight with the chariot. That's why Annabeth specifically says she'll come to her senses. Because the Apollo cabin are just defending what's their's, maybe aggressively but they have even Chiron supporting that the chariot should be their's. Michael is being more on the defensive in a loud way. It's why no one goes to him and tells him to just give into Clarisse, heck Percy assumes Michael would still have the chariot during BoM. No one wants to just let Clarisse run over the Apollo cabin's achievements. Especially not Michael who's only been Head Counselor for a year.

Yet, Michael is the first to step away from it. But he doesn't let Clarisse just get by with still putting her pride first. He gives her choice words, likely out of lot of emotion, then just leaves.

And he dies. He dies defending Manhattan and his peers against Kronos. He let's Percy push him out of the way on Olympus, he doesn't fuss other than a sarcastic comment when Percy pretty much has Annabeth take over organizing his cabin. He let's Percy make the calls once he's on the scene, continuing to fight when he was just about to retreat. Than retreating when Percy actually orders a retreat. Only to come back when he sees Percy on his own after Annabeth is hurt.

He dies making sure Kronos doesn't get past them. Armed with nothing but one arrow and an idea.

And when Clarisse finally gets to the Battle, it's because her cabin and Silena left without her. She goes berserk on battle more so out of grief than duty.

I really do wish we got to see her reaction to learning about Michael's death/disappearance. Obviously she's had guilt over Silena's death. But she got to say goodbye. She got to be there for her and avenge her.

The last words she heard from Michael was likely him cussing her out.

Idk, just something about it hits. Really I don't think Michael necessarily hated Clarisse, I think he was disappointed and upset. And I feel like Clarisse would take his death hard, at least feel pretty guilty. Especially if she was close to him before hand. Heck even if she had just been close to Lee, she would feel lot of guilt for not being there to help his siblings.

And even more so. The last words they ever shared was out of anger.

And she'll never get to apologize.

This is just a theory, don't take it seriously.

1. Zoey made it clear why she's helped MC because she saw potential in MC, only her can stand up to Poppy. Zoey strategized for MC, dress her up, introduce her to her connections, she made her. MC is like a headfigure, while Zoey is the mind of everything.

2. Isn't weird that Zoey doesn't recognized Professor Kingsley at the bar where MC and Ina met? MC described her and even mention her name, but she didn't warn MC that they have a "fun" teacher who happened to be MC's first class the next day, has the same name as the stranger she met. That's weird for someone who knows alot. Theory, Zoey probably set that up so she can hold a leverage on MC when things go wrong. If MC and Prof. Kingsley met at school, Ina will hold back because she knows MC is her student. But if they met before knowing she's one of her student they can build connection faster without her morals getting in the way. It's weird that she keep pushing MC to Ina. Now, regarding your relationship with Professor Kingsley, X will use her against MC but never Zoey.

3. Poppy bribed MC to join her posse and to ditch the "deadweight" Zoey. But why? Does Poppy hold a grudge against Zoey too? Could Poppy and Zoey have known esch other before Belvoire?

4. About Zoey's past. It's no surprise how Poppy find out about her shoplifting record, what strange is that she knows what she exactly stole. Sparkly pink nail polish that seems like something Poppy would use. My theory Poppy was one of the girls who made her shoplift as her hazing to be part of their friend group.

5. Regarding what path you choose, good girl or bad girl path. Your MC will start acting like Poppy. And she will call you and Poppy two faced if you pick good girl path. I'm not sure about bad girl path. Which is I agreed, I think the default path for this book is the bad girl one, you know how MC thinks of everyone. She's calling names and dissing everyone inside her head. We are given option to hook up with Poppy and if you pick the good girl path she will be disappointed if you are having second thoughts on exposing Poppy's mom. So she made X persona to take down Poppy and MC.

6. I think X brought Selene in Belvoire to remind MC what she used to be before becoming Queen B. Considering how fast Selene's popularity climbing to the top, just like the way MC when she was a newbie.

7. According to Poppy X is someone obsessed with her, someone she scrubbed the existence. MC were thinking she's just being delusional but I think it made sense. X always mention that she's a bottom feeder/underdog, obviously X is someone who hates dictators like Poppy and MC.

8. In the previous chapter Poppy showed list of people on her blocklist and Zoey was one of them but not MC. During the murder game, every hopeful except Poppy receive a text from X to eliminate MC but Poppy haven't receive the text because she blocked X.

9. Whoever X is, I think she hired a ghostwriter. So she can post on T while being around MC. Base on X last post one of them is Benji. He could be the one who hacked the T. And dissolve the rankings.

10. Theory, Persephone could be Zoey's first "head figure" she made her join Zeta to get back at Poppy but failure because she fell inlove with Liam and he prevented her for going after Poppy. If I remember it correctly Zoey mention Persephone in the first chapter of book 1, as the girl dropped out because of Poppy, then she mention her again when Poppy told her about Persphone Dalton.

11. X is definitely not Liam or Benji.

12. Who do you think idcfitemeXO? I always believe in "save the best for the last", this last minion could be a bigger fish(important character). According to Michael, they don't know each other, they just know the usernames. But according to idcfitemeXO that MC and X have mutual or 2. That means she knows the X's minions and probably X too, she could be X most trusted and useful minion(probably because she's an insider). I don't know but I'm suspecting Veronica being the last minion, maybe because the username fits her persona and among MC's posse Veronica always disinterested, she always on her phone. Another thing is, she always on the book cover but her character isn't remarkable as Chloe's. I always forget who Veronica is because her character doesn't add much on the plot. Maybe she will become important later.

13. If you accused Lexi, Liam and Selene as X Zoey will explain why she doesn't think they're X but when you accused Poppy, she will turn down the idea without explaining why like she's offended that the idea crosses your mind. 😅

Zoey being X is quite farfetch, knowing Choices, LIs are goody good shoes. My second guess is Persephone, it could be mama Wade, Selene(thought it's predictable) and dean Steinhelm.
