Best thing about going through the Larry timeline/proofs the last couple months as someone who has no personal attachment to anyone of the boys from the beginning is seeing how poorly some debunks are done. I’ll see a something which clearly points to Larry being real, and then there will always be someone saying that the clip is out of context/people are making stuff up. And yeah sometimes that’s true but more often than not when I find the full clip it makes it even more obvious lol.

Like the anchor and rope tattoos, someone said the anchor was just a cover up and wasn’t matching. I looked up the old tattoo that H had and low and behold another pair of extremely telling matching tattoos in the exact same spots.

I think antis who are screaming about debunks often aren't very well-informed. There are definitely a lot of newer larries using wrong information as "proofs," and so much of it has been debunked BY LARRIES already. I must have commented on at least half a dozen TikToks recently debunking that Another Man rumor that the collar Harry wore was his own. It makes me insane that old stuff is still floating around.

Listen, there's so much proof that they were/are a couple; we don't need to keep circulating debunked, stupid stuff.

Hello! I think the best I can offer anyone who missed it is this masterpiece that I did not compile, highlighting the highlights. BUT YEAH, the real pain comes in the aftermath--these two were clearly tight (lovahs? good friends??) until the "gucci modeling tree" post (which was definitely the breaking/up point; Nick moved on that week), then the snide "promo" around Fine Line on Nick's part, which morphed into the complete absence of any mention of Harry (his bittersweet "appearance" on Nick's final radio show, fucking ouch). 8-Bit with a robot partner ���

~ For starters, it took a LONG time to get 8-Bit to want anything to do with you. Much less than if you were a human, but still, you really had to bide your time with him.

~ He was very reluctant to talk past any simple small talk, and his usual speaking patterns kept his replies vague and sort of mysterious, in a way.

~ If you ever get him to open up, you’re probably the first person (robot?) to ever do so. And that’s exactly why he catches feelings for you.

~ He definitely doesn’t understand his feelings at first— he thinks that since he’s an arcade cabinet, he shouldn’t feel anything romantic. But after some soul searching and self help (google) he comes to the conclusion that he does, in fact, have a crush on you.

~ Would he ever confess to you? No. Not in a million years would he ever take the risk of losing the one person that he could talk to and rely on. Thankfully, you’re willing to take that risk!

~ When you confess to him, he is bewildered. He cannot fathom that someone would like him back. It’s a miracle he didn’t blow a fuse when you told him, whether it be in person or through any other means.

~ 8-Bit is very nervous at the start of the relationship, but he tries his best. Chances are good you would be his first for everything. But with nurturing and reassurance, he quickly gets over his anxiety after the first initial month or so.

~ He tries his hardest to keep his temper cool around you, and tells you time and time again that if he gets mad, it isn’t your fault. If he ever yelled at you, he would delete all his code immediately.

~ Despite all his rage, he loves playing co-op games with you, or just watching you play a game. As small tokens of love, he’ll buy you games you like/want, dlc, even merchandise of your favorite franchises. I wouldn’t say gift giving is his love language, he just likes spoiling you from time to time.

~ Regarding physical touch, it takes him quite a while to get used to it. You would have to start small, with just hand holding, then slowly ease your way into cuddling or anything of the sort.

~ He appreciates that your also a robot, meaning you can relate more to… whatever issues robots have. This also means 8-Bit is a lot more knowledgeable on robot first aid, and should something go wrong, he can easily patch you up.

~ Overall, it’s a lengthy process, but in the end 8-Bit does love you and cares for you a lot. It might be hard for him to properly express it, but he isn’t opposed to leaving you love notes around the place for you to find.

~ Another stubborn, angry robot.

~ It’s real hard to talk to him. Harder than it is for 8-Bit, because Lawrie already has a best friend— Larry. He doesn’t see a need to be buddy buddy with anyone else.

~ You still try, and try… and try. Making any excuse to see him, to bring him anything he likes, help him with small errands… Yet he just sees you as an acquaintance.

~ That’s not to say he doesn’t find you attractive, or a potential partner. Oh no, he’s crushing *hard*, but he is just amazing at covering it up.

~ He gets all his gushing out to Larry, who has to bear to hear it all (he loves seeing his brother so happy).

“God, and you know what they did today?!”

~ The longer you stick around, the more open Lawrie gets. Slowly, over the course of a month, his little crush turns into a like. A *like like*.

~ Unlike 8-Bit, Lawrie actually *will* ask you out. But very discreetly. He asks if you would stay with him for longer, just to keep him company while sorting through files and other mundane tasks. After a week of this, he’ll finally ask you out on a date, but “just as friends”…

~ Dinner dates aren’t really… applicable to robots such as yourselves. So, you opt to roam Starr Park past his shift. He offers to pay for just about everything, since he was the one to ask you out anyway (and definitely not because he likes you haha…)

~ If you touch him at all, he’ll react with annoyance, but that is most definitely not how he feels… at all.

~ After the first date, he tells Larry all about it, who then encourages Lawrie to ask you to be his partner. Lawrie is very skeptical at first, and really doubts Larry’s advice, but goes for it anyway.

~ He asks you casually whenever your around his work, hardly batting an eye on the outside. But trust me, he’s freaking out internally. When you say yes, he genuinely gets flustered and turns red (can robots blush…?). He accidentally says “thank you”.

~ In a relationship, Lawrie isn’t all that bad. He sets in place some basic boundaries for the both of you, in an almost formal meeting delivery. This is mostly just to avoid future issues.

~ Unlike his brother, Lawrie is not very touchy, especially at first. It takes him almost two weeks to ask to hold your hand, and another week to… sort of kiss you? Whatever the robot equivalent is.

~ He isn’t one to spontaneously purchase gifts for you— he keeps that for when you two go out together. Instead, he prefers doing small acts of service for you, like taking on chores (even if you don’t live together) and bringing you drinks or food while watching movies together. He gives you prince(ss) treatment.

~ The only problems I can foresee is him being too harsh or rough at times. If you two are play fighting, he might accidentally shoot a rubber band at you too hard or hurt you in some way. He honestly doesn’t mean to, and always makes sure your okay and holds you after.

~ In all, he’s a good man. Larry is so happy his brother finally found someone, because honestly… he never thought Lawrie would.

But then I scrolled down to see: "BYF, please know i make death threats toward ppl and make KYS jokes."

Like you can't handle people who think random pop stars are gay, but you make death/suicide threats? Ok.

The real kicker was this "disclaimer" at the end of their page: "If u ever have a problem with something i did or said, let me know." Idk, internet rando, I don't know if I'd feel comfortable telling you you did something wrong based off what I just read!

Also, before anyone asks, this person was in their early 20s (If they were a kid, I wouldn't mock them like this, not even anonymously). Do you think Louis might be in a Clay Aiken kind of situation where he was convinced to do IVF with a random woman? Clay Aiken was a gay American Idol contestant who was convinced to fake a baby. He almost went through with it, until he came out the next year after the stunt. They continue the raise the kid together. I wouldn't be surprised if the situation was similar, except they are too far in to organically accept that this happened. The whole marketing of Freddie as Louis' son is very similar to how Simon and his son were talked about. There is a rumor that his son isn't actually his, but that of Silverman and her ex. The ex and Simon continue to remain friends apparently, even though Silverman cheated on him with Cowell. The gay rumors of Cowell predate 1D, so I wouldn't be surprised.

I just looked this up and read a little about it. This is really intriguing. It seems like he just wanted to have a child with someone he was friends with. A lot of older gay men and gay men decades ago did this kind of thing, except without IVF by marrying their female friends and having children with them in order to convince the world that they're straight.

I see the original articles that came out before Clay opened up about his sexuality are honest about Clay doing IVF, so I don't see how this was a stunt to hide his sexuality.

Duncan from Blue did this exact same thing, except he actually had sex with the woman. This was also right after he came out as gay to his mother, and even his mother was confused when he told her he'd gotten his friend pregnant.

I considered this situation with Louis because in the articles about Louis becoming a dad, it states that Briana and Louis were "good friends" and that it was a "surprise" for them. There was even a gay man on a morning show who read the article and saw Louis's face and claimed Louis "looked like he was on his team" (aka saying he thought Louis also looked gay) and that if you read between the lines in the article it's very obvious what's going on, and he said "this is what gay men do; this is what we all do." And... yeah, I agree. I don't see how you can listen to a gay man say all that and still think Louis just got a hook-up pregnant by accident. It definitely sounds as if he and Briana were set up and knew each other a little and decided to have a baby in order to hide Louis's sexuality, as per his own choice.

If that's true, then I just plain don't get it. You're gay, you're afraid to come out of the closet, whatever. But why not, I don't know, have an IVF child with a woman but then raise the kid with your husband as well? That's certainly an option for surrogacy and would keep you in the closet at the same time. Yet there's so much reason to believe Harry hates Briana (see: the song Kiwi and the fact that he kicked Briana and her friend out of his concert one time). Why would he hate her if she was the surrogate mother to his and his husband's child? Just doesn't make sense. Plus they shade babygate too much for me to believe Harry and Louis are raising Freddie, so then what are we left with? Why would Louis have a child to hide his sexuality and then not just... take advantage of that situation by raising the child with his husband? Boom, now they have a child together! Great! Like?

1. I think they’re definitely aware of it, but I really don’t believe they read it. Honestly, it would be so strange to see yourself in that kind of context. While we might think something feels “so Harry” or “so Louis,” the reality is that we only know a tiny fraction of their lives. Fics are amazing for us as fans, but if I were in their shoes, I’d feel pretty weirded out by seeing myself portrayed in fictional scenarios through someone else’s perspective hahah so if it were me, I’d avoid it completely and that's I also believe for them.

2. I do think they use Larry for fan service, especially in recent years, as I feel the small signals they give are more about giving something to the fandom/larries than anything deeper and meaningful for them.

But I don’t think it’s entirely accurate to call it “promo.” I think both of them have leaned into this treasure hunt dynamic over the years, using the fandom’s (larries) incredible cryptic-solving skills. I mean, we've been trained for that with the bears. And Louis’ fanbase, which has a higher percentage of Larries, might be more directly impacted by these little hints... maybe in his lyrics or actions, but I don’t think Harry’s promo strategies rely on it at all. His fanbase is massive, and larries are just a small fraction of it. So this kind of signaling doesn’t seem aligned with his career approach.

There's a reddit post that gets shared around about this gal who dated a man that was very mellow about their relationship and then when they got married for practical reasons it was like a switch was flipped and he became a very sentimental and romantic man, like he could finally relax and act on his feelings knowing it was real love. I can't even begin to decide between Ingo, Larry, Cyrus, or Colress out of which one is the most like this. Fuck it, maybe Lysandre too?

Probably not Ingo, I think he has a certain romantic aspect and wants to fall in love before getting married. Though, he definitely is marrying his lover as soon as he's certain. Poor guy is too domestic to not show his genuine love and feelings for them. I want to say maybe Emmet, but even Emmet seems like he'd want a cute dating phase before marriage.

Larry, though, I can see 100%. Marries for the tax benefits, ends up falling deeply in love with his partner, and happily giving into domestic bliss. He acts very much like it's a business transaction, saying you probably would not have to deal with him too much since he's so busy with work.

Then, he finds himself softly enjoying the moments at home with his lover. He goes from brooding and serious to soft and calm. Polite, formal greetings agfter work give way to domestic pecks in the cheeks and quick hugs. He even starts eating dinner at home to spend more time with you. Larry feels a bit less cynical about the world in the end, at least when he's being embraced by you.

Cyrus... maybe. I'm biased in wanting him to be close with his lover before he degrades into the state seen in DPPt, but I could see him marrying for the facade. No feelings involved, naturally, as he's convinced he's fully suppressed his spirit. The poor person is just being used to provide a sense of normalcy to him and make him seem less suspicious.

It morphs into you doting on him and genuinely caring for him and accidentally melting his built-up walls. You are in his home, after all. His guard drops in what used to be an isolated space, and you strike his rare vulnerability and make him open up. Cyrus barely allows himself to indulge so with you he drowns in your affection. Soft touches and conversations about him and his struggles lead to a certain bond with you. He's mortified when he realises how much he has come to care for you unintentionally.

Colress... is probably a no-go on that. If he's marrying someone, it's either for his research somehow or because he does genuinely care for them. He's moving around too much to have time to worry about local laws and how they'll affect him lmao. I could see him maybe coming off a bit cold, though.

Maybe you expect him to keep disappearing from whatever region you live in to seek out more valuable data for his research, but he surprisingly comes back more often than you think. Colress probably even excitedly brings you gifts from wherever he's just been, be it a pokemon or souvenir. He surprises you with how much he tries to stay in contact, worried about you getting lonely or Team Plasma harassing you (if you're somewhere they are active). It's obvious he values you as much as his precious research, at least.

Mmm, not Lysandre either, I don't think. He's a passionate guy, after all lmao. With his lover, he's probably attentive and suffocating them in gifts, so it's hard to feel unloved and like he isn't oddly romantic or sentimental. Intimidated, on the other hand...

Nanu, perhaps, is a choice here? I could see him being in a casual relationship with someone and marrying them for whatever reason before realising how deeply he loves them. Old man doesn't shift to being overly affectionate or romantic, but definitely becomes obviously softer towards you and likes having you around him as he does his Kahuna duties or just lazing with his Meowths.

Or Grimsley. Grimsley would date someone casually, marry them to probably dump off his debts on them/because his family was annoying him and pressuring him, and then actually realise he adores having a spouse. He's like goes from essentially being a consistent guy for casual sex to just oddly endeared to you. Random gifts and trips with him because he finds himself enjoying his time with you. This is inspired by a post that was done a few years ago on a friends blog where they did for the SWSH leaders were reacting to thirsty tweets. This post includes characters from different games, so it’s not for just one group. This is a NSFW post. And no, I will not explain what anything means. This post will read like it is for a youtube video. The host of the video will be you, the reader.

As soon as the video starts playing, the viewer can see the host on screen. It wasn’t long before you said in the video, “On today's episode of Celebrity Thirsty Tweets, we have Gym Leaders, Elite Four, a Champion, and a Professor! Sit back, relax and enjoy the video!” The screen fades to black with a rendition of ABC by Jackson 5 playing. Soon the first person and their corresponding tweet is on screen.

It takes Leon a full minute of opening and closing his mouth before he could form a response. His cheeks turned a scarlet red. "I- I. Well that's certainly something. More power to you if you can accomplish that to someone." He looks down as he runs a hand through his hair. He chuckles, before he looks up at the camera, "Some of these fans are real imaginative."

As soon as Larry finish reading out the tweet, he lets out a deep sigh and shakes his head. "I am flour because I am bland? I will give you that. Sycamore's face heats up instantly. "That doesn't sound very safe, now does it?" He asks, "Although, I don't think you care about your safety from your tweet. Which is very important! Brassius starts shaking his head and tisking at the camera. " There will be no classes that I will model for. There will also never be any media of myself nude that will be made public." He leans back and scratches his head, before he continues. Isn’t it the same case with larries? I’ve seen varying opinions about larry’s closeting situation and louis’s fatherhood. It’s only on tumblr where I see this uniformity of opinion that they’re being forced to remain in the closet and that louis is definitely not a father

There will always be varying opinions across any fandom, but usually you have majority opinions (that most believe to be true) and then some variations of opinions when it comes down to the details of how and why things happen.

I think what you believe in also depends on when you entered the fandom, how closely you pay attention to things and level of fandom engagement, and your own age/maturity. The younger you are the more likely it is that you'll believe in the official narrative. The closer you pay attention, the easier it is to see what's real or fake and if you come into a fandom late, and don't get to experience things as it happens, the harder it is to believe different from the official narrative.

So younger fans coming into fandom now will mostly believe L is a father. Ask any larrie who were here when it all went down? None of us believe it. Ask any gen a fan coming into fandom if they think L and H are forcibly closeted? They don't understand the concept of closeting and that someone would be so cruel, also were in 2024. Ask any larrie who were here when H and L weren't allowed to sit next to each other, were here during the fight against Modest and experienced RBB/SBB, and heard the testimonials from other X-factor stars, everyone of us would say it's very much possible and probably what we see happening.

Some opinions hold more weight than others and some opinions are based on more knowledge and experience than others.

With ziam i feel like the fractions are evenly split, there are no opinion leaders or a common narrative that explains what the ziams are seeing. Because people see things so differently. With us larries we agree on the main points, there is a majority of larries who believe L is not a father and a majority that thinks they're still together. So that's the main difference in how i see things.

See it's right that we're not supposed to be spoon fed even the basic mannerisms or need any lec from how shippers/solos/armys should behave normal BUT sometimes when you're on wrong path someone HAS to show you the direction. In this case the ppl that are being vile over ships or even solos or armys in general needs words from member's mouth because sometimes that's the only way they listen. This is exactly what happens in real life as well that when you're on wrong path your parents show you the right direction sometimes it's someone else so SOMEONE has to do something about it.

we're definitely not at the situation where we can ignore these things and wait for everything to go normal automatically because that's never happening. If anyone wants the results then ONLY members addressing this whole issue is the option. I know some losers still gonna be vile because they get pleasure out of it but still.

if ppl wants to ignore then they obviously can but then don't expect the changes just live with wtv is happening rather than constantly complaining about the hate. let them hate whoever they want let it be the way it is. The constant crying about hate but not actually doing something about is really irritating, annoying and frustrating.

One thing I'll say tho that the situation with Tkkrs is so nasty that they're even worst than Larries and if Larries still exists after a whole wife and baby and louis constantly addressing the issue then just imagine what taehyung and jungkook's partners would go through. and I'm damn sure at that time jungkook himself would address the issue when his actual partner will get the hate unnnesary and everyone who says he's not going to do it because be doens't give a fk will know what exactly being in love actually means. The thing is, with people like the cult, there is no reasoning with them. Those people are genuinely psychotic to the point where they’re willing to wish ill will and harm on another member for obstructing their own made up fantasies.

That was from 5 years ago and yet, did they gaf about what tae had to say? Absolutely not. They don’t care to listen and we should stop acknowledging and engaging with people who wanna be purposely obtuse. As for solos, their biggest concern is wanting to be differentiated from army. The boys explicitly calling out their solos (even if it’s negatively) would still give them the acknowledgment they so desperately crave. Again, akgaes don’t care about the boys’ actual feelings. They don’t treat them like human beings and only as achievement bots to boost their egos. They won’t care if the artists they ‘support’ ask them to stop being nasty. They’ll only think, ‘Oh, member x knows he has a solo fan base and oh, that means he doesn’t care about the group anymore’.

I agree with you that we as a fandom need to do better in regulating this type of deranged behaviour within our spaces. I have hope that when the boys reunite, this will work to push out some of the bad apples. Chapter 2 has given delusional shippers, solos and akgaes the amo that they never had before the group hiatus. With the boys pursuing their solo careers and not being seen together as often, it’s given them a sick sense of validation.

As the boys have grown, the older part of this fandom also has. We all have our lives outside of this fandom and can’t afford to stay glued to our stan accounts all the time like we used to. With the boys’ group hiatus, we all agreed to take some time to work on ourselves and grow as individuals and I think that’s a wonderful thing. We’re people before being fans and constantly worrying about fandom beef and letting it run over your real life is extremely unhealthy.

Long-time stans and the people who used to call out bad behaviour aren’t as active within the fandom anymore. There's been a wave of new fans who I like to call army 'purists' who have this insane sense of entitlement towards everyone and anyone. They're quick to bully and harass people over the smallest things such as likening jk to a cute animated character. They're chart-obsessed and are willing to forgo morals to gain hollow achievements. I've seen long-time fandom translators being harassed over sharing pro-Palestine tweets. I've seen people excuse the actions of literal genocidal freaks such as Scooter Braun. The fandom is in the trenches but again, I have hope that once the boys reunite and once we as fans reunite, it'll be a step towards cleansing this fandom (Ik I'm being very optimistic)

When I say "Louis Tomlinson haunting the Haylor narrative is my favourite genre" I need people to know that I mean it. And I mean it when I say the dude HAUNTS the Haylor narrative, like he's the ghost of Christmas past; there are so many examples of it, but my absolute favourite is the compass, because it's just... So much.

So. H got the ship, right? At the peak of Haylor, when they were the IT couple everybody knew (which. Isn't it ironic that then Mr Styles spent the consequent... 5 years of songwriting? Or something?, talking about a relationship that was mostly secret? And everyone was like "this is about TS"? Anyway).

And the thing is. The thing is. The Haylor narrative had always been hilarious to me bc they truly did The Most. Honestly, no one did as much as those two pr teams combined did to make a relationship believable, and no one did such an AWFUL job (with the exception of hiddleswift, which was more tongue-in-cheek and self-aware anyway) in the history of pr relationships. Their story was so backwards and convoluted it doesn't even sound like they proofread the blurb of the narrative they were going to put out. I'm sure miss Tree is still having nightmares about it twelve years down the line and she wasn't even involved.

And I truly truthfully love how they both embraced it completely. Like, miss swift does her little thing where she'll write a song about someone, and sometimes she'll be very tongue-in-cheek about it, but nowhere she did it as much as she did with Harry, and H was Definitely up for the challenge, considering he named a whole ass track 'Trouble' and the nonsensical mentions of 'thirteen' just for the fun of it.

They had their fun building a narrative from scratch and I love that for them!

Because there is no fucking way IKYWT is for Harry. Like. It's 2024, I hope we all know that song was not for harry and I'm sure HE knew the song had nothing to do with him, but by god did they TRY to convince us of the contrary.

Did it make sense timeline-wise? Absolutely not, even if you try to grasp at straws, but oh, did they try.

Now, I'm sure we all remember the VMAs, highlight of my career, cameras panning to Harry absolutely unbothered, moisturised, clapping and chewing his gum as Miss Swift dedicated the award to the person who inspired the song, all while our homeboy was seething with passive-aggressiveness (dude didn't even clap! Their one-sided feud gives me life). Truly L was one with the larries in being a Haylor anti.

But we're not here to discuss that.

Because at least by then TS and H had broken up and it made some modicum of sense for her to be dedicating a song about a failed relationship to him. I mean, it made no sense to think she had written it with Harry in mind (Red was made while they maybe had seen each other once, not to mention it's famously about another relationship), much less to think she had made the video with him in mind (they were off gallivanting together! Why the fuck would she make a video like that about him). But that's the narrative that was circulating! And the funniest part is: the ship was used as evidence.

I'm sorry if I bring back some unwanted memories, but this is like. My absolute favourite thing. No headline has headlined the way this headline headlined. Notice that the ink was basically still fresh on the lovely boat (six fucking am in the morning, L hadn't even done his yet i think) and they were already putting out feelers so that H's tattoo would be linked to the video, which would link him to the song.

I'm not even saying he couldn't have been influenced by that tattoo (maybe he saw it and thought it was a cool idea), but you do see how "the removable tattoo a guy had for the music video about a sad song my gf wrote" is so far removed from "romantic tattoo idea to remember said gf" it would almost be insulting? They didn't care. They were doing The Absolute Most in pr terms, and it didn't even work!

Because, like a real presence haunting the narrative, Louis Tomlinson got the fucking compass that very same day. He truly was like "did you think this was about his fling with Blondie? Think again!" and that? That is so lovely to me. That is such a good way to haunt and counteract the narrative. Nothing will ever beat that and I'm grateful I got to witness it.

if a lot of people say that the ships are mainly fansservice is it not hard to tell if an idol would actually be lgbt? cause obviously they arent going to come out in a conservative controlling environment but it makes me wonder how if a ship isnt real isnt it just forcing an idol to act in a way they arent comfortable with or maybe people would assume one idol is actually gay when they arent or vice versa. sometimes it seems delusional when they overanalyse what appears to me to be a nice loving interacting between two members of rhe same group whereas some people would assume that those two are then dating but if we try ti tell them we arent we get called all sorts of things so again how would u realistically know

Yeah I definitely agree with you on that, honestly I think some of them just play into it more, but some of them have definitely gotta be gay. I think people can't really separate romantic and platonic relationships, so they just assume that it's romantic. And what you said about fans being disappointed if they're found out to be straight is so true, like with Karina earlier this year. Some people were genuinely mad that she wasn't a lesbian and winrina wasn't real, which is honestly bizarre to me because I don't even get the inkling that there's anything romantic between them. The fact that there's a ship in every group too is weird, and I remember larry 😭, people still ship them to this day, like the larry fandom is active. But some idols I look at and I'm like, you're definitely a little bit of something.

I sent you a lengthy Anon yesterday about wanting to understand more of what went on during 2018-2020 (thanks for sending all those links!) and have been on a big deep-dive again but wanted to know your take on things Louis has been doing more recently that could be seen as “Larry-baiting” like singing 7, I love him during BTY, the Walls Spotify covers mirroring Harry’s tattoos. As mentioned in my last ask I’m relatively new to being back amongst the fandom so have just been catching up with what people consider the big recent proofs.

Also on an unrelated note-related note I was also thinking again about Larries hating on Louis more and I think it’s also because Louis has giving so much more of himself to his fans over the years. The hate for the doco, for his interviews etc. I think stems from the fact that he is allowing people into his world that doesn’t necessarily align with how people think it should (I.e revolve around Harry) Harry on the other hand is so reserved and aloof it’s hard to even say what his real personality is, so it’s easier to project this positive, Larry-loving identity onto him.

I hope I’m not clogging your inbox too much, I just really appreciate your refreshing take on a lot of this, and have found far too many Larrie blogs that seem to hate on Louis an excessive amount.

Briefly, I think many Larries have the mistaken notion that not believing Louis and Harry are a couple is somehow “homophobic.” This often comes from older Larries, who know the evidence of a current relationship is nonexistent, so they carry out ad hominem attacks on their critics. The way they label critics as “rads,” “cunts,” “fascists,” “misogynists,” “homophobes” all fall into the same line.

Many solo Louies who don’t believe in Larry belong to the LGBTQ community themselves.

If Larries see Louis make any references to a queer relationship, they jump to “Larry.” But it actually could be about anyone, couldn’t it? For example in Back To You, I really don’t believe Louis is singing “I love him,” but even if he were, why would it necessarily refer to Harry?

And if Louis meant Harry, wouldn’t signaling that actually mean Harry has been a bad partner who had given Louis a toxic relationship?

Back To You is an also song that Louis specified wasn’t based on his real life experience. That’s neither here nor there. Long story short, I think Louis does larrybait, but not as much as before.

Larries also used to jump on Habit for the “come so far from Princess Park” line, but the song basically compares love to a drug addiction, and the partner as a someone was “mentally already out the door.” Not an image about mutual love.

Both of these songs, just like Walls, can be interpreted as stories about both Louis’ relationship to his partner and to his career.

Louis has always loved Catfish and the Bottlemen from the band days. 7 is also… about a relationship that doesn’t work out. The choice of a song with “Larry” in the opening lyrics is intentional, I feel.

Louis choosing Spotify cover art was a gesture toward fans. I won’t say that he wasn’t thinking about Larry, because who knows? Louis has definitely used Larry for marketing in the past (e.g. the rainbow bears). He knows it works.

When Harry is asked about 1D in interviews,  he always gives kind answers about his experience and the other guys.  You're saying that if Maya made a tiktok about what she heard Harry say or what Liam said about Harry that she's just free to do that if she wants? Like if she said he really wanted to leave the band because he wanted to be a respected solo artist and not part of a manufactured pop band he actually hated and he wanted more money and awards to himself not split between everyone else. You think Maya would be within her right to expose him like that when he is always so guarded with what he tells about himself and how he feels about things? And if she just casually confirms larry is real and outs both of them with some story about her and liam going on a double date, that's cool too because no one should be policing what others say? Random people discussing every aspect of their lives online is completely different from someone who actually knows them and speaks for them.

It's not me that's saying that - it's literally a fact about how the world works that is true whatever you say, or I say, or anyone else says.

Of course people have a right to talk about a person, even if it's contrary to the story that person is telling about themselves - the alternative is terrifying.

And I will say again - I don't believe that you think this is a general principle - I think you're just making it up in response to specific stories (or maybe the idea of specific stories) about 1d that you don't like.

People talk about 1D members with stories fans don't mind all the time. 1D members talk about other people all the time. You never see comments like this in response to either of those. The made up rules about not talking about other people, only come out in response to something the person who suddenly made up the rules doesn't want said.

There are many things I'd change about fan culture if I could. But the idea that fans could or should have a say in how the objects of their fandom are discussed is definitely one of them.
