Akito:

Akito's childhood was neither here nor there, so you both faced a lot of problems together

Any time something went down in his family, he would immediately go to you, not saying anything as he simply wanted to be in your company

When you end up moving away, he's not sure what to do with himself, but he tries to forget about you

Of course he doesn't, he still remembers your favorite color and favorite snack when you were young

You end up bumping into him while he's doing a street performance. You both met eyes as you were walking, and the shock of seeing him again makes you freeze

He's distracted for the first time, barely able to remember his set list as he keeps his eyes on you. There was no way it was you, right?

Immediately afterward, you both run to meet each other, and he can't help himself from hugging you. "When did you get back here? Ah whatever, I'm just glad to see you again."

Rui:

Rui's childhood was...something, to say the least. You were his best friend and he stuck to you like glue

You were with him as he started to get into robotics, encouraging his schemes and plans even when other kids started treating him as a weirdo

Your departure from his life shatters him, but he tries to move on as best as he could

He never moves on. He gets reminded of you all the time, and it kind of breaks his heart.

However, it all changes when you of all people come up to him after a WxS performance. Granted, he didn't see you in the crowd, but you recognized him

You went to tell him how good he did in the show, but he found himself bewildered to be face to face with you again. He almost cries, but he hides it as he embraces you

"Oh my god, it's you..." He whispers, still in shock as he pulls back to smile at you, "I've missed you so much." You spend time catching up with him afterwards!

Tsukasa:

Growing up, Tsukasa had quite the childhood. You were one of his only friends he had growing up

You stuck with him throughout elementary school, helping him as Saki went to the hospital, but you were forced to move away once you both grew older

He promised that he'd find you again one day, and kept a little charm you both made once close to his heart

He never backed down from a promise, and made sure to keep looking out for you even as the years passed

Finally, finally, one day, he saw you walking around Phoenix Wonderland. He recognized the charm you had almost immediately, and practically screamed your name

You were surprised to hear your name in the middle of an amusement park, but when you saw the man currently barreling towards you, it all made sense

He tackled you in the tightest hug he could, already excitedly talking your ear off as he looked you over, his eyes sparkling brightly. "I told you we'd see each other again!"

Mizuki:

You had stuck with Mizuki through a lot, they had been through a lot growing up after all

You had been with them before middle school and through the first year of it, however you both had been separated after you were forced to move

They were extremely upset about losing you, and they would always find themselves missing you on the loneliest of days

As the years passed, they never expected to see you again. It had been way too long, there was no way...

But, when they were out at the mall, they saw you from a random shop and almost dropped everything they had bought in their haste to see you

They called your name out, and you turned to look at them, surprise evident on your face. You both embraced, and you comment they seem happier, especially with how they've changed

They can only smile wide, squeezing you tighter in a hug as they looked down at the ground. "I think I'm even happier now that you're here."

for this reason, i feel like he regrets not finding the courage to befriend him sooner now that they're no longer in the same class

akito was anxious. you haven't been replying to his texts, and you haven't been attending classes this whole week. he even tried asking your classmates, which was rare. but there was no change of outcome.

ena has been worrying because of his lack of sleep. giving him glances from the dinner table when they were eating together, she's been complaining that he wasn't eating and that the male was just staring at his food, but it'd be obvious to everyone that she's obviously worried, just didn't want to admit it.

the younger shinonome was now sitting on his bed, taking quick glances from his phone, to see if you've replied.

3:45 am. his phone lit up because of a notification.

Akito sighed while walking through the corridors.

The scent of spring's arrival was felt throughout the school. People sat outside in their free period, windows were open, and the wind breezed through Akito's ginger hair, giving a playful ruffle before escaping through the window to torment another student.

It was a shame Akito didn't spend it with anyone. Toya was busy helping the library, Akito was hiding from An monitering the hallways, and Mizuki was not in school today, or any day for that matter. Talking to the crazy duo in school was absolutely a no-go, and to be fair he didn't feel like talking to any of his classmates.

Welp, he would just have to enjoy the nice weather by himself, he thought.

As if a coincidence, he saw a familiar figure sitting outside a classroom, scribbling notes down. He was too far away to examine the features of the figure, but the aggressiveness of the pen hitting the notebook sent a uneasy feeling in Akito's chest.

He walked closer, to find you, eyes glaring the paper down as if it wronged you. As if it hurt you.

As if the red error marks glared at you, reminding you of the disappointment you would have to face back home.

Akito walked towards you and grinned, unknowing of your situation as of current.

"Hey, [Name]. Preparing for the test?"

You look up and forced the corners of your mouth to turn upward, your eyes contradicting your smile.

"Hey Akito! What's up with you?"

Now that was odd, Akito furrowing his eyebrows with suspicion.

No cheeky remark back, the excessive kindness you were showing him... hell, your eyes looked dull! The shine of the morning sun seemed as if it was absorbed in a black hole of misery, even though the sun shone through the school windows.

Akito glanced at you and your notebook. Now that he had a better view, he noticed the sloppy handwriting and highlighted words that shouldn't have been highlighted. On the middle of the pages, he saw blurred pencil marks as tear marks stained your paper.

"Hey,  you seem a 'lil.. off today, everything alright?"

"Yep! Why'd you ask?"

Akito stayed silent, hoping for some truth to come out of your mouth, but alas, he came to no avail.

"No reason. I'ma head out now..."

"Take care!"

Akito nodded his head in acknowledgement and walked away from you, who began to immediately scribble down notes again. Akito took one glance at you, the side of you he had never seen, before turning and going down the stairs. He gave himself a mental note to check up on you by the end of the school day before finally heading to his next class.

But when the final bell did ring and the teacher sighed in relief, Akito walked to what he assumed to be your final class... to not seeing you in the class. He checked the classroom where he saw you last, he checked the courtyard and the commons, he checked the rooftop... but no sight of you anywhere.

He groaned in frustration, and walked down the rooftop stairs. Checking the corridors one last time, he finally decided to give up and walk back down.

I'll just see them tomorrow, they'll probably be somewhat normal by then.

Walking down the stairs in disappointment, he decided to take a shortcut Rui mentioned in passing to exit out from the side of the school. If he just made a left here, and walk down these stairs...

He wouldn't find the exit, but he would've found a pretty familiar backpack. Next to the backpack was a familiar person, in fact, someone he had been meaning to see.

But walking down the stairs, even as his steps echoed through the staircase, you didn't move at all, refusing to look at who was coming down.

He sat on the stairs next to you, and let out a small "hey", hoping for a moment you were alright. He was utterly wrong.

When you raised your head from your hands, Akito's eyes widen at the tear stains down your face. Your hands were shaking, your eyes looked like you've been crying for hours, and with every feature of your shrouded by misery, you could only respond with a "hey."

"[Name]. What happened?"

You try to laugh it off, but it came out weak and desperate for help.

"I'm fine Akito, there's no reason to get so worried."

"You're in the middle of the stairs, looking like you've been crying for hours, your notes from earlier had tear stains when I saw you, and you're telling me there's no need to worry?"

He gently grabbed your shaking hands before you could wipe off your tears and held them in his own. With your hands in his, you were forced to acknowledge his olive green eyes and his stern expression watching you.

"I'm not leaving you here to feel like crap by yourself. We're rivals, but I'm not an asshole either."

"Akito.... it's the end of the day, don't you have to get home anyways...?"

"Don't want to. Rather go to sleep with no worries."

"At least you can let go of my hands."

"I'm not letting you go until you tell me what's wrong. It's bad to bury your feelings, y'know."

You felt warmth in your chest, whether it was his hands holding yours, the close proximity between you both, or the much needed reassurance you got. You tried pulling your hands away slowly, but he only tightened his grip on yours, rubbing his thumb on your skin.

"Akito... I'm gonna bother you."

"If you're worried about bothering me, good. Bother me as much as you like. You can repay me with a trip to the coffee shop I like, if you really feel bad."

A silence, as Akito watched your face in concentration.

"Could I take you to the cafe right now? It could distract me, and I wanna repay you back now."

"Sure, I'm a little hungry anyways. You might want to wash your face, then we'll head out."

You slung your backpack over with one arm and stood up after Akito. He walked down the stairs, but there was one problem.

"Are you gonna let go of my hand?"

"Nope. Can't have you running off."

You grumbled under your breath a string of curses, saying how "unnecessary he was".

Although you were far from ok, Akito grinned at your remarks, relishing in your usual mood coming back.

You guys walked out of the staircase doors and you got to finally wash your face and fix your appearance, before leaving the school.

The walk to the cafe contained the usual bickering, but you noticed how softer he was with his words. You silently appreciated his comfort, before finally heading in the building.

The bell rings in announcement to your arrival, and the cashier up from greets you with a smile.

"Welcome in!"

You give a small smile to the cashier and Akito does as well. You both look at the menu, discussing the new flavors added, before Akito puts his order in, looking at you. You point to what you want, and Akito adds your order.

The clicks of the cashier added to the coffee roasting and the warm pancakes, while the gentle laughter you heard from the couple next to the door brought you to look around. The lights were dimmed, and plants grew on almost every wall in the cafe. It was slow, not many people were here, yet the scene you were in felt... nice. And with Akito next to you, you almost could..be ok. You realized you would be ok. One coffee date at a time.

Wait. Coffee date?

Your face grew hot at your own thoughts, and you turn away from Akito to pretend looking at anywhere else but him.

Jeez, [Name], get yourself together.

You took a deep breath, and looked back at the counter where the cashier quickly wrote something down.

"Sorry for the delay you two! Your total is 3970 yen."

Akito began to open his backpack, but you were faster, sliding the money towards the cashier. She began to laugh at Akito's surprise, and started to exchange cash for change.

Akito looked back at you and gave a look, his eyes screaming "you-should've-let-me-pay".

The cashier gave you your change and began to work on the order, while you both headed to a seat next to a window. Setting your backpacks down, Akito finally spoke up.

"I was already getting money out, you should've let me paid."

"Well," you grinned, "I had my money out first, slow poke."

"I...slow poke?! When was the last time you did anything in PE??"

"Oi, shut it!"

The rest of your time spent together was well spent bickering and laughing to each other's jokes. Your both grabbed your respective orders, and with the food just melting in your mouth and Akito's company, time passed by like a breeze.

You both snickered at a memory that occured one of your shared classes with him, your laugh getting louder with every second. You clamped your mouth with your hands, but your laughter still seeped through your fingers.

Laughter finally quieting down and the remaining food packed away, you both settled into a comfortable silence. The ambience of people chatting and spoons clicking soon embaced both of you like a blanket, almost comforting.

"Are you ready to go home yet?" Akito asked.

Ah. You knew this moment could only last for so long, yet... you still clinged onto this experience, knowing it was going to escape your grasp and turn into a memory.

Your mind felt as if your body wasn't at the coffee shop, and this was somehow a dream. No matter how much you distract yourself from it, you were always going to be home. home. home? was it even a home? would mother look at you and welcome you h ome? or would her dissatisfaction ooze through the "welcome h om e"  rug in the front? when did your home turn into a house, when did you started calling mom mother? when did-

"[Name]?"

"Ah! Sorry Akito, um.. could we stay for a few more minutes?"

He nods in agreement and the silence wrapped you both once again.

"I don't know what you've been dealing with, but... I get not wanting to go home."

"...Really?"

"Yea, plenty of times." He leaned his head on the back of the seat. "My dad, sometimes his words were a bit too much to handle. Sometimes, during days that were hard, his words were too little to matter."

He continued with a serious, more quieter tone. "Truthfully, I just had to keep moving. If i waited for his words of encouragement, I would've waited for too long to pursue my passions. I don't know about you, but time moves too fast to sit and wait for people to agree with you."

You gently nodded your head in understanding, yet...

"How would I explain that to my mom?"

"Hm?"

"Like... she's never happy. Always on me about something. And when I do reach her expectations, she discards everything I do and always needs to say how there's someone better. Someone worth enough for her satisfaction."

Akito sighed in a shared understanding of your situation. Yet, his first words in response contain of, "What are you trying to achieve?"

Akito knew what he was getting himself into. He had to after all. You- a popular idol known all around the country, who can be recognized from a mile away, with him, an average guy. You both went over it several times before it was made official, though you refused to let him refer to himself as “an average guy.”

You and Akito attempted to keep it on the low, but the paparazzi sees everything apparently. No amount of disguises and wigs could keep you hidden from at least one skeptical eye, even at an underground live house. But today the simple wig and glasses seemed to do the trick.

It took every ounce of self control in you to avoid cheering, not wanting your voice to get recognized. But when your boyfriend hit a perfect high note- you couldn’t help the loud cheer of enthusiasm and excitement you let out. A few heads turned, but they didn’t pay any mind until…

You however, seem to notice his distress. You gently rubbed his cheek in a reassuring way. If there’s one good thing that’s come out of all this, it’s that you don’t need to be as wary about PDA anymore.

“Whatever happens next, we have each other, yeah?” You say, not needing any response from Akito to know he agrees.

You two give a look of reassurance to each other before walking out the classroom door, hand in hand. The whispers got louder, but neither of you cared. After all, in days time this will all be forgotten about. Hopefully.

For some reason, Akito felt more dread while he held your hand. Your touch was the most comforting thing in the world to him- but he couldn’t help but feel as if someone was plotting something. It was unnerving.

He’s grown used to the whispers, the stares, and even the direct remarks over the past few days. But today felt different. People were eyeing him more than they were eyeing you, and the whispers included his name more than usual.

“Is something wrong, ‘Kito?” You asked, concern written all over your face.

“Actually, you can. You see there’s a party going on at my place tonight, and it’d be great if you came. I already told some people you’d be there with me, so I kinda need you to.”

‘Hell no’ Akito thought. It was wrong enough he told people you’d be there when you lost certainly weren’t, but the nerve to ask just you to this party in front of him? Your boyfriend? He knew what this guy was up to, and he didn’t like it.

Quietly opening the front door to avoid alerting Ena, he made his way inside the house alongside you. Throwing off your shoes and hanging his bag, you made your way to the living room.

“I… I heard things about that guy… it took me a bit to realize it was him, but I knew it was as soon as he went on about that party.” Akito sighed and took a breath before continuing. “He messes with other guys by getting close to their partners… I know Someone in my class who’s girl cheated on him with that dude.”

You understood now, he wasn‘r frustrated cause the guy was trying to use you for a party, he was frustrated cause he was trying to take you from him. You took Akito’s hand for the nth time that day, rubbing small circles on the back with your thumb.

“I didn’t have any intentions on going with him, especially without you. I also have no intentions in ever leaving you, for anyone. You got that?” Akito nodded and let his head fall on your shoulder. He wasn’t sure what he was so jealous for, but he felt better now that his mind is clear.

“That sounds nice.” Akito replied. Already pulling you down with him on the couch before shutting his eyes. He didn’t seem to care you and guys were still in school uniform, and honestly that seemed to be the last of his concerns.

It was a chilly fall day and it was finally the weekend. You had invited your boyfriend, Akito to your house as your sibling, Mizuki was out at the shopping mall. Akito had finally arrived moments before Mizuki got back too.

Akito got settled on the couch in the Akiyama living room and the two of started to talk about what you've been up to lately as exams had gotten the best of both of you, taking up all your free time.

You enjoyed moments like this, where you and Akito could talk non-stop and never run out of things to talk about.

Suddenly, a click was heard at the front door. Only now had you realized you haven't told Akito you and Mizuki are siblings. The door burst open and the sunlight from outside was hitting Mizuki's back, their arms wide open, their hands holding multiple shopping bags of various colors.

-The only people who knew were Kohane, An, Toya, and you group of close friends

-You guys had a secret relationship for about 2 months before somebody tried to ask you out and Akito got a little jealous and he introduced himself as your boyfriend.

You and Akito had been dating for about 2 months before somebody had actually come up to you to confess. Normally there were just like love letters in your locker, and you would get love confession texts. But this boy was a little more bold then the average guy that would ask you out, he walked up to you fully confident that you would have fallen in love with him at first sight and immediately go out with him.

“Hey cutie” He started which immediately set off a red flag with you

“Uh hi?” You questioned still trying to be nice

“So how would you like to go on a date with me sweetheart” he asks smirking and your surprised state

Luckily Akito, An, Toya, and one of your close friends were on the other side of the hallway from where this was taking place at, just ask Akito heard he started walking over to you.

“Wait for real..?” The boy asks looking kinda panicked as if he just realized that he saw a ghost or something

“Yeah” Akito said taking his hand in yours

The rest of the people around you guys were shocked, the most popular girl and school and this kid?! It didn’t make any sense why wouldn’t you date the most popular guy in school?!

The other guy quickly ran away when he realized that Akito was serious, he couldn’t have a bad reputation of hitting on girls with boyfriends.

But now the hard part, the whole rest of the school, but you two decided to leave that to another part or so you assume, just as you were about to talk to everybody else in the hallway Akito pulls your hand with him as he leads you up to the rooftop and takes a seat and pulls you in between his legs.

“Sorry” he says burring his head into your neck

“It’s okay, I really don’t mind” you say giggling at his action

“Mhm.. okay” he says starting to drift off into dream land

You decided to pull out your phone and just scroll for a minute but when you heard the bell you tried to get up and then realized that Akito was asleep and instead of going to class, you just decided that you would rather be with your boyfriend anyway and just let him continue to sleep.

Of course you knew Akito, Mizuki had mentioned him a couple of times. The nickname "Lil Bro" was always enough to make you laugh whenever you saw him-

Your conversations were simple yet sweet, and you found that he left you with a warm, fluttery feeling in your chest

It was a random day after school, where you were packing up your bag. Everything seemed normal, until...

Before either of you could say anything, Akito grabbed his bag, grumbling about having to leave for practice. It was an impulsive move on your part, but you grabbed his arm, effectively freezing him in tracks.

"Yeah, I'd love to. Does this weekend work?" Akito stared at you before smiling, attempting to keep his cool as he nodded. "It does. I'll see you then?" You nodded, and the warmth between you two just felt so right

...The moment was immediately ruined by Mizuki whistling behind you two. When Akito went to glare at them, they just grinned, giving you both a thumbs up, "I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner!-" "Mizuki, I will kill you." "I'd like to see you try, Lil Bro!"

Mizuki had sprinted out of the classroom, and Akito was quick to follow. Despite the initial embarrassment, you found that you were glad to have been caught.

Today had been an absolute mess for Akito.

First he woke up late, then his motorbike stopped working halfway to work, meaning he was late for work. And after he finally made it to work, his boss yelled at him in front of all the other workers.

He was only further humilated when the other workers started teasing him, bascailly harrassing him for their own amusment.

He hated working here. Everyone was an asshole, especially his boss, but alas, he had no choice. He needed money and this job was the only one he's been able to keep recently.

Every other job he had before let him go because they found someone better, and that pissed Akito off to no end.

Like, what the hell?! He worked his ass off for days, weeks, maybe even months, and you fire him just because someone that was considered 'better' came along?!

"You sure you don't want my help, Akito?" Unlike Akito, his brilliant little sister Mari had her dream job. One that paid good money and made Mari happy.

Despite wanting to say yes, Akito tells her no. It might be a pride thing, but he didn't want to take her hard earned money. It just didn't feel right.

"Done..." Akito sighs in relief as he finished the last of his work for the day. It was nighttime, and he was the only one left in the office still working.

Mostly because everyone dump their workload onto him. The sad thing was he couldn't complain because the last time he did, his boss gave him even MORE work to do!

"Those jerks better be grateful..." Akito mutters as he gathered his things and made his way outside, shivering when cold air bit his face.

Since his motorbike wasn't working, Akito had to go home on foot. It was seriously nerve wracking walking home in the dead of night...

"Cold..." Akito shivers again, tugging his coat closer for warmth as he walked down street after street, slowly getting closer and closer to his cosy little apartment.

Akito was soooo tired... Gosh. He was so glad he didn't have work the next day! That meant he could sleep in late! YES!

With the happy thought of sleeping in the next morning, Akito finally smiles the for the first time that day, or well, night.

But the Akito's smile slips from his face when something darts out from the alleyway he walking by and slams into him.

Akito stumbles back and looks down to see- "A kid?!"

There sitting on the ground was a little boy. He looked to 6-7, maybe even younger, dressed in a dirty yellow coat, and was trembling as tears dripped down his face.

Akito immediately drops to his knees, frantically asking the boy if he was alright. However the boy doesn't answer, he just lets out a whimpering cry and latches onto Akito, burying his face into Akito coat.

It was at this moment that loud yelling could be heard down the same alley way the little boy came from. "Where the fuck did that brat go?!"

Hearing this, Akito tenses up and holds the trembling boy close as he stood up, desperately looking around for a place to hide!

Akito ends up hiding behind some nearby trash bins. Once settled, Akito looks down into the terrified face of the little boy and silently puts his finger to his lips. Whispering the single word, "Quiet..."

The little boy nods, burying his face back into Akito coat as men in black suits came out the alley way. They sounded angry, and Akito sure as hell didn't want himself or this kid on the other end of that anger.

The men were now standing by the trash bins Akito was hiding behind. "You sure he went this way, Ken?"

A growl was heard. "Yes, you dumbass! I saw him run down that alleyway! He couldn't have gotten far! Come on!"

After a few minutes, the men's voices fade away, leaving only Akito and the little boy alone on the streets.

"Okay. I think they're gone now..." Akito breaths a sigh of relief before looking down at the boy who was still shivering in his arms.

"...Really? They-They left?" The boy whispered, not quite believing it was true.

"Yeah, they're gone now." Akito carefully stood up, cradling the child close. "What's your name? Mine's Akito." Baby steps. Akito needed to understand this situation better if he wanted to help this kid.

"...S-Satoshi."

"Oh? That's a nice name." Akito nods with a smile and starts walking speed walking home. He didn't want to stick around incase those men came back.

"Alright then Satoshi, can you tell me why those mean men were after you? I need to know so I can help you, okay?"

By the time Akito got home to his apartment, he had a basic idea of what happened to Satoshi. The poor boy had been snatched up eariler that day while he was playing outside his home.

"Dad had gone back inside to talk with someone, so I was just playing outside with my toys." The little boy explained as Akito bundled him up in some warm blankets.

Satoshi sniffled, looking ready to cry again at any moment. "I-I think someone grabbed me? Th-Then I was somewhere diffferent!" Yeah, he was crying now. "I-I want my dad!"

Somehow Akito manages to calm him down enough to ask if he knew his dad's phone number.

Honestly Akito should be calling the police, but something in his gut told him he should contact Satoshi's father first.

After dialing the phone number Satoshi gave him, Akito handed the child his phone, letting the him talk to his dad. When Satoshi's dad answered, the boy started crying, telling his dad what happened, and that he just wanted to go home!

The converstation between father and son went on for a few minutes before Satoshi handed the phone over to Akito, saying his dad wanted to talk to him.

With a little hestiation, Akito says hello.

"...You the guy that found my son?" A deep, gravely voice spoke over the phone, startling Akito for a second. "Y-Yeah, I am."

The man then he asks where Akito lived, saying he was coming to get Satoshi. NOW.

Akito barely got out his adress and apartment number before the other man hung up on him.

Not even 20 minutes or so later, a knock at Akito's door was heard, and when Akito cracked open the door, he came faced to faced with the scariest looking man he's ever seen!

Tall, dark, and were those tattoos on his hands?! This man had to be a Yakuza or something!

"Dad!" And this scary looking man was Satoshi's dad!

The look the terrifying looking man gives Satoshi was that of pure relief. He drops to his knees and hugs Satoshi, saying he was so glad Satoshi was safe.

Akito couldn't help but smile. Despite being scary, this man clearly loved his son very much, and that warmed Akito's heart.

The father son duo leaves after that, well, not until Satoshi gave Akito a quick hug. "Thanks for saving me mister Akito!"

The little boy darts back to his father, who then picks him up, and the three of them walks outside Akito's apartment.

Akito felt a spike of nervousness as he sees more scary looking men standing nearby.

"Hey kid." Akito is pulled away from his nervousness when the older man calls out to him. "Thanks for helping my son. I-" The man expression becomes dark, sad. "I don't know what would've happened if you hadn't..."

Akito too didn't want to think about what could've happened to Satoshi either. The boy had already grew on him after a short time, and Akito didn't want to imagine the boy being hurt, or worse.

"Well, he's safe now, and I think you should probably take him home." Akito smiles as he points at Satoshi. The boy was sound asleep in his dad's arms.

To Akito's surprise, the older man returns his smile. "Yeah, you're right."

The older man leaves with his scary crew, and Akito retreats back into his apartment.

"What a night..." Akito mumbles, flopping down on his bed. "Can't wait to tell Mari about this..." He mumbles again, finally drifting off to some well needed sleep...
