Summary:
The werewolf lets go of the body and spots Chris immediately.
There’s a tactical belt cinched around its middle, digging in sharply in the hollow under its ribcage. A shaggy mane of fur coats its back and limbs, but he can still see traces of clothes that didn’t break away. A sniper veil is wound around its neck.
Piers’ callsign has, unfortunately, become very relevant.

Imma be so real rn. Idk how i managed to clean up my mental health. It is still trash and my bones are riddled with trauma and my body with scars but I’m still here. Perhaps I’m a bit more melancholy today because I’m not used to peace like this.
It snowed again today and all I did was read my book with my cat in my lap. Had some nice piano music going and some boba and really just relaxed and enjoyed the peace. It almost doesn’t feel real, like I’m expecting something to go horrifically wrong.
I’ll be okay, despite it all I got myself here. I did it myself despite all the road blocks. Is it wrong to cry for a peace you finally got because you fought hard for it?

(...) but amongst the pastiche of war and desire, beauty and damage, I saw Claudia, in an impossible afternoon light she could never survive in. Claudia as Madeleine perceived her. Resplendent. rendered even more beautiful by her beholder. And I knew then, with all certainity, she would be a better companion to Claudia than I ever had.
